The best salad wrap ever!!! :)

The first time I went here, the salads were fresh and filled the whole box (I ordered to go). However, they still messed up my order (no cheese). The second time, they also messed up my order, and the greens were not fresh, but wilted and pink-tinged. Definitely not coming here again.

It was my first time here and I ordered a Full Cesar Salad (Romaine Lettuce, Croutons,Cheese, and of course Cesar Salad Dressing) my total was $8.25. I usually go to Buckhorn, but for a small salad the price is about $10. The salad was perfect and refreshing... I will definitely be coming to try their sandwiches and other options on the Menu.

I do enjoy their salads, my favorite is the buffalo chicken & overall I would say it's a great spot to grab lunch. It's run by a bunch of teenagers and 20 something year olds, so don't expect any kind of remarkable customer service. It seems like they have a fast food mentality in that sense; get you in and out. The past couple of times I've come, there has been a gentleman behind the counter who seemed irritated that I even came in to order a salad. Made me feel like I was interrupting his day and I just wanted to get out because he made it clear by his attitude and transparent mood. Sorry to bug you I'm just hungry and want a salad, dude! Last couple times they were heavy handed with the dressing, making for a soggy salad I no longer had an appetite for. Lesson learned... getting the dressing on the side from now on.

I needed something healthy for a take out lunch for 2. I had never been here and thought I would give it a try. It seems there is quite a following considering how many people were sitting down eating. The guy behind the counter didn't seem very happy. Well, I know he's at work and all, but he just seemed bothered by being there this day. So...I checked out the menu and figured since this is to go, opted for 2 gyros and a small side of Mediterranean salad to share. I was offered a number and had to wait for this order which is fine, but then the girl that came out from the back with the order 10 minutes later, also had that same bothered air. No smiles, and everyone seems on edge and a bit agitated. When I see this....I have to wonder if management is being hard on there employees which seems to be the norm these days. Only 3 stars not for the quality of the food, which was pretty good although the gyro could have used more tzatziki sauce. It just seems to me on the uncomfortable side with the way employees were behaving, and I get the feeling it's not there fault.

These guys have tossed their way into my family's heart. We adore the apple chicken crisp salad and the hail to Caesar is always a solid choice. I would recommend splitting a full between 2 or 3 people. Their full salads are huge! It's a much better value than the half. The Mr. was super excited to see gyros on the menu and ordered the beef. My daughter had never had a gyros and now she is a bonafide connoisseur! She really liked it. He gave it to her to try a bite and half way down slyly asked, "Oh, do you want this back?" He reclaimed it and truly enjoyed the rest. We ordered and received our food really quickly. I just saw a picture of the veggie wrap and I am looking forward to trying that. I am so glad they are here and provide the area with a healthy and speedy option for lunch or dinner.

When you come here you can pretend to be Elaine from Seinfeld and order the "Big Salad". You will definitely get the quintessential "Big" salad. They call it the "full"salad but I'd describe it as big. I got the Full Ceasar Salad with grilled chicken. I was there at noon and there's a definite lunch rush. But the employees work fast so no worries. You stand in line and order at the counter and watch them make your stuff. I got my stuff to go because all of the tables looked full and I had a stroller. Tables fill up fast at lunch time. The salad comes with lots of croutons which I usually omitt but forgot. I liked it, but it was just a salad. If you're hungry and wanting a fast heather option, this place is pretty good.

I love Salad Makers. I had read the reviews, which were mostly about the staff and hours. I had no issue with the staff, they seemed very nice, I thought the prices were great too. I will definitely go back, but I must add that you should try and go early as by noon they were packed with only 2 workers up front the line moved slow...

My favorite is the chicken apple crisp. Staff is always friendly. Facility is always clean! My favorite salad spot

Love this place! Salads are amazing and their panini are just as great! Perfect place to grab something light and healthy. Good price! Been going there for some time now.

