This was my first trip to Jerry Bob's and I was quite impressed. I arrived there at about 9 a.m. and the place was very busy. I thought that I would have to wait for quite some time to be served because of the amount of people in the restaurant. To my surprise, my waitress was at my table in less than two minutes. My breakfast was served about five minutes after I placed my order. I am impressed by the portion sizes of the meals served at Jerry Bob's. I certainly didn't go away hungry. I was also impressed by the cost of the meal. If you go to a chain restaurant in the area you will pay 3 or 4 dollars more for a comparable breakfast. My waitress was a very polite young lady. She was the most polite waitress that I've ever had at any restaurant and my cup of coffee was constantly refilled without having to ask for a refill. Jerry Bob's is a friendly , clean, affordable down home kind of restaurant. I will definitely go back to Jerry Bob's in the future . Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Went here after the Color Vibe 5k. We were seated outside in the sun. It was quite nice but needs more shade! Hehe. I can't say I am quite a fan because 1) I never really saw the inside of the restaurant but the outside was not bad. 2) I order a waffle and two sausage links. The presentation of the two links were not very appealing but they were good. The Waffle was a good size....I forced myself to finish at least half. I did (not to waste it) but I didn't finish the waffle because it essentially taste like starch. It had a high starch consistency and my friend had the rest of my half and agreed with me. My other friends had one of the omelet and it was pretty big and he said it was pretty good. To me, I thought it was okay but to them, I guess it was great because they licked their plates clean. I felt bad but I thought it was funny.

I had heard how good the food was and wanted to give it a try. The restaurant was extremely busy on a Sunday morning; however, we didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered the short stack of pancakes and a side of hashed browns. The pancakes were decent, but cooked with too much oil for my taste. They were a little on the heavy side. The hashed browns were good. The waitress was came by and refilled our coffee. Overall, I think it's a good place for breakfast.

I've been coming here for over 10 years and the service has always been outstanding. The food is excellent and the portions never lack. The staff is always welcoming and attentive. It's our favorite family spot.

Homestyle breakfast for the lazy mornings when you just want to show up and eat whatever you want like at grandma's house. The service is usually good and a couple of servers are super. My friend and I had gone on Tuesday and kept seeing this unfamiliar dish, so when we finally asked our server as we were paying, she told us it was their Tuesday special, chicken and dumplings. She then graciously came back with a small sample for us to try, and we're definitely going back next Tuesday for some of that.

Large portions when ordering a simple bacon, egg and hash brown breakfast!

Food is pretty good, and has a quaint, quiet atmosphere. The service is hit or miss. I had excellent service one time and a pretty spacey server the second time. I've added it to my list of regular places to dine near my house.

Pretty standard american diner menu. Hear their daily specials are cheap, although came in when prices were standard rate and left under $100 for 12 people! Would come back here again for bargain breakfast after a night of fun. If your expectation levels are reasonable, this place will be a good solution for budget food.

Checked in here yesterday, and I loved it. The waitress was very nice, and friendly, the food was great, and cheap. I don't know why these aren't on the east coast! I had the two eggs, bacon, hash browns, and wheat toast, with a waffle on the side. Along with my drink, everything was about $11! And they were huge portions too! I loved it and will be coming back again.

An ok restaurant. Very affordable. You can get eggs, bacon, toast sausage for all under $10

I have raved about the customer service in my past reviews for this place. So I will keep this update short and sweet. I'm gonna let you in on a little secret...I order the Chicken & Dumplings 90% of the time I come here. Chicken and Dumpling Day only happens once a week. I probably shouldn't be telling you this because next week I might have to fight you for the last serving! I've been here a few times when they actually ran out! Luckily for me I had already ordered mine and was eating it when the server had to break the news to the guy at the table next to me. ;) Don't be that guy. They serve it every Tuesday, begining at 11am. Be there or be square. ^__^

In the mood for hot piping breakfast to keep you full...? Then Jerry Bob's is it! They have the absolutely best breakfast I've had in a while. My wife asked for super crispy but not overly crispy hash browns and they made it perfectly. A definite plus for her. The price was decent and you can eat well for a little price. Love how clean & homey feeling this place is. Definitely could enjoy any meal of the day

Jerry Bobs is a great go-to Tucson diner. Basic and familiar menu, quick and efficient service, at an excellent price. The food is consistently good. The coffee is just okay. I usually come for breakfast, but they do a great lunch too. I always leave satisfied and happy.

I'm a big fan of Jerry Bob's because the price is so fair for the quality that you receive. This is true value at it's finest. I've eaten at this location 3 times, and while I prefer the Broadway and Rosemont location for it's speed and friendly service, this location is a close 2nd. I've had the corned beef hash and eggs with grits and toast, as well as the pancakes, the bacon and the biscuits and gravy. The corned beef hash is decent, the eggs not quite as perfect (I like mine over medium), they usually come out a little harder than I like. The toast arrives buttered and I really appreciate that. The pancakes are warm and fluffy, the bacon delicious, and the oj tastes great and is ice cold. The service here is ok. They are pretty good about refills, and relatively friendly. A thumbs up all the way.

Absolutely the best fried catfish fillets in town (daily lunch special)... and on Friday nights, all-you-can-eat fried catfish chuncks special is fantastic (served with fresh lemon slices and a very good tartar sauce) and only at this location. We REALLY miss Mr. Kim's all-you-can-eat BBQ Beef Ribs (now serves pork ribs), so we do not go there EVERY Friday night like we used to. Also outstanding soups; split pea and navy bean. Tuesday lunch special is chicken and dumplings.... delicious. Large grilled chicken salad is very good. Side salads are huge. Sometimes service can be a little slow coming out of the kitchen. Best waitress is Amanda. The owner Mr. Kim is one of the hardest working people I know.... always there, prepping in the kitchen himself.

