Awesome! Reminds me of my time in NYC.

212 is perfectly located between 2 of my primary work locations, but I'd keep coming even if it wasn't. They've got monster cheese pizza waiting at lunchtime, and they simply add toppings to order, then pop in oven for a few minutes, for a very speedy yet delicious lunch. The garlic knot they throw in for free! I can get a large slice and soda for around $8. Cozy interior, nice staff - I'll keep coming back!

First, the basics: the pizza is great. We only had pizza, but I look forward to trying stomboli, calzones, and garlic knots in the future. Now, the problems: Ordered a large 18" pepperoni with pineapple on half; the pizza we got only had pepperoni on half. They were great about it - rather than halfway fixing it, they gave us that whole pizza and gave us an additional 12" with pepperoni and pineapple for free. Then there was another mistake; a large pizza came out with sauce, while the customer had requested no sauce. They promptly apologized for the mistake, made a correct one, and gave us the one with sauce since we were the last customers for the night. The food is better than the average pizza joint and better than any chain. Mistakes happen anywhere, but how the business deals with the mistakes is the differentiator. This experience could have easily gone down as a one star review, but they were amazing! Their attitudes were incredible and they were so courteous and quick to admit and correct mistakes. Between the quality of the food, the prices, and the attitude, I have found a new favorite pizza place.

Just picked up a "pizza" which looked liked it had cheese on the bottom later, but apparently not. Asked for my money back or for another pizza with cheese on it, and the manager yelled at my wife, tells her to drive back in rush hour to bring the pizza back. Horrible customer service, it's really not that hard to make a pizza. Thought of trying a new place close to work, but I guess around Table is the only reliable place. If I was the owner I would fire everyone that messed up making that pizza all the way to management that had the audacity to tell at my wife.

I ordered a quick lunch from 212 "New York" pizza today, and regretted it as soon as I began eating. I'm from New York, newly relocated to CA, so I may have high expectations....but I can't see anyone enjoying this food. The garlic knots with sauce & cheese were barely edible. The cheese was cold and just plopped on the top. The pizza crust was okay (thin crust, as NY style pizza should be), but the sauce was just wrong - very sweet and there was a LOT of it on the mini pizza. I was really unfulfilled by my meal, and had to toss most of it. I told my husband (who's lived here about a year) where I'd ordered lunch from and his immediate reaction was, "WHAT?! WHY!?!" I wish I had known before I spent $15...

Pizza was good, Caesar salad decent and garlic bread nice. It all arrived pretty fast. However, there was no fork, or napkins. We were glad a friend helped us with that or we would have he to eat the salad with our hands!

I feel like Yelp let me down here. Dough was floppy and underbaked. Our large pie was sort of mutilated--it wasn't round and the toppings were pushed towards one side. The toppings were underwhelming too. When I make pizza at home this is about how it turns out.

Hit or miss. When it is good, not many better, but every once in awhile you get something crappy. Not sure why, its never like the same mistakes over and over kind of thing, its unique ways to ruin it. Maybe they have a lot of turnover? Anyway, when good, the ingredients are fresh and not used sparingly. Sauce it light enough and the crust is lightly crunchy and tasty like it should be. If you are looking for a loaf of bread under your toppings, look elsewhere, this is as the area code would indicate, NY style pizza. Closest chain pizza place it would resemble is Straw Hat or maybe Papa Johns. Resembles is all though, it is much better than those places, jut giving you a reference point for something to expect. Now when they have missed...charred the thing one time and put like 5 pepperonis on the entire pie the other time. Lame and should have been caught both times if anyone was even kind of paying attention. If it wasn't for the two misses would be a 4 star.

The pizza continues to "deliver", and is close to home. Just as a side note, this pizzeria puts oregano on their pies. If you don't like oregano on your pizza or you have kids, some of them might not care to eat the "green stuff" on their slices. I phoned in an order for 2 medium pizzas. I had a coupon for 2 med for $30 and called it in. When I gave them our phone #, it came up w/my husband's name so I just let it go rather than use my own and used his name for the order. The cashier was *REALLY* HaPpY, like SUPER-DUPER HAPPY to be there and he called me "Sir" twice because I was picking up in my husband's name. Arrghhh...

For the record I have not physically been here before. I called in for a pickup order and my husband went to pick it up. We ordered: - large half Margherita and half pepperoni pizza -garlic knots with cheese and sauce -2 cannolis The Margherita portion was tasty. We found the pepperoni to be very salty and had a very powerful flavor. I was not expecting the garlic knots to have the cheese and sauce baked on top. It was basically like eating a very thick crusted pizza. I did not look through the posted pics to see that is what I would get. My hubby presumed it would be like that though. Oh well. The cannoli tasted fresh with a nice crust. If you saw the tip I posted regarding the Fivestars reward card, only reason I thought this place had it was because my Fivestars app said they did. When my hubby presented the card however they had no idea what it was. The manager asked briefly about it wondering if a lot of people use it. After the inquiry he gave us a complimentary 2 liter of Coke.

Good pizza place, fresh, fast, and friendly. They delivered a tasty half Soprano and half Badda Bing with sides. The JFK Strawberry salad is a nice tart contrast to the savory pizza, I was taking joyous bites back and forth between pizza and salad. The pizza itself is not too oily, and is not saggy or soggy. Another plus for me is that there are no excessive burned bits on the crust. I will surely order again next time I feel like New York style pizza. I like this place more than Amicis.

Tasty pizza, freindly and clean place . Always gives us something extra for the kids...we love coming here.

Marco the owner is super friendly and down to earth. He definitely knows his Italian foods and even gave me some pointers on how to make killer carbonara. Too many places add too many ingredients into their food and make it overpowering. Some people on yelp are used to the overabundance of flavors mixed together and as a result don't really have refined taste buds. Anyways, I saw my pizza being made with the dough being flipped around and stretched out, and it was entertaining and quite interesting to see my food bring made in front of me! We ordered the pepperoni and the meat lovers but we actually got something different instead of the meat lovers. I ended up not saying saying anything because whatever we got ended up being that delicious anyways! What with the thin crust and full flavors. Two people ended up finishing a medium pizza because it was that good. Oh, and while we waited for our pizza we ordered the garlic knots which was tasty with the marinara! A great idea as an appetizer if you ask me. We ended up having a great conversation with Marco and he was so nice to give us tiramisu to try at home since we were first timers. Anyways, I tried the tiramisu at home and it was absolutely delicious! Not too sweet just how I like my desserts and Marco even let me know just what ingredients were in it and how other restaurants put too much stuff in their tiramisu. I would order it next time as dessert. Will definitely return here and looking forward to having good food and conversation with Marco again. I'm even inclined to go with the Christmas special thats only $30 for any large pizza, garlic knots, soda, and other items! Recommend: - Garlic Knots - Pepperoni Pizza - Tiramisu

A thin crust pizza with very fresh toppings! we got the large one today (18", 19 dollars) with chicken and mushrooms (each topping is 2 dollars). the pizza was perfect. they used to have some promotions and coupons and no longer have anything. I wish they did, because they are on the pricey side. that's why I take one star off.

Good, affordable and quickly delivered pizza that's both tasty, filling but not overly greasy. Delicious and digests well, and the service was prompt. Overall, an excellent performance!

Decent NY pizza near my optometrist. Guy serving is cool and courteous. Pizza is good. 'Nuff said.

  • Dave C.

It wasn't horrible, but it had no real flavor. Not the dough, not the sauce, not the sausage. And too much sauce and cheese, for a thin-crust pizza. So it really couldn't be eaten by hand.

Came to the area by mistake but stopped here for a quick lunch since the family was hungry. Pizza was decent. Did not try the garlic knots but they did look good on the plate of the person sitting next to us. Customer service was friendly and accommodating. Food was served quick and hot.

They always have very little selection by the slice. And they are very slow. This is second time I've been here...was trying to give them second chance. The empty eatery at 12pm was a sign I should have paid attention to.

This place is a solid 5 stars on price and service but a 4.5 star overall because the food is really 3.5-4 stars. Garlic knots were good, pizza was good, pear salad was good. Shoot, it was all good (and they had a great ice cream selection - It's It, BnJ's, etc. - booyah!). Maaaaaybe the sweet potato fries were so-so (partly b/c they got put into styrofoam while hot which made 'em soggy). But, really, the food wasn't knock-yer-socks-off amazing. I happened to have had Bibo's for lunch and, slice for slice, Bibo's is just way better pizza. BUT. I was overwhelmed with how nice the cashier was (didn't catch his name). He was speedy and efficient and didn't stop smiling even when it was ridiculously crowded and most employees would start to show signs of annoyance. I was absolutely blown away. We hit the place up with a complicated order for a family of 5, incl. salad, pizza slices, and fries - pretty much anything that required prep we ordered (not intentionally, mind you, just have specific eaters). Server/cashier was super friendly through the whole thing and you just couldn't be in a bad mood even if you had to wait a while for your food (we came during the Friday evening rush - the line to order was almost to the door). Seriously sounds cheesy but I just can't reiterate how nice this guy was. Another win for 212 - the price. Super affordable for a lunch/dinner option, even with a number of kids. Could feed the whole fam for $15ish. Will definitely be back - probably when less busy - to grab some slices/knots to go and hit Ortega park (just a couple blocks away).

Yum! This place is a definite hole-in-the-wall inside a plaza thats rarely... and I mean... RARELY full! It was a win-win for my bf and I since we wanted pizza and a little getaway from all the cars running through cupertino and sunnyvale. The staff are really nice and can carry such a wonderful conversation. Just to name a few... Cyrus, is wonderful! He really knows how to tend and talk to customers. Marco... which I believe is the owner and manager there has charisma. Down to the food part. Pizza was good, not a "wow" factor... but good! Not much of a fan for thin pizza but hey it had flavor. Oh and their garlic knots are a must try!!! I honestly think it's better than their pizza. And... to top it all off, they now serve beer! Woot woot! I just wish this place was bigger... with more tvs... just like Jakes in Sunnyvale. Once they get that going, it's gonna be a TOUGH competition out there in the pizza world lololol. :)

I love the thin, NY style pizza here! It can be a little pricey but that's what you get when you are buying quality. I love their combo and the chicken pesto. The fresh ingredients make this pizza stand out. I also like that they sell it by the slice, and it come with a garlic knot too!! Probably the best in Cupertino.

  • Pearl P.

Overall, good pizza (half special/half tomato). The crust wasn't quite NY textured balance of chewy/crispy (felt a bit too heavy) but still, it hit the NY pizza craving.

We are East Coast transplants. It is hard to find good pizza that tastes like home. Their's hits the nail on the head. We are addicted. Yummy! So we order using Eat24 and have had no issues with delivery. It is always within time frame suggested often times quicker. Typically we order between 4pm and 6pm.

The pizza is pretty good, owner is cool. I called around 845pm on Sunday and nobody picked up. Called twice and no picked up. Website says closes at 9pm. I get it it's late on Sunday why take one more order, but If I was the owner is be pissed. I even drive by and saw two employees standing at the reg at 852pm. Obviously they don't want to make one more pizza hence the 1 star. Hey mr owner this was Sunday 6/8 check your employees..

I love pizza and I am from NY so feel I can judge. The first time we came here the pizza was great. We ordered last night and it was so bad we threw away the leftovers. That never happens in our home! I think they must have changed hands, Indian pizza was not on the menu when we ordered a year or so ago. Anyway, to me pizza is all about the crust and sauce, we experienced bad crust and sauce. Tasted like they just smeared tomato paste on it. The pesto pizza tasted nothing like pesto. Will not order again. If you know your pizza and are picky don't bother.

First thing I have to say is that the owner and staff here is AWESOME! I cam here for one of my Friday night adventures a while ago and felt like having pizza that night. I used yelp to find the best rated thing closest to me that was not a big chain. I was not disappointed with what I discovered. The Food: The food was freaking great. I was use to having the pizza from big chain companies here but had never had a New York style pizza. I love their food since it all of the stuff tasted as if they had made it that same day, it was fresh. We ordered a half pepperoni sausage and a Broadway pizza. The sausage was not your normal frozen sausage at your big pizza chains. Because we were first timers there we got two free drinks. We also ordered 6 of their famous garlic knots with some sauce (they were awesome). They gave us a free sample of their cannoli which was very rich but definitely a good ending to a nice meal. The Staff: I can even begin to describe how cool the people here are. As soon as I got there the owner started giving me crap since I was wearing a Boston shirt and there was a Red Socks/ Yankee game on. I don't follow baseball too much so I didn't really care. The owner treated us like we were long time friends even though we had just met. The staff joked around with each other and cracked jokes and weren't too serious when customers were in store, this made it feel friendly. The Place: The place is kind of small and seats around 30 people. There weren't too many people there, just about two families when we arrived. You can see directly into the assembly table and can see Marco hand tossing the pizza. I recommend this to all my YELP friends. Come and have some good eats

Holy smokes these guys make the bomb pizza! Were talking better than Pizza My Heart and they make a really GOOD pizza. Service - Superb, the owner makes it a point to interact and make sure your happy with your meal. Price - its a little pricy ($26 for a lare 18"combo), but after eating the pizza, you'll agree that it was worth it. Quality - the food is tasty (heavy cheese and oily) with light sauce, the makings of a good pizza. Plus the sauce isn't that nasty canned tomato paste with oregano (which most pizza shops use). Overall, I really like this place and definitely coming back!

