We love Indian food, so even it's quite far for us, we came in with a Living Social Deal. The restaurant is with lovely decor (this place used to be a very good Vietnamese restaurant, I wonder how they fail). The service is nice and fast (Mexican waiters), and the food is pretty good We ordered : Mango Lassi : good Lamb Samosa: taste fresh and superb Whole chicken Tandoori: average ( I think it could be better of it's a little bit saltier) Chicken Tikka Masala : Good. Over all, if we have a chance to be around some where in Anaheim, we will definitely go back to have a nice dinner here again. But we don't think we will go out of our way just to come here Good Luck ! Hope the restaurant will last longer than the Vietnamese one !

I'm no indian food expert but this place is pretty good. I come here for the lunch buffet occassionally and I always end up eating 3 too many plates. I have no clue what I'm eating cuz everything has curry or some sauce all over it, but they all taste good. The decor is nice and staff is nice. And for $9, what a deal! And yes, the free naan is yummy!

Not knowing what to eat we decided on Indian buffet to make it easy... Since we vowed to never go back to Shenai, we were kind of limited on options.. but the husband remembered this place on the way to Disneyland. Upon arrival we smelled the spices and walked in... When we went to get the food, most of stuff had run out and they had not refilled it yet... there were just 2 pieces of pakoras, 2 scoops of rice, chicken tikka masala that had no meat left. chicken vindaloo that had 3 pieces of meat left... After we got "what was left" and sat down, they slowly refilled the empty chaffing dishes.. The chicken vindaloo was really good, so hence the higher rating than I would have originally gave them.. however the rest were just so so... Oh and if the big indian guy is your server/helper be prepared to have stuff just "tossed" to your table. He doesn't act like he wants to be there too much.

We went for the lunch buffet to day and really enjoyed it. They have a great choice of foods, both Chicken and Vegetarian. Unfortunately I think they had a bigger rush than they expected and ran out of several dishes, plates, and utensil's. We had to wait for several dishes. My favorite was the Saag (Curry Spinach) and a Eggplant Curry with Peas. Very taste-y. They bring fresh Naan to the table, including Garlic Nana. My 5 year old loved the Mango Ice Cream.

I used to live in Artesia near the "Little India Village" where I had an endless choice of Indian food restaurants. I've tried Chicken Tikka Masala at more than 20 places and this came real close to my favorite place. My friend and I are crazy fanatics of Chicken Tikka Masala so we decided to Yelp a place near me (Anaheim,CA) and came across Tandoori Garden. I've tried at least 4 places around my area and always finished my food regretful and unsatisfied. We ordered one CTM for $10.95 and Garlic Naan for $2.95 and some regular naan for $1.95. I love CTM sauce so ordered an extra side order for $4.95. At first I thought to myself, this place is kind of pricy until the food actually arrived in my apartment(delivery) and as soon as I looked at the color of my food, I knew it was going to be great. As soon as I take that first bite of CTM with naan, I had a burst of spicy flavors in my mouth with just the right amount of yogurt. The naan was very soft and fluffy and fully loaded with the perfect amount of butter and garlic. I am the happiest girl right now because i've finally found the place to go to, to satisfy my crazy frequent cravings of Chicken Tikka Masala. Thank you Tandoori Garden for your excellent service and most important of all OUTSTANDING FOOD!! Fast & free delivery service. Great customer service. Nice and friendly staff. One of the best three Indian food restaurants i've ever been to. (I've been to over 25.) Flavors aren't overwhelming and not "too much", just the right amount of every ingredient. Once again, thank you for your excellence in food & customer service. You guys are the best and I will make sure to refer all my friends! By the way I heard they have weekday lunch buffets for $8.95 and weekend brunch buffet too. I need to try that out! =) I am full, satisfied and more than anything happy with every penny I spent.

Went to this place on recommendation of a friend. My date and I both regretted it. The menu is very typical of many Indian restaurants. Not much from what's printed to differentiate it. But the food does a good enough job of that on its own. I ordered a mango lassi along with chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. I couldn't taste garlic in the naan because it was burnt to a crisp and was paper thin. I don't remember what my date ordered, but she said it was much spicier than what the menu indicated. The mango lassi I ordered was room-temperature and chalky tasting. If there was any mango in it, I couldn't tell. Then there was the chicken tikka masala. It's supposed to be mild with a rich sauce, as indicated by a wide variety of Indian restaurants that I tried. What I got was beyond spicy. My date suggested I get some yogurt to temper it a bit. It took about a 3-1 mixture of yogurt to tikka masala just to make it tolerable, and even then I only ate it because I was starving. There is an Indian food restaurant within an easy walking distance from Tandoori Garden. I've never tried it, but I can't fathom it being any worse than Tandoori garden. I will never go back to Tandoori Garden.

Went last night for dinner. Excellent Indian food and we have been to many countries to know what is good and what is not including spending 30 years in the UK. I had the Lamb Vindaloo with extra spice that was very tasty and hot - that's what I asked and got, sometimes the chefs tone down stuff thinking you don't want it really hot. It was very good. The wife had the Chicken Tikka Masala spiced but not extra spiced - again very good and on-par with some of the best we've had. Rice pilau was moist and yummy. Although not on the menu we asked for Lamb Samosas as an appetizer and the chef obliged and the were excellent. Garlic Naan to accompany and we had a perfect Indian Dinner at a very reasonable price. Would return in a heartbeat if we are in the area again.

My office is close by and they deliver to us pretty often. There's always someone skeptical who'd rather not order Indian and they always end up loving it. So delicious!!!

i am not an expert on Indian food. I have only had it a few times. All my experiences have been positive including this one. Came in during the week for their lunch buffet. The food was good. Some of my favorites from the buffet were the chicken tandoori and the chicken tikka as well as the lentils. This place was also easy on the wallet. My buddy and I ate here for a total of $20 dollars.

I've had two deliveries from this restaurant and so far the food has been very well prepared and packed. I think the portions are very filling - a bit much if someone has a small appetite, but for myself it is great. The only thing I thought was in need of some improvement was the wait time for the delivery service (45 mins) and also the price. Other than that, I definitely recommend this place if you're in need of some filling Indian food.

stellar service!!! I felt like a princess being greeted & seated with a glass of cold water, when I all I had done was ordered over the phone for pick up. They even held the door open for me when I left. I wonder what its like if I stay and order??? Do I get hoisted on silk futon with personal attendants with fans and sweets? ooh lala Any way, unfortunately the food I cannot say the same.... The garlic naan's saving grace was the texture of the bread. The amount of garlic & cilantro was a little sad. I've had this before, where it is slathered in the stuff (but not an overwhelming slather, mind you). There was no buttery goodness to speak of. It didn't taste like the butter had been absorbed by the bread either. The chicken biriyani was "okay". The chicken was tender, and that was the only good thing. The flavor was just okay. I didnt realize it came with bell peppers. But it didn't come with the sultanas and cashews that the menu description promised. I searched all over that rice and didnt see a one! Finally, the saag paneer (palak paneer as I usu know it) was the most underwhelming. I cant tell if my tastes for Indian food have changed or if it really was just okay. I think the cheese is homemade, but it was kind of "firmer" than Im used to, I'm used to the soft, melt in your mouth cheese, maybe it is a different style of Indian cooking. The overall flavor was just okay. Besides that I think the entire dish came with only 5 pieces of cheese, a really imbalanced cheese to spinach ratio in my opinion. The green condiment they served with the dishes saved them in regards to flavor. I practically polished off the entire container on one serving of food. The mango lassi is def made with in house yogurt, but it was more soupy than Im used to. Im used to a THICK mangoey lassi. This was just milky-yogurty. (Hubby liked it though) I do have to admit though, they asked me how spicy i wanted the food, and fearing heartburn I mistakenly went for "mild" completely forgetting about "medium", which comes before "hot. this mix up might explain the overall lack of flavor. My guess is mild = bland... at least for my tastes. They should re-label their spicy-levels," bland" "tasty" "tasty n hot" and "hell's fire". That would be much more informative than mild medium and hot...

This place is awesome. I love Indian food and it has been great here every time. You don't need a flashy place to have great food. The cooks are Indian as well. Lunch buffet is worth it to stuff your face for $10 ! Check out the 15% offer here and check it out. Not very busy but I ate here twice this weekend. I recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala or Chicken Makhani they blow my mind.

