I am a huge fan of The Banshee. Everything on their menu is so tasty! And I have tried almost everything. A few of my favorites items are the Bacon Mac n Cheese (It's to die for!), Fried Cod Tacos, and the Pulled Pork. They have good beers on tap as well as a full bar. The seating can be scarce depending on the time of day, but you can usually find a spot to grab a beer and a spot to stand if too crowded. If you haven't been here you have to check it out. It is a small bar with great food and a cool atmosphere.

Good atmosphere, prices, drinks and especially food. The bacon onion jam burger and the fish tacos are tied for my favorite.

I like this place, in it's niche. They have some really tasty and indulgent burgers, though somewhat over seasoned. Good beer menu and a friendly staff. I've heard great things about their mac and cheese, though haven't gotten to trying it yet myself. -1 star for being dark, cramped and a bit dirty.

Great food for great prices. everything on the menu is really good but a few of my favorties are the Philly cheese steak sandwich, the Reuben, and the fish tacos. A little small but great for a beer and good meal. A little tight during busy times, but usually you can join a group at a table or find your own in the back.

Tacos were the bomb & bloody Mary is to die for...fish & chips is second to tarter sauce & Lauren really helpful :-)

As a Chico local, I am used to cheap beer and drinks, so the Banshee is not my first choice as far as a bar goes. Their drinks are expensive and the place gets sooooo loud and dark in the evening. (not the good loud or dark) That said, I still end up there every so often. In these times, my drink of choice in vodka-cranberry. But then there is the food...which is some of the best bar food ive had. The fish tacos are awesome, but my favorite is the pulled pork sandwich. It's juicy, spicy, and delicious. I have never taken someone there to eat who hasn't been impressed. It is also a good place to watch sports if they have the back room going. They have a projector and multiple tvs. And they will blast the sound during major games.

Look at the rating of this place and the amount of consumers that rated it! Must be doing something right. I agree with the rest of you; 4.5 out of 5 stars. Awesome!

This place was an awesome find. Some friends and I were doing a small bar/restaurant tour of Chico recently and we stumbled on this place. Right off the bat, the place is clean and inviting. There were patrons seated at the bar watching the baseball game, all enjoying a beer, not being loud or obnoxious, which you can expect to find at most of the other bars in Chico. The service was really friendly and really quick. Our order consisted of 1 Coors Light, 1 Sierra Nevada, 1 Shot of 1800 and a Sprite and our total, before tip was $11. How on earth do you beat that? We didn't eat any of the food but all of the menu items looked delicious and more gourmet than what you would expect from bar food. I hope in the future that I am able to come back and have a beer as well as some dinner.

This place is delicious! Favorite burger in town, best fish tacos...I have never had a bad meal here. Things to be aware if however: the bar is extremly small, so it can be hard at times to get a seat. The bathrooms are not always the cleanest, and although the service isn't awful, I think it is best to remember this place is a bar first, and a restaurant second. I typically sit at the bar for lunch, because all of the bartenders are wonderful. This will be a great meal regardless of what you chose from their humorous menu.

Best food in Chico. I love the Black and Blue Burger and the Philly Cheesesteak. But the tall guy at the bar with the curly hair has the worse manners ever. If they'd fire him I'd give Banshee 5 stars. Also there are never any seats during busy times.

  • Jeffrey K.

I eat a lot. Their kitchen never disappoints. The food here tastes great and is not good for those on a diet (sissies). The food is consistently good. Try it. Their burgers made to order will satisfy the biggest appetite. Cheeseburger with bacon and an egg. Take that!

New to Chico and walked in the Banshee for the first time .Seemed like a cool place until my wife and I were ignored in an empty bar. Eventually the strangely cocky bartender served us .we finished our beer and left . Not a good vibe in that place. After several months had passed we decided to give another shot"maybe dude was having a bad day?" So ... We arrived at the banshee hoping for a better experience . Not so busy inside, 2 people behind the bar and barely any customers . They saw us walk in and the blatantly chose not to make eye contact. We sat down and waited for about 5 minutes while watching them chat, not even a " Be right with you". It was weird!!!I was a bartender for over ten years and never seen such poor customer service. Sure maybe they do have a good beer list and good food. But I will never know, by choice! The banshee has piss poor employees ! time for a fire and hire!! Wish I could give it negative stars.!!

Bummed out! Our ladies nights out have always ended at the Banshee for their awesome burgers they serve late night out the window. We walked down last night midnight as tradition to grab a burger before heading home & they no longer serve them! Totally bummed us out. Our tradition is lost. Bring back the late night burgers please. They were the best late night food in Chico!!!!

I am updating my review because the food is awesome. I am believing the next time I go in service will not be a damper on my enjoyment of their great beer and food, especially the hot wings :) -thanks WIll. B.

OMG. I am sitting at the bar sharing sandwiches with my friend and we are trying to decide if we should finish the pastrami bomb or the cheesesteak. This food is fabulous and the bar tender is so nice. This is my new favorite place. The garlic fries will send you over the top. Seating can be challenging but what ever you do don't give up. Tooooooo good.

  • M C.

Decently priced drinks, but I go for the mac and cheese. SO good. It's definitely a dark and busy bar though, so don't go there thinking you'll have a nice dinner and drink.

Pros: Great pub atmosphere, STAND-OUT delicious food, great selection of specialty beer and other booze, and every single time I'm here (which is a lot) I say, at some point during the night, "I love this song! I love the music here." It's the place to be. The late-night food window outside is a summertime staple. Cons: Never enough seating, dark creepy bathroom, and if you order a sandwich or burger, your options for a side are cole slaw or potato chips. You have to pay extra for fries or a salad, and I've always thought that's slightly ridiculous.

The service was good and the beer was great but the food was not. I got the portobello burger and my boyfriend got a normal burger. His burger was over spiced and dry. Don't know how you can mess up a burger so bad that my boyfriend doesn't like it, that's a first! My portobello burger was okay, but both of our dishes weren't made the way they were ordered and had to be brought back. If our waiter wasn't so nice they'd be getting one or two stars.

Review based on Sports Viewing ____________________________ I was very impressed with the speed of service if you're sitting in the second room with the projector. That was by far the highlight of the experience. The server was always available to place an order, and she would return with them within 2 minutes MAX. The food is on the good side of okay. The burgers, though flavorful, are extremely salty. The wings are so-so. Seating is sparse, the benches are not very comfortable, and a couple of the table's height are set lower than the benches, which makes for awkward ergonomics when eating. Other than that, a solid place to watch sports. I ordered 12 wings, and 6-7 beers and got out of there for like 30 bucks. Can't go wrong!