I phoned in my order just now and it was pretty easy: 1-BBQ Chicken Salad, extra dressing + sauce on the side 1-Macaroni and cheese The girl who took my order informed me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I get there about 10 minutes later, and the place is empty despite 2 young teenage girls apparently waiting for their order. I waited a full 7 minutes at the register while I heard at least 2 or 3 employees cackling in the back. Not just laughing, but out loud belly roll laughs. I also heard the F-word twice. Not so family friendly when your guests at the register can hear what's going on in the back. Another gentleman was in line behind me - apparently EVERYONE is on break having a good time in the back. After the profanity - I yelled "Anybody work here that's not too busy in the back? You've got customers out here." One girl scrambled out and placed the order on the table for the 2 teenagers waiting patiently. Another came out and said "how can I help you?" acting like nothing happened. I informed her that I was waiting quite a long time and was there to pick up my phone order. She STARTED making my salad just then. Really? It's been way past 15 minutes - and you JUST decided to do your job? I would have walked out of there, but I promised my son Mac N Cheese and he was hungry. The girl pretended like nothing was wrong. I asked if everyone was on break??? I informed her that I am sure her boss isn't paying for their good time in the back and wouldn't appreciate losing the business (because of some young ill mannered staff). She said, your MAC n Cheese will be out in 5 minutes!!! WTH! It's been 25 minutes now and THERE ARE NO OTHER CUSTOMERS AHEAD OF ME. I would tell the owner that he/she is at the mercy of these idiots and after putting together such a wonderful concept, I would hate for this place to fizzle out in the years to come because customers were not treated with any form of "customer service". Very disappointing. Oh - and I never got my extra side of BBQ Sauce Dressing. Nor was any mixed in. So I had to concoct it at home myself. I just paid $10 for a half-made salad. Thanks Saladmakers.

Salad Makers hits the spot without making you feel guilty for getting fast food. Because they are super fast in making your salads. The salads are extremely generous- a half salad is more than enough of a portion and for only a couple dollars more you can get a full size salad. My favorite thing to get is the family's specials for $5.50 which is a half portion. Today is Buffalo Chicken and I'm really happy. Their Chicken Apple Crisp is probably my favorite. It's light, crispy, and refreshing! If you don't want salads, they have sandwiches, pizzas, and gyros.

  • Mike A.

Easy, fast, convenient, and HEALTHY! I got the Cobb wrap and my gf got the Caesar salad and the lettuce was crisp and fresh. They give you the perfect amount of dressing. They also serve pasta salad, gyros, pitas, sandwiches, personal size pizza and desserts.

  • Elijah R.

Place is ok, nothing really too special. you can do so many things with salads, considering they're called salad makers , I feel they need to really step their game up. The pizza was really gross, I don't know what it was about it, it was just really bad.

  • Judith A.

Great salads, but disappointed with the service today. I had two salads to order and after waiting in line one employee made my first salad, but the other then skipped over two the next person in line, both of his orders were then made and he was asked to pay and his order finished before the second part of my order was started on. It would be nice not to be skipped over. It may or may not be a policy, but some feedback: if there are multiple employees making salads, they should work to make sure people that have been waiting in line are taken care of. (And it's not like I had a pizza or something that would have taken longer or had to be cooked). All in all, I will come back because I like the food, but am disappointed in the service I received today.

Food is good, but customer service is an embarrassment. I just came in (I'm here right now) looking a hot mess because I have just finished a session at the gym across the street. Wanting to make a healthy decision, I came here. I chose this place to spend $ on and I had high hopes. Here's the rundown on my experience: I walk in and immediately a younger Asian girl with orangey/brown hair and a mole on the left side of her cheekbone says "do you know what you want already." -_- When I finally make a decision, she starts ringing me up with NO eye contact, no interaction and I could absolutely feel her irritated vibes. I sit down and a few Brentwood moms who look lovely and polished walk in. The girl ever-so-chipper says "HIIIII GUYS!!! HOW ARE YOU LADIES DOING?! HOW CAN I HELP YOU?!!" Uh-huh. I have been here plenty of times and I see the ongoing trend of employees who are too quick to judge. This girl fails at realizing that no matter what the appearance of a customer is, money is money. The same money that I spent at SM is the money that funds the business WHICH is your current employer, no? Salad Makers, I adore your wraps, but with your lack of customer service, you're doing your guests a disservice :)

I found old rotten pieces of lettuce in my salad and I'm not okay with that at all when I'm paying $7 for a half salad. Not happy.

Got the chicken mango salad. Salad had all fresh ingredients. I say this as not every salad you get now a days have fresh produce. Salad dressing was great without being to heavy. Great food with low calories. Would have given 5 if they're was something else you received with your salad for $10. Would definitely recommend if you like salad and variety.

