Pretty good food I had a Turkey sandwich and soup a little high priced fod the portions. But all and all great customer service, very fresh breads and some great tea flavors. I'm sure I'll stop in again

Perfectly good food. It is overpriced, but we find ourselves going here time and time because they have healthy options. There sammys are ok, but the salads are super and fresh. For that I give this Panera 4 stars. The soups have mixed reviews from our family....some our good and some are yuck. My daughter loves their Mac and cheese

I used to really enjoy this place, but it seems like it isn't as good as it used to be. I paid almost ten bucks for my meal without a drink or side. The sandwich was pretty small and the chicken tasted off. I do love their pastries though, but I think it's all a little pricey for what you are given.

This chain let me down. I had a shrimp sandwich that tasted mushy and off. I told the manager and she told me it was fresh and that I just didn't like the taste. I told her I like the taste of shrimp , but not old soggy shrimp . I know what shrimp taste like!!! Go here for the cookies have a coffee don't waste you taste buds on the food. Or better yet . Go to beyond bread.

I went here today for lunch for the 1st time and I was very impressed. The service was great and so was the food! After going back and forth on a few things on the menu, I decided on the Chipotle Chicken sandwich and the Broccoli Cheese soup (odd combo I know lol). It didn't take long to get my food at all, and once I did, I was very happy. I'll definitely be making a visit back here in the near future, on numerous occasions LOL :)

Unfortunately this location has failed me three times!!! and not getting another chance from me. I expected more of the customer service and quality of food considering I have been to the location by Tucson Mall countless times and everything is always perfect, even when it is lunch hour. :( Sad to say I do not like this location.

I go here way too much...healthy choices, fresh food, amazing cookies, and friendly staff. The prices are a little high but obviously not high enough to stop me from eating there as often as I do...

great minus the soups they kinda taste like canned sandwichs and iced tea are awesome

I just moved to Tucson from Tampa, FL and was so excited to find a Panera, because its usually very good and reliable. I am completely disappointed, however, at this location. I've been twice now and the bread doesn't taste fresh! It's hard at the ends and just mediocre. The bread is one of the main reasons I frequent Panera. Also, the Greek salad was limp and lacked flavor, they served a dinner roll instead of a fresh baguette, and it was just not what I expected.

  • Vanessa L.

Food is pretty good. They have the soup choices that I love, which I can't find any where else (seasonal soups only places)... 1 thing I do have to complain about was the dessert area, bread area had flies on them. Place needs to have a glass case over the bread and dessert (cupcakes, etc...) area.

It was my first time here in this particular panera and the cashier that rang me up was nice I ordered a cookie, chai, a cinnamon crunch bagel toasted with honey walnut cream cheese to go. She might've been new and had to ask her coworker for help. She repeated my order and I happily paid. The iced chai was delicious but when I opened my bag to eat my bagel, it was BURNT not toasted. I tried to make it work by just using the cream cheese and when I ate it..it was hazelnut cream cheese not honey walnut!!! Ughhh then I looked at receipt and it said hazelnut not honey walnut. Weh but what upset me most is I had a burnt hard bagel. I should've asked for refund or exchange it. Don't know why I didn't. I don't think I'll be coming back to this panera, but if I do, it'll be only for their iced chai tea.

Panera is consistently good. We were looking for someplace to grab a bite to eat. I don't like fast food and didn't want a "sit down" meal. Panera fits that bill very well. I either get a sandwich or half a sandwich and soup. The food is always good, served quickly and by friendly people in a nice, clean place to eat.

  • Alexis B.

Nice clean restaurant that is slightly overpriced. A half a sandwich is five dollars and soup another 3.50. Would be better if sandwiches sizes were larger for the cost.

The food was good and the service was decent. I would not recommend coming here to get work done or have a meeting. Their workers in the "kitchen" are very loud and they bang one a bell multiple times when an order is ready. Very distracting.

I can't wait for everyone of these over priced publically traded disasters to close. Dessert are out of the box tasting, Meals & Sandwiches are dry as dirt and taste spoiled. It's never busy and NOW you know why ... It's just vile! Don't do it!

