Even though I loved their original, adorable location, this one still has got it! It's deceiving on the outside, but comes alive on the inside. Everyone is so nice, and the food hasn't changed at all!! Their Italian sodas and chai are to die for, and the price can't be beat for the size they give you. I got the spinach, pesto, and tomato crepe. They now serve half portions, and even then it's huge!!! This place is a gem, love you guys!

I'm so glad Cafe Marcel moved from 4th because now I can finally get crepes without having to deal with the agony of street parking. Basically: super low key atmosphere, delicious crepes. You really can't go wrong with savory or sweet. You can also be a glutton like me and get both (1/2 chicken lingonberry & 1/2 pear/honey/apple/brie pls & thx). The wait after ordering can be a little long, but the crepes were super enjoyable and satisfying.

When I think Cafe Marcel, three things come to mind: 1. World changing Nutella mochas (get it with soy milk for an extra little sweet kick) 2. Pesto, basil, feta, tomato crepes 3. My husband beating me at chess They have crepes for the hungry, and crepes for the sweet teeth. My husband and I absolutely love this place. The staff is extremely friendly, and they give you the genuine impression that they consider you to be family. It's a great place to go on a Sunday and play some boardgames. Cafe Marcel is a diamond in the rough.

Café Marcel was an unexpected surprise. This was the greatest food that I have ever eaten. Their lingonberry crepe with cream cheese was absolutely phenomenal and their spinach, feta and pesto with chicken was fantastic, especially with the home made herb sauce. The owners and staff are incredibly sweet and kind people. I loved this restaurant!

I have been on a crepe kick... which is hard to fill when you live in Tucson but Cafe Marcel makes it possible! I know it is time for a review on a place when I continually mention the place to friends. This is what has been occurring when it comes to Cafe Marcel! I was introduced to the cafe when I bought a new pair of eyeglasses and the salesperson recommended Cafe Marcel to me. He could not get over how delicious his breakfast was! I was so close to going directly to Cafe Marcel for lunch but I waited a few days and went with a fellow Yelper friend. We were both super impressed! The customer service was lovely and the crepes were the loveliest. We shared a sweet and a savory and they were both excellent! The savory crepe was my favorite though and I have already brought my boyfriend back to C.M. for another. If you are a pesto fan, I would recommend the spinach, tomatoes, feta and pesto crepe! The side of creamy herb sauce that comes with it is excellent. Many delicious sweet crepe choices too! Shared the nutella and strawberry on my first visit and it was so yummy.

The first time I came here it was located on 4th ave, and I didn't care for it too much, but I went back to try it again and I'm completely 100% in love with the Nutella strawberry, and banana crepes! To die for.

Great mom and pop, locally owned, crepe house. They have an amazing assortment of coffee and prices are very reasonable. Tip: order a half portion of a crepe, they are huge!

This is potentially the last meal I will have in Tucson, and I'm glad I picked this place. I came here the day after my last day at U of A (Saturday before Christmas). At 9 am, surprisingly, there were not a lot of customers. I was able to pick a window seat and enjoy some quiet time by myself. Crepes are made fresh to order, and they can only make two at a time. The owner told me that they only have enough power for all the current equipments they have, so I guess that explains the long wait others had mentioned in their reviews. The wait was long. Even though there was only one table filled (family of three) when I came in, I still waited about 10 minutes for my crepe. The crepe itself was amazing. I had the breakfast crepe and desert rose tea. They are just perfect. The home-made herb sauce was so good but a bit heavy for me. The portion is very large, but I still finished everything because it was so good. If I ever come back to town, this is the place I would come back to. I'm glad I picked this to be my last sit down meal in Tucson.

Seriously the best crepes you will ever eat, the people running the place are beyond the most awesome people ever! AMAZING food.

  • Moe G.

