There are too many places in this valley to get Mexican food. We have a "Salsa Trail" for goodness sake! With so many options, flavor is a deeply personal and subjective matter for locals when it comes to Mexican cuisine in the Gila Valley. Around here, people's favorite Mexican food usually boils down to a favorite dish at one location and a different favorite dish at another, rather than a global consensus of who has the best Mexican food around. Even though there will never be a general consensus about the best, there are a few standard establishments that locals can rely on. Casa Manana is one of them. Casa is our first choice for Mexican cuisine when we are in Safford and need a quick yet pleasant service we can count on to get us back on the road stuffed and happy. Management has a knack for finding talented and enthusiastic employees to help us keep up with our breakneck schedule and foodie inclinations. Casa Manana is now owned by a family who has always been a top competitor in such a highly saturated market for a very long time. They excel in customer service, and a varied menu that never rests on its laurels. One of the owners even cordoned off a section of the kitchen for himself just to experiment with new menu ideas. I also like that I never know when their research kitchen is going to produce a new delightful addition. For example, during the summer time, they have an expanded luau menu that should not be missed. Many would say Casa is known for their shredded beef tacos and enchiladas. By the way, if you ever go to a Mexican restaurant that does not offer shredded beef, run the other way. Though Casa's shredded beef standards are good, I think there are other items that offer a more unique experience. Again, the summer luau menu is also well-known and should not be missed. During the rest of the year, we usually alternate a few of our favorites depending what we are in the mood for. The steak empanadas with Baja sauce are excellent and at least one of us gets them each time (pictured here). Their stuffed chili relleno is very large and comes with shredded chicken or beef (also seen here). We also recommend the creamy chicken enchiladas with sour cream inside, the always excellent fajita salad, and the fish tacos with Baja sauce. Casa is the only restaurant that I know of in the Gila Valley that offers Baja sauce. Who doesn't love a spicy dip that goes on just about anything. Keep in mind their menu is quite varied, and we have yet to try everything, so there might be a dish you like or find that has not made this particular review. Now, a word on Salsa. We also like that Casa offers two different complimentary salsas with their complimentary basket of chips. More Mexican restaurants should offer a few different salsa options to offer different salsa paring options for different dishes that cater to different tastes. This was a good move on Casa's part. Their building is one of the neatest from the outside combining a well manicured old house (casa) with a new expansion to accommodate its ever expanding popularity. An appropriate balance of old and new is what you can expect at Casa Manana. However, be warned, parking can be tricky. Also, consider coming to Casa Manana for birthdays as well because they offer free fried ice cream for the birthday kid or kid at heart. You will have fun watching their team of perky employees sing to you or your loved one. They must be cloning good help other there.

This place is fantastic on so many levels. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The service is very efficient. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The portions are huge! Would definitely come back and/or recommend!

Casa mañana is the perfect place for a nice Mexican meal in a fun little dive restaurant. The decorations of their Hawaiian themed menu with the hanging paper Palm trees and pineapples are very tacky but fun. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Their food is quite good. Although not really true Mexican flavours they do put a nice spin on their own rendition of the cuisine. The kalua tacos that I had were very good. The side salsa of pineapple and coconut gave a very interesting and fresh flavour to the pulled pork. The portions are massive. I could barely eat half of my meal. Oh! And I highly recommend the margaritas. They are very fresh and tasty. I will probably come back mañana.

Always SO good! This is consistently my FAVORITE restaurant in the valley! Today we ordered and split the "Daddy" and the "Casa Chimichanga," which are my favorite dishes. The flour chips are the best part, i.m.h.o. TJ was a great, friendly, and efficient host!

This place is great! Best Mexican Food in the area. We eat here anytime we are near Safford. The people that work here are great. Highly recommend the fajitas and the margaritas.

As we walked in. We were greeted by the friendly staff. We were sat and we automatically got chips, salsa and water! Great service! Ordered the fajitas. Not bad. I gave them 3 stars because the salsa tastes like Pace picante sauce. The guacamole may be processed also.. Nice looking establishment though On second thought.. Add another star for the re fried ice cream!! It's awesome!'

The restaurant was really cute and clean (except for the tortilla chip that was stuck to the inside of the menu with dried salsa), and the server was super sweet. But unfortunately the food was pretty bad. The guacamole looked and tasted pre-packaged, and the Chile relleno had no flavor at all (it was almost all breading). The sweet onion sauce was just onions in tomato sauce, no sweet, no spicy. Strangely, the fish tacos didn't look appetizing but they were the best things we ate. If we come back, it will only be for the great service and to try a different dish to see if it has flavor or spice.

I went here with my family and we all enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was good and my dad almost licked his plate! The waitress was nice and we were seated quickly by the hostest. I will return.

The service was really good, but the food was just ok. The best thing on the menu is the chips and salsa. But for Safford it may be one of the better options.

Excellent food and service. Loved the salsa - I love onions and it has a lot. My wife had creamy chicken enchiladas and I had a Macha chimi and both meals were excellent and too large to finish. Glad we stopped here for lunch.

The staff was nice with a small town feel. I had the Combo plate with red tamale and carne machaca enchilada. It was decent, but not impressive. The red sauce was a bit blan and on the bitter side, but the rice and carne machaca enchilada were tasty. I think that if I had a craving for mexican food and I was in the area, this place would suffice.
