Had the carne asada in my salad; was the best I've eaten, great place!

I literally eat this at least once (or twice) a week: the Chief Sixto Molina's Low-Carb favorite: Lettuce, Tomatoes, Green Onions, Sliced Avocado, and Cheese with your choice of Machaca, Carne Asada or Chicken I always get shredded chicken - and I believe there are green chiles in there as well that give it a nice spicy kick. Note - come earlier than later this place gets pretty busy. Some of the best service I have ever seen - it's like they RACE to refill your drink glass - even if you only have water. I heart you Micha's. My other fav is the vegetarian plate - calabacitas w/ rice and beans - YUM!

I really like the food here. The service is...fine. But the food is quite good. This is on my list of places to take out-of-towners. I usually ask for light cheese because they tend to put too much cheese for me...but I'm weird and don't love cheese that much. I usually get enchiladas or chile rellenos. Dining partner generally gets ground beef burritos or chimis, and he agrees that we like Micha's.

I came here for breakfast. The bean and egg burrito was okay. I feel like the entrees are more what people tend to order. However, the salsa is really good! I might go back to try an entree.

Michas is another Tucson oldie that has stood the test of time, 25 years to be exact! I walked in for an early lunch at 11 and the place was already filling up. Known for it's fast service it's definitely a convenient lunch spot for those who work in South Tucson. Full disclosure: Sonoran style Mexican food is not my favorite and I'm from here! And I prefer to eat it at home. So when I venture out, my go to dishes are usually fajitas, tacos, guacamole, albondiga soup and breakfast burrito. That being said, when I go out for Mexican food, my rating system weighs heavily on the quality of the salsa, the cut of the meat, what type of cheese is used, tortilla quality and salt content. This may seem unfair, but great quality ingredients for great Mexican food are basically at our fingertips in Tucson, so I expect Mexican restaurants to serve up the best! I ordered the Fajitas on this visit and overall they were tasty but not served as they traditionally are on smoking hot skillet. It was more like a chicken stir-fry with sauteed onions and bells, re-fried beans and rice. My side of corn tortillas was disappointing. They were dry and cracked. The salsa was underwhelming. Usually, I have little to no self control when it comes to chips and salsa. In this case, one bite was plenty.

At least 3 days a week growing up, I would eat a Ham & Cheese Omelet at Michas. The freaking BEST! I am still here at least once a week for breakfast. Micha's has got to be the best place in town for a Mexican Breakfast. Omelets, Choriza, Machaca, Menudo...All fantastic! The service is great and the kitchen is fast. You can be in & out in 15/20 minutes.

Had a work meeting here and the food was excellent. I understood exactly what the hype was about. It is just good food with no frills. The staff was friendly and my coffee cup was never empty.

This review is all about their enchilada sauce. I think it's hard to find a good enchilada sauce; either it has too much red chile or not enough. This place makes it just like my little spit fire abuelita - it's the perfect taste and consistency.

Went in for lunch. Local Tucsonan & I've never eaten here. Never really heard anyone talk about it. I wasn't impressed. I had a lunch combo with a bean tostada, cheese enchilada and ground beef taco. The food tasted like the atmosphere the workers created. The " I don't really care." Attitude.

I used to be a regular in the early '80s. Back then, it was just a converted house with limited seating, but the food was the best on S. 4th. Gilbert and Micha treated me like family. Sadly, as is often the case, the food went downhill after the remodel. I've been back a few times, but it is always a disappointment.

Family restaurants always reign victorious in my heart. I wanted it to taste like the stuff I have eaten in San Francisco, LA and real Mexico, but it still seemed to cater to the type of guy who pronounces quesadilla as Kay-Suh-Dil-Uh, with mostly bland flavors and outrageously overloaded portions. No problem with the second part, but sometimes you just want to pay less for that kind of thing but you can't here because the prices start in the double digits for most small (really big) entrees. Unfortunately, Arizona is just not a sane place to find the real thing as far as Mexican cuisine. However, this could be a taste that's totally foreign to me as a Californian probably just getting a taste of Baja California as opposed to the tastes that may be more true to the mainland of the country, or the border areas.

