I have had breakfast here 4 times. I don't have a gluten intolerance, but always find coming back here with my wife and 1.5 year old daughter. They have a nice sliced fruit bowl she always loves. I always get the two egg meal with potatoes and cinnamon toast. The potatoes are crunchy yet soft at the same time, just the way I like them. The best in Tucson in my opinion. The toast is different as it is gluten free, but I love it. The last two visits we were waited in by Hector "the protector". He provides great service with a smile and some funny jokes. Keeps the coffee full. He is awesome! We have not tried the baked good as of yet, but they look fantastic. They are next on the list to try!

Previously we only knew about this place as a bakery so we only had deserts here in 2014. Fast forward to 2015 & I am still in town visiting my mom in Tucson so we decided to make a trip here before I had back home to IL in a few weeks. We decide to go for dinner Saturday night. I ordered the flat iron steak with a brown reduction sauce, charred broccoli, Mediterranean salad & balsamic vinegar. Everything was wonderful, but I think $22 is a bit pricey for the size of the meal I received, for that price I would have expected 12 oz of steak, & soup to go with the meal as well. I have ordered the same type of meal back home in IL and it is usually $14.95-16.95 which includes 2 sides on the plate with a meal, & an additional side. Granted we are both aware that Gluten Free is more expensive but nothing in my meal was gluten free. My mom ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and it came with garlic bread. My mom does not eat Gluten Free, she said she did not really like the texture, and asked me to try it and see if something was wrong because I do eat Gluten Free. I tried it and the spaghetti was all stuck together and tasted like cardboard. I went up front to the register to tell the waitress that something was wrong with my mom's meal, I told her that I thought it was either over-cooked or under-cooked, she had the chef remake it and it was better, she was not crazy about the meatballs. she did like the garlic bread. She was disappointed that for $13 her meal did not come with a choice of soup or salad with it. She thought it was over priced to pay $13 for just gluten free spaghetti, meatballs & garlic bread. Before our meals the waitress brought us 2 very tiny rosemary rolls which was quite disappointing to my mom, she is used to going to restaurants where they bring enough rolls for everyone to eat before a meal. These 2 tiny rolls are not enough for 2 people, I ate the 2 tiny rolls so there was not any for my mom to even try. I would have eaten more rolls but the waitress never came back to the table to see if I or mom even wanted any more of them. I would have liked to have bought some of the focaccia rolls to take back to my mom's house before I go home, but I thought $10.50 for 4 of them was WAY OVERPRICED, this was also my same opinion for the bagels, English muffin, and small loafs of bread. I buy Gluten Free at home in IL and it is not this expensive. I treated my mom to the meal & desert to go. I can't believe I spent $11.00 for 2 GF Vegan deserts. My total meal was $54.81 which is a LOT of money for me to spend on any meals. This is what I would spend typically for 3 meals back home in IL.

The folks are friendly, the food is AMAZING! My "wheat-eater" friends enjoy the food as much as I do!

I don't have a gluten intolerance, nor am I particularly a fan of gluten free items, but I went here for brunch one day with an old friend of mine. When I walked in, it was empty and dead, so I was slightly concerned we made a bad choice... Until the food arrived. I got the breakfast sandwich and I was definitely not disappointed! It was so yummy, I forgot it was gluten free. I went back again by myself, again, slightly dead in there but the food was still killer. It makes me sad that they don't have many people in there when I've gone, hopefully it picks up at different hours. I have also invaded their pastry case... Oooh man the grand slam and carrot cake cupcakes are DELISH!

Amazing. It seems like they have gluten free everything. And it tastes incredible. Will be back for lunch. Just stopped in here to get a muffin and they have so much more. A very nice menu with lots to offer.

so, unfortunately, i have celiac and have to always to eat gluten free, so what the heck, i tried this place. well, first the good: i got a GF choco cupcake to eat on the plane, and it was tasty. now the bad: i ordered the $10.50 triple decker grilled cheese sandwich and it was dry; there was little cheese on it; it was really about the bacon and avocado. the main thing about a grilled cheese is first the MELTED cheese (not here, sparse and unmelted, omg, yuck), next some good grilled bread (dry dry dry, here, awful) and lastly extras (damn i wish I would have ordered something else). I also bought a cinnamon loaf. it, too was dry. very disappointing. Really, mexican food is GF and there are endless options in Tucson.

I don't have any dietary restrictions but drive by this place a few times a week so figured I'd try it. I won't be returning here. The service was good my server was very cheerful. I tried the fish and chips it was a small portion with three kind of greasy fish pieces, good tartar sauce and chips. I'm glad I can eat anywhere after this visit!

I would literally give the food a 10/5 stars if I could. This is my go to breakfast place when I'm in Tucson which is regularly. More important than even how lovely and high quality of the food is is the service given by Hector in the morning. He's both kind welcoming and extremely interested in making every single visit one that is memorable and makes you leave with a smile. If you think you don't like gluten free food, you will think again after attending this restaurant. It is literally my favorite place in the entire United States to get a delicious meal and the warmest service ever! I, and my little dog Karamel(who loves it here too!), can't get enough of Hector and the amazing food here.. we will be forever fans and happy patrons :)

The food and service has drastically declined. When they first opened it was great! The baked oatmeal was amazing! Now, its over cooked and dry and about the size of a cup of oatmeal for $11-12 .... Sorry girls. Wish we had the original YOU back

Just went for first time today. We told them we were eating outside. No problem. 10 min later a lady came out w water. It appeared that pulp from lemon was floating in water.... Not sure. We were told our order will b taken in a few. 10 min more and we left. The dessert in the case looked good. Bummer for service or lack thereof