Thinking of delivery from this place? Don't waste your time with this restaurant. I placed a prepaid (via Eat24) delivery order at 8:40PM on Sunday and 2 hours later the order still hasn't arrived. I received no calls from the restaurant and the restaurant is closed (no live person is answering). If you value your time, choose a more reliable pizza delivery service. Seriously, in this day and age when a restaurant can't deliver a prepaid order of food, there's no reason to even bother with it.

Horrible customer service and overpriced pizza. Go to Amici's instead. Cheaper pizza and blows this pizza joint out of the water! I will never be returning to this establishment.

Do not waste your time, I came to this place at 6pm on a Saturday night and wanted a slice of pepperoni, they only had one slice and it looked like it had been made this morning, when I asked if they were going to make some fresh pepperoni they told me "probably not for a while" WTF?!?!?! Needless to say I won't be back.

This place has the best NY pizza in the area by far! It is so good! It is so thin but the flavor is amazing! I love coming here, pizzas are great, garlic knots are great, I highly recommend this place if you like thin NY style pizza. The service is always great as well, really nice guys running the place.

I don't know why thisplease has so many stars. I just like to have pizzanothing too fancy and I didn't get that here. The dough didn't seem fresh - vegetables were soggy and I can easily say it was not a great pizza

  • Sau y.

I'd say it was a solid 3.5. I tried this place because our usual place was closed. I only order pizza when I'm lazy and feeling like something filling. We came by and ordered a medium to go: half margherita and half chicken pesto tomato. The upside: close by, not too expensive and thin crust. Quick: we ordered and the pizza was ready to go in 15 minutes! The downside: not as crispy as I'd like, chicken was not plentiful, cheese was not of the high quality sort.. I'd go back and grab some pizza if we were in a pinch!

I purchased an Amazon Local deal for this place and we finally found some time to eat here with a friend the other night. I had a very high expectation for this place because of all the amazing Yelp reviews, but I'm not convinced that this place is any better or more special than your average pizza joint. I'm not even sure if this place serves true New York-style pizza...?? We got sweet potato fries (yes, I totally gave in!) and they were very delicious. The garlic knots were also good. We got half Don Corleone & half Meat Lover...I thought I was eating a vegetarian pizza until my fiance said there was chicken in the Don Corleone...?! Not sure what happened there...the meat lover side was very salty but at least I know I'm eating meat... I would still recommend A Slice of New York if you want authentic NY-style pizza in the South Bay - and if you are ever in San Diego, then you MUST try Bronx Pizza!

The best pizza in the Bay Area great service, fast delivery and the orders are always correct can't stop myself from coming back for more pizza and epically the garlic knotts. We love 212 pizza!

Pizza is just salty doesnt have much flavor to it, and its pricy for the quality of food thats delivered. Prolly worst than any of those franchise pozza places

too busy stuffing my face with this delicious pizza right now. will write a longer review later. garlic fries = BOMB ..AND they sent a little container of ketchup. who actually takes the time out to do that these days? I LOVE IT! pizza = BOMB. slices are huge and delicious. to be honesty, when i was looking through the pictures the pizza didn't look too appetizing but thank god we decided to order from this place! and oh, the delivery guy can actually follow directions..unlike every other pizza delivery i've encountered.

This place used to be really good, but they are new ownership, and they now have no idea what they are doing. Showed up for a pick up, and the Asian guy was literally playing with the cheese on my pizza, and tried to pretend he wasn't, it was very awkward. I don't go here anymore.

Big pizza fan! Love trying new pizza places. Originally heard of this spot through YELP in the hunt for a good New York style pizza. I found this place and didn't look back. Big crust fan so if your in the pizza business for crust you'll feel right at home at this spot. I enjoy coming here for the fresh ingredients and for that delicious crust and marinara. Customer service here is great. Owner is usually working and makes sure to take of his customers. this place definitely lived up to its hype. Plus they have a loyalty rewards program!!

Garlic knots were great, pizza was wonderful and service was exceptional. I am not sure why other reviewers are so harsh in their reviews....picking over small things. I will go there again and recommend them highly!

I went to pickup pizza that I ordered. I was watching the whole time how they handle the food etc. They were friendly and in fact they offered me free drink of soda which I said no. All employees were careful except one guy(young person). He was touching everything, including his face/head. He was in his outside dress, no apron. May be he was getting ready to go home. Touching his dress as well. He was packing garlic knots and while packing he touched the food with bare hands that he is yet to wash. He did not use the tongs which is next to food. The guy who was making the pizza is very good. I watched him handling the food. But this helper guy needs to learn to be hygienic. Though the pizza was good, lot of veggies but I'll not go there due to the way this guy was handling the food.

Horrible service forced me and my boyfriend to leave bc they were closing in a few minutes and also there were people eating a family next to us and they didn't say anything to them and I just thought that was rude as F^ck I get that you want get out and leave and all but that's just rude since we both know how it is I know it's privately owned so they can technically do this and get away with it which is what makes me sick to my stomach I can't believe it we were just trying to have a good little date night and we decide to try something new and that's what happens? Think twice before you decide to try this place or maybe make sure you don't go in a few hours before they close bc they workers are LAZY! Lazy and rude....horrible service we will never be back and I would rather go to pizza my heart whoever the owner is check your employees .....

  • Kathy Y.

Friendly customer service is always a plus! Came in last night looking for some good pizza and garlic knots. We were not disappointed. The two of us shared a medium sized half meat lovers (WOWWW the bacon-- nom nom!!!) and half of the madonna. As one of the workers said, "EVERYONE LOVES MADONNA!" Waited about 15 minutes and we were out the door headed home to wine, pizza, garlic knots and a movie. We popped the garlic knots into the oven for a few minutes...and nom nom. Delicious warm and crispy garlic knots. Everyone loves pizza! But not every pizza place has garlic knots. 212 did not disappoint. We'll be back for more! 212 also has a frequent buyer card, so why wouldn't you want free pizza?

  • Maureen C.

Yay thin crusts! As a previous NYC dweller, I fell in love with thin crusts and now find normal Pizza Hut-esque crusts hard to eat. Obviously not the same as ACTUAL New York pizza, but this is a great replacement on the West Coast. I find it a little bit better than Pizza My Heart, but it may be because the people behind the counter are always so nice to me. I came in with my double stroller once and they helped me bring the huge order of two pizzas, garlic knots, and two sodas to my car.

  • Alan n' Arniesa N.

The Yelp coupon is what brought me here so I feel obligated to drop a review. This is an average pizza place that serves thin NY style crust. We ordered a medium combination pizza and an order of garlic knots, for take out. The knots were plain, no marinara sauce or maybe they just forgot. Again, pizza was just average and I thought it was a bit on the salty side. Highly doubtful that I will be returning here. I would normally give an average place 3 stars, but when I came to pick up my food I specifically asked if they included marinara with my knots. The guy confirmed yes but sadly when I got home I found out that I had nothing to dip my dry out garlic knots in.

I've been wanting to try this place out, being the pizza fanatic I am. My brother had told me it wasn't as good as my favorite place, ASONY, but as I was in the area running errands and I can eat pizza any day any time, especially thin crust, I popped on by. In a way, I felt like I was betraying ASONY, but my curiousity got the best of me, especially since this place is closer to home. Walked in on a Sunday close to 2 PM. No one was there, but there were 4 different pizzas waiting for me. I went with the Margherita, even though I'm not a huge fan where it's just thick tomato slices on top. He also gave me a free garlic knot which I thought was nice. There was a TV playing the World Cup, so decided to watch while I waited. Tables and counter were clean, the utensils and napkins are on top of the trash can. I noticed every table had salt, pepper, garlic powder, crushed red pepper, and oregano, but no parmesean cheese? thats a staple at any pizza joint, no? I also wished they had some hot sauce, as I love dipping my pizza in any type of hot sauce, but there was none. my pizza came to me on a silver plate, which is smart since they re-heat it on that dish too. first bite, wasn't so impressed. the garlic knot, a bit dry and dense, and just had garlic powder on top. not real garlic like ASONY. the pizza was just okay, i really was hoping for more, and the crust, i didn't enjoy my first bite and threw that away. usually ill eat the entire slice of pizza. the workers were friendly though, and appreciated the free garlic knot even though it wasn't memorable. i think maybe im just too spoiled from ASONY, but this place is just a-ok in my book.

This might be my favorite pizza place in the South Bay. The garlic knots are perfect. I also love The Sopranos (chicken, garlic, mushrooms, white sauce).

The pizza here is really good and the staff is friendly. Every time I get delivery the driver is always really pleasant to deal with. They are constantly offering deals as well so that makes me want to come back. The actual store is decent. The pizzas are a little on the greasy side for some reason.

4.5 STARS Marco, the owner makes this place what it is. He is generous, outgoing, funny, very hospitable, and was a New Yorker for a significant part of his life (New York City - The Bronx). You walk in and get that New York inviting/in your face attitude with a Californian toned down pleasantness! Without Marco you have a classy clean Pizza place that tops most Pizza places in the entire Bay area with a very nice worker behind the counter. His prices are excellent & his variety is wide. It is worth it for everyone in the area to stop by and see for yourself what I'm talking about! Call 1st and ask for Marco to make sure he's there. By the way, TWO ONE TWO, is the original area code for New York City, hence the name 212, not two twelve. Thanks Marco for the reminiscing of the past as well as the GREAT experience today for lunch!! P.S. They even accept all major credit cards (not like so many diners, small restaurants, & breakfast places that are cash only and force you to spend more with their convenient portable ATM machines!!

I ordered a customized gormet pizza and paid total of $30. It didnt come to me with any pepper, salt, or krtchups ( was asked for). The pizza didnt contain all the ingredients and the base looked pretty stale. Not worth it.

Unfortunately, I have to take away two stars after eating many more times here. This update pertains mainly to ordering an entire, fresh pizza (as opposed to having them heat up a slice). The freshly made pizzas can be quite oily. I always feel completely apathetic after eating their fresh pizzas. The dough is not well cooked, and flops over when you pick it up. When you bite into it, you just get the sensation of soft, melted cheese and oil. There's no crispy crust to provide the texture. These complaints don't apply when ordering a slice that needs to be reheated. I guess there's something about a slice sitting out that hardens the crust, giving it that nice crispiness when you bite into it. The staff is still always friendly, and the restaurant is kept clean. I'll still keep coming to this place, but probably never with a group anymore.

With its floppy crust, one has to wonder where the recipe for 212's "New York" pizza came from. Maybe some place in upstate New York, like Buffalo? It sure as hell couldn't have been NYC. With my first slice, the toppings and cheese proceeded to slide off the limp crust and onto my plate. I come from the school of NY-style pizza where the crust should be crisp and firm, so you can fold and hold a slice without it falling all over you. The place looks to be very popular and the staff was nice. Just not my idea of what NY-style thin crust pizza should be.

I have no idea why this place has average of 4 stars. I used Groupon coupon to get a pizza. I ordered a pizza with garlic and Italian sausage. They totally messed up the order - no sausage and garlic powder instead of garlic cloves. GARLIC POWDER!!! When I pointed out the mistake, they just cooked sausages separately and handed them to me in a separate container. While I was waiting for the sausage, another guy came in because of messed up order. Did ownership change? Is it the Groupon rush? They weren't busy at all, though. Their attitude and quality of pizza certainly do not deserve 4 stars. Very disappointed, and I will not return there.

Me and the Canadian were running errands when we stumbled across this place after looking up "New York Style Pizza" on Yelp. It's in the mini-shopping are on the corner of Blaney and Homestead ("There's a shopping mall there?" you say? Yeah, there is actually! It's not just for turning left/right on Blaney and crossing over the 280!) We walked in and were greated with a friendly hello. The place had about 3 other guys hanging out, waiting for their to-go orders watching soccer on the big flat TV. The Canadian ordered his half with his always-go-to ingredients: Pepperoni, bacon, black olives and jalapanos. Me, still finding out what kinda pizza I liked, ordered the other half a margherita. They have colorful garlic knots, which he explained very nicely, were made with oregano and tomato. The garlic knots were good, although a bit dry and didn't come with sauce. It would be nice to have them a bit more garlicky. Maybe I just like my garlic knots drizzled with garlic and/or covered in olive oil with garlic bits. Although tastey, these weren't them. Just kinda like colorful bread knots with a delightful garlic hint. He knew were were new to the joint so he gave us drinks. When we attempted to pay for them, he responded with a "FURGHETABOUHTEHT! You're new!" We were tickled. My cousins, raised in Jamaica Queens, say it all the time.. but for some reason (Could it be because they're Filipino?!?!).. just don't have that same native twang like he did. lol The pizza was great. The crust was a bit thicker then the normal New York Style thin crust pizza, but we liked it. Not to thick, but just enough to give the thin crust a bit of HUMPH with just the perfect amount of crispiness. I liked my side, the cheese is very tastey and the red sauce is really good. The Canadian liked his a lot 'cuz he said the toppings aren't small and scrimpish. I think we just found our new pizza spot.

I'm glad I cashed in on the Groupon offer for $15 for $30 worth of whatever you want. This gave me a chance to try a few of 212's offerings including a combo pizza, a Don Corleone, some garlic knots, and even a calzone. I found the pizza very good; I thought I was finished with a couple slices but kept coming back for more. In particular, the Don Corleone was excellent. The proportion and quality of ingredients really stood out for me. There was just enough pesto and garlic, and the addition of artichoke hearts won me over. The combo pizza was good too (I'm not a fan of salami, but I still enjoyed it). The garlic knots were very good; I just wish there was some dipping sauce included. That said, I used some of the left over homemade marinara from the calzone I ordered. The calzone was enormous -- so big it would stuff two stomachs. The ricotta inside was more than abundant and tempting even for someone like me who doesn't like cheese! My main complaint was that my order took longer than expected. I placed it over the phone, and instead of taking 20 minutes, it took 10 or 15 minutes longer. The pizza and calzone did not come out at the same time, so I didn't get everything piping hot out of the oven. But I'd definitely come back again with a Groupon offer.

