Great food, good smoothies. I recommend the cinnamon roll. They'll even warm it up for you if you ask. Pretty good variety on their menu. Watch out for the hours, especially on weekends. I saw some complaints about customer service, but I didn't have any. Then again, I'm usually here for lunch when it's not very busy.

It is rare to find a place that makes delicious homemade bagels as well as bagel sandwiches. The service is always great and I know that this is a reliable place to get breakfast after going to the gym. Favorites: Peanut Butter Bagel - toasted/not toasted either way is delicious Rosemary Heaven Canadian Bacon Breakfast Bagel *if you eat there they give you a side of fruit, but if you take it to go you just get the sandwich. Strawberry Sunrise - orange, strawberry, & banana The update to the building was much needed and makes the place look cleaner. There is ample amount of outdoor seating so you can bring your dog with you. I'll continue coming here.

Love this place. For me it is super convenient and open early in the morning. When I have time, I will go in and get a breakfast burrito. It is great tasting and cheap. It is $4.28 after taxes. In the morning, (6am-ish) there is a large group of regulars in this place, drinking coffee and sharing stories I'm sure. The menu is large and varied. You can get breakfast sandwiches, salads, lunch platters, donuts, yogurt parfaits, juice smoothies, bread, coffee, and of course a bagel. My favorite bagel is the peanut butter and a close second is Cinnamon glaze. I believe there are like 15 different bagels and then you got like 6 or so different flavors cream cheeses.

I came on a Sat after the rush and was greeted by the guy mopping the floor and the cashier as well. Good customer service. There were still several choices of Bagel flavors to choose from and went for a half dozen. (I wish there were more whole wheat options) $6.75 I think it was. A dozen is $10.50 but that is just too much for a small family even though I freeze them all as soon as I get home. The bagels are well made, smaller, dense and quite tasty. My husband had come here one time before I had and when we got home he asked where the cream cheese was. He had received some before with his bulk order and said it was complimentary with bagel purchase. I have no idea, I never thought to ask. Still, a good experience and really other than a grocery store, the only bagel place option in Bakersfield? (I refuse to buy Starbucks bagels as they get trucked in from elsewhere and I never know how old they really are) This shop closes early on weekends so get here before 3pm Sat and 2pm on Sun.

My favorite breakfast spot! Love the cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese and a blended mocha...delicious! The staff is generally friendly...they are extremely busy!

They never disappoint! My husband and I have come here several times for breakfast. Great bagels and breakfast platters. The cookies always look delicious and are decorated with great creativity. They have indoor seating and outdoor. Always crowded. That means they're good! We'll be back soon!

Talk about poor customer service. We waited at the cash register for 5 minutes before anyone came to us. Then they only came up when they saw someone with a phone order come in. They pulled that customer from the back of the line to the front of the line and did a whole transaction which included taking the donut my fiancé wanted (it was the last one of its kind). We brought it to his attention about how rude it was, but all he did was try to justify it. Then they messed up my order. Two stars because they redid it correctly & quickly without complaint.

If you're going to eat breakfast here, you're better off grabbibg a smoothie and a bagel or sweets. Well, maybe their sandwiches are better? None of us got one so I can't say. I had their chorizo and it was disappointing. Their smoothies and sweet treats are delicious though. The banana blitz is my favorite out of the ones we had and one of the cookies, a powdered shortbread with a brown filing was really yummy, despite me not remembering the name. Otherwise, the place is cute and the staff was very nice!

I've been here a few times for breakfast and the food is always pretty good. After all, it's pretty hard to mess up a bagel. My main complaint about Bagels and Blenders is the customer service and the atmosphere of the place. First off, not a single employee smiling. I think a little positive energy in the place would go a long way. And the cleanliness of the place is terrible. Every open table was dirty, and there are forks and napkins on the floor and the trash cans are full. I ended up cleaning the table myself just to eat.

The food is always good but the peanut butter bagels are amazing! Whenever my grown kids visit, these bagels are a Bako icon & must have! My only complaint are the styrofoam cups! They ALWAYS break & leak! PLEASE upgrade to a sturdier material! Overall, love this place!!

Fresh home made bagels. I stop here every time I come through from Vegas. They have a wide variety of bagels and freshly made cream cheese spreads. They have a breakfast menu and smoothies as well. They have a good selection of breakfast bread & pastries.

