I usually order delivery and I've never had a problem. Ever. But a few weeks ago they went above and beyond my typically pleasant experience. Recently I made the mistake of donating blood, which I should never do as something ALWAYS goes wrong. Either I don't weigh enough or my blood pressure is too low. My veins are too small and they don't have butterfly needles. Anyway. My arm had a ping pong ball sized bruise and I just wanted someone to bring me a burger. I called Rosati's because they deliver burgers. Yes, they deliver burgers. I was worried that I wouldn't make the $15 minimum for delivery but I explained that my arm hurt so bad that I couldn't drive and they said, "Don't worry about it." I live very close and I did end up meeting the minimum, but still, it was very kind of the person to say that it wasn't a problem. After the day I'd had, it was relief to have a decent human interaction with a person.

I don't know what all these people are complaining about on yelp; Rosati's is arguably the best pizza in town, & their staff remembers your face. The staff is young, but they do their stuff; the guys aren't sagging their pants (like a few places I've been) & all the girls smile like that's what their paid to do. The Spinach Trio is the pizza of choice, as of late; they generally have some sort of special every night, but it isn't neccessary. Beers are moderatley prices, & they have some awesome micro-brews. Go here, any night of the week; if it happens to be busy, just wait it out...everyone visiting Tucsin needs to go here at least once, even if they just want to pretend they don't like it. PS. Outside seating is better, shoot for that first.

We like to order delivery but occasionally do pick up dinner at this location. Last night we call to place an order and were put on hold and finally they asked us to call back in a couple minutes. After five or six minutes we called back and they said that it would be 5 to 10 minutes before anyone could take the order because they were really busy. I could hear the other line ringing in the background but we had swung into their parking lot and it was not full. I've seen many places too busy to get the food out on time, but I don't recall ever being told they're too busy to take our order. We went to Rocco's.

Pretty good stuff. I ordered the Chicago deep dish style. They start with a deep dish crust and put on a ton of mozzarella cheese, then their sauce, which is canned (whole?) tomatoes, and the toppings of your choice. Don't be put off by the word "canned" because it tasted really fresh. (Tip: don't get the sliced tomatoes as a topping as it is really redundant with this sauce.) This sauce is in clumps on top of the cheese and is spiced with herbs which makes for a tomato-y, tasty sauce. The crust is really quite good. It isn't greasy. Nice and bread-y. My only complaint is that the toppings were a bit scant. With all of that cheese and the sauce, I could hardly taste the pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms. The mushrooms were especially few. The other half was the same, The Canadian bacon, green peppers, and pineapple got lost in the sauce. Unless you get double of your toppings, you're really not going to taste them. Too bad, as the Italian sausage was nice and sausage-y. To compare with Rocco's Little Chicago, which I really like, this deep dish is not as greasy, but there seems to be less toppings. I think we liked the flavor of this sauce better. The crust was a bit better than Rocco's. The overall experience was about the same to maybe slighter better in some ways. You sure get a ton of pizza. Only two slices did me in. Nice and weighty.

How do you mess up spaghetti? Rosati's sure figured out how to... Burnt, sauce was terrible ... Service during a slow night was super slow too -- stick with the pizza

As a native New Yorker, I definitely prefer a thin crust pie. This was a welcome change. It was hard for me to understand the sauce on the top. All things considered I would give this pie a good recommendation. The crust was tasty. The cheese gooey and the toppings fresh.

Ugh, Rosati's. They have some of my favorite pizza in town and I would have given them 5 stars if that's what they stuck to. Unfortunately they decided to create this gigantic menu and half of it they have no business cooking. The other night my partner and I ordered take out from them. I wasn't in the mood for pizza so I ordered the large Cesar salad with grilled chicken for $6.50 - as opposed to the small, $3 option. My partner wanted to try their burgers so she ordered one along with a calzone, you know - in the pretty likely event that a burger from a pizza place was awful. Apparently they were out of calzones but didn't bother to tell her that on the phone. Instead they gave her a tiny slice of frozen cheesecake but still charged her for the calzone, which we found out when the delivery guy got to our door. The other thing we found out is that their salads are a joke. I included a picture of the salad and cheesecake, next to banana for scale. They were both just really small. Good thing they do pizza well, or they wouldn't have gotten any stars.

Ok maybe I'm not a foodie but I like to eat. I also know what great service is and what great food tastes like and this has both. I can't speak for anyone else but my experience and it was great. The Bestie Boys played in the back room. My pizza was quality and my Greek salad was also very tasty it was a great place to eat. My only criticism would be a warning how big a slice is. Not just large but thick. My second slice is coming back to my hotel.

