I purchased an Unagi bowl last night and it was wrapped up in a bag when i arrived and paying $17. After arrving home I opened the bag and found the container cut up at corners and realizing that my bowl was exposed and had become cold which I believe is very unsanitary and unprofessional. Why would you serve a bowl to go in a cut up container? WHY? Considering the fact that I hadn't enjoyed my two initial visits and after giving them a third try... This happens. Most definitely not coming back. Also, their sushi isn't the best. Average at most.

Opens until Midnight!! My boyfriend and I were craving sushi and when we yelped for a sushi place, a lot of them were closed. We came across this place and decided to give it a go! SO GLAD WE DID. Upon entering the area, there's actually a few places that were still opened like the billiards store and I believe a café..? Not sure, but there's a bunch of people standing around smoking, talking to their friends, hanging out and whatnot (usually older men), which intimidated me at first. When we entered the sushi place, we were greeted immediately and taken care of. Sadly, I don't remember the name of our server, but he's one of the younger ones and wears glasses! He's super nice and quick to respond. We were served right away and got food pretty fast too. Food was pretty delicious and portions were good! Spicy scallop roll was not too spicy, crunchy roll was huge and had a good amount of sauce drizzled on it and crumbs sprinkled atop, and a baked roll we had was warm and to die for! Pricing for the dishes are pretty reasonable compared to other locations like Kabuki. Only thing that weirded me out was that soda beverages and lemonade comes in a can. Other than that, I will definitely be coming back here!!

This place has fresh and yummy sushi! Solid rolls and healthy portions for the cost. I'm normally pretty picky about my sushi, but this place honestly surprised me. Their fish is fresh and tastes like it's good quality. They have fun options and everything is relatively well priced. As a casual lunch spot, I'd highly recommend it. Service was good.

Cute date night sushi spot. Top notch rolls, food was a lot better than other places that I've been to that look very similar. It's slightly pricier than other places too, but since the quality was better, didn't really mind that too much. Place is located next to a Korean fried chicken joint. I will definitely be back here.

Came here for dinner with my husband last night. This place has been bookmarked for a while now and we finally tried it. This restaurant is located in a small center that houses a billiards place and a chicken place. The restaurant is extremely small. The mirrors that aligned the walls made it look larger. When we arrived , there was another party ahead of us. They were waiting for a table of 4 so we were able to snag the two seats at a the bar. The menu consisted of items from any other sushi restaurant. My husband ordered the beef udon and I ordered the dynamite roll, baked lobster roll, baked tilapia, and sesame chicken for us to share. Food came out after 30 minutes or so from when we placed our order. There were only two sushi chefs making everything so we waited. My husband enjoyed his beef udon and said that it had more flavor than some places he's been to. The rolls were all just ok. Nothing special. Wasn't the greatest I've ever had. The wait staff was super busy running everywhere getting orders, seating people, cleaning, etc. that they never checked on us a we ran out of drinks and sat there and sat there and sat there trying to flag someone down. Finally we got someone's attention and got the bill. Won't be back.

Places is kind of small but it's lit pretty nicely, more of a romantic sushi bar. Sushi is pretty good -highly recommend the firecracker (10.99)- but some of the rolls were falling apart. Only 2 chefs so if there's people already waiting it might take a while. They give strawberries and whipped cream as dessert which is nice and cute.

Good food for the price. Good sized portions. We ordered salmon skin salad which came packed with salmon skin and was a meal in itself. We got the special of the night , salmon collar, which was good. The Charashi Bowl was delish!!!! Great service too. They're open until midnight and the location is right next to a Korean pool hall. Best of all: they have sriracha sauce yay!!!!

Really good sushi. Very friendly chefs and plenty of parking to boot. The dining area is intimate and perfect for a date with the wife. I'm really lucky to have stumbled upon this place. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try.

Excellent sushi, super fresh. The atmosphere is really quiet and sort of romantic. I have loved this place since the first time I tried it and it hasn't let me down once.

We recently moved into the neighbourhood and were looking for a sushi place. This place is great. The sushi rolls we got were all delicious and fresh. We will definitely be back here to discover other rolls!

My husband and I love Sushi Dake! It's a great local sushi joint that's open late and has friendly service and delicious food.

LOVE this place! Came here around 11pm & service was great. I'm not a big fan of raw sushi. Luckily this place has so many baked options! They're all amazing. I've tried the baby lobster, baked scallops, baked salmon, and soft shell crab. all delicious. My favorite is definitely the soft shell crab-a must try!

  • Jonathan U.

Food here was mediocre. I ordered the dynamite roll and philly roll. The dynamite roll was probably the worst tasting roll ive ever tasted. I dont know exactly what about it was bad but it just sucked. The philly roll however was actually really good. You cant really go wrong with that roll. The sushi didnt taste too fresh but not too old either. They only had 2 waitresses working (around 9pm) which i guess is ok considering they only have about 10 tables and a bar area. Probably wont be coming back to this place again.

First thing we saw on Yelp as we were looking for a Sushi place after a long day at Disneyland. The atmosphere inside was relaxing and our host/waitress Dianna was very accommodating. She gave us a wonderful experience at this place. Definitely will come back again.

The salmon collar is EVERYTHING!!! Just gave me life. Food is delicious and the service is amazing. Dianne has been our server on multiple occasions and it has been magic every time. She really is the best. Request her! You won't regret it. :)

  • Lauren B.

Some of the people that work here are actually Japanese! haha! However, the quality of the fish was just okay. I ordered the sweet shrimp and the fried shrimp heads were tough and hard to chew. I am not sure if it was because of the oil being old or the shrimp wasn't fresh? My favorites pieces were the scallop handroll with gobo, I normally ask for shiso too, but they didn't have any. :( I also enjoyed the Ikura boats with quail eggs, the quail eggs were fresh. The service was very polite just a little unseasoned. Good green tea ice cream though! :P Stars 2 1/2

So I decided to check this place out by myself on a Sunday night and I was quite pleased. The chef and staff were quite nice people and tended to my every need. I ordered and eel roll and a hand cut roll of spicy tuna and topped it off with a nice large asahi beer. For desert I got the green tea ice cream. It was great in all and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent sushi spot. Thanks for a great done in guys and I wish you the best.

One of the few sushi joints that are open late . I ordered the baked scallops and alaskan roll, both really delicious. Came with complementary miso soup, edamame, and strawberries. Be sure to bring a jacket inside it gets chilly in there!

Good food. As soon as we payed they kicked us out when we were trying to have a family conversation. Very rude. We will never come back or recommend.

Just moved to the area and tried this place out being just down the street. Place is clean, well lit, and the layout was good for the space. Customer service was excellent. Sushi was very thinly cut... Reminded me of the all you can eat style size portions. If I'm paying per serving I expect decent sized slabs of fish. Tuna was pink and had good taste, the yellow tail on the other hand smelled a bit fishy and had a slight yellow tinge as if it had been sitting for a long time (should have been perfectly white) Firecracker and Hawaiian rolls were good but needed a little bit more to them. Appetizers and comp dessert were nice, and green tea was good. It really seems as if the place is going through a rough patch. Napkins are store bought, and they used the fake plastic grass thing that you would find in a sushi container from the supermarket. Would I go out of my way to come to this place? No. But being 2 blocks away from my house I will most likely try it again. (follow up review: both my wife and I are experiencing some abdominal cramping and taking turns in the restroom. Not sure what caused this, but I'm concerned now that it might have been bad fish)

Randomly yelped a nearby sushi spot post workout and we were really glad we came here! We had: +spicy tuna salad: topped with SO MUCH sashimi, loved it! +poke salad: really tasty, loved it even more! +Philly roll: standard and delicious +chicken bowl: standard and also delicious Our server was very attentive and friendly. We will return!

Came here after a long day at disneyland. Customer service was great and the variety was awesome. The waiter answered all of our questions with no problem. Place was very clean. You can't beat free miso soup. We got the crunch roll which was huge and the shrimp killer which was equally huge and really good. We also got the bbq beef bowl. I didn't care too much for the salad inside but the meat was perfectly cooked and the rice was bomb.gov If we're ever in the area again, we'll be stopping by.

Not the best experience for my first time trying this establishment. Ordered the baked white fish roll and it was covered in cheddar cheese? Not tasty at all. We asked the sushi chef (owner) about the roll and she refused to replace it with something we would like. She then asked us to at least pay half which we refused considering we had only 1 bite. Asked for the check and left after that. There are less than 10 tables in the restaurant and 2 servers who couldn't keep up. I would not recommended this place. Very sad to see the OWNER could care less and was very tight. Why contribute to such an establishment?

My bf and I just left this place after waiting 20 min to get seated...let me start of by saying that we'd rather have shitty service and good food rather than good service and bad food...this place just had bad food and bad service. We ordered the salmon which was ok and ten min later the OMG roll came out -I immediately spit it out- it was gross, I've had bad sushi but never to the point of spitting it back out. We asked our server for the bill and to take that nasty roll off the tab and the owner(I'm assuming is the chef lady) refused to take it off because the ingredients were expensive.I could understand if we hate half of it but it was disgusting and she even asked how it was when she noticed we weren't eating it. Needless to say we paid for what we consumed but DO NOT get the omg roll. It was disgusting...and everything is frozen On the upside, the beer was good. Then again, it's really difficult to phuck up bottled beer. To the chef/owner: if you don't want expensive ingredients thrown out and lose money than maybe you should reevaluate your roll and make it edible...but hey, what do my taste buds know.

The sushi chef is grumpy. But my spider roll tasted better than I expected, so was my green tea, and so was my green tea ice cream. I have had one place make a better spider roll, but they charge like four more dollars. The dessert here while not anything unusual, looks pretty and taste good and you'll eat it fast. This place is above average, but not the best. The atmosphere is pretty nice and romantic. Could go here for a hot date.

  • Janet N.

This place WAS my go to for 2 years until... They STUFFED imitation crab meat into my SALMON SKIN HAND ROLL. There isn't supposed to be ANY imitation crab meat. There was BARELY any salmon skin! 40% rice, 40% imitation crab meat, 9% seaweed, 11% salmon skin, 0% veggies. Don't get me started on the udon. They killed it by overdosing it with mirin- our soup was SWEET. Ugh. WHO FUCKED UP AND HIRED THE CHEF????

I absolutely love this place! We have been coming here for a couple years now and it is always amazing! The food is delicious and always fresh. But what keeps us coming back is the excellent service! We recognize everyone now and they could not be sweeter or more accommodating. You will not be disappointed!

This place is incredible, the food is delicious and they have complimentary strawberries with whip cream to end your meal. Great environment, I recommend the energy roll it's fresh and delicious. Mine and my friends new favorite sushi place! And we love that they stay open till midnight.

This place has awesome, affordable sushi! We ordered the baked scallop roll, the red blossom roll, and the ninja roll. All three were delicious. The free strawberries and whipped cream at the end was a nice little touch. I highly recommend the red blossom roll, it was my favorite of our three selections.

This review was from a dine-in about a week ago and this is my first visit In the mood for sushi, I decided to check out this place a block away from my apartment. Small parking lot and you couldn't tell much from the outside. But once you walk in, wow! It's small but in a nice intimate way, and dimly-lit to set the mood. Not crowded at the time so it was pretty peaceful too. I was a party of one and wanted to eat at the bar (as I usually do at sushi places). Only big enough for two sushi chefs- small staff overall, I only saw my one waitress and someone helping in the back. Anyways, it looked like they don't have an AYCE special ( I didn't ask) but started ordering some sushi and one of their specialty rolls. Waitress offered miso soup as well, and even brought over some edamame- for free! Sushi chefs were very polite, and while there was only one waitress, she checked up on me often enough. And then free strawberries with whipped cream at the end. Price was very reasonable, especially with bonus miso soup and edamame. I wouldn't exactly recommend this place for a huge group (unless you can rent it out.haha) but I thought it was great service, food, and ambiance all around.

Sushi was ok. Service was less than expected for a small establishment. I find it baffling to order sushi in English only. The staff is not familiar with Japanese names for the rolls and dishes being served.

Pros: still trying to find atleast one Cons: Fish was not fresh at all, it looked like it had been in the freezer for 2 weeks and was still frozen when they served it. The salmon and abalcore were so frozen than when I picked it up with my chop sticks it remained completely still without even bending. The taste was like eating a freezer burned piece of meat. Rolls were beyong plain. Fake crab meat and siracha mixed together only for the mexican roll to start off our dinner. Wait time for rolls was atleast 15mins for each roll. Thats because they fill all the tables with people and have you order your food. Obviously once you order your commited to stay. I realized that after waiting 15-20mins for first plain roll and i looked around and i saw everyone else with only water waiting for food. Smart sneaky tactic from the owner/chef. Is not a buffet: all you can eat even though its still advertised in their yelp account. And their 4 stars rating was obtained when it was all you can eat several years back. So i asked the only waitress working the restaurant to confirm and she told me they were not all you can eat and their "Yelp account is old" and "well update it." Appereantly from reviews they sucker you in with this false all you can eat claim and say they need to update their account. After 15-20mins we recived our first roll. The roll consisted of fake crab meat mixed with siracha sauce. Thats it. Next was the avocado roll. Rice with a piece of avacado in the middle, thats it. The rest of the rolls were the same, plain as can be. Do yourself the favor and stay away from this place. No wonder they had no wait time compared to the 1.5 hour wait time at Odore sushi restaurant 1/2 mile away.

The place ever to have sushi and you can also make your own sushi. Their service and customer service is one of the best couldn't be more happier. They are very friendly and offer complimentary things. Best shush I place in Orange County

My boyfriend and I love this place! We've been coming here for almost two years. Everything is delicious! When you first come in they always greet you. They ask if you'd like Miso soup (it's 1$). They do bring out a bowl of edamame before your meal and it's free. The prices are pretty good for the portion you get. My absolute favorite is the Caterpillar Roll because I love Avocado and I feel I really get my money's worth! When you are done and they bring the bill they also bring out a nice little plate with strawberries and cream! I'd recommend Sushi Dake to Anyone in the area, my experience there is always a good one!

All my friends have been talking this place up and I happen to live just a street away from here, so I decided to give it a shot. I came here with my other half on a slow night. The restaurant is quite dim with a few tables. I ordered the tempura udon and he got the beef one. We also got a salmon roll. The free miso soup and edamame was nice, but the other food was sub par at best. All of our dishes were just covered in sesame seeds. I was not impressed with the udon as the noodles seemed like they had been frozen. My bf's beef was rubbery and had a grayish color to it. Not to mention he found an eyelash or some type of hair on his plate. The tempura lacked any flavor. The roll also tasted strange like nothing on it was fresh. At the end, we were given a plate of strawberries and whipped cream. With the check clocking in at more than $40, we will not be coming back. I expected some fresh ingredients or at least some quality to the food at that price. I was really hoping to find a decent sushi place without having to go all the way to Little Tokyo. The search continues!

I am always in the mood for sushi! I came here last night with a friend for dinner. I got one of the udon combos, which comes with a bowl of udon and 4 pieces of sashimi. I normally don't get udon, but it was a cold night and I was craving something hot. While we waited for our food, we were given a bowl of edamame. They were warm and slightly salted, super tasty! Finally, our bowls of udon came out and they were a lot bigger than I thought they would be. I thought the udon was really good. The noodles were thick and chewy and the broth was hot and satisfying. I really enjoyed it. My sashimi was also really good. I think the fish were tuna, salmon, red snapper, and yellowtail or albacore? Hey, I'm no sushi expert! I just eat it! I thought they were all good, soft and buttery. I also got to try my friend's yellowtail collar. One bite in and I was already regretting my decision. The collar was so good! Why did I not know of your existence until now?! Next time, next time. Service was polite, but slow. It took my friend forever to flag someone down for more water. At the end, we just left the money on the table and left because no one came by to pick it up. The place was on the small side, but cozy. Prices were pretty average. Overall, I had a good time. If I'm in no rush, I'll definitely be back. That collar got me hooked!

sushi DAKE: Delicious Authentic Kind Especially service. I forget the acronym, but it was something like that. Quality of this place was just okay. All I can say is that it is slighty above average. so B-. Which is a 4 out of 5, but it was not amazing. the size and quality of the rolls is similar to that of AYCE places, so I'm not too sure. Then again, I hear that the freshest sushi is Friday or Saturday, and I did not come on those 2 days, so maybe that was my mistake. Sorry. Peace and grace.

