Great place! Someone mentioned earlier that the chicken is greasy; I would have to disagree. It is rotiessiere (sp) chicken at it's finest. The chicken is great and the potato salad is excellent as well. I always get it to go but it should be safe to eat in there, I mean I can understand that a girl would want to be in a super safe location when eating alone, but this should be safe enough, especially during the day. : ) The prices are very good also. It doesnt have as much variety as El pollo loco, but it is a great alternative.

Best chicken teriyaki bowls in the world ! Their burgers are super delicious Cashier is always super nice!

There aren't many rotisserie chicken places anymore and I found this place on Yelp. It isn't as good as Juan Pollo, but it'll do. We had the mini pack and the chicken was kind of small. It was tender and juicy and flavor was decent. The potato salad is only ok (again, not as good as Juan Pollo). Salsa was whatever. Megh. I'd come again, but it's not at the top of my list.

Another solid help from Yelpers. I'm from Valencia, CA and just celebrated my daughter's birthday at Johns Incredible. I was looking for a family deal to bring for a small gathering at my sisters house and was contemplating between Juan Pollo and this place King Pollo. Though Juan Pollo has multiple branches it seems that the percentage of having more 5 star reviews are leaning more to King Pollo. So I ordered the 2 whole chicken deal and WOW it was amazing! I can't say crunchy from the outside but definitely juicy from the inside. Salsa was so delicious that you can taste the freshness. Also, the potato salad and chicken flavored rice including the tortilla is perfect match with their chicken. Before I forget, excellent customer service. Cashier help me patiently choosing alternative side order since I didn't get the beans to go with it. It's a must try! Will be back if we're in the area again.

I love this place. Teriyaki, burgers, chicken salads and also the chicken it self with rice and beans. I love the potato salad. The owner is so friendly he is always so nice. We love this place so much.

Chicken teriyaki or any special plate is always worth it and the price speaks competitive and cost efficient for the broke wallets. I never bought for a party but the portions and size looks amazing for a group. I always walk in and see someone walking out with a big order like that...

This place is known for it's whole chickens, which taste great, but I like the teriyaki chicken plate even better. It's served over rice with a side of lettuce. There is ranch dressing and teriyaki sauce on the side. The combination of the chicken, rice and lettuce tastes great. I don't know any teriyaki place that makes a better teriyaki plate. I usually order to go and my order is ready in about 5 minutes or less.

The chicken is amazing! The rice is good too with a side of salsa. I will try the chicken teriyaki next time it looks good!

I could imagine El Pollo Loco being like this before it blew up into a super sized fast food chain. Don't get me wrong, I love me some of that charbroiled goodness with some Tastee Freeze to finish off the night...there's just something about this place, that does just enough more. The meat's just a bit juicier on the inside, just a bit crunchier on the outside. The pico de gallo has that much more fresher feel and zip to the cilantro like someone just picked them at a farm. And with a 6.99 special and 21.99 family meals, the price is right. Solid place all around.

Soooo good! Love the rotisserie chicken and hot salsa here. The rice and potato salad as sides are my favorite. I will be back!

  • Wendy B.

This place is horrible. I would give it no stars, if I could. The tacos were served on hard corn tortillas, and they were filled with cartilage and skin from the chicken. It was very gross, and the owner was very rude and refused to give me a refund. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Staff is extremely nice. Been here a few times. Always great and friendly. Great chicken. Great for parties. Always get compliments on their food. They take the time to show you the complete order before you leave to make sure they covered everything.

Just had their lunch combo again. It's really juicy!! Definitely worth driving during lunch break. The workers were very friendly when I asked for more napkin wipes. Don't bother going to el pollo loco next door, definitely go here for better food and better price.

Based on a larger order... We decided to cater teriyaki chicken for church and it was an excellent decision. First you figure with larger order the flavor will lack but nope! It was delicious and everyone really enjoyed it. Personally I preferred to skip the sauce because it was as good as is and potato salad was my personal favorite. To top it off they gave us very generous amount and the service was top notch!

It is a juan pollo knock off but I'm okay with that since the food is pretty much the same and so are the lunch specials.

Looking for a quick bite on a Sunday night, we stumbled upon King Pollo. After verifying the Yelp reviews, we decided to bite the bullet and try it out. I love these small random places in Anaheim that aren't in the best neighborhoods, but delivery consistenly good, reasonably priced food. I got the dinner special which came with a leg quarter and I think some white meat as well. You also get some sides with it like rice, mashed potatoes, and tortillas, but the star was definitely the chicken. If you can get a half chicken or a whole chicken, I'd get that. I'm a huge meat eater though, so depending on how much chicken you can devour (and I can devour a ton), it might be perfect for you. This place reminds me of an El Pollo Loco, but the chicken is SO much better. It's more juicy and flavorful since it's rotisserie and not grilled. I'm definitely coming back for more! If you're craving good chicken and you're in the area, check it out!