Goldie Lox Bagel Sandwich was great. The Lox was fresh and piled high. I appreciated that it was not overly salty tasting, and I love that they used the right amount of cream cheese spread, not too heavy-yet not too thin on the bagel. The bagel that I selected for this sandwich was an Everything Bagel, it was ok, maybe a little too much on the flour-starchy side. I like my bagels to be chewy and moist on the inside with a shiny smooth crust on the outside. Not going to find that here. We also tried the Lemon Bagel, Peanut Butter Bagel, and the Garlic-Parmesan Bagel, good in flavor, but they taste more like heavy doughy french style artisan breads then gourmet bagels. Prices for bagels range from .95 cents for the Classic varieties up to $1.05 for the Signature Bagels. This place is more than just a bagel shop, they offer good smoothies, donuts, coffee, delisicous sugar cookies, and a huge variety of breakfast (including omelets) and lunch sandwhiches (hot & cold).

This place is great for breakfast. They recently redesigned their store and it looks awesome. If I'm really hungry, I love getting their bacon bagel breakfast sandwiches with a coffee. They recently started serving Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf coffee, which is way better than what they used to have. I usually like to let my kids split a bagel with cream cheese and a plate of scrambled eggs, which works well since they're young. They told me once that the cream cheeses were all low fat, but I'm not sure if that's true, because it's so good. It's a favorite of mine, but try to get there early, as it gets pretty packed after 9AM.

I have been here multiple times and it's not a bad place to grab a decent, healthy thing to eat. Depending on what you decide to order of course. The wife and I have ordered various items and we consider it a just above average joint. It is located in a good location, the prices are good, food is prepared fast and staff are always friendly.

My iced coffee and bagel were delicious and my fiance loved his blue bayou smoothie. My big complaint is that I paid for honey almond cream cheese for my peanut butter bagel and I was given jalepeno! Huge difference!! Boy was I surprised...thank god I had the iced coffee to put out the flames.

    (3)
  • Amy L.

I love their bagels! My favorite is the toasted peanut butter bagel with honey almond cream cheese, or any bagel with this cream cheese is bagelious! I Still need to try their breakfast bagels, sandwiches and smoothies. Will update my review when I try their other items!

I really can't figure out how so many folks think this place is 4 or 5 stars. This review is based on no fewer than 40 visits. Why would you go to a bagel joint 40 times if you rated them 2 stars? Great question. Simple, they are the only bagel store in town, and it's 2 miles from my house. The Bagels: are more like baked bread rather than the tender chewy bagels you've had elsewhere. They don't really have a hole in the center, instead it looks like a mini loaf of bread. They are fresh, no doubt. Breakfast Burritos: are definitely their best dish. I order my BB's with no cheese and no butter/grease. It seems like they get the no cheese no butter thing right about half the time. This takes away 1 star. Cleanliness / Service : this is where I deduct a full 2 stars. Today, and many times in the past, the person that took my order was wearing latex gloves. He took my money with the gloves and offered change with the gloves. THEN, he prepared my food with the same gloves. Thanks for exposing me to germs all the while protecting your hands from them! This reflects poor management. If you really look around you will find that NOTHING is clean, plus the store is very cluttered. If you are taller than 5'6" you will see thick dust on top of everything.

Before my husband and I went hiking this past weekend, we stopped by Bagels & Blenderz to pick up some morning breakfast. This was our 2nd time here and again, there was a line. Good thing we arrived a bit early, since by the time I was leaving with my food -- the line was already almost out the front door. Sheesh! They need to have more bagel stores in this town! :) (1) Tropical Breeze smoothie, strawberry coconut, melon - refreshing! i liked all the fruits in this drink so it was tasty :) 4 stars; these smoothies are actually more reasonably priced than that of jamba juice. Although jamba juice offers coupons that this place doesn't. (2) Morning Special breakfast bagel - asiago cheese, sausage, spinach - my husband had this bagel and thought it was OK. at first it seemed like he enjoyed it but after he finished, he said it was "eh". Maybe he got spoiled by the breakfast bagel he had in Williamsburg, NY. 3.5 stars (3) Breakfast burrito with turkey (eggs&cheese) - had WAY too much cheese in there; NOT enough turkey (couldn't even see or taste the deli turkey meat); a bit disappointed. 2 stars. (4) New breakfast burrito with spinach, asiago cheese, sausage - i ordered this breakfast burrito and it was pretty good. Not as good as the one I had in Malibu, CA but it was decent. Wish they stuffed it with more sausage chunks; there were only 6-7 pieces in the entire burrito! :( 3.5 stars (5) Tomato & basil bagel - i wanted to get this bagel because it reminds me of a pizza, but it didn't turn out that way this time. the bagel was basically tomato-flavored (where was the basil?) with a couple of pieces of roasted tomato in there, chewy and fluffy. 3.5 stars Also, it must be Girl Scout cookies season because they were selling cookies outside of the restaurant. Great location to conduct their selling because there were plenty of buyers! :)

Come here for homemade bagels, smoothies, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf coffee, and several different pastries. Every bagel I've tried is delicious here. My favorite is the everything bagel with jalapeno cream cheese! They also have sun dried tomato, chive, and strawberry cream cheese plus more. If you order a sandwich you can substitute any bagel for the bread. The breakfast burritos are tasty as well. Although, the hot link isn't very hot.