First time trying this location. The first Salad Makers we went to was in Livermore so we knew what to expect here. This location did not disappoint. The staff was friendly. As usual their salads are HUGE! Get a 1/2 salad, it's more than enough for one person. One of these days I'll try a full just to see how big it is. I just love the build your own salad option. Going down the line & picking out all the veggies I want. Great salads, fresh veggies & the price is great!

The staff is great at this place. Buffalo chix salad was ok. But their Greek Salad is the best. Love it!!!

I've been lucky to go to both locations the one in Brentwood and in LIvermore. The salads are large portions and always hit the spot My favorite is the chicken pesto panini. It's soooo good. Highly recommend if your in Brentwood or Livermore !! That was fun, let's go again!

Salad Makers has definitely improved over time and I am glad to make Salad Makers one of my go to places for a lunch or dinner. My favorite is the Japanese Wasabi Salad, very fresh ingredients and easily enough for 2 people. Some of the salad barristas have some attitude, but overall the service is good. One odd thing is their hours...Even though the rest of the mall is open, Salad Makers closes promptly at 8PM.

  • Kyle W.

This is my second time eating food from here. First time was from a friend that just grabbed me something. And after that I had to come back. I've only had a gyro both times, but still damn good. Will definitely eat here again and would recommend it to anyone.

I love this place. I come here on my lunch. Its quick, healthy, clean, the employees seem nice & its so good! I usually order the Veggie Wrap, defiantly my favorite item of the menu, the greek salad is great too! its a bonus that they have vegetarian options) good spot!

CLOSES WAY EARLY. Came at 7pm on a Monday night and what do you know? Closed. Hella early. Change your hours listed on here. Guess it's fast food for me tonight. LAME. who closes at 7?!

I really REALLY want to like this place. There needs to be a great salad/soup joint in Brentwood... But... They are not Lettuce (Walnut Creek) I will forever hold any salad place to that level and they just do not meet that level. They are super slow. Like super painfully slow. There is some mystery panini maker in the back and I swear it's centered in a black hole. Twice I've been there and it smells really bad. Like hold breath bad. Not sure if it's some weird combination of garbage, cleaning supplies and herbs, but I couldn't even wait in there while duder got food last time.

  • Mary P.

Salad Makers is great but there are some concerns. First of all the last couple of times i have been in there the staff is so rude. There is nothing worse then going somewhere and there are rude employees. I asked for a caesar salad with no chicken and the girl that was making it made the rudest look on her face and to boot she even made it wrong. Also every time you ask for extra dressing because they only put enough to cover half of it, they always make stink about it. Also they never let you finish saying what you would like in your salad or out and start making it and put stuff you don't want in it, in it, and the employees look like they just rolled out of bed. I hate to nag on the staff but having somebody make your food that is so rude is very aggrivating and annoying. Luckily the salads make it worth it.

I have been coming to Salad Makers for quite some time now. When I initially started patronizing their business, the food was amazing and service was quick! However, it seems that it has slowed down as well as the quality of the food. I usually ordered the "make your own" half size because it was more than enough to get me full. My son always orders the Apple Bacon Panini, which he loves. Now my take on this...the portions have definitely changed. A half-size was more like a full-size and now it's small yet paying the same price. Also, with sandwiches and such...yes, it takes extremely long to make it! They do make your salads first, which I think should be the last thing to be made if you are waiting 15 minutes or so for your sandwich. As many have commented here, I am also peeved about the hours! Google says 7pm, which I was typically accustomed to. However, on their website, it says 8pm. Today I darted my car over to them before 7pm, which I always do. We arrived at 6:49, got out the car, walk half way to the door and "click-click", one of the female workers is locking the door. No way...maybe is unlocking it. Then the place is dark, no she didn't! It's 6:50, we are literally walking up to the door and they are closing? Huge disappointment for us! We ended up having to drive all the way to Wendy's to get a salad and a burger. I'm so disappointed with this place now. It seems that the staff has changed, and maybe that is the reason for the inconsistency. When I first started eating there, it was a tall middle-aged gentleman who always greeted me and made my salads, I am going to assume he is the owner. I can't remember the last time I saw him. Every since his absence, each time they are losing another star. Yes, Salad Makers, get it together! You are going to lose business and it's a shame because some many people want to eat there. :(

Beat salad place hands down!! The women were friendly and made the food with love an kindness.. Was quick, efficient and berry generous with there salad dressing! Although the restroom was temporarily out of order i still give 2 thumbs up..

