My #1 place for ramen in life! I love this place so so so much! The soup broth is so pure and not too salty! Amazing place. Every time when my boyfriend and I crave for ramen This is the first place we think of. Delicious!

Service: Great! Really helpful, fun & friendly. Never had to flag them down or wait for someone. They seem to come at the right time & always fulfill my complicated orders. :P Food: Preeetty good. Can't really mess up ramen. But it's still not as bomb as Shin Sen Gumi. Environment: Cool interior, fairly clean. The bar area is just a little tiny.

Holy smokes, oily Batman! This is literally the reaction I got from an order of the Tan Tan Men dry. My order took longer for some unknown reason, my guess is that they have to boil the noodles and then let it cool and dry. Despite having dry noodles, the broth was very oily and salty. My guess they are using probably some kind of fat bone stock with something richer than vegetable oil. Presentation was good, price was bleh. My bill came out to about $25 before tip. Order two bowls of ramen and one app. - gyoza. Gyoza was a bit too crispy. Add the dipping sauce not flavorful - more salt! If you like salty ramen, fatty broth, no taste, and long lines, this is the place for you. Not as flavorful as Daikokuya. Its a good copy of the other popular Japanese ramen places minus the flavor. I guess its for locals who do not want to travel to Little Tokyo or elsewhere. I've been to Japan 3x, so I'm a bit harsh on my taste

The ramen is tasty enough. Ramen Yukinoya is a decent alternative if you don't feel like making the trek to Shin Sen Gumi. The miso and shoyu ramen are a solid 3/5. A little turned off by the B health grade rating though.

Every dish I've had here was top notch. The appetizers are also very tastey. Their service also errs on dependable, while not being overly pushy.

Tasty. I've been here a couple times and I have not been disappointed. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and Peter ordered the shio. We also ordered a side of california roll. I must admit that the cali roll was the best cali roll I think I've ever had. I added garlic to my ramen and it was an absolute delight! Place is small, so it's a little cramped. But the service is awesome. Did not have to ask for water refills. Nice guy always stayed on top of it!

Is it odd to order "dry noodles" at a place known for their ramen? errmm..nope. Not here. They excel at everything, dry noodles included. Not to say I haven't had my share of ramen noodle soup here which I have, so you really can't go wrong with any order! The dry dishes of choice for the evening included: 1. Yakisoba - oh dear lord this order was huge! It's a hot stir-fry with veggies, garlic, chicken (or pork), carrots, bean sprouts, mushrooms, and a half boiled egg on top. Would 100% get this again. It's packed full of flavors and there's even a garlic press if you need to add more. 2. Tan Tan Mein - these are dry COLD noodles drenched in amazing sauce, bean sprouts, meat, tomatoes, and an egg. This entree was intoxicating. I enjoyed every bite of it (or as much as I was allowed since it was not my order..heeh) Ambiance is super cute and the staff are extremely friendly, attentive, and quick. They're also located RIGHT next to half & half, so get your boba fix and head on over for some ramen or dry noodles or dumplings. They're all good!

Dinner on Sunday, 5/17/15 Pretty good ramen with marinated garlic to mince yourself. It gets really busy here so make sure you aren't starving when you arrive. They have a sign-in sheet on a clipboard located on the counter right when you walk in. Make sure your name is still on the sign-in sheet because they didn't call my party of 5 for the longest time and we realized it was one of the servers who tossed out the entire sheet so the new sheet didn't have our name at all. Aside from the wait, the servers are friendly and they come by often to make sure we have everything we need. Be sure to ask them for recommendations since some of the ramen bowls can be customized. I tried the tender pork feet. It was pretty tender but a bit too salty for me. I'd come back again for their tonkatsu ramen. It's pretty tasty. Next item to try is the Okinawa chashu or pork belly. It looks pretty good.

I definitely would not have found this place without yelp. I've driven around in this area so many times but have never been inside this plaza. This is a good find!! We came on a Friday night around 6:30-7, and didn't have to wait at all. The menu is simple but has all the usual ramen joint selection. I got a shio ramen and my husband got the tonkotsu ramen with fried rice combo. We enjoyed all of the items we tried and can't wait to go back to try more. The shio broth is flavorful and not as greasy as the one from santouka. The cha siu pieces were tender. The tonkotsu broth was obviously much more flavorful than shio and a little sweet. It came with more cha siu pieces and again cooked well. I particularly loved the egg that came with the ramen because it was cooked just right and with good flavor. The fried rice that came with the combo is quite large! We were so full after we ate everything. Good portion and good flavor. We are fans for sure. Ramen is such a subjective thing. My husband likes his noodles a little on the hard side and this place definitely fit the bill. I like my egg soft/medium boiled and this place got it right. So all and all we liked it and will go back. We'll have to try a few more items on the menu to see if this can be bumped to a 5 star review.

Took 10-15 minutes to get seated around 1PM on a Saturday. Didn't expect to get seated so quickly considering how small the place was. I don't know why people keep making ramen places that are so tiny. If you had a bigger venue, pretty sure you would get a higher volume of customers bc b1tcH3$ luvvvv ramen!!!!!!! (well I do, at least.) I got the tan tan men. Spicy ramen with choice of ground pork or chicken. Didn't really like it. It lacked flavor. You can taste the spice, but I felt it was missing something. I honestly tried to get myself to like it. I even ordered a regular, with extra noodles on the side. But halfway through, I was already full and found myself not wanting it anymore lol. But gg on giving more than enough noodles for a regular bowl. Good thing I didn't get a large. Disappointing meal for my first meal of the day :-( On another note, restrooms are small, but clean. Unisex. They have a toilet & a urinal. Their whole place is well kept & clean. Would come back again to try others if I'm ever in the area. Maybe I just made the wrong choice. I knew I should've gone with the tonkotsu lol.

I've been to this place a few times now and I can now say that I really do enjoy coming here. The staff are hospitable, the tables are clean, and the soup comes out super hot! The noodles are not like the ones you find at many ramen places such as Shinsengumi or Daikokuya, but a little bit thicker. The soup base for the Tan Tan Mien and the Tonkotsu Ramen are so rich and flavorful that I can say with a reasonable amount of assurance that I would eat it every day for every meal. The best part about this place is that it has a garlic press, similar to the ones you find in Japan, namely Ippudo Ramen. Although a bit pricier than most ramen places, it's definitely worth it, being that it's one of the only good ramen places in Arcadia and saved me the drive to the SGV. Too bad Ramen Yukinoya closes early, because I would come here for a late night bowl of ramen to satisfy my midnight hungers!

I found a new favorite ramen place! I enjoyed like how clean and urban looking it is inside. We got seated right away and our drinks came out really fast. Our server was attentive, which can be hard to find in smaller ramen places like this one. Tan tan mein was yummy! I REALLY like that they offer a smart size, most places don't! We all know that bowl can be impossible to finish sometimes lol. Very good price (less than $10 a bowl), green tea (iced) priced at $2.00 and free refills yum. I'll be back here for sure :)

Sometimes, the cravings wash over you, and next thing you know, you're into something new. That's what led me to Yukinoya after a long day at work and a horrible commute that made getting off the highway that much more enticing. Ordered my usual: tonkotsu ramen, spicy on the side, no ginger. Unfortunately my bar has been set very high, so there was a lot to reach for in this bowl, and I feel like it fell short. It really felt like there was too much sodium. Not table salt, really, but more of some other type of sodium coming from the noodle. There was also very little broth. I left a little bit disappointed, and would likely refrain from stopping by this place again.

Located next to Baskin Robbins and a Chicken Pot Pie restaurant and some other good eats in Arcadia, Ramen Yukinoya is a small ramen joint with graffiti art on the walls. It looks urban, hip, and it attracts the younger crowd and families. We came here on a Friday night and were able to snag a two seater table that was just tiny enough for the two of us. Parties of 4 or more had to wait because there is limited seating. However, there was plenty of bar seating available. There is a bench outside if you want to wait around for a table. I ordered the Tan Tan Mein with the pork rice bowl. The pork rice bowl is simple: shredded chasu pork on top of white rice with some green onion. Flavorful and simple all at the same time. It serves as a good appetizer to your bowl of ramen. The Tan Tan Mein (if you're a fan of Tan Tan Mein) is delicious. The egg is cooked perfectly and the soup is just thick enough to have that rice flavor with the grounded meat. There is a piece of bok choy for a clean variable flavor and a slice of nori. There is probably one other place that has Tan Tan mein that is better than Ramen Yukinoya (located in Orange County), but this is probably the best Tan Tan Mein I have had in the SGV area. Props to you guys. I will be coming back to order this bowl again. Ordering both the pork rice bowl and the ramen was a little much for me and I was coming in hungry. If you're looking to fill your appetite, order the combo, otherwise, just a ramen bowl is just fine. Service was quick and we paid our check and left. Rich, flavorful, ramen, this is where it is at!

  • Jenny L.

Easily one of the better ramen places in the SGV! I had the tonkotsu with spicy paste and corn while my boyfriend had the spicy miso with corn and bokchoy. Mine came with regular ramen noodles while my boyfriend's has a wider, thicker type of noodle. Both very delicious and flavorful! What I love the most about this place is that they have a GARLIC MINCER! We were SO amused and kept mincing up garlic, but it's okay because we're garlic lovers and definitely used it all up! It's a really small place next to a new Half & Half and Baskin Robbins in the CVS plaza on Baldwin. Definitely a really cozy, warm environment with extremely friendly staff! After ramen, you can go next door for some boba! Yum!

I was excited to try a new ramen joint during my visit to LA. Immediately upon entering, I appreciated their welcoming and friendly greetings. I loved that they engaged in conversation with us when we told them that we weren't from the area. I ended up ordering my go-to, the Tonkatsu ramen and thought it was just okay. The noodles were good, not too chewy or soft. The broth was mild and had good flavor but I just wasn't in love with the bowl. I'm glad to have been able to try it and have no regrets. A good ramen place to visit if you are just craving ramen and happen to be in the area.

Love the ramen!! And I'm not a ramen fan. Get here early there is a wait and not much of a waiting area.

  • Helena H.

Legit Ramen!! Hidden in a plaza with a CVS, Radio Shack, and other stores...this small joint has got pretty damn good Ramen. Small place so it can get busy. The regular size bowl is just right but if you can EAT, and is hungry, then you can upgrade to large. Service is quick, but keep in mind, there's only one server and she works her butt off, patience. Enjoy!

  • Katie L.

I got a regular size spicy miso with chashu and ground pork and i was stuffed! It's really fulfilling. Tasty and not too oily. The miso wasn't too spicy where my mouth would burn. I gave the 4 stars for the service. Our waitress got everyone's order wrong from sizes to adding extras.

  • Luke L.

A pretty small ramen restaurant with only one young waitress, but at least she spoke the magic sentence - "How was the food?". Now let's get straight to the point ~ Tonkotsu Ramen ($8.5, regular size) - Broth was pretty decent (not too salty and not too oily) and noodle wasn't too shabby as well. However, pork bellies were pretty average - they were not bad, but I had more tender and flavorful pork bellies in other places. Chicken Karaage ($5) - Nothing that made this dish stand out. A pretty average dish. Strictly on food, this is more of a 3.5 stars restaurant. I will give 4 stars because the service was pretty decent compared with other ramen places.

  • Karen T.

Ramen bowls come in two sizes and it's $1 for the larger one. I tried the tonkatsu ramen ($8.75 for a regular) which comes with bamboo, pork slices, green onions, bean sprouts, half a soft boiled egg, and a piece of seaweed. It is comparable to most other good ramen places and there is nothing good or bad that really stood out to me. I think they are popular for their fresh garlic. I saw a container on the table but I didn't try it. Service is good.

I have been coming to this place for a while and I have never been disappointed. The food is amazing and fresh. My favorite is the spicy miso with the thick noodles. The soup base is full of flavor but it's not overpowering. If you are in the area, definitely give this place a try!

  • James L.

I often grab Pho next door and recently noticed this place, but they always had a line, which makes me think I'm missing out. Finally, we went. Being a guy that like spicy foods, I naturally chose the L Spicy Miso. Apparently, it's very popular as everyone seated around us also ordered the same. Although the menu only lists the soup base, all bowls come w sliced pork, half soft boiled egg and a sheet of seaweed. Other items can be ordered separately to add to the bowl. The flavor is just right w the right amount of heat, not too spicy in my standards. Menu is simple. The place isn't big so it fills up quickly, and probably not ideal for large parties. This review is based on my only visit. Definitely going back as the weather cools down further.

Solid Ramen offerings from this little Shop in arcadia. Typical of good Ramen houses the place offered good savoury Ramen and even more flavorful pork fried rice. Expect it to be busy during the lunch rushes. The service is polite and food comes out pretty quickly.

This place was really good for its delicious ramen - and I came with my kids too. The ramen - we tried 3 types - everything was fantastic. For families with small kids, they have small sides which are more than enough for toddlers and young kids with small appetites. I'm coming back!

Not sure why Yelpers rave about this place. We went there for dinner on a Sunday night, and there was a line outside, surely a good sign until we realized that the waiters were not clearing the tables fast enough. We waited 25 minutes for the bar area to get cleared, and during that time a couple sitting by the window got their food, finished, paid, and left by the time we got seated! The poor service continued as the waiters did not refill our water (we actually got up the grab the pitcher), and we had to wave at them to receive our check. As we were eating, we saw a waiter ask one of the patrons if the table next to them had anyone sitting there...What? The line grew outside as we ate, and we realized that there was more people outside than inside eating, with plenty of tables to go around. Onto the food. The verdict was that the meal was solidly mediocre. The broth was thinner than Daikokuya's by far (we tried the tonkotsu ramen, miso ramen and Okinawa soba). The pork was of lesser quality. At least the noodles arrived fast (less than five minutes after we placed our orders) and filling. The only positive thing was the garlic press which you can use to smash cloves of garlic and add to your food!

great to have an actual ramen spot in Arcadia besides the daikokuya in the food court by 99 ranch! good little restaurant if you want a change from shinsengumi or if you live close by. reasonably priced and portioned and you will be full.

Get the Spicy Miso Ramen, it is worth the wait and worth double the price.

I don't normally write reviews unless a place really deserves it. Took my wife here for Ramen on a saturday night. The service was excellent! the wait staff was extremely nice, they were sure to offer us any option that may improve our experience and they kept our water glasses full. We were very well tended to despite the fact that the place was packed. To me ramen is ramen. But the excellent service and the affordably priced side dishes will keep me coming back!

  • Ashley S.

Loved it! Went with friends, tried great ramen. They even made a vegetarian broth just for me :).

    (5)
  • Jackson Y.

Yukinoya's ramen is actually not bad. There is good flavor in the broth, the noodles are properly cooked, and it's fairly inexpensive. But the service is kind of slow for a small ramen place like this. The tables are sticky(don't think you can wipe that away), and there's nothing super special about this place. When I know that daikokuya is just around the corner, I would never come here. It's cheaper over there, and I think it's better value, no sticky tables, and you have wifi! This ramen shop has potential. Just gotta make yourself stand out a bit from the rest.

Another rainy day, another new ramen place to explore and yelp about! :D My opinion: not bad! probably not the absolute best ramen place my bf and I have had but definitely not bad at all. We may return to eat here only if we're craving ramen and its on the way to our next destination. Spicy miso soup- not bad. I asked for mild so it was just perfect in spiciest. Lots of noodles. It came with a thicker noodle. Which I'm not a fan of. The waitress warned me but I didn't think about asking if they could give me the thinner one instead so that was my mistake. Gyoza $5-meaty! a tad on the oily side! big! a little overly fried! overall good! they give you plenty of dipping sauce! tonkotsu-broth was pretty flavorful.lots of noodles. Tips: *cash only. *you can request for mild on the spicy miso ramen. *Limited seats *Located in the same plaza as CVS, moffets, baskin robbins, etc. *1 waitress so be patient *you can add crushed garlic. i really didn't taste a difference but i just added it for fun since it was there and so many other yelpers highly recommended folks to do so. so i hopped on that bandwagon. *huge parking lot shared with other businesses. *restroom was clean but on the small side. -service was a bit slow when we first got there. because there was only one waitress. we got seated right away and given menus but having our order taken took a while. -i liked that they leave the utensils and napkins out for you to get on your own. other ramen places are not as generous with their napkins and we always have to ask for extra. -like other ramen places it gets costly=over 20 for 2 bowls +tax & tip! i would recommend this place. it's definitely good. wasn't too oily. have flavor. i say if you're a ramen lover, then give it a shot! it might be your new favorite go to place! go ahead and slurp ramen yakinoya into your belly!

I've only been here for lunch, but I'm always surprised that the restaurant is at around half capacity (or a bit more) even at peak lunch hours. The ramen, as others have stated, is not phenomenal but it holds its own ground to other places. I've only considered Shinsengumi to be the only decent ramen joint in SGV, but I'd say Ramen Yukinoya is comparable. Most of the ramen is priced at around $8.50~ for a regular bowl and a dollar more for a large. Extra noodles is about $1 for a half order and $1.50 for a full (whatever the hell that means). That said, you get good portions, quick and great service, and a nice ambiance at this place. Yeah, it's maybe a dollar more than what you would pay at other places, but the fact that I never had to wait to get a seat or deal with bad service is a good plus. I'll always consider/recommend this place if I ever crave ramen or food and just don't want to deal with the bullshit that comes with other restaurants.

The best noodles in town! Im definitely coming back. Love the service, I usually order the spicy miso, awesome!

  • Lilie N.

I always get the SPICY MISO ramen, it's well made, hits the spot, so I stick with it! We found this spot after being tired of waiting for Shin Sen Gumi all the time. We've been happy every time with the food and service we receive. Usually get seated quickly no matter how crowded and the food comes out fairly quick. The broth is delicious, probably not as rich as Shin Sen Gumi's, but I love the spicy miso flavor without having to pay the extra dollar! Although I have cut back on coming here because I make mine so spicy that I get a tummy ache after every visit :( But it hurts so good! I also like how they cook their egg halfway, it's the cherry on top for me, and brings a smile to my face. AND I LOVE GARLIC!!! Love how they give us a jar of garlic we can crush ourselves. It's just amazing... Good job Yukinoya, not too shabby...

  • Peter J.

Was cutting through town and yelped this place. Service is good and ramen was good. The soup base was good as well. Would come back if in in the area.

Amazing place! Great alternative to the hyped up daiokukya in J Town. The wait is short and it's not far from where I'm at. It's kinda one of those hidden gems / hole in the wall deal. The one thing this place has that really got me was the garlic where you crush it your self so it's nice n Fries you just add to ur ramen. I usually get the spicy miso soup and the California rolls great place and great customer service. It's my number one spot I go to for ramen

  • Josie C.

surprised to find a place like this in temple city/arcadia area. Filled up a need we lacked. Thank you very much. First off, I noticed that the waitress was Japanese. That set us off to a good start. I had the miso ramen and it was pretty standard for ramen. I also had their chicken karage. Love. Friendly neighborhood service. It gets pretty packed at night since its not too big. Overall a fan. Came back on a few occasions already. A pretty nice ramen place that isn't too far from home. check out my picture : )

    (4)
  • Katy C.

Came back a second time, it was a lot better. Actually quite good. It's a closer spot for me to get decent ramen. The broth is more flavorful. I'll be back for convenience of a sudden ramen craving.

    (4)
  • Brandon F.

I have had better ramen. But but at least the spacing for tables isn't as cramped. I ordered the miso ramen and the soup wasn't too my exact liking but it wasn't unbearable I would recommend this place if you are looking for a decent ramen place to eat at.

    (3)
  • Yadira R.

The best spicy miso soup, ever. There isn't a single restaurant that can compare to this place. They have a wonderful atmosphere and great service.

  • Ginju P.

At first when I tried this place out, I thought the ramen was okay. The broth is definitely different than the other ramen places I've tried. But I started to grow onto the taste, it's weird but you need to try it out yourselves. The place is small, and it does get really busy! So if you come during the wrong time you might end up waiting a while... I always order the spicy miso ramen WITH firm ramen noodles. The spicy miso ramen actually comes with soba noodles, so you need to mention it to the server that you would want the original ramen noodles instead. Some won't ask you, so make sure you mention it to them when you order. And the sizes are pretty good, the small is actually really big and filling! It's located in a plaza where CVS is. It's right next to Baskin Robbins so yay dessert afterwards (if you're not full enough) hehe. The prices are pretty decent. They have many options to choose from. They just have the basic ramen choices with combos. If you do sit at the bar, it is a bit annoying because sometimes the waiter doesn't really focus on the bar area too much, and more on the tables. Again that's where they have the water and utensil station so if you sit where the cash register is, you will have the waiter coming right next to you many times to get more ice, water, napkins, chopsticks, etc... -.- I guess they're known for their self serve minced garlic. I've tried it, and it's nothing special to me. It's actually pretty hard and takes a lot of force to mince the garlic. I like garlic personally, but their garlic isn't something to die for. My server was amazing! His name is Rudy, and he is just awesome. If you ever see a guy wearing a ramen shirt or a pink hippo shirt, that's him! He's very quick and attentive and is always smiling. Big tips and props to him :) But nevertheless, I will be back for my ramen fix, since it's really close to my house Yukinoya :))

I love ramen and have been looking for a good ramen place. Then I found this place! I always order hiyashi. It's basically cold ramen with fried egg, ham, chicken breast, cucumber, sprouts etc. If you want to give this a try, be sure to have the sauce on the side, so you can put however much you want. (Personally, I think they put too much sauce.) But note that the hiyashi is seasonal which it is only available during hotter weather. This little place gets pretty crowded past 12 so I would rather order to-go. Waiters and waitresses are very nice, but they are a little slow at responding to your needs.

    (4)
  • Anthony H.

This is the best ramen place in the area. They offer a few different choices on different types of ramen and each table has garlic and spice for those who like that extra kick. The portion size is perfect. It's not too big and not too small. The staff and service has always been amazing. My go to place for Ramen in the SGV.

Came here twice. First time I had the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was nothing to write home about (I'd say it was a 2 star experience) and second time I tried their miso. I def liked the miso more than tonkotsu as I didn't feel like tonkotsu was their strong suit. Good service overall however daikokuya and the likes of other ramen places are more authentic n better. This is run by a Taiwanese boss so it's not authentic Japanese.