I'm from SF and have moved here to attend nursing school. With that said...I love to go to bars, restaurants, lounges, etc and eat great food!!! My friends have created a "bucket list" of sorts with places to visit here in Chico. Banshee was on that list. As of last night...it's been done. I really enjoyed it!! I went to the bar and asked for a "cape cod", the bartender new what it was and made it perfectly. I was slightly disappointed that the happy hour didn't have a better selection...hence the 4 stars. I ordered the fish tacos. They were amazing!!!! My friends ordered the goat cheese quesadilla and the mac and cheese. I tried a little of everything and was quite pleased.

THIS IS A PRETTY DAMN GOOD BAR! THE FOOD IS GREAT AND IT HAS A GREAT ATMOSPHERE! Sorry, didn't mean to yell. Its just that its almost impossible to have a conversation in this bar. Perfect for taking a date if she's dumb as a brick and you just want to enjoy her visually without attempting a conversation. For those that enjoy a good conversation, probably not the place. Its usually packed in here, so standing room only. The bartenders are pretty good at spotting customers trying to order a drink three rows back. Drinks are moderately priced and made properly. Go in for lunch and enjoy some food worthy of a top notch restaurant. It has the typical Chico bar bathroom situation. A missing mirror and broken sink with only the hot water knob working. Not sure if it takes an engineering marvel to fix this, but its been that way for almost a year. All things considered, its one of the better downtown destinations.

  • KJ N.

I cant say enough good things about the Banshee. The bartenders are incredibly nice and quite tolerant. It gets crowded and seating is rare, but that speaks volumes of the quality of food, drinks, and service. I moved out of Chico last week and leaving the Banshee was almost as hard as leaving my friends... Huge thanks to Paul, Sebastian, Adam, Nick, Aubrey & Monty for contributing to the experience every time I walked in the door. Saying I love this place in an understatement- please open one in San Diego! :) Also, eat a fish taco (or 3) for me. You won't regret it.

  • Chelsie H.

I absolutely love this place! I love the food and the bar atmopshere! When I have people come to 5th Street Steakhouse (where I work) and ask where to go in a non-college atmosphere I send them all to The Banshee! Thank you to the entire staff!

  • Nadine G.

I love the banshee but I loved it more when they were doing the late night burgers!!!!!

    (2)
  • Kerri S.

As far as bar food is concerned, The Bansh is the place to be. They have a simple menu packed with some delicious options. Some of my favorites include the roasted vegetable quesadilla, pulled pork sando, pho, fish taco, and of course the mac and cheese. They always make stiff, delicious drinks at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is great and I don't feel old when I'm there, which is a HUGE plus. They also have dice and people who enjoy playing dice while very very drunk so it's easy to make a few bucks..

  • Mishaela B.

I have now been here several times (I visit Chico every once in a while.) and every time the food is incredibly tasty, perfectly prepared and promptly served. This may be a bar, but they do NOT serve bar food. IMHO, the food served at this establishment is closer to a great steakhouse/seasonal restaurant. The Bleu Burger is to die for, but I've also loved the simple Salt & Pepper Burger, and a quesadilla with vegetables and goat cheese I had some time ago. The french fries are thick cut, which usually means they will either be hard as rocks or limp and greasy. Not so! Perfectly crisp on the outside, nice and soft on the inside, no excess grease. The only thing that seems to be inconsistent is the coleslaw, but that's an easy enough fix... :) I prefer darker ales and the Samuel Smith I had last time around was very nice. The bartenders are almost always there when you need them, not when you don't. The whole staff seems to feel very at home there even off duty--we chatted with several of them--which usually indicates that either their drinks are free or what I prefer to believe, that they like their jobs. A happy cook is a better one, so...it matters. That's hard to find these days. The Pho and the Macaroni and Cheese was highly recommended to me yet again last time I was there, so that's what I'll be ordering next time.

I usually go to Burgers & Brews but since they were closed went to Banshee instead. So happy we did, the food was awesome! Best Blue Burger and best Mac & Cheese with Bacon I've ever experienced!

  • Mike H.

I first tried fish and chips in Santa Cruz, on the pier. I thought it would never get more fresh. The baja fish tacos are by far the best fried cod i have ever had! Greater then great for their food, never really tried the bar, other then when I can barely remember. Somewhat loud when its full, if you head for the back tho, you can hear a little better while your enjoying your food, which yes, you will be enjoying.

  • Duane H.

Ok... something of a dive... but not hardcore. Local working bar that just happens to server very good food. Currently the best burger in Chico, IMHO.

  • Ashley P.

Best place for some comfort food in Chico! Can not go wrong with the Mac n Cheese or the Burger. Good vibe and the beer list is enough to keep me going back. The earlier you go the better because it fills up fast!

  • Rachael R.

I am updating my previously harsh review because the owner/manger took the time to address my concerns, which is very rare today. I greatly appreciate them taking the time to consider my complaint about split checks and no ATM machine, both of which they remedied. The food as I reported earlier was top notch and so were the party's drinks, so now the place certainly deserves 5 stars. It is refreshing to see a fellow business owner who cares about the customer experience enough to address specific concerns.

  • Carrie W.

Awesome food - it's in a bar, but not bar food. BBQ Pork, fish tacos, mac & cheese, philly cheese steak = awesome, all of them. I generally eat here for lunch as it gets super loud later in the day/evening.

  • Angela M.

Decent selection of beers, great drinks, good food (Yay, Fish Tacos!!!), and generally low-key fun. It's also nice that there's a good mix of people here most of the time. I long ago aged out of the college bar scene, and there seems to be a few places in town that cater to "older" folks but not much in the middle. (Duffy's also comes to mind for a good mix of folks, but the Banshee is a little less, um, grungy. Not that there's anything wrong with that in the right mood, I'm just saying.) This place fits the bill perfectly. Comfortable place to meet friends for a drink or drag my husband for a beer and tacos. They also have games behind the bar, although I find my backgammon performance degenerates quickly after a few drinks. Still fun though.

  • Brandon P.

The fish and chips as well as the macaroni are awesome! It does feel a little dark and small but other than that the people are friendly and the service is great!

  • Birgitte G.

This is the best place in chico for food, service and drinks! They know what they are doing here. Billy is super friendly remembers everyone as does all the bartenders and bouncers. Keep it up guys! I hope you open a second place soon!