One the best lunches ever. NOT JUST BEST GLUTEN FREE, BUT BEST LUNCH EVER. One of the things I miss most since going gluten free is fish and chips. The battered fish is crunchy on the inside and moist and succulent on the inside The chips are hand cut and delicious

I have a friend from Santa Barbara, California who is allergic to gluten, and I would always feel sorry for him having to ask restaurants if they have gluten-free options on their menus. He would always say "if I eat wheat, I die." I felt bad for him since he has to say that to EVERYONE as well as the fact that he would have to check all the food in a grocery store to see if they have gluten in them or not. As someone who has no allergies to any kind of food, it's hard for me to imagine anybody having to live a gluten-free life. One thing's for sure: if he ever moves to Tucson, I would definitely recommend Gourmet Girls to him! I heard about Gourmet Girls when they made appearances at community events like Sweet Charity, SAVOR Food & Wine, Viva La Local, Splash, and the Salsa & Tequila Challenge. By my count, no other restaurant has participated in as many local, charitable events as the Gourmet Girls. The fact that they support the local community in every way, shape, and form is what actually brought me here...getting to try their delicious food before stepping into their restaurant was a big factor too. You can also find them at various Farmer's Markets around town. Located on Oracle just south of Rudasill, it's a pretty small restaurant that in my opinion could use more tables and chairs. If there is no room for you to eat in the restaurant, you can always order your food to go, and they will make sure your food is nicely packed and ready to eat when you get home! They do everything from breakfast omelets to various sandwiches on gluten-free bread as well as tasty gluten-free desserts, and even if they don't know how to make a particular dish, they WILL find a way to make it just the way you want it! The employees at Gourmet Girls are awesome. There are several waitresses out there either at the front desk or in the eating area to make sure the customers are doing good. Sometimes, Mary (the chef) or Susan (the manager) will come out and get to know their customers better. Very nice and relaxing atmosphere. The only thing that is missing is a TV. I had the veggie scramble with house potatoes and an English Muffin, and wowza it was a delight! Having eaten at Mother Hubbard's Cafe before (and knowing that their food was also delish), I had a hard time deciding whose breakfast was better. Eventually, it got too hard for me to choose that I decided to call it a tie. The Muffin went great with butter, the potatoes tasted better than French Fries at any burger joint, and the veggie scramble was like a tasty omelet, but had more veggies than eggs. They also had a little dessert bar next to the front desk, and I decided to try their raspberry twinkle. NOT twinkie, a twinkle. Much more expensive than a single Hostess Twinkie, but a definite must-try! Just be careful when eating it with a fork because the frosting on top of the twinkle solidified so much that when I tried breaking the twinkle with the fork, crumbs spilled all over my small plate. Lucky I wasn't eating in the comfort of my own apartment otherwise there certainly would have been a lot of crumbs on the floor! Anyways the bottom line is this: if you are a Tucsonan who suffers from Celiac Disease, then Gourmet Girls will be your favorite restaurant of all time. Their food is beyond delish. They support the local community by participating in several charitable events around town. And did I also mention they are a Tucson Original? They might be a little pricey, but the friendly atmosphere and the fact that the waitresses and chefs make you feel at home will more than compensate for your expenses. That being said, if a Gourmet Guys opens up in the near future, can someone let me know?

My wife can't have gluten, so we gave this place a try when we were in the area visiting family. I personally was not a fan at all, and my wife just thought it was OK. Some of the desserts we had were better than others, but I didn't care for the majority of them. I also did not like the sandwich we had for lunch. The prices were on the expensive end, although gluten-free food is always more expensive. But as we didn't like the food it wasn't a good value. The place smelled kind of funny when we went, so that was weird too. We probably wouldn't come here again, but I do appreciate what they are trying to do. It is nice that gluten-free places like these exist.

This gluten free bakery bistro is wonderful. I have celiac disease and Gourmet Girls makes eating in this world more enjoyable. This establishment sells cakes, cookies, cupcakes, pies, bread, pizza, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and much more. When you take a bite out of any of their products, you will be baffled that it's gluten free. My only advice in regards to this business is to always call before you actually drive to the there. See what flavors they have, what they currently have already made, and if they can make what you want in your specific time frame. There are a few downsides to this place. The prices are a little high on some products and the selection is either a hit or a miss in finding what you want (that's why I recommend calling ahead of time). But overall, I strongly recommend Gourmet Girls Gluten Free Bakery Bistro to anyone who lives a gluten free lifestyle.

Cute little Bakery / Bistro in a small strip mall serving Gluten Free Baked Goodies and then some. My Mom as well as others I know are now only eating gluten free products. I was not aware that current medical research has found that an amazing array of symptoms and disease are linked to gluten intolerance. Hmmm? I was really impressed with the large assortment of good looking tasty treats they sell at this friendly establishment. Everything from Sandwiches, Artisan Breads, Rolls, Bagels, Buns, Pizza Crust, Muffins, Scones, Cookies, Biscotti, Pastries, Signature Cakes, Eclairs, Cream Puffs, Wedding Cakes, Birthday Cakes, Holiday Treats and more. They even serve breakfast and lunch. Came here with the Mom unit to stock up on all the things she enjoys. She was like a kid in a candy shop and picked up a little bit of everything. I have not seen her this happy about shopping for food for a long time. I tried some of the different breads and cakes that she purchased and I thought they all tasted unusually good. This is not your typical bakery. There is a lot more effort and special ingredients that are required when making these types of gluten free recipes to get them to taste similar to the traditional stuff. The prices reflect that but when you cannot eat the real McCoy this is the place to come visit. Rock and ROLL!