GET PAPER CUPS. For some reason they are still using styrofoam Great peanut butter bagels and smoothies. Been going here since it opened in the nineties...I still come here every time I'm in town. .

The food is delicious as well as the drinks. The reason I'm giving two stars is because they have the worst customer service. They're all over the place and so unorganized. I called an order in and they said it'll be ready in 15 minutes. (One sandwich)but it must of been busy plus I was around the corner. I dropped by Starbucks first got three drinks and went inside. It had been 20 minutes plenty of time. I ask if my order was ready. the cashier yells have you made the order yet to someone in the back.... They come running to the front, um what kind of bread did you want, we're all out of plain bagels. I ask why didn't you tell me that on the phone, they look at me speechless, I was ticked off but hungry and there food is delicious, I waited it took another15 minutes. why? No one had started making the food, all my drinks had melted from starbucks and I had to go get them remade. The only one that ever seems to be doing anything there is the older mexican man, and he has great customer service. He wasn't there that day but I wish he was I would of been in and out

The Banana Nut bagel was so delicious! I'll definitely have to have my friend pick some up for me if she ever comes into town from Bakersfield. They were on point!

Considering this place is right across the street from me, it makes for a nice walk to get some breakfast or lunch. If I'm getting breakfast I highly recommend the bagel Benedict on a jalapeño bagel for some spice! Recently they remodeled and the place looks like brand new and have a few additions to the menu, such as the boss's lunch. This sandwich is no joke, you have to try it to understand! Also don't forget to get a smoothie or two.

Taste, who cares.. It's a bagel for gods sakes... What you should know is that, the chef / cook did a Spanish serenade.. Wish yelp had a voice record button... He had THE voice... Who am I kidding... I should say, his spirit made up for the totally uneventful day I was having... Tough luck you guys weren't there to enjoy the off-beat symphony.... Thumbs up man...

  • Nina R.

Meh. This place is always packed and therefor always cluttered and often sold out of the breakfast food I want. The employees are so inundated with customers that you feel rushed to order. Whenever I try asking questions about their smoothies or food, I get a really quick and totally inaudible response. The food isn't great, the smoothies are pretty good but it always feels like such a mess in there.

  • Angela A.

This place is a generic bagel shop. Nothing that stood out to me. They do not put the cream cheese on for you, but give it to you in a small plastic cup with lid. The Chai latte was good! Enjoyed that. Service was fair.

I will always be a staunch supporter of awesome local businesses. In a town where greasy diners, Mexican food, and chain restaurants rule, Bagels & Blenders proves to be a strong contender. From what I understand, this little bagel shop has been around for a long time, churning out delicious bagels and pastries. I hope it stays that way. My favorite is the "Goldie Lox" on a garlic bagel...yummmmm... They have outdoor seating so it's the perfect place to grab a leisurely breakfast on a sunny Saturday morning. Bringing a book to read is optional. A note: Switch to eco-friendly, recyclable cups, plates, and silverware. It's the 21st century, no one should be using styrofoam cups anymore.

It's a shame that the poor customer service has to take away from the high quality food. I have been to this location twice, both on a Saturday and Sunday morning. On Saturday the wait time was fine but the young lady assisting me was not friendly and made no effort to greet me in a positive manner. The garlic and parmesan bagel I had was excellent, along with the garden veggie cream cheese. The yogurt parfait I had was satisfactory, the granola was mushy, I would ha e preferred to add it separately though. Because of the high quality food and the tempting menu I saw, I decided to return on Sunday. This time there was a lengthy wait time, not because of a line but because the only person at the register was on the phone taking a rather lengthy order. Everyone else was walking around and not recognizing that a line was growing of impatient patrons. Once it was finally my turn to order, the young man never looked up at me or greeted, I made my order and he never once said any type of pleasantries. As a former retail worker, I value great products but even more so great customer service. I give the food 5 stars but the customer service is a fail.

