Very disappointed, very disgusted. The buns on both my husband and I's burger were undercooked (mushy and doughy), fries are under seasoned, and the milkshake was underwhelming :/ maybe it's this location since I've heard rave reviews from coworkers & friends but not chansing finding out by going to another location.

Holy bananas this was a good burger. I'll admit, I was a little hesitant to stray from my long time love In 'n Out, but so glad I did! The place was sparkling clean and smelled of deliciousness, staff friendly and happy, and the fooooood.... Those fries.... Silly good!! I'm a fan!

Five Guys' quality ingredients, consistently well prepared food and friendly customer service are legendary. If you don't like this brand then there is no pleasing you. This location is run by courteous fun staff who are attentive and hard working. That's a rarity and refreshing to experience. The food is made to order, nothing pre cooked and waiting for convenience sake under a heat lamp. The fries are piping hot and the burgers are juicy. Get some 5 Guys in your life!

This was my first time trying any Five Guys. I was very impressed by them. I got a bacon cheese burger. Boy what a treat. It is the crossover burger of burgers. While it wants to be fast food the quality far surpasses that. It is not the gourmet burger you would find in fine dining but boy was it good. With all the toppings on a card it was hard to choose. It reminded me of a reverse Fuddruckers. Just like Fuddruckers you can choose anything you want on it but here they put it on for you. The fries were also great. This location was very clean and fast. The employees were friendly and offered assistance with this being my first visit. Very please with all they had to offer!

I love this place, if not just for the smell alone. That alluring aroma of burgers and fries makes my mouth water. Even if I'm in the shopping center not planning on getting a burger...sometimes, it just happens. It doesn't hurt either that their staff is always always always super friendly! And the choices of what to top your burger with are seemingly endless. Oh and those fries....don't even get me started....

Really easy place to take the family to for lunch when visiting. The staff was very nice and willing to bring us anything after we sat down, even though they don't get tipped. Overall wonderful lunch experience, but they need to get the fancy soda machine. We hyped it up after being to the ones in Phoenix, and this location doesn't have them so I felt like we broke some dreams for the kiddies.

This place never gets our order wrong and the cashiers/cooks are always so friendly towards us. They carry my favorite tea (gold peak sweet tea) and never show stress or annoyance when I ask for my cajun seasoning on the side. The burgers are always so juicy and flavorful. The fries are not always crispy like we like it but they're still good. I have made it a tradition to always add a new drawing on a note card when we go. Today I wrote with snowflakes drawn, "Why can't the weather be as 'cool' as 5guys?" Seriously, though. Great place for some big, fat burgers!

It's a fun ambiance, and the toppings you can add make it a very different burger place. Oh, and enjoy the freebie peanuts in the shell, while you wait. Gary (1/3 of our "dining trio" who is also my dear husband) and I came here hungry. The menu choices are few. We hit a quiet moment with no line, on a summer Monday at dinner time. Our young cashier was totally friendly and pleasant, and very well trained on providing us with ordering guidance. He beamed when I told him he did a super job, too! We each ordered a cheeseburger with the recommended toppings from their huge list (no extra for the toppings), and added in green peppers from the additional options list. That way, we got our salad as well as a burger in every bite. Some toppings include lettuce, pickles, tomato, grilled onions, mushrooms, green peppers, ketchup, mustard, mayo and other stuff I cannot even remember or did not opt to add to the pile of goodies slathered all over my burger. Gary also indulged in one order of fries, which we were told will more than feed the two of us. Oh, right he was! We enjoyed their EXCELLENT fries (and a real treat for us, anyway) along with a very juicy burger full of those toppings. You can eat inside (noisy but fun) or outside with umbrella shade or under the porch area, within the parking area of a shopping area. Yes, the price was a little higher, but you do get a highly customized burger with all the toppings you want at no extra cost. So eat here when you want to have those toppings and a hearty burger! We enjoyed (and actually consumed) every bite! TIP: you will not need a dessert after that, trust me! Check out the photo I hope to load here of a close up burger, with loads of toppings on it. (I am desperately trying to keep them inside--I kind of lost part of that battle--but I made sure it all ended up in my mouth, in the end!)

I liked this spot way more than I thought I would. I'm not a super huge hamburger fan but I was totally going to get one until I saw that they had a veggie sandwich. I was hoping it was like the grilled cheese from In'N'Out and it totally was. Only better! They have so many toppings you can put on whatever you order for free. I loved the hot sauce and jalapeños. I've heard good things about the french fries here and it's definitely true you get a ton. They weren't my favorite, maybe a little too thick cut for my taste, but I did like the cajun seasoning you can put on them. Sharing an order is definitely not a bad idea though. Not too pricey, I'd go again.

