Yelp to the rescue! Always on the lookout for Friday Fish Frys I did a search on Yelp for just such and this place came up. It was close to work. Say no more. For $7.99 you can get three pieces of fish, fries and coleslaw. For $2 more you can make it an all-you-can-eat. One comment about this: if you want more fries and not just more fish they will charge you $.50. This doesn't seem to make much sense as my buddy commented, "Fries are probably cheaper than fish and wouldn't you rather have someone filling up on fries." Just sayin'... I have been here long, long ago for breakfast and the look of the place has changed completely. It used to have that total greasy-spoon feel to it. The decor is all country themed, but it's clean and I like what they have done with it. As I mentioned, this visit was all about the fish fry and, I gotta say, it was really good. If you order the all-you-can-eat, they start you out with the above-mentioned three pieces and you can, obviously, get more if you want. The fish and fries were hot and crispy and the coleslaw was crunchy and not drowning in dressing. The tartar sauce seemed to be homemade. Service was pretty good. It took a while for our server to make it to our table, but once she did serve us she was on top of everything. Halfway through our first serving, she asked us if she should put in an order for more. Yes, please... They do have a Yelp check-in offer that is currently living in my phone. Yup, that means I gotta go back.

I think I must take the same position on this store that Corey has taken in the past. Food: Sub standard Service: Snails pace Price: Decent (check in special was not worth it) Won't be making the rounds back to this breakfast nook anytime soon. In fact I think a chain like IHOP would have been better..... Not a fan of the Potatoes! (super gross)

It is what it is. The staff is friendly and the food is plentiful. is it gourmet? No, but it is home style cooked food. You know the kind that sticks to your ribs. Chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy etc. It is nothing special, which is what i love about it. They are very patriotic as the owner is retired Air Force I think. I've never had a bad experience and sometimes there is a wait because there is literally no open tables (which i take as a good sign at a restaurant).

The restaurant feels very family orientated and a place where regulars go. I love that type of establishment where the customer and waiter, waitress gets to know each other and look forward to seeing each other every week. I saw ladies from the red hat society arrive for a lovely breakfast with each other, some war vets inside. The biscuit and gravy was amazing, the gravy was so smooth and not salty which tends to happen when white gravy is made. The biscuit was so light and fluffy, the bacon was crispy and not fatty. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the potatoes had a slight seasoning to them. It was a little pricey for a small place but I thought it was worth it because we need to remember the economy isn't it's greatest. Support local businesses!

Well, I should have listened to you Yelp. You definitely told me so. I was just so excited because the place has a check-in offer, that doesn't mean much if the food is sub-par and pretty pricey for breakfast. In an ode to my fave foods before I go into ninja stealth mode for 30 days, I had two scrambled eggs, home fries, a biscuit and a chocolate chip pancake. Nothing stood out. Everything was pretty mediocre. I'm certain they don't make the biscuits, the potatoes were so artificially seasoned I'm guessing they come frozen and even the eggs had a strange flavor. I won't say anything about the pancake because I really don't have anything constructive. (It was a bust). I feel bad because the inside is sort of cute, VERY patriotic! The staff was really friendly and food came out prompt. It just wasn't worth it in the end and I'm sorry I didn't read more reviews first. Know Before You Go: There's an extensive lunch menu that you may be interested in. Is it better than breakfast? Not sure.

First I must say: God Bless America. Now that that is out of the way, I've been here twice. The first time I thought it was a good idea to get something called "The Hobo", which was biscuits and gravy with sausage and egg on top and hash browns. There was just something off about it and I commented that I think if I had just got the biscuits and gravy I would of liked my meal. The second time there was a wait, I think pretty much everyone in front of us was elderly. I decided to get a hamburger and fries. It was OK. I can't say it was worth writing home about, but it wasn't bad and when we did get a table the service was also mediocre. What is weird about this place ( I mean besides the whole sorta right wing God Bless America vibe of it.) is that the cash register is in the back right corner. You have to go away from the door to pay. To me that is just asking for a dine and dash.