I reserve 5 Stars for the Best in Show & in my opinion these guys put El Pollo Loco to shame. Even the other rotisserie chicken place can't match the tenderness of the meat and crispness of the skin. I only wish there was one closer to home.

    (5)
  • Sean S.

The food here is very inexpensive and affordable. The chicken is marinated and cooked rotisserie style. The chicken has good flavor, but is cooked really well. It's not super dry, only on the wing, but that is to be expected with this type of preparation. I might remove the chickens a little sooner so that they are a bit juicier and moist. It's a very simple place with a walk-up counter and a few booths, but the guy running the place was nice enough and like I said, the prices are great.

Best teriyaki chicken ever! Ive moved to three different states and can't find it anywhere else like king pollos!

I eat here at least once a week. I get the whole chicken with corn tortilla & spicy salsa. I ask for extra salsa cause I love to drench my chicken in that fresh & tangy pico de gallo mixture. Any left over chicken works great the next day for a salad. Chicken is always tender & flavorful. Service is always friendly & quick. I highly recommend King Pollo for a quick, easy & inexpensive meal.

Not too bad. My boyfriend loves Juan Pollo, so I thought we would try this. He liked it but not as much. All in all it was good and decently priced. It's right by my house so I'm sure I'll be back.

First time here and I'm glad to announce that I have just added King Pollo to my WORK LUNCH ROTATION. Quick rundown: It's located in a strip mall on State College Blvd in Anaheim by La Palma. It's not a pretty place and looks suspect. Shout out to the PINOY Market next door. Once you go in, it ain't too bad. Everything is dated but you didn't come here for the décor. You are here for one thing.. the CHICKEN. Don't mind the 1980's colored booths. With the off the wall mini chandeliers. It's a trip. But the joint is clean and the service is excellent. Very friendly. First time here for lunch so I opt for the $6.99 Lunch special. Comes with their killer chicken, tortillas, a mini cup of rice, potato salad, beans and a larger cup for the salsa. Definitely a great buy and total deal for what you get. They are very generous with their chicken. The skin is amazing.. it's so healthy too. Ok.. I made that part up. But damn.. it's the best part. Roll it with your tortilla and smother it with that salsa. Take a bite and chase it with some beans and rice. This chicken blows away El Pollo. It's like El Pollo on crack. Now, if they came up with some garlic sauce with this chicken.. Zankou better watch out! So.. let's review. The place is hood. But clean and service is exceptional. Chicken is top notch. Juicy and crunchy and flavorful. They are now part of my lunch time rotation.. a solid 4 stars! Extra points for the Korean lady who speaks fluent spanish! Up next..their chicken burrito!

they have a GREAT lunch special for 6.99 folks. chicken, tortilla, salsa, beans, rice and potato salad! the potato salad is so random, but so delicious dude! more than enough food for one person, and at 6.99 it's a deal! the chicken was super juicy and tender. perfectly cooked, not too greasy, and the meat just fell of the bone. the rice, beans and salsa were also yummy and perfect to create tacos with. the potato salad. i'm not sure what it was but i loved it. they have a sign on their soda machine that says 1 free refill only, so fyi for all you soda guzzlers! not sure how much they keep to the rule but it's on there. they have sriracha bottles you can use to your hearts content! they also have a full menu so if you're craving a burger or something else you can do eeeeeeeeeet! it's old and kinda worn down inside but it adds character hehe. definitely will return!

I just got this a few days ago & im craving it real bad right now! ordered the combo = 2 halves chicken, salsa, rice, beans, tortilla, (choose flour over corn, it taste better & it's soft!) potato salad, all for $13!! the chicken was very juicy & tender. the skin was crispy & delicious. potato salad was decent. great as chicken tacos.

  • Khush B.

Mmmmm.. craved to get some serious protein, & so King Pollo was the closest place in getting some of that. My cuzzo ordered the half-order chicken combo (that came with potato salad, beans, rice, and salsa) and I ordered a chicken taco (that came with just chicken and salsa). If you want a little kick in your meat, drizzle some of that hot sauce - a simple recipe yet a pretty explosive taste!

This small business always leaves me more than satisfied. My family and I always buy a whole chicken family combo. The chicken is perfect and flavorful. The staff are friendly and your food is served promptly. Also this place is very affordable. If this place was in a better location, it would get the business it deserves.

