Debbie is an extremely talented artist and baker, but an ATROCIOUS business woman!!! I have been to many events with her beautiful cakes, and decided to give her a call for a special event coming up. Not only did it take me over 5 weeks and multiple voicemails left for her to finally get a return call from her. But, she then informed me that she only works with a select group of clients and could only do me a "favor" by making a cake for me, but my party could be no larger than 20 people! To run a business in this manner is a disgrace. I will happily give my business to someone else!!!!

We hired Debbie for our wedding. I agree with all the reviews here. She's very talented and sweet. I liked that she would tell us what she liked and did not like when it came to the design of the cake. I even saw her the day of my wedding deliver and setup the cake herself.

AMAZING! That's all I can say!! Debbie is an artist a creator you name it. Most guests walking in thought it was the envelope card or dcor, some guessed right. Aside from the outside, the cheesecake itself was delicious. Most people when to dig up a slice of both favors. We took along with us the top and enjoyed a few bites of it. She offers to bake you a 1 year anniversary top, you just have to place the order a month in advance. Yay for no frozen cake!

Consider yourself to be in the lucky group if you're so fortunate to have Debbie create and design your cake for you. It's true that she is hard to get ahold, but she's essentially a one person operation. She has a set day to answer all her email and return calls. If you're patient and willing to wait, then you'll be blessed with her talent. My wife loved her when we first met for our consultation. She wasn't my first choice based on the cake tasting portion but she definitely made an impression on me. She had a great sense of humor and was very personable. What sold me finally was that she told stories of various couples and weddings she baked cakes for. No one else, during cake tasting, told stories and named the names of the brides and grooms like Debbie did. We sat around and tasted her cakes while looking at her photo albums of all the photos she took of her cakes. She told us stories about some of the cakes in the photos and remembered the names of the groom and bride. Her cake was not my first choice, only due to the fact that I prefer Asian types of cakes that are lighter in texture and contains less sugar. My wife and I chose her to bake our wedding cake. We gave her some ideas of what we wanted, which was a simplistic minimal clean look with buttercream, some fondant for design, and fresh flowers. We wanted her to make our topper but she suggested we hit up Etsy and have an expert create our topper. That turned out to be an excellent idea. Throughout the process Debbie was always available to respond to our questions via email. She made us additional mini cakes, on two occasions, to allow us to try other flavors she offered so we could decide on the 3 flavors we wanted for our 4 tier cake. We couldn't have been more pleased with the final design of the cake and the cake tasted fabulous. Everything came out the way we expected it would come out with her cake. She was so generous that she baked us a 6 layer cake for our bottom tier. Go with Debbie if you want to feel like you're part of her family. How many bakers do you know who give hugs and kisses? She was always so cheery around us and made us laugh with her funny jokes. For our flavors we ended up choosing toasted almond cake, pumpkin cake with cheesecake filling and chocolate ganache, and chiffon cake with raspberry puree and chocolate ganache.

Loveeeee Not Just Cheesecakes! Debbie is awesome! We got married in November and did our wedding cake with her. We visited twice, once to talk about the ideas and taste and another for tasting. I feel in love with the pumpkin cake! We got married in November so lucky it was perfect timing. I'm not a pumpkin person at all but Debbie promised I would love it. She made a sample of all the flavors we wanted; burnt almond & red velvet and she also decided to make pumpkin for us to try. I feel in love! I had to add it to the list! She made the cake exactly how I wanted it and we got compliments from all of our guests. Now we have a baby on the way and will def be getting our baby shower cake with her too!

It doesn't get better than this! I'm so happy to have found Deb! Yes, she is a bit difficult to get a hold of, so it can be a bit worrisome for the type A control freaks. But rest assured, she will deliver! And she will do it with a sweet smile and a beautiful and delicious cake in hand! I called Deb and left a voicemail regarding a cake for my sister's baby shower. She called back a few days later and we discussed flavors, guest count, colors and design. I went with the toasted almond cake with raspberry puree filling. After we got off the phone, I sent her some color samples and inspiration photos for the design. She did take some time to get back to me, so make sure you contact her early and allow at least 3-4 weeks before your "small" event. Wedding cakes are a whole different ball game. Once I emailed her again, she came back with a super cute design idea and quote for the cake. I was really pleased with her quote since I did have some comps and have ordered a handful of specialty cakes for my own wedding and other events. All her cakes are 3 layers so she later surprised me and emailed me that one layer would have the raspberry puree filling in between and asked if I would like the other layer to be filled chocolate ganache. Yum! When I went to go pick up the cake, I was completely floored with the finished product. The design came out WAY cuter than I had even envisioned. It was perfect and the detailing was amazing. Debbie helped walk the cake out to my car and I was on my way. The cake was SO moist and delicious and the guests were still raving about it weeks after the event. There are too many cakes out there that just taste like sugar and not the actual flavor. Not Debbie's cakes! You could taste the almond, raspberry and chocolate! *drooool* Debbie is about to get even busier since so many of the guests asked me where the cake came from!

The second my husband and I cut into our wedding cake, I immediately knew I had to write a review for Debbie ASAP. My cake was not only beautiful, but so SO delicious. We had a decent sized 3 layered cake and 100 cupcakes with 3 flavors to choose from - Red Velvet, Mango, and Chocolate Raspberry. Each cake was moist and not too sweet - I dare say, perhaps the best cake I ever had. We had so many people telling us the cake was so good. Most importantly, Debbie was so amazing to work with. She was very professional and responsive to all of our ideas, comments and concerns. She genuinely cared about what we wanted and strived to give us exactly that. And that she did (see picture). My husband and I live in New York, so most of our planning was done either via phone or email. Despite the long distance, Debbie always had great communication with us. Debbie is the Beyonce of cakes. And yes - we will be ordering from her again. ____________ Dear Debbie, Never stop making cakes. NEVER. We love you! Love, Joann and Ken's stomachs

Debbie is wonderful! I've been going back to her for custom cakes. Since I met her last year, I've ordered 4 cakes already and have been very happy with each order. She made our 4-layer wedding cake last year. She took time to sit & talk with us before the wedding and started a relationship. She's very excited with what she does and offered some tips on party planning & design. The cakes aren't just beautiful - they're delicious! Our wedding cake was lovely. Delivered it on time with the surprise iPhone chocolate peanut butter cake for my husband. Everyone loved it!!! Our groomsmen kept coming back the next day for the cake & leftovers. The cake is moist and the frosting is so goooodddd!!! We couldn't resist we ate the top layer after 6 months. So last Sunday I went back to pick up our anniversary cake. It was a Chiffon cake layered with mangoes, raspberries & strawberries. She even remembered our wedding colors. Book your cake orders ahead of time coz she has a load of orders esp during wedding season. She won't disappoint! It's worth the $$ especially if you want a gorgeous & delicious cake for your big day.