I am a huge fan of salad makers. They are always so nice and friendly and they have GREAT customer service. They get 5 stars on the service part. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it's always warm when I go in there to eat. I don't know about you but a salad place in my opinion should be kept cool so all the ingredients stay cool. Other than that it is a great spot to get a salad!

  • Mayra M.

First timer here. Had the 1/2 chicken pesto panini and 1/2 Caesar salad . I really enjoyed my food . The salad had a big portion with a good amount of dressing and the panini was small but enough . Also I like that they have fresh real avocado ! I can't stand when restaurants say they have fresh avocado but use the pre packages spreads And the service was really friendly :) My boyfriend ordered the chicken gyro and tomato soup . He was happy with both . By the way watch out for the tooth picks holding the gyro together ! I will defiantly be back. This place is perfect for a light healthy lunch or dinner that doesn't leave you feeling fat and regretful about your meal lol which happens sometimes when eating out

This used to be a staple for us when we wanted a good salad. My wife went to get us our usual wasabi salad and it went down hill from there. They made it wrong, and then they seemed bothered to make it over and then still didn't make it right. The attitude was like she was a bother to them. We love to support local business but not when treated horrible and that our business in unimportant.

Not bad. I like heartier fare, but overall pretty healthy food here. I just don't get full...

Alright. So I have had so many awesome experiences here. The salads are amazing and for a half size salad, great huge portion to fill you up. But. The past two times I have wanted to come here, there's been a problem. My boyfriend and I LOVE Salad Makers and have been craving a salad here for weeks. The first time we tried to go, it was 6:47 and the girl working inside was locking up! You're still supposedly open for another 13 minutes, honey. So we didn't end up getting our craving filled that night. We left. Disappointed. Last week, we went again to go try to eat. This time is was 6:15. Plenty of time to be able to eat and leave before they close at 7. I make a joke to my boyfriend that 'they're probably gonna be closed haha' Well. Close enough. They were only taking To-Go orders. Really?! I have a 3 year old with me and we live in Pittsburg. That's not going to work. So again, we left. Disappointed. Bottom line, I'm pretty much over trying to eat here right now. I feel there is one last possible chance I would be willing to give, but these employees and owners need to get it together. ESPECIALLY closing at 7?! Lots of people consider 7pm a dinner hour. I consider you keep your doors open an hour longer until 8pm.

My mom and I were really excited to try out a new place for lunch and left extremely disappointed. We ordered the Chicken and Apple Salad and the Chicken Pesto Panini. The chicken they use seems like it is pre-packaged, pre-cooked, and not very flavorful or tasty. The panini was pretty small and rather pathetic. The panini's cheese wasn't even melted and really didn't have much to it. The balsamic on the salad was bitter and tart and did not leave you wanting to take another bite. We will not be back.

    (1)
  • Stacey M.

EXCELLANT quality and generous amounts. However, they could work on being nice and friendly and speed up the panini service. The ambiance is quite lacking as well. Great food though!

  • Steve N.

I love salad. They make some good ones. Although they have other items like pizzas and sandwiches, I wanted salad. Good salad. You can build your own, but they also have featured salads to choose from. Mrs. N. and I decided to split and share the Chicken Apple Crisp and the "Hail to Caesar". While the value for the dollar could be in question, these salads were tasty and filling. They build them to order, which is good when business is slow. However, my order to go was not especially snappy. Oh well. At the end of it all, I went there for salads. I got some descent salads, and will probably go back.

  • Michelle S.

Wow, I thought everyone on here was just exaggerating. It's all true! They are shutting the doors early. Apparently their own convenience is way more important to them than the customers' convenience. I went there at 6:20pm on a weeknight (Friday no less, when the Streets of Brentwood was PACKED with foot traffic) and they were locked up! I saw them inside cleaning up. What is this place thinking? If you want to close at 6pm and just want to concentrate on the lunch crowd (not sure why you'd do that in the suburbs...), then SAY SO. Don't freakin advertise that you're open until 7pm if you are going to allow your employees to lock up early. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and a complete waste of my time. I've never had much problem with the salads when I've been able to get one, but not sure if I'll be trying to get one again anytime soon. This is not like going to the Safeway strip mall. Going to the Streets of Brentwood just to get a salad is a chore. You better make sure it's worth the trip. I've told all my neighbors and local friends don't bother going. I'd love to see a salad place survive here, but not one that thinks so little of their customers.

  • Doug F.

