Decided to try out this local restaurant and I'm so glad I did. I had their 3 pc chicken meal with a side of a roll and a small Apple cobbler and wow, was I impressed. Their fried chicken was the best I've ever had: a bit flaky and very juicy. The apple cobbler was savory and the super soft buttery roll left me speechless. I'll definitely come back!

Fantastic local chicken and comfort food. Always hot, fresh and delicious. My wife and i go there every other week and have never been disappointed. Customer service is great as well.

This place is a local, mom-&-pop alternative to KFC and other similar establishments. While they have more than just fried chicken (St. Louis style ribs, for example), the chicken is the specialty, and it is very good. The sides include the typical southern comfort food sides plus a few extras that you won't find at the big chains, such as fried okra and desserts. If you're in the mood for fried chicken or a quick comfort food fix, this is your place.

This is a southern dive in the best possible way. Looks like crap from the outside and worse from the inside, but... That was the best fried chicken I've ever had. The jalapeño cornbread and slaw were delicious as well. The entire meal cost me $6.00. I will DEFINITELY be coming back

Came for visit. My brother told me about this place. Tried the ribs first. Very tender. Pretty much fell off the bone. Sides were cabbage and corn on the cob. All were very good. Second visit had chicken, fried okra and another corn. Chicken was crispy and tasty. Peach cobbler was excellent, not too sweet.

I really LOVE good homemade comfort food like my grandmother used to make and this place definitely fits the bill. My family had our first visit in the late evening and dined in the restaurant. It's not the fanciest place you're ever going to eat but it's comfortable and clean. Service is quick and efficient even if something is prepared fresh for you right after ordering. Hubby had the fried chicken dinner plate and said the chicken was outstanding, his sides looked good too (mac and cheese and fried okra). I shared a popcorn chicken plate with my toddler and thought the chicken was perfectly done (moist, tender and fresh)! My only real complaint about the whole meal was the cornbread muffin tasting stale but I went to Chicken Country for the chicken not the muffin. This place can give KFC a run for their money, it is a good local eatery - would eat there again and will recommend.

The ribs were tasty but a bit tough. The fried chicken was nicely done with a crisp, flakey crust.

I stopped here after church last night because I love testing out new places. Even though they were closing in 15 the waitresses were polite and very helpful. I decided to get the "inferno" wings 6 winglets and a roll for 6.19, and a snack cajun nugget 3.99 for 6 pieces of breast meat cut into chunks with a total cost of 11.30... well...at least it was cooked to order, but was it worth it? Ummm no! I figure I just made a bad choice combinaton of product. But, I'm partial to being served closing food that has been on a steam table all day. The wing portions were spicy and flavorful, the nuggets were heat hot which is always good. I would be remiss to not take into consideration that this is not a major chain therefore the costs will be a bit higher than say...the cartoon character chicken place or event the religious chicken place. I will try them again earlier in the day so that I can make a more informed decision on the meals.

Very casual place, easy to find. Quick service, order at the counter. The chicken was impeccable, and my wife liked the special, the chicken and dumplings. The green beans and mustard greens both tasted good. The cornbread wasn't good, though - it was too hard or something - try the biscuits instead. Prices were fair.

Real home cooking with quick and friendly service. Have tried the popcorn chicken, baked chicken, fried okra, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and gravy, plus peach cobbler to write home about. Prices are reasonable, and the yeast rolls are hot and homemade.

I live in CA and I do not make it to the south often. I knew I wanted country food mainly catfish. We argued over where to eat and I am happy I won. Man it was some good good food and quick. The catfish was some of the best I have ever eaten. Homemade chicken and dumplings, hush puppies and homemade cobbler. I was in heaven and not minding breaking my diet.
