Restaurant was clean, our waitress was polite and checked on us without being that annoying server that won't let you eat. Ordered the Sunrise Benedict. Poached eggs, tomato, avocado, and Hollandaise. Came with a side of country potatoes. It was just enough food. Eggs were perfectly cooked. Could have used more tomato and avocado. But it was good. I would eat here again...I love that if I want to have breakfast at noon, I can.

Seriously, only two and half stars? WTF? The breakfast is great and the service is always friendly at Speedway location. I especially like the Florentine Benedict and their prickly pear lemonade. However, all of their food is good. I also enjoy the biscuits and gravy, very fluffy biscuits and flavorful gravy. I usually like the savory for breakfast, FH likes the sweet and they do that well too. The French toast is always the right amount of crispy/ fluffy and the blintzes with berries are also good. I've been there multiple times and I've never experienced a bad dish.

Okay, I read the Yelp reviews and went to The Good Egg with the best reviews first and it was great. This one didn't have such good reviews, but is a lot closer to where I live now so I figured I would give it a try. It was great also. Fast service, great food, my only complaint is they don't have hashbrowns. My favorite breakfast is hashbrowns and eggs over easy. And I'm not talking raw-fries either! Since they didn't have my favorite breakfast I had an omelet and is was about as good as you could ask for. The coffee isn't as good as The Waffle House, but they will give you a cup to go when you leave or a really big container of ice water if you want.

This restaurant has gone steeply downhill and I won't eat here again. Instead of having us wait for a clean table, the host walked us very slowly to our table while it was being cleaned, it was ridiculous and we weren't amused (was he drunk?). The place was almost empty but the tables were a mess. The waitress was fine but when I asked to have scrambled eggs that had nothing else added she told us that it was impossible, that they didn't use real eggs but a "mixture" that comes already mixed. That sounded disgusting to me so I told her to have the cook just take a couple of eggs (they have eggs in the kitchen, right?), crack them into a bowl and mix them up with a fork. She said she'd ask if they could do that and what I received was not eggs but some fluffy, odd tasting, white material which I didn't eat. The bacon was burned and the very dry potatoes were so heavily dusted with garlic powder that they were inedible. Just awful cooking. Whoever cooks here should be fired and never allowed to cook for people again. Since my visit to this restaurant I have mentioned to several people how terrible the food was here and I guess a lot of people know not to visit The Good Egg any more. I wish I had known.

The Top 5 Things I Love about The Good Egg: 1) If you have small children with you, they'll bring them complimentary cheerios and apple slices when you are seated! If you are a parent, you understand why this is HUGE! 2) When you leave you can take a (HUGE) to-go cup of coffee or soda or water. 3) There is coffee and water outside when there is a wait to be seated. 4) They are never grouchy if you make substitutions or changes to a meal. And there food is always tasty! 5) Friendly Service

Food was ok. Came out at all different times and not exactly correct. Server was rude, inexperienced and unprofessional.

