Since have only been there one time, I can tell you ....The strawberry doughnut is huge, brimming with strawberries that are fresh and sweet, The way they were when you were young. (love to know where he buys them). Impressive. And it is a clean establishment. Friendly employees, too. Since my "brother-in-law" moved to Seal Beach, It is now way out of my way.I live in San Diego county. lol Maybe I will get there again, someday. I can dream. psThe Apple fritters are pretty good too.

After all the hype; NOT disappointed at all. Not too crazy about the fruity ones ( which are their signature trait ), but it's only because I'm crazy about chocolate. Avoid Fridays' - long line. A MUST TRY at least once. BRING CASH!!

I must come back. There were so many delicious looking donuts and sugary delights! This time I tried tiger tail and the strawberry stuffed donut. Fresh strawberries!! Took a bite out of both while in my car and brought the rest home. I can see how there could be a long line. It must smell so good when they are freshly made. 24/7 - I may have to stop by after dinner.

When craving a good donut this is the only place to go! Every donut I have had has been great. On a cold night be sure to wear a jacket as the lines tend to be long and you will be waiting outside, but well worth the wait!

The best strawberry donut I've ever had. . hands down! ! I've been here twice in the past month and I can still taste the delicious, light natural flavor of the strawberries and the fluffy texture of the glaced donut. The line for this places wraps around the corner and I definitely understand why! This place is a must - try for strawberry lovers.. so hurry before strawberry season is over! !

Good donuts with fresh fillings, the wait is always long and the donuts are good. I have had better, but if you Never never had any I recommend you try them.

  • Johnny R.

Is it great and worth all the hype? No. Gotten me and multiple friend sick on multiple occasions. Only good in the early am like 2-3am when fresh batches come out and there is no wait. Certain employees will hook it up. 3 stars 3 for service and fun. None for the quality of the food. The strawberry donuts would be worth it if they weren't so expensive.

ADDICTING!! I have drove by this place for years during my visits to my moms, and have always wondered what's the big deal? Why are people standing outside at 2 am waiting for a donut? Well, I finally caved and stopped in when I drove by at 2 am and saw a small line of folks waiting for donuts. A donut and milk sounded good so I decided to join them. OMG what a good choice! Best donuts ever!! As soon as you walk up you can SMELL the donut aroma. Mmmmm!!! It's fun to watch the guys through the windows making the donuts! If you get there at the right time, you get them served to you RIGHT out of the fryer thing! The Tiger Tails are the bomb! Heck all of the donuts are the bomb. Can't eat just one. CASH ONLY!! Remember this when ya go. They do have an ATM machine on site but every time I visited, it was out of order. :/

This place has been a staple for my family for around 30 years. I remember going as a child with my family to get the very famous strawberry glazed doughnut. The taste has stayed the same 26 years later. This little hole in the wall has grown to be the most popular hub of La verne, Glendora and San Dimas combine together. When you go there at night to meet your friends, or to meet new people, the most important thing is, you enjoy the most mouth watering donuts ever.

I decided to give the donut man a try after reading fellow yelper reviews. WOW this donut shop is the Bomb! The donuts look to good to eat. Huge Chocolate bar, cinnamon twist, and honeybuns. The fresh strawberry glaze filled donut seemed to be a best seller. The fresh apple glaze filled donut wasn't doing bad either. Bavarian filled, lemon filled, lemon and blueberry with cream cheese on top - all yummy. I got one of each. FYI, I heard they sell fresh peach glaze filled donuts in July buy I think it's a seasonal item. Really good stuff. Get your kicks on Route 66 at the Donut Man (sounds corny). Cash Only!!!

Place of the best fluffy and warm donuts in town!!! I cant believe i havent written a review needless to say it doesnt lack one. This by far one of the most popular spots for donut lovers! They are truly a must try!!!

Ehh... I thought this place was OK. Not sure why there was so much hype about Donut Man. Donuts were big and too sweet maybe for my taste. I drove out of the way to try it but I don't think it's worth the drive. It's just donuts with stuff on top. Hehe. I think I'm better off with my usual donut holes for a $1 next door. :)

I live in Glendora and sometimes take this place for granted. One time I went to another city and I told someone I was from Glendora and she said "Oh I went to a great doughnut place there called Donut Man. Have you heard of it?" There is no doubt that this little Donut shop has become famous for its taste and texture. I love going here at night because they are usually making the donuts hot and fresh right in front of you! The long line is definantly worth the wait.

Finally got around to try the hype that is Donut Man and the famously seasonal strawberry donut, and just in time too as I went during the last weekend of the strawberries. The shop itself is a small shack that surrounds with glass windows for passerbys to peer into the sugary enticing breakfast snacks. You might pass by if you weren't looking for it but you will probably notice the line anyways. Oh and the bees. Bees are everywhere, especially inside the place. I'm pretty sure the workers have to grow an immunity to them. As it was my first visit, I ordered a pair of strawberry donuts, 2 tiger tails, a maple bar, blueberry cream cheese frosting donut, and an original glaze. Honestly, the strawberry donut was decent but I don't really understand the following. To me, it was just some strawberries between a regular glaze and syrup, but the thing is that the donut encasing the strawberries gets too soggy. I guess it's just me. The tiger tails though, that's where it's at. Huge 18" tails of long donut rolled between chocolate goodness. I wouldn't mind making a meal out of them, a fatty food-coma-inducing type of cheat meal. The cream cheese donut was more of a dessert rather than a breakfast type of fare but it was still good with the richness of the frosting. The maple bar seemed like a regular one you can find at any donut shop but still good nonetheless; maybe some bacon could add some zing. Being as this was probably my first donut in two years, I would say I was satisfied in giving up my donut fast to this iconic location. Good but a bit overhyped in some areas.

