We stayed in Flagstaff before we went visiting theGrand Canyon NP. While we patrolling the city, we found the Historic Route 66 Road sign and led us to this unique restaurant. First of all, the statue in front of the parking lot was really interesting. When we entered inside, the ambience was quite classic and attractive. The foods and side salad bar were quite OK, and the price is reasonable. I will recommend to visit this restaurant if you are in town.

Not a bad place to eat or grab a drink while in Flagstaff. ITs exactly what it sounds like, Granny's Closet and the decor reflects that. The food is homestyle comfort food and the process are good. Service was fast and courteous and our waitress was very attentive and cheerful.

So disappointed. I came here years ago and the place was quaint and the food was good. Not anymore!!!! Bland, overpriced food, mediocre service. So not worth a penny.

My family came up from Phoenix for Labor day weekend and we needed somewhere to eat dinner that could accommodate a large group with children. I called ahead of time to see if they had enough room for ten, and they said yes. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. It was 20 to 30 minutes before we received our drinks. Our orders were correct, but the food was awful. My sister ordered ribs and they were all fat, hardly any meat. My cheeseburger was just not good. Plain and simple. But then the check came. We had about 3 separate bills at our table and the waitress charged us each an 18% tip on the cumulative price for all ten of us. That means she charged all three bills with a $32 dollar tip in addition to our bill! She did not deserve a 96 dollar tip! My husband confronted the manager about this attempt at robbery that not only happen there, but at the bar (the bartender took his $50 bill on a $10 dollar drink and gave him back $8). The manager was quick to fix the issue, but not until he tried to justify it and my husband yelled at him. This place is crooked, incompetent and sub-par. Go somewhere else. Especially if you have a big group.

I've been going here since I was in high school, they used to be a great place to eat hang out and watch the game. Nowadays, things have changed. The service is terrible and the menu is always changing as if fishing for the next best thing to serve. I would recommend going elsewhere. The entire restaurant needs a facelift, it feels like I'm walking into 1975. It's dark dank and musty.

Had high hopes but like a Tom Brady football they were quickly deflated. Ask for medium rare and they brought out well done. When I mentioned it to the manager on duty he told me try it and see if I like it. REALLY! Let me chew on my old leather shoe it has the same texture. Baked potato was cold and hard/old potato. My wife asked for something else and they brought out instant mash potato's. With so many options in flagstaff I feel I was hood winked. Try LA Fonda they never disappoint.

If I could give NO stars, I would. Everything on the menu is overpriced by 30%. I ordered 2 small sides just to support the karaoke show I attended there...and they still charged me $2.95 FOR SODA WATER (yes, water with carbonation). Eat someplace else BEFORE you go there and just get the fresh baked bread

Ordered Ruben sandwich and a roast beef sandwich super tasty, our server, Nick, was continuous refilling my tea. I recommend Granny's kitchen to anyone traveling.

Well, I had the Navajo Taco lunch special, large, at $7.95. It was what you'd expect: chili with meat and beans, cheese, tomatoes, onions and lettuce spilled over fry bread. It was big enough, covering a whole plate like a small pizza. Fry bread was OK, but like most Indian tacos, turns into a sloppy mess if not eaten quickly. Lettuce was stale and limp. Overall mediocre but fills you up. Waitress rolled her eyes at me when I asked for the silverware that SHE said she would bring me and obviously forgot. $2.95 for soda? C'mon, get real. Nice sports-related decor with flatscreens at each booth with remote. Pricey blah fare, though.

Great place. Came to visit flagstaff to get out of town and some friends we were meeting out here told us to meet them at this place to watch some football and have some drinks. Staff was friendly and food was good.

Horrible...food, service, management. Wings were burned, salad bar was old and nasty, bread was hard. This used to be the best place...what a sad deterioration of a classic icon.

I checked their website and none of the e Specials were presented to us. We went on Tuesday and there were no wing specials. Their website contains no "contact" info. Guess they don't care anymore. Too bad it was one of our favs.

This place has gone down hill BIG TIME!!! We ate there last night, and we became very sick do to food poisoning!! The flavor was bland and was just awful. Not Granny's from years ago. The service was good, but that doesn't mean a thing cause the food is horrible. Also if you go on the website it takes you to porn site. Be aware of this place and just stay away!

TL;DR. 1 Star for disappointing food. 2 Stars for awesome Manager. Let me start this review by saying my in-laws had their 1st date here roughly 30 years ago. They decided to go back for dinner last Friday & had a fantastic meal. The meal was so great that the very next day, they brought my sister-in-law (S), my husband (J), & me back for dinner. We arrived around 7pm on Saturday & they seated us right away. Everyone was in a good mood that slowly turned into disappointment. Everyone had an idea on what they wanted based on the previous night's amazing meal. My father-in-law (Jim) wanted the flat iron steak - which was one of the specials. Jim had this exact meal the night before & since he raved about how good it was, both Jim & I ordered the special. I ordered medium-rare whereas Jim ordered his medium-well. J ordered the ribeye (medium-rare) w/shrimp scampi, veggies, & a baked potato. Both S & my mother-in-law (W) ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon. The night before, they had the same exact thing & said it was amazing. On top of this, we also ordered the deep fried mushrooms as an appetizer. About 15 min. later, our food arrived. The server said he had two specials. I asked which was medium-rare & which was medium-well. He didn't know as no one told him. I said that's fine, we will cut into them to determine. Both were medium-rare, so Jim sent his back to be cooked longer. Everyone else received their meal but there was no mushroom appetizer. I asked the server & he said he was unaware of the appetizer but he'd go check. Our waiter then showed up, we mentioned the appetizer & he said he'd go check as well. While he was away, S took one bit of her filet & decided she couldn't eat it. The filet was drenched in a red-wine sauce that tasted terrible. When she ordered the exact meal the night before, it did not come w/the sauce. (We checked a menu - it isn't supposed to come w/the sauce.) W had the same sauce on her filet & she didn't like it either. Both were unhappy & reluctantly ate their potato side dishes. My meal left a lot to be desired. There was a large mound of mashed potatoes, w/the steak slapped on top. Coating one half of the plate was a sweet chili sauce & the other half was a red-wine sauce. Veggies were at the top of the plate, a divider for the sauces. The sweet chili sauce was terrible& didn't compliment anything. (It tasted like the sauce you get any Asian restaurant & dip your wontons in.) The red-wine sauce was okay w/the mashed potatoes but the poor shrimp were covered in it. The sauce did not compliment the shrimp & they were basically ruined. Then the steak... Well, the first half of the steak I ate was acceptable. It was cooked medium rare but it was so drenched in random sauces that I couldn't really tell what I was eating. As I got further in, my steak became rarer & rarer until it was pretty much blue & uncooked inside. I had to stop at this point. All the while, J dug into his meal. He had no real complaints, other than his meat was cooked unevenly. (Really rare in one spot but well done in another.) Finally, Jim's plate came back w/the mushroom appetizer. W mentioned to the waiter that both her & S did not like the sauce on the filets. Our waiter said he would have them re-cook a brand new filet for each one of them without the sauce & off he went. We tried the appetizer but they were nothing special & we left them pretty much untouched. When Jim dug into his meal, he had the same issue as I did w/the sauces. The sauce was basically everywhere w/no real rhyme or reason. Needless to say, he did not like his meal. It was nothing like the night before & he was disappointed. As our disappointment grew, W decided she wanted to talk to the manager. The manager came over quickly, kneeled down & spoke at eye level w/my in-laws. He listened to our horror story & was extremely sympathetic. He told us the filets should definitely not come w/sauce & agreed someone got sauce heavy in the kitchen. He also told us that two chefs called in sick, so they were in a bind. Jim & W told the manager how awesome the food was the night before & that's why we came back. The manager said that he'd gladly take the meals off our check since they did not come out correct. Despite the food mishap, the manager was extremely nice, calm, collected, & soothed everyone. He was gracious & apologetic. We all really appreciated his candor & good attitude. We even felt a little bad about being so disappointed w/our food. Overall, the manager was really the bright spot in this dark story. He was incredibly nice & helpful & super appreciated. The manager really tried to make amends for all the mishaps. Sadly, based on the food, I wouldn't come back. My husband's meal, which was basically the only edible meal, was simply OK & not something I'd come back for.