I have to say that even though the food is generally mediocre - and overpriced - this is probably still my favorite place in town to get breakfast on a regular basis, and this is why: you can get pretty much any breakfast food you can think of prepared and served any way that you can imagine it... and they are even nice about it. You want to add protein powder, strawberries, oats and trail mix to your pancakes? No problem. How about peaches with caramelized pecans and whipped cream? Sure! You like an egg white omelet with diced chicken, zucchini, broccoli, water chestnuts and asparagus? How about hollandaise sauce on the side? They've got that! Stuffed crepes, huge freshly baked cinnamon buns, eggs benedict 5 different ways, frittatas... the menu just goes on and on. The atmosphere reminds me of my grandma's house with ruffles on the curtains and cutesie pictures but it's bright and really clean with big booths, big windows and nice covered patio. I had the veggie interesting egg white omelet this morning - substituted black beans with fresh pico de gallo and cottage cheese with tomato slices for the hashbrowns and toast. They had no problem leaving out the scallions and onions and adding chicken carnitas (yum!). It had tons of veggies and a little melted brie. With the substitutions and additions it was about $12. My friend ordered breakfast "nachos" ($9) which consisted of a skillet of potatoes with tortilla chips, all the nacho fixings of your dreams (i saw chorizo, sour cream, jalapenos, cheese, beans, guac, pico) and poached eggs (which he substituted for scrambled at the server's suggestion) all on top. Looked yummy - he seemed happy. I wish they had an espresso machine but at least when you order coffee ($2.50) they automatically put a full thermos of it on your table. They also ask if you'd like water or coffee to go when you leave. Overall it's fairly pricey for a breakfast joint (especially considering the deals you can get around town) but the anything-you-want-any-way-you-want-it thing can be pretty appealing and the service is really good. Not a greasy spoon- it's a nice breakfast restaurant. Definitely bring your parents/grandparents here or come with a big group of friends with opposing tastes. This place isn't cheap - or amazing really - but it's consistently good, the menu is extensive and they are accommodating.

Have gone to The Good Egg many times and this was the least favorite visit. Service & food were average. Breakfast potatoes below average. Will definitely go again, hopefully with better results.

I am being generous giving them 2 stars. Said wait was 10 minutes. Turned out to be 20. Wait for server, 10. Wait time for food, 30-40 minutes. Server never came back except to drop off check & give the fake smile in a last attempt to get a tip. If you can, go to the grant location. So much better!

Never again. Its been a few years since I've been to a Good Egg because the food was never above mediocre and the service frequently sucked. They didn't disappoint. After being seated, we sat for 13 minutes without anyone coming by to say hello, bring water, or coffee. We left, drove down the street to a local joint and guess what? We sat ourselves and within a minute someone came to bring coffee. Not worth torturing myself to try again.

Ate here 3 times in the past week alone. Always great service and the food is excellent, mostly a good value too. The Casa Potencia is good, but a little underflavored. Everything else is great though!

Great experience here.. Our server was fantastic, food was hot and fresh, and I love that they give you to-go beverages. And not a cheap size either, a huge cup! They even have coffee and water outside! Love it ! Will be back!

The food is good, but way too overpriced for my liking. I paid $10 for eggs, bacon, and a single slice of french toast and $2.50 for a buscuit. It was just too much.

There are few places as delightfully homey as The Good Egg!! It's a family place run by phenomenal people who make me feel at home every single time I'm there. Not to mention, the food is always incredible!! Always. I could not ask for a better place at a better people to enjoy my weekly weekend breakfast!

This has been a long favorite place for the girlfriend and I to do weekend date mornings, but their greed seems to be getting the best of them and I think we're finished with our Good Egg love affair. The place is always clean and the servers are always friendly. This has never changed. However, the place has always been ludicrously expensive. For the past year or so I've been able to bear walking in here for my 5$ glass of orange juice, and left feeling okay because the food was so good. Recently, however, the restaurant has taken apparent cost-cutting measures on their food. The most irritating is that they now cook all of their omelettes by just frying eggs and then stuffing it with with whatever ingredients are called for, as opposed to cooking everything together in accordance with the needs of each unique item. For example, my favorite item used to be the Wildcat because of the great flavor and consistency. However, now they just take all of the ingredients and stuff them inside a generic egg wafer, which causes a mushy, wet mess when the meat grease is left to just soak the food. The girlfriend used to love the bacon avocado omelette...Abacado? Something like that. The look on her face when they brought out this new version of her favorite meal was a little depressing. On the plus side, this has driven us to find better alternatives in places like the Good Day Cafe and Viv's cafe, which offer better, larger meals for almost half the price. It's worth going here at least once, but it's pretty clear that they're now just trying to just squeeze everything they can out of their large customer base. If you do decide to visit the Good Egg, do yourself a favor and try one of their up-and-comer competitors afterwards to see the difference.