The owner invited me back, asking for a chance to make my previous issues right, my order on the house. I ordered the same thing as I did the first time (pie with extra cheese, mozzarella sticks, and garlic knots). I'm happy to report, this visit was really good! The pizza crust was nice and thin, the sticks crunchy, and the knots yummy and garlicky. A yummy meal all around!

I came here for dinner with a group of friends. Customers have to order and pay at the counter. I like how they sell the pizza by the slice. The pizza slices are really huge! I decided to get 1 slice of pan bbq chicken, and it was good. The crust was crispy and a bit burnt on the bottom.. I also got a slice of Margherita pizza, and it was really tasty! The crust was thin and not greasy on the bottom. You can really taste the fresh tomatoes and basil. I loved how we were given a free garlic knot with each slice. The garlic knots were good, too. Overall, 212 New York Pizza is a great place to grab a slice of pizza. There are a few tables inside, but i notice most people ordered the pizza to go.

I am always on the lookout for good NY pizza. So when I got a Groupon, I was pretty cite. I got a large pizza with 5 toppings- pepperoni, sausage, artichoke, pepper, and salami. The crust was not good, undercook and doughy, very bread like, not at all NY thin crust. The toppings were so-so, and not a lot of them. The sauce had a weird aftertaste to it. Overall it was very disappointing. The tiramisu was pretty good, hence 2 stars.

It's official I still really love them! I came back a second time and I love that their pizza is very consistent. The owner is super friendly! He gave both my boyfriend and I free drinks. (We just asked for one) Plus when our pizza came, it also came with a free garlic knot. Everything about their pizza is awesome, especially their soft/warm garlicky knots! :]

Walked into 212 New York Pizza, said 'what's up' to the mini Statue of Liberty on my right and ordered 3 slices of pizza. Each pizza came with 3 garlic knots. The sauce and crust are amazing! Very herby and garlicky and has a distinct flavor. Ordered meat lovers and none of the meat was greasy but instead were cooked perfectly with a slight crisp on the edges of the pepperoni and Canadian bacon. Garlic knots were right on point. Chewy, light, and not greasy. PERFECTLY MADE. Great service and great food. Right on the same level as Slice of New York on Steven's Creek.

We ordered delivery using GrubHub. Delivery was estimated at about 50 minutes, it took an hour and a half to get it. Pizza was cold, garlic knots were nothing but soggy, bland, cold bread, the 20oz drink was lukewarm as well. The best redemption was the Caesar salad my girlfriend had, but it was at best average, whereas the other food was just plain bad. Not only was the food really slowly delivered, the delivery guy was incompetent. He called asking for directions from the leasing office to our apartment (which, admittedly, is a tricky layout) - and she had to explain to him multiple times how to go from there to the apartment. No joke, she repeated the directions seven-eight times and it took ten minutes for him to drive from the leasing office to the apartment - a distance that can be walked in three.

Incredible. That's the word that I use to describe all facets of this pizza place. I remember when this place used to be called "Pizza Presto" back in the day. That place had the strangest of pizzas. I mean they were oval-shaped and the sauce had way too much acidity. I've passed by this place many times, yet I never bothered to stop by even though I noticed the new name. I finally decided to give it a go when I had a pizza craving one night. I came kinda late. It was probably about 30 minutes before closing time. I was greeted by the owner, Marco, who would probably win an award for "most chill guy in the world". Fer reals. As I ordered (I ordered two slices of pizza - one hawaiian, one pepperoni), he and I had a conversation that went like this: Marco: "So you first time customer, Michael?" Me: "Yessir. I've passed by this place a lot and read some good ratings on Yelp, so I figured I'd drop by. I remember when this place use to be Pizza Presto. They went out of business, right?" Marco: "Yeah, they were doing pretty bad. I heard from a friend they were gonna sell their place, so I went ahead and bought it from them and opened up '212' about a year and a half ago. Business has been doing pretty well so far." Michael: "Well, that's great to hear. I'm glad." *guy at the counter hands me my pizza after warming it up quickly in the oven* Marco: "Since you're a new customer, go ahead and grab a soda from the fridge right there. It's on me." Michael: "Really!? Thanks, man! That's awesome! Hey, I gotta get going but I'm glad I came in here and I'll definitely be back!" Marco: "Have a good night, man!" Suffice it to say the pizza was great. I ate it and washed it down with the free soda while sitting back and watching 'Marnie', a classic Alfred Hitchcock movie. Would definitely recommend to people in the Bay Area. Although I don't think Marco would normally give out free sodas to new customers, I think he just let me have one since it was late and they were getting ready to close. Whatevs, I'll be back again fosho. 5 stars all the way

id give it 2.5, but im going with 2. The best part about this place was the name. I used a living social. The guy was friendly and threw in free garlic knots, which were half-decent. The pizza (marguerita) was disappointing. I'd honestly prefer dominoes or papa johns. The basil was more basil-flake size and sparse, and the mozz pieces were tiny. It didn't taste like marguerita pizza at all. Calling it New York Pizza is a blatant lie.

I have found my new pizza haven. Ordered the Don Corleone (chicken, pesto, artichoke) and even though I don't really like red sauce, it worked on this baby! And thin crust is ALWAYS a plus. I gotta rave about them garlic knots.... SO. FREAKING. DELISH. If I was a carb, I would marry these garlic knots. But sadly, society isn't ready for our love (ANT Farm reference, no shame). They're garlicky (best word in the English dictionary) and buttery (second best word) and oh so soft. An order consists of six knots, all of which the bf and I devoured within the three minutes it took to drive home from this place. Shoulda got two orders... oh well, we def learned our lesson.

The Garlic Knots are a MUST NOT.... Do not get them. They are dry horrible pieces of burnt pizza dough. Firstly, I read the reviews on the garlic knots and still thought to try them. BAD IDEA. I asked for extra garlic, They didn't add any, in fact all they did was burn them. like black burnt. Then I order half meat lovers and half margherita, The margherita half was tasty, the meat lovers was extremely plain. I read people talk about the dough and that's one of things i look for in my pizza too, however, this was horrible too. It was cheap dough, cheap sauce, cheap cheese, and cheap toppings. Makes you think the pizza is going to be cheap too, right? NOT!! Stupidly, I paid $30.00 for a medium pizza and 6 garlic knots and nothing was good. I will not be coming back to this place ever again sorry to say, and I hope this review saves anyone from wasting their money here like I did.

The highlight of my day: Trying a slice of chicken pesto pizza and a garlic knot at 212 New York Pizza. It definitely hit the spot, perfectly thin, crispy, chewy crust adorned with incredibly moist chicken and succulent fresh mozzarella! You can really taste the fresh ingredients. Something you can not get from a $5 pizza. This is probably the first pesto pizza I've had that was not super greasy. The garlic knot was packed with flavor and extremely soft and moist. It has the right amount of olive oil and garlic, it's not drowning in oil and not insanely garlicky as it's competitors. I am a big pizza aficionado and I have to say that I prefer 212 over Bibo's, Cicero's, Pizza My Heart, and Slice of New York. The staff here are super friendly and down to earth. The restaurant is extremely tidy and a great place to bring the gang or familia. I definitely want to come back and try their other signature pies and desserts. You can't miss the sign for 212 in the parking lot next to Subway, in front of Gochi.

Decided to give 212 New York Pizza a second chance and they did not disappoint! This time I skipped the garlic knots and ordered a large Ma-donna pizza take-away. LOVED it. @ 212 New York- I am officially a fan :)

The pizza is still great. Fresh garlic on a pie is better than any place I've ever found. The garlic knots aren't that good any more, though. Can't recommend them. Less garlic than before, and too often overcooked.

My husband orderer a Soprano pizza there specifically saying he is allergic to oregano. They said there would be no oregano on the pizza. He picked up the pizza and they told him "Oh yeah, no oregano guy". Once at home we open the box and the pizza is heavily covered with oregano ... Anyway the pizza was not really good, the chicken was tough and it was really greasy.

I LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVED This pizza place!!!! Oh my goodness it was amazing!!! We got it delivered it is the best pizza place in the bay area!! THE BEST!!!! I haven't had pizza like this since the place family owned in the Walgreens plaza on Mary Ave and Fremont Ave. I didn't think I'd ever taste pizza like that again- round table doesn't compare. This is the most amazing pizza ever!!! My reason for giving them 4 instead of 5 stars was I ordered a half combo half pepperoni and olive, the guy repeated it back to me, I double checked at the end of the call, when the delivery man got there, the pizza had half pepperoni and half combo with EXTRA olives on the combo, so I was a little disappointed. The other thing was their notorious garlic knots were burned so I was also disappointed. Other than that though the pizza was amazing!! Never going to round table again!! You'll have my business as long as I live here!!

Giving this place such a low rating for the terrible service displayed this past Sunday afternoon. I bought the Yelp deal ($15 for $30) and ordered a large $26 pizza - half combo, half Sopranos. I knew that we'd have about $4 leftover to spend, so I asked the cashier if I could also order a pear salad. He said, "we don't have pear salad." So I opened the menu, and pointed right at the pear salad ($4.50). He then proceeded to charge me $31.50 for my entire order, of which we owed $1.50. Now do the math........$26+$4.50......should have been $30.50. I'm not one to be petty over a dollar, but its the principle of being overcharged that I spoke up for. However, when I spoke up, he seemed so reluctant and angry to refund my whole dollar. Ok, whatever. DON'T TAKE ME FOR A FOOL. When the cook behind counters started to make my pear salad, I noticed that he put some spinach in a takeout box, ran to the cash register, grabbed a few dollars and simply ran out the store. No one else was working on my salad, and the spinach was just sitting there. Then it clicked - he went to go buy a pear................ If you're going to have something on your menu, at the very least..LET YOUR EMPLOYEES KNOW. Second, at least have the ingredients on hand so customers aren't sitting there watching their spinach sit in a box unattended to. The cook came running back soon after with nothing in his hand, as if trying to hide the fact that he just went to go buy the missing pear. He pulled the pear out of his pocket, washed and cut it up. Next, the salad was supposed to come with a VINAIGRETTE, NOT A WHOLE TUB OF OLIVE OIL AND 2 DROPS OF BALSAMIC VINEGAR. The Food Network Gods taught me a DECENT vinaigrette recipe is always 2 parts oil, 1 part vinegar. It was probably one of the most disgusting salads I've ever had in my life. Granted no one usually expects customers to order salad at a pizza place, but come on.................SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Though the pizza was good, it was not worth the frustrating customer service.

This place is way too underrated. Everyone should know that if you want great service and a relaxing place to grab pizza by the slice (in this case, an amazing slice of New York style pizza) then this is the place to go. With every slice of pizza, you get one of their freshly made Garlic Knots. Our first time here, the owner hooked us up with an extra order which was awessome because those knots are to DIE for. My order: Plain old cheese pizza = perfectly baked pizza crust, light tomato sauce, and non greasy cheese. Simple and yummy. Boyfriend's order: Combination Pizza - YUMMM! But who doesn't lke combination pizza??? Bottom line - great place to have a pizza and beer. (Their organic root beer is so good). Their TV always have some sort of sports on so it's a great place to just hang out. Pizza My Heart - eat your heart out =P Some advice: The place is a bit small so if you're going with a group, I would recommend take out.

We have been looking for a good pizza place for a while now. I think we found it!! We had the Margherita pizza. It was AMAZING. So good! We also tried the "famous" garlic knots. Honestly, I don't know what the hype is all about. To me, it tasted like a biscuit ball. In fact, I don't even think I finished 1. But, that is also not the reason that we went there, so did not let it affect my stars. We will be going back again, this pizza was great!

I've been going here somewhat regularly since my first review. It's not a convenient location for me, but I like the pizza (particularly cheese topped with onions and jalapeños), and with the perennial Groupon deal, it works out to a fair price. Unfortunately, they seem to have raised prices for Groupon customers. It used to be that I could purchase 2 medium pizzas with a $30 Groupon. This time, I had to pay $40 for two mediums (one cheese, one with two toppings), so $10 above the Groupon value. The website prices imply the order should have been $33. On a previous trip, I was charged $30 for a large pizza (cheese) and garlic knots, which should be $22.50 per website prices. So it seems to be a systematic overcharging for Groupon customers. Price confusion aside, I've noticed that the flavor has slipped a bit. The last couple of pies I got had regressed to bland, doughy bread instead of the well-seasoned dough I was used to. Add in the fact that you need to coordinate it with a Groupon (before expiration date) to make the price reasonable, and I'm less enthusiastic than I used to be. Nothing against 212, as I wish them the best, but I'll look for a place closer to home, especially with the apparent price increase or possible overcharging. There is still no published menu in the store, by the way, which seems like an obvious thing to have.

