After a long day behind the wheel of our motorhome, my wife and I were referred to the Roadhouse Grill by the manager of the RV Park where we were staying. First off, the beer was ice cold and got things off to a good start. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. Timely food service. Wife had the Ribeye and I had the BBQ Chicken/Baby Back Ribs special. Great tasting food. Terrific laid back family atmosphere. Some little kids were dancing by the Jukebox, making for a fun atmosphere.

I usually go to Outback Steakhouse....basically because that's what I have close to home unless I want to go into the city...and you can usually add an extra $10-20 onto the trip with parking, etc..so I was in Bakersfield and craving a steak. Roadhouse was suggested so we tried it....Flavor of food and service was better than back home and snacking on the peanuts was pretty cool while we waited - both before our table and at it while our order was being made. We caught them in-between shift change so it was a little backed up and dis-organized....so I'd give it another try at a different time to see if it's functioning more like a well oiled machine ...

Nothing too special about this place. The food they serve is obviously "chain restaurant" food, and I suspect that nothing is actually made on the premises. Service is always ok, and they have a decent, if not extensive selection of beers, but the food is just so-so. The only reason we've gone there a few times is becaus they stay open much later than other places on Rosedale.

Dropped in on a Sunday for lunch and a lovely adult beverage. We opted to sit in the bar to see the TV screens and sports. The bartender was at our tableside immediately with menus and to take drink orders. When she returned with drinks we placed food orders (grilled chicken, sweet potato fry's, grilled vegetables). While it took a few minutes longer than I expected for the food to arrive, it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The hot rolls and honey butter are to die for!!

I ate there the other night and I waited an hour for my steak and it was over cooked and burnt on the bottom I sent it back and 45 min later I told them to for get it because two hours was long enough and the bad part they weren't even busy there were empty tables throughout

The Strawberry Lemonade here is a must. They frost the glass with shaved ice and makes the experience one of a kind. Cool atmosphere with the peanuts all over, etc Definately better than Logans Roadhouse

Don't know why this happened today, but we were the FIRST patrons in at 11AM when they opened. Greeter was great! The waitress must have not wanted to be there today, because she barely looked at us, asked if she could do anything more, and even got our SALAD orders WRONG, which is all we ordered. We filled up on the great rolls, and peanuts. BY NOON, when our SALADS came, we will full! WORST experience ever with service. NOT GOING BACK... expect maybe to do takeout....

Used to love their dinner salad with crisp romaine lettuce, red onions, bacon, cheese and ranch dressing. Not too healthy, but so good! Went back for a friend's birthday and tried to order a similar salad, but it was all iceberg and just not the same quality as before. This place used to be good.

Food was excellent !! I had the filet minion it was cooked exactly as I asked med rare. Very tasty ! The only problem was they advertised a "prime rib special " on chalk board as soon as you walk in ,however the price is same as it is not on special . They need to fix that . Management was very pleasant when we asked about this. I think her name was Joy, thank you Joy!

our daughter has a specific diet and here she can eat with us. we go there so much that the staff know her order before we sit down. today was not the case. our service was horrible. food was cold and dry probably due to sitting out before being brought to out table. may have to find another place for our daughter and our business.

Last night I had the grilled catfish and a house salad. Unfortunately I got a bad case of diarrhea. It was probably the catfish because it did not appear to be fully cooked. Was raw in places. I will not return.

I can't say enough about this place! The food is DELICIOUS! I love the Texas Eggrolls- sweet and spicy! Their dinner/side salad is so good. Most places just give you lettuce and maybe croutons. But they put cheese and bacon on theirs- so good! The server, Kerri, was nice and friendly. And the lunch specials are a great deal: $7.99-$9.99 and you get a lot of food. They give you really good rolls and butter so we never leave hungry, and usually have leftovers- even with the lunch specials. And they have a great children's menu offering chicken strips, steak, ribs, and more. My son and I both love it!

Last couple of times there steak was served raw; had to send it back. Service was not great. New menu, raised prices. Now you have to pay to use the jukebox. Come on. I'd rather you take away the free stale peanuts!

A couple of days ago I went with my family for my grandmothers birthday. I have been several times and had no issues but that was my wife and I only. That night there were 5 of us. We wanted to watch the Dodger game so we sat in the bar. Prior to the shift switch, my wife received great service (she held the table for us). The replacement then arrived. We waited a half hour for her to come take our order. I had to order drinks from her at the bar myself as during the entire 2+ hours we were there, she came to our table twice, and once was to take the order. All of our orders were wrong and I had to bus our table as the dishes were piling up. I had to eat the chili with a fork. The food was good when we got it right but that was the worst serving experience. BTW, there were maybe 6 other tables in the bar area. She then complained to another employee and US about her being so busy. This place is good if it is you and a date but stay away from larger parties and steer clear of the bar if you want to eat. We were not the only table complaining.