Like ramen? Like spice? Get the Spicy Miso Ramen!! Don't let the outside and location pull you away. It is a little hard to find.. Turn into the CVS parking lot and you'll find it near the Baskin Robins! Walk through the doors and you'll like a simple nice clean Japanese influenced ramen restaurant! Wood chairs and tables with splashes of red throughout. The moment you sit down the severe comes quickly with a big smile! I thought the service was great! I came around 11:45pm on a weekday. Food came out quick and the server was tentative! I ordered the spicy miso ramen! Luckily unlike most other ramen restaurants I didn't have to pay extra for it. The egg and noodle was cooked to perfection! I enjoyed the broth as well very much! You have the choice to order reg or for a dollar more a large. The regular itself to me seemed like it had more noodle than most ramen places I've been too and was enjoy to fill my belly. I liked how then even had the garlic in front of you and you can crush it yourself into your bowl, I haven't seen that before so I appreciated the uniqueness. Food: 3.5 Service: 4.5 If you're in the SGV and want a quick stop at a ramen this is a place to consider!

  • Alethea C.

I ordered their spicy miso. I added spicy pastes and corns as extras also the marinated garlic they have on every table. When I first got my Ramen I definitely noticed it is on the oily side because it has layers of oil sitting on it. But after I spooned out the oil the broth itself was actually pretty rich and flavorful. As for the place, it's a little tight inside and they make it work.

Just plain out right delicious!!!! Everything is good. Not good for groups larger than 4, but the ramen hit the spot

Disclaimer: I am a HUGE ramen addict. I was looking up potential places to eat since I was in the area and this little gem popped up while I was browsing restaurants on Yelp. After looking through the pictures and reading a few reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen and it was DEEEEELICIOUS. I was hugely satisfied with the degree of spiciness and the flavor of the broth. Not too salty by any means, and the pork was very tender. I guess this is me nitpicking, but it's really hard for me to find a good ramen shop that serves the CORRECT RAMEN EGG. True, traditional ramen serves the egg with the yolk not 100% cooked so that it's soft and delicious when you bite into it. And let me tell you, this place did NOT LET ME DOWN. SO GOOD. To top of it all off, they had marinated garlic that you could press and add to your broth for extra flavor. I'm starting to salivate just thinking about it. I LOVE GARLIC. THE MORE THE BETTER. So when I discovered that you can add freshly marinated garlic to your ramen broth, I was beyond excited. I will definitely be going back. Their Tonkatsu Ramen and Shio Ramen looked really bomb too. If you are a ramen fan, you must definitely try this place out!

Craving for ramen so I found this ramen place. We ordered Tan Tan Mein, Tonkustu, and pork rice. All tasted very delicious. The soup was very creamy and thick, and the minced pork in Tan Tan Mein and pork rice was just as sweet and fresh as I liked. I hope it could open another store closer to me. I will go to this place again next time when I am in Arcadia.

Pretty decent ramen. Noodles are a little softer than I'd like. The broth is tasty, perhaps a little on the salty side and not as thick as other tonkotsu broths I've had. Mom's miso ramen was also very rich but she enjoyed it quite a bit. I went with the "tonkotsu" ramen which makes me wonder what the other broths were of?? We also ordered some chicken karaage which was also pretty decent but the portion size was a little on the petite side. Our side order of kimchee came in a cute little jar, already pre-dished out. All in all, tops in the realm of mid-level ramen. Hints of artistry peeked through once in a while during our meal. Delicious place to eat in a pinch. The crush-your-own-marinated garlic was a nice touch.

Actually I want to give it two and a half stars not three. There're two areas that I don't like about this restaurant. First is the restroom, since there's only one restroom, men n women have to share it. The men section is very disgusting as there's much urine there.....it made me want to vomit before I ate! Concerning the food it's actually very social. I think the major reason for the good rating maybe the price as their prices r good n the portion is big! Apart from it, I don't think anything attractive!

I got the tonkatsu. Broth and noodles were delicious. Wife got the okinawa soba. She was happy. Service was fine. Nice lady. A guy (manager or owner) casually came by and asked how is the food. Cool music. I like the art on the walls. Will I come back? Definitely! I would have given 5 stars but I bit into some nasty pork bone in my meat.

Great service and great food! The food comes out really fast and the quality is really good. Parking was a breeze because the lot is huge. The restaurant is small but they rock it well. Highly recommend this place if you like ramen.

Pretty good Japanese Ramen noodle. Since its close by home, Bf and I come here quite often. We usually get Tonkatsu and combo with pork rice. The place is very small and it can get bz throughout the day. We came here when they first opened with only 1 server, now they have 2.

There is a lot of meat with regular Ramen! The soup of Tonkastu ramen is fantastic! Seats are not much, but the environment is good.

Good solid Ramen joint; in other words its not the best I've had (even in the area), but it gets the job done with some yummy ramen at an average price point. Service is fine too.

I'm not a Ramen specialist or anything, but I must admit, I had my fair share of it and in all honesty, I HATE it! I love my carbs, but Ramen is just not one of them, it makes me bloated and sleepy and the side effects are just not worth it. Sadly, I was forced to chug this stuff down because I hung out with someone who loved it. I have tried Ajisen (may cause drowsiness/dehydration), Tamaya (may induce stomach discomfort/sudden bowl movements /vomiting), Orochon (may cause first degree burns in mouth), and Shinsengumi (...expensive and not worth the wait) just to name an few and finally here (may cause unexplainable happiness and satisfaction). I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen (~$9, cash only) and my entire view of ramen went flying out the window. Holy RAMEN it was good, it was a joyous bowl of al dente noodles with the most flavorful delicious soup ever. It also comes standard with half a marinated boiled egg and 3 slices of that yummy fall apart in your mouth pork. And the portion is huge!!! They also have all these condiments that you can add, but seriously though, it doesn't need it. I am no longer a hater of ramen, wait let me rephrase that, I no longer hate all ramen, ok I just don't hate Ramen Yukinoya!

This place is a little whole in the wall tucked in a CVS strip mall. I wasn't sure what to expect when I came but it was worth it. I got the Spicy Miso Ramen and it's was really good! The spiciness and miso flavor compliment each other really well. I would definitely go again if I'm in the area. This place is really small and there was a wait even with only two people so party of more then 4 would definitely have some issue.

Just went to Japan in October and ate more ramen than I've ever had. This joint is legit, brought me right back to Tokyo. Johnny out server was quick, attentive, and friendly. With great food and great service you can't go wrong. Most people don't realize and take advantage of Arcadia especially on Baldwin that this is literally the best Asian food in all of LA if not all of Southern California. We got there at the right time bc it filled up quickly and was packed. Small place and totally worth it.

I'd rate the food a 3.5, but am bumping my review up to 4 stars for the service! I stopped by here soon after it opened, but didn't get around to writing a review until now. I was quite excited for another ramen joint to open in Arcadia, as there aren't too many options close by other than Daikokuya in the food court next to 99 Ranch. We came early on a Friday night, so we avoided the dinner rush. The menu is simple and I would rate the ramen above average. What sets them apart is that they have full garlic cloves at the table with your very own garlic press! I haven't been back since my first visit, but wouldn't mind stopping by for dinner again sometime.

So thrilled I tried this place. It has become one of my favorite ramen joints. Tan Tan Mein was great. It came with ground chicken (substitute for pork), bok choy, bean sprouts and half of an egg. Hubby had Tonkotsu, & he didn't leave one drop of broth behind. The price is very reasonable considering the quantity and the toppings it came with. Can't wait to go back and try the other flavors. Definitely comparable to Shin Sen Gumi.

I've never been to Japan but I've had my fair share of ramen. If you don't want to drive to J town nor to the insane crowd of Monterey Park, this place will suffice. AND, I don't mean to settle upon. This place is pretty legit. I always get the spicy miso. Hubby is all over on the Tonkotsu. I've not ever had a disappointing order. Knock on wood!! The gioza is decent. The pigs feet is a bit on the sweet side for me. I do prefer my own braised porks feet. Rain or shine and you crave for something soupy, consider it.

Came here with my husband for dinner last night. I have never ate a ramen noodle restaruant before and neither has my husband (but we have done pho and also have both had ramen at home), so we were newbies. Anyways, came here because of the 4 stars thanks to fellow yelpers. This place is located in the same plaza as CVS & Moffett's Family Restaurant (pot pies!) so there is plenty of parking. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted on the server. She brought over our menus and then a minute or 2 later she came back to get our drink order. I told her this was our 1st time and wanted to know what was the most common or popular item on the menu and she said they are the shoyo, miso & tan tan men (hot). I ordered a regular size miso. I asked if I could substitute the pork for chicken and she said they don't do that here, but that she cold give me corn, bamboo shoots and something else (forgot) instead and so I did that. My husband ordered a large spicy miso. We did not wait long for our bowls to be brought out, but while we waited we did press a few garlic heads through the garlic press (garlic marinated in soy sauce and garlic press with tiny spoon available at every seat). My regular size miso was pretty big and I am sorry that I ate almost all of it because I was totally full. Too bad they don't have a small size, but next time I will probably ask for a to go container. Anyways, I really liked the corn and bamboo shoots added to my ramen and did not feel like I was missing out because I decided to omit the pork. I liked the broth because it was flavorful and not too oily. The thin yellow noodles were nice and light and easy chew, but did not fall apart in the broth. Our server had asked if my husband would like thin noodles with his ramen since the spicy ramen automatically comes with thick noodles. He picked the thin noodles because he thought it would be better. Anyways, he said he liked the soup but didn't think anything was special about it. He did like the pork and said it was tender (I did not taste his soup or his pork). He thought the large was a bit too much for him and said he would probably just order a regular size if we come back here. Our server was very good at refilling our water glasses and very good at checking up on us, especially since we sat at the bar in the far corner where there was no one else sitting. Seating in this place is pretty small, along with the tables. Each table sits about 2 people so I thought it would be better to sit at the bar so that you could spread out a bit more. The unisex restroom is small, but clean and adequately stocked with the necessary items. Overall, excellent friendly service and not bad for our 1st time out having ramen. By the way, this place is CASH ONLY.

im biased when i'm writing this review, but only read this review if you're like me. I dont like soup, i dont like ramen, pho, or any variety of soup. The miso soup was spicy, that's all it had going for it. Noodles were good, but just wasn't fulfilling, it was filling, but, to me, its kind of like eating rice and spices with out any entree, I felt empty, I enjoyed the single egg that was in my soup. Sorry for such a poor response. 4 stars because people were enjoying their meal, but minus a star bc i dont enjoy soup, but my girlfriend does.

A solid ramen option for people in the area. I personally prefer this place over Shinsengumi (I'm just not a fan of the thinner noodles used in Hakata ramen, but Shinsengumi is still really good, so don't hate). I'll admit, a 5-star rating for Ramen Yukinoya is a bit too high; they aren't perfect by any means, but they're a solid 4.5 on a good day. The pork over rice dish is quite tasty and unique to this shop (I've never seen it anywhere else and I've been to A LOT of ramen joints). Note: i've only ordered their tonkotsu ramen, which is solid, so I can't say much about their other ramen bowls.

OMG. Called this place last night to order take out. I had to call about five times before I finally got through. The guy that answered the phone asked if I would mind waiting on hold. I said no problem. Five seconds later, it hangs up. I called back TWENTY times and nobody picked up again. I hate this business. What terrible service. Honestly, with how small and cramped the space is, this business would do so well if it were to work on its take out orders since this restaurant is always full with a line waiting outside. I just can't believe this place. Never coming back here again.

Yep and this is my third review of today and I am giving a score of the sum of prior two. I have never been to Japan and even in my homeland I did not eat a lot of Ramen. However, when I walked into this store. I just feel like I hit the right track. For 2 times of visit I ordered spicy miso and Tonkatsu. They are all amazing. I do not need too much gyozas, Karage, I just need to sit down at the bar, listen to the soft Japanese music and make noise with my mouth while eating ramen( they say making noises while eating ramen is a compliment to the chef). Simple, and good.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as all the reviews make it out to be. The ramen is about average, the portions are huge and the pricing is fair. I had the spicy miso ramen and the pot stickers. The pot stickers were about average and the spicy miso ramen was good, but nothing to write home about. The garlic crusher is a nice touch, but honestly didn't make much of a difference in my ramen. Service, although it's only one waitress, is pretty good.

What a great Ramen joint. We ordered the Tonkotsu ramen, Tan Tan Mein ramen and chicken Karrage. The tonkotsu and chicken karrage was not as flavorful as other ramen places we've been to, but still very good. As for the Tan Tan Mein ramen, it's my new favorite ramen. The service was fine, despite the fact that the gal was the only server in the place. When most people state "she was running around" it's mostly figuratively. Well, this gal literally was RUNNING, table to table in her tennis shoes, taking care of everyone's needs, and that evening had a line out the door. It's not without saying we'll be back. Also, there is lots of good parking in the shopping center but I don't know how clean the restrooms were.

Dad and I had the ramen and karage. I had the spicy miso and dad had tonkasu. Spicy miso: portion was large and filling, taste was a bit spicier than I thought it'd be. 2-3 slices of pork which I wish they gave more. The egg was a little overdone and could have been gooier. Karage: tender and juicy on the inside. Portion was about 7 pieces each the size of 1/2 a fist. But definitely get it as it's great to dip with the spicy miso broth.

We were craving ramen in the nearby area and decided to stop by this place based on a recommendation. It's a small mom-n-pop style restaurant serving a variety of different ramen styles, including spicy miso, shoyu and tonkatsu, as well as sides such as dumplings, fried rice, etc. I tried the latter and while it was tasty, the deep, rich pork flavors wasn't quite there. We also tried the fried gyoza but it was just okay as well. The service is somewhat slow due to the lack of staff as there seems to be a single waitress handling everything from seating, taking orders, clearing plates, etc. Whoever the owner is, you should give this lady a raise as she is a rock star! Overall, the spot is a good choice when you have a craving for Japanese ramen in the area though I wouldn't go out of my way to go again.

Based on the review, I had a rather high expectation of this place. Although I wasn't impressed, I think it is only fair to give this place more than 3 stars because they did everything right. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and was satisfied with my order. The broth was pretty flaverful, the meat was tender enough, and the noodles were cooked right. The price is pretty reasonable and the service is alright. I guess I just wasn't in the mood for ramen..

Perfect fix after a nice work out across the street at LA Fitness, located at the plaza with Radio Shack and CVS. a nice diamond in the rough next to Baskin Robbins, small location with only 2 cooks and one server and one busboy. As busy as this place gets they are fairly fast on serving you and the food really are quite delicious! I had the only dish that is vegetarian, Yokisoba and its stir fried noodles with a perfect half boiled egg, the egg yolk still half cooked and it was PERFECT on top! throughly enjoyed my meal, even though it was slightly oily.

Tontaksu Ramen to go! It's great if you are craving ramen and want to forego the drive to J-town. Definitely order the tontaksu and pick up if you feel like staying in. The soup comes in a separate container from the noodles and extras. Not as great as J-town but decent for SGV standards. They don't normally add the raw garlic for you or to-go orders, so definitely make sure to specifically request it. I ordered a regular and that is definitely more than enough. If ordering the large, make sure to not pour all the soup into the noodles -- spillage alert!

Hidden ramen gem that mostly only locals in the area know about. Not yet discovered by the rest of LA, which makes it more endearing to the people who know about it. This gives it a leg up over ShinSenGumi and Daikokuya in some sense because it has yet to be discovered. No need to stray from their main ramen offerings. Spicy ramen is good, but strange with the thick pasta like noodles. Recommendation if you get the spicy ramen - sub in the regular ramen noodles.

SPICY MISO RAMEN!!! I absolutely love this place since it is a heck of a lot closer than my favorite ramen place (Santokua) and it absolutely satisfies my ramen craving! The place is kind of small, so be prepared for a little bit of a wait. I also love that it is in an obscure plaza, so parking is never a problem. And for those of you who are particular on how al dente your noodles are, you can let them know how well done you would like them to be!

  • Lawrence L.

The restaurant is located in an old plaza in the same corner as Moffett's and next to 31 Flavor's; definitely an improvement in this dilapidated shopping center. This could be an offshoot of Ramen Yukino-ya in Rowland Heights, the fresh garlic press in front of me at the counter could be a clue. It's also Japanese run in a part of Arcadia which is heavily populated with Chinese eats, which could be a good thing if you tend to count long blocks instead of miles for your next ramen fix. Btw, it takes me just as long to come here as it takes me to get to SSG or Fujisan on Valley in Alhambra... They have some interest at lunchtime as the place was filled when I came by; I sat at the counter as a singleton and perused the menu for a tonkotsu-men... Tonkotsu Chasiumen with extra chasiu comes with a little menma, half a tamago (egg), diced green onions, a little beni shoga ginger, and a slngle slice of kamaboko processed fish cake yelp.com/biz_photos/rame… . The regular portion was more than enough although they offer a large portion. The wavy egg noodles hide within a cloudy but tasty soup base underneath all the pork slices which were tender, sliced and arranged uniformly on top of the bowl. The soup was sweet with enough saltiness, but doesn't have the waxy, oily depth and complexity of some of the better broths. I guess what that means is that they have a "cleaner" broth which may appeal to some over the fattier kotteri broths that I like. The flash boiled hanjuku egg was ok, the yoke still looked a little jiggly but had already begun to set; I like my yoke to be barely set and runny when pierced, which may actually be on the underdone side for most. The noodles were cooked al dente with a slight bite which is fine by me. I didn't bite on adding the fresh pressed garlic which seems to be a Yukinoya thing... Another ramen place tried and done; I would personally choose to go to Fujisan which opened around the same time, but I wouldn't be opposed to coming here again if I were in these parts or if someone else wanted to come...

Overall average ramen place. A regular size shio ramen is $8.75 while a large goes for $9.75. The shio ramen was nothing to be amazed at. The broth was plain, the noodles were plain, and the meat was also dry. The egg was fantastic though. So if I perhaps worked in the area and was on my lunch break I'd consider this place for the sake of adding variety to my meals, but there's little reason as to why I'd commute more than 10 minutes for this place. The redeeming pro to this place is that their regular is actually quite big, so the price to portion ratio works for the customer. And Tea costs $1.00. Oh well, on to the next ramen place.

Give them the belt. This is the champion of ramen in the surrounding area fosho. I think this easily beats Shinsengumi, Daikokuya, and Benton, to name a few well-known ramen joints close by. I had the tonkatsu ramen. The broth was rich and delicious, ramen texture was on point, and the pork/ingredients were plentiful. The service was excellent and the waitress was cute/sassy (bonusss points). There's marinated garlic at the table -- ask for a garlic press to add to your noodles. Also, combo it up! Choice of a side. The pork rice was pretty damn good. This isn't the best ramen I've ever had (Ippudo in NYC - bucket list that!), but it's the best in LA in my opinion.

  • Kelly H.

I've been here at least 3 times and it never really got better each time, even though I truly wanted it to. The broth just isn't there, whether you get tonkotsu or spicy miso. It's just salty and doesn't have that bone brothy richness that other places have. I get bored of eating it half way through. I do appreciate that the price comes with the egg and a few other toppings already, and I like that I don't have to wait an hour like at shin sen gumi. Also garlic press = bonus points. Service is okay. I sat there with no water for a while because no waiter would turn our way. You can add a side dish for $2-$3. The California roll was decent but the rice was ice cold and kind of hard. I wouldn't get it again. But in the end, this place doesn't have much to compete with in the area and driving to Santouka or Tsujita is just too much effort during weekday dinner hours. Arcadia could use better ramen.

This place has been under my nose this whole time, and I just discovered it? Some Yelp Elite huh? As we were shown to our seats, I busted out the Yelp to see what people liked. The waiter noticed and said, "5 star review right?" and laughed. Well, yes, you guys deserve that 5 star and not JUST because you said to but because of the food and service. Tonkatsu ($8.75 - Regular) The pork has this tenderness that makes me close my eyes each and every time I put a bite in my mouth. Let's just say the noodles, broth, and even bean sprouts were ON POINT. I loved everything. The price is awesome. The amount they give you can almost feed two people. I can't stop raving. Highly recommended, for sure. Fried Rice ($2.25 Combo) Pretty big side of fried rice that comes with a ton of pork on top. If you're afraid of the ramen itself not filling you up, don't be. There's plenty, but the fried rice is good choice if you're one of those "it takes a lot to fill me up" kinda people or if you're simply sharing. Love this place. Best ramen in the 626.

I like coming here for ramen because it's close by and provides a more formal dinner setting compared to Daikokuya next door (which is located in a food court). I've been here multiple times now and I still don't have much to say about the food except that it's just okay. I have tried the spicy miso and tonkotsu ramen and neither stood out to me. The restaurant is pretty small, and not ideal for big groups. I had lunch with a group of five there and it was really tight, despite us having a big table. Even when I went with a party of two I felt crowded. You should pretty much expect a wait any time you go there. I frequent the CVS located in the same parking lot and EVERY TIME I drive by there are people waiting outside. At least they opened up a Half & Half next door so you can enjoy a drink while you wait :)

Ramen Yukinoya came highly recommended by a friend and I finally got the chance to try it for myself. I wasn't disappointed by any means and enjoyed a pretty good bowl of spicy tonkotsu ramen. Their broth had nice heat and the soft-boiled egg was seasoned and creamy, just the way I like it. The noodles were okay, though I prefer them chewier-- apparently you can specify how you want your noodles cooked and I will definitely do so in the future! The broth lacked some depth but the overall flavor was meaty and delicious. I seriously regret forgetting to order the marinated garlic and garlic press-- how could I?? No matter... I'll return soon to remedy my mistake and also to try their thick-cut noodles and Tan Tan Mein ramen, which I hear is supremely creamy. Yum!

Ramen, where have you been all my life? Until I tried this spot, my experiences with ramen were limited to plastic flavor powder packets and freeze-dried noodle bricks. The flavors here are rich and savory, the pork was tender and succulent, the pig foot was absolutely out-freakin-standing, and the noodles were tender and plentiful. I ordered the Pork Tonkatsu bowl with extra meat and a side of the Tender Pork Feet. Best decision I've ever made. I also saw that the famous Moffett's is right next door... Talk about a Booyah Moment. This place is tiny, so come early and expect to wait for the Greatness. Kristofer's Tip of the Day: Order the Tender Pork Feet and put it in your ramen. Trust me on this.

One of my favorite ramen places in the area. The place is relatively small so be prepared to wait if you're going during prime time lunch/dinner on weekends. Menu is simple. I've tried both the tonkatsu and spicy miso before and have preferred the spicy miso better. But the chashu and egg they give is on point! Chashu is super tender and tasty! Their broth is full of flavor, really good. I'm not sure if it's on the ramen you yet or what, but on my first occasion I got the spicy miso and had a lot of broth but when I got a tonkatsu, I barely had enough. Regardless, ramen is good and so is the service!