Again, a Sunday lunch buffet review. Decided to branch out from Shehnai. I would give four stars if they had more variety, because the food here was very tasty and unique from other restaurants. Options at the buffet included: Samosa, pakora, basmati rice, dal, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, a chicken curry, aloo gobi, saag, maybe one or two others. Also my favorite all time shreddy lettuce-cukey-tomatoey salad perfect for dousing in raita and dipping (might be a sin of Indian food eating, but hey, aren't forks, too? I do what I want.) Naan, plain or garlic, comes at the table, as usual. Desserts were standard gulab jamun, kheer (which had run out), melted mango ice cream (which is still great in melted form). Non-standard dessert was carrot pudding. More on that later. Standouts among the standard: **Samosas were highly above average **Tandoori chicken was excellent, so mild and non-orange (my bf made fun of me for getting more of it, but he often makes fun of how much I eat). **Garlic naan was above average. **Saag was paneer-less much to BF's dismay, but it was less creamed and salty than many versions offered at other restaurants, which made it unique and delish IMHO and worthy of seconds. **Carrot pudding (is it pudding? carrot dessert!) was incredible. A must try. Downsides: I didn't really see any besides a slight lack of variety at the buffet (including no lamb). BF was disappointed in no palak paneer and no chicken korma (although I've never seen this at a buffet). Service was quick and friendly as with most Indian buffets. Don't remember any sticker shock, so price must have been fair. I would go back if I was in the area. You should go too.

I have only been here for the Sunday brunch. For about $11 it is not bad at all. The service is great and our drinks were never empty. The food is fresh and hits the spot when I crave Indian food out in Anaheim. I love the saag paneer, the pakora/pakoda, the mango ice cream, and gulab jamun. The chicken tikka masala tasted different from the other times I've eaten here. It seemed a little cheesier and spicer, which wasn't necessarily bad, but it had an interesting nacho cheese aspect to it. They had this newer okra dish that we couldn't get enough of. I love the sweet chutney they offer as it complements the savory dishes. Oddly enough, I stick to the vegetarian meals here.

I've been here twice. My bro loves the lunch buffet but I need a spicier meal. I ordered the chicken tikka masala spicy hot and it was very good. I also had the saag paneer and it was good. I love the tip from Michael C about not ordering the naan. I'm gonna try it next time. Thanks for that great tip!! Service is lacking here but you can still get a good meal. I also agree that it has a romantic setting.. my second meal was on Valentines night.

There aren't too many truly good restaurants in Anaheim so Tandoori Garden (TG) is a welcomed new addition. I lived in Boston for 2+ years and have had lots of indian cuisine and TG is on par. The food is fresh, the taste is right on. Just a note, by default, the food is prepared mild. If you like spicy or saltier, you'll have to ask for it. Chicken Tandoori: overall good but a tad bit dry and a bit bland so you'll have to add a bit of salt. But for the health conscious, it's right on. Chicken Tikka Masala: very good. Chicken Korma: good, could be a bit sweeter and creamier for my tastes. Onion Naan: excellent Garlic Naan: good but could use more garlic and a bit of salt. Basmati Rice: good, what rice should be. Pea Pilauf: very good, excellent with any curry. Masala Chai: good but should be spicier. Chicken Makhani: very good. Chicken Pakoras: excellent Malai Kofta: excellent The ambience is very nice. Traditional Indian motif, it's very clean and spacious with dining available outside. There is ample parking. The servers are friendly, responsive and prompt. Open 7 days a week, Lunch Buffet on weekdays from 11am-3pm for $7.95, and weekends for $10.95, what a deal! Overall, a very good dining experience. I plan to go there once a week.

Bleh...food was ok. Maybe it just wasn't right for my Americanized palate. I do love Indian food, just not theirs. The nan was fresh out of the oven, so that was a plus. Service was good...decor is alright. They were showing cricket on the tv which was fun to watch.

I have been eating out alot with my wife and have been trying out all the places walking distance from our home. And luckily, we have been making the right choice so far. This place has good service and great food. But what I like more than anything is their garlic naan...It is to die for. They also have a buffet lunch for $7.95 m-th and $10.95 fri-sun which is a great deal.

This is a great little gem I found that does Indian. Fans of Indian food living in Orange County may remember Taal, which is no longer open. I have been searching for a replacement for quite some time. Tandoori Garden features a small and cozy seating area. The staff is polite and the service was efficient. I had the Chicken Tikka and the Shrimp Masala with the vegetable rice. We also shared a few Samosas. I enjoyed the food very much. The only drawback is that the spiciness level isn't consistent every time. To me, this didn't matter, as I am a fan of spicy foods. But for some, ordering mild and getting hot may not be ok.

    (3)
  • Leigh A.

Had the Chicken Tikka...was good but can't say excellent just because I can't handle spicy, so make sure you order rice or naan with it. You do have to pay extra to get rice or naan, unless you have a combo plate (and there weren't a lot of options here....) Overall good, but I have to say Indian food is never a craving of mine.

Service - 5 stars Samosas - 5 stars Garlic Naan - 5 stars Aloo Ghobi - 2.5 stars Daal - 2.5 stars Chana Masala - 3.5 stars To start out, one of our glasses was dirty. The waiter switched it out immediately. We were promptly served with pakoras. They weren't quite as crispy as they should be. Stale? The samosas were really tasty and served hot. Two for just $3.95. The sweet brown tamarind sauce was good, as was the green cilantro sauce. My husband and I are vegetarians, and ordered the aloo ghobi, chana masala and daal with a half order of basmati rice and garlic naan. All of the food arrived pretty quickly. We ordered "mild" since I don't like spicy food. Unfortunately in this case, mild equaled bland. So I don't know if it was a mistake to order mild. The potatoes in the aloo ghobi ($8.95) were tasty. The cauliflower was bland. The daal ($6.95) was pretty bland so I ended up adding salt and cilantro sauce to mine. The chana masala ($8.95) was the tomato sauce type. I prefer the brown sauce type. But for the tomato type, it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the garlic naan ($2.95). It wasn't too fluffy or thick. It was thin and really good. Our whole meal came out to around $38 incl. tax, which wasn't bad since we took half of it home for left-overs. We had prompt service throughout our dinner. We had 3 different waiters check on us to make sure we didn't need anything. All in all, not bad. Not the best I've had either though.

came here for the lunch buffet and everything was delish! Lots of variety, fresh (they don't just cook a big pan full and let is sit there... ) and good service. Fellow yelpers, you were right... the homemade mango ice cream for dessert was the bomb! i will definitely be back.

Food is just OK. Nickel and dime you and extras like rice and naan. Service is painfully slow. I had to wave them down for everything, ordering, drinks, check. Won't be returning.

Extremely bad service...you have to wait for more than 1 hour if you order for Togo...they say that they process orders in FIFO order but screw them....food is also not that great...don't know what people likes in their food...seems like most of the reviews are given by non-Indians...but frankly speaking I really don't like their food...it was like 4/10...

Found this place on yelp so decided to go try it - Loved the food!! Ended up hosting a surprise birthday party here last Sat - Sid (owner) is super easy to work with - we worked out a fabulous menu, they shut down the place for us and Everyone who came (were atleast 75 guests) really enjoyed the food. I went in during the day to set up/table decorations drop of some stuff for the evening and know they were cooking the food fresh, even with the buffet style with that many people the naans were fresh and good! Highly recomend this place :)

I had been to this restaurant with my colleagues from work a couple of times in the past, and had their lunch buffet, which is quite acceptable. A couple of weeks ago I received a deal from "dealgrind.com" for this restaurant, so I decided to go there for lunch with my family (it was their first time). The dealgrind coupon was not valid for the buffet, so we ordered a-la-carte. I had informed our waiter about the coupon before ordering. The quality of the food was unacceptably below average and the service was poor (making me wonder if it was because they knew I had a coupon for $20 off). Finally when the bill came I noticed that I had been charged almost 10% sales tax, when the sales tax rate in Orange County is 7.75%. So I brought that to the attention of the waiter, who called the manager. The manager just made an excuse that the waiter estimated incorrectly because he does not use a calculator (wrong), and then he told me a number which was still higher. When I said that that was still not 7.75%, he said that the sales tax rate in Orange County was 8.75% (also wrong). I did not want to argue with him. He instructed the waiter to take $1 off the "estimated" sales tax figure on the bill, which brought the number closer to the actual number, and we left it at that. The manager did not even apologize! This left me wondering if this business is doing this often with other customers, who may not notice and pay the bill. Both my wife and I decided that this was the last time we visited this place.

I usually keep an open mind when it comes to trying out new food from different cultures. My boyfriend and I found out about Tandoori Garden through Groupon so we went here for dinner. Since this was both our 2nd time at a new Indian restaurant, we agreed that this restaurant serves decent Indian food. We had previously went to a different Indian restaurant and have concluded that Asoka the Great in Cerritos was more appetizing. For our appetizer at Tandoori Garden, we both started off with assorted hors d'oeuvres. Moving on to our main entrees, my bf had the lamb tikka masala while I had the shrimp korma. Both entrees were served with rice and their traditional naan bread. The best part about the whole meal were the mango lassi drinks. Mmm...2 thumbs up! We sure do love that drink! Overall rating for this place is a 3. The food was decent but not great since it didn't live up to our expectations. However, the customer service there is good and the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. I like how there were candles lit at every table. It gave off a romantic and exotic vibe.

