First time here and it definitely exceeded my expectations. Amazing service. This young guy named Carlos was the best, made sure my boyfriend and I were completely taken care of. Food was even better. Next time I'm in Tucson I will be going back!

I took my sister and her girlfriend here who were visiting from out of town. I wasn't all to impressed with their salads (so nothing for me to recommend after trying them once), but their sandwiches looked good. They also had a pretty tasty looking dessert stand that I almost blew my diet for. The sizes are good for the price and don't be turned off by the long lines here. They seem to have a pretty good system and enough staff to get you in and through the line in a good amount of time. They also have an excellent area for you to grab some foil and wrap up your leftovers to go! All and all, I will give this place another shot for sure!

I'm sorry but I'm just not hopping aboard the "Beyond Bread bandwagon". I give three stars because the bread always tastes fresh and the desserts (which lets be real, is all I really need in life...well besides Jax Teller...) are of good quality and variety. The service is friendly and if you can get over the fact that everyone in the world is sticking their germy hands in, they offer samples of their bread while you wait! Why not give 5 stars you ask? The pastries and desserts, while very good, taste garden variety. Obviously not walmart, but for the price you pay it seems the ingredients and the selection should be a little better. Maybe Village bake house has spoiled me, but if your in the area it's not a bad choice.

This is a good Tucson-staple. It is a crowd - pleaser for most. There staff is always efficient and friendly. A lot of young kids, which is nice it gives them a place to work. The sandwiches have great names and really unique flavor combinations! They also have great salads and a soup of the day in a delicious bread bown. The portions are massive and a good deal for a big lunch! Sometimes the bread can be a little hard to the tooth, so if you have braces or sensitive teeth, this may not be your place! This is a must for locals and visitors alike!

In my humble opinion, Beyond Bread and Fortunatos are the best sandwich shops in Tucson (ever since Susie's on Broadway next to Nadine's closed down about 5 years ago). Usually when you walk in you'll be put off by the line all the way to the door. Don't fret though, as the line goes quite fast and you can sample some bread while waiting. The kitchen service though can be hit or miss. It's usually only when you order a hot sandwich that it slows them down a lot. I ordered the Brads Beef which is roast beef, provolone cheese, green chiles, red onion, Russian dressing on white bread. It's so bad for you yet so good. Isn't that normally the case? Important note to those who don't know. Avoid the Ciabatta bread at all cost. It comes standard on some sandwiches (though I don't know why). Those sandwiches have a tooth next to them on the menu. Why? Because you'll break a tooth on it, its so hard. There is nothing enjoyable about that bread. How many times do they have to be sued before it sinks in and they get rid of that awful bread or at least stop making it standard on sandwiches? (Tangent over) If you have room afterwards try some of their awesome cookies. They also do the best banana bread and chocolate babka (Fridays only).

First time I came here I was instantly hooked! Their Ruben sandwich is absolutely amazing! I go here at least once a week! Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't regret it!

50 cents extra for non-dairy creamer? Are you kidding me?!! First, the staff didn't think they offered any non-dairy at all, apparently not realizing that soy milk doesn't come from a cow. Then came the outrageously inflated extra charge -- putting soy milk in the $50 a gallon range. Ripping off lactose intolerant customers is not a good way to entice them to return. Happy Ending: After lunch we spied a brand new Pita Jungle in the same plaza. Their food is so much better we won't miss Beyond Bread at all!

Always my favorite. This location is really nice. I usually opt for the Chad's Choice. It's no longer on the menu, but you can still order it. It's a hot sandwich with grilled chicken, green chiles, sprouts, provolone and mayo. Always get a dessert! Fruit tart, lemon bar, coffee cake in a mug, you literally can't go wrong

Quality and quantity. Best salads, sandwiches and soups, as well as many varieties of sourdough and pastries. Fantastic breads baked daily. Panera just opened here and it's okay, but cannot compete regarding flavor, portion size and menu variety. The negative reviews here seem mostly about prices. Those people should stick to corporate fast food. Remember, complaining about price hurts the whole Tucson market in the long run. Locally owned restaurants contribute to the local economy. BB isn't free, but you get what you pay for.

My favorite place to have lunch in this part of town. Great food, super staff and nice place. I go in a lot and am never disappointed. Their breads are the best I've had outside of France. Sandwiches are outstanding and the sides are tasty too. Quality ingredients handled with care. What's not to love?

This is my favorite lunch spot in Tucson and has been since I moved here 5 years ago. The sandwiches are huge; some I can make into 3 meals, and the pasta salad ($1 extra with your sandwich) is the best I've ever had. Usually at restaurants I tend to order the same thing every time I go, but at Beyond Bread I always order something different because there is so much to try, and everything is so good! Some of my favorite sandwiches are Colette's Cordon Blue, Rex's Revenge and Bart's Bag. Oh, and can't forget the Saturday Special-Rueben on Pretzel Roll! You can also sub any bread on any sandwich, no problem (be careful of the breads with the little tooth next to them on the menu, they can be quite hard).

Had lunch with new friend on the covered patio yesterday. She had Friday salmon special salad, and I had Friday salmon special sandwich, plus regular potato chips. Staff were friendly and helpful. Chairs were comfortable. It's nice to eat in their hybrid outside/inside space at ambient temperature. I realized afterward that in future I need to ask for the bread to be warmed or toasted. Cold bread surrounding warm salmon isn't my favorite. Suggestion: offer toasted/warmed bread with all hot sandwich contents.

