Husband and I went inside to have lunch today, and I gotta say, the subs we got were bomb!! Great food and service was awesome! We will come back again!

Wow!..Do yourself a favor-order "The Mandanator"!..GREAT sandwich, from the soft roll to the fresh ingredients and all the goodness in between. That choice is a winner! Btw, the cupcakes the owner creates are killin' too!

updating my review just because i'm absolutely obsessed. the TBAC (turkey bacon avocado cheese) is one of the top 10 most delicious things i've ever put in my mouth. EVER. their bread is to die for, as is their special oil that they make sure to include even when you order to-go. spend the extra couple of dollars and come here - you won't regret it and your hungry tummy will thank you.

The gf is also a yelper so she found this little gem surfing away for her lunch of choice...sandwiches. I ordered the meatball for hot variety and she got a cold variety (sorry forgot the name). The bread was nice and soft on both and the ingredients were pretty good. No real pop though. Just a sandwich I feel l could make at home. It's surely not a disappointment (by the 3 star rating), i'm just not a yelp whore that puts 5 stars if something is okay. Also really trying still to get yelp to implement 1/2 stars. I would give them 3 1/2 stars. But come by and check it out for yourself. They are really nice and friendly and it's worth the experience.

I've never had a sandwich that I can resist or turn down. This place made my stomach full and happy while keeping my bf's wallet still thick. However, it was a typical sandwich spot. I had the one of the specials with capicola and the bf had meatball. Overall, nothing wowing but I'll try the Turkey Bacon Avocado that everyone raves about next time and do an update. Pro: Service Price Size Con: Typical

Awesome sandwiches and the gal that owns Subs N Grub is a very nice lady! I love the Turkey Bacon Avocado Cheese sandwich!

So i am alittle behind on writing reviews but here i go. This place is adorable. Cute, handmade decor... glitter, fun colors, a checkered floor, articles that support the local schools and city and tons of charm. The staff is absolutely endearing and you automatically can tell the customers are all locals. The hours are alittle random as i assume because they only need to be open to serve the local business lunches....but other then that i would say they are fabulous! Hearty servings, and fresh soft bread, great variety and ice cream. I would reccomend it to anyone, and now that i have had this subway just doesn't cut it/

Came in, greeted by their owner? I'm guessing some nice lady that makes a convo with you. Tried their "TBAC" [Turkey Bacon Avocado Cheese]. It was pretty good, but nothing to go crazy over. I wish they toasted their buns ): Their special oil they put over the sandwich makes a difference. They don't skim out on the stuff they put on there [lettuce, avocado, bacon] it's pretty big. I usually don't get full off of 12 inch subs [almost 10 dollars using a card], but the sandwich here made me pretty full... I'd come back once in a while [:

I love this place! the TBAC is mind blowing, and certainly turned me against subway. The ingredients are fresh, the bread is beyond amazing, and their customer service is spot on! Another great thing is the variety that they have, not only in the sandwiches but with the chips and drinks as well. They also started making cupcakes that turned me against sprinkles now. Cannot wait to return!!

Little on the pricey side, but the service and quality of the meat and breads make it worth it. Family owned and run, which is always a nice bonus.

Sandwiches are Just ok. I had the meatball sub but it was incredibly dry and seemed as though they were chintzy with the sauce, but the real kicker was that I seemed to wait forever for them to make the sandwich. I usually understand that places can fall behind and get delayed, but I was the only person in there and the staff were uninterested and lacked any sense of urgency and customer service. Don't think I will be back again.

It was ok I just am not a fan of the high prices and the fact that they won't allow bread types on their lunch special with a half sandwich. I wanted to get the lunch special with a half sandwich, drink and chips. Just to switch from chips to potato salad I would have had to pay .75 cents. Ok that wasn't too bad. Then I said squaw bread, I was then informed by the woman making sandwiches white roll only, no switching. I even offered to pay more and she gave me a firm "no". So then I had to pay for a full sandwich and side of potato salad. Then they charge you for using a card .75 cents and try to make you feel better about it by saying they have to pay a $1.30 fee. Well you own a business and that's not my problem that you pay fees for credit card use. Maybe change it to cash only? I don't know, I definitely like Joe's better and while the sandwich was ok and the staff was really nice- I don't know if I would return.

