We come here often because its close by our house and its convenient. However, they really need to tighten up the service on the new gals. Not once did they refill our waters and the second I put down the cash for the bill, one of the girls came over and started stacking our cups. I really wanted a refill.. or at least another sip!! I thought she was bringing it back but nope, she definitely took it away. She could have cleaned up the table before she took the drinks. We were still sitting, enjoying a few last bites! The food is priced fair compared to other places we've been to, its slightly cheaper. I give it 3 stars for the taste. This is the ONLY place I come to where the flavor leaves a weird after-taste until the next morning. TOO much garlic in the broth-- I think.

Been here a few times, not much to write about! Food is ok, service is a lil slow at times! If ordering to go, call first, save time!

The boba drink is good here. About 5 bucks for a large size. When the weather permits it is a nice treat. It was a little empty and staff were not very inviting. They kind of we're doing their own thing. For a place that has just opened kind of expected more smiles and encouragement on the menus. Will definitely grab boba drink again here!

I am slowly coming around more and more on these tea joints, and this place is close to home, so why not see if it passes the smell (or rather taste) test? I am not as big of a connoisseur of bubble tea (or boba as the youths say), so I don't know many flavors. Since I like to keep it simple, I usually just go with any type of coffee cold or hot drink, since it tastes like a Starbucks but costs about half of that. The few times I've been here, it was tasty and wasn't too bitter. I've never had the food, but maybe one day I'll agree to get my hands dirty and sample their seafood. High ceiling inside, and stamp cards are offered, similar to other tea places. Parking not on site so drive around to find one. Downtown Hayward is slowing making its mark, and you can add this place to its list of heavy hitters.

I went here for dinner as a backup place tonight and for a Friday night it was NOT packed at all! I'm very disappointed because it was very unreasonably overpriced, service sucked/the waitresses were rude, and the food was hard. I ordered combo 1 which was 1lb of shrimp, 1lb of mussels, corn, sausages, and potatoes. But they gave me literally one whole potato. Not peeled just steamed and thrown in the bag. Now, with the corn it was very bland. The waitress recommended to get medium because the spice level would be a 7/10 but to me it was actually a 4/10. I should've gone with my true latina roots and gotten spicy! I am for sure not coming back here, no wonder it's never busy. If I was the owner or manager of this resturaunt, I will start making changes. Backyard Bayou in Union City is way tops better.

Ok I don't see what other people are complaining about when it comes to the wait time. It's not fast food and it only took 20 to 30 mins to get our food. Also the staff is very friendly and attentive despite the amount of people that was in this small packed restaurant. Only complaint I honestly have is the group of about 20 people and another group of about 10 people they was serving. These two groups killed the service for us and others. I felt bad for the staff as they were trying their best to keep up with pace. Be patient and you'll have a good experience. And It will be faster if there isn't a lot of people there. Great food as we ordered Crawfish, Shrimp with corn and sausage, and Garlic Noodles. Everything tasted great. Price....it's up there but you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Bubble Crab Cajun only had their boba/snow menu so i ordered what i was gonna order anyways. nothing interests me on the crab menu. one order would be too much and boring for me. drink: almond milk tea (3), less ice, sugar -no boba, came very sweet, nice almond flavoring -felt an afterrtaste after awhile syrup used must have frutose in it. drips: -milk teas ok if one doesn't mind frutose -frequent buyer card given. -questionable return.

We came to this place last night after a movie and was looking for a place still open just before 10:00 PM on a Sunday night. I know the server wanted to slap all 3 of us walking in 10 minutes before closing. She asked if we were ordering for "here or to go". Of course we said we wanted to dine in. She was gracious and seated us as there was only one table of patrons remaining in the restaurant. Everything said, "market price" on the menu she handed us. So we asked for the prices. She pointed out the blackboard with the daily prices and specials. We were sitting at a corner table not in plain view of the board. So we all got up and walked to the board. The crab prices were HIGH. Since this was our first visit, we decided to go with the lb. of shrimp and garlic noodles. That would give us a good idea how the sauce and flavor was for a potential revisit for something more expensive. The garlic noodles were really good. They actually taste pretty close to Thanh Long/Crustacean's. You could taste the fresh garlic. That was a plus. I decided to go with the mild combination sauce. I like heat, but wasn't sure what kind of heat they were working with. So, I tried to play it safe. The sauce was thin and not really tasty to me. It tasted like your standard crab boil. Nothing special. But the presentation was nice. If you've been to Crabaholic, the seasonings and spices in their sauces are MUCH better. This is just to compare. But Crabaholic's garlic noodles aren't nearly as good as this place. So, take your pick. This place also does not give you the option of having the heads and shells on or off the shrimp. They come with the heads and shells on only. So you lazy bones gotta put a little effort into eat your skrimps. Considering we were the only ones there at one point, the service was ok. There was only one server, but she was still slow in checking on us. Our shell container was full and we started to remove the bag ourselves to make room because she was gone so long. The place was decent. But I probably won't be back. There are better Cajun crab boil places.

