Went here for lunch with a friend and we ended up staying for what seemed like an eternity. Our waitress was amazing! Very personable and very accommodating, I wish I could remember her name...epic fail on my behalf. The cocktails are amazing, who woulda thunk, right? In the past I have only had the Bellini from Oregano's but this time we tried the Dirty Monkey and the Sangria, both were surprisingly good. The food was equally good! I ordered a half salad, which of course was the size of my head and it was very tasty. I am not so much a chain restaurant fan but Oregano's really was amazing on this occasion!

We were on vacation and Flagstaff has few awesome eateries. Small location but so worth it!!! We had a white pizza that was so good, I normally try to stay away from breaded foods so I ordered a salad as well. My husband had the pizza and I couldn't resist after one taste I was hooked and half of the thing! The waitress was so friendly and sweet and got everything right! I normally give very detailed instructions and she was spot on! She over heard my husband mention it was my birthday and the owner of Oregano's came over with a huge cooke and ice cream in a pan and said Happy Birthday to me and it was on the house! Such an amazing place, I would go back to Flagstaff just to eat here!!

We love Oregano's. We usually get a salad, pizza and wings a are never disappointed. The portion sizes and quality of the food are always good. The only thing we find annoying about this place is the service. It's not that the service is bad it's just that the waiters never let up or give you a moment to enjoy your meal in peace. From the moment you walk in they are on top of you trying to help. Some might like this style of service we don't. LoL.

Oregano's is great. The food is always good, the service is friendly, and you get your money's worth. Being in Flagstaff from Phoenix, I was reluctant to dine at Oregano's since I can go in Phoenix anytime I want, but my friend raved about the patio... and since it was a perfectly cool and breezy day, patio dining sounded like the perfect plan. We were seated right away (score!) and were led to a two-top table on the patio, which was full at this point. Our waiter was friendly and took our drink orders right away. After we ordered our meals, we sat in comfortable, relative silence just enjoying the perfect day. Our meals arrived (warning: only order the full-sized tuna sandwich if you are positively famished and feel like eating what really amounts to two sandwiches) and we dug in. My only complaint was that my sweet potato fries, for which I paid an extra $0.99 upgrade fee, were cold when they arrived. It appeared our waiter was very overloaded and it took a while for him to get back to our table. I asked for a fresh batch of fries, and when they came out they were piping hot and very obviously freshly fried. I'm looking forward to another patio dining experience next time I'm in Flagstaff. Maybe other locations aren't as good, but for a smaller area like Flagstaff, this is good food! Located right next to the NAU campus, what a better place to eat. Highway 89 is crowded with big, national chains with cookie cutter menus. Oregano's gives you something like a small, single shop restaurant. The wings -- great! Served Hot. Spicy but not dripping with sauce. We had a simple pizza with meatballs. It was great. Served HOT. One thing I really like, the soft drinks are served in 40 oz glasses. When you are really thirsty already and then eating foods cooked with garlic, it is nice to have a huge cup of soda and not constantly waiting for refills. The older house where Oregano's sits gives a bit of atmosphere. If you are going to the University, or just driving through town, you will be happy you stopped at Oregano's and not the cookie cutters!

Yay! This place hit the spot for us after a long day on the road. Even though they were busy, we were seated right away and our server was attentive and available for whatever we needed. Food came quickly and was great. I really appreciated that the waitress serving the table next to us began to clear the table quickly when one of the patrons was getting belligerent after drinking too much. They left without a fuss and we were able to enjoy our dinner in peace. We will definitely come back.

I am updating my review I had attended the Flaggstaff location and after having a not so good experiance the managment of Oreganos had reached out to me and made things beyond right , Which is great becuase enough people love this place my opionoin did not have to matter but they showed me that they did care and that in itself makes me happy with oreganos.We love going to the one in phx and are excited to try the new location at PV alot closer to home.

Tiny place, always crowded and loud. Good for kids. Great pizzas. Going during the dinner rush? Plan on a potentially long wait. But it's worth the wait. Very good service. Our drinks never got below half, and I didn't have to ask for refills. The salads were great too. Our waiter got a well above average tip. Parking lot is very small. Best to get there for dinner early to avoid the wait and lack of parking.

Should be called Orega-slows. Every single thing we ordered had a wait - want the wings, 15 min. - pan pizza, 35-45 minutes! - the cookie 15-20 minutes. I can't even imagine if we'd had to wait to get in (per the other reviews) plus then wait for the food! I'm so puzzled by these reviews. The service is really good but the food is just ok & kind of pricey IMO ($45 for 2 adults & 2 kids - no alcohol). The wings were too saucy for my taste but the flavor was pretty good. The pan pizza was very wet from the fresh tomatoes but the crust was tasty. I don't think we'll be back - it wasn't worth the wait for us.

Stopped here on our way through town, as a result of other reviews. Fun spot. Friday night, parking lot full, no reservations, so we had to wait 10 minutes. No problem. My wife and I shared the garlic chicken lasagna and the pesto penne pasta in a baked bread bowl. Very rarely do you get fresh crumbled blue cheese in a blue cheese salad. Great fresh flavors.

This place serves great local flavors. My sister's friend suggested this place when we road-tripped to Arizona in May of 2008. The interior of this restaurant was quite cozy, the portion was enormous. It reminded me a lil' bit of Bucca de Beppo but the price was cheaper, esp the drinks (about $5) and appetizers. I loved the Stuffed 'shroom & grandma's rosemary chicken pizza.