For a nice afternoon lunch and not too heavy chicken and ribs with baked potato and salad. My partner had the boubou rib-bye with baked potato an baked beans. Our server Carrie was outstanding Checked on us and the price was really worth it. We brought a 85 year old lady and this was her first time here and she is in love with place. She liked the steak and everything. She said when her son comes out here from back east she's going to bring him here. Thank you roadhouse for making this lady very happy.

This was the first time at The Roadhouse, The house beer was great,a taste somewhere between Stella Artois and any IPA. The chicken and rib dinner is what I had and is well prepared. I mentioned to management the decor and atmosphere is attractive. The Jim Beam:Devils Cut is what sold me on the place. Thank you for the excellent service. I hope to visit this restaurant soon

Great steaks. Loved the Broil. Biggest, baddest sweet potatoes ever. Excellent rolls. Service is mediocre to good. But the food and large portions will keep me coming back.

I haven't been here in a while....thought I would give it a try. Food was not great....service was worse. My daughter and I went for a late lunch on a Saturday. It was not busy but service was very slow. Food was not cooked correctly and was very bland. We did receive a 10% "comp" on our bill however we did not complain about foor or service.....and where never given a reason why we were given a discount. I would suggest that someone asks how our service was (especially when the "lunch" was not touched) and fix it rather than give a 10% comp.

Sat night dinner. We sat at the bar for no wait. Our waitress, Jen, was good, very serviceable and attentive. The only thing is she recommended the Cognac sauce for my grilled chicken but failed to tell me it was $3 more. Oh well, no biggie. The kids Mac n cheese was bland, my little guy left it all & only ate his broccoli. We also ordered the Roadhouse Broil Dinner..its marinated with red wine, soy sauce, & garlic, among other seasonings. If you don't like soy sauce, don't order this for the soy sauce overpowers all other flavors and seasonings. Otherwise one of my fave places to go! Bread-4.5 stars Texas Egg Rolls-5 stars Chicken w Cognac sauce-3 stars Steak-2 stars Mac N Cheese-3.5 Alcoholic lemonade-3.75 Service-5 Atmosphere-5

Roadhouse Grill is definitely your typical meat-eaters type of restaurant. Although service is generally friendly, it's almost always slow. Last time we went with our 3- and 7-year old, they ended up having epic meltdowns due to how slowly we received our food and check. (Like seriously, adults served way before kids- who does that?) The food is pretty mediocre- meat covered in butter, not cooked properly to specification, salads covered in cheese, etc. And all at a pretty hefty price. However, gotta love the shelled peanuts and the complimentary bread rolls are bomb! All in all, pretty meh. But I'd call this traditional Bakersfield fare.

I went here with some friends looking for a nice dinner and some comfort food. This place did not disappoint. At first the service was slow. It took about 15 minutes to get our drink order, but we were waiting for our spouses to arrive so it wasn't too big of a deal. Our server, Cassie, was great. She had wonderful recommendations and and a quick wit in response to my fiances sarcasm. The next time I return, I will most likely ask to be seated in her section. We ordered the Texas Eggrolls as well as the Salmon Eggrolls. The Texas Eggrolls were okay, but the Salmon Eggrolls were great! Each of us ordered a different kind of steak. I was actually amazed at how tender my rib-eye was, not to mention a perfect medium rare. The baked sweet potato was outstanding. Overall, the food was definitely above average for the most part. I did order the baked beans as my 2nd side, but they had a strange taste to them. I left most of them on the plate. I would come here again, though I generally don't enjoy noisy restaurants. I suppose that is part of the charm of this place though.

Happy hour was on at the bar! Peanuts everywhere - fun! They are the good salty ones that will make you drink even more! (good trick!) We sat in the bar area to take advantage of some drinks and appies. Duh, I did not even think that the good vodka would not be included in Happy Hour. Oh well, the well stuff makes me sick anyways. Beer was cheaper and appies were $5 so we partook in the most popular appy (Texas Spring Rolls with jalapeno and cream cheese) as well as the boneless wings which comes with a few sticks of celery and a few tortilla chips. If you like bourbon, try this flavor of wings. Very good. The food being just 2 appies took a long time to come and the place was not very busy. Service at the bar was spotty but very friendly. If you are in the mood for a casual Texan, true Roadhouse experience, this may be your spot!

