This was our second visit to Acacia, and overall, the time spent was still mixed. Here are both sides- Pros: they take reservations and were very accommodating by letting our party of 5 sit in the bar for happy hour. The views of Tucson at night from acacia are awesome! The beers on tap are a great selection, and even though it's not a huge number of craft brews, they've chosen some really good ones. (Dragoon ipa, deschutes, 312 goose island, etc) Cons: the food. Both times we've been here, the food has been mediocre and unmemorable. This time we had the hummus and dumpling small plates, which sounded delicious, but left something to be desired. Also, the staff member who kept coming by with water consistently filled the glasses with ice instead of water. It was a little odd. The press around this restaurant makes it seem like the food here would be so unique and fun, but we are always a little disappointed with that aspect.

I went back after a year or so, had a wonderful time with friends, best view in Tucson, and the food was excellent , I had a braised pork with pozole, in a tangy broth, wow!!. One of my friends had salmon, excellent , and the bar looked like it had been remodeled , very Artdeco sheik , great selection of drinks and a window view, loved it.

Acacia is a pleasant place to go for drinks, dessert, and desert views. Shows how much I learned in alliteration day during middle school grammar class. I like how the menu isn't fussy here. There's a focus on food and execution. Acacia is consistently a top suggestion when my slightly adventurous friends want food they can recognize on the menu but with more of a culinary flair than the local corner restaurant. Rich's recommendation: drinks, dessert, desert views.

Visiting Tucson over the holidays and Acacia was recommended by a few locals. Very glad we tried this spot because it featured really interesting menu items. Favorite dishs: Butternut Squash Soup with Marshmallow on top and Chicken Havarti Dumplings. Ooooh man, the soup was amazing and was sad there were only 4 dumplings, I would have devoured 10 or more they were that good. I'm giving this place 4 stars because I think it's a little pricey but overall, had a good experience. Next time, I'll make sure to come when it's still light outside to check out the view. It was dark when we were there but I can tell that it would be pretty spectacular.

The service was terrible. They forgot about us and we weren't addressed for over half an hour and then there was barely an apology. When we tried to talk to someone about the service there was no one to be found. Food was okay but I ordered meat and it was well overcooked. Definitely not worth the money it costs. WAY overpriced.

Didn't stay. .but I'm giving it 4 for ambiance. I originally was heading next door but I liked the outside setup. I anticipated a Venice Beach vegan, pink lemonade, clean eating experience. Unfortunately, as wonderful as the menu sounded..it was too heavy for what I planned to eat. We did not stay. I'd love to see this place do a tapas clean dining menu with its venue!

This place had the highest disparity between quality of service and decor to quality of food I've ever experienced. The server was wonderful, the restaurant and view were beautiful, but the food was awful. The chicken and havarti dumplings tasted like the had been from the freezer, the chopped salad looked and tasted like a child made it, the lamb was poor quality meat with terrible sides and the short ribs had a mealy texture with no flavor. We would have sent everything back had our server not been so nice. This place seems to be skating on very thin ice, with a shiny veneer that makes everyone think that it's a fine dining establishment. Like I said before, the service was great but without a little more investment in the menu, this place is a complete ripoff and I imagine that the owners set it up to be exactly that.

Fabulous food and atmosphere! Service is outstanding. I chose the tastings offering and it was more than enough food. Husband had the rib eye which was season well and was very tender.

A bunch of us (9 people) decided to get together at the last minute and celebrate a friend's birthday. The staff at Acacia was incredibly accomodating! They opened up a private room for us and Marty, our server was the best! The lamb chops and duck were big hits as well as the salmon, halibut and garlic chicken. All of the food was fresh and flavorful. Can't wait to go back!!! Excellent customer service AND excellent food!!

Albert Hall -Owner/Executive Chef Albert has been a friend for over 20 years, first met him at Hacienda del Sol. Acacia is a fantastic place that showcases the city of Tucson. The food Albert prepares is over the top. He takes pride in his menu, pride in the food presentation, pride in the quality, pride in the servers who present your selection. Let's support Acacia! We visited for our 8th anniversary in March, and enjoyed a beautifully presented, delicious meal, lovely wine , a gorgeous view, and excellent service. We love that the menu really highlighted local food ingredients, without being heavy handed, or "themed". It was the perfect environment to celebrate. We will be back.

I am on a kick for great food and I hit the target when i came to Acacia. The well situated restaurant sits on Skyline with an impressive view of the city of Tucson. I was running late because the Yelp Directions send you to Broadway and Country Club, ignore that. Anyways we ordered the Calamari which was spiced in an unexpectedly awesome way. Most place just batter and throw garlic and butter but here they added some spiciness to it that made it a joy. We also had the Cheese and Meat Sample which was so good. Goat Cheese with a Fig Spread and thin breads made it so flavorful. For Dinner we had a Chilean Sea Bass which was clean, elegant and served atop a delicious squash or couscous medley, I am not sure but it was amazing. The Duck was also had and its chewing yet succulent meat was cooked perfectly medium rare with a purple potato side that was another flavorgasm. Jesse our server was very helpful and good to us, so i want to thank him for making our dinner choices so well informed. Till we meet again Acacia, Yummm.

I'm picking about food and restaurants. I liked the ambience at Acacia (request a romantic window table). Our waiter was nice, not intuitive like some waiters at nicer restaurants can be, but good enough. I had the duck which was a bit dry, but it was good enough. My bf had the schnitzel which was good, not great. I had a cocktail which was good, not great. Okay, so you get the picture, this place is fine, good enough. For the price it should be much better, but you get a good view. So it's okay (I rated it 3 stars "A-ok") but not great. There have to be better places to eat in Tucson, right? (I don't know since I just moved here).

Excellent food great service just the perfect spot. Worth every penny especially with the cozy ambiance. I had the steak and it was amazing, tender yet juicy and grilled just right.

