Realizing that this is a nicer version of a roadside restaurant mixed with a locals' bar, I found myself satisfied by the good ole American portioned fixin's. Jessica was pleasant and very patient with our fickle ordering and amused by our travel tale. I think that some of the previous negative reviews might have set their standards too high. I found this humble giant to be warm once you come in and make yourself comfortable. Just sit down and open your ears for some entertaining local gossip.

First the service was terrible our waitress was extremely ditzy and messed up the order. Second the food was terrible I didn't know that roast beef was supposed to be tough and crunchy. The mashed potatoes were off tasting and the chicken strips had a cornmeal fish battery instead of breading. Most of the food was cold except for the chicken strips which were molten hot. Also it was way over priced, Will definitely not be going back.

We came in on a Sunday because nothing else was open. The rib special was ok as we'll at the salad bar but the giant jar of croutons was stale. Everything else one the menu seemed extremely over priced. We found out that our two beers cost ten bucks after we got our tab. Defiantly won't be back.

I had the fish fry all you can eat with the salad bar. The fish fry is my new favorite. The only bad thing I could say is I live in Phoenix and it is a far drive for the best fish fry.

Ok, so, the employee christmas party was held here. I didn't have a choice, based on the reviews, I never would eat here, but I couldn't choose this restaurant this time. The two star average review was even overrated. It was sooo bad. They took prime rib and cooked it to not well done edges or even too undone. They made it grey. Upon asking for a piece that was more rare, I received a piece that was 95% grey and 5% pink. An improvement, but alas, still horrible. I decided not to make another fuss because of the company i was in. an employee dinner. I can't tell you how upsetting it is to have a place RUIN 50lbs of prime beef by not being skilled enough to cook it in a decent manner. Every person i spoke to commented how overdone the prime rib was. On the other hand, the steak and shrimp was supposedly good. A sirloin, very properly cooked but the grilled shrimp were COLD. The appetizers were passable, but nothing great. The spring mix salad with your choice of cheap ranch dressing or a disgustingly sweet raspberry vingarette. Sooo many craisins, I was piling them on the side of my plate. Lets face it,this place has too many clients for what they're serving. This town screams for a restaurant with fair prices and good food. How does a place like this stay open?

One of the cleaner, nicer restaurants in Safford and reliable. I use that word because I've never had a bad meal here, but it isn't spectacular either. A little pricey but good variety. I had a grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and the salad bar for 13.00. Chicken was moist but could have used more seasoning. Service was very good, efficient, and friendly.

Food was good. I had a chicken and noodle dish that was on special (I forget the name of the dish). Came with soup/salad bar and garlic bread. Garlic bread was mediocre. Soup and salad bar was shared so I had both and no one said anything. Draft beer selection was bleak (I ordered a Budweiser) but the beers were HUGE. I had a turtle cheesecake for desert and that was quite good. No complaints on the food, but the waitress must've been new. She seemed insecure of herself, and uncertain of how exactly she was supposed to do her job. She was really nice, though. Just a bit spacey. Oh, the building that the restaurant is in has a gift shop in the middle and a bar on the other side.

I wish I had checked Yelp before we visited this restaurant. I was up in the air about whether to give it one star or two. I decided since no one got sick, I'd go with two stars. We ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich and the flavor was okay, nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. However, since it was almost $11, I did really expect it to be big enough to make a meal. It was on a roll that was about 2 inches longer than a standard dinner role - seriously. I could have eaten two of these and still felt hungry. The service was mediocre but the bathroom was clean. We won't be visiting again and with so many poor reviews, I'm not sure anyone else will be either.

I hope you aren't in a hurry and unless it's Sunday and this is the only place open ... I suggest you keep looking. Incredibly slow service, food was meh, staff was trying but obviously seriously understaffed. We would go to McD's over this for dinner next time.

The building is beautiful and the decor was unique. It could use a deep cleaning. The service was friendly, a little strange, but friendly just the same. The food was 2-3 star food. Low quality but you got a lot of it. They do have $1 taco Tuesdays, tacos weren't bad, I'm glad they only cost a dollar. They had an adequate salad bar, but overall for what you got, I thought the food was highly priced.