I love this place! Healthy, fresh, generous portion on there 1/2 salads. Wife and I always hit this place up before a movie. Bleu cheese crumbles only a quarter extra. If you don't mind not so clean tables and almost always a hair in your food then it's great. Don't go there at 7:30 they turn off open sign and dinning room lights they are suppose to close at 8?

I love this place. I had their Thursdays special. Half buffalo chicken salad for $5! So yummy! I will be coming back to try all of the other specials. Yum!

Great Salads we had a small salad and sandwiche which was less then 10bucks money well spent

Food was good, employees were beyond rude, constantly trying to "close" an hour before closing and have everything to go an hour before closing and never smiled and have horrible attitudes, nice food just need different employees

Went to Salad Makers for the first time today and had a great experience. Hubby got the make your own and I ordered the Brentwood House Salad, both full orders. The very friendly staff made some HUGE salads. We were able to make 2 meals out of each of the salads. Loved the balsamic and dijon dressings on the Brentwood House, and the pears in the salad were perfect. Hubby was also happy with his make your own. Will be returning!

  • Jun G.

It took them forever just to make a roast beef panini and there was no one before us. Should not take 30mins for a small panini when you barely have customers. Nothing special about it either and was pretty small. Salads are good half order fills one.

  • Rob N.

First high-quality salad restaurant to make it to the Far-East Bay. Simple, easy, they offer a great make-your own option that comes in two sizes (currently a half for $7 and a whole for $9, though I'm pretty sure you could feed two people on a half). The staff and management were top-notch. Clean environment with plenty of seating. Highly recommend.

  • Cass R.

I love this place. They have taken a simple idea and made it great. They prepare salads in front of you similar to how "Subway" makes a sandwich. They have other items like soups and sandwich's but I have yet to try those because I am hooked on their " Greek" salad. I keeps saying I will try something else when I go but I always order the same thing! Their portions are big. A half order can feed two in my opinion, a full order definitely can. So if your in the mood for a good salad stop in and try them.

    (5)
  • Ethan G.

I consistently come back here because I love salad, and they're great at making them. Although a bit redundant, you get what you want here. They have a $5 special salad every day of the week, which usually dictates what I order. If not, always order a full-sized salad and then have your dressing on the side. I think the pricing for the half-salad without the special isn't right, so it's better to order the full and just bring the rest home for later. Regardless of sizing and pricing, I haven't had a bad one yet! All of their produce is fresh, and even with a line it's quick.

If I could give this place NO stars, I would. My hubby and I came here to have a healthy quick lunch after a movie at the nearby AMC. He ordered a 1/2 salad, 1/2 sandwich combo. I ordered a sandwich. The person taking your order makes your salad right away, but then disappears to tell the back kitchen your sandwich order. Hubby got his salad and drink right away and paid for our meal. We were given a number and took a seat. He ate his salad, which wasn't as generously portioned as other reviews make them out to be. About 10 minutes later, he received his sandwich, and the girl that brought it out said mine would be out in a minute. Hubby's sandwich was hot, so he waited a few minutes before digging in to it. My sandwich still had not arrived. After the same girl brought out someone else's sandwich that had ordered three people behind us and passing our table offering no explanation for the delay of mine, and my hubby finished his sandwich, I went to the cashier and stated that in the 30 minutes we sat in the restaurant, my husband had finished his lunch and I had not received mine and that I wanted a refund on my sandwich. The cashier seemed to smirk, and knowing exactly what sandwich I ordered, gave me a cash refund for just mine. If this establishment can only make salads quickly and isn't able to do things like say Panera, they shouldn't be in business or perhaps they should only offer salads. My husband said the food was okay, but $9 for a 1/2 salad, 1/2 sandwich combo given the portion sizes, when Panera offers the same for $8 with better quality and efficiency, is a bit pricy. Additionally, the place is not very clean inside, which leads me to believe that if the visible part of the restaurant isn't clean, what does the back kitchen look like....GROSS!!!

I've been coming here for lunch a couple of times a month since they opened. In the past year things seem to have gone down hill. Service: There seems to be a lot of people working, but the tables are dirty, the drink bar is messy, and they are always out of at least one drink (today it was unsweetened ice tea). The 3 girls working ignored me as I waited to order. They were restocking the salad ingredients. I waited 5 minutes before anyone asked if they could help me. Food: The salads are good, but over priced. They have changed their balsamic vinegarette dressing and it's not nearly as good. It's nice that they make your salads right in front of you. Unfortunately, the sandwiches take forever to make. I'm usually finished with my salad before my husband even gets his gyro. I think this place could be better if they would hire better employees. The young girls they have behind the counter don't seem very interested in customer service.