I stick by what I said before: I absolutely love their food and the owners are the sweetest people ever. The food alone is 5 stars. However, the wait on average, even when there's less than 12 people there, is usually 30 minutes. One time we waited 50 minutes for our food and I didn't return for about a year as a result. The new location is easier to access, and they have more staff but it's still extremely slow. Besides that the food is amazing, especially for the price!

My friend and I adored Cafe Marcel. We shared 3 half-crepes (they looked Full Size to us!) -- the ham, brie, etc; the chicken, pesto, spinach and tomato (added Moz cheese); and the pear, apple, brie & honey! OMG! It is horrible that we work so close! =) We've decided to make it a weekly affair and already planned our next dessert crepe. The restaurant is adorable and the "mom & pop" owners are wonderful people. They welcomed us to come back -- which was NOT necessary; they wouldn't be able to keep us away. Very clean and comfortable. It is truly one of the best places in Tucson.

I had brunch here today with my sister-in-law. The food was as delicious as I remembered and the service was friendly. I'm disappointed in the new location, though. It was so incredibly LOUD that we decided to leave and browse through a nearby shop so that we would be able to have a conversation. I'd go back again for the yummy crepes, but only with someone I didn't want to visit with over our food.

Loved these crepes! I had the chicken pesto crepe for my meal and a powdered sugar for dessert. The server warned me portions are big and suggested I get the half size of each. Holy Moly, it was plenty. I'm glad I took her advice. My husband ordered a half size of ham and Brie and Nutella banana. We both thought they were delicious!! I so wish they had a crêpe restaurant like this in my hometown. Tucson is a lucky town.

The owner reached out and apologized after our last experience and asked to give them another try, which we did. One word--delightful! The menu consists of "savory" or "sweet." They also have a breakfast menu. But all of that is just to give you an idea of what to order or make the decision making easier because the reality of it is that they will allow you to create your own crépe with any combination of ingredients. Yum! We ordered a ham, Brie, tomato, and spinach crépe. We also ordered a Swedish Lindenberry with bananas. It came with whipped cream. Both were really delicious. The crépe itself was light and slightly sweet. Very tasty. The ham crépe came with a sauce the side that we couldn't tell what it was, it was so light. It was difficult to choose whether to use e sauce or not because the crépe tasted good with it and it also tasted good without it. They have board and card games to play and we chose "Blink." We had fun playing while waiting for our order. At the time of this writing, this is their last day at their current location. They will be moving to Oracle Ave. and are shooting to open the first week of March. I wish them all the best in their move and at their new location. I hope they stay open for a long time.

I've been a dedicated customer to Cafe Marcel for years! I love the owners, and they always make me feel like I'm welcome when I come to their restaurant. The Nutella mocha is one of my all time favorite drinks, and I have never found it anywhere else. Their crepes are delicious, especially the breakfast crepe with its secret sauce! All the fruit crepes are also yummy! The only complaint people ever had was that the food takes a while to come out, but they fixed this when they invested in a new location on Oracle! Now they have more space and a bigger kitchen and everyone's even happier! Come check it out for yourself!

Have been going here for years- a hidden gem on 4th street! The Nutella crepes are amazing !

We were so sad when we couldn't find them any longer on 4th Avenue. ..The good news the have move to a place just off Grant on Oracle (just south of Grant) and they have more space for parking and eating. Their crepes are as scrumptious as ever. If you love crepes, don't miss this Tucson gem. They have savory and dessert crepes both. They are large, so you can split them with a friend and have some of each!