I came to Acacia tonight for the first time and was impressed. All these years in Tucson and I've never been in that particular building when it was Soleil, Sur Real or any other named restaurant. I was part of a large group of 12 who met for happy hour this evening. I can't say what the others ordered or if they liked their food or not but as for me, I ordered the meat and cheese board appetizer and a glass of beer on tap from Dragoon Brewery. The meat and cheese board contained cured meats and cheeses served on a small cutting board. Its chef's choice and I'm not exactly sure what meats and cheeses were there but I'd say a soft goat cheese, a bleu or gorgonzola and a nice sharper yellow cheese. I wish I knew my cheeses but I don't. All I know is that I love cheese. Thinly sliced salami and prosciutto were piled on the plate along with a black olive tapenade and a few nuts. Large pieces of broken lavosh? (I think) were creatively placed on the board and while very crisp, went nicely with the strong flavors on the board. The beer was delicious and I would have loved to have had another but we called it a night fairly early. I can't remember what it was and Acacia's drink menu isn't online for me to check. I believe it was Dragoon's IPA, hell I don't know. This is a somewhat sucky review since I don't know my cheeses and I don't know my beers, huh? But I know what tastes good! That's got to count for something. I was shocked when my bill arrived and it was $7.25 ~ I call that cheap eats and drink! I loved our waitress. She was very patient and did a great job even if there was a sourpuss in our group. If she should read this, girl, you were calm, cool and collected and thank you for smiling through my crabby friend's rudeness. I plan to come back to Acacia for a real meal and just sit and enjoy the incredible view and ambience.

I went to Acacia for happy hour with a friend. When I arrived there were only a few tables of people in the bar area, but there seemed to only be one waitress taking care of everyone, so service was good but a bit slow. I ordered guacamole and smoked chicken wings to eat. The guacamole was fresh and creamy. The smoked chicken wings were just okay. To drink, I ordered a house margarita, which was a bit heavy on the mix and so a bit too tangy for my taste. On the more positive side, the views from the restaurant are fantastic, and it was nice to watch the sun setting over the course of our time there.

We came here for Happy Hour and it was really good. I cannot comment on the dinners but we were impressed with the offerings during my favorite time of day=happy hour! The decor still has remnants of the previous restaurant (cannot remember the name, Sol...) which I thought was very cool. The waitstaff in the bar were johnny on the spot or should I say jenny on the spot as they were female? Anyway....our drinks were never empty which to us is awesome service. :-) What I also like is their Happy Hour is from 4-7pm - which gives the working people a chance to enjoy and savor rather than gulp quickly to take advantage of cheaper prices. The steamed dumplings....oh my.....DELISH! You. must. try. these. The chips and salsa come with a couple types of salsa and if I remember correctly guacamole too. We also had the fish tacos, beef tacos and the burger and everything was really tasty. We will be back for certain!

Ordered the fish and chips from the lounge menu. The fish batter had the consistency of rubber. It was an obviously frozen product. The chips totally lacked crispness, pretty soggy actually. The best my husband could say about the pastrami sandwich was meh. The lounge dishes have definitely gone downhill. We have been patronizing this restaurant for many years and we are very disappointed to see the quality lacking.

Had the margie pie, it was bland, the tomatoes were undercooked, and cost $15 (with one topping). Ambience was good, staff was nice, my wife liked her dish. Over all, it was a great place until you factor in the prices for what you taste. Would not go back

Acacia has always been a favorite of mine; however, I'd only had their Sunday brunch and lunch prior to last evening's (birthday) dinner. Pacing was good and our meal choices all turned out to be exquisite. The view of Tucson at night made the evening even more special. Looking forward to returning!

Great view, nice happy hour, good service. Always recommend the food. I have never had a bad dish. Posting some pictures of the happy hour items. The scotch eggs with pickled veg was our blind pick and it was great

I went here on a Monday night and ate in the bar area. Service was decent but drinks took forever, appetizer came out after our delayed meal. And the bill was off by the listed happy hour prices. Not a great first experience. Ps. Saw the manager cough into someones food as she was walking to the table. Yuck

I experienced Acacia for the first time last night for a business dinner in their private room. The views at the restaurant are beautiful and I felt the service was good especially since we had a large party. The two star rating comes from the quality of the food. The appetizers were unimpressive and lacked any real flavor. I ordered the roasted chicken with mushroom risotto and vegetables for dinner. Seems like for $24 they should knock that out of the park...well....not so much. The chicken was dry-like bone dry and the garlic cloves that had been part of its roasting were totally burned, black and hard as a rock. The risotto was way over done and the vegetable were super bland. It's hard to mess up chicken but they succeeded. The carrot bisque soup I had to start was delicious though, but I won't be going back for their soup.

The only reason this doesn't get 1 star is because I didn't get sick after eating, and because the General Manager is a great guy and did everything he could to fix the problems. The ambiance, if nothing else, is lovely. They have two private meeting areas, a gorgeous bar, a killer view of the city, and modern décor - even if the little statue/wine holder of the "drunken chef" drinking a bottle of wine is completely out of place. The menu is BORING: there is NO scope or cooking style that they are reaching for in addition to nothing "popping" out at you. Visually, the menu has no graphics to catch your eye, it is just a mundane list of about 20 items on 1 sheet of paper (and for lunch, it is in small print). Our server had bad breath. She had a hard time pouring water and iced tea into glasses without spilling. She brought our entrees when we were not even half way done with our appetizers and then attempted an ill-fated joke by commenting "I don't know if you're slow or if they're fast..." I wanted so eagerly to reply "Or option 3, you're stupid because you don't know how to properly pace a table of 2 people at lunch time IN the slowest season of Tucson." Did I mention we were one of only 5 tables and there were 2 servers? Our server also forgot who ordered what...for 2 people. She also disappeared when it came time to check back for refills. The chicken dumpling appetizer is microwave food - in no way does it taste fresh - and is mushy, more so than a marshmallow. The cheese and meat board was adorable and well priced for what you receive (but it's hard to screw up a plate that requires slicing only). The frittata was decent, though I would hardly say it was creative, and the fresh fruit was, at least, fresh. Avoid the ribs like Typhoid Mary. They are cooked to leather, then drowned in a, dare I say, "barbecue" sauce that more resembles a cocktail sauce, which are then placed on top of limp French fries next to a warm bowl of slaw. The fries can't help but become soaked in the cocktail sauce, and the potatoes are not cleaned before, which is apparent. The slaw is not supposed to be warm, and is overpowering in onion. I can't tell you how much I hate this plate! It is shameful of Albert Hall to even nightmare it into existence. One final note: When you think of the term "Market Price", do you think it should ever apply to a salad? Neither do I, but that is the price of a Crab Louis salad at Acacia. To show his sense of savvy, Albert Hall deemed that the crab indices fluctuate so much on a daily basis (possibly along with the ever growing price of lettuce and tomato) that it is impossible to just say the damn salad costs $15. Oh you funny guy...

