I really really enjoy this restaurant. I usually get the weekly special or the mini meal with chicken. LOVE! Their tempura vegetables. I crave their macaroni salad on a daily basis and the teriyaki sauce they use is so freaking delicious. I also love that they have Pepsi and a really open and spacious space in which to sit. I took one star away because there have been a few times that the entire place has smelled of acetone...probably from the nail salon next store, they can't really do anything about it but it did make me lose my appetite a little bit...kind of a disappointment.

Definitely one of the best Hawaiian cafes in Fresno, perfect for takeouts. Offering a wide variety of Hawaiian mouthwatering comfort foods, from lau lau to musubi to combo BBQ rice plates. Inexpensive with meals ranging from $6-$10 per person. Also offering smoothie boba drinks with a wide range of flavors and snow ice dessert. The casual interior is comfortable and decently decorated, very spacious seating. The food itself tasted decent, not like out of this world good, but definitely above average and perfect for a fast takeout or laid back casual lunch without the table service. The ordering style is similar to a fast food restaurant, where you go to the ordering counter, order your meal, pay for it, given a number, and when your number is called, pick up the order. The presentation of the food is very casual meaning its in a takeout box regardless if the choice of dining is dine-in or takeout. Service itself not like super friendly, its fair service without any attitude. The establishment is clean but doesn't offer a restroom. The chicken combo plate ($7.99) was delicious and tasted decent, with generous portion enough for a big guy like me. Pretty solid for a casual Hawaiian place. The tatsu chicken is not the most generous with chicken meat, but decent in proportion of meat to breading, keeping in mind that most places cheat you with more breading. The taste of the tastsu was not authentic, meaning is kinda americanized, but definitely a sinful deep fried treat that's nice and hot. The BBQ chicken was perfectly grilled and not burnt, so it tasted flavorful and the texture was moist, not like the best but was definitely good. I did enjoy the perfectly steamed vegetable of carrots, cabbage and zucchini. The macaroni salad was very tasty and tangy, I liked it, one of the best macaroni salad I've had in this sort of establishment. The Musubi $3.59 was not the best, I preferred the L&L BBQ and this place priced it kinda expensive. I prefer ordering singles instead of getting 2. The taste itself was good but the spam sort of tasted too sweet. The rice texture was good, but I find that the seaweed wrapping was too much, to the extent that it was overpowering the dish. A perfect musubi should have a balance of all its 4 component- rice-seaweed-sauce-spam. The lavender milk was horrid $3.99, it seriously could kill someone with diabetes because it was extremely sweet even after I ordered it less sweet. The asian guy who made my drink didn't even make the right drink I ordered, because the taste doesn't reflect lavender milk tea at all and the color and look doesn't look like a lavender milk advertised on their menu.. Overall I would be back because this place does have good food, and even though most if the item on the menu would make you obese with its carb and fat overload, it does also offer a healthier high protein, low carb option for a really reasonable price and most importantly a clean and spacious establishment.

This place is clean. Much cleaner than the L&L way down the road. The decor looks generic in here but it's cute. The the employees were alright I guess just being there to do what they have to do. The environment was ok. The food was "Ono"(delicious). Price is kind of on the little pricey side of "Hawaiian barbecue". Portion sizes were good. I'd definitely be back to have more Hawaiian plate lunches.

Aloha! Where have you been all my LIFE? Walking in here for the first time you can literally feel like island type of theme which was good and seatings were very nice with big comfy chairs. The menu features items which were visible with pictures for those who like images, like me. All items needed for your meal is visible and laid out, and to me that is great. There is no waiters or bussers, so everything is all in your hands and reach which is part of the experience. They had three sauces which consisted of: Katsu, Teriyaki, and Tartar Sauce. Boy, let me you... you're in for a treat. I got the seafood mix since I wanted to experience the true Hawaiian business and, it was amazing. The food was cooked and fried fresh, so your wait time is different depending what meat you asking for. The macaroni salad was off the hook, took me a while to figure out the amazing taste and it was little flakes of tuna and I was amaze. Even the boba, which they offer many flavors was delicious, I highly recommend you try some boba tea if you haven't you missing out. The staff was friendly too, this place deserves an award for food and service. I want to go back so bad, and hopefully I go soon when I have business in Fresno again. Chicken is so great also, it will make you the hula dance over and over again. I rate this place 5 stars.