I've heard a lot about Panera Bread. I've seen their commercials. I even read some of their Yelp reviews. But in the end, they didn't live up to the hype. I decided to try the "You Pick Two", although I was surprised at its price. This is a "fast casual" restaurant serving "fast food" quality for $11 a person. And that's without a drink. I had come to Panera craving a salad, and only after searching online for Eastside locations with good salad. Panera's website showed tons of great-looking salads with amazing lists of ingredients. And the Yelp reviews suggested I try the pick-two, so I figured this would be a good way to try two things. I chose the Strawberry Poppyseed & Chicken Salad and the Thai Chicken Flatbread Sandwich. The salad was way, way, way over-dressed. Their website touts some nice nutrition facts which can't possibly be accurate if they overdress the salad. It was beyond sweet, and somehow the fruits were flavorless. Or, maybe their fruit flavor was just masked by all the dressing. The Thai chicken sandwich was full of shredded carrots, which is actually a problem for me (I missed this on the ingredients list; it turned out to be hidden after a "see more", as part of a "napa cabbage blend"). But as my carrot allergy doesn't cause anaphylaxis, I picked them all out and decided to eat the sandwich anyway. I'm not really sure how to describe the flavor. I eat a lot of Thai food, and have eaten a lot of non-Thai foods that are labeled "Thai chicken". Nothing about this seemed "Thai" to me, and in fact the entire flavor was dominated by cilantro. Dominated. Just like the salad had been destroyed by its dressing. So I can't figure out what all the Panera hype is about. You can get a bad salad almost anywhere in this city, and usually it's a lot cheaper.

Didn't expect it to be anything special but have been here several times to grab lunch during work. Really good fresh salads and the greatest surprise is the super friendly and helpful staff, totally better than expected.

The Soba noodle bowl with chicken is quite good. This store has a nice interior, and it feels good to spend some time inside. I could come here to do some work and grab a bite to eat anytime.

I really wanted to like this place but I didn't. It is a little pricier than I anticipated and the portions are smaller. In my opinion, I thought that it wasn't really worth it. The food was OK. My Chicken Noodle Soup was flavorful but my Turkey Bacon Panini was so dry. My daughter's grilled cheese looked pretty good and then when you flip it over it was burnt black. Needless to say, she didn't finish her meal. The customer service is great though. The staff is friendly, I saw them cleaning inside/outside, and the cashier answered any questions that I had about the menu.

Coffee Good. Lunch...Stopped in at Panera. Coffee is always consistent. No complaints. Good. Tried the Mediterranean Chicken Flatbread. I do not know why they said chicken. Checked, and there was a small thin piece of chicken in the sandwich. About an inch in diameter. Ya almost no chicken. However...it did taste great!

Iama Critic Rating - Panera Bread - 2 Stars 6129 East Broadway Boulevard, Tucson, AZ Overall: Panera Bread's sandwich fare was fine for 5 years ago, but while Panera was sleeping the rest of the industry discovered toasting, spices and customer choice toppings. $1.69 - 2010 SM Coffee - 2 Stars I have no idea what that is, that is what it said on my receipt, but it has been a couple of weeks since I was in Tucson and I don't remember this coffee, so it must have been rather forgettable. If you really want to know I am sure Panera's website with make it clear. However, I rinsed out that awful coffee and took the cup and that awesomely huge straw home and used it for smoothies. $4.89 - Black Bean Soup - 2 Stars This soup comes with one of those awful fluffy yeast rolls. And notice that you don't actually see any black beans. Strange but I actually expect black beans in my black beans soup. $7.59 - Italian Combo - 2 Stars This sub comes with an awesome cookie. Frankly that is all that is awesome about this combo. Not because this sub taste bad, but because it just doesn't keep up with the industry standard. This sub is just 5 years behind Subway and Schlotzsky's, with crappy un-toasted french bread, boring meats, and limited toppings.

