Hands down the best teriyaki place I've ever had. It's not the usual dry and blah a lot of places do. This one has its unique flavor and kick! I usually get the pork with noodles and rice and a side of Kevin's (that's the owner) spicy red sauce. I have been going to this place for about 9 years and me and my entire family keeps coming back even if we live in the OC now. It is definitely worth the drive. It may be a little hole in the wall but it is a special place. Clean and organized. The place's interior has improved a lot and it just keeps getting better. Food quality tastes the same and it never diminishes. The owner Kevin is always friendly with us and knows my sister's usual. I believe he has the same worker/cook with him all this time so trust that food will always have the same awesome taste! Don't even get me started with the price. It is super affordable with the amount of food you get. So if ever you are in Glendale and is craving some good food come over to Mitzee!

My car was being worked on at one of the nearby dealerships, so I decided to walk over for lunch. It's not really "Korean food", which is why I walked in. They do have 2 Korean BBQ options, but the rest of the menu is Teriyaki items or Mongolian beef/chicken. They do also have a ramen. I ordered the small mongolian chicken and replaced the rice with extra veggies. Everyone was pleasant and friendly they had no issues with me replacing the rice with veggies as some people do. Pricing is good for lunch. You can get anything on the menu for around $5-$8 I believe. If I lived or worked in the area, it would be a go-to lunch spot for me. It got pretty busy, but my food came out within 5 minutes I walked over, but there's also a parking lot for easy access.

I live just right across the street from this place. It's an amazing teriyaki restaurant, and it's worth the price. Owner is very convivial towards his customers so worrying about the people won't be a problem.

My ex didn't like chow mein but now I'm single so I can come get the best fried noodles in town anytime I want! It's good to be free. This place is really delicious. The sauce is so spicy and tangy. I love that they serve your noodle dish with steamed rice as well. That is the icing on the cake for a carb junkie like myself. I don't do beef or chicken but they offer shrimp or squid if that floats your boat. And oh yeah...they are quick, really nice and consistent!

I decided to come check this place out for dinner after reading all the yelp reviews. This place is literally a "hole in the wall." There was a total for 2 people working, one of which was the "cook" I assume and the other the cash register. I got the chicken teryaki and it came with noodles and veggies. I thought it tasted okay... what kind of threw me off was that when I came in to order, I saw there were already what looked like chicken breast that had been cooked and was just sitting on the grill, and I'm not sure how long. I think the cook pre-heated the chicken, because mine was a little bit dry. Would I come back? I'm not sure. Should you try it... sure if you're in the area and hungry.

Nice little hole in the wall of a joint but the food is great . Will be back for sure !!!

    (4)
  • Jong Woo L.

This place is so good!! The hot sauce is very flavorful, but seriously hot, so be careful with that. Best chicken or steak teriyaki I've had in a long time.

    (5)
  • Monique B.

Good prices, good food, good service...kimchi was on point!

    (4)
  • Jay C.

I was not very impressed here. I ordered the noodles and the beef bowl and they both tasted the same--very over-sauced. Even with the sauce, it was quite bland.

  • V E.

Check out my tagline: I'm all about hole in the wall restaurants, and this is truly one such "hole." I love that one guy in the corner was preparing my food on a griddle the size of a pizza box. The food was hot and fresh, although we waited a good 20 minutes despite beating the lunch rush (we couldn't beat the phone-in rush). However, the food was missing something - I can't quite put my finger on it, other than to call it bland. It wasn't spicy or tangy, as other reviewers have said. The pricing was high for terriyaki. Maybe the cost is for plating the food, but I'd rather have a foam box nonetheless. Our group was unimpressed. We could think of 3 other terriyaki joints we would rather patronize in the area. Sorry guys. "Meh. I've experienced better" is actully 2 stars, but I gave 3 because I support small businesses.

    (3)
  • Arlene T.

