Took the wife here on date night. The price was cool, okay variety. Most of the children dishes were dark meat which I'm not a fan of. The stir fry bar was cool, overall not to bad. 50/50 we will go back.

Yikes. If you're looking a "fresh" seafood buffet, you are in the wrong place. Osaka Seafood Buffet is the culinary embodiment of mediocrity. I was cursing myself for even giving this place a try, as their "sushi" selection was perhaps the worst I've ever seen in my life. Todai is a marked improvement, which is hopefully hard to fathom. I would only consider Osaka again if someone else was paying. In-N-Out is just a few footsteps away, and an ocean-of-quality better.

Attended a graduation lunch with my in-laws. It was..mediocre to say the least. Nothing special. Good food though.

Great selection. Enjoyed the experience. The host was really nice. Great view. Would recommend. The parking is an issue though

Okay, I'm not a hater when it comes to inexpensive buffets. I give this place a 4 star rating based on the value. I came in for the lunch buffet with a friend on a weekday and I believe it was no more than $12 a person (pretax and tip). There was a decent-sized selection, and while their Chinese food dishes were kind of bland, I did enjoy their Calamari and Cream Cheese Wontons. Overall, I came here for their sushi. They had a pretty good selection of sushi such as spicy tuna, octopus, tilapia, etc... But what I really came for, and what I called in advance to confirm, was the raw salmon sushi. Oh lawd.. It was delicious. While the first batch didn't have the best cuts, the second batch that I saw come out was pretty fatty and good. The only complaint is that they use way too much rice for the raw salmon sushi, but it's kind of understandable since all-you-can-eat raw salmon sushi for $12 is already a steal deal! Our waiter was extremely nice and always kept our water cups topped off. He had to have refilled our cups at least 5 times, since I drink a lot of water. I loved their huge selections of desserts. I could have done without most of them, but they have like 6 different flavors of ice cream. And I'm not talking about those crappy frozen yogurt dispensers, even though they have that as well, but I'm talking about the buckets of ice cream that you can scoop yourself! When I went, the flavors they had were rainbow, cookies and cream, vanilla, chocolate, my personal favorite, strawberry, and possibly one other flavor that I can't remember as well. All in all, I would come back just to eat AYCE raw salmon sushi (I realize I've said "raw salmon sushi" like 5 times in this review, but I cant emphasize it enough) and the ice cream as a cherry on top. I must have come at a bad time though because the sushi chefs were on break and I didn't get to have my fix of, need I say, raw salmon sushi. 10/10 would eat again

Its a good restaurant buffet. Mostly Asian foods. They have a mongolian bbq service good to have hot food off the grill. Desserts are abundant of course in finger food size to sample. An Ice Cream drums in the back to serve yourself if you don't want to have the ice cream dispenser. Parking is terrible though because next door is In-and-Out.

This place is overpriced for the food quality, tasteless at least for me, service was a 5 on a scale of 1-10, seemed that some of them did not want to work! To be fair I have to say that Asian food is not my favorite, however I've been in much better places!

This place was aweful! We went on a Sunday afternoon and all their food was cold and dry. Several of their foods they were out of. When I asked for something to get lemons with, the guy looked around and said he doesn't know and then suggested I take the lemons with my hands!!! The manager was rude when we told him about the situation and didn't bother to remedy the situation. I am never coming back here again!

Been to this buffet restaurant a couple of times ( I guess bec friends & family thought it is that good). First time was a turn off: servers were pretty abrupt! We haven't even sat down, the server didn't give us chance to take a breath, he already asked us as to what we need to drink. We went after work, at that time they close @ 9pm, it was ~ 8:30sh, they started taking down the food, the desserts included then someone started mopping the floor while guests incl us were still eating ! The restroom is so awful, dirty, untidy Yakky! Succeeding visits (courtesy of family: grads & bdays )were equally disappointing. Next time they invite us for a party, I will courteously pass :0(

People are haters. The sashimi was thick and fresh. The Mongolian dish was full of flavor. The rolls are meh, but it is a buffet. The warm foods are ok too. Not bad for $20 buffet. It does get busy but there's plenty of seating. The sevice could use improvement considering I had to track down someone 2xs just to get refills on my beverages. Also, if it's a hot day, they for some reason did not turn on the air and rather just opened the doors. It's hot & you have fish. Close the doors and use the a/c! Outdoor seating are also available with multiple TV screens.

My husband and I have been eating here for a while now but it was our first time actually having dinner there. The food they served was the same exact thing as their lunch time, maybe a couple of things added but nothing special! The service was horrible for us, no one would even come by our table to check up on us! The check came out to be $47! What the hell kind of price is that? $19.99 for a buffet in Glendale? No way! Not worth it at all!! Not for the kind of "food" they serve.....I don't think my husband and I will be returning here anymore especially for dinner that's for sure!! Waiters and Waitresses please please get it together!

I love this place. If you come here before 3:30 its only $12.00 and the fact that you can have all you can eat Mussels is AMAZING! The sushi is so so but that's cause I only eat the veggie rolls. But for the value its awesome. I don't know why it has such a low rating.

I keeping going back there for lunch. Now my son wants to have graduation there. My mom's birthday my don's end of school celebrations. Dirty. I noticed they had a B on the way out. And if anybody has worked in a restaurant you know it's pretty difficult to get anything less than an A. This place is overpriced! Two adults and one kid for 66$ I love going to asian buffets for the Mongolian style thing and was just disturbed by how dirty a restaurant can actually be. We were there on a Saturday night so no excuse for the food being so old. My suggestion for the owner of the place is go buy a smaller location and lower your prices and keep it clean !

I don't do well at buffets. I suck at them. There might be a whole method behind buffets which I have not mastered. I get full too fast. I take too many breaks. I get bored. There's just too much food. This concludes that I am useless at buffets. Osaka is a huge restaurant offering different types of food: seafood, stir fry, teppan, sushi, sashimi, salads, dessert bar which includes a chocolate fountain and frozen yogurt, soups and pho. Plates, bowls, and utensils were kept stocked ready to use. Plenty of wait staff who were attentitve and ready to take away used plates and refill beverages. It was a warm and humid day when we had lunch here. I don't think their air conditioning was working at it's best capacity. I felt warm and uncomfortable during my entire meal. This left me weary of their sushi sitting there under the light and on top of a plate of ice. So I stayed away from it. The top 3 memorable dishes I had and enjoyed were: seaweed salad, freshly grilled sea bass, and baked scallops. The chocolate fountain was a nice added touch although they didn't have rice krispy treats to dip there. I dipped a marshmallow and a strawberry but the chocolate wasn't that good, tasted old... They also had Thrifty's ice cream which looked like it melted and refroze again. I probably wouldn't come back to Osaka unless for a family party or get together of some sort. Maybe because I'm just useless at buffets. LOL!

Run away from this place. The meat sits under heat lamps too long, the fresh pineapple is brown, and there was green stuff on the tuna sashimi (and it wasn't wasabi). The manager thought a 10% discount would make it right. Sit back and watch people try and find something that doesn't look like it's been sitting forever. The restaurant is rated a B from the health department, and next time I won't ignore the rat traps I saw on the way in.

CHECK YOUR BILL WHEN PAYING. You might be overpaying/overcharged. Went for my father's birthday. Been here before, no problems. We asked for the bill and my mother wanted to use a coupon she had... HOWEVER, when my parents were looking at the bill, things didn't quite add up. So, we went up to the front counter and asked why the total didn't add up. They said that it was the right total since it was done through the computer system. My father SHOWED them the CORRECT calculations on HIS PHONE and a PHYSICAL CALCULATOR THEY HAD. No apologies. No owning up to miscalculation. Nothing. Just faces of frustration and wanting us to pay and leave. They even admitted that their system ROUNDS UP before tax so that customers are charged a bit more than they're suppose to be paying. They refused to acknowledge at any time that we were right and that they were wrong. Even after my father showed them multiple times through his phone and their own physical calculator what the correct amount was. Service: terrible Food: mediocre Manager: didn't even know what was going on or what to say or do. Said something how the workers were Filipino and not Chinese to my mother and that Chinese people would never make calculation errors or provide service that they gave us. What does race have to do with anything? We pointed out that they were wrong and they kept insisting we were wrong and that we had to pay their amount, the amount shown. Never going back there ever again.

Had lunch on a weekday because we got a 10% off coupon. First the good... The service was surprisingly good on this day. Mind you, the servers cleared the tables quickly and replenished our water cups without as much as a smile or a word. But it's the standard for this type of business. Parking was fine if you get there early. The parking tends to get tight due to the In and Out Burger next door. Seating was fast as there was hardly anyone there. Now for the bad even with the coupon. The food was mediocre for the price. It's a fancied up Chinese buffet with some sushi/sashimi items. Although I'm not sure if I would classify "raw Talapia" (yes, that's what the sign said) as sashimi. They also have a Mongolian style grill and a udon "bar". Ended up filling up on Salmon sashimi and their version of the California roll. The Thrifty ice cream and chocolate fountain was the high light even though there was only 4 flavors available. Overall impression, overpriced for the food served. For the money go to Kirin Buffet in Arcadia.

The food here is amazing! When I came here I stuffed myself to the max lol. I came here with my family for the holidays and I have been in love with the place ever since. I want to go back!

This place has cheese food but they have good make your own pastas and a good desert bar their staff is very polite. They don't have much sushi but it's ok of a place

  • Sarah D.

Horrible food, not fresh. One of the plates was clearly dirty and had left over food near the dessert bar. The food lacked any flavor. Even the edamame didn't taste like anything.

Wow. Like other people have stated, the image of this place calls your name. Looks so nice with bright big bold letters, "Osaka", overseeing the 2 and 134 freeways. Unfortunately, I have almost nothing nice to say for the inside of this place. I went with a party of about 15 people and the waiters totally ignored us. Can't say it was our size because across from us was another large party and they had at least 2 waiters with them at all times. We would literally raise our hands and they would look away. Horrible service. I can't help but think it was racially motivated since we're Hispanics and the other party was Asian. Horrible service anyway. The food tasted old, no flavor, nothing near spectacular. I guess it's good if you have a big appetite but don't really care for good tasting food. For two people we paid almost 60 bucks, never coming back again.

  • Alan K.

Although there was a large variety of food, the quality of the food wasn't so great. Fillers are in abundance such as rice, pastas, etc. The unselling point had to be the buffet price. Even for lunch, it was approximately $12 per person during the weekday. The best word to sum up this place is "dirty." I wish I had saved my money to go across the parking lot to the adjacent In-N-Out.

I have to start with the fact I have mixed feelings and couldn't pick a rating, but 3 - it's accurate. Osaka is a beautiful restaurant in a prime location, I came in late on a Sunday evening and there wasn't even a wait for a table - perfect! They have a wide variety of Asian inspired dishes - from a sushi bar, to Chinese food, Korean BBQ and a stir-fry station. So from the perspective of quantity, boom - it's there. On the flip side, though I enjoyed their dessert bar, cucumber salad and the fresh sushi - I found more offput by things than excited by them. The price is what would keep me coming back, that and I have yet to try the stir fry bar.

Love love love this place! Twenty bucks and all you can eat crab legs. What's not to like?

Osaka Seafood Buffet occupies what once was Rusty Pelicans. It's a giant piece of real estate. When we arrived at 11, I wondered at the soundness of such a huge restaurant. By noon, it became clear to me that it's not too large as people started filing in. Years of experience has taught me that I have to be extremely selective in buffets as I can quickly become full on bad to worse food. Osaka Seafood Buffet at once reminded me why I don't like buffets. The food was not fresh. I tasted fishiness in the seaweed salad and white tuna. Some dishes were low grade; and others tasted blatantly terrible. The seafood mix and the fish were good. Service was highly efficient. They're quick to remove dirty plates and provide drinks.

They advertise themselves as a Japanese Seafood Restaurant but once you walk in it's just a Chinese buffet. If I can give this place a negative rate, I would. Food) IT SUCKS. Nothing is fresh, the seafood is disgusting. Sushi? More like a huge roll of rice with a tiny bit of NOT FRESH sushi. Not to mention that the rice is hard and old. The crab legs are so salty you can't even finish one. The food is all old and it's just left there under a heater. Mostly, it is all Chinese food. The food is disgusting and I got sick cause of the raw oysters. Service) EVEN WORSE. When you ask one of the waitresses something, they cut you off and tell you that they are busy. Keep in mind that there are no more than 5 customers in this huge place, and I, as a waitress, am more understanding to restaurants. They gave us the check before we were even done, like telling us to fuck off. The restaurant is dirty, the food is old and disgusting, it tastes artificial and overly poured with msg and salt, and the servers aren't properly trained. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND GO TO IN N OUT RIGHT NEXT TO IT.

I've been to pretty rank places, but nothing compared to this. It was so bad it was funny. *(funny only because I didn't have to pay for it, my poor mom did). Right when you walk in you see a big dining area. It was early 5:30 dinner hour and I saw that like 4 groups of people were there it was a Tuesday so I wasn't that surprised. We were seated in this far back table next to the window that was so dirty it looked like five year olds had just smudged their faces and hands against it. The waiter was just not helpful at all. She barely made eye contact and was rushing like she had somewhere else to be. The (Food) ewww!!! it tasted like nothing but grease and any taste you got was bad! I love sushi but the minute I saw it out there with lamps above it made me lose my appetite. I feel bad for the fish that died to make that shameful ball of rice. Finally dinner was over and as we were walking out, I noticed something I didn't on my way in it: was graded a B by the health department. Well that explains it. My advice is to go to the dang "In and Out" across from it. written by Jaden (12 yrs) -, account owners son : )

What kind of Japanese buffet doesn't serve green tea? O_o Anyways, the food here is all mediocre quality- the sushi is not that fresh, and all the dishes were lukewarm, as if they've been sitting out for hours. The seafood was stringy and chewy. I tasted a little bit of everything and the only thing I really finished was the chow mein and asparagus. Don't bother coming here- it's just a waste of your money...

  • Verej I.

Food is gross here ... Out of all the items on buffer I couldn't find single item that I liked. Most foods are cold and taste awful. Sushi bar is the worst fish on the top of rice looks old and frozen and taste terrible you are better of with In & Out burger cross

I don't know what I paid for. Not worth it. There is nothing to eat here. I ended up with fullfilling myself with strawberries. Go to Vegas buffet or somewhereelse.

FOUND A DEAD CRICKET IN OUR FOOD. We showed the manager, Christo, who basically waived off our complaint by saying, "it's just a bee". The entire table lost their appetite and we were unable to continue eating, but THEY STILL MADE US PAY FULL PRICE for the food. When we threatened to call the Health Department, they gave us a gift card. What good is a gift card to me if I'm never coming back?!?! Mediocre food. Very, VERY bad service.

(Dined 06/17/13 M @ 6:30pm): The choices were endless but the tastes were forgettable! The family met for a post-Father's Day meal at Osaka Seafood Buffet since Dad loved to eat (I learned from one of the best!), and this was my first time, so I was very excited to have finally tried this place. Well, the excitement didn't last too long. My parents and I waited in the lobby for my sister and nieces as we peered into the restaurant and tried to spy on what there was to eat. Once our entire party arrived, we were led down the middle of the restaurant past mostly empty tables but were able to get a scent or two of the food. Once situated in our own little area, we all charged to the food stations. There were a total of five stations that served various morsels on both sides and a wall that had numerous cold desserts and eight different drums of Thrifty's Ice Cream! As in the title, the majority of options were seafood items of all kind, plus dim sum, chicken and beef dishes, sushi, noodles, salads, the list went on. And, so many colorful desserts! So here was how our meals (regular price - $18.99 x 4; seniors price of 10%-off - $17.10 x 2) went: Large Sapporo ($6.25) - What a better way to end a Monday!? yelp.com/user_local_phot… Plate #1 - Sushi, rolls, and dim sum called. I don't know how but the sushi and rolls were rather flavorless so I packed on more wasabi, soy sauce, and ginger. Boy were my eyes about to fall out of my sockets! I enjoyed the few pieces of dim sum I grabbed, especially the sweet rice wrapped in leaves. I grabbed another from my mom's plate. yelp.com/user_local_phot… Plate #2 - The mussels and other shellfish were thoroughly covered with so much crap I couldn't even taste anything else. Plus, they were completely salty my blood pressure spiked. I enjoyed the octopus rings (not too chewy) and pork-filled potstickers (a bit greasy), and the coconut shrimp with pineapple wasn't bad but again was greasy. The BBQ beef was okay. yelp.com/user_local_phot… Plate #3 - Where there's shrimp cocktail, I'm there, but they weren't de-veined. The fish was fresh but again with the salt! The orange chicken was like Panda Express and I think I got remnants of the last batch. The veggies were fresh but cold. And I enjoyed the pineapple fried rice because they'd just put out a new batch. yelp.com/user_local_phot… Plate #4 - I don't know what the heck these are (they reminded me of those things that fell from the trees and I threw at schoolmates in elementary school), but once you peeled back the "skin", revealed was a leechee-type fruit with a big seed. So yummy, we kept going back for more. yelp.com/user_local_phot… Service - Although only half of our party was present, they offered to seat us anyway - which was nice - but we waited for everyone else to show up. They'd just opened for dinner so it was pretty dead. We we eventually seated at the far end of the restaurant but close to the food. They immediately took our drink order, filled our water glasses, and continuously cleared away out empty plates. The only negative was they appeared eager to get us out of the restaurant once they dropped off the bill as servers hovered around us like buzzards as they waited for the carcass to die. A very uncomfortable feeling. Parking - There was plenty of spots in the lot they shared with an In-N-Out, so no concerns here. Otherwise, there was no nearby street parking. Atmosphere, décor, ambience - It reminded me of a lodge with its wood walls and accents, and a cavernous feel although plenty of natural light came through all the surrounding windows. yelp.com/user_local_phot… There were a myriad of tables and chairs, an outdoor patio area (no one was out there), and ample space for people between each food section. Oddly, it was very warm inside and no air circulated. I didn't recall any displays hung on the walls except for the many TVs placed all over the restaurant as each showed something different. Attire - It was totally casual so I would be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, I was truly disappointed with Osaka Seafood Buffet after all the anticipation I had about another buffet in Glendale, and chances were I wouldn't return. I found sub-par value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (total bill was around $126.00 before tip), but simply put, the food wasn't that good in my opinion and I'm not a fan of service that lurked. And although they accepted credit cards, not mine of choice...AMEX!