Lovely, clean well lighted place. Friendly staff. Great salads and sandwiches. Had the chicken salad sandwich. Yummy bread! :-) Friend had the bar b que chicken flatbread sandwich with a strawberry salad. Delicious poppy seed dressing. Hibiscus tea was tasty. One complaint is that the young man who was cleaning a booth we wanted to sit at left it unfinished and went off to deal with the coffee urns. Better staff training would be a good thing. :-)

My wife suggested we try Panera Bread and, as it turns out, not only was I pleasantly surprised by this soup and sandwich locale, but I absolutely love this place. The interior is clean and well organized. Plenty of space to feel as if you aren't jammed in the restaurant. My meal commenced with the French Onion Soup. If you know me, if I see French Onion Soup on a menu, I will likely order it. I've ordered it from dozens of restaurants over the years and I must say that Panera Bread's version is up there with the elites. It was absolutely, positively fantastic. I am pretty sure I will order this at every single solitary visit to Panera Bread that I make in the future. But after my French onion Soup, the real magic hit. I ordered the Italian Combo Sandwich. If you are a lover of sandwich meat combined with seared steak -- and if you aren't then you're vegan / vegetarian and / or un-American -- this sandwich will hit the spot every single time. The quality of lunch meat can't really be challenged by any other deli or sandwich joint in town; not on this delicious concoction of meat and bread. I was apprehensive about Panera Bread, but they've earned themselves a returning customer. Great service + exceptional food + a spotless restaurant = My continuous patronage.

To be honest, I am always think review chain restaurant are kind of pointless. If you had bad service most likely because the employee had a bad day (or perhaps you had a bad day?) If the food wasn't good enough..well~ because their food maybe just sub-par (or perhaps you expecting little too much?) Just be fair, When we started pointing finger to the name on the door sometime just because that inattentive individual misrepresented the business, I for one, can be guilty at times or I always lucky to have great experiences at the same place (such as Abbey, Vero Amore or Planet of the crepes?). Maybe because I am the "frequent flier" Or maybe they just take pride of their business. Sorry to bored you with my social study paper (sometimes just hard for me to shut up...) But Paradise bakery is an example that chain restaurant can be great at both areas (Isn't that the franchise all about?). That they always been consistent and not once a "surprise" such as slow service nor sub-par food. After I moved out of MI, I often missed some of my usual eat out places and Panera Bread was one of them. Thanks to Paradise Bakery had cured my "cheap healthy fast food" craving that lasted me more than 2yrs (PB bought PB them back in April...isn't that interesting?). Its a very busy place during lunch and its not unusual you can't even find a empty table when you ready to sit down. But They always have people cleaning up and wait was never a issue. The right amount the food won't put you in the food coma (well~ not every time). And no matter what kind of sandwich, salad or soup that you ordered. You never have to worry about the inconsistency, at lest for my last 19 visits. So here you go, the reason that PB makes me keep going back not because they knock my socks off but I never have to worry about "surprise"...and I don't like surprise...:)). Although the bakery section are about 1/4 of the size compare to Panera Bread, but I guess I can live with that.

This is one of my safe-lunch spots. It never fails. Even after Panera Bread took over Paradise Bakery, they still remained consistently good. My usual order will consist of one of their salads with a Fire-Roasted Tomato Soup. I currently LOVE their Power Mediterranean Chicken Salad. I've tried a few of their sandwiches (mostly off the bf's plate, since I rarely migrate from my norm), and they were all yummy too. Service is always clean, quick, & very friendly. Haven't met a downer yet.

If there was an option for a minus star I would have used it for this Panera Bread location. THIS IS NOT PANERA BREAD. It may used their logo, but the food is horrible. I had a chicken salad flatbread sandwich, which the tablespoon of chicken salad that was on it wasn't worth the effort to eat! The Greek salad was bitter & lettuce was wilted. I miss the Paradise Bakery items as well. There was nothing better than a quality sandwich from Paradise--Panera doesn't come clase. Won't waste my money on this again.