This place has gone down hill. Today I got the katsu chicken and ordered the mini meal. Also got the BBQ chicken plate. Katsu chicken came with NO VEGGIES & all Mac. Also very little Katsu chicken compared to Maui HBBQ. I was very disappointed. And the Mac salad here taste off. Because right after we went to Maui and I can taste the difference!! I'm not crazy. It's a lot plainer here. Maybe they're using different mayos or something. My boyfriend said his chicken tastes a bit slimey but the rice was cooked perfectly. This will be our last visit here. If I want HBBQ, I'll go to Maui. Also the staff here are actually a bit rude. One time, I asked for extra napkins and she practically threw it at me.

In regards to that nail smell, it's now non-existent. It could be just a day time thing when the nail shop is open but as for now (9:22pm) it not appearant. It was so busy in here just now and so the place was a little messy but the line has died down and they are cleaning. This place is never dirty so I trust this is a regular thing. There is a super positive cashier in the front. She is so nice, fast and accurate. This place is good anytime of day!! When we get dinner here we treat it like a ritual. All of our sauces are lined up, our tv dinner table is up and a great flick is on. It's definitely something I look forward to. Not just for the food but the family time as well. I'm glad these people are consistent in being a part of making that such a treat for us.

I have eaten here several times and now and food is really good. I was very disappointed this last time though. We ate here for lunch (High Noon) and the restaurant had a strong stench of acrylic from the nail salon next door. Literally it was so pungent that myself and coworkers started sneezing. It was not at all pleasing especially while being hungry. They only had one cashier working for at noon which made our wait time about 15 minutes. This place gets really busy for lunch so be prepare to wait a little bit for your food. The food quality and flavor of the food is really good. I normally get half breaded chicken and half grilled chicken. The breaded chicken is truly one of its kind, delicious. Man, the macaroni salad is very good too. I ask for extra instead of getting the white rice. I love dipping the chicken in the Katsu sauce. Check the window before entering they have good daily specials. Overall I love the food here and will continue coming back. I really hope they figure something out with their ventilation system.

I am impressed!!! I had been seeing this place come up on my Groupon App several times, but never paid any attention to it. I took a couple of passing glimpses on their Yelp page and kept it in the back of my mind. Groupon then sent me a promo code saying that I could get an additional 20% off, so I decided why not. Oahu was offering a $12 deal in return for $20, so with my extra % off I only spent $9 and change...to good to pass up. I figured that even if I didn't like it, I wasn't going to be out all that $$$. I was really anxious to try this place, so I made a trip to Fresno just for that very reason. The place is really easy to find, right off Blackstone across from River Park. There is quite a bit of parking since it is located in a large shopping/dining area. When I arrived, I already had in mind what I wanted to try...the Hibachi Beef and Chicken Combo. The girl that was working greeted me immediately and was prompt to take my order. I told her that I had never been there and she was very patient with me and even suggested some appetizer options to go with my meal. I ordered 2 Hibachi Beef/Chicken combos and a small drink. The total came out to $20.91. I presented her with my Groupon and my total due was $.91. I reached into my pocket, only to realize that I had left my cash at home. I pulled out my card and started to pay, when the cashier said that there was a minimum of $5 to use a card, just my luck!!! I searched in my purse, no change!!! I had to excuse myself and go to my car and see if I had change in the holder. I did not want to hold up any people, so I just told her that I would be back shortly. I came back in, paid for the rest of my bill and she informed me that she went ahead and put my order in already. She was really great about the whole situation. My order did not take very long and it looked and smelled delicious. They have a condiment bar where you can get your Katsu, Teriyaki and Soy sauces as well as cutlery. The meal is served in a styrofoam container and is accompanied with steamed white rice and macaroni salad. At first glance it doesn't look like a lot of food, but let me tell you...there is a TON. If you are looking for a bountiful meal, whether it be lunch or dinner, you will be glad you came here. The hibachi beef was cooked to perfection, it had some warm pink to it and was seasoned just right. The meat was very tender and juicy, not at all what I was expecting from a place like this. The chicken was really good as well, and very tender. The macaroni salad was good, although not my favorite...not due to the flavor, but just cause I am not into macaroni salad that much. Underneath your meat is several mixed veggies; cabbage, celery, broccoli & zucchini. I got their Teriyaki sauce and used it to dip my beef chunks into and OMG it was AMAZING!!! The sauce had the perfect blend of flavors. It is a little on the sweet side, and may even be too sweet for some, but it was just right for me. You can get as much as you'd like and it comes out of the pump hot. I was so happy with my meal, that I came back 2 days later (sans Groupon) and ordered 4 of the Hibachi Steak combos, one to eat there and the rest for dinner. The same girl was there and took my order and provided me with excellent service. She was the only one working up front with customers and was busting her tail. I would highly recommend coming here and cannot wait to go back myself. Prices are reasonable, my Hibachi Beef/cken combo was only $8.69 and is seriously enough to feed 2. The place itself and the bathrooms were stocked and cleaned. All employees I encountered were very friendly and efficient. *I am shocked to see another review for this place was negative because they (customer) were asked to pay their remaining balance of $.11 (after Groupon was applied) for their food. Well of course you have to pay for your food, even if it is just $.11!!! I mean, imagined if they just let everyone do that...it would add up and it's gotta come out of someone's pocket.