I'm a fan of any gourmet donuts so was very excited to try Donut Man. I was happy to see that their famous strawberry filled donuts were still available and from other reviews it seems they never run out of their popular ones (extremely important if you drive from far away). Take note to go during the correct season if you want their specialty donut: strawberry, pumpkin, peach and peanut butter. Check their fb page to see which ones they're selling! The line moved very efficiently, a lot faster than M&M and California Donuts. There's 2 people taking your order- one that's closer for people that know what they want and another person over near the donuts for those who need to look at the donuts before ordering. Taste wise - the Tiger Tail was the best out of all of them, highly recommend getting this foot long donut. The Bavarian cream filled donut was also delicious (suggested by an employee). The Strawberry donut was okay... the glaze wasn't overpowering however the strawberry compote tasted acidic (too much pectin?) that made it not as appetizing. Maybe I came on an off day. Because of this I definitely want to give Donut Man another try, especially for their other specialty donuts. Hopefully next time it'll be less acidic.

Was out this way and finally tried the donut I've heard so much about. The donuts were great, but the guy kinda screwed up our order in a couple ways. No biggie really, but it's not all that complex of an order; 2 donuts and a coffee... Regardless of the order mishap I'd stop by again if I end up in Glendora again.

I had heard of this place from people's posts on Instagram so I decided to finally check it out. Unfortunately, Glendora is pretty far away from me, so I never wanted to make the drive out here. Luckily, this place is open 24/7, so I waited until traffic died and then came out later in the night. This place is like any typical donut shop with its variety of donuts. However, they are especially known for their fruit donuts. Their fruit donuts are not available all-year round unfortunately; they are only here when they are in season (strawberry & peach season are in the summer). I have tried the strawberry donut twice, the first time in February when they were just starting to have it, and another time in August when it was in peak season. The second time I came, I had intended to try the peach donut, but they were only in season for about a month (early August), and I just missed it. The first time I tried the strawberry donut, the strawberries weren't as sweet, probably because they weren't fully in season yet. However, the strawberry syrup that it's soaked in makes up for the lack of sweetness in the fruit itself. The donut is like any regular glazed donut, except it is cut in half slightly and stuffed with glazed strawberries. This is pretty messy to eat, and pretty sweet, so it's good for the occasional indulgence. I wouldn't say this place is amazing, but it's definitely worth a try at least once.

One word describes this place. FLUFFFFFFY! if you're like me and appreciate a good fluffy perfectly ratio sugar to flour fried goodness, you have to try this place! It was worth the 30 min drive for us at midnight on a friday. The line was a mile long but went by quickly. Lot of high school and college kids hang out in the parking lot eating their freshly made donuts. There's no place to really sit. You can see them making the donuts around the clock unlike other shops where they only bake once in the morning and in the afternoon. Deliciousness that words can't describe! Definitely not a diet food. But worth the calories! It's basically sugar and dough fried in lard and topped with more sugary glaze. But I've never felt this good eating a simple donut where the texture is soft, fluffy and not overly sweet. If you want to splurge your diet on one bad thing, this donut is worth it! The shop looks like a taco stand but there are plenty of employees rolling dough and frying fresh donuts even at midnight. You won't find any stale hard nasty donuts here. Seems like whatever they make quickly gets bought by customers. They are known for their peach and strawberry donuts. The peach was not in season so we got the strawberry. It looked like a donut soup bowl with whole strawberries floating on top. Pretty crazy and big enough to share. The chocolate glaze with Bavarian cream was amazing. Just make the drive out to route 66 in Glendora. I think they are open 24 hrs. My new favorite donut shop

Always get what's just been made! Nothing beats a fresh warm donut even if that was not your original choice. It's not like I order one donut anyways :) Seasonal donuts: Strawberry and peach donuts are a must. Definitely try the blueberry, pumpkin spice or apple cake donuts when available.

I shook hands with the donut man today. Amazing guy. Her deserves a crown. The first man on the planet that combined fresh fruit with amazing American traditional donuts. If you enjoy raisins, be sure to pick up an apple fritter. Best apple fritter I have ever eaten. Very hearty!

What can I add to other reviews? Nothing better than a hot tiger tail. Worth the wait in line.

  • Rceli A.

Pro Tip: Don't wait until evening go early. I know, I know they're open 24 hrs, but peak time is evenings and the lines get ridiculous. If you go at 2am they're out of a lot of things. But if you go in the middle of the day, usually there is very short line and you're back in your car in 5 minutes. So the reason for the lines... the fresh fruit donuts. My personaly favorite is the peach, but peach season is so short so you gotta mark it on your calendars for mid-late summer. Strawberry donuts are from late spring -early summer. I think this is when the liens get the worst. Keep in mid they always have apple donuts year round . Aside from the fresh fruit donuts, I like the french cruller, the Bavarian creme and of course tiger tales. Enjoy!

I went on a Wednesday night around 1015pm with my boyfriend. We were craving something sweet and I've heArd about this place so I decided to try it out. He's been here before but I haven't. I decided to go with their infamous strawberry donut. It was $4 which caught me off hairs since most donuts are less than 2. I saw how monstrously big it was though. It had fresh whole strawberries inside a regular glazed donut. I took a bite, but was not impressed with a the hype. We also shared a tigers tail which wasn't too bad. Overall, it was just an ok experience. I don't plan on rushing back, but at least I could say I gave it a try. P.S. CASH ONLY!

What can I say! Before my family and I moved here from Hawai'i, where there are very delish bakeries and specialty bakeries, we were introduced to The Donut Man from my brother-in-law, Mike, with the infamous "Tiger Tails"! OMG! It was still very warm when he brought some to my in-law's house where we were staying. The aroma of a fresh doughnut, in this case 'donut' with the chocolate and cinnamon running through it filled the air and while pulling it apart was still warm with just the right doughy texture and not dry! It was in the shape of a long twisted donut and lightly glazed. It just melted in our mouths when we ate it and with just the right sweetness. We would go back home to Hawai'i craving this yummy memorable donut; anticipating our next visit to have and could never bring any home as it wouldn't last even getting into the car to head to the airport! Believe me, I tried and it would be gone, eaten by the hubby or the kids! It became a tradition on each visit thereafter that we would have to have "Tiger Tails" or whatever fresh fruit 'in season' filled donut there was to be eaten! It was and still is always delicious, fresh, pretty consistent in flavor, shape and size, and a little pricey (cash only) for the fresh fruit donut. Prices are a little more than the average bakery for donughnuts. We have not tried the other donuts as these are our favorites, so can't say much about it. The fresh 'in season' fruit filled donuts for us would be the strawberries or the peach. Well, we finally made the move to California and yup, we still are visiting the "Donut Man" and waiting in those lines for the "Tiger Tails" and 'in season' fresh fruit filled donuts! It's definitely worth the wait if you ask me...and everyone else in line!!!