THIS WAS THE FIRST AND THE LAST TIME FOR THIS RESTAURANT. The worst steak ever. I ordered the 8oz ribeye. It came as a flat steak. No more than 1/4 inch thick and flavored only with pepper. Other than pepper no seasoning whatsoever. I covered it with A1 to make it edible. Even then it was full of fat and sinew. When I asked the server if this was the way they always serve ribeye she told me that sometimes it comes out this way and other times it comes out smaller and thicker. I don't think it was even a ribeye. The garlic mashers were very good as was the caesar salad. (Eek Methinks not) really doesnt cover it. There needs to be a lower category.

I went in last week and it was fairly busy during the night I waited for a while and was a little annoyed because of how packed it was however the peanuts were cute and my kids were entertained. I was sat in kyela sterner section and was extremely satisfied with her service. She needs a raise for her above and beyond guest satisfaction. My kids loved her and felt very comfortable which is saying a lot because my kids are quite shy. Next time I go in I will ask for her. Very pleased

If I could give them less stars I would. We just left the Roadhouse after our very first and last visit. After ordering it took a hour and 10 min to get our food. It just got progressively worse both me and my husband sent our food back. Between a steakhouse not knowing how to cook a rare steak and my water downed Margarita it was a horrible experience.

I'm old school. I want my pork well done. I asked for to be. It arrived medium - rare. Back it went. Back it came. I was given the option, if it isn't right we can recook it, cook a new one or remove it from the bill. I chose remove from the bill. It was medium to medium well. Still not well. The chicken was different. The bones were easy to cut through. I have never seen chicken bones flimsy or rubbery. It was weird. Second time, they don't know home to cook.

Good food and poor service. Only had one server on the floor at 2:30 pm. She had way to many tables. Manager just looked on and didn't help her. I would re-train the managers. 5/27/15

I've gone to this place before and the food is good. I'm just really disappointed in their customer service. My friend and I came around 820pm at a fairly slow Sunday night. We sat down and the waitress took our drinks and appetizer (in a reasonable time, I thought). But then about 10-15 minutes later still no drinks and complimentary bread. We were starting to wonder wth?! Finally we get our drinks and bread, but still no appetizer. BUT the waitress took our meal order. Another 5-10 minutes passed by, finally get our appetizer (Texas Egg Rolls) but they dropped one on the ground. We had to wait again to get the one egg roll. After waiting another 20 minutes, we got our meal order. We are finally eating at about 915pm, an hour after we got there. The waitress asked once if we needed anything when she had dropped off the food. She didn't return until I stopped her to ask her for a to go box. She returned with the box and bill. The food was good, but not good enough to deal with their customer service. The chili was salty, but everything else in taste wasn't too bad. My advice is, if you're hungry, don't come here (or you could eat their free peanuts). However, the free peanuts we got ourself because no one bought us any. Smh I was disappointed.

We often go to Roadhouse to sit down and enjoybour meal. This time we ordered ahead and picked up our food to-go. The to-go service was great! They gave us a pick up time of 30 minutes and when we got there the order was hot and ready. Check out was fast and they gave us all the condiments we needed and utensils. As far as the food goes, we usually get steaks and entrees, but this time we just ordered thd Texas eggrolls, side salad, and a sweet potato. All of the items ordered to-go were just as good as when we eat them at the restaurant. By far, our favorite thing at Roadhouse is the Texas eggrolls. They are the perfect combo of sweet and spicy. The outside is fried and crispy and inside you find cream cheese and jalapeno. The sweet comes from the sauce called jalapeno jelly (it's consistency is a little more liquid than jelly). Ths combo of the two is pure Heaven in your mouth! As you can see, we had them for our main course and not just the appetizer. The side salad was good...nothing really different or special than anything you get anywhere else. My husband loves the sweet potato. They cook them just perfect and add butter and brown sugar on top. One thing I was disappointed about were the rolls. They have changed their yeast rolls and they aren't as good as they use to be. We like to go into the restaurant and enjoy the table service, but on nights when it's not feasible the pick up option is great!