  • Hanna K.

For the price, the fish is pretty good! My bf & I shared a sashimi combo (20pcs) w/ a side of rice & a albacore roll. That was enough food for us. I'm not really going to comment on service because I came in with a group of 8 on a Sunday night an hour before closing... The one server working there tried her best, and that's all I'm going to say about that lol Otherwise, I thought the food was good. I would come back if I needed a quick, affordable sushi fix.

My favorite place! Fish tastes extremely fresh, friendly service, and never a long wait. the rolls are always well filled and they never skimp on the avocado or fish. I usually order for pick up and it's always perfect, but when I dine in the vibe inside is really relaxing. My favorites are the philidelphia roll or dynamite roll.

Very friendly service. Went later in the night, but it was crowded with a very large group. We were seated promptly and they made our order priority because the groups order was so large that it would've taken forever if we had to wait. The food came quick and was very good. Great all around little restaurant.

Been here a few times because I live near the restaurant. Always friendly staff and great tasting sushi. Usually go with a party of 4+ so we order a bunch of rolls and just split the bill so its not too pricey. Rolls always taste fresh and the servers are always nice. Would definitely recommend trying this little hole in the wall sushi place.

Nothing too remarkable about this sushi place. It is kind of small but was pretty empty when I came here with two friends. Even though there was only one other table there while we were ordering and eating our waitress seemed a little preoccupied and we had to remind her about certain dishes and an incorrect roll was made so that seemed a little odd to me. She also didn't come to check up on us during the meal to see how everything was and it seemed to be because there were only three workers there: her, the sushi chef (I don't know what you call them, my bad!) and a manager-type lady who also made a few rolls. The sushi was alright but nothing really stood out to any of us to make the meal memorable.

So this place was more of a 3.5 Star but I rounded this one up because of service. Also FREE miso and edamame! My girlfriend and I were looking for some late night sushi and this place was open till midnight so it was convenient. Service was very good for me just had maybe a sense one of my servers was a trainee with her timid behavior. We had the Golden California Roll, Baked Lobster Roll, and Fried Philly Roll. The deep fried selection was delicious and tempura batter had just the right crispness, flavor, and bite to it. I just feel there was an over bearing amount of cheese on my Baked Lobster Roll but still very delicious. Also, I always look for good eel sauce and this place delivered one! Finished our meal with the Green Tea Ice Cream which was delicious but wish it was had more of a creamy factor to it. Awesome place for some very late night So Cal sushi!

I love the fact that they have make your own sushi, you get to choose what kind of wrap you want (cucumber / soy / seaweed), you get to choose what you want inside and outside of the roll with a pretty decent size selection. M.Y.O.S. (my order): Seaweed roll. Inside (softshell crab / spicy yellowtail / cucumber) & Outside (unagi & avocado), topped with unagi sauce. ---- you're welcome (haha) They also have this off the menu salad that we ALWAYS get, I know I'm going to butcher this, but it's sort of pronounced as (hae-de-bop). It's basically a sashimi salad with a side of rice and you mix it in with this korean sauce (I think it's the same sauce used in a bimbimbap). It's definitely a game changer. Service is great and the staff is very friendly. You start off with miso soup and edamame and you end the meal with strawberries and whip cream.

I'm recently new to this and I have been coming here for three years I love this little sushi place. It's small petite and amiable. The staff is great! Gloria the sushi maker is the friendliest and the new waiter John is amazing he listens and knows what you want I have an even greater experience now. The ambience is calming and chill perfect for bringing your family to a cute little date. Plus they are open late till midnight every night but Sunday. Enjoy!

I was in the area and craving sushi as usual so I decided to try this place out. I've been here twice now and it's my to-go sushi place when I'm in anaheim. They give you complimentary edamae and miso soup. Veggie Roll-very basic roll. if you want to order a veggie roll the avocado one is way better Spicy Tuna- I always have to order this whenever I go out to get sushi. the tuna tasted fresh Red Dragon-soo good, spicy tuna onto of a california roll. MMM must get. I'll be ordering this every time i come Fire Cracker- Has shrimp tempura in it, my friend got this one and said it was just okay. it's a pretty heavy roll and comes with sauce on top which we didn't know. Rainbow Roll- My other favorite roll, the fish is selected by the chef that day They even give a complimentary dessert at the end which is fresh strawberries and whipped cream. The staff is friendly and this place is open till late which is a plus! I'll definitely be coming back here whenever I'm in the area.

I am by no means a sushi snob. I prefer crazy rolls with a bunch of ingredients rather than nigiri and sashimi. Luckily, this place caters to those people like me. My friend and I came here last week and split four rolls: Mexican, Spicy Tuna, Sexy Roll, and the Eel roll. Honestly, they were all really good. The eel one was probably the most 'ordinary' in terms of flavors, but everything tasted fresh and portions were very generous - especially considering the prices. They also have free edamame, miso soup and strawberries and cream for dessert. Service was good as well. I'd come back!

We did like this place since moving to Anaheim from the Bay Area. We ordered our food (took 20 min): bento meal for my fiancé and 2 sushi rolls for me. Bento came out about 20 minutes later. Waited for an HOUR till we got our first sushi roll. My fiancé started eating his food about 15 minutes after we got it. I told him he didn't have to wait for me. He ate slowly and stopped to wait. He felt bad. A walk in take out came to order sushi. They received their food 20 minutes before my FIRST roll came. I asked about my roll, they said it's next. I was over it by then. We told them to cancel the order, they argued that it was already done but they still haven't given it to me. The sushi chef was lying. We were sitting at the bar and clearly saw nothing made. By the way, I ordered a special roll and a spicy tuna roll. it was not busy that night with 2 sushi chefs. The servers had the the nerve to try and correct me by saying that the bento box came out first cause no one else ordered anything to cook. No matter what business you work in, you don't try and correct the customer but try and understand why they were upset. Sorry, but I won't be coming back.

I don't eat at sushi restaurants a lot bc I don't eat sushi. But today was my Gf's bday and she wanted sushi so after a long day on disneyland we decided to check out this place. The service from the beginning was great! Soooo much better then oshima in Tustin. I got the special beef plate and the miso and salad was tasteful while the beef and rice was very flavorful! I can't say too much about the sushi but what I can say is the portion for my Gf's handrolls was bigger then others. She liked her spicy salmon... We will definitely be back whenever she has a craving for sushi bc I would like to try the chicken teriyaki. The only thing is it was kinda long to get the check. We are normally in and out with our meals, meaning we eat fast and leave. Also noticed that people on yelp received edamame and dessert but we didn't. :(

I have nothing negative to say about this little sushi spot! We aren't from the area so we took a shot in the dark and decided to try it. We dined there tonight and they were extremely friendly and attentive. Our server was a doll! My boyfriend is a chef and is very hard to please.. But he loved it! We had edemame, miso soup, spicy scallop, spicy yellowfin, and the golden California roll. We were so pleased and would recommend it to anyone. Can't wait to come back to California and dine there again!

Can't complain about the food, it's cheap and you get what you pay for. The only reason this isn't a 4 star review is because of the owner. Sever was sweet and made sure we were doing well. A plate came out tasting bad and I asked them to change it. The owner tells the server that it's how they make it and wouldn't do anything about it.i used to be a sushi chef and I know when something is bad. Either way you get what you pay for but there are tons of other places you can eat at around the same price.

Great food, great service, open late, all sum up to five stars for me. Btw there is a Vietnamese waitress that look so lovely. Anyone knows her FB that I can have :((((

I love this place. The ambiance is great. It's small and has a romantic vibe. If you dine in you get free edamame and strawberries for dessert. You can call and place an order for pick up which is great! For some reason they are very strange about the menu being available to the public. They won't give you a menu Togo, and when I've taken pictures if the menu and posted it on yelp they removed them. Great sushi and miso soup. I love the sesame chicken too.

Last night was my first time visiting the restaurant. The decor was okay, it was not huge, but had plenty of seats, small tables, and a sushi bar-with only one chef. We got there a little later than others in our group, and they went ahead and ordered before us (total party of 8-6 adults, 2 small kids). The decor was nice; dark but clean. I liked the parasols hanging from the ceilings as light fixtures. We seated ourselves with our party, but it took forever for someone to come by to take a drink order. And then it took even longer to get our drinks. From the time we sat down, it took about 20 minutes to get our drinks. But the waiter left right away without taking food our order. We actually didn't get a chance to order food till they started bringing out the orders that were made before we got there-by then we were already sitting there about a half hour(everyone else got there like 15-20 minutes before us), so it took forever from ordering to get out the sushi. The chef kind of took our order when she dropped off one of the plates..kind of, we said one item, we weren't finished ordering before she said OK and left. It wasn't rude, she was just really busy looking. The waiter was bringing a plate right afterward so I stopped him before he left and asked him if we could order. The chef told him she hasn't started our order yet, so we canceled the family boat we asked her for. We ordered two love boats. I wanted to make my own roll and knew what I wanted, but he gave me a marker to check what I wanted on the form, and then he left again, and about 5 minutes passed before I realized he wasn't coming back to pick it up and there was no marker cap, and I didn't want to leave it on the table so I was holding it the whole time. I walked over to hand it to him, he was rolling silverware or something and chatting with someone. I don't know what you're supposed to do if you want to order more than one custom roll, because it seemed like that sheet was made for one roll at a time and they never returned it. But no one was around to answer questions, so I let it be. He had told me before I could pick 3-4 items each for my roll. I chose spicy scallops on the inside, and salmon and avocado on the outside with orange sauce (spicy mayo). The roll tasted awesome, but there was no avocado on it. The love boats didn't come on a boat, but I was just glad they offered some type of larger plate for groups, most other places we go to lack that. The rolls that came with it were out first, and it took less time to get those than the initial order. Besides the two loveboats, which wasn't enough for everyone, we had several orders of many different types of fish. All of them tasted fresh and good. Also, the two love boats had different fish on each one. One plate had tamago sushi on it (cooked egg), while the other had shrimp. I would liked the same for each, because I would've preferred all seafood. Getting a drink refill was impossible till another server came into work, even then, she only came by once and only refilled my hot tea pot. Some adults ordered beers, and getting them to bring more bottles of beer was easier than getting tea and water. My child ran out of water and I had to give him my daughter's because water was actually never refilled. We never received any edamame and we had to request miso soup. For our group of 8, they only brought out 4 miso soup before our first order came out. When the second waitress showed up, near the middle of our meal, we asked for miso soup for the other 4 adults in our group. She brought it out fairly quickly that time. Other tables had edamame, but we did not. So, the fish was good, but the service was very slow and inattentive. For Korean sushi, the price was decent, but I feel like I pay a lot less for more food and better service at one of the ayce or even one of the other regular Korean sushi places closer to home. I spent close to three hundred dollars here (including tip), and I'm not satisfied i had the quality and service to match that price for the amount we ordered. It must be good for smaller groups, because it did get pretty busy in there for a Thursday night and it seemed they had some regulars because people were saying "see you next week," as they left. The service wasn't rude, just wildly disorganized and probably understaffed. We were there around 2 1/2-3 hours, but most of the time was spent waiting for our food. If you are just looking for a comfortable spot to pass the time while you leisurely wait for your food, this is it. But if you're hungry, I'd go someplace else.

Heard rave reviews about this place. Tucked in the middle of Buena Park/Cypress. Walk in and the decor is cute and very typical sushi joint layout. Service was mediocre, took the server a bit of time to get to us when it was just me and my cousin and a large party of ten people or so next to us. Sushi was so-so. Had one roll of sashimi which was delicious, perfect amount of soy sauce. The roll was okay. I was trying my best to give this place a good rating but sushi is just like any other place. Sushi was good but the service can be better. Only reason I stopped by was because this place was opened a little later than my other regular sushi joint that I frequent.

I don't eat sushi but hands down best rolls in oc! Decent price but better when they use to be 50% off that's how I tried this place in the first place. The crunch roll though... got me hooked! And I mean HOOKED! Made me a loyal customer over 5 years already! I also got my sister hooked on this joint. I would give them 5 stars but I'm not feeling there new employees! 1 tried giving me a hard time making me wait for my to go order when she had told me 10 minutes.. And another tried to make me wait 25 mins for a roll. Really? Just for 1 roll? But besides that I don't get my crunch roll anywhere else.

This place is very good! We order a rainbow roll and spicy tuna roll and everything was fresh! They are open till midnight, but keep in mind they stop making food at 11:45. The best part is they have complimentary miso soap and edaname as well as strawberries and whipped cream for dessert! Can't beat that! It's nice to have a sushi place near us open late! We will definitely be coming back!

When I first found out about this place through yelp, I was pretty excited because while there are a lot of sushi places near where I reside, they're mostly mediocre, mostly. When I found Sushi Dake on Lincoln and Dale, I looked it up, and my eyes lit up. I was really excited to try it. I went with my man on Saturday night at around 7pm, and we were promptly seated. It was pretty empty inside. It's strange, being that it was located in a little strip mall, that when you walked in, you were transformed by the captivating motif and rich color scheme. This was a very pretty restaurant, to say the least. We ordered 4 rolls, they came with miso soup, edamame, and a strawberries and whipped cream dessert. Our rolls were delicious and filling, which was surprising considering the fact that it usually takes a lot of sushi to fill me up. They also have create your own rolls, which seem pretty fun. My only complaint about this place was when I ordered my mochi ice cream (one green tea and one mango), the green tea mochi was hard and not properly thawed. It was pretty disgusting, so I didn't eat it. The mango, on the other hand, was quite delicious.

My best friend and I are visiting from out of town and we wanted sushi. Yelped and found this place. The food itself wasn't bad. The service is ehh. I'm a big water drinker and we were at Disneyland all day and first of all the waitress didn't fill up my glass all the way and ow as left with an empty glass of water halfway through my meal. My friend wasn't happy with the fried rolls and wasn't able to eat them. We asked for them to be taken off the bill since she wasn't happy with them. And the owner of the restaurant persistently kept saying you ordered them. And we told her yes we did but she thought they would taste different. We then talked to the waitress again and she was like i don't know what to do. I then told her she should take those two rolls off the bill since it is not fair for us to pay for something we didn't eat. And I'm talking only had half a roll each. She then said well she might make me pay for it. What type of owner/employer does that. But she then agreed and said she would take it off the bill. Right before the bill came back the waitress then corrected herself and said she could only take off one roll. Honestly coming from a place of work where we return already eaten/empty product everyday dealing with this bullshit is crazy. After a long day at Disneyland all we wanted to do was have a nice meal. But instead we got horrible service. I know everyone's experience isn't the same. But I wanted to share a little part of my first and last time here.

$19.95 lunch, $24.95 dinner gets you 4 orders of "all-you-can-eat" sushi and other stuff. Screw that. TIP: on sw corner in same intersection is a true AYCE sushi place. Cheaper!

this place is super cheap and i go here when i'm too lazy to go anywhere further to get rolls. it is definitely not fine dining but it does the job of satisfying my cravings. I can basically walk here and be lazy, which is definitely the best thing.

We were extremely disappointed with out experience at Sushi Dake. We chose to come here since our usual place (Joe's Sushi) down the street was full. The decor was nice, but it was mysteriously dead for a Saturday night when we arrived. We ordered our food and when it arrived I was disappointed to find that my Chirashi bowl only had 4 sashimi-portion slices of fish total, and two pieces of egg tomago. However, I was willing to forgive this as our cut rolls began to arrive. The sushi was difficult to eat because it was packed loosely, but the favors were passable. However, any allowances I had made went out the door when our "Dragon Roll" arrived. We specifically asked for the Dragon Roll on their menu because it listed "Broiled Eel on top of Eel roll" for $11.99 (see photo) but we received eel on top of a California roll. I pointed this out to the waitress and she told us that was what an Eel Roll was and there was no way she could take it back. When I physically pointed out the error on the menu, she said they would change their menu but we still had to pay for our bait-and-switch roll. She then tried to convince me they gave me the same amount of eel and they "sliced it thicker". Yeah right. At that point it was evident that we were getting nowhere despite THEIR error and I gave up. At the end of the meal we did receive our two strawberries and Reddi Whip "free", but I did notice they used the same knives for cutting their fish when they cut the fruit. Needless to say, I deducted the price of the imposter roll from the tip and we will not be returning.