I have driven 35 miles... yes, thats right 35 miles for one of the fresh strawberry filled donuts (which are $4.00 CASH ONLY). Yes, they are THAT GOOD!! Honorable mention to the Tiger Tails, and the custard filled, but if you have the strawberry filled one, you have a hard time going back to anything else. Pure awesomeness, even at 35 miles across Metro LA!!

(SINGS): Do YOU KNOW the DONUT MAN THE DONUT MAN THE DONUT MAN DO YOU KNOW THE DONUT MAN THAT WORKS ON Rte 66 ;) Who wants strawberry filled donuts?? It's like a donut sandwich with real strawberries inside. It's very berry-licious. (They even have a peach one) [Seasonal] Ok how about a tiger tail?? Its a longgggggg donut. But let's paint tiger faces before we go. We can hold the donuts to our bottoms and pretend they're tails n wiggle wiggle wiggle....n selfies galore, before we munch munch and become tail-less. ;) Oh baby... we can hold hands and stand in line forever n ever. Cause the lines are long. But, don't worry baby it'll be worth it. The scents of freshly made donuts will tease us. But, we'll indulge together. -private parking/street parking -small hut like donut house -Donuts to go -Service was excellent: dude was very patient...since it was my first time.

Love the seasonal strawberry donut, had the perfect glaze!! The tiger tail was also awesome, pulled apart like the perfect soft donut with hints of chocolate! As for the chocolate donut, it was nothing special..so just stay with the seasonal donuts! BTW, there's always a line but it goes by fast!

I've had this place bookmarked for over a year and finally got to taste some of their famous donuts today, and I was left feeling no thrills and thinking how many people are eating with their eyes and not their mouths. The Donut Man has been a Glendora Landmark for over 40 years. Primarily known for its strawberry, apple or peach stuffed donuts along with their Tiger's Tale it has been featured in numerous food articles and television specials showing these eye popping, jaw dropping donuts. When we got here today there was already a line waiting. I grew anxious and my stomach rumbled in joy knowing that we were going to taste and experience something special. I could see through the glass the donuts that I've seen featured on the Food Network and also numerous foodie articles. I then began to salivate! When we got to the cashier the guy was a little short with me because I claimed that it was my first time. He annoyingly said "just get what everyone else gets which is the strawberry stuffed donut and maybe a Tiger Tale." So I got 2 strawberry stuffed, 1 apple stuffed, a blueberry with cream cheese and a Tiger Tale all for $14 (cash only folks). Seemed a little steep in price for 5 donuts but hey, it's all about the experience. When we got to the car and I got a better look at the fruit donuts they reminded me of pie filling stuffed in a donut. I then started to grow less anxious because I'm not huge on fruit pie stuffing. Upon first bite of the strawberry donut it was exactly that....strawberry pie filling stuffed in a donut. Kind of difficult to eat because the bottom of the donut was falling apart due to all the glaze making it soggy. The flavor of the whole strawberries and glaze overpowered the flavor of the donut. I didn't really taste any donut. I then tried the apple and it was basically apple pie filling as well. A little bit easier to eat because the bottom wasn't as soggy. I could also taste a little more of the donut which tasted pretty good. Next was the blueberry cream cheese which was blueberry pie filling surrounded by dry and hard cream cheese on top of a donut. The donut itself tasted really dry and the family wasn't a big fan. The last one we tried was the Tiger Tale which is basically a long twist donut with chocolate. This one was the best of the bunch to us. It was sweet and flavorful just like a regular twist donut but i didn't taste any chocolate. Look, if you're all about fruit pies, then this place is for you. If you're looking for more of a donut experience, then I would say look elsewhere. No doubt these things look great, but the taste left me feeling flat and disappointed. Go get yo fruit pie on! Cheers!

Donutman doesn't care what yelpers talk about their donuts anymore, they are more than a donut landmark in east LA already. Their strawberry donuts deserve all the hype, I DO crave those mouth watering strawberry packed simple sugar glazed donuts from time to time! But they are still a local donut shop, so the service is at still a small donut shop level. When I talked to someone on the phone, to pre-pack my donuts so I could straight come to the window to pick up, simply this type of phone ordering isn't existed here. Only way to get your donuts here is get there, get in line, and get what you want. They don't give out the receipts so make sure to check your boxes before you pay, even if you find missing donuts after you go home, there's no gurantee you are going to be compensated on your next visit. ( A frugal wife, myself asked for it one more time when I got there, and luckily got refunded for my loss from my last visit) Other donuts are just the same as many other good donut shops around, but the way they make their signature strawberry donuts is just extra ordinary.

I love Donuts and I love being able to back the hype on anything, when something's good it's good but The Donut Man wasn't for me. I've definitely experienced better which is why my rating is 2 STARS. Was it bad? No, maybe not Bad but do I ever need to have them again? No. We stopped off here since we happened to be in the area and of course couldn't let the opportunity pass us by. Very short wait, with only a few people ahead of us. We ordered the most popular Strawberry donut and a Tiger tail and then went with a buttermilk glazed and chocolate frosted chocolate cake donut. I usually love buttermilk glazed donuts, I've even had an unglazed that was awesome before but this one fell way short. Not tasty at all, and really dry. The chocolate frosted chocolate cake donut was also unimpressive. The tiger tail was the best but still nothing to write home about. At this point, I didn't want to try a bite of the strawberry because, well... I don't even really like strawberries - I love berries but my least favorite is a strawberry. By the time we got around to trying this donut it was the next day and of course I didn't care much for it but I don't suppose my opinion would have been any different day one. I'd say skip. I love mom and pop donut shops but The Donut Man didn't win me over in any way whatsoever. If you're curious to try them and there isn't a long wait, fine but absolutely not worth waiting in a line for (just my opinion).