Finding a good Ramen joint is no easy task in any city, so when I heard about Yukinoya, I got excited! Generally speaking I compare any new Ramen place to Daikokuya, which is an LA favorite. Yukinoya is favorable with more menu options and shorter wait times, but the flavor of the broth is definitely not quite as good. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen, and while it was ok, it wasn't something to gush over (not that I gush generally - it just sounds messy). I will say, thought, that the shorter wait and decent quality make it an alternative for nights where you just want ramen, but don't want to drive/wait for something else. I would go back to see if perhaps their dry noodles might change my mind. Stay Cheerful ;)

I was thoroughly disappointed. With all the mixed reviews on yelp I thought I would give this place a try in hopes of finding a new favorite ramen place near home but it was a huge flop. I ordered the spicy miso ramen, gyoza, and my boyfriend got the tonkatsu ramen. The spicy miso soup base wasn't rich enough. The spice was evident but that's almost all I tasted. The miso flavor was barely if noticeable at all and it tasted extremely watered down. Not nearly as flavorful and savory as it should have been. The ramen noodles itself was cooked perfectly though, but I had the normal ramen noodles as the soba ones they typically use for this ramen was out. Unfortunately when rating Japanese ramen joints, soup base is the first and most important part of my critique in whether the food is good or not so this place gets a bad rating. My boyfriends tonkatsu ramen was wayyyy too salty. Granted I thought the soup base was pretty flavorful, it was overdone and so salty my boyfriend couldn't get through half of it. Shin-sen-gumi on Valley does a much better job with Japanese ramen so I would save your time coming here and just hit that place up instead if you're looking for some tasty noodles. The wait here is just as long as it is there except the food here is a thumb down. I really have no idea why people line up for this place..... I was tricked by the people + line :( Plus this place functions extremely inefficiently. The servers are slow in seating customers who stand outside waiting in the cold. They do however serve you pretty quickly once you sit down in taking your order and getting you what you need. Still though, you won't see me coming back here. So overhyped and unsatisfying. I tried the gyoza too. Nothing special. A little too oily for my taste. I think it could use a special sauce of some sort to make it stand out more. This place is mehmehmeh.

Pretty good ramen. The B health grade kind of gives it a certain je ne sais quoi, n'est-ce pas? Sorry for all the pseudo-French. I had the shio ramen, which is my go-to selection besides tonkotsu. The thickness of the noodles was more to my liking than the Hakata ramen at Shin-Sen-Gumi. And no wait too. But Shin-sen-Gumi does give you the full ramen shop experience with very attentive staff. The free-refill iced green tea was also pretty good - decent matcha-ness.

So damn good! Found this place on Yelp and after looking at other ramen spots it looked the tastiest. Growing up my family coined me the nickname The Noodle Queen for my love of ramen and noodles so you could say that I've definitely eaten my fair share of ramen over the past 29 years. As soon as I bit into my Tonkatsu ramen I said "This is how ramen should taste!" It was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and not too salty. Their noodles were perfectly cooked and like the three bears they weren't too thick, they weren't too thin, they were justtttt right! The prices were reasonable and our waiter was very nice. I've bookmarked this spot and will be back again soon and you should too!!

I've been here twice now and this place gets packed about an hour after opening hours (lunch/dinner). The restaurant is quite small, but what ramen place isn't. I've tried the Tonkotsu ramen and the Spicy Miso ramen. I was generally satisfied but not raving about it afterwards. The tonkotsu soup had a rich soup base, but overall it was over salted to the point that the richness of the pork was hidden behind the salinity. The Spicy Miso ramen is good. I decided to replace the soba noodles with regular ramen noodles and was pleased with my decision. But again, over salted. About an hour after my meal, I felt parched. Not the greatest feeling. Each ramen soup comes with half an egg, bean sprouts, pork slices (if applicable), a slice of fish cake, green onions, and a piece of seaweed. All for a really great deal of around $9. I will probably come back seeing as this place is relatively close to where I live and the wait isn't as long as other ramen places.

I'm in love with the Ramen! Came a couple of times and it is always soon good no matter what I ordered. I'm glad they have half portion for petite-size me as I always couldn't finish the regular portion most of the time. Soup is good, noodle is Q, service is good. Just have to come at the right time when there's no queue, makes the dining experience much more relaxed than having to wait so long to have your meal.

I think I've found a place better than Kanpai! We were in Arcadia, home of a wide spectrum of Asian food. Weather was strangely kinda chilly and gloomy today, so ramen it was. First off it was very clean inside, rated A (unlike Kanpai) , and modern simple furniture to accommodate the small space. Spray painted mural on the wall of a Japanese city scenery. We were seated upon entry and food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and it was delicious, perfect flavor and serving portion. All condiments were placed on table so I didn't have to bug our waiter too much. Server had kind of an ego and wasn't too welcoming. Could have been a little more attentive but it's all good. Affordable and quick. Make sure you check what time they open and close because they have a closed period during the day.

The best tonkotsu ramen IMHO currently in the SGV!!! Hopefully, tsukemen is in the near future. It's a small quaint place that delivers killer ramen. It's a hidden gem in Arcadia.

We've come to Ramen Yukinoya a few times (this used to be Global Express, a Shanghainese restaurant). Their menu is simple: ramen, cold noodles and rice dishes. On each table, they have marinated garlic that you can press into your ramen bowl. Since it is a small restaurant, be prepared to wait a little bit. They are located in the same parking lot as CVS and Baskin Robbins. Yelp 100 challenge - 49 of 100

So happy we stopped here! Fast service, very courteous, great food. They could even do an all vegetarian shoyu ramen for me, very yummy!

We came here for lunch, and it wasn't as packed as I was told. The Ramen here is just average, and I have definitely tried better. I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen which was good, but not great. I had to add red pepper into my broth just to make it a bit more spicy. The broth is decent but not as strong as I like. There was a half egg added into my noodles as the meet was a bit on the stingy side. My large bowl was basically half full. I paid about $9.00 for my noodles, and another $2.00 for my iced green tea that was refillable. Remember, we still need to tag on tax and tip. So go figure, the amount paid for mediocre noodles and a green tea was about average, but I would have enjoyed a better meal elsewhere. The service is iffy. I don't know what was going on, but we felt it was lacking the minute we sat down. No smiles, no eye contact, the manger seemed like he didn't care, and the waitress seemed overworked and stressed. And this was right at 12:00pm when lunch barely starts. Basically I felt like they only want their patrons to come, sit, eat, pay, and leave. Just like a production line. I had to ask for a refill on my tea. It should be automatic because it's refillable. Again, it was a burden for them to refill my tea. So I quit after one refill. Anyhow, sorry to jibber jabber about the service, but good service means a lot to me... as stated on my Yelp status line. Sure, good sanitary food is also a heavy weight. I probably won't be coming back here for awhile. But I hope they will improve a bit. A strong two stars for now. But easily can improve with their potential.

My friends and I were craving for some ramen in the area and we decided to check this place out. Definitely come here right when it opens because there will be a guaranteed long line! We ordered: 1. Tonkotsu ($8.75): toppings include chashu (pork), bean sprouts, bamboo, green onions, half boiled egg, fishcake and nori (seaweed). The broth was flavorful and delicious. I love the texture of the noodles. You can't go wrong with this one! (5/5) 2. Tan Tan Mein ($8.75): sesame peanut sauce with choice of ground pork or chicken, half boiled egg, bean sprouts and bok choy. The broth can be oily, creamy, and definitely spicy! My friend ordered this one and I really liked the taste of the broth. The next time I come here, I will definitely order one for myself! (5/5) 3. Pork Rice ($2.00): if you want to add it to your ramen as a combo, then you only need to pay $2. I forgot what was the normal price. The rice and pork were great, but note that the cooked pork can be somewhat on the sweet side with the marinade and seasonings. Overall, great addition along with a bowl of ramen! (4/5) One thing that I like about this place is that they offer fresh marinated garlic. Be sure to ask for a garlic presser so that you can add the garlic to your bowl of ramen. =)

My meal was wonderful. The texture of the soba noodles was perfectly firm. I was delightfully surprised that the eggs were served in scrambled strips and not as a boiled half (I only like scrambled eggs). The meat was so sweet even after soaking in the light broth. I love baby bok choy in soups, so of course I added that. I'll definitely coming back with friends.

First time here and the service was superb. The waiter was really patient and spent time explaining all the different options. We never once felt rushed even though there was a line waiting outside. This bowl of ramen was really good BUT a little too salty for my taste. I had to drink a lot of water. The pork rice was delicious.

My sister and I came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. It was PACKED! We had to wait 10-15 minutes for our seats. On each table, there is pickled garlic with garlic press that allows you to make your own minced garlic to mix with the soup. I've never seen this in a ramen place before! I ordered the spicy miso ramen with okinawa noodles. This noodle is more chewy and tastes so much better than regular ramen noodles. The broth is not too oily, but could have been spicier! I also liked the consistency of the soft-boiled egg. I would say this is one of the better ramen places I've tried in SGV! I would definitely recommend coming here to get your ramen fix! The price is also very reasonable :)

This place is a pretty mediocre ramen house at best in my opinion. I've been here three times so far before I wrote the review just in case my opinion changed. I got the Tan Tan "mein". The soup is super oily but I guess that's what gives it its... charm...? The soup is definitely better than its noodles. The noodles weren't very good in my opinion, but admittedly they were the right firmness for my tastes. The service is mediocre at best. It was a bit sad that the waitress kept forgetting crucial details to what was going on with our table. My buddy got the shoyu ramen and didn't quite enjoy it. The environment is cramped but decently lit. Seemed a bit cheap in style, but hey, whatever brings in the cash I guess. Tl:dr - give it a try but dont go with high expectations. Its pretty typical and nothing special.

Very busy ramen place for random Wednesday night. Party of one, seated right away at tiny table. Could have chosen bar seat as well. I like the fact that you can kind of just dive into a spot on the bar. The service was great, welcoming and efficient. Had spicy miso, good flavor, texture. Liked the broth, finished a large no problem. Would return for certain.

Food is good. But the service...(shaking my head...) Not only were people who go here after us seated before us, lots of mix-ups with orders. Those are just the adjacent tables. This is my updated review. In my opinion, the establishment has gone down. From 5 to 2 stars. Don't come when they're busy. And verify your check just in case. I'll still come if my friends want to come here. Otherwise, I'll happily drive to Torrance for ramen.

I've been here a handful of times with my friends from work. I come solely for the ramen. They are located by the Baskin Robbins and Half & Half in the same plaza as the CVS. A regular sized bowl will cost around $8.95. The restaurant itself doesn't seat many people so if you come in the middle of lunch rush, expect a wait. What I like about this place is the texture of their noodles. It's not too soft and it has a nice bite. I also like their broth. For the past couple of days, my sinus cavity has been stuffed up due to allergies. Currently, my nose if the only thing still stuffed up. So I came in today with my friend and got the Spicy Miso Ramen and within 10 minutes, I can breath with my nose again! (always seems to do that trick!). The one thing I noticed now is that they will ask you if you want the less sodium broth or the regular broth. So I suppose they are being health conscious as well. 19/100 Reviews for 2015

I love this place. I'm a frequent regular here and I must say, one of my favorite go to ramen places. Service is quick and reliable, and most of their stuff on the menu is to die for. Whenever I come, someone in my party HAS to get their tonkotsu. It's slightly heavy but ridiculously packed with flavor. I'm pretty darn sure it's the most popular item on the menu. A rare gem though, if anybody has the willpower to skip on the tonkotsu, is their tantan mein. It's not the traditional, dry cold noodles with peanut sauce. It's a hot soupy ramen with a nutty broth. Seriously I like it so much that I've ordered it the past 5 times I came here. Absolutely out of this world, must try. Other than that, service quick and what you'd expect of a small ramen shop, food is stellar, I would definitely recommend it here. Will come back here again and again.

The Tonkatsu Ramen was super delicious! We really loved the noodles here. They were cooked perfectly al dente The Tan Tan Men was okay. It was a little bit too sweet for my taste, and not spicy at all. Since it was so sweet, I couldn't drink too much of the broth. The service was great even though the tables were full, so that's a plus!

I've been here a few times and it's probably my go to ramen restaurant in the area! I ordered the regular miso ramen and it definitely satisfied my craving. The soup is a bit rich and a tad salty but the noodles are cooked well and adding crushed garlic to it tastes great for someone who loves garlic. The restaurant is kinda small and there's usually a wait during lunch and dinner rushes but the service is fast and the employees are always very nice!

Great ramen! The large i share with my son and was so full. Small place and you might have to wait if you go in the evening and on weekends but soo worth it! The broths aren't too salty at all and they give a pretty large amount of noodles. Staff is friendly and not overbearing. It was $8.50 for our ramen. $1.00 for the drinks. I will defiantly be going back!

I came by with the GF originally on her boba craving to the H&H next door but then noticed that I had Yukinoya on my bookmarks for a while. As good a time as ever! The wait can be a bit long or so I've heard since the dining area is very small but I waited not much longer than 15 minutes. I'm sure they can't fit more than 30 people in the restaurant so if you're in a large group, please do everyone else a favor and eat somewhere else (and I say that in the nicest way possible). I ordered the large tan tan mien ramen with the highly reviewed pork rice (+$2) and the gf had the original tonkotsu ramen. The tonkotsu was a rich and creamy broth but not overpowering with bamboo shoots, half a soft boiled egg, seaweed, sprouts, and three slices of pork. I was actually surprised the pork was much better than I had expected, super tender and flavorful. It was a much more standout ingredient. While the bowl as a whole doesn't stand out among good ramen places, I'd definitely order it any time. The tan tan mien ramen was really reminiscent of your classical tan tan mien but with a much thinner sauce (obviously) since it was combined with some pork broth. I actually really enjoyed it because it satisfied two of my cravings at once. I could really appreciate the fusion style of this type of ramen which adds to the versatility of ramen. Also as a garlic lover, I added tons and tons of garlic with their garlic press. The noodle consistency was decent but I think the broth in both ramens are the saving point. The pork rice had a much simmered sweeter profile which contrasted the rich savory points of the ramens. It's decent but really reminds me of a pulled pork sandwich which is kinda ehh for me. I don't know so many people are comparing this to shinsengumi since in my opinion, they are on different levels. This place is more up-to-date fusion type of ramen while shinsengumi is old school, super customizable ramen. Yea they both serve ramen but that's where the similarities stop. I dunno... It feels kinda weird to see the CVS plaza slowly being taken over by asian restaurants in the past few years but as long as the food is good, I'm all for it. Just don't close down Moffett's or I will be one unhappy camper... :(

Really good ramen! I've had the Tonkatsu and Miso ramen with the pork rice. Both were rich and creamy which is so amazing on a cold day. The pork rice is flavorful, but not too salty like I've had at other places. Don't forget to squeeze some fresh garlic and add the roasted chili for a unique flavor! Bottom line: Tonkatsu Ramen & Pork Rice. *(minus a star because the service was soooo extremely slow the last time I went. We waited over 30 minutes for our food! First, my cousin received her pork rice while mine just sat there and even when we mentioned we hadn't received it, it took us asking again 10 minutes later to get it. Does ramen really take that long to prepare?)

The pork rice side dish was so delicious! What's up with this girl raving about the rice instead of the ramen? That pork rice seriously helped kickstart our appetite for the night. The bits of marinated pork was so savory and flavorful. We usually like to enjoy our ramen simultaneously with a rice dish but we couldn't wait and devoured the pork rice within a minute! Oh, well. At least I know the next time I'm here, I'm not gonna be sharing it! I'm getting my own! Just kidding, it probably won't be as good when you're not fighting for the last spoonful with someone. :p The menu is straight forward with the standard ramen selection to choose from (i.e. miso, spicy miso, tonkotsu, chasu, shoyu, etc.). It took me forever to decide because I wanted to order everythang - even that yakisoba that we saw someone get looked bomb. We eventually opted for the Tonkotsu (pork bone based) and the Spicy Miso ramen with an extra soft centered egg. Both broths were delicious and satisfying. I cannot wait to go back to try the rest of the soup bases! I secretly wish they had a dessert menu but I guess they don't need one because this ramen joint is sandwiched between a Baskin Robbins and Half & Half Tea House! ...and that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is the best ramen sandwich you can find in Arcadia.

I ordered the hot tan tan mein with ground pork, and it was delicious. My friend ordered the miso ramen, which is a favorite of hers, and we split an appetizer of fried chicken. The only complaint, which is very minor, is that they serve canned Japanese iced tea, when I wish they had fresh iced green tea. The staff are friendly and portions are big. This is a winner.

They have gotten better. Small place but very authentic ramen. Expect to wait, but worth it. Also have bar seating if tables are full. They have 5 types of soup bases and you can add additional toppings like green onion, egg, extra pork, etc.

This place is amazing. Probably the best ramen I've ever had!! I got the tonkotsu large because I was starving and it was just perfection! They have these marinated while garlic cloves and a garlic crusher for you to crush the garlic into your ramen. So delicious!!! If you are a garlic lover like me you'll love this. It adds so much more flavor which makes the soup that much more amazing. The servers are super friendly here and very quick. I recommend this place!

Five clear stars!!!!! Their spicy miso ramen with ground pork substitute is delicious! It's my DREAM ramen in real life!!! The noodles are the perfect texture, not too soft not too chewy. It's perfect and I am the type of person who likes chewy noodles rather than soft ones and it's perfect for me, although it's super good for those who like soft noodles too! It pleases all pallets. :) and the broth is so good!!!!! Must have! Must try!! It's like The Lord dropped some ramen into my bowl! :) God loves you and hope you enjoy their delicious ramen! You're so special to Him! He's good! :D

This restaurant is in the CVS plaza! I had a hard time finding it since there weren't any pictures of the storefront. Anyways, I thought this place was okay, but not amazing. When we got in, my dad noticed that the tables were sticky, which means they weren't clean (my dad always notices things like that). However, this place is cleaner than Shinsengumi. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and my dad ordered the Tan Tan Mien. After we ordered, we got our ramen fairly quickly, less than 10 minutes. Since I didn't try my dad's ramen, my review is based on the Tonkotsu ramen. Before eating it, I noticed how much oil was on the surface on the broth. At first bite, the ramen didn't taste bad. However, after a while, I noticed how salty the broth was. I found myself eating just the ramen without spooning the broth up. The meat was tender, but not extremely flavorful. The ramen itself was a good consistency, so that was good. I wasn't able to finish as it was a pretty big bowl. It was $8.50, a $1 more than other ramen places so the price justifies the quantity. While we were eating, the restaurant definitely didn't have enough A/C. It was so ridiculously hot! Overall, I thought this place was alright. The Tonkotsu was salty, so maybe the other ramens would be better. They could also clean the tables a little more here. Also, they have garliic here, but it's soaked in some sort of sauce which made me a little wary. Makes me wonder how long they've been sitting there. One good thing that they have going for them is that they play good alternative music (that I listen to) in the background! EDIT: My stomach feels funny after eating this.. This was my first meal of the day and I had to use the restroom right after. The food is definitely not the cleanest. Must have been the garlic. -1 star.

I'm currently debating if this is my favorite ramen place. YES, ITS THAT GOOD!!! I eat here about once a month, and have been doing so for about 10 months now. Not once have I been disappointed! They're noodles are smooth thick noodles and the have soba noodle option, (which is really good by the way). Broth is always on point and pork is a perfect balance between fat and meat. The pork falls apart on its own. AMAZING!!! Tonkotsu has become my usual but all are delicious. Friend rice is amazing as well, almost as good as Daikokuya in LA. Pork rice is yum yum as well. lol The waiters are really nice. Perfect amount of checking in on us. Down side is that there is usually a wait, but it's never been more than 20 mins. However, know that I would wait an hour for this place. This place always gets me really excited. My mouth is literally watering just writing this!!! GO! You won't regret it.

There is absolutely nothing special to this place contrary to all the Yelp reviews. The ramen noodles used is your typical run-of-the-mill ramen (as in i'm pretty sure they bought it from the 99 ranch market across the street), comparable to the one you get in a packet of Shin Ramyun; actually the noodle they use screams Chinese owned . The pork is low quality and mostly fat as some others have said, i.e. Benten has the pork seared and served as a huge cube, Shinsengumi has small slices ripped off a bigger chunk. The broth is forgettable and somewhat salty. The only reason I come here is because Benten is a small drive away and Shinsengumi is always full. And then they have the guts to charge almost $10 for the meager amount served. I have never left this eatery satisfied.

Miso satisfied that I came to this Ramen restaurant. Located near a CVS is a small ramen place that could probably fit about 20 people. The inside is pretty urban with graffiti art work. You can either sit at the bar area or at a table. Just a side note though, you'd probably have to wait a while if you're in a big group. We sat in the corner bar near the doorway. I ordered the regular Miso ramen ($8.50) and my boyfriend ordered a regular Tan tan mien ($8.75). My ramen was pretty good. They gave a lot of meat unlike many ramen places. The only thing I would suggest is to make a the meat a little chewier or softer to chew. The broth was tasteful - not too salty. In regards to the tan tan mein. It came with a well cooked soft boiled egg, fresh and crunchy bean sprouts, bokchoy, and noodles. It was simply put, delicious. It had great flavor that balanced sweet, savory and salty. It was hearty and offered that classic soul fulfilling feeling after a great bowl of ramen. It was a little spicy but not overbearing. I would recommend a try as it is different from the usual miso or tonkatsu but similar satisfaction. We also got the pork rice. Which was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just a solid bowl of food that was the cherry on top if the ramen. The only thing I didn't like about the experience was where we were seated. Because we were at the bar near the doorway, the sign up sheet was literally near my elbow so I couldn't enjoy my meal as much as I would like to. So maybe just grab a little bit of rope & tie it on your door outside. The restaurant is small enough, we don't need more people than it can handle. But other than that, this place isn't bad at all. Just don't bring big groups...unless you want to wait a couple of hours. ALSO, don't mistaken the cup as a to go cup. I did that by accident and had to run back in to give the waitress the cup back. It's pretty common that people take it home. lol

Not a fan. I'm like a 2.5 star. I got the tonkotsu ramen. Pro: the chashu was decently tender and flavored the portion was pretty hefty even the regular con: the soup lacked flavor/depth the seasoned egg was not very seasoned i also sat at the counter and I didn't know about the garlic press/garlic...maybe that would have made a little bit of difference... i probably won't go back. still trying to find the best ramen place in LA.