Wanna rock the locals sushi spot? Come to Sushi Dake! This place is the ultimate hole in the wall sushi spot. Very fresh ingredients and friendly family style service. Everything we ordered at the sushi bar was prepared very quickly directly in front of us with the use of the best sushi ingredients. We will be coming back.

Ghetto outside... But pretty inside. Edam and miso soup included. Decent rolls for lunch. Probably a good choice for fake sushi eaters. Yes I mentioned fake! You got the cut rolls, the baked and cooked rolls.... all decent. So why so high of reviews? HAVE YOU SEEN THE PRICES??? 50% off sushi, sashimi and rolls!!! Personally I never get 50% sashimi, but I don't mind filling up on others if I'm hungry and really don't prefer eating a burger. Any raw you get in your cut roll, don't worry... its still pretty fresh. Definitely not a stomach food place.....those places are called Joes Sushi, or other ayce places haha Haven't tried any baked rolls, and the eel cut rolls weren't drenched with sauce like other bad sushi places. Parking lots, empty plaza with random ghetto run down stores. Once you walk in, whooooa its a change. Would I come here again? YES! Why because its close to work. But would I drive here just to get this place NO! Mom and Pops shop, come support...it'll be worth it. Lots of food for cheap! Don't expect this place to be legit sushi, its fake sushi...but if thats what you crave, you'll love their prices! What can I say, sometimes I just want some bad food....its not the best and its fake, but its simple.

All these reviews make me feel crazy, or said for the people in Anaheim. I normally pickup sushi in the Fullerton/Brea area, but needed to get a quick dinner after work in Anaheim. I stopped here because of the great rating. Take out - Awkward. You are rushed in and sat at a table smack in the middle of the room to fill out an order sheet. Everyone stares at you, including staff. I would have ordered ahead if they had a menu available online. Since this was my first time here I went with all safe choices: Firecracker - Nothing to write home about, actually I have nothing to even yelp about. Average would be putting it nicely. Not flavor, no spice. Baked Salmon - Now this was not too bad. Keep in mind I had not eating all day at it was 10:00pm. It was a different take on sushi because it was cooked, so I liked that. Impossible to eat though because it is burnt to the foil, and rips apart when you try to pick it up. Mexican Roll - Something with at least a little spice. Every other roll was like eating butter. Again though it was extremely small and bland. Sriracha can't help everything. Service was kind of slow in my opinion. Even keeping in mind that it is sushi. I had enough time to sit, return some calls, and sit some more. NO SIDES - This is disappointing when you want a little variety besides rolls, salad, or ramen. They don't have any exciting little dishes. I believe those three rolls came out to about $35. Mexican was extremely small, and the others were so-so. I still truly wonder if we are all talking about the same place...

I only went and ordered takeout from them, but The venue looked pretty nice. The food was pretty good but not the best sushi I've ever had. For the price, it was worth it.

Very good experience. I usually go to Sushi Dake late at night, almost always via take out. Overall, each roll has been delicious. Absolutely no complaints. The restaurant has a counter top where you could order and watch the rolls being made. There are also tables and a descent dining area. The take out orders come with wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce. The rolls are a good portion size. There are a variety of rolls and prices. I've had the following rolls: - Fried Philadelphia Roll - Shrimp Roll - Shrimp Killer Roll - Spider Roll - Avocado Roll - Baked Salmon Roll - Baked Scallop Roll If you like sushi, then this place is definitely worth a try. They are open late enough that you might be able to satisfy that late night craving.

I can't say anything about the nigiri(sushi), but the rolls were good. Nothing to write home about though. The wife and I shared the baked scallop roll and some tuna/salmon roll. The interior is nice too. Clean and quiet, the way a sushi restaurant should be. My only complaint is the service. After the waitress cleared our empty plates, we sat for a while waiting for the check. If you know I'm done eating, why not bring me the check instead of letting me sit there for 15 minutes?? I finally managed to get her attention, but it was a little frustrating.

The server Jenny is incredibly patient with all my questions and has the ultimate soothing voice. Create your own sushi was awesome! + Wonderful Atmosphere + Free Miso + Free Edamame [I think it's so cheap when places charge for Edamame and Miso! I appreciated that these were included] + Create your own Sushi Roll! + Decently priced But the best was our server. She was awesome! Attentive, patient, and had the voice of a soothing grandmother. I would definitely come back.

Went here last night and was pretty disappointed. The selection of sushi was decent, the even have a make your own option but it was all overpriced. We ordered the catapillar roll which was $11.99. The roll was okay at best. There was barely any eel in it and the siracha on the top was overpowering. We also ordered two bowls, one beef teriyaki and one salmon teriyaki. These were reasonably priced and were actually large servings. However the food was a little bland on my part and for my friend's bowl - it was drenched in sauce. The server came by a few times but we ended up waiting a long time for the check to come. I made several attempts to flag her down. My friend and I agreed that we would not be coming back. But if you're drunk and looking for a bite other than Taco Bell past 10 pm then this might be your place. They even give you free small appetizers and dessert!

Updating my review since I've been here a couple more times and I think my first time was just an off night. Last time I went I had the bento with chefs pick sushi and sashimi...YUMMO...and the muscles I ordered were so yummy. The staff was very sweet and accommodating and even gave us a free little dessert :)

Was craving sushi after a long day at Disney, and yelped this place that was open late. Upon entering we were greeted and seated quickly. This place is small and homey, pretty romantic and quaint. They had soothing music in the background and wasn't like those big loud sushi restaurants with everyone yelling everywhere. Good for dates and small dinners for conversation. Service was on point and polite throughout dinner. -Complementary miso soup & edamames -Complementary strawberries at the end of the meal. -The sushi was good as expected, everything fresh and the prices we're alright. Overall this is a great little sushi place that's open late in Anaheim. I'd recommend this place if you were in the area.

Everything is perfect. The food is perfect and at a very good price. The help is phenominal. Everything, everything, everything. Except they serve soda cans. I understand, you don't drink soda with sushi. Whatever, people do, we all did, we everyone who ate at Sushi Dake that night. Soda is an important thing to me so that is why it's a 4 star review for me. For you though, if you don't care about soda, consider it a 5. I seriously seriously love this place.

This is our go to spot for my boyfriend and I, not only because the sushi is fresh and delicious, but it opens till 12am! Our late night sushi cravings are satisfied because of this place. It's a nice cozy place and the lights are dim which gives it a very romantic feel. So many rolls to choose from and you get the option of creating your own roll. How genius is that? Definitely one of my favorite sushi spots that I will continue to go to!

Quiet little location. It's not as bad a some of the reviews have said. I'm writing this review after my 2nd visit to this location. Yes, it's a quiet small spot kinda hidden from view in a small plaza off of Lincoln in Anaheim. Sushi. I've never had bad sushi here. I've tried the rolls and even the sashimi. Nothing tasted bad or had an odd smell. The waitress was really patient and got everything to us quiet fast. I would mos def come back because they are one of the few sushi locations that are actually open til 12.

I was very impressed with the service and food. The edamame (sp?) at the beginning and strawberries and whip cream at the end made us feel like they really appreciate their customers. Our waitress was very polite and sweet. First sushi place I have gotten a chance to try since returning to the LA area and we loved it! The sushi was delicious as was the avocado salad! The place is small but the set up is nice!

I decided to try this place last night, I read other peoples reviews to get a good head start on what I should get and what to avoid. I went with the rollsshe cause no one can go wrong with that. I got: Ninja roll : good roll, a little on the sweet side with the sauce on top. Baked lobster roll : tasty Dake roll : pretty good. the tea was good but they could add more leaves. Service was great, the waitress was super polite. I highly recommend it.

Searching for a new sushi spot since our favorite weekly place (Yuki Sushi) had to close. We want to keep it local so we found Sushi Dake on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It's located in a small strip mall & the inside is tiny with about 7-8 tables and seats at the sushi bar. Service here is very friendly - we were checked on frequently and everything came out in a timely fashion. They give you free miso soup and edamame to start which is also very nice. =) The food itself is just OK though. Some items I thought were good - others I would not order again but nothing stood out as fantastic. The Food: -Sesame chicken appetizer: it did not have the battered coating I am used to but it was pretty good. -Salmon teriyaki was not that great...had a really fishy taste & smell to it and lots of bones left in it as well. -Salmon & yellowtail sashimi: you get about 4-5 slices for a good price; quality was good -Spicy tuna handroll: not spicy enough & did not like the drizzle of mayo-sauce on it either -Spicy scallop handroll: really spicy...burned my tongue with the level of heat but too much sauce -Dragon roll: Just OK....fairly large but a lot of California roll; eel on top was good -Fred roll: spicy tuna inside w/salmon & tuna outside; I really liked this one - the best one we tried for the evening The portion sizes here are a little small but the prices match them well. At the end of the meal they gave us some sliced strawberries w/ whipped cream. I would consider going again because they were nice & they have the option of creating your own roll but I am not in a hurry.

Pretty nice sushi place, the atmosphere is very nice and pretty as well. The service was excellent and the waitress were very helpful! The Nigiri was DELICIOUS, I only had the Tuna and the Salmon and I can assure you the Salmon is just so so so so so so gooooood!!! The tuna was also very good, but make sure you get the salmon! Their rolls were pretty delicious as well, it wasn't drenched in sauce and the California roll inside didn't overpower the flavor. Price is fair for how much they give you in this sushi place, would definitely come back here again when i'm craving late night sushi!

My new favorite restaurant in Anaheim! Service is outstanding. Sushi is very good quality. I am not a big fan of baked rolls, but this place has me converted. Baked lobster and baked scallop rolls are my favorite. I have eaten there multiple times and it doesn't disappoint.

Not too shabby. The sushi rolls here tastes like a sushi roll. The beer tastes like beer. The beer glasses you receive will also be random. Some may be chilled, some may be smooth, other's could be rigid. Really hard to say. It's a good place to eat regardless. I recommend.

Went back again, still just as awesome. Took my brother this time, hyped up the Energy Roll, and he loved it just as much as I did/do! Mexican Roll is still spicy and amazing as a handroll. Even when out of season, strawberry with whipped cream is still served as dessert. A little pricey, but delicious rolls.

I have to say I love this place, and am bummed I'm moving to Fountain Valley soon so I won't be able to come here as much. A few things to understand about this place, it's very small, it's family run, and it gets PACKED often. Just know when to arrive. Make a reservation, or stop in early on the weekends. When it's packed the service does lack, but the food more than makes up for it. When my boyfriend and I go we are usually served by a sweet girl, not sure her name, and she's the best server there. She also knows to give my boyfriend a fork :o) The sushi is very tasty, and they also give you free edamame, and for dessert you get strawberries and cream. For all the negative reviewers, especially about the service, it takes a lot of energy to run a restaurant, and since they are family owned they don't always have a full staff. The place is so small that trying to get someone's attention isn't very hard, and the prices, ambience, and food more than make up for the lack of service if it happens at all. Definitely check them out, weeknights are best since the last few times we tried to eat there, people were lined up out the door trying to get in. They have risen in popularity and I'm so happy for them, the place is great.

My fiance and I love this restaurant. The fish is fresh and the rolls are delicious. We've been coming here for a very long time so the owners know us :) We love coming here and we're not local. Our favorite roll is the OMGosh roll. We also like the option where you can make your own roll, that's always fun. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is because the restaurant is a bit small wish it was a little bigger.

One thing is that it is open late night! Second there Philadelphia roll and bento box meals are very good! I recommend the salmon and chicken fried. Not to mention im a salad person...love the way the asian dressing tastes at this spot. A simple strawberry dessert..edamame...and miso soup free or say goes with the order..not bad at all. Def. a spot we will visit again. We were filled happy!

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I REPEAT, **********8TAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY AWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY **********!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ordered a "build your own roll", and selected "baked". Now, I've been to many sushi restaurants and when they say "baked roll", it usually means, mayonnaise sauce, and baked until the sauce is a little burnt. Now, when i received the roll, i noticed the entire roll was covered in cheese. I am lactose intolerant so i can't consume cheese. So i called the waiter over, but instead, the owner came over, so i told her, "excuse me, but this has cheese in it, i am lactose intolerant. i wasn't aware it would have cheese in the roll". She responded with "Oh, baked roll, all cheese". Her English was terrible with a thick accent. I said, "well i didn't know it would have dairy considering your menu doesn't state "dairy". She continued with "baked roll, all cheese". I said, "well, i want to cancel this order and get a new order". So she takes away the cheese roll then hands me a menu, and while i was reading the menu, i felt kind of full, considering i just finished a California roll. So i told her, "I'm not going to order anything else, i just want the check". Now, this sushi place is Korean owned, and i heard the owner speaking in Korean to the waiter, "charge him for the cheese roll, we can't throw it away, just charge him". So the waiter comes up to me and says "sorry, but we have to charge you half, regardless of you not even touching it". I said "Um, well, your menu is misleading, and it's not my fault i am lactose intolerant". He then says "you should have told us about your food allergy". I responded with "normally people don't think dairy products in a sushi restaurant, so telling your waiter your allergic to dairy wouldn't be the first thing on my list when entering a sushi restaurant". He then says "sorry, but we have to charge you". So, they took the baked roll away, charged me for the roll that i didn't even get to to-go home to have someone else eat, that i didn't even touch because i am lactose intolerant and the menu is misleading, the owner is extremely RUDE and doesn't understand English since everything she said to the waiter was in Korean, and i happen to understand Korean. STAY AWAY from this place, it's dirty, the owner is rude and the rolls are expensive. The service is extremely slow. I waited 10 minutes for my drink, 20 minutes for my roll, and another 15 minutes just to receive my check, and the place was dead so there is no reason to be that slow.... Save your gas, and your money, you can find plenty of other delicious sushi restaurants in Orange County, for example, Osaka in Brea or Orange Sushi in Fullerton. Those places are a lot cleaner then this dump and both Osaka and Orange Sushi are friendly and inviting. SO TO ALL SUSHI GOERS, *****STAY AWAY FROM THIS DUMP!!!!!!!!!!***** Save your money and your time. I will NEVER come back again!!!!!

I don't understand why this place has bad reviews. Maybe the staff is rotating so I always have the good fortune of going on a good staff day? :) They are super friendly, food is served quickly (like right after sake and beer, even before I can half-finish my small beer glass). They have never messed up my order. The sashimi is fresh and tasty. My dad always forgets what he likes and asks for descriptions each time we go, but the waitresses always patiently answer him. The ambiance is great because no loud music or harsh lighting. They are open late. Complimentary edemame, miso soup and strawberry+whipped cream dessert. I really like everything about this place and come here often with family.

Before I begin, there is one thing you need to know. The sign outside this restaurant says Sushi Dake. So don't drive back and forth on Lincoln looking for Sushi Town. That's just a waste of gas. Now on to the review. This place is the very definition of a hidden gem. It's in a pretty bad location, tucked into a strip mall that doesn't look very appealing. But seriously - you need to try this place. The minute you walk in it becomes obvious that it deserves to be in a better location. It's very clean inside and decorated nicely. Almost every time I go it's empty which is why I'm writing this review - I don't want it to go out of business! They have a full menu of cooked food as well as an extensive sushi/roll menu. Everybody gets free edamame and miso soup. Ready for the best part? The prices are amazing! Seriously, the cheapest sushi around but it's all super fresh and delicious. My favorites are the Caterpillar Roll (it's served with sriracha on top so ask them to hold off if you're not into spicy), the Golden California Roll (it's $4.50 and you get TEN pieces! TEN!), and the Hawaiian Roll. They also have the best, creamiest green tea ice cream I've ever had and they give you a big old scoop for $2. Oh, and if you become a regular like me they give you a loyalty card - go 4 times and you get a free California Roll; go 8 times and they give you any roll you want for free! Amazing! They have a big TV over the sushi bar and there's always music playing. Last time I went I noticed a flyer outside that said they have movie nights on Saturdays, PG-13 from 7-9 pm and a rated R movie from 9-11. Pretty cool, right? Cheap sake/beer and sushi while watching a movie..like I said, you need to go.