  • Frances W.

Popped in for a beer whilst randomly meandering the streets of downtown chico. Wish I hadn't already eaten lunch, the pub fair looked great! Ill have to go back for the food but the bar was great looking, I am a fan of black brick and red leather and high ceilings. The bar tender and waitress were friendly and accommodating to my large in announced group in for a spot of day drinking in the back.

  • Anthony E.

Way cool place, I'd come here any time any way!

  • Bri R.

Two menu items that are a must: The fish tacos and the Philly cheesesteak. Oh man!!! I am not a huge fan of either of those items but after my brother suggested those I knew they must be good. The fish tacos are very generous, the slaw and special sauce is incredible. To top it all off they offer a side of fresh sliced jalapenos which are my fav!! I suggest asking for the secret green sauce (tip from the bro). Now on to the Philly. The roll it was on was so toasty and buttery it melted in my mouth. Meat, cheese, mushroom, onion and bell pepper were all cooked nicely (not soggy and chewy like most). What amazed me was this place was so deceiving walking in. Its your typical college town pub but definitely cleaner and nicer than most. Check it out!!!

  • Christy H.

This is a great bar in Chico. It isn't flooded with dumb bro's and sorority chicks like a lot of other bars. I grew up in Chico and whenever I visit my family I usually hit this place up. They have a great beer selection. Prices aren't dirt cheap like some other spots downtown but maybe that helps keep out the rif-raf. They have a more extensive food menu than the last time I was there. I ordered a burger. It was awesome. Super juicy an the bun tasted homemade. Good soft bread. The toppings were a little weak . It came with pickle, onion, and lettuce. All other toppings were a dollar a piece. Burger was $8 standard. I had the Ovillo beer from Sierra Nevada. It was super smooth! They also have extended the inside and have a cozy back area of seating.

Good service. Good drinks. Nice decorations. Good for football nights Overall nice bar

    (5)
  • Carly G.

SUCH good food (pastrami bomb with garlic fries is a MUST). We like to take out of towners there because it doesn't get too crowded during the afternoon. Night time is a different story, it's usually loud and packed and hard to get a table, but if you do- a good time is ensured. They play awesome music and the staff is quick and helpful. Love the Banshee! * It is REALLY loud, even when it's only half full. So if there are any hard of hearing in the group, better off going somewhere a wee bit quieter (or ditching them).

    (4)
  • Jim Y.

First time at Banshee...Had some good food and watched several football games on the numerous TV's available. Will make that a stopping place when in town.

  • Patrick W.

Great Ambiance! The place is built like a faux pub and plays all sorts of music (some times at deafening levels). With a wide variety of drinks and some tasty grub I highly recommend checking this place out. I will note that I received terrible service the last time I showed up. The waitress basically ignored us, then because we wanted to order appetizers and drinks, she handed us our bill before we got our food or drinks. My friends and I were planning on opening up a tab and spending a few hours catching up, but the waitress gave us a hint that we were not welcome to do so.

  • Kirsten M.

Best bar/pub food in Chico, hands down. Love the Irish pub atmosphere, and the food is some of my favorite in downtown. I recommend the reuben, cheese steak sandwich, or a burger any way you like it (cheese skirt, fried egg, grilled onion, peanut butter: yes, that's good!). Great for lunch after a day of classes. I'll definitely miss this place when I leave Chico.

    (5)
  • Wendy P.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chico. I only go there for lunch because even at lunch it is hard to find a place to sit. My favorite go-to dishes are the Mac & Cheese with Bacon and the Fish Tacos. It is a great once-a-month place to splurge on calories. I also love that they almost always have soccer on at least one TV. I would have given it five stars but 1. They don't have Shock Top beer, 2. Our waitress yesterday was the worst, 3. There is one bartender that seems really annoyed all the time, and 4. Never enough seats. That being said, it's still on my top 5 list. :)

    (4)
  • Henry W.

The pork bahn'mi was the special the last time i went in and it was absolutely delicious. Normally I do fish tacos but I decided to switch it up, it was a good decision. The Banshe is my favorite spot in Chico; the food is well priced for what you get, they don't play shitty pop music, and the atmosphere is the right amount of dark. All of the staff is awesome but on my last visit I was served by Kamry, she was very attentive and has a great smile.

    (5)
  • Kim S.

Great vibe. Nice atmosphere. If I come back to Chico... I'd definitely come back. Friendly!!

  • Esme K.

Really interesting and great decor, definitely more enjoyable during the day when it's not so crowded and loud. Food is pretty great, although I wish there were more vegetarian options. Good drinks, wish they had fresh mint on hand though for mojitos and caipirinhas. Service can be a bit questionable/surly, but the few solid employees they have make up for the few that are lacking.

  • Holly B.

One of my favorite places to eat in town! As stated before by other reviewers, it may be a bar, but they do not, by any means, serve bar food inside (exception is their exterior food window -late night fast food, NOT the same burgers) Favorite menu items are Fish Tacos -I've yet to find ones that are better, their cabage and jalapeños are so fresh, Baja sauce is just right, lime on the side, delicious every time! Mac 'N Cheese (ham)- it almost has an Alfredo taste to it, so creamy, cheesy and well portioned! Burgers- big, juicy and well seasoned on artisan bun, they don't serve it with any type of ketchup or mayo because it doesn't need it with how juicy they are and how fresh their produce is! I don't drink alcohol but they make an awesome Roy Rodgers-on the sweet side ;o) I usually order To-go, but their atmosphere is decent. Plenty of seating options for the space, great tall ceilings, amusing artwork, tvs, big tables, small tables, stools, benches, chairs, bar seating, window seating, lots of seating... usually very loud. Bartenders are usually busy, but take notice of my interest in making a To-Go order in a timely manner. They even sometimes offer me water while I wait, which is a big plus!

  • Chandler L.

Reading the reviews, I concur with the consensus. Amazing fish tacos, mediocre service. But we had dinner with 2 beers (at happy hour) for $23. You really can't beat that. Request: Add a porter to the draft beer menu!

  • Janelle S.

Love this place! During the day it's a nice place to catch up with friends and have some lunch. An early dinner is great as well since it tends to get crowded and loud at night! Their food is pub grub but a little more upscale than just a burger and fries. . It's not expensive if you're visiting from out of town, but if you're a college student, you might find it at the top of your price range. Well worth the money :) it turns into a bar scene at night with lots of people from in their 20's-40's. Great mix! They do have a couple tvs to watch some games throughout the day & night. They just opened a late night food counter on the outside so you can still get some of their great food after they've closed down the kitchen on the inside.

