This cute little mom & pop bakery is located right next to the Hotel St. Michael. The selection here is not huge, mostly cookies, scones, and pastries stuffed with cream. I tried the coconut macaroon and it was perfect! Also tried the raspberry and cream filled pastry...WOW!! this was soooooo delicious...amazing. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and told me that I picked his 2 favorite things....there was also an older woman making something in the back...they both laughed at my jokes so I would say they are both good folks. We paid about $5 for our treats and it was worth every penny! This is a cash only place....so take your money and get over there.

I had a scone here and it wasn't very good. However, why the 5 stars? Because yes, I did fall for the cute exterior to this place, but...there was actually a grandma inside. A real, live, 80+ year old woman who still has her little bakery just off of Whiskey Row that's only open like 5 hours every day...and she seemed to have no employees. HOW CUTE IS THAT? She was so darling...I just can't resist. Haven't been there since that first time, but I still remember the giddy feeling I had when she told me to have a beautiful and wonderful day.

I visited Grandma's on my recent visit to Prescott with a local friend. I visit often and had always peeked but never shopped this place. As a former bakery owner I am a bit picky about my pastries and that is what kept me from rushing in. When I first entered, one case was full of fine pastries like Napoleons, Eclairs (the choux pastry ones!), and cream horns, while the other case was full of cookies, brownies and other such treats. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and chatted away with us, even asking us where we were each from without any negative response. I bought a box full of pastries to take home and an eclair to enjoy right then. She made sure to let us know the cost (apparently, someone the day before had thrown a fit about the prices despite the prices being on the wall) and boxed them up nicely for me, just as she did for my friend. We sat down at the table to eat what we'd purchase, myself the eclair, my friend, a cheese danish. The eclair was delicious! The choux was light and airy, the creme patisserie was smooth and rich and the chocolate poured fondant on top was just right. I tried a bite of my friends Danish and it was delicious as well! I will be going to Grandma's again, especially after I visit Roasters coffee. To be honest, I look forward to it.

The awesome smell of this bakery permeates the air. I had a lemon custard neopalitin which was so flaky. The custard was the best that I have had on a long time. It was so good, I went back in and bought another! Cash only and well worth the stop! Located next to the St. Michael Hotel

My son and I walked over to Gramma's after a terrible pastry experience at Gurley Street Bakery. We had to redeem the morning. Gramma's has a wide variety of pastries ... Only a few looked worth the prices. We got two cookies and a cinnamon roll. The cookies were hard and overcooked, not a great chocolate chip recipe. Cinnamon roll looked thrown together but tasted good. Best part was the owner offered us a brownie for free that was somewhat misshapen. Delicious!

Cute exterior and the lemon Napoleon I had was excellent. I'd visit again. Grandma had some coffee going too.

The best thing about this place? The exterior. It entices you in, suggesting it might be well worth inspecting a hidden gem. Sadly, such is not the case. Grama herself is nice enough, but she has an extremely limited offering of goods and unfortunately they're not very good. Not all grandmothers are good cooks, I'm afraid. There are too many coffee chops in town. Just give this place a pass.

The only reason this bakery does not deserve 5 stars is because it is a little pricey. HOWEVER if you are willing to pay a little extra for great pastries this is the place to go. The woman was very pleasant and pretty funny at times. We bought a napoleon, two chocolate gnaches with whipped cream, a couple cookies and a chocolate eclair. ALL were absolutely heavenly. I have no complaints. They are worth the price.

The exterior of this place is what drew us in, so cute and reminded us of Europe. The case didn't have very much items...some cookies and brownies on one side and the other had a few pastries. The owner was in the back at the time and another customer, who is a local there, said everything is delicious. The cookies looked homemade, the peanut butter cookies were big and thick but the snicker doodles did look a little over baked. What caught our eyes were the lemon and custard Neapolitans. We bought one of each and I have to say they were very good. The puff pastry was flaky, the lemon filling was just right, not to tart and not to sweet, the custard was creamy and also not too sweet. I think next time we will buy a variety of items to try. The woman who owns Grandma's Bakery is the new owner and I think she does everything herself, maybe that's why the case wasn't filled with many items. She was very nice and humble and appreciated the business and also said everything she makes is from scratch....I asked. It's cash only. When were visiting Prescott, we will stop by again.

Too adorable to resist from the street, my friend and I popped into Grama's to take a peek at all the luscious goodies. Pies, cookies, eclairs, cannolis, cinnamon rolls, macaroons, and sugar galore... Grama greeted us when we walked in and though she wasn't overwhelmingly warm, she was kind. The prices are definitely much more than I would normally pay for a pastry, but I felt guilty walking in and not purchasing anything so I bought a chocolate napoleon ($5.10) to share. The napoleon was delicious and we ended up chatting with a very nice gentleman enjoying his coffee at the lone table in Grama's shop, so all was not lost on that mellow Prescott afternoon.

Ive been to "Grandmas" a few times and I have to agree with the overall rating for customer service and quality of product. That being said, let's move on to the "flatlanders" comments. I'm from Phoenix ( not Mars) and I love to support the local economy which Prescott happens to be. I hold customer service standards very high and it IS the tourists that bring business so why the 1786, you-ain't-from-around-these-parts attitude? Who cares where your from, its the fact that you want to give them your money! Discrimination is NOT tolerated in my family and by the way, we are moving to Prescott and I will still wear my baubbles, perfume and high heels!