It's a shame if you don't know what East Coast pizza tastes like. This pizza falls short of that but it's closer than most of the pizza I've been able to find around here. I can guarantee you that the guy taking a cheap shot at Buffalo pizza in his review of 212 doesn't know what he's talking about. Buffalo NY has terrific pizza! The crust might not be the same as NY pizza but it reminds me a little of the kind of crust on the snack pizzas I used to get when I lived in Italy. I like it. I've had a sausage and red bell pepper pizza, a Margherita Pizza, a cannoli and the garlic knots. The sausage on the first pizza had a very good flavor and, unlike the other review I read about it, my Margherita Pizza had fresh basil and large pieces of mozzarella and had a wonderful garlic flavor (I love garlic). The cannoli was good but I wouldn't rave about it or the garlic knots. They were good but I prefer garlic bread. This is by no means the best pizza I ever had but it's good. They might have made a mistake by insinuating that it's authentic NY pizza. People in these other reviews seem to be going into this place with higher than normal expectations and that never ends well. Especially if you compare your pizza to NY. They take their pizza seriously over there.

Not gonna lie, 212 definitely is on the ball with pleasing customers. They asked if it was out first time here and were very VERY friendly in addition to giving us a massive discount (a large tip was left to balance it out). A couple friends and I had Meat Lover and Times Square pies, adding some extra garlic on top. We also tried their delicious garlic knots with and without sauce and cheese. 212 definitely does not have the end-all best pizza, but their pies are definitely legit and the garlic knots are money. That paired with their excellent and ridiculously friendly service makes me give them a well-earned 5 stars.

As I am writing this review, I noticed they offered delivery on the Yelp site. But when I called, they said they don't do delivery. WTH??? I picked up 2 medium pizzas and 2 salads. The pizzas were greasy and salty. The salads were very boring and they gave only one small dressing which was not enough to even cover 1/2 a salad! Bad pizza; bad salad. Very surprised to see 4 stars. Don't waste your money.

I received a $30 groupon to this place. Its a small pizza place, looks new. I ordered two medium pizzas and a serving of the garlic knots. I purchased the pesto chicken pizza and a half indian style vegetarian and half margherita pizza. I thought that there could be a little more flavor on the indian style pizza, I with some garlic and ginger would do wonders! Everything else was pretty good. Took about 20 minutes to make the pizzas and exceptional customer service. I will probably order food from here again. BTW the knots were yummy, they came with some marinera sauce!

Seems like all the reviewers have a "groupon" or the like. Unfortunately, I just wanted pizza. Awful. Horrible. The worst pizza I've ever had. Domino's, in the old days, when it was basically ketchup on a saltine cracker with Oscar Mayer Bologna and fake cheese, was 100x better. I ordered the Margherita as any pizza place worth it's salt will make a good one. What kind of sauce is this? Tastes worse than Walmart catsup. Ordered "garlic knots" based on the reviews, they were disgusting and inedible. No one was rude or anything, it's just really bad pizza. Yes, I've spent plenty of time in NYC, and had great pizza, but I've also spent plenty of time in places without good pizza, and I can tell you without fear of contradiction that Round Table, Pizza Hut and Domino's all beat this place. There's a Subway next door, get a sandwich, you'll be happier.

Well, I was in the mood for some yummy pizza. I asked Siri for some advice, and I came here based on ratings. Sure enough, good experience! Came in, and right away the gal made a recommendation. I love it when folks make recommendations. Even if I don't take it, it gives me new ideas. Pizza selection is unique, and looks great! The Don Corleone is a pizza with Chicken, Pesto, artichokes, mushroom and garlic- I share this as an example, not as what I ate. I got a slice of the meat lovers, very yummy! Served with a garlic knot on top (looks like they do that to all of their pizza slices). Cheese and sauce is different, but very yummy!!! There was a man in the shop, who, I am guessing, is the owner... What made me think that is 1) Thick NY accent and 2) he was checking on every person to ensure they were happy. Dessert was delightful! Told them it was my first time, and they made me a mini cannoli. Overall, they easily earned their 5 stars. Great pizza, attentive service, nice NY pizzeria environment. Will be coming back here for sure!

Worst pizza service ever. Completely un reliable. Don't come here.. We ordered pizza and we later found out that our pizza was cold and of terrible quality. It looked like someone reheated no freshness.. The knots were plain, no marinara sauce maybe they just forge. Highly doubtful that I will be returning here. When I came to pick up my food I specifically asked if they included marinara with my knots. The guy(old) confirmed yes but sadly when I got home I found out that I had nothing to dip my dry out garlic knots in.

Found this place becuz of Google offers. The pizza was big, but not so delicious. For that price, rather get a Costco pizza instead. I order a meat lovers pizza, as usual, but this pizza didn't have much meat. I see the cheese area and few pieces of meat only. The place has an open kitchen, few seatings, but I wouldn't sit there. Rather go home to eat instead. Not saying its not clean, just not in the mood to sit there when the whole crew may stare at you eat.

I've actually been here twice so far. The first time was AMAZING. One of my friends who is a complete foodie declared it was the best pizza he's had in the South Bay. On this trip, we ordered a large half-Don Corleone and half pepperoni/olives/pineapple. Weird combination, but it was so tasty! We actually preferred the pepperoni/olives/pineapple over the Don Corleone. The crust was perfectly crisp and the toppings were generous. We were practically fighting over the leftovers! I wish I had gotten the names of the chef and worker, because it really was delicious. So fast forward a few weeks. I had a craving for NY pizza, and immediately thought to go here. I went with the same group, and we again ordered the same pizza. Unfortunately, the pizza was sooo salty I couldn't even finish my first slice. I'm the kind of person that puts salt on just about anything, so when I think something is too salty, it's damn salty. And we also ordered the garlic fries - big mistake because the fries were dripping with oil. When a female worker checked in on us, we informed her of the heavy dose of salt and oil. Her response? It's the same method, same recipe. We even overhead her telling another customer, who had complained about his order, that they don't get "4.5 stars on Yelp for no reason." Obviously didn't take criticism very well. Overall, consistency is lacking. Since I had a great first experience, I'll give it another chance. But I'll probably call to make sure the older gentleman (who was the chef that first night) and the young male worker are both there.

I liked their thin crust that still had a little chew to it, but thought the toppings were just ok. I was excited to get a free garlic knot with each slice, but they tasted on the underbaked side. We tried the combination and margherita pizzas, but I wish I had gone for the cheese instead (that looked pretty good). I liked the combo more than the margherita, and would recommend 212 for anyone looking for a quick bite in the area. They are in the same plaza as Gochi, so the parking lot is on the smaller side and it can be tough to find a spot. Very quick and friendly service though!

I decided to give this place a try after seeing it advertised on livingsocial.com as "Best New York style pizza" under 365 things to do in San Jose. I checked out the yelp reviews and their website quickly thereafter, and they have a pretty intense menu but decided on the large "Time Square" and some of those "world famous garlic knots". I think the total came to about 25$. I had told the guy at the pizza place that it was my first time eating there and he told me that I wouldn't be disappointed. Once I got it home and opened it up, I was kind of blown away on how massive the pizza itself was, and even more blown away on how massive the individual slices were. I guess this is how they roll in New York. After I was done eating...I kind of was disappointed. The pizza was okay. The garlic knots were in my opinion not good at all. I would describe them as too doughy, not enough flavor. Another thing I didn't really like, on our pizza there was like kraft singles (like the pre made slices of cheese you put on sandwiches) on our pizza. Wth?! That wasn't really appealing, at all. I think the definite pros of this place are the customer service and the price. However, I won't be eating here again.

FOOD POISONING ALERT!!! Its sad that this place has gone downhill. This was on my regular roster of "lazy, dont feel like cooking" go to places. BF and I would usually get a medium half and half, his half always a Combination, and mines either a Margherita (tomatoes, basil, garlic) or a Trinacria (spinach, jalapenos, tomatoes and garlic). About a month ago, we came across a Groupon offer and decided to call in our order. The person who took our order was difficult to speak with. When we requested half & half, he was a little confused, and we had to explain our order a few times before he was able to take it. At that point, I was thinking there may have been new employees as we usually spoke to a friendly guy, think his name was Marco? Anyways, we got our order, and of course, they forgot to add the requested pineapple to the combo, and the toppings were super skimpy and sparse. Taste-wise, something was off. The crust wasn't as good as it used to be, being more doughy than a true NY pizza should be, plus the cheese was bland. I thought maybe they just had an off night, and dismissed it as a one-time occurrence. But then the BF, who had the combo half, got food poisoning. Most likely from the sausage? Undercooked? So I was curious and I checked out yelp, and sure enough, they are under new ownership. After that experience, I can't say I would return for another round of undercooked, poorly made, NOT-new york pizza.

Having grown up in the Empire State, I'm familiar with NY-style pizza. 212's pizza pies are decent facsimiles of the real McCoy. If you're not sure what to order, the Don Corleone is not bad. As the other Yelpers noted, the service here is excellent. Free soda while you wait is a nice touch.

The folks that work here are truly nice - a great neighborhood pizza joint feel. The pizza is ok, nothing that I'd ever go out of my way for - but it gets the job done. I was a little dismayed at how sparse my last pizza was and it's large amount of crust compared to the area that had toppings. If you want really good thin crust pizza I'd suggest Cicero's - that is an addictive pizza.

We tried this place out because we bought a Groupon offer. Our pizza came out extremely greasy that it made the crust all soggy. We had to wipe the top of the pizza with napkins. There wasn't much pizza sauce so it tasted a little bland. We also ordered some chicken wings which came out OK. They were tender and not dry but wish they were more saucy. I don't think we'll be coming back here again.

I was craving for thin crust pizza and read that this place has good thin crust pizza. $4 gets you a slice and a garlic knot. Yum! I got the Argentenian, not on the menu but it had ham, red peppers and olives. Crust was thin, just a bit chewy and crunchy. Garlic knot was a good supplement to the pizza, just make sure you don't have any meetings afterwards because of garlic breath. I'll come back and get a pie (I might just share it).

The food is probably 3 stars, nothing to rave about but not horrible either. I wouldn't have even bothered to review, but they up and decided to apparently arbitrarily redefine their delivery boundaries and I went from suddenly being able to get delivery to "so sorry, 2.9 miles is too far" in the space of a week. This just seems like really shoddy business practices to me, since I'm a) just outside their new 'boundary' b) had been a fairly regular customer (who also tipped well). C) is somewhat secondary since I don't expect special treatment, but I'm disabled and can't drive, so being told to just pick up my order is a little bit irking.

Very good! We had salads (excellent), garlic knots (OK - a bit plain), and margharita pizza (very good). The pizza had a nice, thin crust, and the sauce and toppings had a fresh, clean taste. It wasn't really like "New York" pizza that I am used to, but it was quite tasty. Service was kind and personal. It was a little bit slow, because it seemed the same person was making everything for us, but he did a great job. I would go back.

Found this place by mistake and glad I did I ordered the combo slice, the pepperoni and a salad and it came with these awesome mouth watering garlic pesto knots service was excellent, quick and food was not pricey . I will come back again and again very good thin crust pizza .

5 star service, 5 star food, and in a great location. The people working here are a total blast and seem genuinely friendly; they were joking around with some of us and would frequently check up on how we were enjoying the food. Their portions are well worth the cost, and their food reflects their high Yelp rating - I am now addicted to those garlic knots! I don't live in the area, but this is somewhere I would willingly make the drive to just to pick up a pizza and bring home.

They definitely need to work on their marketing. I have been in this shopping center countless times and assumed this place was gimmicky and second rate based on their name and how they look. But when I saw all the good reviews on yelp, I decided to give it a try, The pizza really reminds me of the stuff in NY. I know hardcore people think that NY has something in their water that makes their dough different, but whatever. This is some great New York style pizza with a somewhat friendly owner/guy behind the counter, and some pretty delicious garlic knots.

They say New York pizza is the way it is because of the water in the area. After eating here, I have considered that to be utter hogwash. This place is the closest I have gotten to authentic New York pizza. Eating here reminds me of the times I have eaten pizza in Manhattan. It's that incredible. My friend and I complimented the manager and the cashier for his pizza, and they gave us dessert rolls! Can't beat that service. Will definitely come back when I move down here.

Best customer service you can get! The owner is super nice and gave my friends and I a great discount and free drinks! Although we were kind of being loud and obnoxious, he was still very chill and provided great service! Although it is slightly pricey, the pizza was fantastic and the garlic knots were delicious as well! Must try! ^_^

Keep this in mind I have never been to the restaurant, but had this food catered for a work event. I really loved their garlic knots! Those little suckers are so good it is really hard to just eat one! Pizza is thin slice. That I wasn't so much a fan of, because it didn't seem to settle in my stomach that well. Canolis were dead on authentic Italian style. Those I would go back for hands down.

Came here last week with a co-worker for an extended lunch, and had some great-tasting pizza! Had a half-Sopranos-Half 5-spice Picante. I liked the Sopranos better, but that's not to say the 5SP wasn't good. Both were great. The crust was very thin, which was much appreciated, and it came out super fast too, which was even more appreciated. All in all, it was great. Price was a bit upsetting though. $20 for a medium. Is that normal at pizza places nowadays? I'm so used to Costco pizzas and prices heh.

LOVE this place. Come here so often for lunch that the guys know my name. I always get the Hawaiian - classic ham and pineapple, but they put bacon and coconut shavings on it. IT'S SO GOOD!!! And the garlic knots are delicious! They always add one with any slice of pizza, but I always leave wishing I had ordered more. Highly recommended!