This place has a problem with consistency, temperature, and customer service. Food is never prepared the same way, and waitstaff really doesn't care, food the last three times has been served lukewarm, if that, yes they are willing to remake however, you usually go out to eat together, so who wants to wait, easy orders are made first and then sit at the pass waiting for the harder orders to be prepared. Never again!

Do yourself a favor and drive on by. This place use to be good. Mushroom caps were microwaved, cold/dry, with half-melted clumps of shredded cheese on top....second try came out the same way....I've only ordered this dish a hundred times. The scrambled eggs were like egg beaters...think you could have gotten better in a prison. The experience this morning reminded me of a Golden Corral/Denney's. Definitely not a good egg....will not be going back.....other locations are much better. I use to eat here at least twice a month. Very expensive for what you get. They've cut corners on quality.....guess they've figured out how to bank on Seniors.

Once you get the food it's good. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, with eggs and potatoes. When my order came the potatoes and egg were cold. The service was good and the food was good. I just had hoped that my food would be hot. That's what I get for expecting a lot. I honestly would have preferred IHOP. Also. They don't have a military discount unless you're in uniform.

Excellent breakfast choices on budget. We were staying nearby at Loew's ventana Canyon and didn't want to pay another $100 for our family of four to eat the hotel breakfast, so we ventured here and were not disappointed. I especially love that the breakfast offerings include everything for someone in your family - the pancake eater, french toast, omelets, even healthier fare like the powerhouse (which I ordered) with egg whites. The servers here are extremely friendly too. For breakfast alone I would give 5 stars; however we ate here the next day for lunch, and it was just okay. The sandwiches were not that great, my daughter had the roast beef special and it was extremely overcooked; I had the turkey with pepperjack and it was fine. I would stick with breakfast fare here.

Servers are super nice but you can always count on a wait here. Breakfast here is on the more costlier side...and food is good but nothing spectacular. Ask for cream with your coffee and they bring you just a little tiny serving of milk. They still offer cheerios & apple slices to keep the kids happy while you're waiting on food.

I went here a couple weeks ago. It was alright, I had the two big pancakes. They were warm, not too bad, but nothing special. The waitress was also slow and not very nice towards us. I don't mind this place, but it's a bit overpriced for the quality. Next time I think I'll head to Vivs or oink.

Although it was extremely busy it was fantastic, speedy service and my meal was fabulous! More of a unique selection as well as keeping some of the menu items close to home. Recommended for a nice sit down breakfast with family, not a place if you're in a hurry on the weekends.

First, I'm a bit confused about the address given for this location. I'm new to Tucson, and live right around the corner from Pantano and Speedway, but the location we had breakfast at this morning was just east of Kolb on Speedway in the Lowe's parking lot and I don't recall seeing another one (and can't imagine there *being* another one) a mile down the road. That said, neither my husband or I were impressed with the food here. I ordered the Egg's Benedict (sic! - there should so NOT be an apostrophe there, but that's how it reads on the menu) and the hollandaise was not only NOT freshly-made, but a pretty inferior powder-based mix to boot. C'mon, people! Hollandaise is ridiculously easy to make, but if you're going to go the cheap route at least choose a decent knock-off. This had a very odd flavor to it that was rather off-putting. The accompanying potatoes were pretty boring, but I'll admit I'm not a fan of country-style, chunky breakfast potatoes so regardless of how tasty they might have been I probably wouldn't have enjoyed them. My husband had the Wildcat Omelet which I didn't try but he pronounced "Just okay." And it wasn't what I'd call an omelet, with the ingredients folded inside. No, it was basically scrambled eggs with all the goodies just thrown on top. Pfft! What annoyed me the most though, was how terribly wasteful this restaurant is of a very scarce and precious resource: WATER! When asked what we wanted to drink, I ordered coffee and my husband water. They brought us both glasses of water (forgivable) as well as a FULL PITCHER so we could refill our own glasses. I didn't take a single sip of mine and my husband drank less than 1/3 of his glass, meaning a good half-gallon or more of water ended up going down the drain. People! This is the DESERT! Restaurants should specifically ASK each patron if they would like water, and then and ONLY then serve it by the glass, refilling as necessary. I shudder to think how much water is being wasted on a daily basis due to this completely unnecessary practice. JUST STOP IT!

