Wonderful items on the buffet and dinner for under $10. Hard to beat that!

This place was pretty decent. Good portions. Ordered the Thai chicken wings for an app, yummy! They were all out of my fav Massaman curry but the lady recommended something similar, was not disappointed there. The sticky rice was very over done... like mush. I would def try this place again.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. The staff and owner are super friendly and sweet. Order off the menu and you will not be disappointed. The buffet is less than desirable.

My wife and I eat here often. It is very consistent and always good. Even the buffet is a good choice.

I love a decent mom and pop Asian joint. This one gets my thumbs up based on my first visit. Great curries and soups and the usual noodle dishes. Nice to have real heat in a real Thai restaurant around here!

This place is the best Thai Food I've had outside Thailand, hands down! Everything tastes fresh and the spiciness is made to order. Absolutely great Pad Thai. The restaurant is nothing to write home about but the service is adequate when they're busy and charming when they're not quite so rushed. Seems to be a family place and everyone seems genuinely happy to see you. I cannot praise the food enough. I've had multiple dishes and each one is delicious. Highly recommend. A must eat in the area.

Really hit the spot. I had the Panang curry chicken, Tim had the green curry chicken. We also has the fresh rolls and the fried roll. The appetizers were pretty good, they hit the spot. I have had better fresh rolls though. The curries were delicious and I love that they took a temp on the heat between 1-10, we ordered 6 or 7 and it was perfect. Lips burned in a pleasurable way. Curries were huge and very filling for an excellent price. Not a fancy restaurant or presentation. But really flavorful and reasonable.

The buffet wasn't all that large, but the quality of the food on it was great! The curry chicken was superb. Great service, clean, and nice atmosphere.

I was skeptical but after hearing from real Thai food lovers rave about this place I decided to give it a try. It was an absolute delight. Rule #1: Don't eat off the buffet. That isn't where you find the quality dishes. Order from the menu. Rule #2: They offer spiciness on levels 1-10, if you like spicy food order a 7. If you are gluten for punishment you can request some dishes up to 15. The staff was friendly and very courteous and refills came quickly. Our waitress even took the time to explain some of the dishes and spices so if don't be afraid to ask. The Egg Thai Pad was wonderful. Great flavors, texture, and enough food for 2 people. Try the Meing Kham (its under the specialties section), its a mix of flavors that burst in your mouth and the roasted cocunut alone is worth it. Eat a few as apps and then save some for dessert. Rule #2: They offer spiciness on levels 1-10, if you like spicy food order a 7. If you are gluten for punishment you can request some dishes up to 15. Looking forward to returning and trying the rest of the menu. Highly recommend a visit.

Wow!!! Finally found good Thai food, this little place is not great looking, but the food is awesome, and the staff is very good. Try their appetizers, oh yes, you can actually have these for dessert; toasted coconut on a single basil leaf, wow. Go and enjoy!

I was so excited when friends invited us to try Chang Thai. I absolutely love Thai food and have sorely missed having a Thai restaurant close by since moving to Little Rock. We loaded up for dinner last night and mad the trek to Sherwood; it was absolutely worth the effort. We ordered Gyoza to begin and had them do it half steamed and half pan fried. Overall, we preferred the steamed. The flavor was not as impressive on the fried half. We also ordered the Miang Kham, which was a surprising delight. The leaves are full of fresh ginger, onion, toasted coconut, and goodness only knows what else. Needless to say, these little rolled packages (remember, you're supposed to eat it in one bite!) are really delicious and totally unexpected. Give them a try! My red curry was flavorful and fantastic. I really don't know what else I can say. It was really, really good. The hubby's whole fried Tilapia was also worth ordering. The skin on the fish was very crispy and the sauces were insanely good. Crave-worthy good. But the fish itself was just a little overcooked; easy to do with a fish like Tilapia. However, slather it in sauce and it is no longer noticeable, though I suppose if you're going to do something good why not do it great... Other dinner companions had Drunken noodles, Pad Thai, Yellow Curry, and crispy Spring Rolls. Everyone gave their respective dish an enthusiastic thumbs-up and my sample from each dish was excellent. I'd order any one of those things from the menu. I would also like to note that for 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and one beverage (I had an iced tea) it was $32. This is very, very reasonable. This restaurant truly has the potential to be great but right now it's just very good. Some improvement on presentation and mastery of consistent cooking methods (i.e. not over-frying the fish or failing to get the pan fried dumplings crisp) could elevate this place to the highest level. The owners were very kind and I would encourage locals to make the drive to Sherwood, even if it's a little out of the way. They deserve the business and I truly hope they thrive. We will be going back any chance we get.