Good light crepes served with fresh spinach leaf and tomato, ham and brie my favorite, or the Swedish with raspberry mmm, an important addition to that stretch of Oracle corridor, Marcel's gives the area dimension, diversity, urbanity, also prices are quite reasonable and staff warm

Beautiful little place on Fourth and their freshly made-to order crepes are just magic. They never scrimp on quality or having only the freshest ingredients, and the service is always so kind and accommodating. I prefer seating myself in their ourdoor patio -- a small but cozy space, just perfect for a brunchy afternoon. On Sunday mornings, expect a long line. Well worth the wait. I was impressed during my last Sunday morning visit to Cafe Marcel, as staff had predicted a 30 minute wait for food. Not once did they seem irritated or overly-stressed, nor did their food suffer in quality or consistency. Just as friendly as ever and no customer seemed to mind waiting a few extra minutes. My partner in crime and I entertained ourselves with card games they have on hand while waiting for our crepes and I sipped on a fresh cappuccino. Happy sigh. My favorite savory crepes so far are the breakfast crepe -- served with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, spinach and tomato. I get it with smoked salmon added. It's just unbelievably tasty. A close tie with this one is the ham, brie, spinach, and tomato crepe, as I am a total whore for brie any day. The savory crepes are served with this creamy, herbed white gravy on the side. This really sets their crepes apart from any other. It's so freaking good you'll want to lick your plate clean. I like to go the traditional route with sweet crepes -- only lingonberry for me. A light dusting of powdered sugar and some fresh fruit and it's just perfectly sweet and tangy. I will always come back to Cafe Marcel. Always! Perfection all around.

So I arrive on my vacation in Tucson and I'm hungry for breakfast. My girlfriend says she wants crepes. Thanks to my Yelpers in Arizona giving me a heads up on some places to try we drive to Cafe Marcel. We walk in and immediately feel like we're walking into someone's home. Very welcoming atmosphere with artwork displayed. We say how we're visiting and it's our first time there. We opted for a savory crepe and a sweet crepe that my girlfriend and I split. The savory crepe was ham, spinach, eggs, cheddar, and tomatoes. Everything tasted so fresh. Next was the sweet crepe, which we tried the lingonberry which I have never even heard of. Close to a raspberry is my comparison. It was soo good. Best part is we got to watch as she prepared our crepes and it was really neat seeing the process. They are super friendly and their food is super tasty. I give 4 stars. This is probably the best crepe place I have been too.

The crepes are wonderful. We usually share a savory crepe first then split a dessert one. This time we had the ham and brie followed by a nutella with strawberries and bananas. Yum! The staff is very friendly and fast. I love the new location because the parking is much easier. I hope they do well here a this new location because the food is terrific.

Me and my friends went to this nice Cafe down on 4th Ave in Tucson. Once we paid they made the Crepes right next to the register so you can see the process. The cashier was also really nice in explaining everything to us since it was our first time in this cafe. While we waited They had a few board games to let the customers play at their tables which was really nice. Out of the 4 people in our group, we got two breakfast crepes, and 2 desserts, and they were well worth the visit. EDIT: I forgot to mention. The portions are huge. As you can see from the photos, you do get your money worth,

Cafe Marcel is a cute, quaint, light-filled hole-in-the-wall place on 4th. By far, one of the BEST, biggest, and most original crepes I've ever had in my life and I've gone back *several* times to verify this. Which one you ask? Their best savory crepe: Roasted Chicken & Lingonberries Spinach & Tomatoes. I've seriously never had a crepe like it. It's savory with the tender roasted chicken, healthy with the blend of spinach and tomatoes added in, and sweet too with lingonberry jam. This was the first time I've ever even heard of lingonberry - and man, I think that is now my favorite flavor of jam. :) There is a savory creamy sauce they provide on the side which goes surprisingly well with the sweetness of the lingonberry, but if you want to be on the healthier side, the crepe tastes just as fantastic without it. Their portions are HUGE as other yelpers have mentioned. BIgger is better, in this case. :) I think of it as 2 breakfasts for the cost of 1 - great deal in my opinion for the price! The real challenge is stopping yourself from eating more and reminding yourself that they will be the best breakfast leftovers of your life!!! If this review is PURELY on food, I would've given it 5 stars. However, the service does drop the stars down a notch. Let me explain. The wait: Yes, weekend brunch waits are long - expect 30 minutes average as other yelpers have mentioned.. One guy waiting for his food went back up to the counter and half jokingly asked, "My crepe almost done? I'm about to eat my arm off!" The good news is they provide lots of games for you to play while you wait, and I had a pretty good chess match with a friend ~ we nearly forgot about our food when it came! The staff: The main guy makes the best crepes, but he definitely takes his time to make them that perfect. They are his artwork afterall! There IS one staff member who never seems to be able to get my simple order for lavender green tea soy latte right, and the manager has to remind her every time how to make it... Yeah, that is a bit annoying and I feel bad bitching about it, but it's the truth! These are the reasons WHY I believe their wait is so long. However, because their crepes are just that perfect and worth waiting for, I still give them 4 stars. :) Eat it up!

