So, French fries, then gravy, awesome meat and such toppings, and cheese curds. Daaaang. I had never had cheese curds, much less inside a meal with gravy fries as the base. I live 70 miles from this place and made a trip to eat here and then do my other business. The service is good, you feel welcomed when you walk in, and they act like they want you here and to enjoy your meal (Because they DO). The food is awesome, and interesting. Instead of the same old today, do yourself a favor, bring a friend and get two regular meals (of different types) to share so you can get in a few flavors in one visit. You can thank me later.

Poutine? Yes! My first time trying a Poutine dish! Didn't know exactly what they were so I went to their website and checked out the menu. Turns out that many of the dishes appealed to me. We didn't just happen to stumble upon this place. It was offered and I purchased a Groupon deal. We were visiting the Tucson area and staying at our timeshare in Oro Valley. We came here after spending the day in Tombstone. Parking was a challenge but we got lucky and there was a spot right in front of the restaurant. The gal behind the counter saw that we (me and my hubby), and another customer behind us looked lost while looking up at the many choices above us and since it was our first time she explained what a Poutine was. Very friendly and helpful. Ended up having the Bacon (thick sliced bacon and scallions) and my hubby chose the Pot Roast (tender roast beef with scallions). We both shared and enjoyed our meal. Very tasty and delicious. So what is a Poutine? the base are French Fries, Cheese Curds and Gravy... then you choose from the menu what type of dish you want. The meal is conveniently served in a 'to go' box so if you are not able to finish it you can just close the lid. Wish we had this in California. I understand that this is the first poutinerie location in the West Coast. They also offered vegetarian Poutine and burgers. Thank you, Tom! Wish I got the name of your fabulous gal who served us on Sunday around 5:00p... she also kept the place clean ---------------. Response to Tom J (Owner) Responding to your feedback, Tom, Yes! please do give them credit for great service and recommendation! We were there Sunday, Sept 6, 2015 at 4:55p, that was the day and time my Groupon was redeemed and validated :)

Took the kids here to celebrate a birthday. The staff was awesome helping us familiarize ourselves with the menu and such. We got a free tee shirt for spending over $50 and the kids got a free cookie, too. Overall it was a great experience and I haven't even told you about the food yet! The fries are served in little white to-go boxes overflowing with goodness. The fries themselves are sort of average but the toppings make them what they are. Brown gravy and cheese curds are the basis for all dishes, then add various stuff to the top. We got 3 orders: green curry, bacon, and shaved beef/crispy onion. Also some fried cheese curds. There is also a fancy soda machine with a touch screen/coffee/fresh brewed iced tea to drink. Condiments include malt vinegar, ketchup and ranch. Overall I thought the food was really salty. One could easily stick with the brown gravy/cheese curd setup and be just fine. The kids liked the crispy texture of the fries. The curds also got a second order placed. It was a very fun casual place to eat. Know before you go: weekday parking means the meters are on and strictly enforced so watch your clock m-f.

I usually don't set my expectations very high when I go to a chain restaurant--especially if it's a fast-food chain. But this place, I have to admit, is great at what they do. I've been there twice this year. The first time the food was good. I was satisfied but not wowed by it. Then again, I hadn't slept much the night before and was just going through the motions of enjoying food. The second time I went here (just yesterday, June 11, 2015), I ordered the vegetarian poutine, and the person who took my order asked me if I wanted to add jalapeños. I was glad she suggested it, because I love spicy foods. Not only did they throw some jalapeños on my poutine, but they also threw them on the grill first to sear them slightly. The jalapeños added some heat and flavor--and also some nice texture because of the searing. The fries were also cooked to perfection--very crispy but not overcooked. For those who haven't been to this place, I recommend just getting the regular size poutine order. I have a fairly big appetite and don't like leaving a restaurant still feeling hungry; even so, the large size was a bit much for me on my first visit. Besides, the fries are more likely to stay crispy if you get the regular size. My only wish is that this place used fewer disposables, but I guess that's pretty standard for a fast-food place.

Ai! If you trying to be vegan their cheese curds will definitelly change your mind !! They are delicious! The french fries are crispy and if you have Michelle as your helper it also comes with a huge genuine smile and all your questions answered. The price is still more expensive than other places that sells french fries but Michelle trully wanted to see me fed, knew all the menu, had the patience of an elephant and if you have coupons also help :)