There are not enough words to say how amazing and talented Debbie is. I had a gluten-free white chocolate cheesecake made for my wedding. What Debbie created by far exceeded my expectations, not only in the way she adhered to my dietary restrictions but in her creativity and attention to detail. Thank you, Debbie for a delicious and beautiful cake, you really made for a memorable evening that I will never forget.

Debbie did an amazing job on our wedding cake. It's exactly what we asked for, and it tasted wonderful!! We had the praline cheesecake with salted caramel filling as 2 of the tiers, and hazelnut cheesecake as 1 of the tier. We brought the top tier home, and we couldn't help but finished it within a week, that's how good it was! My husband and I have already decided to order another one next year on our anniversary.

I've had this bookmarked for years and I walk past this place almost every Sunday (Campbell's Farmer's Market) but unfortunately, this isn't a brick and mortar storefront. I've read great reviews and a few negative reviews but I'm the type that will try a bookmark or random place out regardless of the reviews and its star rating; everyone has different expectations. After realizing it would be a hassle to bake my own cheesecake, I turned to Yelp for the rescue. Of course when you think about cheesecakes, Cheesecake Factory comes to mind right away and while their cheesecakes are great, I wanted something different, something local, something spectacular... I called w/ just a day in advance - Debbie called me back right away and was able to secure the order for the next day. Upon looking at the website, you can see that this bakery is bustling w/ wedding orders and birthday orders but what had me drawn to the place in general is the cheesecake. If you notice, the photos uploaded are not cheesecakes and 99.9% of the reviews written are for wedding cakes and birthday cakes..... still, I was determined to give this place a try. After reviewing the website, I was sold on the White Chocolate (cheesecake) w/ the Chocolate Cookie crust but when I was on the phone w/ Debbie, I ordered the white chocolate but she did not ask me what kind of crust I wanted and to tell you the truth, I completely forgot about it. I know that Kevin likes white chocolate, he likes cheesecake, and so I was just going by that... once she asked if I wanted a topping, I was skeptical but once I told her he likes peanut butter, she gestured peanut butter buttercream - SOLD! For a 6" it is $25. Method of payments accepted: cash and checks, not Visa/MC, folks. When I arrived, she showed me the cheesecake. I was thinking of a Cheesecake Factory replica but goodness gracious, the presentation of the cheesecake was just lovely! It was so simple yet so elegant at the same time. She told me that this cheesecake is a white chocolate cheesecake w/ peanut butter buttercream, peanut butter crumbles, and w/ a chococolate shortbread crust. I seriously wanted to take the picture and upload it right away but I didn't want to spoil the surprise seeing as how he was due to arrive in less than an hour. His actual words, "One of the best cheesecakes I've had" and "It's very rich". Thank you, Debbie for this wonderful cheesecake. It was a great birthday treat for him. For those that are wondering, he had a slice and the rest went to yours truly =P

Debbie, thank you so much for absolutely gorgeous cake for our daughters 3rd birthday! We loved it so much, that we absolutely have to have another one! Absolutely amazing bakery! Also thank you so much for delivering the cake. You are so nice! Looking forward to working with you again.

The one thing that really bothered me was the fact that the website does not provide any alternative way of communication other than the phone number - I was lucky that the answering machine was able to record my message when I initially called for a cake tasting, because when I called back the day before my appointment to let Debbie know what flavors I wanted to sample (she had requested that I call back the day before), the answering machine was full/out of memory! (I tried both phone #'s listed on the website and they both go to the same machine) I thought she would call me to follow-up but I never received anything phone call...so I showed up to my appointment the next day assuming/thinking that Debbie would just make some basic flavors (red velvet, carrot cake, some vanilla-based cake, etc.) so I would at least have something to try. However, when I arrived, Debbie didn't have anything prepared and we briefly talked about the details of the wedding - I didn't get to review any portfolios for cake ideas either... Debbie was very apologetic about her answering machine and had offered to deliver her cake samples herself - it just so happened that I had another vendor appointment nearby the next day so I ended up picking up the cake samples from Debbie the following day instead. The cakes were delicious overall but they were very heavy at the same time. I really enjoyed her red velvet & carrot cake (they were the best-tasting ones out of all the vendors I had tried up until this point), but her tiramisu was, strangely, very different from what I'm used to. Ultimately, we didn't end up using Debbie - it was important to me that I could communicate with my vendors conveniently via web (vs. phone), and I didn't want to deal with any more answering machine debacle!

Debbie made a beautiful Hello Kitty cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday. The red velvet cake, with cream cheese frosting and a layer of chocolate in the middle was divine! I called her on a tuesday to see if she could make me a cake for that sunday. She called me back on wednesday and said "No problem!". The only thing that got me a little nervous is her communication. While she did everything we talked about, I left her a message about getting a bigger cake and I never heard back from her until I went to pick up the cake. She had gotten my message but didn't let me know. I will go back to Debbie for my next cake! She was very friendly when I picked up the cake and even cut $5 off the price because she didn't have change. If you need a great cake and don't want to pay a ridiculous amount of money, call Debbie. She more than delivers!

The first time i got a cake with Debbie i was very happy with her work. I wanted a cake for both my son and daughter and she made a volcano with Dinosaurs and butterflies, which turned out amazing and very delicious. So the following year we moved out of town and still made an order with Debbie. My son got a PlantsvsZombies cake and my daughter got some gorgeous stiletto cupcakes. The cakes here are delicious & I hope to continue to get my kids their b-day cakes here

I had a not so good experience. I was celebrating a 16th birthday and went in to see if I could create something that was better than the Safeway fresh cream cake we usually do. She showed me some of the great creations she made, the photos were very impressive. The small intimate room where you sit and discuss likes and dislikes made me feel like she understood what I was looking for. I had no budget, was willing to spend whatever. So no real limitations. The decoration on the cake was GREAT. IN fact it was AWESOME. But the guest politely told me that the cake itself was dry and not very tasty. My wife later told me that a Safeway cake would have been just fine. I am no pastry expert, but when it comes to taste, my advice is sample what she intends to give you, do not focus so much on what the damn cake will look like. Overly complicated fillings don't always make for a tasty cake. Sometimes fresh cream and white sponge cake with a bit-a fruit is all you need. Most of the reviews are gushing about the the way the cake looks, not many talk about the taste.

We asked Debbie to do our wedding cake (super simple) with mini fruit filled cupcakes. It turned out AWESOME. Tasted fantastic. Looked cute. and turns out... mini is the perfect bite size taste most people want after a huge meal. We had a fusion indian/american wedding, so we wanted to incorporate mango into the desert without it being mango ice cream. Debbie's mini cupcakes with mango filling were perfect. We also did raspberry.