The Good Egg is our go-to spot for breakfast. The staff is always friendly, and they all seem to enjoy working there, that says a lot about a business in my book. The coffee is always perfect, and I have yet to have a dish that I did not like. My husband and I both love love love the Lumberjack skillet. It is the perfect breakfast dish when you're looking to eat something super yummy, and hearty enough to last you through lunch. I have also tried several of their omelettes, and loved them all. They also have a great breakfast combo if you are feeling a bit indecisive. Thanks Adam, for running such a fantastic breakfast joint!

I sat at the counter and ordered a brie and bacon omelette called the "Bacado." The Bacado was delicious. The creamy brie wrapped in scrambled egg really highlighted the saltiness of the bacon. Anything that brings out the taste of bacon more in food is all good with me! Service was friendly and really attentive. So attentive that I was asked so many times how I was doing - in fact, I was given my plate and asked how it tasted even before I tasted it! A woman overseeing the dining room made sure that guests seated were taken care of quickly from the time they are sat. Their sensitivity to time served meant that you get waited on by multiple people - seems a testament to the communication between the servers in getting service done. The folks sitting at the counter with me were talkative locals who chatted with me about the day. It was pleasant. For the price, this place can't be beat!

I think The Good Egg is pretty fantastic. It's our go-to breakfast spot on the east side. I absolutely love the Sunrise Benedict, but I tried the huevos rancheros recently and it was filling, flavorful, and may be my new dish of choice. Service is always a-ok and we're usually seated pretty quickly. They did recently change the serving sizes and sides, but it's still fairly reasonable. I recommend.

The Good Egg on Speeday and Kolb is the best of the chain. I ate at a different one last week and ordered the same dish- the veggie skillet. Last week's skillet was good, but not as I ordered it. Today's skillet at the Speedway location was perfect. It's not often that you can order your eggs lightly poached and they come out that way. Kudos to our waitress (I'm sorry, I forgot your name!) for keeping our drinks full and even offering us a to-go beverage cup on our last serving. The food is prompt, the staff is friendly and I'm just not sure what else could make the experience there better.

Though I've only eaten here twice I have to say I'm impressed. This place gets SUPER busy and all of the servers hustle to make sure everyone is pleased with their visit. It's clean, service is quick, food comes out hot and they are happy to make any substitutes you need! They are also super great with the little ones! OH, and you can get your drink to go if you didn't finish it up during your visit...super awesome! If you want great food, service and all at a great value you should check this place out!

Second time eating here since August, when I moved to Tucson. First time was fine. This time, not so much. First, the menu has changed in format and seems to offer fewer options. Stephanie, our server was nice, but slow. We had the Spanish Omelette and Eye-Opener breakfast. Omelette was fine. Asked for crispy bacon on the Eye-Opener, didn't get it. Waited to eat until bacon came back and when I did, I noticed pancakes were uncooked all the way through. Whole plate was taken back and returned with crispy bacon and cooked pancakes but way overcooked eggs. I'm not a picky diner, but the eggs had a brown crust and were really rubbery. Manager and server apologized and offered to remake again. My friend had already finished her meal, so I was over it and asked for the check. Nothing comped, not even my soda. I didn't ask for it to be, but just assumed if you've messed up my order twice, I should at least get a free soda. The cashier, however was very nice. He gave me a fully stamped diner's card so I can at least have a free entree on my next visit. He salvaged the experience.