Hands down one of the best sandwich places around. After going there only a handful of times, the owner already knows me by name and knows exactly what sandwich I like. I highly recommend the Turkey Philly or the East Coast Special. Both sandwiches are awesome. I would recommend this place to anyone, not only for their great sandwiches, but also for the great customer service.

Only been in once for ice cream and a soda. Reasonably priced but beware if you use your card they charge over $1. Cute decor and nice staff.

Their TBAC (turkey, bacon, avocado, cheese) sub is one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. I would eat one every day if I could. My brother tried the pastrami sub and said it was amazing. I highly recommend this place.

Turkey Bacon Avocado- thats all you need to know. Even through change of ownership this sandwich has not altered and could do no wrong in my eyes.

I've lived by this place for many years and never tried it. Mostly because the parking situation in this shopping center sucks. Anyways, went with the hubs for a quick lunch date. He got the chicken salad sandwich (the Firehouse?) and I got the TBAC. Both sandwiches were de-lish! This is a total go-to sub place. Glad I read the reviews and knew about the extra charge for using credit/debit card (.75 extra) so I wasn't surprised. They had chips, macaroni salad and pasta salad side options. Sodas in cans or bottles (no fountain). Cookies and ding-dongs for dessert options. Best of all THRIFTY ICE CREAM (although they didn't use the Thrifty style scooper). Definitely coming back to grub at Subs N Grub.

LOVE their tuna sandwich! definitely coming back to try their philly cheesesteak sandwich! YUMMY =D

Such a wonder ful little spot. The bread is so fresh and the meat is piled on. The service is very personable. My gf works down the street, so whenever chance I get I go there with her. A rewally nice place for lunch.

Good place to grab a bite to eat in Cypress. Quality meats, fresh soft breads, fair prices and friendly service. Mom and daughter shop, local Cypress owned.

Seems there's a sandwich shop boom in this local area. We have Joe's Gourmet Sandwiches, the Sub Shop and now I found another one, Sub's N Grub. The good news is that so far, these places are all good. They use fresh ingredients and their price point delivers a good value. Subs 'N Grub's price point is higher than Joe's (btw,Joe doesn't offer a LG sandwich) and the Sub Shop, but if you are in the "size matters" club, this place is for you. They make a huge sandwich, so the value for what you get is still good. Their large sandwiches are in the $7.00 range, but are bigger than a Subway footlong. They use better quality ingredients than Subway and they really pack their sandwiches full of meat and stuff, no skimping here. I had the Zack Attack, which was basically a bacon turkey club with ranch on a huge white roll. Was it the most amazing, best tasting sandwich I ever had? No, but it was indeed very good, and competitive in flavor and freshness to the other local shops. Again, the impressive thing here is size. The large will easily feed two people. I ordered to go, but I noticed the decor was kinda cool and funky. I might stay and eat here next time.

Cute little sandwich shop and friendly staff but nothing too special about this place. Sandwiches are average and a little pricey. Ideal for grabbing a quick sandwich on lunch break. Probably won't be going back.

Yummy yummy yummy yummmy yummmy!! I loooove me a good turkey/advocado sammich. And I like the turkey to taste like actual turkey. And the advocado not to look like it came out of a tub from Albertsons. So I'm a pretty big fan of mom & pop sandwich shops. This place is tucked away in a little shopping center in Cypress really close to my office (score.) From the looks (and taste!) of it, they use really fresh ingredients. My sandwich was on reeeeally soft bread and it had a yummy oil and vinegar on it, perfect. I dont think it gets better for a quick lunchtime meal. Plus, the girl that was working (owner maybe?) was so friendly. My total happened to come out to 6.66, so she made it 6.65, just in case. She told me a story about how a customer wouldnt let her take the penny off, insisting he wasnt superstitious, and had his van slammed into in the parking lot shortly thereafter. Let her take the penny off.