Pretty cool place, and their rotisserie chicken is definitely one of the best I've had. If I were to rate their rotisserie chicken alone, this place would be 4 stars. Unfortunately, their other stuff's pretty lacking. First off, very small selection on sodas, which is an odd thing to review, I think, but when you are used to certain standard drinks at a soda fountain, it's odd to see it when they're not there. For example, no root bear or Dr. Pepper (or similar). Good thing I don't drink soda, but I figured it'd be good to let others know. Their sides left a lot to be desired. Their rice and beans were OK. Their potato salad was blah. Their teriyaki chicken was better, but not the best I've had. To compare with El Pollo Loco, I think this is indeed a little better. But El Pollo Loco has much better sides. And churros. I think what they need to do is NOT copy El Pollo Loco. Make it a hearty American family style restaurant. Serve your chicken on a plate with a side of mashed potatoes, corn, and stuffing. I think I'd enjoy that more. Ambiance is alright. Your standard diner style with some funky lighting. Service is average. Nothing that stood out. At the end of the day, this is just a cheap place for mildly good food. I'll probably come back, but wouldn't suggest going out of your way to come here.

My husband and I were looking for a place to have dinner and after seeing all the good reviews on here we decided to give it a try, best decision ever! The chicken is beyond good the sides are a little small but honestly with all that chicken I barely even finished the sides. The service is really friendly. We loved it so much we came back the next day for lunch with our family. It has a nice home cooked meal taste, very satisfying to our stomachs.

Yes the place is a little ghetto but the food is fresh and the prices are awesome. I bought half-a-chicken with tortilla for $4.99. The combo is about $6.00.

My favorite place for Teriyaki chicken. Flame Broiler or Waba have nothing on King Pollo. The food is great and price appropriately. I usually get a Teriyaki chicken but their rotisserie chicken is the best, super tender juicy, great flavor. Potatoes salad, pinto beans, fresh salsa and chicken rice are fantastic. The employees are very nice and friendly!

I love chicken. I saw the reviews and had to give it a try yesterday while in the neighborhood. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly woman behind the counter and she offered me menu options. I chose a half chicken with corn tortillas, salsa and drink. It was 6.99. Right off I am a lil perturbed because my friend just ordered the half chicken, rice, beans, salsa, tortillas and drink for the same price. I feel as though I am being punished for not wanting sides. We sit and are quickly brought our orders which were hot, steaming piles of beautiful chicken. Please understand, this is rotisserie. Not flame grilled. Its ROASTED chicken. It was very moist and soft. It was good but there was no glaze or marination that had taken place so it was just plain: roasted chicken. I didnt panic because I had salsa. I think this place being so popular cant keep up with the demand of the customers because their tomatoes looked white/pink. Not ripe or ready at all. The salsa was more like tomato water and quite bland. I added tapatio-which isnt my first spice option but mixed with the tomato water I was better off. The half chicken was very filling ad the corn tortillas I had were good. Comparing this place to El Pollo Loco is just plain dumb. El Pollo Loco flame grills their chicken. This place roasts it. Both good options but no comparison. The joint appeared very clean and the employees kept their smiles so all in all it was a pleasant experience.

I had eaten here once before and I had ordered the Teriyaki plate. It was ok but not something that would draw me back. I wanted chicken for lunch today and recalled King Pollo. I came on yelp and saw how everyone enjoyed their rotisserie chicken on their lunch combo. I thought I would give this place another try. I arrived and was greeted with a smile and great service. I ordered my lunch special for 6.99. Wow I was so impressed lots of food! Its a great deal. The chicken was really tender and fell of the bone and was well seasoned. I was so full after eating just the chicken so I only tasted the beans...very good too! I'll save and eat them later with the rice :) The potato salad i think is Korean style and I think way better than some American versions! Even though I was full I ate the cup of it...it was that yummy. I will definitely come back more often!

  • JAvier C.

the chicken gets five stars but because of the sides, it gets 3. The chicken is very good, the meat comes right off the bone, juicy and fresh. The sides are nothing to brag about. The rice can be dry just like the potato salad. Their HOT salsa is no where near mild. Good prices, the staff is friendly and your food is delivered quick.