We were at Acacia with a group of 30-40 people and the menu had been pre-selected so the only choice was steak or halibut. That said, Acacia did a good job of taking care of ths large group and actually serving the food while it was still hot -- not easy with large groups. My only complaint: dessert took way too long. The locale is lovely. I'd like to go back with two couples and order off the menu.

Really nice Sunday brunch. Great service and solid food. I had the eggs benedict and the dish was executed perfectly. The hash browns were crispy and buttery goodness, the sauce was complementary and not overwhelming. Why is it so tough to pull off a perfect eggs benedict? I will definitely return because it's hard to find somewhere that can do this when I get my craving. Hubby got hot tea that was really good- I need to look up the brand they sell because the plain English breakfast tea was the best I think I've ever had. Something fancy pants in there for sure. There was even an added bonus- banana nut bread while we waited. Yum!

The poor hostess just couldn't get it straight. Seating was a mess. They used to have an amazing tomato basil soup back in the day but that is gone now. The new resto is just not up to par. The food was average, a little cold. I'm hoping they don't rest on their laurels too long.

We dropped in for Sunday Brunch and wished we could have had dinner too. It's a great looking restaurant inside and out. So for food, I had chilaquiles and the wife had the eggs benedict. They really aren't dishes that would give a place the opportunity to wow a patron, nonetheless the food was great. My chilaquiles were solid and stepped up with some great bacon pieces floating at the bottom in the salsa or sauce. Initially I thought our hash browns were undercooked. They did not have much browning on top, but they actually turned out to be crisp and somewhat light... don't know how they did that. Anywho, the eggs on the wife's benedict were cooked perfectly. She also enjoyed the fresh orange juice that wasn't too sweet, and it didn't have the bulk of pulp one often gets with freshly-squeezed OJ. Some tasty high-quality fruit (side dish) was a nice finish to the savory brunch. In the end, the visit was top-notch. The service was excellent and "paced" as one might expect at a nice restaurant where the last thing they want to do is rush people. Afterward, I mentioned to my wife that the brunch reminded me of the Farm at South Mountain in Phoenix, except that we didn't have to wait an hour in the sun, serve ourselves drinks, swat away flies and instead we got to enjoy A/C, a great view, take our time and savor some awesome food that had equally-nice ingredients, and prepared/cooked two stars higher. Oh yeah, and the Acacia brunch was actually a few bucks less expensive.

Lived in Tucson 1 year, tried to go there twice, without success. The first time I went there and they were "Cleaning their oven hoods" on a weekday evening and wouldn't allow us in. I tried to go there today for lunch and they were closed, preparing for Valentines Day dinner. Is it really that hard to keep your restaurant open? I'm not going to even try going there again. There's plenty of better spots in the La Encantada area that are actually open when they advertise they're going to be open. Weak.

Excellent food, service and view. There is a variety of dishes and food is tastefully prepared. The service was excellent. This is a good restaurant for a special occasion. It is a bit formal rather than casual. The filet mignon was prepared as requested and tender. Desserts were very tasty and all food was nicely presented.

Ever since Acacia moved closer to my work area, I've been dieing to try it out. I've only heard great reviews about them. I think Acacia made a very smart move when they took over this location. I've been to the restaurant before the change, the Tucson view is stunning and I just love how they have little private rooms. When I first walked in, i notice that they hadn't change a thing . Nothing that I can notice really, but there was nothing that should be changed. I came here for a meeting during lunch. We were first served with some calamari and dumplings. The calamari was tossed in a spicy sauce that really didnt hit my taste buds and dumplings were mushy. However, I ordered the street tacos, one mahi and one carne. I thought the fish would be deep fried, I dont like grilled fish tacos. They were good nonetheless, fish was fresh. The carne tacos I would definitely get again.

We went there the other day for lunch and were pretty disapointed. Though the decor was inviting and the service was decent, the food was so sub-par it was a little embarrassing. Had our server not been so friendly we would've sent most of food back. One of the reasons we wanted to visit Acacia was to try the Chicken and Havarti dumplings. There may have been some chicken in the dumplings, but there was no measurable cheese anywhere on the plate. Had we been able to locate our waiter we would've asked if there were a menu misprint or what!?! Also had the 3 onion soup.....not too bad actually. The soup was our favorite part of the meal. It was lunch so we had ribs with "hand cut fries" and a chicken sandwich with "beer battered sweet onions". The ribs were pretty bad and the fries on the side were so not hand cut it was ridiculous . Obviously frozen...terrible. The chicken sandwich was not too bad but I was very excited to try the sweet onions in their beer batter! Once again frozen garbage that you'd find at a carnival food truck. I felt so betrayed. If a restaurant chooses to serve frozen nonsense, it would be appreciated if they'd advertise that fact so we could avoid the displeasure. Again, it was a nice spot. Hopefully the next place to occupy to will do it some justice.

A very good meal and great service. The app and desert were both suggested by the bartender and they were exceptional! The main course I chose myself and it was good but not to the same 5 star level. All of the staff was fantastic! The service was at a 5 star + level. Worth the effort to experience this for yourself.