Since it went in, I have been anxious to try this location as we had been to Paradise while driving through Phoenix (that's the only time I will EVER use Paradise and Phoenix in the same sentence). When my wife suggested this for a quick lunch on our way to the mall, it seemed perfect. You order at the counter and are given one of those little metal stand thingys with a number so they can bring you your food when it's ready. The soda fountain seemed to be MIA, so I had to ask where it was. Turns out, it is waaaayy in the back. The other kind of weird thing is the layout of the place. Walls separate sections, giving it a sort of a maze effect. The food: I had the Chicken Cuban Panini. My wife had half a Smokehouse Bacon and Turkey Panini. We each got a bag of chips. My wife said her sandwich was too smoky (not sure what she expected with smokehouse in the name) for her to enjoy. My Chicken Cuban had one slice of ham, a couple of scrawny slices of chicken breast, Swiss cheese and some sort of strangely sweet sauce that seemed out of place on the sandwich. For nearly eight bucks, the amount of meat in the sandwich seemed skimpy. We each got a free chocolate chip cookie with our meal. That was a nice touch, but the cookie was a little too sweet for me, seemingly from brown sugar overload. The only reason I would go back is to check out the Pick Two special. For $6.99 you get to pick from a selected menu of half sandwiches, soups and salads. Maybe I should have listened to my spidey senses and just got that, I really wanted to like this place. Maybe I just need to lower my expectations of Paradise.

We were driving by and saw panera bread. Upon enter, look at the menu looks good price is alright then whoa total for two $42.00. Just two sandwich and salad. We say no too much then cashier ring it up again, now total is $22.00. When food arrive dang man half sandwich for me and her half sandwich too also two salads. Salad was good! Sandwich is huh. She said where is mayo nada on bread, bring sandwich to cooks and they said oh sorry. Got mayo put on bread herself. Meat was thin slice. I would not go there again ever............ There are other places serve more meat on sandwich not slice meaning ONE SLICE OF MEAT. I see some of tables not wipe clean.

Hmmm. Their Signature Roast beef - not very "signature." Twas a cold slab of American cheese with iceberg lettuce and tomato slice, some deli sliced roast beef, and cold asiago bread. Felt more like a sandwich made in a back alley bakery than in "paradise." The Fuji Chicken salad is decent, but not enough chicken. I try to like the sandwiches here, but they never really impress me, esp when I am mentally matching them up against sandwiches from Beyond Bread and Bison Witches. Wife had tomato soup and grilled cheese, and I'd probably go for that next time, because at least I'd know what to expect. Meh is right.

I've been to Paradise Bakeries in three different states, and this location did not disappoint. This store has a more modern vibe and new feel. It is located in a busy strip off Broadway near the Park Mall. Stopped in for a breakfast sandwich and some coffee. The hazelnut coffee is delicious! The canister was empty but they brewed another right away. Free refills on the coffee. The service was great, they even brought a water bowl out for our dog! Will definitely return to this location.

A friend and I had a quick light and early dinner there after yoga. I have to admit being utterly underwhelmed by this particular PB branch. We arrived about 4:45PM, well after the afternoon crowd and ahead of the evening diners. After ordering, we proceeded to find a table .. most were unoccupied at that time of day. About half the tables we passed had not been wiped down and had crumbs, drink rings, chairs out of place, etc. Hmm.. place was quiet .. why wasn't it cleaned and made neat for the next wave of customers? I had the crumbly blue cheese salad and a half tuna sandwich. The salad was good , not extraordinary, but ok. The tuna was not albacore and definitely came across as an inferior grade of tuna. It had way too much salad dressing on it so it was almost runny! Yuck. Also, I found the whole grain bread to be rather tasteless and gummy (too soft). It would be better toasted I think. The chocolate chip cookie was good, but too sweet and rich for my taste. I'll go back here again if friends want to eat here .. but it won't be by my choice!!