Stopped for the night, wanted to watch some sports. The food was ok. but the service was terrible. We waited forever for our starters. then waited some more for our burgers. I asked for my burger med. and my fries well done. Came out burger well done and fries limp. Would have sent them back but didn't want to wait another hour.

Service is great and always friendly. The restaurant is always clean....however, the food is just plain bland. I've gave this place 3 shots and was disappointed every time. They need to put more "umph" in their stuff.

Stopped here on our way through Flagstaff. GREAT staff. GREAT atmosphere. PRETTY GOOD food! Hostess was so sweet and inviting! Explained the three different options for seating. We wanted the area with the personal TVs but it was full. So she sat is in the corner booth in our private area! Perfect for us with a 4 year old! Our server, Chandler, was kid-friendly with us and professional with the parties around us. Food was prompt and all our requests handled promptly. The decor was adorable! From the freshly planted garden out front, to the knick-knacks throughout the dining area, to the memorabilia on the wall. The menu had so many options. Took a few minutes to decide. We started with nachos. Huge portion. Not the best flavor. Needed some cheese for the bottom. We visited on a Monday so my daughter ate for a buck! Can't beat that, especially since she couldn't finish the big portion. My sister had The Closer, which she said was yummy and flavorful. My son had the fettuccine Alfredo, I had some, it was pretty good. My husband had the Philly. Said it wasn't anything exciting. It looked dry to me. I had the soup & salad bar. Lots of choices. Fruit options too! I'll definitely consider stopping again on my next drive by.

Walked over from our hotel as a recommendation. The service was horrible! And lets talk about the cold food that was served. The burger was over cooked with dried up and burt bacon. The teriyaki wings were not tasty. The only thing that was semi good was their chicken quesadilla.

The food is some of the worst in Flag. The kitchen tried to serve me what must've been hour-old fries warmed up in a microwave. If you must go, just stick to the drinks. I don't think the kitchen can mess those up.

Had to mug a staff member to get seated. The karaoke in the next room was at times painful as well as painfully comical. The rattatouille had a slab of mozzarella on top, not typical of the recipe. Our experience was probably the result of arriving 15 minutes prior to the closing of the kitchen ... or not. YMMV.

Just a sports bar with a boring overpriced menu. If u get tea or coffee the cups have a thick coating of smug build up. (Dirty).

We went here for Christmas - they charged $24.95 per person - for food that was over cooked and tasted terrible. They ran out of food repeatedly but still collected their money the worst part was the service and even so we left them a $4.80 tip - making the total bill $60.00 - so why did they hit my card for $67.00 - other than greed cause it was a terrible experience on all levels. The final straw from me - was calling the manager to complain - HE ASKED me why HIS server did that - are you kidding me - then he wanted the name of the server but the receipt was the credit card one as the one and in the middle of the call he hung up and when I called back seconds later now he isn't available hmmm very interesting - won't go back and unless you want to get ripped off!!

Stopped here during a road trip and there was little else that looked appealing in the area. Got seated quickly in a booth with our own TV- seems like this place has a few different seating areas. Liked that we could turn on a basket ball game and watch it without having to find a sportsbar- not that there appeared to be one anywhere nearby. Had just barely missed the happy hour, so didn't get any apps but prices looked good. BF is a huge fan of prime rib, so though our expectations were low, he went ahead and opted for the dinner special. Meanwhile I went with a customized burger with mashed potatoes and veggies. Customer service was rather lacking, but again, our expectations were low to begin with. Infrequent attention, lack of clarity when we asked questions related to menu items, that sort of thing. BF was hugely impressed with his prime rib- for $7, it was not bad at all. We have few options for prime rib back home that don't involve goign to a high-dollar steakhouse, so this would be a cool place to gofor this particular dish. My burger order, simple though it was, was missing a topping and did not come with the veggies we ordered. Despite the menu and my order, waitress seemed clueless about my ordering veggies or having the option to do so? Then when I finally received the dish, it was a bowl of undercooked sliced squash- totally unappealing and not worth the extra charge Ms. Waitress added on. So in short- TV booths are great, and the prime rib dinner is a good deal!

A step back in time. We skipped the sports bar and chose the dining room. Decor was a nod to Italy. The atmosphere was a hoot, Sinatra played in the background. Our server McKenna was attentative without being intrusive, which is a feat since I have a food allergy. He checked with the chef and made recommendations concerning my food choices. Always welcome in my world. Our choices were hot, tasty, and very filling. Oh, and the prices were friendly to our pocketbook. I would recommend to any one who finds themselves passing through Flagstaff.

Food was alright, service was awful. Over an hour to get sandwiches. The wings we ordered came out with the sandwiches and were cold; maybe if they brought them as an appetizer they would have been warm? Onion rings were good, went over a half hour without anyone checking on our table of 4, meanwhile our server walked by us to other tables multiple times

The food was ok.. I was a little disappointed with the food. I ordered Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad. The salad came and I started to eat the salad. The chicken was leftovers chicken shredded up. There was nothing blackened about the salad. It was disappointing. I also order the soup of the day which was Chicken vegetables soup. It was again ok.. I don't know if the chef had a off day but the food could have been better. The service was good and the atmosphere was pretty interesting.