We had a lunch at Micha's and although I wasn't impressed with the atmosphere or the standard chips and salsa, they were ok. When it came to the carne asada though it was some of the best I'd ever had. Very impressive and not at all that pricey. I had a chimi and the size was more than I could eat for a lunch meal and it was perfectly made. The garnish was very good too with fresh peppers and not pickled. The rice and beans were average. Overall I would give the chimi a 5+ and the rest 3 stars. Worth the trouble to find for lunch.

  • Tyler K.

We frequently go there for "going away" lunches when people transition at work. The food is standard mexican fare, but they are used to big groups. If you want truly sensational Mexican food try Mi Nidito, right up 4th avenue. Overall, not bad, not great.

We came here last Sunday, Mothers Day (of all days). The parking lot was full, walked through the door and were seated immediately (no waiting, right on!). I ordered their red chile chimichanga enchilada style and my partner ordered a carne asada combination plate. He wanted a small sample of their menudo and our waitress Lisa brought him a small bowl with lots of menudo (totally surprised by their generosity). He loved their menudo and thoroughly enjoyed his whole meal which he could not finish....leftovers. My chimi was huge, I could only eat half of it (took the other half home) and as always their chips and salsa were off the chain.....so good. I have upgraded my star rating from three to five.

  • Herb H.

Excellent. Sonoran style food. Home cooking for residents of southern Arizona. The service was excellent and quick. Server was very pleasent. Had a chance to speak with the management who was also very pleasent. The only thing that was a problem is that they close earlier than most restaurants.

My family used to really like Micha's when I was a kid. However, recently, my grandmother has gotten sick every time she eats there. Throwing up for hours, it's sad to see her like this. So because of this, I do not like this place anymore, nor do I recommend it to Anyone!

  • Maximiliano L.

Micha's is decent Mexican food if you are in the area and craving it. It's not the best but definitely offers quick, cheap, and quality food. There are a wide varitey of options on the menu.

The best Carne Seca tacos in town! The chips and salsa are sooo good too. The service is very fast and efficient. I have tried to eat here at least once a week for the last six months because I cannot get over how wonderful the Carne Seca tacos are. My mom loved the salsa so much she asked to buy some and take it home, it was only $3! Love this place!

  • Mark S.

I used to love this place. 10 or 15 years ago (did Yelp even exist then?) I would have probably complained that there were not enough stars to award. Alas, lately (I am sure it's just me getting old) I can only award three stars. The food is salty, inconsistent and service can be pretty bad. Still, I have many fond memories of Micha's to fall back on. If only I could eat my memories.

We decided to go have some Micha's today for lunch after an appointment elsewhere. In the past, we've had decent experiences, which is why I gave an extra star, but today's experience was more like a 2.5. We both ordered carne asada burritos, enchilada style. It was impossible to taste anything on the plate because of the extreme amount of salt in the food, mostly in the enchilada sauce. It was unpleasant, and made me cringe a little bit from the intensity. The meat was ok, but I did get a few fatty pieces. The tortilla was good. The salsa was good. The portions are ok, but they should give rice and beans or some sort of side with their burritos if they are going to charge $8.50 ($10.50 with enchilada style and $13.00 if you want sour cream as well). The service was fast, but not overly personable. They just want to rush you out of the door and herd more people in as fast as possible. Overall, I'm still inclined to say give Micha's a try. It has been decent in the past, and I hope the heavy handed chef who salted the food today doesn't make it a habit.

Would have never, EVER expected a place to be off the beaten path like this. I was actually a little concerned when my cousin drove me over here but, I love homey places such as this. So I walked in told them I was dying of hunger and they came out were very friendly and went ahead and gave us the standard chips and water. Perfect, now everything is getting better because I have something to coat my stomach...I don't need anything special so I just ask the waiter where the enchiladas are without really looking at the menu and says "2 enchiladas coming up". I love it. Then I looked over and saw someone that had margaritas -- and I really really wanted one but I was trying to not drink that night. Man, Michas delivered and they gave me extra fillers to fatten me up. I walked out feeling good about this experience and I will absolutely go back here again. Legit 4 estrellas.

  • Paul A.

Flat out sucks. They can't even make a decent salsa for chips it is generic, I've had better store bought salsa and if they think making mediocre Mexican food is acceptable then they need to just close the doors. The red chili sauce taste like it's right out of a can and no flavor, the rice just sucks hard and dry. There is plenty if other decent Mexican restaurants to go to on the southside go to one of them instead

  • Peg P.