Prices were good. Food is pretty good. Everything was well cooked and served hot. My only complaint is the service. The only time we could get refills was if I waived the server down. She was in a hurry and very cold toward us. Obvious she didn't like her job or want to serve customers.

Great breakfast place. The sort of joint you might see a Congressman working the early-morning crowd to win the votes of "real people." Homemade cinnamon rolls are disarmingly fluffy and light, with a thin glaze. Omelettes are generous in size. Great and fast service.

They are not all alike! This Jerry Bobs just West of Pantano on the North side of Speedway is the only owned one by Mr. Chung Kim. Chung has been in Tucson a long time Con Tiki, Ye Old Lantern etc. The hamberger special can't be beat. It comes with fries and if you like coffee its a bottomless cup for a buck fifty. You get out of there for about six bucks and that is with fine service. I meet my morning friends almost every morning there and its wonderful. Mr. Kim is the hardest working man I've ever known and with a wonderful personality. Say hi to the gang and enjoy the food.

There's a bunch of these all over town. Good for cheap eats of your simple favorites. Standard breakfast fare. Lunch is the normal sandwiches, burgers and they offer soup as well as meatloaf.

Very good local chain. This location is on the east side on Speedway. Usually seat yourself on Sunday (only day I go) and the service is always friendly and prompt. Standard breakfast fare. Check the specials sign on the way in. Located as a separate building in a small strip mall. No real cheap meals, they have better specials at the Golf Links and Kolb location. But decent price about $20 for two person breakfast. Small outdoor seating, but it is an option.

I went to JerryBob's today to continue my test of Tucson diners for the best chicken fried steak breakfast. As usual, I ordered it with gravy on the side so the crust would not get soggy. Delivered as ordered by one of their, as usual, very friendly wait staff. So, how did this one stack up against my contenders so far, Bobo's and Chaffin's? A little disappointing, I am afraid. The steak failed on two counts: it had not been pounded out flat at all, and it was a tough cut to boot. Had it been properly pounded flat before frying, it would have been both more tender overall and much easier to cut as well. As it was, in trying to cut each tough piece off, the nice crisp coating would be entirely dislodged, making it a messy business to try to then assemble a good bite. And the gravy was mediocre, without any spice or, better yet, sausage bits cooked into it. So, here are the standings to date on the quest for my best chicken fried steak experience here: 1st place: Chaffin's, for best steak, despite a somewhat mediocre gravy. 2nd place: Bobo's, pretty good steak, and remarkably good gravy. 3rd place: JerryBob's. I hope to continue my quest soon.

Just good family friendly. Sit with Aurora, she's the best!!! Always remembers my family and our orders even though we don't come in together very often.

Our family has been coming here for years. Service is friendly and food is a great value! The hamburger special is our favorite but the breakfasts are yummy too. Love the french fries. The pancakes are delicious. Biscuits and gravy are some of the best in town. The bacon cheese omelette is chock full of bacon and real cheddar cheese. Sometimes the hash browns are a bit stale tasting. Mr. Kim is so nice and very busy. He seems to take a lot of pride in his restaurant. Aurora is our favorite waitress. We eat here at least three times a month. Highly recommend!

All Jerry Bob's are not created equally. There's one at Prince and Campbell that I will never set foot in again. But this one on Speedway is pretty good -- even the coffee! The "Huevos Garcia" is my pick: 2 eggs on green peppers & onions mixed w/hash browns + cheese. I order it without salsa or tortillas and it is fresh and crisp. The crowd sitting out front on weekend mornings is a testament to their tasty victuals. Fear not, the wait is never long, yet another testament, this time to their efficient service.

Nice cozy no-frills diner. Wait staff is friendly and fast. Everything's good, but my favorite thing is the overstuffed breakfast burrito. Best thing is the price!

There aren't many choices in a small town on a public holiday. "Jerry Bob's" was not on our original list. But rallying a bunch of musicians to do brunch at an hour early enough to coincide with public holiday, restaurant trading hours is a feat extraordinaire. So it was, completely blind, that we found ourselves standing in a place in a strip mall, way out in deep, Tucson suburbia that was reminiscent of the dining room of a government-funded nursing home that used to be a shoe shop, specializing in medical shoes at some point. Either that or a homeless soup kitchen for the not-quite, but almost homeless. But anyway, that's the vibe. I did not expect anything of this breakfast so none of this scared me. I know good food. I really do. But I also really love shit food sometimes. This was one of those some. I had a bite of a friend's waffle and seriously, that was REALLY, REALLY good. Same friend bought the "Special" breakfast of biscuits with sausage patties and gravy on top. He didn't die. Another friend ordered the French toast with bacon & scrambled eggs. This made him miserable and he muttered something about knowing better than to order eggs from such places. I ordered chicken fried steak with biscuits, gravy and eggs over-easy and my husband and another friend ordered the same but with potato hash instead of biscuits. We all thought - relatively speaking of course - ours was pretty delicious. The gravy was peppery and so good-bad, the chicken fried steak, every, absolutely awful thing that it is supposed to be. We were happy. The staff were nice, the clientele weird - there were old ladies in delightfully, inappropriately-youthful attire - the decor hilarious. If I needed chicken fried steak or waffles and was nearby, I'd totally go again. Oh and if you ever find out where or what "Boomerang Shadows" is, as asked of us by a vagrant out front of t his fine, family establishment, holler.

Strange thing to comment on, but they honestly have the best chocolate milk in town. So much better than the chocolate syrup-milk mix I made at home or what any other restaurant serves. I don't know what it is, but even as kids, my cousins and I deemed it the greatest. Take your children!