This is mine and the hub's go to spot for breakfast. We're in several times a month. We are always treated with respect, kindness and courtesy. The menu is full of awesome options( hello Bacon "x"!) for any palate or diet. Adam, the manager, must be doing something right because the whole staff is amazing. For example, the other day, I totally biffed it on the pavement while we walked to the restaurant. Now, we always ask for Ashley's section because she is the coolest, sweetest, funniest server EVER. But another server, Sam, noticed I was in need and he offered to get me a bag of ice for my ankle. Didn't even have to ask!! In this crazy, selfish world, those kinds of random acts of kindness are few and far between. You will NEVER be disappointed. Yeah, on Sundays the wait can be a little long, but we've never waited more than 20 mins and it's worth it anyway so who cares! All good things come to those who wait, am I right? Our menu favs: The Bacado The Bacon "x" scramble(!!) The Breakfast Croissant The Four Peaks French Toast The Greek Yogurt Parfait The Good Egg's Benedict Many of the breakfast options come in a half order for half the price too! And they aren't jerks about substitutions or picky eaters. At the Good Egg, the customer is always number 1. If something is wrong with your order(RARE), they'll fix it right away or it's free. So go in and see Ashley and Adam. Tell 'em Brittany sent you ;)

I went there with my family today. It is so nice to be greeted immediately when you walk in, especially at 1230PM at a breakfast place. The manager Nathan personally greeted us and seated us, interacted very nicely with our children, and brought kids menus without asking. The restaurant was clean even though it was busy. The menu is plentiful and, though priced ever so slightly on the high side, filled with premium ingredients from artichoke hearts to turkey sausage. Our server, Francisco, was as top notch and classy as we could have ever hoped for. Refills were immediate, specials were announced, food served fast, and completely polite and smiley. The food was above par - the hollandaise was thick but still liquid enough to pour over my Castroville omelet. The kid's pancakes were fluffy and the syrup was warm. The toast was warm and buttered, and the sugar cured bacon was out of this world (though slightly too crispy on my kids dishes, but bacon is good even well done!) The iced tea is delicious as well. As much as I eat out, I have to say that this was a happy surprise in every aspect. We will be back.

After posting this review the owner contacted me to let me know they do in fact have a side order of pancakes for a dollar... good to know! This makes me think even more highly of the Good Egg to know they pay attention to what their customers are saying. He also offered to take care of my next meal there due to the mix up. Excellent service!

Had a very long wait during a previous visit to this Good Egg and left a review about it. The owner Frank Collins actually emailed me and offered me a free meal to try them again. Went back today The Assistant Manager Cassie Curran was our server. She was pleasant and made sure that we were well taken care of. Our food came very quickly this time and everything was what we ordered and very good. The Good Egg has redeemed themselves! Thank you Frank.

So when we drove up with my friends; they were telling me how amazing it was. I been driving all of yesterday and having a fresh start before work and another long drive sounds like awesome. The orange juice was good. Everything had eggs... So for a person who is allergic to eggs, it was quite limiting. I mentioned this to my friends who also considered going to Mickey D's which is an automatic no. So, it keeps going. I have the Santa Fe turkey sandwich minus the bacon and weird southwestern aioli. It was pretty good. I have had better but it was good enough to not complain and ingest. The problem I had with the meal was that my friends whom ordered the veggie good stuff had to have it sent back because they put bacon on it. So, it was decent. 3 starts ok. I guess average is 3 stars. Since we are In the southwest where everyone has a barbed wire tattoo ( or at least all the people I see walking around I will use my sugar skull review. 3 out of 5 sugar skulls with bacon on it.

Went to The Good Egg on Speadway and Kolb. We will not be going back. Exceptionally long wait for my wife to get her coffee and my son to get his drink. It took them over to get our order out toys. The waitress came by and said she was sorry and the manager would be by to talk to us. When the manager came over told us that he was sorry but it took longer to cook shrimp. So, my two poached eggs with hard rubber shrimp finally arrived. Pretty bad! My wife said her eggs were cold. We will not being back!