Granny's is a very average restaurant. The interior as well as exterior is worn down. The servers are always good looking young college students, who can be anywhere from very friendly to highly rude. Their food is pretty good. The wings are tasty and the prices are fair. It's not going to be very memorable experience coming here.

Driving up from Phoenix, the original plan was to eat brunch at La Bellavia before the BrewHaHa beer fest but due to traffic we ran an hour behind (La Bellavia was nearly closed), so we just stopped at Granny's on the way downtown. I saw the 2 1/2 stars on Yelp but decided we'd decide for ourselves. The food wasn't terrible though our server, Makena, forgot a bunch of stuff. Took about 20 minutes for me to get lemon wedges (which he brought "freshly cut" cuz apparently it took that long to fall off the tree). He forgot the sauce to another dish, the side sauce to two of ours (which we ended up getting ourselves from the salad bar). He also forgot the root beer float my friend ordered and requested to have served with her entree. We got there 10 minutes to 2pm expecting it to be a quick lunch. Boy were we wrong. Our food took about 45 minutes to receive (to which you'd think was piping hot... It wasn't). Makena never came to check on our drinks or for refills, only to clear plates. We had to get up and ask for our bill because he never came. After 2 hours, we were too late to go to the beer festival, which was the purpose of our trip. Never again will I go to this place! I felt horrible to tip so terribly, but we had to make a point. :-\

This place was horrible. We stayed at a hotel nearby because my husband had fond memories of watching games at their bar whole in Flagstaff. As soon as we walked in and headed for the bar, we were pounced by two rude, young girls asking what we were doing. Apparently they had a wait for the bar which was only half filled. We let them know we were not eating but they said that didn't matter. We waited 25 minutes and watched as the two hostess girls basically turned away 6 whole families away saying it would be at least a 45 minute wait. We also witnessed a waitress sneezing without covering their mouths or washing her hands and one of the hostess girls was chewing away on her fingers whole rolling utensils. Ew. We finally asked for a manager after we kept seeing people go into the bar and sitting down without a word being said to them. We told the manager what was going on and he basically just told us to sit down in the bar. We decided to leave and not give our money to this establishment. I hope the owner reads this and understands the poor service customers are receiving and how much money they are losing because of their rude, unsanitary staffing.

Came here to watch football and have .50 cent wings. We also wanted to not go to Buffalo Wild Wings for a change. Unfortunately, the televisions in Granny's are not that great, they are hard to watch and had two that weren't even working. Ordered wings, they were burnt and we didn't eat them and thankfully didn't have to pay for them either. Overall, not a fun time and we spent 45 minutes there and wanted to spend a few hours.

Worst service I've had in Flagstaff. Go somewhere else if you want decent food. Every server we encountered was rude and seemed irked. I would recommend any other restaurant in the city.

Worst food that I have had in at least 5 years - maybe EVER. On the other hand.... Great service. Unfortunatly, the servers, while attentive and quick TOTALLY know that the food is horrible because they don't even mention that you haven't eaten more than 2 bites.....and continued to "sweep" the carpet. My husband ordered Prime rib that tasted - in his words - like "under arm smell". I had the "chicken fried steak" that was deep fried to the consistency of 1890 shoe leather that has been worn for an entire year by a house servant. We totally expect that in 6 hours - due to eating from the salad bar, that was weird - to be puking from food poisening. To add insult to injury... the gas station next door that sells snacks and beer smells overwhelming like a porta potty - we actually walked in and then out - no hesitation. The only thing good about the entire eveining was the really great BREAD from the restaraunt and wonderful servers who were friendly and were clearly loyal to "Granny" but couldn't help but lie about the food. Where is Chef Ramsey when you need him??????

This is officially one of the weirder restaurants I've had the .. um.. opportunity to eat at. First off, it's huge. The hostess gave us like two miles worth of restaurant to choose from when deciding where we wanted to sit. We were exhausted from just doing a 4 hour hike and the last thing I wanted to do was make decisions, so she brought us to the furthest point from the door she could find. So we take a seat in this oddly abandoned corner of the place. It literally is blocked off by a curtain and the table can easily seat up to 8. And it's just the two of us. So awkward and random, and hilarious. Ok, the decor. Like your Grandmother's closet vomited kitch and nostalgia all over the place. Oh wait, I get it, Granny's closet. But, I think to myself, There's no way they can dust everything in this joint! There's just too much STUFF! And then I start to get nervous for my lungs, so I stop thinking about it. Wednesdays is half off wings. Awesome, it's Wednesday! You can choose between bones or boneless, half or full dozen and like five different sauces. They were pretty good! I was happy. I really don't think I would ever come back, but I wouldn't be opposed either. Kind of a wonky little (or huge) place.

Wow I am sitting here at 11pm listening to BAD karaoke, while eating chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak is meh, but my husbands prime rid sandwich was good. Although you should stay away from the red beans and rice. You could mortar bricks with the beans! Service is great and its open. I guess when you are hungry you will endure bad singing. I am not sure if its was a good experience or bad? The wonderful waitress kept coming to ask me if everything was ok because I must of had this horrified look on my face every time she walked by. Can anyone at this place keep a tune?! I suggest staying out of here on karaoke night. I want to give it one more star but I just can't seem to get past the bad singing. Boy grandma must have been raised in a bar and gone deaf to have a closet like this one. Sticking to the normal bar food and breakfast seems to the safest bet with grandma cooking.

I have known the owners for a very long time and this used to be an incredible establishment. These days, I am terribly disappointed with this place. I have tried to give it the benefit of the doubt out of respect for the owners, but I am done. Latest Visit: (FOOD) Most of the food came out as ordered and our group was pleased. I ordered the boneless wings and they tasted bland and were not appealing to the eye- oversized dog food comes to mind. (SERVICE) There was no attempt to anticipate needs. We had to ask for everything we needed, including silverware, the sauce that we ordered, and boxes at the end. We were not offered any refills until we were about to leave the restaurant. She was pleasant but we mostly seemed like a inconvenience to her. Her hair was down and it was really gross to me having worked as a server myself for almost 10 years. Leaving the restaurant the servers and hosts at front seemed more interested in their conversations than the customers coming and going. 2nd Visit: (SERVICE) We placed a call for a Togo around dinner time for four people. Upon ordering we were told it would be ready in 30 minutes. We gave them a little extra time and came later since we expected a dinner rush. When we arrived we were told they were out of the lasagna we ordered. Why had they not called us and told us earlier?!?! We ordered another order of wings instead and waited for almost 20 minutes. When we finally got home we realized there were only 3 meals in the bag when we had ordered four! We were not charged for 4 meals but it was as if our original order had been ignored. What did we wait for 20 minutes for? When I called them about their mistake, they offered no correction or apology. The hostess who took our order and made the mistake seemed incompetent with her job. (FOOD) We finally got to eating our food, and it was COLD. I half expected it since we waited for another 20 minutes while our "4th meal" was made. The wings we ordered, we had to share since we were missing meal. They were terrible and tasted entirely of vinegar!! They used to be so good. The only redeeming quality of this visit is the lukewarm burger that wasn't half bad

The "all you can eat" salad bar is a joke. Yes, the greens were fresh, but for $7.99, I expected more than the average toppings: onions, cheese, olives, baby corn... I couldn't decide which was worse -- the green shade of the "anti-pasta" salad or the taste. The potato salad lacked seasoning and the potatoes were hard. The only soup at the salad bar was clam chowder, which I normally love, but I would have much preferred a can of Progresso to Granny's recipe. The only good part of the meal was the warm bread and soft butter. Otherwise, awful. I will never return.

