I was hungry and felt like a sandwich for my road trip home earlier today... So, I did what I'm assuming most people do in this situation and searched Yelp on my mobile phone for nearby sandwich shops. I came upon this Eegee's listing, so decided to try it. I hadn't heard of Eegee's before but after some quick research, I saw that it's local to Tucson and they had some decent sounding menu items. My Yelp directions got me there within minutes... I walked in to find that Eegee's has a very chain-like feel to it; not the mom and pop shop I was hoping for. But I don't judge a book by it's cover... I still had high hopes for the food. I looked at the menu and ordered an 8" Turkey Sub on wheat. The folks behind the counter were not rude, but they weren't that friendly either... strike 2. I wasn't asked what I wanted or didn't want on my sandwich, and I was okay with that, but when I went to bite in, I was not pleased to see that the mayo was piled on high and there was literally one tiny slice of tomato on my entire sandwich. The sandwich was ready within minutes though, so there's that. Perhaps I should have tried one of the eegee's frozen drinks to go with it, but I didn't. I see their tagline is "life is better with eegee's," but I beg to differ. I won't be rushing back.

**UPDATE** 12-18-2013 I got an message from Eegee's customer service. She showed concern, and said she would look into if the staff at this location is following proper procedures in making the food. (In my origional review on 12-15-2013, I had talked about the food being off at this location. Bland sandwiches, and the meatball sub was served luke warm, not hot. It also barely had any marinara sauce.) I have changed the rating from 2 Stars to 3 Stars since she showed concern. I will change it again perhaps when I make it back to that location and try the food again. :)

I absolutely love Eegee's.. but, I was a little disappointed today. The quality of the food, which is usually perfect, was sub par. I let this go because I don't like to complain unnecassarily. However, when I glanced at my receipt, mid-meal, I noticed I was overcharged. I brought it up to the register & they asked to see the sandwich. As I didn't have the 5 inches of sub in question, the rude little cashier remarks, "Well.. sorry." Everyone is entitled to have a bad day, but come on. You're Eegee's. You're a Tucson favorite. Don't be dicks.

Supposedly a Tucson chain restaurant that resembles subway or charley's. Big disappointment. This place was nothing special and the taste was so bland. I ordered a BLT and maybe that was why it tasted so boring. It was like somebody slopped everything together and threw some mayo on it. No special sauce or anything that makes it stand out or taste any better than other places. Maybe if I tried something different or actually knew what this place's better options are then I could have enjoyed it. Very good price though and it is affordable, but I'd rather eat somewhere else.

This is one of the most amazing things about Tucson !!!! Eegees are extremely delicious and I could have one every day. They the best French fries in town and their ranch is one of a kind. The sandwichs are good but not the reason I love this place. Eegees will forever hold a special place in my heart . Only in Tucson !!

If it was just based on the slush, I'd give them 4 stars. Great frozen concoction that has wonderful fruit flavor. The restaurant was clean, so that was nice. The service was spotty, but what can you expect from a bunch of young teens? They were nice, but it was hard keeping their attention long enough to finish the order. Sort of like trying to herd cats. I got a meatball sub that was fine. Nothing amazing, but not horrible either. I'd probably eat it again if I was as hungry as I was by the time I got it. My sister got a chicken salad sandwich that she seemed to really enjoy. Mom was with us and she was not pleased at all. Overall, this wasn't a bad place to visit, but with better service and a bit more seasoning to the food I'd be able to give it 3.5 stars. If you feel like a nice refreshing slush, give this place a try.

Best locally owned sub shop in town. Fries are outstanding. Love the frozen fruit drinks and its great to show up at least once a month to hit up the favor of the month. Sandwiches are made fresh with good ingredients.

Nothing beats the "Original Grinder"! If I want a sandwich this is the first place I think of to go. Plus, the shushes are awesome!

Wife: Let's go down to Tucson to visit my nana Me: Hell no Wife: Why do you hate my family? Me: Who said that? Wife: You never get excited to go! Me: Thats because everytime I go to Tucson you make me eat at some dive place that only people from Tucson think is good. Wife: I love Eegees and wish there was one in Phoenix Me: Do you think they could import such devine food to our city? Went to Tucson with the wife. Yes, went to Eegees. Tried something different. Chili fries and a meatball sub with a fizz. Chili fries were those krinkly cut preschool frozen type, chili tasted worse than out of a can, cheese on bottom of chili WTH? Meatball sub was worse than Subway (this is why they are only in Tucson), fizz was some kind of strawberry concoction with some soda sprinkled on top. Couldnt finish anything and was glad it was over. Wife: Oooh...Oasis! Me: Ahh man...