This was the best North Indian food I've had in a long time! The malai kofta was the best I've ever had! We ordered Saag Paneer, dal, baingan bharta and they were all tasty! Ambience is so so so the four stars are basically for the food.

  • Jen N.

This place was awesome!!! I really enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant. Friendly service and the food was decent. I personally prefer the food to be less spicy, but it was tolerable for me. I LOVED the mango ice cream they had. I like that they service unlimited naan. I only gave 1 star because I think their price was a little pricey...but I would definitely return in the future!

Just a few caveat for those that purchased the Groupon. The Groupon states UPTO $31.80 for TWO ENTREES and TWO regular NAAN. If you order three entrees, for example, they will charge you for the 3rd entrees even though it adds to less than $31.80. I ordered 2 entrees, 2 garlic naan, and 2 rice plates. The restaurant charged me for the 2 garlic naan (because it was NOT REGULAR nann) and 2 rice plates. You need to READ the FINE print which I did not. Food was good - the chicken masala was a 5 star and the curry lamb was a 3 star. The curry lamb was not as rich as compared to the chicken masala. I would have given this restaurant a 4 star but the Groupon advertisement is misleading.

I first searched for restaurants that deliver in Fullerton...when the only one in deliver.com was Tandoori Garden from Anaheim. It was like a dream...I thought all I'd find was pizza and chinese, when low and behold my favorite food of all is delivered to my home's door, the wonderful food of the gods, INDIAN food! My budget restrained my orders, so I stuck to my favorites: Chicken Makhani, Saag Paneer, Nav Rattan Korma, Naan, Papadum and chutneys, and Tandoori chicken for the kids. It's so hard to take the family to an Indian restaurant, so delivery was really a fantastic solution. I made my own rice and something for the baby, and the rest of us waited near the door. Our meal seemed homemade and savory. The kids each chose their favorite curry, my oldest preferred the Makhani, my 6 year old liked the Korma, my youngest (2 yo) the Paneer and the Papadums. Although it wasn't the cheapest meal, nor the most amazing Indian food, it was very good. And, because they deliver, I will definitely order again! But I admit, I'm not sure what the etiquette is about tipping a delivery server. Deliver.com charged $3 already, and when I handed her my $2 tip she looked disappointed. She was polite and didn't complain but I think perhaps I will have to budget more tip in the plan next time.

Just tried this place out cause it was nearby. Your standard Indian buffet fare at lunch time. The kicker was the delicious homemade mango ice cream they have. Delicious. I would go back their for the ice cream alone. The decor from the outside looks a bit dated, but the inside is nice and clean. The food was a bit spicier than some of the other Indian places I've been to, which is a good thing. Still not spicy enough for my taste though. All in all not a bad place. About $13 for lunch buffet, after bill and tip.

I have been there for the lunch buffet twice now and if you show up at the end of it the chicken might be dry and other dishes will be a little old. Other than that if you show up early for it or in the middle you won't be disappointed.

I always drive by the place and never bothered to go in because I was in love with a restaurant on Pioneer. Decided to finally go as a spur of the moment type of thing and had a pretty nice time. The inside is inviting and they don't give you creepy looks like people do sometimes. The food was really good but not the best I've had. I ate the veggie samosas, rice, and veggie korma. They had chicken curry and tandoori chicken but I'm picky with those. They brought out garlic naan, which was good, but I would've rather had plain naan. A little bit fluffier and it would've been perfect.

Great experience! Excellent service, superb food, and a great atmosphere to boot. I had the Chicken Masala (Great!) and my wife had the Malai Kofta (Delicious!). We also shared an order of Garlic Nan, which was enjoyed quite a lot too. (As usual, there's just not enough of it, because it's so good). We were surprised that the place was so reasonably priced too. We were able to enjoy a full meal (with sides and drinks) and we didn't break the bank doing it. Definitely going again.

I've finally found a good Indian restaurant in north OC! I've had really awful experiences at other local Indian restaurants, so I was hesitant to try this new place. Luckily they delivered yummy food with excellent service. I had the chicken tikka masala, raita, and naan. The chicken was tender, the sauce delicious, and the naan hot and frresh. My friend said his dish could have had more kick to it, but they ask how spicy you'd like it, so the next time he'll know to say hot instead of medium. I loved the traditional decor and the Bollywood movies playing on the TVs. The service was OUTSTANDING! My water glass was never lower that half full (or empty?) and the waiters seemed genuinely interested in how our experience was. Lastly, sometimes my body doesn't always agree with my eating Indian food...you know what I mean? After dinner I felt fine! Great, even! Not too full or lethargic, and definitely not....um...yuck. haha I'm looking forward to my next dinner here. I'd like to try the buffet too, after reading everyone's reviews!

I have recently discovered this place through my boyfriends sister and to be honest, i was very skeptical at first. Skeptical because i have never tried indian food and I wasn't certain if i was going to like it or not. But i ended up being a good sport and decided to give it a try and explore my cultural taste buds. We came here for the lunch buffet and was seated to receive our drinks and our complimentary garlic naan, which was served fresh, warm, and super delicious! Not only was the naan amazing, but the food was great and so was the service. They had various choices of curry and the chicken was very tender and flavorful. And what was even greater was the price that was affordable and cheap! However, the dessert section didn't really fill my interest. The mango ice cream didn't seem to taste like mango, and the rest of the dessert was too sweet for my taste. But at the end, that is not what matters, but it is the main food that matters, so i can say i was satisfied. Overall, i would definitely recommend this place and would come again to get my Indian fix.

WOW! Thank you Groupon for this catch. This place is amazing. Definitely a new regular stop. I haven't had indian in a little over a year since moving out to Cali and what a great way to be reacquainted. Nom Nom mom.

I can't believe I havn't reviewed this place yet. It's easily the best indian restaurant in Orange County. I used to live 5 minutes away but moved a month after they opened. It's still worth the drive even if your not close. I've had to go entrees several times and it's always been delicious. Great tikka masala, naan, saag, samosas, and other stuff. They also have the best indian buffet in Orange County. Trust me, I've tried all of them. In fact, I prefer it over The India Restaurant on Pioneer. They actually add a little spice to their buffet dishes unlike every other place. I'm just afraid this little gem won't last long because it's never busy. Try it and you'll be hooked. Also worth mentioning is the great location with a clean, roomy dining room and plenty of parking.

Although not the most appealing of restaurants on the outside (e.g., mis-strung lights, a "buffet" plastic sign), this restaurant's food is exceptional. Every piece of chicken in the three, chicken-based entrees I ordered were like filets--absolutely no gristle or...questionable pieces. True, that should go without saying, but it's so common these days to discover that the chef has cut corners (no pun) when dicing the chicken. The chicken Tikka Masala was exquisite--as was the mushroom chicken and chicken curry. All of them served in copper pots and each having distinct, complex aromas and flavors. All were delicious. The Naan, of which they have a large selection, I could have eaten all night. The service was very good--very fast and attentive, yet discreet. It was a very pleasant and satisfying evening!

Food was one of the better if not best indian food i have had in orange county. Food was flavorful and not too salty. Service was nice. More people should go to this place.

It was yummy food. I went for the lunch buffet. There was a decent selection of both vegetarian and non vegetarian foods. The service was EXTREMELY prompt and polite. We were there for nearly four hours gabbing away and not once did we feel rushed. I would definitely go back. I wanted to put 4.5 stars but it wouldn't let me. :)

This is the 5th time I have had Tandoori Garden and is also the 5th time I have asked myself why.. I truly wanted to like this place, really I did, just the fact that I spared this review the last 4 times, and that I've continued to return, says it all. I have eaten in,ordered out ,and come for the buffet all were lackluster and actually not that great. I just finished eating an order of takeout of Chicken Biryani, Daal, & Chicken Tikka Masala and I did not taste a single spice. My Miller Lite beer I had with dinner actually had more flavor. The whole heaping order of two pieces of "Garlic" Naan arrived at my door soggy and flavorless (it apparently couldn't last the .3 mile commute). We were looking for a spicy kick to warm up our cool autumn evening, but instead went out with a whimper. Sorry, I really, really wanted to like this place. It's close and convenient.

I just went here this past weekend for the lunch buffet. The food was delicious, service was good and the price was reasonable. Being that I am no authority on Indian food, I couldn't tell you if it was the absolute best Indian food in the area but shoot, it was pretty damn good on my taste buds.