Over the years, I've actually started to like oreganos less and less. In Arizona, when you're near a college, there is Oreganos. Serving up HUGE portions of americanized italian classics, this is great place to bring your friends and family, because they'll be able to find something. The service is very friendly, the interior is very close, if you don't like sitting near people, try to get an "outdoor" seat. Their pastas are varied and all decent, I recommend the Alfredo the Dark, a spicy variant of Alfredo, topped off with a fried jalapeno. For the other pastas, they're generally bland and in the case of the Pasta Basta, which seems awesome with sun-dried tomatoes and pine nuts, is ruined by too much oil. Their salads are huge, but I don't recommend them. They end up being too oily, or in the case of the shrimp salad, 5 pieces of small rubbery shrimp. Their sandwiches are good, but the bread always tends to be dry and cuts the mouth. Also, you'll be taking half of your sandwich home. I suggest the veggie, and smear on that sauce they give you, because the sandwich is dry, and the sauce saves it. Why they don't just put the sauce on to begin with escapes me. Also, they serve with the sandwiches their waffle cut fries, in case you haven't had enough carbs/starches for 1 day, and those are pretty good, slathered in a mixture of chili oil and catsup. They have a decent selection of starters, including a loaf of bread slathered in garlic butter, calamari, UFOS( fried artichoke that NO LONGER EXISTS ON THE MENU STUPID IDEA ON THEIR PART), awesome portabella mushrooms and my personal favorite item that keeps me coming back, the Guacatony. It's simple, a very flat crust with multiple cheeses served up with their guacamole. Lastly, these guys get the Pizookie perfectly. Nothing else to say about that. In conclusion, I wouldn't go to this place all the time for Italian, but if I had friends, and one of them said "OLIVE GARDEN" I would kindly direct them to Oreganos.

Went to lunch at Oregano's the other day for the first time in a while. A word of caution for the winter months, don't go sit on the back patio, you will fry. The heaters are at a ridiculous level right now and I was seriously uncomfortable. We had to ask that two over our table be turned off. Our meal was ok, and the service was good. I'm just over Oregano's I guess.

Took the wife and kids here for a late lunch. Started with the Boom dip (suggested over the stuffed artichokes by our server). Excellent dip and plenty of bread for dipping!!! We had the sausage sand. and the Italian stuffed sand. these were good, I would give them an 8 out of 10 rating. I got the " added peppers" and it looked like about 6 pieces of peppers. If I'm being charged extra I expect to see what I'm paying for! No one can pass up the pizza cookie! Maybe I haven't been to an Oregano's in a while, but at this location they serve their pizza cookie in a cheap disposable pan, instead of a pie pan (which adds a little touch in my opinion. But an excellent dessert no matter how its presented.

There is a very interesting story as to how we ended up at Oregano's and our experience, trust me, its worth reading!. :D When my husband and I were on our honeymoon 2yrs ago (June 2009), we were on a 30day roadtrip going from Eugene, Oregon through So-Cal through Nevada through Arizona, we were going to go to New Mexico as well and back up to Montana, but funds ran out. lol We were at the Grand Canyon and had done the 3 mile hike in to the canyon on the North Side, and then back up again, a very exhausting but fun hike. The sign after you get out tells you to have a big rewarding meal, so we wanted to do that, but everyone said the restaurants just outside of the canyon park were terrible both in service and food, so we opted to go the closest town from us, which was Flagstaff. On the way there, we talked about what kind of food we wanted, it came down to Italian, and since there was no cell reception, let alone wi-fi going through all the trees on the way to Flagstaff, we searched the GPS for Italian restaurants and my husband had me write down all the Italian restaurants in Flagstaff on a piece of paper assigned by numbers, no names, as according to the GPS listings and then close my eyes and put my finger on the paper. The first one we landed on, when we called, we found out it was closed down, so I did it again and landed on, I believe #6, which ended up being Oregano's. We called in just to make sure they were open and everything and they were, so we selected them on the GPS and headed there. Luckily, when we got there it was late enough that there was not much of a wait, if any. The waitress we had was completely helpful, I cannot recall her name, I think it may have been Megan, but she was one of the, if not, the nicest waitress I have ever had. We asked what was good to order, and she told us what they were most well-known for, which was their thin crust pizza, which is what we ended up ordering. Now, I cannot have cheese, so my half of the pizza was cheeseless, but it was amazing for a thin crust pizza, and my husband, who doesn't like thin crust thought it was awesome. We also got hot wings I think, and calimari, which the calimari rings (though Maola's in Eugene, Oregon is a close second) were definitely the best ones I have eaten after traveling around 26 different states in my life so far. My husband Shawn loved the huge cups so much, he wanted one as a souvenier and after we left the building, he decided to go back in and tell the manager how awesome the service was and how we were going to recommend this place to people we know who might be traveling to the Flagstaff area, and told him he really liked the cups, and he gave my husband one to keep. :) We still have it and it made my husband very happy. Now, a couple days later, on one of our last days at the Grand Canyon, we decided we had to go back to Oregano's and this time, it was during the dinner rush, but we didn't wait more than 10minutes and it was worth it. We had the same waitress as last time and asked her about the Chicago style pizza's and she said those were her favorite, and my husband loves Chicago style so we got one, but we made sure to remind her of my allergy and that I could have no cheese on my side (since this time, I get a totally separate pizza b/c I am so sensitive if I eat pizza.) and she said she would make sure to tell the kitchen staff, and I knew she would. When we got out pizza, it was definitely one of the best Chicago styled pizzas I had ever had, great crust, generous toppings, the only problem was, when I ate it, I was like Shawn "The dough feels under cooked or their's cheese..." He didn't think there was any and neither did I, but as I ate more, I felt more and more sick and then I looked closer at the crust, underneath ALL of the toppings, there was a layer of cheese, but it was hard to detect, it blended with the crust. We asked the waitress about it and she was VERY upset as she said she did tell the kitchen staff to not put it on, and when she asked them about it, they just kind of thought it meant no cheese on top, not the layer of provolone they put underneath the topping on the crust and bake in to the crust before they put the toppings and sauce on....She was very distressed about this as she said she was very adament about the no cheese thing. She brought the manager over after she explained what happened, and after I got done puking in the bathroom, and he apologized for what happened and said we would get a new pizza free of charge. And we did, the waitress was so upset and sympathetic, she was awesome! As well as the manager, he was very happy to accomodate, and it turns out that when we got the bill, he actually took ALL the charges off, except for the calimari rings, so we got two pizza's for free. My husband loved the Pizzookies too! I am almost out of room! But bottom-line GREAT food and GREAT service!!! If you are in Flagstaff, GO THERE! God Bless ~Amy

