Great spot, great food, very nice people! Stopped at Peking for a take-out order. Definitely made the right decision! The fried spareribs and everything else was great, and the portions were very generous.

The food was ok. I ordered Orange Chicken, Chow Mein and fried wontons and my total came out to about $29. The wait was about 35 minutes due to it being a Friday night, which they said is one of their busiest times. The restaurant looks like it needs some updating, which explains why there weren't very many people eating in. On the other hand, the staff was friendly and engaged in conversation with me while I waited for my order. The Orange Chicken wasn't the fried kind, which is what I prefer. So I probably won't go back for that reason alone. But nevertheless it had a good flavor and tangy sauce.

We were craving Chinese and we were not about to drive to Vallejo in the rain so we decided to give Peking another try. We placed the order and it was ready within 25 minutes. This time we got: Mu Shu Pork, Honey Walnut Prawns, Beef with Broccoli, and House Chow Mein. The Mu Shu was delicious, the prawns were pretty good, the beef with broccoli was bland, and the chow mein was just okay. Overall we both agree this place is good for a quick Chinese food fix but our heart still belongs to China Wok in Vallejo.

We were on our way back to sf and needed lunch so we stopped here instead of highway fast food. We were glad we did. They have solid fare and I was glad to see egg foo yung on the menu as it isn't so common these days. We enjoyed everything and I give an extra star for having good Chinese food outside of sf.

just ok...sadly. The staff was super nice and helpful when taking my phone order! The chow mien was bland The Fried Rice was yellow...wtf?! The sweet and Sour pork was just ok. The egg rolls were good as well as the pot stickers. Overall, ok, but we won't be returning,

During a recent business trip, I stayed at the Courtyard nearby and was looking for some solo food options that would be quick and easy to take back to the hotel. I drove by Peking and decided to give it a try. It certainly has that divey Chinese food place look from the outside (and not a whole lot different inside). Once inside, I could tell this place was fairly popular - tables were full and those coming in for takeout seemed to be regulars. Overall, the food was great and I certainly would give this another try if I am back soon!

When your husband gets up and serves himself for a third time you know a place is good. We had the snowpeas chicken with mushroom, house chowmein and rice and green onion beef.... The food was ready when they said it was going to be ready. When we got there the person at the counter was very friend, and when I asked for hot sauce we was more than happy to give me more. Usually at places the are super stingy with extras here no problems. When we got home the food was perfect. They tasted fresh and good. Goes to show how for the most part yelp is pretty accurate in its ratings

Been looking for a good place to get Chinese food in fairfield and this is the perfect place to go! They have lunch specials and you get a lot of food for the price. I called in my order and they had it ready in time as well. They also have great customer service! I'll be back, every week lol

Came here last night because I was hungry for some Chinese food and most places on Sunday are closed early. Peking was open until 9PM. I'm not sure how I never noticed Peking before. I've passed by it several times but because it's hidden away in the corner of the Raleys plaza, my eyes skipped over it everytime. I was greeted by the sweetest lady ever, Jenny. She's such a doll and was able to answer all of my questions about the menu that I had. Ready for my breakdown of the food? Wonton soup: They do not skimp on the wonton and meat here. Usually the soup is all broth but here the soup was hearty annnnnd tasty. Egg drop soup: This was the one dish I was somewhat disappointed in even though other people raved about it. The corn in the soup overwhelmed the flavor of the broth. I thought it was just OK. Green bean beef: LOTS of green beans.. Not drenched in sauce. Just enough to have the nice flavor and not overwhelm it. Orange shrimp: This was one of my favorites. The flavor of the sauce was so good! And the shrimp wasn't ridiculously covered in batter.. Just enough. Sweet and sour pork: Your typical sauce. Nothing special but it was still tasty. The pork was a little chewy though. Honey walnut prawns: They gave us so much!! And again, the shrimp wasn't covered in a crazy amount of batter so it was really good. Oh and they give a good amount of walnuts too. House special fried rice: This place has the best fried rice.. I highly recommend the house special. It has every meat in it. All in all. Im sold on this place. I loved the service and the food. And the prices weren't too bad at all either.

