Standard Chipotle freshness, the food is always delicious. However the service is usually sub-par in comparison to the one on Campbell (probably because they deal with so many students), there is always a line, although that is to be expected. My main concern with this particular location is that often when I visit they are completely out of certain ingredients. Last time I was in, it was sour cream and guac. I have resorted to going to the one on Campbell unless I am on campus and in need of a filling and fresh meal.

This is my favorite chipotle in Tucson. Their meat is always seasoned perfectly and everything else is delicious!

So, usually I like to eat at locally owned and operated restaurants, especially when it involves Mexican food (this is, after all, Tucson and you can get some seriously authentic burritos in town). But, I gotta say, Chipotle makes a pretty good burrito and because of this, when I'm on campus and needing a meal, I will often wander that way. I like the steak option, with pinto beans, brown rice, cheese, and extra pico de gallo. Just know before you go -- there is almost always a line so expect a short wait. In addition to the food, I like that Chipotle is built on a business model that values sustainability (Chipotle has trademarked the phrase "food with integrity") - this basically means that they source local products as much as they can. I totally dig that commitment!

My family wanted something simple and easy for dinner so we decided on Chipotle. Any place that has online ordering is always a plus and their site is very user friendly. When my husband got back with the order nothing was right. The steak salad was supposed to have the salsas on the side and they were dumped on the salad. There was also no dressing at all, either on the salad or side. My carnitas tacos had the rice & beans on them instead of on the side. One of my daughter's meals was left out completely and the other again had rice & beans in it instead of on the side. Chipotle was heading for a 1 or 2 star review until my husband spoke to the store. Rico and Josh handled the problem flawlessly. My husband was apologized to more than once, our next 2 meals were comped and our current order remade. That is some of the most fantastic customer service we have ever seen. They have definitely kept us as Chipotle customers. BTW our order, when remade, was delicious!

Rude service. No one paid attention to me- and I stood there with no line with employees passing by. They all were too busy to help. Not nice

I'm going through and doing my Yelp due diligence, so it would be wrong of me to neglect the place I went to most often in Tucson while in school there. I love Chipotle so much, and this location is dear to me because it was a block from my apartment and I enjoyed many a burrito there.

Great food but I think the price can be a bit cheaper. Very filling! Thank you!

I love Chipotle. I always get a burrito bowl with a tortilla on the side, and it's always delicious and piping hot when I receive my food. The chicken is moist, the veggies fresh, the beans deliciously spiced. The employees are friendly and willing to serve. This location is clean and close to the residence halls on campus. I spend $8 to get a burrito bowl that will feed me for two meals, which is always a plus. Really, you just can't go wrong with these guys. I've never had a Chipotle experience I didn't enjoy. Now, this Chipotle does get kind of busy sometimes, so if you're in a hurry during the lunch rush, the line may go out the door. That's my only complaint, but Chipotle's so awesome that it sometimes just can't be helped.

    (5)
  • Leslie O.

This place is always busy so the food is always fresh, and always good. The employees are okay except for this jerk of a guy that has the biggest attitude. He's always working, and he is rude to others including customers. That guy needs to go.

The Chipotle on University Drive is not up to snuff. I'm an avid Chipotle consumer and this Chipotle pales in comparison to the others that I've been to. The servers always seem to be distracted and sometimes impolite. Also, on multiple occasions I've had my burrito folded extremely sloppily. One time my burrito even ripped and my server didn't offer to rewrap it or double wrap it. They are also constantly out of certain ingredients including rice and lettuce. Unfortunately, due to the convenient location next to the University and the popularity of Chipotle this location is always packed. This may explain the subpar quality of the service. There is no incentive to improve quality as they will always have customers no matter what.

  • Rachel P.

Started out well. Really nice girl on the line. Went downhill from there. The other people on the line are in such a hurry, they don't listen well. Got way too much toppings and salsa. They were out of lettuce and said a 7 minute wait. They were not busy when I walked in. Worst chipotle I've been to and I've been to many!

    (1)
  • Maurice N.