Worst experience I've ever had... I've eaten here before and was pleased... We ordered through @Grubhub they quoted a standard of 35-45 minutes which was reasonable... We decided as Rosatis was only a couple blocks away and asked if we could pick up rather than wait... They said It was fine... We arrive at Rosatis... They have no idea what order you are talking about... We call @grubhub they say we will be refunded and the restaurant had the order... An hour or so passes... We call Rosatis they say they will deliver order... 1. We wanted pickup 2. We don't trust that there is any way you will get this right 3.

Frequent flyers at the Rosati's on 6th, but it's getting tough to hold out. It always a crapshoot on service especially when ordering for take out or delivery. Today again they screwed up our order. A bit of service goes a long way.

Ordered lunch to be delivered for a meeting of 9 people. Waited a long time for the order and then after left by the deliverer, we discovered that many things were forgotten. None of the ordered drinks were brought, no dressings for salads, and no sauce for wings or mozzarella sticks. When we called to complain the manager characterized the missing items as "extras"?! The sandwiches were average to below. Chicken almost raw in the chicken parm, bread wholy unimpressive. Nothing good to say about food or customer service.

First time here. I am born and raised in Chicago and am always skeptical of "Chicago style" pizza not in Chicago. This place knocked it out of the park!! Great thin crust and Chicago style. Only difference is that in Chicago it has more sauce. But that didn't take away from the taste or overall texture. Great pizza!!!

  • John M.

Well it took 15 minutes to get our order taken, while the place was pretty much empty (1 other couple at a table). Our waitress was behind the bar talking to cook and a girl at the bar the majority of the time... Anyways, the wings were fantastic! Perfectly cooked, and the buffalo was very flavorful, not all just heat. The pizza however was barely mediocre, as with all the other pizza I've come across I. Tucson. The crust is flaky and dry, almost biscuit-like. The sauce was incredibly bland and monotone, no taste at all. Onions tasted old as well. Took forever for the waitress to come back and grab our check, she was once again in the back talking to people. Only reason I gave it a 3 was because of the wings, they were awesome!

Had a great meal here- incredible pizza, even better service. Chicago style pizza takes a while to cook. If you want speedy pizza eat New York style. Will be back again. Only get 4 stars because let's face it the best Chi-Town pies are in Chicago.

How is it that Rosati's only has 2.5 stars? The pizza alone earns it at least 3.5, and the service here is fantastic! It's our go to place for pizza delivery (I just can't stomach Domino's or Blackjack) and the pizza arrives hot, so I know it hasn't been sitting in the trunk of the delivery guy's car for 45 minutes. I like their sauce (we always order our pie with extra sauce) - flavorful with a hint of spiciness - and the toppings taste fresh. I've never had anything other than their pizza, so I can't comment on their other menu items... to me, ordering a burger at a pizza joint is like ordering chicken nuggets at a Mexican food restaurant. ;) I've never eaten in the restaurant, so I can't comment on the dine in experience either. But I do occasionally pick up my order instead of having delivery, and the staff are always friendly and the place - albeit small - looks clean. Yesterday, I stopped in for a pick up order, and I noticed they had a sign on the counter announcing that they now offer gluten-free pizza, which I might try next time. The manager said that they are planning to offer gluten-free beer as well. It's not the cheapest pizza in the university area (that award goes to Blackjack - blech!) nor is it the absolute best. But it is good pizza, and I think it's priced appropriately - plus you can almost always find a coupon for 20% off or a free pizza when you order one of their large pies. The manager shared that they are giving all UA students a back-to-school discount, and they are working on getting set up to take CatCash, so in the future you should be able to use your Cat Card to pay for your meal. Won't that be handy!

I was very impressed with the pizza. I have had " rosatis" before in PHX, I had been hesitant to order because tucson has so many good pizza joints... But I must say I was really impressed with the pizza. I prefer a saucier pizza , and the sauce was delicious. Overall very good, I am surprised by the reviews on yelp.... the only odd thing was the crust was emptied out..... hard to explain, but, pan cooked cut out around edges, empty crust..... but most dont eat crust anyhow.... and the rest of the pizza tasty.. id say one of the best in town for takeout / delivery...

  • Narisa S.

I've ordered delivery from here twice and the service and food is just absolutely amazing! The baby back ribs and lasagna is to die for! Delivery always arrives 10mins prior to estimated delivery time which is always great!