I've to Acacia before for a happy hour. This time a group of my neighborhood ladies were giving a send off party for a neighbor who is moving out of the neighborhood. We were seated in a private room with a huge table that seats about 20. The setting couldn't have been more beautiful. We did have a 15 or 16 of us so the table was wonderful. No one else shared the room so we could be as boisterous as we wanted. Getting this many ladies together is a fun experience on it's own. We all had different dishes on the pretty extensive lunch menu. Appy's including crisp calamari, chicken vegetable and havarti dumplings with a coconut cashew sauce. It was wonderful, but give me a break just 4 of them for $8.00 bucks. 2 more would have been more substantial. However, it was really yummy. Barbeque St. Louis ribs fries and slaw, Frittata, roasted tomatoes with pepprs and bacon, swiss and goat cheese, fish and chips. Everyone was very satisfied with their dishes. A couple of the ladies shared some of their deserts and the brownie with ice cream was incredibly tasty, a flan type desert was also shared. A bit pricey. $7.50 per desert. What the heck. It was a fun afternoon and well worth the visit. The service was good, the private room perfect. What can be better.

If you get the emails, read them carefully. We went in for a 2-for-1 special that started 7 days after they sent the email, I.e., not when we were there. Oops. My fault for not reading, but they should send it out closer to the special start. Entrees are in the $28 range, so that was a pricey error, and the manager would not honor the special in advance (my error but disappointing). We went early, pre-movie, and only one other table appeared to be occupied, with two couples. The hostess seated us right next to it. We should have asked to move a few tables over. The group was neither loud nor quiet, but there's no need to cram the only two parties in the restaurant together. Mistake #1. The cadillac margarita was terrific! Both entrees (halibut for me, steak for him) were thick and compact, and nicely presented and prepared. I rarely get a fish filet over 1" thick so particularly enjoyed this one; the flavor was great but not roll-my-eyes amazing. The "baby plum tomatoes" turned out to be three - count 'em - grape tomatoes. Really? Cute but a tad oversold. We had a fly or two gracing our presence; not sure if the waitstaff noticed, but no attempt was made to remove them. (we don't get flies often in Tucson) They filled the water frequently (a peeve of mine - leave me alone, just don't let me run out) and served the wine on time. Overall, we had a very good dinner, and the view is fantastic. However, the restaurant felt a bit pretentious - overblown and overpriced. We enjoyed ourselves, but there are too many other white-tablecloth restaurants in Tucson in this price bracket with far more character (Anthony's and Janos are right nearby), so I doubt we will be back.

Nice menu but nothing extraordinary. Had excellent service. Food quality was also excellent for a salad and a French Dip. Good selection of wines. Very nice view and atmosphere. Priced at what you would expect for a nice place and yes, we would probably go back, especially if we had reason to be at our favorite artist's gallery again, Diana Maderas. She is almost next door. Figure at least $50 for two for lunch with a glass of vino.

A restaurant I never fail to go to when I'm in Tucson. I love their food. My favorite is their free range chicken with the risotto, which they don't always have but is worth asking for. The rack of lamb is great as is the duck breast. The service is always good. The ambience is as good as the food, particularly the outside seating. This is a wonderful place for a romantic dinner or a nice enough venue for a business dinner.

I debated between 3 and 4 stars. The setting and decor are beautiful. A friend and I went for lunch on a weekday, and there were only 4 or 5 tables occupied. We both ordered the beet and baby greens salad. We were quite surprised at the small size of the salad for the price - $11. But, it was excellent, fresh and delicious. No bread was forthcoming, so we asked for some. It arrived shortly, the waitress pouring olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. No dipping oil could save this bread, however. It was tasteless and had a very weird texture. My friend had to ask for coffee refills, and when the table was cleared while we finished our drinks, the waitress took even the spoon, leaving no way for my friend to stir her coffee.

I recently enjoyed a very pleasant working lunch at Acacia. I must admit that it had been several months since my last visit to the new location, and this was my first lunch at Acacia. I went with the Cobb salad and it was delightful. A crisp bed of romaine was topped with fresh diced tomato, avocado, bleu cheese crumbles, pulled chicken and crispy delicious bacon! I loved the generosity of all the toppings; equal distribution here! And the vinaigrette was the perfect match. An over all excellent experience including the friendly service and the inviting staff!

I regret bypassing so many other restaurants in favor of having lunch at Acacia. It took forever for our server to show up to take our order despite the restaurant having maybe 4 tables occupied. I ordered a salad and asked my server to add the prawns which were listed as $6 extra. When the salad arrived it was literally 1 beet sliced, less than a teaspoon of goat cheese, a scant serving of greens, enough to fill a teacup, and 2 shrimp. Seriously Acacia? $3 a shrimp? I went elsewhere afterward to eat as this meal was both expensive and too minimal to satisfy my appetite. I will never eat there again. Next time I'll skip the trip up to Skyline and eat in restaurants where I get value for my money and not have to feel like I'm subsidizing their high rent and low patronage... I now understand why the place was practically empty.

I don't know of too many other restaurants where the owners are almost always there and greet you at the door when they can. Acacia has an amazing spinach salad, heirloom tomatoes on another salad they taste like they were just picked and other fabulous, fresh food choices. We liked it so much the other night we invited friends to join us tonight so that they can share our experience. The staff are all friendly & helpful and yes - the food DELISH!

Went for Christmas Dinner, it was so so. Moderate to ok service at best. Manager talking to other party who was complaining about service did not impress me with her response. Stated that because it was the holiday they were not accustomed to servicing this many people at one time. I can understand this except..... when we called to book a reservation Acacia demanded that we give them a credit card number in order to do so. They stated if we were a no show then they charge 50.00 AND give our table to someone else. To me , this means you are numbering the reservations to the number of people you are anticipating you can service with GOOD SERVICE. It was apparent this was not a method of controlling the number of plates served for the chefs and it appeared to be another way for them to make money. add to this we still had to wait 20 min for a table. So why all of the merry go round with reservations, threats to be charged 50.00 for not showing when they can easily offer table to others walking in. Food wise, it was ok. to be honest i could have cooked equally as well at home. NOT impressed and NOT returning.

Wow...had dinner here tonight. there are many choices in this part of town now, but this place shines! Four of us had: steak, garlic chicken, veggie plate, and burger. All of the dishes were cooked to perfection. Servers were attentive to an extreme. I had forgotten how good Acacia is. New favorite!