It's a mom and pop type restaurant that has pretty good teriyaki food located in a small market place near a Domino's pizza and some other small businesses. Parking isn't very big but you shouldn't have a problem finding a spot. The owner is super friendly. Their food portions are huge and are reasonably priced. I tried the beef and chicken combo that comes with rice, veggies and some chow mein in a small size which was more than enough for me. We will definitely come back when I'm craving something with teriyaki.

    (4)
  • Jay B.

    Quite good! Fast & tasty.

    (4)
  • Cris G.

Why people would get Japanese food at a Korean restaurant just baffles me. This is why there are so many shitty reviews on this website. People are too stupid to eat the right food at the right places.

    (1)
  • Megan B.

This place is super good and a great deal. The owner is very nice and personable which makes for a better experience. I heard about this place through a friends recommendation and I'm really happy I tried it out!

    (5)
  • Leyva R.

Small restaurant I take my food to go, but the food is so worth it. I love the teriyaki chicken here!

    (4)
  • Cesar S.

I live a block away and never saw this place. Been here twice in less than a week. Delicious, fast, greasy food. Definitely come everyday for lunch!

    (5)
  • Mick S.

Mitzee is owner operated, He is very good man he is there from open to close. I love to go there for lunch time. Excellent chicken Teriyaki I usually get it with extra Rice. Noodles is good as well Love this place

    (5)
  • Krispy W.

Let's see.....for around $10 I get the beef teriyaki with no rice and double the beef. It's pretty good, for a large plate of food for 10 smackers. Quick stop for lunch. DO IT!!!!!

    (3)
  • Edgar S.

Amazing flavor and great service. My all time favorite chow mein. Hats off to the chef great person and great cook.

    (5)
  • Conure M.

I recently tried this place, and I gotta say it was very good. The menu is pretty straight forward, and everything is cooked to order from what I could tell. It looks like the owner was there, and from the looks of it, he always is. Very nice person, you can tell he cares. For the price, I got a lot of food on my plate. It filled me up well and I was very satisfied with the quality of the food. Im looking forward to trying other plates. Oh and before I forget, this is worth mentioning since most places screw this part up bad. The beef here is great. It was tender and flavorful, not chewy and disgusting with the consistency of gum. So if you like teriyaki beef, try this place out. Im sure you will like it. Im sure its a different cut of beef, a better one. Ill be back.

    (5)
  • Jose S.

This place is so good it's definatly become my comfort food ill eat it whenever I feel sick or tiered.

    (5)
  • Edwin S.

The large Chicken Teriyaki is amazing every time. I don't think I've eaten a better meal for $7.50. Can't even finish it, it's so much food.

    (5)
  • Samantha R.

Great local Korean restaurant with awesome Teriyaki. I have eaten Korean style BBQ that my friends used to cook and it was always the best., but Mitzee would give them a run for their money. Both the chicken and beef are excellent and they have take-out which makes this place a winner. Plus the location is perfect.

    (4)
  • Kristi G.

I was introduced to Mitzee by my husband. I always order the same thing...the beef and chicken teriyaki platter with noodles and no rice! It's the perfect dish for us to share. Great food! Thanks Kevin and Ghandi for always being fabulous!

  • Taco L.

Small place but awesome beef teriyaki its a tiny divey place but yummy food

    (4)
  • Rafael C.

Had the Noodle Soup today much needed on this windy cold day great flavor, and had it spicy so it felt great. Always a place to have a good meal also ordered side of egg rolls, with a row of spare ribs and my fiance' had our usual always great meal and service

    (5)
  • Chef S.

This is hands down the worst teriyaki I have ever had. Don't waste your money. My chicken was old, reheated and dry. The noodles were burnt and the veggies are frozen. It went straight in the garbage after one bite.

    (1)
  • Renren V.

one word: YUM! Jared's two words: yey Teriyaki! (plus: I want more!) hubby's four words: good food, great service. We come here aLOT. And we always leave happy. Enough said.

    (5)

Ãœber friendly staff ( 2 guys ) that run the place. Great food at very reason prices. Food are made to order so "NO" heat lamps!

  • Nancy R.