I had a turkey and cheese sandwich on wheat. I thought the bread and tomatoes were very fresh and moist and overall some good flavor, however the turkey was heavily processed. It reminded me of what you get in a Lunchables.

  • Gigi M.

Their turkey, bacon, avocado sub is the bomb as attested by other Yelpers - thanks guys, you were right!! Love the abundant turkey packed in, the cuts are great! I was not too impressed with their Italian combo, nothing special. The bread didn't seem homemade, more like the loaves they preorder. Glad they had a selection of wheat and white. Will definitely be back for the TBA! Oh and you'll be better off bringing cash! They accept cc and debit but they add on a $0.96 fee.

  • Sara P.

This place has been my favorite since I was in high school! I love it! The staff is so friendly and their sandwiches are to die for! This place never disappoints, except when it's closed. I usually get the roast beef, cheese, and avocado on wheat, or the turkey with avocado but today I tried the tuna and it was pretty yummy. Definitely try this place out! You won't regret it!

Turkey Bacon Avocado and Dads Original root-beer for lunch? Sounds like a date! This place is clean, and comfortable feeling inside and the owners are very nice!

These used to be the best sandwiches around. Since being taken over by the new owners, it's just not the same. The sandwiches are good, but not great like they used to be. Definately try the turkey/avocado/cheese and roast beef/bacon/cheese. The new owners added some kind of italian dressing that the previous owners didn't use the last time I was there. Not a big fan of the dressing. Very strong oregano taste. Ask for it on the side and judge for yourself.

I used to go to Subs and Grub all the time when I was an assisstant and needed to pick up lunches for our office. Nestled away in the little mini mall next to the post office, Subs and Grub is difficult to find (and park at!) if you don't know it's there but if you're in the know, then you know that you'll circle for a little while to snatch up a parking spot. If you could park in one of the other neighboring businesses and walk over, you'd probably be more in luck because everyone and their mother is trying to use the post office during the lunch hour. Anywho, Subs and Grub treats their regulars right--not only do they have a fun photo board up of all of their best customers, but they do little raffles each month where you can guess the number of candies in their jar on the counter to win free subs and the like. The owners (a mother and daughter team) are extremely friendly and they always do their best to please. I was always able to put phone orders in and have them remember me on the phone and have everything ready to go for me when I came in for a pick-up--great service. They have really tried to make the inside a cute place to sit and eat, too--there is bright paint on the walls, lots of fun photographs, and a small dining area in the back, though this is probably best as a take-out place simply because of how crowded it gets. The owners are also involved in a lot of community events which is nice--you can tell Subs and Grub is a labor of love and is something that they are really invested in--how often do you get that when you're going to pick up your sandwiches?! Menu-wise, I'm a sucker for big, ostentatious sandwiches--the subs here are just that--no frills, but lots of ingredients and quality--very east coast style--something you'd want to feed to a trucker or a construction worker--I like that. As with all other Yelpers, I had requests for the TBAC the most and it is magnificent. Another one I really loved was their roast beef and cheese sandwich with everything on it--it really packed a punch and was a hit with clients. Why bother with chips when you're eating a huge sandwich like this loaded with meats and cheeses? If you do want sides, they're trying to offer a variety of items you can get--I know that they're experimenting with having a house potato and pasta salad--right now I don't believe they come with your meal at all, but if you want a few extra calories, those would probably be good with your sandwich, too. All in all, a solidly delicious lunch spot and once you get hooked, you'll understand why there are always people going back!

My family and I used to be huge customers of this place, but unfortunately since the new owners took over the place, the quality of the sandwich is not the same as it used to be when the Yangs used to own the place. I usually order the bacon, avocado, roast beef sandwich and it was good. But it was not as tasty as before and the owner says it is the same ingredients and everything else and it probably is, but there is something missing. Maybe I should go and try it again right. Anyways they have Italian ice, I got to try it. The new owners are nice however and is family runned.