I had been meaning to try this place ever since I had heard rumors of their opening. I'm a big fan of poutine and most people out here have simply never heard of it, and when they do hear what it is they shy away in disgust. That is, until they actually try it, and then the genius of poutine becomes clear: French fries, brown gravy, cheese curds. Delicious. Think of it as french-canadian comfort food: their version of mac and cheese. I can dig it. I forced the wife to come with me under duress. It was kind of a Poutine ambush, and my plan worked perfectly. She ordered the vegetarian and I ordered the original and we decided to share an order of fried cheese curds. Her review has already been posted, but it was MY idea to go with the curry sauce for the curds. When the guy behind the counter heard my request he squinted and nodded a little as if to say "you sly dog" but then replied, "yeah, we could swing that". I liked his style, too. Moments later, our food arrived. The curds were fantastic, and I do recommend the curry sauce. We also had ranch, a classic, which was great. US Fries does their actual French Fries really well: exterior texture was perfectly crisp to stand up to the wetness of the gravy, while still steamy and moist on the interior. Good job, here. I tried both the dishes, as did my wife. This is not exactly her thing anyway, but she said she would return in the future if I requested, which was about the most I would have expected to get out of her anyway. As for me, the vegetarian gravy was just ok. I mean, it was flavorful considering its vegetarian, I guess. It wouldn't have been what I would have ordered as a second or even 5th option on the menu, so I can't judge too harshly here. It was ok. My traditional poutine was pretty darn good. The cheese curds were on point. The brown gravy was so so close to perfect but not QUITE what I want in a brown gravy. There was something off about the saltiness I think. Anyway, it was very good though. All in all, I will be back to try some of the more enticing menu items like the curry poutine. That sounds just awesome. Well done, boys!

1st time here & I must say I'm very pleased never thought fries & gravy but wanting something different made me stop by; although this was my third attempt at trying to eat here being the local on 4th ave & the parking not so great I was extremely happy I found parking right away. With two sizes to choose from I got the regular & that was plenty in fact I couldn't even finish & had to give the rest to my brother. U.S. Fries a place I will definitely return to try a different type of fries :)

I came in with a groupon which was good- got the green curry chicken flavor and as a whole it was ok, but it's very very salty! I would not come here again because I can make this better at home. This was Friday Sept 4th- and ps I'm Canadian, I know my fries and gravy !

BELLY BOMB ... Huge waste of food. They serve it in a cheap food truck kind of flimsy cardboard box. It is hot but in a short time it is a huge soggy, sloppy mess. Unless if you like glob of cheese, mushy french fries covered in a salty gravy with a hint of meat. The meat serving is very small for the price. I think most of the money goes into the strange decor. Wait counter dude was new and nice. I will never go back.

Such a disappointment. I don't mind paying a premium but the food has to match. For the quality, this place was horribly overpriced. Our bill was just under $59 for myself and 3 kids to have counter service. Each of the kids had a 1/3 lb cheeseburger, plain fries, and a fountain drink. My nephew hardly touched his burger and my daughter complained that hers was too pink in the middle. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and this had to have been the worst I've ever had! I like the bun concept but the meat had the texture of meat that had been in the crock pot too long and then coated with an okay sauce. The pulled pork comes topped with coleslaw. The slaw was fresh but seriously lacking in flavor. It was very one dimensional. I think the concept is good but adjustments need to be made to keep customers coming back and paying that price. ***Edited to answer Tom's question. We visited on Sunday, September 13th. I'm sorry, I can't see myself paying that price to take a chance that we'll be served that quality again. I prefer to support new and particularly small businesses but I have my limits. This is just my opinion but I think it'd be advantageous to hire a chef to at least tweak the recipes and/or train your cooks.

So, cheese curds, gravy...these are not my things. My husband really wanted to eat here, and being the kind wife that I am, I agreed. I will give the staff this; they are all SO nice! Really. I was very impressed with the guy that rang us up. He was kind, helpful and fun. I wish I could remember his name to give him serious props. I ordered the vegetarian, and hubby got the original and we also got a side of cheese curds. We ordered some curry sauce on the side, and the curry with the cheese curds was delicious! I cannot emphasize how tasty it was! Our orders came out, and mine was actually better than I thought it would be. If I listened really carefully I could hear my left ventricle closing while I ate it, but it was pretty good. The fries were cooked just a little extra long, to make them extra crispy to avoid the sog factor, which I appreciated because I took most of it home. The original was good, according to my husband. I don't really care for brown gravy so much, but I did try it, and I thought it was fine. He liked it a lot more than I did. I will probably be back, since my husband was so in love with it. I will get the vegetarian again, although they did have a sheppard's pie one that looked good. One thing is for sure, though. I will get a side of cheese curds, and I will get curry sauce to dip them in.

Great food and great customer service! My only complaint is that there is not a lot of seating. Being located on 4th, this makes a great place for a drunken snack as they are open late into the night. If you enjoy poutine or even just enjoy loaded fries, you will enjoy this place. They also just started selling burgers and deep fried cheese curds. Honestly though, I think hit up Lindy's for a burger and then here for poutine if you're still hungry. The small looked too small for a meal alone for me, but it was actually very filling and I barely finished it. They have a condiment bar where you can load up on ketchup, malt vinegar, or anything else you may want to top off your fries with. They also have one of those soda machines that dispenses all different kinds of soda, with the ability to add "vanilla" "cherry" and other flavors to your drink. The manager came by and made sure we were doing great, and even refilled our drinks for us even though its a self service drink station. I thought this was great!

