This CJ's was fitted inside the original Wendy's restaurant many years back. It's located on the little 'fast food row' next to KFC, Long John Silver's. McDonald's, Filaberto's and Taco Don's. I can't count the number of time we have eaten here, but it's in the hundreds. We generally avoid all fast food places for full meals, but often do drive thru drinks, breakfast, value meal snack, or dessert treats on the cheap. that is where this place shines and has us by passing the other options nearby. This CJ's runs regulars specials and value pricing that are lower that the corporate standards. DRINKS One biggie is the Any Size Drink, which includes coffee (!!!) for 79 cents. Their Channel Islands coffee is very good, and the large is very large. These drink prices are the best anywhere (outside of a Circle K promo) BREAKFAST First off, CJ's biscuits are surprisingly great; they are a bit crumbly but are big, moist, fresh and tasty as I've had in any restaurant. Way above fast food quality. The everyday special is 2 for $2 fullsize breakfast sausage/bacon egg and cheese biscuits. DOLLAR SPICY CHICKEN Every place seems to have these. CJ's is the biggest, moistest and tastiest of all the competitors in my family's opinion The drive thru is usually quick, our orders are always correct and the service is usually very friendly. All these things have us going thru the drive thru a few times every week, and rarely anywhere else. PS. when we want a burger we just take the drive to In and Out. 10/15/14 Update on "dollar items"-- All drinks are now $1, not .79 2 for $2 breakfast special is gone. $1 Spicy Chicken is still the best around. Eat For About a Dollar (or Two) Tip Spicy Chicken & a Large Soda is around $2.15 with tax.

I've been traveling a lot and have had many visits to various Carl's Jr's throughout the western U.S. And I just felt like this one wasn't as tasty as most. I got the Big Chicken Fillet sandwich on a fresh baked bun, which I usually love, but my bun was burned and the chicken was thin and over cooked. I did not eat my meal. Waist of money. Bummer. Hopefully it was just a fluke.

Carl's burgers are always a good size, and many are often worthy of being called a $6 burger, but I wonder if, at this location, they use the stale buns on the burgers bought on sale making them only worth the sale price. Today I got the Big Carl on sale and had a stale bun. The last few times I ordered the 2 Western Bacon Cheeseburgers for $5, I again got stale buns. I'll have to pay the full price on a burger to test my theory. Their burgers on stale buns are not worth what they charge.

Two things about this Carl's Jr. that I really like: first, they give a veteran's discount, which is pretty cool. Second, their burgers are great. Not the best I've ever had, but very good for fast food. Unfortunately, there are a couple of items on their menu which aren't very good, in particular the new chicken tenders. I really wanted to like them, but they're rubbery and the breading isn't crispy at all. Very disappointing. Service is generally good, but when most other fast food places have upgraded their front-of-house with more comfortable seating and televisions overhead, Carl's is still rocking the old-school hard seats and local radio station. Good for take-out, but skip the tenders. Try a Big Carl (which is a much better version of the Big Mac) or the Western Bacon Cheeseburger.

My experience was for the drive thru. I got lucky as I had the munchies on Christmas Day. Considering the fact that we eat late in the day I really needed a quick bite to hold me over. I am not a hamburger junkie nor have been a frequent diner for Carl's Jr but they were the only fast food drive thru chain open in the area. I ordered an $.89 cent soda along with the three piece chicken tenders and large natural cut fries. Tempted by the smell and impressed by the look of my food. Let's say I had to pull over to eat. I was amazed on how well the chicken tenders tasted. They were fresh and crispy. Between Jack in the Box, McDonalds and Burger King I have to say they knock them out of the chicken tender game. They were sooooooooooooooooo good. Some of the tastiest fresh tenders around. I did not even need to dip them into any sauce they were so good. The French Fries were another impressive piece to my meal. Again no sauce, ketchup, salt or pepper needed. These bad boys were so good. I am now a huge fan of Carl's and can't wait to drive thru again. I will mention for a holiday the drive thru went fast. Matter of fact my food was hot, fresh and mighty tasty. The counter cashier was friendly when taking my order and everything was accurate.

We had frequented this place many time in the latter part of 2014, 90% of the time it was drive thru and the service was ALWAYS horrible! We would wait forever in line for our food even when the line was very short and the food was always cold and missing items. We were always handed our food and never asked if we wanted condiments or even NAPKINS! Seemed to always be kids working and even kid managers that always had excuses as to why they were lacking....NEW cook, NO help, etc. WONT be back and hope that they improve or REHIRE!