The food was okay but nothing special. Presentation left a lot to be desired. Our meal looked like it was thrown on the plate from a distance. I will say the people on the neighboring table got the fish and chips and that was nicely presented. My husband got the pulled pork and the meat was extremely dry. Not sure if they ran out of sauce. My biggest gripe is our server went out side to pet and play with a dog and did not wash her hands on her return. Was going to try the desserts but decided not to after seeing this.

I wish this existed closer to my house (El Paso, TX). great service, EXCELLENT food, and the bakery display is amazing. It is so nice to just order from a menu without asking 20 questions and asking for modifications. I had the cinnamon french toast and tasted my husband's skillet. I will return on another road trip for a breakfast burrito.

This is a great spot! My coworker and I came here for lunch and everything was delicious. We each had the chicken and potatoes soup and it was great! My chicken salad sandwich was amazing!! Definitely coming back.

The food is all gluten free and is always tasty. The reason I'm not giving higher review is because of the service. We've always either eaten lunch or breakfast here and as I mentioned the food is always excellent, but every time we have eaten here our waitress tests our patience. If you want to go to a restaurant in Tucson for an excellent gluten-free meal I highly recommend this place just know that you will be waiting for a long time for service and that your waitress may be even rude. You will be charged extra if you have your coffee refilled. You will wait a very long time to receive water have your order taken and to get any kind of refills whatsoever. However even knowing that I will be back because the food is very good.

Waitress staff borders on unfriendly. It took 40 minutes for two boring salads and two sandwiches. The bread is good however, but overall the experience wasn't worth the wait, attitude, price or flavors.

Aaah! Amazing GF bakery and restaurant! I had a bacon & pecan waffle w peanut butter syrup, and one would never guess it is GF. That just got me going, and I had two slices of pepperoni pizza to follow. The crust was soft, and the pepperoni generous. A nice mixed greens salad with balsamic dressing complimented the indulgence. I took some cookies to go, and they are on par for GF cookies, though I may be back for lunch and try a cheesecake or cupcake!

The food was good but the service was SO BAD I left not wanting to pass by that place ever. We felt descriminated by the red shoulder-length haired waitress. She gave us a bad attitud when requested to change the chips for fries in the Fish n Chips dish; we never got the blue berry pancakes we ordered, and she never passed by to refill our waters. Its hard to explain what we felt but its the worse service we've gotten in Arizona. We r from Florida and staying here for a few days. If ur going request not to get served by this lady.

Excellent for gluten free folks, as well as their "normal" spouses and family! This cute place has a very convenient location and would be a great meet up spot, even for gluten eaters like me! The cupcakes are a must... so delicious!

I have had desserts from the Girls many times but this was my first time eating at their restaurant. I don't eat wheat (Non-Celiac) so this place was a delight. Three of us ate lunch here and they got one of the orders wrong. Slightly annoying, but I guess it can happen anywhere. Our waitress in particular was a bit abrasive and inattentive, so that's why I'm dinging them one-star. Food was delish, it was just the service that was lacking. I would still recommend this place to others and I will visit again when I'm in their neck of the woods. I wish they would open a more centrally located or eastside venue. It's a 40 minute drive for me to visit them. Just a wish, not dinging them on this at all.

Have used Yelp for a long time to find restaurants when we travel because my son has Celiac Disease but have never written a review before. Feel completely obligated to write my first now. Sometimes you run into a situation that just works right. Gourmet Girls is THAT place in Tucson! The food is fresh, the service is attentive, and the atmosphere is completely comfortable. During your meal you ask yourself what makes this place different then you realize, it feels like you are eating at your favorite aunt's house. Maybe it's the way your greeted when you come in the door, maybe it's the music they stream in, maybe it's the fact that the food is amazing and should be eaten by people who don't even require a gluten free meal. Thanks Gourmet Girls. A++. You rock. Keep it up. You're our Tucson spot!!

  • Cindy S.

Took away one star for ambiance. It's a bit echoey in there. But the service is top notch and the menu simple with a nice variety of breakfast (all day). Don't leave without the French bread!

I still like the abstracts of this place, but now it's been many gf meals here and so here's my update. The food is consistent ,and quite yummy. The working logistics are a bit uncomfortable. There are way too many times I'm in the place for 5 or so minutes before an employee saw or spoke to me. I don't want to slam these girls because they are the pioneers. It's unfortunate the excitement of newness so quickly waned to what seems abit of drudgery. The friendliness of the owners was exciting to see, but now its rather more a feeling of anger, aggravation, and drudgery.

This place has improved a lot since first opening. The service is quick and efficient and the food is even better than before! It seems like they have fallen into a groove.

As anyone with taste buds who has eaten at a vegetarian, gluten-free or special diet restaurant can attest, if the choice is between starvation or eating that restaurant's food, one will gladly choose starvation. This is definitely not the case at Gourmet Girls Gluten Free Bakery Bistro. The food is both healthful for those on a gluten-free diet and tasty for those who are not. In the last few years, Mom has developed a severe case of gluten-intolerance and becomes ill when she eats anything with any significant amount of gluten in it. That has made if difficult for her to find decent places to dine. She wanted to do a pre-Mother's Day dinner; therefore, we made reservations for Friday, 9 May 2014, as Gourmet Girls now serves dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. We could not have been more pleased. The place was clean, and the baked goods set out on the bakery shelves added to the appeal. The two women who were working there that night could not have been friendlier or more helpful. They were both attentive and amiable throughout the evening. Mom and the other member of our party had Meatballs and Penne Pasta in Marinara Sauce with Garlic Bread. The Garlic Bread was delicious, as were the Meatballs, and I don't think anyone would have known that the pasta was gluten-free unless one were told. I had the Bacon Blue Angus Burger garnished with Shoestring Onions and served with authentic homemade Potato Chips. It was another hit, again delicious. I loved the Potato Chips. The last time that I had, had authentic, freshly-made, homestyle Potatos Chips was high in the mountains of the Dominican Republic in the town of Jarabacoa where everything was made fresh daily from scratch. Everyone else skipped desert, but I had to indulge. I chose a desert that would have done any fine-dining restaurant justice. A scoop of Lavender Ice Cream was set on top of a tart Lemon Curd that had been piled upon a baked Merengue. Surrounding it all was a delectable sauce. It was so good, and so pretty on the plate that one had to show to everyone before setting the fork to it. It was a perfect ending to the meal. We picked up some Russian Tea Cakes and Butterscotch Cookies so that Mom would have something to eat during the week, and as we left, both of the women wished her a Happy Mother's Day. That was so nice. Last, but not least, the price was quite reasonable, considering the fact the gluten-free ingredients tend to be more expensive to purchase and take more time to prepare.