The pork belly appetizer is a must try. The spicy tan tan men both hot and cold varieties are delicious. The service is always great. Great spot if you are hankering for ramen while in Arcadia. My husband and I drive regularly from Valencia to eat here. Bonus: there is a 31 flavors and boba place next door for dessert options after dinner.

This is my favorite Ramen spot. I always get the Spicy Miso with a Okinawa Cha-Shu. -Spicy Miso is always on point. Flavor is good but not too strong like some other places. The noddles and nice perfect, not too firm, not too chewy, good perfect texture. The Soup is on point as well, not too bland or too flavorful. -Okinawa Cha-Shu is delicious. I always get this side order to complete the meal. They use a butane torch to sear it. Good thing is that it doesn't taste like butane. The flavor of the okinawa cha-shu is really good. -They do get busy at prime time lunch or dinner time so do expect to wait if you go eat during the busy hours. -Service is good and very attentive.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night at around 8pm and it was packed. There were a lot of people waiting outside but thankfully since we were a party of 2 we were seated within 5 minutes. My bf and I ordered a large tonkotsu ramen and pork rice to share. Ramen: this was ok but I've definitely had better. Broth wasn't very flavorful and the noodles were too hard for my taste. The bowl also didn't have enough broth and I generally never have this problem at other ramen places. We wanted to ask for more broth but the waitress said there would be an extra charge :( The soft boiled egg was good though. Pork Rice: this was also just ok...I definitely prefer daikokuya's version of this. Overall, this place was decent. Service was slow and a bit lacking though. The waitress kept forgetting to bring us things and we had to remind her several times.

Last week, I tried a ramen place in Alhambra and I said there were definitely better ramen places in SGV and Ramen Yukinoya is exactly my point. This place is in the CVS lot and it's SO good. I'm glad my friend told me about it or else I for sure would've missed it. The service was great and the ambiance was pretty cool with the graffiti art walls. The space is really small though...and therefore it can get really crowded. There was a crazy wait on our way out, but luckily I didn't have to deal with that :p Onto the ramen, I ordered the Tan Tan Mein and thought the broth was really rich and flavorful. I was initially worried it would be too creamy, but it was perfectly fine. Of course, with any ramen...the broth is typically oily from the pork base and what not, so I'm not really sure what other people were expecting? The noodles were nice and chewy, really no major complaints here!

In the months that I work out of Monrovia, my team is the constant lookout for new places to add to our list of places to go for lunch. Ramen Yukinoya is one of the places that we have recently discovered and will be keeping on our list. From my limited experience of ramen shops in LA, I found that Ramen Yukinoya has a fairly extensive menu. They include the more commonly founds items such as shio, shoyu, miso, spicy miso, and tonkotsu ramen. However, they also have items such as hot tan tan mein, cold tan tan mein, and okinawan soba. You can make your meal a combo by adding items such as fried rice or gyoza. There are various add-ins, such as corn or green onion. I found it interesting that you could get a side order of kimchi here, or your more traditional order of karaage. I think you are looking at around $10 - $15 depending on how much you order. There are two things that I appreciate about Ramen Yukinoya. The first is that they can make your ramen with light salt. We always ate with fairly light seasoning at home, so I don't have any desire to eat sodium laden food for the most part. The second is that they have jars or marinated/pickled garlic for you to add to your ramen. While very pungent, it helps cut through the richness of my favorite tonkotsu ramen. They provide a garlic press, but I generally just throw in a few whole cloves right when my ramen comes out as it doesn't go through the press very well. The location is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. There are only a few tables and a few bar seats so go early or be prepared to eat. The few times we've been so far, we haven't had any trouble getting a seat, waiting at most 15 or so minutes. We will continue to frequent Ramen Yukinoya.

Nice little cozy ramen spot with awesome mural art. Got the Miso ramen with added corn. The broth was great and savory; the chasu was tender; the noodles were great! If I remember correctly, they were maybe slightly al dente, but I prefer that than soggy, swollen noodles! I ordered a regular, and I was thankful because it was definitely enough for me. All the bowls are the same huge size, but the waitress told me the large has about a half-size more noodles and soup. BF had the large Okinawa soba ramen, but they had run out of soba and replaced it with ramen noodles instead. The pork in that dish was SUPER good, braised and melted in your mouth. He said, though, the rest of the soup wasn't anything special. He also got the pork rice to start, but be aware this is a Japanese-style pork rice-he was expecting it to be pork fried rice, but it's literally pork shreds on top of rice, with ginger on top. I like this place because they're quick about getting your order in and out in front of you, and they were extremely hospitable. There's also a little tin of marinated garlic at each table/bar seating if you're into that. 5 stars because it's one of the best ramen spots in the area. Don't come in a large group or else you will be stuck waiting, unless you come early. Oh, and they DO take card.

Another pretty good ramen place in the SGV. I had made my annual UCLA USC ramen bet with my friend and decided to forgo the usual Shin Sen Gumi to try a new place. I got there at 12 and luckily missed the rush. People started lining up around 1ish. I was still waiting for my friend so I ordered the karage chicken as an appetizer. He came and we ordered our ramen. I decided to try the spicy ramen and my friend got the tonkatsu. The ramen came out before our chicken, which make me think it wasn't ordered. The ramen was delicious and it had that slow heat that made me say, "it's not that spicy" to "oh yes it is!" I tried a bit of the tonkatsu sauce that my friend got and it was also very tasty. Not sure that it's better than Hakata Ramen but its pretty good!

Soooo good on a cold, rainy day! There appeared to be a wait, but my friend and I were seated right away since we were just a party of 2! I ordered the (mild) spicy miso ramen and it was just the right amount of spicy for someone who likes just a little bit of a spicy taste but not enough to make their nose all runny! And I got the thick noodles because I never tried it with ramen and it was so flavorful since each strand was able to absorb more soup.

I love this restaurant so much. Although small and the wait can sometimes be overwhelming ITS SO WORTH IT. I always get their spicy miso with pork rice. Their prices are reasonable and also the photos on their menu and actually how it looks like when you get it which is so rare now a days. I can't express my love for this restaurant because there is just too much to love. Their service is great too due to the manageable size of their restaurant. The noodles are always fresh and the soup always tastes the same. From this place you can always expect the same great taste every time. But don't believe what I'm saying go and try it out for yourself!

I liked this place a LOT more when it was a Chinese restaurant called "Global Express" :-(. Back then, the food was tastier, the portions were more filling, the prices were much cheaper, and the dining area was only *slightly* greasier (OK, so I lied on the last part - it was a *helluva LOT* more greasier. I don't care, it was still a better restaurant). May God forgive us all for not patronizing Global Express more frequently when we had the chance. I've eaten at Ramen Yukinoya a total of three times. As I am a glutton for punishment (and a slow learner), it took the 3rd visit before I finally got the hint to stop eating here. During my last visit here, I could not help but notice that the tables were sticky as *shit*. After resting my bare forearms on the table, I could literally hear and feel my skin reluctantly peeling from the table surface. If my OCD consistently applied to hygiene, I would have been utterly disgusted (as it was, I found the lack of cleanliness tragically comical, more than anything else). The seats are all wooden and insanely uncomfortable to sit on for any duration of time - which was probably the cunning intent of the restaurant operator when he/she purchased the furniture. After all, why allow your customers to comfortably enjoy their meals at a lesiurely pace when you can passive-aggressively "encourage" them to hurry up and eat, pay, leave, and make room for more suckers ... err, *patrons*. Cushioned seats? Hah!!!!!!!! Keep dreaming, you won't find anything like that here. The ramen served here is not bad, but let's be honest here: it's *ramen*. I can't imagine how one would be able to bugger up ramen. And quite frankly, I find it sad that this place charges $8-11 for a bowl of ramen, yet still feels compelled to screw you on the pork portion (you have to pay an extra $1.50 to get more than the default nominal portion of pork). On the upside, the waitress was (mostly) polite, the ramen was served quickly, and the restaurant (somehow) has an A-rating from the health department. I was initially content to let Ramen Yukinoya escape with a 3-star rating, but they totally dropped the ball when their waitress dropped off the check at my table before I was even *half-way* finished with my ramen. Look, either charge me for your overpriced food up-front, or don't bring me the goddamn check until *I've* decided that I'm done and ready to pay the tab. Because when you drop off the check in front of me (smile or no smile) before I'm even halfway done with my food, it's utterly impossible to interpret your action as anything other than telling me to GTFO. Conclusion: I'd pass on this place. Vietnam Kitchen is literally a few meters away, and you'll get much better food for your money (not to mention more comfortable dining accommodations).

Amazing ramen! Very rich, piping hot, strong flavor, meat is nice and tender. Short wait for two people. Space is tight but I don't really care because the food is delicious.

My girlfriend and I found this little gem on yelp. Wow were we glad! I had the miso ramen everything was on point.... Especially the broth... Broth was beyond perfect... My girl had the spicy miso ramen and enjoyed it just as much. We also shared the pork fried rice and we both were in love!! One of the best Ramen places we have found!! Her and I have become avid ramen lovers and this one is at the top of our list! Thanks for the awesome food, great environment, kickin music too! We will come again for sure! :)))

My first time here & so far, it's the 2nd best ramen I have had. But customer service here is off the charts! The female server who works here (I really wish I got her name) was extremely friendly and we felt welcome here. The place was crowded even on a Wednesday night. The ramen here is really good. I only say it's 2nd best because I'm a loyal fan. But if I was in the area, this place would be the first place to go. I got the spicy miso ramen. This place is the ramen place where you order extra side dishes with additional costs. There are other ramen places that don't do that. My spicy miso ramen came with chashu pork, bean sprouts, and there is garlic that you can smash into your ramen which I thought was an extra added bonus! Adding the corn and my spicy miso ramen I think it came out to be around $10. Pretty affordable. Noodles were cooked to perfection, I just wish the broth was more richer in taste and more hot (temperature wise). The restaurant is pretty tiny so there is a long wait but definitely worth it. This ramen place is WAY BETTER than Shinsengumi.

Yaaaas ramen yukinoya yaas. This place is bomb. But get there early for lunch, like between 11:45 and 12:05. There's only room for like 8 or 10 parties I think. Very good food, fast service once you're seated, friendly servers.

This restaurant is easy to miss from the outside and does not have much seating, but the wall art looks unique and the way they set up everything is kinda cute. I have to say that the ramen here is neither good nor bad, but gets tiring after a while and I had a lot leftover. I suggest you get the regular size unless you're a big eater because the large size is pretty big. Won't likely be coming back because I'm sure I can find many ramen places that are better (don't get me wrong, this place is not completely horrible either).

I think the ownership changes in the last month or so... The Okinawan chef is nowhere to be seen and the wall just got a really cool makeover with a full Japanese street market mural. Your auditory senses will also be tested as they've now begun to play some 80's and grunge music... (Strange...) The food is still good as ever, but ironic how now there's two guys waiting tables and they can't seem to provide the same level of service one lady used to provide all on her own. Still my favorite noodle place! Reminds me of Okinawa.

One of my favorite ramen spots! Come here whenever I'm craving ramen, and am in the Arcadia area. Always have the spicy miso ramen. Yukinoya offers a choice between soba or traditional ramen noodles. Traditional noodles for the win.. The fact that you can press and add garlic, which they offer as a condiment, is a nice touch. Place is a bit small and can get pretty crowded. Ramen is bomb tho!

I took off one star because the restaurant is extremely warm inside. It's an open kitchen, so I understand... But it was too warm to eat comfortably. My party and I were all sweaty! The other star taken off was for the flavorless tonkotsu broth. I was quite disappointed. However, the pork was very tender and ramen was nicely cooked. The service was great too!

When you first pull into the shopping center were Ramen Yukinoya is housed, you'll be really happy to see a large parking lot. When I entered the restaurant, I noticed that it's cozy without being cramped. The lunch rush was dying down and I was seated within 5 minutes. Both servers, David and Sharon, had been running around during the lunch rush still seemed to have some boundless energy and greeted me I was seated. They were both very friendly and just made my experience eating here that much more pleasant. My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach this day. My meal consisted of gyoza and tan tan mien, which was a lot of food and unfortunately I was unable to finish my ramen. Shameful, I know. The gyoza were nice and crispy and I noticed that nice pleating that was done. For the main course, the ramen was delicious. The broth was just as described, creamy and spicy. I liked the option of crushing my own marinade garlic. Overall, very happy with my meal in the end. I hope I get the opportunity to return.

3.5 stars Shio broth was good but the Tonkotsu one was a bit too salty. I had to drink a lot of water the rest of the night. Regular size ramen was a decent portion. You can make your dish a combo by adding California roll, pork rice, fried rice, or inari for a few extra dollars. Good, quick service.

Yummy ramen & love the cold noodles! Things to know: - inside the plaza with cvs, moffets, & newly opened half & half express - small restaurant so not too good for large groups, but they will accommodate you! - gets pretty busy so try come early or expect a wait - prices: pretty cheap $8.50 for a bowl of noodles and u can make it a combo for about $1.50-$2 more - service: so good!! The waiter was super nice and always came back to refill our drinks Tried a lot of things here actually, went half and half with my cousin and shared the tonkotsu ramen and tan tan man cold noodle. Both were super delicious. Comes with a good amount of noodles and were really filling. I especially liked one of the other cold noodles that I've tried and it was the Hiyashi cold noodle, id definitely recommend that. I also tried the spicy cold noodle and that one was good too, it isn't to spicy but the spice definitely builds! They give you a lot of sauce with the cold noodles too so be sure to mix it ! they also provide lots of condiments, including pepper, spice, and garlic. They have a garlic presser which is really nice and it adds really good flavor to the miso soup. If you're not too fond of garlic, the soup is still good ! Overall, really liked all the noodles. The cold noodles especially, definitely give this place a try! :)

Came here tonight with my family. This is definitely a small establishment. I would not recommend coming with more than 4 people in your party. When you enter it looks like your typical Ramen house. It has a few tables to your left and bar seating to your right. I have had my fair share of ramen so I felt like this ramen house was decent but mediocre nothing special. I do live in Torrance and it's probably the capital for ramen houses! So in my opinion it didn't live up to par with the ramen houses in Torrance. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen. I added the spicy paste and corn as extras. When I first got my ramen I definitely noticed that it was quite oily. I am not sure if it was because I added the spicy paste but it had at least a 1/2inch of oil sitting on top. The soup had a good amount of flavor but lacked the richness of the pork bone. The broth was a lot more watery in consistency than other ramen broths I've had. The broth was also a bit too oily and salty for my taste. The ramen noodles were definitely al dente but I was disappointed when our waiter did not ask me how I would like my noodles cooked. I do like the fact that they have extra condiments on the side which included a chili paste and marinated whole garlic. Their novelty is that you have an option of pressing your own marinated garlic into your ramen. But was it just me or was it just too much work for the small amounts of press garlic you get? I mean not to be a princess but I found that part to be too much work. Especially because when you press the garlic only a small amount came out and most of it just got stuck inside the presser. Instead I ended up eating the garlic whole which went great with the ramen! The staff was nice. You just don't get the same authentic Japanese ramen house vibe though. For example, at most ramen houses once you enter or leave the restaurant the whole wait staff would greet you in Japanese. It did not happen here. Overall this place is decent especially for the area. I wouldn't mind coming back to try a different ramen just to compare.

This restaurant is excellent! Their ramen is exactly the way I expected it and their service is ok. It's usually very busy during lunchtime, so make sure to get there right when they open. I usually order the Tonkotsu Ramen, which is awesome. It is cooked to perfection. I also like the fact that they are next to Half and Half, I usually end up getting a boba drink from there after my meal. Overall, Ramen Yukinoya is awesome and I will definitely be coming back for a while.

My go to spot for Ramen. 1. Get here early cause there could be a wait. 2. Very limited seatings. Has very nice decors. 3. Broth is tasteful. They are generous with their portions. 4. Decent pricing. Similar to other ramen places. 5. As long as they keep it up, I will keep coming back.

This place is truly one of the better ramen places in LA, but yet it's tucked in Arcadia, which is better known for it's Chinese/Taiwanese food. However, this Japanese ramen house stands on it's on two feet with delicious ramen and delicious broth that will fill your stomach and warm your soul! Yes, it's that damn good. FOOD - 5 Stars: Where do I begin? - Gyoza: The gyoza was made perfectly. It was not over-fried or deep fried for that matter. I hate when places do that because it takes away the essence of the gyoza! Not here! They skillfully pan fry them so they have that soft yet crispy texture when you bite into a delicious piece of gyoza. - Karaage Chicken: You can't go wrong with karaage chicken especially when there is mayo dipping sauce. Chicken nuggets move over; there's a new sheriff in town! - Spicy Miso with Ramen Noodles: The noodles were awesome. The broth was spicy with a kick, but did not overpower the rest of the dish. The spicy miso broth will not disappoint and it will certainly wake up your taste buds. I'm sure once you take a sip, you won't be able to stop! Don't froget.... there's noodles in there you gotta eat too! BTW, your cheeks will end up a bit rosy and yes, it's ok to breakout into a mild sweat... it's all part of the package! - Miso with Ramen Noodles: The noodles were cooked perfectly and matched with the delicious smooth miso broth. This filled me up and I wish I could've finished broth itself, but my stomach couldn't take anymore! Just a note, the regular should suffice, but if you want a real challenge, then get the larger size... if you dare... SERVICE - 5 Stars: This place is busy, busy, busy. Did I mention busy? If you come during peak hours, there will be a wait. I do have to say that when there's a wait at a restaurant, then you know the food must be good! Upon sitting down, the wait staff is quick to provide menus and everything you need to start enjoying your meal. They take your order and before you know it, your delicious food is ready to be eaten. The staff is friendly, courteous, and attentive. I don't ask for much as a customer, but that's the service they provide and they do an excellent job at it. ATMOSPHERE - 5 Stars: This place is small and cozy. It's not a huge place at all, but totally gives you that feel if you were having ramen in Japan. You can sit at a table or at the "bar" and enjoy your delicious ramen with your buddies or special someone. RECOMMENDATION: This place is my go to place for ramen in the San Gabriel Valley. The meal was delicious and it's pretty authentic. I definitely give it two thumbs up! I've tried other places, but none leave me as happy and content as Ramen Yukinoya.

This is my go-to place for ramen. It has a casual atmosphere, with street art-like decor and good music running. Understandably, there can be a small wait depending on when you go and you are usually elbow to elbow (which I honestly don't mind, it adds to the vibe). The price is definitely right for the quality and the quantity, and I usually order the Tonkotsu or Tan Tan Mein. The ramen is always flavorful on it's own, but I love the variety of condiments that are provided. I always add chili paste and crushed garlic! All in all, it's a place I can rely on!

Went back for the second time. Food was just ok. Yukinoya salad could've used more crunch. Too tangy. They dropped off the bill in the middle of the meal, which is kind of weird. But then took forever to grab it when we were done eating.

Food: 7 out of 10 stars. As far as ramen goes this one was very decent. I got a shio ramen in their regular size and I thought it was perfectly salty and had great umami flavor. Their sizes come in only regular and large. The whole bowl consisted of 3 large pieces if cha Shu (pork) which I thought was very generous. Service: Great service. Assisted us immediately and served us promptly--food came pretty fast. And the check came without us even having to ask. All in all, good and decent service. Price: About $8 a bowl. Alright pricing for ramen. It came out to be about $28.61 before tip. Summary: if I'm ever in the neighborhood I'd go again. It's not revolutionary ramen but definitely good and satisfying!

BEST RAMEN IVE EVER HAD (though I'm planning on eating at daikokuya soon). Place is pretty small, not gonna lie, but the ramen is AMAZING. (We got the spicy miso and tonkotsu). Inari was good too, though nothing special. OVERALL THE BEST PLACE TO GET RAMEN IN ARCADIA!!!!!!

I had my first ramen here and haven't looked back! Soooo delicious and I love that they give you fresh garlic to crush into your soup! Everything is so full of flavor and amazing! Only con is the place is soooo small, can't go with a large party. Hopefully they move into a larger place or take over one of their neighbors!

Love this place! The chicken karage has such a great reading. So crunchy but not greasy feeling. I've gotten the spicy miso & the tonkotsu ramen. The little thing that helps make this ramen stand out from other places is the marinated garlic and service. The table has a little jar of marinated garlic and you press how ever many pieces you desire. I go with two, the hubby overdoes it :) I think it adds great flavor and makes it unique. Noodles have a nice chewiness, broth isn't the best but solid. The service is great, they are always attentive & sweet. Small location so you might have to wait. But half & half boba just opened next door so it could hold you over.

The ramen here is delicious, and they give a good portion. If there wasn't a wait, it would make it more worth it to come, but when you have to wait up to 30 minutes to and hour for this ramen, I would much rather go elsewhere. It's not so much just the limited seating, but also the slow cooks and servers. Take for example my last experience, the server gave our food to the wrong table, so we had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the cook to remake our food. People who came after us, got seated, and got their food before us! So we waited about an hour before eating, you can imagine how hungry and annoyed i was, and how pissed my friend was. We were late to our appointment. Ever since the famous tan tan men ramen house closed in Little Tokyo, this is the only place that makes it similarly and makes it well. So I still patron the place to get my tan tan men fix. Their tonkotsu ramen is also very good. I took out a star for the wait times, and another star for the higher prices.

This place is not bad. It's nothing special. Had the spicy miso ramen which has different kind of noodles. Its not your average ramen noodle but what they call Okinawa Soba noodles. It's just thicker and chewier. I did like the noodles and the spicy broth wasn't spicy but that was expected. The service is slow. Only one server. There was about a 15 minute wait which wasn't too bad. Their menu is very limited.

HOLD UP. 4 stars? It's way better than 4 stars. Soooo 5 stars for you Yukinoya. You go Yukinoya. So the past 2-3 times I've been there, everything has been on point. I stopped ordering the spicy miso and started ordering the tonkotsu ramen - and I get it spicy - and it is SO good. So so good. And this "regular" size bowl of ramen comes with half an egg, bean sprouts, chashu, bamboo shoots, nori, that round circley thing, and green onions (and pickled ginger but I don't like that shit). AND it comes with a shit ton of noodles. I'm not sure how large a large is but I can barely finish a regular... so must be large af. The broth is awesome. The noodles are plenty. The toppings are delicious. Prices are most definitely decent. $8.50 for my fat ass bowl. Cheeeeeeep. Also, the food comes out quickly and waters were brought out the second they were ordered. Our waiter (the only waiter working the full restaurant) was very fast and efficient. Nice. SO THERE YOU GO! This place deserves a visit if you love ramen.