The one sub I tried here, on my first visit, was the Turkey Bacon Avocado Cheese. All the veggies, all the condiments. This sandwich was off the hook! The meat appeared to be real deli meat, all the vegetables were fresh, and the fresh bread was soft and doughy.. a symphony of perfect flavors reaching it's crescendo in each and every bite. The one thing I would have preferred was a little bit more mayo/mustard, but that's just my own preference. The sandwich was one of the best I've had in quite some time. Also tried the potato salad, which was just as good if not better than the sandwich. Homemade with a unique ingredient (too busy enjoying and scarfing it down to try to figure out what said ingredient was) and seasoned perfectly. Definitely will be back to try out other sandwiches on the menu.

So I was looking for a place to cater my next event of 75 people. I went in and only one lady ahead of me. I ordered 4 sandwichs so we could try a variety. I found the staff to be a bit sour faced, not friendly like some of the reviews I read!!! It was 11 a.m. not crowded but people did come in right after I got there. I waited 20 minutes for my sandwich (meatball) according to the stone faced staff "it takes awhile" and I should have called and ordered BEFORE I came in. I found this a bit discouraging as a new customer how would I know this? There were four employee's 3 of which were standing around looking a bit lost. The sandwhichs were good but I really feel if I want a great food experience for my event I would rather deal with more gracious staff. Just my opinion but since it would be costly I really do expect some basic customer service skills. I won't use them but like I said it is because of the lack of service NOT the quality of food.

I've been eating at Subs N Grub for years when it first started out on Lincoln and Denni St. in Cypress. Then they opened the other shop on Cerritos. Eventually it changed owner ship and now only the shop on Cerritos is open. The great news was that the sandwiches stayed the same. I've always gotten and turkey, bacon, avocado with American cheese with everything on it including onions and pickles please! So so so yummy! So much better than subway! Or any of the big chain sandwich shops. The ladies who help me where nice! They always have an unusual selection of sodas and tons of chips to choose from. Defiantly a great sandwich shop!

    (5)
  • Elda P.

I love their TBAC. Ingredients are fresh, prices are reasonable and the owners are super friendly. They have a good selection of chips and drinks, I especially like the salt and vinegar chips! They do take credit cards now, but it's a 90 cent fee.

  • robert m.

If you like sandwiches, this is definitely a place to go. Especially if you like BBQ Roast Beef sandwiches. it's the best thing they have on the menu, and I would know. It's recently been taken over by a new owner, but it still has the same great taste. The selection of veggies is a little disappointing though. Not much more than lettuce and tomatoes, but what else do you really need? Just make sure you bring cash. They don't take anything else.

    (3)
  • Alisa D.

Awesome sandwiches! I highly reccomend the Turkey Bacon Avocado Cheese...yummy! They do take debit now, which is a definite plus. Only downside is that they're never really open for dinner. Wish they had better hours.

  • P C.

The previous owner remembered most peoples orders. I always got the Turkey Bacon Avocado. I haven't found a sandwich of that caliber yet. Until I do, I'll keep coming here for my TBA!

    (4)
  • Sarah S.

The best sandwiches in my hometown. I don't know what makes them so good but it keeps me coming back. They were indeed just taken over by a new owner, so I will have to deduct 1 star from the otherwise 5 star sandwich since the new owner doesn't know my sandwich the instant I walk in the door like the old owner did. However, I will still highly rate them as the new owner is committed to not changing anything--she even trained with the old owner for 2 months before buying the place and will not only use the same recipes but the same suppliers as well. And that's good enough for me to remain loyal.

  • K G.