The buffet is average (but still tasty). If you want a treat, as other reviewers have indicated, you should order from the menu. Regardless, it's a great little place if you're craving Thai.

Everything I've tried there has been fabulous Thai food. Definitely the best Thai in central Arkansas. Don't get the buffet, it's not that authentic. The staff is amazing, so nice and helpful.

So, the buffet is gone completely. The Meing Kham lacked the heat it used to have. My dish was pretty good, my husbands was pretty bland. All in all still a good place to eat. Service was great btw

For years I've lamented the lack of a good Thai restaurant in Little Rock. If I wanted a Thai fix, I'd have to go to Jacksonville...not anymore! Not only is Chang Thai closer to LR, it's better than the place I used to go in Jacksonville! Three members of our party had the buffet, and two of us ordered off the menu (but we ordered a lot so we could share with the others and have leftovers to take home). My not-so-fond-of-Thai-food husband said the buffet was actually pretty good. I took a look at it, and it actually did feature Thai food (as opposed to some places that serve Thai off the menu, but Chinese on the buffet). Off the menu, we ordered the Pla Sam Rod, which is a whole fried talapia, covered in a sweet and spicy sauce. It was crispy, with a flaky, moist interior, and the sauce was just the right combination of spicy and sweet. We also ordered the Egg Wrap Pad Thai with prawns, and it was your standard (but tasty!) Pad Thai presented in an omelet shaped into a bowl - beautiful presentation! Next was the Green Curry Chicken, and it was some of the best I've ever had. Succulent pieces of white meat chicken with vegetables in coconut milk. Finally, there was the Tom-Kha, which is a coconut milk soup with lime. We got it with tofu. I only got a spoon full of it, but what I had was great! For every dish, they ask you how spicy you want it on a scale of 1-10. Our group happened to really like spicy food, so we ordered almost everything 5 or above. The waitress asked if we were really sure, and we told her to bring on the spice! But if spice bothers you, go for a lower number. Service was good, but they did run out of tea while we were there. How do you manage that? The only thing that would make me happier is if they opened a Little Rock location!

Good Thai food, best that we have found in Little Rock. Snag the red curry - very flavorful and love their spice levels, they seem to get it right every time. Decent prices. We appreciated the military discount, but they took that away. Can't speak for the buffet, we always place an order.

Not sure what the worst part of tonight's dining experience was: 1) the staff coming in & out of the kitchen holding infants... 2) the 40 minute wait for our food... 3) the fact that they were out of things a Thai restaurant should NEVER be out of (i.e. pad Thai)... 4) the cluster of roaches right over my head that I noticed after we had finished. I'm going with the roaches. We're moving out of state in 4 days, but even if we were staying in Arkansas, this would of been our last dining experience here.

    I. Love.Thai food. This place is amazing! I haven't had good Thai food since...since I can't remember it's been too long. Tonight I had the fried tofu, and another appetizer that had some sort of coconut/peanut mixture on a basil leaf, as well as a stir fry that had onions bell peppers, holy basil, and a choice of meat (I'm bad with names I can't remember what these are called). I opted to pay a little extra and added tofu to my prawn choice. Yes I ate everything, don't judge me, it was my meal for the day. Oh my gosh! Everything was absolutely delicious! The fried tofu came out perfectly crisp and light, the basil leaf appetizer had awesome crunchy and chewy textures and a savory sweet flavor. The appetizers were exactly that. Appetizers! Not too heavy...perfect. When my meal came out, I was ready. The prawns were cooked to perfection, not rubbery. I ordered my meal at a level 10 and asked for her to bring extra chile which my server quickly returned with--not saying the food wasn't spicy. It def was, I mean who comes to a Thai restaurant and expects bland vanilla? It's just that I like my food at the nuclear level:) The server was super sweet and quick, nice recommendations. Oh and afterward the owner and person who made my meal (same person) came out to see how everything was. Very nice touch indeed. She also let me know they have a buffet on Thursday...I'm one day too early:/ All in all if I weren't just passing through I'd prob come here a few times a week. I went out the Arnold Street gate on Little Rock AFB and just went straight down Sylvan?Hills highway...it's by a Subway. Soo goooood--go get some! Nom nom nom!