It's been a while since I last ate at Micha's. I think I got them on a bad day. The place was packed....a good sign....but we waited forever for our orders to be taken. Our server was apologetic when she finally came to get our order but the lady serving our salsa and drinks was not a happy camper. My cheese enchiladas were covered in a sauce so salty it was almost inedible. And the combo was warm and not piping hot. The chips were great but I wish we had a mild as well as hot salsa to go along with them. I'll return again some day but with so many wonderful choices in South Tucson, it might be a while.

This place was just what I was looking for when in Tucson for business. I wanted authentic, high quality Mexican food with some flavor and spice, and that is exactly what I got! The salsa was spicy but not overpowering, and the margaritas were tasty without being overly sweet (no skimping on the tequila at this establishment!). I wanted to try everything on the menu so I went a la carte and tried the machaca, carne asada, chicken enchilada, and chile relleno. All were superb! I would definitely recommend the machacha anything and the chicken was white meat and very tender and delicious. It was definitely a good value for the money and encourage a visit anytime you are in Tucson. 5-stars!!!!

Great place for quick good cheap lunch.

  • Brennan M.

I had the machaca enchiladas, and my fiance had the green chili with beans chimichanga. The chimi was pretty tasty, and their machaca tastes nice, but there's nothing about this place that makes it stand out from other Mexican places in town. Given that it's a pretty far trek down to 36th and 4th, I don't think we will be going back.

Chile rellenos in the Tucson Area rated according to the Homeland Security Advisory System with three word descriptors. Micha's: nice canned chile. Green See photos.

My husband's cousin brought us here for lunch on the recommendation of his coworker. None of us had ever been here before. I have to say, when you walk through the door and it smells delicious, that's a good sign. All the food was great. One of us ordered flautas, one of us had a carne asada chimichanga, and I had a carne asada topopo salad (I just had to order that because I thought the name "topopo" was a trip!) We all really enjoyed our food and they serve very generous portions, none of us could even finish. Also they have yummy margaritas! I had two mango margaritas and I highly recommend them!

My family has been going to Micha's for 30 years. My first solid food as a baby was a Micha's cheese enchilada. So we have history! My family has had various special events here over the years, including catered ones. Everything is always delicious! The decor is a bit dated and nothing special, but don't let it fool you. This is some seriously good Mexican food! Their menu is pretty huge, and you can get all kinds of "combo" choices. Some highlights... Their hot salsa is, well... awesome sauce! Their green corn tamales are some of the best around. Their cheese enchiladas are STILL one of my favorite foods! The beef patty tacos can take some getting used to, but I have yet to meet someone that is NOT a convert after trying them.

BLECH!!!! Seriously Yelpers???? 4 stars? ICK! And pricey crud too! Entrees are $9 and over. TERRIBLE chips. The worst I've ever had in my 53 years. Thick, cold, and taste like cheap bagged chips. Barely mediocre salsa/hot sauce. Nothing special at all. Red chile: Double ICK. Cubed meat wasn't cooked long enough and it was so tough. Not sure how they could even sell it. Red chile had absolutely NO flavor either. No cumin taste, no spices. Bland! St. Mary's and Little Mexico have very good red chile, but I still don't think anything beats Las Margaritas on Grant. They have seriously spicy, flavorful and tender chile! Beans and rice were fine, but that's not really why we go to Mexican food restaurants, right? Ambience totally sucks too. Service was inadequate. Server never came by after dumping off our food to see how things were. Had been to Michas 3 or 4 times over 10 years and they have never been anything special. Unfortunately, Little Mexico was closed, starvation set in and we ended up here. Never, ever again.

This is where my work usually gets Mexican food catered in from and its pretty good. Its your standard Mexican fare. But, when I am in the area and am craving Mexican I will usually swing in here for a couple of reasons. One, service has always been good no matter what time of day. Two, the salsa has some kick to it. I usually go with the Carne Seca tacos. You get three, and its pretty darn good. They cover them with a lot of lettuce and some cheese, but that doesn't bother me. I like filling up on lettuce as it makes me feel better for eating a fried tortilla filled with meat.. I have in the past had the tamale, but I say skip that one. Stick with enchilada's or tacos and you should be okay.