I was not impressed. The brown rice was crunchy and the server gave me oddly small portions. Also, the chicken seem to be unusually fatty. I am usually very pleased with any chipotle I visit almost anywhere in the country but tonight's visit to the campus location was quite disappointing.

  • Melissa J.

This Chipotle is pretty impressive. It's basically always busy but they are always moving the line along at a good pace. It's Chipotle so it's like every other Chipotle out there. And by that I mean delicious. I love the burrito bowls. I love their Coke Zero (it's different I swear). I love those salty lime tasting chips. I love the decorations. And at this one I love sitting at the patio. So so much to love.

This particular chipotle is quite subpar but the location is convenient so there always seems to be a line. I loved chipotle so much before the quality in this establishment dropped significantly. The corn salsa is sometimes hard or even frozen. The servers are a bit stingy on the amount of items put into the bowl and the rice is a lot mushier than those of other chipotle locations. I assume that due to the rush the quality may be slightly worse but that should not be an excuse. The taste is still consistent enough for me to come back from time to time as well as the convenience of the online ordering and delivery system, but otherwise this location should hire new staff or retrain the staff to inspect the food more carefully as well as handle the long lines more efficiently.

There is no other restaurant like Chipolte. It is quick, fresh, and can be healthy. Great for when you are very hungry and when you are in a hurry. Perfect for those who wish to gain muscle. I think it took me a total of 1.5 minutes to get in and out the last time I went here. I almost forgot... it is DELICIOUS :D

Imagine you are famished after a long walk and short on time, like I was on Tuesday. With a deadline for an article looming over my head, I could not think clearly. I asked my husband for veggie bowl. He wasn't happy with the idea. Long queues are a definite no-no for him. Ten minutes later as he walked with the bowl I thought it was salad at its best. It was a bite of lettuce, corn, beans and cheese. It was pure heavenly gastronomical delight.

  • Thomas G.

It's chipotle people! Their food is consistently good, the only issue I had was trying to order online, the website would not allow me to do it on my phone or on my computer. But hey, problem solved, my belly's full and I'm happy!

    (5)
  • Felipe M.

Chipotle is Bae. However, the long lines for this place is ridiculous! I have seen more efficient staff in other chipotle's, and they are so stingy with their guacamole. But chipotle is bae. So there really isn't much else to say, whatever qualms I have with this place will deter me little from getting a dank burrito.

Disclaimer: I re-downloaded the Yelp app just to make this review. What can I say? Chipotle has always been there for me. It's what I ate upon completion of my driver's test and it's the first place I went after I lost my virginity. It's the meal of champions, usually. The other day I went in with a friend and after waiting in line for 30 minutes we finally reached the front. They proceeded to take another 20 minutes to make my quesoritto (not an exaggeration) which, when they finally finished, looked like it belonged in a museum for abstract displays of hot garbage (I'll attach the unedited pic). That was the last straw for me, this was the 6th horrible experience I had at this location in a row. I swore to never step foot in that Chiptole again. Fast forward 48hrs later, it's leg day and I'm killin it over on the assisted squat rack. After doing my 12th set of 300 I fall to one knee in exhaustion. Suddenly, a drop of sweat falls from my perfectly, naturally crafted brow and falls on to my ripped forearm. I watch as the sweat drips down my arm and down to my wrist where it stops on my bracelet that reads "WWJD" - what would Jesus do. I stop and think for a second. "Everyone deserves forgiveness" I whisper to myself in between deep exhalations. I quickly standup, ripping the squat rack from its bolted position and walk past the crowd of people clapping and chanting my name. I run 2 miles to Chipotle in 6 minutes flat. There's no line - a good sign. I walk up and order a quesoritto from the incompetent looking NERD behind the counter. To my surprise he moves with much haste and completes the first 3 steps. As I move down the line I approach the final step - the roller. This is where things usually gets messy. The guy behind the counter stares at my stacked quesoritto then slowly looks up at me and winks. "He's got this" I think to myself. "I got this" he slowly mouths to me. "Why are you whispering?" I ask him. *Silence*... Then all of the sudden he holds up a perfectly wrapped burrito. Tears of joy start to slowly fall from my eyes. I turn to pay for my meal but wait, something's wrong, the girl behind the counter is stammering to the customer in front of her and pacing in between orations of gibberish. Fast forward 20 minutes later: I haven't moved. Apparently the girl behind the counter messed up the order of the guy in front of me and had no idea how to fix it. My quesoritto was now cold, like my heart. I try to cast a patronus spell to fix the situation but it fails. I quickly rip of my WWJD bracelet and Mapquest directions to the nearest church of Scientology. Thanks Chipotle, you have officially made me lose faith in my lord and savior as well as question my existence. -Stop leaving only one person on the service line during rush hours -Teach your employees how to make quesorittos without having anxiety attacks -Chose management that doesn't freak out and yell at customers when they have special requests.