This is a good place to come if your craving something similar to boiling crab...but their shrimp sauce wasn't flavorful or thick. They don't serve your food in a bag, instead it's in a bowl and I hate how my shrimp wasn't drowned in sauce. The shrimp took 30 minutes to come out and the restaurant wasn't even packed... The Cajun fries were pretty bland...didn't taste hot and crispy. The milk tea was really good and I'm glad they have it combined with a seafood restaurant!! We also got oysters and the sizes were huge, way bigger than boiling crab or rays crab shack! I LOVE IT hahaha finally a place that gives big oysters that's not far from me The service was friendly but overall I just don't like the shrimp sauce. But I would come back for snacks

One of the newest Cajun seafood restaurant. If you like spicy food, you will definitely love their sauce. The serving size is excellent. We were kinda confuse who our server was since different girls are attending to us. Since its new, it doesn't get too crowded. One plus to this place is they have boba drinks. So if you just want a quick cold drink, you can order it for to go.

Yummy ! We tried a shrimp and mussel combo with a basket of fries. Seasoning was pretty good. Portions were decent as well. Good enough to share ! I tried bubble tea for the first time. Very simple vibe. I really enjoyed this place . Will be making the drive to come back :)

I try to be fair so I came here twice before I'm giving this review... First time when I came here, I tried their crab, chicken wing, shrimp, fried calamari, ice milk drink... Crab and shrimp with crabby combo was okay, little salty for me, love the fried chicken wing and calamari, can't go wrong with those, and the ice milk is little sweet for me... The friendly lady who work there asked for our opinion and we told them how we feel, that was when they first open... Two weeks later I come here again, with the recommendation from the super friendly guy who work there, I gave it a try on their garlic butter sauce, I've tried garlic butter from boiling crab and rocking crawfish before and I didn't like it, but surprisingly I love the garlic butter sauce here, they were perfect for me!!! And I also ordered garlic noodle, honey green tea with aloe and hazelnut ice milk, they were both good!!! I'm gonna give them 5 stars!! Cus I'm happy to see this around our neighborhood, and I'm sure they will do better and better with these good food and great customer service!!!

I wanted to like this place but the food was just ok but not a good value for the prices. The shrimp seasoning was good but the don't serve cleaned shrimp. The veins are still in and you can tell the shrimp is frozen. Being in the seafood business is tough and risky because it is very perishable but there should be better attention to quality. I also found that eating off paper plates & plastic utensils very sad. There should be silverware to eat with for those prices! I know the restaurant is new but in order to remain in business the Asian Cajun must be better. Had the "gumbo" and it had no flavor, the rue was terrible, there were no bay shrimp to be found and the rice wasn't up to par. Just a mediocre place at this time. Hopefully they will get better

There are reasons why it's 5 star (to support Hayward with good restaurants like this). It's part of getting our downtown the right attention it needs. Pros: 1. It's their first week and it will be better. They will find their sweet spot. 2. They've added something new which is boba and tea drinks. 3. The seasons aren't bad. They compare to crab shack, backyard bouyon, and rocking crawfish. No one can get close to boiling crab. Cons: 1. They'll need more employees to speed up their service as they become even more busy. There's only 3 people serving, and taking payments. 2. Pricing per lbs is high, but it's what everyone is selling it at. That's what people are willing to pay. Other than that, it's another shrimp Cajun shrimp joint.

Got a chance to try a local crab house & frankly it wasn't bad at all. The place is called Bubble Crab and it recently opened up in OCT. 2014. We love to go to Boiling Crab in San Jose and tried Kicking Crab and this one is just a bit below of the other two.. not too far down but waiting for judgement. We got there when it had just opened for the day & maybe that explains the wait. The place is clean, TV's in place to show the games, and wasn't busy (at least when we arrived). The server gave the menu & we ordered 2 lbs of shrimp with mild sauce & catfish with garlic fries. We waited a good long while.. about 20 minutes to get both orders. Kinda long considering there were only 3 tables occupied when we got there.. but hey, again I said they just opened when we got there. So I'll cut them some slack. The shrimp came in bowls but the sauce was a bit thin. Good flavor for a mild sauce and the shrimps were fairly big with a nice snap to them. I must agree with a previous yelper that the sauce was poured on the shrimps but honestly.. it's no different than Boiling Crab putting the shrimps in the bag with the sauce. The catfish were a good treat. They came as whole fillets so we got 2 of them. Other places serve them in pieces so it looks a lot but I'm sure they'll amount to 2 fillets also. The garlic fries was a plus because they were not coated with garlic powder but fried garlic. So in fairness, I can only give 3 stars since the impression it gave seems promising. The shrimp was good but the sauce was thin.. the catfish altogether was good also. But I couldn't disregard the fact that we waited 20 minutes to get our order with only 3 tables taken. Later on as we were finishing, more people were coming in so this place has potential. We'll go back another time to see if anything is better.

I was going to give this place a chance but by experiencing it myself, I totally agree with all the negative reviews! Then one 5 star review? Obviously Lee J. is 1. A friend of theirs or 2. Was totally paid on the under to leave such a review! Really Bubble Crab? Train your employees before you feed them to the public!!

