My complaints will be short and few as we had an overall great experience here. The bads were this... our table was in a high traffic area, where i think a table had no business being at all. But we dealt with it and hid on one side of the table as best we could to avoid being bumped into by the staff and drunk customers. The other bad was a large party of folks who were obnoxious and loud, and the echo didn't help their eagerness to annoy the piss out of everyone in the restaurant but themselves. They were completely asinine. Now...here's the best part. The food was incredible! Better than Ruth's Chris!!! And much better on the price too! This is our new favorite place to be. It IS our go to date night spot now. I got the Bad Boy, medium, with grilled asparagus, a loaded potato, and the sherry button mushrooms. All were phenomenal. It was soooo good. I highly recommend this place. The staff was quirky and fun. Some even looked like they were having a great time working in this environment. I know I'd have loved it when I was a waitress back in the day. I was in so much pain when we left. The food was so good I just couldn't stop eating. Go! Enjoy! And don't mind the idiots. It's worth it! What are you waiting for??? GO! GO NOW!!

Nice bar and grille! Been a few times now and never have had a bad experience. Burgers are great and LOVE the fried pickles! Was excited when I found out that I could sub my side to upgrade to a side of those pickles! (Its not mentioned on the menu but our awesome waitress let me know when I told her my struggle with wanting pickles but didn't want a big basket). Menu has lots of options to please any pallet. My mom requires gluten free options and she had no problem finding a really delish grilled chicken breast covered in bruschetta. She didn't stop raving about it all meal! Cool atmosphere here! Live bands on weekends...great drinks! Cannot go wrong with this choice!

Was back here for lunch yesterday, and while it's pretty impossible to get in/out in an hour when you have a 10 minute drive to/from the place, leaving only 40 minutes to get food and eat, it was pretty decent. They no longer have the Ahi Tuna Nachos, but they now have a Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer that is good. The Black and Bleu salad was good, although I would have like the steak to have been cut into smaller pieces.

The burgers are wonderful. Love them. The service is so slow. I've been there several times and not once have I had prompt service from the server.

Food is good but the acoustics are not. Just a little loud for me. The burgers are very good as well as the steak. If you are not a fan of loud background noise, than this isn't the place for you. I still eat here but have to go in early.

Excellent food! I've never been disappointed by anything I've ordered. The crawfish dip is a must order. Funnily enough one of my favorite things here is their hamburger buns! It is some of the freshest bread I've ever had.

Easily one of the best steaks you will find in Jonesboro. If you love steak and believe that you should not have to use steak sauce to have flavor, then this is your place. Great place to eat and unwind from a long day. Everything you order will be just the way you expect it to be.

They had excellent service and excellent food! Portion sizes were larger than I expected. The waitress was able to keep all receipts in order which I found amazing since there were nine of us. I ordered a chicken Cesar wrap and it was great! The burgers were huge. We went back later and ordered dessert and the smore egg rolls were delicious.

I have never had a bad experience here, that's why I chose it as my birthday dinner go-to this year. There were 11 of us, on a Friday night, along with a couple other bigger tables, and service was so smooth and speedy. The food and entertainment were great, along with the drinks! All of us had randomly different meals and drinks, and the plates were cleaned! :) Great dining experience for us!

Great little find in downtown Jonesboro! The turkey melt is delicious, loaded with turkey & melted pepper jack cheese on a pretzel bun. The homemade chips are very good, too. My lunch partner had the fried green tomato sandwich with fries, which looked awesome. Very relaxed, rustic vibe, with friendly, efficient service, too!

I had the ribeye with frys and Mac n cheese. Very good! I also went during happy hour and had a pitcher of beer for $5 - they had live music. I wasn't into it but cool atmosphere. Very easy to find too at the end of the main strip.

Love the crawfish dip. Awesome. Cool atmosphere. Great people the times I've been in. Will be back.

Stopped by this little gem with a buddy to grab some lunch. I ordered the club sandwich with fries. He ordered a shrimp poboy which was the featured item of the day. Man oh man was this food delicious. Great prices with terrific service this is my new favorite place in Jonesboro. I'll be back this weekend for live music and a juicy steak!

Love the service, I don't remember her name but I've had the same waitress twice and she's absolutely hilarious. The ambiance is good, except for the live bands. Most of them are terrible, and the sound system makes an already loud place, practically impossible to have conversations. The Ribeye is where it's at when I visit. Also, always get the broiled oysters, delicious!!