Visiting from out of town and spied Beyond Bread on the way to the resort. Decided to stop here for Sunday breakfast; apparently a great idea because there was no line, just walked right up. Atmosphere is casual and comfortable, bistro-like. Service Person taking my order was friendly, explaining the menu and the lack of trash receptacles. Very soft spoken though, which made her difficult to hear in a open room setting. Food Amazing - best breakfast sandwich I ever recall eating. Highly recommend the Bernie's Bacon, made with fresh ingredients and the side of roasted potatoes was perfectly cooked with a minimum of fat. The star, though, was the fresh white bread. May need to pick up a loaf to go! As I am typing this review, the crowds and lines are forming...perhaps everyone is waking up late after the PAC 12 championship game! At any rate, I will be back to BB anytime I'm in the Old Pueblo!

Very torn on this one... Pros: Great sandwich, really good bread (we had the Pauli's Pesto and the herb foccacia is wonderful!), great bread to sample so you don't get 'hangry' in line, cool patio to sit on, great location. Cons: We didn't have great luck with the girl serving us behind the register- seemed super annoyed to modify anything (put it on the side- she just deleted it instead so we didn't get it), and generally unhappy to have us there. I don't consider myself a rude customer to be fair, being someone who worked in service for a long time- so I'm not used to someone returning kindness with a scowl. It took about 20-25 minutes to get one sandwich when there were only 2 other couples in the restaurant, which seemed odd... When we did get it, it was great, so no complaints on the food at all! Just the service seemed off. We'll totally be back- the food is good enough that we try to even replicate some of their great sandwiches at home in Portland! We'll just probably try a different location next time.

Breakfast, lunch or early dinner here it does really all start with the quality breads they bake. Top notch sandwiches (cold or hot), soups and salads populate the menu, all with interesting names. Order at the counter and they'll bring it out to you in a short while when it's ready (no calling your name or you having to listen for a number) which is great so you can focus on your fellow diners... a process copied by Wildflower Bread in Phoenix and soon to be copied by Paradise Bakery.

Love the Betty's Brie. Roast beef, chunks of creamy Brie, mayo on a French baguette. It's my favorite. Service was good. I prefer the Campbell location, it's bigger and the service line is set up better.

Their new meatball sandwich is REALLY good! Love that the roll is soft enough to bite through and the marinara sauce they use is very flavorful, highly recommend it!

Bad bread can ruin a good sandwich. This place bakes excellent bread that is the foundation to their excellent sandwiches. Lots of choices too! Plenty of places to sit. Very family friendly. If you are hungry get a whole sandwich. They also make their own chips. Yum.

Eh, looked like Panera. We came for one purpose, some bread, unfortunately they only make certain breads on certain days. Uh, ok. Maybe we'll come back for a sandwich as everyone says they are to die for, but a noisy wide open chaotic mess is not really our scene.

What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said? Every year when I my friend and I come to Tucson for our own personal homecoming of sorts, we come to Beyond Bread multiple times during the 4 day stay. It's usually always for lunch on the first day and lunch on the way to the airport. My personal favorites are always Stan's Stack or Avi's Avo on any variety of their fresh soft breads. One thing to be said about this location vs the one on Campbell, it's a lot more subdued with a more mature crowd and doesn't feel like a frat party which is a huge plus for me.

I have to say that Beyond Bread is a wonderful experience. I had tried the one on speedway blvd. and was pleased. This one is telling me to come back, come often, and enjoy Beyond Bread. The one on Speedway is the main backing facility and the others are satellites that have the bread and goodies trucked to them. Today we split a sandwich (plenty for us) and enjoyed everything about it. The bread, the turkey, the vegetables and all! I will be having lunch here again when I am next in Tucson. There seem to be a lot of tables and it may look like 'oh my the wait?' however it is so easy, prompt and amazing. I will return!

Haven't been back for about a year or so and got sandwiches to go for several years from these guys on Ina and it was our fav, but then they one day( our last ) my wife gets home with 2 to go Rubens and what a shock, they decide to discontinue wrapping the sandwiches in the keep warm foil and just plop them in a box so they could fall apart on the way home on top of getting cold and the actual sandwiches tasted like they were grilled on a nasty grill. Oh but if you were to have been sitting in on the cost cutting meeting they all had, you could have heard the part where they decided to just plop the sandwich in a huge box with no wrap unless requested, Duhh why do we need to request a common sense process we paid for up front. *update, emailed same location a month ago to see if they came to their senses about making sure a paid for sandwich for a to go order is prepped to satisfy like they did for years before, nope, same ol same ol, what's the big deal with a sandwich in a big ol box, but hey if you request it held together so you can actually enjoy it in one piece at home request that extra step when you order. Oh well we tried-- not going back ever I guess, and nothing personal, but if I came home with my egees sandwich just flopped in a box loose-- guess what-- same result-- we wouldn't go back. Those foil wraps must of been made of gold for you to forgo them or any other wrap for that matter, yuk just loose in a box-- come on man

Bart's Bag is my personal favorite. There is this tasty sauce that they use in this sandwich that makes me an addict. I am so sad that I moved away from Tucson but every trip I make it a point to stop by. Great experience every time!!!

The place: HUGE. Lots of tables. Why'd you buy so much space? The espresso: not bad... kinda surprised, actually. The canoli: pretty much frozen. WTF. Would I come here again? Sure, if I need a quick sugar fix. Would it be my go-to coffee shop? No.

Keeping my review short for this awesome lunch option. Always solid, you get a great lunch for a very fair price, and their breads are just incredibly delicious. Love the spicy turkey salad sandwich. Simple and good sandwiches for an easy lunch option.