I live nowhere near here. It's a drive that takes over 40 minutes for me to complete and involves 3 different freeways. BUT IT'S SO WORTH IT! So often when you hear the hype about a local hot spot when you finally try it you think "Yeah, that was pretty good." That's not the case with The Donut Man. The Donut Man is great. It deserves all the praise it gets and then some. Those strawberry filled donuts are what dreams are made of. The rest of their offerings are also top notch. The tiger tail and the apple filled made their way into my stomach tonight as well (it's my cheat day). So if your a SoCal native, pack up the car and drive out there. You'll be glad you did. You'll also be glad it's kinda far away because these donuts are dangerously addictive.

Took me a while to get here from my hood. When I finally made it, I immediately ran up to the counter and had to order their famous strawberry filled dount. Wow, omg...I can honestly say that this is the best donut I have ever had. I am not even exaggerating on that statement! Located right on Route 66 in the foothily city of Glendora, The Donut Man has certainly lived up to the hype. Famous for the strawberry filled donut and peach filled donut as well, this place is becoming synonymous with donut lovers all across the city! I myself am a donut addict so it was only fair that I had to come and check this place out for myself. I came on such a hot and steamy afternoon. For only $4, you can enjoy the sweet, yet indulging strawberry donut with its fresh and juicy strawberries! I also had an assorted dozen donuts, which included their famed tiger tails! Wow, their regular donuts are also bigger than your average donut! For only $11, you can enjoy the dozen. You can also pick your own. They also have other varieties of donuts, but the strawberry filled ones are by far their specialty! Cash only here. Parking is small and with limited stalls. There often can be a big line. Hey, can you blame them for having such a long line? When I came, I was lucky to be the only one there. The only perk is that it is a bit of a long drive for me. I love in South Gate, so this place isn't exactly in my neck of the woods! But I am most definitely coming back! Next time, Im just going to have to order a dozen of their strawberry filled donuts. They are THAT GOOD!!

I wake up around 5:15am on a Friday morning and see that my bf wasn't in bed next to me. I knew he was up to something (it was my bday) ..but didn't know exactly what. 6:00am came rolling around and he still wasn't back. I texted him and he said he was on his way home. He surprised me with The Donut Man donuts! :D We've both been wanting to try this place out for quite some time after hearing people rave about the strawberry donuts. He was supposed to be back home before I woke up, buttt things didn't go as planned which was totally okay..it's the thought that counts. Especially since he knows how much I lurve donuts. When he went, there was no line at all..but it was unfortunately cash only. So, he drove down the street which took about 5 minutes..and when he came back..there was a huge line. He was pissed lol. (Info from the bf) Also, the guy who was taking his order was really slow, and he just didn't have good customer service skills. My bf asked for their strawberry donuts, but I guess it's only seasonal..so that was a huge bummer. Peaches I guess are the other popular stuffed donuts..so he got one of those, 2 of these like donuts with jelly on the outside surrounded by this cream cheese frosting..and 1 maple bar. He actually asked for 2..but the guy wasn't listening whatsoever and only gave him one. Peach donut-IMO, peaches and donuts don't go together. The part I liked most was the glazed donut..but the peaches inside, I could definitely do without. Jelly outside donut-I wish the donut was glazed! It was just fried and it had no sweet taste to it. Maybe they did that because the cream cheese frosting was overly sweet? Who knows. It was good, but could get overwhelming instantly. Maple bar-Good. Sunday night my parents told me they saved me some donuts that their neighbor had brought over. It happened to be TDM donuts! They also had an apple filled one and that was MUCH tastier than the peach one. I'll have to give it another shot.

We stopped by this place on our way back from Vegas. We got the strawberry donut, tiger's tail, and a regular chocolate donut. While the strawberry donut was delicious, I don't think I want to spend $4 on it again. It just didn't seem special enough. It's basically a glazed donut cut in half stuffed with sweetened strawberries. Worth trying at least once and deciding for yourself if you'd like to get it again. My boyfriend actually enjoyed the chocolate donut more than the strawberry donut. If we do come here again it'll be to try other donuts. Parking is plentiful in the lot behind. Even if it's full, parking should be available after waiting a few minutes because people just get their donuts and leave. Service is no-nonsense and they try to help you as quickly as possible so they can help the line of people waiting behind you.

My boyfriend has cravings for desert and there we go! He suggested bringing me to The Donut Man which is open 24/7. It's my first time there and I'm thinking in my head..."24/7 donut place? Are the donuts really that good when it is open the whole day?" We arrived at 945pm and there is a long queue. There is around 30 people queuing before us, that's insane. While queuing, it triggers my curiosity even more thinking if it is really that good that people (including me!) are queuing at this time of the night? We bought a box of donuts and here are my reviews: ~ LOVE LOVE LOVE the Tiger Tails...it is not too sweet and donut is freshly baked. Taste warm and soft. I'm not a donut lover but this place manage to impress me. ~ Sugar coated donut is huge and it taste really good! One of the best sugar donuts I've had! ~ Rainbow-colored and chocolate sprinkles donut is not to my liking, too sweet but it's still good.

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Strawberry season is back, ya'll! We made a trip out to LA last weekend to get our taxes done. In the process, we had to make time for The Donut Man! Although it was about an hour out from where we were staying, that wasn't going to deter us from going. Not since we knew they're cranking out their famous strawberry donuts again! When we got there, there was maybe about 3 parking spaces that were open out of 10. By the time we got in line, there were cars circling now for a spot. The line just kept growing and growing. What was super cool was that you can see the employees through the windows and they all had smiles plastered on their faces. They were super nice, courteous, and fast! As soon as we got to the front, we were just drooling all over the place. My husband was so stoked. He was excited not only for the donut, but also for the tiger's tail. We ordered half a dozen strawberry donuts(two each for myself, the husband, and my brother), a tiger's tail, a lemon filled donut, and two milks which came out to be about a little over $30. They don't accept credit cards so bring lots of cash! And let me tell ya, it was worth the wait! It was like a Krispy Kreme donut filled with sweeten strawberry heavenly goodness! This will always be a part of our LA eats itinerary during spring going forward! If you're in Glendora, do yourself a favor and pick up one of these babies, RIGHT NOW!!!