Delicious Kalua Pork and the daily special BBQ Chicken! Special comes with pot stickers, tempura, rice and Chicken. Daughter had the small plate of crispy shrimp. We had Crab Rangoon too. Loved it all! The cook came out and chatted with us. We let him know we were testing the food for a party this weekend. He assured us that he would be there on Sat AM early to prepare our pork so it will be fresh for our party. Our friends are going to love us for sharing this great food!

Well I will start with negative stuff. When you are in north fresno you expect a very clean place. This place was not. I could see it messy if they were slammed but there were maybe 5 other people in this place. The counters had trash on them they were out of half of their sodas and the trash can was so full nothing would fit in. Even at our table it was sticky like it had never been cleaned. Now with the better. I got the chicken and steak combo. It was pretty tasty. Pretty much tasted like tepenyaki. It could of used more veggies. The rice was good, but you really cant screw up rice. The macaroni did have a little too much mayo. But decent flavor. All in all it was ok. I am not going out of my way craving anything there. I like L&L better still. But if someone was buying it I will still eat it.

So I use to come here a lot. Today will be last day. I ordered my food and I kid you not 3minutes later, my order came out. Are you kidding me?!! What??! Did you guys reheat my food or something? So I figured it was and I tasted the food. Low and behold, the taste of reheat food. Never coming here again.

I no longer mention other businesses on my reviews to be tactful. I did see Daniel B on an earlier review mention the other Hawaiian BBQ places here in Fresno and honestly if that is "Authentic Hawaiian BBQ" then I much rather eat here. The quality here is 100% better than I have experienced at the other places. If you want cheap and pretty tasty then those places are for you, but if you want downright super delectable then try this place out. I had the beef and shrimp plate which comes with steamed rice and mac salad (which I love the simplicity of). I have to say it is a bit pricey but you are getting very good quality for your money and that makes it well worth it. There are coupons available for a limited time on deal saver so get yours and try it today! When the coupons aren't available anymore I would have to say that you must give this place a go at least once (prob be making it a regular thing after that). Quality takes time so be patient and nice!

Found this place using dealsaver.com coupons. I've been here a few times and tried the same things with my wife. We both liked the hibachi chicken and steak combo which comes with steamed veggies, rice and mac salad. If you order a smoothie and only one person is working the counter be prepared to wait a while to get your drink. The bathroom had overflowing trash can and tables were sticky. I'd reccomended having two people at the front counter at all times of day during the weekends. When it's slow one person can help with cleaning. Don't worry though keep proving deals and I'll keep coming back.

Not sure what to think. I'm sitting here waiting for my kalua pork and the guy come up to me about 5mins after ordering and tell me they're out of kalua pork but recommends the hibachi beef and chicken. We'll see what this is like when I get home as I got my order to go. Never been here before and really wanted to try their kalua pork. Wish me luck. Will update review later and adjust start rating depending on food. So far a little peeved for not having what I was craving and not letting me know upon ordering. I'm the only one waiting on an order, what could have taken them this long to tell me they were out. We shall see....