Clean environment, very friendly staff, good food, quick service, & unbeatable prices. First time here & I will definitely be back! Three beers & happy hour appetizers for 29 bucks!? This place is awesome! Thanks Banshee staff!!!

I have enjoyed the Banshee very much. My two favorite beers are always there, Youngs double chocolate stout and Bellheaven Amber. The service is great always welcomed at the door by either Josh or Billy. Bass is a great bartender and attentive to the bar the other bartenders are friendly and great. ( Cheeseburger is an awesome bartender) The food is really good too.

  • A. R.

a bit empty on Monday night, and the clump of patrons by the door were a little rude as I walked in, but the bartender saved the evening with his knowledge of vodka and the strong drink he made me once I chose a brand. I enjoyed the obscure mixed style decor. music was playing at a moderate level. brick walls, red and black paint, peeling and scraped in certain areas. giant metal ventilation structures over head. 5 subtle lighting sources with just enough lumination for my eyes not to hurt writing this. and nice solid wood tables. so I have to say, I think I could be creative here... I think I could have fun for a spell. check it out.

  • Kayla D.

Overall a very welcoming experience. Great size bar, but not too overwhelming. The decor is cozy, and the bartenders are friendly.. The food is delicious and they have a huge beer selection. It's a an older crowd, and by that I mean there aren't as many annoying drunk college students so it's a nice relaxing environment. I dig this place.

I have only been to The Banshee once, but I don't intent to go back. Just one of those places that's kind of pricey and didn't impress me, so why go? My friend and I split the Mac n Cheese. People like to call this dish the holy grail of mac n cheese. It's got all kinds of different cheeses in there and your choice of meat. It was kind of tasty, but really soupy. I sort of felt like I was eating a cheese and noodle soup. Flavor was good but overall I didn't love it. The atmosphere is loud and our table was pretty much butted right up against another person's table, to the point that they ended up talking to us a lot since we were practically sitting together. I also had a hard time getting refills on my expensive drink. They were really busy (it was about 3PM), really noisy, and not very attentive. I have heard that there are other things on the menu I should go back and try, but I really don't think it's worth the uncomfortableness of sitting with strangers and the price. It's pretty pricey.

This place is awesome. We came here to get some food and drinks while watching the Giants game, and everything was perfect. The food here is very good; it's like bar food on gourmet steroids. I got the bacon cheeseburger, and it was delicious; tasty meat, quality bacon, perfectly melted cheese and a great bun. The potato salad it came with was tasty as well. I tasted a couple of their quesadilla offerings and was very impressed. They have flavorful meats and cheeses, and know exactly how to put them together; their caramelized onions are bursting with flavor as well. Great beer selection. They have about 30 beers on tap and plenty of others in bottles. I got a pint of Sierra Nevada Crystal Wheat for $3.50, and a pint of Pabst Blue Ribbon for $2. I think these prices are a bit higher than the average Chico bar, but the food, the atmosphere, the cool bartenders and the plasma screen above the bar make it all worth it.

Love this place. Great food with a chill atmosphere. Although the Banshee is a bar, the food is definitely restaurant quality. Just tried their cod corn tortila fish tacos for the first time.. I ordered two leaving wanting another. Their burgers also give you a bang for your buck. Eating at the Banshee while in Chico is a must!

  • Judi S.

The Banshee is where I go to celebrate my birthday and the Mac-N-Cheese is my birthday gift! It's creamy and cheesy and completely indulgent! My boyfriend loves the black and bleu burger (which happens to be his birthday meal). What he loves about the burger is that they melt the bleu cheese on it when so many other places don't. I also really enjoy the Pastrami Bomb. I have eaten at The Banshee at least once a month over the past 2 years and have only been disappointed 4 times. Two of those 4 times was of no fault to The Banshee; I was trying something new and it ended up not being to my taste. The other two times was when I had ordered the Pastrami Bomb (1x the meat was hard around the edges and dry; and the other time the meat was too salty). For the most part I enjoy the food at The Banshee. We generally sit in the back and have always had great service from the waitresses. Although there are only a few tables in back, we've never had a problem getting a table; during lunch and dinner most people tend to eat and then leave so if you wait a few minutes you can easily grab table. It is a bar (although people still bring their kids there ???) and their selection of beer is great; both on tap and in the bottle! All in all I love this place!

    (4)
  • Kimmie M.

I love the Banshee. So much that I once came here for dinner and then came back the next afternoon for lunch and ordered the same thing. Whats good here? Everything. Pastrami bomb, Philly cheese steak, GRILLED CHEESE is the best you'll ever have, bacon Mac and cheese, the list goes on and on and on. Just don't burn the roof of your mouth on the hot goodness that is the Banshee's menu. I've done that way too many times. Grab some dice from the bartender and play some drinking games while you await your heavenly meal.

All I have to say is..... best fish taco's EVER

I went to the Banshee three times in the last week and had three very different experiences. Overall, I love this place though. I have been a fan since they first opened their doors. I moved away for a few years and it has changed a lot over that time. Over the last week I experienced the following: Friday night and was very busy I was greeted by two different friendly bartenders and I did not wait long at all for a drink. I tipped very well that night. On a Saturday for brunch when it was not seemingly that busy my friend and I were ignored for awhile before we casually as if we could see the food menu. We were met by a grumpy faced waitress and a "meh" attitude and some non-responsive muttered sentiment as she walked away from us. We decided we wanted our brunch to be happy and therefore we left and we went to Bella's down the street. New Year's Day, I sat at the bar and was promptly served drinks and delicious food. I had the roasted vegetables and goat cheese quesadilla that exceeded expectation. The bartender and waitress were both very friendly and attentive that day. Overall, I still think this is more of a bar than a restaurant in terms of service for waitresses and staffing during peak meal times. However, the food is delicious. The ambiance is fun and lively! The drinks are always well made and the beers are plenty in selection!

The Best Bar and Grill in Chico! The Best beer menu and most amazing food at a great price!!

The Banshee has a great bar! Love this place for a early evening drink, great lemon drops and specialty drinks! It is comfortable and relaxing atmosphere... and decent happy hour! The food is delicious, not the typical bar food, they have some awesome options like Philly cheese steak, burgers, and fish tacos... Overall, it losses one star because in comparison to other local bars the prices are a bit higher... but still a great place to stop in..have a drink and a snack... or watch some sports!