We wanted a breakfast place around our hotel so we were lucky enough to find this place. Coming at 10 o clock on a Sunday, it was pretty busy! This is always a good sign. Bagel Benedict: Bagel with Canadian bacon, 2 eggs, topped with Hollandaise sauce None of us have ever had benedict, and we all agreed it was pretty good. But hollandaise sauce gets too rich if you eat too much. Breakfast Bagel: Egg topped with cheddar or egg topped with Canadian bacon I didn't try this one, but my friend said it was good. Looked like a McD sandwich to me. Avocado Chipotle Chicken: Grilled chicken, onion, avocado, spring mix,Pepper Jack cheese, & chipotle mayo My friend and I split this one. I wouldn't say it's the best sandwich ever, but it was good enough for me. The chipotle mayo was delicious and who doesn't love avocado? Blue Bayou: Boysenberry, blueberry, & strawberry This was probably my favorite. The berries all tasted so fresh. Would I come back for breakfast? Yeah, why not? Too bad I don't live anywhere near here.

since I have written about the rude staff, it seems like they finally got their stuff together! The past three times I have been in there all of the staff have been extremely kind and helpful! Thank you Bagelz for getting your business together!!! :)

I like this place but wow! Today was bad....they had 4 unorganized employee's. Two guys that are very sluggish and slow. All four employees would take an order and go fill it leaving customers standing and waiting not being acknowledged. I would think it would be best if they had one or two employees taking orders and the other employees fix them.

Well it's been about 1 month since my last visit. Things looked better and they are remodeling w/ a new floor and I believe a new cabinet for the coffees. The cabinet(s) are not installed as of this post. Now that they are improving the inside, let's see if we can improve the outside by looking @ the trash cans. The one "ALWAYS" neglected is the west trash can outside. The employees seem much more friendly. But after all previous problems, I still have my reservations. Especially since it was a weekday and they were not busy. I give 1 more star than last time only because of the remodel and it was clean. Including the tables. Lastly, I will say, as always, the food, the bagels and smoothies were "VERY" good. I just could be the "next" Pete Tittle" for the Crapafornian. LOL Well here we go again. Today is Oct. 25th and we STILL have lipstick on a pig. The floors are dirty and several of the tables STILL have not been cleaned. I guess the owner(s) do not read these posts because it's still a pig sty in here. CLEAN THE FLOORS & TABLES. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!! Oh yes we must not forget that they (Bagels & Blenderz) STILL can't seem to empty the OVERFLOWING trash cans as well. One employee saw how full the inside was, threw some trash away, and NEVER came or looked back to empty it. As we walked outside, the West trash can was overflowing as well. I know this place is VERY busy on weekends, but hire more help since you (the owner) can't keep the place CLEAN with the amount of help you have now. You can put lipstick on a Pig (referring to the remodel) but it is still a Pig no matter how much you try to cover it up. This is why I have lowered their score to 1 star. You are so so close to losing my business.

Terrible customer service! When I came, there was one family eating lunch but no one was waiting in line. As I walked to the counter, the guy who was working there turned around and walked away. There were 2 other employees, one of whom was toasting something and the other was just kind of wandering around. No one said hello or "I'll be with you in a minute." After 5 minutes I turned and started walking out when one of the employees said "Do you need something?" Since the sign on the door said they were closing in 20 minutes, I assumed they didn't want any more customers. I said to the employee, "Are you still open?" And she responded "yeah" in a "how-dumb-are-you" voice. I should have mentioned their rude service and walked out, but I placed my order. Two other groups came after I ordered, and they were helped right away. I don't know why those 3 employees thought I wasn't worth serving, but they certainly won't mind taking their share of my money. The food was good, but Bagels & Blenderz has lost me as a customer due to their rude employees!!!!

The bagels are always fresh and I like the variety. My favorite is the peanut butter ones but egg toasted and buttered is my go to. Bagels is 5 miles from my house so it is a good ten miler for me. #bakersfielddistanceproject

  • Sheryce S.

My go-to bagel spot. Favorite bagel= garlic parmesean, mmmmm! If I get tired of that one I'll get the everything bagel. I get my bagels toasted with a little bit of butter (go on and try it before you judge!) or made into a breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheese, and ham. I'm not big on cream cheese. They also have fantastic smoothies and a to-die-for vanilla chai latte, either hot or blended. I am warning you though, if you order it hot your tongue will get burned. Wait quite a while before sippage. Complaints: why the heck do they sell cookies and donuts? Afterall the name is "bagels and blenders!" Seriously, there may be more of these than bagels. They are all stacked up on baking racks right behind the register making the place look crammed and cheap. All that stuff didn't use to be there. Maybe it's more for the kiddos. Or maybe they are selling well and they needed to boost their overall sales. Who knows? I just know that I don't appreciate it. I have been meaning to try their sandwiches for lunch; I've heard good things.

