I've had Golden Spoons in Buena Park and thought hey this is really good. There really isn't one close to me so I tend to go to Yogurtland a lot more. However, occasionally when I pick up my brother from school at UCI I tend to visit Golden Spoons. I love the customer service. They are like extremely jolly (like x-mas Santa jolly). The frozen yogurt is classic and sweet, filled with a creamy rich texture. I like to go with the classics (strawberry, vanilla or chocolate) tho some of their other flavors are pretty good too (such as the boysenberry). You pay and add the toppings you want, for me just strawberries most of the time. If Im craving something more along the lines of ice cream type frozen yogurt then yeah I will probably stop here.

These guys won't even accept a credit card, if your frozen yogurt order is less than $3. -Dumb policy - Plus a very rude female staff with attitude at this location. I will never buy froyo from this Golden Spoon again.

How can something so simple be SO satisfying? Maybe its because I haven't had something too sweet for 3 days due to a catastrophic stomach bug incident...or much of any real sustenance really. Anywho I'd been craving something sweet and creamy and on a typical weekday after dinner adventure my boyfriend and I stumbled into UTC for a usual cup of boba. Tonight I opted to be adventurous. Tonight I wanted to try Golden Spoon. I was literally the only customer and after being greeted I asked what I would think would be the most offensive question, "What's the difference between this yogurt and yogurt land?" The young guy across the counter just chuckled and said, "I think ours tastes better." Good enough for me young man! I shall take a mini cup. He offered me a sample before I took the plunge and I tried the Cafe Latte. Mmmm. Perfection. I had to have it. I ordered half cafe latte and half classic vanilla in a small mini cup topped with rainbow sprinkles. Why sprinkles? Because they make me giddy like a little kid who is handed a puppy with a big fat bow. They make me content to my core. And after 2 nights of getting to know my toilet and bedroom carpet in ways no one should know I needed that kind of joy. I needed those sprinkles. My mini cup was the perfect amount of froyo for me and I have to say I enjoyed it much more than I've been enjoying the yogurtland across the path lately. It was creamy, thick, and silky. The sprinkles made me smile after each little crunch. Overall it was a really clean place and in my opinion had fresher looking toppings than yogurtland too. Golden Spoon I will definitely be back. To think I went through 4 years of undergrad without ever ONCE trying you! Shame shame shame on me!

Who is Kim? She said she was the owner..So rude & disrespectful ...after decades of not having golden spoon, my friend and I went to get some and encountered this kim character who was extremely rude when we asked to try 3 different flavors not to mention she was glued to her phone when we walked in without acknowledging us & let's not forget the most bizarre part of it all she yelled at us the whole time, wow never going back to this location!!! Our conversation went like this: I asked her who is the manager she said "ME.. You want to know who the owner is?? ME" and I told her " you shouldn't talk to your customers like this, I can go to yogurt land" and she said "okay then go" I'm still in shock how they are in business if this is how the "owner" is

Admittedly, I'm not a much of a sweets guy. I'd prefer to get something savory than anything sugar-coated. But yesterday was $1 froyo monday (for a mini size)... And some friends wanted to meet up there. I ended up getting pumpkin frozen yogurt with graham cracker (topping was $.55). The yogurt was just okay, but the graham cracker was awkward. It was powdered. I feel it would've been better to have some small pieces of crunchy graham cracker as the contrast in texture would've been more appealing. Also, two of my friends ordered the chocolate but tapped out. They said it was way too sweet like a cocoa powder. They both looked down at their half-full cups and cringed. Stop by if you want to hang out with friends and get froyo but it's really nothing special. And avoid the chocolate froyo...

Totally not recommended! I ordered the regular size old fashioned vanilla ice cream with gummy bears... The gummy bears were hard as a rock the minute I got my order and I almost lost a tooth! I asked for a new one w/o the gummy bears but they refused and charged me + extra for the new ice cream... Wow... What an experience at golden...

  • Julie C.

Horrible Service!!!!!!! The gummy bears were hard as rocks, and they refused to change my order. I threw away the whole thing, and paid it full!!!!! Never coming here again. UgH!!!!!!

What's not to love about Golden Spoon? Always reliable and always good. I personally love the coffee ice cream with Reese's peanut butter cups on it!

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE golden spoon.... This location however, is awful. The employee I encountered was so rude to me that I ended up leaving without yogurt. So disappointed!! Oh well, go to Yogurtland instead! It's in the same center.