Best napoleon I've ever had. The best. Grama did seem concerned about how we were going to transport her napoleon but I took that to be pride in her work! I've travelled Europe and love the French patisseries and Grama rivals the best of them.

Like others stated , the bakery looks very cute from the outside and this drew us in. The case was somewhat empty, so we decided to order a few cookies. Yuck! The cookies were hard as a rock and very stale. Maybe a bad granny day in the kitchen, but based on the fact that all 3 cookies were nasty, I would not recommend shopping here.

I just read about the "flatlanders". How annoying is that? So in a town that thrives on tourists, who support your little city of Prescott, you trash talk and judge? nice. Anyways, we went in to this place and it was so cute from the outside. The woman inside was nice enough. A little short, like my Grandma would be, and even though I'm used to it with my Grandma, I just prefer not to be spoken down to by a complete stranger. Nonetheless, my kids shared a pastry and my husband and I each had our own. We had our own coffee that we had gotten earlier and that wasn't a problem at all. She only accepted cash and was nice enough about it. My husband ran down the way and got some out. But still, I don't understand a business that doesn't accept credit. Those machines are like 30 bucks. There was very limited seating, but what did I expect, it almost added to the quaintness. All in all, this place was okay, and I'm more than happy to support you "locals" when I'm in town. But if people really have such an issue with us "big city folk", I will happily drive 10 minutes to the Golden Corral and support big business. If that's what you want..

I came on here to see what the reviews were & by Tiffany's review - I'm not surprised. We go to Prescott often, are not vegans & eat a naughty sugary treat from time to time. We had our dog & 2 kids so my oldest stayed outside w/ the dog & the rest of us went in. My youngest chose an eclair - she said, "You know that's filled with custard right?" Well....most eclairs are & I expected it to be. I suppose if one is not used to pastries, one might think it's an empty chocolate topped pastry - but even so, don't fill me in w/ disdain. If my kindergartner wants an eclair on a special daytrip to Prescott I suppose he should have one! My oldest was outside & unfortunately could not make her pre-teen mind up. So *ding ding* I went out to ask, *ding ding* she poked her head in, *ding ding I went out to clarify - YES, we were annoying - but the eye rolls? Were THEY necessary???? So then....even tho we are not vegans we are very natural in our food choices & try to stick to organic as much as possible. Hubby fell in love w/ a cherry pie. I make cherry pie, from scratch, it's good - I get complements, I'm not tooting my own horn here. Grama used canned cherry pie filling. I kid you not. And as hubby slid out the door w/ many goodies she told him, "Do NOT refrigerate MY pie." dun dun dun... SO customer service STINKS. I'm SCARED to refrigerate the pie filled w/ dye & preservatives. Grama doesn't have TIME for out of towners. BUT...I gave an extra star than Tiffany because my Brownie ROCKED. But I think it was from a box.......

What y'all Scottsdale types don't know is that Grama's (yessirreebob, that's One M) saves the best stuff for us local rubes and she is SUCH a dear when you're not a vegan or need change for U.S. Savings Bond. She can spot a flatlander from a block-and-a-half away, so good luck. If ya'll want the good stuff, dress 'real', lose about 8 pounds of the baubles, skip the perfume/cologne and hug a horse afore comin' in.

Walking through Wiskey row on Memorial Day weekend. We stumbled on this little bakery, and yes a little grandma runs it. The selections are limited and pricey, but the whipped cream pastry, chocolate or rasberry are to die for! They melt in your mouth. My Friends had the eclair and the bread pudding which grandma explained and included that you put her homemade custard on top. These were all 5.10 a piece and yes i was somewhat taken back by the price. However after getting them home and biting into the pastries i was amazed! Then as a baker myself realizing the work it took to make and asemble that kind of pastry by hand, it made sence. I have eaten alot of pastries and these were just awesome! I have already been back since this visit and will be getting more today for my husbands Birthday. Thank you Grandma PS dont know about the cookies really wasnt there for cookies

OMG - I had a shocking experience at this place. The bakery looks darling from the outside; it had a cute sign and had a European flavor to the storefront. Although my family is mainly vegan, we thought we'd check it out just for fun and maybe pick up something for our hosts in town. Well, even if we had wanted to, I don't think the store associate/owner would have given us that chance. So we're perusing the glass case of pastries, checking it all out, when the elderly lady came out from the back of the bakery to greet us. (I think she might have been "Grama", but I would be surprised that a business owner would act in the manner I am going to describe.) Anyway, she asked if she could help us and I said, "We're actually vegans so we probably can't eat anything, but we just wanted to check it out." She gave a befuddled, sarcastic laugh and rudely said, "well....GOODBYE!" and walked AWAY!!!!! She literally left us standing there in disbelief! Didn't even give us a chance to ask questions, make small talk, or purchase something for our hosts. I'm sure we were probably her 5th customer of the day, so you'd think she'd at least want someone to talk to. My husband and I were completely shocked. This has to go down in history as one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. HORRIFIC. And by the way, the baked goods didn't look that great, either. Even if she had been nice, I don't know if I would have bought anything. Her attitude made everything look even worse. You are much better off going to Wild Iris for some real pastries and at least some great service.