This is not Panera Bread. Not yet anyway. And I am not happy that I was taken in by the signage and look of the place. Panera Bread is amazing bread, the bread at this location was meant to wash your car with--not consume. Id have been better off going home and mixing some flour and water into a paste and eating that. The management was pretty open about the fact that they had changed the name without having the product to back it up. Having come from the east coast and going in solely on name recognition not getting what I am accustom to at a Panera was infuriating and left me feeling really ripped off 30$ later for food that was not worth 5$. They were not able to take my rewards card either. All in all--false advertising, it might look like a Panera, and sound like a Panera (crappy jazz) but this my friends is no Panera Bread!!!! This might be the same company, but it is NOT the same bread---AT ALL!!! Get it together and don't put your name on something that does not have the product, or the ability to get the product for another 6 months!!!!

I think I caught this place in kind of an off night, but I'd like to go back. I went over with a friend and she had some kind of a shrimp in a bread sandwich plate and a salad, although there was some confusion at the register with the cashier who seemed to not be able to figure out the combo of items and price for this item. Not exactly the brightest bulb working the counter. I got a shrimp in noodle salad. It was pretty good. Not a massive quantity and I wish it had some with something else- like a piece of bread or something, and it runs about $9 or so. Not outstanding but I'm willing to try it out again for further review. The shrimp was good- likely frozen and thawed out, but still good, and yummy noddles and sauce. We picked at her salad (great cheese).

I am not a huge fan of the Panera Breads in Tucson. They do not have the full Panera Bread menu. The food they do have is very good. I do love the cheese and broccoli soup and of course that has to be in the bread bowl.

Tried the Shrimp Roll - To my surprise the Sandwich was filled with a good amount of fresh tasting shrimp. A simple yet tasty sandwich, I recommend trying. A nice lil cafe/bakery to grab lunch or a quick snack

If you are from the Mideast, you are probably familiar with Panera Bakery. Panera Bakery bought five Paradise Bakery and Cafes in the area. Apparently, under the rules and guidelines, it will never be called Panera. The manager sat down with my fiance for about 15 minutes explaining the business side of the merger. They mostly adhere to Paneras menu...the you pick two, sandwiches, salads, baked goods, breads, soups, bagels, beverages....but they added hot breakfasts like scrambled eggs, but took away the drool worthy souffles (insert a wimper/pouty face)! They kept the Paradise Cookies, that they were known for. They bring the food out to your table, unlike Panera...and they had two naturally flavored unsweetened teas (green and black) as well as iced coffee as your standard beverages options in the self serve area. I thought that was nice because Panera charges an arm and a leg for their iced teas. They even had the community board near the bathrooms just like Panera and free wifi! If you are looking for fresh, fast and wholesome meal that is not "fast food" this is your best bet. There is seating inside and outside.

Oh how I loved Panera when I lived in Tucson. I am a really big fan of their pesto sacchitini and their snicker doodle cookies. There were times when something was missing for a to-go order, or they forget to put chicken in my tomato mozzarella panini but they've always been more than happy to replace or fix it. I wouldn't recommend getting any of their salads for take out as they give you a lot more when you eat in. Also some of their sandwiches are kind of skimpy. But I love their turkey bacon bravo, their tomato and mozzarella panini, their baked potato soup and their pesto sacchitini.

We've been to Paradise Bakery and Cafe a handful of times now, and I think they're decent. Certainly, they're many steps above other sandwich shops *cough* Subway *cough*. The sandwiches were ok, good even. The turkey club sandwich was a little one note for me, perhaps if I liked tomatoes that wouldn't be the case, but it was good and I would order it again. The meat was good. The bacon was a little skimp. I switched the bread from the croissant to the focaccia, and I think that was an excellent choice. It was a little cheesy, but not overpoweringly so. The overall sandwich was a little bit skimp. The chicken salad sandwich was very good. This sandwich I find myself craving! Sometimes chicken salads can be a little heavy with mayo, but not Paradise's version. The addition of some walnuts mixed within gave the sandwich a nice texture. The molasses bread didn't really standout, but it didn't harm the sandwich, either. The cookies were very good, and you get a pretty large one for free with the purchase of a sandwich. They're large and buttery, and not over the top sweet. The brownies were also very good. Yum yum! I think the bakery is what will have us keep going back to Paradise, because it is solidly good. I can't really speak about the service too much, because we don't interact with them a lot. The people at the counter are helpful when we've asked questions, and the people in the dining area always seem to clean the tables off relatively quickly. So I would say they're a-ok! Overall, I'm glad Paradise opened in this location. I love having more lunch choices closer to home! I would recommend trying out Paradise if you haven't already.