We have been there twice now and the food is DELICIOUS!!, if you're not into spicy food and want to savor the flavor tell the waitress you want "0" spicy level. We've tried level 2 & 3 on several dishes and they were to hot for me and my wifey.

I love Chang and would eat there every day if the location were convenient. It is inexpensive and the flavors in the dishes are authentic and heavenly. Unlike many Asian restaurants, they don't Americanize their food with sugar and gelatinous gooey filler and red coloring. Everything's really delicious. And thank goodness there is no TV anywhere in sight! When they say HOT, though, they mean it!

After looking for a decent Thai place for some time, finally stumbled upon Chang. When we first walked in, I felt like I had set myself up for disappointment. The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired, as it feels like I was sitting in an office park with bright, overhead fluorescent lights. We had been warned not to order off the buffet, so we asked for menus. I didn't see what is generally my favorite Thai dish, so I asked if they had glass noodles. They did, and were happy to make it for me despite its absence from the menu. My date got pad thai, which was also delicious. The food was outstanding, but the atmosphere and speed of service left something to be desired.

My boyfriend and I have eaten at Thai restaurants all over the USA and we both agree that this is the best Thai food we have eaten anywhere. Service is friendly. The food is served fresh and hot. Wonderful flavors. The restaurant looks like a dive from outside but inside it is clean and the food more than makes up for the thrift store ambience. We want to explore the menu but we can neither one get past the pad thai and tom yum soup. Our dishes are always served quickly and we never need for anything. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like Thai and Asian cuisine.

First time to come here and people are inside eating 30 minutes before closing and they will not serve my girlfriend and I. If they are too lazy to serves us 30 minutes before closure then I will not be coming back again. Poor business practice and complete disregard for their customers.

I often crave Thai food while traveling so I am grateful to several Yelpers who posted the pictures of the egg-wrapped Pad Thai. When I was a little kid, my parents used to take me to a food stall nearby their college and would ordered me a plate of the egg-wrapped Pad Thai. It was the only thing that I would completely cleaned the plate. I thought about ordering the egg-wrapped Pad Thai, but I decided against it as I looked through the menu and saw that they use Holy Basil in their basil dishes if available. Where I live, Holy Basil is not something that I would find often in the grocery store and I love the flavor so I opt for the Seafood with Basil instead. In addition to the Basil dish, my family shared an order of the chicken wings, fresh spring rolls and Pad Woon Sen. I thought the food was really good and not too sweet. The spice in the seafood with basil was just the right amount and I like that they gave plenty of squid. Service was really good. Our server was very friendly.

My favorite restaurant in the Little Rock metro area. Family owned and operated, prices are decent, and the food is consistently excellent. Meing Kham is a must-order dish. I can't imagine anyone not loving it. My wife likes the old fashioned pad Thai, and I alter between that and the drunken noodles. Honestly, I've had better crab Rangoon, but their Gyoza, spring rolls, and fresh spring rolls are all really good. The staff is also really friendly. You shouldn't miss it!

  • Phillip B.

Legit. Pad Thai. Better than the spot in J-Ville. They were out of crab rangoons, so they hooked me up with some sesame seed balls & pot stickers. Thai tea...on point. Check it out, they are bout it bout it!

We tried several things and enjoyed them family style. My favorites were the curries-panang and green. The basil stir fry was also excellent. Try the dumplings for an appetizer...sauce was awesome. We finished with the mango sticky rice-delicious!