I don't get it. Maybe I just order the wrong items but in my two visits I have been sorely disappointed. My first was a sandwich that was far too dry and lacked any flavor and had me leaving with half a sandwich on my plate. The second visit was for breakfast and had a bacon and egg sandwich. Again it is just a mediocre sandwich at best and again I left most of the sandwich behind. I hardly ever leave food behind.

A must visit when you hit Tucson. Atmosphere is a little crazy, but the staff is extremely nice and helpful. Joel's Jolt is my favorite thing on the menu, but you really can't go wrong. We even buy the sourdough bread bowls to take home and use with homemade chili.

I dont know why I just can't get on board with Beyond Bread. I know its a Tucson Favorite but everytime I go there, I feel overwhelmed by the crowd of people, the gigantic portion of food and the mostly unhelpful staff. Even when I get a half order I tend to feel a little queezy afterwards. This place does have excellent bread, and the concept of a bakery is super cool, but I think this place has just gotten too big for what it was meant to be. In the future, I think I will skip the sandwich and just order a loaf to take home and share with my friends.

If you are looking for an Italian Grinder, go elsewhere as this is not the place. I ordered the Gino's Grinder to split. Neither my wife or I liked it. The roasted red peppers or whatever they call them I think was the culprit but the deal killer was a baquette that was so hard we couldn't chew any of the crust. I have noticed this problem in the past on a Club sandwich we had years ago. Just not my sando place.

  • Vanessa S.

This was my first and last visit. I ordered the Italian Enzo sandwich which you can't get just half. I'm not a picky complaining type of person but for $10 I expect it to be at least better than Subway. It was the most pathetic sandwich I've ever seen, looked like a five year old made it. Hardly any meat and the ingredients were just thrown on bread that was hard. I was blown away, expected a little better. Handed it back to cashier and left. Will never go there again. Panera and subway are waaaaay better.

I've never been disappointed, and I've been to 3 different locations. Pauly's Pesto is my favorite, and I usually go in just for that. I've never experienced bad customer service, and the bread to munch on while waiting is always delicious. I've tried a few desserts and again, no complaints. People that are complaining about crusty bread obviously can't read. They mention on their menu if the bread is not fit for sensitive mouths/teeth.

I haven't had Beyond Bread in such a long time! Ordered one of my favorites: Brad's Beef with Angus roast beef, roasted green chilies, thin slices of red onion, cheese smothered in White Russian sauce on white bread. All of it tasted just how I had it the first time, next time, next time and the countless times I go there. It came with their kettle chips. Can't go without a dessert: lemon bar. Tartness to leave a cute sour face! ;) I was tempted to get the magic bar but leveled with myself to retain from more sweets. Although, one of my fave desserts is the creme brûlée. I regret not getting it. That just means I have to go back to Tucson!!

We ordered a bacon tomato omelet, egg sandwich, chocolate tart, and creme brulee. The service was fast and friendly and the food was very good! We were distracted by the beautiful pastry display. Big portions for the price.

Love Beyond Bread because they are focused on doing it right, fresh, & local. Their duos are the greatest for lunch who doesn't like soup and a sandwich. Their green chilie chowder is heavenly on a cool day. Best part is the family friendly atmosphere, having lots of high chairs is a plus in my book!

I was already a fan of Beyond Bread's sandwiches. However, I had never tried their breakfasts. Gary (one of our "dining trio" that often includes my mother) and I were wondering what to do for breakfast. We decided to give Beyond Bread a shot, not expecting more than some pastries and some bread-y items. Were we wrong! We walked in, observing a full house of happily eating, noisy diners! They have a great breakfast menu, with egg sandwiches and about 5-6 choices of what else goes into 'em, plus omelettes, plus pastries...etc. A tough but yummy decision. Gary and I both opted for different egg sandwiches for around $6.25. What a GREAT choice! He got a ham, cheese, egg and some other goodies sandwich while mine had bacon, cheese, egg, tomato and love in it. The most outstanding feature was the perfectly chewy texture of the slightly toasted bread. It was like...melt in your mouth terrific! And you get a fair share of food, too. On top of that, you get to choose from a few sides. I chose the potato pancakes (two good-sized ones accompanied the entree sandwich). I only wish they had some sour cream and apple sauce (traditional latkes Jewish style, ha ha) to put on it. I'm sure I could have asked but I was so full as it was. We also ordered a sandwich to go. Everything was SO good. And what value! I had to take half the egg sandwich home, to enjoy for the next repast. I can't say the same about Gary's meal. His was inhaled, man-style. Good sign of how much he enjoyed his breakfast. I've never thought of BB for breakfast, but you better believe I'll be back soon! It was a fun, upbeat, and delicious experience!

Had lunch here. The food was great. Huge portions for very reasonable prices. It was extremely busy and hectic though. So much that I will not revisit during lunch time again. We sat on the patio and it was very crowded. Kept bumping chairs with the people at tables behind and next to us. And the wall our table was against had ants.

  • Gina S.

I love this place! There sandwiches are really tasty good. I usually get the Chad's Choice, which is not on the official menu anymore. I hope they don't discontinue it! My only complaint is that after cooking a lot of their sandwiches, they end up extremely hard and toasty on the edges. I have to ask specifically for them to not cook it so long. This is a great place to come and have lunch and read or talk with friends:)

    (5)
  • David C.

The place is ok, but not exceptional. If you like things big you will probably love it - feels like a big box store, serves huge sandwiches. If you like the atmosphere and food of a high-end coffee and sandwich place you may want to look elsewhere. But they are very friendly and the sandwiches are tasty.