After Panera bought out Paradise I've been disappointed each time we've eaten here. The quality, cleanliness and professionalism has fallen drastically. I think this is the last time we'll be coming by for dinner. Multiple salads that were faves for my friends and I have been removed from the menu. The past few times we've gone the cashiers mumble or have been less than thrilled when speaking to you or taking your order, last nights cashier was almost inaudible. The complementary cookie has been hit and miss, last night it was a miss and we glanced over to see one or two tables with cookies and the others without. Not a big concern but it's a lack of consistency. Several tables sat with dirty dishes for more than half our meal. We were told they were out of rolls. I thought they baked them fresh? My cousin ordered the chipotle BBQ chicken sandwich I believe and it looked like a sloppy mess that was lackluster with the sandwich falling apart in one bite. The greens in our salad looked to possibly be from either bad produce or a package. The apple she received with her meal since they were out of rolls was literally rotten to the core with the core sunken in on the bottom revealing brown rot. I loved coming here for a lighter or fresh dinner but after the past visits of basically the same situations each time, I doubt we'll be coming back or recommending it to anyone anymore. I've worked in food service before and always try to give the benefit of the doubt to the restaurant but it's been disappointing to see Paradise be bought out by a company that has run the menu into the ground in my opinion.

The food is fabulous. The fresh baked goods are spectacular. The prices are reasonable. They lost a star because I hate standing in line. There setup is so not customer friendly. I went with a group, all arriving separately, and they had signs posted to order before you go to tables. Well we had four women over 80 years old.. and I would not make them stand and wait. You are also expected to get your own drinks making it feel like a fast food chain. YUCK! So if you do not mind waiting on yourself it is well worth it. I would go back in a heart beat...I would just make sure I went with a young friend who was willing to stand in the lines for me.

I wanted to love you Paradise Bakery, but it was not meant to be. I was happy when I spotted the "coming soon" sign for this new location.I met a friend for lunch: sandwich and salad. We were underwhelmed by our veggie sandwiches. The bread was nothing special and the filling was sparse and awkward in its chunks. But hey, we got a free cookie and the ambiance was nice. We decided to give them another try. Today's lunch was a hot panini + salad. The bread was reminiscent of grocery store bagels, with a distinctive flavor of dough conditioner. The sandwich fillings were a bit stingy, and the mozzarella that dotted its innards had not melted. The salad smelled of bagged salad. You know the smell. Even the peach tea had an air of artificial ingredients. This is a bakery, shouldn't "bakery" imply "fresh"? Next lunch date, we're back to Beyond Bread. There's no free cookie, but we'll probably spring for a fruit tart as penance for having strayed.

Paradise Bakery is open at 6 am. No real surprises here. Tons of baked goods (muffins, scones, cookies, breads), soups, sandwiches, and salads. I tried the salmon club today - decent salmon, fresh tomatoes, bacon, croissant. I also love the pasta salad here. A combo is around $9. I thought this location was efficient - Paradise has a great turn-around and there are always enough tables/a decent place to hang out/use wi-fi. This new location is next to Neo and very close to McDonald's.

Can you say yummy! Wow I really enjoyed the food. on my second visit while paying for my food I was on my way to grab a drink and dropped my cup on the floor and one of the associates picked it up for me and gave me a new clean cup. Thank you so much for that type of service.

Got there a little after 11 for a quick lunch, I ordered half a sandwich and a caesar salad. We were served pretty quickly. It started to get busy around 12. The area where you get your drinks was a little jammed packed with everyone getting their drinks, but that was not a huge deal. The service was great. The lady that took our plates after we were done eating was super friendly. Bonus was the fresh, soft cookie after our meal! Not a tiny cookie either! Baggins, take note! I'll definitely be going back to try other sandwiches and maybe some fresh baked goodies!