So so sad....... Acacia used to be a really good place to eat. We have continued to eat there over the years even while the food has continued to decline and the prices have continued to increase. Poor quality ingredients.....poor preparation.....poorly managed.....nothing good to say. We won't be back again .....too many other good restaurants in Tucson.

The food is really unmemorable here. We went for lunch and had the salmon sliders and the french dip sandwich. In retrospect, these choices weren't very smart. Don't go to an upscale restaurant and order sliders or an inherently messy sandwich. It's guaranteed that the upscale restaurant will have no idea how to do these well. Additionally, and I know this is just being picky, I thought the dining room decor was really bizarre. I had no idea what they were going for. Everything seemed conflicted and it made the experience, for me, kind of strange.

Acacia is great and the food is really fresh! I made a reservation for 15 people for an end of the semester/Christmas dinner for my group. Because of our "Broke" status as college students we ate off of the "All Day, All Night" menu and everyone was really happy that we could afford such good food on our budget! We had a reservation for 7pm and the atmosphere was so chic! Aside from the aesthetics, everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. I definitely recommend this restaurant for groups and special events.

This review is for the happy hour, which is offered Monday through Friday from 4-7 PM. The glasses of wine are $2 off, and beer and cocktails are also discounted. They have a lot of varied selections on their happy hour food menu. My husband and I had the warm spinach dip ($4.25), fish & chips ($7), and small rack of spare ribs ($7)... A few drinks and a few appetizers was enough for us for dinner, and the check came to only $40. Mondays they currently have a special for happy hour featuring a burger and a pint of beer for $8. I've eaten in the restaurant too, and in my opinion it's too pricey for the quality of the food. The food is good, but they charge $29 for a filet. With their high entree prices, I'd rather go across the street to Flemings, if I'm going to spend that much money for an entree. But you can't beat their happy hour, and they have some of the best city views in Tucson!

Went for NY Eve dinner. Sheer perfection, in every respect. Our waitress, Rose, was amazing. We never felt rushed to finish and move on to the next course. Everything arrived as ordered. Bussers were excellent also. Water was kept filled and dirty dishes taken away promptly, but not in an annoying, overbearing way. There was not one thing about the evening that made us say "it was really good, except for......" The music was also great and created a perfect ambiance. Wine was amazing, as was the martini. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Wow -- had read the reviews and thought this place should be good, but it wasn't. We had duck, scallops and veal in our party, and none of this was good. My duck was a reheated-from-frozen, piece of tough meat with an overly-heavy smoked flavor The service was so-so -- negative highlight was the wine switcheroo ("upselling") that I didn't notice until I got the bill. Super-lame, and not worthy of a supposedly fine dining restaurant... The one star is for the views of Tucson, nothing else...

Sadly, a disappointment. My husband and I really liked Acacia a few years back at their old location, but something must have changed, because this new restaurant is not so good. Our server admitted a number of times throughout the meal that he was having an off night, which was totally fine! What was weird was how all the busboys were new so the server had to keep pointing at our table to alert them to do stuff for us. I guess that'd be alright, but all the pointing made me anxious. Plus, I think there was too much staff on hand since some of the employees looked like they were wandering around aimlessly. The food took a long time to arrive (we were there 2.5 hours), and some of our drinks and bread got forgotten along the way... I ordered the salmon, which was Ok - mostly, it was a little too sweet with all the brown sugar. The people who ordered steak liked it, and I hear the tomato basil soup is good. I also hear their margaritas are good. Overall, I would not go back to this restaurant unless I heard the food - and especially the service - was as good as it should be for the prices they charge! Thisclose to giving Acacia a 2...

There are a few things I love about Acacia: the view in their new location, the fish and chips, happy hour, and some specialty margaritas. That being said I think they are struggling in their new space on Skyline.I have tried their Cadillac Tacos and was unimpressed, the tacos didn't have any of that Old Pueblo kick you're used to in town. I can get more flavorful street style tacos at Blanco at a better price across the street. I came here for cocktails frequently when it was located on River and Campbell in the St. Phillip's Plaza. In general it's an okay place to go, if you stick to the signature cocktails and apps you will be in good shape!

As much as it pains me to write this, I must say I had my first mediocre experience at Acacia. I guess only some of the menu items are successful. I had salmon sliders and the wife had a burger. Three dollar coin sized salmon sliders on a too big roll with little of the advertised remoulade, soggy tomato and wilted lettuce. My wife commented that her burger had too much "grill taste" and the bun did not look too fresh. This was a lunch visit. We do plan to return for dinner sometime. I've still got those five stars in my pocket.

The food is always good! Love their burger and pasta dish. Many options to choose from and great atmosphere! We like to sit in the bar because the bartender is gives great service and has a great personality (Jake)! Wonderful happy hour!

We were delighted with our dinners. I had a double pork chop that was moist, well seasoned, and huge. It was accompanied by a cabbage dish that was tangibly delightful. My wife had a vegetarian dish that was widely varied and exotic. My cheesecake and her gelato rounded out a wonderful meal. The service was punctual and helpful without being intrusive. A good evening.

I recently went to Acacia with my husband and mother. Mom gave us an anniversary present and it was also her birthday (we argued over who was paying the bill). Yummy experience, complete with fantastic scenery! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his 3-onion soup appetizer, complete with crusty bread and white, leek and red onions. Tasty. He called it one of the best onion soups he's ever had. Tall compliment! Acacia provided unlimited fresh organic bread-unusual and tasty. I believe the bread choices change from day to day. Mom & I split Thai chicken dumplings for our appetizer. They were mild, but the medium spicy sauce was off limits for my mother's tolerance levels. Wasabi was served on the side, but it sat ignored by our low-spice tolerance mouths. Excellent dumplings. I ordered halibut, which was really tasty; I loved the carmelized or darkened effect. My husband enjoyed cioppino--a unique spicy, smoky flavor. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of scallops, crab claws, shrimp, salmon and mussels (& more) that it contained! It was a hearty serving--and nothing was left! That was clear testimony from a happy diner. We were treated to a dessert for the special occasion, to our delight. Unique and delicious strawberry-lime crumble with vanilla ice cream. It sounded questionable to me--however, I was game for some adventure and it was really good. Raspberry sauce was dribbled on it, and it also contained fresh berries on the side and cooked ones in the crumble. Lovely ambiance and view from our table. It was a bit noisy for an upscale restaurant-I think that part of the ambiance was intended when it was designed. The main courses generally ranged from $22-29 or so. I'd go back in a flash. Everything was top quality and the service was excellent.