I have always eaten in, and love it. If you love Boiling Crab then come here and don't wait! It is pretty much exactly the same with no line, and why it loses a star... no decor. Seriously my only complaint is the decor. Otherwise I am darn happy with 3lbs of crab, corn, zucchini sticks for about $90. Granted, I have not ordered To-Go.

There seems to be an ongoing theme for this restaurant. We were here with a large party and the service was detrimentally slow. We waited for our food for over an hour. When part of our order did show up, the food that came out was mediocre at best. The fish and chips looked like it came out of a frozen food aisle bag and dumped into a fryer. I can't even remember the other dish because at this point most of the people in the party were up in arms due to the wait we had to incur and yet little to no foodage. To make the long story short, we canceled the extensive list of the rest of the order and departed making assertions of our displeasure (as nicely as possible). I don't think we'll be patrons at this place again. The End

I won't be back. I've given this place a chance three times. The last time was tonight (2/17/15) because my dad wanted to try it out for his birthday. First time I was actually impressed with the quick service from the young brunette working the floor. She suggested a passion fruit drink which was really good and the garlic crab. When I got the crab I was disappointed because it was swimming in what tasted like cayenne pepper mixed with oil. Not good. I had to send it back to reboil and get all of the stuff off so I could actually taste the crab. Oh, and it wasn't very big either. When they brought it back, they gave it to me with the sauce on the side which worked. In that same order, I bought garlic fries, clam chowder for my daughter and gumbo for myself. Those items were actually really tasty. The second time I waited forever for anyone to even acknowledge I wanted to order simple gumbo and clam chowder. It shouldn't take thirty minutes to order but that's what happened. Third time I decided to try the oysters. They look like cheap oysters you'd get in the freezer section at a grocery store. Worst part is they don't even make an effort to make them appear fresh by putting seasoning on them. They were 80 percent batter and 20 percent oysters at most. After trying one, I ordered gumbo with rice since I knew I wasn't going to eat them. Our server didn't seem to care either. Once I received the gumbo, I realized there was a MAJOR difference in quality from the first time I had it about 3 weeks ago to now. They have put A LOT more big chunks of vegetables like onion and bell pepper in the gumbo and there were maybe 3 salad shrimps and 2 dime sized pieces of chicken. I asked for more rice since the one scoop wasn't enough for me and the waitress told me that it would cost me extra since the gumbo only comes with one scoop of rice. Now keep in mind, I had just ordered gumbo from them 2 weeks prior and asked for extra rice with no added charges or push back about it. And at the end of the day, rice is so cheap. Seriously? Just give me the darn rice. Unfortunately, they did not. So considering that among the decline of service and food quality in such a short period of time, I will not be back. And thanks to platforms like Yelp, I can share my experience in hopes they either get it together or I can save someone else from being their next victim.

I went here on Jan. 27, 2015 to first, ask if they can accommodate a party of 15 on Feb. 1, 2015 around 12:30pm and the answer was yes, so I made the reservation. On Feb. 1st the entire 15 people in the party was on time. Waiter took our orders and after that is when all the problems happened. * Drinks took 15 min & 20 min for others. * Appetizer 30 min & 40 min for others. * Its been 1 hour & 30 min STILL WAITING FOR OUR FOOD (children are waiting too). * Other people with smaller parties (like 3 to 5 people) came after us but ate before my party even seen our food which never came. * WAITED APPROX. 1hr 45min to 2hrs NO FOOD WAS SERVED, SO MY ENTIRE FAMILY WALKED OUT WITHOUT EATING AND STILL PAID FOR OUR DRINKS AND APPETIZERS 4 people ordered appetizers. We will never ever come back to this place!!!!!!

Review is just for boba...haven't eaten here yet. The boba is reasonably priced and is pretty good. I can't remember which flavor milk tea w/ tapioca I got the first time but it was yummy. On our most recent visit we got almond milk tea w/ tapioca. The tapioca balls were softer and chewier the first time, so I was a bit disappointed. Hopefully this was just a fluke. They have snows and slushes as well as milk tea. I felt that the milk tea was the right level of sweetness, but I'm pretty sure they'd let you customize it if you want less sugar. There aren't a lot of good boba places in Hayward so I'll return to this one anytime I'm in the area. Convenient parking lot behind the restaurant and plenty of street parking as well.

What could I say that hasn't been said.. I've unfortunately given this place several chances. Every time I've ordered something to go from them, without a doubt, have screwed up every order. How does that happen every time? When you ask them to correct your order, you'll have to wait another 10 minutes before you get your order back. I also came here once with my boyfriend and friend to sit down and eat. We waited more than 50 minutes for all of our food to come to our table. Some of that food was delivered to the wrong table, and we had to wait even longer for us to get replacements. Apparently this server had did this all night but really? We were 3 people. How do you mess that up? What sucks is the food and drinks are actually quite good. The snacks are delicious and those garlic noodles are amazing. The bubble tea is very sweet and tastes fresh. That's the only reason why I'm giving Bubble Crap any stars (also because I can't give zero stars).