This is yet another restaurant we found on route 66 by using our trusty guidebook (EZ 66 Guide for Travelers). The restaurant is the former site of the former Lumberjack Cafe. "This was home to the very FIRST of the GIANT so-called Muffler Men, an axe wielding Paul Bunyan installed in 1962". The retaurant was named in honor of "Granny" Ermalinda Zanzucchi. The food was ok, but nothing to rave about. Still worth of a "good" recommendation, and the portions were more than ample. We had the battered jalapeno raviolis, the veal parmesan, and the beef ribs. You definitely get a feeling of nostalgia for Route 66.

I so wanted to like this place! I had been reading about the history of the family and the reason for the name. I vaguely remembered enjoying a visit there several years ago. I have no complaints about the service. Servers were attentive and hospitable. They answered questions and filled orders accurately. Since I really love the idea of this place, I want to just suggest giving the recipes a once over. The spaghetti sauce is over-spiced. Spicy is good, but who wants to take a chug of a bottle of oregano? The barbecue sauce on the bbq chicken is acidic and needs to be sweetened. The baked potato, on the other hand, was perfect! I would give it another chance the next time I am in town, but I hope they will actually taste the food before they serve it. Do it for Granny!

The Short: Eclectic selection of American food that suffers due to a poorly managed staff. Pros: - Lots of quality items to choose. - Best salad bar in town. - Affordable prices. - Surprisingly good steaks. - Healthy AND tasty veggie sides. - TV booths! - Free bread that tastes like gold breadified. Cons: - Service staff is often inattentive and annoyed with you for coming in. - Service staff sucks. - They suck. Best Item(s): - Bacon wrapped filet. - Spaghetti (it tastes a little spicy!) - Steak sandwich. - Salad bar. - Ribeye. Interesting Fact: Service staff is trying to kill Granny and hide her body in her closet.

Service=Excellent. Decor=Kinda old school which isn't a bad thing, TV's in most booths. Food=Sucked. Ordered Lasagna, tasted like crap. Server took it back and brought out the chicken parmesan for me instead. The chicken was juicy, but the whole combo lacked flavor. Even the garlic bread lacked flavor! Giving this 2 stars rather than 1 just because of the service. I do not recommend this place unless it is for drinks and appetizers.

Seems the regulars only hang out at the bar,, tourists eat there,, We checked the reviews before going in,, So we went to the Bar had a couple drinks, and noticed most customers were not eating all the food, like only 1/2 a fish eaten when it wasn't huge, but to me must not have been favorable... the Mushrooms n mozzarella sticks look for sure to be frozen n dumped in deep fry,, Glad we didn't order anything. The STAFF on the other hand doesn't care and not too hospitable... guess not a big deal as the next tourist is coming in as we leave.. solid business due to location, but if it actually depended on Food and service, this place would be closed... They need a restaurant makeover here,, has potential, but so many flaws for being a restaurant.. Floor was as sticky as a movie theater.. YUCK

I highly recommend getting the wings. You can smell the flavor a mile away before the server brings them to your table. It is absolutely amazing. If you need something to do on Friday night, come to Granny's Closet for Karaoke. It is always a blast and they'll even do happy hour while its going on. The salad bar is not the best but everything from this place is a reason I come here often.

  • Jacqueline S.

Not a bad spot. We sat in the tv area which was kinda annoying having a tv right in your booth. I would rather sit in the bar area if I want the tbd. I had the meatball sub which was pretty good. My fiance had the buffalo chicken wrap which she did not like at all. The atmosphere was cozy, I suppose, and the bathroom was nice. It was so cold in there thou. All in all it was ok, I doubt we will ever go there again.

There are far too many good restaurants to eat at in Flagstaff that you never need to go to Granny's Closet. When I lived in Flagstaff I thought of this place as a genius tourist trap because it's right on the main road with a giant Lumberjack in front. It feels like the inside of an old hotel and feels like it should be filled with older folks playing Bingo. To set the theme of a macabre horror film. It's just weird. I somehow got talked into going here many times with friends while I was a student at NAU, most often for fans of the cheap wings night. It's gross, Denny's style food and even the salad bar looks like it could give you diabetes. The food is not memorable but I could care less because the servers and managers are far worse. They legitimately don't care if you have a good experience because they know that the next family to drive up from Phoenix will stop by on their way to Snowbowl. I had one particularly bad experience here and remember specifically asking for a manager. She was apathetic, did nothing to correct the situation and charged us for the salad bar even after my girlfriend told him she changed her mind after checking it out because all the food was spoiled. If you want to punish your stomach, just stop at Denny's instead. Oh - wait, the redeeming thing about Granny's is the karoke! It can make for a genuinely hilarious night. If you take me up on this form of entertainment remember not to order of the menu and stick to the drinks. On a side note, I knew people that worked here and have heard pretty terrible things about management and the owners. It made it easy to stop supporting this place.

The BEST tv layout in Flagstaff is unfortunately offset by terrible service and mediocre food. The bartender...a petite blonde with a beanie cap on...insisted that the only two empty seats at the bar were "taken"...over an hour later and the seats remained empty. I hate liars! After sitting down and patiently waiting, it was the manager who finally noticed that I had not been served. He sent over a very polite but overly stretched waitress. The fried zucchini lacked any kind of flavor or crispness. The wings were good but not anything different than any other neighborhood bar. Skip this place and support another local bar who puts more effort and pride into customer service and food quality.

Came here for happy hour and all I have had was drinks and appetizers. It was OK. One of those places you forget that you had been to, until you see it in your check in feed when you are trying to review something else. Happy Hour prices were decent. $4 well drinks and $2.50-$3 beers. All that was memorable was that the bartender was so busy talking down on the other end of the bar, and no matter how hard we tried to get her attention to pay the bill, it was like we were invisible. When we finally got her attention and recieved our bill, we noticed they had forgotten some items. We tried to get her attention again, she had disappeared, and after waiting awhile, decided to pay whatever tab she had thrown at us and left. Really not worth wasting more time here for.

