Last time I ate at a Denny's was back in college during the free grand slam event. At that point in my life I didn't really care where I ate at because I was always broke and starving. Being out on the road, choices are few and even fewer if you're craving breakfast food at noon. I didn't realize how awkward it can be waiting around with no one to seat you. Am I invisible? I'm not that much of a wall flower to be overlooked at in a Denny's right? I was eventually seated and presented with a familiar menu. Prices are cheap just like I like it, and the service was sub par, just like any middle of nowhere joints. Ok the staff was friendly and pleasant at least, but it's never a good thing when you walk out of the place you just ate at and feel a bit dirty and unkept. It must be a sign that I've turned into one of those pretentious Dallas brunch eaters!

Second dirtiest bathroom in AZ. Sister ordered hash browns in hopes she wouldn't get food poisoning from a potato. Dad's been farting all nite. We went there for Denny's consistency, but this place gives Denny's a bad name.

Poor service. Got seated, and took them too long to get our order. They paid more attention to their locals.

We had dinner here once, traveling through. It was ok but not great. This restaurant is not super clean, and food was so so. Servers were friendly. They do give you 10% off at Dennysv if you are staying at nearby Travelodge motel.

Very friendly staff. Good food. Reasonable cost. This what I would expect from Denny's. Would eat here again.

The location of this Denny's is excellent; it's within walking distance from several motels, in an area where there aren't a lot of food options. But the food and service aren't that great. My first visit here was around 9 pm after I'd checked in to the motel, so I understand that people are tired. But my server was really unfriendly, mumbling when he spoke and making me feel like it was an imposition to ask for anything. My food was fine, though it's hard to screw up a quesadilla and fries. The next morning, we came back for breakfast. The service was a lot better. They put too much cherry syrup in my drink, but it was no problem to fix it. I had the veggie skillet, which tasted really good, and made me sick. We had several hundred miles to drive that day, and we got a late start because I had to go back to the room and lie down while my husband went in search of some Pepto. Not cool, Denny's. Not cool at all.

Average. Average. Average. I will say it's the best thing for miles to come or go. There is nothing out here, so Denny's is your only choice if you do not want gas station doughnuts. Good timing, we were seated right away. We also got our order right away, and we got our food in a timely manner. My coffee was refilled, but that was not the case for my sisters orange juice. None the less, we were greeted with friendly, warm smiles. Honestly, I cannot wait to be back in California in the city.

What can one say about Denny's! The food all across the country taste the same meal to meal. So for me, what sets one Denny's apart from another is the location and the service. We flew into the small airport and walked down to the main drag for something to eat...and there was Denny's! This place is just off the interstate on its main street (Navajo Blvd). The place wasn't overly busy, but it wasn't empty either. Our server was nice and the food came hot and quick. If you fly into the Holbrook Airport, it is just a few short blocks to this restaurant...give it a try.

Breakfast, breakfast, breakfast, I really need to get breakfast. I am on a freeway driving towards California with 3 kids and a starving wife and no sign of life for the next 53 miles. Eventually I spot something that isn't out of a window or a gas station and I say "let's go to Denny's." Everyone gives a sigh of relief and the whole car is filled with excitement as we pull up to their private lot. AS we enter the location we are sat rather quickly which is good because we are ready to eat half of their inventory. So now we meet our nice server who takes our drink orders and we feel like this is going to be good. But as we get our drinks CHELSEA the so called waitress comes up to our current waitress and says "this is my table." Our waitress looks confused and says "did you want this table? Um okay," and walks away. Wow did my kids just witness a bully in action during our breakfast. She then proceeds to take our order and asks if we need anything. My wife asked for cream and an extra plate for my 4 year old that eats like a bird. When she returns with our food she forgets the cream and we casually remind her. I must mention that she didn't even bring my food but some other waitress that looked upset did, she only brought our toast. Also the toast that I got with my meal was burnt so that doesn't fall on the waitress but the kitchen needs to adjust that dial. The boys ordered grand slams that they devoured. I got some bright yellow scrambled eggs with my order so I assume they were egg beaters but everything was just okay. My wife ordered a skillet and the portion was kind of small so I shared my waffles with her; if you're hungry go with a different item that offers more food. Of course during my meal we mentioned our creamer request 3 other times that I finally grabbed my son's milk and just did it myself. After this mediocre meal I paid my $60 bill that I could have got the same quality and better guest service at the McDonalds down the street. I chose not to tip CHELSEA for her lack of guest service, attention, and her unprofessionalism with her coworker in front of a customer. When my wife almost tipped her in front of the cashier she scribbled out the amount and only paid for the meal. The cashier looked at the receipt mentioned Chelsea's name and said "don't worry I will make sure not to tip her." I feel that the cashier knew exactly the kind of service we must have received. I know that this place is a franchise but I do suggest to the management team to have both their servers and cooks step it up. They can get some return guest because of its location near the freeway and the airport. Highway 40 does connect multiple states so people who visit family or travel for business would make this their rest stop if they had better service and food. I do like a good Denny's and I base my standard on the franchise experience not compared to other restaurants because of the lack of options. But in this case drive thru would have been better and I could have used the extra cash for gas.