We were looking for a good "mom and pop" real country style restaurant to eat at when we came across the Country Biscuit. So let's start with the good-very friendly staff and clean establishment. The food however leaves a lot to be desired. The corn beef hash was literally straight out of a can and the chicken fried steak was a pre-frozen imitation meat patty smothered in canned, tasteless gravy. The only real homemade item we had was the pancakes and they were really good! Overall, the food just didn't do it for us.

  • Israel V.

This place has very good food, for certain items on the menu. The home fried potatoes are excellent. The breakfast burrito was not that great, the potato pancakes were good, but had a little too much egg. My wife was also not that impressed with the breakfast egg sandwich. We are vegetarians, so haven't had anything with meat, but the biscuits are probably very tasty (a lot of the food is made from scratch, you can tell.) The pancakes, however, are probably the best pancakes I have ever eaten! If you want pancakes, you need to go to Biscuits Country Cafe, seriously. The pancakes are better than Blue Willow, the Good Egg, etc. This is the place for pancake cravers!

Cute little breakfast spot. Very clean, service was good, food was good. Didn't rush you to leave like some places.

I don't understand why the earlier reviews were negative. Yes they are very patriotic and display an abundance of American-patriotic decor items, but so what? Over the top for me, but the food is great. . I like that the place has it's own personality. I'm a flaming liberal and I was not offended by the decor. The owners are allowed to decorate however they please and patrons can choose not to eat there if it's offensive. (BTW I'm a flaming liberal.) They make the best potato pancakes I've had in Tucson. I'm glad they give a military discount; the military don't make much money. The ownership has not changed and the food is as good as ever. Yeah sometimes service is a bit slow. Today they had one huge group in the back room and evidence that another large group had just left from the main room. They only had two or three wait persons that I could see, but they seemed to handle the job pretty well. I gave my waiter a 30% tip because he was polite and attentive and alerted me that since the potato pancakes are made from scratch they would take longer than other breakfast foods. I actually knew that, but he's a new waiter to me. The owner came to talk to a winter visitor who was leaving for the summer and wished him a safe trip. The owner was cordial when I paid and I made a point of complimenting the cook, who is his wife. I have no complaints about Biscuits; the food is well made American. The food is made at the time it's ordered and is not pre-made like chain restaurants

My husband and I love biscuits and as in a previous review, love the theme. Did not know one needed to be right to enjoy the patriotism but do. You are greeted like an old friend when you enter. The food tastes good, which is why we keep going back. We have lots of choices and the atmosphere and food are winners. Our 7 year old grandson went with us last weekend and the waitress really embellished his hot chocolate - his eyes almost popped out of his head. He ate almost all of his very generous two eggs (more like three), his bacon and two HUGE pancakes. The biscuits and gravy are what we normally get - it is very tasty. My only complaint would be the processed swiss cheese in the scrambles vs regular swiss but that is a small issue to me and I should not be eating any cheese anyway so I skip. BISCUITS HAS FREE WIRELESS. YEA!!! Yes, we are fans.

I tried biscuits for the first time today with a friend. When we arrived there was a huge crowd of people blocking the doorway and we waited for about 10 minutes expecting to put our names in or something and no one approached us. Then these two very rude ladies then came in and shoved through the crowd and went to the front of the line and a man showed up to put their name in when the rest of us had been waiting to do that. I think they need to work on paying more attention and getting their customers in the right order of when they came in so that it's fair. I tried the southwest burger and green bean fries, they were pretty good. They seem to have a lot of selection on their menu which is good. Overall it seems like your average breakfast place. I think they need to have someone constantly at the front hostessing and controlling wait times.

Great service, Daniel was very personable and attentive. Food was okay, nothing bad but nothing stood out either. Probably won't go back as there really was nothing memorable about the food.