Debbie saved the day at my brother's wedding! My brother had his heart set on a colored cake instead of a traditional white cake. Unfortunately this request didn't make it into the order notes, so the cake arrived white (though beautiful!). When we saw my brother's crestfallen face, we knew we had to call Debbie to see if anything could be done. She was amazing and drove all the way back to the wedding venue with supplies to change the color of the cake. It was exactly what my brother had imagined and made him so happy. What a wedding cake super heroine! THANK YOU! As if the last-minute makeover wasn't enough, the cake was delicious. I have never seen a wedding cake go so fast. Slices with bites taken out of them that weren't watched for a second were stolen away by other guests!

I am writing a review for customer service only. I haven't tried the cakes yet, but I will tell you I plan on doing so as soon as I can. I was looking for a last minute cake in the busy wedding and graduation window -- silly me. Anyway, I left a message with Debbie and she promptly returned my phone call, even though she didn't have the avilability to help me with my cake. I appreciated the quick call back and that she didn't "leave me hanging" especially since she wasn't going to be making any money off of me (right now). Kudos to a woman who knows how to run a personable business. I *will* be back to order a cake...next time with a few more days notice.

I'm about a year late writing this review but I just had to give Debbie the kudos she deserves! My wedding was September of 2013. Not Just Cheesecakes was recommended to us by a friend. Debbie's cakes are phenomenal! It was hard to choose the flavors because they were all so good! Debbie spent a great deal of time with us on coming up with a design for our cake, giving us her professional opinion, which we appreciated. She did quite a bit of research to help find just the right type of feather butterflies to go on our cake. She also did an amazing job in the placement of our unique cake topper, which incorporated my 2 young sons and a monster truck! The cake looked beautiful on the big day and tasted amazing! Everyone raved about it! I would definitely recommend her!

One more birthday cake and one more time we are blown away by Debbie and her talent. She is a gem and just loves what she does. My son loved his cake, so did everyone at the party. Thank you again a million times. Just for the record this cake was only for 50 people and not a big order and I got a hold of Debbie as easy as always. I feel like I am picking up a cake at my sister's house when I get to her shop. She is warm and lovely. It is sad that Yelp can get misused based on one unlucky event.

Debbie made a cake that was both beautiful and tasted amazing for my son's Seuss themed 1st birthday. We had the tiramisu cheesecake. Not a fan of her fruity cake, but I'm not a fan of MOST fruity cakes anyway. She's pricey but comparable to other bakers that does similar quality of work.

She's great at what she does, we had a confusion with the price since we were on a budget and she worked with us. Everyone loved my cake, it looked and tasted great!

I LOOOOOVE this place!! The owner, Debbie, is a wonderful person to work with! She's super creative and will help bring your vision to life. Her work was above and beyond how I pictured my wedding cake to be. My now husband and I dreamed of having a five tier pillow shaped cake. When I saw the cake for the first time at my reception I was amazed. It was gorgeous! Super elegant with lots of detail. She even made a topper that replicated our wedding rings. There was even a beautiful silver cake platform that just made the cake that much better. Unfortunately, there is no bakery store front for this place. I would come here all the time to try her cakes and cheesecakes. The toasted almond cake we ordered was to die for! Pick this flavor for your cake! She has many other cake flavors and will create whatever you want. I totally look forward to ordering another cake from her one day. Order your specialty cake with Debbie today!

I got married in early May 2012 and shopped around a LOT for a great artist to do our wedding cake. We literally went to about a dozen cake tastings in the bay area before choosing Debbie and Not Just Cheesecakes. Why did we choose this vendor? Debbie makes wonderful cheesecakes! Honestly, my husband and I love cheesecake, and it was great to have a non-traditional choice for our wedding day. Her regular cake was pretty tasty as well, but the cheesecake got us hooked. Our cake consisted of three tiers to feed about 40 people. The bottom tier was a lemon mousse cheesecake filled with raspberries, and the top two tiers were chocolate hazelnut cheesecake filled with a hazelnut ganache. Amazing! The cake was iced in an ivory fondant with a green leaf pattern. Debbie delivered the cake to our wedding venue, Tarragon Restaurant, in Sunnyvale. Another thing we loved about Not Just Cheesecakes was that the price was very affordable. (Now, keep in mind that this is the wedding industry.) But Debbie gave us a lovely 3-tier wedding cake for less than most vendors would give us a measly 2-tier cake. She also threw in a wooden cake stand for free. And for a very small fee, Debbie provided two mini-cheesecakes for our gluten free and diabetic guests. I promise you, EVERYONE enjoyed the cake. We had to stop the best man from trying to take half-eaten guest pieces home with him. The only drawback to working with Debbie was being able to get in touch with her. She only checks her messages periodically throughout the week. However, if you ask her for her email address, she is more responsive that way. Overall, we really enjoyed working with Debbie and loved our cheesecake wedding cake. We even brought a portion of it with us on our honeymoon. ;)

Debbie made my wife Jennifer and my wedding cake about four years ago and I wanted to give a review. The cake was absolutely beautiful!!! Debbie and my wife worked really close together on it. Debbie was even able to copy some of the pattern from my wife dress onto one of the layers. We had different flavors for the layers and they were all delicious. They even surprised me with a Raiders groomsmen cake!!! We ordered a second cake for the release of the Johnny Depp's Charlie and the chocolate factory and she made a beautiful version of the mad hatter's hat. Thanks for the cakes.

Debbie is absolutely amazing both professionally and personally. She talked to my husband and I about what we wanted for our wedding cake for at least 30 minutes and then made samples that were to die for! The wedding cake itself was perfect - exactly what we wanted and tasted wonderful! We had the white cake with chocolate frosting (I'm pretty sure it has a fancier name like "ganache") and the red velvet with cream cheese frosting. I definitely plan to go back and get our 1-year anniversary cake from her. Also, her prices are incredibly reasonable, as far as wedding cakes are concerned, and definitely worth it! One last note... Debbie responds to e-mail more readily than the phone, BUT I did reach her directly on a few occasions. However, I'm also more of an e-mail person myself, so that was fine by me (also, that's how I typically communicate with businesses).

I was planning my fiance's birthday party a month ago, and was doing some research for a custom birthday cake. Where did I turn to to start my research? Yelp, of course! I was excited to contact Not Just Cheesecakes based on their raving reviews, but I guess I will never find out just how delicious their cakes are. Did you ask why? Well, maybe it's because I tried calling a dozen times (over a span of 5 business days) and every single time I called the phone just rang off the hook, or could it be that I was just unlucky? Wait, no, I'm pretty sure it's because they NEVER returned my message. For those customers that were fortunate enough to reach someone at Not Just Cheesecakes, congratulations... I guess I was JUST NOT that lucky. Dated: Monday, 3/19/2012 I received this message (at the very bottom) from the owner, after her response to my initial review above accusing me of personally attacking her. Debbie, I am very sorry that you feel personally attacked by my review above. My intention was to provide a review for other readers based on my experience with Not Just Cheesecakes. And unfortunately, my experience with your establishment was not positive. I did not write this review simply based on calling you once and you not picking up. I called your business line for a week; first I called and the phone just rang, so I tried again the next day and I left a message, when I still didn't hear anything back, I tried again the next day. If you had an email address listed on your website, I would have emailed you as well. I didn't give up that easily. My review is a legitimate review based on the SERVICE I received from Not Just Cheesecakes. To me, Yelp is not a venue for lashing out at businesses, or a place for personal attacks. I believe Yelp is a place to share your experiences with fellow Yelpers, in a professional and safe environment without fear of being berated or tried to be censured by business owners. I am sure you are a very capable cake designer, and that my review will not hinder any future business. I know a negative review is disheartening, but I think whether you are a big corporation or a small business owner, you have to come to grips with the fact that you can't please everyone (as tough as that might be). Email sent by owner, Debbie C. "Peggy. as I stated in my response to your comment, as it is a comment not a review...I have no record of you calling, at all. As you stated, the phone "kept ringing for 5 days" you were not able to leave a message. Not the possibility of the line just being busy, not the possibility of you dialing wrong, not the possibility of bad timing. but attacking me personally. You basically giving me a negative review for a busy phone line. I will be discussing this with Yelp as I feel it is grossly unfair."