We chose this place because of its location (right across the street from Glendale Adventist Medical Center) more than any other reason; we stopped in for lunch because one family member was in hospital and we had some time before we could see her. A decent place if you've got a big appetite. The food was okay as nothing stood out as being great but nothing was particularly bad either. Service (which, as it's a buffet, consists of bringing beverages, clearing plates, and bringing us the check at the end of the meal) was a little on the slow side. If you're looking for authentic Asian or Pan-Asian cuisine, keep looking. If you're looking for a serviceable, filling meal close to GAMC hospital, it's a decent choice.

Came here on a Sunday birthday brunch. It was pretty decent for ayce especially since we didn't pay for it. The company was much better than the food. So I will have to go back here another time. The sushi was not the best quality but I like the part they cook things fresh for you.

I am a huge fan of Asian cuisine, and a bigger fan of buffets. My husband and I stopped at Osaka spontaneously because I always noticed it off the freeway and it looked very appealing. Boy was I wrong. My husband and I were very disappointed. They have a great variety of food, but all of the food we tried tasted old and stale, as if it had been sitting there all day. I figured, well you can't go wrong with chow mien and orange chicken, right? Well apparently you can, and it was very disappointing as well...stale and cold. On top of that, there was a foul smell coming from one corner of the restaurant near the desserts....I have no idea what it was. Aaaand, the service was not that great. I will never be going here again, and I do not recommend it to anyone!!

They have REAL ICE CREAM. And short ribs/g(k)albi up the wazoo. U like other Asian buffets which give u nasty frozen yogurt, tastes like crap, melts in a second.. This place gives u REAL ice cream. Anyway, great service, easy sitting, no waits. This is my new go to spot . Worth every cent of the 18.99 dinner. Vegas buffet on brand has a larger selection , but Osaka's quality is noticeably different.. By a long shot. Oh and when you sit, they bring you lobster without asking for it.. Granted its half of one topped with that yummy mayo/cheese, u can ask for mooooaaarr! Anyhow this buffets is the best in Glendale. Hands down. They pay attention to dessert as well .. See the pic.. Real not imitation ice cream

  • Gail C.

This food was awful. The soup was cold, the entree area had cold food that ought to have been warm and the sushi was warm where it should have been cold. Also, they require for their coupon that you buy two sodas, even if you do not drink soda or want to order a beer or wine. Service was delivered with barely passable english. Waste of money, not what I expected.

I went to Osaka Buffet for a friend's birthday dinner. They have a lot of selections for sushi and seafood. My experience was fine but i probably won't be back here unless it's for another gathering. The price was decent and they have a huge parking lot.

Just ate here last night and loved it. All of the food I selected was fresh. The tuna and salmon sashimi had all of its color and was firm. Very happy with the sushi. After the sushi the bbq short ribs were my favorite

I found they have a great variety. I really enjoyed the sushi bar, i did not try the soups or stir fry area. I did find the dim sum dry. They had alot of great hot dishes but when i finished with lunch i look forward to dessert i was disappointed to find the little cakes dry. I will go again cause once in awhile i can't get everything perfect and the staff was very nice and friendly. I did read the other yelps but did not get ill.

July 25, 2014@05:00am Dinner at OSAKA Seafood Buffet on Wednesday, July 24, 2014. Osaka seafood buffet located in Glendale, CA was a very nice experience. This is the third Asian/Japanese themed restaurant that I visited in quite awhile. There was KYOTO on Glen Oaks Blvd. in Glendale which is now CLOSED and out of business. I liked Kyoto when it was open. There is another similar all you can eat buffet on Western Ave. in Hollywood called KING BUFFET. That business is alright but not the best for the money spent on their food. When I was once there, it was not clean. There were flies around and on the food. Also I will add, there was a small female German Cockroach crawling on the table I was eating at. I no longer eat at King Buffet. Osaka buffet is larger with a lot of foods to choose from. Over 100 items. The staff are very clean, friendly, & helpful. The food is presented in a neat appearance. Also, the restaurant was very clean. On the weekends it's very busy and I am sure it gets crowded. When I was eating at Osaka for dinner, it was not too crowded. The cost for my dinner was $22.61 with a $3.00 tip. I'm sure during LUNCH it is cheaper. I felt the price was reasonable. I left satisfied, happy, & full. I have found a good buffet and will be back again for lunch or dinner. Thanks to the staff that I met and also THANKS to CHRISTOPHER that helped me look for the MISO SOUP. He was a sweet guy and we had a very nice conversation before I left to go home. Review from GUY CENNAME of the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles near Griffith Park.

this restaurant is not even worth 1 star. DO NOT go to this restaurant if you don't want to run to the bathroom all day long having major stomach ache, vomitting, and diarrhea. This place is nasty serving unfresh seafood making diners get sick. I called the restaurant to file the problem and let them know so they can improve and serve better food to the people in the future. However, the manager at this restaurant is not ready to improve this place better and just ready to close the business down. First thing he said with his accent was "Go to a doctor. Bring all the documents. We have insurance too. And have legal dept to take care of this." WTF. It shows how much of complaints and problems they have/had been having with the clients and the food poisoning issues. As all the yelpers had reviewed here. DO NOT visit this restaurant. Go somewhere else and i'd rather spend $20 more to get fresh tasting seafood.

We should have listened to the reviews. For $19.95, this place is not worth your money. Mongolian - the raw shrimp was floating in water, chicken/beef were wilted and clamped together. Japanese - California roll and other rolls were dry. Wasabi looks gross. Chinese - Everything looks oily and unappealing. We asked for lobsters (although they don't tell you it is part of the $19.95 - don't do it!!!). The lobster arrived covered with cheese and cream. The actual lobster meat was gray in color and very chewy. Ice cream - they had 5 different kinds, too bad the containers were all empty. I asked 3 different wait staff but they did not refill them. It was only 7pm!

Came here for a birthday. We were seated quickly and the place looked really clean. It is a regular buffet so I can't really say much else. The selection of food varied from grilled meats, udon bar, sushi, basic chinese food, oysters, crab, shrimp, and desserts. The desserts area had a chocolate fondue fountain and a freezer full of different kinds of ice cream. There was also soft serve ice cream. I had no complaints and thought the food was okay.

Oh dear me.... I should have known something was wrong when everyone in the parking lot was migrating towards In-n-Out instead of the restaurant. This place is terrible, the food quality is terrible (think leftover Panda Express), and the service is even worse. When my husband found a live ant wandering around in the food, the waitress said that someone else must have brought it in. No apologies, nothing! And when my brother complained that the soda was flat, the waitress said "oh yea, the machine isn't working, do you not like it?". Who drinks flat soda???

My parents have a strange affinity for this place. I think they come every week. I would just like to throw it out there--it's getting 3 stars because I have never had to pay for my meals here (thanks dad! hehe) but if I had to pay for myself, I would never come here. You be the judge of that. Some pros: They have great, great, great salmon sashimi here. I usually eat like 10 pieces and then I go and eat the mackerel nigiri, and then I eat some seaweed salad. I also like this one dish they have (I think it's called garlic shrimp?) and it has shrimp (obviously) fish balls, zucchini, idk what else because I usually inhale it, but I can eat a plate of that. And sometimes I get a calamari ring. Sometimes I get the coconut shrimp (think honey walnut shrimp without the walnut). They have a new soup station which I think is pretty awesome. I get the udon with shrimp, and with the chicken broth. Of all the broth, the chicken is the least salty. Crab legs are good too, but some people are so selfish and pile ALL Of the fresh ones onto their plates. Like WTF man share! Some mehs: I always want to eat the prime rib but it's always so dry. The bbq meat section is just okay, meh. Everything else is meh...like the already made sushi is alright--I prefer sashimi anyway. The fruit is a gamble--sometimes they have really good cut fruit, other times I think they just cut the rinds of the watermelon and call that fruit, hahaha. One time I got a whole plate of strawberries. Some bad: Some desserts are just plain nasty. Like ew. The ONLY good one there is a coffee mousse cake thing. Plus the chocolate fountain. They have thrifty ice cream but the scooper to scoop it out with is sitting in this gross water the whole time so that usually deters me from ice cream. (I mean, I just use a spoon to get it but still it's gross!) All in all, all you can eat meal for free? I'll take it!

The food is alright that's why they get the one stars. Though the meats should be warmer than they were. Though some of the food didn't taste as it should have. If I was rating on the friendliness of the manager and staff they would get none. Despite having reservations they they told us if we could leave by a specific time due to large parties in the area they sat us in. After being moved around since we were here for a birthday party and had reservations and little less than an hour seemed laughable. We finally got seated. The servers aren't friendly. The day before we had spoken on the phone with the manager about a coupon and to make a reservations they assured us they would take the coupon but obviously now they were denying any conversation took place (we also had the name of the person we spoke to) they brushed us off coldly with the manager snootily saying they had been in business for 25 years and that he never agreed to accept the coupon. In the end they still got well over 110 bucks from us and lost our patronage.

The worst food I have ever had! If I could give a zero here, I would give it. Where can I start - well, here goes a) The Mongolian BBQ area had wilted frozen meat, and the staff mixed up my order with that of another diner - leaving me with all the noodles, and them with my meat b) The heat lamps had managed to suck out any flavor that might have existed in the Korean BBQ, Roast Beef and turned them into cardboard. c) The sushi and sashimi looked so dry and emaciated that we actually felt we could bounce it off our plate d) The chow mein, Fried Rice and other Chinese dishes lacked all flavor and were best avoided e) Perhaps the highlight was the Ice Cream - until we noticed the ice chunks in it f) Lastly, the service was inattentive, and promptly at 9 pm, the entire staff streamed out and began helping themselves to the food. What was most telling was that almost everyone only went for the White Rice, Miso soup and Salad. Maybe we should have done that too !!

Went here on a busy Saturday with some friends to celebrate my godson's baptism. There were about 25 people in our party. We had reservations... We walked in around 1pm and after about a minute or 2 of confusion as to which reservation was ours, we were seated. They put several rectangular (4 person) tables together to accommodate our group. Soon after our drink orders were taken and we were off to do damage at the buffet.... Lemme preface this by saying I have never nor probably will ever be a fan of AYCE food buffets... whether it's asian, brazilian or some other focus. I've just never had the inkling or the craving to seek them out. Osaka is heavy on the asian seafood aspect. The place is pretty big. It occupies the old Minx space and before that, even further back in time was Rusty Pelican... right next to the ever busy In N Out on Harvey Drive in Glendale. It was my first time here so I arrived with an open mind and crossed fingers... and a heavy appetite as this would be my first meal of the day. The anago sushi was good. Anago is my favorite so I was hoping I'd like theirs and I did... Small sized sushi but that's ok. The seaweed salad which my friend Mitzi suggested was excellent. I had seconds & thirds of the stuff. The sauteed green beans were good. The cashew shrimp was decent. The pan fried gyoza was ok. The crab cheese puff was good. The breaded shrimp was good. The salt & pepper calamari rings were not bad. The breaded tofu was ok. The chicken & mushroom dish was ok. The vegetable egg roll was regrettable. The chicken teriyaki was good. The kalbi was real good & flavorful. The salmon in eel sauce was good. Even though I expected it to be warm, it was served cold but I still went back for seconds. The only dessert I got was ice cream & I was surprisingly pleased to find out they served Thrifty ice cream. I went straight for the pistachio... 3 scoops. Boom! Yum! Called it a day after that.... Service was decent considering it was Saturday & it was quite busy. They need to turbocharge their air conditioning cause it was warm inside the restaurant. Almost to the point where you want to fan yourself... They also need to label their signage to the dishes accurately. Some of them were not even remotely close... Osaka wasn't bad. Slightly better than the other asian buffets I've been to.

It's cool. Not the top of the line sushi, but it's good enough for what your paying... It's a big perk that they're open on Christmas day and it's great for groups. Just don't expect American style service. Be patient and enjoy your meal ;)

I take back everything I said on the first post. I don't know what happen in 1 week. A 360 degree turn. Omg it was horrible/nasty. The service was horrible. The food was nasty. My hubby with the iron stomach was sick all night long as well as his nephew. People don't go there. Please.

Drove up to this spot because, well, we figured "why not give a try." Well, here's why not: We walked in and were greeted by a sign stating "Please wait to be seated", so we did. 1 minute, 3 minutes. 5 minutes later we saw and employee making a beeline to the bathroom, picking his teeth and avoiding eye contact. I asked him if we seat ourselves to which he looked at a table full of employees who looked to be in the middle of a tweet-a-thon, they scrambled and one came to finally play hostess. Moving on, we are finally introduced to our table by the manner lacking waitress who's personality resembled that of dinner napkin. Let's move on to the food. For a (roughly) $20 per person meal, we could have had more flavor and texture from gravel. Let's break it down for quick reference: - Bland - Over cooked - Re-fried chicken (tasted the grease) - Chewy sushi meats - Terribly soggy dumplings with little to no filling - I ordered an iced tea but if I had to be disappointed by another thing in that place I would have committed suicide, so I didn't risk my life and passed on tasting it. It's now 20 minutes to close and the manager (who I assumed to be the manager mainly because he is the only English speaking person there. Oh! And he wore a tie) came up to us and asked if he could give us the check, like we were going to say "no". We happily say yes and pay. Now, at this point we think the disappointment lotto drawing was done defining our future. We were wrong, they ask us if we want any more food, in unison we say "no!" And not a single hesitant fuck was given before the workers began cleaning up what sounded like left over spears and shields from an Ancient Greek battle. All in all, this was just another fail for this location. Sadly nothing has survived here because, well I don't know. But this place needs to go so Glendale can give another minority dream a chance. Please.....Hurry.

I'll give 4 out of 5 stars. Minus 1 star for the quality of the sushi rice and the taste of the food being average. Other than that I had a great experience in this place. The choices are a lot. You've got Japanese, Chinese and western food available here. They have a chocolate fountain and plenty of desert. The place also has a Mongolian Bbq cooking station and a soup station aside from the Chinese soups. They also have the boiled crab legs, baked lobsters, and oysters with sauce. Typically you only see one of these in a buffet here in Los Angeles. They also have a paper napkin dispenser in each table, which is a plus for me. I rarely see that in buffet restaurants. The staff are attentive. I got my drinks full all the time and my table clean of dirty plates. The parking was plentiful and the total ambiance is upscale. I recommend going to this place.

Save your money!! I live right around the corner and have wanted to try this place. After reading the reviews I was reluctant. Seems that some of the reviews are decent however, so I decided to give it a shot tonight. Big mistake. The service is terrible. Took forever to get seated because the host was talking to the staff. The waitress, we had three, were all awful. Not a friendly or inviting environment at all. The food is less than mediocre. The only decent food in that place is the mongolian grill section, but still I was very hesitant. We didn't eat much and paid a high price of $20each for dinner. This place is definitely not worth spending your money on. I hope I don't get sick....

Asian buffet, slightly more expansive than lets say a Todai buffet. Went to my jobs luncheon and enjoyed it but I feel like the experience could be brought up just a bit with a bit of tidying up around the place. The choices were definitely there but I saw a few areas the staff could do to be a little bit more diligent and outgoing. Other than that I would go again for a luncheon. But maybe not on my own.

It's near, it's comfortable, clean and offer a great selection of Japanese/ Asian food. They have a good buffet of sushi, and I love the bbq grill which offers you Korean kalbi, chicken bbq and fish bbq. All good. My soda was always refilled without me asking for a refill.

This is a typical Asian buffet. The service was adequate. Not as bad as some of the previous reviews posted. We got exactly what we paid for. Dinner and 2 beers cost$57.20. The best part was the chocolate fountain and Thrifty ice cream!

They got the good stuff... I was excited when I first arrived. Shark fin soup, fresh oyster, sashimi, crab legs and mongolian bbq... BUT I wasn't impressed with the quality. For $22 I expect either more variety or quality in the "good stuff" Service was really bad too.

Fukk this place. Arrived 20 minutes till 4 pm, today Friday 05/29/15 which is still their lunch hour and they wanted to charge me for dinner, $5 more per person. Claiming that the dinner food is already out. That is not my problem as I had no clue what their lunch and dinner hours are until I got there. Left the place without even eating because the management thinks they are smarter then you.