Been here a few times and was not too impressed, but today was a totally different story. Was at Diamondback drooling over guns when my fiance and I sauntered over to the cafe. I got the half order of the Hobo which was freaking delicious and he got an omelette and huge order of biscuits and gravy. Oh dear the gravy was like a taste of heaven. Service was awesome but of course it was later in day on a Tuesday so was pretty slow. Will definitely be back!!

Great family atmosphere. Being ex military I loved the patriotic bears and also the discount. Owner walks around and asks if everything is ok. Will be returning!

The wait was long....but good things come to those who wait!! This little family owned cafe was absolutely adorable! Patriotic decor, friendly employees and the owner was right there in the mix helping out. Breakfast was amazing. All the options look tasty but I ordered The Hobo and it was delicious! If you leave this place hungry it's your own fault! Either get there early to beat the wait times, or just wait and have the food make up for the wait (:

Biscuits is one of my favorite breakfast restaurants. The food is consistently good, prices are average and the staff is always very friendly. They have a breakfast rush, especially on Sunday's when the church's let out, but that's pretty normal and it's definitely worth the wait. I've been to most breakfast places in that area and when the rush is on they are all really busy. However, I have never had to wait very long to get my meal at Biscuits. And as the name implies the biscuits are awesome!

This is the place for biscuits and gravy. Yum. Takes alittle time once you order to get your food however its cooked to order. If you get here early especially on the weekends there can be along wait.

Oh Biscuits...at one time you were up there with the best. Now, your glory certainly has faded. I must admit I wasn't in a great mood to start with. Jethro's was packed...Baja Cafe was packed...at this point I was ready to go through the drive thru at Mickey Deez, but I was almost booed out of the car. So Biscuits was my Mom's suggestion. I've been a couple times before and hadn't been impressed. But I gave in...knuckled under. A decent meal could change my mood and my mind. I mean it's just breakfast (the most important meal of the day). How bad could it be? Hey- here are the positives: Biscuits got us in with no wait and service was friendly. That's all I got in the positives. Here are the bads (one of which I can't really fault the restaurant for, but what the heck...I'm gonna anyway) We got sat at a booth that had about ten inches of clearance from table to booth back. I need at least a good foot and a half for gut comfort. But somebody with a bigger gut was seated behind us and before us and was able to scootch the booth to accommodate their girth. I gained a couple inches by pushing our table into my daughter's chest. It's okay, she's seven. She doesn't need that much room, but it still was like wearing tight Levi's for me. Not flattering, and yeah...a dirty reminder that I need to lose some lbs. I ordered eggs over easy and corned beef hash, home fries, wheat toast and coffee. My daughter had chocolate chip pancakes. My mom...I couldn't say. She always ends up making a bacon sandwich with her toast and is happy with that. Oh, and she likes to steal the individual jellies and take them home in her old lady purse that weighs in like a kettle bell. That's her thing- jelly thief. The over easy eggs were good. Hash canned and acceptable. Toast was not over, yet mysteriously dry and horrible. Home fries? Uh, if your home is low budget industrial and frozen, then I guess home fries are what they were. Spongy cubes of something that might be potato is probably more accurate. Long thinning black hair hidden under the inedible toast and "home fries"? It was probably free, because I didn't see it on our bill. And really, I was just happy it wasn't short and curly. My daughter's pancakes looked good. Butter for a nose...whipped cream smile and eyes...hot off the griddle. So much promise. She always drowns em in syrup. So how could it taste bad? They did. Salty weird. I don't know what was wrong with them, but something wasn't right. Something syrup and decent service can't hide. Biscuits, you can only ride "the other places are packed" ride for so long.

I do recommend this place. It's a small family own cafe. Owner and staff are very friendly and personable. Food was good: I had the mushroom burger, husband had the blt. Everything came out hot and quickly. We did have a small wait but it was a Sunday, we ate there on a weekday and there was no wait time.

Owners are so strange and rude that even if the food was worth the overpriced menu i would not recommed it!! One of the worst experiences in my 20 years in Tucson!! Go somewhere else!