The Banshee has become really popular since I left Chico. They have made it bigger and extended the back with more seats and now have a pizza window that is open after 2am (something like $3-$4 cheese & pepperoni) which is priceless when thinking it might prevent a hangover. Ordered 3 top shelf drinks and paid about $15... not bad! The bartenders were friendly, but busy and I waited about 5+ min to order. At least now they have more spots to sit or stand. They also have some fun artwork up, but we noticed they drilled right through the pieces, probably due to theft, but not adding much to the value of the work. Overall, much improved!

So went to visit a friend in chico and i found this gem! i love irish and english bars...they typically have a better and more varied beer list. not many places have smickwicks and they do! bonus!!! especially since I just got back from ireland and was craving one!! they even had some good oregon beers on the list!!! woo hoo!! we ended up sitting at the end of a long table and ended up friends with the ladies at the other end. they had ordered wings and the queso dip and let me tell you....they are f*#%king good!!!!!!! great place! friendly people and staff!!! Order the queso...it will rock your world!!!! Cheers!

I love to be here. Hanging out, sipping a drink, ordering bomb food--their pho is divine as are their tacos. Fun atmosphere, relaxing...I think they may be seeing me in there for lunch today. :-)

Not a local. Vaguely remember stopping by last year. Let's try again this year! Hey, this place is pretty busy, that must be a good sign! Especially over the summer, with school out and all. What a nice doorman, thanks mister. Gee golly gosh, look at these drinks! And these prices! These drinks are basically free compared to SF! Whoa now, young fella, you're drinking shots like it's going out of style. But how can I blame you? SO DELICIOUS Oh boy, you're not looking so good. Perhaps you should take a seat. Maybe outside. Oh, that was graphic. Just...shot out of you...like you were fire hydrant. That was fun. Let's remember to get food next time. Instead of just a dozen shots.

Good bar, great basic food like burgers. Loud and friendly and very succesfull (many times I've found it hard to find a table to sit)

What everybody else said. Not cheap, great beer selection, great snacks. Loved the reuben bomb or whatever they called it. not sure why it was referred to as a dive, cuz god knows there are divier places in chico, but sure, not a club.

What a great place. First time I went was for happy hour and we got 6 beers between up for under $20, wasn't expecting good food, but heard some good things so went back for lunch, got the best blue cheese burger I've ever had, went again and got the best Mac n cheese. Very good variety of beers, but wow has the food been a great surprise.

Dark, swanky atmosphere. Killer menu and drink selection - its ALL good. Slightly more sophisticated crowd. Great music and they always have 'the game' on. Why 4 stars? A bit too cramped and loud for my style - at least on the weekends. Also, I have hard time giving a bar 5 stars. Dont hate, its just one of those things.

Probably my favorite place in Chico to go for a burger or a sandwich. I fantasize about the pulled pork sandwich there- sweet, juicy, slightly spicy pork over a large bun with a fresh, not too mayonaissey cabbage slaw. Yum! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. My boyfriend likes to get the Philly sandwich with steak cut fries on the side, which I, of course, steal from him. Great beer selection, friendly bar staff, laid back atmosphere. I take all of my out of town friends there to show them what Chico has to offer.

There fish tacos are amazing! A little pricy though!

You know when the tour guide at Sierra Nevada tells you to eat somewhere that the food must be great, and it was! Get the burger or bbq'd pulled pork sandwich and your taste buds will thank you, such delicious food. The dive bar environment isn't very impressive, and you'll probably have to fight a Chico State student for a seat but its all about the food at the Banshee.

  • anne c.

Best Lemondrops! And the food is really good. Probably my favorite place to go downtown for lunch. I only wish it were a bit bigger, sometimes its impossible to get a seat. But if you manage its well worth the wait!!

The Banshee became popular after I left Chico......This place is awesome. Admit-tingly, when I return to Chico and go to some bars, some places just make me feel old, but not the Banshee. This place is fun, has a mature vibe to it, and the food is actually really good for being bar food. I went against my better judgment and ordered a tuna melt while at a bar, but it came out delicious!

  • Julian T.

One of the top 5 restaurants in chico and definitely the best bar food.

    (5)
  • Allen B.

A small and often crowded bar with an awesome selection of beers on tap. It never seems to fail, every time I'm in the mood for a smithwicks, this place is packed! Went to lunch here a couple times in the past and was pleasantly surprised by the food. They have quite the assortment of menu items, from quesadillas to pulled pork sandwiches. I'm a little surprised that an Irish pub has a lack of Irish food. for that only 4 stars.

  • Mike B.

As far as places in Chico where you can grab a drink, eat some food, and watch some sports, this place has more beers, a way less douche-y clientele, better food, and bigger screens than other similar bars. I suggest eating: Fish Tacos (best in Chico, or greater North State area, for that matter), Philly Cheese Steak, Pastrami Bomb...aw fuck it everything here is good, you can't go wrong. Also, the bartender Mike is the shit, and not just because we have the same sick ass name.

Classic! Awesome bar food and a fun place to hang out and get a drink. It's noisy and crowded but on the right night it's perfect. Glad a place like this exists in Chico.

Saw the other reviews and figured I would try the mac n cheese. It wasn't as good as I though. It was better! Awesomeness covered in awesomeness topped with bacon. A dream with in a dream. The other food is good too. Point yourself in the direction of The Banshee and start walking now.

  • Jennifer S.

I just can't get enough of this place! I don't think there has been ONE time where I didn't like what I ordered. The burgers are out of this world, The Macaroni and Cheese is incredible and, even though I'm not a big Tuna Melt fan, their Tuna Melts are AMAZING! Late nights they have an outdoor window that'll serve you "Window Burgers" which rival even an In-n-Out burger. Their beer selection is pretty impressive, too. A must if you're visiting Chico for the first time and looking for some good grub.

    (5)
  • Dain S.

Since I don't drink, I only go for the food. The burger is one of the best, try it my way: Bacon cheeseburger - REQUEST MED RARE! Bleu Cheese Yes Tomato, yes pickles Side of mayo. Fries

Best food in chico. Hands down the bad thing about the Banshee is it's small and gets packed quick on weekends but it's good and everyone knows that. Philly cheesesteak is amazing!

    (5)
  • Jess J.

The Banshee is probably one of the best restaurants in Chico. The low lighting atmosphere sets the mood for a relaxing and fun time. Along with a giant list of beers available, they also have some incredible food. Everything I've ordered so far is delicious. Their fish tacos and Philly cheese steak sandwiches are amazing. They also have great burgers with quite a variety of toppings. My favorite is probably their pastrami bomb which overflows with not only pastrami, but flavor too. I highly recommend this spot.