Good food, fast service, friendly staff, and clean location. The ambience is a bit boring and echoes. It would help if they had a tv or some soft music to help it out. They do takeout if that helps. The prices were average, expect to spend at least 10$. Spiciness was pretty good. On a scale from 1-10 I had a 5 and it was as high as I would want to go.

Thanks to yelp reviewers, I found this hidden gem! At least hidden from my view - I am rarely ever in Sherwood (maybe once a year?) Yet, my husband and I love Thai food, and rarely find what we consider good Thai food in Central Arkansas. The place itself is very basic - essentially one open room for dining. It's not fancy, and that is fine - the food speaks for itself. We started with an appetizer of sesame balls. If you aren't familiar with these, they are sweeter and made of black bean paste, and then rolled in sesame seeds. For entrees, I tried the chicken pad thai, while my husband tried the drunken noodles. Both were delicious, and plenty spicy. No extra spice needed, here.

My family loves this place!! All of their food tastes authentic. Portions are great as well. I do think that their spicy scale is a little skewed... Everything between a 5-10 tastes the same, so if you don't tolerate spicy foods well stay at a 1-2. I typically like my food around a 7-8... A 4-5 does it here for me. If you like Chinese food but haven't ventured out to Thai and other SE Asia foods, try this place! You won't be disappointed with the food.

Amazing Thai food! The red chicken curry soup is very tasty. And the mango sticky rice is divine! If you love Thai food, this is your place. One of Little Rock's best kept secrets!

This place looks kinda dirty, but we decided to give it a chance. The food was bland and not good. It wasn't the worst food I've ever had, but I won't go back. It was a very poor excuse for Thai food. Also I found it odd that there was a baby just hanging out there. I guess it was some ones who worked there... Maybe their daycare is better than their food :|

We just moved here from D.C. and doubted finding a GOOD Thai restaurant...had the Pad Thai with shrimp & the Yellow Curry with pork (both w/just a touch of heat). ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Meal was fresh and tasty, the staff were knowledgeable and friendly - we will be regulars!

I love these types of mom and pop Thai restaurants. The owners are super friendly and they make you feel right at home. Steamed gyoza appetizer is delicious. Drunken noodles are good too. I got a 6 on the 1-10 spicy scale and it was spicy enough that was enjoyable but not too spicy that I couldn't taste my food. I will definitely be returning.

While I'm a huge food fan, I'm not all that experienced with Thai food. Consequently, I can't tell you if Chang offers particularly authentic dishes, but I can tell you that everything I've had here is absolutely delicious. It's a solid 20 minute drive from where I live, so I don't get to dine here often. When I do, though, it's always an adventure in amazing flavors. Everything from the little shrimp crackers they start you off with to the gyoza (chicken and pork dumplings) to the curries to the soups is excellent. Chang also happens to be one of the few places that will actually make your food legitimately spicy. If you go with a bunch of Asian people, your food will be noticeably spicier. Despite the effusive praise above, I do recommend against the buffet which basically appears to be stocked with the typical cheap "Chinese" food you can find anywhere else. Order off the menu, and prepare to have a great meal.

  • Rick G.

Maybe ordering from the menu would be better. I had the buffet. It was very small, very few choices, and nothing much that was really appealing. The steamed dumplings were the best thing on it. At $9 for the dinner buffet, I didn't feel that I'd gotten my money's worth.

  • Laine M.

I've been to Chang's several times, both eat in and take out. I am in love with their green curry with tofu. Sooooo good! I've also tried several other items from the menu. The basil rolls are good (you can get them with tofu instead of shrimp if you don't eat meat), the pad thai is good (a little on the sweet side, but you can order it as spicy as you like to amp it up), and I've even dabbled in their buffet. I must say I prefer the menu over the buffet, but it's good if you aren't sure what you want-they have a good variety of items to try.

This place was awesome. I was missing Thai food like crazy until now. Great tofu too.

  • Duke B.

Talk to the owner. She is super friendly, and will prepare things that are not on the menu. Mieng Come is a must try; I heard from a Thai person that it is "old people food." Unfortunately, like most central Arkansas restaurants, there is the ubiquitous buffet... Gotta feed the fatties... But if you order Thai off the menu, it is superb.

Mediocre at best. Food was OK. Buffet was not maintained.