I'm such a huge fan! It can be tough finding good gluten free places and I love that when I come home for a visit I can come here and stock up on some goodies. They honestly have THE BEST gf cupcakes I have EVER had. They even have dairy free options (yes!) The breakfast is divine, the cupcakes and pies heavenly and the breads and granola mix are sooo tasty. Next time I am down, I will definitely be trying out their new dinner menu. Keep up the good work!

I have to start by saying I have never been to the actual restaurant. BUT I tried their ginger snap cookies and Rosemary sea salt bread from the Rillito Farmers Market today and OMG. So delicious! The cookies are so addictive and I can't believe they are gluten free! Most gluten free cookies I've had don't have a very good texture, but this has totally changed my thinking on gluten free cookies! And that bread was by far the best gluten free bread I've had as well! Can't wait to try more:)

I really liked this place and am so glad I stumbled across it on my way to the airport. It is so nice to have your last meal as you leave to go home from vacation in a place that really hits all the high notes. I called ahead, being from out of town and spending most of my time in Tucson lost I decided to ask for directions when the navigator on my phone showed that this place is right smack in the middle of the northbound side of Oracle road (It's not). The girl on the phone pleasantly gave me excellent landmarks and I drove right to it. I ordered the Sonoran Sandwich and greens and got a cookie to go. Oh how I wish I could have one of the sandwiches right now! The salad with the vinaigrette was perfect too. I am taking one star off for the water which tasted really, REALLY fishy but hey, I didn't get sick and I had a few sips. The baked goods look great but I managed to muster some willpower and escape with just a cookie ;-)

Really and truly one of the best services ever! I had to order a cake for my boss' birthday. My boss is a frequent customer of this establishment and not only did they make me a customized cake in one day, but they also were able to tell me what my boss' favorite kinds of desserts were. The staff is fabulous and wonderful! Thank you Gourmet Girls!

So my doc told me that I am now gluten-free. Great. So I know that gluten-free items usually taste grainy and dry so I usually go without breads, muffins, cakes and such things because I hate that dusty graininess and I'd rather eat an apple or a banana than some dusty, powdery gf bakery item. I tried Gourmet Girl's chocolate chipotle cupcake and while it was not grainy, it was certainly not very chocolatey either. The girls seem to pour on the sugar, as though sweet could make up for the lack of flavor. Meh. The girls were very friendly and this place seems really popular, but I'll pass on this bakery and have a corn tortilla (plentiful in this town) or ice cream or fro-yo or dates or berries if I feel like having something for dessert. Rated 2 stars (meh) because the food really isn't "A-OK." Sorry. I wanted to like them, really I did.

So disappointed. Waited 30 minute's to order a simple lunch. Waited another 30 minute's and asked the server what was going on and was told they lost the order and had no idea when our sandwiches would be ready. Unacceptable to treat customers this way. The owner needs to be on site and manage the business. HIre a staff that knows what they are doing! Will never return.

I can't comment on the Bistro, but I do buy baked goods quite a bit when I am in Tucson running errands. Five stars for everything I have ever purchased! Although, they deserve five stars for just the chocolate twinkie alone. I love those so very much. I love their cookies, I love the brownies, I love everything. Having a GOOD gluten free hamburger bun or a cinnamon roll is fabulous. If I eat baked goods with wheat flour, I get very sick. Having a gluten free bakery like this is amazing. All the trendy people can talk about how gluten free is the way to go just to have something new to talk about, but if you can't eat gluten being able to eat a really great cookie without pain is a remarkable event. :) It's a blessing to have a bakery like this to go to for treats! Thank you for those wonderful chocolate dipped cookies and the twinkies. I love those, please keep up the good work. I will see you very soon since I am craving more. Oh, and I have only received the best, most friendly service at Gourmet Girls...how did I almost forget that?!

We discovered this place yesterday and came back again today for breakfast. Both the quiche and the French toast were excellent! What a great find for those of us on a gluten free diet, but you would never know by taste! Delicious! Tomorrow I will buy rye bread and some treats before leaving town!

I ate here several times earlier this year while at a workshop across the street. The food is excellent and healthy - a great combo! I have been meaning to give them a review ever since. I found a receipt recently and thought to finally do it. Everything I ate was tasty. It was soooo nice to be able to eat something on bread for a change. It isn't cheap but is in line with other gluten free baked goods. This is better because they have great breakfast and lunch fare.

This place opened in Tucson when I lived in Phoenix and I made sure to stopped in to see what this place was like. We didn't stay long and have a full meal but we purchased a couple of items from the counter. I appreciate any place that goes out of their way to be helpful for people with food allergies. That being said, the person that was behind the counter was not very polite. I had to call out to her twice while she stared straight ahead and she did not acknowledge me. She even helped another couple before she helped me. But, that is not why I am giving this place 3 stars instead 4 or 5. Sometimes people have bad days. It happens. One of the items I purchased was a cupcake. It wasn't cheap and I only ate one bite of it because it was so stale. I had to throw it away and I was not very happy at the price I paid for it. I have not returned since, but mostly because I lived in a different city. I would probably be willing to give it another try.