I've recently moved to Tucson and went to Eegees for the first time yesterday. The service was outstanding, and among the best ive received anywhere - and I'm not exaggerating. As soon as I walked in, I had 3 different employees saying hello to me. I'm not sure if that's normal at Eegee's, but it was nice. Then, when I too the young man working that it was my first visit to Eegee's, he gave me a little overview of the company, their specialties, and how they have 3 main flavors and a flavor of the month. I ordered a Eegee's, and it was really good, but that kind of service will keep me coming back!

Sandwiches and slushies - which are called Eegees? We must have looked like complete dorks standing their at the cashiers asking all kinds of questions regarding ordering an eegee. They are everywhere in Tuscon so we stuck out like a sore thumb as visitors. The slush was alright...I honestly would have preferred a slurpee from 7-11.

"What is Eegee's" my mom asks. It's hopeless...it's like trying to describe a real Philly Cheese n Steak to the native west coaster...who thinks philly is just a flavor of hot pockets -_- but Eegees, yes, took a trip to Tucson and noticed there were more there than McDonalds! Passed like 20 before just going in and getting something. Why not, there aren't any in PHX...and if there is, someone please show me! I never had something so good. not a meat eater, but the sadwiches with meat even looked good. I felt great standing in front of a board looking at sandwiches I'd never heard of. It was like the holy grail of subs. They even offered up heart attack style cheese fries, and pizza fries. Pizza fries basically being pizza, but fries instead of crust. Eegee's isn't trying to be Subway or Quizno's ...its find how it is. Not like Subway, why for some reason feels the need to toast their sandwhiches. It was more like nuking it! Then the bread ends up toastier than a crouton...and who eats giant croutons with meat in between. My mind is so off...I want more Eegees, and because I'm craving it I give it 4 stars. Also because it was damn good. Wish I had known before hitting the road back to Phx...past the last one just a few miles out of Tucson...and I'd drive 2 hours back to get another one. Drinks were good...like diabetes in a slush form. I can't ramble anymore, but if you see one on your way to anywhere, stop in..you'll feel like a food virgin again. It's okay...pop that eegee's cherry.

Great sandwiches and the drinks are unstoppable! A must when in Tucson visiting... And their fries are some of the best in town. I always get strawberry eegee's with my food!

Ranch fries are good, sandwiches are ok. Drinks are off brands. (I hate that) They must not pay much because someone is always trying to figure out how to work the register and it takes forever to get a simple sandwich. Nothing exciting here - but the food's not bad.

We stopped coming here a while ago because the service had really declined. However, they appear to be under new management. Restaurant is always clean and food is fast, service is friendly again! /cheer. Eegge's I've missed you!

Eegee's is the shit. Locally owned and operated, mostly healthy fast food. The fries are crinkle-cut and delicious, but the shining stars here are the slushies. The classic flavors are pina colada, lemon and strawberry, with a 4th rotating flavor of the month that is always pretty good, too. You can make a killer cryogenic Arnold Palmer by ordering a lemon teagees, but what I like to do is have them put multiple flavors in the same cup, so you can try 'em all. You simply cannot visit or pass through Tucson and not stop for an Eegee's.

Ha! this place is a classic Tucson original. T-Locs (Tucson Locals) are so proud of this place-- it truly is unique to Tucson. If you are in town visiting, I recommend giving it a try, you know, instead of Subway or other fast food. The sandwiches are above average and priced just right. Meals are quick, efficient, and satisfying. Eegee slushes really aren't anything special-- the same thing is offered at 7-11 or Circle K.

Yes, I love that this is a local business. But that's pretty much all I love about Eegees. I really wanted to like this place but the sandwiches are so blah. I found nothing special about the meats, bread, or seasonings used. Subway is better and cheaper. The fries tasted like those you can find in the supermarket freezer aisle. I liked their frozen drinks though. I got the pina colada; I think I will be back for those when the weather hits over 100 here.

My son and I stopped in to grab dinner. I was happy to find something I could eat in my diet. Low in calories and fat. Also treated ourselves roam eegee. Mango was the flavor of the month. It was really good.