Foods; - Tonkatsu ramen $8.75: I ordered the regular size which came with 3 slices of chashu, bean sprouts, seaweed, bamboo shoots, a half marinated soft boiled egg, shredded red gingers, chopped green onions and 1 super thin slice of kamaboko. The broth was rich and flavorful, but a bit too salty when I almost finished my bowl. Chashu was very tender and melted in my mouth. - Okinawa soba $8.75: This was a regular size which came with 2 slices of sweet chashu, 2 slices of fishcake, shredded fried eggs, shredded red gingers, seaweed and another things i couldn't remember. The broth was lighter than tonkatsu ramen and had nice aromatic smell. Services; Not bad but not that so good. Had a long waiting for the foods even there was only me and my bf in the restaurant at that time. Tips Better come before 5.30pm because this place is always packed when it is dinner time. Conclusion Ramen here was good and decent but same price and quality as another ramen places around this area. May come back when I have a craving for ramen and there is no need to be waiting for the seat.

Decent. Nothing special to see here, really. "Decent" may be the best way to describe this place. The ramen was average - nothing great but not bad either. The pork rice, which everyone has raved about, was so-so. The place is pretty small but it's their disgusting menus that need an overhaul. Paper takeout menus reused over and over again? Mine was sticky. Yeah, change that please.

This place was awesome tonight! The weather was perfect for a warm bowl of noodles. :) this place was very crowded and wanted to shit down but still let us in after waiting a long time. Our server was on top of everything even though he had a lot going on and it was only him and another guy. I got the pork based broth with noodles and it was good!! I have my hubby the egg and extra garnish because for a white person like me...I couldn't handle it! :) You won't regret coming here! :)

Edited to add: My husband couldn't stop thinking about the ramen and we went back 3 days later. 2nd visit was even better than the 1st! Our hard-working server Sharon took such good care of us. I really wanted to try the Okinawa soba with the Tan Tan broth and they were nice enough to indulge me. LOVED IT !!!! yelp.com/biz_photos/rame… "See you in another 3 days?" Hahaha! They just might! He's already talking about going back. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ (original review) My husband's patting himself on the back for finding this place! On this very chilly day, he had ramen on the brain and wanted to find a place somewhere in our niece's area. I Yelped the place he named, read some of my trusted Yelp buddies' reviews and was sold! We had a little bit of a wait to get in but that was okay. No way were we going to budge after looking in and seeing what the other diners were enjoying. Just seeing how big the bowls were made the hubby drool. This guy. He goes for quantity. Also, I really liked the set-up and decor inside. It looked and felt like a real ramen joint! My niece loves her Spicy Miso. She usually orders that at all the other places she's been as a first visit comparison. The noodles were not the usual ramen noodles but Okinawa soba. The other fillings made her a happy gal. yelp.com/user_local_phot… The hubby wanted something different rather than his usual type of ramen and went with the Okinawa soba ramen. His ramen also had the same noodles as our niece's and he went nuts over these fettuccine-like noodles. He thought the noodles would be like the usual dark buckwheat noodles. yelp.com/user_local_phot… They also ordered sides of pork rice and Okinawa chashu. The chashu was pork belly rather than the usual chashu and they loved it. yelp.com/user_local_phot… yelp.com/user_local_phot… They were sure liking this Okinawa-style! I knew what I wanted. Tan Tan Mein! I saw reviewer John T's happy pic and said, "I've gotta try that!" That broth. Loved it. I could have just been happy sipping that savory broth. yelp.com/user_local_phot… The noodles were just the way I like, a bit on the al dente side. I had wanted a smaller bowl, but the hubby & niece said for a dollar more, I should just get the large size. This was way too much food for me and I brought half of it home. Gave one of our sons the noodles (which he really liked) and happily sipped the broth rather than my late afternoon coffee later. Service was great! They were really attentive and sweet. Even seeing more folks outside waiting to get in, we didn't feel like our meal was rushed. All three of us are already planning to come back to try out more of their menu. I can't wait for warm weather to try out their seasonal Hiyashi. That's my favorite cold noodle dish and after seeing how untypical their ramen is, I'm eagerly anticipating seeing what their presentation is like. One touch we really liked was having the marinated garlic & press on the table. Thumbs up all around! We'll be back.

So surprised this place has such good reviews. I guess if I lived in Arcadia, I could see myself coming here to satisfy my cravings if I were very lazy to drive. But with Shinsengumi and Benton Ramen only a few miles away, you're better off there! Yes this place serves very good regular ramen, but it's still only regular ramen.

Expect LONG WAITS at night (1 hour & 10 mins ) for a table for 3. The seating area is very small. The ramen wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best I've had. If you go and they tell you the wait is 20-25 mins, expect double that. It's probably best to go solo or party of 2, easier to grab a seat.

I have so much to say about this place. First off, it's almost always crowded during lunch! On one hand, that shows how good this place is. On the other, make sure you can wait at least 15 minutes! The times I have been here, our wait has been quick even with a packed place. I always get either the Tonkotsu or Miso Ramen. You can ask them to make it saltier, or the noodles harder too! I always go normal on everything. Sometimes I'll get a side of California roll and more bean sprouts because those are my favorite, which is decently priced (only adding 2.50 to my bill)! The service is pretty good here, especially for only having 1-2 servers. Be patient! They're running around trying to seat, take orders and serve other people as well. The price is pretty affordable, about 10 dollars a person depending on if you get extra sides. This has to be one of my top favorite Ramen places!

Went for lunch today and had the creamy spicy broth with Katsuya (sliced pork)instead of the ground meat. I asked for a spice level 6. Perfect! It was spicy indeed but not lip burning. The creaminess of the broth was incredible! It was a natural creaminess....more like a reduction....okay the smoked garlic was incredible! I know I ate way too much to return to the office. Great service.

The food is good here but they are so slowwwww..... The waiter was fast and friendly but the chef who makes your food is so damn slow. Considering everything is cooked and chopped already. All he had to do was blanch the noodles in hot water and then add the toppings and pour the soup in!!!

Ramen Yukinoya has become a pretty regular spot for me, conveniently located near me in Arcadia and offers good quality ramen. I can't say it's my favorite spot in the greater area, but it strikes a great balance of price, quality, quantity without involving a very long wait like some of the other famous joints in the SGV. Because of that, I come to this ramen place more than any other. There's a good variety of the various usual ramen choices e.g. tonkotsu, shoyu, etc. but my favorite dish is actually the tan tan mein - a not-exactly traditional, kind-of-fusion dish with a rich, creamy, spicy broth. Also a fan of the Okinawa Chasu.

Had to make a quick stop during my job, and i was super close to this place. Got ramen and beef bowl. Ramen was really greasy and nice, i really like it as well as beef was really tasty. They give me extra rice for no charge. I would really recommend this place.

After coming here more often, we now know that the owner of Rutsu is part owner of Yukinoya. The older Japanese chef, who we haven't seen in a while, is from Okinawa. Not the owner :)

I definitely had better ramen. Seriously, what's everyone raving about? Could someone please tell me.. J ordered the "Tan Tan Men" which in my opinion was quite ugh. The soup base was literally like the ramen store out in little Tokyo that went on tv. All you could taste was the spices, and it's not in a good way. It wasn't creamy at all either. I had their "Shiso" which was more than ordinary. Nothing stood out that would want to make me come back again.

So glad to finally find a ramen shop that has tan tan men in the states! Awesome decor and friendly waiting staff. The gyoza was good. Could have been seared a little longer for optimal crisp factor. I ordered the tan tan men. The soup came out hot. Like super hot!! Which is a standard in Japanese ramen shops. Good toppings and noodles. I wasn't a huge fan of the chopsticks they used. Soup was amazingly rich and creamy. They had the normal table additives like rayu(chili oil), pepper, vinegar, and a house gyoza sauces. But they also had house marinated garlic gloves. Didn't find out what they were soaking in but probably some kind of tare. But they give you a press and I went for two cloves. OMG. It added this amazing depth to the flavor of the soup. Overall I would suggest this place to anyone that is an avid ramen eater. Or a someone that is looking for an awesome meal in the SGV.

Rainy and gloomy weather calls for one thing: RAMEN! This is a small little ramen place, with a neat little bar area where you can sit on a stool or be seated at a table. My personal fave is the Tonkotsu ramen, it's FULL of flavor, 3 slices of tender pork, and the broth is just ridiculously good. The best part though? Mashing the garlic in the press to add some more smelly goodness to your bowl. I mash about a handful of those suckers each time like they did me wrong, but it is amazing with the broth. I actually enjoy the broth more than the actual ramen and pork slices .. but that's just me. The only downside is the add-ons can be a bit over the top; they charge extra for literally extra anything which can be a bummer to those looking to pack on more goods into their ramen. The portion size is pretty huge, I can never seem to get to the bottom of the bowl before feeling stuffed like a turkey on Thanksgiving. I've had their fried chicken appetizer, which was alright, it wasn't really seasoned but they served it with a side of mayo for extra calories and goodness. If you're looking for a nice and easy on the budget ramen place, here's your go to place!

Went here on a rainy Sunday. There's nothing better that hot soup on a dreary cold day and Ramen Yukinoya fit the bill. We had to wait 20 minutes to get a table but once we were seated, service was fast and courteous. I had the tonkotsu ramen while others in my party had the tan tan mein and the shoyu ramen. The tonkotsu broth was perfect-not heavy and oily like other places and the noodles were the right thickness. I also added the pork rice which is a stewed shredded pork on a bowl of rice. A very nice addition. I can see why people wait. In addition, they're not screaming here like they do at Shinsengumi so you can actually have a conversation at the table. Decor is hipster spray painted walls and service was excellent. Will be back.

After trying this place, I think it is my new go to place for ramen. The wait was long but it was so worth it! The broth was on point and they didn't skimp out on the chasu. Having Half and Half next door is also convenient since you can get a drink after, but having to drink one of those after a bowl of ramen is truly a struggle.

Oh Ramen Yukinoya, how do I love thee, let me count the ways. 1) You supply me with Ramen. Delicious, savory, Tonkotsu Ramen. 2) You let me press my own marinated garlic into my Ramen. 3) You always have great staff who bring me my Ramen. 4) You have a delicious green tea which goes perfectly with my Ramen. 5) You are located close to my house which does not have Ramen. 6) You are also close to the Santa Anita Mall which SHOULD have Ramen. 7) You always seat my group quickly so that we may sooner eat our Ramen. Ramen Yukinoya, there are many more ways in which I love thee, but I do not want to bore the nice people of Yelp. Suffice to say, really good ramen for the area -- I'd much rather come here than Daikokuya!!! Atmosphere is intimate but not too intimate, and the ramen is delish! But go hella early if you even want a chance at the Okinawa Chashu!

I enjoyed this place, it is a bit hard to find. You really have to look into the corner of the CVS plaza to find it. I went inside this place and it was packed. However, the server did a great job and was able to seat me right away. I ordered the gyoza and Okinawan ramen plate; it was both very delicious and not too salty. Even though, it was packed; my food came out real quick. My friend who came later, she also enjoyed what she got. I do recommend anyone to stop by this place. I did feel bad that I stopped by near closing hours, but the server was real sweet about it. I will return for sure.

This place is tiny and the wait can be quite long. They sometimes run out of broth or noodles but I find that strange since that's all they mainly serve. when we do get in and can eat I like my Tan Tan Mein spicy. The broth is quite rich and I love the flavoring. The noodles are a chewy and I like that too. Recently I order the Tan Tan Mein dry. The noodles are I guess pre soaked in the broth and served cold. The flavoring is still there and still quite tasty. If you do come make sure you come early to make sure you can get seated and have some good ramen.

Delicious! We are picky about food and demand good quality, hot, well prepared food and this place didn't disappoint. Also please to see vegetarians options and a even an option for a vegetarian broth. I also had a California Roll side, which was tasty despite the fact that they mix mayonnaise with the crab, a practice many restaurants do-- but I've never been a fan of in general. The decor was very cool and servers were very polite and attentive. My only hesitation in recommending this place is that now EVERYONE will go there and I'll have to wait longer for a table!! Ha! Just kidding! Go and enjoy the hot, steaming goodness!

When it comes to my ramen, I'm VERY picky. I've been to a good amount of ramen places, and either the broth is overly oily, or there isn't enough flavor. It's usually the flavor.. My bf was craving some ramen for our Sunday cheat meal. I looked up some nearby places, and this one caught my eye! Although there was a line outside, my bf and I got seated right away. Thank goodness for being a party of 2! Inside is pretty small and packed. The seats are more than uncomfortable, and there's really no room to stretch. They blast that AC up in there, too. Both of us ordered the miso ramen, large, for $9.95. I got the combo with fried rice, and it's an extra $2.50. My bf ordered a side of chicken karaage which I believe is $5.00. On the side, they have marinated garlic (along with a garlic press), togarashi, soy sauce, pepper, chili paste, and oil. Our ramen came out very quick, and that large is no joke! My bf and I were killin' the garlic! The press doesn't work that well, though. The garlic won't come out nicely, so you either have to use the spoon or an extra chopstick to take it all off. I wonder how many people used their fingers to pick it out.....ew. The ramen comes with 1 nori (seaweed), bamboo shoots, kamaboko, bean sprouts, chashu, and a hard boiled egg. We asked for extra green onions on the side, of course! The ramen itself was not bad. Although it did lack some salty flavor..nothing too serious. I had to put a good amount of garlic and togarashi to get that perfect flavor. My fried rice and the karaage came out about 5 minutes afterwards, and they were both good portions! I LOOOVE how they brought out kewpie Japanese mayo for the karaage. MY FAV! UGH. I usually have to ask places if they have mayo. So extra points for that! The karaage was pretty delicious. The color of it? Not appealing whatsoever. It was more of a white-ish exterior..but I'm glad the flavor made up for it. Fried rice...disappointment. Very bland and blah. I wouldn't order it again. Overall, this is a pretty good ramen place other than the other ones I frequently go to. :D

I passed by this store many times and decided to give a try tonite since i didnt know wut to eat.. The place is a bit small but artsy! i love the art on the wall! The edgy lines and graphitti style. Overall, the interior leaves me a good impression, except the hard chairs! Personally, i luv creamy base so i ordered TONKOTSU (pork) w extra topping (corn). The noodle portion is more than usual (compare to other ramen places) and the ingredients are good, but the base is not strong enough.... :(

Garlic. Mmmm. I like coming to this place because of the fresh garlic press! Their broth is also flavorful and the noodles are a good texture. The original restaurant in Rowland Heights is better but this one is much closer to me. The difference isn't too significant to me so I'll definitely be coming back here. I usually order the gyoza too, which I think is made very well. Pan-fried very nicely.

Service in the beginning was good but some mix up happened. Three costumers that came after us got their order first and were already finishing up. We had to ask them in order to get our food and our appetizer came after our ramen. The staff didnt apologize for the unnecessary wait. Last but not least, the broth is so so. We won't be returning.

Ramen Yukinoya is a pretty hard place to find. It's in the plaza with the giant CVS. The restaurant is pretty small. It had 4 large tables and then seats at the bar. There aren't many waiters either. The night I arrived, there were 2 or 3 waiters, which is understandable since its pretty hard to move around. There was a full house around 7PM and we waited 20-30 minutes for a group of 3. I ordered the miso ramen, vegetarian style. The ramen came with lots of stuff on top. My friend also ordered the miso ramen, but not vegetarian. She said she would've liked to order the vegetarian after seeing my order. The chef was very generous with the corn, seaweed, and bamboo sprouts. The soup had an adequate amount of flavor; not too salty or too watery. My other friend also ordered the yakisoba. Also very generous portions. Yukinoya has these clamps to smash the marinated garlic cloves for the ramen. Word to the wise-the sauce that the garlic is marinated in has a strong smell. We lifted hte top and wham; it totally overwhelmed. Since I am extremely weak, it was really hard for me to smush the garlic with the clamp. The garlic added a bit more flavor to the ramen, but it gets lost in the soup IMO. Overall, I think the ramen was alright and that the vegetarian option is definitely bomb. Definitely order vegetarian style when you come! Even if you're not vegetarian :) Price wise, I think it was was average for ramen nowadays. Good for a casual lunch or dinner.

The ramen and broth were not worth the wait. I give them kudos for the broth in their okinawan ramen (rich in flavor), but I would not go out of the way to return to this place when there are better ramen shops out there and in the SGV area. The lackluster service, however, is why I would rate them lower. I understand that we arrived on a Sunday and it was busy inside, but we noticed several empty tables while a lot of people waited to be seated. The staff had a difficult time following through with the waiting list and I am not sure why since the space is small. What was disappointing about the experience was that our waiter forgot to place our order and we called him out on it after three tables after us had already received their orders. This is approximately 30 minutes after we sat down, and during that time, he didn't even stop by to check on our table. We had to ask him to check on our order, and he blamed the machine not having printed the ticket for the kitchen staff. The problem was conveniently isolated to our table. Please own up to your mistake. I would rather receive honest service than a half apology.

Pretty decent ramen. My tonkotsu ramen had good flavor, the broth was nicely seasoned and I really didn't need to add anything else to it. Noodles were cooked perfectly. Really tiny storefront, so I suggest coming early to beat the lunch rush.

We came on a Friday night, and as expected, the restaurant was packed and we had to wait around 30-minutes. I got the Tan Tan Mein with ground chicken, which is a favorite of mine at the City of Industry location, but the one here wasn't as tasty. The broth didn't seem to be as thick and the flavor wasn't as strong. The ground chicken was also fairly dry and tasted more like pork, if anything. When the bill came, I noticed that I was charged for the chicken but no where on the menu said the chicken cost extra. The service also kind of sucked, and the tables were dirty and sticky. I think I'll stick with Silverlake Ramen and Tsujita.

I was pretty excited to try this place, and even more excited when i got there and saw this little hole in the wall establishment. It really took me back to memories of japan for a split second because of the graffiti style art on the wall. I was a bit disappointed because it received so many good reviews, but the food didnt quite match up to the reviews. I got the spicy miso and my friend had the tonkatsu. My spicy miso lacked flavor. The broth was not bad but definitely on the boring side. I kept thinking that i wish i can have the spicy ramen at Ajisan. My friends dish was ok. She seemed to like it. I had a few bites and it was an average bowl. The garlic press is a pain to use. I tried to use it but didnt get too far so i just gave up. The regular bowls should be big enough for the average person and was about 10 dollars when all was said and done. All in all , the food was just very average. Lacked a bit in taste for both bowls. But the service was very good and portions are decent.

My family and I found this place on Yelp. We wanted to check it out since we saw they had really good reviews. I was with a group of 10 people. Just a warning this place is small. They have about five- 4 top tables against the wall, three- 2 tops against the window and a bar with about 10 bar stools where you can eat too. When we arrived the place was almost full so we tried to figure out a new place to go eat. The employees told us they could figure out something for us and within 15 mins they were able to get us seated! They had really nice, helpful service and were rushing around so our whole party could all sit together. I ordered the Large Spicy Miso Soup with the traditional noodles. I love bok choy so I was able to add that to my ramen for only 75 cents. I love spicy food, so the Spicy Miso was perfect! It had the right amount of kick to it and the broth was amazing. The large was probably too much for me, so the next time Ill have to get the regular size. I was very happy with what I ordered and I will be coming back here the next time I am in town.

Slow service in a not so crowded tiny restaurant. --+Spicy miso ramen with Okinawa soba: The broth was bland. The soup base tastes vegetarian, it lacked of that meat flavor in the soup. The soba tasted like Chinese knife cut noodle or Kalguksu. It was a bit undercooked and there was too much noodles in the soup. The soft boiled egg was perfectly cooked, it's tasty and the chashu was a bit chewy. ---Okinawa chashu is actually some kind of Chinese red braised pork with a charcoal flavor. But this one is overly sweetened, It tasted more like Bakkwa with a melt in the mouth texture. This dish was overloaded with sugar. You will get diabetes if you eat the whole plate. We don't recommend this overcrowded Chinese style noodle place with a watery vegetarian broth and overly sweetened chashu.

Good food, nice environment, friendly staff. Long wait, however. I ordered the Shoyu ramen for lunch. It was tasty, but a little too salty for my liking. I highly recommend this restaurant for a meal. I will definitely come back in the future.

From now on, I am going to take all bad reviews with a grain of salt (literally). I was pretty excited to come here but kinda apprehensive at the same time because some of the recent reviews of this place complained about rude staff and overly salty ramen. Well it seems to me that the people at Ramen Yukinoya have been reading those reviews and addressing them! The location did weird me out a bit since it was in a pretty dirty plaza next to a Baskin Robins and near a Chicken Pie shop but inside was cozy, airy, and VERY clean. Loved the furniture and decorations! And they were playing music like George Ezra and James Bay so that immediately won my heart. Came on a Tuesday lunchtime and it was pleasantly busy but not crazy. The menus are laminated to address a complaint previously written about their paper menus. There were two very kind waitstaff and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfy and checked in on us regularly. Our waitress asked if we would like our ramen broth less salty and remembering some of the complaints about the ramen being like blocks of salt, I decided to play it safe and said yes. Let's just say I feel pretty betrayed by the Yelpers. HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME??? The broth ended up being very bland. At first I thought it was just me since I love salty stuff but my bf, who usually prefers things lightly seasoned, even commented on the lightness of the broth. In the end, we had to ask for more salt. The waitress was very nice about it and laughed but I felt terrible and I'm sure she must be thinking "TCH. Ask for less salty broth and then you ask for salt?? Why even ask for less salt if you're gonna change your mind and make me run around?!" So I'm pretty sure either the Yelpers were exaggerating their complaints or the cooks really diluted the broth. Other than that, loved my ramen. The portions were generous and the meat was very tender and good quality (did not see the "mostly fat" meat like another Yelper mentioned). The noodles are on the softer side, which I personally enjoyed. I wish their soft-boiled soy sauce egg was a bit sweeter but it was still really good. The garlic was so fun to press and it added a lovely zing to my broth! Another fun thing are their water cups - they have cool ridges so it's a lot less slippery.

First time here! Located in the CVS plaza! I came here on a Monday night and I order the spicy miso ramen with regular noodles. I wanted to try it with the Okinawa noodles (thick noodles) but they ran out! Booo!!! I also added a side of pork rice!! It was sooo gooddd! You have to try it!! Last but not least we order the okinawa chashu pork belly. So much flavor and its so soft! Would definitely come back here for that! Decent ramen spot in Arcadia. Services was great! Always alert and refilling our waters without asking! On point! Haha

I'm not sure what the hype was but I wasn't greatly moved by the ramen here. Perhaps it was the hype that made me expect much more than I received. Service is subpar and they will not check in on you once you get the ramen. Just ok.