While reading through "Tucson on the Cheap", a wonderful source of what's going on in the city, someone mentioned this new bakery just opening up on Oracle. Gluten-free goodies. Sounded like something that needed to be checked out. When I arrived today it was very busy with platters of healthy veggies and bakery goodies for free set out of tables for everyone to enjoy. It's very cozy and welcoming and they have many choices of cookies, breads, and various desserts to select. It was hoppin' busy and everyone looked very excited as they perused all the delicious offerings. Here's what their business card says: "Seasonally inspired breakfast and lunch menu of soups, salads, sandwich, and artisan breads, rolls, bagels, buns, pizza crust, muffins, scones, cookies, biscotti, pastries, wedding cakes, birthday cakes, and holiday treats. INDULGE YOURSELF AGAIN." It's really wonderful to have another gluten-free eatery in town: We have Loving' Spoonfuls and Renee's Organic Pizza, two of my favorites and now The Gourmet Girls. I wish them well and tons of success in their new business endeavor.

Came here hoping for great and got below mediocre. Their service staff is grumpy and the cupcakes, while they look good, fail the taste test. Even my daughter, who loves cupcakes, took a nibble of the frosting and then said she was all done. Too bad I bought 4 of them and paid over $20. They ended up in the trash.

I'm not gluten free and the only reason I went here was because my fiance is. I was very hesitant to come, as I thought gluten free bread tastes terrible. I was very surprised! Very good food for any restaurant. The cinnamon roll French toast was amazing.

This place is awesome! Can't even tell they don't use gluten! The food is fantastic and the service was great. My only complaint is that they only have a few dairy free options, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind taking it out of a dish if you asked. Definitely try this place out!

My first time eating gourmet girl's delicious baked goods was around when they first open.. This is by far the best place to get baked goods that are gluten free. I was even happily surprised to be able to get a birthday cake.

Today is my second time to eat here. Today they have the chicken salad sandwich which I wanted the 1st time but they had sold out. I'm later today so only one eating but they have a steady stream of folks buying the bakery items. The waitress, Kelly, rembered me from before so that is cool.

The server here was very rude and disrespectful. She added incorrect additions to bill, did not bring food we asked for. Very sarcastic. I look Hispanic and do not dress like her typical customer, but still unnecessary for the holidays. But the food was vey very good! Compliments to the chef and to Amy. The red headed waitress should career change or at least keep her prejudices to her self.

My husband and I love this place! I am gluten intolerant and this is the one place in town I feel like I can get a delicious, good meal! My husband is not gluten intolerant but he even loves this place! The quesidilla is hands down my favorite, but my husband loves the pulled pork!

A hidden gem! I have celiac and this place was is a breath of fresh air. It was so nice to be able to go into a place and know that I could eat anything there. I even got to take a sample out of their cookie sample platter. Weird how you value the little things when you have to learn to avoid them. Anyway, everything is Gluten Free and if you have other allergies the kitchen is willing to make other accommodations. I had their biscuits and gravy with an omelet and the sunflower carrot bread. It was fabulous. I also brought home a lemon cupcake, brownie with nuts and a pecan bar they referred to as the celiac's "crack" because it's that good! I loved this place and if I lived in the area, I'd be a regular here for sure! I'm excited for when they start offering their stuff online. yum!

I'm not gluten free - my husband is - and I'm usually not impressed with GF foods. This was a true exception. Had the Sonoran sandwich on focaccia bread - spectacular. Everything is GF so there's none of the risk of trying to adapt and frankly it was better than many regular meals I've had. Lots of prepackaged but homemade GF items to take home as well.

Visited about a half dozen times, food is good but very expensive. Service has diminished. The server that I had, and have had a few other times, was cranky and scowling. If you don't like your job, quit! There are plenty of people who need a job, that will at least smile at the customers. I felt like I was an interruption. I understand that wheat alternative ingredients are expensive, but for me to want to kick down $15-$20 for lunch, I expect the service to be outstanding. I won't be back, there are other restaurants with affordable gluten free options and a staff that values service.

Dining trio Gary (minus mom, the third part of our trio, but she was still sleeping when we went out today - a Saturday) and I ventured to this special establishment. I've wanted to try this for a long time. They have a great story and created a safe-haven eating place for those with dietary concerns. I have done the special diet route (you name it, no sugar, gluten, vegan, dairy, etc.) at various periods in my life. So I have a good handle on gauging gluten-free foods. My take? Hands down terrific! It's a friendly place, sun streaming in for the morning, as it faces east, in a strip shopping center a bit south of Rudasill, on Oracle Rd. (west side of road). Seat yourself and choose from the little bright green menu at your table. As you look around, containers of gluten-free cookies tease you, sitting on racks on the sidelines. Other racks and the glass display in the back show off yummy dessert treats, from small cakes and cupcakes to cookies and breads and even a pizza crust base. The pricing for these treats is certainly higher than usual, but remember, they are made by hand, using special ingredients and in small quantities. This is not mass-produced food, but I am sure it is food made with love. After we ordered, Gary and I observed a nonstop stream of customers of all ages coming in. Some sat at tables for full restaurant service, while others beelined for the counter to buy French breads, cakes and other delicacies. I saw one man pick up a full-size cake, a special order. It took me a while to let down my guard about wheat. I am so used to eliminating this choice and that choice because they are made with so much bread or wheat. It was a true delight to consider EVERYTHING on the menu, because it was "safe." (I do eat occasional wheat; I minimize how much I eat of it.) I ordered a pancake sandwich - I HIGHLY recommend this: think sausage, two eggs made how you like it (I loved it over medium), sandwiched between two lovely gluten-free pancakes, served with syrup. Yum and filling! (But I succeeded in making it fully disappear!) I hear it's a newer menu choice, very popular. Hubby had an excellent omelet served with a choice of bread. The multi-grain bread was fabulous, with great texture and chewy! You don't have to be a gluten-free eater to enjoy that bread--or the food, in general! The server was very busy servicing the entire floor. She was pleasant and did a great job. I met one of the owners, who works behind the counter and was greeting customers as well. I can tell she loves her creation. I give the owners of this restaurant an A+ for being bold and creating a special niche in the world of dining and retail food. They offer breakfast and lunch. I can't wait to try a real sandwich with "safe" yummy bread on my next visit!