Great location in a strip mall next to Ralph's. Very clean and friendly staff. And they have eggnog for the holidays.

  • Amy H.

Nothing special. If it weren't for the fact that it is in a prime location, surrounding with other types of eateries like Tender Greens and Le Dip, I wouldn't normally come here for my tasty after-dinner snack. The location can look pretty empty from the outside, but they do have a variety of options to choose from. There is usually one staff person working, so if it gets busy, it can be a pain in the butt. Currently having a special: $1 yogurt (small size) on Monday and Wednesday nights.

I typically go to yogurt land, but decided to go to this location while I was on campus. I am very disappointed in the level of service experienced here. The lady who was serving the yogurt, was very stand offish, and looked at my group as if she would really not be bothered. I asked for a sample and did not care for the two flavors I tried, so wanting to order something I asked to sample a different flavor. She looked at me in disgust and told me no you can only try two flavors. She did not thank any of us purchasing yogurt, and was very short with each of us. With this type of customer service i think I will stick to yogurtland where they seem to appreciate their customers rather than dread them. As far as food quality, the yogurt is watered down. Not the best choice out there.

  • Brizylla A.

This place is your average yogurt shop. I think this place is extremely overpriced for what you're getting. And to be honest, it's not the best taste ever, there could be better. Service is whatever too, the guy who helped me barely talked, I had to tell him what I wanted rather than him ask me. I told him it was my first time and he still didn't talk much. No suggestions or anything. I also don't like the portions, and when I asked for Kit Kat on top, he sprinkled like 10 crumbs. I didn't pay extra to merely get 10 sprinkles of Kit Kat topping on my yogurt. This place disappointed me and I am never coming back here again. The taste was good enough, but nothing special. Try it if you're craving it, it's not great though.

  • Tiffany H.

Thought I would give the rather lonesome Golden Spoon a try. Bad choice. I was rather disappointed -- the frozen yogurt was watered down and soupy in a matter of minutes. The espresso flavor is tasty, but salted caramel and chocolate malt are definitely a no-go.

  • Kat R.

Cake batter :-) and every Monday 2 flavors for $1!!!!! As a college student and a baller on a budget this place is incredible! Enough said loved it :-)

I should have read the other reviews for this location before making the trek over here. Sure enough, I was told by a rude male employee that my stamp card with 8 stamps that said "Good at participating locations" (it didn't say any specific locations were excluded or only certain locations were included) would not be accepted. When I explained to him that the stamp card did not list any exclusions and was not for specific locations only, he said the manager had said this location was no longer accepting stamp cards. I was upset but didn't want to be that rude person who orders yogurt and leaves without paying since he had already made my order. Very frustrating experience for a loyal customer, Golden Spoon's corporate office will be hearing about this!

I've been coming here since middle school. Back when we saved up quarters and begged our parents to drop us off at UTC so we could grab some Golden Spoon after school. Now that Yogurtland has opened up, I never come to Golden Spoon anymore but it's still a pretty good spot for non-tart frozen yogurt. The yogurt here tastes just like ice cream. It's weird because I like frozen yogurt but Golden Spoon just makes me want to eat ice cream instead. Anyways, I generally stick with Vanilla and get toppings on it. Graham Cracker powder and whatever chocolatey stuff I'm in the mood for. Stick with the mini. It's more than enough :) 3/5

Friendly owner. Clean floors, chairs, tables, and countertops. Wiped down machines, all working. Bought FroYo for my class today. It was too pretty to stay indoors so we moved our lessons outside into the courtyard. The weather went from warm to hot so I decided to buy them a round of Mini's for the afternoon. I'm not a FroYo connoisseur but I do know that I enjoy Golden Spoon. Great prices. Generous portions. Good flavor. Decent selection (depending on where you go). This location had 10 flavors to choose from which is plenty enough for me. I'll most likely be back when the weather gets consistently hotter.

  • Heather G.

I grew up on Golden Spoon and they are my favorite yogurt of all time. They have closed the two closer to me so when I'm near UCI campus, I never hesitate to stop in for a yogurt. The only bad thing about this location is lack of parking, which is hard to find. My fave flavors are coffee w/ carob chips and pomegranate. Yum.

  • Bryan S.

The last time I came to this Golden Spoon, the girl behind the counter told me that she could not accept my stamp card because not all the stamps on my card were from their store. Not a big deal... I can just go to another Golden Spoon and redeem it, right? No need to be rude about it. I'm looking at some of the other reviews about people talking about how wonderful the owner is, but how rude and unprofessional the "young woman" is. I'm wondering if this is the same girl that I ran into. To the owner: If you're reading this... It's probably time to let her go. She's ruining your business.