So...customer service here is not on point. I paid $17 + tip for some catfish & fries and a drink. I waited for about 15 minutes, went to the bathroom, waited another 15 minutes and then realized I didn't have time to keep waiting! I stood up and began to walk towards the register to ask how much longer they thought it would be and a woman who was standing right next to the register when I ordered said "hi! Are you waiting for something?" Um.... So they went to the register and looked back in the system or whatever and said I had never ordered. Awesome. They apologized and said they'd either give me my money back or make it right then.. Just kind of irritating. The place wasn't super busy and they were well over-staffed. I don't really see how they could have let my order get paid for and forgotten about so quickly. I'm not saying I'll never go back, but I'm definitely not impressed.

I visited here for the first time me and my nephew. We ordered the garlic noodles, fried shrimp basket, gumbo w/rice and two slushes. The noodles were so good. My nephew really enjoyed his dinner. The shrimp & fry basket was the bomb!!!!! The staff was really nice.

I had to give this place a star to write this review. This place deserves a zero. I ordered my food to go n when I got home my food was over cooked n it was cold. I feel like I have wasted my money. I willn't be back

Contrary to some reviews, I think the pricing is fair and comparable to any other seafood place. My bf and I ordered 2 lbs of shrimp, one spicy and one mild, steamed rice, sausage, chicken wings and Cajun fries to go. Right when we took it out of the bag my bf yelled, "there's no way that's a pound!" We go to Ray's Crab Shack a lot and it did look like these portions were way smaller. Pros: 1. Chicken wings and sausage were good. 2. Spicy was spicy and mild was mild. I hate when you can't actually taste a difference. Cons: 1. Shrimp was too soft, not tender 2. Both the fries and shrimp had a "dirty" aftertaste. It was as if they were boiled/fried in dirty water/oil. 3. Not enough sauce - you can tell they pour the sauce over the shrimp instead of cooking it in it like at Ray's. 4. The sauce was watered down - not nearly thick enough (again comparing to Ray's) Overall it wasn't the best. I won't order take out again but I'll give it another chance and actually dine in. I'm hoping for a better experience next time since Ray's is a drive and Boiling Crab is a drive and a huge wait.

  • Giselle L.

I personally didn't enjoy their shrimp sauce. It tasted very watered down with minimal flavor. All I could taste was the garlic. Their shrimp are pretty big though which was a plus. The drinks were ok. Their fried oysters were small for the price of 9$. It was basically a dollar for each small fried oyster. Usually other Cajun restaurants include fries but you have to buy that separately. I'm giving 3 stars for the service which was good.

Ordered pick-up here for my boyfriend just a couple of nights ago, it was a last minute order and their patience with me was just beyond expectation! I ordered a lb of shrimp with their combo sauce and an order of calamari. The calamari was a little soggy but that's because they ended up sitting in the bag for a little before I finally had them. I threw them back in the oven and had them with the red sauce (it was... Sweet and sour?). They were great! And as far as the shrimps go, I didn't end up having them, but my boyfriend said it was pretty good. Would definitely return again!

I'll give this place a little credit. When you order to go without any food, it's not too slow and the drinks are decent. My advice, order to go. Even then, they might give you the wrong drink size, or pearls in your drink when you asked specifically for none. Sit down, and it's a whole different story. Orders are forgotten, or messed up. One of the waitresses actually told the other waitress "What are you doing!?" when the latter delivered an order to another table. We were there for a while before the food was delivered. I feel bad, honest, for giving two stars. I feel like there is potential and the food isn't bad at all. It's actually tasty. But there are times when what you have to put up with to get to the tasty food is not worth it.

I was really happy to see this place opened. I have been waiting patiently. I was a little disappointed but it has not been a week since they opened on 10/01/14. We went last night on 10/07/14 for dinner. The service ranged depending who you spoke to, unfortunately one of the ladies did not speak english very clearly. The gentleman was great though. At the end of the meal, he asked what we thought and we told him the same as posted here. I think this place has the makings to be good. It is their first week and they probably need to iron out the kinks. We decided we are going to come back in a moth or so and try again before really deciding if we like it or not. The prices are pretty decent, pretty much what you would expect except it did seem that the king crab legs were pretty expensive. We were seated quickly and service was pretty good. We ordered: Melon Slush: Exactly what is expected Thai Ice Tea: Exactly what is expected Chicken Wings: Flavor was really good, would have been nice if they could have made it hotter. When asked if they could make them spicy he said no but brought out some tabasco. This makes me wonder if they are prepackaged or what. Cajun Fries: These were wonderful! Great flavor and seasonings. Clam Chowder: This was wonderful! Great flavor and seasonings. Calamari: This was a hit and miss, some were not cooked all the way so they were rubbery. There was barely any seasonings on it. There was no taste to it, maybe throwing in some of the cajun spice from the fries in the batter would nice. It is served with a sweet chili sauce, we had to ask for cocktail sauce. 1 lb of shrimp w/ Crabby Combo medium seasonings: It did not seem that this was pound of shrimp but we didn't weigh it so we are taking their word for it. The shells were stuck to the meat of the shrimp so peeling was taking forever. When the shells stick like this it is because it was boiled to long or old. They served them in pretty bowls but there was no flavor on the meat unless you dunked it in the sauce again. It is obvious they are not cooked with the sauce. The sauce is thrown on top of the shrimp. 1 lb of clams w/ Crabby Combo medium seasonings: These were not mixed well at all, same issue as the shrimp. No taste what so ever unless dunked and covered in the sauce. The first bite actually made my cousin spit it out because it was all clam flavor no other flavor at all. 1 lb of King Crab legs w/ Crabby Combo medium seasonings: What made me irritated was, we had to ask for crab cracker. Then the shells were soft that the crackers were not working and we had to try to split open the legs. The girls came by to ask how we are and we said it was hard to eat the crab. They said oh ok and walked away. (-_-) Obviously she had no idea what we were talking about. We had to get own boxes because we sat there waiting for them to bring the check and and ask and they kind of just kept walking by us. Then they came and after we boxed it up and I asked for a top for the soup and she took everything to put it in a bag. The gentleman asked what we thought and we told him, I did tell him it would have been nice to have a sea sheller for the crab, my cousin cut her finger on the spiky things trying to get into the crab. He then walked away and came back with one. I told him, maybe he should train the servers to give all the utensils needed when ordering. It would have made the experience way better if we had the crackers and sheller for the crab.