Was kinda sorta in the area so we had to make a stop to the Donut Man. The wife had been wanting to check out this donut shop for a while. After scrolling through the gazillion awesome yelp reviews, I was totally on board. On our afternoon visit there was a moderate line of customers building up. I noticed that the parking lot was on the smaller side but we managed to find a spot. Wife picked up the popular varieties to sample for the first time. The strawberry donut was just gushing freshly cut strawberries everywhere, and it was pretty awesome. I went for the tiger tails which was also great. The size of one donut was like the length of my forearm, the thing was huge! It is definitely not your average twist donut. Wife also tried the lemon filled since she's a huge lemon fan and she said it was also good. So every donut we tried did not disappoint. Awesome donuts all around. Probably a good thing we don't live closer or we would be filling our faces on the daily.

I came here on a weeknight with my friend in the summer and it was super packed. The line went around the building but we decided to wait considering how far we drove just to try these hyped up donuts. We waited about thirty minutes to place our order and we each got the strawberry donut and we shared the tiger tail. My friend got the cinnamon donut as well. The hype was the strawberry donut so we were all excited to try it but I just didn't like it. It was on the pricier side at $3 something compared to the other donuts that were less than a dollar. The strawberry was covered in a sauce that was too gooey for my liking. The tiger tail was also very hyped but in my opinion not that great because you couldn't even taste the chocolate. I really enjoyed the more ordinary donuts like the glaze and cinnamon. They make the donuts so moist and chewy it's super delicious. I suggest going just for their regular donuts because the others aren't really worth it. The service was fast but I felt really rushed. Be sure you know what you want before you get to the ordering window.

Midnight and the line had about a hundred people still, wow. Tiger tail are awesome, strawberry donut $4.00 kinda steep but it was fresh to death and very tasty. I gave it 3 stars instead of 4 because after being in line for more than 30 mins and spending 35 bucks on donuts that i drove 30 mins to get in the middle of the night, you expected the young 21 year boy to be helpful, nice, or just normal. But instead you get a smart ass that acts like he ain't got time to add another 4 dollar donut to their order. It didn't happen to me but an older lady next to me. I was discussed. So kiddo if you can't handle customer service at a donut shop you might be handling a toilet brush better later on. Keep it real don't power trip it's a donut shop kiddo.

I normally wouldn't drive 40 minutes out of my way for a donut, but my friend was going on about how great this place was so we decided to come and check it out. We got to the small stand around midnight and there was a pretty long line of about 15ish people waiting. I decided to go with the Yelp recommendations and got one of the tiger tail and one chocolate donut. I swear to God the tiger tail is probably one of my favorite kinds of donut I have ever eaten. It is completely worth the wait! We got 2 donuts and a coke and only spent about $4 bucks... so not only is it good, but super cheap as well!

Dude. The strawberry donuts here are literally the cat's pajamas. Like the cat doesn't even own any other pajamas at this point. The strawberry donuts are basically a round, glazed donut that is luridly cut open and stuffed with whole glazed, juicy strawberries. I'm normally not a donut fan anyways (my visceral reaction to any donut offers are "no thanks") but these are so good! The donut itself was sweet and chewy. The strawberries add a fresh element that revolutionizes the regular, boring donut. Also, none of the strawberries were sour to me - they were all sweet and juicy! They're kinda pricey ($4) but for something that uses fresh ingredients, I think it's well worth it. Also, I felt completely stuffed after finishing that monster. I recommend that you take a trip up to this donut stand anytime (OPEN 24 HOURS!!) and try them out. Soon though, because it's only offered seasonally.

Since everyone hypes up so much about this place I decided to give it a try since I was in the area. I ordered a strawberry filled and a chocolate custard filled donut Needless to say, they were ok donuts. The strawberry filled donut is literally a glazed donut bread with no hole, cut in half, and filled with strawberries which are glazed with a syrup. Nothing special The custard filled chocolate donut had way too much filling, making it all ooze out of the donut. The chocolate covering was like any other donut. In the end, it's no different than krispy kreem donuts. The lines for the donuts was long as I expected it to be, but the wait for the donuts wasn't much, probably 10 minutes. Each donut is 3-4$ which is in my opinion a bit overpriced for such a common donut. Maybe I'll give them a second chance once they release their peach filled donut, but I doubt I'll be coming back.

SERIOUSLY THE BEST DOUGHNUTS! I mean they truly are fresh and delicious. Of course my favorite is the strawberry doughnut(which is only sold in season!) and the tiger tail. But even there regular doughnuts are good. It's awesome that they are open 24 hours for those late nights when you have a sweet tooth. My only con would be their drink prices. Personally I love some milk to go with my doughnuts and there small milks do not suffice for the price. OTHER than that I love it here.

DONUT DONUT DONUT MAN!!! First time I came here, it was at 2 am after a night of drinking and I have been hooked since. Strawberry Donut - $4 - Fluffy iced donut cut in half stuffed with sugar glazed strawberries! Ahh heavenly bites. Hefty sized donut, after one you are stuffed. The price has gone up each time I have come, but worth it. Tiger Tail - $1.75 - Upgraded thinner glazed twist donut with chocolate stripes, hence the name tiger tail. Pretty big (long) donut. They have all the other types of donuts normal shops have, but we all know the moneymaker is the strawberry donut. For once, a place that actually lives up to all the food channel hype.

I've been trying to come to this place for the longest and I'm glad I finally did. The line was long, but not as bad as I hoped, perhaps because it was at night. Since, I love strawberries, I was looking forward to tasting the strawberry doughnut. The strawberries are fresh and just sweet enough to blend with the warm fluffy dough. I fell in love with it! The tiger tail was delicious as well. I'll be coming back again!

It was good, but not as good as expected. It's a small place with a variety to choose from. I got a strawberry filled doughnut with a tiger tail. It's cash only and for both I spent $5.75 not bad for the price.

After hearing that this place was in the top 10 of the best donuts in southern Cali I had to make a stop. I went on a Sunday and it wasn't packed , I ordered the tiger tail, and to my disappointment they didn't have the strawberry donuts which is why I drove there but they did have the peach donuts so I got two of those. The tiger tail was good and the peach donut was a unique concept and good as well but not great. I will have to return to try the strawberry and see if that changes my rating. Also it's a cash only place so make sure you have cash on you

I couldn't deal with how rude and annoying this one guy with the dog tags working here was. He was pulling this fake accent and being extremely obnoxious for laughs. I came for a donut around 12:30am and couldn't believe the amount of unprofessionalism the night crew here was pulling to entertain themselves. Never coming here again.

