Gringo Mex just this side of Rubio's . Fresh salsa bar.I had the Stuffed Fajita Quesadilla with chicken. It came with chips & a dollop of guacamole & sour cream. I also really enjoyed their iced tea. Located in the Batteries Plus side of the shopping center by Bookman's on Speedway.

I have a lot of co-workers that love this place, but every time I go there, I walk away thinking that it just taste like my white mom's version of Mexican food and not authentic at all.. Probably due to being a chain.. and its way over priced. Especially seen as how Taco Tote is right down the road for much less. It's not bad.. just better options...

The best Chicken Tortilla Soup I have ever had!!!! You must try the soup...you can order it without the salad. It has grilled chicken, wonderful broth, avocado, corn, tomatoes, onion and cilantro...which I add additional cilantro at the Salsa Bar!!!! This is not on the menu year round so hurry and try the Chicken Tortilla Soup before it goes away!

It's La Salsa! This one is bright and big inside and I noticed it has decent views if you sit by the window (you can see Wilmot/Speedway and the mountains). Yeah, it's semi-fast Mexican, but a nice view is still a good thing. See review of the Discount Tire in Oro Valley.

La Salsa went above and beyond my expectations for a Mexican-themed fast food restaurant. The ingredients are all fresh. They have a large variety or toppings and sauces at the salsa bar. The portions are absolutely huge and reasonably priced. I was overwhelmed by the high number of choices on the menu. I wish I lived close to a La Salsa so I could try everything. I will demand a return visit, if I'm ever back in Arizona.

For fast Mexican food this place is great. Slower than Taco Bell, Nico's and places like that but quicker that Casa Molina, La Parilla Siuza and places like that! Food taste fresh and cures the itch or crave if you will for Mexican food!

I had the green chile Burrito which was recommended by the employee. The burrito is fantastic. I dressed it up with various salsas from their salsa bar. I love the pineapple and the spicy habeneros salsa.

Fresh and Delicious! The salsa bar is the best and avocado flavor is my favorite. Wonderful staff and great service! Order the Chile-Lime Chicken Salad with dressing on the side makes for a healthy and delicious lunch! The Baja fish tacos are really good but go light on the sauce and cheese. Once you come a few times, Manny the manager will recognize you and start your order. Marjorie the owner is seen frequently and is quick to offer a smile.

Is it possible to have break-up sex with a restaurant? Maybe it'd be break-up eating. Whatever. Anyway, last Thursday we were heading home to New Mexico from Phoenix and were going to meet a friend at the El Charro's on Broadway. It was my favorite place to eat while traveling with my wife and dog as we could eat on the patio which was nicely shaded. But it was not to be: there's now a big stupid CVS pharmacy on the corner and it is no more. So we dug in to Yelp and Google Maps and some site called FindFido (IIRC) to find restaurants nearby that were dog-friendly. And we found La Salsa. We called, they said they had outdoor seating and allowed dogs, so off we went. And it was pretty good. It wasn't El Charro good, but it was several steps up from Taco Bell on their menu diversity and quality. My wife had the Tacos El Pastor, a standard for her, I had a taquito/quesadilla platter. Both were quite good, we really liked their salsa bar, but I found the quesadilla a little lame. Still, all in all, a pretty good meal, just not what I wanted or was expecting. Not a bad consolation prize. Had I thought a bit and not been emotionally traumatized by losing the El Charro location, I would have plugged their name in to Google Maps and found the location a block from where we were when we began our search. Unfortunately the FindFido site doesn't do mapping very well and it was kind of hard to find specific locations.

Before I had ever had a fish taco, the thought of one disgusted me and I figured there was no such thing as a good one. Coming from New Mexico, I never really grew up on good seafood considering the lack of a fresh source for it. A friend pushed me out of my comfort zone and convinced me to try fish tacos at La Salsa, and now I've been kicking myself for waiting so long! No other fish taco compares, I'm telling you. I don't care how many other great things are on their menu, I have only ever gotten, and will probably only continue to get the fish tacos. It comes with two tacos, wrapped with two soft, fresh, warm tortillas with a spectacular spicy sauce, crisp cabbage, and generous slices of ripe avocados. I devour every last bite, every time. Along with the tacos, they serve warm salted chips and provide a salsa bar, hint "La Salsa", for you to dip your chips until your heart is content. My favorite has got to be the mango salsa, just because it's not something you see often and the fresh mango, onions and cilantro are a beautiful mix. They have so many great salsa options and I can guarantee everyone will find one they like. Besides the great fish tacos, the other great thing about this place is that it provides fast food, without all the grease and feeling of guilt once your done like most "fast foods". I think I know what I'm gonna have for dinner....

So, this was actually my first time at La Salsa. I was pleasantly surprised. The place was clean and the line went quick. I had some fish tacos and chips. I love the salsa bar and all the different items. The tacos were good. Not fantastic, but solid. I would definitely head back here again.

La Salsa is a local chain of Burrito and Taco Stands mostly in Tucson. The food is better then most fast food taco shops. I happen to love the shrimp. They are always very good. The salsa (go figure) is what makes this place. They have a salsa bar filled with wonderful flavors of salsa. Go for the Mango. It is so good. I love La Salsa more then most other Mexican Fast Food Restaurants.

I'm actually writing about their Grant Street location in Tucson. La Salsa is fast-food no matter which location you visit--like the majority of eateries in this city. Their Grant Street location experience: the person at the cash register stood there stone-faced, no smile, breathing eagerly, expecting the customer to instantly blurt out their order, pay for the meal, take the number and then a table. The shrimp burrito came out singed, too much cabbage. The eating establishment itself was a little unkept, you bus your own table. I'll pass on this next time.

It had been a long while since I had been here and decided to give it a try. Better than I expected... still not great. They had a hard taco trio special. You could have any combination of beef, chicken or pork carnitas. I chose to have one of each. The tacos were standard hard tacos stuffed with grilled meat and were served with rice and black beans. The portion was good for the price and the salsa bar gives you lots of options for toppings. I will probably make a return visit to sample some of the other menu items.

Service was alright, but the food made up for it. Delicious!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