The food is decent for the costs. It came out hot and tasted fresh. The drinks were good as well. If you want to go for the food, then this is the place to go. However, I go for the service. That is where this restaurant falls short. My server wasn't slow, she was just overworked. She was helping multiple tables, bussing other tables, and making desserts. My other issue is with the good prep. My server did not wear a hair net or gloves, yet was prepping desserts. Unsure how sanitary that is since she is also bussing tables. So I wasn't too comfortable with that. The food is good, but the service is slow. So it's an equal trade off.

I enjoy going to this chain restaurant once in awhile. They are a good 3.5 star destination! Why do I like going to Original Roadhouse Grill? I I Love littering here! We have been to this location several times over the years. Recently, we brought my in-laws here. To paraphrase what they said, "what is going on here? there is peanut shells all over the floor!" My mother in law was wondering why is the health department allowing this!! LOL After explaining that this is part of the charm of the place and that it is perfectly normal, they were fine. Here is my list of positives for this Original Roadhouse Grill: 1. I really like chowing down on the peanuts in a shell, and then tossing the empty shells on the ground!! 4 stars for these! 2. Atmosphere is loud at times, but I like the decor of the place. 4 stars 3. Their fresh baked rolls are absolutely delicious!! 5 stars for those puppies! 4. Texas Egg Rolls are tasty! 3.5 stars As for the rest of the food here, I am not a fan. That is not to say that anything has been bad. On the contrary, the various steaks, ribs, chicken, and pork meals that we have had here over the years have been okay. Just nothing really special that would have us coming back every few months. Service is hit and miss. Some staff are really good while others are really Not good. Overall, in my opinion, Original Roadhouse Grill is a fine establishment to go to once in while. The peanuts in a shell and their baked rolls are enough reason for us to visit this place from time to time.

On a whim, my husband and I came here tonight for dinner. We probably wouldn't have come here if it wasn't for a gift card we received. We were seated immediately when we entered the restaurant. Plenty of seating available tonight! We ordered the following: (1) Roadhouse chicken wings - 10 pieces with 3 sauces on the side, over a platter of chips & 4 celery sticks & ranch dressing $9.99, 1 lb. You have an option of selecting half pound of chicken wings or a full pound - we got the 1 lb and it came with 10 wings. The server told us it would come with 14 wings, but I guess not? 3 sauces on the side included: bourbon, bbq, and buffalo. The menu advertised blue cheese dressing for the celery, but we got ranch instead. Not sure if they even noticed? (2) Jim Bean ribeye $23.99, juicy slab of ribeye! nicely cooked to 'medium'. the special seasoning (aka Jim Bean style) made the ribeye taste sweet and tangy at the same time. The ribye also came topped w/ thin onion rings. Each entree comes with 2 sides; I ordered the baked sweet potato and it was huge - I didn't even eat it because I was so full from the rest of my meal. My other side was the 'house chili' - a small bowl; way too salty, not much meat, just lots of tomato for some reason. (3) Bourbon Tri-Tip $17.99, with house salad, house soup (beef stew) - really tender tri-tip, hit of bourbon, good portion size, not dry at all Our meal also came with a basket of the freshest, warmest, softest Bread rolls ever. It was a bit sweet and just amazingly wonderful. 4 stars. Be careful not to eat too many of them before your meal! Oh - and last thing, they brought over a large pail of peanuts for every table!

Came here at about 3 in the afternoon so obviously there was no wait, only about 4 other tables. We ordered iced teas and I of course had a mixed drink. As other reviews stayed, it didn't really taste like there was any alcohol in it , but , I did feel it a short time later. So we proceeded to order dinner. All entrees come with a choice of 2 sides . Quit a few items to choose from but say if u wanted soup n salad, that's all u would get and then ur entree. I had the Caesar salad but it had way too much dressing on it. I asked for no croutons and maybe they would have absorbed some of the dressing . It was good though , chilled salad plates and forks, lots of fresh Parmesan and fresh cracked pepper . They also serve rolls with honey butter that was really good. Light and fluffy rolls. My husband had 1/2 order of pork ribs, our friend a steak and I had salmon. We all liked our entrees . The portions were normal , not too much, so don't expect oversized portions like some places serve . We all finished our plates and were satisfied . We didn't have desserts . The decor is kinda country. Booths and tables. All in all we enjoyed our selves and the food. I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to friends !!

Fresh bread buns n whipped butter brought to table ....the butter fell waitress said be back with new one, she didn't ....then lifted one bun from the basket and a long black hair in between it all...so gross! My plate arrived and there was straw paper garbage next to my garlic mashed.....I won't be back.