I Yelped this place and saw the great ratings. 40-something people can't be wrong. Or can they????? Service was great, people were nice. If you've had Juan Pollo before, you will not like this place. The chicken was flavored a citrusy flavor, even a little sweet. I am a salty kind of girl and was not the flavor I would expect from rotisserie chicken. The potato salad was bland and dry. I didn't even try the beans. $6.99 for a lunch special includes a drink, 1/2 chicken, potato salad, beans, salsa and tortillas, no rice. Unfortunately, I won't be going back. I will stick with Juan Pollo for my rotisserie fixes.

their teriyaki chicken is twice the size than from flame broiler chicken bowl & for the same price!

how is this place getting 4 and 5 stars for their chicken? picked up a whole chicken for $8. first off, the bag was much lighter than expected - wasn't sure if I had received the correct order so I checked it and sure enough there were 2 halves of a chicken inside the styrofoam container. however, those halves were small and shriveled up and just looking at it, i could already tell it was going to be dry. the supermarket rotisserie chickens at least look juicy and have a decent heft to them. this one, although it smelled good, did not look juicy or moist at all and probably weighed about a pound, bones and all. well, then it must taste good, right? to be honest...the skin was flavorful, but the meat lacked any taste and was like chewing chicken jerky. it was like the complete opposite of costco's nasty fatty oilyness that they pass off as rotisserie chicken. this chicken was way overcooked and not tasty to boot. first and last time i'll be going there.

It is Rotisserie, and all that rotisserie is cracked up to be. In an establishment where you see items served at a Mexican Juan Pollo and at a Japanese Teriyaki House you get mucho flavor. The chicken itself is not to moist, just moist enough, the meat, more tender than most. The flavor hits every piece of the chicken. the rest the rice was ok, corn tortillas were good, and salsa too. I need to try the teriyaki bowl next time. Almost on the corner of State College & La Palma, by the 91 frwy, this place has ample parking. The service was very freindly and very fast without sacrificing taste or accuracy. There were plenty of tables to sit down and eat, clean, good temp and a nice soda fountain to serve yourself, which we did. I will be back, maybe even for some more chicken, it was good.

  • Liz T.

Interesting... asian fusion rotisserie chicken...I had the chicken burrito and it was like a couple pounds heavy. Chicken was fresh and tasty, the chicken burrito was good, not too many additives so it tastes like a home made burrito fresh, simple and good. Great deals and I would recommend sharing or being really hungry when going!

Tried this place several years ago; didn't care for it. Noticed a change of ownership, saw some positive reviews - gave them another try. Still didn't care for the food - would have given them 1 star, but since that is equal to "no stars" - gave them credit for friendly service, and the chicken was tender. Contrary to what others have written, this place is a wanna be EPL. I am a big fan of EPL's food (although their service varies by location), so I will review KP as compared to EPL. I agree with one reviewer that 4 stars is way overrated, almost everyone was not happy with their sides so I don't see how they rate them so high. OK so here goes: Chicken - moist and tender like I said, but not as flavorful as EPL, and the skin is not crispy. My wife did not care for it at all, I thought it was ok. They are use really small chickens!! You can get a whole or half chicken, and it seems fine, but when you look at the individual pieces you see how small it really is. The leg was close to the size of the "drummets" found on chicken wings. The wing is so small it's a waste. course. you need a good size chicken to get adequate thigh meat - my favorite part - again I was disappointed. With the small volume of business you can't order 6 thighs like we usually do at EPL, and if we could have we would have been bummed at the size. Advantage = EPL Beans- Not as good, they have small, possibly dehydrated onions in the sauce. EPL has a chile in their sauce, more flavorful and closer to the flavor profile of chicken with tortillas and salsa. They don'toffer the smokey black beans. Advantage: EPL by far! . Rice- they serve plain white rice. Not bad, would be preferred with Teriyaki chicken but "Spanish style" rice is a better fit for this style. Advantage EPL by a bit. Other sides- hardly anyone seems to like the potato salad, and I only eat potato salad that my wife or I make @ home. EPL has macaroni and cheese and corn, not a fan of EPL potato's. Advantage = EPL by a bunch!! Salsa- they have spicy and mild, tried both, not nearly as good as EPL's house salsa, and EPL has hotter versions if needed. KP's version of spicy was not spicy, what I thought was going to be habaneros turned out to be carrots, and I was not a fan of the carrots in the salsa going on the chicken. Threw most of it away. Advantage: EPL by a landslide! Rest of menu: EPL has more items and those items fit into the style of menu; for example - quesadillas, carnets and steak/fish taco's. KP offers teriyaki chicken, chicken sandwiches and burgers. Have not tried them - but the burgers and chicken sandwiches look like an afterthought on the menu, this did not inspire any confidence that I would be served cheap, frozen patties. The teriyaki chicken looked good, but if I was getting asian I would go somewhere else where I can get other asian food items. Not a cohesive menu. Advantage: EPL wins again. Service: Fast and friendly at KP. EPL can be inconsistent by location, but they do have drive throughs at most which is a plus. Advantage: King Pollo KP did have OC Health Dept. Excellence Awards for 2007,8 and 9. I wanted to like this place but the food didn't measure up. Many of the 4 star reviews for this place are saying things like "decent and fills me up" " this place isn't too bad" - with some ok sides and some bad ones - not really 4 star worthy in my opinion. Unfortunately, I will not be giving them a 3rd try.