212 New York Pizza was just alright for me.... I ordered a slice of the margerita pizza and a side of "famous" garlic knots. My pizza was alright; a little bit on the oily/greasy side but had nice fresh tomatoes and basil. The garlic knots, which are supposed to be awesome, were dry and bready in texture. My self serve fountain drink, which was labeled Rasberry Ice Tea, turned out to be sprite lol. Overall, 212 New York Pizza was nothing impressive. I won't be coming back for more.. sorry :(

I came here with my cousins to cash in on a GotDailyDeals voucher. We ordered a medium half pepperoni, half cheese with crinkle fries and mozzarella sticks... You weren't expecting the kids to order salads, were you? I had bites here and there and thought the food to be good. The margherita could do without the olive oil as it's greasy enough as is, but the pizza received my cousins' stamp of approval and these guys are food critics in the making. Good service, nice selection of pies. I'll add this to my rotation.

I'll begin with the best parts of my experience at 212. The guys working there had a high level of customer service. They were very friendly, and cleaned up the tables quickly. I think they give free fountain drinks for dine-in. Lots of pizza options and side orders at fair prices. The down side was that the pizza didn't impress too much. I think they are trying to be gourmet, but I didn't like the oil that was drizzled all over the pizza, oil in the garlic knot marinara sauce, and my balsamic salad dressing that had no balsamic - just oil. I don't live near the shop and I have other spots I like better.

Going by the recommendation of fellow Yelpers, I took a ride out to try 212 New York Pizza. It's a little shop tucked in a sleepy strip mall so you'll have to look for the neon. But, the interior looks brand new, a big plus in my book. The pizza by the slice sits in a plexiglass display case. Once you order, the owner toasts them in the pizza oven instead of handing them to you like all the other pizza joints. He also dropped a garlic knot on each slice so I had the chance to sample these truly delicious and throughly garlicky rolls. The pizza itself is honest and good with fresh ingredients instead of salt and preservatives. Though I'm not a fan of traditional New York style pizza's thin crust, this may start converting me. I took down two slices for lunch and got three more slices to go, since they seem to reheat perfectly fine. They were still amazing the next day. It's definitely close to my favorite, Premier Pizza. The enthusiastic owner definitely added to the ambiance, as I always enjoy tasting someone's passion through the food. So, if it weren't for the long drive to get there from Milpitas, I'd be there at least weekly. But, now that this is on the map, I'll finally have something to look to when I'm hungry in Cupertino.

Come for the pizza, stay for the garlic knots. If you're into soccer, there's usually a game on the flat screen. Pies are reasonably priced, but slices are where it's at. You can easily try a whole variety of combinations without breaking the bank. Similar to Pizza My Heart (my normal go-to pizza by the slice place in the South Bay), slices are awesome when they come fresh out of the oven, but are still great when they reheat it for you at the time of your order. Like a good New York style slice, the bottom of the slice is perfectly crisped with just a tinge of black. The garlic knots are served with fresh garlic and are tossed in olive oil. Grab a basket while you're waiting for your slices to be heated. Definitely stopping by for a slice whenever I'm in the area.

Came here with some NEW coworkers of mine a couple weeks back and I have to say, very nice. Very nice, indeed. So we got the garlic knots... for free! Didn't order it but they just gave it to us because.. I guess we had a large party? (Only 6 peeps) And because it was free, IT WAS DELICIOUS! We ordered garlic fries and the meat lover pizza. The fries disappeared within minutes of being set on the table... I think everybody was just hungry :P And the pizza was good too! Honestly, I'm not a huge pizza fan and I usually just take a bite and feel dissatisfied and stop eating after that, but I ate two whole slices.. so this should mean something to you all :) Think I might come back here again.. grab some pizza and walk on over to GAMBA to get my karaoke in.

Came here with a buddy of mine before catching a movie over at Valco. The pizza was pretty good. I got the artichoke and chicken pizza, and a Cream Soda. They include a bread bite thing with the pizza which was a little too much for me as I felt like I'd eaten a plate full of carbs afterwards, which I guess I techincally had. The place is small but the pizza is good and they do have great service!

Not my favorite pizza place, instead, I don't understand why it gets such a high yelp rating It's not expensive, but the quality is bad, oh well, not better than pizza hut. It's quite oily. I will not come back. If I need a quick pizza meal, I go J T....

This is my go-to pizza delivery place. The pizzas are thin and the slices are large, making a scrumptious New York folded treat. Though I'm a Chicago-style pizza girl at heart, this joint will win me over with their garlic knots. They are lightly buttered and have a delicious garlic flavor without making you feel like your breath is ready to fight a vampire.

Nice guys! Small spot, has pizza by the slice which is convenient if you're looking for a quick grab. We had some time to spare and decided to order a medium half Hawaiian and half don caroleone (pesto, chicken, artichoke, garlic, mushrooms). Pretty damn good. The chicken was mostly white meat which I prefer and the other toppings were all high points. They have some other really interesting pizza combos which I look forward to trying. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was the texture, I was really looking forward to a crunchy NY pizza and it doesn't didn't have it. I'm definitely going to come back and try the premade slices which looked much thinner than ours. All in all, medium pizza that we didn't even finish because the slices were loaded with toppings and 2 drinks for $18 with leftovers, not bad.

  • Hideyo S.

Place is fine. Relatively thin crust. Personally, I like it a bit thinner and definitely crisper. For me, Slice of New York dishes up a better slice... but if I'm too lazy to drive out there, 212 will do (it's a lot closer to where I live). I do appreciate the friendly service and the added garlic knot with my slice. Doubly appreciated the discount the guy at the counter gave me on the spot for being a first time customer.

I didn't have to ask what "212" stands for, because I'm from "201". I agree that a place where you are made to feel welcome automatically gets stars, because it is the one ingredient that can't be bought or faked. Having Marcos wait on you is like talking to a favorite neighbor over the back fence. Nice. If that weren't enough, my slice of veggie pizza was customized into a work of art. (Pile 'em high!) As soon as the crust hit my tongue, I had a flashback to NJ, which is where I grew up. Darned if I can tell you exactly what or why, but the association was there. The sauce also has a certain East Coast jene sais quoi. Extra points for offering unusual, interesting pizzas right next to the tried-and-true. All yum. I can't wait to try the Indian Veggie Pizza with ginger (?!).

Came in here to get a slice on my way back from the gym (that's why you go to the gym right?) This is a small joint but there is plenty of seating inside. You can tell this place is all about NYC with the big statue of liberty figure in the window. I walked in and right away the owner of 212 greeted me with a big smile and some friendly conversation. This place is totally easy coast style as you can pick up a slice or a whole pie. The bonus is he throws in a garlic roll with your slice! SCORE! The pizza was very very crispy since they reheat (since they throw it in the oven again when you order it) which I love and thee were tons of flavor to the pizza. WE also ordered some cinnamon dough dessert which was money as well. There is a small TV in the joint which is usually on hockey from what I can tell. If you want to get your jersey shore on you should go in here and get a slice.

  • Brian H.

I've been here a few times and the quality of the pizza depends on your timing. You really want it when it comes fresh out of the oven instead of it sitting there for a while and being reheated. That being said, the pizza you get here will always be at least decent enough to satisfy your thin crust NY style craving. My favorite so far has been the Hawaiian. There's this really stringy cheese that is used that I absolutely love. The 4 stars goes mainly to the guy behind the counter, the owner. He's super friendly and will make sure you get exactly what you want. The pizza could be Little Caesar's quality and I'd still come back because I love places with owners that take care of you like this place.

  • Grace W.

212 New York Pizza makes very flavorful pizza. Yes its a much thinner pizza unlike the Chicago style. But its not the thin and crispy crust that cracks when broken. Picking the pizza off the menu is much better value than design-you-own. I prefer Abos Pizza (unfortunately!)

I have to say, before I actually tried the pizza here, I wasn't impressed by how it looked on display. I've never had New York style pizza before since there aren't many places in the area that offer a decent version of it. NY pizza is thin and not substantial so it didn't look like much for the price. However, all my doubts disappeared when I took a few bites. The crust was crispy and the toppings + sauce were very flavorful. I just tried A Slice of New York Pizza (in SJ) earlier today to compare and I like 212 better. The pizza seemed to have more flavor here and a better crust consistency. Wish I had known about the Yelp deal before stopping by but I will definitely be back.

Awesome down-home NY Pizza complete with thin crust, tomato-y sauce and cheese that stretches for miles. There are real herbs to be seen but the flavor is still mild and lets the toppings do the talking. The Don Corleone is just the best and hubby (who's Italian and from NJ) approves of the garlic knots. The customer service is ridiculous--they remembered us by name, our ordering preferences and have thrown in little extras for us. Great people, great pizza, close by. What more could you ask for?

    (5)
  • Jeff S.

WOW, just WOW, that was a damn fine slice of pie. Super thin crust, with just the right amount of crisp. And the garlic knots were heavenly moist and yet still crispy-salty dough. I'm usually the first person to say, "no garlic, please" but the garlic knots are a must try. Not too garlicky, and they are deee-licious! I have found my NY on the west coast. The best NY style, by-the-slice- place I've found in the bay area. My mouth is still happy two hours later. There are a lot of local thin crust options, but 212 New York Pizza tastes like the real deal. This review is for pizza and the garlic knots only... I thought that I might try a salad, or something lighter as we made our way to the small funky strip mall off of Homestead (at Blaney), but one whiff of the heavenly smell and there was no question about it, it was pizza for me. I did not try the Stromboli, Calzone, salads, or desserts. Perhaps I will someday, but the pizza was soooo good, I'd have a hard time ordering something else. This will definitely become a regular stop on our work/lunch rounds.

It's been 2 weeks and I still crave for the Don Corleone. Which is Chicken, pesto, artichoke and I think mushrooms. It's sooo freaking good!! I was full by the second slice but yup I had to do it and took a third slice. I left there full and happy and wish it was a lot closer to home. But then again, it's probably better that its farther away. Anyways, enjoy!!

My review was almost going to be a 2 star but the staff here are so nice to everyone I gave them an extra star. The pizza is really just ok nothing special. The crust is like a dry cracker and falls apart if you try to fold it. We tried a couple of slices and both had very little cheese and sauce. My sister and I are from New York and we know are pizza it's our favorite food. The pizza at 212 is not even close. It's not that their pizza is bad it's just not worthy of all the 5 star reviews steering people wrong like us. They also sell calzone, stromboli and even sweet potato fries that sound good. The pizza was such a let down I don't know if I'll be back. The staff as I said are very nice and give free garlic knots with your slice which is a nice touch. I have tried almost every pizza place in the bay area and there are some good ones. A Slice Of New York has some of the best pizza and is a favorite of mine.Their pizza is what you get in New York. GuGu's in Santa Clara is very good and another favorite. Rosie's and Tony n Alba's in San Jose are also pretty good.

Craving pizza and ordered this place. Had delivery. It was fast and quick which was good. I got their 212 Pizza, mozzarella sticks and those garlic bread thing. Overall, the pizza wasn't that great. The sauce could of been better. Mozzarella sticks were okay, too salty. seems frozen. most likely. and the garlic bread was too greasy for me. This experience was not too great. Probably wont come again.

Walk in there and the ambiance is nice. The pizza is ok to mediocre. This place would gotten a higher rating if it weren't for the guy behind the counter. He claims to be Italian and from NY, but the guy is Mexican and he definitely isn't from New York.

    (1)
  • Tracy C.

good flavor, nice menu choices, but not that great. i ordered delivery. they're 1/8 mile from us, the crust was burnt and the pizza was cold.huh? scratching my head. this might not not have been too bad if our pizza weren't the mozzarella slices that were just cold blobs. so frustrating when you're hungry and paying $30 for pizza. also we were excited about the choice and finding something so close by. bottom line, i'd do this place for a slice and salad at lunch but i wouldn't spend much more than that for this place. too bad! they were fast. if you're getting a simple pizza...cheese and pepperoni or something along those lines, might be more worth it. and in response to Marcus's comment to my review.... I'm sorry you don't have record of me, but i'm certainly not making it up. thanks for your suggestion of pick up instead but we'd had a couple of glasses of wine and really wanted pizza so.....that's what happens when you have hungry, tipsy customers!

It's true that this is closest to that great chewy and fatty NY City pizza. We enjoy it. Maybe it's the fact the big city is missing, but it still isn't right on the money. Very, very close, for California, but not quite 100% authentic. Don't get me wrong however--very good and worth the visit and the money.

    (4)
  • David C.

Great service, better pizza! I'm from New York too and it's great to have something local that reminds me of home. They use fresh, quality ingredients which you can taste in the final product. Their pies are usually much better/fresher that a slice. I like the broadway with pepperoni on it a lot. I'd love to see some more standard pizza's on their menu to choice from, but you can always build your own. Regardless, I'll keep ordering here, I always know what I'm getting!

    (5)
  • Michael W.

NO DELIVERY. Just called, they don't do delivery anymore. It's a shame because I spent some time looking at their menu and picking out a meal. Oh well, I hope their dine-in business is enough to keep them afloat. I really liked Pizza Presto (the place that was here before). Maybe someday I'll drive there and check them out.

  • Mike T.

Came here over the past week based on the reviews from Yelp and was disappointed. Compared to other NY pizzas out there, this one falls short. It just doesn't have the distinct taste of a NY slice. The sauce was off... it did not have the balanced acidic and sweet tomato taste. The crust did not have a crisp bottom and chewy center. A slice of NY is still considered one of the best in the area in my eyes.

    (2)
  • Danny K.