Graduation weekend involves lots of drinking to celebrate. Don't want to wake up with a hangover so how does one fix that? By inhaling carb & fat heavy, unhealthy food. Hopefully you chose well, like me, and came here to at least make the meal worth every sinful bite. Around for a while now U.S. Fries seems to be a popular late night (open til 4am) spot for the college kids. There are about 10 different varieties of poutine* to chose from. I ordered the 'Pork 3 Way' based on recommendations. It was delicious to the last bite. Flavorful, just the right amount of greasy, and the toppings were plentiful. Plus they have Cholula hot sauce to flavor it up even more. Sorry, but not really, that I used an entire bottle. Now I must head to the gym for the day to undo all that tasty late night goodness. The staff is friendly and efficient. Extra kudos for dealing with the masses of intoxicated 20-somethings. ^ *Poutine: (/putin/; French: [putin], Quebec French:[putsn]) Dish originating in Quebec, Canada. Consists of french fries topped with a light brown gravy-like sauce and cheese curds.

Went today to see what the fuss was about and was absolutely blown away by the food, the burger was huge and super tasty. I'm a big guy but could have gotten away with a single because it was huge. Now on to their signature... The fries were just wow. We have the pot roast fries and I was like really... Whoever thought of this was a food magician or fat like me cuz it was the bomb!!

I'm not a fan of the seating, but this place is damn-good. Extremely wide poutine variety, extremely well lit, spotless bathrooms, & conveniently located on 4th ( a before or after spot, depending on what time you go out) This isn't something I would suggest driving out of your way for, but it's a good spot if you're down to poison yourself w/ french fried. I'm very aware I shouldn't be eating this hahaa but I'm definitely not about to stop any time soon.

So, we came over here after an afternoon of drinking at Tap & Bottle. I struggle writing this because I am all about new business. But it was just, eh, okay. And that was probably because I had consumed a lot of beer first. The fries were okay, a little greasy. The cheese curds were probably the best park. We had the cheesesteak one. All the peppers, cheese, and steak were kind of clumped together in one big lump. So, if you are looking for food to help minimize your hangover the next morning check this place out. But be ready for the carb/grease bomb you will get.

ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE. I'm originally from Canada, and have been craving a poutine for almost two years. I had given up on trying to find a place that had a real poutine....until we found this place. Upon talking to the guy at the counter, we found out that the owner is Canadian. We had the regular poutine, and I couldn't be happier. I'm really mad because we live in Phoenix and stumbled upon this place on a trip to Tucson, but thankfully they're opening one in Tempe, Arizona soon so that's only a 10 minute drive away!! SOOO HAPPY WITH THIS PLACEEE! MY NEW FAVORITE.

I came here for the first time Thursday night after karaoke night at the Dubliner on University Ave. (which, by the way, all mid-20's and college students should at least go once - huge college crowd, so much fun). Anyhow, I've had poutine before, and although I'm not the biggest fan of it, I can still appreciate good food. We ended up ordering the regular size of Traditional poutine (fries, gravy and cheese curds) to share between two people. We weren't that hungry, and I would think the portion is quite good and plenty for one. However, the poutine was just okay. There was nothing special about the gravy or the fries, and the cheese curds looked like oval balls of cheese, not fried. Eh. We weren't very impressed with this and actually did not even finish our order, because it just wasn't appealing or appetizing. On the other hand, the staff is very friendly. The place is clean. When we were there, it was quite empty, but I've seen it pretty packed before on the weekends at night when I walk by. Could be just because there aren't a ton of late-nights joints in that area. My experience was okay, I've actually heard that the food here is pretty decent, so I think maybe just bypass the "Traditional" and try something else on the menu.

Our experience here was lackluster as if driving on I-80 through Nebraska, the curry was good, but I belive would be more enjoyable over rice, the cheeseburger was, meh! There are other competitors in the area that make a better burger. On the upside the service was great, outside of one male employee who let out LOUD! explicit language in front of my children. We just ignored it, but your actions at work reflect on your brand.

**Parking** The restaurant is located on Fourth Avenue, good luck. But we were very lucky, parked right in front. **Atmosphere** Plenty of windows for people watching, typical fast food feel. The Lighting is great so no problem reading will you eat. It will be interesting how corporate chain restaurant will be accepted on Fourth Avenue. TVs are a plus, rock playing in the background. All great things. The staff was friendly and ready to help. Doesn't seat many but the place is comfy with good bathrooms. **Food** How can you go wrong with French Fries when they are well-seasoned and well-cooked? Add things like gravy, cheese, onions, and other such goodies, and you have food Nirvana for many, many, people. The drinks were primarily dispensed from one of those new electronic coke machines. For the first time I tried Rasberry Coke. I liked it. **Price** With the regular small fries starting at $3.49 and their most expensive large items going for $11.49. I think the average bill per person will run from $5 to $15. The beef and crispy onion were good, they came with a horseradish sauce that added tasty goodness. The order came with cold and hot options. I chose the hot. **Future** I hope they add baked potatoes and sweet potato fries.