Had to check this place out after reading Yelp reviews. Did not disappoint! Had the turkey cheese sandwich. The bread (french roll) was VERY fresh. When I ordered my sandwich, I said "I'll have the turkey cheese sandwich - provolone cheese, please." The gal behind the counter let me know they use mozerella cheese. Mozerella? Now you're talking! Overall, a very fresh and tasty sandwich. I will be back here again when I get a craving for a good sandwich (sorry, Subway and Quizno's, you've been replaced).

  • scion R.

This is one of the best sandwich joint 's around from their hot and cold sandwiches. I personally love their hot pastrami with white cheese from their chicken salad cold sandwich, the list just goes on. They have a large selections of soft drinks and their chip rack is fully loaded of choices. The best thing is their pricing, you can't beat their price from the taste of their sandwiches. Let me just tell you way bigger than subway, and Quiznos and so on.... and less cheeper. Those commercial sandwich joints is nothing compared to Subs n Grubs because they stick to the original recipes from the old location they had in Lincoln.

  • Fernando A.

Solid sub shop. Although it can be a lot more pricey than Subway, the additional charge is definitely worth it to me. The soft and fluffy bread is what really sets this place apart. The Turkey, bacon, avocado, cheese is a real winner as is the pastrami. Wasn't too wild about the tuna though. Service is typically friendly and fast. I did have one outlier situation that turned out to be an aberration rather than a frequent occurrence. They have cupcakes and brownies which look good but I haven't tried.

    (4)
  • Becca R.

Best sub I've ever had in my life. Service was on point; I mentioned it was my first time here and the woman at the front took the time to explain the various options I had including describing their signature sandwich. The environment is friendly, and the picture wall they have going is really neat. Glad I finally found a family owned sub shop that I can support- will be bringing my friends! Also their bread sizes are exactly what they say they are so that's a bonus :)

  • B D.

This place was recommended to me by a co-worker. I went in there and got an 8" TBAC sub on a French Roll.... REALLY good sandwich - very fresh and satisfying. Lots of cool little kitschy decor in the shop as well, and the Trivial Pursuit cards are fun to play with while you wait for your food (not that you'll be waiting long). My only critique is that there are no fountain drinks - bottled stuff only. But it's a good selection so whatever. I've put this on my list as a regular lunch stop and I would recommend you check it out as well!

  • Shannon B.

The OWNER, DONETTE, of this place has HORRIBLE customer service skills..... She (owner) actually HUNG UP on me when I asked a question about sandwich sizes. She said, very rudely, do you want to order or not.....The lady was very bitchy and rude. Said I could not order a "kids size" sandwich unless I ordered a bigger sandwich also......then she said "kids don't usually eat chicken salad" .....AND she asked if I was bringing my kid in with me to pick up my phone order......WTH......what is the matter with this woman !!!!!!!!! they are not accommodating at all to anything "special" ordered. TOO BAD because I had a lot of coworkers that wanted to order from here....they lost all our business !!!!

  • Correen B.

Wow! Just Wow! How this place could've gone from four stars to One I just don't know. I'm still quite pissed from my experience yesterday. I ordered a hot sandwich called the animal. It consists of meatballs, Italian sausage, marinara sauce and cheese. It was the biggest hot mess I have ever seen and not in a good way. The sandwich had clearly been thrown in the nuke, because the bread was rubberized, however the contents of my sandwich were barely lukewarm. I mean so cold that The cheese didn't melt. They delivered the sandwich to me with the meat and sauce still wrapped in Saran fresh from the nuke. If I wanted to make my own sandwich, I wouldn't have gone out for lunch. I wish I had just eaten the seven dollar bills instead, it would have been more satisfying...... Moral of the story... If you don't have the right equipment don't offer hot sandwiches. Moral #2- if you are going to eat here stick with a cold sandwich.

  • Clayton B.

The sub shop is kind of small but there was plenty of seating when we came in for lunch. The staff was very friendly and gave great recommendations. The best part is they give you a lot of meat for what you pay. I got The Train. It was great. They got my order correct and piled on the toppings! The worst part about here is there isn't a bathroom. Which is extremely unfortunate when you sit down to eat and have to go to Del Taco. Other than that, it's definitely a great place to grab a sub at. Wayyyy better than Subway.