    (1)
  • Adrian A.

Yogurt sample was good, hence 1 star. Rude owner/manager lady, hence no more stars. Would not take my corporate coupon when all other locations have accepted it. Happily went to Yogurtland! Rude service.

  • Nicole J.

If I want frozen yogurt that's not self-serve I'll go to Golden Spoon. This Golden Spoon is right across the street from UCI, which is probably why the prices are a little cheaper than the one on the corner of Alton and Jeffrey. The owner is very friendly, but there is one young woman that I've come across several times who's a bit rude.

I've been coming to this location on and off for about four years. My most recent visit will likely be my last. They have a promotion at this location: Two Stamp Tuesdays. You know what you get? Two stamps for every yogurt you purchase on your little "frequent yogurt-buyer" card-thing. In addition to it being Tuesday, I had a coupon! "Holy Cats and Christmas!" I thought to myself. "I'd be stupid NOT to go to G-Spoon today." So, I show up and I get two small yogurts to go (one's for my wife). Then I head to the register and show my coupon--buy one get one free. It says it right there on the card: if I buy a yogurt I get one free. And since I was BUYING a yogurt I wanted to get TWO stamps on my card. It was Two Stamp Tuesday, after all. You still with me? All that seems logical to me. If I hadn't used a coupon I would have gotten two stamps... but with a coupon the middle-aged Asian man behind the register says, "You use coupon--normally double stamp day--but just one stamp for you." He then angrily stamps my card... once... my jaw drops. Whoa! I read the Two Stamp Tuesday sign--there is no fine print--there are no exclusions listed. I ask for my additional stamp and the employee refuses. OK, it's one little blotch of ink--one stamp closer to a free yogurt. And I felt like I got the shaft. GIMME MY STAMP, YO! Also, apparently there's HFCS in their yogurt--not cool. Enjoy getting bludgeoned to death by Yogurtland, G-Spoon. I'm done with you.

I've been a fan of golden spoon from the first time I tried it. For some reason, it is the perfect choice of dessert on a rainy day walking through UTC. I love the size of the mini, but the closeness in prices of the larger sizes always tempt me to get larger sizes. There are promotions often, especially with take-home pint sizes (although I am not sure if there is one right now). The staff is friendly, which is definitely a plus. My only complaint? Although I love some flavors, some other flavors seem too artificially made...I still love Golden Spoon though, promise!

I had a $5 gift card for this place, and I finally decided to use it! I used it on a vanilla/pineapple thing.. with a waffle cone. I am giving it 2 stars because of the price. It's kind of pricy.. I don't know why anyone would come here when you can just go down a few doors to Yogurtland. The ice cream was kind of creamy and thick. I thought the pineapple was very good though, so I had to give them that! They also charge extra for the waffle cone (not surprised), but seriously?! $4 something for a little ice cream?! :( Maybe I'm just being cheap, but I don't know man.... I would probably not recommend this to my friends or not come back here again although it is close to UCI. I would just go down a few doors and go to Yogurtland.. mucho better & mucho healthier. P.S. I think I gained like 3 lbs just by eating their ice cream.. D:

Okay okay. I did the ultimate fatty thing. I had a MINI g-spoon then had some y-land. And honestly..G-spoon is way better. Yogurtland plays off of our affinity for choices. Yes, we like pulling the levers ourselves and scooping the toppings, but the difference in quality cannot be ignored. I'm definitely going to start taking my business back to golden spoon because the DIY yogurt novelty has worn off. Long live golden spoon.

Ehhh. 2.5 stars. This review is for the tart yogurt (only one tart flavor is available and it is called Simply Tart). The most remarkable thing about this place is eating from a golden spoon (/http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/aH-YWtis_kqTGLCZOGcM1w/l). Only it's really plastic, so whatever. I got a mini (1.75) which they really filled up, to the point that my toppings (.85) had to be put in a separate container. There were very few fresh fruit toppings available; I got blackberries and they were not fresh, although the girl was generous with them. I really did not want to eat all my yogurt, but I did because I convinced myself that it was good for me, with calcium and cultures and the like. Also I'd spent $2.50 on it. It was actually really bland, with a slight cream-cheesy taste that I despise in tart frozen yogurt. There was a faint woody aftertaste. I should have gone to the adjacent Yogurtland instead. Froyo fail.