12/29/12 Last time we ate or will eat at this particular Good Egg. We've eaten at other locations and always enjoyed our meals, but this location has only provided poor service and so-so food on two separate visits. The last on 12/29 was the final straw. There was no waiting when we went in so we were seated fairly quickly, but weren't offered anything to drink for at least 5 minutes and there was no water on the table. Once our waitress finally took our order, it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. I tried to get mine refilled more than once. It was NEVER refilled. Hubby's breakfast was fine. Mine was ok. Nothing special. When we went up to pay, we handed over our ticket and our filled good egg cards. The cashier was more interested in talking to the manager about taking days off. So when she told Hubby the total without reducing the amount by our free meals, he picked up the cards and handed them to her again. She gave him a look, a big sigh and rang it up again. We won't be going back to this Good Egg. Other ones yes, but not the one at Speedway at Kolb.

I really have no love at all for The Good Egg. We eat at this location probably the most, followed by the Broadway location, but both are equally blah to me. While some of the food is just "ok", much of it is utterly disappointing and unacceptable. They can't cook eggs for shit! I never, ever, get eggs cooked the way I ask for them. Over medium? You're going to get an egg with super runny white. Every. Single. Time. Over medium well? It's like you didn't even say "well", because you're getting those runny whites again. I don't want to order over hard eggs, because I don't want to eat over hard eggs, but that might be the only way to not end up with gross, runny, snot-like, white junk on your plate. How can you call yourself "The GOOD Egg" if you can't cook an egg even mediocrely? Their poached eggs are the same deal. I've sent back many eggs here, and they never end up getting them right. I just shut up and deal with it, but I just don't get it. How can you not cook an egg correctly as a breakfast restaurant? And forget thinking they'll put any salt, pepper, any seasoning on or in the eggs. They don't as far as I can tell, because they're always bland and boring. Not good. The Santa Fe Straw sandwich with turkey is ok. The ancho chili dressing served on the side makes the sandwich good. Without it, the sandwich is a little bit boring. I think my favorite things at The Good Egg are the pancakes and the French toast. The pancakes are huge and pretty tasty, and you can add all kinds of add-ons to them. The French toast is cinnamon bread, battered well, and covered in powdered sugar. It's just really tasty. I like the syrup they offer, too. It's not the super cheap watery stuff you get on sale at Basha's. It's thicker and tastier. But...do they not serve potatoes on the side any more? I know they used to, but the last time we were there, my husband got none on the side. I think they charge quite enough to give customers $0.50 worth of potatoes with their meals. Geez. Throw us poor schmucks that are dropping $30 for breakfast a bone, would you? Now let's talk about cleanliness. The restaurant is usually pretty damn dirty. Food all over. They would benefit from having someone clean up the floor here and there. They commonly leave tables with dirty dishes on them for long lengths of time. I've seriously seen it many times now. We once ate an entire meal next to a table of dirty dishes, right in the middle of the restaurant. Not cool. I won't drink water there because the water glasses always have some sort of filth in them. At least if I order soda or coffee, I can't see some of the grime. Though, I've still had to return glasses of soft drinks because of floating debris in them. Just gross. The service usually is pretty bad. They rush your order and bring it to you. That's about all you'll see of your waiter, so if you want a drink refill, you had better plan in advance. At least they give big glasses, so you run out slower. No one really talks or anything to you. I really just feel like a sheep being herded around while at The Good Egg. Honestly, there are places all over the city serving much better breakfasts than The Good Egg, at better prices. Even Denny's knows how to cook eggs to the requested doneness more consistently. They do offer good coupons via their text messaging program sometimes, which is the only time I'll step foot in the place, and most of the time not even then.

This place has gone down hill!! Slow service not very friendly, and the food bleah. A lot smaller portions and a lot higher prices. The quality was just not there. They used to always have a pitcher of water for you and that seems to be gone. My husband ordered an omelet and it was so tiny!! Had a small piece of toast with it. I had the strawberry fields salad. I liked it, but mainly all lettuce very little strawberries. My son had the BLT it came with a bag of chips. (How very low class for a sit down restaurant IMHO) Anyhoo to make a long story short needed to stop at Wendy's after wards to finishing filling up the guys and will NOT be returning to the Bad Egg.