  • Francine Y.

Ordered the Dolly - cranberry turkey avocado bacon sub with Italian dressing. It was ok, the cranberry wasn't evenly spread and the bacon was falling out of my sandwich - not very well made. Service was good though; maybe it was a new server/sandwich maker.

Cute indie sandwich shop near my work. So far I have had the meatball sub and the veggie sandwich. Yes... I am an odd paradox. Both sandwiches were tasty and made quickly and accurately. Service is friendly and efficient. What more can you ask for? :)

  • Rolanda S.

Legitimate review...I am as picky as they come about my bread, its either crispy and chewy or soft and just right! This was soft and just right. The shoppe is clean and the sandwich I had was Roast Beef...EXCELLENT AND NOT ONE PIECE WAS CHEWY OR FIBROUS. I loved it and hope they open in Los Alamitos. I was offered a Cup of Coffee Cupcake...Try One :) Made with real coffee and it was decadent. I also loved the owner as much as my Roast Beef...SHE CARES ABOUT HER FOOD AND HER SERVICE.

Favorite sandwich shop of all time. I always order the TBAC- their signature sub and haven't really tried anything else because it's THAT good. Friendly workers, good chip and drink selection. Been going to this place for years. Haven't met one person who didn't agree this place is amazing! Only thing- it's a little pricey, but totally worth it.

This place is AWESOME! Their sandwiches are really good. Their cupcakes are amazing! I ordered cupcakes for my birthday party and everyone said they were delicious. All the parties I have now, everyone always asks if I'm going to order THOSE cupcakes again. lol. Every flavor I've tried have been really good. I'm not really a chocolate eater but the smores cupcake is THE BOMB.COM!!!!!

I adore this place. Their signature sub is really really good. The TBAC (turkey, bacon, avocado and cheese), make sure to get it on squaw bread!! The bread is so soft and their sandwiches are HUGE. They definitely don't skimp on the turkey or avocado. The owner is so sweet, she gave me some of her italian dressing to try with my sandwich and it was delicious! I love places where the owners go the extra mile to make a customer happy. They have a lot of chips and sodas to choose from and CUPCAKES. They looked really good, I will have to come back and try some. My new favorite sandwich place. If you want a quality sandwich come here!

Great little sandwich place! Great customer service and friendly atmosphere. Lots of sandwich choices and combinations. Their 8" is loaded with meat and is easily too big for one person... And I eat a lot. Ask for them to cut it in half. They make their own ranch, so if you are a ranch lover, add some to the mix! Very good. Came here a few days in a row for my week in town. :-)

The lady who owns this place seems to be nice I suppose, but her employees are a piece of work! They are rude and seem bothered by people who aren't regulars. The girl taking my order was very rude and snippy. She never looked up at me and didn't even let me finish my order, she just assumed she knew what I wanted on my sandwich. She didn't by the way so I had to talk over her to make sure she got my order correct. My husband and I were waiting for our food in the dining room. We hear them call my name and my husband gets up to get my sandwich. Then a little bit later they call his name and he goes and gets his sandwich. We notice that everyone else sitting in the dining room had their meals served to them. We thought that was odd. We also had to ask them for the potato salad we ordered. If we hadn't, they would have never given it to us, which might have actually been a blessing, but I'll get to that in a moment. Now onto the food. I ordered the TBAC. It was good, no complaints. My husband ordered the firehouse I think it's called. He said it didn't taste all that great. We also ordered potato salad to share. YUCK!!! It tasted sour as if it had spoiled. It was also warm! I asked my husband to return it and to get our money back for it. The girl gave him attitude about it. She said they just made it so of course it would be warm. They never mentioned that they just made it beforehand, so how were we supposed to know? She told my husband that he could exchange it for another one or for a macaroni salad. Why would we want more warm potato salad? That just doesn't make sense. And if we wanted macaroni salad, we would have ordered it originally. My husband said he just wanted his money back and the owner eventually decided that would be ok, which is why I said she seemed kind of nice. The rudeness of the employees and that warm disgusting potato salad and my husband's not so great sandwich will guarantee we will never return there, but that probably won't make any difference since they seemed to be just fine with their regulars. If I could give zero stars I would.