Great owner. Friendly, wanted to know my name so he could remember me next time. Was helpful. Yogurt at right temp. Very clean. Toppings filled to the top, all of them. And they weren't out of anything. I heard him talk to another lady about my age (40) as I was leaving. He said Chocolate and Coconut right? With almonds? Without her giving the order. Now that's service...This is my new location for FroYo!

"I can't believe it's not ice cream!" Believe it. I've been here so many times last year, it's not even funny. I used their punch cards to the maximum (buy 8 yogurts, get the next one FREE). In fact, I just used another punch card a few days ago. Good deal if you love yogurt. Anyways, I particularly like the quality of this yogurt. It's funny since it does taste so much like ice cream. In fact, I still wonder how they got it to taste that way. Price is pretty reasonable, too, especially with their occasional $1 Mini yogurt deals. Servings here are GINORMOUS! Definitely try some. I can't finish a Regular size by myself. I usually get the Mini. Flavors to try: - peanut butter (if you love that homey PB taste) - peanut butter cup (if you want an extra bang to your PB) - mint (if you like a lot of mint) - cake batter (if you like a lot of sweetness) - vanilla (plain but nice subtle flavor. Must-try!) They have seasonal flavors as well, so their flavors always change. If you like Pumpkin, I suggest trying that flavor when it comes around the Fall! It's delicious! Next time you think of going to Yogurtland, think again.

A friend of mine gave me a coupon for a free yogurt that was good just at this location. Figures. But being on this yogurt stint that I'm on, I drove up here JUST to get my free yogurt. On the drive up, I was daydreaming of the Peanut Butter flavor that I love...and found myself on the verge of drooling. Oops. This Golden Spoon is located right across the street from UCI and there were so many college people walking around...and it made me realize how much I miss the college atmosphere. It makes me crave going back to Graduate School even more.... Store was small but clean and the staff was friendly! Gotta love it! If I'm ever around UCI again in the future, I'll for sure stop at this Golden Spoon again.

Between Golden Spoon and Yogurtland, YOGURTLAND WINS hands down. These are the reasons why you should choose Yogurtland: 1. Ingredients: Golden Spoon's yogurt is made with high fructose corn syrup 2. Choice: The flavors and toppings at Yogurtland are WAY more extensive and impressive. With the low turnover at Golden Spoon these days, who knows how long their toppings have been sitting out! 3. Service: The customer service is TERRIBLE. I recently tried redeeming a stamp card at this location, and the girl refused to accept it. Why? Because, she told me, there needed to be "at least one stamp" from their store. Where does it say this on the card?!? I have never had any issues with the stamp card and origin of stamp, until now. However, this is not the first time I've encountered bad service from this location. Enough is enough, and I will NEVER COME BACK. 4. Cost and worth: Yogurtland gives you the option to buy however much you want with unlimited toppings. This means if you want to buy $1 worth (approximately 3 ounces), you can! The minimum you'll be spending at Golden Spoon is $2 for their 4 ounce "mini" (50 cents an ounce if you buy this size). A small yogurt at Golden Spoon (8 ounces) cost you $3.15. That's almost 40 cents an ounce, with no toppings. Essentially, they are encouraging you to SUPERSIZE your yogurt to get better value. Sound familiar...? Even with the buy-one-get-one promotions, it is NOT worth it!!! In short, there is a reason why Yogurtland's line is out the door while Golden Spoon stands alone and empty.

I've been going here for some time to be honest (i.e. close to 8 years( and its still pretty decent. Every now and again they'll switch up the flavors and will let you mix whatever you want. The froyo is pretty decent and the workers there are pretty chill (depending upon who is actually staffing it from time to time). But sometimes I would get a topping or two and find it had been out for a bit longer then it should have and found it to be stale (stay away from the cookie stuff) The thing where i take issue is the addition of the high fructose corn syrup. What is the point in marketing yourself as frozen yogurt and displaying yourself as a healthier alternative, when in actuality, you're a worse alternative since High Fructose corn syrup has been known to show abnormal fat desposits. So, if you dont mind the HFCS, then by all means its a decent option. But, for those of you who go for the sake of getting a 'healthier alternative' please do not go since you aren't being told the full details here. If they can can give out a list of ingredients somewhere on a sign in the shop, that would be nice

This Golden Spoon is located in University Center across from UCI. It provides convenient means to get your frozen-treat fill of the day. I used to really dislike Golden Spoon because the frozen yogurt didn't have all the creamy fat of regular ice cream. But, ever since I moved from whole milk to 2% to non-fat, I find myself slightly repelled by ice cream (unless, of course, it's Ben & Jerry's). Golden Spoon offers cones and and the cups come in four sizes. I don't like the gaping portion difference between a mini and a small. The mini seems to be TOO small and the small too large. I polished a small off by myself yesterday and towards the end, it wasn't much fun. I'm not too keen about the chocolate/peanut butter flavors and stick to the fruitier flavors. I have found strawberry, raspberry and pumpkin to be rather tasty.