I think I over excited myself for this place. My friends raved about beyond bread, and insisted I try it. Since I'm in Tucson about once a month, I figured I would try it on my next drive down. I didn't know what to expect going in, maybe glowing gates or an angels choir by the way my friends spoke of the facility. What I got, was a crowded, loud restaurant. Upon first coming in, people were standing around so it was unclear where to go at first. Finally a gal at the front counter called us over. She seemed really out of it though. We sat on the *outside area* because it was a less noisy, but it seemed dirty. The floor on the inside had food on the floors, the soda/tea station was really a mess as well. We had to wipe our own table when sitting. I ordered the avie avo, which was pretty tasty. I'm not sure if it was anything super special, but it definitely hit the spot. I'm giving three stars based on the condition of the restaurant. If it had been cleaner and more of a clear system for ordering, it would be a lot better.

Don't get the Hype at all. The Bread is too hard to enjoy the sandwich. Both myself and my girlfriend had the roof of our mouth destroyed with every bite. To me it was like an overpriced Panera bread. They had some cool stuff on the extremely busy menu, but it was a "hospital cafeteria" experience to me, and the windows in the outdoor area wereclosed on a 75 degree day. Luckily there are better options.

What's not to like? The food was awesome!! I can't wait to eat here again! The pretzel bun was delicious! The portions were big and generous. The prices were fair and all the baked goods looked amazing!

Best sandwiches ever! Although I haven't tried them, their desserts look so delish as well. Their incredible bread is what really does it. Fast service, great food, what else can you ask for?

Incredible food, sandwiches, bread, desserts. My favorite is Bart's bag sandwich and a soft pretzel. Bart's Bag. Turkey, brie, lettuce, tomato, red onion, honey ... $5.50. $8.75 They have many locations and everyone of them has nice, friendly service and incredible tasting food with great consistency and quality. Easy parking. One of my favorite places to eat when I visit Tucson. I wish they had one in San Diego.

Beyond Bread has good sandwiches, generally, but the service at this location is not so bueno. Yesterday ordered food for 5, 1 bland turkey sandwich, 3 green chili corn soups, 3 side salads, and one Angus Management Salad. While the soups and steak salad were great, the turkey sandwich, Curt's Club, lacked any flavor. A slight hint of soggy bacon was all I could identify on the sandwich. However, the store forgot to include one soup and salad combo that we paid. Unfortunately, our drive took 20 minutes, and by the time we arrived at our destination and discovered the mistake, we were too far away to do anything about the error.

I really felt awkward at first coming in here - it was like grand central station inside. I wasn't quite sure what to do. I managed to figure it out quickly though, and I found my way through the bustling herd of customers shuffling around looking for a table or getting drinks or whatever they were doing to the cashier to place my order. I was sort of having a low blood sugar moment, so my brain wasn't processing the menu - I asked him if I could just get a turkey sandwich. Then he asked me 20 questions which I did my best to answer. He handed me a number and some chips and a cup and sent me on my way... I joined the herd and found a table and got my drink and started snacking on my chips They were almost gone before my sandwich arrived. My sandwich was delicious, but a little dry (I guess that's kinda my fault because I don't like mayo on sandwiches, but the pesto they put on it wasn't enough to overcome the dryness of the turkey). It was flavorful and the bread was tasty. I wish there was one in Phoenix. I would eat there a bunch.

I use to work here back in high school for 3 years, loved it then still love it now... sandwiches are amazing salads are delicious and their pastries are to die for... Also their coffee is really good... If you want good sandwiches hot or cold this is the place to go...

Nothing beats a sourdough bread bowl and soup! These guys have amazing sandwiches too though. I like Charlie's chicken for a hot sandwich and Rex's revenge as a cold sandwich. I am never disappointed when I go to Beyond Bread! Also the challah bread that is only available on Fridays makes excellent French toast.

Bart's Bag - the sandwich I compare all other sandwiches to. It's turkey, brie, lettuce, green onion and honey mustard on a baguette, a fine combination. I've been a loyal fan since Beyond Bread first opened on the east side and its great that they have this location, makes it very easy to stop in and grab a sandwich each time I'm in Tucson.

I am NEVER disappointed! I love the busy feeling of this place! It's always busy and I don't feel rushed to place my order...which is a good thing because their menu is GINORMOUS...and I don't only mean options I mean...the menu is like literally huge! hehehe I hate that I have to wait to try my next tasty piece of Beyond Bread until I go to Tucson, but it's well worth the wait. It's one of those places that regardless of what you order, you are never let down. My most recent visit, I had the Chicken, Artichoke, and Pesto sandwich! OMG. That's all I'm going to say! Hmmm...I feel a road trip coming on! I really want to try a salad! Who wants to head to Tucson?

Sandwich heaven and more! Beyond Bread has been a favorite of mine for years. All the breads, the delicious meats and cheeses, the creative combinations! I have recently discovered breakfast at this lunch hold-fast. Oh boy: Nice big portions, enough fun choices to keep me coming back, and what a nice morning crew! Every order feels like a treat because of the care that goes into the preparation. These people think about food, and it shows. Breakfast or lunch, I will soon be back.

Fast friendly service. The food always tastes fantastic and fresh. My faves are the brads beef and the Pauly's pesto. The pastries always look delish but I never have room for dessert cuz the portions are so large.

The soup-Green Chile Chowder, was amazing! I loved it! I wish they had one of their locations in Phoenix! I had a sandwich but was not in love with it as much as the soup! I also got dessert to go, carrot cake and the frosting and big plump raisins in the moist cake were amazing! I must come back when I am in town!