I loooooove donut man! My absolute favorite is the strawberry donut, but coming in at a close second is the tiger tail. To be fair, any donut that you pick out from here will be amazing. I've been here really late at night with the line wrapped around the building, so you never know when they're going to be busy. I wish they accepted debit/credit cards. Sometimes I hold back on the amount of donuts I buy because I rarely ever carry cash.

THE ONLY MAN I NEED IN MY LIFE!!!! Donut Man's donuts are not only tasty and mouthwatering, but they're always freshly made. I mean, Donut Man's Strawberry Donut isn't voted "LA's iconic Dish" for nothing. It's filled with fresh giant strawberries (yes, not the small ones you find in regular grocery stores!) Their Tiger Tails are also another staple. With twisted glazed chocolate perfection that's practically as long as my forearm, you can always get them fresh and warm! Another favorite of mine is the apple crumble, although I haven't seen it the last couple of times I went. Fortunately for me, I haven't really encountered a long line like everyone says it has, but maybe that's because I visit at like 1 am. Another plus side is that they have available parking, so you skip the hassle of finding parking on the street :)

I'm allergic to strawberries and peaches are not in season, from what they said... peaches will usually go till September ?? Weird but this place is good. Tigers tail, crulller's, cream cheese doughnut delicious, kids work here.. customer service kinda sucks. They don't want to work on a Sunday they can care less.. it's hot in there.. kinda felt bad for the dude. But it didn't bother me. I only had to deal w them for 4 mins, actually I had to repeat what I wanted grabbing the wrong things. Oh well the stars are for the food and quick line.

Donuts...The epiphany of raised yeast dough, fried to perfection. So many places to go but this one stood out! Well, it didn't help that they were in the media lately. I had to go try it for myself. See what's all the fuss was about! As I approach the little building, there was a huge banner advertising "Famous Fresh Strawberry Donuts". I can't wait to sink my teeth into one of those donuts! Parking is in the back on a dirt lot, some along the side on the asphalt. The line wrapped from the front all the way to the dirt lot. It was insane! Now I really want it even more! CASH ONLY! There's an ATM machine right next to the building for your convenience. Finally! I got my hands on those donuts! The strawberry donuts were huge, bursting with strawberries & glaze. The apple donuts were also bursting out with fillings. Fresh hot Tiger Tails, couldn't resist! Strawberries, Blueberries, & Peach are all seasonal. I may have to come back when they have the other fruits. The donuts are a glazed round donut, sliced part way & stuffed with fresh strawberries that has been tossed in a red (strawberry flavored) gooey glaze. The Donut itself is light & fluffy. You can see the gluten strands as you pull it apart, nicely raised yeast dough. Not too sweet, even with the glaze & strawberries. A nice balance. Make sure you have plenty of napkins because it sure does make a mess! The apples were good but a tad too sweet for my liking. Almost like a Dutch apple pie. Now the Tiger Tails, still warm. Took a bite into it and it was heaven! Very simple, a glazed twist with a chocolate spread intertwined throughout. I will definitely come back to try the other seasonal fruits! Enjoy!

After a night out drinking in Pasadena my friend wanted do nights so we came here. It's a small building almost like a doughnut stand. We bought 1/2 a dozen doughnuts. We had a tiger tail that I've never heard of and it was amazing. Sweet and savory just makes you want more and more. All the doughnuts we bought were great. If your in the area stop by and try their tiger tails, you will not be disappointed.

I totally gobbled down my strawberry donut. It is a drive for my husband and I but totally worth it. I believe it is cash only, and although the line may look long, it goes by pretty fast. They make the donuts fresh constantly, there is a window where you can see them making it. My husband also tried the cinnamon donut holes and they were so good. I would try all of them if I could.

Fresh fluffy donuts stuffed with strawberries...need I say more? I think not! I'm rarely in this area, but any time I'm in Glendora I try to stop by and indulge in a yummy donut with strawberries. And a tiger tail, I'm such a fatty! I'm a sucker for donuts, I just can't resist them! A big plus is that they're open 24/7! So if you ever have a craving for donuts stuffed with strawberries or peaches, depending on the time of year, head on over to Donut Man! Enjoy!

Ahhhh, The Donut Man! After hearing about this place for years, I finally tried it out when I was in the area. I was expecting it to be a decent sized donut shop, so I was pretty surprised when I arrived. This is a small little donut shop with no seats and they don't even have an entrance. You stand outside and order, but at least you're able to see all of the donut selection. The obvious donut to go for was the strawberry filled glazed donut. I know they also have a seasonal peach donut, but they did not have it on the day that I went since they said that the peaches were not up to par. The strawberry filled donuts were pretty delicious! The strawberries were pretty simple, but I was honestly amazed at how simple yet delicious the glazed donut was. The donut was the perfect texture and the glaze was simply amazing! This donut shop is pretty far away from me, but if I'm ever in the area again I will happily stop by here. Next time, I might just get one of the glazed donuts that they offer since it was just that good!

Donuts = life. Donut Man = immortality. The hype is real. I've loved this place since my first tiger tail back in '09. If you don't know what that is, please do yourself a favor and go to Donut Man. Tiger tail - Like a giant glazed twist with ribbons of chocolate throughout. Chocolate covered bavarian cream - MY FAVORITE Seasonal strawberry donuts - *salivating* Sprinkled cake donut - 2nd favorite Triple chocolate cake donut with sprinkles - *heavy breathing* Maple bar - HUGE. SERIOUSLY. And delicious. Chocolate bar - (see description for maple bar) Bear claw - Also huge and delicious. Apple fritter - If you don't like apples I don't recommend this but I thought it was amazing. Donut Man knows how to make great donuts and for a reasonable price. Parking can sometimes be inconvenient when it's busy. Also, it's basically an outdoor stand, not an actual store, so dress appropriately for the weather (I went when it was raining... totally worth it... there was still a line despite the weather).