During our road trip, we got hungry. Hubs found a Groupon for this place so we decided to stop by for a quick lunch. For a late Monday lunch this place wasn't very busy, but it did take a while for them to prepare our food. We both got combo plates. The meats were tasty and a good portion of everything. We were stuffed and satisfied. Prices are decent too so you don't necessarily need a deal.

Delicious. I love this place and might be addicted. Everything is made to order, so you might have to wait a little while. It gets pretty messy in there and I am always seeing help wanted signs.

Good Hawaiian food. Nothing is quite as good as it is in Hawaii it's self but this is the best option if ur suck on the mainland. Warning if ur not use to Oahu style macaroni salad there is tuna mixed it, that's the authentic way.

first time eating here, stumbled across it from the DEALS section of my Yelp app, paid for the $30 for $25 deal, i took my family here for dinner I ordered the family meal: 3 meats BBQ Beef, BBQ Chicken & Teriyaki Chicken with Macaroni, Rice and Vegetables, the food was great! me & my family loved it except my son who must have something wrong with his taste buds lol the family meal came with very large portions, after we ate we had plenty of food to take home

    (4)
  • David F.

Great food. Real tasty and large portions. I had the hibachi chicken. My only complaint and reason for a 3 star review is because the place was a MESS. Omg the tables were dirty. All of them and the trash cans were overflowing to where we just left our plates on the table cause it was a challenge to get them in the compacted trashcans. So hopefully they hire more employees to take care of the cleanliness of the restaurant and I will go back.

HUGE portions, just how I likey. Glad it was on Groupon or else I probably wouldn't have come across this spot. Chicken and sides (mac salad and rice) were fabulous. Steak was a little tough but could've been just that day.

I purchased a Fresno Deal Saver $10 for $20 last week. I used it yesterday on a to go order for the family meal. When I picked it up it was ready. Meal suggested it serve 4 people but it could easily served 6 people. I got bbq beef, teriyaki chicken, crispy shrimp, macaroni salad, and white rice.

Poor attempt at Hawaiian BBQ. if you've never had Hawaiian BBQ then this place might seem pretty good but trust me it's not. Go to L&L Hawaiian BBQ or even Maui Hawaiian BBQ much better.

QUICK SUMMARY: DON'T COME HERE, EVEN WITH GROUPON. 1. the customer service sucks, I had a Groupon and the Asian lady didn't know how to ring it up. She delayed the orders but eventually figured it out only after she kept walking to the back to find help. After using my Groupon I owed .11 cents and they wouldn't even let it go and told me I had to pay in order to receive my food. They moved on and helped the next person while I when to get the damn .11 cents and had me wait for my food AGAIN. 2. I was hoping the food would make up for such horrible service but it was just as bad.

Very good. Restaurant was very clean - much better than Maui Hawaiian. Macaroni salad isn't as good as theirs, but the curry sauce is better - and chicken wasn't dried out like theirs normally is. I'm glad they're here so I dot have to drive across town to go over there. Lots of chicken on my combo plate - little veg which is opposite as what you'll get over there.

I had wanted to eat at this restaurant ever since seeing their slick ads in my mailbox. Well I ate there today and was VERY DISAPPOINTED. This food is bland and waste of money. I had the Kalbie and BBQ Chicken. I had a Groupon and am glad I did, as this was sucky food. The food has no taste. L&L on west shaw is much better 4 stars verses 1.5.

I have only had Hawaiian BBQ once before at one of the other chains before, however that experience was not the greatest and soured me on trying it again for a while. Then the other day while at the Verizon store I figured perhaps it was time to give it a try again, and since this place was right next door I ended up giving it a shot. This was a much better experience than the last time I had tried Hawaiian BBQ. (And I just want to point out for anyone confused, the bad experience had NOTHING to do with this restaurant, it was another chain altogether.) I got a plate with chicken and pork (I think, I just got around to writing this a month after the fact, apologies!) Everything was cooked well, all of the meat was nice and juicy, there was no dried out meat to be found here. Every meal comes with rice, veggies, and macaroni salad. The next time I am in the area I would definitely come back!

  • Elizabeth N.