Had high hopes for this place but it was a bit disappointing. I'm not a big fan of garlic or pesto and it seemed these were the only items on the menu. Had to settle for the baked pasta, which was tasty and huge but for some reason it just didn't satisfy. The pizza cookie (same as the pizookie from BJs) was horribly undercooked and borderline raw.

I also love the penne pesto bake, and tuna sandwhich. Pablo picasso salad is excellent and unique! Save room for the pizza/cookie desert! Fun atmosphere, and good vibe.

Situated on the eastern border of the NAU campus, Oregano's occupies a smallish house structure. The building's size and original function have ensured that seating quantity and arrangement are limited and intimate respectively. I'd estimate no more than 30 total tables between the inside and outside patio area. Parking is equally limited and the lot is much more difficult to navigate than in years past. Lunchtime and early evening dinner hours 5-7ish are often very busy, even when the rest of the city is in off-peak mode. No reservations are allowed, so parties often queue in clusters in the covered, front-patio area, waiting for a table. The dominantly female wait staff are friendly--sometimes too friendly with an exuberance you'd think reserved for seedier places like Hooters. Mostly, though, it's very casual, loud, and fun. The menu has changed very little over the 7+ years I've gone there. While nothing on the pizzeria-style menu is a gastronomical delight, the "stuffed" pizzas are tasty but take a long time to prepare. The portions tend to be extra hefty, and if the food's not enough, there's an assortment of beer--bottled and on tap. This is a great first-date, second-date, any-date restaurant. Older people might find the ambiance a bit too lively. I've seen kids seated comfortably in the patio area, but the high-top tables inside are not especially conducive to seating children. *edit: 11/2008* Oregano's recently installed some big comfy diner-style booths inside, negating my objection about the all high-top tables inside. All other attributes were the same--except for the parking which was a little better than before. :)

There is no better all around place to eat in Flagstaff. Sure it has multiple locations but that should be a sign of success. The food is always cooked to order, flavorful and the staff is always upbeat and attentive. The place is small and you may have to wait but so what. Great wings, pizza, pasta and salads. If you make it to desert have the pizza cookie. Seriously this place has it all. Compared to the other choices Oregano's has not competition(at least in Flagstaff)

My husband and I was on vacation to see the Grand Canyon July of this year with our baby. Our concierge suggested this "fabulous italian restaurant' so we walked over to try there food. The service was horrible we waited forever for our food. The ups is that they make there food fresh. Visited Oregano's during my very first visit to Flagstaff per recommendation of a nice girl working at an apartment lease office. She was raving about their pizza cookie! She said it was better than the pizookie, so it was a must! We visited for lunch on a Saturday and it was extremely busy. We waited about half a hour before being seated. There are tons of options to choose from -- deep dish pizzas, pasta, sandwiches, salads, etc. What nobody warned me about was the SIZE of their portions. I was craving a diet coke and thought it was justified with the unlimited free refills, but let me tell you, you won't need that refill... The cup was huge!!! I ordered their El Diablo Shrimp Pasta ($14.99) and was warned that it was probably the spiciest dish on their menu. I didn't really believe them because I'm usually disappointed by restaurant spice levels. I'll give it to them, it is a spicy dish. Almost to the point of discomfort, but it was delicious. I hardly finished half before I was stuffed. The dishes match the cup sizes. Definitely shareable. The second time I visited I was already moved into Flagstaff. My boyfriend and I came here again for lunch. Got their Original Italian Stuffed Sandwich ($8.99) and it was just average. Your typical Italian sandwich with pepperoni, salami, and the works. Loved that you get the option for waffle fries. The small cup of coleslaw helped me feel a LITTLE less guilty. The boyfriend got the Big Beef Sandwich ($10.89). So good!! I'm so glad we split half of our sandwiches with each other. Their chef's special sauce, whatever it is, really makes the sandwich. Highly recommended! Ordered the Brussel Sprouts ($4.89) as an appetizer and it came out after we already finished our meal. That was terrible... They should put that it will take 20 minutes to make on their menu. It was nothing to rave about, so I wouldn't bother ordering it again. We really shouldn't have, but we topped it all off with the Original Pizza Cookie ($4.99). Half chocolate chip and half white chocolate macadamia nut topped with vanilla bean ice cream. Needless to say, it was simply amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting or living in Flagstaff. It has easily become a favorite spot for me!

Hi: I've lived in Flagstaff for over 20 years, and have eaten at this great establishment many times. I grew up in Chicago eating Uno's, Due's, and Lou Malnotti's pizzas, and have always loved going to Oreganos for a little nostalgia and great pizza. Last night, however, was my first disappointing experience there, to wit: When we arrived, as expected, we were told there would be a wait of over an hour. I am 61 years old, and my wife is 60. The weather outside was superb, and there were at least 18 others waiting for their tables in various places in the parking lot. I find the waiting area to be cramped, loud, sweaty and uncomfortable, not to mention it doesn't usually fit everyone waiting for a table. So seeing a couple of empty plastic chairs I grabbed one and showed it to the greeter at the front steps. I told him I had over an hour to wait for a table, and since it was so nice outside, asked if I could just place the chair directly behind him next to the railing so my wife could sit. He immediately said no, that someone else might want to sit in that chair. I gently reminded him that inside or out, the chair would be taken by myself or my wife, so nobody else could logically sit in it in either case. He said "I'm not okay with that!" and stared at me. I obediently put it back where I found it and commenced to sitting on the pavement, right behind him, for the next hour. Perhaps he was merely doing what he's been told to do by management. Perhaps he just couldn't be bothered. In either case, I'd suggest that they consider a different way to handle the constant long waits for tables at their restaurant, and try to somehow accommodate the overflow from their tiny stuffy little waiting room, especially when the Flagstaff weather is so fine. On another note, the deep dish pan pizza we ordered was rather mediocre at best. My first negative food experience there. Far less tomato sauce, the crust was thin and also rather mediocre. Sadly, we decided that Oreganos was no longer worth the wait.