My trip to Osaka was pretty much as expected: large quantities of food, average quality, and average taste. At $19.99 a person, the price for the Saturday buffet is more than I would have expected given the taste and quality, but overall I'd still rate it a three-star experience. Osaka featured a pretty large variety of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese food. There's dim sum (which I didn't notice until it was too late and I was already full), sushi, Korean short ribs, teriyaki chicken, chicken skewers, choose-your-own stir fry and soup (seafood, miso, chicken and maybe beef broths available), typical Chinese offerings like chow mein and beef with broccoli, crab, as well as a dessert station. Figuring that the fish wouldn't be of the best quality, I avoided the sushi altogether. I also avoided the very greasy-looking Chinese dishes, as well as the super greasy lobster that was brought to our table (one per person). It had a weird color and did not look appetizing at all. My fiancé tried it and said it was very greasy. The short ribs and chicken skewers weren't bad; the flavor was decent and both were pretty tender. I also got a bowl of miso soup and liked all the vegetable offerings (spinach, onions, mushrooms, etc.). They also have meat and seafood to add to the soup or stir fry. The seaweed salad was tasty too. I did try the sesame ball as part of my dessert; it wasn't bad but wasn't great either. The red bean filling wasn't particularly generous. I didn't try dessert but they had yogurt and ice cream as well as fruit and a chocolate fountain. We arrived at 12:30 and were seated right away. Service was prompt and the waiters were courteous. Overall the experience was fine but I probably wouldn't return unless someone else wanted to go. I'd rather pay $20 and get something really delicious than spend that amount on average tasting food.

This place used to be 'The Pelican' a few years ago, it just recently became Osaka Seafood Buffet. This is my first time at this restaurant. The ambiance is very good to classy, the food selection is decent; I was expecting more Japanese food just because of the name, but the selection looked more like a Chinese buffet. The sushi bar has a nice selection, but I was expecting more. The fried calamari looked great and I was going to load up on it but it was way too salty - that was just too sad, I did not go for seconds. All the other items I sampled tasted good, I did not have a chance to try all of it; I was in a hurry to get ready for work. The desert was fairly good, no complaints here. I gave it a three stars only because I was disappointed with the food selection, I hope they include more Japanese dishes.

Before we came for an early dinner my hubby called to ask abt their lobster. But they did'nt told him that it's not part of the buffet. They will only serve 1 pc per person.????After knowing it, i did'nt mind then that time, when this 2 elderly suddenly gave us their plate with the 2 lobsters in it bec.they're allergic to lobsters, their are this 2 waiters seems wondering and talking in their own dialect and pointing our table where in they are only 5 feet away, seems wondering how come i have another plate of lobster. So i became angry and feel insulted so i told the guy waiter that the table near us gave it and he arrogantly ask and confirm the lady waitress if she's the one who gave it.im not sure if he can understand english...Oh my!Im not a beggar for food.I really got angry. The waiter is really rude and no respect and hes not apoliigetic at all.He thought i ask it from another waiter. He committed a mistake but still he feels like he did nothing wrong, treating the costumer as if we're lying abt.it ...tsk!tsk!Never come back here...Horrible food and poor costumer service.

Asian Waitress with the hair tied and curly ponytail is so rude. My friend asked for a glass of hot water cause she's sick and the lady had the nastiest face from the time she asked till the time she gave the glass of hot water and after. Honestly I was scared cause she looked super pissed and like she wanted to hurt us. It was scary. On top of that the sushi quality is not the best.

Not your Typical Asian buffet with the same food you see at all of them. They do have the added feature of a Mongolian BBQ which was very good also the coconut shrimp was outstanding. The food is very good here and you have more sushi choices. The servers are very quick to take away your empty plate and when you are seated they bring you a a small lobster split in half with a sauce on it at the start. I don't think they speak English hear or there are very few that do, just a lot of nods and smiles. Just don't ask your server any questions and enjoy the food.

Food was okay. My boyfriend and I made it just in time before lunch was over at 3:30. We arrived at 2:40 and asked if we made it for lunch, the hostess said yes, and sat us down. We began to eat, the food was mostly left overs, and you can tell it was not fresh, and has been sitting there for hours. Before 3:30 hit the waiter brought our bill. The bill should have been around $24 or so. Instead it was $42, we questioned the waiter telling her the hostess said we made it in time and she got the manager and she manager said we are charged for dinner time because my boyfriend ate crab legs that were put out at 3:00. If they were for dinner they shouldn't have been put out at the end of lunch time. I didn't eat any crab legs but still got charged for dinner and we told the manager so she came back with the bill charging me for lunch time and my boyfriend for dinner. Seems pretty unfair to be charged for dinner because the food wasn't even fresh, and it's not like there was a sign in the crab legs saying DINNER ONLY. the bill ended up being around $30ish. Now the thing is, money is not the problem. But we came for lunch time and we ate non fresh food, and was charged for dinner for eating a dinner item put out lunch time. We did not get what we paid for. Not only that, the manager was very rude, pushy, and gave attitude. Will not be returning here. Vegas buffet in Glendale has much more variety and friendly staff

Food is very mediocre, but in abundance. If you want great food stay away, not very healthy, self serve. But I gave it 3 stars because it is what you would expect from this type of restaurant. I never would come here, but had a dental meeting here. So if you like quantity over quality this restaurant is great.

Aside from the wide selection of sushi, this place was okay. It's your typical Japanese buffet with typical choices. The set up of the buffet is rather odd for making your way around because they are set up in aisles each with three sides. Not the most ergonomic set-up for a buffet if you ask me. The baked scallops were pretty good, but that's about it. Now for my parking rant. I came here for a birthday party on a Saturday afternoon, and the parking situation was BYFAR the worst that I have experienced. I had to circle the lot at least half an hour to find a space, and after those 30 minutes, I STILL did not find a space. It was only until employees came out and saw the same 10 cars circling the lot did they allow parking along their red loading curb (which I somewhat appreciated, but it really shouldn't come down to parking along a red curb. Seriously, it's red for a reason!). That whole situation spoiled my mood. Anyways, the lobster was cooked improperly and very tough. The whole ice cream area looked poorly maintained, as there were no bowls there. The cover to the freezer was left wide open for all the germs to enter and the ice cream to melt. I don't think I'll be coming back here.

This restaurant ran out of food because of "gas leak". We waited for 30 minutes and still no food. And basically all the trays were EMPTY!!! All we were eating are sushis!

Why did they name their restaurant ----Osaka? It gives a bad rap to Japanese restaurants. Anyway, this eatery is mostly Chinese with sub-par Sushi and a touch of Sashimi (just the fish, no rice). I tried the "red snapper" sashimi both the regular and the spicy version, but the texture of the red snapper was tough and rubbery. It had no IKI which in Japanese Sushi terminology means having a freshness, vitality, and subtle yet rich flavours. From the texture and the flavour, I can't believe this was red snapper. Maybe it was Tilapia? This was the tip off that I should lay off of the Sushi. I went to the cooked food section and got their Chinese food such as Orange Chicken, Beef & Asparagus, char siu style pork rib, pseudo Teriyaki style pork, etc. Initially they were all good and tasty, but after eating them, I had a lingering strong garlicky, funky taste in my mouth that lasted for hours. I'm a fan of garlic, but the overpowering taste of Allium sativum that lasted for over 8 hours and burping up of garlic taste made me give this restaurant a 1 star rating. Weekday lunch buffet is $11.95. Although it is far away, the China Buffet in Torrance is similar in genre to Osaka, but the Chinese side of the food is definitely better. However, I will not vouch for the Sushi that is also included since I never tasted any of it. (For the ultimate in Sushi/Sashimi, Mako Sushi in Little Tokyo will educate one's palate to what is really the sine qua non of good eating. .)

Selection and freshness is better than most Chinese/japanese/korean buffets. Attentive servers. Recommend the coconut & pineapple ice cream, baked shrimp, fruits, some sushi and baked lobster (brought to each table)!

I came here for a friend's Baptism reception. They do have a fairly large selection of food from bbq meats, sushi, Chinese food, dim sum and dessert. The food is decent with quite a bit of msg but I wouldn't come back unless there's a party I've been invited to.

Went here on Wednesday on a recommendation from a local in Glendale. The place isn't bad, but isn't great either (if I wanted sushi, I'd rather go to Tokoro's in Pasadena). They did have cocktail shrimp already peeled, and their salt and pepper shrimp wasn't overcooked (so they were actually peelable). I did try a few of their sushi options, most were flavorless minus a little spice in their spicy tuna. I did like that they had some cucumber wrapped spicy tuna, but it was still--flavorless. They offered snapper sashimi, which was fishy but at least kept at a cold temperature. There was a little too much rice and not enough fish on their nigiri (the octopus I saw seemed to be sliced paper thin!!). Their garlic shrimp/calamari was good, as was their mushroom and chicken and baked mussels. I did not try the other dishes (such as the dimsum) but everyone seemed satisfied with their foods. I did get a giant plate of fruit (which was fresh) and some of their banana cream pie which was quite decent. They offer a Sephra chocolate fountain and a whole freeze full of self-scoop ice cream as well as soft-serve. For $11.99 on a weekday it is not badly priced, you should be able to find something you like (for myself, lots of shrimp). The service was kind of slow removing our empty plates... but overall, I'd go again on a weekday to go on another shrimping binge.

Avoid this place, run for cover, run! Regardless though, some helpful quick tips! 1. The parking lot is pretty big. The parking area is shared with a quite busy In 'n Out! We found parking not to be a problem though on Sunday around 11:45. 2. The restaurant is pretty big by itself with plenty of outdoor seating. I don't know about dinner, but the traffic in the restaurant was pretty light for lunch on a Sunday. 3. Careful about the ice cream. If the ice cream tastes "sandy" or has a weird consistency to it, then the ice cream has gone bad. The burning/sandy sensation is freezer burn. 4. The buffet's offerings are in an "L" shape. There is more food just down the way, including a place where they make made to order noodles with beef and veggies on request. I should have listened to my fellow Yelpers. Run for cover. RUN. This place is terrible. I love buffets, and I understand what I'm getting into when I go to these kinds of places. The food is mediocre to good, but the real value lies in the choices. But there is a problem, when the food is not mediocre and it's plain terrible and the choices are not widely varied. I was excited about this place because it looked like a good sushi buffet due to pictures on Yelp. The venue itself is really big. It was the location of a lounge and Asian fusion restaurant at some point. Anyways, there were plenty of seats to be had when we arrived and we were seated quickly. I was happy that they were able to move us since my dad has a bum leg and he hasn't been able to get around so easily these last few weeks. Anyways, the real horror began after we ate our first plate of food. Like I said, the food I was looking forward to was the sushi. I picked two of every roll that they had and a sampling of their nigiri. At first glance, the nigiri seemed a little... over the edge. The fish was a little bit greying and the salmon seemed to be discolored. I tried to ignore this and just try to eat my big plate of sushi anyway. The nigiri was relatively hard and rubbery. The rolls were an incredible disappointment. Some of the rolls seemed to be using canned tuna as the inside rather than raw tuna minced up properly. Furthermore, several of the rolls had a bitter taste to it. I am aware that there are types of fish that taste a bit bitter, but if I recall correctly, even at Chinese buffets, they serve those kinds of fish whole. The sushi was a general disappointment. The stir fry and sautee section was weak with the best being the black pepper beef and the mayo shrimp. Even then, the breading on the mayo shrimp was VERY thick. Some of the other dishes would barely pass for food due to how long they were kept under heat lamps. For example, the sauteed green beans were limp and disgusting. One of the things that they also managed to mess up were pot stickers. They were more like dough medallions that were fried to a limp, oily mess with warm pork like filling in it. Besides the stir fry and sautee, they also offered various dim sum. These seem to be the standard stuff at most buffets. Basically, they serve up bags of frozen weichuan style buns that you could buy in most Asian super market frozen food sections. They also offered a cold salad/cocktail shrimp section, but I didn't really make it to their before I decided to stop eating. I did, however, try out their lobster and "grill" section. From the grill, I tried the short ribs, some Chinese style ribs, and a lobster. The lobster was tough, chewy, and incredibly fishy. The ribs were an oily mess. In fact, they gave off a thick, greyish oily residue on my plate. The Chinese style ribs, though looking as though they had been glazed to perfection, were bland and disappointing. Last but not least, dessert. Initially, I was impressed that they have Thrifty's ice cream. That stuff is pretty much a nostalgic treat for me. Anyways, the dessert offerings were pretty standard of a Chinese buffet. They even had a chocolate fountain reminiscent of Zen. In the ice cream case, the flavors were pretty varied. They had rainbow sherbert, bubble gum, Neapolitan, strawberry, and "red flavor." The former four were fine, but the last mystery red flavor was pretty weird. First off, the ice cream was sandy tasting and my impression was that it was supposed to be some sort of graham cracker like ice cream. Then the burning on my tongue happened. Apparently, "Red Flavor" was SO old that it had developed freezer burn, AKA it's gone bad. A final note on the service. It was not great, but it wasn't terrible. Several times, the waitress would come by look at our table filled with plates and leave. Most of the time though, if we asked them to do something they would handle it in a reasonable time. What a terrible excuse for a buffet, please go find somewhere else to eat. The price tag is definitely not worth the food.

The first time I went. I'm very impress. On the fort old gay obviously good acting sent us to the waitress. My husband order beer for me I'm order hot sake. My husband got beer I have to wait about twenty minutes to get a hot sake. Food just okay. For price a little bit high. I ask the crackers for crabs. We're waiting more 20 minutes. And the only one we can get. Okay we can share it. I have to go to the restroom. OMG the restroom smells very bad and dirty I have to run out. I met one lady on outside. She was asked for paper towels. And I ask for air fresher. I got back to the table and check bill. I feel sorry about this restaurant. Very poor service. I don't think I'll go back. But I have to tell my friends and family. We're paid $70. Because we're got two large of beer and one large of hot sake. We're done. We're regret to stop by. Thank anyway.

First time was yesterday with a buddy. Very clean and the service was great! The food was displayed at all the right temperatures so I went to town! Seafood was great, I had a lot of mussels and shrimp! My 3rd and 4th plates were sushi. No soups me!!! I paid for this meal within 2 HOURS..... A bad case of food poisoning..explosive decompression!

agree with most of the posts. the variety was everything we looked for. but it was such a shame when it came to the quality of the food. i wanted to like it. the place was clean the price wasnt too horrible and the atmosphere was nice. it was fun to try a little of everything but again i cant even pick out one thing that i would honestly recommend for someone else to try.

If I could describe this place in four words here they are: the SHITTEST place ever. Food completely drowning in grease and cancer causing/ artery clogging oil and fat, absolutely terrible service, waiters with rude and condescending attitudes. The teppan grill is decent, the chocolate fountain is good, and the melted and kinda gross ice cream is the best thing out of the entire buffet. After we received the check, the manager writes on the check "you must pay $25 dollar tip for a large party" at buffets it is not neccesary to pay tip because it's self service. Of course it's polite to give tip if your waiter is a decent person but not here. Don't ever come here, you won't regret it.

I recently had dinner at Osaka a few weeks ago for my uncle's birthday. Buffets aren't my thing since eating in bulk were the bad habbits of years past. Plus, I'm always weary of seafood at these places. I've heard some rumblings about this place and people getting sick from the sushi. Anyways, there were about 60 people in for my uncles party which was accomodated by 1/4 of the restaurant. The food was abundant but I stayed away from sushi and rolls. I even stayed away from the shrimp and crab. Crab was served steamed just the way Asians prefer. Looked good though but a lot of work cracking and getting smelly hands. I did go for the hibachi dishes. I walked up and noticed there was only 1/2 a piece of short ribs left. Just as I was going to walk away, the cook dumped a whole new batch of short rib and I dived for it filling half my plate. The other items that were pretty good were the sweet honey fillet mignon cubes, and pineapple conconut shrimp. The only good thing for dessert was Thrifty ice cream! Self serve and scoop your own. It's a work out scooping your own since the ice cream is solid. There was also a chocolate fountain which I didn't try. All the other desserts weren't appealing. Actually, looked cheap and not worth trying. Other than that, service was horrible. Plates stacked on the table as waiters just ignored. Unless you asked for a refill, they didn't make an effort to check up on you. Parking gets full fast here and get here early around 6 pm for dinner before the crowds show up.

I've been to both Glendale and Rowland Heights Osaka Seafood Buffet. Rowland Height Osaka is way better than Glendale. The lobster was not high level quality, and the foods overall are not so satisfying compared to the price. The good foods were shrimp gratan, salmon sashimi, thrifty ice cream and chocolate fountain. But everything else were just ordinary. You don't have to go to Glendale one. But I recommend Rowland Height Osaka.

I eat here with my friends all the time because we got big appetites and its close to home. The sushi is pretty good although it doesn't always taste fresh. Im not a big fan of the rolls either, their tempura roll is soggy smh However they do have good coconut shrimp and you can also order some tasty lobster during dinner hours. The service is not as bad as people say, at least i never had bad service and i've been going often. Overall its not the best but its definitely not the worst seafood buffet. I prefer hokkaido in burbank or vegas buffet in glendale. But if you are close by, hungry, and craving sushi you cant go wrong here.