Okay my gf and I have tried this crab house to get our favorite tea which is Taro milk tea. Even more we also tried once fried chicken s a snack. Service was obviously friendly yet their foods were kinda horrible. 1 if you are a Taro lover, do not even try it here. I just saw they put some sugar after they all made tea. And it was still not melted yet. The flavor is like just sugar water. I've tried all taros at bunch of stores yet it's the worst totally 2 No popcorn chicken. Expensive and a lot of horrible pieces of chicken.... Sorry I was excited to have a good restaurant in Hayward but it couldn't satisfy me and my gf

So we were passing through Hayward, saw this place, and we knew that we had to go in...here we go. - like BC...food doesn't come out in bags tho. - new, just opened. - good luck finding parking. - young ladies working seemed nice enough. - some flat screens. So we just ordered 2 bolba drinks...no seafood this time...all I gotta say is that both drinks were way too sweet..no thanks. Will try food next go 'round...that's if we can find parking..deuces.

The atmosphere is nice and open for families. This is more like an over priced fast seafood restaurant. The crab is typical but the sauce is very messy and Better over rice. The appetizers and side dishes are better for the price. Shoestring fries are great

For a place that has the word Cajun in its title, it is very lacking... Standard Cajun staples we absent from the menu like: Étouffée Red Beans & Rice Jambalaya Po-Boys any many more items that I wont mention

My review is for the first week of their opening. Everyone is extremely attentive and friendly. The prices are all "market" and written on a board in the back of the restaurant (easy to see when you walk in). They are a little high for what you get, but the quality is decent. The beverages are bubble/boba tea, soda, beer and wine. I would compare the concept to a Ray's Crab Shack in Newark, although, they need to work on a few things to get to Ray's level. They have a couple of desserts, the fried tofu is a cool idea but I would prefer it to be sweeter. They give you a bib (and I beleive they will have the wet naps soon). The flavoring a little as there were giant raw peices of garlic in the sauce which (even as a garlic lover) were overwhelming in flavor and unpleasant during digestion later. I think the place just needs a little time to work out some kinks and get some feedback and they will be great. We will be checking back with them on a monthly basis and updating the review.

One of my fave Cajun restaurant aside from crawdaddys the food was actually really good and I liked the flavorable sauce! I had it in spicy which was the perfect spice for me. Glad they opened one minutes from my house since most of the best cajun restaurants are all in sj! Would def come back again. Love, ANH PHAM

UGH. I'm a Boiling Crab Faithful, but I have given many places a chance (Cajun House in SF, Kickin Crab in SJ, Backyard Bayou in UC, etc) and they have all impressed me. Bubble Crap, I mean, Crab, on the other hand, was a huge disappointment. Gripes: 1. Hubs ordered the Fish and Chips and it only came with 2 pieces of fish which together is the size of one's palm. It's $12 and I expect more pieces of fish. 2. My 1lb shrimp, crabby combo, spicy, came out dry and comical to be deemed 'spicy.' The Good Stuff: 1. The staff is very polite and attentive. I asked for extra crabby combo sauce so I could pour it all over my shrimp and rice, and they were happy to bring some. +1 star! 2. The garlic noodles are ok and a nice menu item. This place gets A for effort (+1 star), but I will not ever be returning, and I live down the street! As I said, The staff is very kind and helpful, it's not their fault the food sucks.