  • Joanne G.

Over priced for what u get. The mac and cheese was very good but felt it could of been better as a side dish. My friend order a burger witch was ok. We also ordered 2 sodas and our bill was 30 dollars. On top of it all our waitress/bartender was very snooty, and we had to keep getting up to ask for basics(forks, napkins, refills, check, and boxes)

I loved the vibe of this place. We all know Chico is a university town. I'm in my 40s and sometimes feel disconnected in places that are frequented by kids half my age. This place was different. It was filled with young kids and some older folks but we all blended in and it felt the same. Nice energy and very good selection of Sierra Nevada draft beer.

    (4)
  • DeAnna M.

Good spot! Like the atmosphere, music and beers. I just wish this place didn't get so congested at night, it's hard to walk through or find a place to stand. Perfect for day drinking on a Sunday afternoon when it's a little less noisy or crowded. Try a Smithwicks!

    (4)
  • Nathan M.

A pretty good bar, especially if you seek a more mature late-20s type clientele. It stands closer to the classy side of the spectrum as opposed to the more dive-y bars that appeal to the younger crowd.

  • Nicole T.

I love The Banshee! When you walk in, it seems as if you are at a nice bar in a major city, not college town Chico. They offer a variety of beer on tap, and have delicious food. Try their fish tacos or macaroni and cheese! The reason why I gave 4 stars is because service can be slow at times, even when the place isn't busy. All in all, I recommend giving The Banshee a try!

    (4)
  • Laura M.

Great place! We went to have some beers and food. I wasn't in the mood for bar food, but I was wrong! This is not your typical bar food. I had the tacos, my boyfriend had the pastrami boom, and I just had to try the macaroni and cheese. Everything was great! The macaroni and cheese was so cheesy and delicious. My boyfriend eats here all the time and says that there is nothing bad on the menu. To top it off, the bartenders are very friendly! I highly recommend this place!

    (5)
  • Bill C.

Groovy place. My g/f and i frequent this place and eat tasty meals....but after dropping over $1000 in 2012, along with around $200 in tips you'd think at least a couple of bartenders would know our names...???

    (2)
  • Mary Ella D.

I dig the scene, it's kinda small, dark and handsome, you know? It's intimate but the music (which is sometimes decent) is so loud you feel like you're at Normal (barf)... anyway, the long tables make for a real, "Avaste ye matey!" kind of feel and there are very creative bathrooms: not only are the floors glittery but they have chalk to draw on the walls with! I give 4 (four) stars because it is expensive for Chico standards, but mostly worth it. Where else in the Northern California area can you get Strongbow on tap?!

    (4)
  • Nicole S.

Great staff always friendly! They will even cook something gluten free if you ask.

    (4)
  • Joseph A.

I would give this place 5 stars if it were bigger. It has a wonderful tap, great food and the atmosphere is appropriate for college to professional. The food is awesome but heavy. Go and you will like it.

As far as the banshee goes, I'm all about the hype. If you weren't such a fuckass and stopped blowing all ur $$ at rileys and the bear and ate here instead, you'd be way sicker. I guess I don't have to tell you about the food, the philly is the real deal and they always hook it up. The expansion has warranted a plethora of new menu items, including a tasty, aesthetically pleasing what-I-think-a-pulled-pork-sammich-should-look-like-pulled pork sammich.....dank. you can tell the menu is well developed, they have crazy shit you wouldn't expect at a bar like goat cheese with the steak quesadilla, its probably the fuckin only time i ever grub goat cheese. I fuckin respect that creative type of shit. they always have mad different import bottles, I like to make my Irish ancestors sqeam by ordering a boddingtons fresh from the tap. the bar tenders are always pretty cool, i've experienced slow service but for the most part they are friendly and will put on the a's game if you ask them. gets pretty fuckin crowded at the bar on weekend nights, but you also get to see gerad the fucking sports anchor guy on the news hangin out and drinkin so thats pretty fuckin sweet. good place to get sloppy on football sundays. they also put on pandora or their own music from their laptop, ive never attempted to request anything but its usually better than the fucking garbage they blast at other places.

  • Bianca L.

Amazing food, great bar atmosphere, friendly staff. There's so much to love about Banshee. The only negative thing I could possibly say about this place is sometimes at night the music is way too loud, and sometimes you just want to have a conversation with friends. But otherwise, this is my favorite place for lunch and an after work beverage.

  • Shali X.

The Banshee is great. They have my (current) favorite beer, Strongbow Cider, on tap as part of their huge beer selection; they always have sports on their 3 tv screens; the happy hour (daily from 4-7) is great - well drinks (in pint glasses!) for $3; and they have friendly bartenders who are always working hard. And, their food is awesome - the goat cheese/carmelized vegetable quesadilla is excellent, and I hear that their burgers are great. And, very nice, attractive presentation - not something seen very often with bar food! I can't give it a full five stars because it is often very hard to find a place to sit; as other reviewers have mentioned, there are two picnic-style tables along with the seats at the bar, and at almost any time of day, all seats are full. I can't fault the Banshee for that; I'm stoked that their business is doing well, but fair warning to all, you may have to stand around for a bit until someone leaves in order to get a seat. Kinda hard to eat a burger when you're standing around like a goon.

    (4)
  • Karen B.

Decent beer selection with a friendly staff. The food isn't bad either. The place can get annoyingly crowded on some weekends, especially when Chico State classes are in session. Check out the men's bathroom for some brilliant literary puns.

  • Erin M.

Definitely my favorite bar in Chico. Not the cheapest, but probably the best overall selection of beers and hard alcohol. The staff is friendly, and the food in ADDICTING! I can sometimes be a little slow, but once you get your mac and cheese, you wont care! YUMMMMM

Like most people here, I agree--the food is fantastic. No dispute. The problem I have with The Banshee is there is one extremely unpleasant bartender with dark wavy hair who refuses to speak or smile (I fear he may be one of the owners) unless absolutely necessary. I have avoided meals at The Banshee countless times because I want to enjoy my experience (imagine that) instead of having to deal with this miserable jerk. This is the typical pattern: he avoids coming over to ask if I need a menu or a drink, I attempt to politely get his attention, he finally comes over and stares at me without a word, I order my meal (which he doesn't write down), and he walks away without a word. When I get the meal, there's usually something wrong (maybe this wouldn't happen if he wrote the order down or repeated it back) and he walks away without ever checking in again to see if I need anything. Even when the bar is empty, he chats with the girls who work there or gets a drink for himself, but it's like pulling teeth to get him to do his job. Never a smile, never a thank you, never any display of politeness whatsoever. It's a shame, because this is otherwise a great bar and restaurant. Most of the employees are quite friendly, too.