I am never eating here again! Now, don't get me wrong... For casual dining, Chipotle is hard to beat: generous portions, fair prices, healthy and natural flavors. Their cilantro-lime rice is a thing of beauty, never mushy like when I would make it for Cassie (man, did she let me have it when I messed up dinner!). I guess I should clarify: I'm never going to this location again. Now, again, don't get me wrong... This Chipotle is clean, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is great, and the location is killer. Just Cassie and I used to go here every Wednesday, and once she broke up with me, she would still come here every Wednesday with a different guy--I think it was to make me jealous. As I'd stare at her while I ate my incredibly filling chicken burrito bowl, I'd lose my appetite just thinking about her. So I'll still go to Chipotle, because for the price, you'll never find a better bag of chips, perfectly seared chicken and fresh vegetables. Just not this Chipotle, because Cassie seems to eat here with more guys than there are different possible combinations of toppings.

Ah chipotle, not authentic by tucson standards but when u need a heapin' helpin' of good quality food this is it. My usual creation, burro, both kinds of beans, grilled chicken, rice, hot an mild salsa, some lettuce just because and if i'm feeling rich I'll shell out extra for the guacamole. Not feeling quite up to a 1+lb burro? Try the burrito bowl. All the fixin's no tortilla (and generally a little less food.) Lunch break in-between classes don't forget to grab a beer! Makes that long lecture that much more tolerable.

Chipotle is just one of those places that just does everything right. Starting with their philosophy, they use quality, fresh ingredients, free range meats, and prepare everything on site. You can really tell the difference. I also like that they are very socially conscious, they pay attention to waste and they give to good causes Onto the food, they keep it simple and good. You have just a few main choices, but seemingly endless combinations! Light meal, go for a salad. Hungry but not starving, have some tacos. Dying of hunger, mow down on a burrito. I also like that they serve beer at chipotle. Nice to get quick food and a cerveza on the fly! They have white and brown rice, black and pinto beans, a whole bunch of different salsa's, sauteed onions and peppers, and on and on... And I love that they offer chipotle Tabasco as a condiment. In my experiences the restaurant has always been squeaky clean and the staff is friendly and efficient, even when they are slammed! You can tell they actually take pride in their job and love where they work. And of course my secret trick... After they have put all the ingredients in your burrito and before they close it, ask them to "twirl it". They take a fork and mix up all the ingredients for you so you get better balance out of each bite!

  • Allie D.

I can't get enough of this place! Vegan friendly, sweet staff for the most part, and always the most bang for your buck! I love this location and I hate the lines that being next to the university comes with, but it's always worth it! Best noms!

Chipotle is awesome, the food is great no matter what location you're at and the service is always quick since they serve it up cafeteria style. I love this Chipotle location because you get to eat in a cool laid back college atmosphere. I've been going to this Chipotle for four years and not once have I ever had a problem. Whether it's a burrito or a burrito bowl they do a great job of preparing you're food. FYI: If you get a burrito bowl you can also get a tortilla with it for FREE!!

My experience with Chipotle is usually pretty good because they only use naturally raised meat and fresh ingredients, but this one on University Blvd really disappointed me. We went there around dinner time and got a chicken burrito and a side salsa with chips. The salsa and chips are REALLY salty. Actually there were tons of coarse salt in the bottom of the chip bag. The chicken burrito didn't taste fresh at all. The tortilla was really chewy and didn't taste like it was freshly made (probably from several days ago). I normally would recommend Chipotle to anyone but I can't for this one. BTW, McDonald's does not own Chipotle anymore. According to Wikipedia, "McDonald's sold their entire stake in Chipotle several years ago and full divestment was completed in October 2006."