Great service, neat take on eating healthy! Creamed of Brussel Sprout Soup was delicious. We shared the grilled cheese sandwich. It was good, but not to die for. The cheesecake was also delicious, but the gingerbread cookie on top was excellent!

This was our first time here. I was a little skeptical about a cupcake actually being both gluten free and delicious! No worries...delicious. We loved the pomegranate cupcake!! The BEST part ...its gluten free!! We also purchased a brownie and several cookies. can't wait to try these!! Beside the wonderful treats, they do offer many choices such as sandwiches, pancakes and other items. All can be found on the little cute green menus at each table. Absolutely recommend it!

I love this place! Forget making compromises to eat gluten free - this place is an upgrade! My girlfriend and I had pancakes. They were soft, with great texture, and full of flavor. They also have great items to take home and cook with. We purchased their pizza crust and simply threw on our own toppings for a simple, quick, gluten free gourmet dish. Onto the ambience and staff. It's a cute place with basil and parsley growing outside that they'll pick right off and throw on their sandwiches. There's a large east facing window so it's a great place to have breakfast while watching and feeling the sun come up over the Catalinas. The owner just happens to be one of the nicest ladies in the whole town. She makes you feel welcome and makes an effort to get to know you. Looking forward to getting back there.

My daughter introduced my son and I to Gourmet Girls on a trip to Tucson last year. We went there everyday for the most amazing gluten free food I've ever had. My kids and I have celiac and have been gluten free for over 10 years. I've been to many restaurants that offered gluten free meals. Usually the better the meal tastes means the greater likelihood of being glutened. This unfortunately was not uncommon. This was NOT the case at Gourmet Girls. Everything my kids and myself have had has not only tasted amazing but was indeed gluten free. We go to Gourmet Girls everyday they are open on my trips to Tucson. I also take lots of baked goodies home. Thank you Gourmet Girls for your amazing food.

We went there for lunch a few days ago. I can eat bread but I prefer not to for the most part, so I was excited about the concept. Both of us ordered the grilled cheese, mine w/bacon & my wife's without. I mean if anything sounds like a sure fire thing, it's gotta be grilled cheese, avocado, tomato, & BACON, right? Wrong. I liked the texture of the bread but the sandwich was absolutely tasteless...the worst grilled cheese ever. How you can make a sandwich w/those ingredients & have it be tasteless is somewhat of a mystery. I would think it would be impossible. Plus it was $10.50 & not very big at all. They called it a "triple decker", which in this case was a euphemism for mostly bread & very little else. I figure if you can mess up a grilled cheese that bad, there is little hope for anything else, so I can't think of any reason to go back. I wouldn't even return if that sandwich was free. Unlike some other Yelpers, our service was just fine & I am REALLY picky.

The products are quite good but the person who was running the counter was a most unpleasant personality. Her depression darkened the whole place. The bread is very good however.

$$$ And no, this is not the overture to a P-Diddy video. This place is EXPENSIVE. The main dishes are, however very tasty... but you just burnt a large hole in your pocket... the amount you just put down for a salad has now left you homeless and starved for a little while. When I was there about a year ago, my friend (who isn't gluten sensitive but was kind enough to go with me and have lunch there) and I stopped by this quaint shop. She had heard some neat reviews, but the biggest thing is that its one of the first in town. Knowing I have a gluten sensitivity she suggested this place. I had a pretty tasty cup (not bowl) of soup (I believe it was a creamy carrot soup). That was about $6 and it came with gluten free bread. I was still hungry though and decided to order a burger. Burger very tasty... but that was all to it.. burger and a gluten free bun and I think maybe even lettuce and tomato.... $9. My friend had a big bowl of salad. She said it was the best salad she's tasted ... $9. I do like the extra details they put into the food. They even serve you chilled cucumber water... which was very tasty and delicious and uber refreshing. However you do find that the waiting staff to be unprofessional or even ignorant of the menus themselves or about gluten sensitivity. Their baked goods are not really yummy. I've had a banana bread, a pound cake, and some cookies. Cookies were decent, but the other stuff was over priced as well and not that flavorful. Overview... I couldn't imagine eating here once a week. Portions were small and expensive... except for the salad which was large and expensive and I don't think it came with meat. The food is yummy... but I wouldn't gamble on the baked goods. I know eating gluten free is expensive at times.. but... Since then I've found some really AWESOME gluten free cookbooks online that has recipes as tasty or better than this place. WAY cheaper too!!!! I'm not trashing the place, I find the food very decent but I still think that despite the need to make everything gluten free .. its very over priced and not completely filling. If the dishes were larger in portion or if the burger also included fries or chips or soup or salad or something... I wouldn't complain. Bakery aspect still needs help in tasting good though.