Bad experience. Very unprofessional staff. Poor customer service. Ordered a breakfast bagel added avocado. Ate two bites and thought where's the avocado, that I paid 1.00 extra for? Opened up the sandwich and there was a few paper thin slices. Thought oh ill just ask for some more real quick considering that my sandwich with avocado looked nothing like their picture of a sandwich with avocado on it that had four hearty slices. The cashier was going to get some then talked with the manager came back and said, " we put four slices, if you want more you have to pay another dollar." This conversation went on a few times. Cashier said," that's what my manager said, so..." I said,"ok, let me talk to the manger then." Cashier," she's right here." She's was standing right there the whole time! I tell the manger the same thing just want more avocado hardly got any, she tells me to bring my sandwhich up there. Ok...I bring it up there open face. They both look at it, then proceed to argue with me! And essentially call me liar, and say,"if you want more pay more!" If you want to eat here my suggestion is: don't complain or ask for anything more than what they put on your plate As for me I will never be going back!

I went to this place a few days ago. I ordered 2 sandwiches and it took them almost 30 minutes to give me my order. I asked 3 times how long until my order was ready and each time staff was rude and made me feel like I had no right to ask. When they finally handed me my sandwiches they were not the ones I ordered. I don't know what all the good reviews are about. The food sucked and I can make better ones at my house. There were 4 other people asking where their order was and staff was rude to them as well. Just go somewhere else!

Ok, this was my second time at B n Bz. So, I met a friend here for a late breakfast at 11:30, and they were completely out of bagels. Sadface. So, I ordered a white mocha and a breakfast sandwich. I get my breakfast sandwich and no coffee. When I head back inside to check on it, the person who took my order asked if I wanted it hot or cold. I stated my preference and went back outside. Got my coffee a few minutes later. I sipped on it a bit, but it did not taste like a white mocha. Opened the lid, looks like it was just steamed milk and flavoring. I took it back in, the staff looked at it, said they'd fix it. They brought my new coffee out, and I left for work. When I got to work my coffee was very cold and I'm pretty sure they just handed the same cup back to me with a new lid. At least the sandwich was good. Thanks for the no- caffeine. :(

I hadn't been in this place for years. To be honest, I didn't realize it was even still there. It's tucked away in one of the quieter corners of the Albertsons/Trader Joes center on the Northwest Corner of Coffee and Stockdale Hwy near the El Pollo Loco and Miyoshi. I had been going here for years and years and I'm not really sure how I got out of the habit, other than it's nowhere near where I live. The important thing is that I have rediscovered this little Bakersfield treasure and I won't be forgetting about it again. I knew they sold bagels and smoothies (that much is obvious since they are both in the name of the place - give me some credit) but I did not realize that they also carry a variety of cold and hot sandwiches, salads, full breakfasts, muffins, and cookies, too. The cookies look a lot like Mrs. Smith's cookies but they are bigger. On the day of my visit they were in the shapes of Spiderman, Hello Kitty, and smiling stars that reminded me of the Carl's Jr. Logo. I did not taste them, so I can't comment of the flavor. I perused the list of smoothies (I'm not a huge fan of banana so that tends to limit me) and decided to try the Hawaiian Holiday which features mango, peach, pineapple and orange. Their smoothies seem to all come in a single size, which turned out to be exactly the one I would have chosen anyway so no problem there. While I waited, I noticed the display cast full of muffins and asked one of the servers if they made them fresh on the premises. She said yes and suddenly I had to have one. They had blueberry, cream, blueberry cream, raspberry cream, and banana nut for sure - not sure if there were others. I settled on the raspberry cream and had no regrets. It was moist and flavorful with some kind of cream swirled through it and a crumble topping. It paired well with my smoothie. Regarding the smoothie, it arrived in a tall cup with a lid similar to one that you might get at Starbucks with a little opening in it to sip your beverage through and a paper wrapped straw lying across the top. Just for the record, the smoothies are so thick that there is no way you're going to be sipping it through that hole, no matter how long and skinny your tongue is. Luckily, the hole was the perfect size to put the straw into. It's too far to drive on a weekday morning, but this could make a fun weekend breakfast place, and I do have a lot of new things to try here.

  • Hello K.

My husband and I were traveling through town and searched Yelp for a good Bagel shop. Service was friendly, fast, and efficient our bagels came out promptly. However my onion bagel tasted similarly to my husbands rosemary asiago bagel which were both bland. The bagels are soft and fresh. The high light is there delectable cream cheese. My husband LOVED the peanut butter bagel toasted with the almond honey cream cheese. He gives that combo 5 stars.

Food here is pretty good but they NEVER seem to ever get my order correct (this is definitely a continuous problem) this place has the WORSE organization. Be prepared to wait forever for your order.

