I used to come here for breakfast when I was in grad school in Davis in the 90s. The place has hardly changed. We had a great experience. Took the family for breakfast. I had a Denver omelet & cottage fries but couldn't finish there was so much food! Girls had pancakes- the flavor was very good but odd consistency. - tough to cut Hubby had 2 eggs and meat platter and he enjoyed it. Service was slow. We were not in a hurry but it was s-l-o-w

I ordered the pizza omelet because of how interesting and unusual it sounded and I was not disappointed. While very different, I enjoyed it being that I am not a huge breakfast fan. It was also big and full of pepperoni while covered with marinara sauce I found to be pretty tasty. Nice service, and family owned.

Decent food. Not my favorite, but my grandma came here 2-3x a week before she died for probably 20 years! This was her favorite restaurant! After her funeral we had our family lunch here to celebrate in honor of her! Definitely worth trying if you haven't.

A good family restaurant. The spaghetti/meatballs with a side garden salad (always very fresh) always hits the spot

If you're looking for an Italian food fix along I-80 around the Davis area, this is your place. It's easy to get to since it's right off of Richards Boulevard (in either direction). The food is your standard Italian fare. The bread is buttery, the side salad had a bit too much dressing for my taste (ask for it on the side) and the lasagna satisfied my occasional cravings for the dish. I came with an empty stomach and left full from the carbs. I think I remember seeing daily specials which is perfect for a town full of college students on a budget. Support local businesses (especially you peeps in Davis) and dine here.

I LOVE this place! It's dimmly lit so it's perfect for a date night. I love the fettucini Alfredo, the sauce is very creamy and smooth with an excellent flavor. I like how you can draw on the table with crayons, makes it a fun and playful experience.

We were looking for an Italian place in Davis, as my boyfriend had never gone to an Italian restaurant before and must I say, I was not disappointed at all! The environment of Caffe Italia is like that of what you'd want an Italian place to be like. It's really cute how they have paper as the table's cover, I enjoy writing on it while I'm waiting. The service was really good also. The food was really really good. I felt like it was pretty authentic enough and I joined the rewards program because I'm sucker for saying yes.

I had the pasta arrabiatta. Absolutely delicious, just enough spice. Servers were very friendly and attentive. I love the jazzy vibe of the restaurant and I love that it is peaceful and quiet. Garlic bread was best I've had in awhile. Only negative was it took a little time to order but I could tell they were short on staffing.

After hearing how great the Italian food was here, I gave this place numerous chances and, unfortunately, received mediocrity every time. I especially had high hopes for the pasta arriabata. However, there was no kick, no spicyness to it and instead reminded me of something that comes out of a can of Chef Boyardee. I'm only willing to come here for the breakfasts and even that doesn't happen very often.

    - Seriously, I make better pasta dishes at home (and I'm not exactly a trained chef). I almost did something I never do, which is send it back. Dousing my pasta pomodoro with a whole lot of salt brought it up to edible. As far as the garlic bread everyone

Really delicious place! It's got a very cozy and pleasant atmosphere. If you like Italian food this is the place to go in Davis. Way better than Paesano's! And it makes a great date night location with it giving off a hidden gem feeling.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