I love to cook but tonight we decided to go out for dinner. We were just going to see whats open in the new downtown Hayward since we just moved here a month ago. We saw that this place is finally open and we tried it. I ordered the Dungeness Crab and my husband ordered the King Crab legs and both were seasoned with the medium combo spice which was lemon-pepper and garlic butter. I also ordered the corn and a side of steamed rice. I do love the fact that they have bubble teas hence their name - Bubble Crab! PROS: 1. less than 1 mile from our house 2. It's their first month so the place is still clean and service is good and friendly 3. Seasoning is okay but I've had better. Don't serve raw garlic with the sauce! CONS: 1. they need to be careful when delivering the order. I ordered Thai Ice Tea with pearls. first one that came out was leaking from the plastic cup they served it in. Waitress took it back and gave me another one but gave it back to her because it didn't have the pearls. Finally, after the 3rd try, i got what i wanted. 2. They need to provide plastic gloves like Boiling Crab or Ray Crab Shack 3. Their dungeness crab was super expensive!!! $49.95 for a whole crab? Thats highway robbery! 4. They need to cut the crabs and let them soak in the seasoning sauce before serving. This way, they are more flavorful. The customers next to our table were shocked when they received their bill because they didn't think that the crab was going to be so expensive. They need to disclose the prices upfront before taking the order and tell customers that the prices are per lb not per serving.

This review is only for the boba. Got their jasmine milk tea. They don't serve it hot, but they were able to make it hot for me. The tea tasted fresh, more actually tea flavor then milk, just the way I like it. One recommendation I have is for the restaurant to have hot cups so they can offer a hot version of their drinks.

Great customer service & the food is great as well! The calamari is not to hard like other restaurants and also they give good portions! They also have bubble teas!

I really like this place. It has the fast food type atmosphere but was a place you needed to sit down at. The food was delicious. I had the snow crab, mild sauce, garlic fries and oysters. Yes, break out your wallets because it's not cheap but the portions are good sized and worth it. Fast service and I didn't have to wait long for the food. Wear old clothes because it is very messy.

My boyfriend and I originally came to Hayward to eat something else but we smelled some delicious seafood and saw Bubble Crab. We went in and wanted to order crawfish but they were all out for the day so we ended up changing our minds. We were going to leave but I decided to try their dessert drink which was the red bean and sago drink, it was pretty good, it reminded me of Bambu. The employees were very friendly, I just wish they didn't run out of crawfish because everything else on the menu was kind of overpriced like their fries, lol. But I'll come back and check out the crawfish some day.

New place - has some kinks to work out - prices are high for what you get, sides are additional cost - 2.50 for 4 pieces of sausage, 75 cents per potato - everything market price so check board on back wall for prices - Dungeness crab comes whole so your paying for extra weight - Crabby Combo seasoning pretty good but loaded with a lot of big chunks of raw garlic. Clam chowder pretty good and decent size for $6 - King crab not worth the $28 - crawfish ok little under cooked - you defiantly need to order sides or you will leave hungry. Service is very slow so don't go if your on a schedule took at least 30 minutes to get food after ordering. Really would be better if they included a few potatoes and corn on the cob with the entree. Will give sometime to get the kinks out and give them another try

Just okay. Food isn't as good as Boiling Crab, and it's slightly more expensive. The sauces aren't as flavorful, and everything is served in bowls and dishes instead of dumped on your table in a plastic bag like similar establishments. Perhaps it's because the restaurant is so new-- Bubble Crab hasn't been open for more than a couple weeks-- so maybe it'll get better as the kinks are worked out.

This place serves bad seafood! I thought the first time was bad but the second time was even worse! Beware because you will get the sh*ts! Who serves crawfish or shrimp thats mushy?! The shell of the crawfish and shrimp were very soft! Don't waste your money or time!

Come to Bubble Crab Cajun Restaurant if you want some Boba tea and seafood! The only reason why I gave this a 3 is I wish they had Cajun rice, as can be found in other crawfish and crab house restaurants where I have eaten. I ordered rice to eat with my delicious King crab, with the Crabby Combo seasoning, but Cajun rice would have complimented my meal well. My Boba Passion Fruit Green Tea was one of the best I have had in a long time! I would return here with friends and family!

Great food & service! The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the hand wipes were too small to clean up all of the messy goodness! Yumm, can't wait to go again & have crawfish this time... YUM!!!

The food here is bad. My mom ordered the fish and chips and it was burnt, small, and cold! By cold I mean this basket was not served to us hot and it was not busy the day we came. The fish and chips was seriously salty too, like overly salty to the point that we refused to eat it. The shrimp basket I ordered was no better. They should have specified that the shrimp that they were serving in the basket was actually 'butterfly' shrimp because I was expecting normal shell shrimp. The six pieces I got were burned, dry, and overly coated in batter not to mention very small. It tasted plain and salty, like there wasn't the slightest bit of spice added to taste. I feel like most of the basket entrees they serve here were frozen products reheated in the oven. Very poor quality food. The dessert drinks they serve were ok, but we waited way too long for two drinks. We waited maybe ten minutes? We were the only people in the restaurant at the time; there is not excuse for slow service. When we informed the waitress about our food and how poorly made it was she shrugged our complaint off and stated, "well every place has their way of cooking and we have our own." This Bubble Crab place is not worth your money. You're better off spending your money on the Kokyo buffet across the street. I've been there and it is money well spent for good food.