My dad was having his 90th birthday and I wanted a special cake. I talked to Debbie about his life. She created the perfect thing - lemon mousse cheesecake in the form of a suitcase covered in travel stickers, plus a chocolate chunk cake in the shape of a paint can with an edible paint brush on top of the suitcase and a "postcard" of a WWII PBY airplane with a banner that read, "...and the journey continues" All edible and also delicious. Thank you Debbie!

I don't doubt that their cakes are good, I'm only giving this place a weak review because the initial service and punctuality was very poor (two elements in a business that mean a great deal to me) I was eager to try them out, especially after reading such raging reviews, but I couldn't even get a hold of these people. I tried calling several times to schedule a cake tasting and there was no answer for days. Then, I get a call back and voicemail talking about group tastings once every few months or something? Ok that's fine. Again, I attempted returning their call only to be left unanswered for days on end! Attempt number three, desperate to touch base with someone, anyone, I drove all the way from Mountain View to their location on a friday afternoon to discover they're closed with the blinds drawn. I understand that they're by appointment only, but I was hoping I'd get lucky with maybe somebody there. I couldn't figure out if they were still in business or moved locations or what? It was frustrating, especially since I was determined to find a good baker for my wedding.

Debbie at Not Just Cheesecakes baked us an amazing wedding cake this past September! Debbie is a master of her craft and very easy to work with. We didn't really know what we wanted, but Debbie was able to figure out what our vision was, and she delivered a beautiful cake that was even better than we expected. She is so easy to talk to that we bounced some of our other wedding ideas off of her, and she was more than happy to help. She helped us design our guestbook table and even helped set it up at the venue! We will definitely recommend Not Just Cheesecakes to our friends and family!

First I will walk you through this amazing process of picking out a cake to the wedding day: We (my now wife and I) sat down with Debbie to discuss the design of the cake. She really captures your vision for what you want the cake to look like. She also takes time out of her insanely busy schedule to just get to know you. That also plays into how your cake will look. Next, we went to a cake tasting and let me tell you there is no skimping on cake slices here. We tried 12 different cakes and I expected only a bite, but it was a full slice. We ended up going with a two-flavor cake. It alternated by level between tiramisu cake (my choice) and a lemon mousse cheesecake (amazing choice by my wife). Finally the wedding day was here!! She was early and made sure everything was taken care of. It was very easy. Now for the taste of the cake...one word...wait for it......A-MAZING!! I for one think that it's difficult to convert a fluffy tiramisu dessert into a cake since it could easily just become a blob, but she more then surprised me. Since my wedding party failed to eat their slices in a timely fashion, I took the honor of eating a full 3 slices. The lemon mousse cheesecake was phenomenal and I really enjoyed the strong flavor as well as it being light due to the mousse-like quality. If you know Debbie made the cake at a wedding or anywhere for that matter, do not decline a slice. You will be sorry. All in all, my wedding day was the best day of my life and Debbie and her cake assisted in making that happen. It truly was special. Also a side thank you to her husband who I know is usually behind the scenes, but I know helps out too!

I LOVED the Wedding Cake Debbie made for us! She is amazing and creative and the top in her craft! Debbie made these original birds out of sugar for the topper on my wedding cake (see image 9 in gallery) and I was just blown-away. All my guests were impressed as not only was my cake stunning to look at, it was delicious as well! I was referred to Debbie by a friend who went to a bridal shower and Not Just Cheesecakes did their cake. My friend was super impressed and told me I had to try them for my wedding. After going to 3 other cake places, Debbie was just so down-to-earth, warm, personable, and full of creative ideas, I knew she was the one for us. As a photographer, I appreciate someone who is visual, loves what they do and can offer such a personalized service. She was amazingly reasonable in price for such an excellent quality. What I really appreciated was how Debbie created the cake on how she saw my personality and style of my wedding. Even in a short time, she was able to be in tune with what I wanted, even though I didn't know it completely, during the last two weeks of wedding hecticness! She's a true artist and if you just trust her, she will design an amazing cake for you, she is that good! Please keep in mind that with her talent and skills, Debbie is a very busy and sought-after woman, so be patient (it may take her a couple weeks to get back to you) and you will surely be rewarded with a gorgeous and original cake!

We ordered a cake for my dad's 60th birthday from Debbie and boy were we blown away! She made a custom tool box for him with his favorite brand Bosch. The guests kept thinking the cake was fake! That's how good it was! I have recommended many friends of mine to Debbie and they have all been very happy. My friend just ordered her bridal shower cake from her and we know without a doubt it will look perfect! Can't wait!

We used Not Just Cheesecakes for our wedding cake and desserts and it was such a fun and amazing experience! Debbie was very fun, personable and excited to help us make our desserts just the way we wanted! She provided stands and table cloths that made everything come together even more beautifully. AND the best part of course was that she made plenty of time for us to try everything we were ordering. She also has great prices, especially for the yummy quality. We ordered regular and hazelnut cheesecake (to die for!) and cookies, pumpkin cupcakes, apple tarts and a wedding cake of red velvet and carrot cake. I would recommend her to anyone and will be using her again for future occasions!

I need to write a full review for Debbie and her work on our wedding cake, and I will... but in the meantime... our wedding cake was absolutely stunning, she is an amazing woman to work with and she easily worked within our budget. Her artistic talents are beyond impressive (people still talk about our wedding cake 1.5 later) and it tasted phenomenal. You can trust her to create a cake that will take your breath away and go beyond your expectations. Brides... work with Debbie and this will be one aspect of your wedding you will not have to stress about!! :) I just left her a voicemail to work on my grandmother's 80th birthday cake... and in the future when we have kids, she'll be on my speed dial for special birthdays too.