Have been here 3 times now and this place is truly amazing. My wife's parents first found it while at a car show at Little Anthony's...they're good about finding little eateries. As others have indicated, don't come here if you're in a hurry but if you've got time to wait, the food and staff are awesome! We're from the Midwest and this is a true country diner, they only serve breakfast and lunch through the morning and early afternoon and the food has been absolutely delicious every time. I read another post about some rude owners and staff here...not real sure where he went because they all go out of their way to make certain your visit is a good one and that you're taken care of. Drinks are always topped off, food is hot and made to order, and always with a smile. And the prices...we've never spent more than 10 bucks each including drinks!! The scrambles are unbelievably delicious and my wife usually gets french toast which is clearly made fresh...no sitting under a heat lamp! On top of ALL that, they have a great military discount...can't beat it! Must add this to your "have to try" list!!

I love biscuits so I had to try this restaurant. Only this time, I didn't order biscuits. I thought the French Toast loved good and it was. 6 slices of yummy food done perfectly. It's quite sweet so be prepared My partner had the fish and chips and felt they were just OK. The fish had a fishy taste to it. Sounds strange but those that love this dish know what I mean. The cole slaw that came with it was OK. The server was friendly and attentive. Yes, it's a very patriotic place offering discounts for our military. What a wonderful thing to do. I want to return again and try those biscuits and gravy.

My wife and I waited 45 minutes for our order before we gave up and left. The owner's response to our complaint about the long wait was to tell us that it wasn't really a long wait, then left saying he had to go cancel our order. There's plenty of good east side breakfast spots on the east side. I won't waste any more of my time at Biscuits.

FAVORITE BREAKFAST SPOT IN EAST TUCSON. This is our GO TO breakfast spot. We've been going here for a few years. The chicken fried steak and biscuits with gravy is the favorite for our family of 4. And my hubby is a hard critic since he makes a mean chicken fried steak himself. The staff is always friendly and nice. They create a warm, welcoming family atmosphere.

  • Samantha M.

Yes, the wait was long (about 30 minutes), but it was worth every minute! The service was excellent. The server and host were very kind, thoughtful, and funny, which gave the place a lot of charm. It had that home made, country feel. I felt it took an average amount of time to receive the food, about the same as you would get at Bobo's or any other beloved breakfast place, so I have to say I disagree with those complaining about long waits. As for the food, the hash browns were extra crispy in a very good way, the eggs were done just right, the gravy was delicious, the coffee was refilled with great frequency, the cinnamon roll was delightfully fluffy, and all of this came at a very reasonable price... All in all I have to say I will definitely be coming back sometime soon!

  • Dennis T.

I had high hopes for this little breakfast spot. Unfortunately, I made a mistake by stopping here. I ordered the corned beef hash, expecting something homemade. What I received on my plate was mush that obviously came out of a can. Just awful. The country gravy also tasted like something pre-made. To say I was disappointed with the food is an understatement. The decor reminds me an elderly person's home. Tacky nick-nacks and uninspired craft work galore. Not necessarily dirty, but not exactly clean either. The waitstaff was very nice. That's something, I suppose.

Great find ... Though I grew up in Tucson, we have lived in San Diego for 30+ years. When we visit a few times a year, we try out local diners in the area for breakfast ... So we know that part of the Tucson landscape pretty well, and were very pleasantly surprised with this great find ... Definitely toward the top of the pack! Good breakfast food (between the three of us we had the biscuits and gravy combo, a scramble and a walnut-banana pancake combo), great atmosphere and very nice staff. Will definitely be back...

Great food, fast service, and family-friendly atmosphere. We had a party of 8 and told the host that we were in a hurry to get down to Kartchner Caverns State Park. We were seated within 5 minutes in their separate dining room. Orders for drinks and meals were taken promptly. Our meals were served pretty quickly; a lot quicker than I expected. Everything was delicious. I had the mushroom burger, mom had the club sandwich, dad had fish and chips. We wished we had more time to savor our meals; Too bad we were in a rush. We will be back!