My favorite yogurt shop in Orange County. Super nice owner, great selection of flavors, creamy texture, tasty toppings, and a bargain. Kids beg me to go here on every trip to Newport Beach.

on monday they have 1$ mini cups. and everyday i believe they have happy hour... where you get a BOGO cup... except for minis. they do get different flavors one in a while. i personally like the Toffee (Heath Bar) one. i feel bad for golden spoon, cuz once yogurtland opened up pretty much right next door, their business slowly shrank. their yogurt is thick, white, creamy and melts in your mouth... uhhh, this is starting to sound like a porn flick... ANYWAYS, it's pretty guud. if you want a dessert or are just a fattie like me, come to golden spoon and it will hit your sweet spot.

  • Johnny C.

I thought it was just okay. Though I really did enjoy the cake batter and the new york cheesecake flavors (which I ordered together in a small-size), it was hard to tell the flavors apart. Personally I would've preferred Cake Batter ice cream from coldstone but I did enjoy it! Perhaps my favorite thing about this place was the cheery old asian man who worked behind the counter and the golden spoons that it comes with! I got two to bring home! :D I wanna come here again to try the other flavors, maybe tomorrow cause its two-stamp tuesday :] also, the small size is a good price and I felt full afterwards :P whenever I get yogurt at a non-self-serve location, they tend to give me a lot and I never end up finishing it. so I would never get a large or a medium size but that's just me.

This place definitely satisfies my sweet tooth. Maybe even overly so. Probably wouldn't make my dentist too happy, but it makes my tummy happy :D Conveniently located, this place also has really nice employees. They were so patient with us as we were trying to pick from the many selections they had, and they let us sample everything we wanted to try. In the end, we finally got Cake Batter with three toppings: Cookie Dough, Caramel Cups, and Hot Fudge. GOOD CHOICES. Very delish. Good times :D

Despite being close to campus, I am surprised why this shop has so little reviews! I usually get a mini ($1.75) or a small ($3). It's been here for at least a decade right!? Anyways, between this place and Yogurtland on Jeffrey, it's almost a toss-up! I usually go to whichever that is convenient to me, but I can't say no to their creamy-almost-like-ice-cream yogurts! However, sometimes I just really want fruity/tart flavors which is commonly offered by Yogurtland. Unlike Yogurtland, you don't have to worry about the person before you who didn't wash their hands and just slobbered their germs on that dispenser handle. However, I don't think the service is all that friendly here in comparison to Yogurtland. Oh yeah, be mindful of the portions you choose, I think I had sugar crashes twice from consuming a small yogurt! =X

  • Tina T.

With Yogurtland and Golden Spoon in the same plaza, I would hands down pick Golden Spoon but it's the late opening hours that makes me tread over to Yogurtland...anyway! First of all, Golden Spoon literally serves spoons that are painted gold lol I thought that was really cute the first couple times I came here. Second, there's rarely ever a long line but if there are people before you, the servers are very hasty and sweet about it :) I usually get the Mini cup which is the smallest size they offer...and it's Perfect. They will serve the frozen yogurt much more than what the Mini looks like it can hold, so its a delicious surprise in the end. Flavors: Vanilla, Graham Crackers, Coffee, Vanilla, Mint Chocolate, Vanilla. Toppings: Unnecessary. I actually think it ruins their frozen yogurt taste.