The food here is OK. Not worth it. Had the avocado omelette and the salsa looked like it came from a Pace jar. It was under cooked and I'm pregnant, to no ones concern. My daughter had the oatmeal and it was cold. Spare yourself and go down the road to Millie's if you're looking for quality.

I mean, who doesn't love brunch people? Terrorists, The Devil and Nancy Grace... I'm pretty sure everyone else is a fan, am I right? Ingredients of a good weekend breakfast: Fun happy country-themed atmosphere, a small wait time, free coffee and tea while waiting, good food, and good service. Good Egg: check check check. Our waitress Courtney was happy and attentive, even though the place was hopping. She promptly brought us some apple slices and cheerios for our 1 year old to munch on before we even ordered (genius, Good Egg!). The food was good, and I appreciated that (despite the lack of combo plates) I could add extra items on to my meal for only a $1 (just a couple dollar panckes will do me, thankyouverymuch). Other servers were also helpful when items were needed, like the missing syrup. Oddly, I spent a good portion of the breakfast contimplating the football jerseys everyone was wearing. Are they required to wear them? Does the Good Egg supply them or must they bring their own? Apparently the tasty Snickerdoodle coffee I was consuming was a little stronger than I thought... In any event, it was an overall positive experience and we'll definitely be back!

The food is always good, but the service seems to be going down. We were told the cook is new. I ordered pancakes, bacon crisp and toast. I received french toast, bacon half done and no toast. Hopefully the service will improve. Mike

First of all, let me say that I'm a small business owner myself and I don't dole out bad public reviews lightly. I know that everyone has an off day from time to time and I always give people the benefit of the doubt, not to mention every chance possible to make things right (more on that below). If you're getting a one-star review from me, something is seriously wrong with your establishment. I've been going to The Good Egg on a regular basis for years now. My husband and I used to frequent the Swan and Grant location and then switched to the one on Speedway and Kolb when we moved to the eastside a few years ago. The eastside location has never been as good as the other location, but it has always been at least passable... Until recently. The past few times I've been to The Good Egg the food has been sub-par to say the least. The potatoes have become boring and flavorless, the omelets seem to contain a fraction of the ingredients they used to and the skillets are overcooked and dry. At first I thought it must be an off day or just a problem with the specific item I had ordered, but after a few bad experiences for both my husband and I, it's clear that things are just generally going downhill. In addition to the bad food, their prices are getting a little out of control for what they offer. I mean, THREE DOLLARS for a plain iced tea? That's pretty ridiculous. I don't mind paying for a good meal, but when you're raising your prices and the quality of your food is steadily declining, something is definitely wrong. The last straw came on our last visit. In addition to the barely edible food, I was overcharged for adding an item to my omelet. When we pointed this out to the server, she seemed generally unconcerned. We took our bill up to the counter and asked the cashier-manager about it. He took one look at the bill, repeated the total on the ticket, took the credit card out of my husband's hand, and without another word, literally turned his back on us and started helping another customer at the other side of the register. We were both kind of in shock and decided to contact the company about our experience. There is no contact information on their website (which in and of itself is pretty unforgivable in this day and age), so we had to email through Facebook. My husband tried first and received a message back asking him to call the Tucson operating owner, Frank Collins. He did and left his contact information, but never received a call back from Frank. I tried emailing through Facebook again and even though it's been over a month I've never heard a word back from anyone. What that all adds up to for me is that The Good Egg has stopped caring about its customers entirely. They're going to serve you subpar food, try to make as much money off of you as they possibly can, then completely ignore you if you have a problem with it. From the other reviews on Yelp, it looks like I'm not the only one coming to this conclusion. The Good Egg used to be one of my favorite breakfast places in Tucson and I really hope they can get it together before they lose their entire customer base. But unless I hear that some drastic changes have been made across the board, I won't be going back.