Went here with my husband, brother, and sister-in-law for the first time last night. None of us live in Anaheim but we were in town for the Veteran's Special at Knotts Berry Farm and were craving sushi after a long day. Not knowing where to go, I went to Yelp, as usual. This place had really good reviews and LOTS of them, so I figured it would be a safe bet. It's a little hole in the wall place with really good customer service. The waiters and waitresses were VERY nice, polite, and most importantly: attentive. We ordered the Fried Lobster, Baked Salmon, Firecracker, and Mexican Roll. Each one was DELISH! Safe to say there were no leftovers at the end. We were also given free edamame and strawberries with whipped cream! Obviously, they know the best way into a Yelper's heart, is through the stomach :)

Decent food. Bad service. Kept having to flag down the waitresses. Took 40 mins to make two rolls. Need better experienced waiter and waitresses here.

There's nothing like a small, family-owned restaurant to whet the appetite and satisfy your cravings. Dake Sushi fits that description to a T. Their prices are reasonable (very) and the food is quite tasty. Plus, should you get a late night yen for Japanese food, they are open Monday - Saturday until midnight (however, they are closed Sundays.) The lady owner (Gloria) always greets you in a smiling and pleasant way. Upon being seated, and after ordering, you're given edamame and a bowl of miso soup (if you ask--they will give you pickled daikons too--which are yummy!) Both are great beginnings for your coming meal. I love their sushi(especially the Philadelphia Roll--which is like lox and bagel--without the bagel) and their cost. Dinners are as low as $6.95 with lunches starting at $4.95. Prior to your check, they will bring a plate of strawberries and whip cream to end your savory experience. Dake Sushi: A great place, with great prices, great food, and long hours. Enjoy!!!

Service is pretty bad. They do not care about customers, and price is overally more expensive than other sushi restaurants. Remember an owner is Korean, not Japanese. They try to mimic sushi, but it is not even a little bit close to real sushi.

I was very impressed with this place! The service was good. My friend and i got here late on a friday around 11:15pm. They provided us with free miso soups and when the bill came they also gave is strawberries with whipped cream! YUM :) I got the jenny roll and garlic roll. The jenny roll was a noncarb roll and was wrapped in cucumbers. I am not a huge fan of cucumber but i tried it anyway and i dont regret it at all. Although, there was a little too much cucumber so i picked some of it off. The garlic roll was baked and it looked a little intimidating because there were whole garlics ontop of the rolls. I was very impressed by it after my first bite because the garlic was actually not too overwhelming. I did not have a chance to try the sashimi but this is a must go if youre in the area!

This place has very good sushi. I love their very welcoming staff and the sushi chef is quiet and sweet. They are very clean. I have to say that the hand rolls on soy paper are delicious. My favorite has to be the spicy tuna hand roll on soy paper. It is very fresh. Truly one of the best sushi restaurants I have come across with. Everything I have tried has been satisfying and they hand out a nice little desert at the end.

The sushi quality was okay. The free edamame, free miso soup, friendly service, and clean environment are what earns this place its 3 stars. This is not a good place for sashimi lovers. The salmon was the best of the fish we tried. The white tuna was frozen and inedible. The sushi chef said most customers liked it that way, and it should be better after 2 minutes of thaw time. It was still frozen and tendinous.

    (3)
  • Giselle A.

Sushi was OKAY. It didn't have that bangin' taste I was expecting. Especially since this place was rated 4 stars by yelpers. Maybe, I went on an off day. The yellowtail sashimi I ordered sucked. The Place was pretty pricey for the quality of the fish.

The prices here are excellent. I was pretty amazed at the amount of food they give you for the price. I ordered the Bulgogi dinner for $5.99 and that included edamame, miso soup (for both of us), salad, and rice. Admittedly, I don't know much about sushi as I don't eat it often but I thought the firecracker roll (spicy tuna and shrimp tempura) was tasty. Not really spicy as the name implies. The hot sake was definitely worth it at the sale price, which was about $3? I was deliberating about ordering dessert when they brought out a huge sliced strawberry covered with whipped cream. It was the perfect ending to our meal. Cons: The service was polite, though a little distracted. We didn't receive any chopsticks or utensils until the waiter rushed passed us several times before finally noticing us. The bulgogi took FOREVER to come out. I think they just had one person working in the kitchen. Good thing we had edamame and miso to tide us over. I would definitely come here again for the bargain prices, but the location might make me stay away as it's not exactly close to me and it's kind of in a shady area.

Moderate to pricey side. Atmosphere on the quieter side. Sushi is definitely good but not stellar. Plaza is meh.

Sashimi was so bad...not fresh at all. The fish smells and the sweet shrimp was slimy and putrid. I will never go here again.

Pretty good for the price! Stopped here around 9pm to satisfy my never-ending sushi craving. (Gets really expensive!) Luckily, this place is fairly priced. I came here with my boyfriend and the bill ended up being about 25 dollars for 3 rolls, and that was enough to fill both of us up. Cute decor, friendly wait staff, and the chef behind the sushi bar looks like a nice lady. I'll definitely make a trip back to this place sometime!

My daughter says indentured servants get bigger portions. The bento boxes have empty areas. Definitely not a good thing. Frigid temperatures made our teriyaki inedible, but my sushi was happy. Tea came out cold, after I had to request it, again. Service by someone new to us was ugh cold, pointless. Flavor of food is fresh. Until it becomes refrigerated(62 degrees!!) on our plates. What the frack happened?

I went here with 2 of my buddies for dinner. We tried to make ordering as easy as possible so we ordered the family sized meal. On the menu it reads that it will feed a family of 4 but we ended up ordering another roll after we polished off the first order, which was supposed to feed 4. After the family meal and a order of dragon roll we still had room for more. But we decided not to because the tab was already at $80, without drinks.. The sushi was alright and the rest of the food was ok too. Except the rolls, they were the tiniest rolls I've probably seen. People usually complain about other places adding too much rice to fill you up faster but this place used very little rice. Which is a good thing but not good when the amount of filling is less too.. While I was eating the rolls I noticed the rice was dry/hard, maybe it was undercooked or maybe that's how sushi rolls are made.. I don't know. But I like my rolls big with some cooked sticky rice! One more thing I would like to add is that the roll looked way different from the menu picture, but it did say that the food may look different in the menu.. The service was not bad but I felt like the people were not very welcoming. I'm used to walking in a sushi shop and hear thunderous voices yelling gibberish in Japanese. I think the crew's lack of English was the reason for feeling "disconnected". I really appreciate when servers know the menu and throws suggestions to their customers, but over here it was a guessing game. My last 2 cents.. This place is Korean owned, I think. I overheard them speaking Korean and I'm Korean.. Well anyways, I noticed on the walls they had food specials that are more traditionally Korean. One of which is "hwedupbap" (bowl of mixed veggies, rice, sashimi, red pepper paste, sesame oil). It's like having sushi in a bowl, a ghettoer, less classy way to eat raw fish. But sometimes I'd prefer it over sushi. If I ever go back I would probably get that and maybe something else.

My fiancé and I had a strange craving for sushi and pizza. So we decided to look up a sushi place on yelp and randomly pick one. We picked right! This place is amazing! Wish it still opened at 3 like it used to but I can't wait for this sushi! The waiters and waitresses are SO nice and the lady sushi chef always gives you a welcoming smile. Sushi is very well priced and delicious. I come here very often especially when it's not busy. The miso soup is delicious too! This place is a diamond in the rough. (...For those wondering about the pizza we got Pizza Hut after :p... )

The service was exceptional! Our waitress was probably the nicest waitress I have ever met. We had free miso soup and edamame to start then free strawberries with whipped cream to end the meal. The only reason I gave this a 3 star was because I didn't like any of the sushi rolls. Our crunch roll didn't taste like a crunch roll and the sauce was just too sweet. Wasn't my thing. The good roll was the shrimp and avocado roll. Also, we came during happy hour and got 10% (or was it 15%) off of our meal. SCORE!

One of my favorites places for Sushi in Anaheim. -Service: 10 Excellent service both times I've been here. Super nice people, and they even gave us an extra salad and soup for free. Very efficient. - Setting: 9 Nicely decorated and cozy restaurant. Although it's quite small, I've never had to wait and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I assume it's Koreans that run the place since the business is surrounded by other Korean stores - and I usually shy away from non authentic japanese restaurants but this place is an exception. - Food: 7 Sushi is decent, but definitely not the best I've had. Portions are good, 8pc standard rolls and 5pc for specialties. Their spicy tuna is very spicy. Overall pretty good sushi. Their bento boxes are not that great though - I got chicken teriyaki, rice, crunch roll, salad, and miso soup. Salad dressing and teriyaki chicken was very flavorless. But for the price of the bento box I couldn't complain too much. - Price: 9 Prices here are pretty good, especially for the bento box. And sushi for two isn't bad - it came out to $25 for 4 different rolls and drinks. - overall: 9 I personally thought that the service was great here - and it made up for the not so perfect food. I've been here twice and will definitely come back.

Very cool clean little classy hole in the wall place with a very welcoming feel. The family who runs this place are pretty awesome and hands on and cares about there customers. Great customer service, fresh yummy sushi and i have samples new hand-roles and sushi combo here that i have never tried before. For instance they have a special hand roll that has a raw quail egg on it called a shrimp boat. Very good and the egg ends up being very filling. The chef is pretty great and friendly as well. They also have a loyalty punch card discount offer as well. This is great place to go alone for a bite or with a max of 2 others as its VERY tiny but full of sushi love.

  • Alexander K.

The restaurant was very quaint inside and spacious. I enjoyed the Japanese scenery and the staff was very friendly. The sushi however I found to be over priced. The flavor of the crunch roll and California rolls that I had were pretty good, however the sashimi I think was old and not fresh it tasted off and smelled also. Sushi Dake overall was decent but I don't know that I would drive out of my way for it again.

  • Angela W.

Bleh. The interior was a nice change of atmosphere (small and quaint, with dark walls) compared to many of the sushi bars I've dined at and but that didn't quite make up for flimsy/cold tempera and strangely textured rice. It was ridiculously unappetizing and a huge mistake to explore unfamiliar 'sushi territory'. To top it off, the halibut and yellowtail were ice cold... frozen fish is a definite no-no.

  • Dee C.

First off, I want to give two snaps to the female sushi-chef. She's on it! The quality of the fish was decent considering the area and the stripmall it's in. Small, intimate setting. Staff wasn't as attentive as I would have liked but when they do come over, they were pleasant. I do like the fact that it is open late. The price was at the norm. I would come again if I don't want to travel far for sushi.

By far the greatest sushi restaurant around. The service is always great, the prices are unbeatable, and the food is always fresh. Overall though its the family that works here and their warm and very welcoming aura that makes this place better than the rest :)

Live this place. The service is good, food is good, and atmosphere is good. Love the edamame, miso, and strawberry dessert perks. My husband goes crazy for their build your own roll. I would definitely recommend this place.

They were so nice. When we first came in all the tables were full and my party was 3 and the only table available was for 2. So they asked another couple to move so we can be seated which they didn't mind. Ambience looks authentic as a Japanese place. Food was delicious. I highly recommend coming. I came as a norcal visitor and it was definitely one of the best meals of my trip.

I hate that I have to rate this a two star place... but two stars is "Meh. I've experienced better." and three stars is "A-OK.". Well, I have def experienced better. Sorry, Sushi Dake. Maybe I just have expensive taste when it comes to sushi... idk. But I ordered a few things. Usually I am not a big roll fan in general. I prefer just the sushi. I enjoy the flavor of the fish without all the frills of mayo, cream cheese, and fried goodies/rice. So naturally, I ordered the sushi. It was four pieces. One salmon, one Ono, one Yellow tail and one... well, let's just say I didn't even try that one. I was very disappointed in the fish. granted, I am not sick and my wallet is happy. So I guess I can't complain tooooooo much, but I was very underwhelmed with their super thinly sliced and rather bland and chewy sushi. Okay, here's for the good stuff. The rolls. I tried the Vegas Roll and the Philadelphia Roll -- Both were VERY tasty! I thought the Miso Soup was very tasty (standard, but tasty). So Idk, to chalk this place up. Great and friendly service! Good Prices! Cute little restaurant with nice decor, buuuuuut at the end of the day, it's about the sushi (and I don't mean the rolls). I will probably come here again when I am craving a roll.

Been going here for years whenever I need a quick sushi fix. It isn't a high end place but their food is delish for an average sushi joint and the prices are reasonable. Service can be a little slow sometimes because there's only a few of them, but they're pleasant and gets to you as soon as they can.

  • Joel W.

I have to update my review of this place. I think I was being to harsh with the 3 star review. It gets a solid 4 stars and has became one of my regular sushi places due to their cheap pricing.

  • Melissa L.

The level of service here was superb, and their sushi was delicious. We came in after a long day at Knott's and were pleasantly surprised when we were given complimentary Miso soup, it was tasty and hit the spot. We ordered salmon and California rolls which were filling. We also ordered the baked lobster roll and found it to be so filling that we were done after. However we were also given fresh strawberries with whip cream as dessert, and yes they were complimentary too. The service was fantastic, our glasses were never empty and the feel of the place was great. Really enjoyed it and will be going back again!

I was visited this restaurant for Togo. I was ordered Togo sushi combo, but sushi quality was not good compare to price and they even not served miso soup for Togo with sushi combo. I do not know how expensive miso soup is.......... disappointed.

This place is really small and quiet. It's a rather nice restaurant and the staff is always so charming. They give you the option to create your own sushi, which i will never do again because I am awful- however.. their rolls, such as, the Dake Roll and Mexican Roll are sensational! Another great thing about this place is that they are open later than most restaurants during the week.

  • Jinian A.

I love coming here. It's a cozy little restaurant, and I love taking my friends here. The rolls are decent, but you can't really beat the $5 lunch special. I usually get the sesame chicken lunch special, a salmon skin roll, and a coke - all for about $10! Complimentary miso soup and dessert, too! This place is family owned, and they're a sweet family indeed. They're very catering and will even remember you if you come by often.

I've been here before and that time I would've given it a 4. However, this time the sushi was quite loose (it kept falling apart) and tasteless.

The Good: - Cheap hot sake - Kirin Black - Good size rolls - Good service - You can create your own roll The Bad: - Overly sticky rice - Super dead restaurant - Sushi wasn't memorable.

We went there around 8pm and did not get out until 9pm. The hostess and the sushi chef were nice. The sushi was fresh and delicious. We got the Alaskan Roll, Caterpillar Roll, and Spider Roll. The salmon on the Alaskan Roll was fresh and the rice was well prepared despite being so late in the day. Their avocado was very green and fresh on the Caterpillar Roll. The Spider Roll had excellent soft shelled crab that stayed intact with the roll when picked up. It did take an hour to prepare these rolls, but there was only one chef and one waitress, and a group of four ahead of us. However, the miso soup was too salty, probably due to being so late in the day. It was complimentary. The strawberries with whipped cream at the end of the meal was a nice touch. Overall, the price and food was excellent. I had a great time listening to classic pop hits including country music.

Just happened to be in the area looking for a place for dinner and because of all the great reviews, decided to stop in. We had several rolls, sweet shrimp, and various sushi. It was all fabulous (including the service)!

    (5)
  • Nash N.