This place was really nice and the drinks were great. If my rating was just based on that, then it would be 5 stars. Unfortunately, the service wasn't good. The place was empty and we waited for 5 minutes in the bar area and no one even acknowledged us, so we had to move to the actual bar to get the bartender's attention. She was friendly, but then we ended up waiting a while again (with very few people in the entire place) for her to come back or get our check. Also, we were the youngest people there by far. It was mostly middle-aged couples or business dinners. So it's not a place with a young lively crowd.

Guys night out last night with my 92 year old dad and his 88 year old buddy. Been here before (Thanksgiving last year) and both the service (Leah) and the food (center cut filets) were excellent. Average entree price around $30, but worth it in my opinion. Great views if your table is by the windows, reservations highly recommended. I'll go again when next in Tucson.

We went to Acacia recently for a birthday celebration and we had some disappointments with the food. I was a bit nervous about going after speaking to a friend who said the noise in the restaurant portion was so loud during happy hour that you couldn't hold a conversation. It turned out that the place was half empty during our entire two hour meal, so happily we could talk. Our server, Michael, was fabulous. She was very attentive and fun to talk to, so thumbs up for her. All the staff was lovely and efficient. My cocktail was delicious and we enjoyed the wine as well. As far as the food goes, it was pretty hit or miss. I had the organic salad, which I was looking forward to because I love artichokes and they're in season. Sadly, my salad had two slivers of canned artichokes, (hello citric acid), and canned black olives. There's no excuse for this on an $8 salad at a high end restaurant. The roasted corn and pepitas were practically non-existent and in fact I thought they'd been left off since they were on the very bottom of the plate and all the lettuce was piled on top. I didn't finish it. My husband loved his French Onion soup and I could tell it was a popular choice based on other diners. For entrees my husband had a steak, which he enjoyed and said was cooked properly. I had the duck and the skin was so salty I could only eat little pieces at a time. I love salt, so believe me when I said it was OTT. Also, my medium duck had no pink in the middle. It wasn't completely dried out though, so it was ok, but again, a bit disappointing. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The absolute worst, however, were our desserts. Bread pudding for him and gingerbread sticky toffee pudding for me. He said the bread pudding was bland and he didn't finish it even though he's an avowed member of the clean plate club. My dessert was about 90% whipped cream with a few small pieces of absolutely stale and borderline tasteless gingerbread. There was almost no caramel sauce and was overall a huge letdown and definitely not sticky. So, you may ask, why didn't we send things back or complain? Remember that friend who told me she had been recently and had complained about the noise level in the restaurant during happy hour? The owner told her he couldn't hear her over the sound of the cash register. That's why we didn't bother.

I was not a fan of this place when it was at it's former location, however we decided to stop in for Happy Hour this past weekend and I was pleasantly surprised! Great menu, great happy hour specials, and plenty of beers, wines, and specialty cocktails to choose from. We shared the guacamole, then my husband had a burger with sweet potato fries and I enjoyed the churrasco (various meats on a stick). I also appreciate that they mark all the gluten-free friendly options on their regular menu. Service was great and the bar area really got crowded while we were there - we'll be back!

A little surprised that they don't have any local beer on the menu. Acacia is a local restaurant that uses local ingredients. Where's the local brew? The food was alright, as was the service. I ordered the salmon, it was prepared perfectly, a little disappointed that the serving was so small though. But maybe that's just me. It can be loud on a busy night. Love the view.

Reviews here seem a little on the harsh side. Sounds like all and all the new location is a bit of a let down for those that had a taste of the original Acacia. I went in fresh however, never having made it to the original site. With my judgement unfettered by expectations, I came away satisfied. The server was quite green, but polite and no major fouls. The chicken dumplings were a bizarre attempt at an east/west fusion that didn't work. Otherwise our entrees were well executed and unique but not adventurous. The prices were inflated beyond the quality of the food or the experience - this will keep me from coming back often.

Hungry and broke is not how you should feel after a brunch of chilaquiles. Acacia is a "nice" restaurant - like somewhere your grandmother might take you. It makes the effort to be fancy, but I found the service to be a little sloppy for the image that they are trying to project. I'd rather that they skip the 2 sweet breads at the start of the meal, and offer me a bigger entree. My chilaquiles were a small portion, and kind of had a Stouffer's quality although they didn't taste too bad, with a side of bacon that had obviously been sitting out for awhile - the fat is not fried off properly, so the effect was both dry and fatty - not appetizing. Everything took a long time, and we were not in a hurry but found ourselves tapping our feet impatiently. Save your pennies and hit up the Sunday Farmers Market instead.

A nice spot for a weekend brunch. Elegance exudes from the restaurant. A 3.5 stars worthy dining experience. Meal presentation is fantastic. Taste is not always up to par... it is good, do not get me wrong... however for the price it's not all that worth it. What I do recommend is the Tea Room (sandwich) and Eggs Sonora (a southwest twist on the classic benedict. Despite lackluster food at times, I still enjoy coming here with girlfriends to have a few mimosas and enjoy great company and excellent service.

I have been traveling to Tucson for several years on business and after my meal at Acacia tonight, I am honestly surprised that no one had ever recommended it to me. The meal started with the goat cheese and fig tart with caramelized onions drizzled with a balsamic reduction. What a perfectly balanced symphony of flavors...one of those bites that makes you close your eyes and savor the moment. Had the Veal Scaloppini for the main course which was also well prepared, presented, and well flavored. Service had that special (and rare) quality of being stealthy so as not to interrupt your conversation while being attentive at the same time. My uncle had the wedge salad and the prawns and was very happy with his choices as well. The interior is upscale and comfortable. I would highly recommend this as a place for business dinner meetings.

Acacia is WAY overpriced for what you get. The service was less than stellar too. Paying $150 for 2 people should get you an AMAZING level of service and food. We got neither.