Ok food, burger, ribs, calamarie fries were all ok, nothing special but equally nothing bad. Good for a stop off but probably wouldn't return. Pricing was reasonable also.

Granny's was a great stop for a hot meal that wasn't overpriced. I had the steak sandwich, which was a good 7 ounces, came with a choice of potato, fries, or rice, and was surprisingly satisfying for $9.99. Grumpy McGrumpleface had the grilled chicken wrap with a small side salad (substituted for the fries) and was also pleased with it and was no longer Grumplestiltskin by the end of the meal - for $7.99. Our server, Nate, was super nice and we got our meals in very quick fashion. (The special of the day was 6 ounce a filet mignon wrapped in bacon, for $9.99... Would love to try that some time) If you're looking for fancy, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a convenient hot meal at a good price, go to Granny's! 4 stars because I liked the meal and it was cost-effective. 3 stars if you wanted something fancier.

The food here is great. The service is great. However, the owner here tonight is a flippant little man who doesn't deserve your business. Both of the interactions our table has had with him, he's been a rude arrogant piece of...... well, you know. He's ruined this place for me. I'm telling everyone I know to avoid this place. DON'T GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS IDIOT. He doesn't deserve the quality staff he has.

My boyfriend, his mother, and I stopped in here Thanksgiving day as their family was celebrating Turkey Day on Black Friday when more could make it. The food is pretty standard American diner fare. They had a Thanksgiving buffet available for $20 a person, but we opted out. Really, not much makes me feel more like a red-blooded American than chowing down on chicken fried steak in a bar on Route 66, surrounded by men screaming about football plays on one of the many TVs in there. Service was reasonable, although we got a funny look walking up to the front desk to pay our check when our waitress didn't come back to make change.

Went to flagstaff to train some soldiers. Decided to eat at small town diners, first night we chose Granny's, worst decision ever. Waitresses need to learn how to smile, and the food wasn't that good, but the worst part is i feel like they visined me. Sick for the rest of the week after them. They ruines my time there. Now i will forever blame Granny's for all lifes problems. GRANNY'S!!!

I cannot remember ever having ribs that a serrated steak knife would not separate before this restaurant! They were absolutely inedible. My husband tried to cut them with no luck. I gave up and switched to the salad bar which looked decent to make a salad One bite and it was clear that this was simply a really cost cutting place. Their Caesar dressing tasted like flour mixed with vinegar! I will say that my son enjoyed a burger and his friend enjoyed his chicken fried steak so maybe I choose the items that they are worst at, but with the prices they charge be very careful what you order. If it is a burger or deep fried you might be ok. Of course you can get a burger for a quarter of that price anywhere!

Came here late on a Wednesday night for dinner. Place was pretty full ... it seems that Flagstaff has a better nightlife than Gilbert, which rolls up the sidewalks around 8. Had the 8 oz prime rib special. Meat was cooked right, veggies were excellent and not overcooked. Only complaint is that the service did take a long time. We were sitting in the bar and were tired. One member of my party had an early trip back down the hill, and our neighbors, who came 15 minutes later, got their food 15 minutes before us. The decor is eclectic - most certainly geared toward the ADHD public and kid friendly. Most booths have TVS. Menu is basic american fare and they seem to do it well. I'd go back. Its not much, but it is good for what it is.

This looks like it would be a great place to come and watch sports, the atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy with about 12 TVs around the room. My son and I stopped in for lunch on our way to go sledding and they had all the TVs on - basketball, hockey, golf, etc. along with tons of sports decor on the walls. My son's hamburger was pretty large for a kid's meal and the fries were nice and crispy. I enjoyed my tuna melt but I was unimpressed by the boneless wings. Service was friendly, with a smile. I would stop in again but instead would try the bone-in wings everyone seems to enjoy.

I enjoy a good diner every now and then. And while I thought the atmosphere here was interesting (if your grandma opened a restaurant this is probably what you'd imagine it to be) the food was sub par even for diner food and a bit overpriced. I was entertained by the apple "pie" a la mode. According to the waitstaff, supposedly, granny actually comes in once a week to bake these pies that aren't actually pies but a bowl of apples with a bit of crust on top. I just imagined this granny in the back back meticulously baking her special pies with careful granny kindness. Aside from the possible sentiment, if in fact they are made by granny herself, it was rather a disappointing dessert somewhat resembling a pie.

I went there for Karaoke night on Friday. Around 9:30ish pm there were quite a lot of people there already. The first thing I come in I heard someone already singing. It seemed pretty busy because waiters were walking around getting orders and bringing out the meal. Well, we were seated near the front of the karaoke room. I order Honey BBQ chicken wings. My friends order a Nacho. The waitress told me that chicken wings were 40 cents that night. How awesome is that? It tasted pretty good. When the Nacho came out, our eyes widened. It was such a big plate of Nachos. Crazy. There were so much cheese and in the center there was a bowl of beans. Omg, it was so good. My friends said we were in heaven! At that point I could imagine us sitting on top of clouds and munching on those yummy nachos. There were a lot of people who actually went up and sang in front of all those people. I actually was scared to think of singing in front of people. But my friends said we 3 could sing together. However, didn't get a chance because too much people and it was already midnight. But there were some crazy and fun people that night. I like it there, hopefully I'll head there again before I head home and be able to sing a song. Amazing night it is!

There are tons of different types of food at this restaurant (it's hard to even classify what type of restaurant this is) and a very nice full bar. This place is cheap in price for the most part, though I honestly feel that you can get the same item somewhere in town with much higher quality. The burgers are probably your safest bet if you eat here, and the karaoke on Friday nights it probably one of the best place that this place has to offer.

This is one of the weirdest places I have ever eaten at my in my life and I liked it. The decor was so... odd. Come to think of it, all of Flagstaff is a little odd. This was my first Flagstaff experience and I gotta say, it wasn't bad. We only stopped for a beer but stayed for dinner when we saw the Thursday night $7 bar menu consisting of a list of hearty homestyle dishes that are reminiscent of your grandma's cooking repertoire. I shared the eggplant parmesan, country fried chicken and prime rib sandwich with au jus dipping sauce with two other friends - all only $7 a piece. Yeah, I know, right? And we had shots for dessert. Come to think of it. this place is pretty awesomesauce.