I'm not Korean, but I think I love Koreans--not in a weird, fetish way. They make great bbq, sushi, and rotisserie chicken--their women are pretty hot too, but we can discuss that in a future thread. Service - Excellent - this is a mom and pop place and the Korean lady always gives me a nice greeting. Cleanliness - Excellent - very clean Price - $7.60 ($6.99 lunch special + tax) Seafood - n/a Meats - Chicken, hence King Pollo (pollo is Spanish for chicken =P) Dessert - n/a Fruits - n/a Other - What was ordered: Lunch Special (6.99) - is composed of half a chicken that comes with white rice, potato salad, beans, salsa (choice of mild or hot), 3 tortillas (flour or corn), and a 21 oz fountain soda. Let me break it down for you: Half Chicken - it is just straight bomb and healthy. Beautiful, dark, golden, crispy chicken skin--it is a work of art. You open that chicken up and you see this wonderful moist, white meat. Cluck cluck, boy did it taste wonderful as well. The crispy and flavorful skin along with the moist, white meat is a flavor explosion in your mouth--don't get raunchy thoughts, okay?. White Rice - what can I say about rice, but that is white and it's rice. I'll just give it props because I like how they cooked the rice--not too dry and not too moist either. Potato salad - wonderful potato salad made with carrots, chives, and black olives. I must say this is my favorite potato salad because of the black olives. If I was ever on The Best Thing I Ever Ate on the Food Network, I would talk about this potato salad. That is what's up. Beans - who would of thought Koreans could make beans--that wasn't a dig, don't flag me ... I really do love ya'll. These beans were good--good texture, right consistency, and tender. How to put it all together for an awesome wrap? (1) Layout flour tortilla (or corn), (2) put out 2 small spoonfuls of white rice, (3) shred up the chicken and put as much as you prefer, (4) get a fork and fish out some salsa (any amount you want), and (5) wrap that sucker up and put it in your mouth (don't forget to chew). It's heavenly goodness. Mad props for the K's for awesome rotisserie chicken. Last advice ... stay away from the North and don't buy a Hyundai or Kia--I'm absolutely kidding ... or am I?

On my weekly rotation. If you hit the gym and you want to get trim, then you know you needs to chew your proteins! Whole rotisserie chicken for $8.09 including tax pound for pound the best bang for your buck for bird. They got some nice homemade mild red salsa and pico de gallo that pairs like P.B.&J!

Company had King Pollo catered for a safety luncheon. Had the chicken, rice, beans, potato salad and tortillas. I really liked the taste of everything. I'm not a huge fan of potato salad, but I still thought it was very flavorful. My favorite was the rice. As a Mexican Fusion type of place, the rice was not your typical Mexican rice. It is more like asian sticky rice. But there were pieces of chicken and green onion (not sure if it was green onion or something else) in it to give flavor. I loved it. From looking at the reviews, it doesn't look like there is much more offered on the menu so I probably won't be visiting this place often. If you've never had it, I would give it a try at least once!

This place sucks! The chicken had little flavor and was disappointed with their salsa. The rice was decent and so were the beans. I'll never go back, I should've just driven to Juan Pollo...

What a nice surprise. From the outside, this place is pretty unassuming, but you could tell it had been there awhile. This is usually the sign of a place that has survived the years based on it's food, and not its decor. As I was in Anaheim for the weekend, I was looking for something a little more "Home Made" and figured this might fit the bill. I must say I was surprised to see that a place called the "Pollo King" would be fully staffed by Asians and not Hispanics. Despite the initial ethnic confusion, I decided to go for the daily special "1/2 chicken plate", and took it to go (not much ambiance in the seating area). The meal was absolutely delicious! It was almost exactly the same "Chicken, Beans, and Rice" meal I had enjoyed all over Puerto Rico a few years back. The Chicken had an excellent flavor, and the beans were cooked perfectly. They also added a potato salad unlike any I had ever had (made with green onions, black olives, and shredded carrots). Initially I was skeptical (carrots in potato salad?), but it was equally delicious. I will definitely visit this place again, next time I'm in the area.

Natalie had been here a lot when she was a kid, so we decided to swing by after I played a hockey game nearby. From the exterior, it doesn't stand out at all. Once inside, you could tell not much had probably changed since Natalie had last been there, many many moons ago. The owner took our order and was extremely friendly. I ordered a chicken burger and Natalie got the lunch special - a half chicken with rice, beans, potato salad and salsa. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the chicken was moist and delicious. All in all, the place was pretty good. If I were in the area I'd go back, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

If you want to eat great chicken and see what El Pollo Loco is trying to be, then you need to eat this chicken. My wife used to love El Pollo Loco. Now she has me drive 20 minutes out of the way for King Pollo. It's much less expensive too. Best value for your chicken dollar.