Stopped in for lunch during a work trip. There were 4 of us and we all really enjoyed our food. I had the Philly cheese steak and it was great. Could have had more meat but the flavor was great! The server was very friendly and attentive. I would stop by again the next time I'm in these neck of the woods!

This place takes forever! Also every time I walk in the place feels so greasy. The booths need to be cleaned better. The food is not so bad but it's generic

Don't do it, read my tips. Total disaster by anyone's standards. Pure and complete incompetence. And a massive helping of attitude to go with it.

I give two stars purely for the decor and the waitresses were nice. Food was terrible. Steak was barely warm and had as much fat as meat. My wife's Reuben was drenched in thousand island dressing and the bacon on the jalapeño poppers was burnt. All in all a complete waste of money.

This was a good place, with good food. The service was a bit slow and spotty. I will say you do get a lot of food for the money. We showed up for breakfast and we were the only ones there.

ok- they are one of the few games in town. The food was okay. We had their $2.99 breakfast. What can you expect for $2.99? Suffice to say okay to the food for the price. Great looking place from the outside. They have a little store like thing when you enter and a chocolate candy and truffle display. $8.00 per pound I think it said. They did have a breakfast/brunch buffet also $6.99 I think. I chose the breakfast. Didn't feel like serving myself. Reading the reviews makes me rethink whether I'd go back there again or not. It's my understanding the owner of Manor House owns the hotels (Days Inn, Comfort Inn and Quality Inn) acrros the street. Maybe he should stick to hotelier'ing than restaurantuer'ing? Bottom line- for the price what can you expect? Besides, not to many other places to eat there. Safford is a small town.

We went for taco Tuesday, and 1/2 price margaritas. We had good fast service. 6 tacos, 2 marg. And chips n salsa = 10.95. I'll be back next Tuesday. They have specials most times.

I probably should have listened to Matt S. but I was too lazy to stray too far from my Day's Inn hotel. Let's just say that there isn't a plentiful amount of options to eat at here in Safford but The Manor House Restaurant should be knocked off any possible list of options if you decide to eat in this small eastern Arizona town. I totally agree that the prices (for dinner) are way overpriced and nothing really seems to be worth what they charge. I had the fried catfish dinner and $15 got you a side of sweet potato fries along with the meal that were so thin, you could barely taste the sweet potato. The fried catfish consisted of a couple pieces of most likely frozen catfish that had absolutely no taste and it was bland from end to end. Finally the house salad that also came with the meal was the sub par salad bar that had barely any lettuce, some of it getting rotten around the edges, and about 20 croutons (note that I took about 25% of the croutons available for the night). I felt like I should have bartered those croutons on the street.....they were that rare. And to top off the experience, as we were walking out of the restaurant, there was a glass case of chocolates and truffles in the gift store part of the restaurant that seemed to not be closed from the backside at all. Therefore, crawling on all the truffles and homemade chocolates were flying bugs eating away at the sweets. Classy. No wonder this spot only gets one Yelp review per year!!!

Manor house is awful. Small portions, high prices, craptacular service. As I sat at the bar for the first 15 minuets waiting for the bartender to ask me what I wanted, (I thought shouting might be deemed crude) two different parties came up to cancel their orders. I waited some more. Still more people came to cancel orders. One act of congress later and I had my second beer. "Sorry sweetie were slammed tonight". I looked around and counted the other 9 people in the bar which can accommodate 311 and had to agree that they had met their capacity. Poorly staffed, poorly managed, highly overrated in advertising from local hotel elevators. But the bathrooms were clean.

There's only one thing worth actually paying for here: the jalapeño poppers. I cannot believe that this place continues to operate with the quality of food and service that they offer. When the coolest thing you have going for you as a restaurant is the badass wagon hoisted up to the ceiling in the middle of the room, you probably shouldn't be a restaurant; you should be a fucking museum.

We stopped in at the Manor 7:15 pm as there was not much else open on a Sunday night in Safford. I think Denny's would have been a better choice. We had their signature sandwich...the Philly. The Philly was ridiculously small with very little inside. We had onion rings which were ok, but for $8.99 each it was a pathetic meal. The service was sketchy, the atmosphere was tacky. It was our first time there and we think we were being served in the bar, however, they were serving families with small children in there as well. Very disappointing.