My mom always tells me if I don't have anything good to say just don't say anything at all...well...The city Osaka looks very good but I'm not here to talk about that city in Japan so here we go... Osaka Seafood Buffet is an interesting place, it is huge! Nice well polished counters, layout and architecture...but then again, I'm not here to talk about that either... The food selection is like a line up of glimmering well lit deliciousness, it's like an endless parade divided into two sections starting from the specialty barbecue grilled meat area all the way up to the dessert, "yogurt" and ice cream counter. When in buffets, I usually start with a shrimp cocktail before indulging and diving into the abyss of calorie indulgence but to my dismay the shrimp tasted as bad as it looked - abysmal...this crustacean really flunked big time which I could only assume as a victim of freezer burn. So I moved on and proceed to just having my dinner, the cheese encrusted scallops were very good as well as the oysters in a half shell drizzled with green onions and plum sauce. The steak & pepper dish as lovely as it looked was disappointing, I just can't get over the amount of grease the meat was submerged in and this goes with the pineapple shrimp as well, did someone drop the brick of butter in the pan? (Is that you Paula Deen?) I tried a lot of stuff in the line-up and made it into a personal tasting, The sushi rolls were good and surprisingly the salmon sashimi as well. I've had good luck with their sushi rolls section, all were decent some even worth getting a 2nd and 3rd helping. (Tempura shrimp rolls *wink* the sauce on top is amazing!) The deep fried crabs, chicken in broccoli and Calamari are among the serious tastebuds offenders of the night with the Calamari as the worst as I literally had to spit it out because of its funky texture and taste - nothing worst than a deep fried frozen defrosted freezer burned food...so sad. I asked myself a few times tonight whether to give a 1 star or what you see right now, since some of the selections were good & palatable not to mention the super polite and friendly Osaka staff, I personally think they deserve a bump instead of just one (I'm such a sucker for good service..lol) Would I be back at this buffet spot? Probably not, OR It will probably be due to a family member/relative celebrating something treating us out here (Oh lordie!!). If it was just me, I'll walk across the parking lot and get an In-N-Out. By the way, I think the management should re-think moving their smoking area away from the front entrance, I have no probs with people smoking but I saw a few folks with their kids looking pretty unhappy going in the restaurant. This way you could have the best of both worlds without your customers giving another customer the evil eye. Just something to think about. Arigato!

The food here is another typical Asian buffet. What sticks out to me here is they have dim sum (could use more variety though) and self-serve ice cream. One of my go-to places.

I would first like to mention the smell you pass to reach the door, it was awful like an open sewage drain I would have probable barfed if my stomach was not empty. I wanted to turn around but my husband said he did not smell anything and gently urged me on. I am sure he was just hungry. I was expecting the worst after the smell was pleasantly surprised at the end. Maybe they read the reviews and decided to change, because this has to be one of the best buffets in California that I have gone too. We had a business meeting in the area so it was a Tuesday and not really busy. The make your own soup station was a hit for me, I love soup so to be able to be to make my own seafood soup was a big treat for me. Second stop the sushi bar, made on the spot they had a pretty good selection of freshly made sushi if you ask me in fact I had two plates full. The eel, salmon and hand rolls were ok for buffet at least it was fresh. The seaweed was good too. I enjoyed the crab legs and steamed oysters the coconut fried shrimp had a great flavor paired with fried plantain and white rice. I enjoyed all my food it was hot and seasoned well. I top it off with a lemon pie that was good and the tiramisu cake was off the chain. The restaurant was spacious and clean restrooms were clean and modern. The service is what it is in buffet I was not expecting 5 star service, but our server was very attentive and kept filling up our hot water filled with lemons. They all smiled and were nice except when we were leaving two of the staffs in the front were arguing and did not wish us a bye bye. I covered my nose and ran by the stinking area as to not ruin my dinner.

Love me some buffet! Osaka is an excellent buffet restaurant for sushi roll lovers. There's a great variety of rolls (about 7-8, a whole big section dedicated to rolls only). Although it lacked my oh-so-favorite crab legs, you've got your standard seafood entrees that won't disappoint. I was a little disappointed with their dessert section (felt pretty limited), but the chocolate fountain kind of made up for it. Then again, the chocolate fountain kind of got old after realizing there lacked a good variety of fruits.

I rate restaurant based on my expectation depending on the price they charge. we went to Osaka Seafood Buffet on a sunday, it was a nice restaurant, it was my first time there, service was ok. selection of foos was plentiful. i took and posted pictures of the food they have on a sunday.. a few of the hot Meat are kinda Dry (Chicken Wing, chinese Spareribs and Prime Roast) if you go to dinner there, you will automatically get one half lobstail Tail, they limit it to one per diner,

With a huge selection to choose from, I did plenty of trying a little of this, and a little of that. In most cases, it was fair to good, nothing great. It was very clean, and the service was attentive. Good for groups, good for kids, and free parking. Highlight: a nice outdoor patio with heatlamps. Overall, the food is not bad, so I'd go back...with perhaps a little hesitation and a lot less expectation. A few of things worth noting, that others have mentioned for months (and they continue to be a problem): 1. Incorrect or missing labels: The labels for the sushi were not accurate or not labeled at all. When I mentioned to the manager the incorrect labels, he quickly said "Middle of changing" and took them down. I figured he was going to put up the correct ones. Nope, just sushi with no labels from that point forward. 2. Sushi and sashimi was nicely presented, and wide selection. While I had a few good bites but mostly just okay ones. Normally elsewhere it's my favorite, but I did not like the tuna sashimi at all (not soft, it was tough). Granted, it's a buffet not made to order, but absolutely not fresh enough for my liking. 3. The 6-8 flavors of hard-packed ice cream is left for diners to self-serve, but glass doors were left completely open. With all the staff nearby, I closed it myself when I noticed it. And, I found it unappetizing as it was melting.

If you come here on weekend, it's dinner price all day. For the prices that you're paying, it is just a value deal "Sushi/ Japanese/ Chinese/ BBQ" buffet. It's good if you want to eat lot of average grade sushi and foods under one price and roof. Finding a space to park on the busy lunch weekend is hard, as the next door "In and Out" burger customers will fight for the same parking space too. I won't come back here unless I'm so hungry like a fat pig driving down FWY 134 to Glendale.

1 star because: Food was either bland or greasy. Sushi was alright, the rest of the food looked like it was out for too long. The chocolate fountain was dirty with dropped food. Service was awful. The waiters barely came around. In the end, the manager wrote on our check, excessively charging us for tip. We asked about that and he said we had to pay, which is crazy because the service sucked. Save your money and time. Don't come here.

Osaka food is ok.... I loved the lobster but you can not get it from the Buffett. The waiter brings it to you. Since I was with the big party. The waiter only gave it to one side of the table. You have to ask for you to get it and the problem was that waiter seldom came and took care of us. The sad things I found out that they automatic charged us $35 for gratuity for ten people on our party. We believe that our waiter did not deserve the tips for doing nothing... He just picked up a few plates and our soft drinks were hardly filled. Our table was not kept and attentive of our waiter was way beyond below ZERO. I would not come to this restaurant again!!!!

I cannot for the life of me see how Osaka gets two and half stars and Kyoto gets three. Okay, so few employees speak actual English. But the food is very good, with plenty to choose from, and the ambiance is very nice. It feels "special". You get good value for your money here. There is something for everyone. Great place to bring visiting friends or relatives. Good "date night" spot if you and your beloved are into ritual overindulgence. Tip: If no one is manning the Mongolian barbecue station, ring the bell and the cook will appear.

Osaka location has had so many previous fail dining establishment's. I don't understand why all the bad reviews here? I've been here several times now for lunch & a baby shower party. The food was really good for all the times I came. They have a Mongolian do it yourself station, sushi & Chinese staples. I really like their offering of noodles & the fried foods here. Sushi was decent not the best but not the worst. Their dim sum offerings are not bad for a buffet. I mean I have had worse. The real issue is you must come when they first open for the freshest fare. You have to realize that if you come during mid day & close to closing they aren't going to make fresh items just for you. It's what's there & sitting on the heat lamps. It is what it is. The mushroom chicken, beef items were actually really good to my surprise. Their hot & sour soup is actually very delicious here. The dessert station however was the worst I have ever consumed. Nothing fresh all frozen & cheap quality products. Even the ice cream tasted off. The chocolate fountain was decent although had a very liquefied taste to it instead of a thick chocolaty consistency. Why the 4 stars? The food was fresh & all the items I tried were enjoyable that's why.

I'm sorry, but this place is just not good. Most of their sushi I don't think was fresh...and we came here on the weekend! Imagine on the weekdays, when there ain't as much people!! I shudder to think...... =/ Cleanliness of a restaurant means a lot to me. And as soon as I grabbed those plates, they felt dirty! Everything was pretty mediocre, with the exception of maybe their coconut fried shrimp (equivalent to honey walnut shrimp) & their baked scallops. I really hope they improve! But for now, I'ma hafta pass on this place.

DISGUSTING! Do yourself a favor and find a real place to eat. Shrimp water logged and no taste, as so the miso soup! The place is dirty with cobwebs on the corners of the ceilings, and disgusting bathrooms! We left with stomachaches and still hungry!

I am writing this review in behalf of my boyfriend, let us tell you guys about our bad experience: 1.they did not deboned the salmon (sashimi) very well.he chewed 5 sashimis with bones in it.then he just give up on trying. 2.the soup is cold 3.there are ants running around the lemons.4. the server were kinda slow in giving you some drinks although you see them just standing around some areas.5. the ice cream area is kinda messy. I am sorry but we will not go back here since this is our first and the last.

OMG! OMG! Didn't want to give even 1 star! BUT since I have to it'll probably be for their cleanliness, other wise quality of food and service is ZERO stars!! Nothing was good at this buffet. Nothing! Who can mess up corn?! Really?! They did! The fish was fishy, the chicken seemed like its been reheated a few times so it tasted rubbery, and the different types of salads they had were very bland. Thought the food would be at least decent or 1-2 dishes maybe good... But absolutely nothing was good. Not even the dessert! Or the self serve ice cream/froyo... It had an icy texture that tasted literally like frozen ice melted to have that fake ice cream consistency. Gross! Anyway, I'd say avoid this place if your hungry cuz it won't fill you up! I'd save the calories for in-and-out next door!

"Ah-ha-ha. Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?"- John Lydon- 1978 I love Japanese cuisine, in particular: Sushi and Sashimi. My budget, though, prevents me from eating it as much as I would like to. So, when a place with a fairly good reputation has a bargain, I try to jump on it. Unfortunately, in this case, taking advantage of the "bargain" left me wide open for one of the sleaziest scams around. Dateline: July 4th: I decided to treat myself to an In-n-Out burgers and fries. With the closest location being in Glendale, I rode up, anticipating an all-American meal, only to stop and have to make a quick decision: burgers or seafood? Believe me, it was a hard choice. But the deciding factor was the sign on the Osaka entrance door that read "July 4th special: $11, all-day". So in I went. Very little of the interior has changed, since the days that the location house The Rusty Pelican, with the obvious exception of the buffet line. The hostess sat me in a comfortable mahogany booth; the waitress took my drink order, and invited me to partake in the offerings that awaited me. While many made bee-lines for the usual buffet offerings of Orange Chicken, ribs, and beef, I proceeded to decimate the sushi line with great glee. With a full plate, I returned to where I was seated, to find my tea had arrived, as well as a plate of lobster, split, and covered in what I can only describe as being some sort of cheese sauce that all but killed (or perhaps covered up) the flavor of this crustacean delicacy. The sushi itself, while OK, was surprisingly bland, but wasn't the worst that I've had. After two hours, I had my fill and prepared to make my exit. At the payment desk, I was given my bill: $25.00. I told them what table I was at, and that I was having the special that was posted on their door. Oh no, I was mistaken. It seems that in eating their horrible lobster, I was choosing the "lobster dinner", not the 4th of July special. I was dumbstruck. I had just fallen victim to a bait & switch scam. Now, given the taste-quality of the cuisine for the price, it's a sign of desperation that an establishment with such a great location would have to sink so low. I know that I will never darken their doorway again, and I urge others to do the same. Do yourself a favor, and go to Vegas, or Kyoto, where you'll get your money's worth, without the shadow of being conned looming in the corner.

I'm not a fan of AYCE, but a friend was having her b-day party here & I was not at all impressed w/ this place. The sushi is not so fresh... the rolls are somewhat hard; like they were sitting out since lunch time (yuck!) Their "Asian Food" was pretty much Panda Express food (orange chicken, beef & broccoli, walnut shrimp) For all you crab leg hoarders, we went on a Friday night & it was pretty empty... the crab legs were the only positive here (sadly!) They served every table lobster w/ some mayo & cheese... ugh, not my taste! The desserts are pretty much like cakes & a cheesy chocolate fountain... oh memories of a wedding reception. They have a variety of ice creams- from green tea to vanilla & a vanilla and chocolate soft serve. I will pick Vegas buffet over this place anytime... it's not worth the price!

    (2)
  • Andy K.

Lots of variety of for $20, and most of the cooked foods are pretty tasty. However, 3 stars off because the sashimi fish had a gross stinky taste. I spit it out immediately and lost my appetite for the rest of the meal. Service is alright. More frequent refills and more frequent clearing of dirty plates would be appreciated, but for $20 AYCE the service is just fine.

I was honestly pleasantly surprised after my first visit here. After reading the reviews, I was a bit hesitant about trying this place out, but I am glad that I did! I thought the food tasted great, which didn't surprise me since I'm not much of a picky eater, but my dad who is very picky, also thought that there was a lot of variety and the quality of the food was alright for the lunchtime price.

  • Shin L.

The price is one of the cheapest as buffets go. The quality is nothing impressive, but may get the job done. So while this will likely be your typical buffet experience, I have two reasons why I prefer others to this place. First, is it focuses only on Asian foods, so if that's your kind of thing, then this place might be for you. Second, it's not really very busy, which means things may sit for a while under the heat lamps by the time you get to them. They have Korean galbi, Kimchee, Mongolian BBQ, sushi, sashimi, chinese food, dim sum, amongst other things, and of course dessert. Pretty much nothing is noteworthy except the coconut shrimp and a couple of other things. I was surprised that I could eat the oysters and sashimi. The dim sum was laughable. The dessert was probably my favorite, but was nothing fancy. They not only had soft-serve frozen yogurt, but also about 16 flavors of ice cream to choose from. I topped my frozen treats with almond cookie, cheesecake, and chocolate covered fruits. Mmmm... drool.

Okay, I don't do buffets. This review is the reason why. Against my better judgement, I came here because my pops wanted to check it out. I would never come here otherwise. #1 complaint - staff doesn't speak English. Several occasions, I had to ask the staff something whether it be "Where's the restroom" or "What kind of fish is this?" The staff just ignored you, pointed towards a general direction or simply shrugged. WTF?!?! Seriously?!?! If I ask what kind of sushi that is, there should be a bloody answer, ESPECIALLY if you're making it... goodness!! I don't like eating mysterious sushi. No way. There were a lot a varieties, I'll give you that. And the place was packed. I'd say the cooked foods were better than the raw. Sushi was gross, rolls were even more gross (soggy as if they've been sitting out for a longgggg time), so stay away unfortunately, from the sushi section. Though they did have salmon sashimi, which was fairly decent and fatty. Don't really know if it was fresh sashimi quality salmon but it was pretty good. They had all kinds of meats and Chinese foods, dessert bar with Green Tea ice cream. Probably the Chinese food section was the best if I had to pick one. Didn't get to try any crab or the Mongolian section...I was just too full or too grossed out....

Went here after visiting a friend and saw this place. Bf is a sucker for buffets and decided to give this place a try. Food was ok, nothing special. They have a variety of Asian foods and some sushi too. If you're not a seafood lover, they do have ribs yet most all the meat is seafood. They have a sushi/nigiri area, fried and hot foods, side dishes, dim sum and a dessert area. Unfortunately the soft serve ice cream machine was broken at the time. Ambience was decent and the experience was like what you'd find at a buffet.

Not as large as some other seafood buffets, but not bad. I tried their sushi and it didn't taste gross and was actually pretty good. They have a large selection of sushi and sashimi which was nice to see. Id idn't see any lobster that people were talking about. Their cooked food was good as well but like I said not a huge array to choose from.

If you like 2nd tier sushi, sashimi, unbalanced tastes, endless Chinese foods, desserts and ice cream, then this is a place for you to visit.... it seems places like Osaka and Vegas in downtown Glendale are popping up left and right.... with Todai's closing, I knew someone had to take their place (and yes, Todai wasn't all that great, but they had better tasting foods). Chinese Food - decent... it seems like all the Chinese buffets provide the same dishes... chicken and broccoli, beef and broccoli, green beans, etc. Sushi Rolls - okay.... not the best, but at least the rice is thin.... Sashimi - the tune looked very pink and not RED.... yeah, avoid it. As for the grill foods, etc... the Kalbi was ok... but it's hit or miss... The place was busy, but they were very slow in restocking the rolls and other foods, lack of staff and it seems lack of attention from the front to the back. Give it at least one try and decide for yourself... but if you are expecting high quality food, then skip this place.

I am a regular customer here, 1-2x a week. It is bar none the best seafood buffet that I know of in the area (Hokkaido in Burbank would be a very close second, and it is also a location that I frequent). Be it known that I'm referring to the seafood itself; I have no interest in chicken or other non-seafood items, so I can't comment on those. The sashimi is excellent (for a buffet), LOVE the mix with scallops and octopus, the shucked oysters and mussels are always fresh, and the seaweed salads is substantial and quite different than that of other buffets. The building is open, airy, and very clean. The restrooms are modern and clean. Service has always been excellent; unlike other reviewers, I have always been welcomed with a smile and prompt service. They do know how to engender loyal customers and treat them well.

It's a buffet same as all others. But never had a problem with service. Took my plate right away, filled my drink as it became low. Never had to wait long to be seated. If ppl are looking for five star quality then obviously don't go to a buffet.