Still have not found a really great East Coast Pizza place. I thought this might be it from all the reviews, but sadly it fell far short of my expectations. The good: Really nice and friendly owner pizza man. Gave me a discount and free garlic knots. But pizza is just okay. Good for the price but not as good as what you can get in the Big Apple. I ordered a cheese pizza, which is the easiest way to judge NY style pizza. Here is the critique: Crust: No taste, not yeasty enough, needs to be thinner, doesn't have that NY chewiness.... need a better dough recipe is my rec. Sauce: too salty though and too acidic. Cheese: not the highest quality and way too salty or perhaps it was the sauce. The joint is nice and has some potential cause this guy from the Bronx can throw a pie, but needs to work on the chemistry of the dough, sauce and cheeze. The dough needs to blister!!!

  • Judith D.

I ordered a half cheese, half artichokes, mushrooms and sausage. The ingredients are all really good and fresh, especially the dough, nummy. The only thing I would have loved would have been, a little more sauce. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars but I'm coming back for sure and will ask them to use a little more sauce. I'm sure it will be all my dreams come true with that small tweak. Definetely tastes like NY pizza. The place was packed so it's probably good to order in advance if you're not getting a slice from the ones on display.

A business who makes a difference, donated pizzas and drinks to ACS Relay for Life of Cupertino, everyone loved and enjoyed the pizzas and drinks. Marco and his employees are awesome! We appreciate your donation...THANK YOU!

Some of Marco's comments about my review aren't clear to me, but he does say he uses olive oil. Was that the reason I thought the pizza was greasy and slimey? And it was greasy and slimey.... Well, I don't know. It may well have been a contributor. But I can tell you that Olive Oil is probably better left for Popeye. The best pizzas I've had don't have much (if they have any) on them, and I've had some good ones all over the country.

Just had a great Calzone at 212 New York Pizza! The crust was golden, once it was cut it oozed mozzarella and ricotta. It came with a generous side of marinara sauce with oregano and Marco, the owner, threw in a few garlic knots to kill the wait. Marco is a great guy, always friendly and ready for a chat or couple of jokes. The TV is permanently tuned on south america soccer games, so you know you can get your soccer fix as well as you REAL East Coast style pizza in this great place.

After looking for quite a long time, I'd not been able to find good approximations of NY pizza out here. Suddenly, there are two in the same week. 212 is one of the places that is making me believe it is possible to get it out here. Ran in to get a quick slice to go and found that the crust was pretty damn close. Good cheese, pepperoni, and sauce too. I'll have to come back and try some of the other things now that I know there's a viable option not too far from me. 4.5stars

Very mediocre pizza. The positive is that the medium pizza doubles as large. The negative thing that most of it went to the garbage. Even kids wouldn't eat their cheese pizza.

    (2)
  • Matt H.

The owner is a true New-Yorker. The pizza he makes is phenominal, as well as the garlic knots and the canolis. He also talked to us about baseball and hockey as we stayed to watch the end of the Giants game. Some of the best pizza and hospitality I've ever had. You gotta try this place.

Went in for the $6 slice/salad/soda deal, which today was only $5 with the coupon. I had a choice of 6 flavors that were pre-made. I asked for a slice of combo that was placed in the pizza oven to heat up. The salad was freshly made, chopped romaine with some thin sections of sliced tomato and sliced white onion. The dressing seemed to be a balsamic vinaigrette. The slice was thin crust, quite crispy, with relatively little cheese. It tasted more like a frozen pizza than one that was freshly made. Perhaps their made-to-order pizza tastes fresher. In retrospect I wished that I had sprung the $7-8 for the similar lunch combo at Pizza My Heart.

Not really a thin crust pizza. ehh- it was just okay. But i really saved alot with the yelp deal. Thanks yELP!

Best pizza place I've tried so far in Norcal. Definitely get the fried cheese ravioli. The pizza have that NY pizza crust and sufficient amount of cheese on it unlike Pizza My Heart (a rip off). The service was great. The owner and workers have a very good sense of humor. Thank you for bringing Authentic NY style pizza to the Bay Area!!!

okay , do you want a real new york home slice? do you want a friendly neighborhood place amidst unfriendly impersonal strip malls? Do you want a pizza place where the owner treats everyone like family and is genuinely happy for your business? Well than 212 is the place. Have gone in the last two days for a slice. It was genuinely delish and a great experience. Thanks to Marco for bringing this great place to boring Cupertiino!!!

Pizza by the slice at lunch is good. The owner is funny, get him talking and he will entertain you, true italian guy from NYC. It's pretty good pizza, it tastes great, but after more than a couple slices it gets a bit mundane. The fewer toppings the better, very close to a true NYC style pizza, best with just cheese and sauce.

I don't mean to raid on the love fest for this place but the food was average at best. First off though, the service gets two thumps up so overall I give them 3 1/2 stars. They deliver now, which surprised me b/c I thought they only did during limited hours. But the guy taking my order was nice and the delivery man was equally pleasant so kudos there. But I could not justify the average pie for a 4 star rating. I ordered a small pepperoni, mushrooms and olives pizza along with a side of chicken wings (8 piece). The pizza simply was average. There was nothing spectacular to note by any stretch. It kind of reminded me of Howie's in Palo Alto. Nothing stood out. The crust wasn't extra thin nor crispy and the quality of ingredients were average at best. I simply wasn't Wow'd at all. 7 bucks for 8 small chicken wings is a bit steep in my book, especially since they weren't real crispy anyways. It had decent flavor but once again, 7 dollars for that small amount just wasn't worth it. Overall, 3 1/2 stars like I said for good customer service. It is new so being the pessimist I am, I am always skeptical that the service might go downhill the more successful it becomes. Remains to be seen.

We didn't have good experience earlier but owner really cares about the customers and we gave them another chance. They delivered well cooked pizza.

Maybe I go at weird times but I have never seen more than one customer there at a time. However, don't let that turn you down, this place has truly awesome pizza. The owner is great and super friendly. I usually order The Soprano's with a side order of garlic knots, and the two make the perfect combination. Come here for authentic New York pizza with great service. You won't be disappointed.

Even though I am a regular here I give it 5 stars for a good reason, the pizza is excellent and you definitely pay for the quality of not only the product but the service. The staff and service is great, they really do treat you like family and Marco is awesome! If you're not sure what to get standard cheese is always a safe bet, but the margarita is REALLY good. A simple vegetarian pizza that has a fresh flavor and but still doesn't skimp if you're hungry. The garlic knots are an excellent plus too and is a great way to top it off if you're not feeling a second slice. For the product, the service and price it is as good as it gets.

I've been craving pizza lately and this place really did its job to fill that craving. The draw of this place for me was not only the good reviews on yelp, but also because it was really close to my work. Yes!! Another lunch spot to add to the rotation. My sister and I came here at noon on a Wednesday and the place was not too crowded at all. Maybe we beat the lunch rush? I ordered a slice of the Margarita and my sister got a Meat Lovers. Both were delicious. Nice thin crispy crust. Toppings was just enough. I was under the assumption that Margarita pizzas had fresh mozzarella, which my slice didn't, but I guess it depends on the place. Regardless, I was happy with my slice of pizza. Next time I will try the Broadway, which actually says fresh mozzarella in the description. Our pizzas also came with a garlic knot. Mmmm garlic and fluffy bread, can't go wrong with that. You definitely taste the garlic for a few hours after lunch too, so be aware of that. We had Bubble Up sodas which is basically a generic 7-up, with a little more lemon/lime flavor. Interesting, but I'll stick to regular soda next time. Like I said, we'll be adding this place to the weekly lunch rotations. The owner was really funny and made me giggle a little. Only thing is, he talked a lot of smack about the Sharks. Haha... good thing they make good pizza!

Few pizza joints these days give you the local pizza parlor feel. On top of having an assortment of delicious new york style pizza and garlic knots that accompany the slices, the staff here was very friendly and welcoming, which to my point, gives you that local pizza joint feel and makes you want to come back for more. We will be back!

Really disappointing food. We decided to try this place based on the reviews. Bad idea. The pizza was dry, and really salty. The crust was like hard cardboard. The garlic knots tasted like Pillsbury biscuits reformed with a tiny bit of garlic, and way overbaked. We hoped that we would have found a new place to frequent. We'll not be eating here again. Save your money and go to someplace like Nizario's.

Best pizza in town! I went here for the first time today and the food was crazy good! Met Marco who was so welcoming and he told stories of how and why he opened the place. Now to describe the food... Pizza: -So many to choose from...pizza combinations he has created on the menu are spot on! I just wanted to order all of them! Because it was our first time, we ordered a couple slices of their signature pepperoni. Oh my gosh, pepperoni pizza is just pepperoni pizza you're probably thinking, right? Heck no! Not here! They do not skimp on pepperoni, their cheese is so tasty (screams quality)...oh and the crust...OH MY! The crust is thin and crispy, holds toppings...PERFECT! They also top the pizza with oregano sprinkles, which to me, made it even more special. Garlic Knots: THIS IS A MUST...you have to, HAVE TO try these. Rounds of yummy garlic dough, pulls apart and inside is pillowy soft and chewy with loads of garlic flavor. Marco says he experiments all the time and this time, he used combination of pizza dough and tomato dough creating a swirl like dough ball...right on the money Marco!!! Marco also gave us free drinks to go with our meals. We will be regulars, because of their food and their warm welcome, LOVE THIS PLACE!

Saw all the great reviews so ofcourse I had to come in and give it a try since I love pizza, especially NY style pizza. I just got back from NY a couple weeks ago, and ofcourse the pizza there is amazing! I ordered a slice of cheese and a slice of ham and pineapple, my favorite was the ham and pineapple since the ham was pretty flavorful. The service here is friendly and the owner threw in a couple garlic knots with my pizza, wish there was some dipping sauce for it though, kinda dry on its own. One problem I did have with the pizza is you can't taste much of the sauce, well especially with my slices. I always order a slice of cheese, since you can really tell how good a pizza is without all the other toppings on it. I think the pizza needs a bit more sauce on it or maybe there was enough sauce but no flavor in the sauce, I could definitely taste the cheese but the sauce is what makes the pizza unique from any other pizza place. If im ever in the area again, ill definitely stop by to give it another try, maybe next time I'll get a better slice. But for now 3 stars is pretty generous.

Finally someone that gets east coast pizza. Walk in and Marco greets you with, "what's up tough guy" in a highly missed NY accent. The pizza crust is perfect, the cheese gooey and the toppings 'normal' (read 'traditional'). I've been on the west coast for four months and love every aspect of it (I'm never going back east), but can't live without a good Slice of pie. Now that I've found this place all is well. Check it out.

Pizza is my favorite food, and their meat lovers pizza has to be the best slice I've ever had. The service here rocks, they truly want you to be happy. Priceless!

In an attempt to figure out whether SONY makes the best NY style pizza, I needed to try another highly rated NY style pizza joint around the same area. With all the great reviews, I was really expecting the same quality as SONY. I ordered a medium pizza for take-out (half meat lovers, half supreme) as well as their knots (I read tons of reviews which raved about the knots too). When I walked into the place to pick up my pizza, my heart dropped a little since it was completely empty. Yikes, not a good sign. Maybe I should be a little more forgiving though since I came at 6 (yes, we eat like senior citizens). The pizza was just okay, but honestly, I think I would've been just as happy with a *gasp*... Pizza Hut $10 whatever you want on it large pizza. SONY is definitely better, I'm a bigger fan of their crust and just toppings in general. The garlic knots were also okay, I was expecting a bit more and was disappointed to see that they did not include any marinara sauce. Therefore, the knots tasted a bit too dry for my liking, plus it wasn't garlicky enough. So although the SONY Sunnyvale/Mountain View location is 5 minutes further for me, I think I'll still go there for my pie.

Got 2 large take outs and garlic knows after reading the reviews. Pizza was ready on time and smoking hot. Great pizza, though a bit oily. Great owner. Very comparable to Slice of NY, but different. Will go back for sure!

So yummy in my tummy. My family and I come here about once a week and we always order the same thing. Hawaiian and Broadway. We get Hawaiian with extra pineapples and guess what??? They put coconut on it too! YUM. First time i've ever had coconut on my pizza, and i love it!

its not a bad place I went after the dinner rush so there wasnt many customers sitting down but they still had a ton of take out orders. i ordered the don corleone pizza and the garlic knots. the time to wait was typical for walking in and ordering so that wasnt to bad about 15 min total for my order. the pizza was good and being a former new yorker i found it to be pretty close to a ny pie. the garlic knots where soft and chewy and heavy on the garlic so i though they where pretty good also. im looking forward to trying some of the other pizzas they have

garlic nots are ok. my pizza could have had a darker crust. thin crust ny style does not have the yeast bread taste that I crave. my face is still applewood in menlo park. I'll pass on this spot.

  • Alan S.

I don't think this was anything like NY style pizza. The crust was OK, but overall was a little disappointed. I think there could have been more sauce too, and the flavor of the sauce was not like NY style sauce on a pizza.

LOVE this place!! My Italian family is from Jersey, so we know our pizza! We also know that finding traditional NY Style pizza in Cali can be quite the challenge. Sure, I've found a couple good places, that are definitely worth going back to, but 212 set the bar a little higher. I went today for the first time, took my "Jersey girl" mom, and we were pleasantly greeted by the owner, Marco! First thing out of his mouth when my mom said she was from Jersey was, "What exit?" (if you're from there you know what I'm talking about). Felt like home as soon as we started the conversation! Now to the food. We had a slice of cheese, and a slice of pepperoni and both were great! They had the perfect fold, light on the sauce, and the dough and crust were amazing! We also each had a garlic knot as well which was scrumptious! And of course, my mom wanted to try the cannoli which we gobbled up in no time! As soon as I got back to the office, I began raving about it! Not only was the food and service fantastic, but you can't beat the price either...and all the prices listed include tax already! $3.50 for a slice of pure perfection...now that's what I'm talking about!! I will definitely be going back to 212 very soon and highly recommend that you check it out!