This place has a really great lunch buffet especially for the money. The garlic naan is delicious. The owners are very nice and do try to accomodate special requests. They have a nice private backroom for guests. Good selection of vegetarian dishes. Their chutneys and sauces are great. I have gone with a few friends who are Indian and they hae given the thumbs up. They will spice up a dish if you ask. Their normal spiceyness is very middle of road. Many of my friends like it a bit spicier. Service is very attentive. Sometimes slow getting check so I just let them know in advance we're short on time. They are good about that. I was sad to see the pho place leave but agree this place is better and they are trying really hard to do a great job. I'd definitely recommend them for lunch over dinner time. For $7.95 for the buffet I definitely recommend it and don't forget to ask for the garlic naan...so good.

oh man, this place was really crappy. indian food is very important to me and close close to my heart. i know i'm spoiled, i've spent a lot of time in india traveling and studying regional cooking. sometimes when i eat bad indian food i get so disappointed my teeth hurt and i feel like i might cry just a little. especially when i'm paying a lot of money for bad indian food, ($15 for a veg thali that had no green on the plate, just weak aloo gobi and bland dal) maybe it all would have been different if we'd come for the buffet--but somehow i doubt it. there was so little flavor in the food, salt being predominant. my partner had a meat thali that had both bland chicken curry and bland mutton curry--(excessive!)--something you would never be offered at a real indian restaurant, like in india, not to get all high and mighty just saying it's kinda weird and gross. even the samosas were so sad. samosas are supposed to be little golden fried pockets of happiness and delight, these were (again) bland and salty. the saving grace was the friendly service and the mixed pickle. i really hate to harsh on this place because they were really nice, they just seemed to not have much love in the food. not that you're going to be in anaheim craving indian anytime soon, but if you are--skip it.

I'm not an Indian cuisine type but enjoy tasting different foods on a regular basis. I was brought here by a friend who's been to Tandoori Garden before and has raved about the place in the past. Very happy we came.Good food, good service, I'd go back. Lunch Buffet was $8.95, and on our table before we could get back from the buffet tables, the waiter had brought out this warm toasted flat bread type, garlic bread with what looks to me like parsley and seemed to be brushed with oil, possibly olive oil. along with our drinks and glasses of water, all were waiting for us! That was a nice touch, I was impressed. The host and waiter were great, very hospitable, the bread was all we could eat, brought in paper lined baskets, refilled twice without our asking, the drinks were refilled twice before they were out as well, another plus in my book, the chicken was what I was really into and there were three kinds out, tandoori, curry and another chicken with a savory orange cream colored sauce; that one was my favorite, real zesty tangy chicken. oh, and the mango ice cream was terrific, served with what looks like thinly shaved almonds, there were many vegitable items and other delicacies that I just did not have to room for but it was all so well prepared and here was something there for everybody. We sat out side, both the inside and outside seating areas had tables set up with a table cloth with a glass top, a touch I enjoy. They have a great covered patio, equipt with heaters for the cold nights, nice atmosphere. The buffet had lot's to choose from at a very good price, we got out of there stuffed to the gill's for $23.00 even, not bad for two big eaters .Yeah, I'm happy. Thank;'s Sid, good job.

Im so disappointed with this place. The outside looks really nice and even says they have the best Indian Buffet in OC. So we decided to order takeout, what a MISTAKE. We ordered and about 40 minutes later we were contacted that they kitchen doesnt open until 5. We had already bought everything so we decided to wait. Our bill came to $57 dollar with delivery, 2 orders of garlic naan, a spicy soup, a tikka masala, and a chicken curry, and a side of rice. That's outrageous, but whatever we were starving and lazy. So our food arrived about 6 o clock and the bag looked so small to hold all of our food. We opened up the rice, decent size. We opened up the garlic naan, decent portion. Then my boyfriend opened his tikka masala and there was no sauce, just dry chicken and a slice of lemon. We opened mine and there were about 4 small pieces of chicken (not breasts, pieces). Covered in a tomato sauce with no flavor. I said I wanted it spicy, I could have fed this to my 1 year old nephew and he would have thought it was chef boyardee. The dry chicken tikka masala tasted like 2 day old kabob leftovers. There was no taste and I guess they hoped the lemon would help take some of the cardboard taste away. They need to look up what Tikka Masala is, a creamy curry sauce with chicken. The portions were atrocious, the price didn't match up, and we were still left hungry. This place needs to take a serious look into the kitchen cos mama tandoori isnt doing her job. Way better indian food elsewhere.

Although they refused to honor a livingsocial deal that I purchased to try this restaurant out ( and it was the only reason I wanted to try it ) ... we decided to dine here anyway. The outside is a bit sketchy, but walking in is a totally different experience. The decor is very cute and cultural but.... It took a VERY long time (8-10 minutes) for our server to come back to the table after seating us and pouring us a glass of water, each. We ordered chicken tikka masala, rice, garlic naan, and a half chicken ($40). The chicken tikka masala was lacking its key ingredient-- chicken. Though the serving, which came in a pot the size of a closed fist, was flavorful, there was hardly any chicken in the dish. The sauce was nicely poured over our bismati rice-- but if I wanted to order sauce for my rice I would have done that without hoping it would serve as an entree. Speaking of sauces, we ordered yogurt for our dish as well. Little did we know we were getting a whole dish full of watery yogurt ($4) that we thought was just going to be a complementary dipping sauce in a sauce plate. Who needs that much yogurt with so little food? The half chicken was on the dry side, nothing memorable or anything to rave about. And yes-- the hype about the garlic naan is right. However, I would not dine at a restaurant just for bread and with service as dry and unfriendly as this, I highly doubt I'd ever dine here again but I'm glad I gave it a go. I don't know how they survive when other Indian restaurants in and around the area serve better quality food for better prices- but to each his own !

I came here a while back and I have been meaning to come back but I haven't! First off, the service was alright. They seated us and weren't rude, but they weren't exactly friendly either. They took our orders quite fast, but that night it took SO LONG for the food to come out. There were only four tables that night, including us, and two of the tables only had two people. And the other table only had four people. It took around 15 minutes for food out and I was not that annoyed but I could tell the other tables were because they had waited longer than we did. They first gave us the Mango Lassi, which really did take around 15 minutes to come out, it was warm.. It was delicious, but warm. After reading reviews, we got the garlic naan bread which was DELICIOUS. Mmm! I ordered the Chicken Tiki Masala, which was an okay portion for its price which was around $9. It was absolutely delicious though! Creamy a little tangy but incredible! My sister ordered the Lamb Biryani which was okay. Lots of herbs, but it didn't taste too flavorful. It was a little bland. My mom ordered the Fish Curry which was pretty good! Flavorful and the fish was flaky and melted in your mouth! The decor was pretty and I liked the ambience until the music and TV stopped playing and everything was silent. Overall, the experience was okay, but the food is pretty good!

This restaurant is in our neighborhood and we enjoy the chicken tikka, various vegetable dishes, and the fantastic breads. Especially the sesame naan. Yum! :) The decor is nicer than many Indian restaurants. Outdoor patio dining is available. The women's restroom is clean and has nice decor touches, which is not especially common among other Indian restaurants. Service is very friendly and prompt. Soft drink refills are free. The prices are reasonable. We will be repeat customers with our family and friends.

Having been kicked out of some of the finest Indian restaurants this side of Little India, I can say with some level of of expertise that this is a good solid place. My friend and I came here, after passing on Punjabi Tandoor. The interior is about what you'd expect from an Indian food joint. Nice and clean, vanilla colored table cloths and Indian Music videos on the various tubes. Which reminds me, I totally want to be in an Indian Music Video. If you are reading this and can help me achieve my dream, please message me. I recommend the sesame naan, it's superb. You can't go long with the lamb tikka masala either. So yummy. Staff is friendly and attentive and they don't suffer fools lightly.

This place is amazing the Paneer Tikka Masala was the best I've had. Trust me I'm a very picky eater and so are my family members. The place is centrally located and the best food I've had in a long time. Rates are quite reasonable as well. Everything was fresh and service was great! I will come back and even get them to cater a few events at my hotel as well.

Bought the Groupon coupon ($15 for $31.80 worth of food). Went on a Sunday evening with my girlfriend. Wasn't crowded or busy at all. Waiter & waitress not friendly, rude at times. The plate they brought me was dirty, had to ask for a clean one. Ordered Samosa appetizer, extremely disappointed because it was so small. Sort of tasty but the meat inside didn't taste fresh. Ordered Lamb Tikki Masala which was extremely salty, and the lamb was tough & didn't taste fresh. Also had the Chicken Curry and that was actually good. Had two orders of garlic naan which wasn't that great. Overall the food wasn't bad, nor was it great, maybe 2 stars. The service I would say was horrible. The waitress basically didn't acknowledge my girlfriend the entire night. Rude and unfriendly waiter & waitress which makes it a 1 star!

so authentic place, every thing in the menu really Delicious, highly recommend garlic naan ,cheese naan, gulab jamun for dessert but i don't recommend for any one to the open buffet they have only chicken curry and chicken tandoori thighs , didn't like at all they usually put white meat breast in the regular order .