Quick breakfast joint, with good, quality food. My favorite to get...turkey and egg white breakfast burrito. Perfect size for a good, filling, healthy breakfast (if I just ran a 10+ miler, I might do two of them). When I want a treat, I'll get the ham and cheese croissant...they know how to do croissants here (regular ones too). I also love their egg white and veggie omlette too. Tip for the Owner - while I appreciate the phone-in service, 8 out of 10 times, I'm kept on hold on the phone for 2-5 minutes, then when I get there, I have to wait another 2-5 minutes for someone to help me at the "pick up" counter. It's probably about the same as if I just came in and stood in line. Not sure if that's what you were after...

Did this place get new ownership? My Avocado was forgotten on my order. While waiting my girlfriend walks in and says she got the wrong order entirely. The clerk asks the helper in back who lies and says that the lunch meat on the sandwich is in fact grilled chicken. Terrible customer service, bickering and complete lack of leadership. Thanks for ruining my morning.

Service is a little push, as in I am reading the menu, because it was my first time there, and the counter person says how can I help you, I said I need a minute to look at the menu, a couple of seconds later the next counter person says how can I help you, I said I need just a minute to look at the menu, and again the third counter person, same thing, so if your in a hurry, the counter people will take care of you. So after looking at the menu for a minute I finally ordered a cinnamon bagel with cream cheese, lightly toasted and an orange juice and my husband ordered a breakfast omelet. Both were pretty good and were reasonably priced. Tables had not been cleaned in a while and I haven't been to a place in a long time that serves on styrofoam plates, maybe this area hasn't gone GREEN yet?

Why 3 stars? I want Gluten Free bagels! Hahahaha This place is great and they have amazing stuff...The smoothies are killer! But as someone who has a gluten allergy it would be great to be able to come here and get a sandwich or bagel that is GF. But in reality this place is great!

I have to say I love a good sesame bagel, and Bagels and Blenders has got it! When I worked a mile or so away this was my go to place for the morning bagel and smoothie. It still has it for me in the morning. Simple and to the point - Good bagels and smoothies! Drop on in!

Well the bagels here are pretty good. In fact most things on the menu here are on the up and up. The place is clean and presentable. One thing I think the could work on is the service side. They do get super busy but the service when you get busy should not be sacrificed . They do make some excellent bagel sandwiches thought!

Good find. I ordered here not expecting much, but just wanting to see what all the fuss was about. We left with a positive experience and will definitely return. My wife wasn't feeling well so we phoned in our order after seeing what we wanted on their website (side note: please put prices on your website so I don't bother the poor employees to give me a total before picking up my order). Here's what we ordered: 1) "Sunny Breakfast" (scrambled eggs, cherry tomato, sausage, spinach, & cheddar cheese) - Pretty good. The sausage was the same sausage used as a pizza topping, which was a little overwhelming, so I'll be asking to hold the sausage next time (TWSS!!). 2) Toasted Pumpkin Bagel & Plain Bagel - A little smaller than what is found in NYC, but not bad. Just make sure you order cream cheese on the side. When I went to pick up my order, I saw them putting cream cheese on the bagels; they weren't very generous. If they tried pulling that off in NYC, they'd be chewed out. Seriously. Here is a pic of a NYC Bagel... that is what I'm used to seeing when I order for a bagel. Again... order the cream cheese on the side. ( flickr.com/photos/uglyag… ) 3) Papaya Passion & Strawberry Sunrise smoothies - Delicious. Period. So I go to pick up my order and it is super crowded (a good thing). I ended up waiting a little bit, and the owner (i think it was the owner) kept apologizing. I told her, "Don't apologize. Busy means it's good. Right?" She laughed, told me how it was good, and I then gave me my food. So to conclude, my wife and I enjoyed it; I think it's one of the better breakfast places in Bakersfield. My true rating would be a 3.5, but I liked the owner so much, I'll give the extra .5 stars.

If you never had bagels then you would think this place is great and maybe for Bakersfield that's the case because I haven't checked out all the bagel places but as bagels go in general this place is okay but certainly not the best bagels by far. They ran out of popular bagels such as an everything bagel and it's only noon. Not an acceptable standard in quality bagel shops.

This place is so incredible. They have the best chicken quesadillas hands down. The breakfast bagels are amazing as well, especially the bacon and egg. The smoothies are also awesome. The have fresh baked goods as well. I am hungry thinking about this place. See you soon B & B. :D

Went in on a Sunday before farmers market. Grabbed a salt and jalapeño bagel. Had been craving lox so gave it a try. All of it was fresh and the young wait staff are very nice. Also got a coffee because I noticed they had fresh non dairy creamer. Several blends to choose from. Was very busy but speedy.