Normally good. We came at 1:22 and were told an hour. We're still waiting at 3:00pm. We said we'd split tables and were told it wouldn't matter. Yet tables of 4-5 we sat continuously for an hour. At about an hour we were told the table was "finishing up the pizzokie" but our kids went back there and saw that there were not any even at the table. I went up and asked 20 minutes later and was told "checks were down" which was another lie. Kids went back and did further recon and saw that they were just eating the pizzokie. It's one thing to be slammed on Labor Day, it's another to tell your customers stories 3x in a row.

I hate to say this, but I've never been a huge fan of Oregano's. For those who don't know about it, it is a small chain of Italian restaurants that mostly exists in AZ to my knowledge. It's not that the food is overly terrible, nor is the customer service bad, but I just don't get why it's so popular. I guess its really a case of you can't take the Jersey out of the Jersey boy I guess. Let me start with the food. I love the fact that there are generous helpings of food here. This makes the expense worthwhile, since a college student on a budget can easily make three small meals out of one portion of spaghetti here. However the food here just doesn't taste good. Maybe it's because I am from NJ or maybe it's the herbs, because I once got a chicken parmesan plate here that was overwhelmed by the herbs. Another issue I have here is that the place often gets crowded often which means that it can be loud, and the service will lag as a result. Still, I really enjoy their thin crust pizza, especially since you have a choice of getting green or kalamata olives on them in addition to the customary black ones. So given that their pizza toppings are excellent, I will give it a pass.

I've had great service at this place and I loved all the waiters and staff, they were fun to joke around with. Unfortunately it comes down to the food. I have had the worst food poisoning in my life here. It took me out for a week. Symptoms that come with food poisoning, you name them I had them. It was awful. I definitely do not recommend their alfredo just for this reason. After that, I vowed I would never go here again. The service was all that saved it from a one star review.

Friends and I shared a pepperoni pizza. It was good but wasn't anything I would rave about. I kept adding red pepper flakes to give it a little flair. The waffle fries were GREAT. To bad they don't have honey mustard available. The dessert was a baked cookie with ice cream which was delicious. When I go out to eat I am always very polite to the staff, stack the plates for an easy clean up, and add one dollar to a usually twenty percent tip. I've worked in food service and probably will again so I know how hard it is. From the beginning our server seemed annoyed that we were there and my friends and I had the feeling they did not like us one bit. Maybe they were having a bad day or maybe we misread the situation but we didn't feel very welcome. Hopefully it was just a fluke. I'll probably come here again at some point. The atmosphere was fun but quite loud with the music.

Food was good. Service was average. Parking was atrocious. I came in for dinner with my mom on our vacation up north in Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. When we came in the door we were told that we came in the "back way" and that we would have to walk all the way to the front, ask the girl up front for a seat, and follow her back to where we were to sit back down. Huh? Anyway, we ordered a 16" pizza and a couple of drinks. Our server was training a new girl and so while we waited for our food and drinks, she was training the girl like a foot away from us. No biggie, it's a college town I get it. Service sucks everywhere. It is just the (sad) reality of eating (or drinking) anywhere near a college campus. I went to ASU, I get it. So the food was fine. The pizza was WAY more than what we needed for two people and I'm a pretty big dude. So keep that in mind when ordering. Food was a bit pricey I might add and I've experienced better for the money to be totally honest. Now the worst part of the experience was attempting to get out of the parking lot. There is only one way in and out, and people are trying to get behind you for your spot while you're trying to get out. Oregano's would be well-served to expand that lot if they want people to come back. Of course an alternative could be to just offer poor service and they could alleviate the parking problem that way as well. Their choice.

I don't know why, but every time I come here, I feel like the waitresses flirt with him at the table. I'm not the jealous type at all, but it's simply unprofessional and should stop, especially considering that half the time I'm the one that pays for the meal. Anyhow, on this specific night, all she could do was turn her back to me and play babyface with him. Come on. Not cool. The food, however, is always great. I usually order some type of pasta or salad, and my boyfriend always orders a pepperoni pizza no tomato sauce sub buffalo wing sauce. Takes an understandable amount of time to make and be served, and always tastes good. Their pizza cookies are delish as well, but whenever we are in Flag again, I honestly will debate coming here because of the touchy-feely, flirty waitresses.

I stop here every time I am in Flagstaff. The people are really nice. The food is GREAT!!! I love the Grandma G's Rosemary Potato and Chicken pizza and the Alfredo in the Dark is delicious! It is a friendly, comfortable, fun atmosphere. The servings are generous and priced nicely too, so you wont leave broke or hungry. Great for a date or the whole family.

This place was recommended by a family member that use to live in the area so during my family's stay here we went and had dinner. If your looking for fresh Italian food this is the place! The Alfredo the Dark plate with Italian sausage was amazing! Unbelievable flavor! My wife got the chicken garlic lasagna and was very impressed with the freshness and flavor. My kids tried the pizza and loved it! I can't recommend this place enough. The Staff was great and gave my kids fresh pasta dough to play with until our food arrived. Go check this place out!