We both had a 1/3 burger with cheese, fries (mine was poutine, hers was sweet green curry) and we shared an order of deep fried cheese curds and 2 medium drinks. The order totaled just under $39. It's on 4th avenue which is expensive real estate so you have to expect to pay premium prices. Starting with the burgers I was very pleased. Everything including the bun, meat, pickles, and cheese was to my liking. It's an all around great quality burger. The fried cheese curds go great with ranch and weren't greasy. They're very similar to mozzarella sticks. To be honest it was my least favorite part of the meal, but they were still made very well. Now for the part that everyone cares about, the fries. The poutine has a traditional beef gravy with a strong flavor and somewhat salty taste. The cheese curds are great, you can tell their staff cares about the quality of the food. The fries themselves are fairly traditional as well. The whole meal could be considered a great homemade meal. There's none of that cardboard tasting fast food that people have come to expect these day. I had a quick taste of my girlfriends green curry fries and the chicken tasted great too. Overall I loved the food. The restaurant is a decent size for 4th avenue, meaning its small but you have leg room. I had read a review where someone complained about parking... there's a football field directly behind the restaurant on 3rd avenue and there's tons of parking spaces (I found it on Google maps satellite view before going). Thanks for the great experience. I would return if I wasn't moving this week.

Came in last night around 1:30 AM. Caught our eye as we were walking down 4th ave. The inside was very small and they were lacking chairs for customers to sit in, umm ok?? My friend & I opted for the bacon fries. Bacon, cheese curds, gravy and chives. Sounded better than it actually was. The fries themselves were tasty and so was the bacon. Maybe it was the brown gravy that threw it off. We got the large portion which came out to almost $13. It was definitely more than enough for the both of us, we probably should have went with the smaller portion. I would come back again and try something else in a much smaller size.

Not bad, didn't wait long at all. Not crazy about the gravy on the fries. Definitely overpriced though. 3 ppl $38. For just stacked fries. I might go back but would love to see a baked potato themed loaded fries, hold the gravy please

I was walking around 4th and noticed this place and decided to try it out. I didn't get a burger but tried the fries and cheese curds. They weren't the best fries in the world but they were definitely good. It's nice inside, and the people are also nice.

So I'm not sure if it was the fact that I'd just had a good night of drinking or what but this place hit the spot. Had the chicken fejita it was pretty good, the gravy paired with everything was new to me but I was not disappointed. I'm sure if I find myself on 4th after a night out I'll stop here again.

Summary: Never having had poutine, I was eager to give it a try. Now that I've had it, can't say that I am a fan. Positives about this place: it was clean, service was friendly enough. Ambience was decidedly casual -- a long, high bench with stools and four or five small tables. Liked the electronic soda machine. I ordered a large of the traditional poutine -- basically, a heap of fries with cheese curds topped with gravy. It took ten minutes for this to appear, which I found odd because...well, because all it consisted of was fries, curds and gravy, the basic ingredients of everything they serve (poutine-wise), so you'd think it wouldn't have taken more than a sec to throw it all together. Granted there were a few people ahead of me with more complicated orders, but, still...where does it say you can't attend to an order out of turn if it only takes a second? Now that I've had it, I can't say that I am a fan of poutine. The cheese curds had no taste or real texture -- they reminded me of tofu. The fries and the gravy tasted like...fries and gravy. There was enough salt in my dish to cure a ham. Maybe two hams. (So much salt that I actually threw up a bit towards the end. Fortunately I had plenty of napkins.) I have no idea if the poutine I had is the way it's supposed to be. However, since the owner is Canadian, I have to figure it is. All I can say is, if that's poutine the way it's supposed to be, I never want to eat it again. It has as far as I'm concerned no redeeming features, unless you really, really like very salty gravy and fries. The shop has many variations beyond traditional poutine -- I have no idea if this makes it better. Considering how difficult parking is on 4th, I see no reason to go back to find out. (I went on Memorial Day, when finding a spot to park wasn't such a chore.) They also offer hamburgers. Can't offer a critique of those. Finally, I don't quite get the name of the place, U.S. Fries. If its main claim to fame is a dish from north of the border, shouldn't it be called Canada Fries? Or something?

So I think I have tried just about everything fast-casual in Tucson and was looking for something new, I go there a bunch for business. I had heard of Poutine and I knew the Canadians freak out about the stuff. When I found out they had it on 4th I was very excited. Fries, Cheese Curds and Gravy! This place is awesome. I had the Beef and Crispy Onion, it was absolutely amazing. If I lived in Tucson I would be there every day, wish they would come to the Phoenix Area. Also had my first Eegee... I get it now.

This review is based off of a night that was spent on 4th avenue with a friend...so take that into consideration. My friend and I spotted US Fries and decided to stop in and have some fries (the name gave it away). I have never tried poutine and actually hadn't even heard about it before that night. But oh hoho...they let us have a sample and it really was the perfect meal to end the night. It was greasy and cheesy and delicious. Yes, it gets soggy later on but they're french fries! They are best eaten fresh from the deep fryer. I would say give it a shot if you find yourself craving something quick and greasy that hits the spot.