This place is pretty terrible. The spread looks good! But everything I ate ended up being a poor quality -fast-to-get-out cheapened version of the food that was over sauced to hide the poor quality of the food. Everyone at our table (11 of us) agreed we are not coming back. The sushi was hard! HARD! I couldn't chew it. And this was on a friday night at 7pm which should be the business time where the restaurant should be having its freshest spread...

Do not eat here!! My husband and i were both curious about the place and regret it forever.... We got major food poisoning from the sushi most likely. The only highlight was the thrifty ice cream, which i rather go to rite aid for then suffer any more diarrhea..... Now once that night but 6 times until we took immodium.... Don't go here!

Mom got invited to attend a funeral gathering and well she decided to invite me too for lunch. I was like hey why not. Remind you this was a funeral lunch gathering so there were 300 people in this event plus regular customers so I will be basing my review on how this went. Very crowded, long lines and by the time it was your turn to get some food it was all gone already. Sushi bar needed more sushi chefs. Three was not enough because there were a lot of empty trays. For an event like this even for a buffet place it would've been nice to add additional employees even if it was only 2-4hr shift. It would've made it easier for every one. At first service was great, then all of sudden it started to shy away. Although they were responsive on taking the dirty plates from your table = great. Refills on your drink however was not noticed unless you waved your hand and make them come to you. Nice on the plastic plates because it won't break on the other hand it felt like it was still dirty. Maybe it was just me. Plates weren't as warm either unlike some places I know. This became an issue for me here but I let it slide because too many people was in the area. Food was great here, more seafood variety if I can remember than the Las Vegas Buffet on Brand Blvd. Although less on sushi but wouldn't mind that since I only eat certain ones. The main thing I enjoyed was the steam rice, coconut shrimp, variety of steam buns, the BBQ and seaweed salad. As for dessert the best part was the ice cream, Thrifty ice cream. Now who does not like Thrifty Ice cream?! Anyway if you're into the buffet style or want a little gathering then this place is good. It is also quite big as you can see how many people it held. Also decent food for your taste buds.

I was really excited to try this place. There were so many options and, in my opinion, everything LOOKED good. But my, were we mistaken. I started with the sushi, tried one of each kind, with a bit of sashimi. Even though there were various types of fish they all tasted the same. Mmm, not fresh. The baked salmon was try and extremely salty. All of the BBQ'd meats were rubbery and hard to get down. The shrimp cocktail wasn't fully cooked. Like it VERY OBVIOUSLY, wasn't fully cooked. It wasn't even cooked, so I didn't try it. The only thing that satisfied me was the chocolate fountain. Yum. But here are the two kickers: 1. One of the people I came with ate an oyster and then got food poisoning. 2. There was a man who was extremely intoxicated. He was staring at me, giving me his best bedroom eyes, and every time I would walk by him he would hold his hand out to touch my dress. When I told the manager, he said he wasn't hurting anyone and to just carry on. Hm. Nope.

Came here for a relative's birthday and I have to say okay. Service was spotty at times and I can't count how many times someone in our large party had to flag down a waiter/waitress to refill a drink. Let's not even go into how they forgot who ordered what drink Quality of the food is pretty much the same as at all other buffets. You don't get the best, but it's just okay. I didn't like the fact that no one seemed to be manning the lobster tail section. Not once did I ever see a lobster tail on that tray. Puzzing to say the least. Cooked vegetables just seemed to be drowning in oil or butter or both. I don't think putting the same said vegetables under heat lamps helped any. Seafood section (both raw for the sushi and cooked versions) was, again, so-so. Was it worth coming out here for this?? Eh, I don't think so. I'd much rather go to Todai which I think has better quality. I know they're trying to cater to all tastes, but I think these guys would do better to concentrate on quality seafood instead.

Dined with family from about 5:48 pm to 7:27 pm. Unique: choc. fondue, rainbow sherbet, tuna hand roll, salmon sushi roe, cooked spinach. Good: amazingly soft and flavorful cheese scallops (best item), bbq ribs (red glazed) are pretty good and not too dry. the following are decent: fried shrimp, korean bbq, fried rice noodles. has a very beautiful setup and nice layout in both food and decor of place. location has plenty of parking. the waitresses attended our table and bussed in timely manner. Bad: sushi not fresh at all, prime rib station barely manned - almost never, stir-fry (Mongolian bbq) station only attended 25-30% of time, crab & lobster were way too salty to eat. the price is high when you consider there are lower priced alternatives to this place. difficult location to get to. didn't ask if we needed high chair upfront upon spotting a 2 year old arriving to the table, let alone get one until it was requested. Neutral: fried rice was way too dry, but adding and mixing in some melted butter taken from the crab leg section made up for that. immediately provided 1 nut cracker for shellfish after seeing our dad bring his own from home (this could be good). Funny: food trays are not placed in corresponding locations with the appropriate label marked on the glass shielding (i.e. you might see fried bananas labeled as french fries and vice versa, or you might see the label fried rice but only the actual tray is to your left and not under the label itself). Final overall opinion: It does deserve a 2.5 stars, it could be a 3 but doesn't have that extra push to quite get there, has the makings to be a 3.5 out of 5, but the motivation is just not happening. Recommendation: Need a motivating factor to encourage staff to take pride in making the food great so that customers are happy and will return or refer others.

PLEASE DON'T GO HERE SAVE YOUR MONEY! We were here on a sat. at noon they serve dinner the whole day; read the reviews but stilll decided to go BIG MISTAKE. $19.99 per person+added tip to the check. The service was soo bad it got me mad. The server had an attitude, wouldn't pick up the plates, wouldn't check if we needed refills we had to tell him. Worst of all we got the check after 30 minutes of being there; the server would just walk by and stare at the check which we ignored. Honestly I wasn't planning on giving him a good tip because of the awful service but we paid a $30 tip for 8 people (which was already included in the check). About the food not so good nothing out of the ordinary; sushi tasted nasty like it had been there for hours and was going bad already, warm food was cold, and the lobster served to the table tasted like mayo which was disgusting way too much mayo. Don't let the good looking appearance of the place foul you like it fouled me. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE I DO MEAN IT!!!

If you like the All-you can eat seafood buffets, then go to Hokkaido in Burbank. Osaka was just bad on all levels. The food, service & maintenance of the place was just BAD. The worst sushi ever. The rice was not seasoned and the fish had no flavor. My husband ordered a draft beer (they spelled it "Graft") and it was not draft but bottled; even though they said it was just put on tap. Took them 15 minutes to bring it out too. The employee's were nice though. The labels on a lot of the food items were misplaced & wrongly labelled. The chocolate fountain looked so dirty inside as if they do not clean it every so often. And their bathrooms were disgusting with paper all over the floors. According to my husband, the men's bathroom did not have any paper towels or toilet paper at all. Their green tea ice cream was good.

At $11.95 for lunch Osaka positions itself squarely between Kyoto and Vegas's buffets. This applies to price, selection, atmosphere.... For a quick lunch I'd rather do Kyoto, there is less selection on rolls and sashimi and the sushi is thinner pieces of fish but to me the taste is better. Osaka tasted like everything was injected with sugar water. Things looked good but just tasted a little strange. Kyoto is priced like a value bento lunch at a decent sushi place, and you can pick and choose whatever you want to eat. Their tepan grill is better than Osaka's too. For pretty desserts and nicer decor just step up to Vegas. It's only a few dollars more and the quality is much better. I don't plan on coming back to Osaka.

Expected more from this place. Pretty much the trick is to choose wisely. Garlic shrimp was a satisfaction in taste with the right garlic touch. Sesame balls are great as well. The fruit is NOT a recommendation. The pineapple had no flavor. It was basically soaked in water.

This place is really bad. I can say this is the worst buffet I have ever eaten at. EVER!! It was hot as hell and the food was gross. The soup taste like boiling water. The fried crab was soggy. The kalbi was like beef jerky. The crab legs tasted like coconut. (Dont ask me why) The soft serve tasted weird. (At least get that right) The only thing that was edible there was the green tea ice cream. (Probably because it was pre-packaged) I was literally poking my mouth so I can throw up all the food I ate here. It was such a bad experience. This place should be called Osucka!!! Yuck!

  • Kio E.

newly opened place but it seems that other ones in the area are better. The place is clean, the servers and staff are very efficient and friendly. The food is mostly the same thing as others in the area or the common buffet fanfare. nothing new and nothing exciting. The thing that turned me off is that they serve "Sharksfin SOUP" WTF? I am so sorry but serving this in your establishment is a big NO, NO. The establishment should be warned and closed if they continue to support serving this food.

This isn't a 5 star restaurant, but it is an excellent buffet!!! We all know what buffets are about. This one has an Asian flair. It is fresh, clean, comfortable and has many wonderful foods to select from. The price is good too. It seems the people who write a bad review about it are not taking into consideration, It's a buffet. But a very good one!

Servers don't speak English, thus not very polite. Food that shouldn't be spicy is spicy. Food that shouldn't be chewy is chewy. Some foods are blah compared to quality and size of Hokkaido and Vegas Buffet. But if you are craving a buffet and are in the mood to pig-out, then I guess it'll do.

This seafood buffet is actually not that bad. I went there with my co-worker, and he liked it, considering both of us never been here, or any other of its locations. We went on a Friday weekday lunch with drink coupons. At lunch time, the restaurant was only half full. The other seafood buffet I went to in Glendale was Vegas Buffet, which had more customers. Sure, they had more selections, of hot food, but they are also bigger, have more employees, and more expensive. I guess you get what you paid for. I would prefer going to Vegas buffet, if treating a date, but I wouldn't mind coming to Osaka for casual stuff. I found their sushi and sashimi to be edible with natural flavors. I got their fried rice, salmon, cheese crab, mushrooms, and mussels for their hot food. They were edible and flavorful as well. Fruits, you can't expect much depending on the season. Their cakes were of Costco quality, but as I said, do not expect very much. Conclustion: If you don't mind paying more for great buffet foods with great friends, go to Vegas. If you are not that picky of an eater (me), try this place.

At first glance, it may seem like your typical asian AYCE buffet, but this place is not too bad. They have a soup station, a bbq station, and the usual teppanyaki station. Food was good, better than you're typical asian AYCE buffet, prices a little steep but worth it if you bring your appetite. Will return someday.

So disappointed with the service. I've waited 45 minutes just for the crab legs. I called what time do they serve the crab legs and told me at 4pm...i told 3 servers and each said it's gonna be out after 5 minutes. Well, it came out after 45 minutes! Service was really really bad...soda wasn't refilled. I will never ever gonna go back in here.

For some reason there are a lot of Asian/Japanese/Seafood buffets in the Glendale area. Having gone to all of them, I have to say Osaka ranks as one of the best. I came here for dinner $17.99 and left pretty satisfied. The usual suspects are here: mediocre sushi, lousy sashimi, stir fried Chinese vegetables, fried stuff, salad bar, crappy dessert, etc. The highlights were the lobster claws! I was expecting to find some lobster tails but nope! These claws were pretty good! I filled up on these and the warmed crab legs which were also decently edible. The Mongolian section looked pretty bland so I went over to the grill side and there was grilled seabass and short ribs! Both were pretty good! The service was pretty slow and bad, no one re-filled my water. The restaurant itself is pretty clean and I didn't feel dirty eating here. I'd come back again sometime!

Man I love this place. They have kid specials daily, I believe its .85 cent per year of your child. Yhe food is delicious, service is great, I asked if I could watch a laker gane and the server gave me the tv remote. I can't wait to go back!

Best seafood buffet in the area. It's a little bit more expensive than those in the Alhambra area, but it's worth the extra few dollars and it's right off of the 134. The sushi is standard for a buffet but the rest of their selection is much better than you'd expect. They have two chefs to make noodle soups and hibachi to order and if you go after 4pm for the dinner offerings (it's the only place with lobster claws included in the buffet), every one in your party gets their own half lobster brought to your table.

3.5 stars. I am not sure what people expect from an AYCE place. The food was good and the service very good. They picked up the dirty plates and refilled my water, so I can stuff my pie hole for more. For about $23 per person on an Easter Sunday, it was very good.

More like 2.5. I'm not a huge buffet fan. The food here was average. Sashimi was decent and the baked food was good. Desert is good but their fruit section was horrible. Barely any taste in all fruits. We came here for father's day. I can honestly say that if I come back it'll only be for family gatherings.

For the price, I would say it is a great deal. We go about once a month and I have unlimited salmon sashimi, crab legs, and seaweed salad. I have tried a little bit of everything, but those are my favorites, so I rarely get anything else anymore. The quality is decent for being a seafood buffet. It isn't prime seafood, but it isn't the kind you are scared to eat and live to tell. They have a wide selection of sushi rolls, but I don't usually get them because I don't like the sweet flavor of the crab meat mixture they use. They have King crab legs and Snow crab legs (hot and cold) along with the small fried crabs. The BBQ side is decent as well, but you don't get to choose your own sauces, so you basically get garlic and soy sauce (which was perfectly fine with me!). The chinese food was decent too. The garlic string beans were tasty but full of salt, which happens to be another typical product of a seafood buffet. They have dim sum options, cheese won tons, and sesame bread balls which probably don't go well sitting under heat lamps. I don't recommend any of the won-tons, balls, and other misc. items in that area. The service is good. They never seem to run out of food and the drinks are refilled regularly. The dessert consists of a fruit variety, cakes, pastries, and a chocolate fountain (with marshmallows and fruit) which I warn all who go there to stay away from. Those things can be infested with germs and I have seen kids lick their fingers and stick them in there. Disgusting! They also have soft-serve ice cream and a variety of scoopable ice cream. I generally enjoy the ice cream with the fresh fruit.

We had a family dinner here and it's probably not a good thing if the ice cream (possibly Thrifty's) that they serve is one of the better things served here. I did dare to try their sashimi and I have lived to tell you about it, but I wouldn't recommend this place if you have other options.

Omg ... I expected more ... i was thinking might it might have been alright ... but its so bad .. the food is horrible .. workers gave me a look when I asked for water .. and the guy who was at the front talked to me like I was a kid ... okay compared to him I am but he literally talked to me like I was a 3rd grader who's from another country .. gave me a barney breakdown on how its going to take 15 minutes to be seated .. I think its better to just go to in-n-out that's next door ..

Hmmm...I thought Osaka was considerably better than Vegas Buffet (which is the opposite of most reviews). Perhaps I hit Osaka on a good night and Vegas Buffet on a bad night. The Mongolian BBQ was worth returning as well as several of the Asian selections. The Sushi was clearly frozen -- most of what I had was colder than what would come out of a refrigerator, so this was a disappointment. Desserts were hit and miss. Overall worth a shot, but nothing to get excited about.

Came recently for a large family gathering, so we had a party of over 80 people. They were accommodating as a staff / with space reserved for us. In defense of the manager, it was his day off and yet he still came to work to see that our meal went smoothly. He offered us 40% off the total bill as well, and he went out of his way to see we had all we needed. There was a wide selection of food, from BBQ to teppanyaki to sushi to dim sum. Their selection also includes raw/baked oysters, salt & pepper crab, and lobster tails (but you have to ask for that). Dessert includes fresh fruit, soft serve ice cream, old-fashioned, scoop-it-yourself ice cream, cakes and pastries, and-my personal favorite-a chocolate fountain! Servers came around often to refill our drinks, so I can't really gripe about anything here.

Osaka is a fantastic choice for a seafood buffet in the Los Angeles area. Before we took our family to Osaka, my wife and I read some of the reviews and many were not good, and we almost made different plans for dinner, until my wife remembered that our sister in-law had recently went to Osaka. After talking to her, we made our decision. I'm glad we went to Osaka. We were met at the entrance by the Manager, David. He was very friendly and sat our family of 5 right away. They had a large group (about 100 people) celebrating a young lady's 95th birthday and they were packed. David sat us at a table towards the back of the restaurant and treated us like VIP's. The food was everything we expected and more. The sushi and sashimi was very fresh and looked very appealing. The overall cleanliness of the place was excellent. I was a little disappointed with the roast beef but what should one expect at an Asian Buffet. You wouldn't expect the best sushi at a steak house, right? The ice cream bar was an unexpected bonus. Self serve REAL ice cream, large tubs like at the big ice cream chain with 31 different flavors, if you know what I mean. I think Osaka has 12 different flavors with green tea ice cream that is outstanding. We will definitely be back, soon. The service was fantastic and David checked on us several times even though his hands were full with the large private party, and the wait staff had everything under control. Our plates were constantly cleared and our drinks were always full. Anyone who dislikes this place is crazy and probably has a terrible life and doesn't know anything but how to be negative.

I was here on opening week, the food was outstandingly amazing. Fresh sushi, and sashimi. Just recently I went back to have some sushi. I noticed almost immediately that the integrity of the food declined within a mere month. I won't be going back simply because for $25 I could eat an awesome burger at In-In-Out right across the parking lot. Cheaper and better quality. 2 stars for trying to make it happen. If they keep this up they won't be around much longer.

They treated me very poorly. It seemed they didn't want me there, until my asian girlfriend and her sisters walked through the door, and then the host was all smiles. Still completely ignored me until he learned that the girls were with me :/ the food was ok, but I got sick from the sushi for about a week, it was food poisoning. I haven't been back since. If I could give negative 5 star's I would.