I love this that this business is family run. I feel like I'm eating home cooked meals and I know they get their wraps shipped daily from Oakland which is impressive and demonstrates that they care about the food they are serving. Food quality is fresh and consistent. I always know what I'm getting when I order something.

I went there on Friday, February 27, 2015 for lunch. I had the Mongolian beef with chow main and an egg role. it also came with soup. The food came out fast and hot. the staff was nice too. great price and close to my Sister's house in Fairfield.

Lets start of with the service, we had to call the server every time we needed something. He was too busy with other chores. We had to tell him to come take our order and to bring us water etc. We were the only ones in the restaurant so i don't understand why we weren't getting much attention. On to food, i see a lot of reviews highlighting the freshness of the food, i could confirm the veges are slightly on the fresh side but can get improved but i question the freshness of the meat. It was inedible. Stale meat is something that can make a person very sick. I don't recommend nor do i wish to return to this place. Only upside was the staff seemed polite.

Hands down the best food I've had in ages! Suggest getting the pork chop suey with extra bean sprouts and a side of pan fried noodles. Yum!!!

  • Marielle M.

I highly recommend this place. My friend and I came during the lunch special and it was excellent! I had the Peking hot wings w/ fried rice and she got the sweet and sour pork w/fried rice. The best Chinese food I've had! The service was great also. Our server was friendly and attentive. I can tell that they have a lot of regulars that come in because some of the customers even know the owners by name. Which proves that they truly care about customer service. So if you're ever in this plaza give this place a try!

A staple of my childhood and my adult life, a lot has changed in Fairfield over the last 30 yrs, but this place has remains consistently delicious. I can't say enough great things about this place, the food the staff are superb!! Highly recommend eating here. It's the best!!

The Peking Restaurant is The "Cheers" of Chinese Food! Amazing customer service, they literally remember your name, great flavors and textures, will alter dishes per request, truly out to please the customer. I've been coming to this restaurant as long as I can remember. By far the best Chinese food in town. I've had them cater a couple of parties (like 10 years ago, but the food still rocks). My favorite dish is Szechuan Chicken, extra spicy. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. The food is always great and their customer service sets them apart from the pack. 30 years in business for many reasons.

Food quality is 100% fresh. Lunch specials are perfect. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. Best Chinese food in Fairfield... My wife is a loyal customer for 25 years! Thank You Jenny...

Ordered Mongolian beef and steamed rice. It was average taste but the price was too high.

  • Sir A.

3stars beacuse. Out of four items ordered two were etible. Beef chow fun okay beef was none existent. Glazed walnut prawns- were so battered up it was like eating deep fried bread. Crispy chicken- stay away from completely, they deep fried it twice; It tasted like oil chicken jerky. Last was a special order of prawns with eggplant, it would have been good if it wasn't floating in oil. Plus large rice order which totalled over $60s. You can try it but get ready for an oil bath.

Best Chinese restaurant in Fairfield!! I am so glad my fiancé turned me onto this place! He has been coming here for over a decade - I have been for 3 years. They know us by name. Fresh ingredients, low grease, low or no MSG, clean if a tad dated interior. Can make many of the options vegetarian - all you have to do is ask. They will also make any or all of your dishes any "heat" (spicy) level you ask for. Great chow fun, eggplant dishes are not goopy (yay!), tofu (errr, bean curd) is better than most. Unlike most places (and my grandmother) they don't over cook the veggies!!!! Owners are such nice people! Wish asparagus was in season more as they only offer it seasonally. For take out or dine in, I'm here at least every other week.

Pretty good Chinese food for Fairfield. The staff is always nice and friendly. Their crab rangoon with spicy mustard sauce is our favorite!

    (4)
  • vince g.

This place has the best crab cheese and chow mein in town. The food isn't greasy or covered with syrup like most places around here. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is the price, definitely one of the most expensive in town.