I DO RECOMMEND! If you're in a hurry, I do not recommend, BUT if you want an AMAZING sandwich try the Vinny aka Reuben's cousin. Went in with the family over the weekend for lunch. My wife used to go there back in the days, she said when it was at another location, and feel's the food is just as great if not better. It isn't anything fancy, typical American comfort foods, that comes out hot and DELICIOUS AS CAN BE!!

Don't go if you are in a hurry or if you want customer service. When we arrived today they had a full house with a waiting list great for them well they have no structure or hostess or way to get your name on the list you must hunt someone down to find the person who is managing the list after waiting for 10 min finally got our name on the list. Then we watched as everyone get seated, even people who came in after us and here is why our group was for 5 four adults and 1 kid yes a bigger group the gentleman came up and told us he was waiting for the middle table to clear out we were ok with that the rest of our group had not arrived yet and the few extra minutes to wait were ok. Well now it is 20 min later and I would have loved some coffee while I waited and the table was clear but no another couple walked in an was given our table as we sat patiently well my patients ran out so we decided to go elsewhere you lose I can get mediocre food anywhere. The manager owner whatever he is of course was nowhere to be found or did he care. This has happened too many times now I like supporting locals in the community but you only get so many chances before bigger better run places get my money.

I used to come to Biscuits awhile ago, when it was a few doors down from the where it is now. Apparently it has come under new ownership since then - and not for the better. My friends and I had come in during the last week of June for the first time since the move/owner change. There was quite a bit of America decoration, but it didn't really phase us, as it was entirely seasonally appropriate. However, we knew there was something a little creepy going on when we came back at Christmas and it was all still there. The whole place screams "'MURRRICA!!!'" a little too loudly. Plus, they pepper the waiting area with Christian paraphernalia. I love that we have a free country where you can garishly display your religious preferences however you like, but at the end of the day it can turn people off. That aside, it was a little overpriced for what you get, which is basic-ass breakfast food. Besides the Patriotism being shoved down your throat with every bite, the restaurant is housed in an old dance studio, so the atmosphere is a little off. The service is slow and forgettable. The owner's snotty replies to the criticism below honestly make me never want to go back. 2-stars for their awesome home fries and Elvis-themed bathroom, though!

This is my second time eating here. Not only was it as amazing as the first time, the second time was even better. The staff was extremely friendly and even the manager came over and chatted a bit. The food is to die for. The country style gravy is just like "Momma used to make" which is a big deal since both my husband and I are from the South (East Coast) and it's hard to find "HOME COOKIN' " around here in Tucson. We went in for Breakfast and I got a Ham and Cheese omelet with home fries and a biscuit and gravy and my husband had 2 Eggs over easy with 2 sausage patties and of course Biscuits and gravy. It was amazing. As for the service, we TIP on service. We start out at 20% and go from there. (I used to be a waitress, so I am BIG on tipping...but ONLY if you earn it). This waitress ended up getting an $11 tip on a $21 order. Also, they give Military discount which is always nice. We will for sure be back, and will be bringing family with us the next time they are in town to visit! There's only ONE down side....they aren't open past 2. :(

So. First Time here and the wait was substantial we were there on a Sunday morning so it was actually expected. But altogether we waited about 40 minutes from the time that we checked in to the time that we got our food so that in a bit so was daunting. The atmosphere was okay although it took a long time for us to get a refill for our coffees which wasn't by our waiter. In actuality our waiter Daniel was the saving grace from this restaurant visit. Their food is subpar something normal you can make in your own kitchen and a little bit pricey at about eight dollars average per plate. Their portions are great I had the waffle plate and my sister had the biscuits and gravy she and she did not like the gravy and she said it was canned. Unfortunately I do not like to leave poor reviews but as a avid yelper I feel it's important to leave honest reviews. We did however really enjoy the customer service aspect waiter Daniel was awesome and make sure that he knew it. We may visit again perhaps on a slower morning and try different dishes to change our view.