If I had to eat crow about any of my reviews, it would have to be about this place. I just haven't had a chance to update my review until now. Donut making, like most arts, is quite subjective. Different places have different styles and things that they are known for. Krispy Kreme has their sugar glaze, California Donuts in K-town has cereal, blueberry and green tea. The Donut Man, however, is known for their fruit stuffed pac-man style donuts! They are known for their strawberry and peach stuffed donuts, but they also have great apple stuffed donuts and these chocolate and glazed twist-style donuts called Tiger tails. If you are on a diet of any type, this place isn't the one to go to. Parking is ample, but beware of the lines. I went there last night and there was little to no line. This could be due to the fact that it was a bit on the warmer side and people didn't want to leave their air conditioned homes. More for people like me! haha. Oh, this place is also open 24 hours With it being in Glendora, I wouldn't worry about crime too much.

What, what, what... I've never wrote a review for Donut Man!!! Definitely, need to check this place out. Just be aware that there will probably be a line, a good 15 min wait, bring cash, there is an atm but for a fee and parking is simple. It's next to a gym, ironically. My faves are the tiger tails!

On a morning that I had some time to blow, I drove 18 miles to reach this shop and purchase a dozen donuts for my coworkers and myself. About an hour round trip... this was the extent of my desire to experience these highly raved confectioneries! After reading reviews about the horrid line, I was preparing myself to wait for a while, but to my delight there was no wait at 7am on a weekday. My box of dozen mainly consisted of the strawberry donuts and tiger tails, $4 each. The strawberry donuts were indeed rave-worthy - they are filled abundantly with strawberries covered in this sweet, gooey glaze, surrounded by one of the most soft donuts I've ever bit into. The tiger tails were likewise chewy and soft, twisted with a chocolate glaze. Everything came out warm and fresh, just the way I pictured it. The only thing I'd change about this place is the fact that it's cash only. Ugh..who carries around cash anymore?

Thank you for your strawberry donuts, the Donut Man! At $4 a piece, these strawberry donuts were well worth the price and drive (and calorie!). The glazed donut housing the sweet and plump strawberries was delicious! I really enjoyed the crispy exterior from the glaze and the chewy/light texture of the donut. It wasn't greasy or soggy as expected from the shiny syrup glaze. And moreover, the sweetness was right on point. The generous amount of strawberries makes having this whole donut to yourself not as sinful. You will regret it if you shared. They ran out of tiger tail this time, so i will definitely be back to try it and also enjoy some more plain/strawberry glazed donuts!!

The donuts are pretty good although my expectations were much higher based on the reviews. I liked them but I think I can be just as satisfied at my local donut shop. Overall it's worth to give them a try.

This place has the best strawberry and peach donuts. Their other donuts are pretty standard, but he peach and strawberry donuts are damn good. We usually wait in about a ten minute line, which should tell you right away that the food is good! I very much recommend this place!

These glorious donuts are like manna from heaven. Where shall I start? The moment you enter the donut zone you smell the sweetness of the delicious puffs of love, your mouth starts to water. It's like aquafina in your mouth! You must have a strawberry donut! OOOOHEMMMMMGEEEEE!!! DEEELISH!!!!!! Jump to the other side and grab a chocolate long john. These things are LOOONG. ITS THE REAL DEAL! Then try a twist. Them things will get you twisted and fall in love! PLEASE OPEN A DONUT MAN IN CHICAGO!!!!! Please and thank you. That is all.

I don't really eat donuts but I will for Donut Man! Aside from the STRAWBERRY DONUT I highly recommend getting the TIGER TAIL. ENJOY! PS: The wait could be a bit long, but it's worth it. :)

We had just eaten dinner up the street and was completely stuffed. Yeah I heard so much about the donut man we had to stop and try. It was 6 o'clock in the evening and they already had a line. I say already who knows the line may have been there all day long. The line move quickly it was great to be able to watch them as they make their donuts. This place takes cash only, remember that cash only. They do have an ATM machine there for your convenience. They are known for their tiger tails, strawberry donuts, and fresh peach donuts winning season. We ordered up some foot-long chocolate longjohns, maple bars, fresh strawberry donuts, tiger tails, along with a plethora of other donuts. First time eating here and I will say the donuts were excellent. They were all extremely fresh and unique. We were extremely happy that we waited in the line and were able to experience this nice little treat. If you have never been here it's well worth the trip and the adventure to at least say you have experienced the donut man. Enjoy

I crave this place. I'm not a big donut fan, but the fresh fruit donuts are to die for. The line could get long, but it moves fast and it's well worth the wait. I've been lucky just a handful of times (at 6am, that is). I a leftover snob and refuse to eat day old anything, donuts especially, but I once kept a fresh strawberry donut waiting for my husband in my fridge. It was still delicious.

The boyfriend was craving donut after lunch yesterday. So we went. He got strawberry filling donut. It looks good but I didn't get one. I was full from lunch. I just can't believe it's so expensive. $4 just for donut. Come on now!

Somehow they have managed to infused two of my favorite things in life together: strawberries and donuts. I had my skepticism fearing that it wouldn't live up to my ridiculous expectations, especially when dealing with strawberries. Upon first glance, large quantities are stuffed into the donuts so major points for that. The taste is outrageously delicious. I only bought a few to try (foolish me, I should have bought 100). The strawberries perfectly infused itself with the donut creating a great mixture of fruit and sweets. It was the perfect balance. The downside for me is that the drive is just too far, but the service was extremely friendly and the donuts were excellent. Let me say the strawberries are very fresh too. I might have to consider making the drive again. I did see they sell other types of donuts but why bother when the specialty is the strawberry donuts, although my buddy did say his tiger tail donut was very good. On another note, good thing I read the yelp reviews first and got it that its cash only. Otherwise I would have wasted time and gas making the drive here only to be left empty handed. YES, cash only!!