After a long day shopping in Sacramento we were starving and my mother was craving chinese food. Considering I have eaten at many chinese restaurants before i'm always picky about the food and customer service. Pros: -Excellent customer service. The gentleman working there had such charisma, manners, just an outstanding individual. (We need more people like that in this world) -The quality of the food was great not greasy just perfect -The place was nicely decorated -Not much noise Cons: -The portions are pretty small but hey technically we are supposed to eat small portions ;) Overall, thanks for a good experience after a long day! def, will be back!

  • Ruben S.

Stopped by last minute because my wife loves Chinese food, and a friend recommended it. I gave it three stars because the rice barely had meat and I was disappointed with the half size container our cashew chicken came in.$10 is to much for that size, My wife and I only had enough for one serving each. The food was tasty.

  • Paris J.

This is my second time here. First, the portions are very small. Second, I order the chow fun and didn't realize until I got home and comfortable that they gave me chow mien. When I called to tell them they made a mistake they said to bring the food back. When I got there the manager basically tried to tell me that I ordered wrong and would have to pay the extra for the chow fun. How rude, right! Well with a Chinese restaurant on every corner, I could do without this kind of service!

    (2)
  • Mercy D.

Great service, good food, comfortable atmosphere. I ordered the eggplant schezuan lunch special that came with soup, fried rice or chow mein and an eggroll. I added chicken to it and got half fried rice and half chow mein which was a dollar extra. Big portions! I couldn't eat all of it but I think it would've been perfect for two people to share. Their mein and fried rice were awesome. I was a bit disappointed in the eggplant. Not as spicy as I would've liked and the skin was pretty inedible.

    (4)
  • Rae R.

First off the chow mein here lacks flavor! They need to add more sauce or something to it. It was dry and plain. Rarely any veggies or anything. Very disappointed

Wish I had four hands so I could give this place four thumbs down!!! Went here because of the reviews but it was no bueno. Food was lacking seasoning and authenticity. Poor slow service. But the food was defiantly the worst part.

This is easily my new favorite Chinese food restaurant. Exceptional service, delicious crab rangoons, BBQ pork fried rice, and Kung pao chicken. Family friendly, we brought a 3 yr old and a 6 month old. Very accommodating, kind people. We will be back for sure!

the food here is just okay, you don't get much for $30. We ordered ginger beef, fried rice and an order of crab Rangoon. I was highly disappointed in the price and taste. Wont be returning.

I grew up in San Francisco and I know good Chinese food, plus my best friend is Chinese American. Nevertheless, I finally found a good Chinese Restaurant after living in Fairfield for so many years. I go to Peking Restaurant at least twice a month. Their prices are fair, not too expenses and the food is extremely good. I would recommend this restaurant if you want a "Good Down Home Chinese Meal". You must check it out, and tell them Chris sent you. :)

  • Sam H.

Absolutely love this place. Great food and great service whether it be take out or dine in. Affordable and high quality ingredients. I've been going there since a kid and it's still in business. Good portions, great food, and a friendly family owned restaurant. Definitely a must go if you're ever in the fairfield area.

  • Paul W.

Peking is a great Chinese restaurant. The reason I'm writing this review is that I lived in Fairfield for over 20 years and Peking is the best Chinese restaurant in the area. They don't have fancy scrolls on the wall with vaulted ceilings or granite countertops with motion recognition faucets in the restrooms... What they do have is delicious food and fast friendly service. I highly recommend Peking Restaurant, oh and make sure you try the general tsao (Szechuan) chicken it is ridiculously good. Enjoy!

ordered take out at aroud 8:15 this evening...chicken broccoli for me shrimp w/ snow peas for missus...broccoli was perfect- crisp tender and chicken was very good. both drenched in typical brown sauce...presentation was not an issue as it was to go in your usual box...been in fairfield since 1989 and don't recall ever being here...too bad, because i fell for the dynasty award trap, too...nothin' fancy here but definitely going back! bye-bye dynasty! oh yeah, i'm not sure if that was jenny at the register but she is a wonderful lady! PS: will update after mama gets home to eat her shrimp and snow peas...

I recently found this restaurant and thought Wow.....this is the best Chinese Food in Fairfield. On my 7th and final visit which was last night I found a dead / fried roach in my Combo Fried Rice. Eat here at you own risk!

