I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoy Chef John's food. I used to live in Marion and frequent this location for their famous "Wingate" pimiento cheese sandwich, which you have to experience! The food is made from scratch and the baked goods fresh. I moved clear across Memphis and drive over an hour now to enjoy the food now as I enjoy it so much. Friendly, casual atmosphere, great food that's fresh and healthy. If you are Marion, be sure to try the Parsonage out!

We stopped here on a long road trip, and I'm glad we did. We got some bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwiches, and everything was low on grease and very high quality. My only complaint would be that the eggs were unseasoned, not so much as salt and pepper, but the sandwiches were pretty good regardless. The brownies were great. The service was excellent.

I had the Ruben The rye bread with lots of caraway seeds is made in-house. The rye bread alone is worth the visit. Combine that with relatively thick slices of flavor-rich corned beef and lots of goey swiss cheese and you got one of my favorite Rubens ever. Note: I don't like a Thousand Island dressing because I see it as just an excuse to add mayonaise. So I ordered it without the Thousand Island. Since they combine their homemade Thousand Island with their cabbage, that meant that I was ordering it without sourkraut too. Which was just fine by me. I almost gave them only 4 stars because they did serve the Thousand Island cabbage mixture on the side, trying to encourage me to try it. (when I say no mayo, I don't want to look at it) But the sandwich was so good, I've got to give it 5 stars.

I love this place so much, I had to write another review. This is a wonderful place for Lunch or Brunch on the weekend. Chef John goes out of his way to make his daily specials creative and tasty, I had lunch here yesterday and had the Daily Special - Chicken and Waffles. These were no ordinary chicken and waffles though, think homemade belgian waffle, top that with spicy crispy chicken tenders, then smokey honey ham, add swiss cheese (all melty and gooey) finish with fresh greens and spicy chipotle aioli. So may flavors and textures, salty , sweet, crispy all in one delicious bite. The daily soup specials are always creative, like the Kimchi soup tangy, spicy and will warm you up on a cold day. I totally disagree with the reviewer who dissed the Bakery, obviously not in to sweets. The brownies are to die for and the lemon coconut macadamia cookies make me swoon. Just saying.

Apparently they close on holiday weekends. Very disappointing considering I came all the way from Illinois to eat here.

When reading the reviews on here, everyone so raved about the Spicy Wyngate that it had my curiosity up. My husband and I never even eat pimento cheese, but, wow, it was a great sandwich! That alone would rate 5 stars, but the pasta salad left something to be desired, therefore the 4 stars. Throw all your childhood remembrances of pimento cheese out the window and get this sandwich! This is definitely an adult version!

Great food addition to small town. The food is fresh, the portions are generous, and the chef adds depth and flavor to a classic soup and sandwich lunch place. The Wyngate (spicy version) is amazing- you notice the spicy kick of the pimento cheese but the candied bacon cuts into the melty goodness with a little bit of sweetness. In addition to being a solid place for lunch, Chef John offers options to take home casseroles and a cookie/ pastry happy hour. Hope that more people support this great local business!

I absolutely adore the decadent Wyngate (spicy version) - melty pimento cheese with candied bacon & your choice of side / served on toasted cheese bread to make it extra bad/good. Honestly though my family (who are locals / I am a Ark refugee to ATL) adores the Parsonage (it's the only place in town that isn't fast food or fried:overcooked so there are almost no options), the Wyngate is the only thing I have liked there. Not much for sweets & don't be expecting muffins or baguettes to buy / this bakery is lunch-oriented with cookies & brownies and such. Located on Marion's "main strip", Military Road, it is easy to locate and get to off I55N Small parking lot but streets are pretty wide in Marion and street parking is close. My experience with their soups says "don't bother"

We are traveling from Little Rock to Blacksburg listening to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History and decided to skip the fast food. Found the Parsonage on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I had the ham and garbanzo bean soup and half a ham and cheese sandwich. Both were fresh, homemade style and delicious. The restaurant has a home-like quaintness. Glad we stopped. Now back to Carlin's Prophet's of Dome - truth is stranger than fiction - but not before one of the Parsonage's fresh baked peanut butter cookies.

Very fresh and tasty. The Reuben, pasta salad and ranch salad were awesome. Meat tender enough that my 17mo baby shoveled it in like it was pudding. Same with the cookies, the chocolate chip was super thick and healthy tasting. But my favorite is the coconut lemon cookie, the baby stole that one right away :(

I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 only because I haven't experienced a meal here. Craving something sweet on my way to class I decided to finally stop in at the Parsonage. First off it's in this quant little store and the smell catches you from outside. You walk into this warm, casual atmosphere with an open kitchen a large family style table and a few smaller tables. The whole place is just cozy, I felt like I was walking into a friends dining room. Have I mentioned yet how phenomenal this place smelt? There was a hutch full of displayed goodies and a nice disply on the register table. I persuaded the many muffin and cookie choices before finally deciding on a Orange, Cranberry and White Chocolate Chip muffin. Of course it happened to be happy hour so I grabbed a Lemon Poppyseed as well. I don't even know where to begin to describe OCWCC muffin. First off there was this delicious glaze then you bite into it you get this soft, sweet and slightly tart orange flavor. It only gets better as the whole cranberries and white chocolate chips get thrown into the mix. I haven't tried my Lemon Poppy Seed yet, but I am so very excited! I can't wait to come back in here and see what the lunch menu has to offer. The muffin alone is worth a trip across the bridge!

Simple menu, good food. My husband had the club, I had the wynngate. Brownies and cookies are excellent! Would've been 5 stars if they had sweet tea.

I come to this area regularly for work and have always been disappointed with the food in this area. THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST FOOD WITHIN 30 miles. It's delicious. The chef uses super fresh ingredients/meats and bakes all the bread in-house. He also makes four egg omelets with as many ingredients as you want. The mocha brownies are big, moist, and packed with chocolate chunks. My business partners and I went several times and the chef is super friendly. I live in NYC and can say it stands up to the great restaurants here. If you want something very tasty that isn't a chain/fast food, this is the place.