I just drove an hour through intense rush hour traffic in hopes to purchase a nice big box of doughnuts for national donut day. Line was around the corner, and slowly I see people just leaving. Turns out they advertise 10% off donuts(except strawberry donuts) in honor of national donut day, but all they are selling are the strawberry ones!! I asked the guy who was working there why they don't have anymore donuts, and he tells me they sold out. So then I asked him if they'd be making anymore donuts, and he told me, "it's hard to say." I think I should mention here that this place is a 24 hour establishment. Why wouldn't they make more?? It's 5pm!! I tried to see if the guy would give me 10% off anyways since the strawberry ones were all they had, but he wouldn't give it to me :( And these suckers are $4 each!! on my way out walking towards the back of the shop, I peered in to see what other donuts they were making, and it was just more and more strawberry donuts. Don't advertise 10% donuts and make a exclusion of the strawberry ones, and then decide to make only the strawberry donuts and provide the customers nothing else. What a scam. 5 stars for the strawberry donut, but SUPER upset about today.

seriously! where have you been all my life... I wish I spent more of my time growing up in cali finding places like this to experience. the most unique donuts that were so tasty but yet familiar. glazed crueler was probably my favorite donut hands down I'm sorry strawberry donut but you were third place to me. and coming in second place the Tiger tail! and finally the glazed twist.. lol I had to rank then this would be it.. but still they have some serious donuts. I think im making this place part of my trips when I come out because im totally drooling just writing this review. I can't wait to come back and eat some more yummy goodness. oh btw it's CASH only... and come early because the lines wrap around the building although we were lucky when we came out. probably waited like 10 minutes in line. do not pass this place up there's so many things to try

I am not a huge donut fan so when a friend told me I had to go try this place I wasn't too excited. Boy was I wrong. Lucky for me it was strawberry season. I tried the strawberry donut. It was amazing! Flaky glazed donut that melts in your mouth and plump, juicy strawberries in between. I have never had anything like it. The Tiger Claw was delicious too with chocolate running through it. There were so many donuts to choose from I bought a dozen to bring home. Don't pass this place up its worth the wait!

  • Shannon C.

Honestly, disappointed. I get the novelty aspect of fresh fruit stuffed doughnuts. It's exciting and looks delicious, but "meh" can't express my emotions any more accurately. I've tried a good doughnut before (many) and I can't say the fruit doughnuts or the other regular doughnuts I've ordered were really worth it. The line is long = hype. They are creative -- gotta give 'em that. I love doughnuts -- these aren't very good.

We heard about this place and read the reviews on yelp, So we expected a lot. I honestly can say our family has had a better donuts. They are good but reality is they could not compare to Upland Donuts. Don't believe me get Donut Man then make the trip to Upland Donuts and THEN TASTE TEST it for yourself. We tried raspberry and cream, a chocolate cream filled, a tiger tail, a pumpkin donut, a cinnamon and sugar and a few more. Overall a good donut, but we don't care for the thick super chewy dough and slightly sour tasting dough. We are fans of Light, fluffy and sweet dough. I know there are plenty of fans of donut man and that's great however we tried it, spent a small fortune there and probably won't be back. We will be Upland donut supporters forever. Still haven't found a donut that beats them. Don't like that Donut Man fans? Sorry, truth hurts. Upland Donuts has a strong following too! There should be a donut dual between the shops!

There seems to be a lot of hype around this place when it's strawberry season and I suppose I can see it but it's pretty ridiculous to see a line wrap around the parking lots for donuts at 10 o clock at night. The donuts themselves I found were just alright, they were just well complimented with the fresh, amazing and very generous helpings of strawberries. I've had some of their normal donuts as well and I haven't found them to be remarkably different than most donuts I've had, not that I'm sort of expert of sweets or pastries. Parking lot is pretty small too, but normally it's sufficient for its needs. I think most of their high traffic comes at night, which ironically I would think is the worse time for a craving for donuts. But it's not really my place to judge because most of my times here has been at night with everyone else due to my cravings for a doughnut. I still find myself thinking "I could use a doughnut" and will just drive all the way here (20-30 minute drive) just to get a small box, like I just blacked out and this is just reflex to me now.

The Donut Man... I love this place, however, this evening my cousin and I decided on driving out for some of our favorite donuts. While we stood in line, we had a clear window view of several employees making donuts. We were so excited and couldn't wait. As we stood there, an employee named Jackson (only white guy there) grabbed a fork and repeatedly ate several strawberries directly out of the pan from which they were making donuts. We, including other customers, found this behavior completely disgusting and quite sickening. This guy was obviously raised by people who have no class. What a disappointment.

BEST tasting donuts!!! Their donut mix is not like one i've tasted before, coming from someone whose parent's once owned a donut shop for 15+ years, my parents noticed they don't use the same powder mix like the other shops do. Their donut's are very fine and lightweight. Will be back!!

I live approximately 2 blocks away from The Donut Man and I have always wondered..."Why the line out here everyday"? I am not a big fan of "trending" and I simply chocked it up to a curiosity mode line. Judging from the reviews here the line is from people coming from all around curious about what they have heard about the donuts here at donut man. I am not big on stuffing fruit in anything and prefer my fruit alone and not anything mushy anchored to it Lol. With that said, is it at all possible that when people are eating this beautiful The Dounut Man strawberry or peach donut creation are they truly raving about the "Fruit" its self that they start off enjoying and tossing the mushy part afterwards, or eating it mushy. Has to be mushy and wet by the time they stuff it, shelve it. and someone buys it. Anyways, I did not opt to by the $4.00 hype stuffed fruity pastry because I only eat organic strawberries and peaches due to those being part of what is known as the "dirty dozen." Know one seemed to be able to confirm the type of fruit that was in the donuts. I did opt in on my all time favorites which is the Buttermilk bar which I will take anyway it comes, glazed, maple, or chocolate! However, when I got my first Donut Man buttermilk donut and tasted it with great enthusiasm and excitement, my reaction was..."What Happened"?! The donut was blah. It was plain and without flavor or taste. How could this be Mr. Donut Man?? Probably won of my least favorite in life! I felt that I had tapped in to the perfect sugar free donut shop that would be ideal for those with glucose issues. The reviews here about poor customer service and cleanliness issues were not what I witnessed and I found the cashier to be quite nice to me and very patient. Due to that I think I am now going to go back in and rank Mr. Donut Man at a 4 star instead of the 3 stars I initially gave and go back one more time in attempt to find out if the fruits are organic, try the "Hyped donuts..." and If not... If he can add this option to his menu... To Be Continued.