After visiting a Good Egg couple days ago, I saw the one on Speedway and decided to have breakfast for lunch.. It was around 12:00 and the place was not very busy. It seems a lot of times when you go to a "not" busy restaurant every one stands around ( hiding) and talking. NOT HERE.. Every one was either cleaning table, or folding napkins or something. I ate at the bar and the service was great. I had ( I think) the Lumberjack. It was filling, although next time I would get the gravy on the side, as it was a bit much. Food was hot when it came, and waiter was attentive to my water glass, again as I was leaving he offered me a water to go, it was huge ! Monday is double stamp day, so I will try to get back their on Mondays if I am on that side of town.

Delicious food, good service. Clean and happy vibe. Almost everything on the menu is good. Try the mushroom caps! The only down side are the hours (only open until 2pm) and that it is SO BUSY on the weekends, especially Sunday mornings with the church crowd. If you get there early you should be good!

I have always had good breakfasts here, but today I took the kids here for lunch because we all wanted something different. My 4yo son wanted a burger, but they don't have a kids burger and I wasn't about to order the half-pounder for him. He settled for the kids half sandwich and fruit. I had the Tucson Taco salad and it was fantastic. My daughter opted for the vegetable soup, which I tasted, and wasn't anything special. It actually tasted like something out of a can rather than homemade. The service was good, the place was clean, and we had nice lunch together. The only thing that could be better is more choices on the kids menu and lunch menu alike.

Let me at least start with what wasn't wrong. The Castroville omelet was quite tasty! And the coffee, once I was able to get some, was very good. On the other hand...........Once our waiter finally decided that it was time to actually check his tables and take our order, It was like there was no more food in the pantry. I asked about the 1/2 pounder side dish and was told that there were no more meat patties left. This as I watched hamburgers being served to the table across the aisle. I asked for a side of link sausage, only to be told that they were out. So I agreed to order the turkey sausage patties, a mistake as they were cloying and greasy. The wife? Well she decided to play it safe and ordered the wedge salad. Not safe enough though. Instead of "3 cool crisp iceberg wedges, slices of tomato, cucumber & avocado, diced red onion & bacon, Bleu cheese crumbles & a hard boiled egg Chop House Bleu Cheese dressing on top", she was served what looked like a lame chef salad sans avocado. Yes, it was the tail end of a busy Sunday brunch. And yes, we mentioned these issues to a manager who comped the salad. But c'mon, it was as if the wait and kitchen staff had simply given up and said "F$#k it". I don't think that we will be returning.

I love Good Egg. Not the most gourmet breakfast in Tucson, but definitely really good food and very clean inviting atmosphere. We love that although they have plenty of hearty breakfast favorites, they are also very geared to healthy choices as well. My only complaint is paying. You have to pay at the front register, instead of with your server even though it's a nice sit-down restaurant. And several times I've had to wait in line for several minutes just to pay. It also gets very crowded at the front with the hostess and cash register. It's a very odd and annoying design, and I don't understand the point.

Way back, when I used to drink flavored coffee, I remember loving The Good Egg. My family and I would happily join the waiting list on Sunday mornings and I'd sip the complimentary coffee out front while reading the paper. I ordered the Green Chile Skillet and carried a punch card in my wallet. But times have changed. The country kitchen decor and big pitcher of ice water just don't do it for me any more. They're pricey compared with other breakfast places and they no longer offer the Green Chile Skillet. What's more is the quality and attention to detail have waned. On each of my last few visits, something had to be sent back or adjusted. Heading out for breakfast? Skip The Good Egg and head to Toni's, Chaffin's, or the Hungry Fox instead.

I think that the food is great here with lots of options. This is definitely my favorite place to eat breakfast. I have always had good service here. The only downside is the possible wait.