I have not eaten here in several years and I doubt I will again unless someone else in my group wants to. The food is below average and over priced. The establishment is nice and well kept, they have a gift shop and candy store; also over priced. If the owners are still the same the gentleman is a sweetheart but his wife is a B***h. If you are staying at any of the hotels in the area, just go somewhere else to eat, save your money & time! I gave them 2 stars instead of one because the waitstaff is friendly and the establishment is nice; just need better food and cheaper prices!

I have been here 3 times so far. Killer deals for happy hour from 3-6 at $1 draft and 1/2 margaritas. They also have good weekly deals on food. Taco tues, hamburg wed, fish fri. Their regular menu could be considered pricey by some, but I felt what I ordered was a reasonable price.

My husband & I had dinner here on 10/18/13. This place is horrible. The service was slow & our little server was a twit. The salad bar was nasty & looked like it hadn't been refreshed in some time. I ordered the petite Prime Rib, medium well for $19.99. It was so disgusting I only ate 2 bites. It was covered with rosemary seasoning, undercooked and full or fat ... absolutely disgusting! My husband ordered the steak sandwich special & said it was probably the worst meal he has ever had. He used most of my au jus to cover up the taste. Save your time and money ... don't waste it here.

This place is horrible. First of all, their food is gross. The only thing that is semi good are their tacos.. However, I would only go on dollar night. Wouldn't even consider paying a cent over that for those.. Last visit ever, was yesterday. They double charged my credit card. Went in to dispute it and they had no idea what happened. They were supposed to credit the overcharge and ended up charging me another amount that was unauthorized. Called the manager, who proceeded to yell at me and asked, "What do you expect? A free meal?" Actually that was never even mentioned.. Long story short. I was charged over 70 dollars for a 20 dollar meal, and was told to wait for the bank to reverse it all. The manager could not comprehend that because of the error they originally made, my account is less $50. They have never been a good place to eat, and with that type of a Manager running the place, they never will be!

This place suxs. That's all I can honestly say. I have eaten breakfast 3 times there. 2 of them second chances. Crappy food. Crappy service and way to overpriced. If you are thinking about eating here ... Don't. Save your money. Go eat some Mexican food at El Charo or Chalos instead.

This place shut be burn to ashes...the service sucks, I had the New York Stake combo with crab cakes and an extra side of mash potatos...the stake "uneateble", the crab cake "uneateble", the mash potatos well let's just say you where unavaible to see them in the pool of gravy...the vestables steem carrots that's it, I also got some salte mushroons with onions and gess what can mushroons...and to top it up the server place me in a stiky table, I will never step foot in this place again.

Need to add that I tried the salsa here, and this place needs to be prosecuted for false advertising for having a banner out front the reads something along the lines of "Best Salsa in Town!"

This is my second visit and it's 7:30 PM and I just got seated. 7:40 & I placed my order. Dinner rush is over. Decor fits the area & is authentic. 7:45 & I have chips & good chunky salsa but nothing to drink. 7:50 & I got my margarita & water. Waitress is very friendly. Margarita is good & half price on Tuesdays as well it should since there might have been 2 oz & an abundance of ice. Salad bar was spartan. Lettuce was rusty. Carrots were dried-out. Dinner is served...chicken fried steak was ok. Corn was canned & salt could not bring out any flavor. French fries were average. They had been busy so that might account for the messy floor & uncleared tables. The one next to me was never cleared. Summary... everything is average. Slightly above average is the staff & decor. To the owner...I wouldn't advertise an award from Sisco. I'll give you one more try my next trip which will be in about 3 or 4 weeks. I'll try before the dinner crowd. I do hope you make it because Safford deserves a good restaurant that lives up to their menu.

Stopped here on our way home from New Mexico and it was the worst meal I've ever had at a restaurant. I ordered the Mexican combo #1 I believe. It came with 2 cheese enchiladas, a taco, tostada, rice and beans. The rice was refrigerator cold which told me that it wasn't fresh and the rest of the meal tasted about as good as a frozen TV dinner. The only positive was that the chips and salsa were pretty good... Probably store bought as well. Don't waste your time or money here.
