Every time I go to Chang's I am even more impressed than the last visit. Chang's is a diamond in the rough and the people lucky enough to find it are treated not only to great food but great prices as well. It's obvious each order is made fresh from the taste and you can see them cooking it fresh as well! If Chang's were located anywhere else you'd expect to pay $12 minimum per meal, but even their delicious shrimp meals are much less than this. I will continue to go out of my way to go to Chang's and you definitely should too. Enjoy!

This place rocks, loved their food and was a great bargain. It's been closed now "for remodeling" and there was no reopen date set but it didn't appear that anyone was even working on it. Then, they announced they were going to reopen a few weeks ago and yet it keeps being put off every week. Sure hoping that they open back up soon!

My favorite fast Chinese food in Tucson. You would never expect it to be there, and yet it is always full of pick-up customers at lunch time. Be sure to try one of their lunch specials! Fresh food & great employees.

My coworker had the brilliant suggestion of getting lunch at Chang's today. I remembered this place from when I was a kid on summer holiday and my Ma would bring their lunch specials home during the noon hour, as she worked at the adjacent DES office around the corner from the restaurant. So I told my associate that I was game. We telephoned our order in; he ordered beef/broccoli, vegetable fried rice, and shrimp chow mein. I ordered pepper beef and an order of crab puffs, I cannot do American Chinese without my crab puffs. After a cross town drive to retrieve our meal, the food was still piping hot, much to my surprise that it kept so well in my A/C blasted car. All items are served entrée style so it's all for one and one for all. First thing I tired was the crab puff, tasted much better than one I ate yesterday from a national chain that calls them by some other name. Next up was the beef/broccoli. Beef was a touch chewy but that was forgivable as the broccoli wasn't rubbery. Even held its composure as I picked it up with my handy chopsticks. I like that in a vegetable that's notorious for going limp. Third I tried the pepper beef; this potpourri consisted of sliced beef, also chewy, with bell pepper and onions stir fried. Onions were firm, bell peppers were same. Would have liked a touch more seasoning, but a drizzle of our friend the soy sauce cured that right up. Chow mein noodles were chow mein noodles, but shrimp were flavourful, definitely not over cooked. Finally came the vegetable fried rice; had onions, mushrooms, and whole broccoli stalks throughout. I though this was a nice touch considering I prefer my fried rice with something that once had parents. I wasn't missing that preference today. Changs always meant something to me because of the memories of my Ma bringing it home to us in the middle of a hot summer day. Today I revisited an old memory with more experienced taste buds. Though it may not be entirely the same as I remember from days past, my lunch did not disappoint. In fact it was among the better of American Chinese take away I had had for some time. Best part of all, my revisit didn't break the bank, which is handy considering the drive to retrieve our lunch was a journey in itself.

I have been going to Changs for over ten years. This is a great place to pick up some cheap lunch. I remember when the lunch specials were under 3 dollars. Now for a lunch special your into it for about 6 bucks. This is still a great deal for the amount of food you get. I always take my food to go because the inside of this place is boring.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