Delicious and no cookie-cutter flavor or service. Everyone that walks in the door is greeted, and the place has a laid-back, east-coast vibe; very clean, including the bathrooms. The menu is simple: burgers, fries, and hotdogs -- not even shakes, which is fine by me; do one thing and do it right. BTW, the normal size fries will feed 2-3 people. For those concerned, I am gluten free, and while they can't wrap the burger or hotdog (since their lettuce is chopped), they very neatly wrapped my double burger with everything in foil and I ate it with a knife and fork. All in all, a very enjoyable and tasty experience. We'll be back!!

This is the newest Five Guys in Tucson and it was PACKED!! I had a Little Cheese Burger with mushrooms, lettuce and pickles. Positive: This has to be one of the best places I have had fries at, they also have super service (everyone is so nice), the place was super busy but the service was fast, the burger was burnt a bit but that didn't detour it from being a great burger with A LOT of toppings not just 3 mushrooms and a pickles (there was so much topping that burger it was falling off!) Negative: the burger was a little over done it probably would have even been better than it already was if they didn't cook the burger so much, they have too many tables...which I could tell they did need as there was no place to sit when we walked in... but the aisle ways to the tables were so small you were bumping into every table you walked to. Middle of the Road: I dont usually have a middle of the road but I had to add that I think the place is kind of expensive. But then I think about how McDonald's and Carls Jr are charging a lot for their premium burgers and I think that this place is far better than those chains that I would be ok paying the money... so I am a bit torn with the pricing.

Better burger and fries to be had over at Silver Saddle or Brooklyns. Not really seeing the fuss...but this is Tucson after all.

I had the vegie sandwich and thought it was great. The taste is really good and it filled me up, if you aren't a meat eater and want to still be able to go with your friends when they want a good burger then this is your place!

Well the advantage to having a burger here is that your very likely to be full after the meal. I mean the fries portions are a bit much, in a good way, and having them seasoned is oh so nice, but maybe a bit spicy for some. When you walk in the place, the publicly stacked peanut oil and bags of ready to cook French Fries are just kind of an eye sore. It gives off some kind of commercial vibe to a place that is supposed to be all Mom and Pop, its quite distracting. The menu options are simple enough except that Normal Means double meat and Little means 1 patty, so that is confusing. If you order the works you get Bacon, Mushroom, and Grilled onions on your meat, AND you don't have to pay more which is cool. We got a large fry for two people to share and twice i thought we wouldn't be able to finish, but we pushed forward. There was also free range peanuts near the order line to snack on I guess but makes this place a veritable mine field for anyone with that particular allergy. The thing I disliked was that a majority of the Franchises claims to fame were outdated, unsubstantiated(10 news articles was too few for me especially since most dated from 1996- 2002 ) and just pompous. I mean the signs were every where. In the bathroom, back wall, front wall, hallway, and the claims made for their greatness were not waterproof either. "Best burger for the price guaranteed" one said this was older so im not really sure what the cost then. Where else does anyone sell a burger for 6 dollars? (don't say Carl's Jr's they don't, I will punch you in your asinine face), but i would make it a contender for this challenge... And if its more than $6 can it be a contender?, Im looking at you Zinburger.... Fresh Hand Formed Burgers- Whats the qualifications besides abiding by commercial meat standards? are they necessarily fresher or sufficiently fresh? Can't tell but my tongue says sufficiently, and what makes hand pressed better? Do i taste the sincere-ness of the meat handler? NO, so its a moot point to be making. Im just disappointed that the taste wasn't as great as the marketing campaign. Burger with the works- 7/10 Fries (Seasoned)- 8 /10 Price with Drink - $ 9 Atmosphere 5/10 Average, Not Failing. if you understand scales the way i do. ( I don't like getting a preview of the supply room, put those bags somewhere else, and the peanuts leave em at the dive bars) The price is what drags down my overall score for the place, otherwise i would have said 3 stars Its fine for the experience, and if i pass by maybe ill stop in but I'm just not impressed.

Great fries and alright burgers, but very noisy so it is difficult to converse with the people at your table.

The first review was for the Campbell Ave. Five Guys and it was a good one. However, on a recent visit to Five Guys on Oracle it was not the same. Fries were greasy, burgers gave me a stomach ache. By the way, this never happens, I have a stomach made of cast iron. Once I get burned, I am finished. Sorry guys, I hate doing this. Maybe it was an off night. But they are off my list for now.