Finally getting around to reviewing wedding vendors.... Can I just say, my husband and I love Debbie! Beginning with our tasting, she was a pleasure to work with. She makes fresh cakes for tasting, and even sends you home with the leftovers. Not only are her cakes incredibly tasty, but they're beautiful too! She is such a lovely woman. We really enjoyed working with her. She's honest, easygoing, and has a great sense of humor. She made some suggestions that we took her up on, and were thrilled we did. Our wedding cake was three tiers. The flavors we chose were: (bottom tier)chocolate cake, vanilla butter cream, with a layer of chocolate mousse. (middle tier) red velvet, cream cheese frosting, with a layer of chocolate ganache. (third tier)Vanilla cake, vanilla butter cream, lemon curd and berries. We absolutely loved our cake!!! It could not possibly have been any better. A few of our guests confessed that they were worried it wouldn't be very good because it was so pretty. I had some ideas in terms of design & colors, and she came up with great ways to bring them to fruition. It turned out better than we had even imagined. She also put gorgeous flowers from her garden on the cake, (they lasted better than some of the flowers from the florist!) I must add, she saved my bouquet the day of the wedding.Lucky for me, she had some beautiful ribbon in her bag, and re-wrapped my bouquet, (it was coming undone and you could see the foil!) Some people have mentioned she can be difficult to get a hold of.Phone-wise, this is true.Get her email address, and she responds promptly. Her prices are very reasonable too! I can't recommend her enough. We adored her and her cakes!!!

Easy to Work With. Delicious Cakes. Incredibly Creative. Debbie is a miracle for any bride who is overwhelmed, planning the perfect event and looking for a delicious way to end your evening. She has done all the cakes for our family events from my cousin's wedding twenty years ago, to my BFFs little boys birthday. When it came time to plan my wedding there was no else that I would use. I worked with Debbie on a very specific vision. My vision was a Belle-Epoque style wedding with Victorian nostalgic sentiment leaning on the great pyschedelic 60s. And it was on Valentine's weekend. Instead of centerpieces of flowers I wanted cakes. And I envisioned a head table dripping in deserts and deliciousness. I wasn't concerned about matchy matchy - i just wanted beautiful and delicious. Debbie exceeded my expectations. To this day, people come up to me and my family and tell us they have never been to a more beautiful wedding. The most consistent items of mention? Our unique cake centerpieces and the head table. Debbie outdid herself. When we put the treats, cakes and goodies out for boxing - they disappeared in a flash. They were gorgeous, delicious and Debbie was such a pleasure to work with. Not only is she incredibly talented and creative, she is genuine, cares about you and your event. She is a bit more expensive, but not nearly as expensive as some other bakeries with cake that might look good, but taste like cardboard and sandust. Our wedding was highly complicated with limited set up times and a movie-set vision - Debbie worked within the limitations of our event sight and created a room that was pure Hollywood beautiful - it belonged at a royal palace. We love her for how much effort and specialness she created for us. Don't waste your time with anyone else if you are trying to plan a special event. Debbie is the quintessential professional with immense talent. If you don't believe me check out the photos here: joshgruetzmacher.com/blo… and here flickr.com/photos/mrdodg… These photos do not do her work justice.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Debbie for our recent wedding. We asked Debbie for a tasting at the beginning of November 2009 based on a friend's recommendation. This friend had gone to 16 different cake tastings before choosing Not Just Cheesecakes, so we trusted her judgment that Debbie was the best! I had some trouble connecting directly with Debbie, due to the limited times she listens to and returns calls (Tues. and Wed.), but eventually she got me and my now husband in for a tasting a couple weeks later. It also became easier to communicate with her once I had her working email address. From the moment we met, she was like an old friend. It was so easy to talk to her, and it seemed like she understood and had a passion for our vision of a simple vintage-looking cake with just buttercream frosting. When it came to the cake flavors, my mouth did cartwheels when I tried the first taste of her red velvet cake. Hands down the best red velvet cake I've ever tasted. We chose to go with that with cream cheese and chocolate ganache filling. We also chose to go with a vanilla cake and orange and raspberry compote. Best of all, she sent us home with the rest of the tasting cakes and a sample of her delicious cheesecake! We finalized the flavors and design details a couple weeks before the wedding. She agreed to copy the design in a picture I showed her, and she also planned to provide some ivory and fuchsia ranunculus. On the wedding day itself, when she arrived at 11 am and was told that we wouldn't be cutting the cake until closer to 1, she decided to leave and return again so that the cake wouldn't be sitting out in the heat. She also brought a vintage milk glass cake stand and a beautiful crocheted tablecloth that perfectly went with our aesthetic. The cake's frosting design wasn't *quite* what I had in mind -- it was a little too much like knockdown wall texture and less like the light and airy inspiration photo -- but overall, my husband and I were pleased. We thought we would have some cake left over, and we were disappointed to learn that there was nothing left -- maybe we underestimated the amount needed for our 80 guests? The guests all raved about the cake, and we thought it tasted fantastic (based on the 5-10 bites we got). Maybe the guests liked it so much that they had seconds?? We're excited that Debbie offered to make us mini-cakes since we missed out on most of our cake, and I believe she also said she would be happy to make us one for our 1-year anniversary. Debbie's cake is so great, that we'll definitely be taking her up on that!! My husband and I really enjoyed working with Debbie, and our wedding cake was delicious.

To follow up on my previous review, the groom's cake was the hit of the wedding! It was shaped like law school books with real names that I'd given Debbie. Awesome! It was so tasty that people were fighting to get a piece. Since then I've also ordered a cake for my grandfather's birthday which was delicious as well. I highly recommend Debbie!!

After hearing several recommendations, I attempted to book a consultation for a wedding cake. My call was not returned for several weeks, and when it was, it was her assistant, who didn't have the most polite phone manner and basically insisted that it must have been my mistake. I tried calling back to change an appointment time, and the assistant and Debbie did not return my calls. Finally, my aunt, who had met Debbie, left a note under her door. When Debbie called, she offered no explanation for what had happened and did not take responsibility or sincerely apologize, in my opinion. To me, it seemed like her attitude was that she was the best and didn't have to try as hard. Finally, the consult, which her assistant had said would be a tasting. We show up with a 5 year old, expecting cake tasting, and instead attended an hourlong meeting, gave the same information we'd given on the phone, and set up another time to pick up the cakes she made. When I arrived at the appointed time, she was nowhere to be found, and after I called her to ask, she said she lost track of time and totally forgot she was going to meet me. I was willing to let one or two miscommunications go, but after all of that, I did not feel valued as a customer at all and did not feel good about giving money to this business. We did pick up the cake samples, which were well crafted; but really rich and a bit sweet for my taste. If you like really complex cakes with tons of flavors, you'll probably like it. I just don't think I need to work that hard to pay someone a boatload of money to make a wedding cake for me if they're not into it.

Debbie did my wedding and most recent birthday cakes. She did a fantastic red velvet with cream cheese frosting, and a layer of chocolate. It was awesome! There weren't any leftovers to take home! She decorated it with a layer of modeling chocolate to give it a smooth look, and a little white chocolate for contrast. Debbie is really nice lady, and we love chatting with her when we get our cakes. She is a one woman show, so she might not get back to you right away, but she will. And as it gets closer to the date, she gets more focused on your cake.