I've been waiting for Osaka Seafood Buffet to open for the past few months and was finally able to give it a try today. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my experience. I had a bad vibe from the beginning when my friend and I first got there. The host was sitting outside smoking but he quickly put the cigarette down and came inside to seat us. He picked up our silverware and napkin with his hand that he had just used to hold his cigarette without washing his hands first. When we sat down, we noticed our napkins were dirty - not sure if it was from ash on his hands from the cigarette or something else. The food itself was nothing special at all. The place was pretty dead so the food was just sitting there with very little turnover. I know you shouldn't expect GREAT food from a buffet, but when the food is just sitting there, it becomes pretty bad. Everything we got was pretty cold and stale. Let's put it this way, our second round of food included NO seafood - instead, we settled for the teppanyaki because we knew it would be hot. The teppanyaki was decent but if i wanted teppanyaki, I would go to Mori's for real teppanyaki. Needless to say I won't be going back to Osaka. If I am craving a seafood buffet, I rather head over to Vegas Seafood Buffet on Brand - at least they're always packed so the food is fresh.

The first time I discovered this place 18 months ago I thought, what a great deal especially with the coupons in the LA Times. I was going to write a 3 star review based on relatively good food but poor service and a host who did not speak English nor would take advice. The 3rd and final time I was there, I witnessed the unspeakable. A man came to clean the counters by the food, picked up food with bare hands (no gloves) and put them back in the food. I took pictures and showed them to a new host who spoke some English. They said they would tell him. I also witnessed 3 children playing with the chocolate fountain even occasionally putting their fingers in it, no one told them to stop until I did. The final straw: I got very sick a few hours later and decided to never go back and stick to more reliable buffet fare like Vegas Buffet a couple of miles away. I still have the photo of the man messing with the food if you need it.

I've been here once on a Tuesday night for dinner. $17.99 per person. not including drinks. I don't know if i'm just really easy going or not, but i didn't find anything wrong with it. The sushi was decent. It's what you'd expect from buffet sushi. The baked oysters were to die for. Seriously so good. They always cleared my table when it needed to be cleared. Our waitress knew what a crab cracker was. My soda glass was never empty. The only thing i didn't like is that they brought the bill before we were done. It wasn't even busy. But it wasn't a big deal because they were polite about it and told us to take our time/ do it whenever we're ready. And a lot of places do this, so it was whatever. Going again tomorrow for lunch.

Went here for lunch with my boyfriend because we live close and were hoping for a yummy seafood buffet close to our apt. Unfortunatly there wasn't anything good about the food at this place. Every single thing was less than medicore. Not a single thing looked fresh, I was seriously concerned for my health. Even all the "clean" dishes were dirty. Everything looked like it had been sitting out since they opened and the trays of food that were empty just sat out under the heat lamps, never were they refilled(saddened me cuz I would have liked some chow mein). The mandarin portion scared me because it looked like the raw chicken had been sitting out for hours. Also there weren't enough tongs for everything so u had to use tongs from other vegetables, it would have been really easy to just use the tongs from the raw meet for the vegetables, this doesn't seem ok to me. To add to all this, not a single chef spoke a lick of English, couldn't even ask him to make my dish spicy because he didn't understand what I was saying. Now for the dessert, the actual taste of the ice cream was good, but when I reach for the ice cream scoop it was sitting in the lil cup of water on the side, this cup of water has a lil baby faucet running into it to keep the water sanitary, this lil faucet was not on. So the scoops were sitting in still milky looking water, this is beyond unsanitary. Now the fresh fruit, it was warm... How fresh could it possibly be??? Every cake and cookie tasted the same, all dry. There was a chocolate fountain, seemed cool, except it wasn't running so the part that stood upright had chunks and splatters all over it that all ended in a chocolate puddle, it was unfortunate that the chocolate even looked inedible There was 3 good things.... 1. The sever refilled our drinks when they were low. 2. The busser took away the plates we were done with. 3. The ice cream (pecan nut) was delicious Unfortunately I will never go there again and will warn my friends...

this Japanese sushi, Chinese food/dim sum, mongolian bbq seafood buffet just opened today next to In-N-Out. Nice selection so far. somewhat typical of other asian seafood buffets. they have a salad bar, ice cream / yogurt dessert area with chocolate fountain. the chinese food and sushi is above average and tastes fresh. they have 6 soups to choose from too if you're into that from the usual 2-3 that most have like miso, hot/sour soup, eggdrop are the usual suspects plus cabbage soup and others. We were there for lunch but the manager, John, said that there are more food selections during dinner/weekend. I won't mind paying $17.99 for dinner but my expectations will definitely be higher. We'll just have to see on the 2nd visit. lots of seating... parking isn't too bad however, there's always a bottleneck getting into the parking area due to the in-n-out patrons. the place is new so it looks nice everywhere. feels more of the Japanese decor than Chinese. prices are weekday lunch $10.99 dinner $17.99. then all-day weekend buffet pass for 18.99. Fri 4p to 10p. Sat 11a to 10p and Sun 11a to 10p. kids 2 and younger are free then it's 0.98 cents per age. until the full price.

Meh. But for $10 for lunch I recommend it. Its just a place to eat at if you have nowhere else to go. Sushi does not get replenish that well, doesn't look that fresh either. Teppenyaki was so-so, it was bland and alright. Typical buffet, nothing special.

Had late dinner here yesterday around 9pm til closing. It was their grand opening. This place food did not stand out and I was greatly disappointed. For a grand opening their food selection is mediocre. I can't help comparing it to Vegas buffet. I would go back and eat at Vegas buffet anytime, but it would be a long time before I return to Osaka. Their Mongolian side was just okay. The meat is not that tender. The sushi did not look too fresh and appetizing at night. Given we did arrive at 9pm but their sushi only had a few pieces left and they didn't make more. Their Chinese side section had a little bit more selection but they ran out of fried rice towards the end. Some of their food was hard, like it's been sitting there for hours. They do have more soup selection but it doesn't taste as good as in other places. Their dessert section cannot compete with others. Their chocolate fountain is too thin/diluted. It doesn't even solidify, and has an after taste, like very cheap chocolate. Their pastries were too sweet. Their macaroons had an after taste, like old coconut was used. Their fruit selection were not sweet. The ambiance was great. It's a big place and since it was their grand opening, it was not noisy because there weren't a lot of people. They have outside seating as well. They had flat screen TV's on the wall. They have a lot of servers but not very attentive, even if there were only a few people inside. I ordered water with lemon. She gave me a glass of water, I asked if I can get some lemon. She told me I can go back to the buffet and get lemon there. Drinks are the only thing that's ordered, and she couldn't even help put with that. Our glasses were not refilled automatically. We had to ask them to do so. I guess I expected much more since it was their grand opening, but sadly, I would not recommend this place. Try it once for the experience, but not to go back. I hope they will be able to improve later on.

I came here on a lunch with my co-workers and we were seated right away! I felt like they had a good selection of food and for a good price! I really liked it! We also had a vegetarian with us and they were able to get some good stuff... mostly mongolian and make their own dish which was nice. Service was fast and having the buffet for $10.99 isn't so bad with the amount of food they have! They had really good rolls, your selection of BBQ, such as grilled pork chops, ribs and sausages. Additionally, they had a few items such as dim sum, fried foods and a dessert bar with ice cream!

Osaka is more similar to Kyoto, than to Vegas Seafood Buffet. I say this because both Osaka and Kyoto have those delicious fried crabs!!! YUMMM!! The ones at Osaka are rolled around in a lot more MSG, thus more tasty here! Hahaha Osaka won me over with their garlic shrimp thing, which is just basically swimming in pool of beautiful melted butter. The selection of ice cream at Osaka is more diverse, and it's softer than Kyoto's hard-to-scoop treats, so there's NOT a long line as you watch children stick their arms into the buckets, touching the ice cream you're about to eat. I'd go back!

As a sushi lover, I would advise youto stay away from their raw fish. On the other hand, def eat all their cooked food :) baked scallop, crawfish, crab legs, Mongolian BBQ, and steamed clams are def a must try. Not the beat buffet but good place to bring a large party.

When I rate buffets, I tend to lower the bar a little. I understand that you will never achieve the same level of quality with food in a buffet line vs. food that is cooked to order. So the 2 stars reflected here already has that factored in. And yet... here we are 2 stars. The sushi, is horrible. The fish was of very poor quality and I really couldn't vouch for it's freshness. The fish had that dull color of death and tasted every bit as bad. The spicy tuna roll was even worse. I would not be surprised if the left over tuna from previous days were mashed to produce the rolls. I genuinely was concerned that I may need to head to the emergency room. What was worse than the sushi was the dim sum. I took one bite of each and again was forced to abandon them on my plate. It just tasted bad, I can't even try to compare them to anything I've eaten before. The only thing that prevented the ONE star rating was the cooked food. It was OK. Lots of salt, over cooked and greasy but compared to the sushi and dim sum, it was like a 5 star dining experience.

Worst seafood buffet ever! Yes they have a lot of selections but the seafood dishes are all fishy and smelled pungent. The clams, oysters, shrimps are all FISHY! Their sushi rice is icy cold. How am I supposed to continue eating when all I have is FISHY aftertaste in my mouth? Please don't come here! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF I HAD TO LISTEN TO THAT F#%^ING HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONG AGAIN, I WOULD POKE MY EAR DRUMS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both the manager and the waiter didn't know the difference between a white and a red wine! WE GOT STOMACHACHE AFTER! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!! MUST HAD BEEN ALL THE NOT-SO-FRESH SEAFOOD THEY SERVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tried this place for the first time. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. Service was not good. Some of the hot foods were overcooked or undercooked. For a buffet, they did have many choices and the price was fine. But I may not visit again.

The newest Osaka of the chain situ on the hill of the junction of Glendale and Eagle Rock. 10.99$ for lunch with sashimi , MongolianBBQ Grill & Teppanyaki, 6 kinds of soupmany Dim Sum,, good ice cream, desserts, exotic fruits, I have to give a full 5 stars rating. Setting is very comfortable, place well decorated with class.refillable soft drinks and hot tea 1.75$, Sushi are very fresh. Parking is good, no charge. Will repeat for sure.

Remember those eggs you ordered last year at Denny's? No? Well your answer will probably be the same if you're asked about your meal at Osaka. This is an overpriced asian style buffet with sloppy food stations filled with easily forgettable food. I've been to my fair share of asian style buffets and San Gabriel Valley has much cheaper options with better quality.

My mom wanted to come back here for dinner. Parking is easy, maybe because we have my parents handicap. We were seated right away and started eating immediately. The food is just okay. There was nothing that made me want to get back up and try it again. I like that they have peeled shrimp and crab legs. The fruit was good, although, my dad did get a few pieces of rotten watermelon. They have a good amount of sushi selection. They had poke choices too! My sister tried out the soup station and came back with an appealing looking dish. She said the broth was good and the noodles were okay. My parents got the lobster that you have to request and it seemed like my dad enjoyed it. I had the dumplings, fried rice, teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, salmon and seaweed salad. It was alright. The salmon was really really dry and I couldn't bring my self to eat it. The bathroom should be maintained better. The service was good. They regularly cleared the plates but never offered to refill our drinks. We got the check promptly and left. It was about 80 bucks for four people. If I had a choice, I would go to Las Vegas buffet. It's just okay, maybe if the food was a little more appealing I would go back but right now it's just ehh.

There lobster and shrimp had tooooo much mayonnaise on them!!! Excessively!! Too much that you can barely taste the lobster or shrimps!!! They probably do it on purpose so you don't eat more. Their ribs were dry, and sitting there for a while, a not fresh!! Vegas seafood buffet is 10x better!! Better quality, for the same price. This OSAKA buffet reminds me of those cheap Chinese seafood buffets!! I WAS VERY DISSATISFIED!!! Disgusted at that mayo thing they pour on the shrimps and lobster!!!

This place was awful! Don't bother wasting your money here, Bad service, they were cleaning to close even though i was there an hour and 30 mins before closing time. They weren't bringing any food out and you could see the sushi was not fresh at all. Not many food options because they didn't make anything, besides what was left over. I'll stop there, I could say more but you get the point. Bad, horrible, disgusting place. Never again!

I didn't come here by choice...anyways this place has the standard buffet items. Chinese food, dim sum, fried foods (French fries, onion rings etc), crab legs, sushi, soups, Mongolian bbq, salad bar and desert chocolate fondue, jello, ice cream, jello, some cakes). Not a big selection and less than mediocre tasting food. The best thing here was the Mongolian bbq. The pros...no wait on a Saturday night and service was decent. But, Im not a fan of this place...left feeling like I wasted calories!! And after I was full, I found out there was a bbq area :(

If you go at all, I recommend lunch on a weekday. The price is more reasonable, and the food will be fresher. Food is okay, not amazing. But for the weekday lunch price, I think it's a good deal. The food is very similar to Hokkaido, so if you've been there, you know what you're in for. When I asked, they said they used to be with Hokkaido, but separated. I didn't really see much difference, if you ask me. One issue I had is they didn't seem to have enough tongs for each food item. It was awkward sharing tongs, especially if it was raw meat items for the Mongolian BBQ grill. The setting and location is quite nice, though.

Super yummy seafoods. The place to be for diehard seafood lovers. I highly recommend the place to dine in. Very clean and cozy place to celebrate any occasions. Back again.... Servers are so attentive and always smile to deal with customers. The bathroom is also well maintained. Everybody greats you when you come in and go. Keep it up guys. Bring good friends again next time.

So we're on a LA Buffet challenge this summer - literally trying to hit up every buffet that our stomachs can handle. I was a little bummed about this place - only b/c their were many positive reviews and the negative ones were more subjective and minimal for us. It should have been a clear indicator that we should have left and gone to in and out - when they sat us at a dirty table. The place was at best 1/2 full - so there should have been a clean table right? I pointed out that there was food still on the table and the server looked annoyed and so I cleaned it up with a tissue on my own. The food - hit/miss all around. Some food was clearly in the hot plates for HOURS - the corn was mushy and tasted like rubber - the vast majority of the sushi didn't taste freshly made. Even the steamed rice was a joke. The only thing that was worth eating was the teppanyaki (b/c it's freshly made) and the udon/noodle bar. Their soups and fruit were edible. We came around 630 on a Saturday night - reasonable dinner time for the trays to be semi-fresh?!?! Right? Maybe we were asking for too much. The wait staff is a joke - they like to group up together to socialize and gossip - which I guess is more important than refilling our drinks or taking away used plates - but that's fine. I mean they must not want to earn their tips. Management must not like this - b/c they eventually disbursed and then started to clean and do close out work. Which - at 8pm seems a little ridiculous, especially when you don't close until 10. They were sweeping while we were eating. We watched the kitchen staff stand on the counters and dismantle the hood. By 850 the restrooms were flooded out b/c they must hose it down to clean it. Seriously you have CUSTOMERS here. I could have slipped and fallen. I don't have life alert!!! Never again.

I've been taking my Mom here for awhile now. The sushi is mediocre, but are made larger than most other restaurants. The bathroom, particularly the men's isn't kept clean at all. And the wait staff is slow to clean up any spills around the buffet. Also, I find this a troubling trend at Osaka, that the Manager should correct immediately. When you pay your bill, the server who takes your payment to the cashier, never brings back a paid receipt to you. Likewise, I noticed that they do this, in order take their tip/gratuity immediately from whatever change is left etc. During my last visit on 9-06-15/Labor Day Sunday, the cashier never returned the $5 change to us. The servers simply took the $5 as theirs to keep before bringing it back to us as change from our meal bill. Osaka servers, you have to wait to see if you are deserving of a tip. It's not okay, to just take the left-over change from your customers. Also, management needs to think about improving the variety of food available at their buffet because it's getting old. Just like some of the desert cakes you guys put out. Likewise, the self serve ice cream bins need to be seated on a couple of stacks of clean bricks in their freezer. Because the ice cream tubs are inconveniently too low in their freezer for most customers. The low level lends itself to inadvertently contaminating the ice cream by customers dirty hands.

The food is ok. The service is kinda poor. But I have my favorites here - udon noodle soup w beef broth And the noodles with beef on the teppan grill. People eat here and then get mad. Tell the manager if you see anything you're not happy don't wait to throw a fit when ur paying ! Lol UPDATE - been sick im the middle of the night with painful stomach cramps and u can imagine the rest. One star it drops down to and I will never return. Thank you for the good run Osaka , No pun intended.

I went here to meet up with some family in the area and it was alright. It was an average "Asian" buffet. I stuck mostly to the BBQ section since they were cooking kalbi ribs - which were seasoned pretty well. The other offerings were typical dishes found in places like these, but they did not look very appealing, especially because I didn't see the plates rotating at all during my time dining. The place itself was pretty clean-looking. The only complaint that I have would be the ice cream scoop sink which was filled with a white opaque liquid that is supposed to be water. Overall, this buffet was alright. I give it about 2.5 stars. I don't think I'll be heading back there anytime soon (or ever). I'll just take my stomach to a KBBQ place, which would be the same price but for better food.