Sharing a pollo and fish taco with a side a guacamole, we sat at picnic tables to dig in. This is a bare bones operation, but the food is made with love. Have we had better, sure, but in the area this is a worthwhile place to come in and have a quick bite. Price are VERY reasonable.

Great Mexican food on the South Side. AMBIENCE: 4 stars. Very comfy family restaurant. You definitely get a sense of how much the owners/staff relish their place in the community. Cool shrine area at the front commemorating people who were important to the restaurant. Very casual and comfortable. SERVICE: 4 stars. We were greeted and seated immediately. Very busy Saturday afternoon, so it took a bit of time to get everything out to the table, but the staff kept our glasses full and the chips and salsa satiated us. FOOD: 4 stars. Great! May challenge Rosa's for a special place in my heart! Their spicy salsa is really good (and I am picky), and their chips are great. The machaca is their specialty, and I went with the machaca burro enchilada style (since this is in Tucson I am not going to bother explaining machaca or enchilda style to you, dear reader). The macaca is tender and juicy and delicious--and well seasoned! I would go back right now if I could!

During the 80s as a child my family used to go to Micha's fairly often. Once I was on my own I didn't return for any particular reason. I always liked it and remember the food being very good with a decent atmosphere too. After a very long hiatus, I decided on whim to return with my own family. The atmosphere was still good, although the place was slightly worn around the edges in a good way. That's to be expected after almost a quarter of a century. It's a casual family place, not a fine dining establishment. The food was still very good, maybe not quite up to par with what I remembered, but I don't know if that is just an artifact of memory or actual reality. We were served with only one bowl of tortilla chips with no refills offered. I don't know if refills cost extra, or if it was just laxness on our server's part. The chips were fresh and decent, but some weren't warm. The salsa was very good. I ordered the #17 combination plate, in which I had a red chili chimichanga along with refried beans and rice. The red chili had tender cubes of beef in a savory red chili sauce. At some Mexican restaurants the red chili sauce has a somewhat bland taste marred with a texture that is too thick presumably due to too much flour as a thickening agent. Not a Micha's as the sauce had just the right amount of thickness. Going overboard with red chili sauce, I ordered my chimi enchilada style, and it was very good and covered with melted cheddar cheese. The chimi itself was perfectly crisp on the outside with more of a non-fried flour tortilla texture on the inside, which is good but slightly different than the usual chimichangas in the area as they are more crispy throughout the tortilla wrapping. The refried bean were very flavorful and covered with melted cheese also. The rice was tasty, but it lukewarm and had a few cold clumps in it, so I would only say it was only fair. My wife had a carne asada burrito. It was good, but it was pretty dry and lacked the amount of onions and tomatoes that other places typically have. To counteract the dryness she ordered a side of guacamole, which also was a little atypical. The guacamole had a lot of onions, but the unusual part was that it also had some cottage cheese mixed in. Unusual, but good. One of my sons got a bean chimichanga, which was like mine in that it was crispy on the outside, but less so than other places on the inside. He liked it a lot. My other son ordered a machaca taco, chicken enchilada and rice. His plate looked good, and he said it was great. The service was good but not great. Our server was for the most part all business and not overly friendly. The bus boy was very friendly, however. I would go back again. My kids loved it, and I thought it was good, but my wife was only partially impressed. So it won't be a place that we would frequent with any regularity, but I wouldn't hesitate to go again

I no longer live in Tuson and my Mexican wife and my uber-gringo self miss Micha's big time. If you want taco-hell then by all means give it a miss...if you want the real-deal...check it out. Awesome, authentic, cheap Mexican food...give it a try and then be sure to write your own review here. I think some of these folks caught them on a rare bad day...I have 14 years of experience in south Tucson...Micha's never disappointed us. By the way, I am reviewing the location near downtown by the dog racing park, not the other locations which I cannot speak to.

We travel to Tucson and through Tucson a lot heading to Cochise County, and depending on the time of day we either breakfast, lunch or dinner here. Always. It's that good. We like the atmosphere (laid back), the family members running the show, the long-time waitstaff AND the food. Anything is good. Seriously. Breakfast chorizo and eggs, huevos rancheros are good choices, spouse loves their pancakes. I love their refried beans doctored up with their kicky red salsa. Gets a great eclectic mix of patrons which is distinctly Tucsonian, and that's fun too. Live long and prosper MIcha's, we've enjoyed your food for years!