MMMM....one layer of tiramisu cheesecake & one layer of lemon covered in chocolate fondant. It was a true centerpiece for my father's 70th birthday bash. Everyone LOVED not only the looks of the decadent masterpiece but the taste. Debbie was fun to work with and had great ideas. She really took her time with me and I felt like I was part of the process. I have no hesitation in recommending her fabulous cakes, plus her prices are very reasonable. ( I think it was around $7 a slice at the time)

Debbie, Debbie, Debbie! I want to be friends with YOU ;) Thank you so much for being part of our celebration and for making such an amazing cake AND dessert bar for us! xoxo Caryn Ok, now I can write the review... My husband and I tasted cakes from 10 different bakers and nothing came even close to the taste, quality and service we received from Debbie. We were very specific with what we were looking for and maintained that we did not want to compromise on the quality of the cake, but it was also important that we liked who we were working with. Not only did Debbie bake us mini sample cakes on our first appointment, she also made us a mini sample of what we talked about for our final cake, just to make sure we were on the same page. She created a perfect composition of a "Princess Cake" (which is our favorite) but that could withstand five hours of non refrigeration without melting away. It was layers of orange scented chiffon cake, (which had perfect texture you would expect from a REAL chiffon cake) with fresh raspberry, raspberry preserve, (she made from scratcth) and whipped cream, all wrapped within a delicious thin layer of marzipan. OMG our guest were raving at how delicious our cake was and people wanted SECONDS! Plus it was extremely beautiful. Debbie, had so many amazing ideas and she tells you what works and doesn't. She took the paisley and peonies from my invitation and reinterpreted it onto my cake. She also made some beautiful sugar peonies (which everyone thought were real flowers) for my cake topper. Stunning! Dessert Bar: My husband is Iranian and traditionally Iranians will always have a sweets (Shirni) table, but I wanted to do a dessert bar with traditional Persian cookies, but also incorporate some of our favorite desserts. I frantically called Debbie 1 1/2 weeks before the wedding asking if she could whipp up a dessert bar incorporating the Persian sweets and she enthusiastically agreed. With such late notice I didn't expect much, but when we got together to discuss what we were going to do Debbie and her partner came with such amazing ideas. They really complete your vision thinking of everything from linens, flowers, dessert choices and overall theme and look. WOW! Really above and beyond of what I expected, and all the while working within the budget you specify. Magical! :) Raves on all of the desserts that were made, espcially her Carmel Cheesecake! Afterall, her business is called Not Just Cheesecake....but make sure you get the Cheesecake! I have posted some pics, Enjoy! I hope you will be lucky enough to work with Debbie for your special event as I did. She is simply the best!

It was my daughter's five year birthday and I chose Debbie primarily based on all the yelp reviews and especially because of repeated mention of her positive ways of working with customers. I'm so glad having made this decision. When we spoke over phone, Debbie asked me a few questions about what my daughter would like for a theme and what fruit she likes and then made a few suggestions that I'd not have thought about. It was a quick but pleasant ordering process. The design that Debbie came up with (a stunning gift box in pink and white, and complete with beautiful polka dots on the sides) won rave reviews and the cake was delicious. Debbie: trust me, I'll come back to you and I look forward to seeing what design you have in mind when my son turns ten this June :)

The cake was awesome! Debbie is a doll to deal with. The cake was moist and yummy -- lots of layers of filling. I sent her a party invitation, and she designed the cake to match very well. She also made a small baby smash cake for the birthday boy. Got lots of compliments! We'll certainly give her a call next time we need a special cake. As most of the other reviews say, Debbie is very hard to get a hold of. I called a few weeks before my event, and amazingly got a call back the next day. Since I was out, and hadn't decided on flavors yet, I wasn't able to firm up the order then. I called back the next day...the next week....the week after that...and finally got a call back. I was getting a bit panicked that they were going to be too busy and I'd be without a cake for my son's 1st, but they had put me on their calendar when we first spoke. When Debbie called me a few days before the event (I'd spoken with her assistant previously), she was such a pleasure to speak with (and the cake turned out so great) it kinda made me forget how worried I'd gotten waiting for a call back.

*********This place is worth more than 5 stars. ************** Hiring Debbie and Tracy to bake, decorate and coordinate my wedding was the best decision I made during that time. They were on board to suggest and implement things I would never think about, like lighting a bug repellant candle before the guests arrive for our outdoor wedding. They made the trip to scope out or location, which wasn't local. She brought our vision of a rustic, elegant wedding to life, with mostly the use of verbal descriptions. very budget friendly, didn't pressure us to buy or do more than we really wanted. every once in a while you find a business that goes above and beyond what you paid for. I highly recommend using her for your event. you will not be disappointed.

Debbie made our wedding cake last summer. It was amazing! She is a very busy woman, but it's only because she is the best at what she does. We got so many compliments on our cake. The design was very original and detailed. For months after my wedding my guests were still raving about our cake and telling me they were craving for more. Out of all of my vendors, Debbie was my favorite to work with. She is always very bubbly and pleasant. She really puts her whole heart into everything she makes. Thanks Debbie!

I'm a year late in my review of my wedding cake Debbie made, but better late than never! Debbie made our amazing delicious wedding cake and was so nice to work with. From our first cake tasting, she was super friendly and everything we tasted was amazing! For designing the cake, she was attentive to detail and brought great ideas. She was happy to work with our requests, even if they went beyond what she usually did. She made us a chocolate mint cake, even though that wasn't listed as a flavor, and provided us extra accessories for our favors decoration. Even though her cake was better than anywhere else we tasted, it was very reasonable in price. Our cake on our wedding was amazing - everyone kept telling us how great our flavors were. We barely got any cake because everyone was enjoying our cake so much (and thank you to my bridesmaid who made sure we got some!). Debbie just made us a complimentary cake for our one year anniversary, so we were reminded how amazing our cake was. She even decorated it to match our wedding cake - a very night, thoughtful touch. Note - Debbie can be a little hard to get a hold of, but is pretty responsive through email. It is definitely worth the effort!

LOVE this place!! Debbie is the best! We came here for our wedding cake and I'm SO glad we did. Not only was Debbie a joy to be around but she was so excited about her work that it made me even more confident to have her make the most important cake of my life. I knew exactly what I wanted and had a picture for her. Done and done! Then it was time for a taste test. This was no ordinary taste test. We told her what we wanted to try and she said to come back the next day (or in a few days, I can't remember now). So we come back to like 4 mini cakes prepared just for us and a buffet of different icings to try every combination we were interested in. Then we got to take all the cakes home!! We had dessert for daaaays. I joked that we needed to try others so we could take home 4 or 5 new cakes. And if that wasn't awesome enough, these cakes were seriously the best tasting cakes EVER. I still dream about how tasty my wedding cake was.