The food was alright. I think the appetizers are better than the main entrees or we just ordered the wrong dishes. I really liked my iceberg wedge salad! It was lightly drizzled with dressing and decorated with blue cheese and bacon. My hubby's tomato soup was tasty, too. It wasn't your usual tomato soup. You could really taste all the vegetables and there was definitely some sort of cream in there.

Acacia has one of the BEST views in Tucson! You have to stop by, even if it's only for a drink, to check out the spectacular view of the valley. I ordered the steamed dumplings and the asian bar-b-que pork rib to share with a friend while we had a glass of wine. Both appetizers were incredible. The dumplings are made with chicken and havarti and filled with so much flavor, they are to die for. After the appetizers we ordered a piece of their Key Lime pie because the waiter boasted that "our customers from Key West say that our key lime pie is better than theirs in Florida," leaving it an easy decision for us to give it a try. The Key Lime Pie did not dissappoint. It was fabulous. I will have to come back for dinner to try a full entree!

Our first time here and we thought we would try the St. Patty's Day Special. The corn beef melted in your mouth. Wish there was more in the serving. Our server, Vincent was excellent. It was suggested for my husband to try a flight of beers and when they arrived, they were in the wrong order. Vincent was quick to show us which one to try first. We will definitely be back for Happy Hour!

Slow service. And what is with parceling out bread slices two at a time? The main course was fine--pork chop-- but the creme brule was made ahead of time and cold. Not even the top was warm. The waiter's voice reminded us of a clown--grating.

The atmosphere is wonderful with a great view of the city. Unfortunately, the food doesn't live up to the reviews I have read. We did have a wonderful appetizer; however, I would never order an entree from this restaurant again. Personally, I wouldn't waste my money when there are so many better restaurants in Tucson to choose from. We dined with another couple and not one of our entrees was cooked correctly. The presentation was beautiful, but all entrees were over cooked. The veal, which was a special that evening, was so tough I couldn't finish it. From talking with previous diners and their reviews it has made me wonder if their top chef is out of town for the summer or many he/she quit!

I was really looking forward to an upscale meal. I was completely wowed by their French onion soup. It was the best I ever had. Unfortunately, I ordered the loin steak and was extremely disappointed. There was absolutely no flavor whatsoever. It tasted as if someone just put it in a skillet with no seasoning. On top of that, it was very tough and full of gristle. My dinner partner had the pork chop and it was good. I wanted to complain about the steak, but the server never came back to the table to check on us. I never even saw her on the floor. In fact, I had a hard time getting my water glass filled by the server dispensing water. When I finally did get to complain, they were apologetic but did not try to make it better. I was not offered any compensation in the way of discounting my meal or a complimentary dessert. Considering the steak was the most expensive item on the menu, I thought it should have been at least edible. The other disappointment was the ambiance. It was so loud, it was difficult, if not impossible, to have a conversation at the table. Granted, the place was packed, but I could here everything at the table behind me better than what my dinner partner was saying. One other observation, it was very hard to find a place to park. Not the fault of the restaurant, just be prepared. The views are spectacular but I am not sure it was worth the trip. I am not sure if I will return again.

A truly enjoyable luncheon dining experience. We were in their private banquet room and for 30 people, and with 1 1/2 servers, all of our dining needs were met. We had a set menu of a chicken cobb salad with bread and choice of non-alcoholic beverage and mango and lemon sorbet for dessert. It was prepared very well and was just the right amount of food for a light luncheon! I have been to Acacia before for a six-course dinner (family-style) for a large group and everything was to perfection!

Okay, so I wasn't intending to be 'that woman with her kids' at such a nice place. But the wait at P.F.Chang's across the street was insanity. And we were all starved. And it was raining. And I was pushing a stroller. So I pushed it back to the hotel and did a quick text to get the number for Acacia and they were able to get us in... Holy gracious. The manager was so fantastic, I don't even think he would have cared if my kid had stood up on the table and thrown poo. Okay, maybe he would have. But he was very accommodating, and being in the industry, I know the gasps and groans I get at some establishments when I show up with two wee ones in tow. (I dine out a lot with my kids so they know how to eat and how to behave. Still, as soon as we sat down, the old couple next to us asked to move tables. Maybe she was expecting a hurled poo?) Anyway, the staff was LOVELY and so wonderful to us... we had about six servers, plus the manager, couldn't keep them all straight. But we were never ignored and they engaged my three-year-old a great deal. He loved the ribeye steak frites. My 8 month old loved the mashed tatoes. Me mumsie had the lamb - kind of wish I had ordered that, it was so fantastic. But I can't make myself ever order the same thing as someone else. Major hangup. And then I get food envy. Beet salad was awesome to start. I agree with Brooke - desserts are sort of forgettable. We took one back to the hotel room - a chocolate walnut roll - and it was like any boring bakery roulade... blah. Skip dessert and get another glass of wine. Great selection.

I've heard a lot of good things about Acacia, but every time my girlfriend and I wanted to go, they'd be closed by eight. Tonight we finally got a chance to go. The ambiance was very nice, the restaurant was well lit, the plate wear was unique. There was only one server and back server working, and only maybe15 people seated. Considering that they did a adequate job, one con was the server didn't introduce himself by name. Things started going downhill after we ordered our apps. I ordered the chicken skewers, she ordered the goat cheese tart. The skewers were beautifully presented, and were plunged into a apple. Who'd have thunk apples and soy went together so well? Upon biting into the third and final skewer, I looked at the center of the chicken, and it was only half cooked. That's right, raw chicken. Usually, as a cook I never complain about the food, unless it's important. Raw chicken is an amateur thing. The server apologized, and offered a new one. I was pretty turned off and said no, but decided to continue with the meal. The tart, however was delicious. For the next course I Had the Halibut with cherry tomatoes and sauteed spinach and a light lemon sauce on top. The halibut was well cooked, perfectly seared, however under seasoned, as was the spinach. She had the savory custard tart with cauliflower mash and black quiona. She enjoyed it but said it was slightly over seasoned. For the price that we paid (75 with tip, I also got a cocktail) I don't feel like it was worth the meal that we had. We could have easily gone to somewhere like JW Marriott's Signature Grill or Primo or Maynard's downtown. All and all Acacia at St. Phillips Plaza was quite disappointing. I might give it another shot in the future, but not anytime soon.