I love indian food. I love a good buffet. This place has both for lunch, which is the best time to come here, as it is for any local indian restaurant. Prices increase alot at dinner. Great assortment of veggie dishes. The saturday my wife and I came, there were three chicken dishes, including the tandoori chicken -- no lamb. Of course you get fresh naan which is great, especially the garlic naan. Nice service, comfortable chairs, and lots of great food.

The lunch buffet is pretty awesome, and the only thing I am basing five stars on. The food is all good, and I've never once had a problem with service that so many are complaining about (I eat here at least once a month). This place pretty much has the richest, savoriest Chicken Tikka Masala around.. Its amazing. And a pretty standard Indian Buffet lunch selection beyond that. Its a really good value and scrumptious lunch choice.

I've been here twice to have the lunch buffet on Sunday. The food is good, the price is great. If you like cinnamon, ask for hot tea. I always sit outside and the courtyard is really nice--dappled with sunlight through trees. The staff are genuinely attentive and helpful -- and that's my favorite part. You never feel ignored or lost or out of place -- they bend over backward to make sure you're comfortable and happy.

I booked this place for 110 people for my grand daughters 1st birthday party and this is biggest mistake I did for a long time. Sid Charged me $23.00 per head and even the kids over 7 years were charged fully saying they waste lot of food when it is a buffet. The rate was justified by saying that ' we only give proper New Zealnd lamb and you want chicken fish and lamb.' I didn't mind paying this rate thinking we will get a decent service. Of course we paid separately for liquor and even bartender. We were sadly mistaken there was chillie peppers instead of NZ lamb and we dive to find lamb. The starters were given and expected the people to go without decent food. People were in a line to serve and trays were empty. Fish was only available for about 25 people and not 110 people. We had to provide some table covers since there wasn't enpogh. There were few to serve who could understand English since Sid delegated this part to his partner who spoke very little English. I DO NOT recommend this place for any parties and rely on Sid to keep to his word or deliver what was promised verbally. I do not think he will give you the amounts he will serve in writing. I hope my bad experiene in this place will be a lesson for anyone who is thinking of having party. I will never trust this smooth talker Sid and should not have paid more than $15.00 for the service and food we had on the day. G Jayasinghe - Monrovia

Bland, boring food. Chicken tikka masala sauce tasted like it was out of a jar. Worse, during lunch buffet chicken ran out in serving line three times and warmer only had sauce for long periods of time. The customers had to tell them to make more instead of the kitchen being proactive and having it ready. Seasonings so underampped the entire menu (buffet) seemed "dumbed down" for the mostly non-Indian customers. What a shame...I've had much better, authentic Indian food elsewhere. I won't be going back.

The best Indian restaurant in the town. The food they serve is fresh and very good quality. The service is fast. The staff is very friendly. Parking is easy. We were in Anaheim for 4 nights and went to this place 3 of the nights. We tried elsewhere on one night but we should have gone to this very place only. I have already been to Anaheim two times in last one year. They met my expectations both the times. I will keep going there.

My friend from Chi-town wanted some North Indian grub and was staying in Anaheim, so we headed out here. What we liked: -great vegetable korma and daal!!! Good texture and not too creamy. -chicken tikka masala, ATF, my friend really liked it; great portions and right amt of chicken and creaminess. -naan was puffy but still had substance and was filling -free refills on juice/soda, and the servers were very friendly! Why no fifth star: -even the spicy dishes didn't feel too spicy. Oh well, my spice threshold might be increasing. -saturday nite, pretty empty, although it started to pick up around 8/830 Definitely wanna try the tandoor chicken next time to see if it's really on par. But great option for Anaheim if you wanna get away from fast-food or chain restaurants in the area.

I've eaten here twice and loved it. The service the second time was spotty, but the food was excellent. We discovered that they do a lovely Okra dish which the menu claims is healthy and it might truly be good for you. It contains a bit of oil, but is not swimming in ghee. We have a third Groupon and are looking forward to going back for a third dinner. They don't make the dishes overly spicy, but we always asked for medium. I may ask for spicy next time to kick it up a bit. I think some of the poor reviews are for the buffet, which we have not tried. Both times we ordered off the menu and our food was piping hot and tasty. Without hauling down the 91 to Pioneer Blvd in Artesia, this is the nicest sit-down Indian near our home in Fullerton. Don't be put off by the poor reviews. We have paid about $40 for three people for both of our meals and have had leftovers to take home. I'm not a novice Indian food lover - I've spent three weeks in India - and this food is Americanized, but it is still wonderful.

Very disappointing! My friend and I went there last night for dinner. We both ordered tikka masala sauce and garlic naan. Everything was so bland! There was no flavour and the sauce was so thin and runny. I had my sauce with paneer which was okay. She ordered lamb and it was so rough and chewy it was like mutton. She didn't even eat it. She complained to them and we had hoped they would comp us on the check, but they didn't. Never again. I will just have to stick with Artesia. You cannot go wrong there. Especially at Ashoka's. Since I wrote this review I was contacted by the manager. He apologized for our experience and has invited me back. I told him I would love to give them a second chance.

one of the few good indian restaurants in north county...i stumbled upon this place by accident when another indian place closed down and it has quickly become one of my favorites. the samosas are fantastic, lamb curry is delicious and the chicken tikka masala is divine. the service is wonderful and on top of all this THEY DELIVER! i don't see how it could get any better than this. definitely one to check out!

The Good: Romantic setting, dim lights, and good food. The entrees range around the $10, so that's pretty good. The curry was spicy and very tasty. I liked the grainy texture in the rice and it is topped with cilantro. The Bad: It had to have been our server's first day because he had no idea what we were ordering. He had to look at our menu and copy it down. He also could not speak much English, but at least, he was a nice guy. Try: the chicken curry with onions or potatoes. They have different flavors, but both are very good and spicy. Don't Try: buying the naan. Just sit patiently and they should serve you some for free. Their naan is prepared buttery and fluffy. Yum!

Came here last week since I've been craving big time from some chicken tikki masala! I've read reviews for this place a while ago, I even think one of my friends mentioned it before but now I finally had the chance to test it out. I used to live in LA where there were lots of little Indian restaurants around offering all you can eat lunch for super cheap, though this place is not as cheap cheap, its price for all you can eat lunch is good enough for me! I think about $9 for lunch, you can eat till your heart is content! My heart smiles. =) I can't really remember all the names of the dishes offered, but there are about 6-7 choices, salad and 4 different desserts. Yumm! Of course one of the dishes include tikki masala. It's pretty good, very creamy but not enough kick in the flavor category. I think I've had a bit better at other places, but here you can eat all you want plus it's close enough where I can go whenever I want. I wished they had more chicken in there because I felt like I had to search around and try to find it, I was also worried about taking out too much because other people were there. They probably do this because they don't want it to go to waste if it's not going to be eaten. Oh well who can complain, it's all you can eat. hehe Anyways, I love the idea of all you can eat, you always have choices so we just tried a bit of each. I really liked the creamy spinach dish, now that has some good flavors. It tastes wonderfully with the naan- which comes with the buffet. I think you can have the naan plain or garlic. Definitely go for the garlic! My friend tried the vegetarian samosa, she said it was pretty good but since she wasn't a fan of spiciness she couldn't finish it. In the end we agreed the masala and spinach were the best. Oh I almost forgot to mention the most important thing, the rice! The rice was very fluffy and moist, not dry or hard which I like because it mixes in nicely with all the sauce and soaks it all up. This it what I look for in rice, its ability to compliment a dish, not take away from it with having to use more energy biting and chewing. hehe thumbs up for this! As for the dessert, gulub jamun!! haha I don't know why but I always look for this. It's like a donut hole stewing in sweet syrup. It's so sweet I can only eat 2 but it always makes a good dessert, I guess since the food is so flavorful, something simple and sweet gives it a nice touch. I also tried the carrot pudding. This is quite an interesting dessert, it's like mashed up carrot with cinnamon and other spices, I think my friend said a bit of ginger? The taste might be a bit too powerful, but something to try. My friend tried the mango ice cream, she said it doesn't really taste like mango, maybe spiced up with additional flavors (safran?) I'll have to try it next time. You can actually spot this place when you're driving, but it is sort of tucked away in a business area so it doesn't get noticed much. It is a place worth trying if you're ever craving for indian food. Check this place out, spread the word, and keep it alive. Happy eating!