The family loves Oregano's. Until now, the service has always been the best thing about Oregano's. The food has always been good, but in a comfort food kind of way. I could be wrong, but all the familiar faces at this location are gone. We had a couple of slices for the kids. These were OK, but really dry. The salad we shared was passable, but the lettuce was not the quality we expect from them. There were obvious brown lettuce chunks in there. We ordered a tuna sandwich that came out with three chunks of romaine, two of which were the ends with no green, one of which was brown. The tomato slices were grainy and obviously not fresh. The tipping point for us was the giardiniera, or rather, the way it was handled. It came out filled to the rim of the plastic cup and was only about one third giardiniera. The rest was oil that was spilling all over. We asked the man passing by (apparently the manager) about it and he was really dismissive. He didn't even offer to get some more lettuce. He just said that is the way it comes. To his credit he did go drain the oil off the giardiniera, but spilled it all over the table and floor and walked away. As long as my wife and I have been together, she has never made a call to make a complaint. This was the exception. She called the corporate office and they said they would mail a gift card. I know this sounds petty, but it showed up and it was only $10. It was not even enough to cover the cost of the untouched sandwich. I gave it away. Arrivederci, Oregano's.

This place sucks. The staff is clueless and doesn't know how to recover when they drop the ball. Instead, they just hope that you don't call them out on their poor service And god forbid they have to make it right with their customers. They try to manufacture a feeling of something special going on inside with these phony wait times that they know are inflated to create a sense of being busy. In reality they can't handle more than a few customer orders due to being total amateurs. Oregano's you think you all know how to make a great pizza.......ahhh think again, frozen pizza is better. In the end this place sucks not worth the time, wait, money, or effort. Be nice to your loved ones and choose a real bistro with a trained waitstaff that knows its job and does it well. P.S. I saw a roach in the bathroom. You decide. Zero stars is too nice. Garbage in garbage out is the motto here.

We were famished after bagging Mt. Humphrey and remembered that Flagstaff had an Oregano's!! Great value, as portions are ENORMOUS. You are forewarned. We had a very friendly server who was just as excited as we were about our successful summit. Ok, food: we ordered the Pablo Picasso salad, the sausage and peppers pasta, and the chocolate chip pizookie. Oh heavens, the sheer amount of food consumed and left over = astounding. The salad was terrific, lots of textural interest with the tortilla chips and veggies and dressing....the pasta was perfect, spicy sausage succulent....and the pizookie was just fantastic. Warm cookie topped with cold ice cream = YUM. The only drawback would be the wait time for a table. This place is ridiculously popular, both in Flagstaff and Phoenix. Be prepared to wait a long time. We didn't on this visit because it was about 2pm (off-lunch peak hour). Go and bring your own stomach pump. :)

One day I will figure out what the big deal is about this place. As a rule I don't like eating here (albeit I'm talking about the stores in the Phx area). We stopped in today because I didn't feel like looking around Flagstaff for something else. As per usual there was a wait to get in...again, not sure why, but there you have it. So, the food. I like salt. I will salt my food before tasting it. But HOLY CRAP is the food salty here. Again, its not just this location, it seems to be all of them. I'm not sure how you can make a pizza as salty as here, but they manage to do it...regardless of location. Overall, I just don't get it. I've never really been impressed with the food (regardless of location) and the wait times are ridiculous.

Amazing surprise thanks to yelp and the comments posted. We got into town very hungry and late so we needed a quick choice. The food and service was excellent. We each ordered entrÃ©e and had enough leftover for a picnic lunch the next day. The menu had a lots of other choices besides pasta. Fun atmosphere and lots friendly servers. Thumbs up to the owner.

Awesome experience! The food is great but the server is extraordinary! Sara was so attentive and when we had last minute guests arrive, she had another table brought in for them even though the restaurant was very busy! Oregano's was one of the first places I ate after I moved to Flagstaff, and I'm very glad that it's so conveniently located midway between my home and my office. The menu has some standard Italian-American favorites, but also some interesting dishes with a bit of a Southwest zing to them. My favorite is the Pablo Picasso salad (get beans instead of chicken and add some avocado, and you've got a tasty and filling lunch), and I LOVE the Brussels sprouts. I love that they're one of the few places where you can get multigrain crust pizza and multigrain pasta dishes. The portions are generally pretty big, and it's not unusual to get two meals out of whatever you order. The pizza cookie is delicious, but definitely not an everyday dessert. I saw that one person complained that it was nearly raw--it's SUPPOSED to be undercooked, and I for one enjoy the gooey goodness that is the pizza cookie. My main complaint about the menu is that they recently switched to Pepsi products, and everyone knows that the main ingredient in Diet Pepsi is grundle sweat. The service is friendly, and they treat regulars really well. At lunchtime it's usually not too crowded, but you can definitely count on a wait at dinnertime. Alas, they don't take reservations. On the whole, it's a pleasant spot for a good meal, provided that you have a little time.

I stopped at an Oregano's years ago on a cross-country road trip, so this was part nostalgia. After a straight shot from LA, my friends and I stopped here for a late lunch. It was crowded, but there were seats at the bar that we didn't have to wait for. Yeah it's a chain, but that doesn't mean the pizza's not good. There's stuffed, pan and my preferred -- THIN CRUST. Chicago-style. One friend ordered a HECK OF A SLICE from the Midday Rush menu. She chose mushrooms, anchovies and basil for toppings. It was a large slice, but way too salty. A lighter touch on the anchovies maybe. She added a small Caesar salad and that also turned out to be big enough to share. Another friend and I opted for the NUMERO ONE-O, their traditional combo of sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and green peppers. The smallest 12" size was more than enough for us. I liked that it's cut into squares, but like other thin crusts it gets soggy quickly so eat fast. It wasn't mind-blowing but still enjoyable. We also added an order of 9 medium WINGS OF FIRE, served with garlic ranch dressing. Good road trip grub!