I really liked this clean, simple approach to salad making. Come in, grab a HUGE salad, and chill on their outdoor patio seating. The space is open and modern--there's definitely enough seating so you won't be waiting around. I had the Brentwood salad and it was amazing. They offer about 12 different salads, gyros, and a number of other healthy options. Even though Brentwood is kind shi shi and snooty, I would definitely come here again on a whim if hunger belts loose.

  • Sandee S.

I love this place! They have the best salad varieties, whether you want to make your own salad or if you want to have one of the salads they've already laid out the ingredients for. Note that their portions run large, so you will be satisfied with a half-size salad! The only problem I have sometimes is that they run out of ingredients rather quickly, especially during the lunch hour. I look forward to having my salad with different types of veggies (including mushrooms and cucumbers), but they were out of many vegetables!! Also, they have really great panini's! I thoroughly enjoyed the pesto chicken panini, and would recommend having that with a half salad.

  • Liz Z.

The salads here are very delicious, very fresh and the portions are big. The only thing that seemed like a problem is they must have been short staffed the day I was there, they had a line out the door and only 2 people working. Other then that the place is good.

  • Jane C.

I've been going to Salad Makers since it opened; used to be a great, healthy alternative to the typical fast good. But had it ever gone downhill! The staff is rude, they constantly run out of their staple ingredients but the topper for me has been the closing times! Last time I was there it was 6:40 & I was rudely informed as I walked in the door "Takeout only!" Tonight it was 7:05 & it was closed even though the website & even Yelp says it's open til 8:00. Do they not realize most everyone in Brentwood commutes?! Get it together Salad Makers or you'll be closing like a lot of the other businesses in Streets of Brentwood!

Did this place change ownership?! It is a dirty dump with rude servers. Bathrooms need fixing and my lettuce was a lil brown on the edges. Never going to come here for lunch ever again. My advice skip it and make your own salad at home...

What I love about Salad Makers it that everything is fresh. Nothing is prepackaged and that they get most of their vegetables from local farmer's markets. What Salad Makers offers you is restaurant style salad with the price tag to match, but the quantity and quality are what makes this place unique and completely worth it. Located in the Streets of Brentwood, Salad Makers is a reasonably sized restaurant with indoor seating available. The customer service has always been very patient and helpful and I've never felt rushed or dealt with someone that was rude. If you come in during a busy hour, the line does move at a good pace, but not so quickly that you start to question if they're getting your order done correctly. The salads are incredibly filling. I close to always only eat half my salad and save it for later. These salads are not like the overpriced, prepackaged salads you can buy at the store. The quantity is the best part. You really get what you're paying for and you don't lose quality which for a salad, is pretty amazing. I have yet to try their Gyros but I'm certain it's going to become my new favorite staple very soon.

LOVE this place! It's great to have a healthy alternative in the area. Ingredients are always fresh, staff is very nice and place always looks clean. I would have given Salad Makers all 5 stars but I wish they opened earlier and stayed open later. I have also had the same complaint from co workers and friends I have recommended. Also parking can be a bit difficult because it's located in the streets of Brentwood, but I don't mind walking for a delicious salad! Try the chicken apple crisp, it's my favorite!

I ordered their daily special, which was a 1/2 salad, for only $5! It was flavorful, filling, and so good that I'm coming back again. The bathroom's clean, too.

The salads are really good and fresh. The gyros are okay but not authentic*. Beef is good, chicken is just okay. (They are always running out of gryo beef because 'they are really busy' is what one girl told me after I ordered for the 2nd time in two weeks and again they were out.) Frustrating! Someone needs to place a LARGER order of gyro beef, ya think? *If you want a real beef gryo, totally authentic and extremely good go to Jerry's Hot Dogs in Antioch. They never run out. They have been there for years and know how to properly stock their store.

Stopped in for lunch with some clients- the kids had pizza kid's meals & we all had half sized salads. The pizzas took a while to come out which is always a struggle with hungry kids, but the kids devoured the pizza...so two big thumbs up. I had the apple salad which was very tasty. I opted for no walnuts & light blue cheese- and it was great. my clients both enjoyed their choices, a Greek salad & a BLT salad. $45.00 for 3 salads, 3 drinks & two kids meals seems more like restaurant prices than a salad version of Subway type concept...but all in all a good meal & I'd come back.