Some of the best food in Tucson. I am a Native to Tucson so I have eaten good Mexican food all over town but Micha's is in the top 2. I have NEVER had a bad meal from this place. Always friendly service, clean and fast to serve the correct meal, hot and tasty! My fave is the "patty beef" taco. Comfort food when I was a kid! Not as good as Moms, but what ever is? These are about the closest thing to Heaven I have tasted. Carne Seca is Great! Margaritas round off the meal quite nicely!

The best Mexican restaurant in Tucson. It close to work and easily accessible via 1 10. Fresh Guacamole is excellent and must have. Chips and hot salsa if very fulfilling. For large group I would recommend reservations.

Great food and handled a large group well. I think I had carne seca enchiladas, whatever it was, it was really good. Many menu items are numbered with what could be interpreted as valid hexadecimal numbers.

It's been so long since I've had a real Mexican breakfast that I didn't have to cook myself, so I was really looking forward to this place. First off, I must say that I always answer in the language I'm spoken to. If I'm greeted in English, I answer in English. If I'm greeted in Spanish, I answer in Spanish. And, no, I don't get all "THIS IS AMERICA, LEARN ENGLISH" only because, technically, and as a country, we don't have an official language. Anyway, a waitress lady greeted us in very heavily accented English. I replied in English. She left and another waitress came. Only this one spoke better English. I felt horrible. Like I'd snubbed the first waitress when that wasn't my intention at all. Sorry. OK, so now to the food. -sigh- I was let down again. I ordered eggs with machaca. I sort of figured they'd be "ropa vieja" or "grenudas" style (a sort of little omelet made with machaca and an egg batter then topped with a green chile/tomatillo sauce.) I don't know why I assumed that and was very disappointed when I saw scrambled eggs mixed with machaca. Also, the beans had yellow cheese in them. Oh no! They thought we were non-Spanish speaking folk who probably like American cheese. I was really looking forward to Asadero cheese. Oh well. It was all alright food, I just expected different. I expected more. The waitresses were really very, very nice and they probably would have brought something else out if I would've asked them, but I didn't. My husband had scrambled eggs with chorizo (which I could've just as easily made at home) and the kids had pancakes (also could've been had at home). I just felt sort of like I went went somewhere pretty far from my house only to end up feeling like I paid for something I could've made myself. I hate that feeling.

The undisputable, "hand's down," BEST Carne Asada burrito available in Tucson! Absolutely worth driving past Mi Nidito to get to Micha's--Micha's KILLS Mi Nidito with their Carna Asada burrito! And, although Mi Nidito's "hype" precedes them...Trust me on this one with your whole heart!...Repeat after me: Must go to Micha's!...You won't be mad at me in the end!...=))

Micha's opened with a dangerous salvo: salsa that tasted like ketchup and horchata watered down from a cheap concentrate. As we were reeling from this, they hit us with the entrees, which were basically salt disguised as food. The machaca blazed a hitherto unknown culinary trail into the heart of blandness. Furthermore, while machaca should be salty, there are safety limits--limits that Micha's exceeded several times over. It's hard to make cured beef suck, but there are talented magicians working in their kitchen. Depressingly, the machaca was downright wonderful compared to the menudo, an inedible saline bath reminiscent of the Pacific Ocean, if the Pacific was full of hominy. It was initially promising--the bowl was loaded with corn and tripe, the broth was thick and opaque, and there were bones floating in the depths. But a few spoonfulls lead to a spike in blood pressure and the soup had to be abandoned; better to have a bowl of cereal at home. Our experience may have been atypical, but we won't be returning to find out. Mediocre food is forgivable, inedible food isn't.

As an x-Tucsonan, I miss Michas, where I ate on a weekly basis. However, still I go to Michas every business trip, about once a month. On occasion, I drive the 130 miles to South Tucson just for a GREAT meal. My 2 favorites are the machaca chimichanga and the cheese crisp (quesadilla). The cheese crisp is really crispy because they start with a deep fried flour tortilla. Loads of cheese is added and rebaked. To die for! Service is prompt, chips are hot, and salsa is muy picante! South Tucson has multiple, excellent Mexican food restaurants.....but Michas is my favorite.