So my friend and I decided we wanted something hot after the mall-- and bam, this place had a gazillion reviews (and good ones too). This place is located next to CVS Pharmacy -- NOT Pavillions. Don't be like my friend and I-- we totally went to the wrong ramen place (AND THE NAMES ARE VERY SIMILAR TOO). Luckily, we walked out. Anyways, parking here is convenient because it's not too crowded (thank goodness). Upon arrival, we were greeted by the waitress/hostess -- she was super friendly! Seating was similar to Daikokuya, and the chairs were not comfortable at all! But whatevers, it fitted the theme of the restaurant. I ended up with the Tan Tan Mien -- which was SUPER AMAZING, creamy, and fulfilling! Perfect portion! On top of that, there are DIY minced garlic as a side -- which makes it so much better (since I love garlic). But yeah, the noodles were chewy, creamy broth, and a good portion of everything. Oh, and you can add 4 piece CA roll for only $2! The CA roll was decent and cold -- it wasn't my favorite, but it sure did hit the spot. Service was amazing! Our waitress would refill our water so many times to the point where I don't even need to flag her down. She would always check up on us and ask if everything was okay, so that's definitely a PLUS. Overall, I love this spot! There wasn't a ridiculous line and parking was easy+breezy. The ramen here is pretty damn delicious, and there are two sizes (whether you're feeling hungry or starving -- they got you!). Service was awesome. Having said, I cannot wait to come back. (I'm actually counting down to when I can come here again!!! Ramen anyone?! Preferably a hot date or a cool Yelper if you're reading this, haha). Turn Offs: - Seating was awkward + chairs were a little stiff/uncomfortable. Turn Ons: - RAMEN! - Service! - Parking! - Credit cards accepted!

It's been a while since my first review, and I must say that they have changed a lot! I am happy that they've made some improvements. Their ni-tamago (soft boiled egg) are truly soft boiled and are medium rare in the center and they explain that the spicy miso uses Okinawan soba noodles instead of the normal thin ramen noodles. When you order the spicy miso, the server even asks to make sure that you understand the ramen comes with those noodles. This time I had the shio ramen, made from pork broth. The soup consistency was nice and thick like ramen soup should be. The noodles were nice and chewy as well. Service was attentive and friendly.

The first time I tried this place was because a friend who lived in the area picked this place for dinner. Ever since that one night, this has become my favorite ramen restaurant! My BF and I have come back a few times now and whenever we crave ramen we think about this place. We live about 40 miles from here so we cannot come anytime we have a craving, sadly. But when we are in the area or plan to be nearby for an errand, outing, or anything, we gladly stop by for a bowl :) I cannot say whether or not the ramen here is considered "authentic" or whatever, but I like it and so do my friends. I am surprised with the bad reviews, so I'd say come try it yourself before you decide to pass on this place.

My boyfriend and I love this ramen place. The tan tan mein is very original and it comes either hot or cold which is a plus. The servers are very fast and efficient. However, the place is very small and there is always a wait, so make sure you get there early!

I stopped by around 8 and was slightly surprised that there was still a line. Luckily, we only waited for 15 minutes or so. They were definitely understaffed as there were only two waiters for the day. I felt bad for the older gentleman bc he looked pretty stressed out and sad... Ok, back to the food: I'm not a fan of ramen esp if I believe j can produce something similar in my own kitchen, but the spicy ramen was quite tasty! The broth was very flavorful, not too salty, and tasted very fresh. We also ordered the tan tan ramen and that was not good. I definitely could've made it in my own kitchen. There was too much oil in my ramen from the ground beef :/ Tip: definitely pay $1 for the large. They give you a considerable amount of noodles! Overall, decent service and decent ramen. I'd stop by again if I'm ever in the area

Ambience was good. Cool little spot with nice wooden tables and chairs. The spicy miso ramen with Okinawa soba style noodles were good. The Gyoza was good but it didn't really stand out above other ones I've had. The chasu was good too. Once we were inside, service was not bad. Friendly staff, but no one checked on us. For the food 4 stars. But I knocked a star off for their wait list. Freezing outside today, we were 3rd or 4 the on the list. But somehow people who arrived after us were seated before us. This happened like two or 3 times. I finally went in and asked about where we were in regards to the list and was told we were next. Hmm, not impressed. If it wasn't like 47 degrees outside tonight perhaps I would not have minded as much. But there are other local spots I'll try before I come back.

This place never fails on ramen. The service and wait time is always hit and miss. Mostly always on point :-D You can bet you will be waiting on the weekend and the place is small. At times there will be a spot to put your name down and other times not. Just look for it on the counter. Every time we come here there is always one wait staff. No matter what the crowd is like. So don't get too discouraged. They cook the ramen fast and the waiter or waitress that waits is doing their best and always apologetic to you having to wait. Beware also that it's always cold! Came here tonight and had an inkling for some warm pot pie cuz it was sooo cold haha. After we got our ramen I was warm and fuzzy again. I love the spicy miso ramen. It comes with thicker noodles than the rest and it's spicy. Which I like. Tried a couple others, and always come back to this. They give the option of adding extra toppings like bok choy and extra sprouts or seaweed, among others. Place is decent and clean. Tiny. Close seating. Small counter space and place is small enough to always get the staffs attention :-) Tables already come with garlic and a garlic masher (nothing I've used, but looks easy lol), soy sauce, chili and other toppings. Also, napkins, spoons and chop sticks are already on the tables. Price is decent for regular or large bowls. Never got the large. Looks way too big haha. Average for the bf and I is about $25. Which is for two reg ramen bowls and an order of gyoza. No drinks, just water. This has been our to go place for ramen as it's close by and depending on when we go, no wait, which is great!

Just so you know fellow Yelpers, I don't have a strong ramen background but now that I think about it, this was probably the best ramen I've ever had :) The restaurant is cute, small and cozy with limited seating. They don't have too many servers/waiters but I think they need it since the place does get packed and there are a lot of hungry-going-to-be-hangry patrons lol I ordered the large tonkatsu ramen and really happy I did. The flavor of the broth is delicious and the noodles were just the right length and munching diameter lol. The meat was tender too. Luckily, my ramen date showed me how to add pickled garlic and additional sauces to kick it up a notch. Definitely take advantage of those spicy toppings. You won't regret it. Also, the large portion is plentiful but ya know, I devoured it all :9 My ramen date ordered the spicy miso ramen. I almost ordered that one but maybe I'll try that one next time if I'm in the area :D

I always order the Tan tan Ramens, it's really good. The restaurant is small. So expect a wait to get seated. Don't come here on a hot summer day though. It doesn't mix with hot soup and a weak a$$ air conditioning.

I wanted to try this place so we decided to stop by here for dinner. Place is small so seats are limited. Our wait wasn't too long so wasn't bad at all. The ramen comes in two sizes (regular and large). I ordered the spicy miso regular with a california roll add on for 2 extra dollars. Our ramen came out shortly and it looked really spicy. I started pressing the garlic they had in the jar. You need to crush a lot of garlic to get the flavor. Surprisingly the broth was not spicy at all. It was really tasty and enjoyable. The california roll comes in 4 pieces and was a great addition to the ramen. Overall, this location is a great addition to the area, broth is flavorful, portion is just right, and prices are decent.

Just when a good ramen restaurant opens 5 minutes from my house, I end up moving. I was excited when Daikokuya opened in the Food Court next to 99 Ranch, but they proved to be a false Daikokuya, which means they suck and I'd rather drive down to Little Tokyo for legit Daikokuya. Aside from the short tangent, Yukino-ya reminds me a bit of Yamada-ya, which can be found in Torrance, Culver City, Costa Mesa, and a few other cities. Both places have fresh garlic you can press yourself, and both places have really rich, creamy pork bone broths. I like my ramen noodles curly, and I like my soup bases rich in pork bone flavor. I also enjoy a good runny yolk (preferably without having to pay extra $$) and fresh garlic. Yukinoya has all of the above, that's why I'm sad that instead of being 5 minutes away, they're now 15 minutes away. They don't have my favorite kotteri ramen, with black garlic oil, but that also means I get to eat ice cream afterward. At least that's what I like to tell myself. Overall, service was pretty quick and pleasant, and I'm definitely coming back for a ramen craving.

The food was awesome, but the services sucked. I had to ask twice to refill my drink. There was people waiting outside and seats were open. The waiter had no regards to time. I got the Karoge chicken and spicy misu ramen. It was delicious!! I recommend.

This place is americanized like Panada express or Yoshinoya. The kitchen crew shift from Japanese to Mexican. The waiter is American born Chinese. The menu has revised and decor has changed. The ramen looks like the same before, but taste has changed. Feel like lost soul of the Japanese cultural relativism. More like fast chain business, I think maybe is good for their business. But there is disappointed for me who want authentic ramen in Arcadia area.

Friendly service, I alway place to go orders. Servings are a good size. Recommend the fried chicken, not to crazy about the California rolls. Be sure to grab a bond card free ramen after 5 $15 purchases Card located at the cashier counter. Call to make sure of the hours, sometimes they close earlier.

**EDIT** Tried their Tan Tan Mein ramen for lunch today. The TanTan Mein consisted of a creamy broth with spicy sauce, topped with ground pork, moyashi tamago, and bokchoy. All I can say is.... It was McCreaaaaamy! I went a little crazy on the broth and ordered another 8 oz. helping of it. I also felt kinda guilty.... had more fun with the garlic presser again!! **EDIT** The place is a tad small, so expect to be nice and cozy with thy neighbor from the next table. You can literally hear their conversations. To think about it, it's kinda interesting. Service was wonderful here. Waitresses and waiters were friendly and attentive! Our food came out really fast. This was also my first time seeing a garlic presser! haha I think I was playing around with it for about 5 minutes. Friend recommended this place last night and I can tell you it was an AMAZING experience for both of us. Waited about 10 minutes outside and had a chat with a couple that was a regular here. They were going on about how wonderful this place is and once you eat their noodles you'll keep coming back for more! Couple was right! My friend and I are fans! My friend ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen and I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. Loved the soup base of both of them. The soup was tasty and wasn't salty at all. Wasn't sold on the egg that came along with our bowl of ramen... nothing can compare to Benten Ramen's soy sauce injected egg. Recommendations for an awesome experience.... 1) Get garlic presser and crushed garlic 2) Add and mix hot chili oil with crush garlic 3) Put in soup of the ramen and stir in soup 4) Enjoy the yummy eating experience!

This place hits the spot for me when I need a hot bowl of ramen. Then again, it's the ONLY place near where I live that has it. I usually either get the Tonkatsu broth or Spicy Miso. There are three downside to this place that definitely attracted my attention. The broth can sometimes be a bit on the saltier side, especially the spicy miso. Taste your broth prior to adding condiments! I like salty foods so it suites me well. Broth is still rich and flavorful There usually is a wait for tables. This restaurant is small so if you have more than a party of four, you're going to probably wait. The bamboo shoots in some of the ramen are obviously from a can... or at least taste like chemicals. Serving portions are pretty large. Enjoy.

Slings a tasty bowl of noodles, but nothing amazing. Had some really lousy service that mostly ignored our table. Waited longer for our food than other tables who were seated after ours. Not worth the drive from LA, but could be an OK spot for locals.

This small little restaurant tucked away in the CVS plaza is a hidden gem. They have pretty good ramen and the regular sized portion is definitely enough to fill you up! My favorite so far has been the Tonkotsu Ramen but I wish the tonkatsu flavor was a little stronger. Not bad for the area though. The Shio Ramen is salty but this restaurant's is a bit too salty for my taste. Another perk? Their marinated garlics are an added plus! (If you happen to be a fan of garlic.) Why only four stars? Service is a little slow considering how small the restaurant is. Expect to wait about 15-20 minutes for your food. Additionally, the set-up of the restaurant makes it hard for the waiters to see everyone so if you need something, it's a bit hard to flag them down. Other than that, they have pretty good ramen for the area but not the best I've had.

FOOD: Regular sized Spicy Miso...SO GOOD! "MISO" hungry, "MISO" full, "MISO" satisfied! Soup base was packed with flavor and with the addition of the marinated garlic plus more chili, the whole bowl tasted like a perfect bowl of ramen with a kick! It wasn't too salty as many ramen tend to become. I'm not too used to having "okinawan soba noodles" as a ramen noodle. All of this made my Spicy Miso Ramen so much more unique than other places. If you love spicy things, this is the one to get here! Although I didn't order it, I did get to try my friend's Tonkotsu Ramen soup. It was definitely a great bowl of soup! One spoonful and I knew right away it would be a good bowl of noodles! For both of the noodles, half of a soft boiled egg is included. It's good, but if you've ever had the soy sauce injected egg at Benten Ramen, Yukinoya's egg really doesn't stand out. AMBIENCE: This place is small and there's barely enough room between tables for a person to slide into their seat against the wall. It reminds me of the seating at Daikokuya or Shen Sin Gumi. You can totally hear the next table's conversation no matter how quiet they are trying to be! Be prepare to become buddies! SERVICE: The staff are mostly attentive and always seem friendly. They really try their best to work fast since the place always gets packed. Our food came out in a timely manner so complaints there! I think we waited for about 5-10 minutes before a table was ready for us. FINAL VERDICT: It's a nice little place in Arcadia for Ramen. So far, Spicy Miso Ramen and Tonkotsu Ramen are promising! It's a place I'm more than likely to come back to!

Let's get started on their eggs! Oh ma gawd~ it's the perfect ramen egg and it's like a wizard dropping all these feelings in your mouth. Why wouldn't you want a wizard dropping feelings on you? WOO I'm way too excited for their eggs! The ramen had a good amount of noodles and wizard dropping flavors and it's all for a good price.

I've been here twice and both time I left super unsatisfied. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone nor will I ever come back. The first time I went the server completely forgot about my order and I was sitting there for at least half an hour waiting for my food to come. People that came after me finished their food and left and I still didn't get mine. Finally told the server about it and she said she completely forgot to put my order in. Wow. The second time I went to this place was today. First off, the server was very rude. I told her I wanted to change table because the bar was very uncomfortable and she said well you're going to have to wait. So we decided to just move to the table without waiting for her and she said to us "wow you guys really jumped to this table quick" in a very sarcastic tone. Then we Finally got our ramen (this time it came out in decent time) and as I was eating I noticed a piece of hair in my ramen. Of course I was grossed out, so I told the server about it and her reaction was "WHERE?" In a very rude and loud tone. Really? You couldn't have said it in a nicer way? Then I had to fish for the hair in my ramen and she was like OH, then she walked away with my ramen without saying anything. She finally came back a few minutes later saying we're making you a new one, no I do not want a new one, I was so disgusted by it. I don't understand why this place always have such a long line of people. The place is so uncomfortable, small, a lot of the servers are rude and something ALWAYS happen when I come here, definitely would not recommend this place. I'd much rather go to Ajisen

I wanted to love that place so badly! The meal tasted like Ramen should taste but I suffered serious food poisoning yesterday after eating there. I had no food but the vegetarian soupless noodles and got terribly sick at night, until this morning. Service is fantastic but I have a feeling the cooks don't handle the food safely enough. Maybe something to work on ....

I decided to check out a ramen place once I moved into the area. Although I haven't tried that many -- I've decided to come back to this local shop over and over. I am a fan of tonkotsu ramen and that's all I order, but it is up to par. There is a bit of a wait most of the times I'm here so I go solo for a spot at the bar and no wait. Waiter/Waitresses are attentive and are accommodating. Please realize that at most there are two working at a time due to the size of the place. Be patient, they aren't trying to ignore you. Tonkotsu is a bit salty, but has a good balance. The pork cuts are delicious with a good balance of protein and fat. Although this doesn't compare to my favorite place Daikokuya, it is more than enough to qualify as a go-to shop. Honestly, I might as well be a regular. Highlights include the black garlic that you can crush and add into your broth and the egg that is -almost- always soft boiled to perfection.

It was one of lazy Sunday lunch weeks ago. I forgot the name of ramen I had, but that's not a problem to review their food because all three different kinds of ramen me and my friends ordered were so great. We also got okonomiyaki, chicken salad, and tonkatsu appetizer, but they were not much impressive. Tonkatsu was crispy enough, but it looked like it was fried with not fresh oil. The color was too brown, that's why. Get stick to their ramen the most. Their specialty is ramen :)

Delicious ramen. I could eat here often and not get tired of it. I always get the tonkotsu and my partner usually gets the tantanmen. It's a little tight inside but they make it work. Sometimes there's a wait but it's never crazy long.

Another good option for ramen in the 626, this time in Arcadia! I was in the neighborhood and looking for a lunch spot and this shop came up in my search. They offer a few choices and you can also pick between a regular or large size bowl. I decided on a regular TONKOTSU. It came with lots of toppings, including several pieces of pork, half an egg, bean sprouts, green onions, red ginger, a slice of fish cake and a sheet of nori. I'm a little scared to see how much more the large size is! I liked the rich, creamy broth and the chewy springy noodles, but wasn't too keen on the cuts of pork. Still it was a darn good bowl. This place is fairly small, with just a few tables, some bench seating along the wall and counter seats.

This place is small and gets packed really easily. I got here around 6:30 on a Thursday and the bars and the table seats were all taken. If you plan on coming with a larger group, definitely come early or have someone sign you in first while you wait for the rest of the group! Parking is easy since it shares a lot with CVS. The waitress was really nice, but she seemed to be confused most of the time and somewhat awkward. I'm not sure if she was a trainee but we did get serviced when it counted. I had the spicy miso ramen: yelp.com/biz_photos/rame… It was pretty savory, although I wouldn't say spicy. I had to add a bit of extra hot sauce to make sure it gave me the right kick. Overall, the ramen noodles were good and the meats were very tender and just fatty enough to make it a super filling meal. Also be sure to ask for the garlic press because I noticed it's not on all the tables and if you want some freshly grated garlic, you better make an effort to get all your tools! Overall, about average for a ramen experience. I didn't feel like my meal was mind blowing compared to other ramen places in the 626.

Based on the Yelp rating description of "Meh, I've experienced better." Compared to Daikokuya, this place has nothing on it. The broth wasn't as thick and "creamy" and the texture of the ramen wasn't right. However, I think by itself, the ramen isn't too bad and will definitely satisfy a dire ramen craving. Came here with my relatives for a small birthday lunch. They give you stuff like marinated garlic and hot pepper flakes on the side to add into the soup. The place is quite small and they don't take reservations. Their bowl was quite large and usually I can finish a whole bowl but I kind of got the feeling that I didn't want to finish it in the end.

Pretty rude staff. Didn't get the chance to order. Server handed me a to-go menu & said let her know if I had any questions. Asked a question & she said if you have a question come here and ask...The place is very small & not really big enough to awkwardly stand at the kitchens serving bar (where food & money are handled interchangeably) to ask her a question. I guess my business wasn't wanted...

Really great Ramen with great pricing and servings. It doesn't look like it has a lot of options but there is something for everyone and plenty of room to add toppings. we only had to wait about 7 minutes for a table. Service was quick, fast, and friendly. There was no language barrier so it was great being able to ask questions about ordering.

so i am a little surprised how well this place does and how well ranked it is. i've been to many ramen places (santouka, tsujita, jinya, ramadaya) and have to say this is probably my least favorite. i got the tonkotsu and my man got the spicy miso. the broths were only average, the noodles weren't that much better than top ramen, and the "soft-boiled" egg was very much overcooked. our favorite part of ramen--chashu pork--was unexciting. staff was friendly though and i guess if you need a ramen fix in the 626, this is it.

I've been wanting to try this place for the longest time since it's in my hood, but I'm usually everywhere else. I finally got to try this place when my friend was craving ramen. I had the Tonkotsu ramen whilst my friend had the Spicy Miso. The garlic that you grate here is so good. I'm generally not a raw garlic fan, but they flavored it really well and it smelled delightful when my friend was putting tons in his ramen. I'm a ramen purist though. I'll usually eat my ramen as is and then put the chili spice or whatever at the end when the broth is colder. The tonkotsu ramen here did not disappoint and is really giving Daikokuya nearby a run for its money. Both broths were still a bit salty for my liking, but I do like the ramen here. Egg here is pretty good, and the char siu is good as well. I also had gyoza with my order, which I was craving and was delighted when I bit into one because they made it PERFECTLY. THANK YOU. I added a bit of chili oil and soy sauce to mix together and it was perfect. My friend had the inari, and they gave him fried rice initially, but corrected it upon the sad look on his face when he told them it was wrong and the inari came out rather quickly afterwards. Great service, very attentive, good ramen. I would come back again.

It is a typical small ramen joint with the limited seating..I don't think I have ever seen a ramen place that fits giant parties, except maybe shin sen gumi. One thing that I found different from other ramen places is that they offer regular ramen and a different t type of ramen, I forgot the name but I think it was yakisoba. They also have fresh garlic in what looks like soy sauce in which you mash your self, different than the usual places as most already have minced garlic for you. I ordered a regular bowl of ramen and it was a decent size, comes with the usual stuff like an egg, bean sprouts, bamboo, fish cake, pork slice. I think you have to ask them for green onions though. The broth tasted good, wasn't super thick or didn't put me to sleep after (looking at you msg) ramen was cooked well, great service. Overall it was good, wasn't the best I had or had in LA, but on a cold night, it hit all the marks for a good ramen fixing.

This is a small ramen restaurant located in the CVS shopping center on Baldwin Ave. in Arcadia. Charge your phone or iPad before you come because you will need to wait during weekend. I love their spicy miso ramen. It's not too oily like some ramen places and is spicy enough for my taste. The pork meat is tender. The noodle is thicker and chewier than other places. I also like their fried rice topped with ground pork and ginger. It's one of the few ramen places that make good fried rice dishes because fried rice usually is not their main item. I like to have my ramen with their garlic sauce. Service is ok. They are busy so don't expect too much from the staff. Parking is easy. It's a place I'll probably come back and buy food to go rather than dine in.

I thought this place was ok. I ordered the spicy miso and it is pretty standard. The borth was not as flavorful as i wanted. I probably won't be coming back because the wait is not worth it. The place is pretty small so be prepared to wait if you go during the dinner rush.