Service is terrible at this location. Servers are more concerned with rushing you down the line than listening to what you what. I had to repeat everything twice, or point to it. I ordered a carnitas burrito bowl...barely any meat was put in my bowl, but I did have a lovely bay leaf that I had to ask to have removed 3 times. I asked for just a little of the green salsa bit before I could finish speaking I have a full over flowing scoop in my bowl. Same thing with the sour cream. There's enough for another bowl in here. The girl preparing it had her head tuened looking down the line instead of at what was in front of her. It's a Sunday too, so it's not like they had the usual influx of students in line. I would've said something there but honestly they were in such a hurrry to get me out and not listening as is I didn't really have a chance. So I guess I'll just drink my $9 spicy sour cream bowl....

You can never go wrong with Chipotle [: I came to this location last night with my housemates and some friends and it was packed! This is definitely the place to hang out at, university ave. not chipotle, on the weekends if you're a college student. Parking is free in the structure on weekends so that was a plus because street parking is hard to find on these busy nights. I ordered the burrito bowl, my friends got the carnitas, chicken, and steak burritos, and chicken tacos as well. Everyone was satisfied with their order and the only complaint is how expensive that are.. They nickel and dime you for everything! If you want guacamole you have to pay an additional $1.80 for a lousy scoop of green mush.. I am not able to have mexican food without guac so I just gave in and paid the fee.. I will of course return to chipotle but probably not this location because it's in such a busy area.

Feels like Chipotle's standards are going down. I used to love it but now it just taste bland. Maybe the protein I get isn't as marinated as before I don't know. One things that irritates my appetite is that since I get the burrito without beans they don't put the right ratio of the ingredients and the flavors don't blend well. This is probably why so many customers I see get bowls so they can themselves try to put the best flavor combination on their spoon each bite. Quitting Chipotle like a bad habit...

I absolutely love Chipotle burritos and tacos. It's not 'authentic' Mexican food. Think of it sort of like a Subway for Mexican style food. You order up at the counter and walk down the line as the employees make your burrito (like Subway sandwiches). You get your food and pay and then grab a seat- there is no wait staff. Yes, it's *owned* by McDonald's, but there is clearly no influence on the food from anything related to McDonald's. In fact, Chipotle should be insulted to have its name spoken in the same sentence. The portions are HUGE. I usually get the chicken fajita burrito- get it with everything on it and it's incredibly tasty and very filling. If you want something lighter, go with the tacos or possibly a burrito bowl (burrito minus the tortilla). They also sell chips with salsa or guacamole, and beers and margaritas (looks like some sort of pre-mixed margarita, haven't tried that myself). The chips and sides are expensive, so I just stick with a burrito and a regular drink. For those of you sensitive to spicy foods, get the mild salsa or even no salsa at all. My wife finds it to be spicy even without salsa. I go with the hottest option myself, and ask for the corn/green chili mix as well when you get down to the salsa options.

I really like Chipotle. It's consistent, fresh and good. I'm happy to live a couple blocks away!

I love Chipotle. You probably do too. If you don't, it's because you haven't been.

Good food, great lime cilantro rice, but noone seems to know how to roll a burrito that doesn't fall apart

I friggin loooove chipotle! I don't eat there because it claims to be "authentic" mexican food, I eat there because its good. P.S. It's not longer part of the McDonalds corporation

Most things get worse as they get soggy. Why is the last bite of goodness in a Chipotle burrito so delicious?

Feels like Chipotle's standards are going down. I used to love it but now it just taste bland. Maybe the protein I get isn't as marinated as before I don't know. One things that irritates my appetite is that since I get the burrito without beans they don't put the right ratio of the ingredients and the flavors don't blend well. This is probably why so many customers I see get bowls so they can themselves try to put the best flavor combination on their spoon each bite. Quitting Chipotle like a bad habit...

Did you know this placed is owned by McDonald's. Large portions... they forget quality over quantity.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