Terrible. Pizza warm not hot. Then waitress served a half chocolate chip- half macadamia nut pizocokkie desert but it had peanut butter in it! Instead of taking it back she ordered a new one but we declined. But we're making you a new one....sorry it's not worth an allergic reaction. No manager ever came either! Waitress handled the situation poorly and the manager never came over, which is ironic considering the danger .

I have been dining at Oreganos since the owner started flipping his first pizza backing the 90's in Scottsdale in a small shop next to a gun store. I worked in Scottsdale down the block, and would be a regular for lunch. Stopped here for lunch on the way back to LA now. I get the same thing every time for many years: Bowl of Pasta with Chicken and side salad with house Italian or Cesar dressing. Both are great and the taste has not changed ever. If I have time to wait: Roasted Chicken Lasagna. Not a big fan of their pizzas, but many peeps are. Service is always excellent. Looking forward to the next time we are near an Oreganos again.

Are all Oregano's alike? Yes, thankfully! Because we have a NAU student, we get up here a few times a year. This Oregano's is one of the places we try to stop to have lunch or dinner. Down in Phoenix we have two Oregano's near our house, but they get pretty crowded. This one can too, but it seems easier to get a seat. Oregano's tries to bill themselves as a Chicago deep dish place. They do a go job at it too. But, you wouldn't mistake them for Connie's, Geno's, Giordano's or Lou Malnati's. Actual their thin crust reminds me of Edwardo's and is very good. One of our favorites is the Chocolate Chip Cookie dessert pie. It's something we all like, but never can finish! LOL Besides the pizzas, you can also salads, pasta or a sandwich. The salads are huge and run in the $6 to $11 range and are very good as well. We haven't tried any of the sandwiches, but they look great as they've past our table. Enjoy!

I've always enjoyed this place. Be warned that if you don't have reservations during a dinner meal, you could be waiting for awhile. Parking can be a hassle. Just park on the street around there. Their flat-bread pizzas can be equated to a huge cracker with interesting toppings. I love it. It's worth it. Try the calamari as well! You can't go wrong!

Oregano's is clearly a popular spot. We arrived around 5:30 p.m. and was greeted with a 45 minute wait. Totally worth it...and expected (I called ahead to see if they take reservations--they don't). We ordered a deep dish pizza and I have to say, it was pretty close to authentic Chicago pizza. (Almost as good as Rance's, if you're from the OC, CA area.) We also split a basic salad and garlic cheese bread to start, since the pizza takes about 40 minutes to bake. Holy HUGE amount of garlic cheese bread! I was shocked when it arrived. They don't mess around with their portion sizes. The bread was delish and we had to put it to the side to keep ourselves from finishing it. All the salads on the menu looked incredible, but specifically the Mexican one looked fantastic. We later saw it being brought to another table and I'd wished we had more time in Flagstaff to return one more time. Overall, everything we had was super yummy and service was great. We always had full drinks and had zero issues! We'll be back if we find ourselves wandering Flagstaff again.

Went to Oregano's at about 5:30 on a Monday afternoon with 8 hungry people. The friendly staff immediately set up two tables for us in the back room which had fold-in windows letting the cool fresh air in. Very nice atmosphere. The salads are huge and delicious with fresh and tasty ingredients depending on what you get. A small will easily satisfy two people. There is a surprising array of entrÃ©es. Everyone got something different from sandwiches to pizza to pasta and all were very good. The young waitresses were all very energetic and friendly and they were happy to make individual bills for everyone in the party of 8. Keep up the good work, more restaurants should take the hint.

As much as I like Flagstaff -- and I really do -- I get discouraged by the preponderance of chain restaurant dining choices. I was in the final days of a long road trip and I desperately wanted pizza so I found Oregano's on Yelp. I wanted to dine in but the parking lot was full and the restaurant was packed with happy folks enjoying their meals so I ordered a margherita pie to go. After 20 minutes, I couldn't wait to settle down for a bite. I love thin crust and this pie was as thin as anything I had during my many years in NYC. Initially, I was disappointed that Oregano's doesn't use buffalo mozzarella but I was pleasantly surprised at their 4-cheese mixture: an odd twist that works well. The flavor was fantastic. When I next pass through Flagstaff, Oregano's will be on my itinerary. I'd love to try the rest of their menu but I don't think I'll be able to refrain from ordering another margherita pie.

We stopped in on the last day of our cross country trip. I really loved the food, but what I will remember the most is the staff. The minute we walked in everyone greeted us with a big smile and a big hello. It was almost like we were their family whom they hadn't seen in awhile and they were welcoming us back home. It was so great to be treated that way. Even though I do not work in the restaurant business, I am going to try having their attitude in the kind of work that I do. I wish there was an Oregano's in Los Angeles because I would eat there as often as possible.

Oregano's a five star yelp restaurant based on their pizza. However, this two star rating is NOT purely based upon the quality of the pizza. You will never get to taste the pizza because the line will be 2+ hours. You'll never get served and this is assuming you find a parking spot. The preparation and craftsmanship of any pizza really gives it character. Sorry to say, I feel this pizza is hastily made and lacked completely, A CRUST. Though the taste was decent (sausage and spinach toppings) and the service was friendly, I felt right away the pizza was not "handmade", but rather assembled with pre packaged parts. A crust is developed by hand stretching. Overall it was an average eating experience but topples Olive Garden by far. Decent place to visit in Flagstaff if you have some time.

Nom. Be sure you score dip with pizza bread cuz if you're going carb-tastic, this is the way to do it. Service is super friendly and fast and they have great lunch specials.