Service was great! Very friendly, very accommodating . But we knew we were in trouble with the food when it was revealed that the onion rings are frozen, not fresh. My father complained his fish was dry, my tuna was slightly underdone and my husband's steak while it had great flavor, was tough! A very big letdown.

OK- Skinny J's deserves another star. Food=Great Service=Great Finally tried real food here. The burgers and other custom sandwiches are fantastic. I have not yet tried a signature steak, apparently what they are famous for, I'll work my way up to it. The staff here are tops. Friendly, attentive, welcoming. They set the standard on main street. Well done Skinny J's.

I had the lunch special. The food was good (fish and chips), but the bartender did not know how to make the drinks that we wanted. Seemed to be clean. Decent food, ok service.

Skinny J's is awesome. Whether you're cruising downtown looking for a happening place on the weekend, or stopping by to grab a quick lunch, Skinny J's won't disappoint you. Their burgers are my personal favorite, but I've heard the steaks are unbelievable. I plan on trying out a steak on my next visit.

Went by here fairly early on a Friday evening (10/3) and beat the crowd and was able to enjoy happy hour, which is $1 off single beers on tap, which meant maybe $3 shock top or goose island pale ale, so not a bad deal. We decided against appetizers, although there were many to choose from, seemed like they have tried to deep fry everything in the kitchen and call it an app, which isn't an uncommon practice in the south. I wish I tried the pimento cheese as I grew up eating my Grandmother's, and make it myself, but I'm sure there's is quite good. I ordered the shrimp po'boy on the famous french bread from NOLA. The bread was quite good, which I don't think you'd want that to be the first comment about a shrimp po'boy. The shrimp was small, and extremely sparse. It was fried just fine, but the shrimp to bread ratio was pitiful, if the po'boy was $5 I'd be allright, but at double that price it was laughable. The chips that came with it were good though, pretty thick and house made. My friend got the Skinny J burger, which was a much wiser decision. A large patty that looked great, on a nice looking bun, and he confirmed it was as good as it looked. The fries he got with it were also pretty good. All in all, I'd recommend the place in the nice little downtown Jonesboro, but just skip out on the shrimp po'boy and go with the burger.

Great food, great atmosphere and most importantly great food. One of us had a burger, another a salad and I had the fried green tomato sandwich which is one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth! Loved it!!

Cheese steak was excellent - could stand to have more wine by the bottle.

We were there on a busy Friday night - our party of 10. As we walked in, I noticed it was crowded and it looked like everyone was having a great time. We had to wait a bit, so we sat at the bar and had some wine. When we sat down we ordered appetizers; fried pickles and the crawfish dip. Both were excellent. The pickles were thinly sliced and the batter was light. The crawfish dip was delicious. Spicy, cheesy and served with crispy pita chips. I had the grilled chicken, which was topped with a bruschetta topping - very fresh tomatoes and basil - with steamed broccoli. The chicken was perfectly grilled and the fresh topping complemented it perfectly. Jim had the ahi tuna and thought it was excellent; I'm not a tuna fan, so I didn't try it. Our daughter had the chicken penne pesto pasta, which was also very, very good. Fun hangout on a Friday night in a small town; good wine, good service and a cool interior.

This is one of those Yelp misleads - at least with regard to the quality of our lunch, which was below average. Service was solid, and probably a cool place to hang out with some friends - just as long as you are too inebriated to care about the food. I had the Shrimp Po Boy. A huge, stale bun with 6 pieces of frozen fried shrimp. Fries were average. Sweet tea was average. Hope to find some better lunch options for this trip.

Great service, cold beer and a good piece of salmon. The side dishes were not cooked on one and overlooked on the other. Not a bad place overall, will likely go again if in the area.

First things first, this place is a "Club" and requires that all who enter must sign in but that is just a formality due to the liquor laws of Ark. The inside is decorated in an upscale bar theme, kind rustic and really conducive to a relaxing and helping me find my mellow. Service was very attentive and helpful in menu selection. So much so..I gave him my car keys and told him to drive me to the best lunch they offer. No cash restrictions...just feed me the best thing they had to offer. I was served the Philly Cheese Steak that rivaled those that I've had in Philly. Nice touch too with the added side of homemade Mac-n-Cheese with a hint of bacon. Even though its located downtown on Main Street, parking is no issue with a parking lot just steps away. If your passing by Jonesboro on the highway this place is worth your extra 5min to get to and if your meal and lunch experience is 1/2 as good as mine, you'll have a great rest of the day. Skinny J's...I tip my hat to you.

