My journey began with a call to the hotel to let them know that I would be a late check-in. I informed them that I needed two beds. When I arrived, they expected that four people would sleep in one bed. We told them that we had called and were assured two beds and the supposed night manager couldn't find any record of it. Also couldn't find any record of the room being booked for four people. He told us there was nothing that he could do. We requested a second room which they wouldn't accommodate. He stated he had other people still coming in and didn't want to inconvenience them. I asked him what he would do if he were in my situation. I asked him if he expected me to pay $250.00 per night to have people sleep on the floor because not all of us were going to fit on one bed. He then offerred one twin size rollaway. I asked him if he had a pillow and a blanket and I informed him that I would be sleeping on the couch in the lobby. He then said he would put two rollaways in the room but it was against fire code and he could POSSIBLY move us in the morning. It took almost an hour to get into our room. After we arrived, we found someone else's things in the room and the bathroom floor was so sticky that my shoes were sticking to it. This was 2 am. At 7 am they left a message saying that they had a room ready. Not quite sure how it wasn't available 5 hours earlier but then became available. Was told that we would be provided chips and salsa and water and juice for the inconvenience. They gave us one water bottle and one glass of juice for four people. The valet/bell person was the only person that told me about the parking pass that could be purchased for $19.00 with in/out privileges. The "manager" didn't even ask about parking. Otherwise, parking is across the street. Valet parking is $27.00 per day. Overall, price of the hotel is expensive plus parking is expensive. I have stayed at other Hyatts and found the staff to be snotty as well. I just stayed at a Best Western in Utah and that was one of the nicest places. It was an older hotel but it was clean and the staff were very friendly. I travel a lot and work in customer service. I think I can offer an unbiased opinion of what places offer good service and which ones don't. I give credit where it is due and this place definately didn't deserve the credit.