Boyfriend and I love this place. I always get a strip steak and he always gets a ribeye. Our steaks are always thick and juicy, and cooked just as we ordered. I havent run into a flat or gristly one yet. They had some spotty service in the past, but the last couple of times we went, the servers were really attentive.

Passing through Bakersfield on a trip from southern to northern CA. Our server was good, food mediocre at best.. Ribs didn't have any sauce, asked for more and she brought out a very small amount (we had ordered a full slab). Meat fell off the bones... Salad was blah, iceberg is some onions and tomatoes, few stings of cheese.. Fries came out cold garlic mashed potatoes were good. The best part was the ice tea and our server made sure our glasses were filled.. Would not stop here again or recommend, there are several other restaurants in the area to choose from .

Giving this place 5 stars based on how friendly and professional they were after 8 of us showed up around closing time. Our waiter was quick to take our drink orders. We ordered our food and it was brought out at reasonable time. Food isn't 5 stars but was good, not great. Some of us liked the rolls others didn't because they tasted kind of sweet. I would come back here to try something else and because I was very impressed with the service. Good job

I haven't been here in a while and I am going to give them some leniency due to the March Meets stuff. To start off with we got in and ordered drinks. My father in law ordered 2 double patron shots and the waiter come back with on the rocks. He explains he thought it was a new trend?? While we never ordered double patrons on the rocks he took the liberty upon himself to give them to us as is. I approached the bar I hopes of getting real double patrons and the bar maid informed me that it was the waiters fault. Neither end resulting in our actual drink order. Other than poor bar service the kid did alright trying to keep up with the large party tables and the food was tasty.

There are a few times in my life when I have had a great meal and this is one. My waiter, Casey was unbelievably good. She was very nice and always brought us our food and drinks in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend coming because of the great hostility.

A large group from my job was in here for lunch a couple weeks ago. The service was OK, but I was not impressed by the tri tip sliders. There was some VERY sweet BBQ sauce on them, so sweet almost like syrup. I am sure it works for others, but not me. I have eaten there before, and it was OK, not great, not even really good. I will not be spending my money here. Oh and it is very loud for the middle of the day, I expect it to be loud in the evening with alcohol, not so much at lunch.

Great BBQ joint. The ribs are not bad. Their garlic mash potatoes and BBQ potato skins with bacon were awesome. Most impressive thing was the honey butter with the bread roles. I couldn't have enough. We also ordered Mac n cheese for our little one, which was pretty much Kraft Mac n cheese. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork. It was good, but not what I was expecting. It tasted a lot like the Jack Daniels pulled pork that comes packaged at the supermarkets, which are good, if you're looking for a quick eat. They had another pulled pork sandwich that came with coleslaw. I guess I should have ordered that. To drink I had their Hill Billy Punch. Great combination of liquors and sprite. It was awesome. Overall I recommend this place. The food is hit or miss...so be careful.

The food was ok. Tahoe Joes is way better. I ordered a filet mignon medium rare and got it medium well. So that really sucked. My margarita was ok. But what made my dining experience a one star was the fact that it was 90+ degrees inside and when I asked the management to please turn on the air because the whole table was sweating they said there was nothing they could do. At the end of my dining experience in the roadhouse sauna I used the restroom which was at least 20-30 degrees cooler. I would have rather have ate in the rest room than at my table. Needless to say we will never be dining here again. In a place as hot as bakersfield people want to eat at a restaurant where they can escape from the heat. My recommendation to management and the owner is if a customer is sweating in your restaurant move them to a cooler place in your restaurant or spend the money on better A/C. If you can charge almost $30 for a steak you should be able to afford to turn on the A/C.

So the day before my reservation I called roadhouse and told them I would be having 25 people instead of 30 and the girl on the phone(I think her name was Ashley) kept huffing her breath at me and sounded super rude. I made sure to let her know We were coming in at 6pm the next day. My mom got to the dinner first yesterday and they said my reservation was cancelled. apparently they "called to confirm" and they said it was the wrong number. (I never got a call). My mom told them to read it for her and they did and it was my number. And they got embarrassed (because they didn't call, I had no missed calls at all). And my whole party had to wait until like 6:20/6:30 to be seated. The waitress was so rude. She had red hair, heavy makeup and words tattooed across her chest. She was horrible, hated when anyone asked for anything (rolled her eyes at basically everything we would ask for, bread which is complimentary, a root beer, or ranch for dipping) and disappeared every five seconds to hide and not come back until everyone's glasses were empty and someone noticed we were looking around for her. We've had bad service here before, but this tops it off.