  • Matt R.

The Banshee is a nice bar to go and chill with your friends. You should usually try and get a spot pretty early because the place gets packed. They opened up the back room a little while ago which helps mildly tame the crowd. The burgers and mac n cheese are awesome! I would recommend stopping by there takeout window if you are crusing by. They have great food for cheap.

Oh my gosh, the fish in chips are the best I have ever had!! NO JOKE! After I tried their fish and chips I went on a mission to find better, went to Capitola, not even close, Newport HAH!! Huntington beach..whack!! I think about the fish and chips atleast once everyday!! Cant wait to try their mac and cheese and burgers but everytime I go I just blurt out fish and chips! The bartenders are awesome! There is a positive energy and u just feel comfortable and laid back in the place! Hands down my favorite bar in Chico!! If you have not had their grub, you absolutely must!!

    (5)
  • Earl J.

Best fish tacos in town. Deep fried cod, cabbage slaw, and jalapeños with special sauce. The smoked chicken wings in a variety of sauces are killer, and the Philly Cheesesteak is the best in Chico. Great atmosphere, good bartenders-- especially Mike!

    (5)
  • Siobhan G.

I like to come to the Banshee on off days or in the afternoon to avoid the crowds, get a spot at the bar, and pretend like it's my own. You can sit for hours enjoying their great mixed drinks, variety of beers on tap, and some great food once you get that buzz going. The owners and staff are friendly, knowing many regulars by name/favorite drink. Everything on the menu is huge and great for two to share. Try the Mac & Cheese or the "offensively cheesy" Grilled Cheese with tomatoes and onions...perfect with your Sierra.

    (4)
  • Mark A.

Yikes, get the raw onions out of the walk-ins!!! The Mac and cheese was great but too hot, but the onion smell that wafts out of the walk- in needs to be addressed.

    (3)
  • Kodee W.

All the food is amazing! My fav in particular is the Mac & Cheese. It's carby, cheesy, heart clogging comfort food goodness. Two normal people can gorge themselves on a single bowl. Flavorful gooey rigatoni, covered with a crispy baked crust..I love mine with jalapeno! Only downside is that there isn't a lot of restaurant seating. However, it's worth fighting over a table. The owner is oftentimes there, patronizing his own establishment and mingling with the customers. He is a lively and charismatic guy, to say the least, haha! Really, worth trying out. Great quesadillas, fish tacos, everything. Great selection of brews to accompany your plate.

    (5)
  • Greg A.

I think I've tried everything in the regular menu. So far, the best thing I've eaten here is a cheddar Cheeseburger with a fried egg in it. The Fish Tacos are epic. The All Day Breakfast Sando a must. Do try the Tuna Melt. The beer selection is the best in Chico, in my opinion. Guys, after a few brews visit the bathroom stall on the right an add your favorite bathroom inspired movie or book title to the wall. Kid friendly until 8:00 pm.

    (5)
  • I. A.

Hands down the best bar experience while in Chico recently. If you are too young for the cemetery and too old for the bear ... well then the Banshee will welcome you with a warm smile. (I think this use to be Hey Juan's when I went to school there).

    (5)
  • Victor S.

    Try the philly or mac

    (5)
  • Taylor S.

I love the Banshee. Great atmosphere and amazing pub grub food. Best burger in town and I've been to Nobbies (which is great too). Drinks are a little pricey and they can use more staff. But I don't mind.

    (5)
  • Renee H.

Great food! Love the fish tacos, mac and cheese, and awesome, huge burgers! Great breakfast too. Not a cheap eat, but well worth it. Food seems to have gotten better within the last few months too- the kitchen seems really ontop of it lately, gets the food out quick and delicious. Service does usually suck, even for a bar, and its always crowded, but its totally worth it. Great clientele too, locals of all ages not frat boys and ditsy college girls. Go early or mid-day if you want to beat the crowds.

    (5)
  • Katharine E.

The Banshee is a pretty hip place to go on a Friday night! Their beer selection is unbeatable and the cocktails aren't much to complain about either! While its kind of expensive the Banshee is a better place to go for a quality drink rather than to get drunk! The food is good but lacking in Vegetarian options! Can be crowded and extremely loud! Pub quiz is always a fun night.

    (4)
  • Mat B.

If you're going out in Chico you're gonna either start or end the night here. Great food and music. Diverse crowd which is nice in a college town like Chico where you feel like a geriatric at most bars at age 23. Sunday football is a blast. Plan ahead for a long day...

    (5)
  • Albert G.

Best "pub grub" in Chico. All the food is good, especially the fish tacos. They have a great beer selection, bartenders are cool, place is fun. Just get in there before it gets crowded.

    (5)
  • Lucy L.

this is some great pub food. burgers are great, fish tacos, great. i love pastrami and this is hands down the best pastrami i have ever had. everything is worth a try. laid back, bar atmosphere, just a fun local place to visit. and yes, the late night walk up window burgers are late night amazing! they are not the same burgers inside, but are old style drive in burgers. YUM!!

    (5)
  • Charles W.

Hands down, my favorite place to eat in Chico. It's stupid and makes no sense, but the food is amazing. The Pastrami will change your life. I try and take a new person here once a week to experience the pastrami. I don't go there at night, so i cant really comment on what it's like as a bar, I only goo there during lunch hours. So why the 3 star rating when I feel it's arguably the best food in town? The service suuuuuucks. Sucks a lot. Sucks long and hard. On a good day, You'll get to sit at the bar, and the uninterested bartender will bring you your food and drinks without a word. If he doesn't have friends there that he is busy talking too, most of the time he will bring it to you in a timely manner. If the place is busy, and you have to sit at one of the tables. You're screwed. Once i thought I was at one of those theme restaurants where the wait staff is purposely rude to you and you're supposed to laugh and think it's funny. I can't emphasize enough how bad the service can be here. My wife and I went there for lunch on new years day, it was pretty busy. The waitress greeted us with "what". She took our order without saying another word. When she brought back our lunch (2 pastrami's) she dropped the trays from about 12 inches off the tables. Frys went everywhere. I ate them anyway cause that's the kind of guy I am. The waitress walked by once and my wife asked for refills. She didnt even stop walking, but cut my wife off and said "get them at the bar". After we finished our meal we waited for the check for 30 minutes. When I finally asked the waitress for it, she replied "get it yourself". I went to the bar, figuring the bartender would get me the check. The waitress was just standing behind the bar with her arms crossed looking all pissed about whatever it is waitresses get all pissed about. I'm guessing the waitress was hung over, pissed she was working new years, and decided shes hould be paid extra that day. So yes, even after that rant of mine, I still go there at a minimum of every other week because the food is so damn good. I'm an easy going guy and just shrug off the shitty service.