Came here to celebrate a combo birthday (our cousin and our nephew/godson) this past Sunday before Super Bowl. Arrived shortly after 12 noon and advised the staff (which was comprised of two Asian females and one Asian male) that we were part of a large birthday group of about 15-16 people coming in at 12:30. They said, "No problem, we have everything set up." While waiting for the rest of the family to show, my wife and I decided to order a couple of boba drinks for us along with mom & dad. It took our male server somewhere around ten minutes to place the orders in the system; he did mention it was all new to him and needed the help of one of the other staff. There were about two tables that were being served so in total, we waited to what amounted to be twenty minutes for four drinks. Paid and went back to where we were seated. Family began trickling in from 12:30 onward. We advised the male server that each family would be paying separately for their food; he seemed hesitant at first but then conceded and said that it would be fine and to just let him know how it was to be done. We simply told him there would be 3-4 people per family so that it would be easier to keep track of the orders. We took the liberty to put in our order earlier as we were there first (two orders of garlic fries, one small garden salad, one order of calamari, one order chicken strips & fries, one order of fish & chips) and he proceeded to go down the line and write up the orders of each family. By this time, it was already 1:10 and we had literally been there for an hour and still hadn't eaten. Meanwhile, the restaurant started filling up a bit (two or three parties of 2-3 people, one party of 4 people). Our server kept reassuring us that our entire party's orders were in the system and that they would be out shortly and to hold on just a little while longer. As 1:30 came and went, my wife and I noticed that as we were all patiently waiting for our food, the other patrons that had come in way after us were already either indulging in their lunches or boxing up leftovers, paying and leaving. Also, the fact that none of the wait staff had bothered to check on us in quite some time started to leave a bad taste in our mouths. At exactly 2pm, a few of us from the table got up and went directly to the male server and the counter and demanded to know where all our food was and that it shouldn't have taken over an hour or more to get it out from the kitchen to our table. All he could stammer out was, "The orders are entered and should come out shortly." Mind you, we had three young children as well as three diabetic adults that had been waiting a total of 1 1/2 hours for food that didn't seem like it was ever going to come out. By now, we were literally livid at all three wait staff as our group was now the only one in the restaurant and we had yet to get any of the orders we were told that were "coming out shortly". It took every ounce of sheer willpower of everyone there to not shred the Bubble Crab staff to pieces. What's worse is that we still had to pay for the bobas and appetizers; don't you think it made more sense for the restaurant to comp us all of that for the inconvenience of waiting for food that was never going to arrive?!?!?! SERVICE: ONE STAR FOOD: ONE STAR (only because we're not able to leave zero stars) Verdict: I'd rather wait in line at Boiling Crab... (^_^)

This is the absolute worst food!! Grand Opening.....how about Grand Closing!! I am trying to figure out how they have stayed open this long. I went to support downtown Hayward and it was the worst restaurant mistake I have ever made. The catfish tasted spoiled!! The shrimp had no flavor and I had it cooked with 2 flavor seasonings! The garlic noodles lack taste and are just plain oily!! The food came quick but the taste of it!! YUCK!! I never write reviews on yelp! This is my second in 10 years!! That's how bad the food is! I wish I could give it NO STAR!! Then after complaining about the nasty catfish they tried to charge us for it!! The nerve of these folks!!! Don't go to his restaurant....Hayward can do much better than this nasty shack! For God's sake we live in the Bay Area with some of the best restaurants in the USA. Somebody at this place needs to get a clue on food prep, freshness, flavor, and customer service!! Well I think I have said enough.....but in second thought I have just one more thing to say!! Make sure you take some stomache medication if you go this place. They are one step from food poisoning someone!! Now I'm done......YUCK!!!

Waitress was nice. Check on us to make sure every thing was ok. Food was not that good. Crawfish was too dirty and over cook. flavor did not satisfy me. I tried 2 flavor. Their potatoes was not fresh, old and spoil sour. Corn was not fresh. Didn't even eat them. Mussels was not good. The only thing I like was the clams and Garlic noodle. I won't be going back there. It's my personal experiences compare to all the crawfish place I've been too.

Short and sweet: Crabs were horrible. No flavor because they cut the crab after they put in sauce. Crab didn't seem fresh but frozen. My boyfriend did rave about the sausage

Just came home with a pound of shrimp from my first visit to Bubble Crab in Hayward and what a disappointment it was. Every single shrimp was just mush. Meaning they just fell apart in your hands as you peeled them. I admit I am pretty picky about my shrimp as a native Floridian and used to the best of the best Gulf Shrimp. These people need to quit while they are ahead or at the very least learn how to cook shrimp. Mush is not a desirable feature of shrimp in case ya"ll don't know that. I'll stick with Crabaholics.

Parking is difficult for Friday night. Food: The seasoning is edible, but not great. 2 lbs of shrimp for $26 and 2 lbs of crab for $47. $7 garlic noodles and 0.75 each for corn. The grand total was like $105 for two people. We were really full, but both agreed that the seasoning is just okay. Boba: its your quickly/tapex milk tea. its drinkable. This is a girl that doesn't really speak English.....maybe they should train her?

my chicken wings were a little burnt, my noodles came out several minutes after my chicken did. my strawberry green tea was good. they forgot to serve my son his shrimp w/garlic fries and a little after inquiring about the fries they asked if he wanted them to add garlic to his already cold fries that were in front of him.