This place was pretty awesome. Needed food, needed beer, they had both in abudance and were more than happy to dispense. Great, friendly service and a pretty solid menu. Very lively atmosphere I was there during a trivia night I think and people were really into it and having fun! Only deduction was the lack of really anything "healthy" lol. I felt that having skinny in the title was misleading.

My company had our Christmas party at Skinny Js. I was really impressed with the whole experience. Some places arent good with groups or their service deminishes with the more people they are serving- not that way at Skinny Js. They had several people attend to our party and no drink went empty. I was the first one there (as I am to everything) and a waiter started offering me the alcoholic specials and daquiris. Kinda funny since I am only 20. When I walked in the guy asked me how old I was too :) The food was really good. I chatted with several of the waiters/waitresses while I waited for my coworkers' arrival. They even convinced me to take a picture with Santa. lol! I would go here for a good meal- especially salmon which was my choice of dish. I grew up in Alaska, therefore growing up on salmon. Needless to say the cooks know what they are doing. I had nothing bad to say about this place and will definately be back.

I never tried Skinny J's until they moved to downtown, but now that I have, I'm pretty sure I would've driven out to Cash for food like this. I've had the Greek salad (one of the best salads in town), the Mac's burger (very good, cooked perfectly), the sliders (AWESOME & the bun was perfectly squishy & delicious), & the fried pickled. Their fried pickles made me love fried pickles. They're delicate, in an almost tempura-style batter. They're greasy as you'd expect a fried pickle to be, but not heavy at all. We shared some for the whole table (the order was BIG!) but I could've eaten them all myself. They were that good. Well worth a visit. Kinda loud, but they had a guy playing live music & I'll never complain about live music in this town; it's rare. He was good, too; won me over when he played a Dave Matthews song. :)

Really can't recommend this place based on horrible service. Seated at 5pm on a Saturday night. Place less than half full. 30 minutes after ordering we were informed that there had been a mix-up with the ticket but, "Don't worry we moved your ticket to the head of the line." 20 minutes later we got our food. Burger and side ok. The other plate had both sides wrong and grilled chicken and sides were all ice cold. Who let that plate out of the kitchen? Won't be back.

Best burger in town! Love this place.

It's got newcastle, and that's worthy of at least 2 stars. The burger was really good for another star. The service and atmosphere got the difference. Parking could be better but it's not that far from either lot. I'm tempted to get a steak next time since they advertise "the best steak in town"... but I'm from texas. Following a warm welcome by the bouncer I sat at the bar after signing in. The live music hadn't started, but it was already loud enough so I'm ok having missed that. The interior is like a lot of other downtown buildings... you know what to expect. The Bartenders were fun but there was no absinthe.

We were in old downtown Jonesboro for a late lunch and every place we wanted to go was closed. Skinny J's was the only place open, so we went in, not expecting much...We were surprised at what we got...Our expectations were low because this just seems like a college town beer bar with food. The menu selections ranged from hamburgers to pasta, to seafood and steaks! My wife ordered the cheeseburger (w/cheddar cheese) with chips and I ordered their "Black & Bleu" steak salad. The service was friendly, but very slow. (It took about a half an hour to get our order and there were only 10 other people here!) When the food finally arrived the cheeseburger was of substantial size and delicious! It was the best cheeseburger we've had in recent memory! The quality Angus beef was cooked just as my wife had requested, med-rare. The topping included sliced tomato, sliced onions, lettuce, pickles and some type of mayonnaise. The plain-looking bun was anything, but. It was like some kind of Hawaiian sweet bun, firm and slightly sweet. Everything came together for an excellent burger! The "Black & Bleu" salad was equally great! The flat iron steak was cooked medium, as requested. It was topped with caramelized onions. It sat on a bed of chopped romaine lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. The bleu cheese dressing was made in house and was a great topping for this salad. Because everything was so good I am giving it 4 stars even with the slow service. The decor is a dive-y, sports bar, with concrete floors, brick main wall, with closed garage doors on the opposite wall. Five deer heads hung from the walls, with a pair of mounted ducks. There is a small raised platform along the brick wall that looked big enough for a soloist or duet perfomer(s). A digital projector projected ESPN on the wall about 8-feet across. We could see this would be a popular college hangout at night. It guess this place could get rowdy because on the menu we saw a mention of the "big guy" at the entrance who is friendly as long as everyone behaves...