Oregano's is so good that I eat dinner before I go so I can hold out the hour it will take to seat our tiny party of three and the extra 45 minutes it takes to cook the deep-dish lasagna pizza. My friends also have to account for the extra 30 minutes it will take me to look over the menu- how can I possibly decide between all that awesome thin crust pizza, the spicy pasta dishes and gigantic salads? Oh, and when you go it is always your birthday. The free pizookie is too good to pass up! And for what it's worth it is an Arizona chain...so not as bad as a national chain.

We were traveling through flagstaff, and decided to stop and sit for lunch. I don't know what made me choose this place, but I'm glad we stopped here. The place was kind of small, and the wait was a pain, but maybe because I was really hungry. Once we were seated, the server was great! Informative and attentive. We got the Boom Dip, which was the best!!! I could just eat that for my meal! The pizza was very good. We had some Chicago deep dish. I was stuffed and had to let my wife drive. When traveling, going to try and stop here more often.

This was the first Oregano's I had been to and so thought that it was specific to Flagstaff. However, I soon found out they have many locations. With that said, I'm usually don't put much stock into chain restaurants, but was pleasantly surprised by this one. The food, atmosphere, and staff were excellent. There was a wait at this location, which I'm guessing is the norm. The seating near the entrance was full, so my group and another sat on a short wall in the parking lot. Not ideal, but the staff were more than understanding and they brought us water and cheese bread to help the time pass. Kudos for that effort of generosity. Once in, the dining area was fairly small, but they had the outside deck area (don't know what to call it) opened up, which made it feel a bit more spacious. The retro 50s feel was not over the top and tastefully done. I ordered the Pesto Penne Bake and it was quite sufficient. Overall, this was a pretty a great Oregano's location.

Tried Oreganos for lunch today, we are locals but haven't been here in awhile. Service staff was arguing, Oregano's Favorite salad tasted stale and old, pizza had very little flavor. Italian Gold wings were very good, as usual. Not sure why locals would go here with Fratelli, Nimarco's, etc.as much better options.

Went to Oreganos based on reviews from yelp, needless to say we were not disappointed. We had a long waiting time but once we were served it was worth the wait. Best part if you have the room to spare and people to share with, try the pizzokie. Who can't love a delcious warm cookie with ice cream? This is personally one of my favorite Oregano's, even with the multiple locations in the valley. That says a lot.

Buffalo Wings!~ I ate there for the first time. This place depending on the time of the day, you may have to wait 2 hours to get a table. It's quite popular. But my friends and I went there around 4pm and we got a table right away. An hour later, there was a line already. The dishes are pretty big and the price is decent. I went with 3 other friends and we only order buffalo wings and a Chicago Pizza, I think that's what it was called. The crust was thick...on the side view. However, when you eat it, its crunchy rather than soft like the thin crust pizza. The size of the pizza was pretty big. The buffalo wing was really good. When you add blue cheese with it, it taste better! But 4 of us was really full and there was left over too. The service was pretty good. They would ask occasionally how we were doing and such. There are comfy seats. Kinda bouncy. I would definitely go again.

My boyfriend and I are exploring the culinary offerings here in Flagstaff. He just moved here and I will be spending a lot of my time here in the next six months. We were in search of a pizza joint that could serve chicago-style stuffed pizza almost equivalent in greatness to Zachary's in the Bay Area ( yelp.com/biz/zacharys-châ€¦ ). We got the sproccoli--spinach, brocolli, garlic, cheese all stuffed into their 12 inch crust (which, for the record, is larger than 12 inches in diameter). SO GOOD! Also, we had a regular sized caesar salad--it was HUGE! I definitely recommend getting a "Jr." size if you are having a salad as an appetizer with a pizza. We each could only stomach one slice of pizza each--we took home almost an entire pie! We will definitely be coming back. And, for only $20, we will be having Oregano's for Take Out as much as I can convince my boyfriend to go for it.

This place was awesome! The food was amazing, big portioned, and was served with enthusiasm and hospitality. The restaurant itself is a cozy little building thoroughly decorated with Italian-esque decor. The staff seemed happy to be working and serving you. They don't work in a traditional waiter/waitress style manner; they all share the tables and take care of you as they see needed/you request service. Even while we were waiting to be seated, they brought out a thin crust cheese pizza for us to sample. This, as they hope, confirmed our willingness to wait. The food was unbelievably good. It came in a timely manner and was served in big portions. All 4 of us had to get to-go boxes. For our appetizer, we got the BOOM dip, which is a spinach artichoke dip served with strips of seasoned flatbread. I got the Pesto Penne Bake which is pesto penne with sun-dried tomatoes baked in a bread bowl with mozzarella cheese on top served with garlic bread. For dessert, we got the Dessert Pizza Cookie, which is a chocolate chip and/or white chocolate macadamia nut cookie baked in a pizza pan served with ice cream on top. Very good choice to end the night. Just be sure to save room for it when eating your entree. Overall, this was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone! One of the best choices in Flagstaff!

We stopped by about 9:00pm on a Saturday night. The place was clearing out but the manager welcomed us anyways. The food came quickly and our server was super nice. I recommend the Kick Butt Cheesy Bread and Pizzookie. We also had their meatball sandwich which was good but not great. This location is smaller than the other Oregano's locations I've been to in the Phoenix area but the food was just as great. When I am in Flagstaff again, I can count on Oregano's.

Is this as good as the other Oregano's I've visited? Yes. Unfortunately, the Flag location feels even smaller than the other places we've visited, which means long waits--which are the norm at Oregano's, so you learn to love it. And the parking lot is tiny, so you'll probably have to park semi-legally around behind the bank. While waiting, the manager came out with some cheese bread and marinara sauce for dipping, a nice little touch. And, of course, the pizza was excellent and the dessert cookies delicious. For the kids, they each got a very large slice of pizza (about New York slice-sized) for just $1.99 (with something more for a topping), and a very large cup of milk for just $0.69 (maybe that was a mistake on their end, that seems too low). How awesome. And the kids got a ball of dough to play with, which was a big hit. Love this place.