Great food, great coffee, great environment, and great prices! This place is totally worth checking out! It is on 4th ave, so finding parking may be somewhat of a pain. I had the Pear, Apple, Brie & Honey crepe and there are plenty more on the menu that I want to try.

The staff was so friendly, they even gave my little toddler some fruit to munch on while we waited. Yes it takes a little time for the orders to come out but they are made by hand and with love, and right before your eyes! I had the vanilla granola crepe and it was delicious, I could not finish the entire thing it was huge! My husband who is ridiculously picky about his coffee actually said their americano was good! Their Swedish lingonberry crepe did leave something to be desired and was much too tart. I can't say for sure what I felt was missing. In all I love this place and the vintage east coast feel of it, I just wish it was open a little later, I always seem to miss it!

Savory sweet whatever you like! It all comes served large and in charge within a crepe .. duh! I've tried several crepes here my favorite has to be their chicken and berry crepe :) beautiful garden out back that is also dog friendly ! Perfect for relaxing anytime of the day. Often times when I am out on 4th.. its either Cafe Marcel or the Co-op when it comes to deciding where I want to eat!! yes I am comparing this place to the Co-Op because its just that amazing

Delicious fruit/yogurt/granola crepe. Filled with strawberries, bananas, pear, sprinkled with granola, raisins, covered with whipped cream, powered sugar, and a custardy yogurt. Very large portion, so sharing a crepe ($8) was perfect. Really cute decor and a nice outdoor space.

I LOVE crepes, and I love this place - I almost always get the apple, pear & brie w/ honey, but occasionally go for the Nutella & strawberry. These people are SO nice, and their crepes are to die for! Bonus points for how nice they are to my super annoying dog!

"You are now mocking me and making me look ridiculous. Just say, "I love crepes."' ~ Jean Girard in Talladega Nights - The Ballad of Ricky Bobby Cafe Marcel is a delightful little gem on 4th Avenue. Set in a small place down near the Food Coop, it's a great place for lunch. We opted to sit outside in the back patio today and enjoy the gorgeous Tucson afternoon. Also thought it might be better since I was with my daughter and my two little grandchildren. We ordered the chicken, spinach, tomato and lingonberry crepe with mozzarella melted inside and then another with pear, apple, banana and strawberries inside with a delicious vanilla cream. It is normally served with granola on top but I asked the gentleman making for no granola. He added powdered sugar, more vanilla cream and topped it with more fruit and some dried blueberries. The savory crepes are served with a yummy herb cream sauce. The owners and staff are extremely accommodating and very friendly. They cut our crepes in half and gave us additional plates for the little ones. When I casually mentioned that I forgot to order two cups of milk for the kids, our server said she would get it. I told her I hadn't ordered it yet and need to pay and she said not to worry about it. So kind and thoughtful of her. I'm really anxious to come back and try a few more crepes and some of their teas and coffee drinks. What a gem Cafe Marcel is!!