I had a groupon to this place and I decided to use it. Although, it was basically half off, it was not worth it. I got the chicken katsu and the curry katsu chicken. It was just okay, nothing was really that great. The service was a little weird, the girl working there seemed a bit awkward and tired. It just made me want to leave. I won't be coming back.

I've been here several times and have ordered everytime Hibachi beef & shrimp and it is delicious EVERY SINGLE TIME. The shrimp and steak are plentiful also includes white rice and a yummy macaroni salad. Highly recommend!

  • Karen J.

I love Hawaiian BBQ, but someone tell me why I ordered their daily special and got charged full price. I asked the cashier why I got charged full price for the special and she seemed more confused than I was. She asked me if I only wanted one piece of the katsu then that would be the special price, but the poster specifically says it's a meal. Never coming back.

They should really train their employees what a ringing phone means and what to do about it. Seriously how is no one that works there smart enough to figure out how to answer a phone?

I've never had this style of food before. I like it! I didn't know what to order and the counter girl wasn't any help even after we told her it was our first time (her unhelpfulness and the place reaking of bleach gave them the 3 stars). I ended getting beef and shrimp with fried rice...it was delicious.

This place is really good..Always fresh...I like places where you can watch them prepare your food.. I ordered the beef & chicken habatchi with sticky rice macaroni salad.. very decent portion.. The sautéed veggies were crisp & fresh. .. $10 for meal and drink..

Love this place, great food at a good price made to order..no heating lamps here . clean and fast so good you gotta try this place in the same center as hooters.

  • Joel K.

I've eaten here twice. The prices are reasonable and there is a large selection of menu items to choose from. The environment is great for a family where active children are allowed to be themselves. I really enjoyed their chicken and beef combo the first time I ate. The second time, I tried the mixed BBQ combo and found that it was much too grisly and fatty for my enjoyment. I was disappointed, but I will still be coming back again since there are many other items I know I enjoy on the list.

  • J R.

Bottom line: The grilled meat is not good enough to stand alone and the sauces are not good enough to make up for that. The teriyaki sauce was thin and watered down. The tonkatsu sauce was not tonkatsu sauce...not even close. :( There is duck sauce available, but nothing on the menu that requires duck sauce. I love spam musubi, but not here :(( SPAM IS AWESOME. There was one slim slice of sad spam in a whole lot of rice and some seaweed. The veggies that came with the teriyaki chicken were over cooked and mush. The only thing that was suprisingly ok was the macaroni salad, after a woman warned us that the macaroni salad was awful. Prices are decent for a good amount of food. Just wasn't quality. Went with family. We are glad we tried it, but will not be going back.

Stayed in Fresno a few nights and found this place after seeing good reviews. Did not disappoint! I ordered the Chicken and Beef combo and my wife ordered the special that day. Prices seemed very reasonable especially after seeing the portions they gave us. Both the chicken and beef were cooked to perfection and the flavor was excellent! Glad we decided to go here.

I love this place!! Awesome customer service, & the food is delicious. They always have groupons & after the $20 I only pay for the difference $0.50 & that is an awesome deal! The owner is super nice & so is the girl up front at the register; she deserves a good tip. They're very reasonable & helpful plus the store is always clean, neat & organized. A lot cleaner than other Hawaiian bbq places I been to. Also we can call ahead for a pick up order before we actually get there & not have to sit & wait for our food since it is cook to order. The maximum wait time is usually only 10 minutes. They also provide catering & they send coupons to business company's. I'm going continue going to this place for lunch or dinner time. You won't be disappointed!

  • Sarah P.

$6 daily meal was good. Had the teriyaki chicken came with 3 big temp veggie and 1 temp shrimp,2 or 3 pot stickers (can't remember lol) and a scoop of rice. Tempura was a little thick and doughy but still pretty good. I don't eat a lot of meat but the chicken was worth the price I'd say. Took care of my hunger and I don't feel gross after eating. Cleanliness was pretty good same with customer service.

Great food. A high demand in this area. Just need to get the word out. They deserve the business! Suggestions: BBQ Beef BBQ chicken BBQ short ribs Katsu Hibachi chicken Hibachi beef BBQ shrimp I've been told the potstickers aren't that great, however, but that will not modify my rating as this was a friend's opinion. I'm looking forward to trying their other dishes, especially their seafood mix plate. Don't forget that they have mini meals that will still exceed your standard individual meal's caloric intake, so those with smaller appetites, save yourself some money. Others who like good food and plenty of it, the standard plate will work for you.