Debbie is the best! No really, she is. My husband and I wanted nothing to do with wedding cake at our wedding, its just usually so sweet and hurts your teeth, but we were told we HAD to have a wedding cake. After going to a few other places to taste, we knew we found something special with Debbie. She is so so very nice. I love that she keeps her business small and personal after all of these years. She personally meets with every client and tries to create something so very much them. My husband actually hates cake, I think Ive seen him eat cake maybe once or twice in the last 4 1/2 years. When we did our tasting with Debbie, he was the first one to lick his plate clean. Her tiramisu is killer! The bottom layer is chocolate cheesecake crust which makes it so unique. She also bakes for the Los Gatos Roasting Company and my dad had mentioned that he loooooves the carrot cake there. So on the wedding day, she brought him his own personal slice of carrot cake. Talk about amazing customer service and paying attention to details.

My 6th wedding anniversary is quickly approaching and I started thinking about the things that made that day so special for me, besides of course marrying the most wonderful man in the world, my cake was a close second ;) It was beautiful and elegant and was above and beyond what Debbie and I had discussed. I was truly impressed at its size and beauty and then impressed once again when I tasted it! It was layers of white cake filled with lemon curd and vanilla buttercream covered in rolled white chocolate, and it..was..heaven! Debbie is friendly and fabulous and an absolute genius. I love, love, love this place :)

From the moment we had the tasting for our wedding that took place in June 2009, we were hooked! She welcomed us with her sweet and energetic personality to try four different flavors of cakes (that were each the size of mini cakes) and a plethora of toppings and fillings! It was literally a feast for my mom, husband and I. Everything was beyond delicious!!! We left happily with full bellies and a smile on our face! She even let us take home the left overs which we shared with my in-laws. And on top of it being the most delicous cake she is one of the most CREATIVE and TALENTED cake artists! Seriously!!! I showed her a picture of a Martha Stewart cake and she copied it perfectly and even added a few of her own creative additions (I gave her free-reign as I trusted her 100%)! I received so MANY COMPLIMENTS about the cake-who new a wedding cake could taste so good???!!? YUMM!! I am going to use her for many upcoming birthday parties and special events. And please don't let her lack of quickly responding to emails and phone calls deter you from hiring her-she will deliver wonderfully for your special event. She is a busy bee and gives so much attention and care to her cakes. Bon Appetite!

I LOVE Not Just Cheesecakes! Debbie and the others that work with her are the nicest and most creative people! Debbie is doing our cake for our August 2009 wedding and I recently saw the mock up design - it was 100 times more beautiful than anything I could have imagined and I am super excited for our cake now! I think it might be my favorite part of the wedding so far (besides marrying the man I love ;) We did a tasting and each and every cake was delicious! If you want a beautiful, delicious cake for any event - wedding, birthday, baby shower, bridal shower, etc.. - give Debbie a call! She is the best! (She not only offered amazing help with the cake, but with centerpiece ideas and linen ideas).

I have nothing but good things to say about Debbie. Debbie created a Tiffany gift box cake for my bridal shower this past Sunday and delivered the cake to our location (CA Cafe in Los Gatos) at no extra fee. It was absolutely amazing! The cake was the most beautiful Tiffany cake I've seen and it tasted delicious (red velvet with cream cheese)! Everyone kept saying how much they loved the cake. Debbie is a pleasure to work with---warm, friendly, professional. She is hard to get a hold of at first, but responds well to email. I would recommend her to anyone planning a special event because she will give her 100% to make it wonderful.

I have an update. Debbie is a wonderful loving person with great creativity. I think she needs to limit herself to how much she can do though. She said she hates June weddings because of the heat and everyone gets married that month. I don't blame her and we didn't want to but it worked best for us. We orginally talked about all of these creative things she was going to do to our cake adding items to it to embelish it. We had a flat sheet cake for our wedding with a tree on top. The tree was gorgeous and very yummy! It was not as thick as we hoped though, so we really couldn't serve it to our guests. And the flat sheet cake was just that....a flat sheet cake with a tree and a tent thrown on top. A few airbrush marks and that was it! She talked about adding all of these cool 3-d architecturally interesting elements to make it look more realistic and rustic. Then we decided to do a lavender white cake. She doesn't normally do that, so she really tried to get the flavor just right which we really appreciated. We kept asking if the cake could be lighter like the chocolate cake. And she said she could not adjust it, that's just how it is. I find that weird. If you are a baker then you should be able to modify it. So we had to go with a chiffon cake instead which is like angel food. I wasn't super impressed with it, but it was lighter than her regular white cake. Also the cake arrived about 40 minutes late at our wedding. Not too big of a deal, but not great. Also getting a hold of this women is nearly impossible! We set up 3-4 appointments and 2 of them she didn't show up to! She appologized for one and said it was my fault on the other! Very frustrating on that end too. She is wonderful and I would highly recommend her in her off seasons. I'm sure she could have more time to put her creativity into it because she is very creative!

What can I say about Debbie! She is soooo nice, is what always comes to mind! Really, she is one of those people who genuinely care about your special day and what you have to say. She listens and adds onto your ideas and is always a joy to be around! Not only does she make gorgeous wedding cakes, she goes out of her way to help in any way possible for your wedding! She made my fiancé and I a custom turquoise cake stand to match our color theme and cake and lent us candy scoops for our candy bar! What a sweetheart right?! I honestly cannot say I have ever seen Debbie without a huge smile on her face she is just one of those people who are so happy and loves her job! I wish all my vendors were like Debbie! Not only is Debbie a joy to work with her cakes are amazing, I love her chocolate fondant and ganache! Best of all she not only gives you a tasting she gives you a WHOLE plate of cakes to take home for tasting! YUM Right? Thank you so much Debbie for making us a wedding cake to remember!

I was referred to Debbie from Not Just Cheesecakes for my wedding by a friend. I am so glad I was! From the moment we met I got the best vibe from Debbie. My fiance, my mom and me had a meeting/cake tasting with Debbie and she had us at hello. I had spoken to her over the phone I asked if she did marzipan and other flavors I was curious about and she had them at the tasting. She had us try a white cake with raspberry filling with marzipan, red Velvet cake with cream cheese filling, a chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache filling and a white chiffon cake with orange zest and lemon custard. As we tasted cake we threw a few ideas back and forth and talked for hours! By the time came for us to leave we were pretty confident we were going to go with Debbie as our cake vendor. We went to a few other meetings with other bakers and they just weren't the same caliber. I put a deposit down a few weeks later with Debbie. A few months later I was on the Not Just Cheesecake website and I came across a list of her flavors and that's when I saw "Almond cake". I called Debbie right away and asked if we could try the almond cake as well as another flavor she had mentioned to us, Ollalieberry. I asked her about fillings and we had previously talked about bananas so she said she could fill the almond cake with bananas and offered for us to try a chocolate cake with bananas as well. So I get a call on a Thursday to come in on a Saturday afternoon to pick up a few samples she would have ready for us. What we tasted was heaven!!!!!! Bananas get brown pretty quickly so Debbie ended up sauteing the bananas in a brown sugar rum and it was so delicious we decided the whole display cake would be Almond cake with sauteed bananas with a few sheet cakes ( red velvet with cream cheese, and the white cake with the raspberry and marzipan). When it came to decorating the cake Debbie helped me tweak my vision and the end result was magnificent! We had Debbie place our monogram on the cake as well as the scroll design from our invitations. The flowers Debbie place in between the tiers were gorgeous as well and went well with the cake and our wedding. The cake was awesome and so was the attention to detail. Needless to say everyone at the wedding LOVED the cake and thought it was beautiful!!! I can't wait to have another celebration just to have Debbie bake me another cake. :) I love love love Debbie!