Cafe Marcel is a cute local joint in Tucson. I love crepes, in Paris i would order a ham & cheese or banana & Nutella crepe when ever i would pass a vendor. So when i read the reviews on this place i was excited to give it a whirl. The crepes here are okay but the wait time to receive your order was a little on the slow side. I ordered the banana & Nutella crepe since i couldn't pass up the chance to have a favorite combo like that......i was however bothered by the use of Hershey chocolate syrup drizzled on the top, it ruined it for me. (Not to mention the bananas i think were passed their prime too.) The crepe batter they use is a decent recipe but the goodies inside and on top were just meh. On the savory side i ordered the roasted chicken, pesto, tomatoes & spinach crepe - this crepe was good, the portion size was huge and the ingredients tasted fresh too. If you choose to stop here, i would recommend sticking to the savory crepe. Or if you order the sweet crepe just tell them not to put the hershey's stuff on it.

Cute little restaurant. You can watch them make the crepes. There is a huge variety of both sweet and savory crepes. And they also serve espresso and tea. Free wifi is available.

Truly a gem in Tucson; a hole in the wall, very quaint! Delicious crepes of all kinds! The owners are so sweet, and helpful when you can't make up your mind! Very clean both outside DVD inside! They gave seating in the front, and back!

When I saw the pictures of their crepes on yelp, I didn't realize that how large these crepes were. Today I just tried their crepes with my friends, and I was satisfied with their delicious crepes, which could easily make people full. I ordered a Swedish crepes, you can choose which fruit were put inside. There were several choices, such as raspberry, strawberry and apple. The combination of the soft fruit and crepes were really good. My friend ordered a savory crepe, which was also very good. No matter you are craving for something sweet or a tasty breakfast, this is a good place to go! I think I will go back and have their breakfast crepe soon!

'Twas my 1st time in downtown Tucson, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the ambiance in general. The storefront for this little joint is completely unassuming - especially surrounded by beautiful street art and wildly inventive signage. When we went it was about half full, but we were able to order immediately. Got a large iced chai - which was ok, but was long gone by the time our meals came out. I'm pretty sure there's only one guy cooking crepes on one of two crepe griddles - but it still took about thirty minutes. I got the savory breakfast crepe - which comes with eggs & spinach and then I added ham and feta - which was a fantastic choice. I think it may be the best savory crepe I've ever had. Sadly, the dessert crepe was just meh. One of the bananas MAY have turned, something was funky. And on top of beautiful crepe, with a couple strawberries and Nutella, it was covered in crappy Hershey's syrup - which is like putting American cheese on a kobe burger. The service was friendly, and the size of the joint is just right... if it were any bigger they'd have real problems with the cooking speed. In other words, don't go there if you're in a hurry and DO get a savory crepe - you won't regret it. BUT, if you're craving a delicious sweet dessert crepe, skip it and go somewhere else.

Delicious, freshly made crepes in a welcoming setting. Went with a friend for weekday brunch, I had a Nutella/banana/strawberry and a Nutella latte. Both yum! They have a super friendly staff as well. The only thing I'd suggest is more comfy seating, maybe some squishy couches and chairs. Can't wait to go back and try a savory crepe!

  • Christina M.

Unhappy. We tried their americano, very watery and poorly done. We were going to try their crepes, but a large party had just finished ordering, and with only two hot plates, our order would have been about an hour later. After waiting 20 minutes and watching the slow, painful progress, we decided to try elsewhere. Also, the place smelled damp, very like wet dog, rather unappetizing. I support small businesses, but why not have a griddle to make eggs and fillings to order while someone else makes the crepes?! By cooking eggs on the crepe griddle, then making the crepe afterwords you are ensuring cold unappetizing food, and long waits.

I have been eating here for a few years and I just love the atmosphere and food. Delicious, adequately priced, and relaxed atmosphere. I'm a little sad they will be moving down to oracle, but it makes sense since 4th ave will be adding parking meters... bummer

This place is the shit. Every time I go to Marcel, the people are very friendly, and the food is consistently great. Filled with ingredients, cooked perfectly, and man oh man that gravy sauce is dope. There are board games available, and the wooden tables are spacious. You can sit on the outdoor patio if you'd like, or sit by the window and people watch. I can't fathom giving this place a bad review. Been there at least five times. Crepes are great!! I wonder who came up with that..