Best banana walnut pancakes I ever had. Very friendly staff. They saved a coffee thermos I left there for 3 hours.

What can I say? I wish I could give myself one star for my decision making skills this morning. One thing Denny's has going for them is consistency and I knew that walking in the door. My son's French toast was under done and when they sprinkled it with powdered sugar they got it all over my breakfast sandwich. The coffee was a step above motor oil and the hash browns were over salted and greasy. Maybe one day I'll learn my lesson. Today is not that day.

I've been in there twice to use the wi-fi. As a vegan, coffee and french fries are pretty much the only things on the menu that I can order. I know the servers are disappointed by small orders, so I tipped more than I would usually would (over 25%) the first time. Still, when I came back & it was established that I was just having tea, it seemed like they were doing everything in their power to get my boyfriend & I to leave. They spilled coffee next to us and didn't clean it up. Our server seemed to take extra pains to very loudly clank every last dish and spoon as he hurled them in the tray. The guy going in and out of the kitchen yelled "DOOR!" at the top of his lungs every ten seconds. The server yapped audibly about other people's sexual fetishes, including one involving pineapples. None of this happened, mind you, when the three little old ladies were seated next to us...presumably, they were all ordering Moons Over My Hammy & pie a la mode rather than coffee. Once they left, all bets were off. The entire staff came out to join in the social hour. It seemed like at least one or two of them were on meth. The whole experience was traumatizing enough that I finally called Cable One, paid their 100 dollar deposit, and ordered at-home internet..so in that respect, I'm grateful to the Holbrook Denny's for giving me that extra little push. ;) Two stars because I got two tea bags the first time around...

Food was mediocre at best, service was no better. Hashbrowns were barely cooked Had a key card for the local hotel for 10% off, in hand and shown...only be told i was to say something to cashier, not the waitress. Debra was rude, period. Small smiles when she realized what she had said and how, do little to make up for poor choices on her part.

Manager was rude, kitchen was short staffed which took our food more than 45 minutes to arrive, waitress was doing the best she could buy I would not return here again

The food was blander than what is typically served in Denny's. Plus, the restaurant was dirty because the person who was vacuuming the area did a half hearted attempt to clean up the floor. The was even an unoccupied table that was not cleaned-up during the entire time we were there. Plus, the wait staff, while very pleasant, got our order wrong. One wait staff was spending a lot of time flirting with the customers. Maybe that's why the restaurant was not as clean as it should have been.

Not bad. Prime rib and chicken skillet is the go-to dish

Always delicious and affordable. Very busy location along the interstate so there was a 30min wait time but the servers were more than patient and respectful of the impatient guest.

So to be clear I have not been to Denny's in like 10 years. Not cause it was bad or anything just cause you know I always thought its for after going out drinking- which I have not done in like 10 years. Anyways myself, my hubby, and our 3 year old were passing through town and after being blown off by the Pizza Hut clerk on the phone we decided to go to Denny's to grab some grub. The food - mozzarella sticks and chicken noodle soup was REALLY GOOD. The service also- especially since my son puked all over the booth! Not from the food just cause we had been driving all day. So Denny's be forewarned next time we are in town we will be back -like it or not haha

Stayed over at the Travelodge. Got hungry, Denny's was in walking distance. Strolled in and was immediately seated. Brenda sat me and was my server. Very nice and outgoing. My food came in a decent time. The quality of food was what you expect from Denny's. All Employees seemed to get a long had lots of friendly banter between them. No complaints.

  • Alice B.

Horrible! I almost considered walking out! The host was rude. The waitress was acting stupid and not paying attention to anything. It's almost as she had a problem with me before I sat down at her table. Where is my food? My husband got his dinner at least 10min before I did! The best part, the manager is sitting with her friends in the corner gossiping about something? Am I interrupting something by come to the restaurant to eat?