Mongolian BBQ. If you enjoy it and go to Mongolian BBQ restaurants, come here and eat lots of it. It'll be pretty worth it. If not, read below. Striving here to give the most useful review, no silliness about the restaurant decor, service (self-serve), or anything else. Only talking about the food and eating it. Like most other people have mentioned, most of the food is sub-par. I agree wholly with everyone who has said that all of the cooked food has likely been sitting there for hours because it definitely tastes like it. This iis also true for most of the nigiri unfortunately, save for the salmon which was actually pretty decent. All of the other nigiri felt like chewing through rubber. Hot and sour soup tasted like three parts water, one part ingredients. Dim sum didn't taste good at all, a complete 180 from Chinatown or the 626. However, this place can be worth it as hinted above. The Mongolian BBQ is actually quite good for the obvious reason that all of the ingredients are raw and not cooked long ago and burning unnecessarily under heat lamps. Also, the soft-serve and green tea ice cream are pretty decent. Last, the steamed white rice was actually surprisingly cooked well. I realize most people will probably care very little about that but I mention it because it helps you in surviving through the cooked foods. Overall If you're absolutely starving and enjoy Mongolian BBQ, this place essentially becomes solely dedicated to that with a bunch of other things on the side which in my view can actually make it pretty worthwhile to come here. Aside from that, do not come here with your family for some sort of gathering or celebration as seems to be the theme. Ideally you and a group of hungry friends who enjoy fresh stir-fry and salmon nigiri.

This place was disgusting!!! We went for my boyfriends birthday on a Friday night. The food tasted like it had been siting there since lunch time. They had the sushi just sitting out there in the heat which is why I did eat anything but their California rolls-mediocre at best. They served us this lobster with cheese which the lobster was pretty good but that plastic cheese sauce was disgusting. Even their ice cream seemed old. We were seated in an area isolated from everyone else. I frankly don't know why but I could tell you that we were ignored a lot. It took a while to get refills on our drinks or our plates cleared. It was the middle of summer so it was hot and all they had were some fans on with electric cords all over the place and I tripped and almost fell over some of them. We left quickly since we were hot and uncomfortable. And frankly the food was gross. I recommend going to in n out next door. I would rather wait in that long line than eat here again.

  • Vero G.

my friends came here for dinner thinking it would be fun. we were mistaken and quickly discouraged. They did not have as many choices as you would think. Sushi looked like it had been siting out for a bit and the worse thing is that they had fruit flies landing on the food. Needless to say we are not coming back again.

Just got back from a late dinner ($18.99/per adult) at Osaka Seafood Buffet. Today was their opening day and my roommates and I wanted to go check it out. Osaka's building used to be Minx Restaurant/Lounge and it shared a parking lot with In N Out... so it was a little crazy getting into the parking lot. Good selection - sushi, sashimi, bbq rib, steak, fishes, crab legs, orange chicken, miso soup, hot/sour soup, eggdrop soup... desert - fondue, wide variety of ice cream and yogurt, cookies, fruits, sugar covered nuts, cakes, banana cream with crackers... There's also a mongolian BBQ section where you can pick what you want and give it to a person to cook There's more food that I didn't know the names of. I'll try them next time I come back. We stayed till closing and most of the employees started serving themselves food from the bar. It says a lot to see employees eat the same food they are serving customers. The hosts and waiters were friendly and nice too. The place looks clean and new. There's outside seating and a heater. There's flat screen TVs and spacious walkway.

This place is CROWDED! There is a large selection and everything tasted average. I mainly tried their sushi which was okay...not much flavor. Their ice cream even lacked flavor. The service was horrible - you can tell the waiters were fed up with people and did not bother with a half smile. For the service alone, I probably will not go back.

I'm going to be reviewing on service, variety, taste, and overall value. I am also reviewing based on a curve because when I go to buffets, I expect to get a certain level of quantity-over-quality level food. We went on a Sunday and it was pretty busy so we were thinking "okay that's a good sign!". Yea, no. Service: Our server was nice but very unattentive. We ordered our drinks and headed to the buffet expecting our drinks to be at the table when we got back... We returned to a drinkless table and looked around for our server to find him zombied out in the middle of the dining area. Once we waved him down and signaled for drinks, he looked flustered and brought them over apologetically. Throughout our meal, the plates were cleared once and no refills were offered. We had to wave him down again for our check. Variety: Luckily, there was enough variety here for us to get full... As another reviewer mentioned, a lot of the food LOOKED good but I often took one bite and moved on. Overall, it's a Chinese buffet... not really a Japanese one (aside from the sushi selections). Taste: Meh. I've definitely had better elsewhere... neither the Chinese food nor the Seafood was worth mentioning (or returning for). The taste between batches was also inconsistent (from bland to salty). I don't know about you, but I expect desserts to be at least a LITTLE sweet! The desserts were all dry and practically tasted like bread. The clincher for me was the ice cream... There was a freezer w/ tubs of ice cream in it and the scoops were just sitting in the tubs of ice cream. HOW. IS. THIS. SANITARY?! Mental image: Little kids licking their fingers w/ ice cream on it and scooping repeatedly. Overall value: TERRIBLE. All of my previous statements are admittedly biased because of the price. We paid $47 for 2 people and both left unsatisfied because we felt ripped off. If you want something at least passable as decent buffet food for this price, I'd recommend Vegas Buffet in Glendale... Decent buffet w/ good variety. WORTH MENTIONING: The In and Out next door.

  • Christine M.

Not the GREATEST buffet but it's better than Kyoto on Glenoaks. They have a lot of places to sit and eat. Plus, they have a wide variety of things to eat! From Chinese to Mongolian Noodles to the famous Sushi bar! The dessert bar was all right. I was glad to see the chocolate fountain and the restaurant having bowls of strawberries and marshmallows next to the fountain. That was good for me! In terms of sushi, not impressed. I got this sushi and the filling was weird! Isn't sushi suppose to have fresh ingredients, not dry? Hmm.. I ate a really interesting sushi. It almost looked as if they put a can of tuna in there. I took a bite and I regretted it so much. The water from the wet tuna was absorbed by the rice and the seaweed. It was an interesting piece of sushi... Again, wide variety of Chinese food and other stuff to eat. It's a decent buffet. The outside seating areas seem like a waste. I wonder what they'll do to that.

    (3)
  • Esther L.

There's lots of selection, but the servers only speak in Chinese, which makes communication difficult. I didn't really enjoy anything except sashimi. Also, their soup was really good. I haven't been back though since the first visit though, and probably wouldn't return unless I were extremely hungry. The ambiance was sort of funky but not that bad. I really prefer Osaka over Kyoto, seems like they at least offer more and a higher quality of food.

This place has the looks of a $20 buffet but the service is not what I would expect from a $20 buffet ,cold food, some times raw meat, undercooked chicken , fruit flys every wear , and also seen the flys fall it the chocolate fountain

We have driven by this place on the 134 many times and we always wanted to eat there. We were really glad when less than a year ago we discovered it was a seafood buffet. So tonight we decided to try it. boy was that a mistake. We love sushi we live seafood, we love Japanese and Chinese food. This place was gross, the Sushi was old and fishy tasting. Even the Orange chicken was bad! We thought the saving grace was going to be the deserts but they had an ice cream bar with only one scooper for 5 different kinds of ice cream, and the water bucket that you were supposed to was the scoop in was dirty. UGH! What a disaster!

For a Buffet with lots of Chinese Food, not bad. Actually it was better than some other ones in the area. If you want great Sushi, better go to a Japanese owned one like Chiba in North Hollywood. These buffets deal on lots of quantity for the dollar. If you can eat like a horse, you can take advantage of the quantity. Service was good, folks were pleasant, and the restaurant is clean. Since I am on a low carb diet, there is plenty for me to eat, of course, no desserts.

The first night my wife and I went to this place we really enjoyed it. The service was great, the food was great, and the servers/attendants were pleasant and attentive. I took my son for dinner there the following week and we had an equally pleasant experience. BUT....I decided to take a group of 7 people for a late lunch. We arrived at about 3:30PM. Wow, I was so embarrassed with the people I brought with me because of how well I had talked about this restaurant, and I was embarrassed for the people that worked there. Apparently we got there at the transition of the lunch buffet over to the dinner buffet. They ended up putting out crab legs about 10 minutes after we got there. My son went and came back with crab legs and sat down. Immediately an attendant came over and was scolding him and practically trying to grab the crab legs away from him. My son was mortified and embarrassed, so was I. Then we were surrounded by 3-4 attendants demanding to know if we were there for lunch or dinner. They had a very bad attitude. Why didn't they ask or explain when we entered the resturant or were seated that we were in the transition period of lunch to dinner. The difference between the lunch items and dinner items and the prices of lunch vs dinner, instead of embarrassing my group. After I told the "gang" of attendants that surrounded our table that I would be paying the dinner rates, they backed off. Afterwards we were still treated rudely, they never came back to ask if we needed anything. I had to get up and find them to ask for more tea or more napkins, etc. Then in regards to the food, there were many items that they were out of, especially in the BBQ section. Just dirty, empty trays where the food was supposed to be. But they still somehow felt justified to charge dinner rates because we unknowingly "grabbed" crab legs. Shish! I thought I had found a very nice eating establishment, but we will never go back again. It burns me up that I made this place $160.00 richer for the privilege of being treated badly.

@ 5:00pm. Took a preview before we started and everything looked good. However, everything after that went downhill, except the Teppan grill. Sushi was old, rice was hard, hot dishes were all old and stale. Crab legs were ice cold as well. Teppan ingredie

Cons: For 17.99 on an early evening for early dinner not worth it. I did not know what was what since the labels for many of the items were not put on yet. O.K. sushi, their asian cuisine was prob the best looking one. Butter sauce for crab legs need to be right nxt to crab, the crab legs "cracking tool" needs to be around also, I had to hunt someone down to get one and walked up and down looking for the butter sauce; not cool if you're hungry and just want to seat and start eating. Mongolian food looked (again) OK... did not try it. There is some steak in the area btw, we missed it. Overall, nothing remarkable and for a 430pm 17.99 dinner not worth it, unless all you're having is crab legs, steak and oysters. We're locals so we may be back for their 10.99 lunch. Pros: Free parking, lots of desserts!

not sure why this place is still open. RUDENESS is not a quality this restaurant should be proud of. Upon entrance a manger looking guy is not happy that we came to eat, he looked like "he'd rather be somewhere else other than in this place". The service is non-existent, the server assigned to our table has a terrible attitude. Each time we asked her for a drink, it seemed like we are bothering her. We tried to thank her each time she brought drinks to the table but that did not change her attitude. The variety and quality of food does not even measure up to Todai and that is NOT saying a lot. It is a restaurant a SERVICE oriented business, I hope the workers here would be clearly informed on what is "expected" in a service oriented business. I will never go back, a total waste of time and any restaurant in Chinatown, Japanese town or Glendale will taste better than this place. I hope this establishment close soon for the benefit of the public !

pros: clean decor and layout. Plenty of parking. Plenty of seating. Good Korean Short ribs (for a buffet the ribs have been marinaded well and beef quality is good). The grilled sea bass and grilled spicy calamari is also very good. The Chinese food section of the buffet is also very good. A bit on the salty side though. The watermelon and honey dew melon is also fresh. Service during my visit was also good. The used plates get picked up right away and the hot water for tea gets filled right away. cons: The sushi section of the buffet is just plain average or below average and is in need of improvement as. The pastry part of the dessert section is in need of improvement as the pastries were very dry. recommendation: Come here for the chinese food and the korean short ribs, grilled sea bass and spicy calamari. I would dine here again. Remember folks that this place is a Los Angeles buffet so dont expect Las Vegas, Nevada quality.

All-you-can-eat sushi! Yum! I came here with my boyfriend for lunch. He's a big guy so he took advantage of the buffet which is Las Vegas-style. He especially liked the BBQ short ribs and the sushi. I had New York steak and vegetables. The servers were nice and attentive. Will definitely return!

Someone I said this place was good, like five ppl I know said it was one of the best buffet for the Price ... I don't trust them Any More. Every time I listen to other ppl and try it, I tell myself, don't listen to others. Maybe because I don't like buffet but its not that great...its ok. I guess its like cheaper version of todai. I would spend $4 and go to vegas buffet in glendale ( if u like seafood) but if you rather save $4 and eat something similar to vegas buffet I recommend this place. I think many would like this place if they generally like buffet but I would never go again.. Maybe for lunch ...no probably not. I gave three stars because, they are clean, easy parking, pretty good location, good service and they are affordable. Food quality is ok and taste ok too. If you love buffet, you will like this place and if you don't like buffet, do not go!

Enormous buffet - wide variety of everything, sushi (good quality sushi grade fish and fresh rolls), dim sum (bao pork buns, dumplings), raw and cooked seafood (crab, oysters, octopus), Chinese food (10 varieties of dishes), Mongolian BBQ (we didn't try but meats looked good), desert bar with chocolate fountain for strawberries and pineapples, 50 dessert choices, soft serve and freezer full of self - dipped quality ice creams). Kids called it heaven- like. Most things were good, some very good and some okay. They don't have liquor license yet. Price was $19 for adults and approx dollar per year/ age for kids. We will definitely go back.

Today, a few of my friends wanted to chill and hang and have lunch. Osaka Seafood Buffet was suggested. So I rolled up the freeway to a part of Glendale I didn't know existed! We were greeted by a hostess in a striped shirt with looks to match her personality:UGULY! She murmured "u camu disu uway!" No hello,no welcome to "Osaka"I guess she didn't wanna be there. This was the worst attitude I've run across and this isn't even a super exclusive high end establishment, quite far from it! Maybe she needed to get "laid" lol! I would of helped her but she was too fugly!!jk! Now to the food it has your regular machine made sushi and hot items. The only good about the hot buffet was the the massive selection! dim sum,all the way to Mongolian BBQ! the only thing worth mention was their garlic shrimp and chicken teriyaki. Their yakitori on the other hand looked like they have been recycling it for a few days! I've seen fresher looking meat on surgical cadavers! lol!! The only sushi safe enough to eat would be the shrimp sushi(its cooked)! not sure how fresh the sashimi and raw sushi is as it looked kind of off colored to me. Once is enough for me! don't expect to go back any day soon! Though some of the servers were cute! That may be the only upside

If you've ever been to a Chinese-operated buffet, this is actually pretty good by those standards. I believe that coming here for a weekday lunch is the best balance between quality and pricing, since it is only $10.99 for the decent food you get here. I've been to the other Osaka buffet in Brea, and I think the quality pretty much matches up with that one. The sushi section, like the one in Brea, was a bit disappointing though, as there was more California roll variety than actual sashimi. I was quite surprised by the nice selection of desserts, especially the ice cream variety. The dessert section here is better than the one in Brea, and is way better than many other Chinese-operated buffets, especially the fact that you can scoop all the ice cream you want, with many different flavors. Worth a try, especially for weekday lunch.

this greedy restaurant has put signs up (in the parking lot that they SHARE with in-n-out) that we (patrons of in-n-out) cant park there and we are banned to a small section whist they have the majority even though in-in-out has WAAAAAAY more customers. i am sorry but that is wrong. you SHARE the parking lot and i dont want to worry that theyre gonna call a tow truck and have my car towed while i am inside enjoying my double double.

I like this place but only because they have a mongolian section where they cook food for you which is a cool pluz for a chinese/japanese seafood buffet. Im not a fan of the sushi but I have always been picky about that because I like it to be made fresh and in front of me. They have a chocolate fountain which is also cool and have thrifty ice cream you scoop yourself. Went on a Saturday afternoon and wasnt really busy but that place is huge so I dont think you would have to worry about seating much. They supposedly have lobster but the waiters dont really respond to questions so I dont know much about that, lol... Otherwise I like this place and will be coming back for sure. ;)

Ok so the venue is pretty chill, I ate here because I was visiting someone at the hospital across the street. It was a sunday, not sure if their menu is different than on week days but they had so much variety. Sashimi, Raw Oysters, Lobster Claws, Baked oyster lobster and scallops, all you other typical fried noodles, rice and other Chinese dishes. Another cool part was the meat section and the Mongolian bbq section. So the selection is there but they failed in the execution of cooking everything correctly. The meats were really dry and chewey, the mongolian bbq meat was good though. The lobster claws reminded me of salty salmon.... very rubbery and over cooked or something. Salmon sashimi bomb tho and so were the oysters. Chinese food was good too. Tuna tasted a bit old/odd to me. Also their wasabi does not look like real wasabi and it tasted weird. When i dipped sashimi in it, it had a sandy texture because of the wasabi.

WARNING DO NOT EAT AT Osaka Seafood Buffet! I am not a big fan of buffets to begin with, so it comes as no surprise to me that Osaka seafood buffet in Glendale is just another slop house. Don't judge a book by its cover friends, this place in a lovely hill top setting that can capacitate 500 is only pretty from the outside. Its the former location of The Rusty Pelican & Minx. The food is terrible cheep quality, hardly any staff speak english, and the table service is so so. I would say bad service but my cousin and sister think the waiter was hot. I asked the sushi chef to prepare something with octopus, he didn't seem to understand, he also turned his back to me conversing while people waited.I asked another person behind the sushi bar for (Tako thats octopus in japanese) he turned to the Sushi Chef I was addressing earlier and he turned around and in perfect english said octopus and slapped 3 slices on my plate an were laughing amongst themselves.I said "Kikoeta wa yo! Shitsurei ne!(I heard you how rude!) I ate one slice and it was rancid. I feel sorry for whom ever has to wash the table napkins. They did have crab but didn't know what a crab cracker was.The crab was dry too. The chowmein noodles were refrigerator cold, probably left overs.I saw them treat other customers badly. Telling some only one piece was allowed after giving someone else 2. Um hello its a buffet? Its not worth 18.99. The only good things were the beef n asparagus, the ice tea and the ice cream that was obviously a commercial brand. I seriously contemplated going to the in n out burger right next-door. If a buffet is your thing I would highly recommend Vegas buffet also located in Glendale and Hollywood, for about a buck or two more you get authentic, well seasoned, higher quality food in a convenient location. FORGET ABOUT GOING TO OSUCKA SHI? FOOD BUFFET!