  • Stephanie Y.

I might be bias because I'm chinese, but this is a typical american chinese restaurant. The sauces are thick, so you know it's filled with msg and cornstarch. The wonton soup plus (which had more than just wonton soup) was pretty bland and filled with MSG. There was pork moo shoo, crispy noodles, and other dishes that were not memorable.

    (2)

Always satisfying food and good service. Not a high end restaurant but when the food is good, that is truly matters.

This place is the BEST in Fairfield! Been going here for a while now and the food is always hot and delicious! We come here for the great food and they are the nicest people. Great customer service and great food.......hard to find anymore.

We left SF at the wrong time of day...5:30 on a Friday night. It took us 2.5 hours to get from the Golden Gate Bridge to Fairfield....At that point we were starving. SO we hop on yelp looking for some Chinese Food....The Peking Restaurant had good reviews and for good reason. May I first of recommend their spicy wonton. Its wonderful! Not only is the broth a nice mix of spice and lemon grass but the wontons were splendid. We also ordered the mongolian beef, chow mein and beef fried rice. All of it was excellent...But the real deal about this restaurant is the people that own and work there. Incredibly pleasant, and it seems that everyone that went in there were known by name. We will be stopping again on our next trip to the City.

Was alright, nothing special to me.. your usual chinese spot. Loved the chow mein noodles! But the fried rice was enh. Szechaun was ok, had a nice little kick to it. Wife liked her beef n broc.

Darn It! I really wanted to like this restaurant and support local business- although the employes/owners were kind and nice, the food was horrible :(. We order the orange chicken, chicken chow mein, tofu with green beans and rice. First of all I called in our order at 7:30 pm. The waitress told me it will be 1 hr wait for our food since it was Mother's Day. The waitress had us wIt another 20 min for our order. By this time my kids were cranky AND hungry!!!

I think my fiancee and I have found our go-to Chinese place. The lunch special B is pretty awesome: Egg Roll, Soup of the Day, Chow Mein/Chicken Fried Rice, and your choice of one of the listed entrees (I ordered General Tso's) for $8.50. We also ordered some crab rangoon and some extra egg rolls. The food was pretty good. Standard stuff on the menu. They have some interesting selections on the menu like Kung Pao Calamari and General Chao's (Tso's) Sliced Fish, all of which sounds very delicious. The food was well prepared and delicious. The good thing is, it wasn't greasy or over saturated in sauce (just the right combo). The crab rangoon was imitation crab so it was a little sweeter than you might expect but still tasty. The egg rolls weren't my favorite (that goes to King Egg Rolls in San Jose) but definitely weren't the worse. They give you a big dipping container of sweet and sour sauce (delicious!) so it makes up for it. We ordered take-out so I can't comment on the wait staff, however, judging from other yelper's reviews AND the experience we had with the hostess who was very nice and attentive, I'd say you can't go wrong here. Great food. Decent price. Nice and Attentive Staff. UPDATE (9/22/2012): We ate in house this time and the staff was awesome! Excellent/fast service and another great meal! We will definitely be returning :)

extraordinarily good! i stumbled in to this strip mall chinese restaurant because i was stuck at the marriot for a training class. the hostess Jenny was sweet and friendly. the bussperson did not speak a word of english, only mandarin, adding to the authenticity. the won ton soup was perfect, using obviuosly homemade wontons. the family vegetable tofu was delicious, spicy and fresh like nothing ive had in 20 years! i will make it a point to go back.

One of our favorite restaurants to eat. Sandy, the owner, is friendly and always has a smile. Food is good and I end up with a couple of lunches from the 'planned' overs from dinner!

We've been coming to Peking for about 5 years now. Incredibly fast take out, friendly owners call us by name and have never made us feel unwelcome. The food is consistently good and the shrimp dishes are great. Jenny is a sweetheart and when they get ready to do a commercial, they should have her do it! I grew up in Fairfield and this is the best Chinese Fairfield has seen in 35 years.

