Loved sitting on the patio, went in at 9;30 pm, I ordered a house margarita, got to add extra shot for 99¢, I got tequila but friend had pomegranate which was delicious. I had happy hour nachos, good size for the price. Definitely good value as my bill was under $10.00. Service was good, server suggestions were right on the mark. Manager came out a couple of times and checked on us, she said she didn't want us to get thirsty. Overall a better average experience.

While our server was good( only reason not giving 1 star) the food here was bad. Very greasy from start to finish. Thought I'd be safe with street style chicken tacos but was mistaken. Needless to say I'm home sick from my meal yesterday. I don't deal well with overly greasy food... Won't be going back again.

Came here last week for lunch with my family and a family friend. I had been to this restaurant before, but in California a long time ago. It is a pretty decent Mexican chain restaurant. WAIT: We came for lunch and had no wait. It was on Black Friday around 12pm - maybe everyone was still shopping or sleeping from getting up so ridiculously early haha. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The hostess and our waitress were both friendly and helpful. DECOR: Typical chain Mexican restaurant look. FOOD: Well, first, the chips and salsa are addicting as usual. This is what our table ordered: *Grilled Avocado Enchiladas - I got this and it was very yummy *Fish Tacos *Kids Grilled Chicken and Veggies *Hatch Chile Burger Besides what I got - which I loved, everyone else liked their food as well. I would come back here. I haven't been too impressed with Mexican food around here, so far, except for a few places. This is one of the places I would go back to.

Oh dear, i don't think i have ever sat down with a group of 3 other guys and all of us feeling pissed off about our meal. Really nothing stands out about this place. Yes the service was good but it was so quiet there on a Sunday evening that we would expect nothing less. The menu reads great, and is lick your lips worthy BUT the food tasted nothing like mexican food i have tasted before. The re-fried beans was so tasteless that one bite was enough for all of us. I had the grilled avocado enchiladas and again jsut out of pure hunger i go through half it before i decided this would be a lost cause. I never can blame waitresses for the pure quality of food so when she came to collect the plates and asked us all akwardly "have you finished and how was the food" we remained polite and asked for the bill.

Been twice. Food was not good either time. The first time the waitress was horrible. Didn't know the menu (what fish is on the fish taco) she didn't know. I asked if it was good she said she didn't like fish. My choice of sides I asked what she would suggest and she said she didn't like either. Haha. Wow!

Went for lunch the other day. The app came on a dirty plate with a dirty spoon. Waitress apologized and removed them. Did not replaced them. While having the app noticed ants on the table. Waitress offered to move us but it was just three ants. Had the manager come over to discuss. She thanked us and sent over coupons which was good. The chips and apps we ordered were good. The meals themselves were not. The chile relleno and the chicken tacos were not good. The people were nice but employees need a lot of training. Good luck but we won't be back.

Could not ask for better service. Menu is affordable and portion sizes are adequate. Great atmosphere in the bar.

Nice happy hour prices! We went on a Friday and sat at the bar. Hostess and bartender were nice. Both food and drinks were out promptly. We ordered the house margaritas. I ordered one and my finances ordered two. Chips were MASSIVE, like tortilla size. Salsa was excellent! I had to try their tortilla soup (I have an obsession for some reason). Soup was better than Mojitos, but nothing to brag about. My fiance had the fish tacos. You receive 3 tacos and he mentioned they were pretty tasty. On The Boarder is a Mexican Chili's. Total bill for 3 drinks and two entrees was $30. Not too shabby!

My wife and I are "On The Boarder Mexican Grill" aficionados. We love their salsa, IMO it's the best in the industry. I travel a lot, and when I travel, I sometimes direct my route so I can eat at an "On the Boarder". I've eaten at the Rogers OTB several times and found it to be fair to poor. I had almost written it off. But my wife wanted to eat there this week. I was pleasantly surprised the food was pretty good and the waiter was fantastic. I hope it's a trend!

Double check your take out orders. Several times in a row they've forgotten to include items on the order. The food is delicious.

I'm not going to say the food is bad. I will say the service is terrible. I think they have a large employee turn over. Drinks are slow to be refilled, appetizers are slow to come out. Salsa, I will refer to as " Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde". The salsa will be one day very mild, the next it will leave you panting. The manager seems to have on and off days too. One time she will come by ask how things are going. The next time, when she probably knows the service is terrible, she tries not to make eye contact and keeps her head down. So, if you're in a hurry, probably not the spot for you.

I did not have the experience the other reviewer had. Maybe they've had an overhaul in staff. We went for dinner on a Saturday night and the place was not overly busy. The food was moderately priced, but very good. The waiter (Mike) was very helpful. My wife had fajitas and I had the carne asada and my 1 year old had whatever he could get his hands on. The staff were very helpful...the manager even offered to wash the spoons we were using for my son's food, which has never happened before. After the meal, the waiter offered, unsolicited, to get take-home cups, which were full of soda. Most places give us empty cups. We had a very good time here and will definitely be back.

My wife and I come to On the Border every Thursday and its normally ok. This time they were so slow. Took 20 minutes to get drinks and then another 15 minutes to get queso. This place has completely went to the dumps. Do not plan on ever coming back.

Went in on a whim a little over a week ago while out driving around(the 2yr old was starving) Once again my wifes nostalgia got the best of me. Talk about your overpriced terrible food. And service to go right along with it. Typical chain food joint. Will never return. (Even the wife admitted defeat) ;) PS. The place being dead right at lunch time should have told me something prior

The food was good. We got our food quickly but it took a while to get our drinks refilled. Still worth going even though the cost for a soft drink was $2.29 each with free refills.

Short and sweet. I really like this place. I know I know it's a chain....but they have empanadas and they are so good! I can't find empanadas anywhere else in town. The service sometimes sucks but that's anywhere you go.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