I would have given them 4 stars, but I was disapointed with the warmth of the Beefstro Salad I had at this one. I've been to their location in Scottsdale and the salad was to die for, at this location it was almost cold. Order your pizza as soon as you sit, it takes at least a half hour for it to be ready. Order a beer and enjoy the ambience, the music is usually fun. If you have kids, get anything other than pizza if you are in a rush. I will go back and have the beefstro, the dressing is delicious.

Good food. A Flagstaff favorite. Only thing keeping it from being a 5 star is the fact that you always have to wait for a table unless you get there early because it is tiny. Oregano's is a great establishment with restaurants all over AZ. We were happy to fun one on our trip to Flagstaff. Just like the other spots, the atmosphere was quaint and had a good vibe. We had the Beefstro salad with some Parmesan Wings. Good was delicious (as always) and service was great. Can't wait for the Goodyear location to open!

I knew of Oregano's since my time in Tempe, so when I had the chance to get to Oregano's here in Flagstaff I knew that I would not be disappointed. Once again the food was well worth the wait and whatever I have ordered from the salad, pizza, wings, they have all been great. Is there anything better than Oregano's?

Worth the wait. Plan on having a relaxed slow meal here. No need to rush! The atmosphere is casual and friendly. Alfredo the Dark is creamy and delicious. Don't count calories if you are going to be eating this one. I also like the baked ziti, enough for you to have 2 more meals after you go home. Always save room for a pizookie. They come fresh out of the oven still gooey and covered in melting vanilla ice cream... I want one now! The actual restaurant is small, it looks like it was an old house. The patio is perfect on a summer night or afternoon. I have not had a bad experience with service there.

Bazooooookiiiiieeeee! Me wanna bazooookkkkiieee cooookie! Warn chocolate cookie in its own little pan with melted vanilla ice cream on top? Oh yeah. Dessert is a meal in itself here, but that's not the only thing that makes Oregano's great. We went to the original location in Tempe for years and were stoked to see this Arizona-based chain open a location in Flag. If I had to describe Oreganos in terms of Sesame Street characters, it would be somewhere between the Cookie Monster, Count von Count and Hoots the Owl. The fam goes nuts for the desserts, the quality is count-on-it-consistent and the big band music swinging in the background makes you want to snap out an eight count with your entree. Five out of six Sesame Street characters agree that this is their happy place in Flagstaff (Oscar says the lack of parking makes him grouchy). Sure it's a bit commercialized, but just because it's a chain doesn't mean it isn't good. The mishmash of spicy marinara and fresh mozarella makes for a happy id within us all. The continuity in flavoring is comforting to the compulsive ego and the "big rig" pasta with chicken is my go-to dish for daily dining dilemmas. The pizzas are perfected to a plethora of palettes and the bazookie cookie is the... um, forgive the mixed metaphors here (as well as the overabundance of alliteration in this paragraph, for that matter) icing on the cake. My somewhat campy review wouldn't be complete without a nod to the kitchy tees worn by the staff--"Legalize Marinara!" and "Garlic Breath is SEXY!" Overall, Oreganos is definitely a contender for best Flag fare you can afford to eat every week. See ya there!

This location does not disappoint! Chicago style thin crust pizza is the best! Sandwiches, salads, wings and pasta are great too and super-sized! NOTE: YOU WILL WAIT FOR ABOUT AN HOUR PLUS!! So, if you are gonna want to eat at 7, arrive at 530, check in and have a drink! Staff is friendly, efficient and - very easy on the eyes to boot! Family friendly too - kids can ask for pizza dough while they wait... Enjoy!!

I don't know what these reviews are all about. I really enjoyed this place, chain or not. It is small, but wonderfully decorated with old albums (my table was Bing Crosby's head with a Santa Hat--the cover of the White Christmas Album). I'm giving it 5 stars. Our wait was only 15 minutes, and they served us cheesy bread and let us bring our drinks out while we waited. I read the story of Lawrence Gibbilini, the father of the founder, who loved Sinatra and old stuff. Inside the restaurant, lots of old "stuff". (Not including the patrons, who were mostly walking from NAU campus nearby). My friend had a number of drinks, which she enjoyed, but not as much as I enjoyed the music and the album covers... many of which I own. I ordered up some Italian Guacamole, which was sinfully great, along with the flatbread they served it on. I should have stopped there. My friend and I both ordered up baked pasta in bread bowls with a side of bread. Hello, Carb Coma? Yes, I'm home. I took two bites and asked for a box immediately. It was good, but a bit mild. Mine was Pesto, hers marinara. She really enjoyed the Marinara, and said it had a kick to it. Due to the commentary, I asked our very pleasant waiter if the shirt he was wearing "Legalize Marinara" was for sale. He said they had just changed the tagline, and he didn't think so but he would check with the manager. Minutes later, the manager appeared as if in a dream. He brought my friend the shirt she was seeking. She's happy. I would go back for the atmosphere alone and order appetizers and dessert. And stare at Bing Crosby while singing too loudly. The best part? When I apologized to the waiter, he encouraged me. :)

Mmmmm. This place is so yummy. Parking is tough and sometimes you may have a long wait as the place is small. Their wings (Italian Gold!!)are awesome and I love the Frisco pizza. It is hard to save room for dessert but you may want to try the pizza cookie.

While in Flagstaff recently we had some dinner at Oregano's. So delicious! The pesto bruschetta is so yummy and never disappoints. The pizza was good, not great. The service was slower than expected, but well worth the wait.