Overpriced and awful service. I went here for a late late dinner with a friend of mine. There was barely anyone else in the restaurant. The entrees were 8-12 dollars, and were absolutely tiny proportionally ... and didn't even come with rice. For an order of rice, two small entrees, garlic naan and an iced tea the bill was almost $40. Totally not worth it. The food quality was mediocre, the only nice thing was the atmosphere. The service was the worst part. The waiter took our order, gave it to the cook, then proceeded to spend the rest of the evening on facebook on his laptop at the front counter. Not once did he come to check on us, or refill our drinks. The only time we saw him again was when he dropped off the food, and consequently the bill. This man should be fired, he completely ignored us. He finally refilled our water after about twenty minutes and didn't get me another iced tea. We heard him laughing and talking with another waiter about women on facebook and "oh she likes you!" but he couldn't be bothered to check on us. We will never be going here again.

Went here for a late lunch today. When we walked in they offered us the buffet or the full menu. After taking a look around at the buffet, we thought that this would be the best option since we could try a little bit of everything. The food was pretty good. The garlic naan bread (which was included with the buffet) they brought out was pretty tasty. My only complaint about today's lunch buffet is that we were under the impression that it was a champagne brunch from 11am to 3pm. I asked the server, and he said that this wasn't the case. Then I wonder why it was advertising this at the entrance? (I also checked the website, and it says that it is a champagne brunch!) I think I'll check out some other Indian restaurants...

In general, while I do enjoy Indian food, a lot of it tastes the same to me. In my opinion, there isn't much to differentiate one Indian place from another. There's usually a lunch buffet, "Tandoori" somewhere in the name, there's some Bollywood dancing on a TV somewhere, and the food is some kind of curry mush. While Tandoori Garden does check some of those boxes (see name and lunch buffet), the one thing they've accomplished here is making the food stand out from other Indian places. The garlic naan is probably the best naan I've ever had, hands down, and the curry fish (mahi-mahi) was a revelation (I also tried the aloo gobhi and the chicken korma, both of which were decent). The flavors in each dish are unique, and I am excited to try some of the other offerings next time. I will most definitely visit again! *Tip: if you check in with Yelp on your smartphone, you can score a 10% discount here - just show them the coupon that pops up.

I've have both dined-in here (yay Groupon!) and ordered delivery as well. It is located by a lot of office buildings and does look a little out of place, but I have always been happy with the food here - great curry and fluffy naan. I'm docking one star because I felt service was very slow the night I dined there, even though we were only one of two parties there. The server was not very attentive, and was definitely browsing facebook rather than attending to the guests.

This is my fav indian restaurant by far....I bring my family and friends here. I got my hlp addicted to their garlic naan. Friendly staff and service. Indian buffet 11am-3pm..around $10..drinks. :)

great tasty food, but portions are on the smaller side. management is great--the owners of the restaurant are very friendly and make sure you are happy with your meal. unfortunately, most entrees (maybe all?) don't come with rice or bread. bummer! most dishes are about $8-$10 so I was expecting rice, but nope.... I had to order a side of rice; the full plate of rice is enough for 2 people the chicken tiki masala is delicious! the sauce was very creamy and the chicken was tasty. I came here with a groupon so I got a good deal, but I don't think I will be back

My friend and I had the pleasure of dining here with a Groupon deal (seriously Groupons are great). The location is right off Anaheim Blvd, with green neon lights (yes we were worried). But as soon as we stepped inside, it looked totally different from what I imagined. The place is huge! You won't have trouble fitting a large party. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice their lunch buffet. Too bad we were here for dinner. The place was a little dim, but who wants it to be really bright anyways. We started off with the Fish Tandoori and the Chicken Makhni and shared the Lamb Vindaloo. Yes, we had a lot of leftovers :T The Lamb was one of my favorite it was very flavorful with a lot of herbs. The Chicken Makhni (Buttered Chicken) was also very good. I don't quite remember if the Fish Tandoori was good, but I know it wasn't bad. PS The Garlic Naan was the best that I ever had. It made a the dishes that much better. For those that have Groupons or mentioned the horrible service. We didn't have any trouble redeeming ours, nor was the service that horrible. Yes, they were a little cold, but they were very attentive never allowed me to empty my cup of water. \ I'll come back for the garlic naan someday...

Pretty good indian food buffet, but I'm not expert. I've only been here for the lunch buffet, so I can't say much about their regular menu. Garlic Naan is good. Curries are good. All the dishes are pretty tasty. My favorite part is the mango ice cream. Very creamy and delicious. Lots of people come here to eat by themselves during lunch, so if you're in the mood for indian and there's no one else to eat with you...don't be afraid to come here. Service is friendly and I've never had a bad experience here.

This place is reallyyy good. Iv been there for the lunch buffet and the normal dinner. The buffet is like $12 and it's such a deal! They have am amazing carrot pudding, yum! The regular dinner is a little more pricey because u have to buy the entree, rice, and naan (bread) separately. But the entree portion is big. Overall it's goodass food.

I joined Yelp just to write about this awful experience. Do not believe the hype about this place. Just ordered $50 worth of food to my hotel. The chicken tikka and seek kebab was cold and solid as a rock. The mango lassi tasted like mango pulp and watered down. The food arrived cold and extremely dissapointed. Hope the owner Sid (who was also the delivery driver) reads this and acts upon his customers negative experience.

Buffet was ok, my go to dish was the palak paneer for every indian place i go to. i thought it was pretty bland. good variety for the buffet and the garlic naan was really tasty. at the end of the day, the place did give me bubble guts. maybe give it another try and see how it goes.

Tandoori is in a very deserted building complex in Anaheim so don't let the nearly empty parking lot deter you. Tandoori Garden has a great lunch buffet. You'll find the usually buffet selections, all of which tasted great. The garlic naan was as good as any and the dessert selection, especially with home made mango ice cream, was the clincher.

This review is based on the lunch buffet. So I've been to quite a few Indian lunch buffets (in addition to "fine dining" at dinner time) since I became an Indian food groupie and not one has really left me with an "omg nom nom nom I must return ASAP" kind of feeling (except Bukhara in Huntington Beach, but they lack on variety of items). Except for Tandoori Garden. My bestie Danielle B. and I were on the prowl for a delicious (and tummy plumping) Indian lunch buffet today. I devoted a great amount of time to properly researching an appropriate location for this occasion (thanks Yelp). Realizing the veggie Indian place we wanted to try was closed on Mondays, we decided to give Tandoori Garden a try. First impression: this place looks good. The interior was nicely done with elephant statues and pretty tablecloths under glass. The man who greeted us was incredibly welcoming and immediately sat us, took our drink order, and told us to help ourselves to the buffet. There were about 10 hot items to choose from, many of them being vegetarian. There were two chicken items and no goat or lamb. There was also salad, assorted fruit, and dessert (rice pudding, gulab jamon, and the most delicious homemade mango ice cream... SO good). I believe the buffet was $8.95, which seems about standard price. I wasn't impressed with the saag paneer (it was kind of sweet, not garlic-y) and the food wasn't spicy at all, but those are just minor things. The mango ice cream was amazing and probably my favorite part of the meal. Yum!

The boyfriend and I were craving Indian food while we were in Southern California, and we stumbled upon this restaurant. It was very close to Disneyland, which was very convenient. The service was great - the waiters were really friendly, and they made sure we were taken care of even though we were seated outside (because there was a private company party that night). The food was good, but the taste was not exceptional. We ordered the shrimp tandoori and chicken masala. We've never had tandoori before so that's what we tried. The shrimps were huge and they tasted good. The chicken masala was very creamy and dairy-tasting. We ordered the shrimp tandoori, chicken masala, one order of rice and one order of naan for two people and the total was $30.

Note: The 3 stars is for the lunch buffet. As with most non-American, non-Chinese buffets here, there isn't as much of a selection. But it was decent for what it was. Service was good; the waiter kept coming by to refill our water and garlic naan basket. Also the music kept switching between traditional Indian music and Massive Attack.

My friends and I were the only non-Indian people present at the restaurant between staff and patrons. To me, this is indicative of an EXCELLENT Indian dining experience! I was pleased with all aspects of the meal. Of course, as a beginner in Indian food, I am sure what I ordered was puerile and elementary, but the garlic naan was yum, the tandoori chicken was flavorful, and we ordered paneer makhni off the menu which was absofuckinglutely bomb. I need to go back and just get THAT and some rice and I am good good good.

