Once upon a time this place was a quality Chinese/Asian buffet. Those days have long passed and ended a little before even China Garden became bad. Honestly, I don't know what Jonesboro has to do to get a decent Chinese buffet, we have two Japanese Steakhouses, and not a single decent Chinese place. The food here is not good, it runs the gambit from tasteless to overly sugared and rich, to little chunks of bit in 4 inches of breading. Any way you cut its a buffet full of carbs and calories with little flavor to show for it. I guess if your just into the all you can eat thing its worthwhile, but I am a little more into quality not quantity.

Great selection and very clean Chinese/Asian buffet with sushi and made to order stir fry included in the price. Owner is very attentive and visible as he circulates checking on food quality and customer satisfaction.

It's the only Chinese buffet I will go to in Jonesboro. The spicy food is spicy like it is supposed to be. The mushrooms are my favorite.

I've been going here for years before they closed after the fire. I went back the day they reopened to see if anything changed. Nope! Same food prepared the same way. Not a bad thing really. The quality of the food is similar to other Chinese places in the area, if not slightly better. Also they have a very good lunch price. About $8 with a drink. The only thing I noticed is their hot and sour soup recipe changed, not as good as it was before! Overall the food is pretty good and their dining area and buffet look very clean.

Great buffet with a great selection of Chinese food. You name it. They got it. However on the night we visited the carpet was really dirty with debris, crumbs, and little shreds of paper napkins. Now I've eaten food and snacks in the dirty bowels of NYC's subway with no problem, but something about the uncleanliness of this place made my experience slightly unnerving. I got to wonder, "If this is the employees idea of cleanliness in the dining room then what's their idea of cleanliness in the kitchen?" And I doubt it was because the staff was super busy. They weren't. It was a very slow night and there were hardly any other customers inside the place.

This is a traditional buffet and has had a Japanese flair in the past. I have ate at kirin and it has been very good, and at times, below average. I have a friend that loves the place, but he lives out of town. I'm not a big fan of buffets, in general, but if that's what you like, this one is as good as any. Occasionally they will have specialty drinks.

This place broke me from Chinese buffets. Your food may or may not be hot. Parking isn't great. Hard to pull in and out of the restaurant. Keep driving and hit Slim Chickens or something.

This buffet is kind of hit and miss. Some days are just better than others. If you do go, be sure to go during peak hours (lunch and dinner) to get it fresh or just don't bother. One good thing about Kirin that makes it different from other generic Chinese buffets is the tepanyaki grill. You can fill a bowl with your choice of veggies and/or noodles along with a choice of sauces and they will stir-fry it for you with your choice of chicken, beef or shrimp. This is what I go there for. That, and it is the only buffet in Jonesboro that I know of that you can have hot green tea with your meal. I do wish they would bring back the Korean cold noodles and the green tea cookies. The owner is very nice and would bring me some of those great cookies whenever he saw me come in. Very nice! Kirin is a good place to go if you have a large group or kids! I have to admit I love the mini corndogs with sweet and sour sauce...

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