Been coming to this little place for the past 10 years, the food has so much flavor and it hasn't changed since. I've had everything on the menu and not once have I been dissapointed. The hot sauce is out of this world amazingly hot, can not have my food without it. Very friendly owner and cook. I just love this place all around :)

    (5)
  • Alexander L.

I love this place, I get it almost everyday for lunch. The Mandarin & regular teriyaki plates are super tasty. Highly recommended.

    (5)
  • Indah K.

Great food!!! Been coming here for years!! I live far now.. But I keep coming back!!!

    (5)
  • Chan J.

I love this place. It's Korean fusion. I go here a lot for lunch because it's near work. It's also priced very good for the amount of food you get. Which is very hard to find here in LA. There are many places like this in Chicago. Everything is made on the spot. I have referred a lot of people for them from. Everybody agreed that the food is great. I highly recommend.

    (4)
  • Thomas R.

Good food at a nice little whole in the wall, its fusion Korean and Japanese. The food is good and not to costly over all a good place to go for a quick asian bite.

    (4)
  • Wilmer M.

Great little hole in the wall place.. been coming here for years and the workers are really friendly and the food is always great.

    (5)
  • Chan K.

The best teriyaki ever! Great service And great food! You have to try it if you are around!

    (5)
  • Chris G.

My favorite place to eat bar none! The definitive "hole in the wall" - the best place to eat that you've probably never heard of. The chicken and beef Teriyaki dishes are delicious, ample and very reasonably priced. Add some of their special hot sauce - which I devour - and my mouth salivates before I've taken a single bite. My buddies and I come here almost weekly and I'm never disappointed. I discovered Mitzee's 20 years ago and if I had to pick a place for my "last meal", this would be the place. Thanks to Kevin and Ghandi. You guys are the best!

    (5)
  • Javier S.

Well I'm currently here now, but all I can say is this place is bomb. I've been coming since I was young, and have always felt it is the best Korean food that I have ever had. The only bad thing is they changed the recipe of the sauce, but if your not a long time customer you won't be bothered because it is still good. The customer service is really great they greet with a smile every time lol. This place is great, if your in Glendale this is a great hidden gem you have to stop by and check out.

**note** i believe the sign out front says "mitzee teriyaki." this is a small, korean restaurant that's usually meant for take-out, but you'll occasionally see small groups of locals dining inside. it's a family own/run business with the exception of the cook name candy (not sure of correct spelling). they're very friendly and serve up a tasty chicken teriyaki that always hits the spot... and please make sure that you can see some teriyaki sauce over the order b/c as much as i like the chicken, it's the sauce that makes or breaks the dish. sometimes when i phone in for a pick-up, i always make sure now that they didn't run out of sauce since i was left with maybe a ladel full (at most) one time and found out the hard way how much it contributed to the taste. it was a sad dinner. that was in the very beginning, but now that i'm a usual suspect, they pretty much know how much i love the sauce. the menu is fairly small and for some dishes, essentially a variation of similar ingredients. i've tried the bowls, teriyakis, chow mein dishes, and soup. they're all pretty good and as i said, similar in some respect. i now basically just stick to the chicken teriyaki, but if you want some added veges, you may want to try the mongolian chicken/beef bowls. here's a link to their menu. menupix.com/menudirector… overall, solid dishes and friendly people equals 4 stars from me. nothing fancy, but it keeps me going back for more. enjoy..

I've been coming to this spot since I was a kid with my parents and recently rediscovered it. And I am Glad I did! It's just as delish as I remembered ! Great chicken, teriyaki sauce is bomb, rice is perfectly cooked, and noodles are amazing! Oh and the hot sauce is pretty damn good to! Another hidden jem! Give them a try, you won't be sorry !

  • Peng G.

are you f kidding me? I can't believe this is an asian restaurant. I like Mexico food however the Mexican cook just make everything more than worse. From I steped into the "restaurant" there was a fly playing with me. The rice is ok, the chicken and noodles are apparently kept for too long time. And "coincidently" because the cook are talking with someone, most of chicken and noodles are over cooked. In summary, one star is over praise, the food is not korean or asian food, and it tasted as "mierda", worst food I've taken in US. (I travel more than 30 states and thousands of restaurants)

    (1)
  • Cara H.