I was excited to be back here after I went with a couple of friends, but was not to happy with the selection of food. The place was empty, maybe that's the reason for lack of selection. Plus, I went after 3:30 therefore the price went up from $10 to $18. I probably won't be back here again, specially after 3:30. I recommend this place for lunch, but not for dinner. The service is so so....

My mom and I went there today for dinner around 6 pm on a Tuesday night. Not many people were there. The food is dry which suggests it has been sitting out for a loooong time. The food is hit and miss. Crab was dry and flavorless. The octopus salad was actually rancid! My mom gracefully spit it out and told the server. The server came back and said that it wasn't refrigerated. Gee, I wonder why it was spoiled. An hour or so later she experienced the runs. Upon paying and leaving no tip, we left. She told the male staff at the front (I assume could be the manager) that the food was very dry and not fresh. Needless to say, AVOID THIS PLACE! I have a feeling this place won't last long with the current management.

I'm giving this place a one star because zero was not an option. Food was so tasteless and service was horrible! I couldn't even take 2 bites of one item. Sushi was not fresh. Chow mien tasted like boiled noodles with a little soy sauce. Absolutely no flavor. Oysters were not good and not a big variety of seafood. Last but not least, the dessert was really bad. Tasted like airplane food. Such a disappointment. I can't understand how this place will stay in business. I definitely will not be going back.

lots of things to choose from, however, the quality were not very good. 50% edible the other half you may want to try at your own risk. seafood were not very fresh cake were hard (seem like it's been there for a good while) green tea ice cream doesn't taste green tea what I like about this place is that service is good place is clean the korean style bbq rib is very good dim sum over all were good price is reasonable

The parking was not so good. I don't know where all the cars were from since the place was just a little more than half full. We would have just drove though and left but luck would have it and someone just pulled out. I like the layout and the price was fair. Nothing special here. I would come back if in the area and not to compete with In-N-Out next door.

This place is the bomb! I came here with my family on a Friday night. It was a little empty so I'm leaving this review in hopes that it'll boost their sales and stick around because I'm not sure if it will at this rate. Anyway, the location is really nice. The restaurant is on a slight hill so you feel kind of special and see the highways above outside like you're eating in gattaca or something. The dinner price was $19.99 and each person gets their own half lobster. Pretty awesome. Also, heaps of salmon and other sashimi which I think is a great deal for the price. If you want to get dinner with the family, it's a nice relaxed spot to go to. Happy eating!

Such a wide selection. Definitely one of the best buffets I've been to.

  • Bofa S.

Even though the sushi looked good, it was bad. Most of the sushi had been sitting for long periods of time and it was too chewy. The other dishes were average tasting. Nothing great. Honestly, I would rather have spent the $15 at a good Chinese food place and have bought one good dish instead of an average buffet.

Went to the place with my wife and couple friends the other day. The store is nicely decorated. Unlike some other buffet places, the food bar areas are well lit. I like it because it has many selections of hot food and sushi. Love the Mongolian BBQ and my wife really likes the ice cream bar. Will definitely come back again.

I went here a couple of weeks ago and it was during lunch time on a wednesday a bit slow in terms of crowd which was nice. They have a choc fountain fondue and a little bit of everything with a mongolian station. I tried their seafood, their greenbeans, tofu and a little bit of the dim sum. The dim sum was old and not good sadness :(....The service was pretty quick the waiters cleared out the tables pretty quickly but no refills on the water either. I would say the food is decent not bad.... Plus the atmosphere is nice reminiscent of old day japan, but I believe ran by Chinese people oddly enough. I like buffets and for the price this is soooooooooo much better than Makinos in Irvine in terms of value, price and service.

Wow, what a disappointment! Unless they improve the quality of foods it is not worth it. I am sure there are people would not agree with me but I joined yelps today to write the review for the first time. It is up to you but most of you will disappoint with their foods.

  • Christina M.

This place is just OK. It's nothing special and is way too overpriced. Their dessert section is disappointing and they only have one scooper for everyone to use that sits in dirty water. Gross! The service could be better also. Not very friendly and we had to wait what seemed like forever to get refills.

Since I'm familiar with this chain and my work is nearby I thought why not check out this place. This location use to be Minx the location can be seen from the freeway. The inside is nice with lots of windows around. Apparently they opened at 11 am but was delayed till 11:30 am. As i went in some of the foods were missing and there were no food ids. The sushi were not fresh and cold. The chinese food was edible. The dessert cakes tasted stale not delicious. The fruits were good. The frozen yogurt was bland but the ice cream was the best part!

so-so i went here with the family for lunch, and we were expecting something like Vegas buffet. Appearance : 9.5/10 very classy and nice. Food : 5/10 The food was only okay, and the selection was very limited. I thought the basil clams were too salty. Dessert : 6/10 The dessert area had somewhat of a good selection. I tried most of the cakes, and I didn't really like them. The ice cream was the best part for me though. There was a whole freezer full of different flavors. You scoop it yourself and determine how ever much you want. There was also fruit and other sweets. Overall, this buffet wasn't that good. Its sorta new,and the decor is really nice, but we came for the food. The food wasn't really good. We don't think we will be coming back here.

I was excited to try this place out in the beginning, because I thought it'd be a higher end version of vegas seafood buffet in town. but i was quite dissapointed by their service and food. Their servers gave me lemon and water when I asked for lemonade....Was this a practical joke or what?

  • Eric t.

I actually thought this place, for the genre, had decent selection. The sushi wasn't bad. I usually hate japanese buffets (or buffets in general) but this wasn't that bad I guess. I don't know if I'd be compelled to come back still, i usually only get dragged to these kind of places.

On our quest to find a good buffet we heard rumors of this place. I went on yelp.... saw the reviews but still decided to try. Well. I have confirmed, this place is just what the reviews say. And all the flies that keep buzzing around make it hella annoying. Oh and they need a better A/C system. It's quite hot and ice cream is melting and it's just not that great. Food is average. Nothing was good enough to get seconds of. Hopefully they will come around to what they used to be.

Other recent reviewers of the 1-star and 2-star variety perfectly captured our experience this evening so I won't repeat anything they have already done such a great job of articulating. Just wanted to add this much to the conversation: we are a family of four who had our first visit to Osaka. We live nearby and we have Chinese heritage in our family so we are familiar with the AYCE Asian seafood buffet concept. We enjoyed other Asian buffets we've been to in LA and elsewhere in the state. In any event, tonight was a complete and utter disappointment on this familiar theme. Overpriced, lackluster food, miserable service, smelly restrooms. Then to top it off, the staff cleaned up a sizable mess other customers had left behind at the table next to ours, and to our astonishment, when they were done they left the broom & mop laying on the floor next to us for the remainder of our meal. Bad show folks, seriously. Another thing that put our teeth on edge was discovering they are serving shark fin soup (amusingly spelled "shrakfin soup" on the display card). I won't swear it was in fact actual, real shark fin soup, but it looked close enough, plus that's what the card said. Sorry Osaka-san, but shark fin soup is a big no-no in this enlightened culture. And like other commentators have noted, we felt ripped off when we got the bill. $97 for 3 adults and one 10-year old (our meal included 1 beer and 2 soft drinks). Being the nice guy I am, and despite the lousy service, I felt obliged to add a little tip so we broke over the $100 barrier for this miserable experience. At this point they could offer us a free meal and I would refuse to go back, we disliked it that much. Sayonara Osaka Seafood Buffet! I predict you will soon go the way of Minx.

My parents really wanted to try this place for Thanksgiving. I was hesitant after reading all the reviews. But so glad we went anyway! It's a deal for a $21.99 asian buffet. The food was great, chocolate fondu was fun, real scope ice cream was a treat, selection of sushi was plentiful, big hot entree selection, fresh food, nice ambiance, service was attentive, and clean (except the restrooms I will say). 4 stars for now, but I'll have to go back another time another time to see how consistent Osakas is.

Great buffet option. Such a great variety of food and for so cheap! So much to choose from and all done so well! The sushi isn't the best, but what do you expect from a buffet place? Food is usually always stocked up and fresh. And who can go wrong serving Thrifty ice cream? The green tea ice cream is the best!

ZERO STARS!!!!! I went here last night and got a fine case of food poisoning. I have been to many Chinese/seafood buffets and this is the first time I have EVER gotten sick. Extreme pain in the stomach sick. And I did not even touch the sushi!! The hot food was cold and the cold food was hot, not a good combo. Plus they did not have enough serving spoons so you had to use ones from different dishes. Not sure what made me sick, as I tried the wontons, coconut shrimp, white rice, the crab legs were cold and slimy, and there was odd flavor in some of the dishes I ate. Should have stopped right there. Nothing was worth the $17.99 price tag; in fact I would not eat her again if someone PAID ME!! I read the reviews, and thought I would go ahead and try it anyway, BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!! Save yourself the pain of getting sick and making your wallet lighter. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I am sure if the health dept went there right now they would get a D RATING!

Used to go to the Rusty Pelican years ago. Minx bombed once the Armenians stopped patronizing the nightclub. We have been watching the transformation to Osaka Seafood since it is literally 10 minute walking distance from my home. I think these reviews just saved us a night of listening to waiters argue in a foreign language, giving me a blank stare when I ask a question other than what they memorized in English, bad sushi, bad soda and a $50.00 bill. Thanks everyone on Yelp.

Came here on a weekday for dinner and i can say this is the worst sushi buffet ever. I cant believe the food is priced at 17.99 for this quality. Service is horrible and the manager and the servers were constanly arguing loudly enough to make dining enough to make us uncomfortable. There were two servers that kept chatting in the corner and obviously about the customers and staring as we eat. Horibble. They dont even have the items in that they stated on the business card! No yellowtail, no uni etc when we asked the chef for those he said that they dont have them so we asked the server to check with the manager and he never got back to us. Obviously they dont have it. Why would they lie about this?! Never coming here again. Id rather pay 2$ more and go to vegas buffet.

This restaurant is pretty easy to find. It shares the same parking lot as In N Out. Their is alot of parking available, unless it's dinner time then it might be a little difficult to find parking. The decor is pretty nice for a buffet. The restaurant is pretty spacious with new and modern furniture. There's also outside seating for to dine al fresco weather permitting. It's a typical buffet with a meat station, mongolian bbq or teppan and of course the sushi/seafood section. I like the way everything is separated according to the categories mentioned above. From the grill, I would say the short ribs and grilled seabass was pretty good. The squid was on the tough side and I didn't dare try the roast beef as I know that places like this do not do that any justice. Next to it is the mongolian/teppan section where you pick your raw meat and veggies and hand them to a cook and he will cook them for you. Nothing fancy about this so I didn't bother with it. They have about 15 or so different rolls and also sashimi. Although, I thought the sashimi was sliced on the thicker side. I tried a couple of bites of the sashimi and it was bland and taste like what previously frozen food would taste like. They also had some dim sum items that was pretty bad. It's shameful how they could feed this kind of food to people and call it dim sum. I just hope people don't think this is what dim sum tastes like. They have 3 different styles of crab (cooked with garlic, steamed and cold), baked scallops, baked oysters, raw oysters, cocktail shrimp, garlic shrimp, coconut shrimp, etc. There's also a chocolate fountain, soft served ice cream and also a freezer where you can scoop your own ice cream (vanilla yogurt, green tea, rainbow sherbet, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate). Overall, I would have to say that the food was ok. Nothing great about it that was memorable and would make me want to come back. For $19, I think it was a little steep for the kind of food quality they offer. I'd rather go to Zen buffet and spend less for the same type of food. If you are really itching to go to this buffet, I would suggest you go during lunch or on the weekdays when it's a little cheaper. Don't bother going on the weekends as they charge dinner price ($19) all day. I didn't really like the food so I left feeling I should have eaten more. I was actually thinking of going over to In N Out for a burger to fill me up. But I didn't. One thing that was positive about this place was the wait staff. They were attentive and cleared our tables and refilled our drinks promptly.

  • Chungae P.

The food at this buffet was mediocre. The buffet is split into three different sections. The first section was the sushi area. I expected there to be fresh sushi and uni, but it was mainly california rolls. The second section was the fried food and dim sum area. They put fried rice, chow mein, and a couple of selections for the dim sum. They also had fried butterfly shrimp and french fries -.-. The third section consisted of a salad area and dessert. I think the highlight of the buffet was the ice cream. The waiters and waitresses didnt really care to check up on our table and we had to consistently ask for water and napkins. They also seem like they hated their jobs..I think if the food was better with better service, i think my experience eating at this restaurant wouldve been a lot better. This is just my opinion, but i would choose vegas seafood buffet over this one any day.

As far as Asian-themed buffets go, I was quite underwhelmed. Let's start with the food since that's the most important part. The sushi is about as standard as it gets; I'm not expecting much, but that can't be a buffet's selling point when there's many other places with sushi of equal or better quality within a 10 mile radius. Selection was kind of middle-of-the-field with respect to other buffets. They had several kinds of meat, but most of it was poorly cooked and either very fatty or mostly bone. They do have a station where you can put together your own meats and veggies and they'll cook it up with noodles for you which is nice since who knows how long the rest of the food has been sitting out there. They had six different kinds of soup which was pretty cool, but you can only drink so much soup... The rest of the fare is the standard Americanized Chinese food (i.e. saltier sauce, kind of like Panda Express). I'm not sure if it's because we went with some relatives who speak Chinese, but they brought us this "special" of lobster tails with cheese that I didn't see anyone else get (they also didn't say a thing when they gave it to us). I like lobsters and cheese, just not together. It was kind of disgusting actually considering the cheese was melted over the top like a pizza, so you couldn't even pull it off. That being said, I'm normally a big eater at buffets, even of subpar quality, just to get my money's worth, but what really killed my appetite was when I went to pick up a new plate and saw a piece of dried fish stuck to another plate. I didn't really want to touch any of their stuff after that... Also, they have some fresh fruit over by the dessert (which features a chocolate fountain by the way); my friend mistook some mangoes for apples because they were so brown and clearly had been sitting too long. Like other people have said, trust your gut and go where everyone else is going - In-N-Out.

I tried this place out for lunch today and it was just okay. It wasn't terrible, but I've had much better. Most of the food just wasn't very tasty. Todai in Arcadia and Onami in Torrance are much better bets.

  • Daimici R.

Service was very good! I came during lunch. I went straight for the sushi and it was messy. Don't know if a kid came by and decided to play with the food or what happened. I tried the cooked food, that was good. Stick with that! Sushi was okay. My cooked shrimp and mussels was a bit tough that I had a hard time detaching it from it's shells. My last bite was the cold shrimp that you peel and dip into a cocktail sauce. That was my best bite. lol For dessert I got a brownie and topped it with chocolate ice cream. It was labeled rocky road but it was actually chocolate. After I tried the brownie, I noticed it was very tangy. I wasn't sure if there was something wrong or maybe it was really some kind of raspberry brownie and it wasn't labeled correct. They have many different flavors of ice cream. Chocolate fountain that you can dip marshmallows and strawberries. If you like Chinese buffets then it's a place to try.

yummy buffet. it's really good for the price. i don't know why this place got bad reviews. i mean, you can't expect a 5$ wine to taste like a 100$ wine but like any other thing in the world, this place meets my expectations as far as price goes. it had okay sushi rolls and pretty much the same thing any other chinese buffet would have. it also has a mongolian sections which i didn't get to try but it's cool to have =) there was a chocolate fountain, delicious pasties, and an ice cream and yogurt section. i'm definitely returning soon.

Wow. I don't understand all of these lousy reviews. Maybe people have very high expectations of what you typically find at a buffet like this. I went last night (Monday night, dinner) with my other half and my parents who are in from out of town. They love chinese buffets. We weren't expecting much after seeing all of these bad reviews but we were very pleasantly surprised. Lots of seafood, lots of varieties and amounts of sushi/sashimi, also a station where you pick out all your veggies and meat and someone fries it all up (like a Mongolian barbecue). I wasn't impressed with the sushi quality but the parents loved it. Big, meaty king crab (or snow crab?) legs that were great! Decent cold steamed shrimp, fat tasty garlic shrimp, honey walnut shrimp. I can understand some folks' complaints that there weren't enough "traditional" chinese dishes but there were plenty for us - and come on, it's a seafood buffet. Yes, it's a little pricey but considering how many crab legs and shrimp we ate, I think we got our money's worth. You're not eating at the Ritz-Carlton, it's a chinese seafood buffet. Quality was better than we expected.

I wish I had read the reviews before I tried this place. Lots of selection but not well done. Beware of any place that makes rolls with lots of spicy sauce, it's to cover the smell of bad fish. Also I guess they were trying to address the issue of cleaniness that others stated in previous views, unfortunately it was by mopping the floor during the beginning of the dinner hours using the strongest bleach smelling mop water. I actually started getting sick as I am highly allergic to bleach. I paid my bill and I will not be back.

Wide selection of Asian dishes. Great value fir the price. Highlights: raw oysters, kalbi, sushi, and thrifty ice cream! Despite previous reviews, service was great! They must have fixed the calibration on the soda machine because that was some of best tasting Coca Cola I have had in awhile. Servers were attentive as we never had to ask for refills. Over all, very good experience. Definitely would come here again.