Yeah after one trip to this place I was hooked. Probably the best hawaiian/chinese type place I've been too. Food was amazing, I got the hibachi chicken and shrimp, another time I got the hibachi steak and shrimp. You really can't go wrong with the meal, comes with rice and macaroni salad and....THE SAUCE. Yeah I love the sauce. I put it over everything. lol I recommend you try this place if you're ever in Riverpark.

  • Whitney Y.

Finally! A Hawaiian BBQ place in Riverpark! My sister and I tried it for the first time last night and the food was excellent!! We ordered the Katsu Chicken Meal that came with white rice and macaroni salad. We also ordered a side order of spam musubi. The portions are HUGE!! I had leftovers for lunch the next day. There is two layers of chicken with tons of rice and the macaroni salad completely filling the "sides" section of the container. The katsu chicken was light and crispy on the outside with flavorful chicken on the inside. The spam musubi order comes with 2 musubis. The sauce was a little too sweet for my taste, so the next time I go I'll order it without the sauce. The restaurant was very clean with nice chairs and tables. The service was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back! They haven't done much advertising yet but I want to spread the word to go and try the Oahu Hawaiian BBQ restaurant!!!!

Really liked the seafood noodle soup. Lots of good fish, shrimp, noodles, etc. Also enjoyed the Spam Matsubi. Big and tasty. My only recommendation is that they do a deep fried spam matsubi!

    1. I was born and raised on Oahu (moved from Oahu when I was 26) 2. The menu items/selection are authentic 3. The taste and flavors of the menu items are Not authentic Disappointed in the flavors of the korean kal bi or BBQ short ribs and the BBQ pork. The BBQ chicken was good. The mac salad was good as well. The rice wasn't the sticky rice you find in Hawaii. It was more of a Chinese rice trying to be sticky rice. (They aren't the same!) I'm being critical because I was raised on this food and nothing ever compares. I have had better in other city's such as San Jose and Los Angeles but for a place out in Fresno, it'll have to work.

Been here a couple times since it opened about a month ago and this is a welcome alternative compared to all the fast food joints and chain restaurants in the vicinity. For those that haven't visited a Hawaiian Bbq restaurant before: You can choose from a variety of meats (beef, chicken, short ribs, pork, or combo thereof) and it's served with a couple scoops of steamed rice and a scoop of macaroni salad in a take home box. So far I've tried the chicken katsu, bbq beef, and bbq chicken plates. The plates are generously portioned and I like that they serve the meat over a bed of miscellaneous vegetables and not just cabbage. My one criticism is it seemed like the chicken/beef hadn't been marinated enough because the food was missing a little flavor compared to what I've tasted at other Hawaiian bbq spots. This place is new, so of course it's still clean. Service is genial and the dining area is spacious. The first time I went, the music they were playing was K-pop I think? Created an interesting ambiance to my dining experience. Overall, I like the food. I like the location. I'll be back again!

We went in yesterday about 4pm to get some take out. There was not one person in the restaurant when we went in. We were going to sit down at a table to wait and EVERY SINGLE TABLE was dirty! It wasn't like they were so busy that they couldn't keep the tables clean! It bothered me that if it is that dirty out front, how clean is it in the back? I don't think I'll be back since there are so many other food choices in town. It's a shame because the food was good that we got.

I really like this place! I'm only giving it 3 stars because you can't order one spam musubi & one sausage musubi together. They come in two orders each & are the same price. I don't see why they can't do that. The cashier said she couldn't even do that too & she works there. I found that to be really weird.. But portions are good! My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken katsu meal. He was very happy with the fact that there was enough rice for the katsu. The mac salad is really good, too. I also like the sauce for the chicken katsu. Not too sweet & just the right consistency. 4 stars for food! 3 stars for weird rules! We'll be back.