I Yelped this place and read all of the reviews. It looked pretty good so onward ho to Peking Restaurant. Seated right away, I went with their lunch special - served daily from 11:15 am to 3:30 pm and noon to 3:30 pm on Sundays. Their lunch special was split into two columns (A and B). Column A served with Steamed Rice or Chow Mein and House Soup. Column B served with Chicken Fried Rice or Chow Mein, House Soup and Egg Roll. I couldn't quite put a handle on the category criteria for each unique dish offered under the split column option as they both had chicken, beef and seafood offered. Anyway I got the Chicken in Special Szechuan Sauce under the B section (general cho's chicken) 8.75. Soon enough egg flower soup was served. It didn't take long before the general checked in. The chicken fried rice was tasty and the szechuan chicken was satisfying. The egg roll was a nice added stuffer. Their complimentary house tea was better than your average joe. Good, fast, friendly service and nice portions...

Dropped in late on a Sunday night. Surprisingly the place wasn't empty even at this late hour and it looked like takeout service was busy. We ordered hot and spicy wontons. This is an authentic dish whose presence on the menu tells me something special. Their rendition of it was excellent and I highly recommend it if you haven't had it before. It's Gglike a dumpling heavy, very spicy wonton soup. we also ordered sesame beef, honey walnut prawns, and house fried rice. The beef met expectations and the walnut prawns were an excellent rendition of another authentic dish. The house fried rice was very generous with the meats and also exceeded expectations. Since it was off hours it's not that surprising, but the service was also particularly attentive and friendly. All in all I'm glad I found this gem, and I'm sure I'll be back if I'm in the area.

LOVE this place! We order take out from here often and have just started coming in to eat. The shrimp rolls are a must. Not greasy and so flavorful. The service has always been great and the prices for the quantity and quality are awesome!

This place hasn't changed much since I have been coming here. I was 7 in 1991 when my family moved to town and this was our family restaurant. We STILL come here. The portions have decreased in size, but family owned, good service, and good food. The War won ton soup my mother ALWAYS picks up for me when I'm not feeling well. :)

This has been my go-to spot for a quick, filling lunch to-go. I've even found myself coming back on my days off. Which in my book is a no, no being I don't want to associate myself with work during days off. But seriously - this food is delicious! I'm an SF native so, good Chinese is hard to come by in suburbia. 1. Decent priced lunch specials with, decent sized portions. 2. Usually a main entree over rice (maybe chow mein too but, I've never asked) comes to-go in the classic white styrofoam container - made to order. 3. SOUP, TO-GO! Very rare will a restaurant send soup to-go. Its usually dine in only I've noticed. FYI; in my opinion, the egg-drop soup is pretty tasty. Not bland or watered down at all. No need for added flavor. 4. Call ahead and receive the classic "15-20 min wait" response which is always true to form. It's faster if you're on the go to call ahead. Staff is friendly, restaurant itself seems to accommodate large and small parties, food ingredients have always remained consistent in freshness and in quality, ample parking, and for a small business they stay open "late" by Fairfield standards - 9pm, watch out now! LOL.

Best eggplant I've ever had. Very small but comfortable restaurant. Well worth a return trip when I'm back in this area. Chefs really have the touch ! I cant wait to return.

We're in Fairfield for a couple of days attending a seminar. When hunger set in, we needed something to eat soon. We used the monocle feature on the Droid Yelp app. We located this restaurant and a Japanese one. Since there were others joining us, we settled on Peking. The staff was pleasant and accomodating. We were the last ones there and the staff patiently cleaned up other parts of the restaurant while we were wrapping up. There is nothing special about the place itself. Plain. But it was clean. We ordered one of the specials .. the Peking something-or-other for 5. We had a lot of food. Just when I thought they were done bringing us food, they brought us even more. We all walked away full. We took some with us and then gave it to a homeless woman. I hope she ate it. It would have satisfied her hunger for the evening and the taste would have brought a smile to her face. If this restaurant were in Orange County we would be back soon. It may not be good enough for a 400 mile drive. :-)

Best Chinese food I've ever had. Even as I'm sitting here eating the left overs it's amazing! The orange shrimp was crispy and flavorful. The sweet and sour chicken was better then any I've ever had. I was very VERY impressed. I'm coming here again as soon as possible.