I've been working in this part of town for two years now, and I had to check it out when Beyond Bread moved into the old Block Buster building. I'm glad I did. I've stopped by a few times for lunch, and tried something different each time. Beyond Bread really goes beyond your typical sandwich offerings. The menu is broken into several categories, which at first can be a little overwhelming. I like to think of their menu in three easy sections: hot and cold sandwiches, salads, and soups. I've had quite a few things from their menu, but I'll mention my single most standout entry from each category. Sandwich Brad's Beef is a delicious blend of roast beef, provolone, and green chiles, under a Russian style dressing. I cannot say enough amazing things about this masterpiece of a sandwich. It comes on white, but I think it fairs a little better on wheat. You gotta try this one out. Salad Larry, Moe & Curry is very tasty. Think curry flavored chicken salad, with toasted almonds, cucumber, tomato, red onion, and mixed greens. It's so good I don't even use the vinaigrette dressing that comes on the side. It is very filling, and comes with a side of garlic crostini. Soup Chicken Tortilla is very good. It is thick, creamy, and hearty. Everything you would expect from this sort of thing. Within the soup is a mixture of chicken, corn, onions, carrots, pablano peppers, garlic, and delicious corn tortillas. It goes so well with their bread bowls too! It turns it into a rich chicken and dumplings hybrid. They also have a bakery, at which any of their customers can purchase some of the best and freshest made breads in town. Just checking out the variety of bread loaves they offer will make you want to try something. If you don't get ideas looking through their bakery section, then you don't feel very comfortable in the kitchen. Beyond Bread also offers free bread slices for you to munch on while waiting on your food. Not only is the food good, but this place is huge! They have a large indoor area, with giant windows which let in lots of natural light. They also have a covered outdoor seating area off to the east side of the main dinning area, and free wi fi throughout the premise. Beyond Bread is so much more than a typical sandwich shop. While this location is my favorite, it is definitely worth checking out any of their other locations.

My family and I started eating at Beyond Bread when I first attended UofA in '98. It has to say something that 14 years later (eek!), we hit up Beyond Bread every. single. time. we're in Tucson. It's understood amongst my parents and sister that if any one of us is in Tucson or will be passing by on the I-10, they must call to obtain our bread order. Since we always stop at Beyond Bread right before heading home, this newer location at Ina and Oracle is our default. So I obviously I think the bread is amazing. I have at least a couple loaves in my freezer at all times. I buy it sliced, keep it in zip-loc freezer bags, and pop it in the toaster or microwave as needed. I love trying out the special flavors of the day, but my go-to loaf is the multigrain. My dad lives for their rustic loaf, and my husband must always have the garlic italian for his sandwiches. If it's available, get the ancho chile loaf. It's tastes like a spicy cheez-it and goes great with avocado. Beyond Bread also has the best whole wheat pitas I've ever tasted. I'm so glad they finally started selling them direct. And unlike the pita bread at Trader Joe's, it can sit on the counter a few days without going moldy. Finally, let's discuss their banana bread. No other banana bread even comes close to their heavenly loaf. It's loaded with chunks of cream cheese (I don't know how they manage to bake those in without the cream cheese melting) and chocolate chips, and it's topped with an awesome cinnamon streusel. Every cliche about amazing food fits the description of their banana bread. If you don't like it, you're either allergic to bananas or too joyless to live (I stole that from Frank Bruni).

I'm not really sure why I don't like this place more. They have good food and great desserts. But I think there are a few very similar restaurants that do it better.

I love the Bart's Bag but I sub turkey for avocado. Very filling sandwiches, I only ever get a 1/2 sandwich. A decent about of vegetarian options here, which is nice. I also like the kettle chips. Location can get a bit busy around lunch time, but other then that it is nice to sit on the side patio.

I was craving a corned beef sandwich and I wanted to find a place that's new that my family and I haven't tried yet so we decided to come here for dinner. There wasn't a lot of people and it made me hesitant to even go in but I was wrong. I ordered the Ruby's Reuben which is the corned beef sandwich on rye bread. The amount of each was PERFECT. The corned beef was nice and warm. They only give it whole so I ended up sharing it because I thought it would be too much but I regret even sharing it because it was SO good. I ended up coming here again the next day for lunch and it was packed. I ordered the same sandwich but it looked a little messier than the day before and they toasted the bread which I didn't mind. I still like it. I also had the Tiramisu cake, which was dry and it felt like it was left out too long. It was large enough to share for 3 people as a dessert. I also tried their Clam Chowder. I didn't care for it much. It's not as flavorful and a bowl of it was too small. The cashiers and people serving the food were nice. There's lots of seating but it seems like there's not enough during lunch time because everyone comes here to eat. Just because of the sandwich, I would definitely come back here again.

Love, Love, Love Beyond Bread! This is one of my favorite restaurants in the whole world. As someone who would rather have a great sandwich than a filet, I am always looking for places who can make an incredible sandwich and this is one of those places. They have the best breads available nice and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside freshly made each day. The baguette reminds me of France, walking down the Rue de blah blah while eating fresh hot bread. Their meats are high-quality and tasty and there is a nice variety to choose from. The vegetables are crisp and fresh. Their pretzels are amazing espeically with the honey mustard. I recently moved out of the city and I miss you tons Beyond Bread!!

Rarely do I ever wish that a restaurant in Tucson also had a location in the Chicago area. This is one of those rare moments. Sandwiches made on very original types of bread that taste outstanding. Fairly priced and delivered to your table within five minutes. Went to Beyond Bread twice during a recent visit to AZ and had good experiences on each visit. Just wish I was there longer to try out more sandwiches - most all of them looked great!