Couldn't find a spot to eat and decided to come here. The chicken was fresh and tasty but the sides I got were horrible. I order the mini combo which came with a whole chicken, beans, rice and potato salad. I don't like beans, the rice was a sticky asian rice you order for dessert at Thai restaurants. The potato salad was not fresh and it was more like yellow mashed potatos. The cook should be shot. I would not come back.

Come in here with $7, get the lunch special and you're set. Great food and they keep the same consistency on their food every time.

This is just for the chicken teriyaki. It is very addicting. I have cravings for it. Never use the sauce just eat it the way it is. This place has decent priced for lunch. I did try their chicken meal and it was also good but I will always go for the teriyaki since it's so good. The interior of the place is nothing to get excited about. Just like any other hole in the wall the seats are plastic and kind of uncomfortable. But no complaint on what matters most!!!

Apparently itty bitty double fried chicken isn't the only thing Koreans are good at. They also make some mean rotisserie chicken. Say it with me. Ruhtisa'ry Chiggin. Mmmm, it just sounds more tantalizing that way. On a poster hanging on the side of the borderline dilapidated building, they claim to have "the best rotisserie chicken in the town" and they aren't lying. Upon walking inside, the decor looks no better than an Alberto's knock off that you'd only eat late at night. The $5.99 lunch special gets you half a chiggin, several tortillas and small cups of potato salad, beans, rice and salsa. The chiggin is only slightly greasy with lots of tender meat. And just as another reviewer has stated, places like Juan Pollo or El Pollo Loco should really take notes how King Pollo does chiggin. I'd write something more about this place, but I'm going out for lunch now. Sorry.

I won't lie, I drive by this place nearly everyday and it looks a little sketchy! But once you're inside and greeted by two asian ladies and the sweet smell of rotisserie chicken all the unease will instantly go away. Their lunch special is the best, it comes with: half a rotisserie chicken, potato salad, rice, salsa, tortilla, and a drink for 7 bucks! The chicken is super tender and literally just falls off the bone. This place is way better and authentic than El Pollo Loco that just opened up close by.

had this place at at office a while a go and was hooked. The chicken is hands down the best rostierre chicken I have ever had!1 SUPER TENDER JUICY AND GREAT flavor. Their lunch special is a great deal, I love their potatoe salad, beans and salda. HEck the whole things is bomb!

So picture this... you are craving rotisserie chicken of the "homemade" kind. You spot this joint, and everything seems as it should.... Chicken meals on the menus.... lots of mexicans waiting for their order, a slightly dingy floor and two cashiers in Spanish-only mode... except... wait a minute, these cashiers are not only English speaking, but they are Korean! Yes, two Korean women & one Mexican is all it takes to run a chicken joint these days. And I gotta say, it was a sight to see! I heard Korean, Spanish & English all in one little chicken place. The chicken was good. Idk about prices, it was $13 for a whole chicken, a tub of salsa and a small tiny tub of beans. I thought that was fine. Idk if I was robbed or if it was deal of century though. I would def come back here. Good chicken. and pretty tasty beans too!

"I am El Caliente, Master of the El Pollo Loco flame." Well, apparently not, since you just got out classed by some Ko-reans!! This is pretty much El Pollo Loco on crack. Same shiz: chicken, tortilla, salsa, rice and beans. Ten times better. The chicken is literally fall off the bone. You don't even need utensils. And the salsa is also pretty ridonk. Go here. Now!

The chicken at this place was very good. They have a very good lunch special which is half chicken with potato salad, rice, beans and some salsa and tortillas. The chicken was very good. had great flavor and very tender and moist. The sides were okay too. I enjoy the rice the most the other sides were fine too. Decent place for lunch

Our family loves the chicken and loves the sides. The rice is not Spanish rice, but it is a hit at our house. I like the potato salad because it is more of a mayonnaise base than a vinegar base. The beans are boiled beans rather than refried beans. They give a generous supply of either flour or corn tortillas that are fresh and warm. Choice of hot or mild salsa with other condiments available. We have been going there for many years. The woman who started King Pollo was Asian (Chinese I think) and is not the current owner. She had worked for the founder of Juan Pollo. (My father wandered into King Pollo one day many years ago and commented to the owner that the food tasted like Juan Pollo. She told him she used to work for Juan Pollo and thus the similarity). Juan Pollo is a chain started by a Japanese man. Most of the stores are in San Bernardino and Riverside counties but there is one at Beach & Ball Rd. The food is almost identical. When we have a family gathering and don't feel like cooking, we get King Pollo! It is always a hit and very economical.