Wow, large bowl is large! I felt like I was waddling out the door afterwards. I ordered the Tonkotsu and I was happy with the soup broth, it was rich and flavorful. I was extra pleased that there were garlic cloves you can smash into your soup for extra flavor (you have to ask the waitress to provide you with a garlic crusher). The ramen noodles where the thicker wavey type, I usually prefer a narrower noodle but these weren't overcooked and soft so I was okay with it. I think I would go with regular size next time I come here and order it combo style that way I can get a small side too. I am impressed with how this ramen houses cook their eggs, the white part is hard while the yolk is soft set and molten. Many ramen places just give you a hard boiled egg half, since it's easier and faster. There were no other patrons when we went at weekday lunch so service and food was excellent. This place is cash only, so if your wallet is all plastic hit up the CVS in the adjacent lot before coming here.

I usually have to go to Alhambra and LA to get my Ramen fix, but can I finally say that I'm glad they opened one here in Arcadia! It's about time people! This place is pretty good! Parking spaces are abundant because it's in a complex with other restaurants. This place is very small, just like the other traditional Ramen spots in LA. They serve several different types of ramen broths so it will cater to what you are craving that day! They also have some good tasting sides, such as fried rice, porl bowls, etc. The ramen itself is delicious! I've had the traditional miso and spicy miso. Both are great! I've gotten a combo with the pork bowl and that was also tasty. The food is a lot so I always share my pork bowl with the BF. The service is pretty good. The chef actually came out and apologized for service one night because they were training a new waiter. It was very nice for him to inform us of that instead of getting angry customers all night. I peeked in the kitchen and saw the chefs tasting the broth on and off. That showed that they really want to maintain the great quality of their food and tasting it is the way to go!

My five star review is strictly on their food. Their spicy miso is my go to delicious ramen. If you don't like spicy, their tonkotsu is very flavorful. For cold noodles, the hiyashi is my favorite. My other favorite is the side order okinawa chasu. For combo it up, their ca roll is good. Enjoy! Besides their great food, the service was also good and the decor is clean with a cool mural to check out on the wall.

Surprisingly this place is pretty good! $8.50 for a pretty big portion. Tonkastu is the one i always order. Very flavorful but make sure u ask for a garlic squeezer thing. Their garlic is on the table. Makes the ramen sooo much better. Def recommend this place. Servers were very nice and helpful

I would like me some shoyu ramen please! I think everyone in the whole world knows that there's tonkotsu ramen hype. Everywhere you go you can't escape the thick, rich, sometimes heavy tonkotsu broth. In those cases, even the shoyu ramen uses tonkotsu like stock and it's super heavy.. With that in mind, I was happy to find legit shoyu ramen from yukinoya! Although the restaurant is located in Arcadia, it's pretty authentic. Yukinoya uses chijire men (wavy noodles) and that's how I like 'em! Two thumbs up for their noodles. :D Majority of the reviews on yelp says the portion is small but I was pretty full off regular size bowl - hence I could barely touch my mini fried rice I ordered with ramen. *gasp* Speaking of fried rice, I'm a fried rice freak and I didn't think Yukinoya's fried rice was that great. It's not bad but just average for a fried rice from ramen restaurant. I've had better. Will I order again? Probably if I'm only in desperature measure to have fried rice fix. All in all, I would totally come to Yukinoya again for their shoyu ramen. Yay to finally having a good ramen spot in East LA! :D

Ive always wanted to try this place. Finally did and I have to say that its not bad. My friends and I all got different bowls. Spicy Miso, Tantantum, and Tokyo (something). We all enjoyed our menu and the service was very friendly. Never had to ask for a refill and they check on you just enough without being overbearing. I think this will be my new spot to grub after grocery shopping.

Average. I got the miso ramen. The soup had decent body, but the bean sprouts didn't work. It made the soup taste too watery. Decent portions. There's something missing in the ramen that I can't put my finger on. But definitely the ramen noodles were unremarkable. It tasted oddly bland. The recipe needs a little more work.

This was my first time at this place and overall it was a pretty decent trip for ramen. It's located in the corner of the CVS shopping center off Baldwin. It was very crowded and I waited about 25 minutes to be seated. Then after being seated I waited another 10 minutes for the waiter (who wasn't very nice) to even get to us, then another 5 minutes to get our waters and then another 20 minutes to get our ramen. So it was a good hour before I got my ramen and California rolls. I really did not like the California rolls at all, maybe I'm just picky with my sushi but they were terrible. The ramen was pretty good I would say, although I did ask for it extra spicy and it wasn't spicy at all. I enjoyed it, fresh, authentic ramen. If the wait wasn't that long, this would have been a way better overall trip. Was it really worth the wait though? Eh, not really. I would recommend this place, if you have the patience but I won't be back for a while.

Good ramen Spot!! I got the tonkotsu, making it spicy and with soba noodles (okinawa soba noodles)..loved their soba noodles because it was thicker, flat and a bit more chewier, so fresh and delicious!! I would definitely come back for more..the broth has so much flavor and the portions were just right!

When I tried this place it haunted me, in a good way. The richness in the broth from their tonkatsu (pork) ramen was a warm soft hug I'd remember forever. The portion size brought me great joy and the condiments that are added to it were a huge compliment to the rest of that rich dish. I advocate this place to everyone I know whenever they want some pretty damn tasty ramen. Oh and the star of the place is obviously what it should be, the ramen, which isn't over cooked.

Pretty decent ramen place! The broth is very flavorful and the ramen is quite satisfying. They are very generous with their portions! The large is indeed LARGE haha. I've always had to get on a waiting list whenever I've gone here but the wait isn't terribly long. Also the workers are very polite and helpful! Always a good experience coming here.

This place is just no good. The tonkotsu broth is way too fatty without being very flavorful. The noodles were just your average store-bought fare, so they lost me pretty early in the bowl. Too many better ramen places nearby to compete for my stomach!

This is my favorite ramen place! The ramen is chewy and is always perfect! Extra noodles are about $1.50 and you get a lot!! Bowls are about $8-10 bucks but with extra noodles, you have enough to take home! Great service! I also prefer this place over daikokuya and hakata ramen shin sen gumi.

Came in after a work out across the street. Ramen Yukinoya is quite small and there were several parties waiting outside but since I was dinning solo I was seated asap at the counter. My order the regular size tonkotsu with combo inari. Within minutes my order arrived and the ramen tasted as good as it was presented - Hot, flavorful and the ramen cooked perfectly. The Inari was also yummy and complemented the ramen with it's slightly sweet flavor. My waitress was efficient and friendly and I would certainly return here again.

I had no idea there was a ramen place located next to Baskin Robbin's until my friends and I decided to eat there. Got there around 12 PM on a Saturday and it was quite empty, but it filled up very quickly in a matter of 30 minutes. Suddenly, there were groups of people waiting for a spot in this very small restaurant. They have the popular ramen like Miso and Shoyu. You can add extra toppings (but it's quite expensive, in my opinion) and extra noodles for $1.50. There are combos you can add like a rice bowl, for a pretty decent price. They also have garlic marinated in a sauce in little bowls on the side, and they give every table a little bowl with a masher where you can mash it up and add it to your ramen to increase and enhance the flavor. My friends and I decided to order the Tan Tan Ramen (hot) and my other friend ordered the stir fried noodles (dry). The noodles came in about ten minutes. It was a very big bowl of ramen in spicy red broth with ground pork, egg, bakchoy and a sheet of seaweed. The ramen was very good, cooked perfectly and quite chewy. As for the broth, it was a little oily, but added a good deliciousness to the overall dish. I thought the ground pork in the broth was a little odd. I prefer the cha-shu. However, the best part of the Tan Tan Ramen was the egg! The yolk was a little runny, but incredibly melt in your mouth awesome. I probably wouldn't mind paying a little more for an extra egg. I was super full with that one order. The stir fried ramen was tasty, but I prefer eating ramen with soup. Anyway, I was a little disappointed with the service. The waiter never refilled our water. I saw him eyeing every table to see if people needed water, but he never made a move to refill ours. I think he wanted us to leave because we had sat there for a little while too long. Cash only!

Warm bowl of spicy miso with fat ramen on a cold day does the body good! a handful of chewy fat ramen, half an almost soft boiled egg, few slices of pork, bamboo, and a square of seawood=yum. add pepper and/or marinated raw garlic to your liking. there was a garlic press on the bar/table but i just ate the whole garlic. service was attentive and nice. writing about it makes me want a bowl of ramen now!

One of my favorite joint to get ramen! Spicy miso is a must and the pressed garlic is so bomb! Service is pretty good as well. They refill ur water pretty quickly. Staff are friendly! Definitely will be coming back often!

Best ramen I've ever had. You must try the tonkatsu ramen. The restaurant is a bit small and sometimes there is a line. The parking lot is huge by the way.

Super slow service. I waited 20 minutes for my ramen. Don't come if you are starving! Food is good though.

Decided to give this ramen spot a shot and boy was I satisfied. Immediately ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen large. The flavor of the broth was great and the toppings were on the spot. With the addition of the Naruto fish cake, it personally just topped it off for me. After finishing the noodles I decided it was enough and finished the soup. An awesome place to grab some ramen if it's near you!

So after my friends and I decided to have ramen before the end of 2014, we had to figure out which ramen shop to go to. After some delays, we had to decided between this and another ramen shop in Torrance, but eventually settled with this place, even though it took us almost two hour to get here due to the rain, 3pm rush hour traffic and the winding side streets Google maps had us take. Located on Baldwin Ave, in a small shopping center with a CVS, Baskin-Robbins, a boba shop, a Korean BBQ place and chicken pot pie restaurant (and a short drive from the Westfield Santa Anita), the restaurant itself is rather tiny. My friends, Chris, Noel and Pablo and I had to wait outside in the rain for about 30 something minutes with a bunch of young Asians waiting to try this place out as well. After we finally get in, we finally realized how tiny and cramped this is place is. We also notice that outside of the cooks and one other customer, Pablo and Chris were the only non-Asians in the place. After a few minutes of looking, Pablo and I order the Spicy Miso Ramen, Noel gets the Tonkotsu ramen and Chris gets Yakisoba. Noel, Pablo and I also got fried rice on the side, while Chris ordered a 4 pcs. set of California Rolls. California Roll - Chris ordered this as a side for his dish, but all of us took a piece. Its your typical mix of crab and avocado and sushi rice. Well, it wasn't bad by any means, but I guess that about all I have to say about it. Fried Rice - Noel, Pablo and I ordered this as a side dish for our ramen and at least for me, I think it might have been the better part of the meal. It was definitely different from other fried rice that I've had in the past, in that it looked like basic fried rice topped with braised chashu and pickled ginger set on top. The meat was tender and flavorful and went really well with the rice, though I wish they gave us a bigger portion. Spicy Miso ramen - While I'm not sure how Pablo felt about his ramen, I can say I was rather disappointed in it. First off, for some reason, this place uses Okinawan soba for this particular ramen only (every other bowl gets standard ramen noodles) and both Pablo and I wondered why did they give us something that looks like linguini/ fettuccine. To me, the noodles seemed like they were slightly undercooked and really didn't add much to the ramen. The chashu was ok, in that it was tender and had a little flavor and the egg was good. The "miso" broth tasted more bland and watery than anything that should have had miso mixed in, not to mention the lack of spiciness that I was hoping for. Hell, even the Ghost Pepper chicken I ate Popeye's earlier in the day was spicier and more flavorful than this crap and that's already mild in comparison to eating something with actual ghost peppers in it. If I pay for spicy and flavorful, I expect spicy and flavorful. While I didn't try Noel's ramen or Chris' Yakisoba, both seemed to actually like their dishes. On the other hand, I couldn't even finish my crappy bowl of ramen and had to settle with a cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream from the Baskin Robbins a few doors down. Service is ok, but nothing special. While the server we had was nice and did give us refills, he only popped up when Noel raised his had to get some attention. But I think it is somewhat accurate to say like others have, that the staff wants you to hurry up and GTFO so they can accommodate other suckers who think this place is legit. Seeing how the 2 and 3 star reviews for this place are a lot more accurate than the 4 and 5 star reviews, I suggest people who are thinking about coming here read those reviews first before coming here. To me, this place is about as bad as that hipster/elitist foodie loving hellhole known as Daikokuya. Overall, this was a rather disappointing experience for me and I highly doubt I'll be setting foot in this crappy place again.

Tried the pork bone ramen today. While the soup base was flavorful, both the noodle and the meat were not that outstanding. However I want to try other flavors. I am also interested in trying other small items on the menu such as pork feet and rice plates. There is a garlic squeezer and a jar of marinated garlic at each table.

A 3.5/5 I have always been a fan of Ramen, so I've tried many different kind of Ramen, and the ramen they offered here is not bad, i would give them a 4/5 just base on the ramen. However, because the restaurant itself is very small and understaff during rush hour; it took them around 20-30 minutes to serve a bowl of ramen i ordered. The servers were decent friendly, but kind of all over the place, forgot lot of my requests (ice water/ napkins/ boxes for to-go). I think i will still come back again since its so close to where i live and the quality for their ramen is pretty decent; perhaps i'll just try to avoid the rush hour :\

Yuki used to have a place near my home, and we used to go every week. But now he's moved to right down the street from my studio! So at least I still get to enjoy the great ramen, my poor hubby only gets leftovers. What can I say that hasn't already been said? I believe this is the best ramen in the greater L.A. area. The broth is so amazing, the texture of the noodle is perfect, and I love all the side dishes. The pork rice is out of this world! I normally opt for the miso ramen and pork rice combo. If hubby is with me, we get an order of gyoza to split as well. Try the soy sauce marinated garlic cloves on your food. So tasty! I like the ambiance better at this location than at the last, and it seems like the wait staff is a bit more attentive at this location as well. I recommend this place to everyone, and I have brought a lot of folks for their first taste here, as well.

I will keep this one short. Not worth it. The original location on Gale Ave in Industry is a little better but neither are worthy contender for LA's best. The broth at this location is likely made from tonkotsu broth mix (think whole-sale version of the package you get from instant noodle). If you experienced genuine tonkotsu broth made from bone stock then this is far from that. This broth is not made from dashi and slow cooking pork bones. The ramen lacks the texture of freshly made noodle. Again, either made off-site of sourced from restaurant whole-seller. The pressed garlic is a novelty that lacks real positive impact to the dish. The gyoza, like many ramen places in LA is an embarrassment on the menu. I will say this - the portion is good and the pork is not bad. Overall just not very impressive. An example of businessman trying to cash in on the relatively non-competitive ramen market in SGV by providing under-educated consumers with average products.

I'm not a big fan of ramen but this place was nice! One turn-off was how sticky our table was ): It made me imagine all the remnants of every past guest's food LOL. Each table comes with a variety of condiments to customize your ramen. I didn't touch anything except the garlic press, to be honest. I thought that part was really fun! You get to shred your own marinated garlic. My two friends got the tonkatso (??), which was pork bone. I got the spicy miso, which came with wider noodles. Each bowl came with half an egg, bamboo, and bean sprouts. The spicy miso was bomb! So delicious without tasting too heavy. Not spicy at all. Add a little bit of garlic and you're good to go. They also give your table it's own vase of water so you can keep refilling your own drink, which is nice. The regular ramen is huge for a girl. I ate maybe half, then gave the rest to my guy friends. It's $8.50, well worth the money!

Unfortunately didn't have a chance to try the place. This review is based solely in customer service. One waiter was having an extended conversation with a table while the other waitress is serving the other tables. Two tables were empty and haven't been cleaned up with the bar having 5 open seats. We asked the party of 3 ahead of us if they wanted to sit at the bar, and they said they've been waiting to sit at the empty tables that hasn't been cleaned up for a while. We proceeded to ask the waitress if we could seat at the bar for our party of 2. She said "oh, it's too small". What the Hell?

I'm Sorry-TOO MUCH MSG!! MADE US SUPER SICK! Don't drink the soup, it should be better. I went with my group of friend last night. It was really good, but went I got home all of us got really sick. Be Careful. Wish they will make it without MSG like the other good ramen places around. I guess it will be my last time there! GREAT services tho!!!

Oh man, the spicy miso ramen really hits the spot. I had been craving ramen all day while I was in Bakersfield. I deliberately not eaten much knowing I'd be back in the civilized world by dinner so I could splurge on delicious ramen and side dishes. I had to wait a bit for a table but I didn't mind. I'm more than happy sharing this awesome ramen house with the world.

Been here a number of times... can't handle all the MSG... :( They put a lot on. If they could find a way to cook without (yes, I know this is a Japanese place), the food would be amazing.

I have been a fan of the City of Industry Location for some time. At some point earlier in 2012, the owner/chef was training an older couple to run the place. I hadn't see him since. Never mind, the ramen tastes the same. Fast forward a few months, an I hear about t new ramen-ya that opened in Arcadia, Yukinoya. Now I know what the owner was up to, opening a second shop. The menu is a little different here. At the industry location they offer a regular bowl, and an upgraded bowl. Here all the ramen is the upgraded version. I went for the shio, which I usually do at Industry. Just as good, I think. There are more items on the menu here than at Industry, and it will take a few visits more to explore it more. But I'm really glad there is another good ramen option here in the SGV! Now if it only offered beer......

Pro: Large portion Has little bit of everything (naruto, seaweed, pork, sprouts, Several choice of ramen broth Good for individual No line in dinner time in sunday. Con: The Broth is a bit cold. The slice pork is too fatty Not idea for big group. I has to goes back there like noon time when the broth is hot to had another review, but so far i think is tokutsu broth is very similar to daikoya. Is not the best value, harkata ramen in rosemead. This place does serve you 4 different type of ramen (shio, shoyu, miso and Tonkotsu Ramen.

OMG I've been back 3 times since my last review for the tan tan mein! It's so good! I definitely like it better than their ramen! I also like that you can order a regular or large size.

My wife and I have been looking for a good ramen place in Arcadia. We're glad to find this place on Baldwin Ave near The Arcadia mall. The size of the place is just right with plenty of park. They have awesome tonkutso ramen available in two sizes regular and large. The soup has excellent flavor and it's comparable to Ajisen. It's not salty and greasy. The egg is cooked perfectly and the toppings are just enough. The price is reasonable especially in this area. The press garlic is one of a kind. The garlic gives more flavor. I don't see this in other ramen place.

    (4)
  • Jeff T.

Flavorful, not salty. Portions are a decent size (they offer large!) -tonkotsu good -tan tan men good -spicy MEEE SOOO GOOOOOOD Nice ambiance. Unique (chairs might be a little on the solid side) Slightly pricey. (not really tho) Takeout may require more than one call. (only one server?) Overally would recommend, would go back. getting take out now :D.

We found this place on Yelp and we love it! For each bowl, it has all the meat, egg and veggie. I super love the egg which is marinated and softly boiled. The egg itself is the best in LA so far. Both egg white and yolk are very slight watery, not hard boiled and dry at all. My bf ordered the pork soup base which is really good. It's light, not as extravagantly msg flavored for sure. My shoyu ramen is also just right! Nothing is too strong but just hitting the point. The spice powder on the table definitely helps add on the flavor and the crushed garlic is also good add-on for the raman. One big thing we were so happy that we didn't miss is the sider of tender pork feet. Jeez it's the best pork feet we had in US. It has been cooked really tender so that a slight pull by the spoon can tear it apart. The sauce is also good which is shoyu mainly but with a bit spicy flavor which just hits the point too. Another thing we like about this place is, it's not like other super famous ramen place which you have to wait like an hour to get in. This is in a CVS plaza and we got in right away thought it's full house inside. In short, easy parking, great ramen, great sides. All the flavors are just right and now we are ready to visit there again!

Busy times are frustrating. Not good for big groups but lots of bug groups waiting for tables. The tables and bar area is very small not good for toddlers. Live and learn. Had to get our food boxes up on arrival as said toddler had reached his limit of people watching and eating. Ramen was tasty. Wife loves hers however thee was confusion over my order as I mentioned I was allergic to soy beans. Not soy sauce. Just the beans and tofu etc. I've never had any problem with miso it tonkatsu as I just don't eat the tofu however the waiter was very concerned and suggested I get plain broth... So I did and it was that, plain bland, bummer. We took it home and I fixed it up with some seasoning salt, chillies powder and garlic. Tasted great, loved the eggs and meat but just wish I could've had the tonkatsu as ordered and dealt with the allergies later with some Benadryl. Oh well, I will try it again next time NOT on a Sunday lunch rush. Very popular, everything smelled great. Crowd looked happy to wait and left slower and fuller than when they came in.

While tending to some wedding activities in Pasadena, my fiancé and I were in search of a good ramen place that was nearby. Well, Ramen Yukinoya was close enough considering their rave reviews. We walked out VERY pleased. Place is small (like most dericious ramen spots), and first come first serve. I'd say not only was the ramen itself delicious, but being able to freshly press your own marinated garlic?! That was TOP NOTCH! It's unbelievable how much it BETTER it make the soup. -And I didn't think there was a chance could get better! If you're looking for a good ramen join, stop your review here and give this place a try. You won't regret it.

The one in Rowland Heights is one of my favorites so I expected this place to be a branch off of the tree .... all I received was mild disappointment. While I see the similarities in the flavor of the ramen, I'll list the differences below (note that I ordered the Tonkatsu Yukino-ya ramen with fried rice). 1. The broth wasn't as flavorful. The depth of the soup at the Rowland Heights location was much better. This one was a bit watery...as if the broth wasn't cooked long enough. 2. The noodles were a bit soggy. Never had that happen at the other location. Seems the quality control isn't up to par. 3. The fried rice sucked! The grass is NOT greener on the other side, however, it still one of the ONLY places to get decent ramen in arcadia.

One of the best ramen places in the SGV, all of their Ramen choices have extremely rich and deep flavors (I am a fan of the Tan-Tan), are priced reasonably and come with a lot of add-ins that you don't have to pay extra for. The only other place I think that can compare to their quality is Shinsengumi, but that is a different type of ramen altogether. Overall it is head and shoulders above many SGV ramen joints.

Parking: CVS Parking lot Such a small place but so good! It is delicious and flavorful. The broth was a bit oily but it was good. I got the Dan Dan noodles. It is a good twist to a Taiwanese classic. Give this place a try!

This is my favorite ramen place in the area! I always order the Tonkatsu ramen and the broth is truly delicious and flavorful. I've also tried the spicy miso ramen and it's also very good (which I substituted for wavy noodles.) The noodles are cooked perfectly and never soggy. This is not your usual MSG noodle broth. Their pork rice bowl is very good! I recommend this place for sure!