  • Nicole H.

I tried Peking for the first time today based off the good Yelp reviews. I ordered my food to go and the lady I spoke with was very friendly, easy to understand, and helpful. The food was good, although I wasn't too impressed with the egg rolls or crab rangoon. The egg rolls didn't have a lot of flavor and I'm pretty sure the crab rangoon was made with imitation crab. My order of the house chow fun was delicious. I also had a bit of General Chao's chicken (aka General Tso's chicken) and that was very good as well. Overall, the food and service were good, I will definitely be back!

Just tried this restaurant after reading its good reviews. The 2 female employees were very friendly and provided perfect service. The egg foo yung which is not found easily in the bay area was a unique style...mostly egg in the pancake and then a pile of meat and vegetables on top. It was okay, but I prefer the more traditional style. The gravy was not as thick as I'm used to, but like I say, this particular dish is their own creation in order to be different. Almond chicken: chicken was wonderfully tender so this was a good dish. Also, the house rice was good and I never add flavor to fried rice, but this dish needed just a dab of soy sauce to bring it to my liking, so once again, a good dish. My FAVORITE item were the shrimp egg rolls my husband ordered. More like a fried shrimp appetizer, but with green onion and a green pea or 2 inside the wonton wrapper. Fresh, light and filling and you get 8 of them! I could have made dinner just out of those...I loved them.

  • Lolailo Y.

For customer service, I give them five stars. But for the food, it only gets a mediocre two. The sizzling seafood platter was very bland. The scallops had no flavor whatsoever. The mushrooms tasted past their prime. Same thing can be said about the glazed spareribs. The sauce was good, as good as you can expect a sweet and gooey red sauce to be, but the pork was stringy and seemed old. The best thing of the night was the hot and sour soup. While we were there, we noticed many of the other diners were regulars. Who knows? Maybe we had bad luck with our selections.

  • Jennifer B.

Been going here since they opened, always had friendly service, great food, and quiet dining... after I moved out of town it was hard to find Chinese food done as well as the recipes here, especially my fave lemon chicken.

  • Patric S.

Not that great as the other reviews indicated. I came for dinner late afternoon on a Saturday. Only two specials were available, not a large amount of combination dinners that most Chinese restaurants offer. I wanted the Wonton soup for appetizer but they only offer that for 2-3 people @ $8, not as an individual serving! So I ordered the Kung Pao chicken. It does not come with white or brown rice so I ordered the barbecue pork fried rice as a side order. The food came quickly and service was good throughout the meal. The Kung Pao chicken was slimy and not very appealing and maybe a 2 on a scale from 1-10. The fried rice was good and the pieces of pork were tasty with a distinct barbecue taste. However, there were a large amount of fatty and inedible pieces of pork which brought my score down to a 5 for that dish. Conclusion; there are much better Chinese restaurants around both when it comes to quality and taste of the food and value.

I decided to give this place a shot since I was driving back to sac from sf and this place was conveniently located near the freeway. I'd have to say this place is one of the best Chinese foods I've ever tasted! The ingredients tasted really fresh and full of flavor. My bf had the almond chicken and I had cherry chicken I believe and we decided to share the chow mein. The portions are big & everything tasted great. The service was wonderful and I'll probably stop in again to try their other dishes!

One day I really had a craving for Chinese food. Not just any run of the mill Chinese, but something really good. So I went on Yelp and looked up reviews, and happened upon the page for this place. After reading some reviews, I headed straight over. I ordered way too much food, because my eyes were really bigger than my stomach at that point. I was doing take out and it took a little long because of what I ordered (some garlic chicken that they had to fry). The guy kindly suggested that I call in an order next time so that I don't have to wait so long (which I do now) Anyhoo so when I got home and ate, the food was AMAZING. So tasty and not greasy or salty at all. I didn't feel sick after eating it either (like some Chinese food does to you). Ever since that first time I have been back here several times to get my fix. I am so glad I discovered this place. Thank you Yelp!