This place is great! I had the pulled pork and it was well portioned with the perfect amount of gravy. My boyfriend ordered the Cheeseburger. I have to say it was pretty good, no complaints. This will be my next item to order. My two sister-in-laws ordered the Roast Beef. The only feedback we had on this was to maybe shred the meat or cut it smaller. US Fries apparently does not have knives, so it was a bit difficult to eat. I was a bit taken back by them not having knives, but we managed.

My husband and I stopped in here during the 4th Ave. St fair. He had the vegetarian fries, and I had the sweet pork. Both fries had great flavors and texture, crispy on the outside and soft inside. The service was very friendly and attentive. They gave us menu suggestions and thanked us several times for being there, along with telling us about the specials. Cool people, cool concept, and the my husband was both intrigued and stumped by the soda machine :) We got peach Mellow Yellow :)

Good folks of tucson, there is this hip new joint in town called US Fries! The first thing you should know is that they only serve fries and nothing else. Not a problem though because they have large proportions (even the regular size is rather large). The second thing you should know is that all the combinations come with gravy and cheese curds unless you request that they be removed. That being said I have tried the sweet pulled pork (sweet baby Jesus that's good) and the bacon fries! Both delicious and I can't wait to go back and try the other combinations! The store is so clean and spacious and the lady who helped was beyond friendly! There are also outlets for you to charge your devices in numerous places which is so great, but no wifi! And the soda dispenser is one of those new ones where it's touch screen and all comes out of the same nozzle. You have an open view of the chef cooking your food as well! Must try place!

This place is overpriced and the food is disappointing. Got a "gourmet" burger which was over $7.50 and no bigger than a McDonald's Mcdouble. The patty was thin and overcooked. The cheese turds were also unseasoned, small, and expensive. Do you yourselves a favor and go to Lindy's across the street.

Drunk fries-yes, please! Would I go during the day? Probably not, but that's because I don't frequently crave greasy food. On my way home from an evening on 4th ave, I could crush fries all night.

As a Canadian, this place is OK. The gravy tastes very salty and processed, otherwise I loved how crispy the fries were. If you are looking for the best poutine I HIGHLY recommend zany beaver food truck you can find them on Facebook. This place really needs more seating though.

Okay, so great service. Very clean facility. Food is disgusting IMO. The whole time I was picking apart my bacon fries that resembled dog treats I couldn't help but think, gosh I would've rather had my leftovers that are in the fridge at home.

I mean. A place for just fries, you really can't go wrong. As a silly picky eater, I was really lame and just got cheese fries but they were still really amazing. What's great is that this place is open until 3am on the weekend so it's great for late night grub. Next time I go back, which will probably be soon, I'll have to be more adventurous.

After going out all night I was looking for a place where I can get a bite to eat. After looking at all the usual places I would go to time after time, I went into US Fries an interested customer and then welcomed with open arms. I've tried poutine (french fries with cheese curds and beef gravy) back in SF and I've wanted to try it out again. I've first tried the Roast Beef poutine on a regular order and immediately I was hooked. I've never thought that something from Quebec would tasted so delicious. If anyone is in Tucson on a night out and need to find food that is both tasty and craving, trust me you won't regret this decision when you come to US Fries!

Finally something different. Poutine isn't a normal food item in Tucson, but it is dam tasty. Poutine had to be invented by Canadian stoners. Went on their second day open. The menu system was down, but the menu is currently limited so it was easy to decide. They had the standard poutine, fries gravy and cheese curds. Then there's the pulled pork which has yummy pulled pork, curds, pickled jalapeno slices and gravy. They have a third which is the Hawaiian, pork and pineapple. They mentioned that they will have a bacon version out soon. They also mentioned that they have vegetarian and gluten free gravy. The poutine comes in 2 sizes, $7 something being the small. Since their menu was down, it is hard to tell if there is anything else. Their website is slightly incomplete and hard to tell if they are a franchise or local business. It also seems like there is potential for more menu items. The signage does not quite look like a downtown restaurant or a restaurant at all. So when you headed downtown, Look for the place with a US Highway sign and is cleaner than any downtown eatery. This place has room for improvement but is better than the local food truck serving poutine. They have a few modern twists, like a check in system, coupons texted to you and an electronic frequent flyer card. The place is clean. They also have Coca-Cola Freestyle not Pepsi, thank God! They are open till 3am on the weekends. Seating is limited, so you might have to get it to go. Hot sauce lovers, you have to bring your own...for now.