I really enjoyed the chicken pesto sandwich I had here. I can't say much for the service, since I had take out. I do think the employees could be a bit more friendly. I have noticed in a few of the Beyond Bread locations, the employees don't seem too happy to be working at all.

I go into Beyond Bread almost every Monday to meet with a friend of mine. It is a convenient place to meet, as it is close to my friend's(mentor's) house. We talk for an hour and he usually buys a drink and I don't usually buy anything, not because the food is not good, but because I am poor. I do sample their bread, for free, and the staff has never hassled me about not buying anything. Their bread is really good, as well their soups. I highly recommend it as a great place to meet a friend and have some good food. Dave H.

I went to this Beyond Bread location for the first time recently and was not disappointed. The building used to be a Blockbuster, so there is plenty of space, but now there is nice flooring. I got breakfast for the first time, and I have to say, the breakfast sandwich was amazing! I got "Santiago's Sonoran" which is ham, egg, provolone and green chile. The breakfast sandwich also comes with potato pancakes which are great. Plus, this is all for under 6 bucks! In short, Beyond Bread continues to deliver great food that would impress anyone from anywhere.

Nice environment but the food is a bit pedestrian. Some of the folks in our group said the french bread their sandwiches were on were so rough that it made their teeth bleed. Macaroni and cheese is simply not good. Grilled cheese was oh kay. I think Paradise Cafe is quite a bit better & worth the slightly higher price.

Yea! (I'm jumping up and down) Wow! (I'm jumping up and down) Yahoo! (I'm jumping up and down) The new Beyond Bread on the northwest side of town is open! You cannot be helped but be impressed with the open space, light colors and the huge windows. Generously padded seating and lots of tables greet you. There's a community table (bar height) that seats 12 people in the middle of the space. There's a inviting semi-enclosed patio area that has plentiful seating. Obviously the menu is the same as the other two locations, undoubtedly of the same quality. This day I had breakfast - a BCT (bacon, cheese, tomato) omelet with roasted red potatoes and sourdough toast - no surprises, it was cooked to perfection and delivered in a timely manner. For those not familiar with Beyond Bread, it's a bakery, sandwich and coffee restaurant. The baked items include a plethora of breads, cupcakes, cookies, danish, and cakes; probably a thousand sandwiches (not really, but a deep lineup), salads, and soups. There's a limited breakfast menu consisting of omelets and breakfast sandwiches. It's casual dining, which means you order at the register and main items are delivered to your table after preparation. I don't usually give out five stars upon an opening and until I've had several opportunities to visit a venue. But this is Beyond Bread. It has set the bar in Tucson for restaurants of this nature, and their new location is no exception. It's obvious that the staff here has been well trained, there seems to be good management oversight here this morning, and food was presented with the same care I've come to expect at the other locations. This is a welcome addition to the northwest side of Tucson.

This is my go-to spot whenever I want a nice lunch. The bread is extremely good, which is made on-site every day, and you can always count on friendly service. While I think all of their Tucson locations are excellent, I work near the one on Ina Rd. and love the outdoor seating arena. A beautiful Tucson day with a big sandwich is hard to beat. Favorite sandwiches? I'm a fan of Molly's Crisis - Big cuts of turkey, hummus and fresh veggies all on rustic bread. And if you like dessert, you have to try their cheesecake brownies or lemon squares.

This was the first time I've been to this chain (not just the location but ever) and honestly I was just really frustrated with my dining options that day. I needed something relatively fast in that shopping complex that wasn't pricey for lunch, e.g. "Whole Paycheck" and wasn't Mexican. I know, I know I live in Tucson, AZ and some people just don't understand that sometimes THIS girl doesn't want a burrito or a taco regardless of just how cheap or filling it is. So anyway, on with my review. J and I walked in and we went up to the menu figured out we weren't going to be eating anything that was really acceptable on our new diet (willpower is overrated anyhow) and just ordered what looked good. J attempted to be "healthier" and got a soup and salad (chili and a house salad with honey mustard). It came with a bread, J chose jalapeno and cheese bread. The chili was standard, nothing amazing. The salad was a good portion with nice fresh veggies. The dressing was definitely heavy on the honey but overall not a bad choice. He wished the bread had been warmed or toasted but said it still tasted great on its own. I ordered the classic mac'n'cheese w/ a side salad thinking that would clear my conscience. When the food came out, my conscience didn' t.even.care . The mac n' cheese was DEEleash-us. On top there was parmesan cooked onto the pasta. Nice and cheesy not overdone. The garlic bread that came with it was just awesome. Nice and crunchy, J was pretty jealous when I first bit into it and I made it a point to mention how toasted and warm it was ;) (as he ate his cold bread). All in all, it was a pretty good meal. There are a lot of rotating options on the menu such as the daily specials like the chili and different breads baked daily. We plan on coming back to try more things on the menu.

Are you a fan of sandwiches? WAIT...before you answer that...are YOU a fan of deliciousness? if you are...this is the place to go!! Brad's Beef, is my favorite! You get yourself some roast beef, green pepper, red onions, and russian dressing! Yum!! There are plenty of breads to choose from! Some of their bread is hard and makes your sandwich really unsatisfying. It's not hard because it is old, but hard because its how the bread is baked. While ordering you can always ask the cashier what kind of bread "they" would eat it on...then its a safe bet you wont end up with a rock hard bread sandwiching your food. They have a complimentary bread bowl you can pick at while you're waiting for you food. If sandwiches are not your thing, they also offer salads, soup, bread soup bowls, and desserts/pastries!! They also offer breakfast, I haven't been able to try their breakfast yet, but everyone raves how good it is! Will have to try it next time around! If you're not a fan of sandwiches, this place will make you into a fan of them!