While visiting Tucson for the holidays, we found this place on yelp. Having had Celiac for 13 years, this place was an exciting find for someone who eats out very rarely. I can only rave about the food, though perhaps a little too much rosemary on the potatoes. The service was very friendly, but it seemed like only one young lady was working the floor. But she was very kind and ended up selling me a small pumpkin cream cheese Christmas cake that I ended up taking home all the way to Delaware. My family loved it. I would definitely recommend this place and go back next time I am in AZ.

Disappointing. I really wanted to like Gourmet Girls because I must eat gluten free and don't eat out frequently because I always end up with issues. I ended up with issues after eating at Gourmet Girls too. When we walked in I thought it was strange that the only thing I could smell was industrial type cleaner and dirty mop odor. Not the way to start lunch. The service was not so good. The servers (2) didn't know what the soup or quiche of the day was, the first server sent out a second server who didn't know either. I ordered the double grilled cheese which wasn't grilled but very lightly toasted. It was bland and mushy and the (very little) cheese wasn't melted. There was nothing grilled or cheesy about it. Halfway through my sandwich there was suddenly a very strong raw onion flavor but there were no onions in it and it was just that one bite. Maybe someone in the kitchen put it on a cutting board that onions had been cut on? It came with a side of fruit, which was good but there were 9 pieces of fruit in my fruit bowl. I could see the bottom of the small, shallow bowl right through it. I left feeling a little strange in my belly and within an hour had reflux issues. Throughout the rest of the day and into the next morning I had digestive problems. We tried some samples of cookies on the way out that tasted very good! If I had felt a little better I may have gotten one. The baked goods in the cases also looked delicious. I won't eat anything here again because they obviously use something (gums, maybe?) that doesn't agree with me.

Went for my father's day breakfast. Quality, clean atmosphere. Enjoyed the waffles and the Man Quiche, great tasting syrup. For a few $$$s more, we enjoyed a higher quality, healthier meal. I wish them tons of success and hope they open a location on the East Side

Really nice place, regardless of whether you are gluten-free. Came here three times in the course of one week prior to going on bike rides. Had the quiche along with good strong coffee. Also had the breakfast burrito. Food is quite good. We took out loaves of bread as well as granola bars. A really nice find and worth going a little out of our way to visit. We will definitely return on our next Tucson trip.

Was driving down Oracle and did a massive double take on a "GLUTEN FREE GRAND OPENING" sign. Did you just SEE that? Pulled a Uturn and next thing I know I'm eating a grilled cheese sandwich on tomato basil bread and a mixed greens salad.

This place is incredible! I don't have celiacs but am an athlete who has gone gluten free and love to eat here. I have had granola bars, French bread, the chicken walnut salad sandwich, blueberry pancakes, and the omelet with toast. They are all reasonably priced for being gluten free and fresh. They also all taste amazing! They people are friendly and it has great atmosphere. I would suggest this place even to gluten eaters.

I am sooooo disappointed. After having a couple of heavenly cupcakes from these ladies at the Farmer's Market, I've been dying to get out to their new bistro. I went with a good friend, who is gluten intolerant as well, but also vegan. Their website says "many vegan options available," so we figured that we were good to go. We arrived and wandered in, we looked around until we saw a sign that directed us to seat ourselves and did so. While we saw someone behind the pastry counter notice our entrance, it was several minutes before anyone came to greet us. There were paper menus on the table, though, so we were able to peruse them. There was no information on the menus about vegan options, though (and since we were especially excited about baked goods, that's where you really need to be told). When our server (who I think is one of the owners) approached, we asked about vegan options. She responded with "um... vegan? you mean... no dairy.... no eggs?" This was a troubling start. Since I had no additional dietary restrictions beyond GF, I had the French toast. It was ok, if a bit dense. My dining companion got some potatoes (rung up, ironically, as the two egg breakfast, since there were really no vegan breakfast choices), and an english muffin (the only baked good in the place that was vegan. We perused the bakery cases when we left and saw a small sign that said "vegan" with nothing on the shelf behind it). It was particularly disappointing because lots of folks who are GF have other allergies or dietary restrictions (an accompanying intolerance to dairy is extremely common), it was particularly frustrating that they had so little to share with those folks, and seemingly spotty knowledge. I have other friends with egg allergies, soy allergies, dairy allergies, (and less common, but especially inconvenient for GF eating: agave and tapioca allergies), and none of them would be able to eat here with confidence.

Since I was in the area and a friend suggested this place, I decided to try it. Upon walking in and seeing all the gluten free options I was very optimist. However, I ordered the pineapple cupcake and found that it was no that great. It was ok, but I think for the price of $5 or $6 I paid for a small cupcake was not worth it. It was way too overpriced and not that great tasting when it comes to the desserts.

Found this gem while in town. The service was tip top, everyone there was pleasant and helpful. Now, the food!! Best gluten free bread I have ever had. Extremely soft and has that airy/spongy feeling of real gluten filled goodness. I really enjoyed this place and hope to come back soon.

As a gluten free baker myself, I am always excited to try the options out there. And I was super excited that Tucson had this place, when I found it on yelp. Alas, my experience left something to be desired. I really appreciate the effort, and it's great that gluten-free eaters have an option, but removing gluten should not equal adding sugar. Eating gluten-free should make for healthier choices and foods, not just replacing sugary sweets/junk food with more junk food. We got a variety of cookies, a brownie, a peanut butter bar, and a zucchini muffin. With the exception of the muffin, everything was so sweet that my tongue hurt. Nothing grainy or overly heavy though, which can be typical for gluten-free options, but all contained dairy (which I also prefer to avoid). It's a good start.

This place was great! Hard spot to find if you weren't searching for it or from the area though. The food was amazing and something you want to savor! It was there 1 year anniversary so they had free samples which was great. Now to the prices I know it's gluten free which is rare but 5$ a cupcake or 3$ a cookie is over doing it a little bit. Over all good place!