So, I am traveling from the North Eastern part of the US and was wondering if the record was gonna scratch to a halt when we walked into the place. You never know. Anyway, my GF and I walked there tonight for a few drinks before bed and were greeted by friendly bar staff. I left a decent tip because the girls were so friendly. We had a decent order of 'rella sticks. Prices were very reasonable. The bar area had 15 TV's showing various sporting events. I know because I counted 'em. We had fun, paid the tab and left. I would go there again if we ever come back to this area.

It was ok. The salad buffet was the best part of the food experience. I had fish and chips. The fish was one big piece of battered cod. It was decent. I did not like the cole slaw. It was very dry. One bite and I did not eat any more of it. The medium wings were ok though. Not my favorite, though not the worst that I have had. Also ordered the chicken caesar wrap. It was more lettuce than anything but all of it was eaten. I did find the waitress Kimberly to be very attentive to our needs and very pleasant to deal with. It did make for an enjoyable dining experience.

My husband and I went to Granny's for .40 cent wing Wednesday. This was our first time and we were welcomed with friendly service and promptly seated. The server made sure to advertise the special and quickly got our order and our drinks. The wings were fresh not frozen then fired, The sauce was a little heavy but spicy and very good. Before long my brow was sweating and my stomach was smiling!!:) While we watched the playoff game on a TV at our booth, we enjoyed the food and service. Great place to watch the playoffs!!!! We also order a basket of fries which were hot and not overloaded with grease. We ordered two other rounds of wings and then plain wings to calm the belly. The price was right, the portions were great, the wings were great and we will definitely go back. ..... Will be back on Wednesday

I've been meaning to try this place and finally has the opportunity. Has an old school look, and the bar area is an NAU shrine. I had the burger special, salad bar and a pint of craft brew---all of which were outstanding. My tab was $15 which I though was well worth it. Salad bar was super fresh. Burger came with 3 toppings of my choice in addition to the standard lettuce, tomato and pickles. Will definitely return.

Awful! I have been here twice for a meal in my life and thats the last time for me. Food was just terrible. I dont get why this place is in business to be honest. I understand it is a dive but man you would think it being in business all these years, that the food would be at least tasty. I have had better food out of a Vending machine!!!! I can say maybe this place is OK for HH but other than that, I would not spend a dime on any food here. I have eating here once in 1992 and now in 2012. Thats it for me. Put Granny back in the closet cause she cant cook!!

The food was terrible! I'm sure if you are there for appetizers and beer you are good to go. If you are going to have a sit down meal. No go. We had the boneless wings they were dry and way salty. The ribs were way dry and had a very odd taste to them, not the sauce but the meat. The Caesar salad was mediocre and the Baconater burger was decent. Like I said appetizers and beer, you are good to go. We had the cheesy lumberjack fried and they were good but the actual meals weren't very good.

The service was kind and attentive, but the food and atmosphere was... Underwhelming. We're from out of town and came on a Sunday evening. My first choice from the menu, their "famous" soup and salad bar had closed at 8pm. So, after browsing about their (maybe unexpected) selection of food, I decided on Chicken Fried steak. The side salad I got was, eh, fairly mediocre; the lettuce was kind of bitter-tasting. The chicken fried steak I got seemed like it was pre-battered and frozen, and they just warmed it up; the white gravy that came on top tasted like chicken gravy(?); and the mashed potatoes I got were, eh, bland, even with gravy on them. The chicken Parmesan my mom got was pretty mediocre and plain as well. The response to all of the food we had was "It's... Okay." We both had about a third of our food left, and we both refused to-go boxes. They sat us in a room with TVs at all the booths, which, was a little annoying; a lot of noise from TVs being on different channels. It was... Meh. Probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone, doubt we'll ever go back. I think I probably would have been a little more satisfied going to Denny's.

It's never a good sign when you're hungrier when you leave the restaurant than you were when you went in. We arrived around 7:00 on a Thursday. Restaurant wasn't very crowded and the hostess promptly sat us at a booth in the restaurant. Decor was a little dated perhaps, but charming. We sat with our menus, made chit chat, decided on what we wanted. My wife got up and checked out the salad bar. Servers came and went from the various tables but none ever came to ours. We sat in the half-empty restaurant with our menus for 20 minutes and they never even acknowledged us. At least three tables were seated after us and had their orders taken. Made eye contact with the hostess a couple of times hoping to at least get drink orders...but nothing. Last straw was when a party was seated just two booths away from us. Waiter came within a minute or so to get their drink orders started. Tried to catch his eye, but he turned and left without even a glance. So we left and went to Olive Garden. The menu looks good, too bad we never got to even order anything.

I went here on recommendation of my boyfriend's uncle, who went to NAU a while back. He said the wings were phenomenal, so I had to give it a try. We were seated quickly, and the servers were super nice. We went with some wings and some potato skins, which didn't take very long to arrive. The wings were good, not great. The potato skins were not the best, the cheese seemed a little plastic-y. They were able to split our check directly in half which was awesome, but it wasn't the best ever.

Typical college bar- food -type -joint! Beers were cold, service was fair! Not much to complain about but, I wouldn't go out of my way...there are other options in town for better food... I have not brought the family here - my only visits were with friends for beer and cheap food.

Checked this place out after checking into our hotel because I had a good feeling about it. Decent simple food, good prices, and great service. Thursday was agood night to be there because of the special menu. Every item on it was $7. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and got the salad and soup bar for just $2 extra. The salad bar was pretty standard, but the ingredients were good and fresh. The soup was a little disappointing. The flavor of it wasn't bad but the noodles and veggies were mushy as if they'd been out there too long. The wings looked really good. In fact when I find myself in Flagstaff again I'd go back there to try them. Also the deserts sounded really good too.

I'd much rather be here, simple food and local color, for a highway pit stop than in just another chain or fast food restaurant. Little touches of fun and whimsy keep kids entertained, though I couldn't bring myself to sit in the section with the TVs right on the table. Much food very basic, simple, plain and way underseasoned. Salad bar was fresh if uninspiring. Soup (chicken noodle) was hot if not straight from a Sysco pouch. Batter fried jalapeno ravioli a nice app. Pasta looked forgettable, and Italian dishes not special. However, 6oz. option on prime rib for $9.99 was wonderful - not too overly heavy to get back on the road, but a steak for under ten bucks! Perfectly serviceable, and local. NAU students as friendly staff.