So today is mine and my familys first time eating here. We enjoy L&Ls and Maui's so we wanted to give this place a try. I had the hibachi shrimp and chicken with chow mein, it was pretty good. I like the fact that this restaruant offers chow mein. I dont eat rice so they gave me choices to substitute it (i really liked that). N e way, the macaroni salad is good it taste like L&Ls and Maui's so im happy about that. The look of the resteraunt looks great, i love the big painting on the wall. And the environment is wonderful. Everyone is very friendly. We got to meet the owners and they are very nice. the lady who took our order was awesome. i sure will eat here again and would love to try something different. I so far have nothing bad to say about this place

In my opinion, this is the best Hawaiian BBQ restaurant in Fresno. The flavor of the macaroni salad here far exceeds the flavor at other Hawaiian BBQ restaurants. The entrees are very flavorful with generous portions.

Absolutely love this place! The Hawaiian BBQ they serve at this restaurant is to die for! If you have a large appetite the Hawaiian lunch plates are for you, with its generous portions. I myself used to get these but have found that the mini meals are more then enough. The Kalbi Beef here is sooo juicy and tender. The teriyaki aside is also superb. Let me not forget about the macaroni salad which is the best I've had. I def recommend this place to anyone who enjoys BBQ'd meats.

This place has very good food and the establishment is very clean and refurbished. They serve big portion sizes as well. Well done!

Delicious and affordable.. I love their hibachi chicken and shrimp. They usually have a groupon deal so look for that if you go.

I decided to take my 2 younger brothers out to grab some dinner and I've always wanted to check this place out, so I brought them here. The girl at the register, I think her name was Megan(correct me if I'm wrong.) She was so helpful and was extremely friendly and told me a little bit about the menu and popular choices. We decided to go with the popular hibachi chicken which also came with rice and macaroni and it sure didn't disappoint us. The atmosphere was really laid back, bright and cute. Service was awesome! Food didn't take long to come out. Will be seeing us again, for sure!

Nice place. I like the contemporary style of the atmosphere. You can choose these separate, but I chose the combination plates. #3 is Chicken Combo that has some #1 and #2. Hawaiian BBQ chicken and Katsu chicken. $7.99 #6 Hibachi Chicken and Beef (Combo). $8.79 #9 is the Teriyaki Chicken $4.99 The two above (as well as the others on the menu, except for the Teriyaki Chicken) come with a side of macaroni salad and a side of rice. I really like the #3. The Katsu chicken tastes much better than somewhere else I had it at and the chicken is thick and then there's the breading. The Hawaiian BBQ chicken is a whole piece of chicken (not cut up) pan fried with cooking sauce. The Hibachi has pieces of chicken and beef cooked with seasonings. I thought was good. The teriyaki chicken comes with pieces of chicken with teriyaki glaze on the chicken on top of rice. This entree doesn't come with the macaroni salad. All of the entrees have a little bit of veggies under the meat. I saw some cabbage, zucchini, celery, carrot, broccoli. But not so much that it distracts from the meat.

On lunch, decided to give this place a try. Disappointed with the another Hawaiian food place here so wanted to see if I could get the stuff like back home. I got the BBQ combo, Hawaiian chicken, Kalbi short ribs, and some other kind if sliced thin mystery meat. Rice and Mac salad. The Mac salad was pretty good. Sticky rice nice and sticky. Chicken was ok, a bit salty. Short ribs had way too much fat and they were tough. Mystery meat is still a mystery. Very tough. All in all I was thinking, eh, it's ok. Service was fast. We are now two hours later. And my tummy is really, really unhappy. Like wow. Oh dear god why. I won't be returning.

It was my first time here and I had a coupon so my bf and I decided to try it out. I had the chicken katsu curry. The curry was water down so it didn't have much of a taste even after adding srircha. I only ate two pieces of the chicken and could eat no more because it was way too oily. The macaroni salad was better than maui hawaiian bbq. Also they aren't stingy with their rice. Also the cashier seem to hate her job. She wasn't smiling or anything and glared at my bf and oi because we were standing and waiting for our food. First and last time.

I have eaten here a total of 3 times. Each time the food has been top notch and the restaurant has been spotlessly clean. This is a great lunch or dinner place. The food is authentic according to my Hawaiian friend. The portion sizes are large with the average plate being $7.