This ain't no Albertson's, Ralph's, or even Costco chicken. Get outta here~! I call this place "Ghettolicious" chicken. Because it may be ghetto looking from outside but the chicken they serve up is DEE-LI-SHUS! I've tried analyzing, examinizing, investigating, and dissecticateing the seasoning on the chicken... but have found no solid answer. Therefore, my postulations are a heroin marinade along with a dry rub made from crack. K, maybe not... (because I don't want them to get shut down by DEA). Nonetheless, it is really really good :o9. The thin, rotisserie'd skin is golden brown and crispy - I just can't get enough of it. The meat is tender and juicy, always cooked perfectly. Also, the preparation is done well so that there is enough flavor in the meat while still maintaining the essence of the chicken. Yup~ I said "essence of chicken." What is that? I'm not too sure myself, but what I mean to say is that it doesn't taste like you're eating cardboard. Unfortunately, I have to kick all the sides (rice, potato salad, beans, etc) to the curb. The rice is not spanish rice. It's just fried rice with some frozen veggies. The pinto beans are bland. And the potato salad is just a bit short of "I guess I could eat this." For what it's worth though the lunch specials (1/4 chicken, sides, and soda) at $5.99 are a great value. The family packs are a good deal too. But I just prefer to get the whole chicken for about $7.99 or the whole chicken w/ tortilla and salsa for a couple bucks more. I've only ordered togo, but there are plenty of seats inside if you want to eat there.

I recently ordered a party pack from King pollo for a small 20 person party. We got so much food and on time eventhough we ordered the same day. We ordered the party pak #2 with 10 chickens and they smelled to amazingly delicious and everyone at the party loved it and some even went for seconds. They even helped my husband take it to the car and gave us some to go boxes and a few extras not included on the order. Great service and amazingly fall off the bone chicken. I love this place

Pricy but Delicious. Bring cash, they tend to have problems with their machine but they do take visa/mastercard.

Great Chicken & Tortillas but bad sides. This place is a great steal. I ate here a couple months back (after Sunday morning visit to House of God (St Anthony's). I just remember thinking that the chicken and tortillas and salsa were "yummo" but the sides were a little....WEAK!!! I think I'll stay away from the sides next time. Potato salad: More like mash potato with some veggies and mayo....not my cup of tea. Rice: Asian white ice...nothing special....kinda mushy. Salsa: Fresh and well seasoned. If they revamp their sides dishes...this place would get better ratings....from me at least. It's a place you can dine in your jammies, so don't expect to much. It's not a place I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here...passing by...chicken craving....ok I prefer the Filipino spot next to it. Manila Bay, I don't think there's a page for it yet. Or I just can't seem to find it. Manila bay is my favorite turo turo (point point) joint. in OC... it's like a panda express style. You POINT at what you want and they put it in the box for you. They also have turon and Filipino ice cream...ube...maze con queso....yum!!! There's also a couple of table if you wish to dine there...prefer to take it home. OH, super friendly service as well. Food is always fresh and hot.

I rolled on in after driving by numerous times. I ordered the family meal, which comes with rice, beans, potato salad, 10 tortillas, and 1 rotisserie chicken cut in half. The chicken was fall off the bone good. Well seasoned. Beans were okay, rice was good, potato salad was typical for what you get a Korean BBQ joints. The Korean lady at the counter was courteous and the food came out quick for my to go order. I would definitely go again....good deal.

Love their rotisserie chicken combo (1 chicken, tortillas, salsa for $8.99) for a simple weekday dinner for 2. There are always leftovers for a chicken salad for lunch the following day! It seems the chicken got smaller recently though.

The place looks pretty ghetto but the chicken's pretty good! It's really cripsy & greasy but it's pretty easy to get over this small little set back once you've tried the chicken. I'm not too sure about eating there (especially at night) so I'd recommend just taking it to-go. I haven't been here for awhile but I think they have some special where you get 2 whole small chickens for like $10.99 or something like that (it could be less).

Best lunch ever... You get half a chicken with so many different sides and a drink for really cheap. I love this place!!

This place isn't too bad. I have driven by many times and always thought about trying it out. Today was my day. The chicken is really good, not greasy at all. I got the lunch special which comes with a side of rice (steamed rice) pinto beans, your choice of flour or corn tortilla, a side of potato salad (didn't really too much for that) and a drink. The portions were a pretty good size, was more than enough for me. I would go back!