Amazing! I got my husband's birthday cake from Not Just Cheesecakes and it was fantastic. The cake was delicious and the design was incredible. The cake was in the shape of a wine barrel with a chocolate wine bottle - it could have passed for an actual barrel it was so realistic. The customer service was great!

My wife and I had Debbie create our wedding cake the weekend of December 19th. We were planning the wedding from Oregon and Debbie was great to work with over the phone. We told her our price range and style and she was able to accommodate us very easily. The cake looked just as we had expected when it arrived on our wedding day and all of the guests loved it! We had numerous people say that it was the best cake that they had ever had. I would recommend working with Debbie to anyone, and although she only answers the phone a few days a week, give her a chance to call you back... She seems very busy but is also very organized. Fantastic cake and we would definitely order cake from her again, she really was a joy to work with!

Debbie is amazing. Debbie's cake are amazing. Debbie created a masterpiece for our wedding and for several birthdays/events. Based on the different cakes (cheesecake included, I've had about 6 different cakes) I've tasted; I conclude that you will not find a better cake anywhere. Yes... you heard that correctly. Debbie's cakes are better then your mom's and grandmom's cakes. Seriously. As far as creativity goes, the cakes I have seen and tasted have been absolutely beautiful. If I could post html here, I would to show you.

I called her to order a blues clues cake for my son's 2nd birthday. She took about a week to respond to my call so I had found another bakery in the meantime. With the new bakery I choose the cake I wanted would be about $120.00. She quoted me at $40.00. I needed to save a little money so I went with her. I never previewed a cake and just told her what I wanted over the phone. On my son's birthday it was storming like crazy, hailing, lightning, thunder and thgfde power was out. She delivered the cake with no added delivery fee. The cake was absolutely beautiful and more than I could have expected. I was a bit nervous ordering over the phone however, she exceeded my expectations. The cake was more than perfect and only $40.00. It was exactly what I wanted and more. She also brought extra raspberry to put on top of the cake as I served it.

I have had a few cakes from this fabulous baker and they have all been so delicious and amazingly beautiful. She is very talented in her designs to where they do not even look like cakes. You cannot go wrong with hiring her. They are simply amazing!!!

My wife was turning 49+ and I wanted to give her a surprize cake for her big party. I met with Debbie and described her personality and things she liked to do. I trusted Debbie to use her experience, talent, and imagination to make a cake that would be memorable. Well, she did exactly that! What a beautiful cake, words can't describe the look on my wife's face (not to mention all our guests too). The cake was in the shape of a suitcase, having old time travel decals on the lid, items sticking out representing my wife (shoe, passport, crossword puzzle, scarf, and jewelry). The cake was fabulous and I can't say enough. I will without question be using Debbie again in the future for my special occasions.

I'm a wedding videographer ( signetringfilms.com ) and get to see a lot of beautiful cakes. Seeing them from behind a camera, (and then seeing them over and over again during the editing process) there are some that stand out, either because of the excellence of the vendor or because of the excellence of the cake. This one, i guess, is about the excellence of both: I filmed a wedding in which the cake impressed me so much that I had to ask about the vendor afterward. I was told the vendor was "Not Just Cheesecakes". The guests were definitely impressed with the taste. But for me, the cake's design was so lovely: It was a three tiered square cake, with calla lillies, ribbon, and pearls wrapped carefully about it. It was truly unique, and when I asked the groom after the wedding about his cake vendor, he couldn't stop sharing with me what a great experience working with her had been. Thought I'd pass this along.

SOOOOO LOVE DEBBIE!! She is the bomb, not only did she make a beautiful cake for us, she did it for a great price, and it was worth twice what other bakeries charge!! All the guests LOVED the cake, they wanted to know who made it, and Debbie also had some great suggestions about other aspects of the wedding. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her and will be contacting her for anniversary cakes.

My wife always orders cakes from not just cheesecakes and they are always delicious. I can't wait until we need to order another.

The thing I like most about Debbie, besides the fact that she makes a mean red velvet cake, is that she is a genuinely wonderful person. When I met with her to discuss the details of our cake she made me feel like an old friend and not just another client. Her excitement and energy were contagious. She really listened to what I liked and didn't like and tried to design a cake that fit our personalities and the theme of our wedding. My husband met with her first and came home convinced she was the one. He brought me cake samples, and after I pretty much inhaled the red velvet, I eagerly agreed. When I met with her, I also sampled her lemon cheesecake which was out of this world. Her prices are reasonable too. The other vendor we were looking at was not as tasty, was a little more expensive AND didn't have the loving touch or customization that Debbie offers. I'm so happy we found Debbie to make the cake for our wedding!!

Debbie's cakes are the best. She pays so much attention to detail that you have to take your time to look at her work and then you don't even want to cut into it because it's sooo pretty! She's one of the best! Been using her for 7 years!

We hired Debbie from Not Just Cheesecakes for our 2005 summer wedding. We met with her in her cute Campbell shop after playing voicemail tag for about three weeks. We designed the cake ourselves and she assured us she would be able to do it, even adding in a monogram to the sides of the cake. Although Debbie specializes in cheesecakes, she also offers other flavors and different types of cake. On our wedding day our cake was exactly what I wanted and tasted pretty good. The cheesecake was a big hit because not many people expected it for dessert. Its a bit difficult getting a hold of Debbie and even though she might take awhile to get back to you, she eventually does. Her prices are very reasonable and she delivers the cakes herself. She uses fresh berries, never freezes the cakes and she is very sweet and helpful when it comes to deciding on the cake flavors.

I've never actually ordered anything from here but my friend got her wedding cake from here and it was delicious! The lemon cheesecake was silky as can be and it was real lemon flavor, not that botled lemon juice stuff. I can't wait to try this place.

I've had several of Debbie's cakes. It does take some work to get ahold of her but BOY what she can do with a cake. She is absolutely the sweetest woman and really will do what you want if you guide her and show her pics. She's very creative and artsy. LOVE her lemon curd mmmm, she is absolutely an artist.