After being seated it took about 30 mins to get someone to take are drink order we ordered waters along with a drink from the bar we got the waters but the drinks from the bar never showed up about 15 mins latter we placed are food order and then had the same server come back 5 mins later asking if she had taken are order already we reminded her she already had taken it and didn't see her after that another lady brought out the food and we didn't see are server or anything server till they brought a check to are table witch they had charged us for the drinks we had still not received The servers weren't rude they just didn't have a clue what they were doing the food was pretty good but the overall was very horrible service we didn't get anything we asked for including the bread that is supposed to go to every table

My friend ordered the American Burger MEDIUM cook. The meat came out WELL DONE and typically my friend would not have complained about it. However, the white pointy plastic to indicate temperature/doneness of the meat was laid flat on the burger and we both did not see it. We were both not sure whether this was due to the onion rings placed on top of it, but the plastic was laid flat. My friend bit on the plastic and hurt his tooth as he was eating the burger. We brought it up to the server's attention and she called the manager. The manager's first response was "Didn't you see that pointing up when the meal was delivered?" First of all, this is not our first time eating at a burger place and we would have removed it if we saw it. His attitude was very rude and condescending as if we were trying to get a free meal. All we were doing was bringing it to his attention for safety issues and we stated it to him as well since this is a choking hazard. All we were looking for was "I am sorry about this and we will make sure it won't happen again" or "I am sorry about this and I will take this personally", however, the attitude given by the manager was very accusatory and rude. "Here, let me take it off the bill and here is a free appetizer" with no apology whatsoever. This is by far the worst experience so far by eating at this restaurant and now we are considering eating at this place anymore!!!

Our dinner experience at Road House Grill was simply amazing! Be careful to not load up on all of the complimentary peanuts, but they are very good. Our waitress, Amber, was very attentive and friendly. My husband and I both ordered the 6oz Sirloin steak with sides and salad. The steaks were grilled to perfection. I tried their signature Baked Sweet Potato. It tasted like dessert with butter, brown sugar, and a hint of cinnamon. My husband's garlic mashers were little red potatoes loaded with garlic and butter. Yum!! Oh, and we can't forget to mention the melt-in-your-mouth freshly bakes rolls with honey butter and the down-home, delicious Southern Sweet Tea! We'll have to come back for dessert another time. Too full tonight! They look too cute, served in little 4oz canning jars. Stop in for a great meal. You won't be disappointed! But come early or make reservations. This is a popular place!

This is a good food choice especially with kids. I mean, you get to shuck and throw peanut shells on the ground so what kid wouldn't like that young or old? We love the chilli burger and the soup/salad combo plus The the ribs are pretty good as well!

Went for the first time after living in Bakersfield for 14 years. I didn't expect much from this place but thought I would give it a shot. My friends ordered the steak and I ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi. I asked if their seafood was fresh or frozen and the waitress told me some are frozen but the Mahi Mahi was fresh. It was tasty but I question any of the seafood being fresh- including the Mahi Mahi. I tried my friends steak and it was tender and juicy. My fault for ordering seafood at a steak house. Stay away from the seafood and do the steak. That's a no brainer. I recommend this place but there are better steak places in town if that what you are in the mood for. Overall a good experience with average food.

Burnt grilled vegies. Small steak did not taste good. No wonder there is nobody on there. Rolls and butter and peanuts were good. Service was good.

This is one of our favorite restaurants we go to. I love the tri tip dinner, the sweet rolls they give you with honey butter are delicious. Tuesday nights kids eat free with an adult entree purchase, so we like to come with the kids. The servers and manager are all very nice. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food and service was great. Had the prime rib special. Texas egg rolls were perfect as always. Had to short a star because I was overcharged. I clearly left a nice tip to an even dollar amount and when it cleared the bank, an extra $.40 was taken. Not a huge deal, just frustrating.

Went here on a Sunday and the service was good. The food was good but not great I have definitely had better barbecue. My tri tip was overcooked but the server was willing to quickly replace it. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is nice and different. Peanut shells are all over the floor but that's what they are going for. Try the kool aid drink if you decide to give this place a try.

We've been here quite a bit and it's one of our favorites. The bread is yummy and the food quality is always consistent, the service is not. We've dined many times on the patio and each time service was awful. I had to go in and get silverware, refills and most everything. Inside service is usually pretty decent?

I love this restaurant. Loud, crazy, chaotic, peanut shells all over the place. Ribs and chicken/shrimp is my favorite dish here. The Hay Bale onion strings is the appetizer for me. Always seated within 10 minutes. The menu is just like every roadhouse but taste much better than many. Servers are always friendly and amazing.