Y'know, I think all the daily deal sites have really helped improved the social interactions that people have with each other. They lead to more date nights and more experimenting with new places. Duke D. and I went to Tandoori Garden because he had purchased a Groupon and knew that I loved Indian food. It was also going to be fun because he had never had Indian food before so I got to educate him as I put in all the orders for us that night. So we went on a weeknight and were pretty much the only patrons there at the time. There was one man sitting near the wall who was eating along but that was it. It was cool to choose wherever we wanted to sit so we chose a fairly central table. I say that the atmosphere was casual but also a little nicer than casual in some areas because the interior was pretty nice and had low, "romantic" lighting. The wait staff was quite mindful and polished. Drinks came first so I snagged a glass of their mango lassi (specialty Indian drink of homemade yogurt, milk, mango pulp, and crushed ice). It was very smooth and delicious. I had to resist from finishing it before all the food came out. Duke D. got one of the Indian beers but it ended up not really being his thing. We started off with their vegetable samosas. I wanted him to get a chance to taste what a good samosa was like (we had had a sample one at OC Decadence that I didn't like nor did I like any of the other Indian food samples that were offered). Tandoori Garden's version was chock-full of potato and spiced peas. It was very good and flavorful. Based off of Yelp reviews, we decided that we would do three entrees since people said the portions were small. We got the basics of Indian food - chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, and lamb saag. They came out in traditional Indian food serving-ware (neat!) and were deceptively small looking in volume. As we found out throughout the night though, the portions were actually quite large considering the richness of flavor. The chicken tikka masala was pretty good; it was a lot sweeter than I typically have had it but in a good way. I actually liked it for its sweet savoriness over being too spice-heavy. The saag paneer was also not what I was accustomed to because the spinach was very blended and they had the real Indian cheese in it. Delicious (I had it often for leftover meals the days after)! The lamb saag was my least favorite of the three but it wasn't bad. I just felt like the spinach overpowered the lamb. Overall, fantastic entrees with so many spices as is fit of Indian food! Of course, because we were forewarned by Yelp reviews that there wasn't rice with the entrees, we also got a full portion of their Basmati rice. It was well-done and quite colorful actually. The cilantro was a nice fresh touch. We also had an order of their regular naan and their garlic naan. The garlic naan was superb. It was warm and fresh with a nice crispy skin. It was seasoned well and definitely done properly. Great naan!

My husband and I really like this place. We went a few times with a Groupon and just keep going back. The guy who works the front and is the server is super nice. Their buffet is good and their naan is super good, as are the kheer and halwa desserts. My biggest draw is that their yogurt is homemade. Their raita is fabulous - I drool thinking about its refreshing puckery flavor. Really good paneer - and lots of it. I am deducting a star only because I haven't had good luck in getting my food mild enough when ordering off the menu.

This place is a little odd. I went here with a few friends because it was walking distance from his close by apartment. It was a Saturday night and this place looked like we were there on a Tuesday night. There was barely anyone there. Not the best sign. Looking at the drink menu there wasn't a large variety. They offered 2 Indian beers. They also had the traditional Indian drink, Lassi. The beers were good. I didn't get to try the Lassi. Now the food: I ordered something safe, lamb tikka. I love me some lamb, but this lamb was a bit on the dry side. I did like the sauce it came with. We ordered plenty of naan. I ate the sauce with the naan like a champ. Nom Nom Nom. The portions are pretty small for the price you pay, just so you know. The service was good, but the food came out rather slow. They kept checking up on us and made sure we had everything we needed, I give them a 3.5 stars, but I'll round down to 3 b/c it was good, but not 4 star good.

  • J K.

I don't know how to rate this place because our experience was varied. The service was great when we walked in. It's a little cleaner than the average restaurant. Then the food arrived. It was standard Indian cuisine -- good. Then the service was awful. Then a big family came in and the owners and waiters started hanging out with the family. Again, we were being ignored but it was nice to see the big family having fun. Then some of the family members started socializing with us, which was nice. We tried to get our check and we were given attitude. Overall, the service was awful and the food was just okay: 2 stars.

We bought a Groupon and tried this restaurant based on the very good reviews, averaging 4 stars. The menu looked inviting but our choices were limited. We had to choose two a la carte entrees only, no combinations that would have cost the same amount. Our waiter did not make us feel welcome and returned as we were finishing to start taking plates away even though there was no rush. The place was pretty empty. So although the food was excellent we felt such indifferent service that I would not recommend this place. Perhaps we would have felt differently without the Groupon, and have been treated differently. But for such unfriendly treatment -- two stars.

Two words...BUTTER CHICKEN! The best I have had yet! Perfectly flavored and spiced. Nice sized portion, even had some to take home. Garlic naan was just as expected...freshly made and great flavor. Basmati rice was cooked just right. Service was great although it was empty on a weekday around 5pm. Need to come back to try the lunch buffet!

I am not a 'sophisticated' diner. For the most part, I really prefer casual dinning than fine dinning because I am too lazy to have to dress up and doll up to go out. I wish I had remember to put the memory card in the camera which I brought but couldn't use! I would have loved to take pictures of this place to show you its decor which is very confusing. Part of it is quite elegant, the other part extremely cheesy. Now the food. The Garlic Naan was good, but I wanted MORE! The Chicken Vindaloo was flavorful but it had more potato than chicken! The Chicken Tikka Marsala was really good. The curry was creamy with the right amount of spiciness, but you get a lot of curry sauce with very few pieces of chicken! Since no rice came with the entree, we also ordered a plate of Vegetable Briyani (kind of like vegetable fried rice). It didn't go well with the entrees because I thought the it was too much flavor and clashed with the entrees. Should have just ordered more Naan's instead. The food is not bad, but the portion is really small, meaning you get more filler like potato or sauce than meat. Service felt rushed which made me kind of uneasy. Once the order was taken, she never came back to check on us but left it to the bus boy to refill our water and such. There is a much better Indian restaurant nearby, so I doubt I'll be back.

Love the food but the only thing keeping it from being 5 stars and that's the torpid style of service. I can't be too harsh on the server though because he's usually the only person taking in-person and phone orders and also the one serving food. We usually start off with chicken pakora which is delicious. For entrée, butter chicken is great and grilled combos provide a nice complement. Kheer is also fantastic for dessert.

Got a living social deal for this place, so we gave it a try. It probably would not have been on my radar otherwise. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. My husband and I shared two appetizers, the samosas and the pakora. The samosas were good, but nothing special. The pakoras were outstanding. Crisp and flavorful and full of veggies. We each had the veggie sampler after that, and everything was tasty. The baingan bartha was wonderfully smoky, and the naan was plentiful and very well done. I think when we come back in the future, we would not get the appetizers, and take the food to go. The bill before the living social $20 deal was $43. A little pricey for the level of atmosphere and service. It is basically a space in an office plaza, nothing special. We sat about 8 feet from the front door. The service was friendly, and they seemed busy, but we never even got drinks or even water refilled. But, the food was worth it. And contrary to other reviewers, we had no problem redeeming our voucher.

I absolutely love this place! Disclaimer: if you are coming here for ambiance you are coming to the wrong place because this has the crusty charm of a traditional Indian restaurant which is the ONLY reason they are not five star. That said, I love it! ;) I've been eating Indian food my whole life, and whereas that does not necessarily make me an expert, it does mean that I have a tad bit of sense when it comes to Indian spices done good or otherwise. The food here is so great! Very traditional Indian fare with seasoning done right! It's not spicy until it makes me blush and my nose runny, and this place does it every time...they also make everything to order (obviously) so if you know you want a little more heat then by all means ask for it and they will deliver. The Chicken Tikka is always a good choice and Vegetable Korma is a good choice for the non-meat eaters! When you wrap the nan (every variety is good) around the basmati rice and chicken tikka it is magic! they are all good on their own of course, but together...BOOM! Also the Samosas are bomb as are the vegetable pakora! The service is also excellent! Very helpful, attentive, yet unassuming. You hardly have to ask for anything, but if you do, it will be delivered very quickly and with a professional attitude. I hope this doesn't sound racist, but there is always ethnically Indian clientele eating here (among other races too obviously) which is usually a pretty good sign that the food is authentic :) Also, for the value seekers out there, their brunch cannot be beat! its like $12 for endless buffet and champagne! Nom Nom Nom!

I have been coming here since they first opened a few years back because it was walking distance to home. The food is always delicious. I would have given a perfect score but the service tends to be a bit slow. I also went in for a champagne brunch but they only gave one glass to me and one to my wife (hers signifigantly smaller and not filled all the way) and then wouldn't refill the glasses. Like I said, great food but don't go if you have somewhere to be after you eat!

Came on a Wednesday 11:20 am for their lunch buffet (begins at 11 AM )., The place was completely empty except for one homeless looking man drinking only a beer. They advertise 25 different dishes, but there were only enough buffet warming pans for 18. Of which there were only nine of them filled. They never did fill up the tandoori chicken pan, and a few others. By the time I left at noon, they still didn't fill up the rest of the warming pans and the place was still empty except for that one guy drinking beer. The waiter was nice enough., but his brother was just there talking with him and eating food. The homeless guy seem to want to talk to everybody so that was annoying. Now that it is noon three more people walked in finally. The food that they had out was okay at best. I am not making a trip back here. Lunch buffet is $8.95 They don't tell you that your soft drink is not included in that cost, it is an additional $2.50

Yum. And yum. We ordered the chicken vindaloo and vegetable korma. Both were fantastic. Be ready if you choose HOT. They aren't playing around. It was so hot it was almost too much for either of us. Excellent rice cooked perfectly and delicious naan. The service was outstanding and we can't believe it wasn't packed in a holiday weekend night. Very authentic setting. We will definitely go back.