I don't know what the hype is about this place. There burgers are average and In N Out burgers are 100% better. With that said, they do have one good item. Their hot dogs are pretty good. I usually order a hot dog with grilled onions, mushroom, cheese, and ketchup. Would love Jalapenos on it, but they only use fresh jalapenos here. yukkie

Don't get it. Not a fan. Guess it could be the East vs. West mentality. Five Guys vs. In-n-Out. Honestly I MUCH prefer In-n-Out. First of all I didn't even know what to do when I walked in. What's with all the boxes of peanuts. Follow the peanuts and get to your food? Whatever. Then I get to the menu and was dumbfounded as to what to do and then of course was quickly accosted by the Five Guys employee that can spit out her memorized paragraph of instruction in less than 20 seconds. The food was average. Not impressed with the flavor of my burger that fell apart before I could finish it. Really didn't like the bun. I did like the fries but I'm SO glad I only had a few after looking at the calorie and fat content. Sorry Five Guys but I'm sticking with my In-n-Out. Their fries are much better and their burgers don't fall apart. Ok yes they do, but their wrapped tightly to help keep it all together...and much yummier. NOTE: I had to laugh at all the signs they post around the place of their "Top Review" or "Best Burger" articles in all sorts of newspapers across the country, none of them are past 2008 or 9. I think. Maybe there's a reason for that.

This place is kind of a tweener to me. It's not fast food like In-N-Out and it's not really inexpensive either which could have also put it in the fast food category for me. I'd have to say the competition for this place is Fuddruckers more than In-N-Out and I totally prefer Fuddruckers. I'm not a person who really cares for fries unless they are great (I prefer homestyle fries) the only reason I had any fries here was because my cousin ordered some so I tasted them. The fries were not anything special. The burger is super messy but I did like the toppings. It wasn't a bad burger but for the price I'd much rather go to Fuddruckers and get way more meat. I guess it's worth trying just to say you've had it but honestly it's forgettable food. Had I not just seen someone trash the place via review I probably wouldn't have bothered to write a review of my own, haha.

My daughter has celiac, i.e. she has an auto immune disorder which makes it very hard to eat out. The manager there was knowledgeable, and knew how to avoid cross contamination. He flagged the order, gave special instructions, changed his gloves before handing our food so that no wheat from the buns got onto our order. Not only were the burgers and fries fantastic but I could relax, knowing that my daughter's health was not at risk. This will be my place to go to get burgers in tucson.

I have eaten from this location 5 times now, each time ordering online and picking the food up to bring home. Everytime I arrive, the line is huge, and I get to walk straight up to the front to pick up my food - bonus. You can see the assembly-line type of work that goes on in the kitchen, each burger being taken care of individually. My family and I always order completely different types of burgers from one another, each one a "specialty". They have yet to get any of them incorrect. The fries are okay, but I'm judging on when I eat them after I get home. I'm sure they're much better right after receiving them. Overall, a great place to get a good burger. Way on top of any other "fast food" type of chain, in my opinion. However, they do get kind of pricey. Keep in mind, though, that a large fry can easily feed 2-3 people. Their burgers are actually double burgers, and their "little" burgers are actually normal single patty burgers.

Heard a lot people talk about "Five Guys" so I wanted to check it out and see what all the fuss was about. Not bad, especially for someone who doesn't really care for burgers that much. I had a Jr. Burger with everything plus jalapeno. The burger was tender and juicy. I tried both the regular fries and cajun fries, personally, I prefer their regular fries. The service was friendly and quick. Place was clean.

Love these burgers! For the longest time, I've always been a big fan of In-n-Out burgers, having come from California. But these burgers offer something pretty different to the one-style-fits-all kind of mentality In-n-Out burgers have. There's so many options to choose from to put on your burger, and they're all free additions! I ordered a regular cheeseburger that comes with 2 patties and put in lettuce, tomato, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions and mayo. But there's a wide variety of other options to choose from, and the cashier mentioned pretty much everything can be grilled if requested. I'm picky about my meat since I want everything well-done, no red. So I was pleasantly surprised to find that all their orders are well-done. My vegetarian wife was also pleased to find that you can order a burger filled with different veggies without the hamburger. And we ordered a small order of fries just to try them out. The burgers come wrapped in foil to help hold the burger together as you're eating it since they most likely will fall apart. But the burgers are all created exceptionally well with hand-molded patties and lots of toppings. The fries are also very generously given and often overflow 30-50% of the cup ordered into the bag. I'll always be a big fan of In-n-Out, with their really fresh ingredients and great fries. But now when it comes time for lunch or dinner, the taste of these burgers and fries may have me going back for more!

It's not the fastest fast food but it sure is good. Fresh toppings on the burgers make all the difference. The fries well they are the best of any burger joint around. I like them with the cajun seasoning.