The ribs were ok. Not the greatest in the world but far from the worst. Service really was lacking tonight.

Horrible! Food was gross! Service was horrible. Never go again. Can't believe how much this place has gone down hill! The one thing I hate the most salad delivered with dinner instead of before dinner.

For Bakersfield its not bad. It's the old peanut shells on the ground steakhouse trick. Food and prices are decent, service was ok. Looked a little shirt on help, but our waitress was making up for lousy scheduling. And after manager forgot to write our parties name down when it was very busy.

Service was slow. It took a half hour before we got our rolls and I was thinking all we were going to eat was peanuts. And it wasn't that busy. Food was decent although the ribs weren't as tender as I had hoped. Overall it was am okay experience but nothing to get excited about and I'm certainly in no hurry to go back.

The food was good but when we order a double shot of patron we got a glass of ice with a little of tequila . We ask bartender about it and she was real rude about it and started playing the blame game with the waiter. We never received a double and after the service we definitely could have used one.

Prime rib on the weekends is great. Don't be afraid to send it back because they can't figure out what "medium well" means.

Bad food. Bad service. Among the three meats (tri tip, ribs, chicken) none were better than mediocre. The chicken & tri tip were flavorless. If I were blindfolded & eating either one, I could not have said what type meat they were. The ribs had been boiled before cooking - gross. Putting sauce on something doesn't make it BBQ. I asked the waitress for some butter when she brought the food, and we never saw her again until she brought the check. She never asked if we needed anything else or how the food was. I would never eat here again and recommend you eat somewhere else as well.

If you're curious about this place, google Texas Roadhouse and it's pretty much the same restaurant/concept but, IMO this place is just a skosh better! I had their Tri Tip which was great, maybe needed a little steak sauce but, no biggie. The rest of their steaks, ribs, chicken and burgers looked good! They also served a Bison Rib Eye and a Bison Meatloaf. It looked pretty tempting but, my apprehensions got the best of me. As far as the sides, I got their baked sweet potato which was loaded with butter, cinnamon and sugar, which was super!! Overall, it was a great experience! I'm 99.9% sure I'll never be back in Bakersfield, unless I'm in route to Vegas but, if you're in the area, stop on by to ORG and get your meat on!

Would of given it higher rating but have had some off meals and service. Had chicken wings one time and were great, the next time they were dried out and way over cooked. There salads tri tip chicken etc are ok, they have gone to just iceberg lettuce iceberg come on for the price of the salad you can do better. The portion of the salad I would say is on the small size. They seem to be hit and miss on the cook of the steak usually overcooked I like my steak rare seems to come out medium rare most of the time. The service can sometimes be terrific and other time terrible it seems to depend on who you get. Sometime very attentive refilling drinks when need be checking on how you meal is other times nothing you get ignored. This points directly to poor management and training of the staff.

I went on a Tuesday night and the service was great, the food was very good, and the prices reasonable. I ordered the Bourbon tri-tip and baby back ribs combo, Texas egg rolls, chili, and baked sweet potato. The tri-tip was of very good quality and cooked to perfection w/ a good taste, the short ribs were tender and juicy, Texas egg rolls were very tasty, chili was savory, the huge baked potato was delicious and the sweet rolls were great. The only meh was the salad. Next time I'm ordering the 18 oz Jim Beam Ribeye, medium rare and some cheese cake. Yummy.

I have gone there several times as we go to the Drag Races at Famoso several times a year. The staff are great and the food is great also. My favorite is the Tri-Tip which they marinade and slow smoke can't beat it. We always make it a point of eating here at least once when we are in town.

We usally have a great time and a wonderful meal. Tonights waitress needs more training. The bar area is great and has high spirited people running it. I definitely recommend the Bourbon Tri-tip to any carnivore eating here.

