We like Market Place. Only wish they had a greater dessert selection. Love the salad. Has good sweet tea.

So I'm visiting from FL and thought to try this with the group I was with on business here based on previous reviews and I have to say we were a little disappointed. We had the salsa and chips to start and that salsa tasted like it was out of the bottle, the chips were great, they were baked if I'm not mistaken. I'll speak for myself on the dish I had, the ultimate jambalaya, the best part of this dish were the flavors, it was definitely spicy which I loved, but what killed me was the soup of oil sitting at the bottom, i think I've watched enough of Chef Ramsey's tantrums that this is a big no no when preparing a meal. I ended my meal with the NY Style Cheesecake, I'm from NJ and believe you me, that was definitely an Arkansas style cheesecake, it had some sort of warm frosting on top, they served it with a side of chocolate and some raspberry topping, neither was doing that piece of cake any good to save it. The only piece that made me give the 3rd star was the service, the waitress was really nice and attentive the entire time and I liked to see how they helped each other out during service, the only note I'd make about the waitresses would be that it wouldn't kill them to crack a smile once in a while, I think ours was the only one who didn't look miserable. P.s. Real mood killer that no alcohol is served here. Maybe they should think about using that enormous station in the center of the restaurant as a bar. It looks like there used to be a buffet and they said the hell with it, let's makes this a mile long drink station.

I am increasingly reluctant to explore new territory. I tried out the Marketplace based on recommendations solicited at my doctor's office. It was described as country cozy with a 'clinking of glasses' atmosphere. But it was definitely identified as a top three. Though the atmosphere is 'countryish' it is in no way cozy. It was noisy with nothing to absorb or cushion echoing noise. Not a place to meet for business discussions. Again--if you have hearing limitations you do NOT want to hold a business lunch here The service was adorable. High marks for that. I ordered a 'pizza' even though it was not one of the high recommendations made by my server--my mistake. This 'pizza' is in reality a 'flatbread' and they really skimped on the meager toppings. I ordered the slow cooked pork and I'd say the pieces of meat did not exceed 7-8 small chunks. I requested some changes but that doesn't justify such a bare serving--for ten dollars. Do not order this item unless you want the equivalent of something smeared on a large cracker. I will not return to this establishment (although, as I said the service was delightful and attentive). I recommend instead, Neal's or Venesian Inn--or for a business meeting and excellent catfish, ROTC.

Marketplace is a very quaint "casual dining" experience with top notch food that belongs at a 4 star restaurant. Love the fake fruit stands and the spacious feel of this restaurant. Our waiter was on spot putting us at ease, knowledgable about all dishes and treated us like friends. Marketplace has a pretty extensive menu. I liked the combination platters that give you a good sampler of their signature dishes. Each combo platter comes with two meats and two sides. I ordered the combo plate with ribs, cheese grits, grilled vegetables, and boom boom shrimp. The portions are big so one is enough to share. The ribs were fall apart good and the boom boom shrimp had a touch of crunch with lovely sweet and spicy orange sauce. Cheese grits were delicious and veggies were fresh! My husband got a side salad and the salmon. The blueberry dressing was so good I was dipping my bread in it! However, I would stay away from the salmon. It wasn't bad but didn't taste extraordinary which I attribute to Arkansas not having any bodies of water nearby. We finished it off with the chocolate mess! I was hesitant at first because I think most sundaes are overpriced. I was wrong! We ordered the mini and it came out in a chocolate covered glass where you can use your spoon to scrape off the chocolate and dip it in the ice cream. The ice cream was a bit melted but the dessert was still yummy. I also saw too late that they have some 4 course meals for 2 starting at $22. Definitely want to try next time we are in town. If you are in Fayatteville do not miss out on Marketplace!