You know, the only Fro-Yo place I haven't tried is Red Mango. With that being said I've decided on the hiearchy of Fro-Yo's to my personal taste buds. *Drum Roll please* ... ... ... ... THUMP! Yogurtland is greater than Golden Spoon but is greater than Pinkberry. Maybe I'm not health nut, and perhaps my infatuation with an engross amount of toppings on my yogurt is a necessity. But this place, sure did surprised me. Going here, during a random lunch time rendezvous with Kristine R., I finally decided to give this place a shot, considering Kristine was flabbergasted that I have never been here before. I wasn't too enthusiastic considering frozen yogurt, was all created equally (that is until my tart experience at Pinkberry). I ordered a small (which fricken huge) compared to the mini, no joke. The order consisted of: Cake batter as the main yogurt base Toppings Included: Peanut Butter Chips and Graham Cracker Crust. Yummy in my tummy indeed, and it was a good compliment to the Roast Beef sandwich from Le Diplomate Cafe (forgot the specific name to the order), but nevertheless a wise decision I made that day, a wise one indeed. So why no 5 stars? Only because Yogurtland is better ;). On a side note: Yelp HQ Personnel: ...why can I not use the greater or equal than marquee carrots, I'm aware we can't do any HTML customization but this review would have been uber cool, had I been able to use those specific symbols heh.

REALLY BAD SERVICE. Although I went there a few times during my college life but I have been trying to avoid going to this store in particular because of the service. They have an attitude and don't usually accept coupons that everybody else does.

  • Chris C.

I always come here for the cake batter yogurt. I never bother to put any toppings on it because it tastes great by itself. I've never been too impressed with any of the other flavors here, although I've only tried maybe 3 or 4 different flavors. The mini is always big enough for me, and it's only around $2 so it's a good deal. They have a promotion right now on Mondays where any mini yogurt is only a buck!

  • Ali B.

This place has my yogurt of choice. Above all that I have tried in Irvine... Yogurtland & Cherry on Top. My favorite flavors: Strawberry, vanilla, expresso, pumpkin pie, pistachio, peanut butter cup Comparison... Golden Spoon Yogurtland + price + friendly service - not so friendly - watery yogurt (melts fast in non insulated cups) + creamy yogurt + frequent change in flavors + portion control + make it exactly to your taste

  • Bryan D.

Its a golden spoon, what isn't there to not like? The yogurt tastes damn near the same as ice cream, the spoons are actually golden and there are toppings to make it more rich and delectable. This particular location has dollar mini mondays and a buy one get one free after 6 promotions. It's great! Basically don't go here if you want a "healthy" yogurt

    (4)
  • Amanda F.

This place is probably my favorite Golden Spoon in the area because of the great selection of flavors and toppings. I can always find parking in the nearby lot, and am unashamed to admit that, on occasion, I've snuck yogurt into a movie at the nearby theatre. Yogurt post-gym is also a tried and true favorite of mine - and this location makes that more than possible. Only downside is I didn't hear about the GS punchcard until I visited another location - so make sure to ask the Irvine staff for your card!

  • Hirari N.

I'm still rather confused about their menu, because certain sizes give you a certain amount of toppings but there's about 4 categories of toppings and I'm not sure if that means 2 of each or 2 all together. Their yogurt is great and all, definitely in quality, but being next t Yogurtland and Stricklands I must say that Golden Spoon is the weakest link. It hast the least creative flavors to offer, plus their sizes are really small. I'm not sure how my order of a small around $3 always manages to end up being $5 with just two toppings, and I doubt the tax makes up for that. Their $5 small = 2x $3 Yogurtland = 3x $4 Stricklands. Now remember, this is only two lightly dabbed toppings whereas the other yogurt stores drown it until you can't see the yogurt. Their service is fine though, rather nice but I can see the annoyance in their eyes every time I take a while to decide on what to get.

Just your average fro-yo place. I did like how they offered carob chips :D Usual selection of toppings. For yogurt, we chose mint and chocolate, it tasted alright. Good place to get your fro-yo fix, otherwise nothing special really.

I love this place! I don't know what it is about frozen yogurt that I love so much. It's got the creaminess of ice cream, but without the heaviness of it. Back home in VA we used to have TCBY frozen yogurt shops when I was a kid, but they all disappeared about ten years ago and I've been missing it ever since. Luckily I ended up in California, which is frozen yogurt heaven! It seems like people around here are a little bit obsessed - Golden Spoon, Yogurtland, Pinkberry, etc. But that's just fine with me. In my opinion it's better than Yogurtland, because I'm not really into the fruity flavors. At Golden Spoon I've gotten a few different flavors (vanilla, cake batter, chocolate) and they were all good. I usually get a mini, which is more than enough as a snack and is a great value for the price ($1.75). Like any ice cream or frozen yogurt shop, they have a good variety of toppings. Plus the yogurt is non-fat! Really non-fat, unlike the Seinfeld episode. How can you go wrong?