I discovered this bakery at Sweet Charity last year, and was startled at how delicious the cupcakes were. I don't have a gluten allergy, so I think I've tried gluten-free pizza crust once, thought it was tasteless, chewy, and awful, and vowed never to eat anything gluten-free again. But then I tried these cupcakes. I don't live near the bakery, so I haven't actually eaten there since the Charity event until a couple of days ago. We tried the Elvis (banana cupcake with banana filling, peanut butter frosting, and bacon crumbles), the chocolate ganache, the s'mores, and a carrot cake cupcake. I liked the idea behind the s'mores, but the cake was a little dry and it just didn't do it for me. The chocolate ganache, the Elvis, and the carrot cake however, were delicious! You would never guess they were gluten-free. I'm really glad I don't live nearby because I'd be tempted to stop in daily for a treat.

Wow! Gluten-free food that tastes great! Homemade, fresh bakery selections from bread to cakes, and everything tastes just like it looks -- delicious! Really enjoyed the breakfast omelet -- good portion size. And a local restaurant that serves grass-fed burgers! Can't wait to go again!

Its magical to go to a place where everything that you order is gluten free! Its literally the only restaurant I've ever been to that affords me that luxury. Even more exciting is that the prices are really reasonable. BUT best of all is that the food is GREAT! I love this place.

I was referred to GG by a nurse who was prepping me for a delightful endoscopy (result: can't eat gluten!). I checked them out on Facebook and the pictures and menu looked great. Especially as I had just been told that I could never eat anything, ever again. Also, I was PMSing, and HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SURVIVE THAT WITHOUT GLUTEN? Anyway, a coworker who valued his own life took me there and I perused the menu and the baked goods case. There were fewer baked goods than I expected. I settled on a small loaf of French bread (I was amazed that it was actually soft-- plus, one of the proprietors gave me a sample and it was quite good), a baggie of dinner rolls (also soft!), a peanut butter cookie, a chocolate cupcake with a delightful amount of frosting, and a mini carrot cake cupcake. The desserts are beautifully decorated, so you don't feel deprived right off the bat. The bill was $31 or something crazy. Being gluten intolerant aint cheap. The French bread was good-- I used it to make bruschetta. I'd love to have some more to try French bread pizzas and French toast. The rolls were AMAZING. Wish I had more of them. They were all flavored and delicious. The cupcake was delicious. The peanut butter cookie was mostly peanut butter-- very dense and crumbly; not very cookie-like. But tasty, just not over-$1 tasty. Another work friend took pity on me before a work potluck (where one whole table is loaded with delicious pastries I can't even look at) and bought me a couple of peanut butter muffins. They were good, but dense, in the way that GF baked goods are. I liked the gesture more than the muffins. Most of the bistro menu items are standard gluten free options one can easily make at home, with a small GF bakery addition. For the prices, I'd rather buy the stand-alone GF item and make the eggs at home. One small complaint-- when I found GG, I left them a nice, friendly message on their Facebook wall. It was promptly deleted. GG, if you don't want people posting on your wall, please change your settings so it can't be done. When you delete my nice message, I'm offended. *UPDATE* I guess my message was on their wall, but I couldn't see it. They left me a very nice reply.

The VERY limited vegan food items are good and the service is, good to bearable depending on what kind of mood the staff is in. I'm not the smile police by any stretch of the imagination, when I refer to "bearable" service, I am speaking of attentiveness. The waitress that has served us the few times we've been here is usually not the most pleasant. She gets impatient and irritated it seems. The food is good but the portions are small enough and the price high enough that my fiance doesn't feel like it's worth it to go here but does so because he knows I like the ONE thing I can order for breakfast. There are a limited number of vegan options which is frustrating because it seems like this is the type of place that should/would offer more. The only bread item I was told was vegan for breakfast is the English muffin which I enjoyed. The only other thing I was informed could be ordered vegan for breakfast was a veggie scramble...which was very good but still, there were no other choices. The veggie scramble was potatoes, bell pepper, onions, tomato and mushrooms. They are opposed to soy here so don't expect tofu to be substituted for anything.

I have to say that I didn't really get the name...Glamour Girls doesn't appear to be too glamorous from the outside, starting with the bright green sign that lures you in while driving down Oracle Road. Nor does it appear all that glamorous on the inside...clean, cute, and cozy for sure, but not all that decked out. After having the chance to eat here a couple of times and check out the bakery selections, however, I think that I understand the reference to glamour. You see, for many of us who have gone down the gluten-free path, there are simply not that many options. We have grown used to slim pickings from most menus and venues. Glamour Girls single handedly changes this. Not only is the entire menu gluten-free, but the breads and pastries sold in the bakery are uncharacteristically healthy for gluten-free alternatives (made from refreshing and imaginative combinations of ingredients as opposed to simply substituting corn for wheat). The bakery sells everything from fresh-baked breads to cake pops, and the salads and sandwiches are wholesome and satisfying. It would be nice to see it stay open a little bit later in the day (closing every day at 3:00 pm) but Glamour Girls is paving the way for healthy, gluten-free dining in Tucson.

My friend and I went in to give this place a try. I can do wheat now and then but not too often. We ordered a breakfast to split. he ordered a coffe and we got a couple of little cupcake things. I only eat small amounts when first going to a new place to make sure they don't add anything I'll react to. But the owner (who served) was really obviously disappointed we didn't order more. This is a HUGE turn off. Turn off number two came when we sat at the table and they had regular Heinz ketchup. How healthy can the place be? The food was really good, and I didn't have any allergic reaction or anything. But I do agree that the prices were a bit steep on most things. The portions were tiny.