I was a regular fan of Rosatis pizza in the Chicago area, best pizza ever! Then I moved to Tucson and tried this Rosatis. What a disappointment. Second worse pizza I've ever had. The sauce was more like tomato paste than pizza sauce and barely any cheese. The edges were burned and the middle soggy. I won't be returning.

Very disappointed... My daughter is a student at U of A and I am her father in California. She was all alone on Easter Sunday and I wanted to order her favorite pizza to help her feel a little better. I called Rosatis to order the pizza and they told me I could not pay for my daughters dinner unless I she had my credit card in her hand when she arrived to pick up her dinner. Of course, my daughter would not have my credit card so Rosatis would not accommodate me. I asked to speak to the manager but the young man on the phone told me that the manager was pretty busy and that he was "pretty much in charge". He ultimately declined my request to buy my daughter dinner and ended the conversation. Very disappointed...

Each time I try this place I am hopeful, but always disappointed. Delivery service is slow and makes food quality suffer, soggy and lukewarm. Carryout is better but they still managed to mismake my order. I had a pan pizza once and it was tasty so we got it again, but now the crust is super flat and had absolutely no body to it. At least the people are nice. They are getting great at apologizing. But this is three times I've been let down. Won't be spending any more money here. Sorry guys.

Objective.. Two slices of pizza... 7 minutes to place order. 25 minutes to get them. Unreal.

Ordered Cheese pizza by the slice. , crust was too hard and wasn't doughy enough. unable to taste the sauce because the cheese was too salty. in overall i had much better pizzas in Tucson.

If you want to know what it is like to eat the Italian food of the gods and be served by stunning women who Aphrodite herself could not hold a candle to then Rosati's is the place for you. They have mastered the perfect blend of fine dining and family restaurant. They have an elegant wine selection and quality imported beer. The food is so delicious it will make you feel as if you have been transported to small restaurant in the Italian Country side. My experience as a costumer was so enlightening it would make Buddhists jealous! If you haven't experienced Rosati's then you have never truly experienced life.

Were were in town for the USC / Arizona Game and my daughter (a student at UofA) recommender Rosati's. It was packed pre-game and the service was slow but the pizza was awesome! We had the Thin Crust Combo X-large and we loved it - perfectly done. Also, a big shout-out to the manager Sean who we met that evening. How he managed the cooks, servers and entire restaurant with that crowd was unbelievable. He later said they served 800 pizzas that day. Great job Sean!

Had a luncheon here with a few coworkers and it was ok. Staff was friendly and they kept my sweet tea full. The waiting time on food is kind of long though. I had the pizza burger, burger with pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese, with fries. It tasted like a Salisbury steak on a bun, which isn't all that bad. They had plenty of adult beverages on display, in general, it's an ok place to eat. Parking is a little awkward, in the back....way in the back

I have always liked the food here, but this last visit I had a terrible experience. For the first time EVER I was served a warm can of beer. I tried to politely remedy the situation by asking for a chilled glass to pour it in.... The glass was hot from the dishwasher. As a last resort, I chugged the beer and asked for a different beer on tap, hoping it would be cold. It wasn't...and to top it off, instead pouring the new beer into a clean glass, she just used my old one. I recommend just hitting up the pizza joint across the street or going to No Anchovies if you are in the area.

As a college student, I'm looking for the best deal when buying my food. From 11am to 3pm the Rosati's lunch special is up there with the best, you can get 1 or 2 slices of very big very filling pizza for very cheap. Their pizza isn't half bad either. I'd recommend this place to a friend

  • Barnum G.

Staff was friendly. Beer selection meh. Definitely could do better for being near a college campus. Had a thin crust pizza that was less than remarkable.

  • Nita M.

This is a good place to come before a football game if you don't have a tail gate to go to. There's a nice amount of seating IF you get there 2 hours before the game start and beers are only $3.50 a pop. There aren't a lot of draft choices but there are a good number of bottles. The pizza smelled good and the deep dish pizza looked really good. Had I know the stadium didn't have real food options, I would have eaten here. Slices are $4 each.

Apparently Rosati's closed down, must have switched owners, and reopened. Unless the old owner somehow returns, this place deserves less than a 1-star. As a previous reviewer noted, this place claims to have 'Authentic Chicago Style' pizza. However, when you dine-in and the waitress takes your order she pretends that you must be retarded. "Huh, we don't have deep dish pizza?" Oh, wow, really? Then why the heck did we even order drinks. Thanks for telling us afterwards even though your sign says you have "Chicago style'. We ended up giving the thin crust a try anyways. The buffalo chicken pizza was completely unappealing. Someone must have used nail polish instead of buffalo sauce because the chicken was neither spicy nor red, it was PINK. Seriously, when are you going to eat pink chicken, it practically made the pizza look pink. Disgusting. The thin crust was a complete failure. We two small pizzas, and the other one was just as bad. Stay away from this joke.