After driving by this place a few dozen times and then reading reviews on here (YELP). We were curious and decided one night to spin the wheel and I am so happy that we did, this place is AWESOME! We ordered a Family Meal with 1 rotisserie chicken, large potato salad, large rice, large beans with tortilla and salsa. The chicken was cooked perfectly, very juicy and seasoned well. The sides were pretty yummy with the exception of the potato salad, it was not good at all. The mayo reminded me of really bad homemade mayo and was completely void of flavor. Great little neighborhood place with fast friendly service not to mention it will not leave you broke on those nights when you just don't feel like cooking.

Best chicken teriyaki bowl in town for under $8. You can actually share one bowl. I recommend this place.

Good place for some ghetto Mexican chicken. Its rotisserie style not like Juan Pollo or El Pollo norteno. Chicken is juicy and full of flavor. The skin is my fav and boy was that skin tasty!! Beans and rice were ok nothing special and the salsa was good but not spicy enough even though I asked for spicy! The only thing i didn't like was the potato salad, YUCK!!!!

I prefer the mom and pop shops. it isn't fast food and it isn't gourmet, but when I'm on the way home and want some chicken in my belly I go here. Decent prices and it fills me enough where I don't feel cheated. Try it.

four stars is about right. the chicken and salsa on it's own is a full 5 stars. when you include the beans and potato salad the overall is 4. still better than pollo loco!! do not be afraid. try it!!

The chicken is sooo good here! This place is owned by really nice and friendly Korean ladies. They have the best chicken meal and you can tell that the quality is fresh! The price is not bad as well, for about $7 you can have half a chicken, potato salad, rice, tortilla, beans, salsa, and a soda!

Decent chicken for the price. A greater bargain than I anticipated! The chicken was pipin hot and juicy- skin was crispy. Did not try any sides based on previous reviews.. Definitely a place to try if you live nearby.

The reviews don't lie, this place is Chicken Goodness!!! I've been here more than the fingers on my hands combined (8 times I think), and the chicken has been consistently juicy, fresh and tasty. It's rotisserie magic and it's your lucky day if they pull your chicken right off the spit. They have all these weird family meal, super family meal, extended family meal combinations. You could end up with three whole chickens like I did one time. Their mashed potatoes are not KFC style, in fact they may be a little weird for some people because it's reminiscent of Korean BBQ mashed potato sides (the owner of King Pollo is Korean), their rice is not bad but their salsa is my fav! I usually go for tons of salsa and some rice and beans. Load up on the serrano chillies they have for free and you're more than good to go.

5 stars for the chicken teriyaki! It's so good! For about $6 you get a big serving of salad, white rice (not the buttery kind everyone else wrote about-just plain white, steamed rice!) and teriyaki chicken. The chicken is so good, and the flavor is awesome. I highly recommend it. And the serving size is pretty big, enough for 2 people or 2 meals. If you haven't tried it, try it! I like mine with 1000 island salad dressing, and the good old rooster hot sauce!

Very reasonably priced flame broiled chicken; my main complaints with it are 1) the marinade and 2) the way they cut it up so strangely. Neck attached to my breast, 1/2 thigh attached to my breast, yuck. It is as if (and I believe they did) just hack it up with a cleaver for speed. The marinade isn't as flavorful as EPL, sadly; it's not bad, but I think it has cumin in it which is so powerful. At least the meat was cooked through, which sometimes is a problem for EPL. You get a crazy amount of food for the 2 person family style dinner at $12.99: a whole chicken, cut up; beans, rice, potato salad, and 10 small tortillas, salsa. I didn't think either of the salsas were hot and we asked to try both. The rice, oddly, is a straight white rice, not spanish style rice, which was a relief to me since I don't like Spanish rice. The beans were fairly good but not seasoned with a Jalapeno like EPL. The potato salad was disappointing, just chilled mashed potatoes with some dressing/mayo/onion, carrot, and black sliced olives added. Very odd. But, my DH liked the chicken and I like it more than Charo Chicken so we may come back. I didn't think the neighborhood was very scary; we went there on a Sunday night and took it to go.

This is what El Pollo Loco wishes it could be. This is a non-chain chicken joint that serves family-style dinners from $12.99 for one chicken and sides to $32 for three chickens and loads of sides. We discovered this place about a year ago and it never disappoints. The chicken they use is really, really good. The chicken is not marinated like EPL but wonderful and better in our taste. We recommend take out since the atmosphere is not that hot. I never see people eating there, in fact. The really sweet owners or managers are Korean but they speak Spanish to eveyone. It is sort of an aternate universe at King Pollo. I can't cook dinner at home for the price they charge...and I always have leftovers. My one complaint: the hot salsa is too hot, the mild is too mild...hmmm...one minor complaint about an excellent value and really good dinner. They also have teriyaki things, but we can't say a word about them because we never ever get them...but perhaps we should. We are really happy this place is just a few miles from home.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