I'm thrilled to have a 5 Guys in my neighborhood! Since the first one opened in Tucson last year we've been driving half way across town when we wanted some of their burger & fries goodness! Now, it's just a quick run down the block! The food at 5 Guys can't be beat. The burgers are fantastic and done to perfection while the fries are simply heavenly. I love french fries and am quite a connoisseur and 5 Guys has about the best out there. They're just greasy enough without being too greasy. They're fresh and hot and the cajun fries with special seasoning are great! You also get more than enough. I can eat a lot of fries in a sitting and it's rare that I can finish what they give you at 5 guys. We learned to order ahead when we were going to the one across town because it was always so busy. However, our local location doesn't seem to be as inundated most of the time. I've walked in, placed my order, and been out in less than 5 minutes! This is THE place for burgers and fries.

Agree, the hamburgers are 5 star fantastic. Flavor is different than In N Out, more similar to a backyard burger like Carls Jr or McD's Angus burgers. 5 Guys is probably a step above those options as far as quality of ingredients. Surprisingly, I found the fries (the plain, non-seasoned ones) to be terrible with a raw potato taste, but perhaps I just happened to receive an undercooked batch so I won't take a star down for that. Hated to throw away such a large bag of food. However, they do lose a star with me because the air inside the restaurant is just saturated with peanut oil. With my peanut allergic child, I feel very uncomfortable about being around them again if I haven't first taken a shower and changed after eating at 5 Guys. Don't have those concerns with Chick-fil-A.

Simple, fast, delicious! Cooked perfectly! In today's glut of burger joints if your just looking for a quick carryout this one ranks near the top. The service was great and I enjoyed free peanuts and a complimentary bottle of water while i watched the production line cook and construct my burger. I was out the door and on my way in a short time.

I really enjoyed the 5 Guys Cheese Burger, it was cooked perfectly, with great flavor and the french fries were crispy and not too greasy. Not a place I will frequent often because I shudder at what the calorie count must be, but for those occasions when nothing but a fast, fresh, big and delicious burger will do, it's a place I will revisit.

I would say this is now in my top 3 burger places. I am an In N Out fan but this has a different taste (and way higher calorie count). Enjoyable, but not something I'd let myself eat on a regular basis!

Awesome experience all the way around. I had never been here before so the cashier explained the menu and I ordered a bacon cheese burger and fries. I should have ordered a small burger because it was huge. I actually shared the fries with a friend and neither of us finished them. If burger and fries is what your craving this place is it.

I am from Washington DC where this place started out. It was the go to place when you had a hangover. Awesome juicy burgers. Peanuts while you wait. Fires cooked in peanut oil. Friendly staff. If you are going to have a fast burger why not make it a good one. Give this place a try I think you will not be disappointed.

  • Josh A.

This review is solely based on it up against other fast food options. It wouldn't get 2 stars against a real restaurant with real burgers. First off I ordered a burger (all the way) reg fries and reg drink. The cost was $11. I am sorry but unless you are giving me a 1/2 pound burger made to order from some guys hands and cooked to whatever temp I want don't you dare charge that much, that's just ridiculous. To be fair it is a ton of fries, even the small. To be unfair offer less fries for less money not everyone is sharing with somebody else every time they grab a quick burger. The fries on whole were actually pretty good. I am not a big french fry eater but these were definitely on top of their game. I just think it's too many fries and too much money. Also I don't care for fries in a cup, I worked at a place as a kid that did that and the bottom fries always ended up soggy. On to the burger. where to start my journey of disappointment. Well I guess I will start at the most important part, the meat; Not cooked to order for that money to me is inexcusable, that being said I knew what I was getting in to. There was little to no flavor. It tasted like a chink of beef pressed into a patty form and shoved on a hot piece of metal, and that was about it. No seasoning and the consistency that the meat was trying to fall apart like an overcooked meatloaf in my hands. The toppings (they are free but don't bother) I got this burger "All the way" which is the usual condiments a chunk of water lettuce and some grilled onions (which apparently are also are afraid of seasoning) and lastly "grilled" mushrooms which as far as I could tell were opened up from the can and placed in a warmer until needed. I didn't get cheese or bacon because I figured 11 bucks was already enough money for fast food lunch, maybe I should have forked out 13 bucks and at least had flavor from someone else doing work like the people who make bacon and cheese, since this place is scared of it. Yeah if I want fast food I will just go somewhere else. If I want counter service I will go local like Monkey Burger, or Zinburger and get flavor for the same price. If I want a good sit down burger I will go someplace like Bumsteads which by the way is way more meat and way better for about the same price as 5 Guys, Monkey Burger is cheaper but less meat but they cook to order and taste way better, and Zinburger is a bit more expensive but way better. Sorry 5 guys I think you should be run out of town, we already have way better burgers for about the same price from local restaurant owners. Better food, better people, they will get my money.