Wow...how have I never eaten here before? Cozy little family ran sandwich shop. Great customer service and great quality of grub. I got the firestation "63". It's chicken salad, avocado, and cheese on squaw. It was so good that I'm literally typing this right after eating it. The selection is extensive and I'm determined to try every sandwich. Also big UPS on dirty brand chips, stewart sodas, and cupcakes. Keep up the good work!

Honestly their simplicity of the sandwiches make it that much authentic. The secret is that very same concept. It's made simple and fresh! I'm loving every sandwich so far. I promise it won't disappoint and save those extra dollars for that sweet tooth. Those Cupcakes are amazing. Don't get me started on the brownies. If you heard of it and haven't tried then what the hell are you waiting for honestly. Bring your family too might as well!

Simple sandwiches that are simply amazing. I love the turkey, avocado and bacon sandwich with Italian dressing instead of mayo/mustard. The bread is so soft and tasty! The staff is always friendly. I love coming here on my lunch break.

Been going to this place for some time now. The TBAC is the best (stands for turkey bacon avocado and cheese). Very friendly service and the owner is especially nice. Highly recommended!!

Without a doubt I can say that Subs N Grub is one of my favorite sandwich places. I've been going there even before the current owners, when it was off of Lincoln Ave. The current owner is so friendly, as is her daughter and employees. The sandwiches are delicious. My go-to is the Turkey Bacon Avocado Cheese with everything on it, you can't go wrong with that. I've tried a few others and they are just as good. I think it is the bread that really makes the sandwich. It is light and fluffy and soaks in all the delicious goodness from the sandwich. The sandwiches are prices fairly and are good sized. I normally get a large and eat half right away and half later. Their sides are very good too. I normally get the macaroni salad. It's great, with not too much mayonnaise. They have a large selection of specialty sodas and chips as well. Make sure to call ahead and order your sub to avoid the lunch rush as all these subs are handmade to order. My only complaint is that they are not open longer and every day :( But I guess they need days off too haha!

Best sandwich shop in O.C. hands down ! I am in love with the roast beef and pastrami! Both are fresh as you can get and really tasty. I eat a lot and so the first time I stopped by, when I looked at the sandwich I thought : " No way I'm getting full with this." But I did; and have ever since. The squaw bread , is a MUST! The cashiers are always nice and friendly and the owner is usually there as well and tries to engage in small talk with the patrons.

So today for lunch, was decided to try a new place, so we tried Subs n Grubs. It was really good! I had the Beef Dip, he had the It as Italian sub, both were really good, we also shared a Potato Salad homemade! That alone is worth another visit! Already trying to decide what to have next week.....Lol. well besides the potato salad that IS.

My co-worker and I ordered sandwiches from this place. The order was wrong, so I had to talk to 2 ppl plus the manager. The manager was very rude when I told her about the order. She continued to over talk me. So I went over to get the order fixed and this is how she threw my sandwich together and she continued to mumble under her breath in front of customers. This was my first and definately my last time going here. She didnt even give me the correct amount of change back. Customer service sucks!!!!