I'm a huge fan of Beyond Bread and the NW location is great! My team and I stopped in for a late breakfast after a bike ride on July 4th. I was pleasantly surprised that they were open on a holiday. So why three stars? Two of my teammates ordered the Challah french toast and we were all sitting waiting for our food when a staff member came out and informed them that they were out of Challah bread. Mildly irritating, given that they were forced to choose a replacement bread for the french toast or an entirely new meal right there on the spot. Otherwise, the food was great and the coffee was delicious and it's nice that their large patio can accommodate a large and smelly group like my team.

I love love Beyond Bread! My only complaint is that they are not in Phoenix, and therefore it is a once in a while treat when I visit Tucson. Beyond Bread really has there act together, it is easy to order, there is never much of a wait even when it is packed! Of course the food is great, but oh man the bread is the BEST! I got the Maddy's Madness, which was packed full of chicken, bacon, avocado and havarti cheese. The combination was outstanding, but once again the best part was the Mulitgrain bread. I couldn't get enough of the bead! It was so full of grains, I was kinda mad at myself from not buying a loaf to bring back home. Never again! I will make sure to always bring one back from now on! If you are looking for a great, filling and healthy lunch there are many choices at Beyond Bread! Do not let the crowds scare you away! I promise it will be worth the wait!

The tuna salad is really good and the caprese sandwich rocks my world. We also had the cherry cheesecake and that was the BEST! I love this place because no matter how busy they are you still can get in and out pretty quick and the food is always good.

Freshly baked bread samples when you walk in..win. I was intrigued with their menu, as the sandwiches had interesting names and components. I came here early in the morning and got their green eggs and ham omelette. Good amount of food, came with toast and potatoes. Their chocolate croissant was delicious and they ain't joking about the amount of chocolate in it! Was a little disappointed that they somehow messed up my order, both coffee drink and plate and how slow the services was when when there was no one else there. Despite that, would love to come back and try other things on their menu next time I'm in Tucson.

I am a huge fan of Beyond Bread, and feel they should expand beyond Tucson. I usually order either a Betty's Brie or the Tomato Basil Soup, which are my favorites. I have eaten here a couple dozen times, and have never had a friend not like their food. The only complaint anyone ever had was that the bread was too hard. However, they warn you about this on the menu, so simply ask for a softer substitute if you have sensitive teeth. Also, I enjoy the added space at this location, with a covered and slightly cooler outside area compared to the Campbell location.

So glad to have a Beyond Bread in my neighborhood! Although I was sad to see my childhood Blockbuster go this was the next best (probably better) thing. My favorite sandwich is only around once a week, Wednesday's Pepperoni Pretzel Sandwich. To die for. If I'm not feeling as indulgent I'd opt for an Avi's Avo or Molly's Crisis. This past summer I lived in Phoenix and I could not find a single place that filled the whole in my heart that longed for Beyond Bread. I'd love to see them expand, that may be purely selfish but I see no way they couldn't succeed.

Beyond Bread! For Breakfast! I was happy to see the new Beyond Bread "seemingly pop up" on the corner of Oracle and Ina Road, and equally pleased that they had some delicious breakfast options for those rare occasions that I'm not making breakfast at home. I always thought of BB as a great place for delicious sandwiches and wide variety of freshly baked breads, however my family recently discovered that Beyond Bread is also a pretty good choice for breakfast as well. Breakfast is served until 10am Monday-Friday, and until 11am on Saturday & Sunday. So, if you ask my 7 year old, topping her list of favorites, is Cindy's Raisin Challah French Toast. She says the toast has a nice crisp "outside" and soft sweet raisin flavor "inside", I say, the portion is HUGE and she typically has more than enough left over for a snack later in the day. My 10 year old', whose palate is a bit more refined, typically opts for the Good Morning Denver, a yummy omelet with ham, red onion, roasted red peppers and Swiss cheese, or the Breakfast Bruschetta with tomato, fresh basil, and Parmesan. I am also a fan of the Good Morning Denver Omelet, the veggies and ham are proportioned nicely and the eggs nice and fluffy, and for a lighter and cheaper option, Otis's Oatmeal is a great choice as well. On the sandwich spectrum, our favorites are too many to mention but topping the list are Ashlee's Albacore, Betty's Brie and Pablo's Pavo. So, all in all, my family is definitely a BB fan, and we feel comfortable recommending this location for their sandwiches and definitely breakfast!

With the cold weather, I've recently fallen in love with BB's soups in the bread bowl. It doesn't matter what they have to offer, it's always delicious and the bread is pure perfection. Part of my favorite thing about eating at BB is the free bread and butter station. I cannot say no to the stupid stuff. I have a serious love/hate relationship with bread and it's hard not to when it tastes this good!!

i can't believe i paid $7.25 for a turkey sandwich. i thought those prices were reserved for deli & bread on kauai. the location on ina road seemed really busy, even for 8:30 in the morning. i was surprised. they had a lot of pastries and breakfast things. i wasn't sure if i could order lunch until i got up to the counter. the guy behind the counter was really nice. he helped me select my sandwich... the bread, cheese and meat. i might go back if i'm in a pinch and forget to make my lunch...but for the price, i'd rather bring my own sandwich.

Originally found the Campbell location. But then they opened a location at Oracle and Ina. Oh Happy Day! Beyond Bread is so great, I'm salivating as I write this. The bread is wonderful. The baked goods exquisite. The sandwiches are to die for. I usually get the Betty's Brie.