Came here with a friend last night. The staffs were very helpful and attentive. We got seated right away since there weren't much people there. The pricing here is great. We had ordered Combo #1 with garlic fries on the sides with drinks. Their garlic fries was really good; freshly made. My friend had ordered a bubble tea and she said it was good. The combo consist of: 1lb shrimp,1lb clams, 6 sausages, a corn, potato for 24.99$ I believe. It was a good amount for two people. The sauce wasn't in our tasting though. It was a bit salty. The shrimp tasted a little off... I've eaten at many cajun's house and wanted to try a different spot out. The sauce was lacking flavors and we felt nothing but saltiness. Maybe the chef had a bad day? Not sure, but I'll come back and try their boba tea next time. Everything else was great, besides the sauce and whatever was in the bag.

Went last night for Valentine's Day with my babe. He knew I have been wanting to go here for sometime, so we made a compromise since he is not a seafood lover but loves Cajun shrimp & fries. I love a good clam chowder. Right away we noticed how busy this place was, with a non-stop flow of customers the entire time we were there. So much so, that a small part of our order (my peach milk tea with Boba)slipped the minds of the employee's, even after a friendly reminder by us until we finally just asked for our bill to pay & leave. We understand they have only a few employees and it was a very busy night so no complaints or demands at all from us, we just said thank you, smiled, paid, & went on our way. Honestly though, the Cajun shrimp was plain fried shrimp minus any Cajun seasoning. Our dine in food was served to us in all Styrofoam bowls, cups & plastic utensils (condiments included) How could we not yelp about this? Also, I am so sorry to say this everyone because I was really enjoying the quarter cup of soup I ate last night ~ but we are sick as dogs today, it feels like the flu! I really hope it isn't food poisoning because I want to give them another chance as bad as this review likely sounds (we ate nothing else that it could possibly be to blame for, just in case you were wondering) I hope your experience is by far better than ours. Good luck everyone!

Good sauce but crawfish tastes like rubber. Cajun fries are good but not sweet potatoes fries. Service is good. They dint give us water. We are the only table didn't get water. They saw us without water but the waitresses ignored it.

If the food is half as delicious as the drinks I had, and I'm certain it is, it will be a place I plan on visiting frequently. We tried the pineapple snow and taro bubble tea. I was happy to find that in my snow (more of a milk shake) there was bits of delicious pineapple and in the bubble tea, real taro was used! The flavors were balanced, delicious, and addictive in the right way.

I love love crawdadys, thought I would try something new.. worst choice I have made crawfish over cooked and so rubery.. if you like crawfish flavor bubble gum this place is for you.. the galic noodles were good, crab OK still over cooked....but not worth the money or the calories

The service was really good. The food was actually pretty good too, I had the fish n chips and shrimp and fries basket but the servings were small! Come on man for $12 I to have more pieces of fish. They only gave me 2 and for a place that has Cajun in it I expected Cajun fries! Just a little more food that's all I ask for

I went to this restaurant on Saturday. The customer service is is good but the The crab is overpriced for the size of it. The crab wasn't completely clean. For $45 I was very disappointed. I will not be going to disestablishment anymore

Tried this place. I love Boiling Crab so I wanted to know if there was somewhere closer to compare. It wasn't bad. The flavor was good, I think they need more juice or seasoning to dip the crab in. It was fresh. The corn was just ok. I'd come again, I called in the order but they were nice.

  • Kim P.

Had dinner here last week. Tried the clams. The sauce is more on the salt/peppery side. Medium was not that spicy. Sauce is very thin so not sure how well the taste would stick on the other shell fishes like shrimp, crab and crawfish. I gave a 3 because it's not awful tasting. But it's nothing special either. Too salty for my taste.

This food is THE BOMB! Just got home and broke into the bag. The smell of the garlic sauce is just incredible. Got the mussels and clams in the mild "crabbie combo" sauce and are freakin blown away. This is a food you eat and avoid kissing someone for a while. I'm a vampires worst nightmare right now. The flavor is superb. Staff was very friendly. Louie was our server and did a great job. The boba mango snow was awesome too. Will definitely be going back!!!!

This is NOT A CAJUN RESTAURANT! The garlic noodles were fantastic. However, the menu is definitely not Cajun. I predict this place will be out of business within a year. The "Cajun" fries lacked flavor, and the popcorn chicken had cinnamon in the breading. On top of all of this, they give you way too small of portions for the price tag.

  • A M.

The food here is great!! The shrimp, boba, and noodles are my favorite. Highly recommend to anyone looking for some good Cajun food or just some great boba! They are still new and have to improve the decoration here(something more private since Cajun food is messy and this place is very open) but the food is A-okay!

There is no comparison with the boiling crab at all. I order a pound of shrimp and the flavor was terrible it taste more like dirty water than lemon pepper and garlic. My husband order fish and fries and the fries are more like mcdonalds fries, not bad but i could have get that for less. The service is bad, first of all i could not tell which one was my waitress. We ask to keep the dessert menu for after to order something she took it anyways. Stingy very sting 4 little pieces of lemon, and a tiny tarter sauce we had to ask for it we even had to ask for ketchup, otherwise they wont bring it. Not going back ever again. I would rather drive all the way to the boiling crab