  • Ingrid T.

Wow we came here for dinner to have Chicago style pizza and it was truly fantastic! Now let me just say though I would have given it five stars but we also had a thin tasteless white sauce pizza...so my advice stick to the deep dish Chicago style. Their sauce was great and not too sweet or bitter the veggies and meat were good. The crust, let's not forget that my oh my it was delish! I will definitely be back!

  • Funkdoobiest B.

Pizza was not good. Crust was thick and under cooked. For two people to get two slices of pizza each and a drink it was $34 bucks. Seems like the waitress overcharged us and when asked she said she did it like that to make it come out cheaper. Yeah I wont be back or will I recommend it to anyone!

  • Kevin V.

I would say that the food is somewhat overpriced. Twenty two for a pizza, a twelve inch pizza, is a little funny. Worth it? Probably not to many. Tried the Luigi Panini, eight dollars. I have tried better frozen fries, and cheesesteak for so much cheaper. The atmosphere... well it was empty. Sports games were on the flat screen televisions, but the energy in there was rather boring. If you are going to spend that much on pizza, there should be some type of liveliness to the place. However, the waitress was very pleasant. I probably would try to go back again on a more expected "good" and "busy" day. But if you are looking for pizza or sandwiches, look someplace else.

  • Emmy S.

I'm not sure how Rosati's only has 2 stars - it's fantastic in my honest opinion. Granted, we ate late and didn't want too much to eat but what we had was great! I had the meatball sandwich - plenty of gooey good cheese and the meatballs were perfect! My better half had the calzone and it looked delicious. We've got enough left over for lunch tomorrow and I can't wait. The sauce was great fresh out of the kitchen, I'm wondering how it'll be after a night in the fridge - marinara sauce always improves with age! The service was really amazing. I wish I'd gotten the young man's name that served us. He was really nice and it made our experience. We'll definitely be back for the pizza - as a Chicagoan, I'm intrigued!! Hat tip to Rosati's on 6th!!

Ok, time for an update - a Tucson Cinderella story: Rosati's is under much needed new management for at least a few months now, and I've given it another shot. They have finally re-earned the right to include the title "Chicago style" on their walls with the re-introduction of deep-dish. My pie was quite tasty, not quite up to snuff with Rocco's but worth investigating for yourself. I was a little hesitant at first, because my pie did have a little bit of a strange odor to it, but flavors all checked out.

I'd rather order from Domino's than have to deal with these rude ass people. Still waiting for my credit card to be refunded after getting the wrong pizza which was cold and burnt to holy hell, by the way. After calling them to ask why my card hadn't been refunded I was told that it was never charged in the first place. Then why is it still on my online statement?!?!

I first tried Rosati's for the first time when I was 17, it was the one on the far northeast side of town. From what I remember, I really liked it. So while out driving we saw this location and decided to give it a try. The pizza had weird black, chunky, burnt stuff on the bottom of the crust, as if it had been cooked in a dirty oven. The cheese and the sauce tasted like it was from a frozen pizza. We ordered hot wings which were super fatty, I managed to get just one of those down. We also got french fries, which you can't really screw those up. However, they had some cheap wannabe Heinz ketchup that tasted like crap. Finally, we had garlic bread with marinara and needless to say nothing too spectacular there. My initial opinion of Rosati's Pizza was definitely a positive one, maybe it was just this location. As far as the service we got from our server, it was just okay.

  • Wes B.

Bad pizza, mediocre service, over priced. Need I go on? The only reason I went in the past was because I had a friend who worked there, now that he doesn't I realized this is the worst pizza place in the 6th&campbell area. Try Zachary's or Grimaldi's. If the owner ever reads this I would love to come in and consult with you, And you could pay me in pizza (if we actually improve it) Oh an the second star is for the zombie quality of the place. It just won't die! I've seen it open and closed prolly a half dozen times.

Their chicago style pies are the best. Friendly staff and fun location!

Wow...first time in after the new management. The food was out of this world. I let my wife Paula choose the toppings on the deep dish pizza...nicely done Babe. I highly recommend this place...especially when the U of A is playing in town...great people watching location. Want great pizza that doesn't take 45 minutes...go here!!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