I Don't understand why this place got such great reviews. The location alone is enough to raise a few eyebrows and then when you see the wait staff ordering in cheap delivery pizza, you can't help but wonder why they would rather not eat the food there. The non-sushi menu was impressive and the salmon sushi was good - but nothing to write home about. You can dress a California Roll how ever many ways; maybe tuna, maybe shrimp on top, or maybe even some gross, dripy mayo sauce all over- if it still has the mushy, shredded "crab" then it is still just a California Roll and ALL of the rolls are California Rolls. Scratch this place, drive to Long Beach and park yourself at Fusion Sushi.

  • Karri L.

This place is ok. Food was pretty good but no bar and box wine. Some of our people ordered beer and they only had two mugs.

    (3)
  • Mike C.

The sushi was average. The fish was decent. So why am I writing this review then? Because the WAIT was UNACCEPTABLE. After ordering our 6 rolls on a Sunday night towards closing (It was maybe at half-capacity), we waited a whopping 50 minutes before wondering where the hell our food was. When I flagged down a waiter and asked, they told me our rolls were NEXT to be made. Seriously, I can make rolls for everyone in the restaurant faster. Finally, another 15 minutes later, 4 of our rolls come out. 4. The other 2 were nowhere to be found until I asked about those ones 20 minutes later. When I flagged down another waiter, they literally looked at me and began walking towards me, then made a sharp turn and went off to do something else. So yeah, the service was pretty terrible too. When we left, I was expecting some sort of apology~ no such luck. I wish I had tipped even less. Not stepping back into this place again. It's not worth the wait for the food- this is your average sushi spot. ugh.

Really good prices and great service! Not a stand-out-I-MUST-eat-here type place, but I was definitely not disappointed. All the staff were super polite, and their fish was actually really fresh! Would definitely stop in here again, if I'm in the area and remember to.

We ordered the baked dynamite roll appetizet, the beef udon, the spicy tuna hand roll, and spicy scallop hand roll. Out of everything the spicy tuna hand roll was the best. Beef udon was good, but a terrible value! Only noodles and a few pieces of fish cake and a little plate of beef on the side for 10.99????? This place is expensive...at least if the udon had some veggies or a big plate of beef or a big bowl, then I'd be alright. But it was small even for one person. Didn't taste amazing either...we probably won't be back.

came here with a friend late one night since we were craving some sushi. Conveniently it was open late, a perk out here in orange county. the rolls were great except for the philadelphia which i wasn't too fond of. Even there terriyaki bowl was tasty. At the end of the meal they gave us a small dish of strawberries and cream. Our server was attentive and refilled our miso soup bowls and waters. Definitely coming back soon!

This place is called Sushi Dake. My friend and I were looking for some late night sushi and yelped this place. The score was high so we had high expectations. 6 reasons why I wouldn't go back again: 1. The place outside is called Sushi Dake not Sushi Town, we kept going in circles finding this place 2. The sashimi we were served was tasteless. It reminded me of those all inclusive type of buffets where they serve fish that just barely "passes" as being fresh. For the amount charged, the food should have been better. 3. My bento box came with salmon, sashimi, tempura, rice and miso. oh wait...where was my miso? 4. My salmon was as tough as a deck of playing cards 5. The sushi caviar and unagi my friend had was just disgusting, I felt sorry for her ordering it 6. 47 dollars for my disgusting bento and all the tasteless fish 4 redeaming reasons about them and why they get 2 stars instead of 1 1. you are served free edamame 2. nice staff 3. clean establishment 4. free strawberry with whip cream on top to remove the horrible taste from your mouth

I usually come here with my girlfriend whenever we want good sushi around the area. She's super picky about her sushi, and she absolutely loves this place! Real chill environment with friendly workers. I never have a complaint whenever I go here. This place is a staple when it comes to good sushi at a reasonable price. Plus...FREE MISO!!

Great friendly service. The sushi is pretty good. They are open late which is a big plus because I know some people get the sushi craving late at night. This place is located in a small little strip mall and wouldnt even know its there if they actually searched for it. Everytime ive been here i've gotten nothing but great service and good quality sushi.

Attracted to this place because of its late hours, because you're always hungry late at night and its nice to find a sushi place that's open. Great quality sashimi. Nice and fresh and sweet. We got the 20 piece sashimi plate and wasn't disappointed. The baked mussels are really good, although it takes awhile for it to come out The make your own roll idea is pretty cool too, just a tad overpriced. Friendly and nice service

Good stuff. Really liked this place. Its in a dumpy little retail strip in a part of town that seemed a bit dodgy but otherwise, it was clean, the service was very good and the sushi was fresh. I had a bowl of the beef udon noodles which were super good and then along with a list of all sorts of sushi and rolls, they have this "make your own roll" thing where you pick out what goes inside, on top and any sauces. So you can make up a special roll exactly how you want. And it was reasonably price. I'd go here again.

I've been through tons of sushi places and it always ends up with either good food and bad service or the other way around. I've been coming to Sushi Dake for a few years now and I'm always pleased with the relaxed atmosphere and great food they offer. Not a place to go with a party of people, but excellent for a one on one date or a chill evening.

I don't know why this place has such high reviews... first off I was having my husband order to go and none of the online prices in the pictures were right. Also, I tried to order an EASY TO MAKE roll, hamachi (yellow tail) with green onions, and they were like, we only have spicy hamachi roll. -Can't you guys just make it? I mean how hard is it to cut up some fish and throw some green onions on it? Must I go on.... I ended up not ordering from here because what kind of sushi place can't even make you simple sushi?!?

BEWARE of this restaurant!! This was by far the worst restaurant I have been to in my life. Went in on a Saturday night and the entire restaurant was empty but I decided to to give it a shot and felt bad that they were completely empty. The waitress was completely out of it and would forget to bring us everything we asked for from plates to wasabi and ginger. We had to ask for something at least 3 times for it to be finally brought to our table. I don't understand why the lack of in attentiveness when we were the only customers. We ordered a tuna roll that we only took one bite out if and it was horrible. So we let the waitress know we wouldn't be eating it and asked her kindly to take it off our bill. She then told us once something is ordered it has to stay on the bill wherever it is eaten or not!! We were in utter shock. Why do we have to pay for something we didn't like or even eat?! Then the owner came out and started yelling at us saying that the tuna is fine and we had to pay for it. Then she began screaming at my girlfriend when she told her that the tuna was not good. DO NOT eat here! There was a reason why it is empty on a Saturday night! You will be treated poorly, yelled at, and whether you like or not like what you order you will have to pay for it!! Go somewhere else. For the amount of money we paid we could have had much better sushi and service. This experience ruined our whole night.

man, these guys got it RIGHT! after a day of standing in line, fast food and flipping upside down at nearby knott's, my girlie and I were craving some good sushi. this place popped up and had good reviews, so we checked it out. the food was amazing - the baked lobster roll, which I order at every place I go, usually to my dismay, was amazing! the sake was cheap (at least compared to LA =p), and they had great deals on the basics. the server was sweet as a pie, and the owners seemed genuinely happy we were there. will definitely stop back.

Stumbled upon this place on accident when me and my mom were looking for a local sushi restaurant to go to for lunch. So, I just randomly found this place on my Google maps through my phone and we decided to check it out. The place is small and quaint and very clean. I like how the sushi bar is right in the center of the whole restaurant, it give off an authentic sushi joint feeling. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with a very warm welcome from the people that work there, you automatically feel comfortable walking in. The food is great! And all at a great price! I've only been for lunch and never for their dinner service, but everytime I pass by it at night, the parking lot is pretty packed. So, that must only mean good things! Everytime I go in, I always see the same lady which is always my server and she is one of the most friendly people o have ever met, she's always so happy and remembers and recognizes me from just the fist time I went in. The food is very good, a great place to have lunch and the great service is what makes me keep wanting to come back. I highly recommend checking this place out.

We have a love/hate relationship with this place. Sometimes the sushi is warm, sometimes ice cold. Complimentary edamame and fresh strawberry with whip cream. Never a wait although this place is always busy.

I have been going to this place for a couple years and LOVE it, its not the absolute best sushi but its consistently good and i like that. its never too crowded, I have never had to wait, but there is always someone inside eating. they make the salmon skin roll better than anyone

Came here last Saturday with my bf's cousins from the East Coast. Since we want to treat them good food, and they requested sushi, I spent hours looking up sushi restaurants in Anaheim area. We finally settled on this one due to the four-star ratings and good reviews. Location - a little hard to find. We put the address into our GPS and while driving here on Lincoln street, we had doubt that the address was wrong because the area seems like a residential area with little restaurants. Anyways, we finally got there. Decoration - when we got there, we were a little disappointed. We expected it to locate in a big mall with other japanese stores. However, this restaurant was in a little mall surrounded by korean stores. Oh no, our heart sunk. It's probably owned by Koreans. We also made a little joke about the sign above the restaurant. It literally says "Su Shi" in Japanese!! The decoration inside the restaurant is very nice and it looks like a very authentic japanese restaurant. The tables were very clean, although the AC was a little cold. The interior design raised our hope a little bit. Waitress - very nice and attentive. She frequently come over to our table and asked whether we needed anything and if the food was ok. But her accent revealed that yes, she is a Korean, meaning that this restaurant is not as authentic as its decorations. Then we looked around at the customers, none of them were asian (I am not being racist, but I am just telling you the facts), so it gave us a hint that the food was probably Americanized... Food - we ordered baked scallop roll, fried lobster roll, Mexican roll, California roll, teriyaki chicken bowl, and BBQ beef bowl. As for the drinks, I got hot green tea and others got just water. Then the waitress asked us if we wanted miso soup. Knowing the some sushi restaurants charge for miso soups, and we didn't want to let our East Coast friends down, so we said yes. The teriyaki chicken and the BBQ beef bowl came first. The meat portion was good, and prices for them were very good too! They were just about $4.95 each. Next came the baked scallop roll. Yes it looked very beautiful, with cheese, Japanese mayo, and baked scallop (I know what scallops taste like, and the "scallop" tasted nothing like what it supposed to be) on top of eight pieces of california roll (??) After carefully dividing it with knives (yes knives! since we couldn't pick it up with our chopsticks), we each took a bite and we were silent. I first broke the silence and said...it had too much mayo on it!! But since the restaurant was kind of cold, I won't complain further because a little warmth was good. The rest of the rolls took a while to come. Lobster roll - great disappointment. The fried lobsters were in the shape of shrimp and they did not taste like lobsters, nor shrimp. The batter was kind of thick. Most surprisingly, what I thought the fried lobster roll was steamy hot fried lobster on top of cold sushi. But oh no, the fried lobsters were cold. Yes. Cold. But at least they were crunchy. The rolls underneath it was California roll. If we have known that, then we wouldn't order another California roll. Mexican roll - just California roll with Sirarcha hot sauce. Wait, Sirarcha hot sauce? According to Wiki, Sirarcha was named after a city in Thailand, and it is frequently used in Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai cuisines. Wait, did I say Mexican? If you want to name a roll Mexican, put Tapatio or something more Mexican please! Atmosphere - it was a quiet restaurant. Only a few tables were occupied. We felt embarrassed to talk in our normal voice although we had soo much to talk about after not seeing them for a while. Bill - we were shocked twice after looking at our bill. They didn't charge us for the miso soup, which was shock number 1. Shock number 2, my pot of hot green tea costed $2 where other Japanese sushi restaurants offer for freeeee. Oh well, at least we got the soups and edamame for free. Plus, we got sweet strawberries dipped in whip cream for free. Anyways, our bill came out to be ~$43 for four people, and we were definitely full. I can't speak for the fishes (salmon, tuna) because we didn't order them. But for the price, I would go back if I am in the Anaheim area.

Rating: 2 stars Was going to give 1, but added another one for decent service Honestly.. This place is run by Japanese people.. at least have some decent authentic sushi! What a disgrace. It's 50% off of sushi.. but for sushi that starts at $14-16.. it comes down to $7-8 per roll which is normal price people!! Especially for a place located in a dump/gutter/ghetto area.. I feel like there could've been a drive-by shooting at any minute Food: Rice was dry. Wasn't wrapped tightly enough to the sushi. Fried Lobster was a CA roll with pieces of deep fried dried lobster chunks just dropped on top with a bit of eel.. pathetic Baked Lobster was the same.. when you go to take a piece.. the whole top layer is coming off with it.. which tells me its not prepared correctly and not freshly made.. feels like it was made beforehand and heated at the last moment Large Sake only had enough to fill like 5 full shots.. lame I should've known better than to try sushi in Anaheim.. my fault! Don't go here. Save your time and money

Excellent prices, nice atmosphere. Got there right as they opened, so me and my sidekick had full run of the place. Between the two of us we stuffed ourselves, and took home food for later, for $30. Ordered miso soup; dragon, spicy tuna, and Alaska rolls; inari, masago, and unagi. Spicy tuna roll wasn't really spicy, but was delicious nonetheless. Unagi was served minus sauce, but was cooked just right, so that it melted in your mouth. Only complaint is that our second round of tea was little more than hot water; the waitress didn't let the tea steep long enough. An easily overlooked complaint, considering the rest of the experience. Considering the place is half a mile from my house, I'll definitely be going back.

50% OFF SUSHI! Every night, every day. I love this place - the staff are super friendly and worry when they don't see us for a while. Sushi here is always fresh and great tasting. The only downside is that our stomachs are never big enough to finish all the food we order. This is the ONLY sushi place I know that is open til MIDNIGHT during weekdays - and it's a mom and pop joint! We always get a table in the right corner and the service is excellent. They bring out edamame and miso soup and at the end of your meal - strawberries and cream. They have fresh raw fish rolls, spicy rolls, tempura rolls, baked fish rolls, and vegetarian rolls and they are ALL half priced. I love it. This also includes their entrees - 6 bucks for chicken teriyaki dinner is usually unheard of at sushi restaurants. The place has great food music too - one time, they played some opera that was hardly obnoxious. Don't forget to ask for a stamp card - you get free sushi after 6 visits and another one after 12.

This place is wonderful! Five stars for everything! Not only do they have delicious food, they also have great customer service and they're all so nice. Also, it is very inexpensive. My boyfriend and I have made this our regular dinner-date spot. It doesn't look like much on the outside but it has a very charming and comfy look and feel to it on the inside. They seat you and give you miso soup and edamame beans while your order is being made! We always get the Dake Boat, it's $20 for a platter full of different rolls and they're all delicious and it fills us both up. After you are done, they give you each a strawberry and whip cream :) YUM!! I love this place!

Being new to Orange County, my bf and I were looking for a sushi place that wasn't too over priced and had simple rolls. I'm very picky with what I eat. This place is awesome. They serve you edemame when you sit down, and strawberries for dessert. The rolls are great and the fish tastes fresh. The prices were reasonably priced. We will defiantly be back!

I love the hot tea here! I actually wanna buy it from the owner, but she doesn't sell it. bummer. haha. The tea is amazing and best tasting tea ever. The tea here is special tea from an actual mountain in Korea. The prices are awesome and food is pretty good too. Its great deal. Service is great. If I am ever in town, I'll definitely come back.

Delicious, cheap, fresh sushi. What more can you ask for? My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the area surrounding it. I wish they could find a better location, but I understand it's more affordable. If you see it from the outside, it looks like some grungy place, but once you walk in it's very pretty and well.... black and red! I ordered the baked salmon roll and it was divine. It was a little too oily, but minus that it was delicious. I also got the mexican, which I wouldn't recommend, but my boyfriends crunchy roll was yummy!

Shame on me for trying to be nice and try this twice. Yeah- Pretty much the food was uneatable. I'm sorry- no way does this place deserve this many stars. The guy was nice though. Hence the one star. previous post: I normally don't write a review or post it so early from just eating at the place but this place is ridiculously HORRIBLE. If I could give it a zero I would! Pros -ambience -servers Cons -the rice on my rolls were so hard -the tempura shrimp were stale and made two hrs beforehand as one of the waiters pointed out. -and in all my years of eating sushi, I had never found a fish bone, ever! Walking in, this place seemed very promishing and the reviews seemed positive. Unfortunately- I've eaten alot of sushi and this is the absolute worse! I would rather eat the sushi appetiZer from cheesecake factory than here ever again. I don't know how people give this place 5 stars- the meat is nothing stellar to rave about and as I write this, i'm trying not to throw up. That is how unpleasant this place is. Absolutely mindblowing.