I really enjoyed the teriyaki chicken at Mitzee and I'm super picky about teriyaki sauce and chicken thighs. I'm from Hawaii where we have great teriyaki sauces, Mitzees tasted homemade, Korean - style; it was yummy! I also like that the chicken isnt fatty and is cooked well. Chow mein was good, too. Friendly workers, also :)

  • Mary M.

O M G! Go go go!!! My ex boyfriend took me to Mitzee's Cafe 2 years ago and I've been talking about this place ever since! I FINALLY went back last week and it was just as good as I remember! I love that they actually grill the fresh meats, veggies, and noodles in front of you. The price is very affordable as well! I will say it definitely is a hole in the wall type of joint BUT aren't those the best anyways!? The chicken, beef, and noodle large dish is to die for! Perfect place for your lunch break. Food is usually prepped and ready to go 15 minutes after you order. I highly recommend Mitzees!!

    (5)
  • Vivian V.

The food here is just amazing the noodles are great. The meat quality is great. The service is great too! The owner is always very polite and friendly his worker Candelario is always Very nice he's my favorite! This place is always busy, I order over the phone first. Overall my fav EVER

  • Laureen Rae Z.

We ordered #10 and #12. It tasted really great! It tasted so good as much as it looked good on the picture! I don't know why we only found out about this place only now! It's affordable too! Great job guys!

  • Sarina V.

Just picked up lunch here since I work close. Wanted to try something different and this place seemed pretty healthy since I was trying to be! I got the bulgogi and the noodles. It was OK, didn't really taste like bulgogi, and the sauce was too sweet. The noodles were good, maybe I should try something different next time. Also the guy was pretty nice but I saw him cleaning or he had water cups faced down on a dirty towel that just really threw me off.

    (3)
  • Tony S.

This place rocks. The chicken and beef teriyaki is great. The best teriyaki in Los Angeles. The #9 chicken and beef combo plate is great stuff.

    (5)
  • Nat K.

I wanted a quick KBBQ fix and this place did it for me without driving all the way to Ktown. Great prices, good amount food and best of all flavor. Awesome hole in the wall joint. They have bulgogi and kalbi hotplate that comes with kimchi, chow mien and rice! Pretty small place for 15 people but who cares. This will be my new go to spot for KBBQ in Glendale. Gotta support the mom and pop joints!

    (5)
  • Gilbert N.

Love the food here! If you base your opinion on how places look this may not be the place for you but if you simply just love food this is the place to be! The food is always great and well done! The cook is always nice and gets you what you want ! I come here once a month and it's awesome! Delivery its available and is fast. *************

    (5)
  • Kenneth M.

Told the cook no sesame seeds and what do i find when i get home??... Sesame seeds all over the food except the chicken... Really??...

    (1)
  • Areli T.

I freaken love this place !!! It's tasty and priced fair. I would prefer this other than other places I have tried. If you are around the area and craving some teriyaki this is place to stop by to. One recommendation I have for them, is to change the interior decor. It's a little played out. But hey that's up to them

    (5)
  • Navit S.

Best place ever! I've been coming here for more than 15 years.. The personally know the cook & the owner ... I grew up right up the street! So this place was the best to get a quick & yummy meal!

    (5)
  • R R.

Good food, come here a lot for lunch and everything is really tasty and consistent! Pretty small place and i love helping local business, especially when its good and tasty!

    (5)
  • Anthony R.

Amazing hot sauce. Food is good but I'm not blown away. However, something about it keeps making me want to come back.

    (3)
  • Ron V.

Quick Asian fast food great for lunch. Portions are generous and price is good. I always order here on my lunch break and my food is ready for me in 5 mins, 10 if the place is packed. I love how the spicy sauce mixes with the sweet teriyaki sauce, the cook is genius!

    (4)
  • Johnson K.

I absolutely love this place. So good, the wait isn't long and the price is good too. I luckily work around the corner so lunch here is a must about every other day aha. Staff is very friendly as well. In fact I think I'm going here tomorrow!!!