Stopped in here with the hubby and teenage daughter. The hubby and I shared the large order of the BBQ pork while my daughter went with the cheeseburger. The girl at the counter noticed we were struggling to decide since we had never tried poutine before and offered to let us sample whatever we wanted on the menu. This helped tremendously! The food was delicious and to quote my daughter, "this sauce is LEGENDARY!!!" The service was excellent and the staff was extremely attentive. I easily give them 5 stars. Also love that they have a freestyle soda machine that make the drink options limitless. The things I would improve about US Fries would be: -Add some sort of dessert to your menu. Could be as simple as freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. After having so much savory, I was craving a little sweetness at the end to round out the experience. -Reconfigure your seating arrangements. There's more room to be had for additional seating if the space is used properly. -It would be cool to offer sweet potato fries as a side. Lastly, keep up the free samples! Most of us southwesterners don't have a clue what poutine is and the samples really help!

My bf and I were walking down 4th Ave yesterday and spotted this place. To start off, customer service was the BEST we've had. No one has ever interacted or even cared for our input on how their food was at any other place. Our food also came out quickly and it was amazing! Definitely going to be coming here a lot. It's something you won't regret!

Having a so-so day? These guys know how to make it so-so much better. Drown the sorrows of your quotidian life in the complex flavors of US Fries' poutine. Crispy french fries mingling with cheese curds in a lovely dousing of gravy. Oh yeah. That's the stuff. Don't mess around like a peasant! Make that poutine fit for your kingly palate and try it with shaved roast beef and a drizzle of spicy horseradish sauce. Don't be a mainlander! Go Hawaiian and find out why ham, pineapple, and poutine just makes so much darn sense. Don't act like a Phoenician! We're in Tucson, baby. Slather that poutine in spicy jalapeños and a heapin' helpin' of pulled pork. Take my advice. Try US Fries. And if you don't like it, come find me. I'll eat your leftovers for breakfast.

I don't think poutine is for me. The fries are decent and crispy. The gravy was slathered on those fries and just tasted off. The cheese curds were amazing though!! They're just really stingy with the cheese curds so the cheese curd to fry ratio was weak. I don't think I would go again. I feel too greasy now.

"Don't come here for Poutine, come here for exquisite fries topped with meat" The deep-fried batons of potato we call french fries are the focus of your plate at this new Tucson joint. Those chips are crisp, well cooked and flavorful, until you add gravy and spongy cheese curds. The menu has choices involving beef, chicken and pork proteins prepared in different ways. You can top your chips with anything from ham, thick bacon, bbq pulled pork, shredded chicken or roast beef. Each of those proteins creates a menu item starting at $7.50 for a regular and $11.50 for a large. The proteins come paired with some typical toppings such as pulled pork with jalapenos, ham with pineapple, bacon with bacon. The menu is good and their staple fry is very well crafted. Delicious side order of fries is around $3.50 and toppings are just under $2. Add your preferred protein to your box of plain fries and you have a tasty snack, they even have Heinz ketchup! Here is where most are led astray: brown gravy and cheese curds. As a previous reviewer (Sierra K.) put it, the first bite of your "poutine" (the fries WITH gravy, curds, etc) is good: crispy, balanced, hot and fresh. However the last bites from the bottom of the fry pile, you can feel the weight of all the flavors make it too much to handle. The bottom-of-the-box fries are mushy and salty, consisting of mostly gravy and disappointment, regret. I blame the cafeteria gravy and rubber cheese curds. Don't expect this place to blow you away. Sure, the cashier gals are friendly. But peddling water bottles filled from a municipal water source, fries taking more than 10 minutes to come out, and the use of seating space is embarrassing. I don't know why we let these places move in on our Avenue. A good friend once told us that there was no such thing as "too much salt," well US Fries, you made him a liar, because these dishes have far too much salt. Tom Jones can be proud of the french fries themselves, but hold the gravy and curds.

We were recently in Tucson & decided to try U.S. Fries. I am so glad that we did. It is soooo fricking delicious. At our table we had a traditional, pulled pork & vegetarian poutine as well as a cheeseburger. Oh my goodness. They were all amazing, especially the pulled pork. We will definitely be back when we are within a 50 mile radius. The french fries were crispy, the gravy was savory and the cheese curds are spot on. To top it all off, the restaurant is clean & the staff is friendly.

Delicious! Love that Poutine has finally found a place in Tucson. Great for after those late nights spent downtown at the bars. US Fries is more than just french fries! I highly recommend people check it out. Great to sit down or take it to go.

Cool decor and concept. Good portions of meat with all sizes. Flavorful and delicious. Tom (the owner) is really nice and inviting. Perfect spot for a quick bite or for a late night snack attack.

The flavors and ingredients of the more complex orders are worth the steep $8 price for a regular order. That being said, the menu needs significant rebalancing in terms of price. The inclusion of the new coco-cola "choose your own adventure" soda machine offers a modern space saving twist in this rather small store front. Tables are comfortable for 2 people, but larger groups will suffer from the lack of space. The place is well decorated and the inclusion of the TVs is a small plus, only because of their awkward placement for viewing.