Well the Dr. Pepper was great! Service too was great. But the food my wife and I got was not great. We got a to go box just to be nice. We got spinach dip as an appetizer. It was dry... No flavor it was not good. I got the chicken fried steak with garlic mashed potatoes and onion strings. I honestly got bored with eating. It wasn't flavored well the breading was hard and it was more like I chicken fried hamburger. Garlic mashed potatoes were extra garlicky. Almost like a liquid. My wife got an all American pasta. There was a hair a quarter way into it. The veggies weren't even cooked and it came out barely warm. Cheese wasn't even melted. I'm sorry I'll not go back here. Maybe for dessert. And the staff was friendly. Just bad food.

We ordered the spinach dip to start. The server was very pleasant and the dip came put quickly. It had a side of sour cream and salsa which was unusual but nice. However the dip itself was quite bland. Not really sure what goes into spinach dip , but something seemed missing. I had the ultimate Cajun Jambalaya which being the ultimate it added shrimp to the order with the chicken. The dish was spicy enough but the chicken definitely tasted like freezer burn, as if it had been previously cooked and then thawed out in a hot bowl of Jambalaya. So overall 2 stars for the excellent service and zero stars for the food.

First time at the Market Place Grill; our waitress Pam was wonderful - she was so helpful in explaining the menu and helping us choose our lunch which was very good - will definitely go back often!!

Good ambience. Well lit with nice big windows. Was in town for my niece's birthday so definitely a great place to come with the family. The butter bread is still delicious but probably too heavy in calories for this semi-old man :). Tried the raspberry chicken for the first time...very good and healthy tasting. Ended with a chocolate mess (a tall milkshake glass coated in chocolate...mmmmm).

The salads and entrees amazing. However, what truly makes this restaurant is the queso - it's on point! The service is great as well. Pam is the best server we've had here. My cup of water was never empty and the bread was never ending.

My family and I have went to the Marketplace for years! In the past several years, the food quality has significantly declined, which makes me sad. But on the bright side, the flaming queso is a must & the salads are delicious!

I have been to the Marketplace in Conway before and had a really good experience, so I had high expectations coming here. It was a Saturday afternoon and we came in with a party of 8. We were seated quickly, although the table they sat us at was kind of cramped for 8 people. Our waiter was attentive at first, taking our drink orders and getting our appetizers. I was able to try the queso and the salsa. Both were decent, but not the best I've ever had. They also brought out loaves of bread. I was kind of turned off by the amount of butter on them, but I ate some anyway and it was good. I ordered the chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. It took a long time for our order to come and our drinks didn't get filled as quickly as I would like. Once the food finally came, I was really pleased with the grilled vegetables and the mashed potatoes. The tenders, however, didn't have much flavor and the breading on them was not crispy at all. It left a lot to be desired. It also took a long time for our checks to come and then for him to run our payments. I will try Marketplace again the next time I'm in the area, but hopefully we have better service and better food next time.

Delicious! Got Baby back ribs -- which fell off the bones. The grilled vegetables are a must. And that bread they give you is soooo good. We also had the cajun ribeye cooked perfectly. And the best sweet tea ever! The jalapeño fritters were okay and sweet tater were better than most. We plan to definitely come back! Service was nice as well.

Recommended by hotel and good reviews on Yelp. And within walking distance of my hotel. So I walked in. Service was prompt and friendly. My waitress recommended the Jambalaya Pasta with Chicken and shrimp. It was quite delicious and unusual as well. I could have omitted the meat but decided what the hey!. It ended up too much for me to eat. I did not order dessert. The salad was ordinary with too much cheese dumped on top. Less than $20. NOT Cracker Barrel or Olive Garden. And that is a good thing.

Tonight I tried the Cajun grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and grits. The chicken came topped with a spicy Cajun butter that was tasty. The meal itself was good and I would recommend this place to friends. We also had a very pleasant and attentive waitress. Also the menu was very large, so no getting tired of the food here. I deducted a star because I had a piece of gristle in my chicken that was inedible and because my grits and mashed potatoes came out topped with shredded cheese but they weren't hot enough to melt the cheese.