Pretty good place. Tried their tostada with the squash - made for a good vegetarian dish, although I added a machaca taco with it. Both were very tasty. My friend ordered their #1 combo and he was quite satisfied. We both left for under $10 each. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Tucson.

Micha's is my favourite Mexican restaurant anywhere. The salsa is awesome, the carne asada burros are like no other. (And I've been trying to find something even close in PHX.. no luck...nada). Tucson offers so many great restaurant options, but Micha's is the only must-visit when i come to town.

This is in a part of town that felt a little uncomfortable, but the restaurant itself was very acceptable. The service was good, the food was plentiful, but was bland.

As a Tucson native and no spring chicken, I feel I'm experienced enough to rate Mexican restaurants in town. I have tried many, and find Micha's to be mostly good, solid Sonoran fare. HOWEVER -- their seasonings on some dishes are not quite top-notch in my opinion and -- yes, I'm a food snob -- when I find fat or Unidentifiable Foodlike Objects in my carne seca or carne asado or machaca, I am not a happy camper. Micha's failed in this regard and I'm permanently grossed-out. Tucson has some great Mexican Restaurants -- go to one of them instead.

Almost as good as Mi Nidito with faster service, no wait, and less $'s! Try their green corn tamale, not something you can find at every Mexican restaurant in town. The tamales are served "pure", not fancied-up like at El Charro's. I also loved their enchiladas, albondigas soup (meatballs), tortilla soup as well as cocido soup. They also have a nice selection of Mexican beers, a big plus! I miss Micha's!

Such a great experience - hands down the most exceptional service I've ever received. While getting out the car my 3 year old daughter fell and landed face first on the asphalt parking lot. She was crying as the blood was running down her face. My cousin went inside to get some napkins and a restaurant employee (or possibly the owner) responded immediately. He gave a stack of napkins and offered ice for the wound. As we attended to my daughter in the parking lot, this employee came outside with a bag of ice and to offer any assistance. He welcomed us inside the bathroom to clean up and determine if we needed to visit urgent care. While in the bathroom, the employee brought a clean wet towel to aid in cleaning my daughters face. He even brought a band aid. Once the wound was clean and the band aid was applied my daughter calmed down so we decide to continue with our dinner plans and be seated. A server brought us to our table and offered us drinks. With the chips and salsa arriving as we were being seated, I began to think this place is amazing - first helping me with my daughter and now this quick service. Our order was taken and endless chips were delivered. The server was extremely responsive and asked a few times throughout our meal if my daughter was okay. About 15 minutes after being seated, another employee arrived to our table with Neosporin and new band aids. The restaurant had sent an employee to Walgreens to purchase these items for us. I was shocked. I didn't expect the first band aid provided in the bathroom let alone the trip to Walgreens to get additional band aids and ointment. The staff at this restaurant was sincere, responsive and extremely attentive to our situation. Additionally, the chicken flautas were amazing. Shredded white meat chicken rolled in corn tortillas - delicious. The best chicken flautas I've had. To top off this great experience, the original employee (who I believe to be the owner) told us the bill was on him and didn't charge us. We were going to Michas for the excellent food but ended up getting much more than that. This is definitely a restaurant that goes above and beyond for their customers. I recommend this place to all - the best authentic Mexican food restaurant!!!

The chips and salsa wear great for us and the salsa has a little kick which is nice compared to most places water downed stuff. The carne asada had great flavor and the chimichanga dough or tortilla was finished perfectly.

Been coming here since I was little. Great people work here and the Mexican food is amazing. Can't go wrong with anything you order!

"Blah" is the best descriptor of this food. I came here for a meeting, so we had a catered order already prepared. Maybe hot trays ruined the quality? I just found everything here fairly bland. Only really good things were the chips (just the chips...the salsa tasted like watery tomato sauce) and the service. However, I'm aware maybe we didn't get the best food as part of the catering order. I'd be willing to give it another shot next time I'm in Tucson.

Authentic southwested mexican food. Beans, good. Rice, good. Cheese enchiladas, good. Don't miss it in Tucson. Seriously.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