They are known for 50% sushi. Its not necessarily a good thing. In fact, I was scared to eat here. Why half off? There must be a catch! I always order eel at every sushi bar I go to so there it was in front of me... Eh, not bad. For half off, Ill eat it again. Got a couple of "specialty rolls" and they were just "A-OK". They serve you some edamame that I swear were marinated in salt overnight. Miso soup was also complimentary. Now, that you just cant screw up. If you want fast sushi and you dont mind eating mediocre fish AND you dont have much cash I'd recommend this place. The restaurant is not bad looking inside at all either. The plaza on the other hand is a little sketchy but for the most party seems okay as long as you have pocket knife on you. I read someone's review that this is owned by Japanese. This is incorrect. Yes, it is a mom and pop's spot but they are Korean. Yes, Korean. Not Japanese. Enormous difference.

We were from out of town visiting DisneyLand and the family had a hunkin' for Japanese food with sushi. We looked up places on Yelp and found Dake had received some pretty decent reviews, so we ventured out of our motel room made the trek. Very easy to find from DL. A straight shot west about 2 miles on W. Katella, then North on Beach Blvd. (or as I would like to call it, the Indy 500 with streetlights). When we arrived around 9PM, the frontage looked a little dark, but we saw some customers leaving so we figured they were still open. Parking was very easy in the mini mall lot. Once seated, we were very impressed with Dake. The tables and restaurant was very clean and the staff extremely friendly. Very reasonable prices for a good section of sushi and meat dishes. The fish was fresh and flavorful. There was a flat screen TV to watch the World Cup and also classic rock music, like The Who, playing in the background. After our dinner, they gave us a nice complementary dish of a sweet, sliced strawberry with whipped cream. When we told them that it was our Son's birthday, they made him a green-tea ice cream, tempura dipped dessert which was great. Overall, We made a very good decision to try Dake Sushi. An excellent dining value without having to compromise quality or cleanliness. The only regret that we have is that we do not live in the area and cannot become regular customers.

I go to this restaurant with my family. The five of us can eat until we're in a food coma for under fifty bucks and the food is fantastic. The fish is fresh, the soup is well-flavored, the service is prompt and friendly. When I am in SoCal this is my go-to place for sushi and that's really all I have to say about that.

This is me and my boyfriend's favorite sushi place! Service and ambiance are great! Miso soup is 2 thumbs up and the sushi? SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! and its not overpriced unlike other sushi places. I wasn't really a fan of sushi but now I am!

The place is tiny. I mean it. TINY. (So, go early before it gets crowded!) But it's clean. Very. You can easily run your tongue along any surface and live to tell. I can't say that about a lot of restaurants. I can't even say that about some people's homes. And cleanliness is paramount to any sushi place, methinks. So, the food is very, very delicious--quite wonderful, really--as well as reasonably priced. The problem? You're going to wait. A long time. At least we did. Their lone sushi chef is lovely and makes tidy, delicious, thoughtful dishes, but she was totally alone. And their waiter--their lone waiter--was likewise spread too thin, like too little butter over too much bread. If you can get past the wait time, however, it's a great bet for yummy sushi.

AAAAAAAHHHHHH. My husband and I are just starting to like sushi. I had a really bad craving and discovered this place on yelp. We ordered a golden California roll (tempura fried CA roll) one regular CA roll and a spicy tuna roll (my favorite). While the order was made we were given edamame, miso soup, and our drinks (cokes, we were boring that night but there is a pretty big sake and beer selection). We received our sushi quickly and were in heaving. The golden roll melted, and the spicy tuna roll had a pleasant crunch from a cucumber bit (and I don't even like cucumber!). After our meal the woman brought out strawberries and whip cream, at which point we were sold. For all that, our bill wasn't even $17.00 I give this place a resounding HUZZAH!

Hmmm, not sure why this place received bad ratings? Great service, everything was fresh and delicious! Not a 5 star, wish they offered better pricing specials such as happy hour. If you dine here, be sure to try the dynamite roll! They gradually bake it so it doesn't have that burnt aftertaste.

yum yum yum yum yum the place is wonderful. exterior makes your hopes go down because its not located in the best place..but once you walk in, things change completely. the interior is outstanding. dim, small, intimate, its a good change for sushi restaurants. I've been a regular here for over two years, so whatever cons the former reviewers have said, I can most likely refute. you cannot give a restaurants one star for mistakes done once. the fish is fresh and is labeled with blue stickers, which means excellent quality. the chef is a man of respect with his fish. when the fish steps away from freshness, he throws the batch of fish away, no questions asked. the rolls are a bit pricey, and is and has been 50 percent off for all rolls. the rolls' originals prices range from 4 to 16 bucks, which means after the discount, itll come out to 2 to 8 bucks. this is on the cheaper side, and yes, its still a lot for half off, but good luck on finding another sushi joint that offers cheap prices. fish is a delicacy, and the family that owns and runs this place respects that. and NO THEY ARE NOT JAPANESE, they look more korean to me. they speak to me in korean all the time. the desserts here are good. their tempura green tea ice cream is goooood. try it! overall, this place is an excellent place to go to for good, fresh, price-cheap sushi. go go go!

Dinner started out great then went downhill fast. After having a delicious yellowtail sashimi we ordered 2 more orders of the same. When they arrived something looked different. We tasted one piece each and it was not the same. It tasted fishy. Really fishy. So said we didn't care for it. They said sorry, but you have to pay for it "because you had us put ponzu sauce on it and now we can't reuse it!" What??? Did I hear that right? Have I been eating recycled sushi all night?? Barf. So I said no, I don't want it. And then he says "we can make it into a roll and you won't taste (how bad) the fish. So now I think I'm being punked. Finally after threatening to have American Express revoke the charge they did the right thing and didn't charge me for the fishy fish. If after this you still go to Dake I sure hope you like eel sauce, because they drown all their rolls in it! Gee...I wonder why?

Ah Dake Sushi, you have proved me wrong. This medium sized sushi joint is by far the best hole in the wall in the area. First and foremost, the environment of this area is fairly decent, they provide dark yet romantic area for people to enjoy sushi Secondly, this place place actually gives out a decent amount of food for the bargains they have. 5.99 are you OUT OF YOUR MIND FOR SOME DINNER? No Way. I'm from Norcal and i love their sushi, so this reminds me of home. I'm hella coming back here one day with some folks. Thanks Dake Sushi!

Not what you would expect for a little hole in the wall place. 1) This place is clean 2) has a nice ambiance with a medium-sized sushi bar and not that many tables. All updated furniture. 3) has fresh, delicious sushi 4) it's cheap 5) it's kids friendly 6) Has a large flat screen TV. 7) has great service. 8) Serves alcohol. 9) free miso soup and edamame. Winner, Winner sushi dinner.

I tried this place on a whim with my fiance after having visited a store across the street. Initial impression was that the place was quiet, mellow, not too many customers... "Is the food going to be good?!" I was definitely worried. The service, best described as polite and attentive. Excellent. The food arrived without much of a wait and it was... superb! Miso soup was good, the sushi's were great. Salmon, crunchy roll, spicy tuna. I had seconds on a couple of them. And yes, I was pleasantly surprised by the dessert, which was really nice and a perfect finish to the meal. All of this, for a really reasonable price. I'd definitely recommend visiting and trying this place out.

The place has nice interior and has really nice mood. They have nice price on food with 15% off all the time. Because they have fairly nice price, I tried many different rolls and I liked them all. I especially liked hot roll and their dragon roll. And I also love their sweet desserts.

Excellent service, but sadly the fish just wasn't fresh. I could tell where the bones were picked out of the salmon and the squid was wrinkly and dull, not looking like a shiny piece of white plastic, like it kinda should lol! Halibut was served plain, without ponzu.

Well this review is LONG overdue. But it took me awhile to recover from my experience. Not only was this the worst sushi experience I've had to date, it's the worst food experience i've had. Period. There's NO way the raving reviews for this place are legit. First, we pull up and it's a tiny little cafe type place in a strip mall-esque building. Which was fine. Sometimes those are the best places. We walk in and we're the only customers. Usually not a good sign. In walks a family, at about 8-9 pm, with a toddler. A toddler who yelled throughout the whole dinner. And we had the pleasure of sitting next to 3 teenagers who cursed and degraded women through out there whole meal. Not that's it's managements fault who eats there, but when you have people dropping the F bomb every other word in such a small place....time to speak up! The women who was serving us was nice enough, but a little too narotic. She was running around like there was a packed house. And she would come over and re-arrange things on our table. Very odd. I think it's a family run place. It looked like her, her son and husband? were the ones running the place. The beer, sake, edamame and miso soup were good. Then comes the sushi.... I ordered a veggie roll and crunch roll. The veggie roll was legit romaine lettuce wrapped in seaweed and rice. It made me gag when I ate my first bite. Then the "crunch roll", which was loaded with shrimp in the picture, came out with crab stick meat only. Both rolls were way oversized and not rolled tightly. I could barely get them in my mouth. I NEVER complain at a restaurant, but I was not going to eat the mess they served me. So, I called over the youg man working there and told him I did not like the sushi. He wanted to know why. So I explained to him what I didn't like about it. He just said "It's okay, we all have differ ent tastes". Say what? So my boyfriend gets a hold of the women and lets her know that I was not happy with the food and want it removed for the check. She seemed to understood what we were saying but apparently went back and got her son. He came over again and asked what I didn't like about the sushi (now on my 3rd time explaining myself). So I once again told him why I was not happy with my meal. He proceeds to argue with me over it. Really? REALLY? He took my plate, dropped the check and went back to the kitchen. As we were figuring out the tip, he walked back out, with my plate in his hand, shoved it in my face and pointed out 1 piece of shrimp he dug out of the roll aka shoved in there in the kitchen. I was appalled. WORST customer service EVER. My boyfriend and I were both so shocked and disgusted we rushed out of there. Leaving his credit card behind. The guy ran out to our car with it. So the only thing I can say positive about the place is....they are honest. But we will NEVER go back there!

The service is so super SLOOOOOWWWWWW........50 minute wait for 20 piece sashimi that tasted like it came in a container from a grocery store.

I went here once with my niece. We are sushi enthusiasts. The service and food was fine until after we had paid the bill... we were just about to leave our tip and go, when the lady told us she had charged us the wrong amount for one roll and we owed a dollar. Needless to say, we left ONE dollar on the table. Never have I been asked for the difference of a check, especially just for a dollar! I was highly disappointed and will not return there again. hope getting that dollar was worth it.

The prices are decent, the rolls were really good. My only complaint is that they fell apart too easy when trying to lift them via my chopsticks. Didn't have this problem so much at other sushi establishments. The lady who helped me was very friendly, and escorted me out the door and said thank you when I left (I came for carryout). I would definitely come here again.

Possibly the best sushi I've ever had. Nevermind that it's almost right across the street from where I live, but Sushi Dake has got to have the freshest, tastiest fish I've ever had! The albacore was like literal butter melting in my mouth, and flaky to the touch. All the prepaired rolls were beyond perfect, without the seasoning killing the flavor of the fish. I eat LOTS of sushi, and I've not been to a spot where I like every item I order. Until now!!! The staff there is extremely curtious, and polite. The CHEFactually walked around the bar to rearranged our plates to be more accomodating to eat!!! WHO DOES THIS!?!?!?!?! Amazing experience altogether. The ambience is charming and current as well, utilizing low lighting, black paint with tan accents and mirrored walls. Please don't kill this spot, as it's my new fav!

Even went as far as singing happy birthday to our friend that didnt even want it and they seemed excited about it when. Wish this place was closer to where i live but i will definitely be coming back when im in the area.

My friends and I had just finished visiting Sea World in San Diego and we were starving, but it was already 10.30pm and we knew almost every sushi place would be closed. Luckily we were entering Anaheim and found this little place that said they were open till midnight. We weren't here because of the reviews, we were here because it was late, we were hungry, and we wanted sushi. We were seated right away and the waitress was super friendly. Unlike other reviewers I don't remember any of us getting free miso soup however, we did receive free edemame. The waitress took our orders and we waited about half an hour for our food which we thought was a little long considering the restaurant wasn't packed however we were a party of five and had multiple rolls. When the rolls came out we were pleasantly surprised. They looked fantastic and roll after roll kept coming to the table, along with the waitress asking if we needed anything. I had a fantastic crunch roll and my boyfriend who is super picky about how his baked scallop roll tastes loved his roll too. We also had the spicy tuna roll, two California rolls, and our friends had ordered the dynamite roll and another roll. Everyone really enjoyed their food and when we were finished they gave us free strawberries and whipped cream, which we didn't expect. It just made the night even better and we were really glad we came. The prices weren't too bad and they even split the check for us. Overall, great place to get late night sushi :)

This place is THE. BEST. SUSHI. EVER. I have been coming here repeatedly in the months they've been open and they are consistently perfection. Freshest and most tender. I saw there's a couple of bad reviews and I had to go double check the address, because I just cannot fathom anyone not absolutely loving this place. My brain just can't understand it. It's my boyfriend and mine's favorite sushi place now. The service is outstanding and the food is the best. They obviously care so much about presentation, I almost feel bad tearing into a work of art. But only for a moment, because I know taste perfection is waiting in that careful arrangement. Their prices are currently insanely cheap, but I think that's just grand-opening specials, so I expect they will eventually double their prices and have them at about what everywhere else has it at. For example, a California roll is $3.50. My favorite, the baked lobster roll is $9.50. I love the sauce they have on top of that, it has a bit of sweetness to it and they've made it my favorite. Their crab sushi is the biggest hunk of crab I've ever seen on anyplace's crab sushi. They don't have an all you can eat special, but we fill up for cheaper here than we do at an all you can eat place that charges $20 per person. They do have some non sushi food here, which seems to be very traditional dishes, fish, meats, and veggies. I just haven't had any reason to try anything but the sushi, though. I always drink whatever the cheap hot sake is at sushi places, but theirs is the best one I've had, a little bit sweeter and not rough like some are. They give you miso soup and edamame with your meal and some fruit for dessert. This place is family owned and they are very happy to see you. They've been completely accommodating with my weird allergies and my being a picky eater. The son and daughter are the ones who are fluent in english, everyone else can understand most requests, but if it's too complicated, they'll bring over one of them to translate. I got a kick out of chatting with the sushi chef through the son one night. He felt talkative and got the son out of the kitchen to translate some neat wasabi facts to us. The place has good ambiance, is nice and clean, and open late hours. I believe they're open until midnight Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays. It is a small restaurant, so this isn't the place for a huge group, though. I think a group of 20 would get the whole restaurant to themselves, but I'm not sure if they could even seat that many. I've never seen the place full, but they've arranged the restaurant well so you won't feel crowded. In conclusion, try the place so they get business and stay open, but don't tell too many people how awesome they are, I don't want the place to get too busy for me to get in! I need my Sushi Dake fix!

We have been going to Dake since it opened. It was owned by someone else before and the food was blah. Gloria the owner always knows us and what we like. I am also a chef so I know my fish and how it is prepared. The collar is one of our favorite things to have; my wife and I usually fight for the most... The fish is fresh and seems to always be good. I enjoy the service it is not too pushy and we are never disappointed. Remember we have eaten there about once a week for the past few years. I am surprised at EV and his lack of taste. I have had the albacore roll, perhaps if he could spell it he would have gotten what he wanted? I have also been to the store he mentioned, only once was enough. Way over seasoned to hide the fish taste. All in all Dake is a good neighborhood got to place and we will continue to go and enjoy our meals. Thank you Gloria.

Honestly.. this is only sushi place that opens til midnight but I'm always not satisfied with this place. Food quality is just as bad as AYCE Sushi' restaurant. And it's pretty expensive for the good they have. Only think I like about this place is that it opens until midnight. But I wouldn't recommend coming here beside midnight.

  • Cristina S.