I love this place so much when I am craving a bagelwich. The various bagels they make on a daily basis are great and a yummy place when you want a quick and hearty breakfast. They have a variety of bagels on site with many choices of smears to place on top. I've come here a few times with friends and have had a good experience each time. The staff is friendly and the prices are decent.

Great little place. It's clean, the food is delicious, and they have a large variety. Although we didn't partake, the cookies, breads (particularly the red velvet bread!), and the scones all looked amazing. It's obvious everything is freshly prepared on-site. The bagels were the freshest, best tasting, and best consistency I've had. The blueberry bagel was off-the-charts! As a vegan, I was disappointed that there weren't a lot of vegan options. I would have loved to have seen hummus as an option for bagel toppings - though I don't know if Bakersfield has a thriving vegan community. Maybe those of us just passing through don't comprise enough business yet to warrant vegan options. And if that's the case, it definitely makes sense not to carry something that will not be ordered frequently enough to justify the expense. That said, my husband raved and raved over the "very berry" cream cheese on his bagel. He believed it to be home-made as well, and said that the texture was creamy and hearty, and that the flavor was perfection. At the risk of seeming pretentious, I was peeved by several typos/mispellings in the take-away menu ("Make fresh daily" at the top of the brochure in lieu of "Made" fresh; a panini listed an ingredient as "prepper", etc.), as well as a description of their smoothies followed by, "Anyway, they are simply delicious". Menu peeves aside, this place is delicious and the service was fantastic. If we're ever passing through again, we'll definitely stop here.

I got a Hawaii vacation or Hawaii holiday not sure exactly what it was called. I had been craving mango and this smoothie delivered. It was not too thick or overly sweet, it was just right. I also ordered the Tuscan chicken panini which was pretty tasty. The bread was warm and toasted, but not to the point where it hurts your gums. I love crunchy sandwiches. The panini also came with some sides which included a pickle slice, carrot slice, cucumber slice, and bell pepper slice. I really enjoyed the food, but would have to say the food is a little pricey. Oh, and I also got a blue berry bagel and it wasn't all the great. So smoothies and sandwiches are good here, but wouldn't go here just to get a bagel Panera has better ones.

Stopped here while passing through on a road trip. The place seemed really popular, with a long line, but service was quick and friendly. They have so many options to choose from, but we opted for the breakfast special (bagel with egg and ham and a coffee) and the ham and cheese croissant and were both really pleased! There wasn't any seating available in the store because it was crowded, but I'm sure that would have changed within a few minutes, or if we asked someone if they would separate a double table they weren't using. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick and yummy breakfast on the road.

These are barely bagels and more like round Wonder Bread. We called in our order for 2 dozen and they were ready to go as promised so I have no complaints about the service. As far as bagel quality goes, very weak. These bagels are slightly better than a grocery store bagel and not anywhere close to a "good" bagel. If you're used to eating good bagels, don't bother with this place....you will only be disappointed. I would think the local demographics could support an Einstein or Brugger's and in the absence of any decent chain or mom-n-pop bagel shops, you get a Bagels & Blenders looking like a rockstar.

I can't count the number of times my girlfriends and I met here for breakfast before an all-day dance rehearsal, or a dear high school friend and I stopped by for a casual brunch reunion. I have fond memories of Bagels & Blenders (and I can't honestly say that of too many Bakersfield institutions). The food is good, but it's also the comfort factor and convenient prices that ups this place from a 3-star rating to 4. I nearly ALWAYS ordered the "California Cruisin" smoothie with a toasted blueberry bagel (butter only)... and I'm happy to report that I left completely content every time. The bagels are good - different - and the service is fair. There's a pretty great variety of options, and I have it on good authority that the sandwiches are nothing to sneeze at either. As with most of my other favorite stops in Bako, Bagels & Blenders is locally owned and dearly beloved.

Best bagels ever? Not quite. But they are enjoyable. I split with the gf: - the cranberry orange bagel with mixed berry cream cheese spread (just okay, don't know if the recommended cream cheese really worked with the bagel). - the cinnamon raisin bagel with cinnamon raisin spread was quite good - a simple glazed donut (good) I also had a Hawaiian smoothie which was quite tasty. I like the variety and selection here and it's not a bad place to grab some grub. The thing that took some wind out of my exuberance was the flies in the shop and among the bagels. Let me tell you, that doesn't open the appetite at all!

Bagels Benedict is crazy good. Sadly, I only discovered it's loveliness mere weeks before moving to Oklahoma. Sad... Miss you B&B!!!