Seriously love the Beyond Bread! Favorite sandwich is the Annie's Addiction on multigrain to split. It's a sandwich piled high (HIGH) with flavorful hummus, sprouts, tomatoes, and red onions. Oh and the Maya's Market is not to be missed, either! I've recently imposed an eating disorder on myself in which I don't eat bread. It's very sad, especially when it means I don't eat Beyond Bread bread. Even without their multigrain though, I'm still loving their Chicken Salad. The only problems with the salad are that it doesn't automatically come with romaine lettuce and that no one seems to get what plain balsamic vinegar is - they always give me balsamic vinaigrette dressing....hrrrmph. I should also say that I cook at home a lot, so whipping up my version of Beyond Bread meals would be no problemo. I keep going back though, because they just do it so well that it's north worth my effort.

We love visiting BB each time we come to Tucson and this new location doesn't disappoint! We love the "patio area" (enclosed but huge swing open windows!) and the food is just as good! Their creme brule is very tasty, quality food and a very good mix of patrons. The pretzel is so good I take one for the road home to PHX!

Beyond Bread has great sandwiches and is so fast(no matter how busy they are). They have some of the best bread in Tucson and they have a huge basket of assorted breads with butter while you wait in line to place your order. Every item I have tried on their menu has been excellent. It is always busy around lunchtime but they are so quick that it doesn't even bother you.

Beyond Bread, Beyond Amazing! This place never disappoints. With amazing sandwiches (I love Fran's Fromage), pastries, and sides (go for the pasta salad), Beyond Bread is great for many different occasions. I have eaten in dozens of time, taken food to go, and even had it catered. My recent discovery is the breakfast menu, which is a must try! My boyfriend and I shared the french toast and the Bruschetta omelette with a side of red potatoes and their amazingly fresh bread. Don't waste another day without Beyond Bread!

This time around, I went to Beyond Bread with a group that I organize. First we sat in the covered outdoor section. It was a little loud because of the biking group, but if they had not been there it would have been a perfect spot for a meeting. We moved inside where it was cooler and quieter. Very nice. I still prefer getting up to throw my own stuff away, which I did. Coffee was good, and the blueberry muffin was good, also.

A Tucson icon! The best sandwiches you will ever eat. You'll pay a buck more but you won't think about it after your first bite. BB is superior to Baggins which is almost the same in price.

I did not expect to find such a place in Tucson. The bread selection is exquisite and right on par with with any bakery I have ever sampled. The Fresh baked bread with crisp, fresh vegetable really make the difference. It was easy to see why this place is so popular, the environment is upbeat and clean, the food and service are excellent. I recommend the "Bart's Bag" sandwich to those seeking an excellent traditional style sub sandwich and I also thoroughly enjoyed "Pauly's Pesto" with a crisp, lightly toasted crust and a pesto sauce combined with artichoke hearts to give it a robust flavor, perfectly accompanying the light roll. Bravo!

I'm from the Midwest and sincerely miss Panera :( I was hoping that Beyond Bread could satisfy the emptiness in my heart due Panera's absence in Arizona. I must admit-- BB did not fulfill my heart's emptiness and in fact, mad my desire for Panera stronger. I had high hopes for BB since the website says that the owner is from my homeland (Wisconsin). The new BB on Ina Rd. is shiny, clean, and fresh. The staff is extremely upbeat and friendly. However, I wasn't blown away by the bread. I mean, I found both the bread samples and the bread with my meal to be a little dry and bland. I personally believe that the best deal on the menu is the soup and salad combo. It contains a cup of soup, a generous side salad, and two slices of your choice of bread. The bread did not come with butter, and as I mentioned earlier, I found it to be a little dry. Luckily I had enough beef barley soup to to use as a dip for the bread. Each day a new soup is offered. I've had the tomato basil and beef barley. The soups are quite thick and filling. Expect to spend about $9 on lunch or dinner here if you order a drink with a sandwich/salad/combo. Overall, the bread is average but the salads, homemade dressings, delectable desserts, general atmosphere, and hearty soups make this place a-ok.

Now this place took me by pleasant surprise. Nice atmosphere, lots of bread. The sugar treats looked good too, but we were after hot sandwiches, which we got. I had one with mounds of pepperoni and red peppers. It was excellent. The place appeals to the 30s crowd. Friendly wait staff. This one is worthy of a return visit.

The place is ok, but not exceptional. If you like things big you will probably love it - feels like a big box store, serves huge sandwiches. If you like the atmosphere and food of a high-end coffee and sandwich place you may want to look elsewhere. But they are very friendly and the sandwiches are tasty.

Dave H.

Bravo!

One of the things I miss the most about Tucson.... Avies Avo! I have grown up with Beyond Bread and just love everything about it. Simply good sandwiches. What more is there to say!?

This is a must do if you enjoy good sandwiches. There is something for everyone. Since there are so many choices, split two different sandwiches with a friend.

Good food, good prices! We came here for the first time earlier this week with two friends and liked it so much we went to another Beyond Bread location the next day.

Great sandwiches and a large selection of choices! Their bakery is awesome, delicious sweet treats! Avoid this place during the weekday lunch time rush though because it is ALWAYS packed.

This is a good Tucson-staple. It is a crowd - pleaser for most. There staff is always efficient and friendly. A lot of young kids, which is nice it gives them a place to work. The sandwiches have great names and really unique flavor combinations! They also have great salads and a soup of the day in a delicious bread bown. The portions are massive and a good deal for a big lunch! Sometimes the bread can be a little hard to the tooth, so if you have braces or sensitive teeth, this may not be your place! This is a must for locals and visitors alike!