The only thing NOT New York about this place, is the service... but that's a GOOD thing! I went here the Saturday before Father's Day (I'm from the East Coast and was looking for some people that actual knew how to make simple, great tasting pizza, as opposed to a fancy $30+ pie that barely resemble REAL pizza any more)... Well, I found the place. In the Bay Area, this is as good as it gets... I do not live close, but its worth the trip because of the customer service. The owner was so nice, so friendly, and really hooked me up for father's day (went in my wife and 22 month old daughter). He treats his customers awesome, and cares about them. Caring about your customers, as well as your business, means a lot, and is sometimes hard to find in the Bay Area. This is why it gets ALL 5 STARS, and will keep me going back for more...

This place has the best, most authentic New York Pizza around! We have sorely missed this since moving to CA from the East Coast. Marco did a great job at Vito's in Santa Clara, and since we moved to western Sunnyvale, we have been searching for good pizza again! Well, now we have it! So happy to see Marco again in such a great Sunnyvale location. Terrific pizza, great sauce flavor, fabulous thin, crisp crust!! Lots of herbs and the garlic knots are to die for!

This place is ok.....the people who work there were super nice but I'm not a big fan of the pizza. I like my crust to be a little chewy. Theirs kind of reminded me of the dough at Domino's. All the touristy new York stuff they use to decorate the shop is a little hokey too.

Went here with a coworker after reading reviews on Yelp. I am definitely a fan now. The owner is genuinely friendly. We ordered one small pizza for the two of us. It was plenty. We wanted to try their garlic knots, but forgot to order when we ordered our pizza. We asked the owner to ring us up again for some knots, but he said he was just going to give it to us free! He gave us like a dozen free knots and also gave free sodas. The pizza was good. Didn't think it was out of the world or anything. The garlic knots were awesome. 4 stars for the food and an additional star for the friendly owner! Enjoy!

I found this place on Yelp, while looking for somewhere to eat while in the Bay Area and it was just around the corner so I thought I would give it a try. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by Marco the owner and the rest of his friendly staff, He got us set up with an amazing Margherita pizza with fresh tomatoes and basil Yum!. On the menu they place little green diamonds next to the vegetarian options which made it so easy to pick out a meat free pizza. The service and the quality that 212 offers is something you just don't see at many places anymore. I look forward to coming here again when I'm back in the bay area! Be sure to try the Garlic Knots, they're awesome! Thanks again Marco!

Are you tired of "good pizza" tasting the same everywhere? 212 Pizza will light up your day. Perhaps, as claimed by New Yorkers, pizza truly tastes crispy and different in New York. The dough is unlike our typical Californian pizza dough. Despite looking, I can't find a near replica of the taste anywhere nearby. The service itself, is as spectacular as the pizza. You will not be disappointed to stop by, because this place is definitely not hyped up. It's a quaint family owned restaurant with true New York pride coupled with a refreshing respect for its customers. After a slice, reserve space for the cannolis. Sampling those desserts was a delightful surprise.

I love this place! Me and my boyfriend always get our pizza from here :) The pizza is DELICIOUS. In fact, I get hungry every time I think about it! The slices are huge, and although they are a bit pricey, the customer service is amazing and worth every penny. The owner and my boyfriend always have conversations about sports every time we go, and one time he knocked off a couple of dollars off our whole pizza. This place is great! Best pizza in Cupertino!

Best pizza in Sunnyvale area! My wife and I used to go to Vito's all the time, but 212 is cleaner, has better food, and has Marco behind the counter!

Aite.....don't mean to be a hater and give 3 stars after seeing the abundant 5 star ratings here. After all, it was all these 5 star ratings that got me to try out this place. I've been here twice and both times I'd give 212 a solid 3 stars. The main reason for the 3 stars is that their pizza sauce is on the salty side. The toppings are great, but the pizza as a whole tasted really salty instead of savory. I'll drive the extra 8 minutes and head over to ASONY.

Awesome pizza, the best New York pizza in the bay area hands down. I ordered a large half sausage half broadway and it was phenomenal!!! The closest to NY pizza I had since I was in NY!!!!

This place is the shit. I come in here all the time for a slice and garlic knots and it never disappoints. They have so many choices but the best is definitely the combo. The real thing that makes this place special is the owner Marco. He's always welcoming and upbeat and it just makes the experience 10x better.

The owner of this place is a huge Detroit Red Wings fan. If you can get past that, the service is awesome and the pizza exceptional. What's not to like?

  • Ted K.

I went to this place with my 3 year old the other day. The Sausage Pizza we ordered was solid and very much like the NYC pizza shops that I've been to before. However, the service was awesome! They were super friendly, gave us free garlic knots and a sugar canole that was fantastic. I used to live near the shop so I would have been a frequent visitor but I'll definitely support any business that has such great service.

If you live or work in the Cupertino area, you have to try this small but cozy pizza joint. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and the food is great. The pizza is delicious, and unlike the other New York style pizza places in the area. The main thing that sets this place apart from the other pizza places in the area is the garlic knots... all the other knots are in a distant second place.

    (5)
  • Grizwald Y.

Hands down the best pizza I've ever had. Beats all the other by-the-slice pizza places in the area. The owner is extremely nice and the service is always fantastic. Always has the hockey game on, too; bonus!

  • Laura C.

awesome! I went there with 8 other people after karaoke. we smelled pizza in the plaza and after a bit of exploring, we found out that it was coming from this place. we were all famished, so we walked in. after we sat down, he gave us two free things of garlic knots which were so freaking good! it's cool that you can actually watch them make your pizza, from the dough to the sauce to the cheese to the toppings. the actual pizza was really good, too. it was so cheesy that we had to lift slices way up and pull at the cheese strings with our fingers, or else they never would've broken haha. holy yum. I am definitely bringing other people here just because it's so yummy (: the only thing is, if you come with a big group, you better hope that there's a lot of vacant tables, because we had to squish two tables and lots of chairs together to fit us all.

  • Tim J.

There's definitely more of a "gourmet" touch at this joint. I've tried the cheese, pepperoni, veggie, and BBQ chicken slices, and each one has been delicious. Crust = thin, foldable, chewy on the inside, crisp on the outside Toppings = fresh, abundant By-the-slice size = large! Price = $3-4 depending on the toppings The garlic knots are warm, fresh, and chewy; a pleasant surprise thrown in on my to-go order. You'll also be welcomed by the affable and generous owner, a Bronx native, who will likely throw in a few "freebies" here and there to keep you coming back for more. But in the end, the quality of his pizza settles everything.

    (4)
  • Andrew W.

The Pizza and the Garlic knots are very good. Better than Pizza My Heart. Better than pretty much anyplace around. The Garlic knots are better w/o sauce and cheese. I still haven't quite figured out the pricing - but slices are $3 or $4 from what I can tell.

I've been on the lookout for a good pizzeria to handle the varying demands of my family. * Pizza means only cheese. * Pepperoni. * Eww. No meat. Veggie please (at other times, no onions, no olives...). I am happy to say that 212 NY Pizza fits my needs perfectly. It is a small, independently owner pizzeria which is always a plus in my books. The pies looked absolutely scrumptious and made for a perfect lunch. As the name indicates, it is a east-cost thin crust joint and is just what you'd expect from a neighborhood pizzeria. A simple, rustic, decadent meal. I'll be back soon.

  • jonathan h.

Awesome New York Pizza! It totally tastes like New York Pizza and they use all the right cheese. My only comment is that I wish they used a sweeter sauce, most NYC joints tend to use more sugar in their sauce and this one is slightly less sweet than I prefer. The folks are friendly and service genuine. My favorite slice in the area!

    (5)
  • Andrew Q.

The customer service was very welcoming and friendly. I thought the pizza was pretty good and authentic, with great crispy thin crust. He threw in a free garlic knot with each slice, which was nice and they were yummy. I also had a piece of pecan pie which was well above average. I would say Slice of NY is a little better, and Vito's is about the same level as 212. On the downside the pizza was a little on the greasy side, and parking can be hard at lunch time in the plaza.

    (4)
  • Rob C.

top notch service combined with friendly, customer-oriented personality. good pizza too. can't go wrong here. tried their large slice ny style thin crust margherita, and the ingredients were fresh. cheese/sauce was good. crust not too doughy, or extra crispy. the 212 combination ingredients a bit more mundane. the garlic knot dough stood out, and the mini cannoli nice.

  • Josh P.

I love their Sopranos pizza. White sauce+chicken+mushroom+garlic = perfecto! I had some of their combination pizza today as well and those were really tasty too. Oh and they also gave me free drinks and garlic knots. Real fun guys, real good food, real chill atmosphere.

want New York style pizza? this is the place to go! my sister, her boyfriend, my cousin and i were headed to the Sharks game and needed a quick meal. well, we heard a lot about this place and it definitely met my expectations. the pizza is genuine New York style; big slices and as flat as it gets. three of us only had one slice (including me) and were full off of that. plus, Marco is the man (and yes, he's actually from New York)! if i lived or worked in the South Bay, i'd probably be a regular there. cheers to 212 Pizza.

Reasonably authentic NY pizza. We loved it when they first opened, but they seem to have gone downhill a bit. Over the last year, we've switched to Slice of New York.

A few days ago, we got a little postcard in the mail advertising authentic NY pizza.....I'm SO happy we didn't just toss it into the recycling bin and forget about it. I'm pretty skeptical about pizza places claiming to have anything close to east coast pizza. Generally I just roll my eyes at the claims after tasting said pizza and tell the Man we need a trip back east. Sure, there are a few halfway decent options around here, but nothing is really anything like NY pizza...However, we stopped by today for their grand opening, had a couple slices of pizza and ordered two medium pies to go with garlic knots smothered in sauce and melted cheese. Surprise!!! Yeah, Marco knows how to make NY pizza in Cupertino, CA!!! Unbelievable! Delicious!!! You have to try it. Seriously! I'm not a big clam person, but the man of the house had the Badda Bing with the addition of onions and said it was quite possibly the best pizza he's ever eaten. I ordered a meatball, mushroom and fresh tomato which is quite definitely the best pizza I've had West of the Mississippi. Marco is great, he's a friendly guy with a lot of passion for what he's doing. TRY 212 New York Pizza!!! Just try it. You may find your little slice of home on Homestead in Cupertino! I'm loving the location of where we live more and more every day. My dog and I may have just established a new walking route.....with a quick lunch pit stop at 212 New York Pizza!

Drove around aimlessly in a rainy night with a friend until we stumbled upon this gem. Staff and service were fantastic--friendly and threw in free garlic knots (really really good) and drinks cause it was our first time. Pizza was crispy on the edges, yet foldable at the tip in true new york style. touch of herbs and judicious use of olive oil made great flavor. Jokes about NY are on the house. Great, authentic place.

Tried this place out because of the other reviews. They're all spot on. I've been around the country and tried a lot of different pizza. I have a big appetite, any of those wimpy pizzas from round table or pizza hut I can devour a large on my own, I was stuffed and satisfied after two slices of this pizza. I forced myself through the amazing lemon bar because I tried a taste and decided it needed to be consumed immediately even if I was asking for a food coma afterward. The service was perfect, delivery was on time and the phone order happened quickly. This is going to be my go to pizza place while I'm within their delivery area.

I'm all about supporting the local pizza places, especially when it's good. Man, this place is really good! A bit on the expensive side, but you certainly get what you pay for. The Don Corleone is very good, and it's pretty hard to screw up Hawaiian. The crust is also on point, which is usually a pretty significant fail by some pizza places. Garlic knots are also awesome! Owner is great; customer service is on point. Would come back again.

Great spot. They go a little overboard on the New York kitsch, but these guys turn out some great food... I opted for the stromboli on a recent visit. Their house version consists of steak, peppers, onions, and cheese. A large bowl of olive oil-topped marinara comes on the side. The portions are huge for the price; an absolute steal for $9... I was fortunate enough to overhear the owner telling his story to a salesperson while I was there. He earned his stripes in pizza kitchens in New York, and followed his wife to California. He was set to return back east when the opportunity to open this place occurred, and South Bay residents are all the better for it. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, too, and doesn't seem afraid to give out free garlic knots to people who engage him in conversation. Definitely worth checking out...

Had a lunch meeting. Called in at 12, then had my pizza delivered by around 12:40pm. We didn't open up the pizza boxes until after the conference call, but maybe the aromas helped us finish our meeting sooner? The owner was great! He wrote a handwritten note on the "something extra" he gave us to ensure we had enough food we had for all our meeting participants. We ordered a Chicken Pesto, Indian Veggie, and Jalapeno Veggie. Everyone was stuffed with 1 slice left. The pizza was pretty tasty, but the crust was a bit too thick for me. Maybe it's just my personal preference. Definitely recommend for delivery and lunch orders.

I'd just like to say. The owner is one of the most friendly people I have ever met and his pizza is delicious to kick. The atmosphere is great and you get free garlic knots sometimes. It's also not crowded even though it's and awesome place. Highly reccomend

SUPERB service! I had left my wallet at 212, and Marco left a note at my house to tell me he'd found it. How many owners would go out of their way to be so nice? Their pizza and wings are quite enjoyable as well. These guys deserve your business!