We've definitely cut back our visits here recently after we saw how one waitress treated a table of customers. One person at the table ordered an omelet that she didn't enjoy because she didn't realize it had onion in it. She told the waitress, who then became slightly belligerent about the fact that "it clearly says it has onions in it on the menu." The woman just didn't want it, so the waitress went ahead and made another for her, reluctantly and rudely. And then at the end of the meal, SURPRISE! They charged this woman for TWO omelets. They refused to remove one from the bill. When people do not enjoy your food, you re-make it for them. Period. A good restaurant would re-make it *and* comp the entree off the meal. They weren't even willing to charge for one omelet and comp the other in good faith. The most disturbing part is that the waitress didn't even inform the customer that they were intending on charging her for the second omelet. Not comping or re-making meals free-of-charge is, as far as I understand it, the restaurant policy, not just the waitress being a jerk. The entire event was absolutely atrocious for a restaurant to do. You are supposed to want people to enjoy their experience at your restaurant. Biscuits clearly proved that they don't care. We were spending our money there once a week. We won't be doing that anymore. What if they make something badly one day? I have to eat a bad meal, or pay for two of them? That's completely unacceptable, and they really lost loyal customers in us because of that. Furthermore, the decor has gotten even more out of hand. It didn't really bother me, but now with the Christian music and magazines all over, I'm sorry, but it's not really appropriate. It's a business at the end of the day, not a place to force feed your religion to people. I go to restaurants to eat meals, not to be indoctrinated. Sorry Biscuits. Treat your customers with some respect if you want to stay in business.

  • Amanda B.

This was nothing special and seemed a little overpriced for quantity. It's a typical diner/cafe. All American (and the decor will not let you forget that). The food was not memorable and I think there are better breakfast places on the east side. But if you are in the area and don't want to look elsewhere, swing on here.

Its gone way down hill service is not great, they lost are order we waited an hour and a half after ordering to get are food, did not comp us on are bill not even a sorry. I would appreciate a little good customer service, Not the way to do business in Tucson.

Pretty ok. I'm not that impressed. Potatoes were hot. Biscuit and gravy ice cold. Coffee was great. Server was outstanding. Run of the norm breakfast place. Would go there again if I was on that side of town. Service was tops

First time. Ordered Cinabun French Toast. Had to order bacon on side as the french toast came w/nothing with it. When the food came out and was sat in front of me I was shocked that these 2 pieces of "french toast" which looked like I had made them at home were costing me $5.99. Bacon was good tho. All in all this breakfast ended up costing 2 people approx $23.00. While sitting there eating we were being dive bombed by about 3 flies. NOT COOL! I realize fly's somehow get in but while I'm trying to eat? Not appetizing! Waitress was very friendly but didn't make up for quality, quantity nor cost of food!

Ate there yesterday morning when our other Sunday morning brunch spot was closed for remodeling. It was OK, but we've had better. Egg dishes were of modest quality. When an omlette ingredient lists cheese as a primary one, it should be included more than a garnish over the top.

I can't believe I just spent money & got out of bed for this breakfast. It is basic bland food that I could have whipped up while simultaneously writing this review w/one hand on my iPhone. The service was slow & the waitresses comedy act didn't make up for it. Don't waste your money

If I could give this place less than a star I would.... My husband and I went there on Easter for breakfast. The food was something I could have cooked at home... flavorless and boring. I had 2 black curly hairs in my food. We decided to stop eating once it was found and leave the restaurant. I told the cashier and he un sympathetically apologized and still made us pay for the food. CRAPPY SERVICE!

I've been eating breakfast at Biscuits for a couple of years. The food has always been good, everyday food. Tasty and reasonably priced. Today was my first visit since they moved to their new location. The food was the same - I am a fan of their biscuits and gravy - but the staff seems disorganized and unsure of how to deal with the extra seating. We waited 10-15 minutes before a waitress came to our table and at least 3 tables sat after us had their food before us. The wait time for our food seemed longer than usual, and I noticed other patrons asking about their orders. I would write this off to a new location except that they've been there for about 5 months. That's plenty of time to get the kinks worked out. I hope they bring the service and timing back up to par.