Great menu and excellent beer selection on tap with full bar. A bit cramped at night, but what bar in Chico isn't if it's worth going to?

    (4)
  • Martina R.

Order anything on the menu and I promise you it is amazing. This is the best bar food I have ever had. It is even better then some of the local restaurants. Mind you this is an irish bar, so it can get real packed and loud, so if you are going there just to eat I suggest going early. My favorites are the mac and cheese or the philly cheese steak is the best in town. They also get to go orders so you can do that and escape the crowd.

    (5)
  • Karen S.

This is by far one of my favorite bars in Chico. It reminds me more of a San Francisco bar than a Chico bar (although priced somewhere in between the two). It is smaller than your average Chico bar so on some weekend nights it becomes a little too crowded to be worth the more expensive drinks, but on most nights it is has an awesome, happy atmosphere. It usually doesn't draw in the really annoying wasted frat boys either which is awesome. I don't really have to worry about getting my ass palmed in this bar, haha. They have a large selection of beers on tap and make a really yummy stiff cocktail. The bartenders are all really nice and if its a slower night are fun to talk to. They DJ the bar with their laptops and often have on some kick ass indie music- I have heard Modest Mouse and the Shins on more than once or twice. Yay Banshee!

    (4)
  • Allyn P.

This place is almost perfect. Killer ambiance and great mixed crowd. A Guinness tastes just right out of their tap. My only complaint is that the play list, while eclectic, get way too loud (and high pitched I think the bartenders may be loosing some high end hearing) by the end of the night. I don't know if they do I on purpose, but it's definitely a con worth mentioning. That said, it's still one of my favorite dives.

    (4)
  • Sean M.

While I've never tried the food here, The Banshee is a great bar to go to for a drink. It can get loud and crowded on the weekends but the atmosphere is good and the drink selection is solid.

  • scott r.

Great place, very friendly staff and by far the best bar food in town. Who knew something as simple as mac and cheese could be so good! Can get a little crowded but what Chico bar doesn't. I also believe they are expanding into the building next door.

  • Adam M.

Great pub with a good selection of beers...for food I would stick to the quesadillas as they are awesome.

    (4)
  • Vito B.

great food for a bar menu . The service is slow and its hard to find a place to sit but after you have the fish taco or the mac you dont care about the service . The good news is after going a few times and getting to know the staff the service catches up to the food ..

    (4)
  • Kristin C.

Every time I think of this bar, I can't help but smile. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely not! The bartenders are all very friendly. You can easily have a great, interesting conversation with one of them even if you've never met before. The drinks are awesome, the food is better. If I died and went to Heaven, I'd like to think that they serve Banshee food there. The ol' standbys are fish tacos and the mac n' cheese. I'm getting so hungry just thinking about it, I think I'll pop over for a bite! Go here!

    (5)
  • Chris I.

Perfect location, right next to everything downtown. Really nice bar if you just wanna get a drink or two, definitely not the place to go rage. Also a good place to watch the game if youre into that. There are some nice big flat screens. Best part about this place--they have a couple of stouts on tap you cant find anywhere else in Chico. So if youre a fan of dark beer but not looking to get messed up tonight, go here. Good for small groups. I give it four cuz its got the right atmosphere for a slightly more mature croud.

I enjoy many tastes and qualities about food. Usually I go to the Banshee for drinks with friends late at night but yesterday I decided to go with a few of my buddies for dinner. Going it it wasn't two crowded and the environment was light and friendly. The food was a bit on the expensive side but I think it was worth it. I ordered a pastrami sandwich with some frys and a belhaven beer (for those of you who like good beers you must try a belhaven). The portions were perfect and the sandwich was no less than perfect! As we got closer to the end of our meal the bar had filled up with lots of people looking for a place to sit or park themselves at the bar. So if you want to get a seat you must have an eagle eye for people leaving or get there early. Other than that, two thumbs up!

Not quite 4 star worthy, the Banshee has a long bar with stools and a few tables on the opposite wall for seating. Found it to be a bit difficult though to stand and enjoy a beer as the area between the bar and seating was fairly narrow and is the only means of traversing to the back side of the bar. Good selection of draft and bottled beers, fair if not cheap prices. Overall solid bar.

The Banshee is quite small and fills up quick on Friday and Saturday (and Thursday and Tuesday) nights. But the intimate atmosphere makes it delightful for those not-so-crowded nights. I'm shocked when I hear people have never been there because this place was where the majority of my college years took place. So find a good bar buddy (Kristin, miss you!) and settle in for a great night. The drinks are above average for Chico, but worth every penny. The bartenders are nice to you if you're nice to them and are always fun to chat with. You can get loads of beers (Irish and not) from a selection not easily found in small towns. And the food, well, the food is great. I've eaten there countless times and only gotten a few things other than the fish tacos. I say this in all seriousness, I think about these tacos so often that I'm surprised I don't dream about them. They're just perfect. Since moving I've spent good money trying to find fish tacos even slightly comparable to these and have failed. I look forward to them every time I visit. Between the great fish tacos, strong vodka tonics and lovely people, it's EASY to give this place five stars.

The Banshee is easliy my favorite bar in Chico. Not only do they have great prices and a slew of great beers, but they have some of the best bar food in town.burgers, sandwiches, quesadillas, tacos. Really anything you order shouldnt disappoint. When you walk in, you almost feel as if you've somehow been transported away from the meth head strewn streets of Chico, and into an English pub. Its a good place to catch a game with friends or just have a good lunch.

SO AMAZING!!!!!! Love this new addition to Chico (not THAT new lol). I felt so bad because my fav place for a strong drink and good food used to be Panamas. So I went there during my visit this weekend and it just felt SO dirtly. We got up and left for the Banshee! GREAT drinks and the BEST dilla I have EVER had (goat cheese and veggies). The fries are SO good...needless to say we went back again the next night for round two! LOVE IT!