This place is great. I got the triple pork poutine. So many flavors. First you got the sliced ham...then you got the crispy bacon...then pulled pork with a hint of bbq sauce. Green onions...jalapeños....cheese curds...and a light drizzle of brown gravy on some fries. It works out heavenly. I know i will be back...i dont think i will try anything else though. I think i got it right the first time. This isnt some high class expensive establishment. Just greasy comfort food. If this place had TVs, beer, and parking then it would be 5 stars all day.

We got BBQ pork fries and it tasted pretty good, but as we kept eating it, the heaviness of all the flavors- cheese, gravy, bbq, pulled pork, jalapeños, seemed too much to handle. The first bite was amazing, but the last bite was filled with regret. The price seemed pretty expensive for a large order ($12).

This was the first time that we had tried this place..but it will be our last. We love French fries.. So fries drenched in gravy.. No brainer..right?!. First the service was par, cashier was not very friendly or offered advice on the menu.. Just kinda stood there.. The food itself was very good, fresh and hot!.. But my husband did get food poisoning after eating here.. This place was the only place that he had eaten at that day, and later that evening after eating there he got horribly sick. Your experience may be better but be warned of the Philly cheese steak fries!

A mound of french fries topped with cheese curds smothered in gravy and meat piled on top!..They called it "poutine"..I call it de-lish-ous!..Seriously how can you go wrong with potatoes, cheese, gravy and meat..You can't unless you're vegetarian..God Bless US Fries for bringing this to our faces!..The quality & quantity of food was awesome!..The service was great!..Especially Philip who greeted everyone and I mean everyone who walk through the door!..He was very helpful and made it his mission to make sure you're visit was pleasant..I WILL return soon!..Great Job US Fries!

Great place to stumble into after a long night of drinking, but other than that It's more of a pick up rather dine in type of place. So far I've had the pulled pork fried and the chicken fajitas and both blended well with the fries. Great proportions and seems like they are still experimenting and adding to the menu

My husband and I love the food at us fries and the staff have seemed friendly in the past but lately we have seen another side of the staff. Possibly it's because they are right downtown in the midst of all the drunkeness however I still feel every customer deserves respect. Both bad experiences were when my husband and I or a group of friends and I were sober and polite. Both times there were a ton of people there. The first time was actually my husband and I's second experience together and we did not realize that EVERYTHING COMES WITH CHEESE CURDS - my husband is horribly allergic to cheese and has working hard to make sure he asks before ordering as he loves cheese and this is a newly developed allergy. When we ordered he asked and the gentleman taking the order told him "I don't know let me ask" and then returned to to tell us no! So when we got our order there were cheese curds everywhere, my husband was concerned but decided he'd suffer through it since there were so many people. I said no they seem nice enough they'll understand. I took it back and asked to have no cheese due to an allergy, the chef went ballistic and when we got our order the guy who greets everyone said, "don't worry I got this" with the most evil look in his eye he handed us our food with less cheese. None of this had to happen of the dumbass taking our order pointed out everything is made with cheese. Oh our bad. My next experience was when my friend ordered and was told her number was one thing so waited to hear that number despite her ticket saying something else. They called the number four or five times until she finally thought maybe that's mine and they misinformed me. She walked up as polite and apologetic as she could and the lady refused to give her her food or acknowledge that she had told her her number wrong. In fact the lady was incredibly disrespectful about making sure my friend could read the number on the box as if she was unaware. So then my friend got the ticket and handed it to the woman and once again the woman read out loud each number on her ticket and showed my friend how it matched the numbers on the box then handed her her food. And that was my friends first time! I raved about this place and now because of that experience and my husbands experience they both have sour feelings about the people who work there. Ridiculous level of disrespect. No every customer comes in drunk and stupid. I tell all my friends about going there sober! Hopefully we never have those experiences again.

We went there for lunch and the cashier explained how this worked. First time here. It was good the fries with the gravy and cheese were something to get use to. We took some home the servings are very generous. The hamburgers with the ciabatta bread are a good twist.

We would try again, if in that area of Tucson again. Their gravy was pretty delish! Even saved some (had in a to-go container) and just dipped fresh french bread into it next day. We had tried the cheeseburger fries, and the triple pork fries, with mushrooms. They do come in a box, which I didn't mind since we had ours to-go. Yes, they do have a limo parked out front, but we didn't have trouble finding parking within walking distance. But, that's kind of the ambiance of that part of town, to walk, explore the other shops and try the local eateries.

Food was good, we had cheeseburger fries and the 3 pork one. They lack tables and NO HIGHCHAIRS. Once they become more family friend we will head back down, until then we will just go to lindys across the street.

Pros: food was very tasty, clean, service friendly. Cons: way over priced. 5.99 for a regular order of traditional poutine is unreal. Sell generic water for an exorbitant amount of money. Won't be back unless they fix this.

I love fries. But these fries weren't what I imagined. Cool place and idea though. The atmosphere and space in there was enough. Favorite was the soda machine. I love that one. I'm not a fan of gravy especially on fries so I didn't eat much. I get it's down fourth but high chairs would've been nice for my daughter and nephew.