Our dining experience here was almost as bad as the time I found a bloody fingernail in my salad at TGIF. The main difference, aside from poor grooming was that at tGIF, our complaints were handled professionally. Here's what happened at Biscuits, I ordered a mushroom cheese omelet with home fries. My hubby ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. The fries arrived after a thirty minute wait. During this time, we gave up on getting a coffee refill (didn't matter because the waittress had given us a hard look when we asked for more cream and sugar). We were all so hungry (my three year old ate a package of goldfish crackers that I carry around for emergencies and was starting to get antsy) that we decided to share the home fried potatoes. Ick! They were fried and they were made of potatoes. But home fried, I think not. They had a freezer-y taint to them and the outsides were coated in some sort of industrial flavoring that tasted a little bit like a dorito. I couldn't help thinking that I would have been happier with a plate of home cooked tater tots (it would have been cheaper too!). Finally our food arrived. My husband's gravy tasted like something from a can and the biscuit wasn't fresh baked, it was dry and heavy, too much baking soda and not enough fat to lighten the dough, is my guess. He ate his bacon and pronounced it crisp and tasty. My omelet was so bad, I couldn't eat it. The cheese, as someone else mentioned, was merely a garnish, in this case a half a slice of a Kraft processed cheese single. Now beyond the fact that I Hate, Hate it when people refer to processed cheese as cheese, it really ticked me off that the menu neglected to mention that the cheese on hand would be of such a minute quality. I know, my logic is appalling here, I hate velveeta and yet I'm angry that I didn't get enough it in my omelette. Anyways on to the aforementioned omelet, the eggs were rubbery and the inside was filled with cold canned mushrooms. Yep, canned mushrooms. Honestly, I haven't eaten a canned mushroom in years, not since long before my sweet great granny died. If you've never eaten a canned mushroom, count yourself lucky, they taste worse than canned carrots mixed with lima beans. I can only assume that granny, who lived through the depression, the cuban missile crisis and disco had become a bit senior in her tastes and didn't realize that fresh ones could be bought at the neighborhood market. For some bizarro reason, I decided to give it a taste, even though the smell was akin to day old dog food, totallly barfable. So we asked for the check and spoke with the older guy at the counter. The first words out of his mouth were, 'you ate it so you pay for it, lady!' When we countered with, 'hey, I'll pay for the potatoes, since almost 1/4 were eaten, but I will not pay for the eggs.' The hard eyed waitress approached and said, 'you ate the omelette too!' She was holding my plate and pointed to one bite missing part! I was really incensed at this point and my husband was trying to calm me down, but one bite of bad eggs and two frozen cubed potoes for breakfast had kinda tweaked my rage center. Anyways, we ended up paying for the entire breakfast, the old guy complained about us to his waittress as we left calling us 'lazy welfare types.' Find somewhere else to eat.

Went for a late breakfast on a Sunday. We were seated and had drinks in no time. We had our food quickly and the man who served us was nice. The food was good, and a lot of it. I would return again.

Food okay, that's the only reason I give it two stars. Too pricey for simple food got charged .99 cents for an extra biscuit! They give you a gallon of gravy, but just one little biscuit kind of dumb. The service sucked waitress was the worst ever! It's like we were not wanted at the restaurant. Seriously they need some customer service lessons.

Only been here once since the move. GREAT Friday fish fry. Generous portions, very tasty fish, better than McD's fry's. Good slaw and tartar sauce.

Went for breakfast on a Friday morning at 8:45. Only a few customers when I walked in, but the place filled up after I got there. Just had a couple of eggs with home fries and toast. Not bad. I didn't try the biscuits and gravy just because I don't eat that kind of stuff. Service was reasonably quick, quite friendly and courteous. Clean bathrooms. For straightforward grub, I don't see any reason to avoid it.