With the hot summer weather rapidly approaching, this place seems like heaven! I've never been to a golden spoon where I've always liked the flavors they have (I've only tried the toffee, cappuccino, coffee and old fashioned vanilla). The toffee is a little too sweet to my liking but the other three are amazing. Also, if you go on Tuesday, they give you double stamps on your frequent buyer card so its easier to get that free 8 oz. yogurt =)

I really love ice cream. I usually don't complain much, but I think its the service that made this yogurt taste sour. Long story short, not a friendly atmosphere. I guess that's why they were empty an hour before closing.

Came late on a Saturday night. It was totally clean in here. It didn't look like a bunch of scummy people left melted yogurt all over the floor like the one in Newport Beach. Clean, big servings, perfect consistency. Yum!

Worst customer service ever! Ordered a chocolate yogurt with Oreos . Then when I had my first bite , the Oreos were so stale. I asked for my $ back, they told me there is no refunds and all They can do is add more toppings to my same yogurt! I will never go back to this store, I went to yogurt land 20 feet away which was way better. I called my credit card co to do a chargeback, it's not about the $, it's the principal !

Golden Spoon effectively squashes the competition posed by trend-whore yogurt places such as the new Yogurtland that cropped up. This is THE traditional frozen yogurt, the way its supposed to taste without all that b.s. flavorings and toppings. And can you say bang for your buck?! That mini-sized serving is more than enough to satisfy your cravings. Insta-win combo--cake batter/cheesecake + strawberry. Forgo the toppings, you're not going to miss it. Oh, and speak up when ordering, sometimes the staff are a little hard of hearing.

As I sit and look through the glass at the men and women. They smile, they sample some yogurt, pick some toppings, then eat said yogurt with a golden spoon and return to work and life when they have to. I am sick with envy of them. For those on a budget but will splurge on a 50 cent topping... my favorite one topping combo-rooskies are: (1) old fashion vanilla w/mix of fresh and preserved strawberries (2) peanut butter and chocolate chips (3) cake batter and oreo cookies When I'm extra stressed or having a bad day: I also like to jokingly, but not so jokingly ask "can i get just a little bit more topping on that.... just a little.. like just a little bit more... a bit more please... how about a little bit more.. " Golden Spoon so simple, so yummy, so fast - if only everything in life can be ingested with a Golden Spoon it would taste all the more sweeter. :)

Who can resist the Heath bar taste that doesn't get stuck to your teeth? Walkable from UCI and affordable. Really hits the spot if you don't want something heavy like real ice cream.

I sampled coffee, raspberry, and tart mango. All of them were exceptionally tasty. Obviously better than Yogurtland, but the toppings were only okay. I am a mochi addict, so whenever I go to yogurt places, I always get mochi. The mochi here were way too chewy. Orange Tree mango flavored mochi in the bay area are the best.

One of the last remaining yogurt chains from the first generation of the yogurt craze (if you even remember that!) Penguins used to dominated the market, but seems like Golden Spoons survived it all. Their yogurt is the same....kinda like soft serve almost. I'm more of a contemporary yogurt lover and like mine a bit more tart/icy, but this stuff will suffice when none of the others are around. (This is across from UCI and they wont let another froyo place open...so this will have to do in this particular area). (wrote on the account of my yogurt list).....non inspired.

the consistency and flavor of this golden spoon is always effing perfect. they also tend to have the best flavors all the time! i always loved how golden spoon has the creaminess of icecream, but the healthiness of froyo. it usually melts slower than other froyo chains :) this is where i discovered my love for peanut butter froyo. so rich and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. their coffee flavors, tart, cookies and cream, strawberry, coconut, pumpkin pie (seasonal) are always on point too. seriously, they make every flavor good, it just depends on your preference. only downside is that since this is right across from the UCI campus, this golden spoon is pricier than others, but hey for the convenience and because they do everything right, they deserve it. love the frequent buyer card, and double tuesdays! i used to come here so much when i went to UCI, the staff knew me (also had a personal friend that worked there). they were always super friendly and didn't mind me getting samples of diff flavors everytime try a wafflecone w/swirled peanut butter/ coffee. TRUST ME your mouth will be very happy.

G Spoon will always have a place in my heart...I went here all too often 1st and 2nd year at UCI. Basically the froyo that tastes like ice cream with a ton of toppings to choose from. I love the peanut butter and pumpkin frozen yogurts! It wasn't super overpriced, plus they had stampcards if you go a lot. The froyo has a super smooth consistency and tastes like its made with real milk.