I signed up for Yelp to write this review. I took my wife here in the past and had better service and food. One person behind the counter, poor quality ingredients and the place looks dirty. The door where the employees bring the sandwiches out is white except where they grab the door's edge to open and close it. There is a grungy, stained area like it has never been cleaned. What does the rest look like in the back?

Ok so this place is good.. I've gone here for years.. Great salads, huge portions.. Good food. One problem- don't order anything with chicken.. That is unless you want cartilage with your chicken. Every single time.. It's almost not worth going anymore because chicken caesar is.. Was my favorite.

Salads are good but a few of the other items I've had are kinda sucky. $5 daily specials are nice. Wish they stayed open a bit later.

This place is pretty good. So many different salads, sandwiches to choose from, aside from the option of creating your own salad/sandwich combination. The size of the salads are great for the price. I have only been there once, and tried the buffalo chicken salad but it was fantastic and I will definitely be back in the future. Great addition to the Streets of Brentwood.

This place was surprisingly good! Tired of making salads all the time, I decided to leave it in someone else's hands today. I had seen this place and figured to give them a shot. First of all, I wish they had a posting of what times they are open, I arrived a little before 11:30 on Sunday only to find it closed and clueless of what time they will open or if they even were going to open on Sunday. Anyhow, the place appeared clean and well organized nothing fancy just average nice cafeteria style. They have a menu posted above the wall behind the salad bar. I ordered the Apple, Cranberry Chicken Salad- Which comes with gorgonzola cheese, slices of apples, candied walnuts and of course grilled chicken and cranberries with a vinaigrette dressing that I opted on the side. I was pretty hungry so I ordered the full size for $7.49. They prepare the salad in front of you which took less than 5 minutes though, they prepared it decently. I really wasn't expecting much from this place though to my surprise, my salad was exceptionally delicious. Gracious in size, beautiful mixed greens, nice slices of crisp green apples, the chicken had an extremely fresh quality flavor- as for the whole salad and even being it wasn't organic, it did not have any sort of chemically processed taste to the salad what so ever. Overall my salad was quality, flavorful and very satisfying. I actually am looking forward to coming back and trying one of there sandwiches.

Post workout goodness with the lovie. We eyed this place the last time we were in Streets of Brentwood. Lovie had a make your own salad with spinach, romaine, gorgonzola, carrots, kidney beans, red onions, olives, and vinaigrette dressing. The worker dude was so patient as Lovie pointed out a smidge of this, a dash of that, "a little more please." The dude raised his eyebrows when Lovie asked for the whole container of chicken breast (and he wasn't kidding haha) Lovie said the salad was the most delish salad and ate it with a warm pita. I ordered the beef gyro with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and tzatziki sauce. I have no idea what it is with gyro beef...so tender and flavorful and melt in your mouth good. It was pretty decent, though there's no comparison to Jerry's Hot Dogs' gyros. Overall, love the concept of the salad bar/deli. I have a feeling we'll be frequenting this place in the future!

Fresh, simple salads with consistent choices. I am not a picky eater other than trying to eat healthy and eat the rainbow so I usually get the daily special of 1/2 salad for $5. I have enjoyed the BBQ chicken and the apple crisp. I think I could do 1/2 the dressing to make it lower cal next time though . I was excited to find this healthful option when in the area for work!

Considering I didn't get to eat here because they close so earlier, I'm pretty irritated because its hard to eat healthy in brentwood. The only healthy place in this whole city closes at 5..... Won't be going back to try food.

A healthy place to eat; fresh veggies and good service! Only sad thing is that this is the ONLY location! They need to open up a place like this in the East Bay!

First time visiting since I moved here so I thought I would give a try since I love salad! The fact that all the ingredients are all fresh is always great. I tried the Brentwood house salad and I was actually very disappointed. The combo of the honey mustard and vinaigrette didn't taste nearly as good as it sounded for salad dressing not to mention the pears in my salad were cut in huge pieces I ended up having to cut them up again myself . The man who made my salad had a bit of an attitude which is always irritating especially when it reflects on how your business is ran. I do give credit to the gentle man who did ring my order up, he however was very nice. $7 dollars for a large salad that can easily feed 2 people and have a little left over is a great price! I will give this place another try, but ordering something different and hopefully have a different salad maker.