My favorite Chinese place in Fairfield. Good and friendly service. Prices are very reasonable. There are many good choices, but I always end up back at the egg rolls, and either the cherry chicken or the twice-cooked pork. Simply fantastic.

I've only been to this place once, and I was pleasantly surprised. The Cherry Pork is a must-try. Very friendly staff.

I couldn't even wait til' I was eating before I have to share the good news. This place is soooo good. I ordered the fried spare ribs, sweet & sour pork, Chinese bbq beef with spinach, and the house fried rice. The spare ribs are crispy and fun to eat. They come with a sweet sauce, not like the thin- runny kind you usually get. This stuff was thick and sweet :) The portions are huge for the price! I ordered for two and it's enough for four. The woman at the register said they have been there for 27 years and I know why. And it was a total bonus seeing all the cute old couples chowin' down side by side :)

I love Peking Restaurant. Its been around for over 25 years and I've grown up eating the food. It's fresh, healthy and simply delicious. The lettuce wrapped chicken and honey walnut prawns are my fav. The service is the best. It's a great family restaurant, very inviting and the food cant be beat. The owner is a health nut, so he is always looking to improve the quality of the food he serves. Jennie is a sweetheart! Give it a try! I live in the city and drive there just to have a home-cooked meal. Also its a great stopping point to and from tahoe, or the outlets in napa and vacaville.

It's alright... Fast service and the waitstaff was good, but the food was so-so. Maybe because I was craving Chinese.

We ordered the mongolian beef and hot and sour soup. Both dishes were okay. I don't consider it good Chinese food. The mongolian beef was lacking flavor and the meat was kind of tough and chewy. The hot and sour soup didn't have enough flavor as well. Not enough pepper and needed to be a wee bit more chunky. Would have liked it more if they put some shrimp and mushrooms in it.

Been to nearly every Chinese restaurant in the surrounding 20 miles but keep coming back to Peking. The cherry chicken isn't soggy and tomato-y like other places. The sesame beef is super tasty. I also like the chow funs. The crab rangoons are awesome. Jenny is one of the owners and is super sweet. She recognizes our voices on the phone and often anticipates our order!

The taste of the food was great but the to-go portions were too small considering the amount of money we paid. We got Sesame Chicken $9.50, Chicken Curry $9.50, and Chicken Chow Mein $9.50. You don't get rice or an eggroll with that. I guess that is how its done in CA, (originally from CO, where rice and eggroll are included in your to-go meal). So the price for what you get, not so good. But if you're more after taste than quanity, it was great.

Been here dozens of times, and never had bad service or food. If it sounds good, it will taste good! Their prices are very reasonable for dinner, and downright cheap for lunch. Decor is old, but very "chinese restauranty."

If I could give more than 5 stars to Peking, I would. Peking is seriously the BEST Chinese food I have ever had. I'm 29 and my family has been going there since I was in pre-school! The food quality is always excellent and never once in 25+ years have I or my family been unsatisfied with the food or the atmosphere. If you try it once, you'll be hooked. The owners are so amazing and such great people. Jenny and Steve treat their regular customers like family. With the economy being so tough I worry that little home-town places are struggling but every time I go to Peking they are busy! It's because people love it so much! Try it!

We went here last week just to check it out since some folks had given it a 4-5 star rating. We ordered the house special fried rice and ginger beef with vegetable stir-fry. The food came out really fast, probably because it was mid-week early in the evening. The fried rice had a good flavor. It had beef, shrimp and I think chicken in it, and the typical mixed vegetables. The shrimp tasted old though, kinda mushy (when you know it's been sitting in the fridge for more than 3-4 days...). The beef dish wasn't that great neither. The beef was fatty and chewy. The sauce definitely had too much corn starch and was thick and sloopy. Also there was supposed to be snap peas in the dish, we counted there were 4 snap peas in the whole dish! Naturally, we weren't really happy with our meals. The price was kinda of expensive too, compared to the other Chinese restaurants in the local area. We probably won't come back again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