I have loved the RoadHouse Grill for over 10 years! I was living in Bakersfield when RoadHouse Grill first opened. This Never Happens Anymore: Free peanuts! Free peanuts! Free peanuts! Crack em', eat the nut, and then throw the peanut casing at your friends, drop em' on the floor, but whatever you do don't thrown them in the trash! You allowed to drop the peanut shells under the table or just drop them on the floor. This is one reason why I like going here is because of how natural it feels to drop trash (peanut shells) on the floor. You know where they really belong but you get to be bad and just drop them by your feet. Oh what a great feeling! Customer Service: After many years their customer service has not changed since they first opened! The waiter was very attentive, and kept our drinks full, and brought the food out to us in a short amount of time. Sun was shining through some blinds into my Dad's eyes, and the waiter shut the blinds for us to be courteous. What the he** did I order besides peanuts!? :) I ordered a chicken sandwhich, and it was delicious. The chicken breast was huge, and the fact that it touched the edge of the bread where your fingers sit was simply incredible. The weight of that sandwhich made it feel like a real chicken sandwhich, and made me want to dig my teeth into it without praying first! Fries not too greasy: Look at this a section for fries. They must have been pretty damn good. They were delicious actually, and I put a heaping amount of catchup on them to add some color. These fries are really good if you mix catchup and tobasco sauce too. It adds the perfect amount of neutral fire so as to not burn your tongue too bad. The sugar in the catchup really helps out with that too. Overall Rating: 5 freaking stars what else would it be! Thanks, Robert Altmiller

My favorite steak in town. Might be better. Probably is. But, I like what they have. I like the atmosphere, the service (except this last time, it was mediocre). I like the peanuts, I like the steaks, I like the sides. Note to management: Whatever reason you took Newcastle off tap. Mistake.

Really like this one chain! Food has been consistent and tasty at each restaurant we have visited. Am hooked on the Texas Egg Rolls! Want to especially thank them for their support of Veterans and Servicemen!

When I went to Roadhouse Grill, I was actually pleasantly surprised. When we came in, there were peanuts all over the floor and I thought that was peculiar but I didn't object. Then when they brought us the sweet rolls, I fell in love and I don't think I will ever fall out of love again. I thoroughly enjoyed these rolls and would come back specifically to enjoy those rolls. But enough about that, now on to the main dish. I had a chicken sandwich which was pretty good, it was reasonable moist which is always good when dealing with chicken, and I enjoyed the servings. I didn't pay so I don't know how it compares to pricing but overall the service/food/atmosphere was really good and I believe they are doing a good job. I don't usually give five stars unless the service is exceptionally amazing, it was good though. Good job Original Roadhouse!

By far the worst service ever! When we got there we were told it was 25-30 min wait, ok we were fine with that but then people who got there after us were being seated before us. After waiting 30 mins or more i asked the host how much longer because i noticed people were being seated before us who had arrived after us, well he let me know i had only been waiting for 30 min like he had told me and he had such a horrible tone so i asked him why the attitude then he replied with more attitude so i walked away. Well right after that he made sure we were seated. The chair where i was going to sit on was visibly filthy. On our table we had an empty can of what was suppose to be peanuts and no silverware. Our waitress seemed to be lost. We were ready to order and she looked perplexed. It was weird, then as they bring out our drinks my daughters drink was placed on the edge of the table and of course it fell. So i see another waitress pass by so i called her because i didnt want someone to slip. Well she told me as she walked by us, give me a min ill be back. She never came. Now to the food... My steak was really good but my mashed potatoes were more potatoe skin then actual potatoe. I was very disappointed. I will not be returning ever again.

It was ok! I had chicken that was border line pink and covered in pepper! I didn't really taste anything but pepper! The bread was extra yummy though :)

Food is good, I'll agree it has it's messy factory but that's the theme. Their rolls are grub.

Good food, sometimes terrible service. I'm always impressed with the food here, but 2 or 3 of the worst service encounters I've had were here. The times we've alerted the manager, nothing has ever been done other than come up with excuses about why the service was poor this time. I really enjoy the burbon tri tip and their sweet potatoes topped with brown sugar are always a treat. The rolls here used to be out of this world, but they changed them a year or two ago and they're just okay now.

Went there tonight for a birthday party of 10 because the restaurant we wanted to go to had a 90 minute wait. We waited 20 minutes to be seated although the restaurant had PLENTY of available seating. Understaffed and disorganized, we patiently waited for our drinks, our salads, and our entrees. No check backs, no concern, and we had to flag our waitress down for refills. When we finally got our food it was cold, tough, and disgusting (probably would have eaten, been home, and digested had we gone to our first choice). Basically we threw away $250 during the holidays for a horrible birthday experience. I was embarrassed to have suggested this place to my family. The waitress never even came by to collect the payment as it laid along the table with the hardly touched plates & empty drink glasses. So we sadly walked out of the restaurant without a "thank you" or "good night" or even a "kiss my ass". Well I will tell you Original Roadhouse you CAN kiss my ass goodbye because I will never cone back and I will definitely spread the word faster than we got served.