This was my first visit to Salad Makers. The salads were fresh and tasty! I felt that their "daily specials" were a great deal and that you get a lot for your $5! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a FRESH and tasty experience! The employees were very nice as well and very helpful! Only downfall......it was busy and it took quite awhile to move through the line.

i'm not here for customer service man, i'm here for a salad. the salads are HUGE and for 10 bucks i could get a heaping box of salad with all the things i like on it with a huge selection of fresh toppings and a bunch of different dressings. The only thing i really don't like about this place is the fact that they close so early. Its so hard to eat healthy in this area, and this seems to be the only place where i can get fast, easy, healthy food for a very reasonable price. i also love that they have this little notes about their toppings that say the benefits of like walnuts, or dried cranberries, those little touches make it fun to eat healthy. Reading the reviews all saying horrible customer service, I've never really experienced it, though sometimes when you ask for a like premade type of salad, like say a cobb salad, but you want substitutes, they move a little bit too fast and sometimes they have to start over but it was my fault for not speaking up before they put the topping i didn't want in the salad. Please change your hours to stay open later guys, I get hungry at night and don't want to eat fast food.

I have eaten at this place a couple times and both times has been a good experience. Based on the name, you might think you can only get salads here. However, they have a few sandwiches, gyros, and pizza. I think the pizzas are made on the gyro bread, so don't expect to see pizza dough twirling behind the counter. They have about 8 different salad recipes and all of them look very tasty. Or if none of those whet your appetite, you can always create your own. The selection isn't phenominal, but they have most of what you would want. If you can't decide on just one thing, they have some combos, things like 1/2 salad and 1/2 sandwich. They also usually have a special salad of the day that you can get at a discount. And for you calorie counters out there, they help you by posting the calories of their creations to help you make your belly filling choices. I tried the Brentwood Special and was completely happy. A half salad is enough unless you are really hungry. It apears to be a local business and it was hoppin' on the day I was there. Definitely check it out.

I don't know how these places make it with the WORST customer service in the world. There are snotty little twits serving at this place who don't give a rip about the people they are there to serve. I'm not asking for much - just a little hello (and mean it) and a little explanation along the way (counter service only). This chick was so rude. I mean no customer service whatsoever - what was a mediocre lunch was ruined by this experience. You know - you are there because of the customer - this is lost on this place and it amazes me. P.S. they serve chards of plastic - not real parmasean. Gross - and what they don't tell you, anything you substitute or add is 25 cents. Salad and a sandwich $15.00 bucks.

Salad Makers is a staple in my weekly lunch schedule. The food is always fresh and the customer service is great. They remember my order! The owner is usually in around lunch time and is always very friendly and attentive. The only bad thing is that it can get super busy around lunch time (noon). Would definitely recommend!

This place is great for salads...I'll give them that and that's the only reason I'm giving them two stars. The food is good, albeit completely overpriced. However, do NOT plan your family dinner based on the hours posted on their website, or on what they tell you when you call and ask what time they close. Regardless of their posted hours and regardless of what they tell you, they close whenever they feel like it. On NUMEROUS occasions (more than 5 different times), we have gone to Salad Makers in the middle of the day and they've been closed. Tonight, I planned to get Salad Makers for my family for dinner. I called them at 1pm and asked what time they closed. They told me 5pm. I don't like the dressings offered at Salad Makers (personal preference) and prefer to make my own. So, my son went to the grocery store and got the ingredients for my salad dressing, which I made and set in the fridge. Then, we went out to Salad Makers to get our salads. It was 4pm. They were closed. I'm furious. Maybe it's "just" an inconvenience, and yes they are allowed to close when they want, but if that's how you want to run your business, don't post hours on your website...just say "we close on a whim, whenever we feel like it". And do not tell a customer that you close at 5pm and then actually close at 4pm. To have the store closed at totally random, inconsistent times is really annoying. How does this place expect to stay in business that way? Get it together, Salad Makers. We've been coming there since you opened at The Streets of Brentwood and since then, you've continuously disappointed us. It's not even worth it anymore.

I ate here for the first time today. Delicious greek salad. A half order salad is plenty big. The guy who rang me up could use a good dose of personality. I will go back.

I love salad makers, it's nice to have a place to get a nice salad. I love the Cobb salad and the chicken cease salad and I like the fact that I can make it how I want. Reasonably priced for the amount you get.