    (5)
  • Esperanza G.

The have delivery !! With 20$ and up orders. At times when I'm craving this at work , coworkers and I decide to order food & have it delivered to us. The chicken teriyaki is the best !! Delicious the owner is super friendly and so is the cook. Always welcome you with a smile & have nice conversations with you. 5 stars for sure

    (5)
  • Andrea A.

So I have to say they are hands down the best. The food is delicious and they make everything to order so it's even better, if I could give them 10 stars I totally would. We came across this through a close friend and I have to admit for being a small hole in the wall type of place they deserve a lot more credit. So if your around the area I highly recommend you stop and grab a plate.

    (5)
  • Bejon P.

Not a bad little spot to stop for lunch. This was nothing to write home about overall but they have pretty decent flavors in their food. I would have liked some more veg with my Bulgogi, but I was satisfied with the meal and it was delivered in a timely fashion. The staff was courteous and overall it was a decent experience. I had to raise an eyebrow at the large vessel of noodles sitting next to the rice cooker. I hope they are fresh but I couldn't quite tell. From a location perspective, this is a small mom & pop place. The kitchen is tiny and the place only seats just north of 15-20 people. The eating area seemed a bit old and a tad dirty. Given that you can see the kitchen, I observed that the cook surfaces looked like they hadn't been scrubbed in quite a while, but the utensils looked clean. I'm not so sure this place would get an A if revisited for cleanliness. What can I say, basically a solid 3 stars.

    (3)
  • Eunice Y.

Such a great restaurant and very friendly owner and staff. Theres just such a positive vibe about the owner. Food is really yummy, esp the #9 (chicken and beef teriyaki and chow mein). Portions come in large or small. I definitely would come back to try the other food on the menu. Service was also really great. I Definitely recommend this place.

    (5)
  • Gail E.

The meat tastes like Yoshinoya, dry, stringy, paper thin, extremely overcooked (oredered the small beef teriyaki) I asked for it not well done, but he seems like the pigheaded macho type who does whatever he wants regardless. I watched him wipe his nose with his bare hand. Perhaps the lunch time cook is better. This is.my first time here. Don't think I'll be back. One star is for the very polite girl at the counter who took my order.

    (1)
  • Rhonald N.

Dinner time. Great servings for a great price!!! I ordered the teriyaki rib plate and my friend ordered the beef and chicken teriyaki. They were both delicious and had perfect serving sizes. The sauce is delicious and the meats are perfectly marinated. It's teriyaki with Korean influence. Be sure to get an side order of kim chi. It refreshes the palate so every bite you make lets you taste the teriyaki as it's the first bite each time. The only thing that can be slight negative is the parking. The parking is shared by a host of stores in this small square.

    (4)
  • Armando V.

I have been going here for YEARS! The owner and the cook are nice and friendly, I have never had a bad experience. I am super picky and this is the only place I found that serves chow mein WITHOUT vegetables (upon request). Everything is made right when you order it besides the rice, but the rice is always consistent and perfect! I love this hole in the wall gem.

    (5)
  • Jay C.

This place is a hidden gem. This is the only place i know that makes the best beef teriyaki!

    (5)
  • Scott S.

Haven't been here in years. Still as good as I remembered. We had chicken teriyaki and bulgogi. Both were served piping hot (bulgogi on a sizzling platter) with chow mein and rice. Kinda sweet on the sauces but a dash of their hot sauce balanced it nicely. The Kimchi is more sweet than spicy ( different ) but fresh and tasty. The cook greeted us warmly and the owner was very friendly. Small parking lot but no problem at 1130am. We'll be back again soon!!

    (4)
  • Rani K.

Always eat here during work break. Great taste, always hot off the grill, and not overpriced!

    (5)
  • Liana A.

4 words only: best teriyake in los angeles!!!! I crave this place at least twice a week!!!!

    (5)
  • Chuck D.