A relatively new Japanese-owned restaurant that offers a nice bowl of ramen for a satisfactory price. (+): All of the ramen noodle dishes come with the same ingredients, with the only variation being the type of broth you select. They range on a spectrum of lighter & more delicate flavors (e.g. soy sauce, shio) to ones that are darker and richer (e.g. tonkotsu). I tried the tonkotsu ramen, which was packed with intense pork flavor and was rich & buttery. After all, there's nothing better than collagen and porky goodness emulsified over hours & hours to create a silky smooth, creamy soup base :) - Great service: Waitress was very nice, explained the menu well, and was very prompt in filling drinks, clearing plates, etc. Much appreciated. (-): - The cha siu (pork belly) was decent - not meltingly tender like I've had at other ramen restaurants, but definitely nothing to complain about. You get 3 slices of pork, which sounds like very little for the protein component, but ended up being just the right amount. The ramen also comes with a marinated medium/soft-boiled egg , some sliced bamboo shoots, 1 sheet of nori (seaweed), and a very thin sliver of naruto(maki) (it's that swirly pigtail-looking fishcake/surimi). The naruto must be for plating/aesthetics, because it was cut so incredibly thin and was pretty much tasteless...acted more like an edible garnish. The bowl was also garnished with green onions. Suggestions: Overall, not a bad experience. The broth was amazing, but the rest of the dish was satisfactory for me. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving for ramen. For more flavor, use the garlic press that they provide to smash some of those marinated garlic cloves into your broth! If you like spicy flavors, add some of the chili paste/oil too. Plenty of parking in the plaza. CASH ONLY.

I think a lot of ramen places are really upping the quality of their food since they know they have to compare to hot spots like Daikokuya and Shin Sen Gumi. This is definitely a place I would go to if I was craving ramen and Shin Sen Gumi is too crowded. I always get the tonkotsu shio ramen. All the toppings are good except the benishoga (I usually just ask them to take it out). Love the gooey egg. I've tried the pork bowl too and it was just okay in my opinion. It's a hair pricier than I would like but the food is definitely solid.

FREAKIN' FINALLY. a legit ramen restaurant in Arcadia. I came by with my family and ordered the spicy miso ramen - I was surprised to find thicker cut noodles in my ramen; usually the noodles are always thin but I actually like thicker noodles, so yay! The broth was really good. My brother got the tonkotsu ramen and he loooved it. The restaurant is small, there's probably only about like six tables or so. And don't forget to bring cash - it's cash only! The reason for 4 stars inside of 5? It's kinda pricey for what they give you. My dad was complaining about the portions vs the price so he's probably not going to come back here. But overall, I'm a fan. I'll probably be back the next time I'm craving ramen, which is often. haha. I want to try more items on their menu! : )

I enjoyed the ramen here. Flavorful and a good portion for the large. You will feel like you're in Japan because the place is super small! The staff was friendly and took the time to explain to me what's in their broth. I didn't get a garlic press though so I thought I'd just eat the garlic whole : ( It's located in the same strip mall with CVS.

Tan Tan Mien (hot not cold) is basically Tonkatsu broth with spice. Add another side order of spice paste $.50 and you've got a spicy think broth. Its not like the Dan Dan mien you get at Chinese places although the name is familiar and might throw you off. I love my broth thick and spicy. This was a solid 4/5 stars with the additional order of spice paste!

This is my favorite ramen joint in SGV. It is owned and operated by authentic Japanese people. I love the cozy feel once you step into the restaurant, it feels like you're in Japan. I'm a regular here and I always order the tonkotsu ramen, which is a pork bone based broth. Gosh, their broth is so DELICOUS. The texture of the ramen noodles are perfect too. One of my favorite appetizers here is the chicken karage (fried chicken).. Ramen Yukinoya wins for best chicken karage. The chicken is perfectly fried, and is super juicy and tender and they always serve it HOT! You can add additional items to make it a "Combo" such as fried rice, inari roll, CA roll, or pork rice. I've tried all of them and they are good. This would be considered as a 'hidden gem' in the SGV.. however, I think it's getting more and more popular because sometimes I have to wait for a table :/ For those who haven't tried it yet, it's definitely worth waiting for!

I have been coming here regularly for a few months now. A friend suggested it and I have been addicted ever since. Tan Tan Mien. That's my order, with extra egg- because I love the way they cook the egg, firm on the outside gooey on the inside. Depending on the cook I have had the Tan Tan Mien super spicy or regular spicy, either way it's delicious. The broth is tasty, and the noodles are perfectly cooked. For 2 dollars extra you can order Pork Rice, California Roll, or Fried Rice. I suggest the Pork Rice, it's white rice with shredded pork piled on time, it's simple but SO yummy. The Tonkotsu is also very good if you want something not spicy. The Spicy Miso, is a huge favorite and very good but the Tan Tan Mien is still my favorite. The restaurant itself is small. I actually prefer sitting at the bar because you feel like you have a little more privacy. There's usually not a wait for a party of 2, if you have more you might need to wait a bit because they don't have large tables they actually just push tables together to accommodate those larger parties. I like the staff, especially the waitress with glasses and she usually wears her hair in a high bun. She is bomb dot com, next time I have to get her name. She's usually there nights and is so nice and attentive. I have had another waitress who wasn't so personable. She slammed down our bill before we were even half done and we had not asked for the bill. Also, I was surprised that people on Yelp say that this is Cash Only because it's NOT. I actually have only used card, and I used my card just last night.

I eat ramen at a decent clip. I actually didn't have huge expectations because this place is in Arcadia but it was a pretty pleasant surprise. Originally the plan was to go to Shin Sen Gumi in San Gabriel but as usually it was packed and didn't want to venture too far out of the good old 626 into LA. Here is my rant about the dumb line - seriously, I went on Tuesday late lunch. Don't people have work to go to? Seriously. Anyways so I ended up at Ramen Yikinoya which is next to the Korean BBQ joint that I always go too when I'm too lazy to venture out of my suburban hood. One mainly reason is because it's close and they give you all you can eat with tofu soup. Ok back to the ramen joint. I ordered the Spicy Miso and it was pretty solid. The broth was good. The Tonkotsu looked pretty good as well. They offer you the regular or the udon noodles which is interesting. Extra broth or noodles are available if you're extra hungry. Also they offer you a larger size with a couple more bucks and is pretty hefty so it's a good deal. Another highlight is they offer garlic that you can press and dump in your ramen. Super good since it's pretty fresh. It's not the best ramen but it's better than Ajisen in Temple City. Solid ramen at a decent price. It's a small place so it can probably get packed. Oh yes, CASH ONLY. So drop by the bank first so you don't look like a cheap ass douche.

    1. Spicy Miso--liked the Okinawa soba, not spicy enough and broth is passable. 2. Fried rice--okay to order again. 3. Shredded pork bowl--not to my liking but okay. Will not order again. Service--good and wait was okay.

Love this place, it's a hole in the wall next to CVS. The broth is flavorful and the noodles are a good texture. I like to get the Tonkutsu Ramen and it doesn't disappoint. Haven't tried anything else on the menu, but the next time I'm here I'll try some of the rolls. Also wanted to mention the waiters are attentive and fast.

Pretty legit ramen. Got the tonkotsu flavored ramen and it had a nice porky broth. They gave a decent amount of melt in your mouth pork and the ramen was nicely al dente. The jar of garlic that you crush with the garlic press was a unique touch that I've never seen before and it definitely helped add some kick to the broth. Definitely wasn't expecting much from this place, but I certainly liked it. Food came out pretty quickly.

Service was good. Short line (if any) Location is convenient from my mother's house. But the ramen quality/broth quality was ok. Price was reasonable. I would definitely come back here because it's convenient but if I had a little more time to spare, I would rather drive down to Lil Tokyo, San Gabriel, or Silverlake for better ramen. I do like how you could crush fresh garlic into your broth though.

It was good! It's not tonkotsu 24-hr broth, so don't go in expecting that. I got the shio, the broth was light and flavorful, the noodles cooked just right, three pieces of melty char siu, the egg was pretty good. Plus-- they have a jar of roasted and marinated whole garlic cloves on each table, along with a garlic press! I could have eaten even more garlic if I wasn't meeting a friend later that day. I'll be back for sure. So happy that there's now another very good ramen place in the general sgv area.

Not long after I wrote this review, Sarah, the manager, messaged me and thanked me for the review. She also noted that they now serve Shoyu Ramen with a vegetarian broth for non-meaters and that their cold noodles can be ordered sans meat. When I next visited with a co-worker, I asked the woman waiting on us if she was Sarah. She was. When I mentioned that she was kind enough to message me about my review, she responded, "Are you my vegetarian?!" Pay attention, business owners/managers. This is how you develop loyal customers who tell their friends (and Yelp readers).

Overall, it's a mediocre bowl of ramen that lacks style. It's passable and may satisfy one's craving, but in the end, I still desire a better bowl of Japanese ramen.

Good quality ramen is served here. I'm glad this restaurant is nearby (most good Asian restaurants are in the Rosemead, San Gabriel and Alhambra areas). The fiancé had spicy miso and I had the tonkotsu (suggestions made by a majority of yelpers). Spicy miso broth was full of flavor with just the right amount of spice and a leaning towards being on the sweet side. Tonkotsu was flavorful as well, the meat was tender and tasty. Add some pressed garlic to it, it makes a huge difference. Pros: Portion was just right, quality of food is good (noodles are better than the average ramen place), your ramen comes with toppings (some places just serve you the noodles with broth and make you pay extra for toppings), and service was good. Cons: Not necessarily a con-- just wish this place was a bit bigger :)

Yummmmmmmmmy! Had to wait 10mins on a Sunday close to 230pm. I had the spicy miso and i was stuffed. It could have been a little spicier but still delicious. Looking fwd to trying other dishes here! They close at 230pm so hopefully you get in and put your name before that. They reopen at 530pm. The parking is super easy. The workers there are friendly.

I really love this place. It's right in my hometown and the food is pretty amazing. Yuki (the owner) is a great guy from Okinawa, Japan. And he loves to make Okinawa-style dishes. So far, I've tried his Okinawa Chasu, Tender Pork Foot, and Okinawan Soba. Delicious. I've also had the tonkatsu, miso and shio ramen. I love to eat, don't judge me! I'm glad this ramen joint is around. And I hope it stays around for much longer!

This ramen establishment is a solid 4 stars. The ramen isn't a complete standout, yet it's not disappointing at all. Unlike other restaurants I didn't have to pay for toppings (bamboo shoot, bean sprouts, green onion, egg), and I also loved that I was able to add pressed garlic into my soup for extra flavor. The interior is clean and the server was great with getting our food to us, filling our waters, and being knowledgable with their food items. I gave them an extra star because I had left my phone at my table and had completely forgotten. One of the bus boys saw that and he chased me to my car (we were right about to reverse out of our spot) and made sure that I had received my phone. That is what I call EXCELLENT service- to go above and beyond to make the customer's life easier, even if it's AFTER the bill has been paid and tip has been left. I will DEFINITELY be back.

Good ramen, I like the soba noodles, first time I eat them with ramen, we were lucky, no waiting to get seats, but when we left there was a line forming. I try the spicy miso and the rice with pork side. I will come back to try the ground pork instead of the regular pork in the ramen, suppost to be the house specialty. Cheap price, good food portions . I will bring my coworkers here.

I've had both yukinoya locations and I must say I am a little more partial to the "original" rowland heights location versus this new one. I enjoy that this yukinoya has a bigger menu and more selection to choose from. I am a big fan of their new spicy miso flavor ramen and the thicker hand-cut noodles that they serve with it! I did try their okinawan chashu and the chicken karaage too. The chashu wasn't my favorite but I did like the flavor of the fried pieces of chicken. I do wish that they cut the pieces smaller though.. many of the pieces were far from bite-sized. Their original tonkotsu and their dan dan men tasted a little different to me however. This location seems to be going lighter in flavor.. I'm not sure why because I thought the level of richness at the original seemed perfect. I might stop by if I crave their spicy miso and I'm in the Arcadia area, but for the tonkotsu and the dan dan men, there is no need to travel far from home to get it.

Braised pork feet - Looks delicious but full of fat...left me desiring more. Spicy miso ramen - spicy but not to spicy Marinated garlic - The garlic press is awful. I barely got any garlic out of it. I gave up after 5. Miso Ramen - Not bad but the cha siu is very fatty. Overall, the prices were reasonable. My only issue is the soup base is very very oily and salty. I wouldn't mind coming back for a quick bite because of the price.

Wow. Spicy Miso Ramen (upgrade to larger bowl size for only $1 more), AND be sure to make it a Combo with the side of their Pork rice (or any other sides ranging from about $1.50 to $2.50 extra)! Total tab including tax came out to only $12.50! AND best of all---- its big enough for 2 moderately hungry people to share! It is so freaking good. Both hubby and I were pretty full. The bowl of ramen was huge with lots of noodles and broth. I really LOVED pressing the garlic cloves (their condiment offered on the table) into my broth. I crushed a lot of garlic in my soup. Even though the soup was already perfectly tasty, the garlic was a very yummy addition to the soup. The pork rice was a good portion for only $2 and pretty delish too!! I told hubby that I think I like this better than Shin Shen Gumi (which is pretty hard to beat already)!. Yum, cant wait till its colder weather and I'll be here all the time. Service was great, and the waitress or owner was very attentive. Tip: The place is pretty small so come early!

This place is legit and the service is excellent. I get the tonkotsu ramen (regular size) every time which is more than enough to fill my fat-boy belly. The DIY crushed garlic is a nice touch. Come early or be prepared to wait cuz it's tiny here!

Cash only. Plenty of parking in the CVS shopping center. Tiny place, with an L-shape seating arrangement. Boiling Point had a very long wait for lunch, so we decided to check out Ramen Yukinoya since I bookmarked it a while back. Miso Ramen - soup is okay too salty, noodles are good, cha siu is extremely fatty. Ten Tan - my lunch date enjoyed it and wants to get it again. Service here was a bit slow due to the lunch rush. You may be staring at your empty water cup for awhile.

The ramen here is good, and the pork isn't too dry (common complaint of mine). The restaurant is small, so there can be a wait. As Jackson Y mentions, the tables are sticky and gross. I would still return for the Tonkotsu ramen. Large size, $9.50, is quite filling.

Yummy yummy in my tummy! Certainly satisfies my ramen kick without me having to drive downtown. Flavorful spicy miso broth and I love that the noodles are perfectly al dente every time. Make sure you try the garlic on the table.. it really adds an extra level of flavor. CASH ONLY.

I think this is the best ramen place in Arcadia. I wish they asked you if you wanted thin or thick noodles, amount of oil in the broth, amount of flavor in the broth, and the hardness of the noodles though. If they did that, I would probably have given them a 5 star rating.

Great place to get a bowl of deliciousness and bury your face in it. Space is tight but you get a great view of the kitchen and everybody's happy. Yet another great little hole-in-the-wall restaurant that I never would have tried were it not recommended by a friend. Tucked away in a strip mall with a huge CVS and a few other interesting looking places to eat, this little noodle joint is perfect for the coming winter weather, such as it is here in SoCal. We have twice tried the spicey miso soup with its delectable pork. It is served piping hot and, as far as I'm concerned, needs no additional flavoring, although there is marinated garlic, chili paste, soy and vinegar on the table. The broth is a wonderful, red, perfectly spiced ambrosia of warmth and comfort. The noodles are flat and narrow with a tender bite. This stuff is just so easy to eat. I'm getting hungry writing this! Adding the shredded pork over rice won't hurt either, just make sure you get the small soup cuz the portions are generous without being supersized. The service is fine, nothing to complain about there. It is small and they do get busy, but you'll never have to wait too long for anything. Price wise, this is a great bargain. About $25 for two full, happy bellies. I will certainly be back here at least once in the remaining weeks of 2013.

Finally a legit ramen spot in Arcadia! With all the amazing Asian food this was the one thing they were lacking. I have gotten the tonkotsu ramen the past few times i've been here and have totally enjoyed it each time to not want to change my order, as i've seen people get other things and they have no complaints as well. The only things is that i would say their selection is on the smaller side so don't come expecting the world of choices. it's just your basics but defintely enough to satisfy your ramen needs =) Even my Japanese friends say it's good!

My friend and I were excited to try out a new ramen place in Arcadia, since there aren't many good options for ramen in the area. We had the tonkotsu (pork bone broth). The presentation was nice. Nori on the side of the bowl, with boiled egg, bamboo shoots and kamaboko on the inside. The meat was a little bit of lacking though... Three pieces only?! The soup was flavorful, but not as rich as say, Shin Sen Geumi's or Daikokuya's. Service was quick and efficient. The food took a while to come out, but I kept myself busy by crushing garlic cloves. Perhaps it's because they've just opened, but I found the ramen to be a little bit lacking... A bit too expensive for medium-sized portions with barely any meat and an okay broth. It's a decent place to go to when you don't feel like driving down to J-Town, I guess.

The food is good, but better go around weekday night, weekend will be too busy to service plus the service is slow, otherwise I will give 4 star!!

Tried 3 ramens on my first visit here - Salt, Spicy Miso, and Tonkotsu. Of the three, Tonkatsu was without a doubt my favorite. In fact, I'd probably only order the Tonkotsu again. Nothing particularly negative to say about the other two... but as a ramen enthusiast, Santouka Ramen (in Costa Mesa/Irvine) definitely has the best Spicy Miso and Salt Ramen in my opinion. Note: The noodles for the Spicy miso here are thicker than the noodles for their other ramens (looks more like egg noodles); however, the server informs you prior to ordering, which is nice if this makes a difference in your decision. Would I come back? Yes, for the Tonkotsu and because it is conveniently located near me. Yukinoya is a suitable alternative to Daikokuya and Shin Sen Gumi in terms of taste, quality and price.

I tried Tonkotsu ramen it was great! The noodle was perfectly cooked! Soup wasnt salty. I also ordered extra chasu, it wasnt worth it. Just 3 extra piece came out. Other ramen placees has thicker chasu cut for cheaper price.

First time I came here. I had large spicy miso and I put the "garlic" they marinated in. The broth was tasty saltiness was just right and noodle texture was the way I wanted it. My friend tried to order the pig feet from the menu for the second time without success and wondered they just simply don't make them.

Had the miso ramen, friends had the spicy miso and tonkotsu. Everything was good, no complaints at all, I'm happy that each ramen comes with all the toppings you want already in it. Don't like that it was so hot in there today hahha. 100 degrees outside isn't exactly ramen weather, but if the A/C were on, it would make it a little more pleasant to eat. Overall, satisfied with this place, but nothing special. Don't think I'd crave it, but I would come back.

Best ramen in the town. omg, the soup is very good and they gave us at least 3 pieces of pork. not like the other one across the street and only gave us one piece of pork. also, i love the garlic on the table and they are fresh. it added a lot of favor to my bone-based soup! my friend like the cold noodle and we have to come here every week! i have recommended all my friends to come here for the best ramen!

I was honestly expecting a lot more. There's so much competition when it comes to Ramen that it's hard to be just average. The spicy miso ramen was very thin and flavorless. The gyoza were good, though. I like the garlic press at the table and the waitress was friendly and polite. I think I will give them another shot, but so far they haven't even come close to measuring up to Shin Sen Gumi or Daikokuya. Cash only is another negative and it's very small. Maybe only 5-6 tables?

Ok, so I saw this place when a friend and I went to Moffetts and had chicken out pies. We both said we for sure had to give it a try! Had the tonkatsu ramen.....OMG! The flavor we deep and rich. The regular size was plenty, can't imagine the amount if noodles the large size held. The soy infused garlic is a must in the ramen. Just adds to the broths goodness. My friend had the Tom Tom Yen. Also another excellent choice. Full flavored rich broth. For sure gunna come back soon.

Sad to say it, but I think the Yelp community let me down on this one. Let me preface my review by saying that I LOVE ramen and probably have it once a week if not every other week either in Little Tokyo or Pasadena's Noodle World. I may not be a ramen "aficionado," but I know how to identify tasty broth, great noodles, and quality meat. Ramen Yukinoya is located in a little strip mall next to CVS and a Baskin Robbins. It's a tiny place that doesn't have a ton of charm, but that's not really what you go for, right? They have a tiny menu--about 4 hot ramen dishes--from which we ordered the spicy miso ramen per the many recommendations via Yelp. Our meals arrive, and I can't wait to dig in to the aromatic broth, and thick noodles (their twist on this dish). At first, the broth is spicy and flavorful, so I chow down on the boiled egg and tender pieces of pork, even though the soggy bean sprouts are kind of congealed together and look way past their prime. When my friend and I hit the half-way mark, we both stop. "Is it me, or does the broth taste different?" "Yeah.." and we both put our spoons down. Let me repeat: we cannot even finish ramen that cost nearly $9 a bowl. How does broth even change flavor? Whatever the reason, it was gross, so we stopped eating, paid our bill (cash only, FYI), and went to Baskin Robbins to cleanse our palettes.

I love going to LA for some good ramen, but when I can't get all the way down there this place hits the spot. It's so good! Only down side: CASH ONLY. Who carries cash anymore? ha! I always order spicy miso and ask for traditional egg noodles and also a side of pork rice. Its amazing!

I like their ramen because it's firm and stays "al dente" immersed in soup even after you reheat it the next day. I also like the broth, the egg, and the tonkatsu (pork slices), all very tasty. I wish they'd add more veggies to their ramen, and would take out the bamboo shoots (which I don't think belong in a Japanese style ramen bowl), but hey, this is just personal preference.

Yummy ramen! A bit pricy but it's close to home and definitely worth the trip over since shinsengumi is so far away #word

Within a 0.3 mile radius from where I live, there is like three ramen places. Daikokuya, Ramen Yushoken, and Ramen Yukinoya. Daikokuya is right across the street inside the food court by 99 Ranch, which is great for a fast and cheap meal. Ramen Yushoken sucks. And then there's Ramen Yukinoya, which I would say is the best in the area. I have only been here twice and have tried the tonkotsu and the spicy miso. I love both. The tonkotsu broth is really rich, flavorful, and hearty. It doesn't taste artificial and oily like some other places. The spicy miso is pretty spicy and very flavorful as well. After awhile, it does get pretty overwhelmingly spicy for me though...but I still truck through it. :) I love how you can crush your own garlic in your ramen. The actual act of crushing the garlic is actually pretty hard...or maybe I'm just weak. All-in-all...I would come back and I would definitely recommend this place.

I see this place every time I go to the gym, and thought why not try it out. I came here for lunch with an old friend, and there were people waiting. I thought that was a good sign already. Lucky for us we were seated right away. The set up is kind of weird, we were seated against the windows, and the tables were built into the wall. The tables were the size of elementary school tables. Yep, it was small. Well I can say this, the Ramen definitely made up for the odd tables. The noodles were delicious and I can't wait to come back again. Enjoy!