Everything about our dining experience was awful. Food cold, sloppy presentation ,indifferent staff attitude . Sent back a meatball sub due to the meatballs were cold, ordered a Reuben instead. It arrived swimming in it's own juices, soggy bread and you guessed it the meat was cold. No one seemed to care, the only time someone seemed to be glad we were there was when we were leaving. While stuck in Flagstaff due to car breaking down (see review for KC's Auto) I decided to stay the nite and restart trip to Grand Canyon in A.M. Once I checked into the motel across the road and got my dog settled I decided I needed a stiff drink (or 3) I had seen this restaurant while cruising the neighborhood waiting for my car to get fixed. Decided it's walking distance w/ food can't go wrong. Boy was I right. From the get go the atmosphere was very relaxing and the drink was strong. I ordered the American cheese burger w/ onion rings. The burger was one of the best I've had in awhile. Super juicy and so large I could only eat half. When I was talking to the waitress she inquired where I was staying. Let her hear my sob story. When she dropped bill off she let me know she gave me small discount for stating at hotel across the way and using the mechanic as well. Another example of local businesses supporting each other. OUTSTANDING! My only complaint was I ordered Capt and Coke and by my 3rd drink they forgot so I got Bacardi and Coke. No biggie. It did the job :)

Not many options in Flagstaff on a Sunday night after 9pm. This place was very fun both inside and out with it's decorations and tv's for every table (very cool); reminded me of something out of a PeeWee Herman movie! Hahaha..... The food is just aiite. The wings are what you should go for and that is what earned Granny's a 3 star. The watery spaghetti and the flat sodas almost gave them a 2 but their wings are a solid winner! We tried the plain and the suicide and both did not disappoint.

Well, my wife and I were driving through the area on a road trip and was very excited to find an ecclectic local diner that appeared to have some local flavor. Well, if that's the local flavor...I don't want to be here! The restaurant was decorated very well, with lots of things that may remind you of your own grandmothers house. But, the hamburger I had tasted like it had been previousely frozen. The meat was not very good quality. The bread they brought to the table tasted old. My wife was excited to see that they had a salad bar on the menu, but was shocked when she arrived at the salad bar to find wilted lettuce and a crouton container that she had to pry open that also looked like it had been there since granny was a kindergartener. Overall this place and its uninspired staff was a HUGE disappointment. It has SO much potential but falls flat for this tourist. Flagstaff is a BEAUTIFUL treasure that deserves so much more than Granny's Closet.

My boyfriend and I were staying in Flagstaff while we visited the Grand Canyon. We went to Granny's for dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere. We're sports fans, so the bar with tons if tv's was a plus. I had the taco salad, and the flavor was good, but the size was outrageous. I felt bad bc I could hardly touch half of it. My boyfriend had the burger deal, and I'm pretty sure he thought it was great. We would probably go back for some burgers and beers.

This place was great! I'm can't believe I haven't eaten here before. It's a lot bigger inside than it looks - it actually has three separate "wings" once you're in the building. One is an ultra-casual diner-style seating area with a TV in every booth, another is a sports bar (with, again, tons of TVs), and the other is the more subdued and TV-free dining area. My fiance and I chose the dining area, and were greeted by an extremely friendly server. In fact, all of the staff at Granny's Closet were absolutlely wonderful. The food was very reasonably priced, and the portions large. My eggplant dish was very good, and my fiance loved his fish and chips (it was the first time he'd ever had them!). All in all, a wonderful experience, and we will definitely be back.

Very nice place! Has an old school look with nice booth's. We chose the dining area which was nice. The bar/tv area is something that we not prefer but if you like to watch tv while you eat it is a good option to not miss out on your favorite program. They bake fantastic bread and have a lot of nice homemade meals. I would defenitely reccommend the place!

My final stop in the Tour de Flagstaff was Granny's Closet for opening weekend of football. GET THERE EARLY!! Tables tend to fill up before 10AM when the first games start. Also, each TV has the games labeled on them so you need to pick your table accordingly. The food is decent, typical bar food. Wings were pretty good, as were the nachos. Didn't have time to try any entrees though the breakfast looked really good. Drinks were ok, not very strong, but I was in it for the marathon so it was probably better that way. The staff was friendly and the manager was extra nice as he took the time to make sure everyone was satisfied and all the TV's worked. I will come back the next time I'm in the neighborhood.

We stopped here after our visit to the Grand Canyon and were not disappointed. We arrived during happy hour and on $0.40 wing night, I was very happy to have found such a deal. The wings were great and the service was friendly. The atmosphere was fun and we felt at home.

This is one of those places you don't forget because of the name and the decor on the inside. It's just trippy. It's some sort of hippie hangout. The food and drinks were okay from what I remember but it's the name and the decorations that will stick with you. How cool is it to check in at Granny's Closet? Lol.

This place was pretty good but nothing spectacular. It's like a local owned Chili's, good food but nothing fabulous. I got a burger that was pretty good, my boyfriend got a chicken breast sandwich. He said it was really good especially because the chicken wasn't dried out. Our server was pretty nice. We also got a booth that had a TV in it, that was pretty cool I do have to say. Next time I go back I think we will try their wings, a lot of people have said they are really good.

Been here for dinner on a few occasions and they were probably 4 star. For lunch they get one star. Absolutely terrible. Slow service, can't get drinks nor orders right, food took forever to come out, and annoying patrons with no sense of personal space. Lasagna was dry and tasted terrible, and manager concurred when spoken to on the subject. Garlic bread was dry and you could probably put a nail in a 2 x 4 with it. Mozzarella sticks exploded in the fryer and were 90% breading. Wings took probably 30 minutes to come out when another customers order of wings took 3 minutes. Why serve lasagna if the manager agrees that it taste terrible?

Stopped to get gas before heading to the Grand Canyon. This place was next to the gas station. From the outside, I was skeptical. Don't judge a book by it's cover. We were impressed. Inside looks nothing like the outside. LOTS of TV's. Great sporta bar vibe. Food was good/salad bar OK. I am giving the place a 5 instead o a 4 because of their bathrooms. Completely updated and very enviromentally friendly. If I am ever back in Flagstaff, I will come back!!!

Stopped by here on a road trip with a buddy. We were looking for a place to watch the Mayweather-Cotto fight. Great sports bar with TVs lining the entire circumference. They charged a cover but worth it. The place was full but not so full that it was has hard to move around. Basically all the seats in the bar was taken (easily 100 people). They have a happy hour from 4-7pm that is stacked with deals. As far as food goes we only ordered appys because we actually ate a couple of hours earlier. I, a sucker for calamari and had to order it. I know, I know, Who orders calamari in Flagstaff... I am that douche. Anyways the calamari were giant thick rings and were obviosly prepreped and frozen in a box but surprisingly tender. We had loaded potatoes; steak cut potatoes covered with melted cheddar, Bacon Bits, sour cream and green onions. Nothing memorable. We also had chicken wings. One set was standard bbq (tangy) and the other was sweet spice, kind of like that thai sweet chicken sauce. The later was a hit with us. By the was in a separate part of the restaurant the tables had their own individual tvs with there own remote. A bonus. Service here was great and attentive. Basically this place was a great find along our road trip.