Tandoori Garden now occupies what used to be Pho Republic. Although I'm sad to see a Vietnamese restaurant go (because I LOVE Vietnamese food) I am happy to see another ethnic restaurant take its place. My favorite Indian dish is malai kofta and I found Tandoori's to be on the bland side compared to that of Indian Restaurant. The sauce is definitely creamy but I think I will go another level of spiciness the next time. We also got the saag paneer which was also ok. Our garlic naan was aromatic but lacked a kick. I don't want to be too critical since the restaurant just opened its doors two days ago. I look forward to coming back and enjoying their lunch/brunch buffet and I also look forward to taking advantage of their delivery service!!!!!

I had to give them 5 stars as the food was fresh and tasty plus the service was great. Top Indian Food we have eaten in the area. My wife and I used a Groupon and so glad we gave this place a try. We ordered the Punjabi Combo (comes with basmati rice, naan and desert), Fish Tandoori and 2 Chai Tea. It was so good we forced ourselves to clean the plates! Cannot wait to return and try some of the other goodies.

Went to this place after having their food delivered to our workplace. The service was fast and quick. We ordered the Vegetable Korma, Lamb Karahi, tandoori mix grill and some rotis. The food didn't take that long but the portions were very small. When its ordered to go, the portions are much bigger. Overall the food was DELICIOUS, especially the lamb karahi. I highly recommend that dish! There wasn't any problem for parking or finding the place. Its by Downtown Anaheim near Disneyland!

Wow, what a rip off. My wife ordered a tiki platter, $17.50. It WAS supposed to be all kinds of tiki, what they didn't state was that it was an extremely small portion. The tandori chicken was composed of two tiny pieces: half of a drumstick and a tiny piece of wing. They sell it though as a "quarter of a chicken!" No way. We thought they were just bringing us an appetizer and the rest of the food was on the way. To add insult, they didn't include shrimp pieces as they advertised, so I sat there until they cooked up some shrimp. The server brought two pieces the size of a nickel, no kidding. My chicken tiki masala was about $11.00 and came in a very small bowl. I thought it was a dipping sauce with some chicken pieces inside. So I called the server and said, "There's more coming right? I mean, this isn't our complete order right?" He assured me that was it. I could go on and on but you get the picture. I will never go there again. Like I said, "what a rip off." Horrible value.

First let me explain something. I had to have some indian food and ordered through delivery.com Now you know I was traveling with 2 indian girls. Disclaimer: if you are not indian and you order something to go and they detect your name is american, THIS RESTAURANT WILL RIP YOU OFF. You'll see why I ordered Pickle stand Mushroom Masala Matter Paneer Lamb Karahi Basmati Boiled Rice - 2.95 2 Onion Naan for 2.95 1 Kheer pudding for 2.95 The food was delivered by a good looking indian guy that was checking out Disha...hahaha. When I opened the contents, here's what I found The mushroom masala and matter paneer was given in abundance. Nice. Good flavors, the girls were in heaven and loved the dishes Cons. The rice was a small container. Think half portion that they give you in a chinese restaurant. And mind you, chinese restarants give rice for 1.00...for 2.95 I was ripped off. The bad part. I ordered 2 onion naan. They GAVE ME 1 onion naan cut into two pieces. WTF. They were ripping me off and royally pissed me off. The girls saw my anger and Ruchi called the restaurant ...who in turn, sent 4 LARGE plain naan and a LARGE basmati rice (enough for 4 people) They spoke Hindi to them and they said next time, order with them directly. So Indian people giving other indian people preferential treatment. YOU HEARD IT FOLKS. These people are for their own. Be Careful.

I just walked in right at 11 when they open. Dude was still setting up the buffet, did not even offer to seat me and said i need to wait for a couple more minutes. I was the only person there and there was a whole restaurant of seating open. Whatever i went out to stand in the front and made a phone call then walked back in and noone was around. When the cooks can see you they should maybe say something cause one of them looked right at me. All i wanted was to sit down and get out of the heat and they threw me right back into it. After waiting for about 8 minutes for someone to acknowledge me, i just left. Didn't even get to try the food. Bummer for them cause i have been looking for a decent Indian buffet around town and after how i was treated today i will not be going there again.

Soooooo damn delicious! Came here last night with my BFF and we both had a lovely experience. The food was so full of flavor, fresh, tender, and the perfect amount of spicy hotness. We both got a fish dish, I had the Fish Masala, and Jamie had the Fish Curry. Both were Mahi Mahi, and so so tender. We also shared a plate of their Basmati rice, which was perfect. We both thought that the portion was perfect, we felt satisfied, but not stuffed. I also got their ginger root tea, which was nice. We ordered a side of their garlic Naan bread, and that was also delicious. For desert we shared the Rasmalai... interesting. I liked it, but I think next time I'll go with the mango ice cream. The waiter and waitress were both very accommodating and pleasant. I look forward to eating here again, they also deliver, so will probably give that a shot too, although, I really liked the atmosphere in the restaurant.

I used to hate Indian food, but my tastes change so I always try things I don't like every so often. I'm so glad I did with Indian because now I love it! My husband & I ordered from this place about a month ago through the website and got the 10% yelp discount. They delivered the food in about 45 minutes and the delivery person was super friendly. The food was piping hot and very yummy. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Makhni, but couldn't really tell which was which because they tasted almost exactly the same, although they were both delicious. We also got the following: Plain Naan - wonderful texture and slightly buttery. Placed in foil to keep them hot. Vegetable samosas - yum! and the 2 dipping sauces were both delicious, especially the cilantro/mint one. Basmati rice - a full order lasted through our entire meal and we had left overs of this and the curries to eat another meal. The portions were huge. I was glad to eat this the next day and found myself wanting more of it still. Just this past week, we got a deal on LivingSocial so decided to dine in. Parking was very convenient - they have a lot right in front. The restaurant was pretty empty (we were there on a Thurs night), but very beautifully decorated and inviting. Service was good and the people were very friendly. This time we ordered the Chicken Makhni which is cheaper than the tikka masala since it tastes pretty much the same to us, and was just as delicious as the first time. We also got: Mango Lassi - delicious! but a little on the watery side. Taj Mahal beer - sub par, but we didn't expect much. Vegetable samosas - same as last time - dense and flavorful. We realized that the sauces were just in these little tubs that probably sit out all day. Saag Paneer - this dish was very good, the cheese was very soft and overall very flavorful. Plain naan - even better - tastes like it was straight from the tandoor and yes, very buttery once again. Basmati rice - hot and served with a few green peas Overall, good portions, and the quality of the food and service were very good. Without the deals we got, it's a bit on the pricey side, but they do give you a good portion. We will probably come back to try the buffet since we are pretty happy with everything else so far.

Love this place. The food is excellent, the curries perfectly spiced, the chicken tikki masala is creamy and delicious - not at all greasy. The naan is soft, and the garlic naan is to die for. My favorite part - they deliver! The prices are reasonable for indian, really couldn't ask for more - was so excited when I found this place near my home.

I hosted a business networking meetup event here for 20 people on a Sunday at 1pm. I called a week before to make reservations and the employees were very nice and accommodating. They allowed each member of our group to pay separately and seated us in the spacious back room that allowed us space to walk around and socialize. Our group all chose to do the $10.95 buffet that included soda and a glass of champagne, plus unlimited naan at the table. The selections on the buffet included basmati rice, chicken tikka, chicken curry, spinach dish, garbanzo dish, samosas, fried veggies, vegetable dish, mango ice cream, kheer, and a few other dishes that I can't remember the name of. It was your standard Indian food. Not amazing or spicy but decent. I wouldn't go back for the food but would go back for a group event because it is the perfect setup for a get-together. If you want great Indian, check Punjabi Tandoor down the street. A lot cheaper, freshly made, and way more delicious.

My boyfriend and I ate dinner at Tandoori Garden tonight. My boyfriend had bought a Groupon that was good for 2 entrees and 2 orders of naan (tandoori bread). I have eaten Indian food in Little India before, but that was several years ago, so it was nice to have Indian food again. The naan is so addicting - I love it! For our 2 entrees, we got the Chicken Korma (juicy chicken pieces cooked in a rich cream and yogurt sauce thickened with onions, spiced with garlic and giner, garnished) and the Lamb Saag (boneless diced lamb cooked in spinach with a blend of Indian spices). Both dishes were very tasty and delicious. This was definitely one of the best dinners I have had in a while. My boyfriend also tried one of the Indian beers, which he liked. The staff here are very nice and came by several times to check on us. Overall, I give a thumbs-up to Tandoori Garden!