Same as it ever was... I used to eat here regularly many years ago but it had been over a decade since I'd been to Mitzee Cafe last. My friends and I always called it Cafe Mitzee & there used to be another one on Colorado St near Chevy Chase back in the day... I almost always go with the combination dish of chicken & beef teriyaki with chow mein & rice. The large order is $7.50 and the small, if I remember accurately is a $1 less. The food is good, servings are plentiful, price is right & they are consistent like no other. As stated earlier, I had not dined there in a very long time but the food was just as I imagined it to be. Good to know some things, like good food, remain the same... I think that's for the better.

    (4)
  • Armin A.

Food was very low grade food a rip off for what u get and half of the food will end up in the trash

    (1)
  • Steve M.

Good food even better prices. The chicken is good, the shrimp are tiny though and the beef varies pending on how much you pay. I know Korean food (Korean wife) and this is the real deal. The best beef is the bulgogoi or the kalbi (bones) but kind of pricey for lunch. Also worth noting is the spicy pork. The chow mein is decent as an option to a bowl with rice. Watch out for the water cups though as mine seemed to have some bubbly residue floating on the top from not being rinsed thoroughly. I can hit this place at least once a week for cheap/good eats.

    (5)
  • Priscilla R.

Our new go to spot!! My hubby & our kids love this place!! The chicken is excellent! Their portions are very good for the price!! & the guys that work there are super nice. We've been there twice in the past 3 days. Lol

Good place to eat teriyaki been going here every time I'm craving for teriyaki and I Really LOVE their HOT Sauce awesome!!!!

  • Lenny V.

it is what it is, a small business that serves food. the food is different, it says korean/cafe in the description but its more of fusion food. everything is cooked on a flat top. call in for pickup and is always ready by the time i arrive. $6-8 for a dish w/ rice and noodles and always satisfies my hunger. their hot sauce is good. never had a problem with my order so 4 stars for customer satisfaction. its really small and not too cozy inside but maybe thats why they decided to call it a cafe not a restaurant. if your willing to eat beef bowl for $5-6 I suggest to give this a chance but don't try to compare it to fancy restaurants. the good ratings are partially for food and small business charm. I occasionally go here but they know which take out is my order when i come to pick it up.

    (4)
  • Stephani R.

Pretty good! A lot cheaper than other places, i always get the large Mongolian beef here it's only 8 bucks! The places it really outdated but I take it to go anyways so it doesn't really bother me, but I still think they should really remodel or something I mean their sound system is wholes on the wall with stereo speakers in them lmao! Still great spot to eat tho!

  • North Hollywood D.

The best Korean food ever. I have been coming to this place for 20 + years. No other place better for Asian cuisine. Great customer service as well.

Great little undiscovered gem here in Glendale. In my continuing quest for great lunch spots I stumbled on Mitzee Cafe. It only had 9 reviews at the time but had apparently been around for years. The reviews were all really good so I thought I'd give it a try... and boy was I pleasantly surprised! THE ORDER Large Beef Rib Teriyaki Plate - 4.5 out of 5 stars - Teriyaki glazed short ribs over white rice with a side of chow mein and vegetables. Got this was such a satisfying meal! Very comfort food like (for asian folk atleast). The short ribs where surprisingly tender and bursting with flavor. The teriyaki glaze was deep and rich without ever feeling sugary. The chow mein might have been an even bigger surprise. I wasn't expecting much from the side but it was very flavorful with a deep earthiness that I wasn't expecting. Next time I plan on ordering a chow mein plate just so I can have more of this. The veggies were fine, nothing amazing, but still tasty and a nice balance to the meal. yelp.com/biz_photos/Z4Tr… LOCATION Mitzee cafe is located in a little strip mall across the street from another strip mall. There is a good amount of parking in the lot. The restaurant itself is very small having only about 8-10 two seat tables or so. There is no questioning this is a hole in the wall. OVERALL I've very excited to have found this place. It is one of the better lunch spots in the area. In terms of Teriyaki places this is up there with Teriyaki Me... and maybe a little higher on the satisfaction scale. Price is spot on with large plates all at around $10 or under with smalls being a buck and change below. I'm super happy right now and I will be back for sure!