I've had Poutine in Canada, and it was amazing. This place takes that traditional dish, adds bacon, or pulled pork, or curry chicken, and turns it up to 12! It's an amazing place, but do yourself a favor, and get the regular size unless you want an instant coma!

Just had poutine for the first time and it was great. You can get traditional just French fries , cheese curds , and gravy. Or you can get it topped with all sorts of stuff. I had the traditional and my partner had the philly cheese steak. Both were amazing ,but I think I like the philly better.

  • Ruben H.

US Fries, Canadian food in disguise. What you essentially get is a basket of fries topped off with your choice of meal. If you get the cheeseburger order, you get a basket of fries covered in gravy, topped with ground beef and a drizzle of cheese. It's not like something you're going to be accustomed to eating in Tucson, but it's a flavor that will grow on you. But don't forget to add plenty of ketchup, hot sauce, and any other of your favorite condiment!

We were looking for someplace to eat after the U of A game and came across this funky cool little place on 4th Ave. The restaurant is very clean and the decor is really cool (I thought it was a chain but apparently this is the only location they have so far). I have had fries with gravy before but never like this. We tried the BBQ Pork "poutine" (which is a French/Canadian term meaning fries & gravy... I think) and it was amazing! Usually fries are just a side dish but they have created 5 or 6 entrees using fries/gravy as the base and then add ingredients to it. It was filling and the prices actually seemed fair considering we shared a dish ($12) and were both full. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. AND FAST... our food was done before we had filled up our sodas. We will be back for sure!

Only eat here when you're drunk, it's the best... When you're drunk. The service is really fast and the establishment is really clean, and there's a lot of loyalty points which will probably come in handy down the road. A bit on the salty side, so make sure you drink plenty of water!

The idea of poutine was off putting and frankly something I probably would never eat being a traditional Mexican, but US Fries knocked it out of the park. Since opening their menu has expanded reaching out to different palettes such as the chicken fajita (my favorite), the cheeseburger, Philly cheese steak, chili corn, and the BBQ pulled pork. What really makes this place so great is the variety of styles you can put with French Fries, open to FREAKIN 3am (yes 3am! so when you get those munchies from going out to 4th ave. or downtown), the jamming music, their awesome soda machine, and turkey gravy. I recommend giving US Fries a chance, they are always giving away free samples and it is the place to be when you are looking for comfort food. On top of all that the people who work their made my eating experience more delightful. Go check out US Fries.

Saw this place before it opened and decided it was a must spot to check out. It's a brand new place and the first of its kind. There are pretty good options for the picky eater as well. I'll admit I was a little apprehensive about brown gravy and cheese curds on my fries on top of the other toppings but I was pleasantly surprised how good it was! It's definitely a snack place, because it is just fries but it is quite filling. There's two sizes regular and large. For one person, go with the regular. My boyfriend and I shared a large, it was perfect for both of us. Definitely check it out if you're on 4th Ave! The staff is great too!

Finally got introduced to US Fries. Being Canadian finding authentic Poutine is hard!!! US Fries was perfect Poutine and is the new food in Arizona... Fries, cheese curds and gravy... Oh MY!!! It was a perfect balance of crispy fries to start and you get to finish with a hot mess of melted cheese, soggy fries and gravy...Just how it should be!!!! And on top of all this "goodness" they had a gluten free option! It is hard being in the USA and finding Gluten Free tasty places that satisfy a craving. I am a fan!!! I hope you open a location in Denver and Calgary!

  • Ryan F.

Really inviting atmosphere. Clean. Service could be a little friendlier as it seemed like the guys behind the counter wanted us to hurry up and order as if we were keeping them from something (even though we were the only people in there). My friends ordered some specialty poutine and I got the traditional. Theirs were all hot but mine was cold! Potatoes were soggy and not seasoned, gravy also needed seasoning. The cheese curds were... meh. I'm really only giving three stars because my three friends were satisfied with their poutine and because the environment was clean and new (obviously it's just opened). Maybe I'll give US Fries another chance but not any time soon.

The owner was very friendly and super outgoing (in wheeler and dealer sort of way). To put it bluntly, if this business wants to stay it has to lower its prices. $8.70 for an order of fries covered in mediocre gravy and a small handful of beef cold-cuts. I wish I had ordered a burger instead.. Didn't look like the photo. Wasn't super great. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was OK--but it left me hungry, feeling sick and nearly $10 poorer.

This place is way too expensive. I really don't understand how they think that charging 14 dollars for french fries is ever going to be a viable business model. It was fairly tasty but not worth the money. Will not be back.

Delicious poutine, great service, good location, reasonable prices - US Fries is a great addition to 4th Ave. I'm happy to have poutine in walking distance, and I love that they're open late on the weekends. Give it a try!

This place is amazing!!!! Such a great idea for a college town! A friend took me while I was visiting and the vibe were great, food was tasty, the workers friendly and the owner is welcoming. I would go back every vistit and wish something like this existed in San Fran where I live. And its priced fairly for the creativeness and the fact you could never replicate at home.