For a nice evening out, I treated my boyfriend to dinner here. I ordered the 30 dollar lamb, he ordered the 30 dollar pork chop. Both were among the best we'd ever had. Desserts aren't anything spectacular, so I'd suggest just going to a bakery and getting something there afterwards. The ambiance is nice, upscale and usually a live jazz band is present. Yelp puts this restaurant by U of A, but it's actually further north, by River.

My wife and I visited Acacia recently to celebrate our 39th Anniversary. Finding it difficult to select a couple of dishes (we like to share) out of all the delicious-looking choices, we opted for the the Tasting Menu, a selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts based on existing menu items, with variations. This choice proved to be one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. This, along with the beautiful view of the city, and a very pleasant waitress, made for a very memorable time. We plan to return often.

It is a beautiful setting. Others with me had a better experience than I did, but here it is. I ordered a steak and as usual, the server asked how I wanted it done. Not wanting to get into 'that is rare!' argument, I asked for it slightly pink inside. It was served to me charred. I asked the people in my party if it was pink and they all agreed it was charred and I should return it. I pointed this out to the server who politely brought it back to the kitchen. If that was all that happend I would be okay. That does happen sometimes. But after 45 minutes (or so it seemed) when my party had all finished eating and their plates were being cleared, the manager came out with a new steak and insisted that I cut it open in front of him to be sure it was okay. I felt he was treating me like a complainer. Besides, what if the portion I cut into was okay and the other half was raw? Where would I be then? Was there no other steak in the kitchen in the process of being served that could have been diverted my way? I had to eat my meal while everyone I was with was ordering their dessert. The steak was very good, but I would never go back.

My wife and I thought we would give Acacia another try, but alas this experience was worse than the first. The service was average and the food worse. The chicken on my wife's salad was as dry as the desert dust and when we commented on this, we were comped the chicken, but not the salad. Too many other choices in Tucson that are less expensive and have better food.

We've eaten dinner here twice. Ate inside both times. Delmonico steak was disappointing during the second visit; not very flavorful and a bit more cooked than medium, which I ordered. However, all else was great, it's nice and quiet inside and we love Michael, the waiter who hails from our State, New Jersey! Great service and great memory...he remembered details about our family that continued a conversation that began 5 weeks earlier....you don't forget that as a guest. I inadvertently left my Amex on the table and 2 days later they tracked me down (I have no idea how) at the Arizona Inn. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Next time we'll dine al fresco, IF Michael can wait on us. Lovely restaurant.

Been here four or so times in the past couple of years. Consistent quality. I have enjoyed every meal. I prefer lunch over dinner at Acacia. The chef was aware of gluten allergies and mentioned possible gluten cross contamination of the french fries due to the oil. I was impressed. Not a lot of places think of that. Good place to take the parents and also a nice place to have a solo lunch.

After the move up near La Encantada Acacia really gathered a lot of great energy, and they kept their outstanding menu! With the vibrant atmosphere and more affordable menu pricing, Acacia is an excellent choice. The only thing to watch out for is to make sure you have a reservation - especially on the weekends. Very helpful staff and don't forget the memorable appetizers!

My daughters and I recently had a fabulous lunch with Chef Albert Hall at Acacia. It was a wonderful experience; both the food and company were memorable to say the least. Chef Hall shared a couple samples of his golden tomato gazpacho with shrimp, scallops and crab...DEELISH! For me, this dish confirmed the restaurants promise to obtain the freshest, best quality organic and all natural ingredients...it tasted just like all of that. We loved it! Next up, my 7 year old and I had the Cadillac tacos and OMGoodness this chile, garlic and lime marinated beef sirloin was so tender it basically melted in my mouth, and the corn gorditas, napa cabbage and arugula with traditional salsa, avocado salsa, queso fresca and pico de gallo on the top was very yummy and satisfying! My 10 year old had, and of course I got a taste, the pole caught grilled mahi tacos with napa cabbage and arugula with traditional salsa, avocado salsa, queso fresca, chipotle crema and pico de gallo...another YUMMY fresh, well seasoned winner!! All in all a wonderful meal with great conversation, I can't wait to return for more.

I love this place and will be sure to visit every time I am in Tucson. I only eat at the bar now. The variety of food is better than at the regular tables. Their guacamole is fantastic. We had a number of appetizers and each one was excellent and beautifully presented. . The Chipotle shrimp were delicious and a very generous portion. The view and setting are amazing. We had excellent attentive, unobtrusive service.

Will I ever find an exquisite dinning experience in Tucson? We were a table of nine, and had reservations so we were sat right away but looking back the place was empty so we would have been sat regardless. The menu had good variety and also the seasonal sampler. Right away I knew that our server either had not been in the fine dinning industry for long or she was having an off day and letting it show. We started with a few bottles of wine. The wine list was very good so it wasn't hard to pick out a few perfect bottles. We then ordered and our food came out quicker than I was expecting. The two things on the menu that really stood out as excellent were the flatiron steak and the veal scallopini. The cioppino was good but not flavorful enough just like my fillet and halibut. The pork variation on the sampler was very tasty but overall the chef must like bland food or didn't bother to taste it. The desserts were all good but the cheesecake was and the chocolate orange mouse cake were better. As the meal went on and I started looking around at the decor it looked as if they are making some decorating changes and didn't finish but then I saw an article in a magazine from over a year ago and the decor was the same. Its confusing, it wants to be contemporary, french cottage, and California bistro all in one and it just doesn't work. So Mr. Chef spice it up and hire an interior decorator, until then i will go drop $700 at Janos instead!

Bartenders are always very friendly as is the woman who is usually a the front - i assume the owner. Very friendly and always willing to give a taste of a beverage if you can't choose a beer or wine. Love this place to catch up with friends and look at the amazing views out their floor to ceiling windows. Really clean dining area and bathrooms and I love their decor. It's colorful but not obnoxious.