This is a decent bar/ restaurant off the main downtown area, but on Milton. I really like the portions, big appetizers especially. But the wait staff is young and the prices are more than the price for, say a heart transplant. They do have a really nice bar and booths with flat screens. Come here for sports and at happy hour and watch some sports.

We went in there around 3:30 pm before happy hour started for a beer and some wings. So we went in the bar area where there were several TVs with all the days sporting events on. When we asked the bartender what the happy hour specials were he told us he could start happy hour early so we had $2.50 Sam Adams, Blue Moon, and Sierra Nevada's drafts. Plus they had cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon if you must. The bartender said they were famous for their wings so we got the super hot and hot, the super hot were not killers but hot just the same with a slight Haberno flavor, the hot were just right for the rest of our group. There rest of the restaurant had a few semi private rooms and one area had maybe 12 booths with flat screen TV in each booth. Primarily an Italian dining spot with a long history in Flag, judging by all the memorabilia on the walls. Bathrooms OK. Next time will try the rest of the menu.

We had high hopes for a good meal. We weren't expecting anything fancy, just some good food, but we were very disappointed. We ordered potato skins, which took 25 min. & then weren't what I'd call potato skins. They were really russet potato wedges with a ton of cheese, and because of the thickness of the wedges, the potatoes were not cooked through. We all ordered the "award winning soup & salad bar" and were more than let down. The lettuce was sitting in ice water, so it was cold but floppy & wet, there is only one soup option, and the toppings were minimal. Topping it off was the loud 20's style lounge music. We were ready to leave early on. Our server was nice, but his friendliness couldn't make up for an incredibly slow, undercooked appetizer, and a lack luster salad bar, and loud dining room. I would hope the entree's would be better, but can't imagine we'll go back to find out.

Fast & attentive service. After a long day of snowboarding went here to watch the super bowl. Decent menu, tons of screens and prices were average. Good beer selection. There is a restaurant on the other side with a salad bar (you can order from the bar).

Decent...but it's bar food. Wings are bleh, drinks from the bar are bleh. My post is like Granny's...bleh.

I have been here a few times, and not once have I enjoyed it. People rave about the chicken wings, they are undercooked. I don't eat chicken, and if I did, this is the last place I would order it from. The food is not good quality. This is the place guys go to get drunk, watch sports, and get away from their wives.

A wonderful, old school restaurant with delicious food. It is such a pleasure to go to a restaurant that is family owned and the food (especially the pasta dishes) is made from recipes passed down from many generations. There are pictures on the wall of the generations of family that started the restaurant. There are several sections of the restaurant that would please just about any diner. There are comfortable booths which would give you a quieter dining experience and there is a large sports bar room which is a fun place to dine and watch a game. The food was fabulous! We ordered the homemade spaghetti and meatballs (with garlic toast), the homemade lasagna, and the prime rib. The soup and salad bar is phenomenal! It has every kind of salad ingredient you could think of, including pasta salad, fruit salad and potato salad. The Apple Martini was one of the best I have ever had. The main reason we came to the restaurant is because Granny's Closet is a big supporter of the Northern Arizona University football team, where our daughter is a freshman. My husband and I always listen to the telecast from Los Angeles, where Granny's Closet is frequently mentioned as a very appreciated supporter. Well done, Granny's Closet!

I used to go to Granny's when I went to NAU and it was always a decent place. I was visiting some friends in town and we decided to catch the Cardnials game there. The experience was really bad, so bad that I don't really ever care to return. The place seemed kind of dirty and our menus were gross (covered in spilled sauce etc). We got a table for 4 and the table we were seated at could hardly hold us and our food (we are small-average sized folks). Our server named Nate was too busy doing nothing to be of much help. Whenever we saw him he just appeared to be wandering around or watching the football game. He only checked on us once and never refilled any of our drinks. He wasn't actively rude or anything but his attitude was one of not wanting to be working -- he wasn't friendly and wasn't very helpful. The food was pretty lackluster as well. I got fish and chips and it was it was probably the worst fish ans chips I have ever been served. The fish was extremely dry, to the point where I could hardly cut the thing, and it tasted pretty bland. The wings were meh. Not terrible but not a reason to go back. One of my friends said her burger was decent. Overall this was an unenjoyable visit.

My wie and I ate there last night and the service was about as bad as it gets. The Waitress did not tell us abut the specials, but we heard a waiter tell his table so we knew, No big deal we thought. We ordered 2 beers and an appeitizer of stuffed potato skins. The beer came in about 15 mintes with an apology. The appetizer never showed up so we cancelled that and ordered our entree, we should have left at that point but we thought the waitress, Rochell, was trying. She took my order of Fish and Chips and my wife had the steak special and she quickly left, so fast actually that she did not ask my wife how she wanted her steak cooked. The salad bar advertised Clam Chowder but it was gone and replaced by some really bad vegetable beef. The Clam Chowder still remained on the "Specials" menu that was written next to the Cashiers table. I got my fish and chips and my wife got her steak, no sides no water, no steak sauce, and no malt vinegar for the fish, I asked but it did not come until after the third time I asked. My wifes steak was really well done, like unedible well done, another apology and 2 free beers, we couldnt drink all the beer. We sent it back and asked for the check. The waitress came back witht the check and told us the steak was taken off the bill, with another apology, but it wasn't so we pointed that out to her when we gave her our credit card. She came back with the correctd bill and receipt for us to sign, but left without leaving a pen to sign the bill. We borrowed a pen from anther waiter and got out of there. We won't be going back, as we were there 2 hours and did not get a decent meal, it would be great if you were a real beer drinker I suppose, but we are not so this place is off our list. We wnt to the Sizzler for lunch the next day and it was great, they had a big salad bar and meat you could eat!

Food was pretty gross... But can you really pass up an opportunity to eat at Granny's Closet? Unfortunately I am a sucker for names and marketing...

i've been a fan of grannys closet for 22 years. it's a staple in flagstaff. it's been changed around a few times but i went there recently. this is the place to go for football or any sport. the bar is one large room with alot of tables. there are numerous plasmas. they are set up sort of in a half circle. there are also some plasmas up higher and along the actual bar. get here a 1/2 hour early for the game. they have a full menu and serve breakfast during football or lunch. i've liked all the food i've eaten here, but i've mostly had breakfast early, then wings and a burger. the wings are really good. they're known for their wings. their bar prices were fair. i can't remember what they charged for beer, but it can't be that much or it would stick out in my brain. they also have a main restaurant which also has some tvs. the main restaurant reminds me of the old bobby mcgees. it's sort of like that. one side the bar area. and the restaurant is separate. the restaurant side is charming and welcoming. the crowd is fun, excited, and loud. the food is good and it's a large menu. this is my favorite place to go in flagstaff for all around fun & sports.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