I LOVE that this place is open til midnight! And of course good sushi too! So, I was the one who suggested the place and got kinda worried when we came in and there was only one other party other than our party of 7. But by 10pm, the place started getting busy. So much to choose from, from the menu. I liked that they had a create your own roll option. Although I didn't get that, I did get TWO other rolls, yes two. All for myself. And I demolished it, because it was DELICIOUS. Service was great too! Would definitely come back!

We came here after a long day at Knotts and after reviewing Yelp, we decided this would be the place to have dinner. The restaurant looks like it is closed from the outside because it is dark, but it was very open while entering. There was no table available so we waited in the middle of the restaurant until one opened up. The employees didn't acknowledge us and I figured it was because they were busy. When we got our table another couple entered and they were greeted right away. I wish they would have said something to us, anything would have been fine. The drinks were served right away and the food was served in a decent amount of time. It was really good. We will go back when we are in the area.

Simple and quaint. Sushi is great and they are open until midnight which is a super plus. 1 of only 2 places open super late within 10 miles. Our waitress was Jennifer and she was very friendly and gave us wondeful service, even at 11 o'clock at night. I'll be back for sure.

A nice late night spot for sushi. Had some cravings the other night and came here at 11pm and it was nearly empty. Waitress was super nice and attentive! We ordered the dake boat which came with a good amount of sushi for $20. It was mainly california rolls, spicy tuna, cucumber, and avocado sushi hence the cheap price, but it was still really good for two people. Also came with free edamame, miso soup, and strawberries with whipped cream. We added on a salmon skin roll and a pair of clam sushi, and the total came to be around $30. Pretty good! They do to-go/ pick-up orders so I might try that next time too. Will be back to try their other stuff soon.

Most delicious sushi in town! I live a street away and I haven't had a bad experience here ever! On my recent visit the servers were nice and continuously checked up on us while we were waiting for another friend to arrive. All the rolls are deliciously made. And the best thing to look forward to is a little dessert of strawberries with whipped cream. It was pouring rain that night and the waitress checked up on us outside. They were closing and she gave us newspapers to run to our car! It was very nice. I love this place.

This is the best sushi place ever. They hook up the food, lots of freebies too. Free edamame....Free desert...Free soup.... Open till Midnight so if you are visiting disneyland or knotts this is the place to be! Awesome food, Great Staff. Really I cant speak higher of this place. Make sure you try the Cucumber Roll!

Been regularly coming here 1-5 times a month with my girlfriends and boyfriend. It's amazing! The servers always remember my drink and how I like my rice. Haha it's great how friendly they are with me. I feel much more at home sometimes when I'm here. I've been to plenty of sushi places and this by far is my favorite sushi place. I almost don't want to rave about this place so I have it all to myself but I know this would help business. It's quiet or busy at times. There's a bar for you to sit at too if you'd like or just tables. Last Friday I came here with my boyfriend who's from England and he came here twice with me before too. The first time he came, he's never tried sushi before!! He truly loved this place. And still does!!

My boyfriend and I have been there around three or four times already. We really like the food and the fact that it's not expensive and it's open later than a bunch of other places. However, the service is not so great. Last time we were there, we got lucky no one else was there when we arrived, so we got our food super fast, that was awesome. But by the time we finished, the restaurant had started flooding with people and we were forgotten for over 20 min. Yes, 20 minutes without a single glance from a waitress. I had to call one because I was tired of waiting on them. We got out of there pretty upset, but we do know these things happen. Most of the waitresses are friendly though. They usually offer miso soup and at the end they have brought some strawberries and cream sometimes, not always, which makes no sense to me, but ok. I'd say it's worth it if you don't mind much about service.

My mom and I came to this restaurant after looking through yelp for good sushi restaurants near the area. When I saw the amount of reviews and the 4 stars for this restaurant, I was assured that I picked a great place. When we arrived, we were pretty thrown off by the location, as it was pretty desolate and had little light. Regardless, we went in to try the food. When we sat down, I was pretty excited to try the food. We're always down to pay a little more for good, quality food so we didn't think much of the prices. We ordered the Energy roll ($11.99), a baked fish roll ($10.99), and a order of two shrimp with quail egg pieces ($5.99). Once they took our orders, they asked if we wanted soup or edamame. I found it strange they would ask if it was free. Not typical but I guess it's alright. The soup and edamame tasted like spoonfuls of salt. When we got our food, we were surprised they looked really good! But when we looked further we realized that both of our rolls were basically all california rolls (imitation crab). Our baked roll was a california roll with mashed-up canned tuna, peas, onion, corn, and cheese. For the price we paid, we expected to get at least pieces of some sort of fresh fish. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant. Could have spent half the money for some actually good food.

We came here yesterday on a whim after deciding we want something light. Most sushi places close at 9:30-10PM on a Sunday night, but this place stays open until 11PM. There's nothing overly impressive when you walk in. Typical small sushi joint with a handful of tables. The owners and workers were nice and greeted us promptly when we walked in. Apparently they give you free miso soup and edamame, which we certainly liked. The standard assortment of rolls are offered, or there's a separate menu where you can write in your own custom-built roll which is pretty cool. I made a soy paper wrapped (+$1) roll with baby lobster, crab, and avocado inside, with tuna and yellowtail on top. I liked it very much. My gf made a roll with crab, scallops, and avocado inside, and albacore outside with onions sprinkled on top, which was also good. For $11.99, that's pretty awesome that you can build virtually anything you'd like. I also ordered a separate salmon handroll. I could tell the fish was recently thawed since some pieces were a lot colder than the others. But this late at night at a random sushi joint in Anaheim, this doesn't come as a surprise. Overall, this is a decent sushi joint that you'll be happy with if you're randomly craving sushi and want a quick fix. It doesn't do anything to stand out from other places, so don't come in with high expectations and you'll be just fine. Good food, good service, 4 stars, end of story.

A little different from average sushi. We ordered four rolls between the two of us and the waiter acted like it was a huge amount of food. Really? He actually said, "wow". Seriously. What a jerk. The only roll that was really good was the roll we made using the make your own roll option. The other three were either average or just not good. Not fresh at all.

They have great miso soup. But other than that it is slightly lacking. Service is a little bit slow. I know they get busy but they should still be attentive to their customers at all times. They do not have all you can eat so don't expect that. The actual fish itself was not bad but a little pricey for the quality.

This small hole in the wall is a great simplistic place to have amazing sushi. The nice dark setting is really fantastic for a date! I come here with my girlfriend very frequently and the managers and employees are amazing. They do an excellent job on non raw fish selections such as their golden California roll or crunch rolls. The sushi is very cheap, but high quality. The owners of the shop do very well preparing our meals every time. Also at the end of the meal you get strawberries and whipped cream. Every meal also comes with miso and edamame free of charge. I highly suggest their tea. They use roasted rice to give it a nutty flavor. I have never been disappointed thus why i am the duke of this sushi restaurant! Cheers!

This is the best sushi I've had and the service is usually exceptional. It's open late which is great and it's super tasty. Intimate setting. Whether you sit at the sushi bar or a table it's always a nice experience. I love the fact that I can "design" my own roll and the prices are great for the quality. Try some sake or raspberry rice wine with your meal. Sushi chef (I think she's also the owner) has great customer service skills as well. Always leave her happy and full and the bills usually under $50.

Free edamame and miso soup appetizers are always available once you've ordered. I wasn't so fond of the service until today's mishap that solidified my disdain. Don't get me wrong, the food is pretty good. My boyfriend and I were seated and ready to order one rainy Wednesday night. I knew I wanted the salmon teriyaki only. When the waitress took our order, without writing any of it down, I remember specifically saying "salmon teriyaki from the special menu." I was in the right state of mind, not zoned out, not distracted, or anything of the sort. However, the waitress might have been because several minutes later when she brought out our food, she placed a chicken teriyaki plate in front of me. My boyfriend and I exchanged some dumbfounded looks. When I got her attention and she walked over, I told her that I ordered the salmon. Her reaction wasn't the most reassuring. She looked at me just as dumbfounded as I was and said "I'm sorry, I thought you said chicken... I heard chicken teriyaki..." Then while I insisted I said salmon, she then replied with, "oh, do you not like chicken?" This got me the most upset because she was standing there with no sense of urgency, no sincerity, no concern for my order. I just dropped it and accepted the chicken because I knew if I asked for a new plate, someone might just do something different to it (*ahem*). So while my boyfriend and I were eating our meals, the chef then comes by and asks if everything is ok and insist I change my order back to salmon. Despite this nice gesture, I just continued eating before they tried charging me for 2 plates or something like that. I'm might not be coming back here due to their terribly lacking customer service. My boyfriend still loves this place, so I'll go if he ever has a craving, but just for the food, and this time I will actually POINT to my order on the actual menu; other than that, I wouldn't put up with this lack of customer service.

I've been coming here since the current owners bought it and I love it. They are very attentive, the sushi is always fresh and the owner is great, remembers my order and offers me samples of sushi to try and get me to branch out. The servers are all very friendly too. Highly recommended!

My boyfriend and I came in yesterday (Sunday) after work. We alway pass by it but this time we decided to get some grub. It's a small restaurant with dim lighting but I really like it. It was cute and romantic in its own way. We ordered some deep fried california roll.... it was yummy and the usual crunch roll. Just some nice snacks before bed. The waitress was really nice and explained how to order and etc. Very welcoming and sweet. Only one server though... maybe it was because it was a slow night. Free Miso/Edaname/Strawberry. Left her a good $10 tip. I would defintely come back for that last minute snack before going home. It's OPEN LATE which I was so happy about. Didn't really talk with the sushi chef... they were in the back after making the rolls. I think it was almost closing time. Good food, chill place, nice service, defintely recommended.

Maybe I'm a sucker for fan favorites. I sure am a fan of going to places recommended by friends, especially when so enthusiastically mentioned. Mind you, I did have a bit of an attitude coming here. When a sushi place isn't AYCE, I expect very high quality food for the money I'll be laying down. So, with the happiness of recommendation and the wariness of quality on my shoulders, I came here with big hopes and low expectations to Sushi Dake. Deco: 4 stars The interior of this restaurant is very unique. With the shades drawn low and the walls lined with mirrors, it gives the illusion of space to this tiny restaurant. Ideally, it fits roughly 30 people, but you wouldn't figure it out unless taking time to look. The sushi bar itself lies in the middle of the restaurant, facing directly at the entrance and this is where most activity lives. If you're a smaller party, a seat with the sushi chefs would be a good choice for added energy. Service: 4 stars As it was repeatedly told to me, this is a family run restaurant where the parents and son take hold of service. Depending on who's in that day, you get different types of atmosphere. When the parents are in, they bring a sense of hospitality similar to how parents welcome their son's friends. Ever inviting and welcoming, the atmosphere is generous, shown by the complimentary edamame at the beginning of the meal and strawberries & cream at the end of it. When the son is in, the feeling is a bit more lax. Hip hop and Top 40 music is usually played instead of the usual classics and oldies pumping through the audio system. However, regardless of who's in charge for the day, the service is friendly, warm, and although a bit slow at times, good. Food: 3 stars With so much going for it from the moment I stepped foot, it was filling the expectations I had for a recommended restaurant. However, the food was next and it would be what made or broke these expectations of mine. So what did it do? It was in the middle. The sushi for the most part was fresh, with the nigiri being of good quality cuts and rice not being too vinegar-y. The rolls were a bit on the whatever side, but at the same time, they didn't give anyone sour faces. The combo plates they had were of good quality as well, but again, a bit disappointing as I felt a bit skimped on portions. However, what really surprised me was how good the udon was. With a rich broth that was literally stewing with flavor, I was caught off guard by how good udon would be at a sushi restaurant. It's something I'd definitely recommend getting to accompany the sushi and rolls you plan on ordering. Price: 3 stars The pricing is similar to most a la carte sushi restaurants, with rolls hovering anywhere between the $8 - $14 mark and nigiri sushi being around $3 - $4, depending on the fish you get. Combo plates are around the $7 mark, and the udon I mentioned above hovers around the $6 mark. Conclusion Sushi Dake did a great job of going above my expectations, albeit not soaring to the clouds. The food was decent, the pricing reasonable, and the atmosphere surprisingly comfortable for this tiny restaurant. However, the thing that will draw you back, and what drew me back, will be the service. With great service, you give a restaurant another chance to wow you. With great service, you give a restaurant another chance to prove you wrong. And with great service, you give an ordinary restaurant another chance to become extraordinary. Sushi Dake most certainly will be an underdog you'll be rooting for.

Deserves all the 4 stars! After a round of golf in the hot hot heat, we were in search for something refreshing to eat. Sushi popped in our heads and search for a place that was nearby. Sushi Dake came up and read some of the reviews and our minds were set. Decor felt welcoming as with most Japanese restaurants. Warm lights and warm colors all around the restaurant kept the mood fairly relaxing with the sushi bar placed at the focal point of the restaurant as you walk in. We were seated right away. The place was full but not crowded. Right when we walked in, two tables were leaving. They cleared it up with the swiftness and sat us down. Service was attentive and quick. They asked us for drinks at first. I have to say, their Sweetened Iced Tea was yummy and was free refill. As for our main entrée, I went with their 20 pc sashimi. Their menu was a little confusing just because they had another set of premium sashimi. We had to ask what the difference was (couldn't figure out of it meant better quality fish, or more expensive fish, or quantity). Our server explained that it was quantity. Their 20 pc sashimi was plenty. We got 5 types of sashimi. My plate was not identical to my buddy's. I had toro (along with Salmon, Tuna, Squid, and yellowtail) while his plate had albacore. The quality of the fish was spot on. No weird after taste that below par sushi placed tend to have. + points for giving us complimentary miso soup and rice with our sashimi order. Will definitely come back!

I love this place. Being new to the area and loving sushi, my girlfriend and I scoured the area for the best sushi and have landed here. We now go once a week, the staff is very kind and the food is excellent. Usually get free miso soup and edemame with meals too! They have specials with amazing new sushi combos (Kiss of Dragon Roll, bring it back!). I would recommend this place to anyone.

Was trying to find a sushi place open at 9pm on sunday night, and what attracted me to this place was that it was like the only sushi place that closes later than most. This place is very tiny, but doesn't feel stuffy or anything. Our server was really good, and always kept asking if we were okay or if we needed more. I was expecting the sushi and sashimi to be kind of not so fresh since we were there pretty late, but i was so wrong. The fish was soo yummy, and I'm not sure what I ate because it was part of a combo but it melted in my mouth like butter. The miso soup was yummy and a great way to start off a meal. The edemame I assume is also good since my date ate all of it in the bowl ( he literally did lol I didn't even get to eat 1), and ending the meal with strawberries with whipped cream on top made the meal even more satisfying. Will definitely come back if I am ever in the area again :)

I noticed a lot of good ratings so I checked it out by ordering two basic rolls - Spicy Tuna and Rainbow. Unfortunately it was OK but nothing special. I will not say anything disparaging as I noticed a lot of young people in the area seem to like it and I can understand that since the prices are reasonable and its not a pretentious atmosphere. However, if you have been lucky enough to have tried high quality sushi at any time you will not be satisfied with this place. Service however was pleasant.

Horrible horrible horrible I waited 30 min just for a refill on my water! The waitress never came by! We had to ask another one as she was passing by! I will never come here again I recommend you go somewhere else if you want to have a nice lunch/dinner!

I'm starting to doubt yelp reviews , we went here because the ratings were good. Apparently all the good review people haven't had a real sushi experience with good quality sushi. I won't ever be going back to this over priced very in organized place . Poor customer service and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. Horrible

So I wanted to try a new sushi place so I went on yelp and found Sushi Dake! The place is sooooo cute. It was super cozy and the servers/chefs were friendly. We sat at the bar and made conversation with the owner, who is also a chef. She was super kind and friendly. It made us feel more comfortable eating there at the bar. The food was REALLY good! We got to try the Love Boat combo, baked green mussels, and the Dynamite Roll. All were so delicious! We had a complimentary bowl of miso for each of us, edamame, and strawberries & whipped cream as a dessert! Perfect touch to the food experience. Overall, the experience was excellent and we will definitely come here again!