And for gluttony at its best, any size larger than a mini is now available for a buy one get one free deal. Bring a friend (and an empty stomach). Is it just me or did the Heath bar flavor mysteriously disappear and was replaced by peanut butter flavored yogurt? Simply tart is also not the best flavor to try...every other Asian yogurt joint can wing it, GS cannot. Sorry guys.

mmm Golden Spoon. Not my favorite froyo, but it's definitely my second favorite. Everything here is good, especially their Pumpkin Pie yogurt! Go right now and get some its delicious and addicting!

Usually I'm a big original tart flavored yogurt person, but I totally heart Golden Spoon's multi flavored yogurt. They have a lot of flavors with appropriate sized servings. I noticed that the cost kinda changes from place to place, but usually you can get a mini for under $2. The best thing about golden spoon is that to-go is so convenient. I usually get a couple minis and leave it in the freezer for a couple days. Anyway, they should make one up in the bay since they only have golden spoons inso cal.

If you were to choose between this and the gelato place in the University Center, definitely go here! The other place is super overpriced. Although the new trend is tart frozen yogurt, it's always nice to have the OG one once in a while. My favorite topping is the crushed up butterfinger pieces. Flavors change everyday.... keeps the excitement of coming here alive.

I thought they had a pretty good variety of flavors. I went with the cake batter with no toppings. It was good - it was just slightly cake battery - not overwhelming. I think next time I'll make sure to get a topping. I felt the mini was just the right size for me. I like how the spoon is golden. I noticed it doesn't have the company name on it - it's just plain.

This is the only yogurt place that doesn't make this lactose-intolerant person miss ice cream. For a former ice cream lover, Golden Spoon is like God came down and said, "Unto you, my Child, I bequeath this Yogurt that is like Ice Cream and call it Golden Spoon."

I really wanted to like Golden Spoon since it was so close to campus when I attended UCI. I think the yogurt has a funny aftertaste though so the first time I went to Golden Spoon was my only time there. Ok-well I think I was there a few more times with people who like the yogurt here but I didn't order anything!

I just wasn't impressed. The selection was only average. The service was lacking. I also felt it was overpriced. If I'm gonna pay that much for frozen yogurt, I want to be wowed.

Best Golden Spoon Location Around!!! The manager is amazing, he trains all the servers very well. They are always polite, friendly and portions are always good. They even have good sales sometimes! Plus the facilities are updated and always immaculate! Yay Golden Spoon. Yum

Great value. Love the yogurt. It is not very inviting to sit inside since they are all booths that look outside, it is too difficult to put a 2 year old on a booth. There are benches outside though. My daughter 4 year old and 2 year old love this place.. everytime we walk by.. they want frozen yogurt!

This location was right across the street from where I used to live so whenever I craved ice cream without all the fat and calories, I would come here and get a peanut butter cup or heath bar yogurt. The small size is pretty big...usually enough for 2 servings. I never had it with any toppings; it tastes good on its own. I wish they had Golden Spoon in Hawaii...Red Mango doesn't have the same variety.

SO much beter than all the other yogurt places around UCI, although it's probably worse for you. At least they have variety and you don't end up gorging on it since it's not self-serve (yes, I count that as a plus). Also the guy who runs it is always pleasant.

Affordable and a nice sweet nonfat way to end lunch! Now if they would only change their flavors more often.....

Recently, Golden Spoon offered coupons in the mail for a Free Mini for up to 2 people, no purchase necessary. Since I'm a total fan of GS I was excited to see these in the mail and decided to take full advantage. This location is the closest to my work so I go here often. But whenever I used the coupons the workers/owner gave me crap about it. Blame your company for making the coupons not me. Toppings are not included. Other than that, I love GS. I always have to pair the chocolate with another one of their delicious flavors. New combo...chocolate with peanut butter cup and oreo toppings. Yum!

I wonder when this place opened, because I don't remember indulging in Golden Spoon until my last year of college. Maybe I just missed it. But, I will always have a certain fondness for this Golden Spoon, it being right across UCI, and the place I went to to buy quarts of the stuff I loved. I never bought any toppings though. I liked that the frozen yogurt was nice and creamy, made me never miss ice cream. Also, they use Splenda, so that would explain the lower calorie count. Plus, they have their calorie information displayed big and clearly. No need to wonder....Eating this stuff was guilt-free...

Too bad this little gem is hidden behind numerous other stores or they'd be as jam packed as Yogurtland usually gets. Their anniversary discount right now is bomb as well! What can get better than a $1 mini? Since coming here, I don't think I'll be making too many trips to Yogurtland anymore