This is a review by a vegetarian They sell slices as well as whole pies. Every pizza place should. $3 per plain slice including tax. A slice is pretty large. The end crust is dry and the there is a little too much chewy cheese for my taste. It's fine and good as a lunch stop but it's not crave-able destination pizza.

If you want to have a real american pizza this is the right place...I can definitely say this is the best in the bay area.....I would recommend people to try this pizza..

The employees are extremely nice, and the food is amazing. I could make a meal of the garlic knots alone!!!

Awesome pizza place... don't forget to get some cannoli from there.

Tasty, and so carb-o-licious. The people are super nice, I'm not really sure what's up with the yelpers that are saying he isn't from New York just because he "doesn't look like that". Um ok people....like people from New York all look the same. The garlic knots are delicious, and totally different from A Slice of New York. Both are equally awesome in different ways. These are "daintier" more lady like garlic knots. Pizza is good too. Atmosphere is nice, and people are friendly.

So we've been coming here for months now and this is easily and by far my local spot for awesome pizza! The atmosphere has really grown on me. While at first I thought it was small, not it's quaint and I love how it feels like a mom/pop shop and so warm. The place is ALWAYS clean, well put together, the kitchen looks fresh and it's really cozy. It is simple and yet homey at the same time. Great feel! The food is always good. The pizza always ranges (we just get by the slice) and I have never has something I didn't like. From pepperoni, to a combination to the fancier ones - they are all super good, fresh, filled with flavor and oh so good. Recently I tried one with pesto, artichokes, chicken and mushrooms - OMG so good! Paired with their fantastic garlic knots I'm always left full and happy. Good pizza! The service is amazing. The owner is friendly, attentive, remembers us and just makes the experience. He goes out of his way and it shows by all the happy faces and quality of pizza. The other staff members are equally as great, outgoing, willing to help and really fun to chat with. Long term this place has turned into a great local spot with great pizza and great service. We will definitely continue to be excessively full here!

The service is outstanding. The pizza is also very good. It is NY style pizza - thin large slices. The garlic knots are ok - they are dry, whereas Colisseum Pizza in Milpitas has them soaked in olive oil & garlic. We had plain cheese, the Indian vegetarian & the margherita. They were all great. We'll be back.

This is a great stop for pizza. Food is well priced and tastes great. Service was good. Definitely recommend this place.

Their pizza is tasty, no doubt about it. I thought Slice of New York had the only quality thin crust pizza in the bay. I stand corrected. Although I would put it a notch below, it still delivers on quality and taste. I ding them a little as their joint is in a crowded strip mall and leaves much to be desired in terms of a pizzeria. Also, a bit pricey.

Such unexpected, fabulous service here. Our first time here today and they really made us feel quite special! It really is a place that you would make your local pizza joint b/c of how welcoming the people are here. I would rate the pizza a 4. It was a tad oily for my taste (but I think it was olive oil?), but I did enjoy my margherita pizza. The tomato sauce and the cheese was just right and tasted fresh. I enjoyed the crust, although I think the bottom could be a bit crispier. It was a little overwhelming with the garlic , but it did make the pizza quite tasty. As others have mentioned, the garlic knots are a great snack. They even give you a frequent buyer card and there's a TV in the spot too!

This place is now under new ownership. The pizza is just not the same. The dough was just better before, and overall the pizza was much less greasy. I got a stomach ache after :(

Wow, have a craving for New York Pizza? Come here! My fiancee is from New York and every few weeks she gets crazy cravings for NY style pizza and we've searched all over the bay area for something that is reasonably priced and fairly authentic. First off, they sell by the slice and whole pies. I've never had the slices, but they seemed reasonably priced. The pies can cost you, but it's not any more than any other standard gourmet pizza place. Just don't expect $5 like Dominoes. Having said that, the pizza here is amazing. The dough is just like what you expect from NY pizza, the toppings are great. The one thing that's different is the cheese doesn't seem to be crazy greasy and stringy as standard NY, but I think I'm okay with that. The guy here is great. He's super chill and talkative. If you're waiting for your pizza, he'll give you a drink on the house or some garlic knots.

Garlic knots with mozzarella and tomato sauce smothered all over - new FTW treat that will definitely fill you up before even starting on your pizza!

MUST GO!!! We were recommended this place by a friend and without a doubt we'll be coming back to this Pizzeria again. The Service/Establishment: Great!!! the owner is very friendly and from the get go made us feel like he knew us from ages. The place is very clean and nice... although it is small but I don't doubt that he'll be moving soon to a bigger place. The Pizza: We had a pepperoni and fresh basil. It was good but a bit salty, but it was the pepperoni because we had a taste of a cheese pizza and it was great. The sause was just right and the cheese was great too. I do preffer a little more tangyness in the sause, but that's just me. We had the garlic balls with marinara and cheese and they were one of the greatest things I've ever had! absolutely loved them! Although I may not have ever been to New York, I am sure it's very similar... We'll definitely be coming back to them again!

This is simple ok. The pizza is amazing - its New York pizza, its cheesy yummy goodness that I'm thrilled I only have to go 2 blocks to get instead of 3000 miles away. Marco is awesome, the place is clean, ohh and you MUST try the garlic knots...like really, you have to try them.

First of all I like to understand the type of pizza slice I'm getting - I'm not going to North Beach Pizza for a New York slice or 212 New York pizza for a SF style slice. Too many reviewers are expecting something based on misguided expectations. In the NY slice category this place is second to none in the Bay Area. (I give it a tie with Arinell Pizza in the City.) It's got the unmistakable New York flavor that combines the sauce, cheese and crust in a certain way that, for whatever reason, is rarely duplicated off the East Coast. To bad it's so far from my house; otherwise I'd be there twice a week, minimum. Props!

2 x medium pizzas for $36.50 is out of control. luckily, i had a $15 for $30 coupon that i purchased via yelp but, still, even at that price it was hard for me to see the value at $10.75 per pizza - especially when it's thin crust. taste wise, the pizza is good but, still not special enough to justify the pricing.

I have this friend from Boston, he always telling me how California sucks because of loitering people and because of fake NY pizza. Even to this day I don't know what real NY pizza tastes like, but I think I just got a glimpse of what it is at 212 NY Pizza. First thing I noticed about the joint was that it's pretty small, which is a good thing because it probably wasn't a chain restaurant. The second thing I noticed was the pizzas. They were all at the counter in this glass box and I thought to myself, "Oh boy... What did I get myself into? Am I going to be eating this stuff?" But I wanted to eat some pizza badly because I'm getting sick of chain fast food places, so I decided to stick with it and just eat two slices. Originally I was just going to eat the first slice there and then take the second slice home. As I got into the first few bites of my first slice I thought to myself, "Wait... wasn't this cold pizza that was probably sitting in that glass box all day? So why doesn't it taste like reheated pizza?" After examining every single bite and comparing it to all the other pizza I had in my life, I was amazed... After being amazed I told the owners that I'll be eating my 2nd slice here. And we started to talk a little bit and the owners told me how this wasn't a chain and how this recipe has been in their family for over a hundred years. Then he told me the reason why pizzas these days suck is because of all the preservatives that are in the pizza these days. And because of those preservatives the pizza becomes super nasty when you reheat it. And I knew he was telling the truth because they reheated their pizza and it tasted nothing like reheated pizza. 5 stars for being one of the more honest pizza places around here, and another 5, for their customer service. I got an extra garlic roll, and a pinoli (i'm not to sure what its called) on the house, but it was desert, and that was really good also. This place is legit, I don't give out many 5 star reviews, but this is one 5 star review that I can give out with confidence. Definitely coming back here in the future and can't wait to see how it tastes fresh out the oven!

  • Benny L.

I had two slices of pizza here, and it was solid. Nothing special though. I have a feeling that a fresh made pizza -- rather than a slice that's been sitting there and re-heated in the oven -- is the best way to test the pizza out. They also put a garlic knot on each one. I wasn't all that impressed. But as others have mentioned, the service is out of this world. Marco and his crew are awesome, and also keep the place super clean. You can't help but want to patronize them for their friendliness, and that's why they get 4 stars instead of 3.

Fun decor, quick service provided by a extremely funny, friendly owner by the name of Marco. Tasty pizzas although a little heavy/salty on the cheese and seasonings for NYC style pizza, the portions are generous, small layout but still a great place to bring your family. Love the garlic knots. Extremely friendly service here.

Went here last night after reading the good reviews and I was not disappointed. We arrived and were basically the only ones inside the place. We ordered our slices and I mentioned it was my first time there so I wanted to try the garlic knots (since they are world famous). Since the guy said it was our first time he gave us two free drinks. Turns out all pizza slices come with a free garlic knot anyway (score!). So we sat down before we even paid, you can tell they value and treat the customer with respect there. The inside seating is small but totally works. It is nice that they have a hdtv and many places to sit, much more then it looks like before you enter. After waiting a few minutes the guy brought our pizza with the garlic knot on top. First up was the garlic knot, man they tasted just delicious, melted in my mouth! I ordered up a slice of pepperoni and it was delicious as well. You can tell they use good ingredients here, my pizza was full of cheese (no need to ask for extra cheese here!). The one bad thing is that the cheese tasted a tad rubbery but I think it was because there was so damn much on it! The guy at the counter was very nice asking how the meal was as he sang along with the music playing inside the place. I went up to order a slice to go for my date since it was so good. When we got home they gave us two garlic knots on that slice so we both got to eat another one! This is a great place to get pizza and I am definitely going here again in the future.

I hate to rate them two stars but they irritated me. It was my first time but my partner's second. He raved about what we call garlic balls and the pizza from his visit before. We order pizza and balls . We sat and sat and sat and sat and sat. I told him we could have gone home and ordered Pizza My Heart for delivery quicker than getting our balls!!!!! It took 20 minutes to received them and they were doughy. Others that came in after us received their. Mario finally brought them over and apologized. 15 more minutes came out and we got the pizza. I like pizza my heart better. 212 was just eh. I wouldn't go back again - Take another little pizza my heart now baby

Thanks 212 for bringing THE best pizza to the 408. Their slices are huge and their large (24$ for specialty) is plenty big for 4 starving guys after basketball. Their crust is thin like NY pizza but its still crunchy and hearty enough to withstand the hefty amount of cheese that actually makes its own significant layer and has awesome stretch factor! The first thing i noticed upon tasting is that their cheese is really quality mozzarella. Its really rich and has its own robust flavor and is nicely balanced by the acidity from their tasty pizza sauce. The first time, we got their meat special and i observed that they use real italian sausage that are imperfect enough in shape so that you know it was broken into small pieces by hand and not processed on some machine. In addition it had the color of real pork, not those oddly colored deep brown clumps that people associate with sausage thanks to fast food chains. Finally, they are delicious. The second time we went we got the hawaiian pizza and i like how in addition to canadian bacon and pineapples, they also add coconut shavings. I mean, what an obvious pairing that is only realized when people break out of the box! Love it. Finally, the atmosphere is really laid back and friendly. The owners are super nice and gave me and my friends free soda for looking like students. While you eat you also get to watch the workers stretch out pizza dough. Pretty sweet. 5 stars!

Ordered online and wow within 45 minutes (DING DONG) The pizza we had was the Soprano... WOW boy was I blew away... I wouldn't say it's the best pizza I've ever had but definitely top 3... I've been around the world and ate pizzas everywhere, this is a place worth noticing. Definitely give it a try if you guys haven't tried it yet. Closest possible to NEW YORK pizza and we are all the way across the country here in the Bay Area... I highly recommend coming here!

Wow! This place is amazing.... One of the best NY pizzas I have ever had. Keep in mind I have only had NY pizza actually from NY once but, this place is delicious. The garlic knots are the best I have ever had. The place is a bit small and crowded but worth it. The staff is awesome and the place is clean.

Drove by here while working and thought me like pizza. me go there. Stopped by and got a slice of cheese and a combo slice. Marco the owner threw in 2 garlic knots for free. The pizza was pretty damn good. Not saying it's the best I've ever had, but definitely good. The garlic knots were bomb. The prices were good too, all that food plus a drink cost me about 8 bucks. Not too shabby. Also, Marco seemed like a pretty cool and legit guy. Asking me if everything was good and throwing in the knots like that. I do like it better than Slice of New York, i just wish it was closer

I have searched for good pizza, for my troops at work, and of course they are picky, or ask them and they say they are pizza connoisseurs... Marco, the owner, is very personable, friendly, and really is from New York! So knows what it takes to make some real 'New York Style' pizza! (personal favorite of mine) Marco has delivery/catering too which is doubly nice, because who has time to pick up anymore? Prices are reasonable... and he always has some kind of deal going on each day'/week... So, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the verdict is in, and I can stop looking now! Yay! Yeppers, I will be using them again... personally and professionally! Thanks Marco!

Pizza is good, service is great, but the price is high. I would come more often if it wasn't for the price. Up there with Pizza My Heart, higher than Dominos and Pizza Hut (which I don't like).

Oommm nom nom Can't talk, eating. Sooo good. Marco- supernice, heated up a couple slices o combo for me and threw in free a couple garlic breadrolls. I definitely dig the flamenco background music. Seems most retaurants play rap or Kenny g these days. Overall boo yah.

I brought my whole team from work here for lunch, and 212 didn't disappoint. We called ahead to order and he set up tables so by the time we got there, the garlic knots were ready and the pizzas 2 minutes from slicing. My whole team ate pizza, laughed, smiled, and loved it. Even the picky eaters were pleased. Thanks, 212! I'll be in New York this summer wishing the pizza there was as good as in Cupertino. ;)