Found this place through a coupon book and stopped by today for lunch. When I walked in, I thought I walked into the wrong shop. Cupcakes were everywhere and I started to turn around, then saw a sign with their name and figured this was the place. A gal told us they didn't take the coupon we had, so we almost left a second time. The gal was very frazzled and kept confusing us with the coupon before we could order. We figured we would stay and ordered. The gal taking our order, the same one from before, kept interrupting us and we were getting frustrated and just wanted to leave. While we waited for our food, we sat down and got a good look at the place. It was very bright and loud, very disorganized and didn't seem to have a cohesive theme. This is a sandwich shop called Subs n Grub, I figured it was a normal sandwich shop, but when we walked in, it had brightly painted with blue and pink walls and we were greeted with cupcakes and soda bottles on the ground near the cash register. In the sitting area, there were odd posters and pictures everywhere that did not match or go with anything and I did not have a great feeling about this place. After talking it over with a manager, the gal gave us the discount we walked in with, which was nice, but the whole situation could have been handled a lot better. The decor and atmosphere was overwhelmingly scattered and was not welcoming. I ordered a turkey bacon avocado cheese which was ok, I have had better. I did like that they offered 8 and 12 inch sandwiches, a better alternative to the common 6 or 12 inch options. All in all, it was a little rough experience, my food was plain and ok, and I will most likely not return. To Subs N Grub: Try for a solid concept, your shop was overwhelming and the staff let your customers become confused and a little irritated.

The subs are the perfect size, not too small not too big. The deli meat is always fresh and they're very fast. The Italian dressing was recommended since I didn't want mayo on my sandwich, but it was just ok. The meatball was delicious even though I didn't get cheese on it.

This review is only for the hot pastrami sandwich. I do like the other sandwiches they offer, by the way. On my "Quest for the Ultimate OC Pastrami Sand" I went here after reading Correen B.'s review. I am a pastrami junkie but I do not eat them all the time, I like to make it a special meal, maybe only once a month or less. My curiosity was up because Correen had mentioned that her hubby thought Subs N Grub pastrami was "peppery." Now, for me, that is a good thing. I know how pastrami is made and it should be peppery. I ordered the 8 inch sandwich and was asked if I wanted pickles and mustard. Yes please, I want it pretty much "traditional" style today. Side note: I find it odd that you order in one place at SNG but have to go someplace else to pay. Why not have the register where you place your order? Now, when my pastrami comes to the table (pretty short wait, not busy) it looks good. I'm all set for peppery goodness when the first thing I notice is that the meat is a bit chewy....and a little fatty, but not too much so. The chewyness does start to be distracting with every bite and it wasn't so peppery, pretty mild. The pickles were a mushy, dill slices and the mustard some run-of the-mill yellow stuff...Meh... So this is not a "go-to" place for pastrami for me. Turkey, avocado bacon with the works, yes. 'Strami....nope.

Ive been coming here for years. Great sandwiches...my fave is the Italian cold cut on squaw bread. I've also tried the various turkey combos...all are delish...place is always super clean.

I just tried this place for the first time and I am so impressed by it that I am writing this review before I even finish my food. I decided to try Subs n Grub because I am SO OVER Subway. If I am going to get a sandwich, I want fresh bread and meats and veggies, and Subs n Grub delivers! I called ahead (thanks to the recommendation made by another reviewer) and ordered the Turkey, Bacon & Cheese on Squaw Bread with a side of potato salad. First up: The Potato Salad. It is DELICIOUS and I don't even like olives, and I still ate most of it. They put relish in it (why didn't I ever think of that?) and it is so incredibly tasty. YUMMY! Next up: The sandwich. My good God in heaven above, this is the most amazing sandwich I have ever had!(And I come from NY where there is a delicious Deli on every corner). The meat is fresh and not the pre-packaged, pre-sliced junk you get at Subway. The bacon is crisp and not greasy at all. Oh and the sandwich is ENORMOUS! Seriously, it's so big! And it was only $6.75!The squaw bread is absolutely delicous too. I don't know if they make it there, but it certainly tastes as if it is homemade. I also got a Stewart's Cherries 'n Cream Soda (so happy they sell it there) and of course - amazing! The Mom and Daughter that work there are as sweet as can be. I suggest calling ahead as the Daughter said it makes thing much easier. I was in and out in less than two minutes because I had called ahead. So nice because I only have 30 mins for lunch. I cannot recommend this place to you guys enough! I'm planning on going back again this week!