If you're looking for tasty as well as fast breakfast, bagels and blenders is definitely the place to go. Weekend mornings usually packed, but the line goes by fast. bagels are good, the smoothies are very tasty, and the breakfast burritos are awesome for how fast they make it for you.

Super solid 4 star bagel shop. The peanut butter bagels are delicious beyond belief, and I also highly recommend a plain bagel with the honey almond cream cheese. Jalapeno bagels are good... hell, they are all good. I'm not big on strawberries in smoothies so I always order the Hawaiian one. No little red seed monsters in there, thank goodness. It's sweet and fruity and totally orange. When I call an order over the phone I notice that the keep my smoothie in a little freezer until I get there. Nice touch. The prices are reasonable and makes it worth the drive. Cant wait until it warms up a bit and people can start taking advantage of the outdoor seating. With the cold weather the indoor seating has been so packed.

By FAR my favorite breakfast place in the Bfield. I like this place much more than other big retail chain bagel shops, because like a lot of things in Bfield it's family owned and run by locals. They have an awesome selection of bagels and the spread selection has just as much variety. I love the vegetable and honey almond spreads! The local office that I visit for business swears by the peanut butter bagels! If you are in Bfield or even driving by and need a quick breakfast, trust me avoid the fast food places with greasy burgers and breakfast sandwiches and stop here for a bagel, bialy, or some fresh breakfast coffee or juice. You'll know why these small establishments top my charts.

I just moved up to Bakersfield recently, and this is one of my favorite places...but since smoothies and bagels are pretty much my two favorite things, I may be a little bit biased. Like others have said, weekends can be crowded, but it is worth it because they are good at getting the orders out fast. Their bagels and smoothies are both delicious. Their baked goods look amazing also, but I haven't tried any yet.

Who knew? Awesome bagels in the middle of Kern County and Central-ish California! My absolute favorite is the peanut butter bagel...lightly toasted either just buttered or with plain cream cheese. YUM-O (to quote Rachel Ray)!!! Hint: if you want to order more than one peanut butter bagel to take home, call it in because sometimes they run out!

Mmmmm, I love this place. Bagels and Blenders was a high school staple for me, I used to always go with my girlfriends on Saturday and Sunday mornings and get our carb fix and a blended mocha. I really miss a lot of the food joints in Bakersfield.. Bagels and Blenders being one of them. They have just about every bagel you can imagine! And great smoothies and coffee for a reasonable price. Can't go wrong there.

This is the ultimate Sunday breakfast / lunch destination! For those days you don't get going until 11am and half of your family wants lunch while the other half wants breakfast, this is the place for you. They have the best sandwiches I have ever had! The chicken chipotle was very good! We also got Ricks breakfast, which was a healthy alternative to your normal breakfast out.

Classic bagel shop sandwiches, salads, and breakfast items! The smoothies are not the freshest or the best, but do the job well enough. The bagels and cream cheese selections are unique and fresh. The fresh fruit could be better. Has always been close to my office, and that's what keeps me going back. That, and the fact that it's all low-fat.

First time. Last time. You can taste the nasty bakersfield water in each bite. More like rolls then bagles. the only thing missing in the veggie cream cheese was the veggies. I asked for it double toasted and they couldn't even get that right. Not sure why people call this a classic bagle joint. Coffee was decent though.

I dont even LIKE bagels, and I love Bagels and Blenders. I usually get their cinnimon bagel with the cinnimon cream cheese on it. YUMMY! They have fun customer service, great cookies, and wonderful bagels for even people like ME. :)

Iv'e been to this place a few times. Each time the food is fresh and well prepared. I was recently told to try the peanut butter bagel. I never heard of such a flavor bagel. I hit up B & B this morning, got a peanut butter bagel w/ of course peanut butter cream cheese. Once again this place hit it out of the park. I recommend this place for a good breakfast sandwich or PB bagel anytime. They also have smoothies which I have yet to try.

I can't believe no one else has reviewed B&B yet! A Bakersfield institution. I remember when it opened back in high school (ouch, I feel old) - we used to ditch and go for a bagel run. They have fantastic bagels, lots of different spreads, bagel sandwiches, smoothies and coffee drinks. One of the first places I go when I am back in town. Perfect for a quick breakfast or snack.

Excellent bagel shop. I got a cinnamon raisin bagel with honey almond cream cheese and a large coffee.....such a delcious breakfast. Surprisingly really good coffee too. I like that their bagels weren't HUGE. Just the right size and toasted to perfection. I would definitely go back and if I lived in the area it would be tempting to not go once a week.