This sushi place was awful. Be warned it is not all you can eat despite their advertisement. The food was not fresh at all which is imperative for sushi. The customer service was non existent. Don't waste your money here.

A little slow on the service, nonetheless, very kind & sweet staff. Complimentary appetizers & dessert: edamame, miso soup & strawberries w/ whipped cream! My boyfriend and I shared the philadelphia roll, shrimp killer roll, firecracker roll (my fave out of the four) & baked salmon roll. All rolls were pretty good. The bill came out to $42, which is pretty average for sushi. We'll be back! :)

Great price for good sushi. We visited here while taking a vacation to Disneyland. Coming from Hawaii, we are accustomed to great sushi and Japanese food. The food here is good for California. We got edamame, miso soup for appetizers and a few strawberries with whipped cream for 'dessert'. I would say that the prices are cheap compared to Hawaii and the sushi is pretty good. The owners are Korean, not Japanese, but do a good job with their restaurant.

Came here with my friends on that late night sushi craving / munchies / post workout meal. This place is tiny, and when I say tiny we're talking about a apartment living room tiny. And of course like most of the sushi restaurants it's owned by a Korean fam. However, I was very surprised with the service and especially the food. Considering we came almost an hour before closing time. I ordered the baked lobster roll which was effing awesome. Couple of tuna and salmon sushi which was good but not great. I've noticed a couple of reviews talking about the slow service and yes the service needs attention. The restaurant isn't even big, not even average sized. One server should be able to handle two tables without breaking a sweat. (It was just my friends and another table) I understand you guys are closing in 40 minutes. We were done with the food sitting around for a check or even a refill. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the server was a few feet away from us talking to the chef and some dude from the kitchen. REALLY? You can clearly see we've been sitting for twenty minutes with empty plates and empty drinks. Does it hurt to ask if we're doing okay? But the server was genuinely nice so I was just a LITTLE frustrated. Overall, delicious sushi, nice staff and decent price in Anaheim.

Horrible place for sushi. Bad food and bad service!! The woman chef (owner) is super rude! You would think that the owner cares about good service but it definitely isn't the case here. The food is not good at all. The fish is not fresh and whoever came up with the rolls here doesn't know sushi. Never coming back and don't recommend this place to anyone else.

Can service get any slower? WATER: 10 minutes FRIED LOBSTER ROLL: 20 minutes MIX SHRIMP AND VEGETABLE TEMPURA: 30 minutes UDON: 40 minutes BEEF and CHICKEN THAT GOES WITH UDON: 50 minutes WOW, COULD I BE ANY MORE STARVING after making reservations and still having to wait 15 minutes for a table when I arrived. I can't believe all the orders took them so long to make! Don't order the udon because it takes FOREVER and they'll keep telling you it's coming out soon, but it doesn't for another 15 minutes!!!!! UGH. Then you would think the beef and chicken would come out with the udon because they're the same order, THEY DON'T! It comes when i'm halfway done eating my udon! waiting 40 minutes for a regular sized bowl of udon that didn't even taste good (you would think it'd taste good since I was starving and when you're hungry, everything tastes good) is just a waste of time!

This is my second visit here. This time we arrived before the late night sushi eaters arrived. We were immediately welcomed and seated. The decor right when walk in always annoyed me. They have a TV that was tuned to the news. The waitress was nice and took out drink orders right away. After my girlfriend and I figured out which sushi rolls to order, our waitress took our order and about five minutes later our first two sushi rolls arrived. Then about another five minutes our third roll arrived. We had a shrimp roll, Philadelphia roll, and baked salmon roll. All delicious through out the board. Time-to-time our waitress would check on us. After we were done eating, we enjoyed the complementary whipped cream and sliced strawberries. Overall, not a bad sushi spot.

Make your own rolls? Neat! I'm a fan already. =) I agree with the other reviews, Sushi Dake is a hidden gem. You wouldn't expect much from the outside or the location, but once you walk in there is a nice intimate feel to it. The interior isn't very big so the seating is fairly limited. Bf and I came on a Friday night and it was relatively quiet. They stay open till 12am, so it's a good late night dining option. In addition to rolls and sashimi, the items on the menu do include a variety of appetizers, beef and chicken options, and course selections. I noticed that they had specials posted on the wall that include prix fixe courses. The make your own roll special is $11.99 but the options on there are pretty extensive! And you can get pretty creative! Bf and I decided on the Dake boat. It comes with 36 pieces of sushi for $20. The Dake Boat includes: cucumber, avocado, spicy tuna (they sub yellow tail for us that night instead of the spicy tuna because they had ran out), california roll, tuna roll, and a crunch roll. While these aren't exactly complicated rolls, the fish was fresh and it was a good value. The Dake boat also came with miso soup and we got complimentary edamame and some strawberries for dessert. Everything was really tasty and it was a lot of food! I was stuffed. Service was great. Water was always refilled and even though we stayed till closing we didn't feel rushed to leave. This place is a good option for sushi because it's open late and prices are great.

I love this place!!!! You can make your own rolls for a really cheap price and the service is pretty good as well. The only complaint that I have is that it's so small. But, everyone is really nice and the chefs are great!!!!

Probably 3.5 stars on this one, but rounded up. Fairly good sushi at fair prices. Nothing particularly stood out, and I feel like Yogis Grill might be a better value because their rolls taste better and are about the same price. I would highly recommend their salmon rolls instead of getting the sashimi. For about the same price as 2 orders of sashimi, I think you get more salmon out of it. Since everything was fairly average, I would have given this place 3 stars if it wasn't for the nice extras they gave. Free edamame, miso soup, and strawberries and whipped cream is just pure genius. It really enhances the eating experience and I'm sure they're not that much of an extra cost to the owner. The edamame was cooked very well and the strawberries were fairly fresh. They started the dinner off right and ended the dinner perfectly. Kudos to Sushi Dake on that, and hence why the extra 0.5 star, rounded up.

I am so happy to find out about this place whenever my husband and I want to go out and have a late night sushi dinner for 2! We've tried ordering almost all of their menu, and I say it's above decent for the price and portion sizes. We both love their hot green tea, especially on a cold evening. The atmosphere is in a small little place, but still relaxing and friendly. I never have a hard time getting the food server's attention.

I used to go to Maki Yaki but one day we went to Maki and they were closed at 5pm ??? Did a google search for a sushi place near by and Sushi Dake came up. I was pleasantly surprised by the great service and their selection. The best sushi that I personally have ever had. If any one know of somewhere better let me know.

First time there last night and I will definitely be coming back! Unfortunately they do not offer AYCE which is what I generally came for but the sushi was fresh and delicious! We ordered oyster shooters which came in two tall wine looking glasses, the shrimp boat, salmon, white tuna and albacore sashimi. The food was delicious! The sashimi was sliced thick and a little big compared to other places. My favorite was the shrimp boat! The service was awesome, out server and who appeared to be a sushi chef (also a woman) were super friendly!

This place is excellent on every level. The sushi was so fresh and delicious. The prices are average. The inside is very elegant with a low noise level. Artwork on the walls. And all the employees are super nice and sweet. We got peas in a pod with salt as an appetizer (it tastes better than it sounds. I promise!). And at the end of our meal we got strawberries and whipped cream :) a very cute detail, I think.

Excellent service and the sushi rolls were very good. The only thing I would say was a negative is that one of our three orders of salmon sashimi was a but stringy.

Where do I start? Walked in was greeted and sat immediately which was a great, server took out orders, we ordered two rolls, an jalapeño popper appetizer, and two water. That's where it went down hill, we got out rolls before we got our waters, we actually had to ask for them. Half way done with our rolls and here comes out the appetizer which I'm pretty sure usually comes before meals, anyways they looked amazing we started to dig In and as me and my friend took our first bite before I could say exactly what I was thinking, I saw her face. I understand that the jalapeño poppers have spicy tuna but holy cow these poppers tasted like fish, BAD FISH. Two bites and we had to tap out a few mins later I had to flag down our waitress and I tell her that it taste like bad fish. Her response was "it's cooked" uh. What? Regardless cooked or not the taste is bad. She then says word for word "we have a policy and we still have to charge you" okay no homegirl you will not charge me for something that taste horrible that is your fault. So after taking no for an answer she brings the menu and says "go ahead and order something else. We look at the menu and make a quick decision, 10 mins later here she comes. No thanks, now we just want to go home so I say nevermind, can you bring us our check, 5 mins after that A totally new looking server comes and drops it off, look at the bill and of course the damn poppers are still on the check, after waiting another what? 5 mins I have to flag her down again and tell her that I'm not paying for that. She picks it up with an attitude and comes back and puts it on the table. Uhhh screw you too! Sushi wasnt bad, it really wasnt but after telling me she was still going to charge me and really trying to play me as a fool with having another server drop off the check in hopes that we wouldn't notice. Being a server myself its sooo annoying. How hard is it to really let a manger know? To void it off, the damn fish was bad and I swear I wasn't even mad about that. It's okay. All for trying to get 8$ out of me you'll never seeing another penny.

Found this place randomly on yelp, and decided to try it for my birthday. Called ahead, made a reservation, and came there to be seated at a table with a cute little reserved sign. I tried the energy roll, baked lobster roll, and salmon sashimi. My friend complained (in a good way) that the rolls made her feel extremely stuffed. I guess she didn't appreciate how they were filled with just crab and avocado, but it's okay Sushi Dake, I appreciate you for not loading my rolls up with cucumber and whatnot! My only complaint was my tea was lukewarm. I ordered it because I wanted something hot to drink, but the instead received room temperature tea. I probably should have complained, but my waitress was so friendly I felt bad for doing so.

Cool hole in the wall for late night sushi and beer. Came in during a weeknight, and the place is quaint and has a sushi bar as the main focus of the room. I ordered yellow tail sushi, salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, and udon noodle. The fish were very fresh and that yellow tail is bomb. Service was nice, and they have is free dessert which was strawberry topped with whip cream.

We drive all the way from Alhambra to indulge in this hidden gem. It is situated in a small shopping center so parking isn't a problem here. The sashimi (salmon..albacore....halibut..tuna.. yum!) here is to die for!!! Personally I don't enjoy rolls that have too much sauce because I want to taste my fish. We usually have the baked scallops, phili roll, and miso soup. There is also a free dessert that it served when the check arrives. A small portion of fresh strawberries topped with whipped cream! What a great way to end a geat meal! Ohhh and I can't emphasize enough how great the service is. Waitresses are on it! The wrap up: Parking: Easy Food: Delicious Service: Couldn't be better Prices: Reasonable Overall we can't get enough of this place and we will continue to make the drive!

Wow this place so horrible. Such bad service! I had to wait 30 minutes just for my first roll. When I finally got my food, it tasted so bad. It was not fresh at all. One of the rolls, I only ate one piece because it was so bad and I told the server I didn't want to pay for something I didn't enjoy. But the owner refused to remove it from the tab. DO NOT COME HERE. bad food, bad service...

We came here for dinner a couple nights ago. Upon walking towards the front door, I felt a little uneasy. The parking lot was dark and too quiet. When we walked in, we were immediately seated but the restaurant was quite dim. The waitress gave us the menu & an order sheet and told us to look at the pictures on the wall to see what the sushi rolls would look like. Since the restaurant was so dim, I had a hard time reading the description so I gave up and just read off the menu instead. When we finally decided what to order, we didn't know how to fill out the order form. The whole ordering system was so confusing. They had a "make your own sushi roll" order form but it stated something like "don't write on this form". Therefore, we just flagged down the waitress and asked her for help. She grabbed me an erasable marker and left. We finally settled with a bento (chicken teriyaki with California roll), a tempura shrimp appetizer and 2 sushi rolls (make your own). After the waitress took our order, she asked us how many miso soup we wanted. Since there were four of us, we told her four soups. While drinking our soup, the shrimp appetizer came and each shrimp was really tiny. Then our sushi rolls came. It was okay but each ingredient lacked flavor. After finishing one sushi roll and the shrimp appetizer, my husband's bento finally came. I don't remember how much the bento was, but the portions of the chicken teriyaki was tiny. It was literally a few bites and we're done. When we were finally done eating, we asked for our check. While waiting for our check, the waitress gave us dessert (one strawberry with whip cream). When I got our check, we decided to pay our bill with cash and I told the waitress, "we need change" and she must of heard "keep the change" because she never came back to give us our change. I even stared at her for a while and she ignored me. We were so disappointed in the whole experience, we just left. The waitress ended up getting 40% in tips and she definitely didn't deserve that much. We will never come back to this place again.

Good Fresh sushi, very friendly and helpful wait staff. Kid friendly. Ate here at 9:30 on a Monday night after Disneyland with my family of 5, still 60% full, still getting calls for take out, a good sign of the offering. Don't be fooled by the strip mall, the food is worth it. Clean and neat restaurant, kitchen, and bathrooms. The killer shrimp roll was tasty. The kids loved the strawberries and whipped cream that came with the bill.

What I love about sushi dake is the environment. I would give the atmosphere a 5/5 and the food a 3.5/5. It has dark wood floors and a dark wood bar. It is dimly lit and decorated with japanese decor. It is a typical sushi bar with the bar in the middle and a sushi chef there preparing sushi. The service is always good and the sushi is average or maybe a little above average. This will always be my go-to sushi bar if I'm in the mood to hangout and relax while passing some time.

I'm a HUGE fan of this place. Ever since my first visit, this is now my go-to for sushi when I'm home. It's clean, small, and has a super comfy feel. I stuck to the usual menu rolls - no make-your-own rolls for me. I get chirashi at all sushi places I eat at, but this one's was, by far, the most spectacular. The ratio of sashimi to veggies/rice was the best I've had. Usually I get stuck with more rice than everything else... I also highly recommend the Baked Dynamite roll. It's amazing! Give it some time to cool a little if you don't like it that hot, but do not try to save it for later! It cools down relatively fast and when it's not warm anymore it's pretty ick. The service here is okay. I come for the awesome sushi. I usually have to wait a long time for the rolls to get out (and the water + appetizers too), but after they get the first item out, everything else comes relatively quick. The sushi quality makes up for the wait time anyway. The waitress is very, very attentive. They keep an eye on you and I never had to wait more than a minute to flag someone down for service. In conclusion: one of the very few sushi places I find that's worth the $$!

The mixed reviews made me hesitant to try this spot. I can say that those who are pleased with this place got it right. The rolls are very delicious. The quality of sushi isn't the best of the best but it is definitely great quality. The price is amazing, and free miso soup and a strawberries and whip cream dessert. Wait staff was attentive and engaged with us. Great decoration of the place, dark wood and really small and cozy. Spicy tuna tempura and dragon roll were boh great. Able to have a full meal for two including tip for $40. Definitely a spot worth checking out, don't expect something out of this world and this place may surprise you for better than you think.

0 stars for their sushi, but 1 star for their friendly service. I really don't understand how this place can have a 4 star average! This place is located in an empty looking plaza, but I had high hopes for it because of the reviews on Yelp. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly with a cheerful "Hi!" which gave me a good feeling about the service, but the sushi here is absolutely terrible. We ordered the crunch roll, the energy roll, and some raw tuna and salmon sushi. The energy roll was advertised as a shrimp tempura roll with avocado on top, but it actually had some type of cooked eel on top, which my girlfriend does not like. Not only that, but it didn't have a good flavor - the tempura used at this location tastes like oil and nothing else. The crunch roll was kind of good, but again, the tempura tasted like oil, and it was unlike any other tempura on sushi I've ever had. Not good. What was really horrible and upsetting, though, was the raw sushi. I love raw salmon and tuna, and I get it at every sushi place I go to. No sushi place I've ever gone to has gotten this type of sushi wrong. But the raw sushi here is horrible. The tuna was ok, but it was really bland. The salmon one, though, was SO thick, it still had STRINGY pieces in it which I had to chew through. I felt like someone just took a slab of salmon, cut it into random THICK pieces and gave it to me. It was disgusting. The people here are very nice, and I loved the free edemame and strawberry dessert at the end, but that does not make up for the horrible sushi.