My first time eating here with my boyfriend and as he said from past experience: it IS good! The shrimp is so delicious and juicy and their meat is very well cooked too. The macaroni Salad is a delight as a side and I like the vegetable that is thrown in with each plate. The pricing is not that expensive too for the large portions that they have - that's an awesome plus! I can't wait to go again!

We tried it for the first time today. My son said he preferred it over the expensive Teppanyaki we get at Japanese restaurants. I ordered the hibachi steak and chicken. Both were cooked to perfection. I substituted the white rice for fried rice and it was delicious! Their sauces were so good I wanted to bring extra home. The cashier was super friendly. My family and I will be back!

Store front parking is a problem. The lot is VERY small and the spaces are very narrow. Best to park by Hooters or in the SAMs Club parking lot. Cars are frequently circling so be careful when crossing the parking lot. The menu is Hawaiian but not the flavors. I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ beef and got a fair size portion. The veggies consisted mostly of stir fried celery, a little cabbage, 3 pieces of sliced carrots and 1 piece of zucchini. Macaroni salad was not authentic and had fish in it so if you have allergies, be careful! They mural on the wall was not Oahu, would have been nice to see Dosmond Head, Koko Head or even North Shore. Music was contemporary Christian? NOT Hawaiian. Would have enjoyed some Izzy, Cazamero Brothers, Makaha Sons or any other well known Hawaiian performers. I was disappointed but the only other Hawaiian restaurant is on the other side of town. This will do if I do not want to drive across town. Posting pictures.

I'm gonna keep it simple and real. Great place everyone of my friends that I brought to this place was taken back at the quality of food. Avg price is about 10 bucks per plate but they give out decent portions. I always get hibachi steak combo. So far they've been pretty consistent with the quality of meat. It's lean, tender, and it's never been dry. Worth giving it a shot. I wouldn't recommend the blended smoothies however.

Love this place! We always get the hibachi chicken, steak & shrimp. Their special/secret sauce is to die for. Wish they sold it by the bottle, I'd buy it and take it home! Would have given them 5 stars if it weren't for the following: 1. Their fruit smoothies. Made with powder mix instead of syrup, so they taste a bit chalky and bland (too much ice, not enough fruit/flavor). Disappointing, and not worth the high price. 2. Way too much celery in the vegetables for my taste. 3. Annoying country western music playing in the restaurant. In a Hawaiian BBQ place? Seriously? Blech... me no likee! :p

We love this place! It's tasty, not too expensive, and has huge portions!! I've had a few of the chicken/beef plates, and they've all been great! I've also had the lavender milk tea, which was so good! The girls who have helped us at the register were all great and very helpful! One of them even explained boba to me, when I asked how they make it, and even showed me what boba looks like before it is made, they go above and beyond with their customer service! Also, the entire place is always sparkling clean.

Went there today and ordered a meal with a drink. As I was grabbing my drink while my husband was paying, the Mountain Dew was out, so I tried the Pepsi, and that was out too. I let the cashier know that those two were out and she just said,"actually... you know what, it's our machine that's not working." And then she turned back to speak to her co worker, so I just thought to myself... Okay, if the soda machine is messed up, then why did she not tell me? What am I going to drink? Carbonated water? Ice? So I just asked for a refund and she went ahead and took care of that for me. The teriyaki sauce was also out, and no one took care of it. As my husband and I waited for our food, another customer walks in and orders a drink, and the cashier charged her as well. Horrible. Anyways, we finally got our food and they were not too generous with the amount. Lesson learned. We will not be returning to that location. However, Hawaiian BBQ across from Honda North is a great place to visit:)

Get the hawaiin bbq combo, comes with kalbi (short ribs) hawaiin bbq (beef) and chicken, plus rice, a few veggies, and macaroni salad. Its about $9 and easily enough for 2 meals.

The portions were really good, we ordered the mixed barbecue meal and it tasted good too. I love grilled food and this satisfied my craving. Laid back atmosphere. For sure we will be coming back. It does taste like L&L. The taro smoothie was too sweet for me and left a bad after taste.

First time today.. I ordered the mini meal and that alone was a lot of food! I have left overs. I got the BBQ chicken and my husband ordered the BBQ beef. Both are very tasty! The restaurant is very clean, neat and very nice. The crab Rangoon is also very delicious! I will most definitely be back for more. Yummy!!
